I have issue,my phone dosent have line/connection,which is i cant make a call or receive call,even emergency call. I already try a few "asus" method like: Format the phone 2 time Turn of/on aeroplane mode At the end, i smash my "asus max plus m1" at the wall. The end ( sorry for my bad grammar)

This phone is HORRIBLE. Don't buy this phone you will have a better time with a Flip phone then this, it crashes all the time your Bluetooth and Wifi will cut out this phone heats up like a Microwave and when you face time or anything the Camera is Blurry don't buy this phone you will have better luck with any other phone but this one. Also Never buy a Phone with a Mediatech Processor period.

I've got this phone since its first released. And i find amazing though because i've dropped it several times but never had an issue with its functions on its hardware. What i like the most about this phone is intergrated software: The Asus Mobile Manager software which allows you to manage your phone easily It's up to you to discover it. It's totally great! The only issue i have is its querty keypad because its compressed that's why you get to press the wrong letter sometimes. But Overall, Two Thumps Up ! Worth the price!

That is because you kill your battery from watching movies or YouTube too much, which will cause you're phone to lag and/or crash alot. To help this get better you need to boost your phone and clean it's memory. Also, don't own huge apps.

There is an update. I have this phone. Ever since ASUS updated my phone to Android 8.1.0, I've been having so many crashes. I also don't get phone calls, and sometimes texts even. I don't recommend this phone at all.

The ASUS Zenfone Max Plus M1 has disappointed me to no end. The errors/bugs in it include: Laggy firmware which causes random restarts, freezes, crashes Blurry rear camera Middle of touchscreen - there is a strip that just does not work, for no apparent reason. Speakers crackling when clicking back or opening anything to load Multiwindow button needs tapping twice before it responds Facebook app errors due to this phone only (eg. likes and reactions not displaying) Oh my god, please NEVER, EVER, buy an ASUS phone if you value a stable smartphone.

June-2019 in Canada the phones audio equlization function which allows amplification of bass and treble did not work when I tried it using the built in FM radio.The airplane mode disables the built in FM radio function for some reason.

I bought the ASUS_X018D cell phone one year ago. My requirements were A) Factory unlocked set B) at least dual SIM provisions C) Decent battery life D) Octa-Core processor 1.5 or higher E) Decent internal RAM, i got the model best buy had, 32GB F) Micro SD provision G) Decent graphics, most definitely NOT top of the line, i don't need top of the line. H) and decent price, approx $200.00 Bottom line, this ASUS_X018D has exceeded all my expectations, i truly got my money's worth. Sooooo to all those reviews that disparraged this cell phone, you have been proven wrong. i remember at the time before i bought this cell phone some people dogged this cell for allegedly getting extremely hot that almost caught on fire they claimed; i say NONSENSE!!!! The battery gets a little warm when phone is being used for extended periods of time(i never have run out of charge); but NEVER caught on fire. the fact that the battery warms up is merely simple physics.

Not a bad phone at all. I use mine when I travel. Though the specs don't make the phone look that great on paper, it's pretty quick and responsive. I think it actually got faster with the Oreo update. There are two things I really love about this phone, (1) the phone supports dual sims plus an additional tray for microSD (most phones have a secondary tray that works for a sim or SD card not both), (2) The specs don't say so, but this phone supports AptX!

Don't consider it for game play or something it can't even support pubg in low without lag. Great rear camera thou it's bad when it's low light, pic quality go way down. The build quality is very solid I have dropped it for many times still functioning ,PLEASE note they Have serious issues with their software after I updated their software my phones performance dropped and automatically restart for couples of time if buy try not to update.

This phone is the worst phone I have ever had ! Really ! After 11 month the batterie last 1 day, the quality of the photos is reeeeeaally horrible. And most of the time it takes at least 30 secondes to open an app. Don't even think of taking a photo quickly, by the time the camera open, the thing you want to photograph will be gone

With screen brightness settings set at minimal, power saving options set properly, battery lasts 2 to 3 days with minimal use. Lasts 16 to 24 hours average use. 6 to 8 hours heavy usage. Continuous usage gaming 4 to 6 hours. I am not sure if this helps, but this is what I experienced. One more thing, battery gets hot and feels hotter than other phones because of alumminum case. It does not affect performance but makes you feel worried about the phone. On oreo now, still waiting if the phone will be updated to pie.. But pie update is 50/50.

