every thing about INNO A20 is good, but my problem is like that of john, in fact iam not using it cause my battery was dead, and in northern parts of nigeria we are do not have its spare parts. pls. do some thing about this. and bring much of your products.

I am shock to find out that Innostream still exist and sales mobiles!!! They should consider closing down the company and may be start manufacturing cars.....they will have more chance to make it. Their local representatives are also a joke.

Hi all, I've been using this phone for the past one and a half years, and I still think that it is worth every cent I paid for it. The mp3 player is still marvelous, noneed for me to use headphones while working. The sound is still crytal clear. The camera is still handy, i could snap pics and video with ease. Not the best of quality but still adequate. I've dropped it a dozen of times but the shell is still though. Just a few scrathes here and there. They said that the flip would get loose, but still mine is holding firm. For you guys who wanted to transfer loads of mp3 file. It's better to use a memory card reader. If you hook it up to the PC using usd cable for a hour definately it will be cranky after that. My old samsung faces the same problem. In short, after such a long time using it in the fast paced world of handphones, I'm still proud of owning A20. People still curious and ask me about it's feature. I'm yet to meet anyone else using the phone. Certainly makes me feel one of a kind...

Hi guys.. on behalf of my friend (he is not internet savvy)... i would like to ask if anybody have problem deleting files from internet download folder (it's in the phone,not SIM card). I couldn't find any option to delete those files. I tried to sync the phone to delete from PC but to no avail. Anyone?? TQ

after a year, i managed to get hold this phone for rm600, 2nd hand. then i read the reviews.. i feel lucky because i bought along all the problems mentioned. now im looking forward to use it as a door stopper or even as an object to throw at to any stray dogs that might cause me troubles. hopefully, after charging the battery right now, it will last 2 days. im the lucky one.

I've heard rumors from a Taiwan mobile shop that Innostream has closed down. Don't know if this is true or not. The reason the rumors has gone around in Taiwan is because they haven't made any anouncement in 6 months now, that's unusual for a mobile company.

Dear New Guy; My mistake. They would have charge me RM59 to change the entire casing. Out of good-will they replace me only the inner casing with a used one for FREE. There is no crack on this one. The service centre is SouthHall, PJ, Kelana Jaya. cheers

My A20 has been submitted to the iMobile service centre 3 times and I am back to square 1. Now I have given up. Original complaint was the mp3 play; clicks/distortion, especially if you set the sound to Jazz. On the 3rd visit they sent the phone to head office and replaced the system board. SMSing seems much quicker now as a result, but I am back to Aug 2005 firmware! Since I bought this phone I had been using a VK Mobile 900, which I got for 4700 baht new in mbk in Bangkok. This has a superb MP3 player, and overall is quite good (1.3M camera is ok and has a light). Bigger/better display than the A20. Downside to the VK900 is that mp3 filenames are in dos 8.3 format (useless for songs in Thai language), and the battery lasts a day (but they do give you two batteries and an external charger, so they obviously know battery life sucks). But when I visited imobile service to pick up the A20, I gave them two phones to fix! The VK900 has a horizontal blank line (defective transistor driver in display?), and 509 has, well, just gone mad (hangs with white screen). So imobile is cheap, the technology is good, but quality is suspect. At 4700 baht for a multimedia phone, you cant complain, and I am sure there will be better future models at similar prices. So why worry? I mean its not like buying a Nokia where you might have to mortgage your house (and end up with a slow phone with hardly any memory!). A friend bought a Nokia N70; I played around with it, slow and hardly any memory. But then the camera quality is good and the 3g feature exceptional. So I guess buying a Nokia is a bit like buying a BMW; quality is assured but electric windows are a chargable option!

bao, yes, my A20 cracked internally (external sub screen) but still can be used. I am not sure whether did i knocked A20 accidentally against the table??? I've changed for free - but it's a used stock from the service centre. Now, using a pouch to keep the A20 inside. But i am sure, twisting regualry will eventually spoil the sub-screen.

WARNING!!! Guys, if you twist you phone too often, the subscreen will crack eventually. The subscreen is the external black shell. Can other users confirm this.

I bought my A20 two mths ago . I have read in the forum regarding upgrades . Is it necessary and what can the upgrades do to my phone? Are there any special features that requires upgrades? The only problem i have with the phone is that I was not able to receive direct MMS and nor am I able to send MMS . DO i need a special setting from my service provider? to all a20 users; did anyone experience crack over the external casing of the A20 due to twisting the phone too often for video rec? my a20 has got a 10.5mm hairline crack. dunno whether did i accidentally knocked a20 at the side of the table or it's a defect problem??? the crack is at the side of the external casing , just next to the word innostream

Mel, for ur problem, i think u should send back for service cause the symptom of ur problem is cause by hardware. I agree with you that Inno 90 will have better MIDI sound playback but not MP3 audio playback. Every product will have their good n bad point. As long we purchase product is value for the money we paid, than is consider a good product. :)

sumit, For innostream phone, their is a region lock. Example, you stay in europe but you the phone from Thailand, when you insert Europe SIM Card, in Language selection menu, it only allow to use 'Thai' language. No other language for you to choose. Even you set the phone with 'Thai' SIM Card, once insert other country SIM card, language will back to 'Thai'. Hope will help you.

summit, i do not know what language u r looking at now, pls proceed the following: 1. flip open the phone 2. press the far left-top button to enter into menu page 3. Press the keypad: 9 -> 3 -> 1 4. You will see a list of language, just select english using ur up/down navigation keypad. hope this helps

Bad things about the A20. The software colours look good, but the software navigation could be better and not very smart and intuitive - too many steps to achieve simple functions. (maybe this could be configured through SW upgrade - I got mine SW version based on Southall configuration,which kind of sucks!) All other standard functions of the phone except multimedia functions are just ordinary and nothing exceptional. The phone speakers have problems as there is NO sound without plugging headphones. Incoming calls will ring and one can hear from the speaker, but when answered no sound from speakers unless one turn on speakerphone!! or put on headphones!!....Some software bug. The MIDI sound is the WORST of all handphones...weak and childish sounding....Innostream used to used YAMAHA Chipset in their earlier models like INNO-90, which has the BEST MIDI sound of any handphones i heard!!...but A20 MIDI is like 10 years back technology. The PC sync software is crappy and lousy. Nothing special and worst than previous PC sync software. A20 tries to cramp all the pics you taken or upload and as a result the quality of the picture is squeeze and looks terrible. GOOD things - MP3 player, Video camcorder, and still shots...the rest of it range from average to crappy (especially MIDI sounds!)

