This phone is outdated, but I am still using it as it is a very useful phone. It is just useful, not smart. It is a bit disappointed that it can't connect to wifi. However, it can still phone and surf the internet using data. The most important is: it is unbreakable. I drop it on the phone for 100+ times, but it never breaks, just like Nokia 3310. Now, I even show to my friend dropping my phone! Indeed, it is not a smart phone (although it's name is HTC smart), but it is certainly a good phone ti use.

My HTC Smart has the same problem, second phone of the same model I've had [the shop I bought it from would only replace] and they keep giving me the 'Oops, system error has occurred. Restarting' message. To begin with HTC claimed it was my service provider's fault, then later accepted blame but did nothing to help or offer a solution other than to factory reset it [you lose everything, unless you save to sim or the memory card]. Frankly, I've completely lost faith in HTC and would never buy from them again.

my HTC keeps freezing on me. It makes it so i cant listen to music unless i go to 'file browser' and listen to each song individually. Well, here's the solution: take out the battery, put it back, and turn the phone on... If you get really pissed-off, simply smash it against the wall, like I did to mine :) ( It's still working :)

I bought HTC Smart, and I'm definitely dissapointed in it! There are some good features, such as camera(pictures only, video lags A LOT, even if in slightly darker area than in open @ noon... Decent quality pictures(2048*1536), though...A couple of(stupid) games, no downloadable games...Slow CPU(300 MHz)... No Wi-Fi... Every couple of hours, I get the message: "Ooops! A system error has occured. Restarting" . 1st time, I waited 4 5 minutes, and nothing happened, so I took battery out... But, 4 less than $100, it's not that bad...

Good phone for the first month then went drastically downhill. Starting with the good points, HTC has defiantly thought about the design and the feel and look of the phone is awesome, the interface of the brew OS is run of the mill and looks fine and the camera seemed to work nicely with 3mp. Now the bad points. The phone is incredibly slow, sometimes takes two minuets to bring up contents or app menu (due to the slow processor), the touch screen works alright but with the phone being so slow it could take 30 seconds to register your touch (annoying if texting) the screen is low res so it makes it look a bit tacky. The battery life is laughable with the phone lasting less than 12 hours while on stand-by. The HTC smart is the worst phone I've ever used. I even had to fork out more money to buy a blackberry as I was on a two year contract. Only buy this phone if its under £1

Heh heh heh......I suggest not selling it to ANYONE. A true piece of JUNK !! If u plug the earphone in, when u plug - out, the speaker gets muted until u restart the damn phone ! Camera is good, but it needs people to stand still like a goddamn statue which is not possible especially for a child. I took at least 200 pics of my niece (2 years old), 190 of them got blurred for the movement !! ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC !!!

Nasty piece of junk! I had network problems, software problems and camera rubbish! I bought it from O2 for £40 and I thought it was a bargain. I soon realised I had been conned. The camera takes very blurred pictures if an object is moving and video is pathetic. Id put the music player on and people would look at me strange because Id have my headphones in and sound would be coming out of the speaker as well as the headphones. Id try ringing people and wouldnt connect unless I changed to 2g. When the message inbox got full then the phone slowed down badly. Awful sound sucks. I sold it just in time. Suggest you dont sell to a friend.

Worst phone ever created. Honestly do not understand how they can sell such a faulty item! The 'new phone buzz' you get everytime you get a new mobile lasted a week for me - as it broke after 8days. I have had it for a year now due to a contract, I have had it repaired 3 times and replaced with a new model. O2 finally understands and they are now replacing it with a different phone - a good phone. Do not get this phone, a brick Nokia would be a better option. Hope this helps

To be honest, it's a "D U M B" phone. :( I purchased this phone on November 29, 2011 and since then, it's been a headache to me.....I'm from Bangladesh and I use 2 connections (GrameenPhone and Robi - which was previously known as Aktel). I used Robi sim on my HTC Smart....it went well for first 3 days, in the 4th day, I found that my phone's on but no one could reach me !! I checked the phone & found it ON!! I restarted the phone and the phone became ok. But this problem went back again and again with irregular intervals. I searched the web for the firmware update, downloaded it from HTC website, but the update couldn't be installed ! I inserted GrameenPhone SIM then, it didn't show any problem and ran well. The other thing is, One day, I inserted the headphone (obviously original one from HTC) for listening to music. After listening, I (gently) pulled off the jack, after that the phone's earpiece stopped working !! This problem was gone when I restarted the phone. NOW MY QUESTION IS....how many times will I have to restart my cell?? Why is Robi SIM not working on this Set??? I've got rid of that phone giving it to my wife and she's using it with GrameenPhone (as she says it takes great pictures at least, so don't sell it away, if u sell it, u may have got curses from people!!)

HTC Smart is not an android phone, it rather uses Brew Mobile and is java enabled. So if u want whatsApp, go for WhatsApp.jar app anything other than java jvme cannot work with it.

