I've been using this phone for the past +5 years. Never treated it really carefully, dropped it sometimes, but it was really solid and nothing ever happened. Great metal built. Always working very smoothly, no lags - I was able to play some basic games like chess or 2d and simple 3d games. While still on warranty I had some internals changed and fixed. After almost 6 years of extensive use I started having problems with phone getting extra warm and getting stuck with black screen and LG logo on it. It kept happening once-twice a week, sometimes once a month. Changed the battery but the issue remained. Now, decided to buy Lumia 650 as I found a new one for about 130 euro (looking at the specs I think this is absolutely maximum it should cost). We'll see what is new 650 worth comparing to this cool, old mate.

I had the same problem with my phone and it was boxed for more than a year, then I decided to open and check it, I use some electronic cleaner on its circuits and then put a bit of heat with a hairdryer, after five minuts resting, I put all pieces togheter and try to start again... Voilá, it's working perfectly, this save me some bucks I was pretending to spend in a new smarthphone.

I have this phone today 09.14.2014. I have never had problems with it. It is fast,good looking phone,made from good materials,sensitive touch,nice display-colors,quality calss Contra: battery life to short,missing bluetooth transfer,cannot find alot of applications,like android have,doesn't have microsd slot and meniu style is a minus. I like more android style. I think it is a good phone if you bought it like new,not refurbished. Never had problem upgrading from 7,5 to 7,8 mangoo.cheers

My brother had this phone for 2 years. It is one of the best phones ever made. The user experience was phenomenal, it never had any lag, it was super smooth. It never froze or restarted it self for no reason. During its work, it was not restarted in 12 months, it didn't need reboot to function smoothly and properly, unlike all the other smartphones in the world. 3G data and WiFi and GPS was always on, and it never needed reboot for 12 months, just plug it to charger every night and continue to use it the next day without ever noticing the phone to slow down. It had metal cover and excellent build quality. We just simply loved this phone. When we sold it (6 months ago), it didn't had one scratch on it, it looked like new. It started its life as WP 7.0 then we updated it to 7.5 and then to WP 7.8. WP 7.8 was an excellent operating system and LG did an excellent job with this phone to make it work flawlessly. Windows 8.1 is significantly slower. We have two WP8 phones (Samsung Ativ S and Nokia 630). The Nokia 630, although it has 6 times the processing power, it is still slower than the Optimus 7.

I think I'm going to smash this junk now, first I replaced the touch pad twice, then I had to clean the camera couple of times, and now - firmware is corrupted and there is no way to access the phone by any FLASH software program, and the phone itself is so useless, you can't do almost anything with it, you can't even FLASH it. If someone gives me a new one for free, I would not accept it.

In using this phone for most of the day, it's not too bad. Screen is decent and overall it is easy to use. However, my main issue is that the Windows Marketplace that was loaded on this phone no longer works. Apparently, it no longer works for any Windows 7 phones. It needs to be updated and I can't seem to find out how to do it. If you know how to do it, please let me know. Also, I was talking with my wife on the phone for approx. 12 minutes and already the handset was very warm to the ear and touch. I couldn't believe it would heat up that much for only 12 minutes of talk time. Not even my old iphone 3GS did that. Anyhow, it's an okay phone but there are better ones out there. I'll be giving this back to my friend this weekend.

I finally figured it out. To hard reset your phone, you need to hold down Power, both volume buttons, camera AND home button. Hold for approx 5 secs and it will reset your phone.

i heard that many are facing problems on this lg e900...i too have same problem.. never mind its simple tricky i found it out dudes.. just take out the battery and keep charging in the universal battery charger which contains two pins like positive and negative.. connect them properly and charge it to full extension..after that keep the battery in mobile and charge it. thats it.. it works. however i am an Indian..where my brother brought it from Australia..i have undergone several service centers but no use of it.. one day i tried it my own..and found out that the LG phone requires full battery incase if it is hanged. hmmmm...in case any details u need text me up to my id.. thank u

For those who can't upgrade officialy the phone via zune,in order to so you have to have it first developer locked & then unlock it after the update.I did update it without the tricky internet method.the only difference I saw it was on the menu colour wich gave more colours..that's all..

