Samsung Intercept - User Reviews

  • Well, I and two other families all had this phone. It was a great phone and only reason stopped it's usage was due to technology outgrowing it. IF a person was foolish enough or ignorant to put too apps on the phone, or not have an app killer on their to automatically manage apps, then the phone could get stuck or slow respond due to too much resources used by background apps. Found it's slide out keyboard very useful in many situations. Had a unique thumb scroll pad that worked via infrared I think. I still kept the old phones, even though I have moved on to much newer phones. :-)

  • Does is really have incognito mode or am I just delusional?

  • The Samsung Intercept was a fine little phone back in 2010 and 2011, but, like all of the early smart phones, technology quickly outpaced it. By 2013 many of the Google Store apps no longer worked as they needed a more updated Android operating system as well as memory and processing power. By today's standards, this phone is almost completely useless outside of making calls and sending and receiving text messages. But look on the bright side. This phone makes a fantastic paperweight.

  • You are wrong! This phone is absolutely terrible! Bootloops, screen freezes, screen won't turn on, hardly any apps work, bad battery life. Pretty much everything bad you can imagine in a smartphone is bad in this phone

  • it has edge and wlan

  • This phone is a good/ok starter phone.I have this Samsung Inscript [AKA: samsung M910] ,STIL with veirgin Mobile. the amount of bars stink... 1 OR 2 Bars almost ever were i go. it has a good camera 3.2 mega. I got this phone with Android version 2.2. the screen frezes, some times does not respond and takes a while 2 load the screen icons. This phone is a good music phone. i love music. it has WiFi, which i use alot because of my awful signal strength. I wish it was not on this network and that it had AT&t instead. i guess it an ok starter phone

  • i had this phone for quite a while now and i still have it{2012}. it really stinks on apps in today's market although u can install Google play on it. some apps work on the phone and others do not. there are no live wallpapers on this phone and it is very slow on android v 2.2.2. it does have WiFi and Bluetooth. I WOULD NOT buy this phone in 2012 if i were u.I got mine with android v 2.2.2 so i cant test it on the older version.:C

  • I had this phone for a very long time. The good things about it: a good android to start with, it's so cheap for being Android (I got it for $80), it is hard to break this phone (durable), and it has qwerty! It has the most important features that you can ever have in mind. But one thing, you will have to either get used to it's slow processing speed or stop multitasking many things. Otherwise GREAT.

  • There needs to be a recall

  • I got this as my first smartphone. Pros: - Available with cheap no-contract plans from Virgin Mobile - Runs Android - Has a physical keyboard - I like the button placement (obviously this is a matter of taste, but I like the power button on the front) - Not ridiculously large, not eye-strainingly small. Nice balance, IMO. Cons: - Starved for RAM. Even most other low-end Android phones have 512MB, vs the Intercept's 256. - Only supports EVDO rev.0, not rev.A. Since it's my only phone I can't say how much better rev.A is. It is theoretically faster and more reliable, but in real-word use I can't say. - If you try to listen to music, it will skip unless you A) Have a really good signal, or B) Turn on airplane mode. I'm told this is not a problem on other Android phones because they have dedicated modem processors, so the CPU is always available to the OS. - The physical keyboard sucks. I hesitated to even put it in the "pros" section, because trust me, you will prefer using on-screen keyboards. - The GPS is flakey and WILL NOT WORK without active cell phone service. Basically, this phone looks a lot better on paper than it really is. The lack of RAM makes a HUGE difference in usability. It's widely considered one of the worst (if not THE worst) Android phone on the market. When I bought it, it was the only Android available on Virgin Mobile. Today, there are much better phones, like the LG Optimus V and Optimus Slider. I'm considering ditching my Intercept for one of those.

  • I personally love the phone. I got it for $150 n that's including the unlimitited plan. People have complain bout it freezing n shutting off. But as long as u don't download a million apps ull be fine. And along wit facebook already bein in the phone u also get a version of advance task killer. So if evry so often u go there and end apps ur apps ur not using it helps a lot.

  • It runs Android

  • is there any windows mobile in samsung

  • The real price is 147 euros Source > Best buy

  • yes as long as you try and keep it from people who are bad and willing to steal it.

  • capacitave

  • im 11 is this a good starter phone 4 me

  • does this phone have capacitive or resistive touchscreen??

  • I own this phone and love it! The price was great for my first droid and the $25 monthly unlimited plan from Virgin Mobile is a wonderful value!

  • Yes, this is not a bad starter smartphone, esp. considering Virgin's $25 plan is perfect for you.

  • I LOVED THE IDEA OF PUTTING THIS PHONE ON A PREPAID SERVICE! What more could some ask for? this phone comes packed with, 3.0 mega pixel camera/camcorder, android 2.1, gps navigation, google, 32gb of expandable memory, and pretty much anything you don't like is customizable, also you can stream youtube videos. all this for 99.99 on Sprint plus 2 year agreement, or 249.99 on virgin mobile with unlimited calling/web/text for 60.00 monthly or 300 talk mins/unlimited text/web for 25.00 monthly. beat that!

  • This is a neat little phone. It may not be the greatest invented but it suits my purposes. Not everyone wants to spend $500-$600 on a phone. Virgin mobile offers great service cheaper than the rest plus it is a touchscreen with droid. What more can you ask for? The screen freezes sometimes but so do iphones. This is a great phone. I don't know what cdma or the other initials you guys were talking about but I enjoy this phone. Worls great for me

  • I am a first time phone buyer and this would be my first phone (ima teen) and this seems like the ok phone for me. Am I right?

  • For the price this is a great little Android phone. A faster processor, Higher Res Screen and Camera would be nice, but that would have pushed the price up. Up to now this is the best prepaid phone that money can buy. Those who complain about this have more money than sense.

  • not good mobile

  • Not even sure Sprint offered this. This is a rebranded Samsung Moment without the AMOLED higher resolution screen. This or the Transform model was supposed to be the upgraded newest Moment (SPH-m900). The Moment is a decent 800MHz Android smartphone but can't compete with the newer 720p 1GHz ARMv7 processors (or above). If rooted these ARMv6 based phones will run Android v2.2 but can't support Adobe Flash Mobile. Look for AMOLED rather than this lower tft based phone if looking towards Samsung. And IMHO spend the extra to get a 1GHz or better CPU and 4G with 802.11n WiFi. These phones are CMDA because Sprint uses that for its 3G network.

  • i think that anyone that s in right state of mind should by this phone.the keybord is useless, there is a missplaced arows and space bar, the screen is to big for whvga and it has only 65k colors.

  • it's exactly what i've been waiting for...except for the major issue i have with it: it's friggin CDMA...wtf?!? way to go and cut out an entire market of consumers!

  • whats the internal Mem for this phone?

  • very bad mobile. ..

  • it's cdma!!! lol...

  • off course no GPRS or Edge, don't you read that this phone for CDMA network technology?? have you hear CDMA phone support GPRS?? hmm

  • i like it more dn nokia

  • What a shame, wifi but no gprs wat useless stuff from samsung

  • no gprs?oh no?no correctly-its mistake or gsmarena mistake or samsung is crazy have 3g and wifi but no gprs--realy???

  • yay, cheap androids :D

  • Screen & Cam!

  • What is the difference between Samsung Acclaim and this one ?
