Gionee M2 am using it for 4 years. Though as of now, it is an model with all outdated specifications. i have been using gioneem2 for a year now. i have two problems 1. the screen due to crash, even with anti crash, the anti crash survive but my gionee did not. worst still anytime there is a little crash the phone wont work until one replaces it, this is in contrast with other smat phones i have used. 2. my greatest problem is the memory, contrary to my experience with other smart phones, the internal memory of gionee is unsustainable. at full operation of apps i used on other phone, t takes maximum of one week before my gionee begins to complain of memory and so many apps stop working until memory is freed. any solution to this problem?

This phone is perfect for (i) playing video games ( supported Android 4.2) evenif processor temperature 42 degree + (ii) setting Live Wall paper on Mobile screen long time for its strong battery back up (iii) Capturing high quality picture and videos. Yeah Its Support Micro SD Card For Installing Any Other Third Party Applications. But There Are Some Core Apps Available In Play Store that Can Not Install in SD Card. Like Facebook And Whatsapp It Will Be install in Ur Device Storage. if U Moved Them Forcefully that Apps Will be Currpeted. I purchased this Phone during January 2015. Immediately after completion of one year the touch screen started malfunctioning and the right bottom portion became in operational. I brought the phone to the service center and get repaired it at a cost of Rs. 200. Within hours it became malfunction again. Again I contacted the service center and they told me that the touch screen to be renewed for which I have to pay Rs. 2350. What i could figure out is that this is due to GStore, a Gionee store. which ever applications are there on gstore, you are not able to downlaod from google play store. more ever now next step of this problem is that now Gtore wants an upgrade and now androide is not letting gstore update, so the users are in jinx. we are not able to download any app. I request do not purchase gionee phone till then.

Phone is very good but from last few days back key is not working. So i installed gmd auto hide softkeys. U can use softkey enabler pro spp too. Both works well but I suggest gmd. Your phone needed to be rooted.

Hay friends I am very happy with the performance of this phone. U can play hours of time hd games like dead trigger, asphalt8 etc and without any heating issue. It's hardware is also very tough, thrice it fall from five feet nothing happened to the device.Also very impressive clear picture quality with video recording at 1080p,well lit blurry in front camera.Any how I thanks gionee for such a smartphone. I bought the Gionee M2 in June 2015, and thought it was a great buy, even at 13000, until recently. The phone keeps rebooting every 5 to 10 mins. I thought it could be because of too much in the memory etc. Cleared, cleaned, uninstalled apps, did every thing I possibly could. But no use. The worst part is that the list of Service Centres provided has been a total wash out. At the Rajaji Nagar , Bangalore centre I was told they had discontinued service for the last 8 months, and did not know where I could go. The JayaNagar service center operator was extremely rude, asking me what she could do if I told her the problem over phone. Bring it here, we will see, she said. She could have done it politely. Very disappointed.

It is somewhat of a specialty product, maximized for battery life. I have used it for the last year and a half for travel through India and Asia. It is a perfect travel phone -- dual sim, inexpensive, huge battery... The low-res screen took me a week or so to get used to, but I tell myself this saves on battery too. Overall, I am very happy with it, and, in keeping with the battery saver spirit, have done my best to keep it lean -- rooted it and got rid of some of the Gionee apps, froze some of the background apps and services that I never use. I disabled startup hooks for most apps, and denied background data for everything but messaging. I also loaded up apps as alternatives to the data-hogging and processor-hogging defaults. I keep the radios that I am not using off... I can still go for several days without charge, and with moderate use. This is very handy if you spend time on long bus rides, train rides, etc. There aren't too many products like this. If I had to do it over, I'd look for one ( the M3?), because I really like not having to think about charging all the time.

Well. I am thankful of the dude who suggest me to buy this phone. I bought this phone about a half year ago, I found that it is an awesome phone because of its battery life that is 4200mAh, I can use 3 to 4 days without plugging the charge. .. but I am not satisfied of its camera because whenever I capture any photos, pictures quality is good but during zoom it isn't good. I have a Gionee M2 which I have been using since August 24 2014.. It is a good phone with a superb battery backup that can last 3-4 days on a full charge of 100%. Some of the problems with the phone are its heavy due to the bulky battery size but the recent Over the air updates from gionee have created some confusion like how do I cancel the running applications in the background and also in themes you have desktop effects how does that work. I think the GIONEE M2 is a gaming device. bcoz it supporting all HD games like GTA SAN ANDRESS,NFS MOST WANTED,MODERN COMBAT 4 and many more. but Sony , Samsung(specially) can't supported these games. so guys what will you expect more than it in 10000/-. But there is 1 Miner problem that CHARGING JACK of this phone is not working well. it shows wrong battery percentage, this issue must repair by gionee.

Some problems with the phone, recently did a factory reset, then apps had to be updated , but when I do so the phone starts misbehaving, like after I updated gmail, gmail won't respond and internet will stop working and factory reset also won't work, I took it to service center but of no use, what's wrong? M2 was a phone I bought to take care of my lower-end phone use. My honest submission is that it had far out-worked that range. Tried to replace it with more expensive models, but I keep coming back to it when disappointed. So its my only Android phone since early 2014 of its release, contesting supremacy with my iphone 5s, and doing well in all departments as my iphone, but doing far better with battery life that goes for almost 60hrs of busy usage after full charge. Its 4200mAh battery is great. You honestly want functionality, ruggedity (mine had dropped severally, but i have no cracked screen) and reliance, go for Gionee M2. I dont even know its country of origin.