I bought it and sold it few months ago..The Battery can't last more than 14 hours even if you buy high capacity with very little use..it overheats while in charge,playing games,talking on the phone.everything in marketplace needs to be bought,it has very few good free apps!And of course...you get stuck with internet explorer!And every browser is like internet explorer!even other apps are based on internet explorer interface!You can't install apps out of market place if you don't root it,something that you can do in any android phone

I´ve had this phone for 2 years now. Overall experience is not bad, it's a good machine but with some apointments to LG. First, we had the "hotspot" issue, the firmware that LG had but didn't release to all clients. Still don't have it, but some owners got it from their carriers, like Vodafone Italy and Germany. I'm portuguese btw. After many emails between me and LG support they told me that is up to the carriers to decide to give the firmware update, i explained that my phone is unbranded, no carrier. No answer and no solution from LG or Microsoft, terrible. I should also tell you that LG support sucks, it seems they don't know what they are talking about, they disagree with you, you prove them wrong, they say no such update, you prove them wrong, and on and on for a few emails. Second, last update, WP 7.8, same thing, no support, 'till this day i don't have an answer from LG, gladly i got it from Zune. Conclusion, somewhat happy with WP platform, but my experience with LG support was so negative that i'll never buy anything from them again.

I had this phone for 6 months and from the start I had problems. The phone overheats whilst charging, regularly causing it to restart. It also overheats when you use it for an extended period of time (15 minutes or more - which is a relatively common amount of time to use on a smartphone!). For some reason, WhatsApp in particular really overheats the phone. When it gets to a certain temperature, it turns off and restarts, but often gets stuck on the LG logo at the start. Finally after doing this for 6 months it won't turn on at all. Total waste of money. Do not buy!

I'm a phone dealer and I have an opportunity to try out a lot of different phones. Here is my short review of 1 year used LG E900 Optimus 7: BUILD QUALITY(the chassis): Top notch, no screeching, wobbling or anything like that. The only place that paint could fall off of is the camera part. DISPLAY: while it's not as good as on some flagship phones, its still good enough considering it is a TFT. Sunlight legibility is average, not good, but not bad either. Viewing angles are average. TELEPHONY: telephony and signal reception is trouble-free, the earpiece sound is clean enough is pretty loud. Be careful not to set the earpiece volume on maximum all the time because the earpiece sound could get a bit screechy with time. Hold it at 8/10 or 9/10, maximum only if you have to. CAMERA: while the photo quality is slightly above average for a 5 MPix league, video quality is somewhat troubling. The amount of details in videos are still good but the framerate can only be maintained at declared 24 fps where the daylight is alomost perfect. In the darker areas framerate drops to about 17 fps, but overall, average framerate hovers about 20-21 fps. GPS: it's fast to acquire a lock and keep a strong reception. The rest of the phone is pretty much the same as you get with all WP7 phones, so there is no need to go into it further.

Nice phone, I use it as my second phone for about a year, it is really good, WP7 OS is fast and nice, camera is not the best, but it is ok. WP7 OS is much nicer than Android 2.x. Sure Android 4.x is more advanced, but at that time when it was bought there were no other options. It will be real pitty if it will not get WP 7.8

My HTC Titan didn't handle on or two drops on the floor.... Had to replace it and decided not to go for anoter expensive handset. I replaced it with this LG E900 and really, it is really solid and well built. Like someone said, its like a well built Nokia. The only thing I miss is the great screenpanel of the Titan. Will also miss the 7.8 update. But it works as-is.

I have this phone for almost an year, and it is the best I've had so far. Much better than the Android phones actually. It has much more personality. Anyway, LG released 2 updates for the time period both Mango and Tango. My only concern is with the 7.8 update. The information about it is based on some polish website where someone asked and he was told by an LG "official" it won't get any update. I have my computer assembled with parts of different manufacturers and it still gets windows updates, I really hate it is up to the phone manufacturer to decide whether or not his device will be updated.

This phone is awesome. If any flaw, I recommend a bigger battery be bought. But, it is super tough. I punch it (I kid you not), and I cannot shatter the screen. I've had it maybe 1.5 years, and it's easy to use, sober, drunk, whatever. My parents use it too now thanks to my recommendation, and they have never had smartphones before this. For the cheap price, great value.