I am using this phone from 10 month. From my exprience dont buy this phone bcoz it has no you tube player, worst battery back up, it has also memory problem...my phone memory does not contain any file or any things but phone is always showing memory full.....this problem is still after 4 time software update, also hang problem, this phone does not play mp4 video very good (it has frame loss), music player has no equiliser.

I've been using this phone since 8 months. Value for money is there. Not a great phone but every specs average in this price range. For battery issue, just turn off all GPRS related options like automatic weather updation and all. 1.5 days charge will be there.

Hi Mandy In the specs is written the OS=Operating system is Brew. in other word nothing to do with symbian, android or any of those. Brew is a different phone operating system.

It restarts a lot, also is very slow. Freezes and would then restart. Not great. Camera good and Video Recorder could be improved. I wouldn't recommend this exact HTC phone. Try a different one. I was dissapointed when I got it. Thought it would be better.

If your going to get a HTC android device don't get this one, it's flimsy & despite HTC being absolutely amazing, this doesn't reflect the company, they wanted to make a cheap smartphone, so they did. If your budget is this low you'd be better buying a Samsung jet. If your going for a smart phone, go expensive, because if you go cheap, it's not going to be worth it. The spec's and other comments on this phone made me feel pretty confident with my purchase... and I was for the first few months but now the touchscreen reaction time is at an all time low and the battery is the worst I have ever experienced an overnight charge with keep the phone on for around about 6 hours and thats only sending a few texts and maybe a phonecall. Horrific. More negative features are - not being able to zoom in on photographs which you have taken, internet connention is slow and sometimes doesn't even connect even when in a 3G area, the friend stream is pointless as the phone hardly connects to the internet... i'm moving to a blackberry to get away from this nightmare phone!

To be true enuf at first i ws using Lg KP 500, also known as Cookie..i found it better than HTC smart. I have been using ths htc 4m past 6 mnths approx...At an initial stage i found to b the best fone bt later i found out that it has only gud touchscreen better and smoother than ny other fone bt once once u start filling ths fone with contacts and msgs...the fne becums slow n starts hanging. Sumtimes it so happens that if u disconnect a call, the ringtone keeps on going and u have to switch off the fne then. Guys HTC smart is a another name for HELL...So dnt purchase it. The only benefit it has is its economical and gud touch.

I agree man.. this phone is below par, performance wise. Opening messages is unacceptable.. takes like.. 4 seconds or something, or even more. Highly disappointed in the features.. I had to download third party j2me apps to have the slightest of fun. Only three crap games. Very few features. Not even a notepad. Video is crap (15 fps, super slow, like being on a lagging PC), useless. The ONLY benefit I got from it, was converting HD videos to 320x240 and watching them on it. Those look quite good and don't lag if converted to the right bitrate (298 Kbps video because the poor CPU can't handle it). Sigh.

I got this phone a few months ago, purchased at £100. The first few days, it was ok. Nothing more nothing less. As the weeks went on it started to crash, go super slow, and ahh non stop havick. Generally, this phone is AEFUL. My mum's £10 phone is 10x and over better than this! no exageration. Its so unbelievably slow, its ridiculous. It takes up to TWO MINUTES TO REPLY TO MESSAGE WHEN YOU PRESS THE "REPLY" BUTTON. Thats only the half of it, when your calling someone it will say "phoning..." and then it will crash for about 20 seconds. EVERY time. This isnt just my phone, I've looked at a lot of other reviews about this mobile and there all very similar with identical problems. It may look nice, but its REALLY not worth it. TRUST me!

If u use phone browser then phone memory start decreasing. 3. We can't download or receive file in memory card. 4. It's available phone memory is only 70 mb when you buy this phone 5. To start with good features,camera,touchscreen,music are above average.But as everyone's desire to get more than what u pay for there are few backlogs.While browsing the touchscreen irks u a lot.It doesn't support YouTube,office files and the list goes on.The error message for restart has occurred thrice in a months usage.It's ironic that they call it HTC SMART.To conclude as I have said before about the desire to get more..I think I have expected a lot.It is a very good phone for the price I have paid except that they could have gone that extra mile for few basic things.

Any one having problems with the mobile hnging and restarting and memory card support should get theur ssoftware reinstalled from htc service. I used to have the same problems but they stopped after i got the newer version of the software. They also added a Backup which allows you backup all your contacts, sms and settings to be backed up to your memory card.

This is my personal opinion, This phone does what its intended to do and does it perfectly well. Audio is clear and good, Videos are good, Good Widgets, GUI looks great, Good presentation and lots more.... on the whole good value for money, for Rs: 6700/= i cannot expect Apple Iphone or Adriod based phones, This is good. Negatives: Brew OS doesn't have many games or Apps available on the web. Video player has few issues, the video seek bar or progress bar doesn't show video more than ~40mins of play, The mobile switches off automatically while watching videos, for reason unknown. Camera may be a issue, coz its a fixed focus rather than a auto focus.