Moo, most phones do hung up from time to time. It just happens when u bought it. Anyway, i have not experienced what u went thru, but I did have to remove the battery to start the phone. I was opening a pic taken and all of a sudden it hangs. Do check with the shop that u bought from if ur problems surface frequently, else, don't bother.

Got mine last friday, i'm experienced phone hung today, the phone was vibrate while incoming call but no ringing sound, i can press no key even pick up key. finally i've to remove battery and re-insert it then can turn on the phone. anybody got this kind of problem, please share! i'm not sure whether it concerned to FW or not? my fw is OCT 26, 2006 23:04:14 BA20FJ26ITH ERA20FI12A thank

One last thing, the I-Mobile 509 has a better/brighter screen than the A20. Sorry A20, better camera/light, but the 509 wins in the multimedia department :)

I just bought one of these in Thailand under the I-Mobile brand (although it still has Innostream on the phone). I compare it to an I-Mobile 509 which I bought several months ago (and which my girlfriend has requisioned). The firmware is really old (Aug 2005), and the mp3 player has lots of pops in it, and the phone is generally quite slow compared to the I-Mobile 509. Also the I-Mobile 509 will continue playing MP3s while you are using other features in the phone (SMSing, browsing phone book, etc), while the A20 doesnt. Also the 509 is almost bug free (the only iritation I found was choosing phonebook contacts in MMS and SMS client, you can't type in part of a word in English, just the first letter). The downside to the 509 is that the camera is almost unusable in poor light (night mode does not lighten things up), and the micro SD cards are expensive (have not found a 1Gb one yet although I bought a 52Mb one in Spore for S$99). The 509 mirco SD card slot can disconnect/reconnect the card quite a few times (this I partially attribute to my 512Mb card having a sticker on the back of it, which makes the card a little fatter even though it from SanDisk). Comparing the 509 to the A20, I would say I am disapointed with the A20 since I believed it would be better than the 509. I am going to try and contact I-Mobile for a firmware upgrade; I can't believe a brand new phone has 9 month old firmware and the MP3 player is so faulted (poping sounds even when the equalizer is set to normal)!

Sorry, no multitasking.. that means that if you listen to music, then you can't do other things. If you want a phone with excellent photocamera, then avoid this phone. The pictures taken with this phone will never be super clear because of lack of autofocus. But if you want a phone with great design and multimedia abilities, this is a go.

Yes, you can transfer files to your laptop by use with infrared with no problem. But the best way to do it is still with the usb cable.. it goes much faster.

To use the PC Sync program, customers need to upgrade the SW version of mobile phone(INNO-P10, INNO-A20). Please contact or visit Customer Service Center in your area. 2. The new PC Sync program supports USB interface, and the USB cable which is originally included in the package is used to the connection between PC and mobile phone. 3. And this new USB Sync program supports simple PIM functions. - Phonebook(Contacts), SMS, Schedule management - Other functions such as video, music, image can be managed by using USB Mass Storage ...what do they mean by "upgrade the SW version of the mobile phone"?? whats SW stand for?

The photo quality of inno a20 is not as good as the nokia n90 or the sony ericsson k750/w800 because it lacks autofocus. If you want a phone that takes great photos, then avoid this one. But the video recording is not bad with cif resolution and 15fps. Like i said before, if you want a phone with great design and good music and multimedia features, go for a20. With 1gb memorycard, you can have lots of songs and movies in it.

hmm.. i would also like to know that as well... but it would be pretty hard cause innos not a very big popular company like nokia,samsung, etc. so i dont think anyone would be bothered doing that unless they have both the phones.....but judging from what i've read i think the sony erricson phones with there 2MP-auto focus cams are the best...if you read the 2MP comparisin thingy at the mainpage...the new SE k800 has pretty good functions but i like the design of the inno A20 =D

Rlqx, i did look into that question and the answer is "NO", it cannot affect the phone. A virus (or the person that created the virus) need to know the source code or the platform of the phone. Like Windows for PC/PDA, some ppl just dun like windows, so they study the platform and make virus base on that. Well, if inno. gets very popular and ppl want to damage the phone, then they would need to study the phone. Else, no, dun worry.

About the battery not last long, most of the user will encounter the same problem when first use the phone. Reason: first time user, they study all the function and menu and not realise time gone fast. When the backlight on, it will drain battery faster. After 1-2 weeks, than you will notice the battery standby time improve. And this because user have master the phone and need less time to study the menu. :P

the battery looks fine to me. on a normal usage, it last 3-4 days. if u have just bought the phone, then have the battery check out if u suspect the battery always fails u. new batteries need to go thru 3-4 cycles of full charge and discharge before it works optimumly.

You can't change font colors, but the purple color is quite nice, match the phone very well. I have been using my phone for half a year now, and the flip is as good as new, same with the twist. But I don't twist the screen so much though, so I don't think it will be a problem.

this phone is abt. 8 mths - 1 yr old; hence the answer to RL's question is unknown. However, all clamshell phones have the tendency to be loose after a long use of flipping open/close.

the new LG P7200 has a nice twist clamshell effect than A20 :-(, but that phone is too bulky and very lagging compared to A20. i still like the A20 with the camera at the side where many candid shots can be taken :-)

It is for Taiwan. If the loaded with that f/w, all MMS and GPRS setting will change to Taiwan Telco. And it might have some network issue cause the Telco setting is different from Malaysia Telco. If any of the local phone had loaded with non-Malaysia version software, it consider warranty void. The software had been tampered. *got the above info from Southall*

