Samsung Galaxy J7 V - User Reviews

  • Can we use internet in j7v using zong or any other network? Anyone help..

  • Thanks!! I ended up buying one as for business I strictly use my smartphone mostly with heavy web browsing usage in mind and when i say heavy im talking anywhere from 5-6 hours SOT with chrome every single day, this Samsung Galaxy J7V (2017) does not disappoint I have never in 10 years of using smartphones had one last 2 days with my usage pattern... this is a first, this devices has insane battery life the best part is that I'm not attached to an outlet or a portable battery 24/7 to get work done I can be out just about anywhere and not even think about plugging in second it has a replaceable battery for when it's battery does eventually decide to give up on me... it's funny because before I always required a removable battery because there wasn't a smartphone (for Verizon) that would get me through a day so I would have the spare batteries just to keep me going... this phone I don't even need to switch batteries it easily gets through the 2nd day even though my SOT usually ends up being around 14 hours over 2 day period before I have to charge again. Another note that should be made is that lion batteries die based on charge cycles, the less frequently you need to charge them the longer their lifespan... this smartphone is the sweet spot of battery longevity... it has insane battery life and a replaceable battery... I imagine if I take good care of this phone it should far outlive any other smartphone I own... and I still have a Droid X that's still kicking. One note is longevity is also factored by how well you care for a device I have never cracked a screen, dropped a device in water or destroyed any smartphone in a 10 year period every phone I have ever owned still functions and is in pristine condition. So for someone who is indifferent to phone's your usage may vary as the Samsung Galaxy J7v from what I have used of it within this period is by no means rugged and I will take social care to keep it in this pristine condition.

  • I have a brother with this phone about 6 months old he gets about 10-12 hours screen on time(he gets his phone to go for 2 days if he keeps his brightness consistently low enough) and he normally keeps it that way. The screen is an okay LCD with low resolution and the glass breaks easily(he dropped onto carpet with a bulky case about 3 feet high and has a huge crack on the top center now.) it doesn't get very bright either but for strict battery life and if you're on verizon this gets quite good battery.

  • How is battery life could anyone do a SOT primarily with heavy web browsing prefferably chrome... id like to know how it compares to say an LG G5 from battery benchmarks ive seen a lot of extremely positive things about its battery matched with the fact that it has a removable battery. Im sort of wondering whether half the people posting in the comments below are using some other version of the J7 as there are atleast 5 others like the (plus, prime, pro, perx) which are completely unrelated to the j727v or Samsung Galaxy J7v 2017 very specifically. Thanks in advance if anybody can help me. I get about 5-6 hours of Chrome SOT with my LG G5 and it really doesn't feel like enough honestly so im hoping the benchmarks are right about this phone although I'm a bit skeptical the benchmarks i believe are using the gsm model with exynos processor so it could be wildly different then this one with the Snapdragon 625.

  • My Android Maxx wouldn't work my automobile apps so I went to Verizon to update. Salesman in Morehead City NC told me "for the money, this is a good phone" Guess he knew he wasn't spending his money....I'm very dissatisfied with the phone...first week out of the box the speaker stopped working. Second phone two weeks old and I wish I would have stuck with my Maxx. Lemons come in all shapes and colors apparently.

  • After updating on Oreo 8.01 my fone got New life all issues have been resolved, no heatup no laging so far good fone in this price range.

  • i have owned this samsung for 1 year now and the the camera is fine and front camera the samsung j7 perx boost mobile it is not the best best it is sure better than iphones big phone and good feel in the phone so yes you should buy samsung phone but never ever buy a iphone

  • The worst camera of any phone I've had in the past decade.....yes, phones 10 years ago seem to have had a better camera. Also, very disappointed the phone often freezes, even when receiving a text; sometimes phone calls hang up before the phone will switch between an app to the incoming call screen to allow me to accept the call. I've owned this phone for 10-months and already planning to buy a replacement before the end of this month.