Gionee M2 is a must and only buy phone with respect to budget and all parameters.Agreed display is not HD but TFT.But how can one ignore that if display was HD then battery backup would not be 3 days after heavy usage but only 1.5 days.Moreover why one would look for HD display only, after all you are not buying a mobile phone to find a mole in a mountain. Further friends Gionee M2 is now available with 8GB.What more one could expect in this budget??. I feel very very unfortunate that i was given 4GB internal storage by gionee outlet,may be at that time 8GB had not emerged.I contacted gionee but they said now its not possible and i cant sue from them too :(. I request if any gionee official comes through my post can help me to change to 8GB.Actually i have two mobile i got one for myself and another for my wife. Both are 4GB.

It's display / touch pad is just like a glass leaf, It breaks with a tough hold or even if u put it on table with little hard hand. I changed the display of this phone three times in last 4 months. This company had very bad service provider My cell phone's touch broke in front of my eyes at the service center while placing it to the mobile box. And then the person at service center told me that its your fault you have to pay for new touch display again. Can you imagine this company Gionee is selling bull shit in India. I am using this phone from last 4 months. The phone is having nice battery backup. But there are some issues related to its performance. One of the major issue is, on clicking pics using front camera, the phone saves it as it as instead of its mirror image. Also the music player behaves improper,its stops in middle only while playing a list of songs. The search option in music player is case sensitive,which is a problem. Also While opening any option from settings,first the android ui is displayed and then the system ui is displayed. If anyone finds option for resolving these major problems plz do let me know.

Not exactly a con but it is expected that it will be a little heavy if it is giving you a huge amount of battery backup. Also an option to time the switching on and switching off of the data connection like some other phones would help especially if we could automatically switch off the data connection at night and switch it on in the morning.

Yes you can do that by routing your mobile phone... There is a problem that its lifr will decrease but, during routing, if its battery dies, then it will never be on.... so do it on your own risk...

Factory reset your phone.Erase all your data option is to be used.Actually when you get back,data loss is very minimal - on few contacts information loss may be there.In addition you remove all the apps which are native existing.Many of them you can remove like all games,poker and many other apps which you know is certainly not going to benefit you.I kept only google services and certain specific apps which allow me only to disable in settings->app. Once reboot has been through and your phone is up,your applications previously stored would be installed automatically one by one. When your phone is ready ,check the storage space.Install atop of it cleanmaster app and daily make a point by end of day to run this app.I always keep my phone 1.04 GB free by this method and i am able to do so.

Gionee M2 should not take more than five hours for a full charge. To resolve the problem, try another similar rated charger (borrow from friends or buy a new one) to see whether it charges well. If not, you may have to try a new battery or take the battery to a service centre for a check up.

Service centre mentioned in catalogue provided and in the web site are not in existence. At last I have given the phone to one dealer. Even after two week I have not received the phone after repair. Why should take such pain. Don't go for Gionee. Indian companies are best.

Same time thing happened to me too. Many Wrong patterns and then after asking user name and password. Here u seem to have entered either wrong password or user name asked at the time when u were creating the unlocking pattern. U have to enter both correctly.

Hi M2 is an awesome. I am using it since last 6 months. Till now I didnt face any issues. One of my concern is whenever I want to attach a document files through gmail or whatss app.. I am not able to find the file explorer in that option or the files are not available in the gallery. If I copy the .doc file in the photos folder too.. I wont display while open the attachement option of gallery in whatssap or gmail. It shows only pictures and videos. Not documents. If file explorer comes in the attachment. The problem is solved. It seems to me that you are trying to download apps from the Google play store using 2G. Not to say you can't since I have successfully downloaded apps using 2G but it takes a lot of time. 2G speed Depends on location,time of day,operator etc. at times you are successful and at times not. Try 3G and you will always be successful.

Unreal battery backup!!!! I got this phone simply because of its battery. But I was in for a surprise, as the phone is quite a performer as well. Never lags, never freezes, and has handled all the games that I threw at it. Asphalt 8 and the like may pose problems, but I sure didn't find any problem in any other game. And you can trust me...because I have used an lg optimus g with quad core processor and a 2 GB ram before, so I know what I'm talking about. Easily lasts a day and a half with VERY HEAVY usage. I played games constantly, watched YouTube videos on WiFi,and pretty much did everything to try and drain its battery. But it handled my demands beautifully!! Also, I expanded its memory to 32 GB by a micro SD card. No problems whatsoever there . Those people thinking of getting it, stop thinking and go get it. The build quality is solid, doesn't feel like a cheap phone at all. And it's still pretty handy despite the 5 inch screen. The only con I'd say is the screen resolution. But it saves more battery.

Reminders notification is always behind the screen. So, to read and stop it, I have to unlock the screen first.