I am writing from M'sia, so this is only applicable to Malaysians with A20. 1. U can just return A20 to the shop & ask them to get the phone upgraded. They will sent to the service centre to get it f/w upgraded. All this will take 3-5 days. If u stay in Selangor, go to Southall (Innostream service centre) in Kelana Jaya. The phone/address is stated on your warranty card. The f/w upgrade will take only 1 hr since it's a walk-in. 2. U can buy the screen protector from any phone shop. Just make sure it's crystal view brand. The phone guy will help u to stick the protector. 3. As for the new f/w, pls take note!!!: SW VERSION NOV 4 2005 18:45:17 BA20FJ26TTW ERA20FH07A This f/w is not for Malaysia. It is for Taiwan. Sorry for haven't post here lately. I have been busy with work. It seems that more people are getting this phone, and are satisfied with it. Nice to hear. Here, I'm going to sum up some tips and information that I hope can help you guys with using this phone. To check firmware, simply push *888*837# Me and a couple other here seems to have firmware from october, and that might be the latest one.. if anybody has newer, please tell. JavaGames To install javagames, make sure that you get both the .jar and .jad files. Simply copy these files to your memorycard or phone memory and choose install from the filemanager. After installing, you can delete these files if you want. The games can be find in the javalist, not in the games list. Not all of the games out there are compatible with this phone. All the games from this page works fine, so just enjoy =) Many great wallpapers to be found here too. About mp3-soundquality.. When listening with loudspeakers, remember to have normal settings on the equalizer so you wont get cracking sounds.. but please choose the equalizersettings that suits you best when using the headsett, great bundle headsett by the way.. If you dislike the sounds of the startup and closing theme.. simply close the flip when the sound starts playing. Besides from image and musicfiles, this phone can also show .txt files. This is nice in case you have to carry some important documents. PC-sync software can be downloaded at www.innostream.com. To convert movies to mp4.. simply use imtoo mpeg encoder.. you will find this program by searching on the internet.. i can't provide you with serialkey, but its not too difficult to find if you search a little.. sorry. You will get best results with a resolution of 176x144 and videobitrate somewhere between 128-200. Good luck with this.. the phone is really good to show fullscreen movies. You can hide the clock/date by pushing the downvolume once.. same to get the clock/date to show up again.. hold down upvolume to go to silence mode, same procedure to turn it off. 1GB mmc memorycard works fine with this phone, so just get one if you want :) The autoresponse is very handy and easy to use, your own answering machine. To use picturecalling id on the contactlist.. its best to have pictures at 96x96. You can use the phonecam to takes pictures on this resolution too. It will show up fullscreen on the external screen when you receive a call from that person. Even though this phone has 262k colours, same amount as the SE w800i, but when comparing the same wallpaper in them two phones, I found the SE had more vivid colours, but the a20 has better contrast and bigger screen. So its not bad, and the mp3quality when using headsett is really hard to judge which is better since the quality is very good on both.. but i could swear the a20 had better bass :D This was all the tips I can think of right now. Its been a week i guess since i got this phone and here is what i think 1. The mp3 player with equalizer is really good. 2. I find that placing your mp4 on your main screen wallpaper is a really interesting feature. 3. Yeah i totally agree with you all about the SMS. its really slow and i personally find it laggy sometimes. 4. As for the cracking sound i didn't hear it when i start up or close down. 5. The ringtone is really loud to me. If you can't hear it then you can try twisting the main screen out since the sound for the SMS, ringtones and mp3 player came from there. 6. The camera isn't bad at all. i don't know if you guys know this or not but i notice you could snap potrait pictures too using this phone rather than taking all landscape pictures but its a bit hard to snap because you can't use the usual snap button. 7. Like others have say before you can't use mp3 for the sms. The sound for the SMS is low but its good enough for me since i can hear it. 8. This phone is pack with stopwatch so i wonder if anyone use it when they go for exercise? :P 9. Overall i would give this phone 9/10 because of several factors like sound and twisting the main screen ( like N90 :P ). I don't regret getting this phone because i really like it and this is the only phone in the current market that i could go like "wow" and get really interested in getting it. About the cracking sound: When you listen to music with the loudspeaker, remember to set the equalizer to normal, then you will not get any cracking sound. But when you use the headsett, then you can adjust the equalizer as you wish.

Hi mr Li. I'm back from my holidays now so I can try answer your questions. 1. There is something wrong with the wallpaper you sent to me from zedge, I didn't manage to open it with my phone either. It was first time I experience something like that. 2. The apps untrusted question always occur when you install new java games, this is just a safetywarning. The games that you have installed is not listed in Games, but in MENU->APPS->2.JAVA->1.LIST 3. The screencolor even its 260k, but I have noticed it is not so good to show red/orange colors. But it's no problem for me since the contrast and brightness is very good. I did compare this screen with a sony ericsson k750i with exactly same background, and noticed that the k750i has slightly better colors, but the inno a20 has better contrast and is fysically bigger too. So overall the inno a20 screen is prefered by me. 4. The program to convert moviefiles to mp4 is sent to your email. Enjoy! :)

When I first saw the A20 in Aug 05, my 1st impression on the design was "WOW!" and when i heard the audio qaulity - my goodness, it was awesome. but the K750i still is loud but not as crisp as A20 :-) i bought the phone just before Christmas - the price went down from RM16XX to RM1199 bao, how come the pics i download to A20 and set as wallpaper is not as clear as the images/pics that are pre-loaded in A20. I took a pic with a 3.2MP cam and then download and set as wallpaper in A20, looks like 65k colors with not much definition - any advise??? thks.

