Had this smartphone before the Galaxy S5 & I don't recall having any significant issues with it. Not a high end device but it worked pretty reliably for the cost.

All was hunky dory until year after usage frontal cam started to pile up dust from the inside and it can't be cleaned, not without special tools and knowledge anyways. Now after 3 years or so of using the phone Power button got stuck (due to bad insulation to dirt I guess) - can't clear that too because the it's built in such way that you can't remove button, unless you feel like breaking it out. Overall - poor insulation to dust is this phone's greatest downfall and because of this I wouldn't recommend this phone. My friend adviced to buy Motorola G5, checked it and it has 8 core cpu compared SV's dual core. After 3 years forced to buy new phone, way to go modern technology.

We'll whomever is having problems with their hTc ONE SV, you may need to factory reset your phone just in case you have a virus. If that doesn't work, try flashing a stock version of the rom. *You do not need to Root your phone* So therefore it will pretty easy to do. But sorry, this will not work for storage issues. But I may recommend rooting your phone to get External 2 Internal SD. It may or may not work on your device but you can also unroot your phone.

Had this phone for two years, many times i was confronted with not having enough storage space. It claims to have 8GB, but realistically (and bizarrely) it has a little over 2GB for apps. And also no ability to install apps onto the MicroSD. Glad my contract is done with it.

I am having this same problem. In order to power on my phone I have to remove the battery once on the screen is freezes and I have to continue this process until it decides to come on completely. Once the home screen appears I receive an error message (continuously). Now I can't dial out or receive calls. I am horrified :-(.

yes, i had the same problem, apparently the same period, after around 1 year it started collapsing the OS... in the beginning some apps were stopped unexpextedly, then after restarting it some times it couldnt statrt and i had to remove the battery and retry, then one day it never started again. Now its on the HTC service centre already for 3 days. Motherboard problem i guess

This phone is pretty good. But the only thing is the sound. Ringtone song is low, music is extremely low. I'm with cricket and I get unlimited music, so the low sound coming from speakers really sucks but nothing I can do about it now.

I'm going to say this the one sv isn't a bad phone at all..there's a lot to read about the phone in a lot of reviews before you purchase it..dig a lil deeper for more info about the phone..not every person has or wants the phone for all the same needs...before I purchased the one sv I knew it was for me. I like this phone but i do NOT love it, there are things which makes this phone LIMITED IN ITS CAPABILITIES so much that will want to get rid of it right of way, for some one who's entering the smartphone world for the first time, this will be the perfect phone. but for those who already had own a smartphone like galaxy s2 or iPhone, this will be a terrible choice. speed on the phone is a lot slower when using apps, HTC ONE SV for Cricket they use Muve music unfortunate they run version 3.0 and is NOT upgradable to 4.0 and it WILL NOT BE in the future because ATT has acquired Cricket and it will kill MUVE Music. that means you are STUCK to the limit of the Micro sd card of 3gb for music and 1gb for apps/pictures/Videos.you run out of space right of way,of course you can use a larger Micro card but then your MUVE MUSIC WILL NOT WORK and that is a major drawback.another inconvenience is voice notification,you must go thru settings to clear your v-notification other ways the notifications remain like if you have Voice Mail while in fact you DO NOT have any voice mail.also another bad thing is the housing design it makes it difficult to press any of the function buttons. there are other drawbacks in this model however this are the most critical i think i should mention. i hope my feedback will help those who are planning to buy this model.

Wow I have the same issue with my htc one sv.. Iv down loaded "clean master" thinking it would help me move more ov my apps to my SD card and for a while it was doing fine then one day I noticed there was just one app that stayed on my sd card when the other's were moved to a different storage on my phone ..my memory is full so I'm putting pix & and other apps in drop box and I'm disabling apps that "clean master" ses its OK to disable and my htc starts acting weird and just isn't having it..it caused more problems so I enabled them back now I'm hear reading your review that sounds a lot like my issue that I'm having..So Now I'm writing you wondering if you found a way to resolve that problem you were having and hoping you wouldn't mind helping me 😊 ty myredbones...

I have not been able to move apps to the sd card. My internal memory is very full and it is annoying me. Photos ect can be loaded directly to sd card. I have been disabling apps that I do not use to speed it up. I have very little as far as apps on my phone. Since doing this now I can update everything so that is good. Really annoying

I am currently buying the SV and have the HTC evo 3D and it ran great for two years but now all it does is freeze up. Seems when you no longer get the OS UPDATES that is when the problems occur. Probably why the carriers say phones good for two years.

This phone sucks, high price, low res screen (with a pixel gone in 2 months), ridicoulus audio (you won't hear ringtone when the phone is in your pocket, and you have to put the speaker next to your ears to ear something from youtube), battery is good only if you support it with a really really good battery app that kills connection as often as possible, low storage space and you cannot put apps into an external SD without root... Buy Moto G, spend less and get a better phone.

