  • The best combination of touchscreen with a normal physical keys! Samsung or LG must make 5.0 or 6.0 touchscreen phone with a slide down normal physical keys. Yes the phones will be much thicker but there will be people who want it, because touch screen is only faster for web browsing and texting.

  • it'is not an Android OS, it's a S - CLASS user interface. very rare, not many apps where made for that OS, as far as I know...

  • its not on android. Its a standard LG OS. It does have access to the web and facebook, but there isnt really any apps you can download.

  • For the people who are planning on buying this phone, I would highly advise NOT to. Apart from the looks, this phone is absolute crap (it's LG.....duh!). I purchased this phone last year, and before buying it, I did quite a bit of research on this phone. The main concern I had was its realiability, but I didn't believe the other reviews since I take good care of my stuff, so I pretty much thought that my phone wouldn't have any problems. Well, I was wrong. The first LG GD900 I had had a few problems that were really annoying. The screen would randomly flicker and the phone would randomly restart. I returned my first phone for a replacement GD900 thinking that it would be all good. WRONG. The 2nd phone had the exact same problems as the first phone, PLUS even more problems! Not only does the screen randomly flicker, the touchscreen will also randomly decide to not register any taps (this usually occurs after making a call). I regret purchasing this phone and I would definitely NOT recommend this to anyone.

  • there is a sensor on the top of the phone near the secondary camera. this sensor causes the screen to go black when anything gets near it. the logic behind that is that when the phone is near your ear, the screen won't work so you don't by mistake hang up or press anything. keep your finger away from that sensor and the screen will light back in a second.

  • Hey Just my phone is the same black screen when someone is calling and I do not touch anything and I can not see if anyone is calling, the same when i make the calls out, the screen goes blank and i can not press any button also, but my ear or finger is no near the sreen. So when I want to listen to my voicemail i can not delete or save any message cos none of the buttons is working.....

  • This phone is really the best I've ever used. I'm not thinking of disposing it even after buying the lg optimus that is currently reigning in my mind. It has its own peculiar characteristics that are unrivalled even by latest phones. Can't stop using it.

  • Am I the only one who hasn't had any problems with this phone? I love it! My screen goes black when someone calls as well, but i simply move my finger away from the sensor at the top and it lights up again. I'm extremely happy with the quality, style and design. I've had this phone for 19 months now and I've had a lot of phones before this one, and so far, it's the best phone I have ever owned! I guess yous are all just unlucky!

  • the reason it goes black is because something is blocking the light sensors at the top of the phone. it goes dark when you have your ear up against the phone when talking because it senses that your ear is there so you don't touch the screen and press something accidentally while your on the phone. a lot of touch screens have this feature, its nothing you should be worried about :)

  • to any one having his phone freezing especially after turning screen light off, its sure because of the SIM installed. try to change it and the problem will be gone. I tried it myself and its now working very great.

  • LG is elegant and I paid 2000 mal ringgits for it which puts it as one of the premiere brands. I am not happy with the phone because other than the touchscreen and bluetooth features, it is really lagging behind compared to Nokia 3g and Iphone. There is no automatic reminder. If you want to remind yourself of something u have to type the stuff in the organiser and set the alarm clock. There are no features like the dictionary or the thesaurus. The display gets jammed on occasions. For the price we customers pay for the phone, we expect a lot better features from LG GD 900..

  • Nice phone, very elegant but i have many troubles. Display freezes so i have to close it and open it again. Sometimes closes on its own.

  • Nice shape and new style , has all good popular specifications ,however ; U have to slide it open when U want to use the camera .. poor battery , some applications lag big time when the memory is used in full capacity (ext. or int.) . WiFi - weak .

  • I loved my phone for its beauty and appeal that it catches when other ppl inquires about it. It lovely design captures anyone eyes whom are not aware of it. For three weeks my battery kept going dead by the end of the day. And after 2 weeks the battery began swelling a little and i began to digust the phone. I was anxious in getting a new phone. I ordered a new battery and it came in Friday 03/18/11 and since then i have not charged it and its still at 2 bars now. The love i have for my phone has return and i dont want to separate from it. With the battery if the output power is not constant it will cause the phone to malfunction. Get your batteries tested or do your own test by pressing and feeling the size of the battery body. IF it feels funny with inconsistencies change the battery. You will see the results. Nuff luv from Belize. Thanks for an amazing phone still. 1 year now and still jamming like new