To watch your mp4 files, simply install quicktime and use its player. Most people has this installed anyway. When it comes to ringtones, mine is so loud that I never miss a call. I use an mp3 as ringtone, if you do so too, check the quality of it. And we seem to agree, the biggest downside of this phone is the sms shait. ;) Did I send to you the app to convert movies to mp4 so you can watch movies on your phone?

loong, i got A20 from doctor mobile - 1Utama, new wing just opposite giant. Good deal. but u need to go to southall to get f/w upgraded. The phone has many good points but here are the bad ones :-) : 1. human error bug: go to Setting and scroll down to where it says : PC connection - it has number "0" instead of "10" 2. ringtone is soft compared to K750i, can BAO advise on this :-) Cannot really hear the ringtone when phone inside pocket 3. cannot choose ringtone for incoming SMS 4. incoming SMS doesn't alert with vibrate - missed a lot of incoming SMS 5. external LCD is not permanently on (I know it's to save power) and need to press the external buttons to see the status of the phone (miss call/sms/time/date..etc) 6. cannot choose loudspeaker straight away when making a call, need to wait for the other person to pick up the call, then ca choose the options 7. taking camera in the night is not so good. need to do lots of setting with the A20 before taking a shot 8. ya, typing SMS has slow response and it's not really T9 predective input. U need to key in the whole word. Some phones are smart to appear the exact word and u need not key in the entire word. EG: "anything" - when u type "anyt" - the phone appears "anything" straight away unlike A20 where u need to key in the whole thing. 9. bao, with regards to insert the USB cable or charging cable into the phone, will this wear out the internal board - it seems very fragile :-( *yikes! 10. btw, xcute DV2 is going for RM1300 :-) almost got this phone but the phone sux - the cam and video are superb though. that's all :-)

I use 1gb mmc + on my phone, and it works great. The sound quality is one of the strongest features of this phone, so i must say that it is very good. It is a perfect musicphone, even the earphones that comes with the phone is great. The only 2 downsides with this phone is slow sms and no bluetooth.

Hi, I believe that most of us that had bought a20 is satisfied (if not thrilled)by this marvelous phone. For me, it's like driving an aston martin vanquish; you just don't see them aronud that much, and when you breeze by, people will notice and curious. I've been using the phone for quite sometime but i still haven't found anyone (in person) using the same phone...talk about being one of a kind...I simply LOVE IT!!! But, for those who are thinking of buying the phone, bear in mind that owning a unique phone is like owning the aston martin. The spare parts would be quite pricy... mpeg4 is just a way to encode the video, while 352x288 is the resolution, in other words how big the picture is in the video. Most mobile phones use mpeg4 and/or 3gp because it compress better so the files wont be too big. Normal movies that you download is usually encoded with either xvid or divx, but the resolution varies from movies to movies dependent if its widescreen or not etc. Hope you understand what I mean.

I bought a taiwanese version of this phone, so it was called innostream i3200, not a20, but its the same phone. On the package, I received 1 phone, 1 slim battery, 1 regular battery, 1 travel charger, 1 desktop charger, 1 usb cable, 1 handstrop, 1 stereoheadsett and 1 handsfree where you can plug in any 3,5mm jack. It was a great bundle, the only thing I needed to buy was the 1gig MMC memorycard.

Some people must be wondering why Inno phones look like Samsung & LG...In fact, it should be the other way round...Ever wonder why Inno is still surviving...that's because some of the samsung & lg products are based on inno phone designs. (even Motorola and Ericsson uses some the innovative components based on innostream product designs)... Inno does the prototypes, when samsung & lg like the designs they adopt it have it bulk produced under their famous brand names. Of course if we buy their products, then we give them a chance. If nobody buy their products, then they would have been bankrupted a long time ago. Even though we don't buy them in stocks, but if everybody buys one, then the company will earn money anyway. If we can help the small companies to survive, then it will only benefit the mobilemarket in terms of price and possibilities, and technology develops faster. And you are partly right about the last part. One of the reasons I bought this phone is because nobody here in my country has it, so its unique to me. But the main reason I bought it, is because of the specs and design. If I want a phone nobody else has, I could just bought a Sagem or sumthin.

This is my experiences for those things you mentioned, long. First of all, my phones speakers are not bad at all.. The sound is loud and clear, very hard to miss a call if you have the volum on the loudest. Regarding mp3 quality, this phone is even better than the SE w800 that suppose to be a musicphone. I compared the two by using the same headsett. IR works perfect for everything accept sending contactinfo. The reception is very good, never had any kind of problems with it. Maybe sam has bad firmware or something, because I don't recognise any of his problems. I have contacts with other inno a20 owners, and all of them are very pleased with the phone. The only big miss is no bluetooth.

What Sam said is partly true.. Innos older phones have nice designs, but people used to get problems with their phones. However, they are a small company and need experience to make better phones. That's why I gave them a chance and bought this phone A20. With this and the P10, Inno shows that they are on the right direction to make better phones. I don't have any problems with my phone yet, and have been used this phone for almost 3months now. The design is just gourgeous, and if the specs suits you well, dont hesitate to buy it. This is the best musicphone, even better soundquality then w800i. We have to remember that Innostream is a small company compared to the big Nokia, SE, Samsung etc.

This company is Garbage, i can not believe that up to this day they still make phones with errors,all the openions posted for every model they've created you will see "Battery life bad...", "speaker phone bad..", "infrared does not work..", "crap reception..", and "echo on the other end..","the phone shut off and won't turn on anymore..." HORRIBLE COMPANY, stay away from korean made products seriously, they are just plain trash, and not only that, if you look at all previous inno models and read the openions, atleast 5 of ten ask for service center # or address or whatever, this is a sign that this company builds phones based on good looking design, but 100% bad features and performance.

The xcute dv2 has 3mp camera interpolated to 6mp. It does not have 512 built in memory and no bluetooth or infrared. From all the reviews I've read, this phone takes great pictures and videoclips, but as a phone and mp3player, it sucks. The batterylifetime is not so good either, and there are some bugs with the firmware. The a20 camera takes bad pictures, even if it's 2mp, and no bluetooth. But great phone and mp3player. Much better design than the dv2 imo. Let's hope there will be a a30 with better camera and bluetooth in 2006.

You get 2 batteries when buying the a20. One slim and one regular.. The slim one lasts at least 2 days in standby, and the regular some more days. Since you get 2 batteries and a desktop charger, you always have 1 battery fully charged available, and the regular battery is quite slim too.

If you get the install error, it means the game is not compatible with your phone. Just give med your email adress, and I'll send you a package of games. I will pack them as rar-file, and the file will be around 4mb. You know how to extract rar-files, right?

It is not important where you store them. Just store them in your phone memory or memorycard. Then go in to the filemanager, choose the .jad file, and choose "install". After installing, you can delete the .jad and .jar files..

Javagames of course. Many of games for SE k750i and k700 works for this phone. Many games for motorola works too. Just remember to get both the .jar and .jad files. I have 65 games on my phone now.