Fantastic phone, by far the best buy I have ever made, its small enough to be able to hold properly, unlike the new Samsung galexys. Its fast and capable enough for emails, surfing the net, watching movies, and even playing the odd game. The LTE/4G is a fantastic feature. I use my phone throughout the day skyping, surfing the net and texting friends, and usually have 70% battery power at the end of the day, when only texting, and receiving calls it can easily last 5 days. I have had my phone for 4 months now, and dropped it twice, this phone is built SOLID, i dropped it from 2m/6ft onto concrete and not a scratch on it. I wanted to buy the Samsung s3 mini or s4 mini which both have very similar specs to the HTC one sv however the HTC was cheaper and much much more value for money. My friend dropped his s3 mini from 30cm/1ft onto a wooden floor and shattered his screen. This is a must buy!

I have the HTC One Sv for Boost mobile. At first it was the best phone i ever had. i absolutely loved it. Now im starting to have problems. Lagging, freezing, unresponsive touch screen, automatically switches my phone to speaker phone or mute, the sensor doesnt work at times, and there just many other bugs that i am starting to get. idk if its just phone defect or mine is just a defective phone.

Yup! It has BlinkFeed and you have the option to switch to BlinkFeed or normal homescreen while all settings are saved. This is a very good phone, and it will be nice if HTC will update this to kitkat.

This phone is lovely, for those of you having problems with updates, i think its probably because you people download it from random sites. For me, i automatically get update reports whenever it is available and i never have issues after updating. No major issues. The only problem I have is I can't use songs as my ringtones, I have to use the predefined tones and that's not a major issue. Asides that, the one is great.

Such a great phone,runs smoothly,android 4.2.2 with sense 5,no lag at all,no heating problems. Call quality is great,gaming perfomance-runs every heavy games like crazy taxi,dead trigger 2(graphics at Highest setting),without a sweet. Music quality with powerAMP is great,screen is really good despite spec on paper. Camera,with sharpness set to -2 in settings resaulting in good camera performance. for person that asked about battery life, i find its pretty good as long as you don't load it up with to many 3rd party apps that drain it. mine is stock with only a few custom apps like the gopro app. i get probably about a day and a half battery out of it, but i dont use it much so its asleep most of the time. haven't had any issues with it, great little phone imo.

Hey buddy em having the same problem from day one. For me it only works without sim but whenever i put simcard in it it shows the same problem and needs to be reset again to use wifi without simcard. I have heard that wifi works with simcard while NFC is turned on but never tried that. Do tell me if that works or you find any solution to this.

i agree with you about the keyboard, it always happens that when i press the space button, i always end up pressing the home button. but overall.. i am very happy of this phone. it can easily kick iphone 5 ass.. battery life is good.. it can survive a day without charging. 3 hours continous internet browsing, 1 hour gaming, 30 minutes phone call and bout 100 sms. display quality is very good.. it is even better than some other 720p display just like the acer cloud mobile. ive been using this phone for 2 months now, and i tell you that when you are seating beside somebody who is using the S3, oneSV is still more eye catchy.. this is based on experience..

Ok, so I just got this phone. The Beats audio through the headphone jack is awesome! I have a pair of Sony pro level headphones that are about 10 years old and I could not believe the awesome sound i get through them! Obviously I had not hooked my headphones up to a great source! Ok...here is my problem though...the phone advertises 8 GB of memory, but the internal memory is 1 GB, and the phone storage is 4 GB, so what happened to the other 3 GB? You can't tell me that this is all being taken up the OS and the default installed apps...no way. Any comments?

Have owned the phone appoximately 3 weeks. Mine doesn't shut down like previous poster mentioned. Apps download, install and run without incident. Battery last all day with low to average use of apps and talk time. 4G LTE lightning fast in our area (inside house) with 20M download, 8M up. (HTC EVO wouldn't see 4G in the same area (inside, but would outside), therefore receiving strength compared to others appears stronger. Screen quality appears great, but haven't compared to others side by side. (but I was use to old BB 8310 so anything would look much better to me). Overall and so far, a very functional phone that's fun to use.