  • Hi I am using the GD900 from last 6months. Want to tell about my experience. More than advantages, I face many issues with this. Advantages: Ofcourse, crystal keypad, looks. Issues: Sometimes, you cant able to see who is calling. in such cases you need to press the volume or lock buttons to wake up the screen display :( And recently, found a fault in Music Player. The music player is not showing the Album names, instead it is showing the artist names when I select show Albums. where the user looses his interest to listen songs as per albums. lack of newly available features (like SyncML) is also a negative aspect. And lastly, we need to talk about the Bluetooth function. When I tries to connect the LG mobile suite via Bluetooth it is not allowing to open the internal applications (like message, backup...). LG PC suite is the worst Software I see. (in terms of connecting with mobile) And the funny thing is, mobile require a NAP once in a day. If we didn't restart the mobile for 2/3 days, mobile will hang at some screen and doesn't respond. So make sure to prepare for above features before buying this First ever crystal mobile........   • my LG GD900 have a defect. when i opened it. its just LG thats appearing.. nothing else.. i send it to the shop and the shop send it to the manufacturer. for 9 months its not yet fixed. :'( they are too slow.

  • My phone has recovered from the 'blank-screen-during call' problem. i sent it the shop where i bought the phone. they said they send to the manufacturer, get some software upgrade and maybe some hardware checking..it took more than 2 weeks though but now i can see who's calling and whom i dial. awesome!

  • Hi Had the gd900 for 12 months and still getting same problem even though phone been back to LG! When making a voice call the screen disappears so cannot close the call if not answered!Also cannot tell who is calling, blank screen again! Anyone out there solved this???   • no, u wont lost ur picture, messages, notes everything..i've done it several times before. it will just reset your phone to the original setting like ring tone, theme that's all..no worries..

  • I don't know why people are hating on this phone. Its quite the catch. Ive had it since March & I haven't had any problems. The only thing that has hapened to me is when I go on the internet, sometimes it over loads which causes it to freeze, & I dont relly care. I think this mobile is more of a "for show" type. Its extremely classy to begin with. When people see that it is transparent, they instantly fall in love with it & makes you think, "yeah, that's my phone". I just think that some people are impatient when it comes to lagging & freezing. It's not going to grow legs & run away. The camera is amazing, the style is amazing, the sound is amazing, the quality is amazing, everything about the LG GD900 Crystal, is AMAZING! :)

  • I've been using this phone for a few months now. Overall, I think it's a very good device. The S-Class UI is very user friendly and it looks pretty good (at least IMO, cant discuss taste..). But most of all the UI is intuitive. Despite some of the comments below, I find that texting with this phone is perfect, you can either use the QWERTY touchpad, or the regular keypad, what more can you ask for? The touch screen is really sensitive and respond very well, I rarely find myself pushing twice on a key for it to work. And again unlike some other poster here, the phone isnt "always" freezing. It actually happenned to me like twice in 3-4 months, all I had to do was reset the phone. The phone is perfect as an MP3 player since it support dolby mobile. The 8MP camera, althought not the best around, does very well IMO, I took a lot of pics with it. (+ it's a phone in the 1st place, not a camera..) The web browser has been working properly evrytime and the wi-fi connectivity is up to the task. The phone is also good for watching videos that you upload on the phone ( good thing you can slide a micro SD up to 32gb ), I've watched many episodes of The Office on the train with that phone. I also like the organiser and the phonebook on this S-Class device. They are complete and can be very useful. Now the cons, well 1st of all 1 of the biggest cons IMO is the fact that the touch screen isnt made of tempered glass ("scratchproof") like say the LG BL40. So if you dont take care of it or dont put protection your screen will soon be full of micro-scratch. Secondly you gotta hate the fact that there is no flash support on this device. Another thing is the battery life span is kinda under-average, althought it's not really a problem for me since I always put my phone on the charge at night. And finally, the phone is a little bit overpriced now if you consider that you can have a Samsung Wave for around 450-500USD nowadays... But there again, e-bay is your friend, be patient and you might find one around 150-200USD. I actually got that phone because I pulled 1 out of e-bay for 160USD ^^ So overall, the LG Crystal is a very nice looking and functional multimedia phone. If you're looking for the ultimate smartphone, or tons of apps, go look elsewhere and bring a couple hundred $$$ more. But if you are looking for a one-of-a-kind, nice looking. well built multimedia phone, LG Crystal might be what you looking for! Cheers!

  • battery life of this phone sucks...mine can be on standby mode for 2 days only and if your playing music battery will be drained after 2 1/2 hours...i only bought it 4 months ago.