As of the 31 August 2012 I will not be able to use the data side as the company I work for has moved carriers Vodafone to Telstra. Does any one know as my phone is suitable for 3G Network HSDPA 900/1900/2100 Which will not support Telstra Next G, However the HSDPA 850/1900 made in North America will. Follow all the instructions and download all the files and do as it says. TIPS: Forget about the 4,5 and 6 Steps/parts because you can't get into it as your phone is stuck at LG logo. hold down the volume - , camera and power button at the same time and connect the phone to the pc through the data cable. When you run the the application LGDP2_V36_UMTS.exe and select all COM ports in the upper left,press start and wait for 10 to 15 min then it will definitely start flashing your phone,wait till it reaches 100% and it says reset.You will now have 7 Version then connect to Zune via data cable and upgrade your phone to 7.5 Mango....Good Luck.

I used HTC Surround for a month and now i'm using LG E900. The main Disappointment was the battery it couldn't even survive a 12hrs with 3G on. And When i upgraded it to Mango the phone seems little bit of lagging. Then i switched to E900 and it is a rocky besides the sunlight legibility. The physical navigation button are better than the HTC buttons, and a really nice solid built. Call quality is very good too. The nicest thing is the battery with 3G on and when running whole bunch of background apps it could survive 18-20 hrs. With battery saver on mine lasted for 1.5 days.

I do not recommend this phone nor any other LG phones at all. A couple hundred of us got these phones from a competition and most of them (including 4 of the 8 of us in Jamaica) had their phones bricked or some other hardware problem. (freezes at LG screen) Most of us are software engineers so of course we exhausted all software fixes and nothing. When doing an internet search, people with later models of this phone's hardware have the same problem so it seems LG didn't fix existing hardware faults. During my 1 year use of the phone, I had sound problems (sound going on and off) due to the hardware thinking there is a headphone plugging in and out. Phone. Not. good.

There is no hangup problem but I would suggest to buy Android based mobile, Although the WM 7 and 7.5 are good but for Andoid you will have virtually un-limited apps. Good luck!!!! BTW I have LG E900 and loving it. :)

I just recently updated the OS of my Optimus E900. This was an update done after the Mango release. Now: -OS: 7.10.8107.79 -FW: 1.0.16.10 -HW: 1.0.0.0 -Radio: 1.0.16.10 -Radio HW: 0.3.5.0 -Bootloader: 1.5.1.0 -Chip SOC: 0.30.2.0 I don't know which of those version was updated since I don't keep track of the previous version. Now after the update, I have a new function under Setting called Internet Sharing. My phone now can act as a WiFi router. I tried to check updates for my other 2 Windows Phone Dell Venue Pro and HTC Surround, but no more update available after being updated to Mango. Both my Dell Venue Pro and HTC Surround don't have the Internet Sharing function. It could be that the latter two phone don't really support it or they don't have the hardware to make it happen. I now love my LG Optimus more, because of this new function. Question now is, what other Windows Phone that can do Internet Sharing?

I've had the phone for 3 months now. works great, but i just discovered that it does not have secondary camera, which was to my surprise! this means when making online calls, or 3G calls, the other side can't see each other while talking. Huge disappointment. I'm selling my phone to replace it with another that has that feature. iphone is an option.

Battery life is much lower than I expected Marketplace is not available everywhere (not available for me also) and this is a big big MINUS becouse there is no other way to have your favorite apps and games. The phone looks very good, display is high quality, performance in navigation, menu and games is incredible, I never saw a lag. Camery is very good. I recommend it to people where marketplace is available.

Its a good buy. Sound quality is poor but you become efficient with 3G to HSDPA speed. Seamless integration. Camera quality is so so.. Overall its ok.

I have the same problem, in the middle of a call the voice disappears, although the call-duration indicator is still going on. Another thing is when a call is established, there's a few seconds of silence, and usually you end up saying "hello, can you hear me?" Really annoying! Can anyone help?

If you look closely at the specifications of LG devices with Windows Phone 7, java script is list as no or NA same for Samsung. Whereas HTC WP7 Phone have java script included in their specifications. It is something tha manufacturer can or can not include.

The answer would be NO. Simply becuase of the hardware, which is specifically design for WP7. LG does have a varient of this phone availible with Android OS which uses different hardare, such as OS specific buttons.

