Surely not possible to purchase anywhere but second-hand, but this is absolutely the worst phone I've ever owned. The touchscreen is so horrible I miss at least half my calls because you just can't get the thing to respond. Its speed is glacial. I will never buy another LG phone.

Hi, in order to do a good job i recomend to install the original firmeware, you can download frome here in the .zip are the original firmeware and the kdz software for your phone, when you have downloaded you have to activate usb debuggin in the configurations you search aplications, developer tool and in there check usb debuging, ok, then you have to put the phone on emergency mode by press the vol- power and back buttons, you have a yellow screen, conect your phone to the computer and wait untill the phone will reconize, then open the kdz folder and install the msxml software and then open by doble click on kdz, in this windows appear type and and phone mode, in the type option you like is, in phone mode your select emergency mode, then in the folder icon you search the kdz folder whit the original firmeware, then push launch software update. To change to cyanogenmod you have to be root, for this model you have to visit this site and download unlockroot free, install it, then download the drivers for your phone from here ­ the cyanogenmode can download from here select the ics-mod-optimus after this install the aplications from the market or playstore got root? to know if you have good root access, the the clockworkmod, in this two programs you have to give root access, then in clockworkmod you have to flash the the correct firmeware for your phone choos settings and then flash clockwork mode recovery search your phone model lg optimus pro c660 it doesn't matters if is c660h or c660, then copy the cyanogenmod to your sd card and in the clockwork select the option to install from sd card give root access if the program ask and press restart to install and you already have install your custom rom.

Do a hard reset. make sure the phone is at off mode. press Volume + and hold down the right soft key at once. Them press Power on. All these buttons at once. It will reset.

its a great phone if r looking for a qwerty keyboard but don't expect much concerning gaming and heavy application .. surfing experience is actually frustrating because of the low RAM . i wanted to note also that it doesn't have a proximity sensor as it says here .. rather it has a mechanism that shuts the screen when u make a call even if u r not holding up to ur ear .. which can be also annoying ( but its the cheapest qwerty phone with android that can actually preform okay )

Hi guys the baterry fo rthis phone is poor as you can only use it for one day. also wecaht & whats runs on it no problem in it. the only problem as per my experience is if u r using 4 to 5 application in the phone its start getting freeze & also i tried chngng the OS to ICS from cynogenmod but it gave me lots of prob so just sold this phone i dnt think tht this phone is good enough to handle android apps cuz of low memmry.

frist you have to connect through a wi-fi network and go to you software update menu, which icon is there in your app drawer, and click check updates, a 14MB frimware update will come, and dwnl it and update your phone

I want to share my experience in using this phone. First of all I don't have any problems with it. For a 2.8 inch screen browsing experience is great both for data and wifi. Battery is average, it is just right for normal use. Reception is good, both for voice/sound quality. This is recommended for qwerty users who wants touch functionality and stressed with bbs :)

Verify if "USB debugging" mode is enabled on your phone before connecting it to the PC. Then check if all the drivers have installed correctly after connecting the phone to your PC. If unlockroot still does not detect your phone then... I personally can't help you. :/

Go to unlockroot.com and download unlockroot. It's a one-click rooting software. After that, you just have enable USB debugging mode on your phone (somewhere in "developer options" in the "settings menu"... I forgot where 'cause I don't have this phone anymore), connect your phone to your PC via USB cable, wait for drivers to install, open unlockroot, click "root" then select your phone when you're prompted to do so. By the way, if it appears like the first step in the rooting process is taking too long (longer than 5mins), just disconnect the USB cable manually and reconnect it immediately after (I had to do that, but it may not be necessary for you). You should be able to root your phone using this... I did (though it worked only after several attempts for me... don't know why) :)

@Egyption. "Call Waiting" is a feature that has to be enabled by your friends b4 your phone will tell you the called party is busy. So tell your friends to activate "Call Waiting" on their phones so that when you call it will show you that they are busy.

I have read many of the posts here and i agree with all guys comments that LG says this phone is 256 MB but it is only 188 MB. This is a good but just an entry level smart phone, so if wanting much tasks to be done, then this phone will be a bad dream. So techie guys stay away from this phone.