  • Well I have this phone for a while now and here are a few bad points that i've found so far 1.Batery life is awfull. 1-2 days maximum with limited use but i guees it's because of all the crazy features(transparent keypad light,flashlite that can burn trough wals,wi-fi etc. Batery indicator is a complete liar never trust it. -tip:use power save mode it helps a bit 2.Firmware has lots of bugs that cause the phone to crash(ex:Galery if you work the accelorometer too much,Youtube with Wi-fi)but dont worry a new firmware will be available soon( june 2136). -tip: Handle with care Who needs Youtube anyway on wi-fi 3.Camera is great if it's night or sunny but never in between. So if you want a phone that trully looks awesome take it but if you are a hardcore user go somewhere else. And since the limited sales on this phone i'm waiting for it to breack down so that LG or vodafone will give me a much cheaper phone as compensation

  • Great looking phone with lots of features. Not for those who text a lot though. I had this phone for 6 months and gave it away because it's just too much hassle to type a message or even a phone number to dial. Writing recognition function is not practical at all. Very slow response time. Good camera. Wouldn't recommend this phone.

You can drag the keyboard and see the display.http://www.gsmcellulars.com/lg-crystal-g­d900.html His view is not blocked while dragging one or the other. The phone has a slider interface, which means that you can slide the keyboard out of sight when not needed convinientaly. The touchpad supports gestures, for example, draw a circle launches an application such as contacts. This function is programmable. The touchpad with touchscreen phone makes it very difficult.

  • Yeah, but the camera/image quality is still bad. In other hands, for ex. SE C908 has a greaaaat camera, and almost all SonyEricsson Phones have an amazing camera. But the design on this Crystal phone is just Crystal :D

  • You might want to use iso 200 and/or lower. As soon as you put iso 400 the noise levels jump! It's as good as many 5mp old cameras. I don't see people complaining about those as much as they've complained in this phone :p I guess expectations were just too high.

  • The phone looks good, but lack of applications is pretty evident. Not many games come with the phone, and the fact that you cannot download frustrates us. The LG PC suite is not that great when you compare it to the Nokia's application. Also the battery is not that good. Hardly listened to songs for an hour or so, videos for 15 to 20 minutes, the battery was empty. Also the battery indicator seems to be very unpredictable. It was showing two points, suddenly turned to three and after few minutes went to one -- very frustrating. The wifi is working fine and the sound quality is decent. But they should have concentrated on better quality camera with lesser 4 or 5 megapixels. the image quality is terrible, cant tell anyone this is a 8 MP camera. The S-class interface looks good, touch is sensitive, but phone freezes suddenly.

  • yes it does have a continues reminder, go to menu then profiles click what profile u want for example normall, scroll down to message volume and underneath that it should say remind message alert and u can change it to every 1 minute, every 2, every 5 or every 10. :)

  • I have no clue how someone could dislike such an amazing phone. Been using this phone for 8 month now and i think that it has brought to us a new dimension. That transparent keyboard is just SO amazing. Everyone will just be amazed by it. And so will you. I am amazed by it! Truly, despite all the comments, it is a great phone. Audio Quality is superior and HIGH, camera is AMAZING for Outside pics, Close ups, Night pics, and Video. Screen colors are superior, 16M colors in action, colors are so alive. Simply, I love this phone, and i think it is quite reliable and any body who just thinks that his phone has problems, should get a firmware upgrade or check with service center. In 8 month i did not have a single freeze or message mistyping or whatever other problems you are talking about.

  • Been having this phone for 6 months now. so i guess i can comment more about it. i have 2 friends using this too. Just sent it to service centre yesterday. For people who are interested in buying this phone, i would like to highlight that this isn't a phone for heavy users. Simply because: 1) It lags 2) It freeze/hang. (mine hangs daily that's y it's in service centre now. My alarm don't work too. CRAP.) 3) sms can store up to 500 only. Can't save to memory card 4) the Accelerometer sensor is over sensitive. when typing my sms the screen rotates quite often and when u try to type something after it rotates back, all the text u typed got deleted. (i hope service centre fix this. also pls dun comment me that i accidentally shifted this phone while typing sms that's y it rotates bcoz i don't see my sonyericsson does that) 5) Battery indicator inaccurate since day 1. (when making calls for more than 15mins, the battery meter will jump from 3 bar to 1 bar. after you hang up the phone it'll jump back to 3 bar) 6) Phone auto cut off my phone calls but it shows there's still reception. (Rarely) ALL MY FRIENDS AND ME EXPERIENCE ALL THESE FAULTS except for the alarm clock which is me only. In case u wanna comment of defend about it. Well apart from all this, if u can live with all these faults, i would say this is a not a bad phone. The + factors for this phone will be: 1) It's really a beautiful phone 2) The speaker is loud and clear when u listen to music from the phone 3)Radio reception is great 4) camera quality is clear and sharp 5) it's pretty durable too despite it looks fragile. (my friend's phone has been abused but it's still alive) Overall i would say if you like the looks, buy it. If you're looking for a reliable phone, look elsewhere. My 2 cents. Andrew Singapore