My opinion: It's a good phone, especially if you are a normal user. My example: Instagram + Pokémon Go + YouTube + Callings + Music + Typing Documents, at the end of the day my battery percentage is between 30 and 40. Camera is not the best, but works well. The sound is awesome for that kind of phone and system is decent (Oreo works worse than Nougat version, some crashes suddenly). If you are an older Asus user, all features and tools come from own Asus is there, works very well. Just an advice, that phone uses Mediatek processor, so when you use a lot your phone, it could became warm, it's normal. That is my experience with 5 months, I am a Brazilian user and my version has 3GB RAM, 32GB of storage, accept SD card expansion and 2 chips.

There seems to be more bugs and random crashes from the default factory settings on Android 7.0. After having the phone pull the updated 8.1.0 - Oreo the system is running a lot more smoother. I am running a second line on the identical but Silver edition of this phone (Model ASUS_X018D 32Gb) It will not see the 8.1.0 update as available and the phone will crash randomly when in use. Applications freezes in the middle of usage, freezing behavior continues after multiple factory resets, I am submitting a return request for the Silver and try again on the Black edition of the phone.

You can just set the graphics option to low if the game does not run.This phone is not designed for gaming but it has very good features compared to other phone in its category. Its LTE data is very fast if LTE-Advanced is activated.I played also games in this cool phone and I enjoyed it.

Pubg should be playable because of its dual graphics engine (T860 x 2) .Just dont crank up its graphics setting because Pubg is very heavy graphical game. Network lag is also common in Pubg so one must have very good internet connection with low latency (Fast internet is not enough; Should have good latency as well) Some people reported that this phone has lower performance in oreo system, true or not, expect Asus will provide and fix the issue very soon. Me, im playing other various 3D games with this nice phone with no problem.

after the upgrade to oreo 2 days ago, the phone became problematic. The cellular signal is erratic and totally useless when 4g is activated, the remedy was to select 3g on the preferred network settings. Also, the battery drain so fast even on stand by mode. Hope Asus release software update soon

This phone is quite powerful, and quite fast. Oreo has bug in it so lets wait for another update. Anyway, ASUS has very active aftersupport and updates compared to other brands. So no worries, another system update should come very soon.

The lastest update seems to caused the phone to lag and slow down. There were instance where weird noise/sound suddenly echo and then the phone will restart. Have using this phone for a couple of month. It is a decent phone but sure it is not the best for that price. You get what you pay. Standby time up to 4days. Normal usage (wifi/data on 24hrs, whatsapp, calling etc.) up to 2-3 days. Heavy usage (game, video, browser etc.) up to 16 hours. Charge the phone using the original charger come with it inside the box. Charging take 2hr 30min to 3hrs. Start charge from 5%-15% and stop charging when it reach 85%-95%.

Hi, Im also experiencing this. I got a bit disappointed because my prev. phone is Samsung J5 prime with 2500mAh but I can enjoy a whole day of browsing and playing games. I can even play 2 sets of ML with 15% battery. But now with this Zenfone Max Plus with 4130 mAh, after 3 sets of games it drained from 40% to 19%. My setting is medium graphics only. Im wondering if this is just a defect or it really is an issue to all zenfones?

Just bought this phone last week and i noticed that battery drains so fast...i.charge so slow...heats up when watching movies or playing games...this is by far the worst ASUS zenfone...had zenfone 4 max...and battery life is so amazing...100% charged in the morning, wifi or data is on the whole day, i watch onlune, during breaks or ay gaes...by the time i get home from work around 8pm it still has 30% bat life...max plus, by 3pm is already at 15% with just data or wifi on...no playing games or watching movies...

I had the same issue. It often rings 2 minutes late or 4 minutes late, same for you? Try go to Battery --> Battery Optimisation settings --> turn off battery optimisation for alarm clocks. Let me know if it helps.

