To quickly get airplane mode, press the on/off-button at the top for a few seconds. You will get a menu (without a need for login), where you can select airplane mode besides "quiet", "reset" and "shutdown". NOTE: To return from airplane mode, you must know your SIM-PIN. You can also activate airplane mode (or deactivate WIFI / mobile) in the settings under "wireless & networks". If you want just WIFI, but no mobile network connection, you can chose airplane mode, and reactivate WIFI after that in the settings ("wireless & networks" -> check WIFI).

Five years ago I bought it, and I still use it. I upgraded to Android 2.3.5, that's all you can get with it. Due to very limited space, many applications cannot be installed, e.g WhatsApp or Skype is impossible to install, but as a simple mobile phone, MP3 player and for occasional internet access, camera or location determination via GPS / Google Maps, it is still OK. Also, battery still lasts quite long (up to several days with occasional use). I paid about 100€ in 2011, and don't regret it. I wouldn't buy it nowadays, for development didn't stop, and you can get much more for same money today.

Yes but it has very little internal memory and Whatsapp can't be installed on the SD card. I had to delete lots of the files that I got/sent through Whatsapp and even delete Whatsapp several times because of the lack of space. You can get much better phones nowadays.

You still MUST have most apps on internal storage and if you move apps that are movable they still take some Mbytes in internal so don't play the smart one without experience on this cheap phone

This phone is pretty ok on general and for the price it's all u can expect BUT.. after time random things stop working.. I purchased the phone back in February '12 since that time I now have to send it back for replacement a second time! Back then the Bluetooth antenna and digitizer stopped working.. Now I have the phone well for 5 months again and my GPS antenna doesn't work 2 weeks alredy and a week ago the SD-Card slot stopped working.. it overheats after a minute with the SD-Card in and does't recognize the card.. NEVER GONNA BUY A HUAWEI PHONE AGAIN!

Personally I hate this phone. It constantly fails to hang up, keeps telling me there is no memory for apps although my SD card is practically empty, and I transferred over as much stuff as possible. slow downloading, fails to sync, screen freezes, generally just a pain in the rear.

I disagree with some of comments. I find the ringer volume perfectly adequate as is the message alerts,alarm and all notification see. In fact much easier to hear than my HTC sensation, where I repeatedly miss text and email alerts. As for headphones I agree ones supplied not up to much but then neither is my HTC sensations or other high end phones I have owned. It's fine with decent headphones.

This phone is great but the headphone jack isn't good. Whenever I play music with headphones, all I can hear is the music but no voices. My friend has the same phone and the same problem. The battery life isn't so great and neither is the camera. Other than that, it's a decent phone. :)

have to agree the battery life is ot that great but neither is the sound quality...U need to have execellent hearing to hear this phone otherwise you would hardly know it was ringing or if you got a text message. Definetely get the Xperia Tipo, it has a stronger processor, a processor that allows you to do video calls on skype (you need 800MHz or more for that) and it has ICS wich is great, it also costs just a little more than the Ideos X3(Ideos X3 84� on german amazon | Xperia Tipo 109� on german amazon), it has 2x more RAM and 2.5GB internal storage, Ideos X3 is bad with that... both have a MicroSD slot for up to 32GB, tipo has scratch resistand glass, Ideos X3 doesn't, anyway you're going to buy a screen protector.. sand scratches even the mighty Corning Gorilla Glass 2, none of the phones has a LED Flash but the Ideos X3 has a Front Facing Camera which I don't use (I own the Ideos X3) because it's supposed to be used for skype but the slow processor doesn't support video calls :'( both have the same GPU.. GO AND BUY SONY XPERIA TIPO - that's my advice ;) have fun with your new phone :)

Had this phone around a year ago, initially good value but has a lot of issues. Weak processor means that there is terrible lag when using any task orr app, the camera is poor, very cheap build quality, and terrible battery life. No exaggeration to say that you will be lucky to get 6 hours use between charges. Also heats up worryingly when making calls or browsing. I have now upgrade to the Alcatel 983 (see my comment) which is an absolutely fantastic handset. I can't recommend the huawei!

Most phone repair shops will fix the phone but since it's not a very common make, getting parts shipped in from Asia is the time-consuming and expensive bit. Exactly the same thing happened to me so I feel your pain :) I had the phone for about a year and totally loved it, especially for the price.

Used it for about 10 months. Just sent it for in warranty repair as touch screen top edge lost its sensitivity. Pros: Great looks and form factor, compact, slim and stylish. Good sharp display. Good battery (if you monitor & kill the power sucking apps). Low price. Cons: Weak reception (compared to nokias). Occasional echo. Low external speaker volume. Low mic sensitivity (not good for speaker phone calls). Low quality GPS (in terms of locking on and errors). Low quality camera. Processor and RAM low end for GB 2.3. Hence slow response and occassional app crashes. Low exchange value being a 'chinese phone'. Summary - Its a toy rather than a serious instrument. But worth the price.