This is a very good phone. So far it has served me well. Everything that I need is featured int his phone. It is the simpliest way to get connected. Every phone has a feature fit to its user. My personal experience with HTC smart and other facts. Handset- Good Quality materials plus best build quality compared to nokia and samsung (got 5800 and samsung star/omnia 2 i8000) so far this is has solid feel not plastic type and Htc smart screen is made of glass communication/signal/voice quality - ok clear signal compared to my previous nokia fone voice quality and volume are high and clear got good reception than my other fone in critical low signal places Battery- heavy use 1 and a half day (sms,call,internet,sounds,video playback) moderate use 2days to 3 days (call and sms) light use 4days (sms standby) tips to save battery 1. lower down the brightness to 3 2.turn off keypad vibrate 3. change network to GSM not automatic (under settings mobile network settings) the camera has zoom just go to settings and lower the resolution to 2megapixel or 640x480 to extend the zooming level. downloaded some games from mobile9 and updated the latest ROM. if you want a simple and stylish touch screen fone and has a good quality built buy this. if your looking for feature rich fone buy iphone or nokia n8. i have this fone for 3months still im not experiencing any lags and hangs like others are claiming.

If you've read the manual, you'll know that you cannot zoom if you're using the max resolution for taking pics. Go down to 2mp or lower and you'll be able to do a zoom.

I had a problem with the earpiece of the phone. I tried to have the handset replaced but the told that its already 9 days with and they cannot do anything but have it repaired and it will take more than a week for me to get it back. Its obvious that its defective. why dont they replace it.

This one is good, but the bad part is doesnt have much features on the customization part. Like on contacts, profile customization. Something strange is when i inserted my Memory card its not getting detected and i want to change ringtones,listen to music from the SD card but its not getting detected at all no matter how many ever times you remove it and re-insert it. Very strange one.

Thanks for posting this message. I downloaded the ROM update yesterday and this morning i found the battery problem on my phone is going! These days i need to recharge my phone nearly twice a day with really a poor battery performance!And i also noticed that it seemed to have a antena problem as the searching icon on the right corner shown...anyway it's all gone now. Hey firends, if you do not just want to throw this phone away, you could try to update the ROM at HTC offical website. I am glad to have my phone back to normal again.

hello there..after ur successful upgrade, you still need to do some certain compromises, like turning OFF: 1. weather updates 2. automatic time update(you set it to manual) 3. facebook/twitter/etc updates 4. location service update..etc..(less or unimportant stuffs) -You should also adjust your display settings- your brightness should be at level 3 only,or lesser if you can manage -Turn off all vibrations -minimize ringing volume. ***my battery can last up to 5 days on the average,7 days if i dont play with it and just use it for text messaging and some minor calls, but 2-3 days if i use a lot of the apps, esp games and mp3 I have loaded up my sd card with a lot of files apps and games but still workin properly and efficiently..

you dont have to pay for anything.. you just have to download the rom upgrade to your computer from , follow the steps and connect your phone to your pc.make sure you have also downloaded the htc sync...it's free.

i have read a lot of BAD comments for this phone.. let me tell you, almost all of your experiences(bad & good) i have already encountered... i had a very short battery life, cant read my sd card, slow loading, not a user friendly interface, etc... I TOOK THE RISK OF UPGRADING THE ROM,AS WHAT I HAVE READ FROM AN HTC SMART OWNER, AND ALL THOSE BATTERY AND SD CARD PROBLEMS WERE GONE!!!!!! BELIEVE ME!!!! I almost gave up and already decided to sell this phone, but now i am begginning to LoVe it..now, i can conclude that its only weakness is: IT IS NOT WI-FI READY.. its not a bad phone as long as u know how to use it. before, i thought it really was..but by upgrading the rom using my PC, it solved all my problems.:) I Stongly suggest this phone only to those SMART people, who thinks wifi is not really important,and are computer literate,with a great amount of common sense.

The Phone is really sleek. The design itself helps the phone stand out. The screen is a bit of a downer (resistive) since I'm used to a capacitive screen (X6) but is responsive nonetheless. Menu transitions are fast and there's no lag whatsoever. HTC Sense UI is great and the Social Network integration is absolutely fantastic. Web browsing sucks. Even Opera Mini can't save it! Well... that's all cons I could find with it. IMPORTANT: Keep in mind that this is in no way a FULL FLEDGED SMARTPHONE. It is not targeted at those who want the features of a Smartphone but rather those who want a SIMPLE phone which can do most of the basic tasks. So decide carefully before you buy it!

great htc sense i have used the phone for 8 months im very much delighted but have few suggestions to htc makers for upcoming models in htc , pls improve the battery life which is the significant factor in a phone. sound output can be much louder, missed calls have to be deleted orelse ur phone keeps blinking a signal till u delete them its quite uncomfortable, fm radio needs to be louder as i used an external speaker everytime as the sound was too low. best about the phone is great clarity great touch experience and excellent design of the phone ur torch is amazing, very user friendly options, convinient shortcut slide displays very much satisfied apart from few drawbacks i hope u concentrate on the mantioned putups for ur next phone. overall htc smart is QUITELY BRILLIANT WITH GREAT htc SENSE.