  • This weekend, I got a 1.27 GB OS update to OREO 8.10 version. Came with new Samsung Experience 9.0 UI.

  • This phone has a weird (poor?) touchscreen you have to press harder than normal for it to register touch. The 8MP rear camera takes worse photos than any 8MP based phone Ive owned in the past (HTC / Huawei / Samsung / Motorola) The camera firmware is way to aggressive with noise reduction and also has to much image sharpening applied (neither of these can be adjusted even through 3rd party camera apps) It also lacks a Notification LED, its my first phone ever to lack this feature so it took some getting used to. Sometimes when clicking a notification on the lockscreen the screen goes halfway dim and wont do anything until you put it in standby / wake up again (kinda annoying) I haven't experienced any actual lockups or overheating . The screen quality is decent with accurate colors and can get very bright, it also has very long battery life. Gaming is decent on it and a little better than previous phones ive owned. Overall a mixed bag, The meh camera quality especially from a 2017 model makes it hard for me to recommend.

  • I got this phone April 13th 2018 (4 1/2 months ago). Worst phone I've ever owned. Processor is terrible. Freezes up constantly. Touchscreen is glitchy and won't answer calls. Screen will sometimes shut off after unlocking. Overheats on a 75°F day. About once a day it takes 5 minutes to open a facebook message to respond. If you're listening to any type of music it will randomly pause it. Don't waste your money, buy something better.

  • I can assure you that I don't watch porn and mine does the same thing. It also overheats and will randomly reset.

  • The Samsung Galaxy J7 V is a nice mid-range phone if you're not primarily focusing on gaming, or some other CPU-hogging application. It offers a Octa-Core 2.2GHz ARM Cortex-AF3 processor, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset, Qualcomm Adreno 506 graphics, and 2GB of RAM. It has 16GB storage, which can be expanded 256GB via microSD. It is a pleasure to hold, and is also visually alluring. There is a nice strip across the camera which gives it a nice touch. It has an 8MP rear and 5MP front camera. Its 5.5 inch screen is a pleasant size. It comes with mediocre performance, but has a nice price for its quality. The Samsung Galaxy J7 V is a great mid-range phone that exceeds other phones in the price range.

  • Big steaming pile. Avoid like the plague

  • that.s your opinion..been wathing to much porn?

  • This phone is terrible. It is agonizingly slow. You can't have more than 3 apps open at a time before it completely freaks out. The camera isn't even worth using because the picture quality is abysmal. I constantly have to remove the battery to restart it when it freezes up on me and it is only a couple of months old.

  • It comes with Nougat, currently now at 7.0.1, security update as of April 1,2018

  • It’s not from Verizon but from BoostMobile - it’s not unlock. I love to use it on other GSM carrier like ATT or T-Mobile.

  • As a previous comment said, Verizon phone is already unlocked. May use on Att or tmo already.

  • I think u press home button and power button at same time. Same as my J3 to take screen shot

  • Does this phone come with android Nougat or do you need to update it?

  • I like the idea behind this phone. It's as if the Galaxy S4 (my point of reference) took a new form, with the specs being at least quite similar in most aspects.

  • How can I snapshat using Samsung Galaxy J7

  • Only one month, I had to wait one month

  • available for suggestions, but i have installed only 9 extra apps,

  • Agreed

  • Get rid of the bloatware or load a custom Rom, that will make it more enjoyable

  • This phone has ONLY 1,7 gb Ram and 1,4 is loaded when phone is idle, what a shame

  • Can someone please help me get this J727P unlock - PLEASE ANYONE.

  • Oh yes they do. Verizon permalocks their bootloaders.

  • it's a good cell phone but the back camera supposed to be 13mp front 8mp

  • Actually - its the J727P, from BoostMobile under Sprint network. Can someone please show me link how to unlink it without cost - pls and thank you.

  • Verizon doesn't lock their phones. Only catch with prepaid phones is if you want to use it for postpaid, the phone has to be on prepaid for 6 months of continuous use.