I've been using this handset for 6 months, so far, my problem with this is it's low RAM memory, so usually it tends to force close some running apps. The quality of the phone speaker was quite poor. The rest was just fine. Good battery life. :)

Download My Phone Explorer, free software to link with a PC via USB or BlueTooth. Do txt messages from the PC keyboard and importantly backup the contacts, calendar etc. THEN back this up to a USB stick. I believe if you synch with a Google account then lose that account you lose the phone contacts too. Is this what happened to you? Cheers!

Yes the 256mb of ram is a lie, you can barely do anything without receiving the low memory warning, and I've read comments about this phone not receiving txt msgs/ sending msgs properly and that's true as well. But it's a decent phone for this cheap price and for people new to smartphones.

I have been using this phone for the last 1 month. IT cannot be compared with a Galaxy S2 or s3, but surely can be called a decent phone in a low range. The touch is good and the battery back up is not bad either. I usually watch 2 movies a day on the phone and I still have a lot of battery left. I have not rooted the phone, but it gives me enough space to download and run 7-8 apps at a time. The looks are not bad either. If you wish to get an android phone with all the basic features, go for it. Then there is always the rule of 'LUCK'. I had a micromax phone before this which was put down by everyone, but it was amazing...it got stolen or else I would have never given that up....Go for it guys!!! Taking opinions is ok...but if it clicks....it clicks

Check your sync with Google because if the Contact list on the google account is clean and you have not reverse synced the phone then you will lose data even more... so i suggest you check these settings first

RAM PROBLEM SOLUTION.. Yes, significant lags are experienced when using this phone, I NEVER had one of those, not until I installed a Launcher.. (Go Launcher).. WIDGETS are very aggresive RAM consumers... dont use Launchers and Widgets...

LG Optimus Pro C660 is really a nice cell phone and I am so excited to use this phone until I found a undesired problem while using this. The only problem I go through is while playing games notification comes "system is running slow, close some application" even though I close all the application which is running in the background. I have this phone and I dont recommend this unit to anyone because my phone now is heating up when operating, doesn't charge it's battery and cannot recieve Signal from my carrier network Globe, even in my dad's Smart sim. If you ever used a featurephone or blackberry before, this is the best phone to use as an entry level smartphone. 1. You can intstall Jbak Taskman from Playstore. Very lite weight and ideal. 2. Install opera mini v.7.0.xxx. You can always continue from where you left off. 3. You can disable account sync and still save more on memory and data plans. 4. Remember, you can run two to four appz based on the available ram after bootup. The battery saving guide will post them later.

As u said u will be using only few app like Whatsapp so let me tell u, I am using Whatsapp and also kept my phone on SYNC mode where i also get my email and message notification, my MSN, Facebook messenger is also on, i have been using this device for more than 3 month now, i never face any issue regards to those lag or low memory. I must say its a messaging phone, trust me its the best android phone i've experience so far. I have seen people giving negative comments on this phone, may be they expect more than what they are getting. It will be great if we use this phone as an SMART phone and for entertainment i will prefer an ANDROID TABLET for play. Hope you are satisfy with my comment. Regrds SAM85

I bought an Lg optimus pro in november... I like this phone but If anyone ask me I won't recommend this phone at all. This phone has many problems. Its memoery only 178mb, its ram is 185mb and not 256mb as evry one says give problem while we install heavy apps... Its camera quality makes me sick as no flash is available. When we start browsing many sites ask flash player>10 and flash player 10 or 11 available in market does not support it... Not only that if u really want a smart phone please avoid this one...

Hey Egyption, Sorry for late reply, Well i was quite busy for a while.Anyway lets get start with. 1. How to set call waiting option. Steps. GO to main Menu > Now click on Settings > Click on Call Settings > now scroll down to the last option in this menu that is Additional settings > after clicking on it you will get option which is Call waiting just click on the given box and its ready to use. 2. How to set Mesg Delivery report. Steps - Open your message inbox > now click the first button on your phone which is next to home button.> now you will get various option > click on setting option from that > you will see Delivery reports option there just tick on the box and its done. Totally man... If u want to play any games then forget it otherwise this phone is quite good... Because of the low memory u can't install more than around 10 apps at the same time and other than that everythings good... Along with a good equaliser software and a good pair of headphones the phone has a good performance in music too. What else..? The keypad is supercool if u don't have fingers like hulk or anything.. And the battery is good too