@ sunny go to messages settings, then turn off delivery reports..that should solve your problem.. anyway, just bought this phone here in manila.. here's my take about this phone : + execellent build quality (doesnt look cheap at all) + outstanding music quality over the headset + good speaker (though not that loud) + very easy to use + strong flass/flashlight + battery life is actually good (dont know why a lot of people are complaining about it, here's some tips - you have to turn off internet connections coz it constantly updates the stupid weather, change network setting to GSM only, & lessen the screen brightness; your phone should last 2-3 days of average use) - cant play high resolution videos - cant open high resolution photos havent tried the browser coz the screen (low resolution, small size) is not fit for that.. I bought it for P8k ($186.00) which is a bargain, better than my previous Nokia Symbian Phone.

HTC Smart is not a Bad Phone.It's just more complicated than the usual interface u get from other brands. it is not very user friendly, so if u dont know how to operate it ul probably think its a worthless phone. i like the os and the design.it looks very sophisticated and stylish.camera is very good, mp3 is cool. you just nid to modify the settings to make ur batt life longer by dimming ur lights and turning of vibration. display is very very good. looks like a very expensive phone. know the phone first before you judge it.

@Agnees You can find the details in HTC website.Download the full manual.Everything is there. @others I don't think battery is so bad as i am taking more than 1 and half days and even sometimes more than two days.Remeber its name is smart. you need to be smart to handle.Just close all hidden applications as it is severly down your battery with out having any necesity.

dear all, dont dare to bue it, very worst mobile i have seen, it shows all features in paper not in real time, it is not supporting any banking java applications,even some others also, it is not playing mp4 ... any videos , only .3gp is playing in the middle of the screen only, and BATTERY backup too bad, it will hang sometimes, coordination between phone and external memory is not always good.......... better dont be fool by seeing less price....

bought HTC SMART few days back. If anyone plan to buy this mobile, I STRONGLY RECOMMEND them NOT to buy this phone. This is a useless moile developed by HTC. Disadvantages are more than its advantages when coming to its features. 1. poor battery life. 2. Very poor internet browsing 3. Cant switch to other audio and video songs when they are stored in a SD card. The next/previous buttons gets disabled when I play the song from SD CARD. 4. The player can only play limited video versions. Infact only two versions(MP4 and 3GP). 5. Phone restarts for no reason. This is most frustrating.. If anyone from HTC see this review comment. pls. take this on a positive note and try to fix the above issues. One thing I want to tell you HTC. This is a FU**KING MOBILE you had ever developed.. Lastly, HTC people are smart enough to fool innocent people and loot their money. And hence the same HTC Smart I think

I am also an owner of this HTC smart phone. Although battery is not an issue but the screen has shown the signs of problem within the purchase of one month. Its appearance is getting dim day by day and after charging it gets darker and darker. Now its screen light is also fluctuating. This is all after one month only when I even put my handset with much care. HTC must recall all the faulty handsets.

if you want to tansfer your pics to to the pc , than its panic. first thing is that your mobile dont have mobile sharing option... so either you have to use bluetooth.. or transfer the pics to the memory card than access through them in your pc.

Got some problems with the HTC Smart "freezing" that is I can't turn it off or on. I can't change any settings. It becomes "dead". If I remove the battery and put it back the camera works again. I am also very disturbed with the worst performance of battery. All the good things of this phone is destroyed by this useless battery.

If you are an Indian customer then on HTC India site go to Support and select HTC smart model. You will find ROM upgrade option. Upgrade ROM to version 95739 if it is not on that version. The steps for upgrade are there on the site.

How I will go to my office and talk to people over phone when the battery goes down after 3 to 4 calls. Is it possible to give charge standing on the road ? the battery doesnt last long. ....the battery is rubbish,i have it on charge all the day. ridiculously hard to use, no way of downloading extra stuff - this is NOT a smart phone despite its name. you have to connect to the internet to download picture messages which dependent on contract is VEY expensive, there's no easy menu, the widgets are limited and the box doesn't even have a full instruction manual - you have to download it.

This is the most useless phone and also HTC is not bothered about updating the software as if the buyers are to suffer with the model. The Text messaging takes years to load. If i want to reply to a message using my old sony erickson, i would have been able to do it in less than a few seconds and would have already sent the message. If i try to reply using HTC smart, I have to pray to god and also wait for ages for the reply context to appear. It might appear. Or if it delays for too long, then the backlit display will turn off to power saving and again, i have to press the power button and scroll the arrow to unlock and then wait for a minute for the screen to come up and then hope that the �Sorry for inconvenience, phone is re-starting or some crap� message does not appear and then wait for the messages to load which might take a couple of minutes. All this made my friends feel that i`m lazy to reply and eventually led me to losing some really good friends! Besides that, there is no Wi-fi and The bluetooth is USELESS as i can`t transfer files between my laptop and phone. The battery is worst than garbage. No talktime. No standby . All the day I have to charge it. Recently, the USB cable is giving tons of problems� I would blame the phone instead of the poor cable. I have to re-plug the cable tons of times for my laptop to recognize that there is a device� I`m not buying HTC anymore� This is the last and final, unless they can really impress me with a really good software update. Otherwise, GOODBYE HTC!.