One key reason I would not choose this phone, is that there is no Java script available. It's unfortunate enough that the WP7 OS has no support for a flash player of any sort, but no Java either! No Thanks. Don't get me wrong though, I do have a LG phone ( my older phone) and I love how everything works and all the features it supports and LG has a history of good reliability. If I were to choose a WP7 device right now the HTC is the only brand supporting Java.

Hi Guys, I got this handset some 1 month back with Orange in London. It was recommended by a Orange Advisor only. LG Optimus 7 is one of the best smart phones ever made...infact it is the true I-phone/Android killer. I got LG due to 16GB memory and stylish design, I was also not satisfied with HTC Mozart and Samsung Omnia though omnia has a bigger screen size but still 8 GB memory. The OS is amazing, super fast and Brand New...its a delight to use this phone...U will be hooked to it for the first 7 days for sure. Talking abt the technical details..yes this one doesn't have a skype in built in and U cant even download one but" MICROSOFT HAS JUST BOUGHT SKYPE IN $5 BILLION" today that means Skype is no more skype but a Microsoft product which will be available for this and other windows phones very soon!!! Camera is great but U need to judge which setting to use when! Wifi cant be better as its rocket fast. None of the brands have the facebook merged in this stylish and effective way...it imports all FB contacts in a just a minutes time and u always have the current updates ready. I was initially not satisfied with the APPS but I have seen microsoft's collection; those are very practical and great apps to use (free apps) and yes not every app is free but still there is a huge variety avlble. last but not the least, Battery is not that great but then remember it still gives you 1 and 1/2 days stand by on normal usage where I phone is almost dead and requires a daily charge. Remember such phones drain battery fast due to always on wifi and high end graphics...LG is still better and far ahead than HTC Mozart and Samsung omnia. I heard about the heat issues, so the first time I charged it, I removed the back cover. But there was no issue at all! The phone gets only slightly warm when charging, definitely cooler than any of the other phones I had before.

i got this phone 3 days ago and i was very happy with it, till i tried to personalize the ring tone and message tones to my own music just to find out that this phone does not have that feature. Nobody likes the little beep beep tones that a phone comes with, the personalization of ring tones should seriously be just a basic feature that every phone comes with. Now that is just problem number 1, the blue tooth is just as bad, i had friends and family trying to send me stuff and its was not working, later found out that the bluetooth is only for hands free devises n stuff like that. You can not blue tooth to any other phone.

One firm push on the power button should awake the phones screen (display) A longer push and hold of the button (3 secs ) to turn it on or off. As for the black display after a phone call is immediately disconnected, it takes a second or 2 to display end call. This maybe because the duration of the call is longer than the timed setting you have your phone set on IE 1, 3 , or 5 mins (sleep mode) and is a power saving feature or you have a problem, but Iam guessing the first one is more likely.

I like it, but i have some problems, like the display wont start when i press the power button everytime, i have to press 3, 4 times until it lights up, same black screen happens when i end an call, so i take the phone from my ear and it is black and i have to press once to shut the display and then again to light up the display. Other than that it works fine. I have never seen anyone posting this problem so i think my LG has a problem and should sent it to warranty, or is it Windows Phone 7 fault and should wait for the update in march ? Thanx a lot

Oh Yeah, MS gives you a half dozen LAME ringtones,and a half dozen LAME alert tones, but don't worry, there are more LAME ringtones to buy thru their apps system. Want to assign your own ringtones? NO PROBLEM, no problem "cause you can't do it, and MP3s are not even compatible with W7 mobile. That was so 90's, choosing your own ringtone, didn't you want to be a clone anyway? cool then, thanks M$ you are simultaneously crashtackling Android and Ifone with this.(note sarcasm)

Windows 7 is making this phone the Beta vidio tape of the smartphone world. Each company likes to make it's product different in some way to stand out from the competition. W7 has defined itself by: No compatibility to widely used software like ADOBE FLASH PLAYER, NO SKYPE, non compatibility to widely used media software like MP3, XVID etc etc. A user needs to go back to the old PC to get anything like this and translate it using the ZUNE software into something the W7 package can digest, and then it's on the phone, no longer pallatable to other software. Luckily the W7 E 900 has not got any real bluetooth capabiliy to send anything anyhow. The only hope is that M$ are leaving room for improvement so they can cash in later, marketing a serious version of W7. No wonder the SKYPE people couldn't justify developing software for W7. In a nutshell, before buying any W7 based phone, consider surfing the net without a flash player. An app is there to get you capability for Youtube,(like another layer of search engine between the user and youtube) otherwise online video content is excluded for W7 and the E 900