  • Only on faulty phones, just got to get lucky and not buy a faulty one, if u get one on contract u have 13 days to return the phone if there is any problems with it and they will give u a straight exchange, if u get it on pay as you go then u normally have a 28 day policy to return the phone for a refund or an exchange aslong as you keep the reciept, so either one you get, contract or Pay as u go, u have time to actually use to phone and spot any problems with it.

  • When you have downloaded it, it should be on your desktop called LG or something, u need to go into that and syncronise all your contacts and your music before u can actually update it. Not sure about the comera tone, you prob have to turn the volume down or put the phone on silent or something....

  • I had my LG Crystal 2 weeks ago and it's doing great. The camera might not be a big hit but the other features rocked my world. I didn't have any problems with incoming calls, 'cause the screen usually turns black so you won't be able to accidentally click anything there. And i remembered that my phone hanged twice for no reason at all but...its not a big deal. I restarted my phone and it was doing great!

  • Itz a very very good ph.. didnt expect LG can make phones like this also..LG phones are extremely poor in battery life but this is probably the only lG ph i must say which give ur a fairly good batry life. The ph looks awesoomeee..and the keypad simply rocks..worth every penny u spent on it..call quality is too good and the screen is extremely responsive. the only downside is the camera..compared to a 8mp camera, itz not upto the mark but is definately good. OVERALL. this is the best ph from lg so far, and u wont get unnoticed wid this ph in ur hand..trust me, it rocks..

  • Dont go under bridges lol, qhwn u go under a bridge there aint any reception and when u come out from under a bridge its normally because the signal is scrambled and cant pick any signal up this happens for most phones, u just have to live with resetting your phone every time you go under a bridge, i get the same problem but not everytome i go under a bridge!

  • Hi there, I got the GD900 as a christmas present and it started to do this problem again. Ii couldn't see who was calling even if i pressed the side buttons or anything. Sent it back to the retailer who upgraded the software and it worked ok for a day and went again so it sent it back again but unfortunalty when i went to collect it the repair ppl scrapped the front and back of it so i didn't accept it back and have filed a complaint. When it was back the first time i called LG service desk and quiried it as i though there was a setting i missed in it but they where baffeled by this aswell. I would suggest you send it back to your retailer and demand it to be repaired.Other than this problem i love this phone. Cheers.

  • Hi, I got this LG GD900 3 weeks ago. It was working fine. Then one day, the screen went blank during an incoming call. I switched off and on the phone, and it seemed to be working normally again. After a few days, the symptoms happened more regularly. Turning the phone off and on now does not resolve this problem. I plan to send it back to the service centre.

  • I have this phone for a little over a week, and it has been great! But there was a couple of issues with the Reception. I lose reception when I enter tunnels and even when I am out, it doesn't come back. I end up having to restart my LG crystal again. I have two friends, one has the LG Crystal too and another has the LG viewty 2 and they both have the same reception problems. Does anyone else experience this too? Is there a solution?

  • I think you just got unlucky pal. my phone is fine u probably had a dodgy one, the phone is great, when some one phones me their name shows up fine i dont understand how u mean u are getting the black screen when some one is calling you, the only time i have a black screen is when i am am phoning some one and it goes black when i put the phone to my ear because it has a sensor on it so i cant touch the screen with my face or ear, i think u need to send yours back and get a new one i think u got got unlucky and bought a broken one.!

  • thank you for replying but the problem is i saw in the you tube that it doesn't get black during the normal condition, only when some body calling you or you calling some body the screen goes dark and you can't answer even if the phone is not next to your ears. i want to know is this problem soled or not, also waht about the problem of calling another body is it solved or not yet. i think the problem of freezing is due to filling the 1.5GB memmory by too much data which slow the phone down and may cause freezing.