HTc smart is a bad phone. It will not support YOUtube videos. Zooming option is only for video recording. We cannot change themes more than the phone contains(only 3 themes are in this phone). No Wifi,GPS. No motion sensor. No hand writtings. The battery back up worst. I charge it 3 times in a day. If I do not use it at all,the battery goes down within one hour. Nasty phone. To all those who are facing battery backup problems - If you have not upgraded your ROM which is available on htc site you will certainly have this problem. The problem is all the more prominent if you are using SD card. Higher the capacity severe the problem as in if you have 4GB SD card then your phone might hardly last for a day with old ROM version with hardly any usage. My suggestion is please upgrade your ROM and see if the problem still exists or not.

Hi PL2, have u ever used this phone ? I can say with comfidence that u have not yet touched the phone, only saw in picture. The looks are not only the criteria. The capability and durability are most important factors. The HTC Smart is the worst phone, inferior to Chinese phone. (i)The battery is poor. U have to charge it all day long to receive calls or to send messages. ((ii) It freezes. U will have to open the back panel to pull out the battery any time of the day. (iii) It has no wi-fi. (iv)Browsing is too much slow. It is not so cheap relating to it's performance. Nokia 5230, 5235, 5530 are the better phones within same price range.

I bought this mobile 2 months ago. The first piece I got just wold not allow me to dial out. It would dial and cut off within a second. The dealer immediately changed the piece with a new one. While it looks and feels fine the battery life is terrible. Sometimes in 3 hours time with hardly any usage the battery is low. Also there are no applications for this phone since the operating system is Brew and it's new. SO it's quite a bore. Very hard to go to the number or person you want to call since you take time scrolling and the search function does not help. The camera is great but has no zoom function. No shop in Colombo, Sri Lanka was willing to buy back the phone from me even though it was not even opened and still sealed. On the whole I am very disappointed with HTC Smart... it's not the smartest mobile around.

From gsmarena and all other websites, I knew that the talktime is 7.5 hours (2g). But I got worst kind of battery back up. Hi,i just got this phone about 4 wks back and am a bit dissapointed. the OS is too slow, so i downloaded opera mini. even wth opera mini cant view youtube videos; opera mini says should download the "signed version" yet the phone cant download stuffs, keeps saying "file not in supported format". it didnt come wth a manual so i downloaded the manual & saved in the SD card and then, it doesnt have pdf reader & quite a lot of other applications which exist in ordinary nokia E65. i would like to download applications that can work on this Brew OS such as pdf reader, players, quick office & view youtube. There is nothing smart abt the phone, the only thing i do well is facebook. it should be called HTC Facebook. Pls Help!!!

The reply to several of you who asked. 1. disconnect yr charge cable from the electricity plug and insert the same to appropriate USB entrance on yr computer and the second end to yr phone. 2.buy mini card(cca 5 US $)and insert it in yr phone by opening back cover.In the settings on yr phone go to USB to PC and press mount SD card. 3.on yr computer download " HTC Sync for BrewMP". yr computer will recognize SD card as removable disk E.you download the staff from yr computer to that disk and you will get it to yr phone.Opposite frm yr phone to computer (exml. camera shot)tap on camera shot than go to meni(first under the screen)press more and choose to "copy to album" and it will arrive on yr computer which will ask you what you want to do with that image.You could choose to view it or download it or sand it by mail. I have bought this mobile few days back. Pros : Touch screen is surprisingly fast. 3.2 MP camera is satisfactory with lot of clarity in photos. Ultimate look since a lot of metal and metal like things are used for making the body. 7 home screens available where u can add quick contacts on 1 screen and frequently used applications on another screen, All the photo and video collections on the 3rd screen etc. Easy moving from 1 screen to other. Music player speaker is good. Cons: Battery backup is low (U have to recharge for every 2 days or so if you are watching a lot of videos.) FM radio comes with very less sound. Video capturing of any moving object(even slow moving) is useless as u won't get any clarity in the video. On screen QWERTY keypad has small buttons and hence difficult to type. Back panel has to opened for inserting micro SD. I don't browse much on mobiles and hence no comments on browsing.

You can disable it from data services in settings, both whether and my location.

Just go to call history. Use the menu button (small button) which will give you view and delete option. Either you can delete all call history from here or go to view and then you will have all incoming, outgoing, missed call history. You can delete specifics from here using the small menu button.