I love my Optimus 7!I have it for almost 3 months.It fits really nice in your hand and it has really nice build quality! The 3.8" capacative touch screen is really nice with the Gorilla Glass.I found it an excellent all rounder, with most of the problems being with the OS which will hopefully be patched soon.The connections to WiFi and network are also brilliant and really does have a strong connection that has not timed out on me once and it's speed is quality.

Excellent phone. Application loading is fast, starup is fast, shutdown phone is fast. Only flaws I could think of is the Windows Phone 7 software side.

Thanks. I figured no 3rd party software could wake the phone under lock condition. After 3rd servicing, the problem was resolve. LG changed the main board after I keep complaining its likely to be hardware issue. Maybe heat makes certain component(s) malfunction.

How come you could say that?? there is no Android version... there is no 9.7 mpx camera and overall the phone samples where available 2 months before the launching. Be serious when posting. I do work in LG so I know what I am talking about.

Basically, this phone is a serious competition in the smart phone arena. When I just bought the phone the initial weeks experience were fantastic. Now I need anyone with technical knowledge to help answer a few questions: 01. When you press the BACK button all the way back to the start screen, will 3rd party programs be capable to continue running OR send notification to phone hardware? According to Microsoft, 3rd party program will be in standby once it is sent to background, are they lying in any way? 02. When you press the power button once to lock (turn off) the screen, what are the possible events that may turn on the screen (when the phone is not wired to charger or PC)? From experience, even SMS or email notifications only give audible alert - the display remain turn off.

I have it from 2 days, and I am really impressed. M$ have done a gread job. I had the opportunity to compare LG 7 with Samsung Omnia 7, and yes without doubt I could say that the Super Amoled is much better. LG 7 looks and feels much more massive, and I prefer it to Samsung Omnia 7. The battery performance is also very good - last night it was not fully charged and on the next day after a heavy use there were some life left at the end of the day. I am happy that didn't opt for the power hungry HTC Desire HD. I am totally disappointed from the navigation service of WP7. It is totally not usable in Bulgaria, when you search in Sofia (the capital), all results are totally irrelevant. All navigation apps in the marketplace are ridiculous (even the paid), hope the guys from Redmond have not revealed their cards yet.

I had been using this phone for 4 weeks now and I can claim this phone to be way ahead than iPhone and any other smart phone. (Previously I was an iPhone user). Excellent reception, No call drops,Security features, smooth phone browsing, Sub search options, speed, W7 Facebook, Easy previous call lookup while on the call are some exceptional features. I never expected LG coming to this level. I can guarantee that if LG can place this product in the market in a different way, Steve Jobs will have to find another Job. I got the LG Optimus about a week ago. I had an iPhone 3G before that. It looks and feels great. Build quality is very impressive and WP7 is very smooth! I highly recommend it.

For those who keep saying it doesn't have video calling, it just came out and all ready they are doing updates scheduled for sometime in Jan 2011. Let's just wait and see, but we do know one thing they are better than Sony Ericsson who can't get anything right and Blackberry who is still making stone age phones.

After both searching the internet and recently speaking to lg customer service Lg says bluetooth file transfer from other bluetooth devices is not currently possible only bluetooth in car connection is. Microsoft phone updates are rumored to begin early 2011 to hopefully correct this.I have also read that MS will be adding features like voice to the navigation app for safer driving. I guess we'll know more when the updates begin.