  • hey tiff, i think the reason y the envelope has an exclamation mark next to it is bc it failed to send and now its in ur outbox. that used to happen on my nokia when msgs hasnt fully sent so the phone leaves it in ur outbox. u can either go into outbox and resend it or simply delete it to get rid of that little icon on ur home screen. hope that helps

  • Thanks guys for ur reply in regards to the contacts search. my contacts are actually not saved with all capital letters so i dont think being case sensitive is a problem. i dont know how no body else is having this problem, my phone is virtually brand new and its faulty already?? im also finding another problem which started to occur recently. ive got my msg tone to 'DING DONG' and volume 7. most of the time the sound is right, nice and loud but every so often the ding dong volume seems to be at 1!! i cant even hear it. i know i havent played around with the functions for it to change accidentally and all the other sounds seems to be fine??? so far i dont find this problem with my ring tone yet.. oh god im starting to really hate this phone. im gonna take it back to the dealer on sunday.

  • I think I know why it's like that and I tried it on my phone to test. If ur searching for a contact with H it's will show all contacts with H. I believe the search button is case sensitive. In your case, your contact has all capital letters therefore searching for H will show all contacts that have a capital H to show. Try fixing your contacts lettering and see if that helps at all.

  • When I look for a name in my contacts in putting a letter, I only receive the contacts with the name or the first name beginning by this letter. Unlike you if I look for H I don't find ANNAH

  • hi guys i just got this phone yesterday and im finding that the search in contacts is really annoying. when ur in the search function, if i was looking for the contact 'HARRY' and i typed 'H', on most phones they will show me all the contacts beginning with H. But what i find is it would show up ANY name with the letter H in it. for example ALANNAH would show up before any names beginning with H shows up. simply for the fact that it filters alphabetically and A is before H. do i make sense? i find this sooooooo annoying does anyone know if there is a function to change this? please help!

  • The black out issue which alot of people are experiencing is not a fault, when u put your ear to the phone to make a call, it has a sensor there to stop u touching the touch screen pad whilst in the middle of the call, this is a great idea, if u phone for e.g your answer phone, and u need to click numbers to take you where u need to get, u just simply put your phone down flat and the black screen dissapeers, this will then alow u to click numbers, ect.

  • I am using LG crystal for a week now, and I find this phone a good one. The user interface is not that sluggish as other claim, i like the overall experience with LG crystal considering the price as of now is very affordable. I have iphone 3GS, HTC HD2 and palm pre. All of these are having very responsive screen, and LG Crystal with a price too low in comparison is not bad at all. Actually, I tried having a Samsung OMNIA II, but very dissapointed. despite the high price it exhibits sluggishness and hanging so I decided to sell after a 3 days of use. For those considering LG Crystal, this is a good smartphone, not same level as iphone 3Gs but it is still a very good one.

  • Written in the manual. Press the cube key (between the pick-up and hang-up buttons) until the shortcut screen appears. BUT you cannot use any dreamable shortcut gesture and not even for all the applications (you cannot do it for the camera for example) but only the ones already defined in the phone. That's the big lack of this phone according to me.

  • it is part of the phones function not an error. the screen is black during calls only if ur head is against the phone. there is a sensor next to the video talk. if you want to see whos calling just look at your phone, its not like you can see whos calling when it is up against your ear

  • for the blank screen, you can try to update the firmware with the cd from the box (I can't explain how to do, i don"t speak english well ^^). But before, you have to save your files (memo, contact, . . . with pcsuite or anyway) And finally, you do a factory reset (1809#*900#). the factory reset reset your phone XD (it will be like new). If the soft said, you don't need to update, try the factoy reset anyway (but don"t forget to save your files). Or you can go to SAV (return your phone) cause i never had this problem with mine. (if you understand french, you can go to www.forummobiles.com, they made tutos for how to update km900/gc900/gd900) @anonymous : the camera is just ok, no as great as the gc900 or innov8 or se c905, but it's ok (read the review, it's the same ^^) and it seems that some of them have construction default (blank screen when calls).

  • warning - this cell phone has a design flaw. the profiles will become mixed up (they will not corrospond to the one you set them to and the profile names will be mixed up). i'm on my second lg gd900 with the same problems and i have heard the same from results on google. really disappointed seeing as how i love this cell phone minus this fundamental flaw. do not get this cell phone!!

  • I faced this problem in the begining, but the LG service told me to check the call divert and swith it off, i did but still i had the problem, they told me to swith the light sensor off and then it worked without a problem. I discovered that this was something good for the phone as it saves your battery, when you put the mobile close to your ear the light switch off automaticly and far from your ear the lights returns, try it your self, its actually something good not bad, i felt stupid when i discovered that:)

  • i chose crystal over the ultra touch as it does do everything better than the ultra, as i had the ultra for ages and i'm pretty good with technology. i've flashed my ultra with the latest firmware but it was still to laggy. Why Crystal is better: - crystal is at least 3 or 4 times more sensitive (touch). - crystal looks better. - full querty keyboard (the way it should be, on a touch phone) i can almost type as fast on my phone as my keyboard. - crystal has wifi, which i use alot. but really only depends on if you use it or not. - you can customise everything, Ultra u can't change the 'hold' wallpaper. Why Ultra Touch is better. - camera (really good compared to the crystal) - price But in the end i only paid a extra $50 which to me is more than worth it. you can really see how much better the crystal is when you have both phones in your hand, as i did. i've said this before and i say it again, the Camera on the crystal is very dissapointing. Innov8 vs Crystal, i'll say keep the Innov8 (lil sis has one)unless you really must have the design and looks.