  • Great price for one of the few pre paid offerings that offers WiFi calling. Thank you Verizon! I love it, so far.

  • Good soc (snapdragon 625) worst memory(ram+rom) and camera come on samsung can you least make a good soc and camera for low price?

  • I don't see what's so bad about this phone. It's never lagged for me and it has a really great processing speed so it's good for games, I never have terrible lag during the camera, and it's great for multitasking between two or three apps You guys just need to learn to optimize your devices correctly.

  • I totally agree! This is my least favorite. of all of the phones I have ever owned. and I have had cell phones for about 30 years, and never had one I disliked so much, except maybe iPhones!

  • Hello - Can someone help me point to the link that will successfully unlock this J7 V 727p, please... Thank you.

  • I got myself the J7-727P model for under $130 in the last 3 weeks. Good enough reason to get it and try out the Nougat 7.0 OS. Compared to my J7 2015 J700T1 (at the time got it for $149 ) running 6.0.1, this J7 V have better CPU + GPU chipset and battery offerings. It does last over 40+ hours from fully charge on normal use, as long as you keep the display to 20-25% of illumination, which for me is visually see-able even in low light. The complaints I do have is the sluggishness in performance and the camera. I think its because of the network locked bloatware that's causing this performance issue. I do plan to unlock it and root and would make it a pocket-rocket. The camera as carried over from the S5 Neo model, a bit outdated, compared to the other J7 models carrying 13M lens. Will let you know more update once I get this unlock and rooted ..... anyone know what the proper to make it happen - appreciate your feedback as I've supplied mine here.

  • Expensive phone with mediocre features. The camera is horrible and the phone freezes alot when using the crappy camera. Battery is good though and it's dual band WiFi is nice. Other than that, this phone should cost half as much for what it has. My last Samsung I will ever own.

  • Gsmarena says talktime is 40 hours nd music play is 156 hours. Is this totally wrong because i use j7 2016 nd it's talktime and music is respectively 24 hours and 96 hours and about battery and display size is same like 3300 mah and 5.5 inch but very ugh different between them. In j7 2016 super amold display and j7 v have ips lcd. So who is wrong, me or gsmarena ??????

  • And do you realize also that any J7 series are classfied as 'Mid-to-Upper' class smartphones. The J3 and J5 will just be low-end to middle class topping to what the early J7 specs were.

  • How many J7s are there??? Don't Samsung have any other name for thier mid-rangers?

  • You do realize that this phone is not a mid range mid phone? It is meant to be low end phone for other consumers/ buyers

  • I'm running the J7 SM-728P model, and I must say its feels sluggish to use - really disappointed when it comes with a faster CPU, supposed to be better than all the other J7 models - Hey Samsung - what gives?!?!?

  • What is the meaning of giving a 8 mp rear camera ?? All J5 & J7 series phone have 13 mp at the back. I really can't understand samsung. Except csmera all other features are nice.

  • Samsung J7 :V

  • this model for India?

  • removable battery and nano sim. samsung introduce change

  • Atleast it has removable battery sp thats a plus.

  • its a battery life j7

  • It's a good phone compared to all of the j7 phones and they should many a j7 v max and a j7 v chrome edition

  • embarassing really embarassing lost the dignity of j7 series

  • Nothing special for 240 its really expensive

  • If Samsung had used the SD625 in J7 (2017) would be a lot better. But no, they had to use their in-house chip from last year. By the way, this look like a J7 (2016) with way better chipset and downgraded camera.

  • J7 has list its dignity, after five pro max 2017 etc introduced, to hookwing customers. Only 16+32+64 internal and Amoled to Lcd screen playing around. We customers should give Sammy a lesson, each set costing 300+ to 450$° it's mockery!

  • OMG! Same shit,difrerent day!

  • j7, j7 2016, j7 2017, j7 prime, j7 max, j7 pro and now j7 v someone stop 'em