Let me send my resume to Korea, Innostream and then I will let u know when I get a job offer there. 5.Yes, it is suitable for girls. A20 because: (a) it has a reverse sensor when driving (b) it tells a girl that the makeup is not thick enuff (c) there's a compartment in A20 where a girl can place her lipstick and loose chain - pls. be more specific as "is A20 suitable for a girl" thks!

Guys, I want to share with ur guys, i brought a speaker call 'sound pod' is a speaker some things like Ipod speaker, but it is cheaper just RM 45, in the PC shop, and i now started to convert all the serial from hong kong, a 45min or 700MB, or 1 episode is only 145Mb ++, with resolusion of 128x96 and audio bit rate at 32, it fun, try it I love it, now i can copy all the HK serials in to a MMC, which is 1G. hahaaha

I don't have the manual, but I managed to find out an easy way to install java games. Just copy the .jar and .jad files to your phone. Then in File Manager, choose the .jad file and choose install. This is great. Most phones, you have to install java games through wap. It can read .txt files too.

Now i can record my explicit conversation with my gf :-) Another function that i like most in this phone is that i could still use the camera, mp3 and mp4 player even though there is no sim card inside the phone. For those of you who would like to buy this phone, I suggest that you buy it at Mines. The manual provided is in English. The dealer is at the same floor as the TGV cinema. But the phone is a little bit pricy compared to Low Yat.

Yes. It is actually in landscape mode when you turn on the camera, and then you have to change to portraitmode if you want to take long picture instead of wide. Just push the # button. Remember that this phone does not have autofocus, so the image will always be abit blurry.

Im not sure what you mean, but you can choose to flip the imagescreen 90 degree before you take the picture by pressing the # button. Maybe its this you mean?

Mine came with only a chinese manual, and since I don't read chinese, I had to find out everything myself. Some of the "tricks" i found if any of you are interested is: If you don't like the startup/closedown welcomescreen sound, just close the flip when the sound starts. To hide the clock and operatorname, just click the down volume on the side down once. To put the phone on silence, hold the volum up button in a couple of secounds. To enter the camera setup, in cameramode, push the # button to the camera 90 degree, then you can see the setup. To check firmware: *888*837# That's all I can think of right now :)

Im glad im not the only one really loving this phone, Sharkz. This is a true multimedia phone. Just download a program called Imtoo mpg encoder and encode any movies you want to mp4 on 176x144 resolution and watch it on your phone fullscreen. It goes perfectly smoothly. I've also downloaded some java games for it. With the 1gb MMC now I have alot of music and 3 movies on my phone. It is genius that you can use any normal headsett for it(3.5 minijack) And the batteries last awhile too. Not to talk about the solid buildt quality. And no drivers needed for pc sync is a plus, just plug and play. This is truly a big step on the right direction from innostream. Let's hope they sell enough of this phone so they can develop A30.

I've been using A20 for a few weeks now and i must say that apart from the slightly slower sms response, i'm very satisfied with phone. i bought the A20 at Mines for RM1600 along with free 128 MMC, USB cable, handfree etc. what i like most about the phone is the clamshell design. The video quality is excelent. I like the sound quality so much that I don't even listen to my radio while driving nowadays. I would just pop on the headset and listen to the mp3. The camcorder function is also very useful. The rotating screen, in my opinion is very stylish. I must admit that trade-in would be almost impossible in the future, but then again i had never traded in any of my phone. I would rather pass it down to my siblings...

To Li Tan, Mm.. ok, but if you do compare the video recording and camera feature with DV2, think DV2 will sure win over A20. But again, my advice, don't go for a phone that can't really provide you a good "phone" feature but provide you a good multimedia feature as eventually you still need to use this device as a phone, right? ;) Just let us posted if you have any extra information regaring this DV2 thingy lah. NO worries.

Yup! Checked up DV2. My comments: 1. If u concentrate on the video and camera feature, u will not be dissapointed. 2. If u concentarte on the phone feature, it SUX! 3. The SMS has T9 feature but not predictive - meaning, it doesn't think ahead and suggest words, rather display a series of words (like SE) for you to choose. 4. The audio quality is really crappy, quite loud but crappy. 5. The response is quite slow about 1/4 sec. 6. The GUI/interface is very lousy - just like Samsung old phones. 7. Though it brags abt. 16.1 million colors, yet Xcute does not fully utilize it making the phone look like 262k colors only. 8. For malaysia, there might be a "scam" because the phone cost RM16XX and that's it - no addtional battery, no USB to TV out cable, no memory card - u need to purchase separately. 9. Abt. the battery and becuase of so many features, the battery is good for only 2 days :-( 10. Overall 6/10 :-) - not too impressive, but will still consider.

Hi Li Tan, No lah, where dare to do it here right? :p Just that for me still get use to SE menu and feature I guess. Oh ya, I did try on the DV2 at Time Square. There also show the printed photo shoot by the 6M camera provided by DV2, quite nice compare to the rest. I didn't look at the video quality, think might be the best in the market based on the spec. When I hold this DV2, it is kind of like holding A20 also, nice in the build quality. Oh ya, I don't know where I read the review from, about this DV2, the sms is still using the basic feature, which there isn't any T9 in sms typing. Anyone can confirm on this? Well.. since I just change to K750i, then think I will not focus much on DV2 lah. :)

Hi Net, Well.. yes you still can but might only trade in with a very very low price. Or you can try to sell it online example post it to and wait for a potential buyer to approach you. This way, you might able to get a better price than trade in. Yes, most of the seller don't really like to take it as not many people looking for this brand. I won't want to say this brand is bad cause after using it for 2 weeks, this brand is not bad, just not up to my standard. I have already trade in my A20 last 2 weeks with only RM1k which I brough with RM1499. :( I think until today, the price should drop until RM14xx or it may already drop down to the low mark of RM1399. You may try to prove it yourself how wide "acceptance" of InnoStream by going to different shops at different places which I can tell you is that no that many places sell InnoStream phone. ;)

To those who is planning to switch from other brand to InnoStream, just to be prepared for the trade in issue. Yes, after having my A20 for 2 weeks, I decided to trade it off because of the 2 reasons: 1. Slow respond on sms, cause me is not those patient person. :p 2. Not very clear reception in some points but not all the time if compare to my SE k700i previously at the same location and same time. For those who plan to own any InnoStream phone, just be ready that you will have a HARD time to trade off when buying a new phone from the shop. During my trade off period with most of the shops at Sungai Wang and Lau Yat Plaza, I hardly trade it off with a price higher than RM1k and some shop don't even want to accept it as very few people looking for it. Unless you are selling it on the net, then it might be a different story as I didn't try it. ;) From most of the shop seller, I also getting this information from them that if you are going to buy InnoStream, just use it and "trade in" should not be in consideration at all in your mind.