  • i hv solve the problem of the blank screen during incoming n outgoing calls.. there is a small round opening between the camera and the ear piece on the top right hand corner. the opening is not to be block.. juz remove the screen protected on the screen to in order not to block the opening.

I does everything the Ultra Touch does but better (besides it's camera). i haven't had any problems what so ever with this phone (touch wood). Phone is made of very soft plastic and scratches very easily. i've got a screen protector made for this phone on the front and have one on the back (no one makes a cover for the back, so i bought a iphone cover and cut it to make it fit).

  • Thanx for your answers! The 2P/5P indication shows that you have started on the seccond sms. Maybe 5P indicates that 5 sms is the maximum to send at the same time? I also noticed now that you get the number of letters, when you are getting close to the limit, BOTH when you use the querty keyboard and when you slide the phone open and use the muosepad. But you DON�T get tha counter when you type directli on the phone vertically, wich is whar I have been doing all the time.

  • Turn off 3G to improve battery life. And stop hammering your phone every 5 mins thats probably why your battery dies fast.

  • hi i've just spent about 8min reading the user manual and playing with the phone. there isn't any word count but ive noticed that while your typing in qwerty a pop up up the right hand side with 2P/5P and a number underneath if anyone knows what this is let us all know. i just have my msg setting to use MMS instead of multiple msgs. Plus i know battery life for this phone is back, but the Samsung S8300 is even worst. i think LG knows this that's why you get a spare battery in the box.

  • I think the battery is really poor. I have to charge it almost every day if I use the phone a lot. Anyone know how to see how many letters one uses in the sms? Otherwise you never know when you send 2 sms, untill right before u send it, and then you don�t want to go back and delete stuff. In my old Sony Ericsson, there was a counter over the sms - very practical and something I thought was a standard phone feature. Can I make my LG do the same trick?

  • SMS Yes you can save a draft of sms, on this phone sms works the same way as emails you can reply/forward/attach stuff. Construction This phone is delicate made mostly of soft plastic easily scratched. That's why i have a screen protector on mine (doesn't take the touch sensitivity away). Battery Life Is actually pretty good last 2 or 3 days for me with heavy usage.

  • Come on! You can change the volume of each tone. It is amazing the number of people who complain about what they cannot do without reading the manual. Go to the phone settings menu and click on the profile. Here you can modify the ringtones and their respective volumes...

  • Go to the contact menu and choose the contact you want to edit. There is a bar at the bottom of the contact with three buttons (call, message and visio call). A part of this bar is hidden on the right so go more on the right and you will find a button called modify

  • - I believe your phone has a problem - the phone is low to switch on and fast to switch off. You cannot optimize both (see the OSes for computers). - to do the update, you need to update also your computer in order it recognizes your USB cable. I received a message in my Windows Vista when I plugged the phone asking me for updating the drivers of the USB - "oh also has anyone else noticed how bad the t9 on it is? when i type in a new word into the dictionary instead of putting it where i was typing it replaces the first word with it :S ?" If you began to type a word that is not in the dictionnary and so you launched the dictionnary, yes the word you began to type is replaced. If you call for the dictionary in a blank space, the word is not replaced. - "also when using the onscreen keyboard there is no * button to get the next wordd??". Completely right and it is normal. If you read the manual, it is written that you have to press on the triangle near the word in the box to choose in a list of words...

  • Maybe before complaining you should read the manual... 1- after pressing the "send" button, you can see at the top of the screen a big button. Press it and you can see only the calls if it what you wish. 2 - in the phone book you can search somebody by the first letters so why do you talk about a core? You can also dial some numbers of a phone number and you see all the people who have a phone number with these numbers.... I saw more complicated in my life. 3 - I have this phone for one month and it didn't switch off alone but if the battery is ending. Be careful that if you have two bars and you are calling, the battery can finish in few minutes. Actually it is a reccurent matter in the LG phones I have had 4 - Only one freezing in a month and it happened when I pressed many things in the very short time and before the update. I believe it also is your problem.

