The specs are awesome even it's many years later. Actually the specs of this phone are better than my phone. I had this phone once but I stop using it because of it's battery... THE BATTERY IS BROKEN! The camera is awesome! This phone has advance features from that year. It's like a modern phone. BTW I'm looking for a battery for this phone.

Great phone..all is well But..I am a game lover..i played games in atrix..but one day the screen went black and phone switched off...I tried to power on it but the Motorola logo is coming and again everything wents black..again the same thing repeats itself until I take out the battery..i want to repair it but the place were I stay no servicing centre are there for my atrix..I also gave my phone to a local servicing centre but they also can't. Nowadays my phone shows nothing..not a single bit of light.. Please help me..or give any suggestions..

atrix was a gift...bought the lapdock and fell in love.Bought two more for wife and son.My atrix quit playing videos of any kind.Even a 30 second video won't play.I am shopping for a new phone but don't want to pay the equivalent of a house payment for one but when I do make the purchase I'm gonna smash the atrix with a very large hammer! I have the same problems of: - Rebooting due to overheat of the phone (unstable) - not able to upgrade the system to 2.3 and the current one is not supported by almost all famous aplications. - battery consumption is very high ! - motpblur system which supports the phone is not working and useless. Any chinese brand would be better.

Piece of crap. Don't buy it. It keeps rebooting (it reboots itself without anyone using it like every 5 minutes), Motorola won't give you support. I've just had it for a couple of weeks and I have done everything to solve this problem! Changed battery, OS, factory reset, got a new one from guarantee, changed for new SIM CARD, etc. So I spent a lot of money in something I cannot use. Next time I should do some more research on phones or just go for a serious company like Apple. No, I don't work for Apple.

Good phone, worst OS ever. Pros: Fingerprint lock feature (a thing that you'll never use, but it's cool), Dock with USB and 3mm jack output and a f*cking awesome lapdock, that allows to use the phone as a kind of 'netbook'. Cons: Android 2.3 from the depths of hell! It crashes, got a lot of processes in background (that make the phone run slow), touchscrn with some glitches when charging, some times, when you got a call, you just CAN'T answer (no kidding), you got to shut the display off by pressing the block button, and then press it again and try to answer.

I did this to the phone: Unlocked the Bootloader, Installed MROM (Cyanogen 7.2). The ROM is fantastic on this phone. The WOLFSON 5.1 audiochip used for the HDMI output has the ability to use the full features of the DSP supplied for an awesome audio experience. MROM's base being the Cyanogen 7.2 unlocks the full potential of the phone, giving you Governors over the Kernel, and many other features. You can Over Clock the CPU easily by using a different Kernel, the one I used previously was a faux123 1.3Ghz OC Kernel, but I will stay with the the Kernel that came with MROM. The Kernel that comes with MROM is tweaked to extend battery performance to 3 days of light use. I must stress that the Bootloader must be unlocked to do this mod, and, unlocking the bootloader on this phone is old school cracking, not the one click you do to the newer phones. Moto locked this phone really well. You can get all the instructions over at the XDA Forum. Same place you will find the MROM.

Mine is a replacement say 4th one from the insurer after having lost one; broken one and had one with software issues. This current one however has this annoying habit of just having the clock and status bar disappear and then reappearing later. Can someone please help. Have been with the model since 2010. This phone could be a great if you ask me, but a trash - garbage support, also the Motoblur UI is a pain to use. It won't go beyond Gingerbread a word of advice to potential buyers, there is only custom roms for the ICS and some features won't work, no official ICS from Motorola and never will.

I've had this phone for almost 2 years already. Yes, almost 2 years already. I'm not the type of person that would replace a good phone just when a new phone sells on the market. The fingerprint reader still works. And with a dual-core CPU it still runs smoothly. Being stuck with GB and unable to upgrade to ICS or JB is not a downside for me. The only downside eversince I bought this phone was it takes too much time to open, maybe 2 minutes. Overall, if you're not a super-techie type person who uses his phone to do everything in his task, this phone is just amazing.