Looks like, HTC will not launch this in India. this is htcs latest, almost full speced midrange phone, even better than One S which doesnt have msd slot. unlike most of the htc phones, One SV has usb port below which gives it a good appearance as well. One SV also has front cam, digital compass , gorilla glass, rear cam with flash, 8 GB internal memory. I dont understand why this phone has low popularity on gsm arena. why arent people interested in this phone? which is also the best looking phone like htc butterfly.I have been dying for this phone since its launch. not only that, i have been looking for a better speced mid range htc android for almost 3 years. i have lost my patience i dont want to spend money on other htc midrange mainly because they dont have compass and all the features like this. if htc doesnt bring this to India, i have to wait until they launch a phone like or better speced than this. if not it looks like i'll end up my life without buying a phone. I upgraded from the htc desire s which I loved and at first I was really dissapointed,the colors on the screen looked washed out,the browser sucked,games like shadowgun dead zone,while set in ultra high graphics,had a lot of hiccups. a few days ago I recieved an updated to 4.1.2 JB,and it really turned my exprience from bad to great. browsing-the browser is blazing fast,faster than the SGS3,the scrolling is butter smooth as well is the pinch to zoom gesture.double tap works great and the text resize works smooth.so browser gets 5\10 in ICS and 10\10 after JB update screen-also the image of the screen improved alot,the colors look way way better,more livable,fonts and icons looks sharper and blacks are deeper.very good drivers for the screen in 4.1.2,so screen gets 4\10 on ICS and 8\10 after JB update gaming-shadowgun dead zone,ultra high graphics ran with hiccups in ICS,with JB is butter smooth,also same story with dead trigger,hiccups with ICS,butter smooth in JB,with highest graphics settings,so gaming gets 7\10 in ICS and 9\10 after JB update. sound quality,music-I use poweramp as in my opinion beats audio in nothing more than just a gimmick,compared to my old desire S which I really loved and in my opinon is one of the best handset in terms of audio quality(forget about static tests and graphs,they only tell half the story)the bass isnt that great,it isnt deep and punchy as my old desire s(using poweramp of course,NOT stock player)treble is average and volume levels are lower,also distortion is higher,so in terms of audio quality-which hasnt changed in JB update,5\10 camera-still images-6\10,HD video recording-8\10,for ICS and JB. wifi,bluetooth and gps,in ICS the wifi took about 10 seconds to connect,in JB-3,4 seconds to my home router,great improvement,gps with 3g off using IGO my way is fast to lock,so connectivity-10\10 overall pros:blazing fast browing,great gaming performance,great GPS,great ergonomics,great bulit quality,good battery life.good HD video recording. cons:camera,sound quality is just average,beats audio is one piece of crap! 7\10 hope it helps. raymond

I have a problem when start Samsung Remote application, which I download it from Play store to control Samsung SmartTV. It says "The screen is too small." then the application just closed. Then I go to Antutu, the screen resolution is 480x728. So the screen resolution is not 480x800 as mentioned in the spec. Any suggestion to remote application for my SmartTV from this phone. Thanks

It is happen that all android v4.0.4 and above? does not have the option to move into EXTERNAL SD CARD.. its only available option is only PHONE STORAGE and INTERNAL MEMORY.. in this case.. the internal memory usually 6gb, taken from all 8gb internal.. and the rest is phone memory usage.. HOWEVER u may move ur apps to EXTERNAL SD CARD via 'root'ing ur phone.. beware that may cost ur warranty..

As far as I've tried, you can't save or move any apps to the external micro sd card (i have 32gb inside). When you download app, it saves into "internal memory" which is about 1gb, then you can move it to "phone storage" which is 4gb. But I could not see any option to move it to the ext sd card. Photos and videos you can easily set to be saved onto the ext sd card. Hope this helps, if I'm wrong, please correct me. Btw, this is an awesome phone, I'll never go back to 3g.

I don't understand HTC. One V had a 5MP camera with the same dedicated hardware to it, but it makes much better photos in terms of resolved detail and noise. Only One S beats it. One X/X+ is worse despite its 8MP camera. Why HTC puts worse cameras in higher-end models? Desire X has the same poor imaging performance as the One SV, probably the same imaging module.

I got this phone today on Virgin Australia. I was deciding between the S and SV, as the S has better camera, CPU, resolution, it's thinner etc. The only advantage of the SV seems to be the 4G/LTE. I am so glad I chose this phone!!!!!! The net is ultrafast!! I was a bit skeptical about the Optus 4G network, but it so worth it. The browsing is so fast I can't believe it. The phone is amazing, superb screen even though the resolution is a bit lower than the S. Everything works so fast and well. You'll love it.

Actually the Megapixel value is just a wank, the size and quality of the sensor is what matters most. a 55 inch HD tv can only display like 2 MP so realistically anything over 2 MP is just a waste. ever notice most DSLR cameras are only 12 MP but your phone is 8mp? Im sure that the DSLR takes pictures far better than twice the quality.

See there is nothing to worry about camera and Megapixels, more than Megapixels the quality of sensor counts, Samsung usually has a btter sensor than HTC not that HTC is bad, but HTC and Sony sensors in mobile are just average they are good it daylight but lowlight Samsung Nokia Iphone(the best),still the One SV will be a blasting alternative for the samsung galaxy s2 and xperia S, I love HTC s antenna reliable 3g connection most of the time whereas Samsung,LG,MOTO,Sony somtimes struggles to maintain connectivity.

There is a problem with HTC's thinking. The HTC One SV has 1.2GHz CPU, 1GB RAM, 5MP camera. HTC Desire SV has 1GHz CPU, 768MB RAM, 8MP camera. Dont u guys think that a phone with better specs HTC ONE SV should have had 8MP camera. The one with lesser RAM has better cam.