  • As someone mentioned already, the front keypad is the ONLY thing that is made of glass. Rest of the phone is made of plastic. This is the ONLY complain i have because I take care of the phone and I have already noticed a small scuff on the top of the phone due to regular usage.

  • You CAN turn on delivery reports to ensure your msg has been sent. - Go to the main menu (water drop menu) - Under settings scroll to the right to get to the "message settings" - click on text messages (or MMS) - enable "delivery reports" Now each time your message is sent you will get a beeping sound and a pop-up saying your message has been sent.

  • Help! I have been trying to import all the numbers from my handset to my sim, however it only sends over the "primary" number for each contact and leaves out all the other ones.   • Great cell phone - the keypad is soooo responsive that I sometimes find it too responsive. A light touch and I end up typing a number! When texting, the keypad sometimes goes through the numbers because the it's too responsive but this is easily corrected by texting faster. My only problem is that you don't get a confirmation of when a message is sent so that I have to continually check my sent box. This is somewhat of an annoyance.

  • I have this phone, still love it, but my advice always keep it in some sort of strong cover, i just put on the invisible shield (which I recommend). Before that my phone slipped out of my pocket and it chipped and the outer shell is not as hard as it looks. It is really minor chips but still.

  • hello every, i currently own a S8300 (5 months now) and just got this phone. will test for a week and then dicide which phone to keep. with all phones if you drop it hard enough things will break, gd900 has glass keypad. which isn't just normal glass its tempered glass (extra strong)lg would of tested this and dropped/hit/scratch it as much as they can before coming to a conclusion in what material to use (glass is better than plastic) and i'm pretty sure they would of spent a lot of money testing the keypad.

However, saying that you need to stay away from these vacume cleaners called Nilfsik. The design is so inegoromical, i mean if the cops came and i had to vacume up all the drugs lying on the ground it would be so difficult to pick up the vacume and clean up the evidence. Bye Bye!

  • Hmmmm where to begin.. I've just purchased this phone this morning and now beginning to play around with it. As people have indicated above and below, the camera quality isnt as I've expected it to be. I've previously owned the omnia HD and Viewty, I dont think it stand anywhere near it. AND THEY SAY IT's 8MP!!! anyways. other then that, the interface of the phone is quite complicated and easy to use. Everything at the touch of a button!! or a slide. xp. The wallpaper quality on this phone is actually really nice though, I had to upload it from the computer but it looks clean. sound is quite clear and at this point, I think im going to enjoy this phone. I recommend people to buy it.

  • - the SAR level doesn't really matter as you can (should) always call with headphones - the phone is faster than my former 2-years-old-LG Viewty - the screen is very reactive and the keypad even more - the camera is not as good as the one of my LG Viewty - the video is good - the internet is in the average and you can use it via the wifi - there is no gps but there is google map (of course it is as precise as a gps) - the S class interface is amazing and very convenient - gestual shortcuts is a great invention even though I would have liked to do some for all the applications and not only for the nine applications LG chose - the sound is perfect - bad point for the movies you need to encode via the LG application (why? my Viewty has worked with all divx movies )

  • the problem with the SAR is not when we use wi-fi. the problem is when we use it to make a call. when smoking became usual, every company told it wasn�t dangerous. i don�t need to read anything from any authority or commission.they can say what they want to keep us living a lie, just to sell a lot of phones. of course we live surrounded by radiation, but when it is so near to our heads and so intense....why not to be careful and buy a phone with the lowest SAR possible?? OF COURSE PHONES WITH HIGH SAR MAKE HEADACHES to some people, and there is a real danger of cancer and other problems. we just have to think we our heads, and not believe in some "authorities" or "commissions"! OF COURSE WE CAN�T PROVE IN A LIVING HUMAN BEING, but...everybody knows that this kind of radiation is dangerous, but we love "toys", isn�t it? i love this toys too, but mine don�t have more than 0.5 of SAR. i�m a doctor, and i know what i�m saying! and i don�t need any commission to make me believe what they want to be believed! one thing is true....the lowest SAR, the better to our health! until today nobody proved in alive humans that smoking leads to cancer, but...now everybody agree that there no doubt about this, isn�t it?? best regards to all! (and is a stupid thing to throw people with reports from commissions and authorities that are "supposed" to be true!if we read their statements, they are careful. they don�t say that radiation isn�t dangerous, and they don�t state it is safe too!!right??)