I have called to a few handphone shops and also inno dealer shop asking for trade-in but they reject....so can anyone give suggestion? Well, I will be checking it out this weekend :-) Yes, the 16 million colors is superb :-) I read the review on DV1 and they commented fairly good. Diff b/w DV1 and DV2 is 3MP and 6MP and DV2 shld have better f/w & GUI :-) On DV2 u can even take pics and video and use as your setup menu/icon just like VS2 :-) cheers!

Hi guys, it me again, 'touch wood' i so far did not face any problem with my A20, it just nice, and i did hand-on the DV2 at the handphone counter, the camera mode nice, but i did not test the MP3, because the counter don't have the Mini-SD card, and i did monitor that the MENU is like like....not so nice lah... But with 6 megapixels is really impress me, but i still having see any of it print out yet..

Hi Li Tan. I haven't noticed any direct problems with the firmware yet, just the speed of sms writing and menu could be faster, and no big letters in the beginning when you type sms. Other than that, I have no complaints.. My girlfriend has the vs2 in pink, and the screen is magnificent! You can really see the difference in the colour, its much more vivid, and the qvga resolution is great too. So in screen department, the dv2 beats the inno a20.

Thks Bao. The DV2 has good quality screen - 16 Million colors, same as Panasonic VS2 :-) WOW! And the screen refresh rate is 30 flips/sec - that's DVD quality. I've heard of the xcute dv2 long time ago. If you want a phone with good camera and videorecording, you should go for dv2. If you want a phone with nice design and good buildt quality but slow UI, you should go for A20. I still love my A20 though. The mp3quality of A20 is superior to the dv2, also watching movies with A20 in full screen is nice. Audiowise A20, camerawise dv2.

I guess you are right, Viper. One of the other reasons for me to buy this phone is because I like underdogs with potensials. Even though this phone has its flaws, but I think Innos futurephones will just get better and better. Now they only need to implement bluetooth, qvga screen and camera with autofocus =)

For me, I used most of the brand before, like motorola, nokia, samsung, panasonic, sony ericsson. I think the reason this time I go for Innostream is because it is something else than the above brands. Different menu and look & feel. Like I mentioned before, if you see a phone that catch your eyes at the first sign, then you will most likely will go for it regardless of all the opinions you hear around.

Hi li tan, after i read all of your opinion, in myself, i feel you are really not happy with Korean phone. It may be true that you have a very bad experience with your VK Mobile phone. But this brand might be different. I'm not sure that you still remember a case on Ericsson T28. By that time, user brought the phone around 3K. But less than a month of using the phone, it cannot turn on. Send for service but after a month, same problem. That time people also complaint that Ericsson phone cannot use cause always cannot power on.... But today, the same people saying those words, is still using Ericsson phone but only the brand name is change to SonyEricsson. So what is the different between Ericsson and SonyEricsson. But a model have problem is not mean the brand is suck.....right. I still believe that, we should give a try to any brand as long we like the particular model......Hope you will not have bad feeling....... :)

Hi, is me again, the curly. It seem like have few people hav interest about INNO A20. About the pricing issue, is true Southall is selling at RM1599.00 even by the time i bought. I visit them and sorry to said no discount.:) Is normal for user to ask for discount, but a guy told me, they cannot give discount because of some biz issue. Than i realise is true cause if a distributor can easily get discount than no dealer will buy thing from them and as consumer also no need to buy thing from dealer. Advice....if want to buy, like li tan said, better buy from dealer at Low Yat. But hav to be cash term, if not need to pay extra charge for 3% when using credit card. Cheers......

So far no reception issue, voice able to hear by another party without any issue and the signal stay on as it should be. However I do face 2 times of signal drop inside my room. Think might cause by the unclean signal reception at my housing area. No usb cable file transfer issue. Able to perform as it should be, fast and error free. Well.. for sure SE able to do so, but I don't deny that their phone can be considered top edge even I go for Innostream this round. Anyone can post on the page what is the code for checking this phone's firmware? There is one and only 3D game, a track racing game. Just a normal time killing game, nothing fancy about it.

1. Yes, yes, pls state all the feature problems over this phone. 2. You all have been warned, Korean h/ps firmware/software are very buggy but their hardware is up to standard. I have bad experienced with VK mobile - AAArgh! 3. Aiyo! U call Southall, sure expensive - main distributor, sure cut throat. Go to Low Yat or Subang Parade - under RM1500. 4. One IMPORTANT question I forget to ask for those who owned this phone - HOW IS THE RECEPTION ON BOTH ENDS? 5. Price and feature are main concern when buying the phone - they must be value for money. W800 is toooooo expensive, but SE can do that cos they are the top three hp company- having the attitude: "u dun by, SO?" :-) 6. I own an Alcatel OT756. If any of u guys have budget below RM700 - this is a good phone. Problems: 1. Not a megapixel cam 2. 4MB share memory 3. NO Bluetooth thks!