Just got this phone a day ago and I like it a lot. I initally hesitated to buy it, with HTC Desire having a lower price here. After playing with both a bit, I realised that the user experience this phone provides suits me better than that of the Desire. Almost everything related to is is just stunning: from the smooth fonts, the stylish colors of the UI to the details in the Office / People hub. The keyboard is amazing. I was able to type really fast on it even though I'm not skilled at all with typing on touchscreens. The only drawbacks I've noticed are: - you can't remove Windows Live contacts from your people hub - No smart dialing

I wanted to congratulate LG for this phone, its a great phone, no freeze, so smooth and fast, so many useful applications, my only problem is that radio only and only works with a headphone, and actually its easy to learn, i'm not a techie guy so i dont do that much of copy paste, but if you do lots of copy paste wait for it to come then buy this phone

I hope that lg or Microsoft can provide a down loadable firmware fix for this bluetooth issue. It's strange that my optimus 7 pairs with my cars bluetooth hands free kit and works perfectly, yet it can't send or receive files to another bluetooth handset. It identifies all other sources of bluetooth devices, but fails to send or receive information. The only other quirk I have is not being able to personalize my ring tones with my own music. Other than that everything else with this phone is quite good and I especially like it's navigation features. I have downloaded and installed several apps without any issues thus far. It's basically a compact computer, GPS navigator,organizer,FM radio if you connect to the 3.5mm jack,camera phone and prety much anything else you want it to be with 16 gig of internal memory all rolled into one. Operation is smooth and quick enough. Speaker quality is nothing to rant about but acceptable. Expect to charge the battery daily if you are using it to it's full potential. As with all new phones there are trade offs but generally speaking LG seems to be heading in the right direction. Just fix the bluetooth and ring tone issues for me and I'll be even happier with my new toy.

Review update: 1-It will not wake up and ring the Alarm Clock 2-Internet Explorer with just 6 tabs 3-The worst scenario that happened to me, is that it froze, and needed to RESTART. (I added a new tile to the start menu, and it didn't responded anymore to commands.) 4-It kicks me sometimes out of installed apps.

Well after using now this phone for few days now, I can say: Great expectation - poor delivery. From the hardware point of view and feature's list, it's a more than reasonable setup for a modern smart phone. (1GHZ, 512MB, 16 GB HDD, 5Megapix cam, nice display) From the OS point of view, it's very limited. Small keyboard, phone book issues, just paid Ring tones (let's be serious) and only in download format. There is no access to the phone (namely to the files). A not to intuitive OS in my opinion. Software looks like a quick mock up in order to offer something to the users (very poor). Overall conclusion is : It looks fine, like a beautiful apple, but after you open it, it's like a wroten apple. (A beautiful wrotten apple)

Actually this phone is the best windows 7 phone on the market today. Do some research and you will see that only Iphone is marginally smaller and quicker but it does not have some of the features unique to LG. The price is also about $10 a month less. Google any phone and you will find they all have their disadvantages.

i used this phone the past 5 months and must say the high res screen is great to work with 960x480 pixels retina display and could also create nice pictures, with a 9.7mp camera it must be:D:D only thing is that the android version 1.6 it runs with is still a bit buggy. overall a great phone!

What I really love about this phone more than other WP7 is that this has the best design. Personally I am so going for this phone. Samsung Omnia7 is great but I would still go for LG.

I held that phone in my hands yesterday. I wasn't very impressed, It's unusually wide, the screen doesn't have good viewing angles. Finally, the lack of GPS navigation with offline maps means I'll be buying another Nokia. In Europe there's a border every few hundred kms, who would pay for roaming charges.

Let me just say that the WP7 phone does have multi-tasking but only for native apps. It doesn't let 3rd party apps to do things in the background and why should if it's a dodgy application. I can have IE downloading a webpage and I can be checking my email not a problem. In fact my 3 email accounts they seem to download all at the same time. Rest of the shortcomings like cut-paste will be fixed or are not so important. Updates work great, already had 2nd update for some of my apps. I have the htc mozart but maybe should have gone for the LG. No probs with my htc though so far, works well! Great experience so far, can't complain and also syncs with the cloud. I won't mention the zune or xbox factors much. There are some things that would change but updates will arrive.

Windows Phone 7 doesn't use Google maps, it uses Bing maps. Maybe google maps will be available later, but Bing maps are as good as google's counterpart. User expirience is quite good, pinch and zoom works great, navigation is available etc.

I personally tried out the phone. The phone definately kills Andriod if it has more apps available in the marketplace. All WP7 requirement is 1Ghz processor. Hence, this phone is has very smooth usage performance. Overall, you just got to try the WP7 rather than listening to ppl crapping all over.