Hello MSR, Well as i mentioned early in my post APP2SD will only move apps which are moveable from phone internal memory to SD card. But if you have apps which are taking your phone memory instead SD then it is but obvious that it will lag due to less storage, But if you install only those apps which you use in your day to day life then it wont lag. try avoiding Games and Fancy apps such as live wallpaper or any apps which are Ads support as most of the Apps which are free or demo are Ad support which consume max battery life of your cell phone. I also mentioned earlier in my post that this is just an entry level phone from LG at such cheap price, so we cant expect more than this. If you expect this phone should work like hardcore then root the phone which can be done, but i wont suggest that coz with that you will loose your phone warranty. I bought my LG Optimus Pro C660 in Nigeria. The LG Optimus Pro is the Perfect phone for my messaging, internet and email. Smooth, ultra fast and a reliable battery life. With the 2.8 inch capacitive touchscreen l can Zoom websites, unlike the small screens on my Old phones. I get to read my messages with clarity and am satisfied with the preinstalled Google Apps. Multitasking on the Optimus Pro is smooth for me becos l use the inbuilt browser to surf, read news, gain fast access to information and carry out two or more downloads silmultaneous. All these while reading my mail from the gmail app. Solution to Low Memory, don't run more than 3 or 4 apps because of the background services running. Keypad is ok as l became use to it since l have another LG Qwerty phone - X330T . I rooted my phone and install apps free from Play Store (thanks Google). I can overclock and underclock it. Speed currently is 600 MHz. Am ok with that. Price wise, for a $160 fone am ok with it and it performs well based on my needs.

U hardly have 60 MB free RAM without a single app installed and still if u open a SMS(messaging) it takes 3 seconds to open and with APPS installed u hardly have 30 MB free. Very recently my phone got hanged and was showing just black screen. When incoming call comes it shows the call and after the call ends again black screen was shown. Advantages: Good Key Pad and reasonable Battery Backup Disadvantages: - Low Memory. U hardly get 60MB of free RAM - Performance is slow. Without a single app installed also it takes 4-5 seconds to open a Messager(SMS). My good with Apps installed it always prompts System is running Low. and Performance deteriorates drastically and its bad. - Speaker volume isn't loid - Camera is Average - Screen resolution is average and not visible in sunlight I say its not worth a phone Instead go for HTC Explorer. Please note that this app will only move the app which are moveable from ur phone internal memory to SD so every time you download an APP from Android market, download app which are moveable and try download those apps which are actually important and if those apps which you hardly use try to d install them. People who are blaming with Poor performance, Low battery, Internal memory issue should first get to know how to use android phone before they post negative feedback about the product. I bought it about week ago for 5,099. I updated it with latest software v10g (feb09 2012). Its nice smartphone for given price. Low memory is issue when installing applications but can be easily fixed by transferring to memory card. GPU is really bad but still we can run officesutie6, opera, norton security, skype, drawing pad, dictionary etc and games like angry bird and talking tom etc.

Well its about to be 1 month now, till now i didnt face problem while texting, i must say touch screen is also big compare to any other device, LG have concentrated more on screen than keypad. sometimes i do face issue pressing # 7 or Z but again thats not a big challenge. To tell u about lag, untill and unless u keep ur phone memory free it will never lag, but as it has 800 proc. i never notice phone is lagging. it work like charm there are various apps which u can download from Market which clears ur phone memory, i've got one call App cache cleaner. The best thing i like about the phone is the battery which last more than 2 day as per my exprnc on this phone. I do lot of chat and sms. Hope i've clear your doubt. Do let me know if u have anymore questions.

Ok...maybe I was a bit harsh there...in all fairness to LG, the keyboard is excellent and the touchscreen us superresponsive...the battery could be better but maybe it's because I'm a power user, call quality is excellent and messaging comes close to the blackberry holy grail...so overall not a bad phone...gave it to my girlfriend though...couldn't stand the screen after my xperia x10

I've been using this phone for almost 3months. I've never experience any problems. It's awesome! The battery life is good. A day or 2 is good enough. The touch is very responsive. For those who are encountering the "memory low" or the phone is being too slow or something. I suggest you download the application called "apps 2 sd free". So that all the application you want to install it will directly install to microSD. Or you can transfer manually. It's on the Android Market. I hope this helps you guys! :)

i bought lg optimus pro and its a nice phone, qwerty is realy good. I talk to my cousins and friends on gtalk a lot, typing is realy fast . Moto fire , a similar phone may look good but its qwerty is not good. As for as low memory, i just cancel when the message comes and go on, nuthing happens.All those who like to chat and need to write down lot of things on ntoepad during the day its a excellent phone

well I waited for this mobile phone for almost two months, because of android nad qwerty... the only one positive thing on it is qwery... terrible display, cheap materials, shit camera, low RAM, no sensor to turn on/off keyboard light... actually? the RAM is too low..everytime it keeps on asking to close some of the softaware..very slow despite having 800MHZ processor..keypad is also not great difficult to see in dark..overall not a comparable phone to nokia e71/72 phones as they r are far better in speed/quality of material used.