Some standard information on the package for this phone: 1. Phone Set 2. Travel Charger 3. Standard Battery (1) 4. Stereo earpiece (which can plug in your own headphone) 5. USB cable (for PC) 6. User Manual 7. Phone string (leather, hmmm...) Basically the bad things about the phone would be more in the function/feature which I think is caused by the first version firmware and I hope Inno will come out the second version to fix all these issues soon. Just wondering anyone do bring their phone for firmware upgrade, any charges from Southall? I would like to compare this phone by the price of around RM14++ with others. For those would want feature this phone offered, you might want to consider the following as the feature is quite similar: 1. Sonny Ericsson W800i or 750i (but more expensive) 2. Motorola V3 (but low end camera and less memory space) 3. Panasonic VS2 (not good looking but cheaper in price) 4. But hey, come on guys, if you like the phone, you will go for it even it is expensive, less features compare to others. Why you might ask? Simple, because you like how the phone looks and you like the way you hold and use it, right? ;) Be honest, I think until now, no one will even find a phone which is having all the good things (almost perfect) that you want and yet with a price tag that is reasonable for everyone.

Aiya,i forgot to tell u guys that i try the earpiecet that in the package, this earpiece can be a converter and i can plug my Altec Lansing speaker in to the earpiece, good sound and then i Bass Boost came to place, i can have EXtra bass effect, good good good.

Hi guys, I discover few mistake from what i read from ur guys since i have A20. 1.The MP3 can be the ringtone and even u can set different MP3 to different type of caller group, this is wht i using now, biut first at all u need to store all ur MP3 to the default folder in MMC call' Sound '. 2. The voice memo i try to record all long as i can , i sing and i scream until 60min, haha, now i have a voice recorder. 3. I have download a converter from the site call download.com call Imtoo Mpeg converter, i convert the VCD MTV to MP4, good quatity, and even i can set as the wallpaper. 4. IFor MP3, i also discover that the side button can change the preset equalizer but if i press and hold for 3 sec, i can customise the equlizer and i have better quality of MP3 sound. 5.the sms is i argree is boring that cannot push any MP3 as the sms alert, Innostream should take note of that . 6. i try to download the Mflash that previouly mention through GPRS, i can have Mobile Karaoke and nice wallpaper and...even very sexy girl picture with song and speacial effect..haha.but only available for those knon mandarin bcox it it a chinese website. 7. the picture that i take with A20, i can view it and enlarge the picture wit the phone. Get want i mean? 8. Actually i did experince the service in southall also when my Inno 90 time, i take me only 2 hour bcox i request i want to have it back at the same day, since i already onleave on that day. but maybe different people will have different luck, or maybe i Handsome hahaha 9. I too am serious abt. getting this phone. But knowing this phone is from Korea, only 1 service center in PJ,Kelana Jaya and have bad experienced owing a Korean phone (VK mobile), I need to play safe. Hence, wait for another six months for users feedback (eg. Curly & Viper & MIT) to get to Inno for them to do the changes. From there, get the new batches of A20. Having said that, it doesn't mean the 2nd batch will be 100% OK :-) If you are VERY serious abt. this phone, go to Southall, Kelana Jaya, near the MAS office. Ask them what is the defect rate for INNO-A20 and also ask what are the main complaints ppl use come with with this phone. Also ask when is the new SW coming. OK-back to A20: 1. Only preset tone for SMS & MMS - LIMITATION!!! BOOO!!!!!! 2. Poor battery life span - LIMITATION!!! BOOO!!!! 3. Same ringtone for all profile set - LIMITATION!!! BOOO!!! 4. Camera at the side, difficult to catch a funny moment - LIMITATION!!! BOOO!!! Sorry guys, I didn't mean to whack on INNO-A20. It's quite pricy RM14XX & I need to be careful on my next h/p. Hi there everyone, I'm seriouly considering getting this phone but i have some reservations about the brand in particular its after sales service quality and the phone's long term quality. Apart from that i'm oso worried that the phone may get into problems as seen in the other phones before this as i intend to use it for quite a while before changing it. And some question about it's swivel action whther those who r currently using it does it feel in anyway loose or wobbly. Apart from that i would oso like to know of if the phone has stereo surround speakers like the p10. Apart from that if the current users would b kind enough to let me know whaat comes along with the phone as a standard package (ie battery, usb cable etc) thank you all so much...

Just add in more comments about the phone... Curly is right about the ring tone. I did try out different mp3 files and it is very closely related to the coding of the mp3 file. If you have a mp3 file which code it with high bass, then you might spoil your phone speaker, be careful. Yes instead the speaker audio is clear, no doubt about that. About the item 3, I did try it and it is able to vibrate and ring at the same time leh. :) If anyone have a mp4 encoder software, use it and convert any movie file to mp4 and play it in this phone, the quality is nice and smooth. About the mp3 player in this phone. Well.. good and bad. The nice thing about the player is that you can adjust a lot of the sound quality. Again, the down side is you can't really turn up the bass booster as you might spoil the speaker as the sound output might be too great for the speaker to handle.

Just to give my opinion on the phone, 1. ringtone loudness is very depend on the file coding. There is software that can boost up the volume. But for A20, speaker audio is very clear. 2. I agree with Viper that SMS part is bit slow. And for user friendly, is very depend to user and how long he/she using the phone. Like now, if you ask me to use nokia phone, i will feel is not user friendly cause i'm not familiar to the menu. And this is my problem and not the phone itself..... :) 3. No, it only work one way, mean either melody or vibrate. 4. Only preset tone for SMS & MMS. But there are 11 type of tone still can choose....:( 5. I notice is good for me when i take photo from different angle. I only need to adjust the camera and view finder screen. 6. It only last me for 2 day without switching off. This might because of dual color screen. :( 7. I had printed the photo and it look okay for me. Just like 2megapixel photo. Maybe i'm not expert. 8. Is just a bright light but very useful as torch light. Most of the flash the build in phone is same cause i had compare my A20 with E398 and K700, is same. 9. No. 10. I give it 7.5/10 There is some other feature that i would like to share. a) Auto respond - work as answering machine b) Voice recording for 60 minutes c) Support video format 3GP and MP4 d) Flight mode - switch off network but phone still on e) Full screen movie playback f) Mp3 with equalizer setting