I took HTC smart b4 2 weeeks its nice fone bt sometimes ma fone will automatically goin on silent mode means lyk the output speaker is not working & ringing... it has 256MB RAM n ROM so performance would be bettr bt not that much good... in advertise showing inbuilt memory is 256MB bt in reality its 172MB main thing is that its dont hv INTERNET SHARING option so we couldn't use this fone as a modem.....

Hey seems the ROM upgrade has done the trick. My phone is not getting drained just like it used to. Although I lost all my contacts with upgrade but it doesnt matter as long as my battery issue gets sorted out. Will keep posting if it reappears. But so far no signs.

Sound is decent. But be aware that u'll find very difficult to find a sweet spot, sometimes sound will be too high for a level and one notch down will be too less. Nothing great about the music. u don get any equalizers either.

well frnds... i am also a smart user.. it is a really decent phone with a battery prob... my phone never get restart as stated above by different users.. u jst need to update ur rom version from htc website and after that it wil work fine. sound quality is very gud and restore and backup feature is also very gud so that u will ever going to lost ur valuable data.. even sms also. u cant get every thig under 7.5 k tab. it is way better than nokia as nokia is quite slow.

F3188 is the worst phone I have used till date, I am using cellphone since 1997, since then I have used Erricson, Nokia, Sony, Nokia, LG, again Nokia, Samsung,and now HTC since 35 Days now. But I swear by NOKIA now, each time I shifted from Nokia I was dissapointed, and Nokia handsets I could use more than 2 years, but other I shifted very early. This handset I bought as I HTC but am VASTLY dissapointed. I dont reccomend any body to buy this handset, Just go in for any NOKIA and you are assured. This phone is having a worst battery i have ever seen. I mean if you put the SD card (mine is 4GB) and the phone switches off by the end of the day with just normal use. By that i mean no music, no net surfing and only calls. Thats it. But if you remove the card and it works for longer duration. But my point is whats the use of a phone with only 200MB of internal memory who just virtually supports SD card and not in reality. I am fed up with this phone just withing 10 days.

Why your battery is getting down means? i feel that when u switch on your camera . but there no option to switch off.. so the battery getting down.. so go for factory reset then type 1234 and then you can stop your camera to switch off.. then dont use camera.. so you will get nice battery life ok.. while at urgent use the camera.. now u can save your battery life..

It is not Android. It is a budget handset. You cannot expect high end features like smooth playback of any video type and massive app support on a budget. Either save for a high end handset or expect nothing more than a nice looking touch screen phone that has software issues. Android, Symbian and iOS are the better OSes right now so bugs are ironed out quicker on them.

Guy, i bought this phone more then a month ago. I bought as it is "HTC". The thing is that it is wirst phone i have ever had in my life. Within 2 weeks, its has been gone to service center twice. Well, some of its worst features are as follows - 1. You can't do any thing while video streaming, just can expand the screen. 2. No media equalizer in music player. 3. hangs every time i operates it. 4. A very poor browser, cannot support multipl streams. 5. No type and find track system, you have to scroll down the whole list of tracks to play a selected one. 6. Software corruption is daily like problem. My phone has gone to service center twice due to this problem only. There are many more problem which i am not able to memorize because my phone is still at service center from last 2 days. Bottom Line - If you have lots of waste money and want to experience worst cell phone, then go for this phone.

I advise to every.. plz plz never buy this phone, it is completely waste of money. I purchase 3 weeks before and experienced so many issue even after ROM update available from HTC commercial site. 1. sometime it hang and restarting auto. I noticed this at charging time, when dealing with contacts, watching video songs. 2. No proper management of call history 3. No equalizer in music player 4. Low Battery issue 5. Sometime phone not ringing, not buzz, no sound in play music even with full phone volume, meida volume and alarm volume. you have to restart phone. I will never purchase any HTC phone again.

I experience some points which are missing in this phone are � Calendar does not support recurring events, no method to store birthday kind of events � If I set picture in a contact, no method to remove only change of image is possible � Phone browser does not support many formats so this facility is a waste. � Java applications makes phone slow and drain battery so again waste. � Many times while surfing over internet browser will give unreported exception and mobile will restart. � Battery of mobile is week compare to other HTC handsets. � No customized ringtone for contacts. � Even more no app store only java midlet applications are available which makes handset slower � Except user interface everything in this handset is waste of money I made. I brought the phone because of the tag mark of HTC. I lost my faith on HTC. Friend never ever think to bye this phone.

Hi All.. its nice mobile. sound via ear phones/loud speaker is outstanding.u can feel that u r in a imax theater.i compared with Sony w995 also,smart is far better. camera quality is also good. video also looks good. u can't zoom while taking snaps, but u can zoom it after taking snaps. flash is there. if u see any movie in this mobile, immediately u will buy this mobile. msging is also super-fast. even internet also very fast but u need to install opera mini browser. battery life also quiet impressive.and only thing is that u will get ur all basic requirements in this mobile at excellent quality. but lacks of voice recorder, we have search for supported apps.. hardly we will get. through USB can transfer files etc.. no need of any PC suite. for synchronization of outlook contacts, phone book u need to install HTC sync overall Smart is best choice for people, searching good mobile at 7 to 8k.. and u have limited good options to take sony naite, nokia 7230, samsung s5200 in range of 6k if u dnt want touch screen. thank u..