I have this phone for a month or so. And it's pretty good, fast and the battery can hold a lot of processes , apps. I charge it around once per 2 days, but i use it extensively, otherwise the battery can hold for more than 2 days. People who experience batter heat, it is because you dont update it, once you update it for a newer version, there is no more batter heat. And it works even greater after the updates, which i had two of them until now.

I bought this last July 9 and things are starting to get worse every single day! I chose this because of its said "performance" and now, I just hate it. 1. It is not the "battery king" as they say. 2. The left side of the speaker is not working same as the right side (ofc in all sorts of music, I tried). 3. IT HEATS UP WAY TOO HIGH. 4. I cant seem to find some downloaded files?? 5. It lags sometimes even when Im not using any games or there are no background apps. Im just using messenger. And 5. Whenever I restart it, it wont open again. Even when using the power button. As in no response at all unless I charge it, then the LED indicator will light up and after like 10-15 minutes, it will turn itself on again. 6. MY SD CARD WON'T WORK! I'm using a 32 gb Sandisk SD Card and I bought it the very same day when I bought this phone. At first, everything was fine. I saved pics, vids, and musics in it, then soon after, some pics were corrupted. Same thing when I took photos using the camera. Vids wont play. Musics wont play the whole length. There is always this thing that needs me to grant an access to my SD card and it will always fail! I thought the update will fix this but nah. I just hate it. THIS IS MY FIRST ASUS PHONE AND I HOPE IT WILL BE THE LAST.

Just switch my phone from Galaxy j6 over this.. im dissapointed at the low quality speakers and battery life.. J6 can last up to 3 hrs on straight gaming.. but the Max plus only last 1 hr.. J6 has 3000mah , Maxplus 4100 ..wth

Went ahead to buy this phone because of the negative comments ... This phone is above excellent ......sharp front and back camera.... FHD QUALITY DISPLAYS.... Crispy and clear audio output and wonderful sound when using earplugs...fast facial recognition... 0.1s fingerprint scanning...super fast internet but got hot a little while on 4g ... Full day battery life on heavy usage... Lag free... I'm getting another unit for someone tomorrow...winks

Yes I have similar problem.. cellular data connection in the became problematic after the 1st 2 months.. The connection either dies or weakens (without reason) while other phones have regular signal (using the same telecom subscriber)... I had to send it to the repair center..

The battery is far from good. Using the phone for biking, with strava, maps, bluetooth music and 4g with screen off the battery duration is about 6h or less, with the old LG x power I get 9h/10h with screen on. The bluetooth, that I always let on before, now must leave it off because in a single day without use it consumes 15% of the battery, and the signal is very weak, one wall and starts the jumps. The 4g router its a mess, work 1 time in 20 attempts (with luck). Maybe with oreo update became a better phone, but for now the full price in this phone its a offense, buy it only with 50% discount or more.

Really disappointed by this phone. I love ASUS for other products, but on the first day of ownership, the glass covering the camera's lens broke without any real impact impact "placed it on a ceramic countertop". On the second day, I noticed the screen is already scratch by being in my shirt pocket. Bought the Zenfone to replace a moto g 1st gen that I had for 4+ years and besides the charging port, it never broke or scratch, and I dropped it on concrete a couples of times, put it in my pockets with keys etc etc...And never had a case or screen protection So I don't think the zenfone Max Plus will last very long. Too bad because it is kind of fast and good looking.

Big Asus fan! That being said, this phone has software problems.For the longest time I thought the bluetooth problem was with my car. I think there have been at least 3 system updates and all seem to make the problem worse. Car bluetooth receives well. Outgoing signal is unintelligible, low volume or gone. Plantronics bluetooth earpiece seemed fine. Two updates ago, the Plantronics started acting up. Outgoing ok, incoming gone. Now the phone is acting out without bluetooth. Outgoing ok, incoming gone. I am tired of doing the suggested "back up and reset" and tired of cheat sheet readers. This phone has fallen far from the tree!