I purchased a new LG Optumus Pro C6600 one week before. LG Optumus Pro is having a good touch and design. but LG Optumus Pro's software is showing a lot of complaints. LG Optumus Pro's internal memory is very less for the phone. I couldn't be able to run my game properly.When I play some games (also not so high graphics games) in my LG Optumus Pro I am getting the messages like "running low on memory". These devices which we meant to purchase are not only for call/SMS activities, definitely it is mainly used for applications and internet SO please provide a good memory form the next models onwards. and for calling and sms it is providing less features compared to normal mobile phones. I havnt found any security pass option for my sms inbox and call logs. attending and rejecting call is difficult, taking some contact info in between the call is also very difficult in LG Optumus Pro Thank you.

This mobile is a joke. Always low on memory. Its made of cheapy Chinese plastic and while punching keys back cover shakes annoyingly. Mine comes preinstalled with GB 2.3.4. The good news ends just here and rest all is bad news. Its a slow, sad, cheapy LG phone made in China. I was so happy with LG Optimus One which was made in Korea. My mistake to trust LG with Chinese made plastic toy. I paid USD 195 for this and my feeling is its price should not be more than USD 100.

optimus pro is better than xt311. why..... you cant install apps on the sd card so you have to rely on the limited phone memory. and the xt311 lags (annoyingly a lot) wen you run more than one app in the back ground. yeah... even if its menu and browser.

I bought this phone from alfa for rs. 8800 and its the best phone for this price if you are looking for qwerty phone. It will blow away all the other qwerty phones at this price range including the Blackberry curve 3g. Its been 5 days since i am using the phone and there are hardly any probs that i've faced. Also, I am expecting the price to fall further. If you don't need a qwerty phone then, I'd recommend lg optimus one or x10 mini but both of them have 600 mhz processor. This one has 800mhz and is faster than the other two. But, it has a QVGA screen but it will hardly make a difference to the first time android users. If u have used a high end android phone before then, I wont suggest you to buy this phone. Its a business phone cum multimedia phone. The call quality is great specially the loudspeaker. The imcoming call is absolutelly clear and loud but the person on the other end said that it was normal. Don't know whether it was my phone or his phone or network. But, he found the call quality good. I found few ppl complaining about battery. I found it strange. It seems that u ppl were using feature phones earlier which used to last 3 - 4 days. U wont find any smartphone with touchscreen lasting more than 2 days of heavy usage. This phone lasted for more than 1 day after a heavy usage. ( 1500mhz). Its the biggest battery in this price range along with optimus one.

For last couple of weeks I have been using this phone. Best one at it's price range, offers good value for money as it comes with touch n type facility. It's low on RAM no doubt and the battery back up is really bad. But the user has to download Juice Defender from Android Market to face the problem, and downloading Task Manager is a must do for all as well. For the best kind of sound experience one can go for Equaliser at Android Market and using a good 3.5 headphone will enhance the pleasure too. Otherwise good value for your money, nd the Gingerbread experience is added with it.... No hanging problem... Go for it...

hi all, i have being using this phone for the past 10 days. As far as software side is concerned its great, i have used nokia s60 based phones, Black Berry and Iphone 4, but for Android, a class in creation is really visible. NOw for those how are planing to buy this phone, the only only problem i face is, battery backup. I tried using this phone in basic phone mode and tried with using wifi & data transfer on. In basic phone mode after almost 20 to 30 calls, by evening 5 or 7 o clock the battery is full out, with the second mode, even before 1 or 2 oclock i have to find a charging port. when asked about this backup problem to the service center, they where helpless & tried their very best to sent me back without registering the complaint. now about camera, its a normal 3mp camera. build quality of this phone is good (6+ out of 10).

Both the phones have a 1500mAh battery and an 800 MHz CPU. Last we checked, there are only a couple of weak dual SIM Android options in India at the opposite ends of the price spectrum, so the Optimus Net should find lot of takers.