Have had this phone for a moth now and it sucks. Sorry HTC, you failed this time. Not very smart for a supposed smartphone. Multiple apps open at once? Sure! Except it can't. Isn't that one of the premises for it to qualify as a smartphone? The touch is somewhat slow as is the loading of messages. No downloadable app support either. Maybe should they should have waited for the Brew OS to have an app store or something. I'd rather suggest the Samsung star or Nokia 5530/5230. Similar prices, better function. Will be moving to the iPhone ASAP!!

not that bad of a phone. i only had it for a day so far and its been okay. all i found that was a little annoying was loading of the messages took awhile...a little sluggish there... besides that the touchscreen is pretty good and responsive. just lagging when using friends stream too. listening to music is pretty good. the earphones are respectable, the ones that come with it. the internet browser seemed at little mediocre. doenst really have a video player which is kinda stupid. but looking through photos is good. pretty good phone. think it is better than nokia 5233

hi bro i got this phone for 7750 from mumbai...the phone is really good for the money but u need to forget about d applications.u can install very few java apps 240x320...it has a nice camera with excellent led flash light...nice sound quality with fm radio...touch screen response is good...7 home screen...nice weather application and 9 favorite cotacts with their photos...so overall a nice decent phone better than nokia phones which u mentioned.

It's one of the best phones if maintained.Sound quality is absolutely unbeatable at this price. Tips: Firstly,charge the phone in switch off mode for the first week or so. Wow my friend bought this phone yesterday and were really pissed off!!!!! Brew mobile lives to its name its black coffee in the trash! First when you insert a memory card the whole loading process takes out the whole battery charge! I work in a phone shop and i was extremely happy to see that HTC had not forgotten the 'little people'. The high end high spec phones are all well and good for alot of people in this world, but there was a serious hole in the market which was screaming out for a affordable not crazy techy touchsceen phone. I've spent the last few days playing with and messing around with the in store model of the phone and i cnt fault it really. The quality of the software offered by HTC does not differ so greatly from the Tatoo or Hero but thankfully is nearly half the cost. Gold Star to the HTC guys for this one.

I had purchased this handset a month ago and ever since has been lying at the service centre bcos of Network failure and Battery malfunction. I got a replacement and I was happy . The company people said that there was a problem with the earlier handset- I had already got the software update done for it atleast 3 times . But again the new handset also had the same problems .As advised by the service centre - I got my SIM changed but to no avail. So Beware . It is a cheap Smartphone with features that would make u feel that u should instead have purchased some other phone- each time u handle it. The FM sound is so low - u have to b in a soundproof room to hear it well .

HTC smart is good set in terms of user interface but when it comes to applications there are not much options, all you can do is install Java applications which you can even install in basic Nokia Phones. Other than the applications issue HTC Smart is a worth of money. In am same price you can find Samsumg monte with additional features like Wifi & GPS but HTC is HTC. I hope in coming few weeks we will be able to see some good applications for brew OS on which HTC smart runs, like flash player, office document viewer..........

It does not have qwerty physical keyboard, but only virtual. It has normal numpad in portrait mode, or you can switch it to side and use landscape qwerty virtual keyboard. It is not as fast as physical keyboard but it does the job for 4 (of 5)

Had this for a few weeks now, £100 on o2 pay as you go in the UK, now it's down to £90. Great for the price, quite slow at times but that's the case with most phones in this price range. User interface is probably the best I've used on a phone, will be sticking with HTC in the future from this experience.

Just had a play around with the phone, seems good to start with, camera is good quality for its pixels and touch reponsive is good. does concern me that you cant view streming on it, not a function i need but for the extra affort or cost it would be worth it to make it stand out above the rest in the price range. hey guys, I have been using this phone for i guess a week now i got to admit that all the rumors stating that the phone it useless because it has brew os in it are completely fake.The user experience is very good and trust me guys i have used phones of all the leading manufactures.The only one downpoint is the brew being a new os dosent have many apps to its name but i have heard that many apps are due to be launched for the os in a couple of months.And i almost forgot the one thing the phone needs is a improvement in its cameras software as it dosent host any basic or advance tools for both photos and videos