Just bought a brandnew Asus Zenfone Max Plus and the 4000MAh is not even true . My phone just reach 7 hours straight surfing with wifi . Please do fix it . I bought phone 6/May/2018. hen i switched on it was working fine. i configured and saw the battery was 40% and connected charger. after 3 hours i went and saw the phone is dead. not able to wake up. and charging light also switched off. try switch on mobile for more than an hour unable to switch on. I tried with different chargers too. 2 hours later try press the power button more than a minute then phone responded. Dont know what is the issue with phone. Display , sound is good camera average but I asked for return. I cannot use this buggy phone

I have had this phone for 6 months. It has been back to ASUS twice for repairs on the terrible Wi-Fi- and still is awful. As a phone, and for texting, it is good. For DATA and Wi-Fi, it is useless. The camera is barely adequate, but I did not expect great quality at the price, but I did expect decent Wi Fi. Save your money. BTW, I have spent most of the past 6 months using my 4+ year old Nexus 5 since it is more reliable. I bought the ASUS because of the dual sim cards- but still have to carry a second phone if I want Wi Fi. Avoid ASUS.

Upgrade your firmware and use HDR mode, mate, because zen max plus only put 1.0 um sensor on their camera so it would not great for average type person. I'm used to be a dslr user for years and i dont really surprised about any smartphone camera, but manual control is usefull.

Great phone, I use it as my second or back up. Great screen, cheap price, nice build quality and great battery life. It lasts two days on pretty constant use. I don't play games but watch a ton of youtube. Only drawback is no Gorilla Glass or anything scratch resistant on it. I don't really care because I take care of my phones but I can see how this could be an issue for many people who randomly throw it in their bag etc.

Im not using honor 9 lite yet but my experience using nova2i is good, all i can say is huawei put such great effort to camera feature. In other words, you can choose h9lite for photo quality, camera feature and more powerfull cpu, or max plus m1 for bigger ram and rom, extendable creatifully wide lenses, and of course bigger battery.

I actually initially returned this phone after buying it. I felt it was a bit choppy and thought I could get better for the price. I was wrong. I tried other phones and did extremely thorough Internet research and ended buying BACK the same Max Plus phone, from Best Buy again. Ultimately, for the price, it is a very good quality phone. The screen, battery, and overall speed are great. Very crisp, colourful and snappy experience. It does heat up a lot, the buttons and overall design is clunky, and it can be choppy, but if you look at the specs, this is simply best phone you can get for the price.

i brought one and i like it just like my good old asus zenfone 5 (intel SoC) i only hate is the screen protection its only typical glass for smartphone. audio output on speaker is decent poor and software (mostly google apps like music player) yes it heat up for long hours of use full brightness. this is worth for bucks for me unlike oppo A57 (ONLY I LIKE IS COLLABORATION OF DIRAC AB for audio the rest specs for girls or ladies like selfie anyday)

I'm currently using this device as my daily drive. The battery is very good even i dont use power saving mode, it has 7-8 hours of SOT with almost 17 hours intensify use, in Indonesia, max plus has HD res, i feel disappointed knowing that asus decrease it resolution, but it acceptable, even the quality of screen is average. The main question is why asus put mediatek chipset here, even it has MT6750T as oppo f3 and vivo v5 had ever used, asus can put helio p23. Performance is not so great, its just average, online game like Mobile Legend and Vain glory has a no lag but fpsdrop is appear somewhere, netmarble evil bane is fully playable too. Surprisingly, there is no heat or even overheat issue while this device is being used in intensivve gaming, even it use mediatek. Maybe, mali TP860mp2 in asus max plus is similar like in helio p10. Or, reducing screen from fulhd to hd is a nice decision. I dont know why everyone seems have heat and battery drain issue, maybe it because they have fullHD version.