0. Check out whether a guy William is there? He fixes these phones. He is rude at times. Usually u need to place the phone 1 week to for them to do some diagnostic. 1. Check it out :-) 2. Poor algorithm coding. 3. - 4. BOO!!!! 5. Well, if it loose they can tighten it. But once u drop any flip phone - bye bye RM1XXX 6. What??? Only 3 days. I also switched off my phone (ALcatel OT756) before going to bed and battery last 7 days or more. 7. OK. 8. Then the flash is just a gimmick. 9. OK. So far this is my first Inno phone, hope I don't face any issue if I need to go for Southall's service. 1. As I didn't heard SE750i ringtone before, so, can't answer you this. 2. More or less the same, but just slower in respond. 3. Yes. 4. Only can use the preset tone for the sms. 5. Ha ha, this will depend on individual. For me, I'll find it still ok. It is really depend on your habbit. So far, I don't find the part get loose until now. ;) 6. I like to open and close my phone and think this cause the phone's battery last for 3 days only. 7. Not yet try to print, so can't tell you this yet. 8. The flash light you can turn on or let it be in auto mode which will flash when you take the picture. But for me, the "power" of the flash is very weak. Don't think you can even compare with the flash of a Digital Camera and it is not fare to compare also cuase this is only a phone. 9. No. For my point of view, I can only give this phone 6/10 even I have brought it. :)

Dear Curly & Viper; Thks for info. I'm careful NOW when buying a Korean h/p, esp the service center is from Southall as I have bad experienced using VK mobile. Questions: 1. Are the MP3 ringtones as loud as SE K750i? I now own an Alcatel OT756 and the MP3 ringtone are soft but still able to hear it ring. 2. How's the SMS texing? Is it user friendly as Nokia's? 3. Does it vibrate and ring at the same time? 4. For the incoming SMS, can u select MP3 as ringtone or the preset ones in the h/p only? 5. Don't u find it difficult to take pic/videos when the camera is at the side? U always need to twist the h/p and this will eventually loosen the nuts and bolts. Yikes! 6. How long does the battery last? I know it's 200 hrs on standby but on normal usage and standby - around 5 days before another charge takes place? 7. How you tried printing out the photos as to see the algorithm? 8. Is it flash like the actual digital camera or just one bright shining light? 9. Does it have macro mode? 10. Pls rate 1(lousy) - 10 (Best) thks;

Inno A20 not just support RS-MMC, it also support MMC. For MMC, I had my with 1GB. No delay in phone function. :)

Ya, in order to know (feel) how's the menu work, it is best to try it out personally. ;) Anyhow, the menu is very similar to all Korea phone, like Samsung. Usage is ok even not the best. It is bit like Nokia also but still can't compare with Sony Ericsson menu. About the profile and its ring tone, yes, you can't set different ring tone for each profile, all are using the same tone. This phone is using reduce size MMC (not SD) which come together with a adapter. The transfer speed is fast, at least to me. One MP3 with 3Mb in size, get transfer less than 10 seconds into both the phone or the memory card.

Some typo in my previous message. :p If you are not using any bluetooth headset, then this phone which don't come with bluetooth is alright. Unless you plan to exchange a lot of files with your friend who is having a bluetooth phone. Oh ya, I get mine from Lowyat Plaza for RM1499.

Got mine a few weeks ago. Notice a few down side for this phone. First is the key-press speed. If you do compare the respond time with either Nokia or Sony Ericsson, you will notice it is a bit slower (half a second). If you are a fast sms typer, you might find the phone just can't catch up with your speedy typing. This goes the same when you click thru the menu/option. For the firmware installed, I do face 2 times the phone hang after getting out from the web browsing. Not sure what cause it. Hope this issue will be fixed by the new firmware (if there will be any). About the 2M camera, well.. I don't have any other camera phone which is higher than VGA mode to compare with, this phone camera quality is consider ok, just the image quality is a bit dark, might need some tool to adjust it. Video quality is quite nice, at least able to capture in higher frame per second. Personaly I like the phone as it has a nice build and quality. Ringing tone is very loud if you are using MP3. But for midi tone, it is too soft. Well.. no bluetooth which it should have but if you are using any bluetooth headset, then you can live with it, isn't it? ;)

Inno A20 build-in with speakerphone. The LCD resolution is 176x220 pixel. The review that mention 352x288 is refering to Camcorder resolution. I had a unit of Inno A20, I didn't understand what does it mean LCD plastic. But for my understanding, when I purchase my Inno A20, it comes with one transparent plastic cover LCD prevent scratches. For sure that plastic will drop out cause is not part of the phone. :)

Thanks for the update, Curly. Well, I do hope the innostream is not as bad as VK mobile. The price is now RM1550 at Subang Parade. Somehow the ringtone of SE K750i is very loud when i copared both phones. but this A20 is sleek and it has that plasma scree feel-like over the LCD. well, if any of u guys own one, pls. let me know how it goes cos i might be getting it WHEN it goes below RM1k :-)

Inno A20 build-in with mobile flash which can use as torch light.... :) And for service innostream phone, i does not have problem with Southall. Their service is very fast. Minor repair or upgrade software, it just take 1 hour. I does not face the long waiting like Li Tan stated. I had check with Southall engineer, according to them, for those minor problem or obvious problem which does not stand-by the phone, it only take 1 hour. For those problem which happen intermittenly, than need more time (those 'now you see' , 'now u don't) CHEERS!!!!!

The A20 cost around RM1600++. I have tried the phone for 10 mins and here are my comments: 1. clamshell is solid. 2. ringtones are loud and clear 3. 2 MP camera and 262k LCD is superb - though I have not taken a shot and print it out to see the quality of the algorithm. 4. When trying out the SMS-T9, trying to type "hello", it came out "krekko" The buying a Korean h/p, check on the SMS feature, check for bugs as they tend to make h/p without going through the h/p software throughly. To all the Malaysians, when buying SE, VK mobile and Innostream h/p where the distributor and service centre is SOUTHALL, be careful. This is because there are only 2 engineers repairing thousands of h/p and they require 1 week to fix your phone :-( Cheers!

I own an innostream phone myself. It's Inno99. It is quite a good phone. With the great display and an average design. A20 provide more features and i was thinking of getting it. But without bluetooth is really a point to reconsider. What is a phone without bluetooth nowaday? If you are talking bout security, we doesn't activate the bluetooth 24hours per day.

Anyone knows if this phone is released in K.L. Malaysia yet? It's already being advertised on the Innostream webside. So far there is no review about this model anywhere in the world!