hello Friends, Have been using this phone for the last 3 days. Was using a Nokia E71 prior to this for 8 months and god knows the number of times i have cursed the crap that Nokia makes in the name of phones now. They just make a new model and get it into the market while we customers are the guinea pigs on whom the experiments are done. Gradually thru trial and error the software is updated. No wonder Nokia is losing its market share. My phone used to hang frequently, plus so many complaints from my friends, clients that my phone is switched off. Another problem I faced regularly was when i answered a call and it never connected (i mean the phone just got hung). Getting all fed up i just wanted a phone with only 3 things..good call quality, network signal pickup, battery life. I dont want anything else.I mean isnt that what a phone is supposed to do first and foremost?? The HTC Smart is my first experienece with a touch phone, plus the HTC brand. And its been satisfying for the 3 days that i hv been using it. Took a couple of times getting used to it, but i kinda like it and I think it will grow on me. The battery life seems nice, i charged it fully yesterday morning and after ummmmmm 30 hours it still has 50 percent battery left. I get maybe 15-20 calls per day averaging 2 minutes each. So i guess the battery is decent enough. I just hope it doesnt ditch me like the bloody Nokia !!! Regards to all!!

Any phone got to do with HTC or Windows OS = D I S A S T E R. I hate Windows OS phone because of it's unstable. I swear I will never buy and will continue to discourage people from buying HTC because of it's flaw design. My warranty was void just because I was told my phone got contact with water and that the sticker color changes to pink (indicate that water been in contact) Can you imagine that you can actually see the sticker inside the housing by removing the battery!! OF Coz moisture seep in!!

For all reviews I have been reading about HTC smart is that reception of signal is excellent, sound is clear, and this is what is every one of us expect when using mobile phone. All other is about what any of us want from mobile phone we use. Surfing internet? Thanks, but on go I use my netbook, lightweight and much comfortable then loosing eyes on 3� screen. Same for Wi-Fi, in office I already have desktop, as well at home, 22�. For pictures here is slim pocket digital cam with 3x optical � so cam in phone is for.... I use it just to see how it's look like... Radio, music player � ok, for some time waiting something somewhere to kill the time. I'm sure that here around we can find something better for this price regarding mobile phone adds and apps, but HTC offer HTC Sense for all others. And for me this lovely weather screens, not a reason for buying mobile phone but HTC knows what I love. Just nice looking cheap simple phone for simple people like me with ordinary functions on 2,8� screen, without tendency to �skip away� when operating with one hand.

However when you are on the internet or messaging if you press the little hardware key underneath and to the left of the HTC logo, you are presented with an option to change from portait to landscape. The setting remains until you change it next time.

Hi all,just got this phone for my 12yrs old daughter who have choose just for the colours,touchscreen,basically knows nothing instead of Nokia 5800 Xpress which I recommended.The reason,not to have the same phone with the brother.The Brew Os is a pilot platform that HTC buy from Qualcomm just to see how is the process works and stability.For those phone geek,this is not for you.Htc Hd2 is the best phone ever which supported by xda developer,to give such a huge applications to the phone.It beats the IPHONE! .Im glad to have one for myself.Whenever I see people using the IPHONE,I feel sorry for them as they just follow others blindly and not really understand,as HTC says '"The Phone gets you"

Good screen resolution. Light weight, good design, good sound clarity, camera ok. Does`nt play MP4 format, Dont have apps available for download, cant figure out where to adjust equalizer, no widgets option. Overall thumbs down for this phone.

The only turn off with this device would be wifi , which is easily present on most samsung and lg devices with 8k range . But again after using HTC gene for 2 yrs , I love HTC and windows mobile . Brew brings with itself a much faster interface hopefully , so that should be the catch of the device

People DONT get decieted by the Brand's name. Unlike the other HTC devices which run on Android or Win-Mo this is BREW, there's not much applications available for this OS and the user experience is not in the good opinion. Just don't go by its price and brand, look for the OS which is the major downside of this phone. I will seldom recommend this phone to anyone.

I don't get what all of you are crying. For the price you'd for this phone, the specs are great, and it's a good thing that HTC tries to break out on the low-end market. I live in Finland, and the phones here are quite expensive (at least considering my budget). Comparing HTC Smart to other phones it'll compete against, it beats (almost) them all. Samsung Corby doesn't have even3G. They don't even sell S5320 Wi-Fi here. All other phones of this price category miss either 3G or QWERTY-keyboard, which are the two biggest things I'd want from a phone of this price category. Yeah, these new Nokia's might be better overall, but I want to try something new, and in addition i haven't enjoyed Nokia's low-end touchscreen phones. If this will get good reviews, this is gonna be my no1 choice for my next phone.

seems like a nice phone, too bad the price isn't competitive in comparison to the lg cookie, samsung corby/star. HTC Smart will cost �169 back here while the star wifi goes at �149. I am however looking forward to testing the new OS but I'll stick to my Samsung Jet just a bit longer.

The processor is too low?! Do you even know anything about brew mobile? 300 MHz is more than enough to use this OS. A faster processor would mean lower baterry life. I like it, it seems very efficient.

I completely disagree with previous comments. If priced compitatively to Samsung Star & Cookie, for sure, this is gonna be a big hit in indian market. After all this is a category where Wifi/GPS are not expected. However missing radio option is a concern or is this an another glitch in specifications by gsmarea ;-)