Used it for 6 months and I have these remarks: 1.When the same person calls or sms me, I cannot see the name in both cases. I had to make two entries of the same person, one using the country code. 2. I could not sent mms messages and 3. When connecting a normal set of headphones (tip, ring, sleeve) the microphone is not functioning.

Best 50E ever spent on a phone. Here are some features that are normally found only on high end phones: - compass - light sensor - front camera If it had two more cheap options it would have exceeded its value four-fold: led light and more RAM. Looks are ok, but it looks better on the site than in person. Using CM7, would be happy if CM9 (ICS) would be available and fully running. Camera is fixed focus so don't get your hopes up. Scanning a sheet of paper to get it through Goggles is almost impossible. Oh, and if you install CyanogenMod7 be sure to use V8 Supercharger script, it makes a world of a difference.

It can be a little laggy, and I've seen better camera, but its about as tough and reliable as they get. Whilst my Motorolas, HTC's, etc, crash and die, this is still there for me. Really nice design too

There is no autofocus camera, only fixed focus. Although it's 3.2MP it seems like it's actually 2MP interpolated. Memory is a bit low, you would need a custom rom.

Gretings, just sold mine Ideos X3. Specs are awesom, for the amoun of money i paid for it. Newer the less, some things was just more than i could handle. Camera quality is very poor, pictures have quite noise, videos almost with no sound, but frames constant and ok! Thrust me if you do not need good camera go for this phone couse other things works as good like other "brand" phones. NOTICE: i bought classic candy bar ;) phone with good 5 MP auto focus, led camera and some other basic functiones, for everything else i use my computer. Hope it was helpfull

2G is just GPRS which is usually a handset will fall back to when a 3G signal can't be found. If you live in a country such as Japan, you won't get any 2G signal only 3G and 4G.

Flash can work, i am not saying it will, but you can always try. try rooting the phone using z4root and then install flash 10.3 and try using the ucbrowser and it would work, however sadly only in usbrowser not any others. try it.

Look I don't profess to be any sort of expert, but I think the problem is with the version of Gingerbread. I couldn't get video by Skype to work on my wife's Samsung either. You need to have a look in some of the Android forums; i think you will find an answer. Tango worked fine for her as well.

Had mine for about a month now and I'm happy with it for the price I paid (80 GBP). Good cheap smartphone just what I was looking for as my first android device to get me used to the os. It says here that it has flash which it doesn't but you can easily find adobe flash for armv6 and install that. Rooted mine easily, installed cyanagenmod on it and even had debian with x11 running on it. Recommended as a first phone or just the mobile hobbyist who likes to tinkerin there spare time.

you need to change the wi-fi sleep setting, go to settings, then wireless & networks, then wi-fi settings, then press the middle menu key, select advanced, you will then see wi-fi sleep policy, select "NEVER" you can then turn wi-fi on and off whenever you want to via the slide screen, hope this helps, CHEERS

It sounds like you have a dodgy handset/battery. My battery lasts 1.5 days before charging. Remember with Android phones battery goes down quicker due to having everything running behind the scenes

I am a new owner of a Ideos X3 and am trying to transfer files from my laptop to it; however, when I connect the USB cable, turn on USB storage on the phone and check storage settings, it does not show that the SD card is mounted although it is. i live in u.k. i bought this phone new and unlocked from phones 4 u. - - when i do network scan for available networks, it does not find 3mobile 2g signal. it finds 3mobile 3g signal but not the 2g. I have traveled about for a week and i have decided the phone doesnt have the ability to pick up a 2g signal on mobile. it picks up 2g signal on all other networks. i wrote this on my facebook and someone tried network scan on their huawei blaze and they found the same thing that the blaze cannot pick up 2g signal on 3mobile but it works fine on all other networks

I bought this phone one week ago, i like everything on this phone espcially with its price is so cheap and affordable, but i notice when i make or recieved a call after 2 or 5 minutes of talking time the phone heated up so heavily. i continue using it the overheating continues, till one day my phone turn off by itself with battery is fully charged. I tried to turn on over and over again but it didnt turn on anymore. So i decided to brought it back to where i bought it as this one still cover with warranty, the technician of the store checked whats wrong with the unit, and he said its a faulty unit, then straight away they replaced my phone to a new one and after recieving my new unit i tested it straight away by calling some friends of mine and we talked for than 10mins. and theres no more heating problem anymore until now my unit works wonder now. Those of you got heating problem for talking 2 to 5mins, i should say thats gonna be a faulty one. i suggest you to use your warranty to get it replaced.