  • For all people who complain about the high SAR level. Have you ever thought of the wifi in your homes or in the streets? You would be surprised to know it. And now if you think that where you live or work , even with a wifi SAR lower than 1.6, you are exposed the whole day to radiation, you can stop thinking that this phone will kill you and you'd better switch all the wifi around you off!

  • For all the people who are asking about the camera quality, I will be honest it is not that great (unless you take pictures in the sun during the day). I also have a n97 at the moment and that takes better pictures with a 5mp camera than crystal's 8mp cam. So far the best camera phone I have used is the C905 but that phone has too many other problems (i.e. broken keys and faulty ear piece). However, this is my first LG phone and I am really impressed with the touch screen/keypad capabilities. S-class is also top notch but it will take sometime for me to get adjusted to this change.

  • to know about the SAR level of a phone, you have to read the proper info in the last pages of the user manual which comes within the phone box. sometimes we can check it searching in the google. but this model has been dificult. in my country it is on sale now, and i went to a PHONEHOUSE store, and asked them to show me the phone to test it, and also the user manual. i couldn�t believe when i saw the SAR level. i have had a few LGs, and they usually have a low SAR level. and that�s good. but this GD900 is a stupid exception. I�m sad because i really wanted to buy one, but....after this, NO WAY! I love my health! i don�t care if this phone is one of the best ever, and almost perfect in features. good luck for those who will buy it. i�ll wait for some next beauty from LG, similar to this model. i believe LG will have a great success with this GD900, and in a nearly future they will do something similar to the CRYSTAL, and better! by the way....you can find tech info about SAR, in the FCC website. they are responsable for all the SAR tests of all the phones, before they can be allowed to go to the sales market. SAR info is ALWAYS in the last pages (or first pages, depending the companies) of the major phones�s user manual.

  • I bought the phone and it is really great after my LG Viewty. The screen is really sensitive and the touchpad even more. The camera is good enough for my use and I don't believe it is bad if you don't do 8 Mpixels-photos. Unlike what I read here, there is a radio transmitter.

  • So now finally tried and tested. The functionality is good, Great graphics, Texting is really easy, I like the way you can browse the net with it, loads fast and "the mouse pad" (key pad) is really nifty no more pulling your fingers all over the screen and try to see where your fingers are heading, lol. There is so much settings to everything to really personalize it to your own taste. I am glad I bought it, no regrets, the only downer is the battery does not last very long got it on wednesday and now (Friday eve) recharging so would say three days lasted. Carphonewarehouse will apparently sell it for �399. I got a package from mobiles.co.uk and end paying �29.99 for phone �20. contract x24 months, mmm long but ok!

  • Replying to the previous post. 1.5 GB of storage capacity is kind, but in no measure generous. 1.5 is what you expect from a 20� mp3 player. Regarding the external memory, it is hardly a comparison point between phones. At this point all support 16GB and even 32GB (which is not the case of the Crystal, according to its specification page). Also the larger the memory card the longer the access time will be. As for the 3rd party apps, you are right, there are the java executables. I did not mention them in my last post because I do not believe there are any gps navigators available in java (maybe one that gives you your coordinate...) Also, allow me to clarify that I am in no way against the Crystal or LG, I am simply sharing my opinion. Cheers, Endo.

No gps, only 1,5GB of internal memory, and excluding the 8Mpx shooter all of the features it has are really the basics one would expect on such a 'hi-end' phone.   • Sure, Idou won't have the 3.5 mm jack, but Sony are better known for the music quality, so I'm not too worried about that. I just think the Idou will end up being a more powerful phone than this, though the design of this phone kills the Idou by a long shot.

  • Another good thing about LG is that there really cheap. here in Britain, the N95, N96, etdc and all still much more expensive than any of the LG phones (Arena, etc). You can them off ebay really cheap second hand

  • @Nixx: I gave a Samsung s8300 a week of testing, and the camera is the best of any phone so far - as the just posted GSM Arena review testfies too. And the video is equally awesome too. I have sample photos and video here on my Mac. All said, if the Crystal has a 3.5mm jack, it will be almost perfect. (My view though is that 6 months from now, if it isn't running Android or Symbian, it won't sell. Unless it's an iPhone.) I didn't keep the S8300 as it would not sync with my Mac and I felt it was for the ladies - having that pink keypad! :)

After that is LG Shine series, fashion phone, smart phones, music phones & etc... In last year I bought the KF600 bcoz of it unique dual screen design. The other models catching my eyes is camera alike KC510, the cute KS360, KF510 n the almighty LG KC910 Renoir. But my next target is this gorgeous GD900 Crystal, I love it very much! LG has stealing n catching my heart from my long love Nokia.