Originally i wanted the normal zenfone max; no finger print & dual camera based on my budget. I have 2 choice; zenfone max or samsung j7 pro. Yet, i chose max since j7 pro's android only 6.0 which is older. But the seller suggest i take max plus since if differs myr100 only so i take it. I used asus zenfone go zc500tg previously, but it's so laggy and always stopped app for like everytime. Which disturb my work if i use it urgently. Camera - 8.5/10 (wide angle is nice for group photo, but only up to 8mp, kinda downline for me. front camera just ok. They have selfie master which similar with other beauty app) screen - 8/10 (they have this one hand operation view, which quite handy for a multitasking person like me. plus glove mode, i havent test yet but will do in the future. Im not sure whether it is Youtube new feature or this phone, u can watch it in 2 types of full screen, 1 which utilized the whole screen, 1 is normal view full screen. No corning gorilla like max pro, from what i know it protect your screen from minor scratch & crack. Thats make me to handle it with extra super duper care & alert. I drop my zenfone go hundred times, no injury until the ultimate fall from motorbike. Yeah, one big scar across the screen) battery - 7/10 (so far, as a new phone no problem. Full charged on 6am, use it the whole day without having a panic attack in finding my powerbank which is my everyday routine. Depends on what i do on that day, if i watch video it'll drain faster yet not so fast like my zenfone go. Bare in mind i use it with 4g internet 24hours & active streaming-fb, youtube, google, whatsapp, wechat, some on9 game, joox & instagram. Charging it to full took time & somehow annoyed me without a reason. Asus are well known for their hot battery, my zenfone go even have personal fan to cool it down when it is too hot. So far max plus never get that hot level that i got, only warm when i use youtube continuosly ) unlock - 9.5/10 (finger print is like a must in 2018. So, i love it. I havent tried face recognition yet thus 9.5 score) mobile manager - 10/10 (i thought it was file manager but im wrong. Similar to clean master, u dont need to install clean app. I love it because no ads for sure. Save your phone memory tho) zen.ui 4.0 interface - 10/10 (prrobably what makes me like asus is i dont need to install lock app theme & phone theme. Plus asus keyboard can customize theme & can put picture in it! Again i dont need to install unless u want more updated emoji) android 7.0 nougat - 8/10 (u cant complain if u have 7.0 in 2018 unless u got 5.1 lolipop. Probably because that im aware that 8.0 version is already available on certain phone since it is the latest one. But 7.0 quite ok, u cant complain yet) reverse charge - 4/10 (the lowest one, why? It is not fuctional. I test it with my zenfone go for this feature, but unfortunately nothing happen. I dont know whether i need to set up first or what, thus 4 since it is bad number in chinese. Ha. Ha.) overall - 7.5/10 (because google apps took my storage the most out of all the apps, & u cant uninstall it. I mean i dont use google play music & tv and google photo app. I hate it cuz its sit there like parasite. The one that makes me mad as hell is that i have to use google music or joox to listen my music. Thats -2 points. The box comes with usual usb charger, pin to access the simcard & sd card, earphone with extra sets of buds, usb for reverse charging, & silicone case. No screen protecter, depends on the shop whether foc or upgrade to tempered glass-a must. Affordable price, the only differs max plus & max pro is dual camera, finger print & ram. If u have more budget, go for max pro or nova 2i. But if lesser budget yet wanted hi-tech feature, this one is ok since it is one of the latest.) My review based on my own experience. So, it might differs with others experience with max plus. My suggestion, go for lots of survey and asked the expert. I took half an hour just for arguing & discussing the specs with my tech geek friend on the phone b4 finally bought it. Dont ask girls, they just bought phone bcuz it is trendy & celebrity endorsement. Differs from me altho im a girl, i go for specs first b4 else. I dont bought asus because of gong yoo, thats for sure.

I am pretty sure you will only get the 1440X720 screen with 4gb ram and the 1080X2160 with 3gb ram although I noted many of the Asian sites only have the 1440X720 screen.Strange pricing though, just one dollar difference for the lower resolution screen plus an extra 1 gb of ram . You would think the lower spec with the extra 1 gb of ram would give better performance and better battery life but that pricing has me puzzled. I di note that on the Asus global site they spruke the 1080X2160 screen but they list both screens in their spec sheet.

I had this phone last 1-26-18 and i was amazed by its long battery life, performance, as well as the camera... But after i updated the firmware the battery drains faster like it consumes 2 percent of my battery when I'm on mobile data and it was not doing that before the update and also i'm having issues with the super resolution because it tends to get blurry after the result... I hope their new update will fix these issues on my device.. But so far, this phone is good for basic use... Not having issues at all in terms of its hardware

I've bought this phone on January 25, 2018. All was fine until I tried to charge it the second time around, the battery was stopped at 74%. I did all the troubleshoot, from safe mode, charged it on a laptop, factory reset, system update, etc. It's still the same. I will bring it later in the service center. This is my first Asus mobile.