No you can't make 3G video call, at least out of the box you can´t. If you root the device you can use other video over IP software's like Gtalk but the support for true video call is not available anywhere i've looked. But this is a carrier decision to.. this device packs Android 2.3.3 and any carrier can add the video-call function. In Europe i didn't found any carrier that enabled this function. I think it's because the price range of the device, to avoid competition with the more expensive Android devices.

I don´t know about other country's but on Portugal this phone as only 128MB of RAM. I´ve bought one for my wife and i was surprised to see that the total RAM is 128MB. Still i must say it performs better than the Galaxy Mini, once you disable the Huawei GUI and keep the Android stock one. As for software, don't expect all the goodies that Samsung put's in the G Mini. This one comes with a lot less software (but you can get anything from the market so...). It as a similar SoC that the G mini but it runs application a little better (try angry birds to see the difference). The SoC can be overclocked (if you root the device) to a max of 800Mhz (stable) anything above and it crashes (at least that's my experience). If you want a little more battery time you can underclock it to 200Mhz but don't expect it to be very responsive :P

I feel like owning a mini computer. 2. camera is great for daylight/outdoor shots 3. screen brightness can be easily adjusted if your outdoors so that you can still see/read the screen 4. it has radio, mp3 player, gps, bluetooth, data switch which you can easily turn on and off to save battery and data (if your phone credit is limited). 5. it allows you to download heaps of application from android markets and store it in your SD (this is my favorite) and run it on the phone without problems. 6. touch screen is super responsive/sensitive and quick. 7. it has front vga camera (could be good for Skype call but haven't tried yet). 8. the android OS 2.3 version (the latest currently) allow me to download free application in markets which is not compatible with lower version of htc, Motorola etc. (i feel bad for those who had paid more for such phone) 9. Home screen animation for the widgets have various options (transparent cube is my favorite) 10. Games does not lag (just not sure if that will change once I installed more games) 11. The size and weight of the phone is just enough for me to keep & carry in my pocket. 12. Again, I did not have to pay so much money just to enjoy android phone. And that's the biggest like! Things which could have improved (but can be ignored because of the price or I'm not prepared to pay way too much money for specs I could rather ignore): 1. Camera flash for indoor or night shots not in place 2. camera button should be outside the phone not on the screen as I find it difficult to make a shot if I'm included in the photo shoot. 3. radio require that you plug the earphones. 4. I find installing a lot of applications somehow hangs the phone for a few seconds before switching to another. perhaps this can be easily corrected by downloading from the Markets a clean-up application to help the RAM. 5. Battery should be charged at least everyday specially if you used it heavily during the day (eg playing games). But this is a common problem with ALL smartphone as I read in other reviews. 6. wish it's compatible with Kindle application. 7. Pinch to zoom out/in only works with photo gallery but not with the web browser. Though the text can be small, medium, or large or the view can be far, medium, or near which may take a while to switch rather than automatic compared to pinch to zoom. 8. Screen can be small for war games (e.g. Inotia3) 9. qwerty key board is too small to select the correct letter. I solve this problem by switching to 12-key phone pad or CooTek T+ 10. I wish I can use the USB cable plug to share the internet from PC to the phone (so I can save internet data usage)since I do not have wifi router at home. BUT OVERALL, I'M VERY HAPPY WITH IT. In Philippines, you can buy via ebay.ph which is around 9K pesos if I'm not mistaken (you can re-check). I bought mine in Cambodia at Metphone shop at Monivong Blvd Phnom Penh (distributor of HTC in Cambodia) for 175USD with 1 year waranty (touch screen and other parts have less than a year warranty).

Very satisfied with this smartphone! Extremely reliable and very complete. Camera is very competente, both in photo and video. Yo tube, gps, maps, google maps, google browser, music player, video player, wifi, facebook, twiter, android games... goes on and on. Don't sop in aplications, runs very smmothly! Great buy! In reply to your comments I don't think it true. I have the previous cousin the Ideos U8150 and you can install applications and move them to the external memory. They can also be run directly from the SD card. I have installed so many applications on my external memory without interfering with the internal memory. This is just to clarify for other users. The phone is really good though.

RAM doesnt mean internal storage. Its smthng temporary memory needed to process every stuff in phone. And next thing u can install app in external storage card from Android v2.2 Froyo onwards, this means, obviously in v2.3 also.

Tp user vx after 2.1 u can store all your applications on microsd card , even if u have 2.1 android u download app2card and u have no worries . Don't spred fals information in the future.

Higher resolutions 320 x 480 Bigger screen 3.2� 16M colour Better CPU Qualcomm MSM7227 600 MHz processor Latest Android OS, v2.3 (Gingerbread) The configuration is looking good, but the storage memory is still at 256 MB RAM. They should have upgraded it to 1GB. For those who hasn�t use Android phone before, you can�t install an application onto the storage card, it�s only go into the internal memory. You can�t install many apps on U8150 & X3. Because of the limited of internal memory on X3, the X5 is a better choice