I've been using this phone for six months now. I bought it as a Christmas gift to myself. I'm 19, living in South America, and in university with no job so I was looking for a good phone, that wasn't a Blackberry, and that was affordable. Pros: 1. Affordable, especially when one considers the features available 2. Sleek design - looks top-notch; no one would guess this phone was out since 2010 3. Easy functionality 4. Internal memory capacity is good, and is expandable 5. Great speakers 6. I love the fingerprint reader - it gets me in quickly and I have a great time rubbing that feature in my friends' faces 7. Good battery life - my phone gets no more than 5 minutes rest with me, unless I'm sleeping. I also spend a great amount of time reading from it and it can withstand my heavy use for hours. 8. Great display - the resolution is fabulous. The dimmest light setting is still pretty bright; this could be a pro AND a con depending on how well your eye handles light. 9. Good camera - takes up to 5MP and, with a bit of editing with apps such as Aviary or Pixlr Express, can make 5MP look much higher. 10. I love the positioning of the power/fingerprint scanner button. Some persons posted this as a con, as the position is a bit unorthodox, but whenever someone picks up my phone, I have fun watching them futilely try to even turn on the display. It's a great deterrent for nosy persons. 11. Notification light - it isn't much, but I love the notification light; it saves me the trouble of turning on my display to see if there's a notification. My brother, who uses a Samsung Galaxy S2, is jealous of this little feature. 12. Good microphone that's great for voice recordings and the speech-to-text feature. There are probably more pros, but these are the ones that come off the top of my head! Cons: 1. Hard to see in bright sunlight - you can rectify this by upping the light setting, but that pulls much more battery life. 2. Sometimes slow response - this MIGHT be because I've downloaded too many apps or use too much RAM. It can get frustrating at times so if your patience is already low, be warned. 3. Music lags when doing other stuff - while doing other stuff, the music tends to lag and sounds jumpy; I don't know if others have this problem. My best friend also has this phone and has told me this has never happened to her. I just avoid using my phone for music and stick to my iPod. Music pulls a lot of battery anyway. 4. Sudden shutdowns - doesn't happen often, probably once every two weeks, but it's still annoying when it DOES happen.I read in the manual that you should restart your phone periodically, just like you would with a computer, but ain't nobody got time for that! 5. Takes FOREVER to restart - after those shutdowns and restarts, it takes my phone about 3-5 minutes to start back up, then another 30 seconds or so to start running smoothly. If you're someone like me who's constantly receiving messages, texts, emails, and updates, 5 minutes can seem like a lifetime. 6. Display gets twitchy after calls - whenever I put the phone to my face, after calls it begins acting up. I'm guessing that's because of the natural oils from my face gets on the screen and makes it seem like a touch. I have to put my phone to sleep then clean the screen before it gets back to normal. I don't know if my screen protector has anything to do with this too but it's still annoying and a bit scary. I just use my headphones on calls and avoid this problem entirely. I'm looking at my phone now and trying to come up with more cons, but I just can't! It really is a great phone. I'm not one who wants the most expensive phone,I just want one works well, looks good, and didn't cost me and arm and a leg. Coupled with an Otterbox case and a screen protector, this phone can compete with many of the more popular, top-notch phones at a fraction of the cost. My bottom line: get this phone!

Those who feel this crap is a great phone .. keep using for few months and the touchscreen will start dying for sure. I am repenting after buying this junk. just google for "motorola atrix touch screen not working" and you will get 1000s of posts for this common problem. I am from Singapore and tried my level best to explain Motorola that this is manufacturing problem but they gave me a deaf ear...! If you want to save money then go for local make or china phones but never buy Motorola.

Hi! There is not official update to ICS/JB. But, there is a group working on a Kernel to make this update posible. You can show your support making a donation. There are just 2 months since they start working on that kernel. (Since September many have the idea, but they started just 2 months ago).

The best phone I had so far, my Atrix is on Jellybean 4.1.2 and the performance is neat. Overclock to 1.4Ghz makes it more wonderful. Battery life is great, display of NVIDIA Tegra 2 is beautiful! I hope Motorola just release its new drivers.

The Battery on this thing is subpar in my opinion. Charge lasts less than a full day. I have had this phone less than 2x weeks. Yes, I do jminimize the power using features like WiFi search, Blue tooth search when indoors. Still, Something is draining my Battery. Maybe this is normal, if this is the case, I would have liked to know that before hand. Maybe then I would have purchased a different phone.

I use SE K800i earlier (conventional), and change to iPhone 4 (Apple OS) and change to Moto Atrix (Android). I would say, it is a good experience for me to get a such high-end phone from the conventional one and I would say, it is even better to use Android. Lucky for me also because my first experience on Android is with this awesome device - MOTOROLA ATRIX. I see the good rapport for Motorola in other country, but in mine, Motorola is not a famous brand. When I showed my phone to my friends, they will asked me back, "why let go the iPhone and go for Motorola..?" and I simply said nothing and boast with my HD video playback and they will drop the jaw and said, "the picture on the screen is great". Starting from that, I will show the phone features 1 by 1. :) this phone makes me feel great. Oh yeah! The device will get heat easily. I'm not gonna deny it. Battery life..? I'm a moderate user of the internet but I'm using 3G network all of the time. It can last for 1 day and if its on the 2G mode, it can brings up to 1 and a half day. For the price, I bought an original set for the price of RM799.00 only (got the free dock - where at some of the country, you have to pay for it). Cheaper but greater than iPhone. I do not understand why this phone is cheap with those great specs.

I've had alot of cells, but this takes the cake. THIS is th WORST cell I ever owned. Barely keeps a charge even when not in use. I keep loseing contacts. Thank goodness for Outlook. Also, the 3rd party apps to sync do no work faithfully. DO NOT waste your money. I can't wait till I'm able to purchase another cell. I may go Apple this time, maybe Samsung.

This is the best duel core phone out there. Got mine for 6months now and the best . You must flash the Retail and GB 2.3.4 on it . It has no bugs super battery life and great speeds and reception. Mine had the ME and 06 firmware but was bugy . Love my ATRIX

just got this phone second hand and nothing to really complain gets slow somtimes flipping through apps but what do you expect, my battery life is not bad its what you should expect out of a super phone, my battery last about 20 hours with data on and regular use. overall 8.5/10 rating only thing that could make it better is being able to get the latest OS on it. other then that descent phone.

The motorola atrx is THE WORST cell i ever owned. Can't wait till my eligibility is available. The cell keeps NO charge, the ad is fasle. The screen freezes, the programs freeze. And issues with syncing & losing contacts. Rite now me typing my curser and pointer are in different locations...be warned.

I have a motorola atrix for a little over a year and I am on my 4th one. I do not drop my phone or rough house with it but it has turned into a nightmare. The first one I had I lost but had no problems. When I got my replacement it has been one non stop problem after the next. I am ready to throw it somewhere. Now as far as for the power of the phone and all the features it is great. Running multiple applications and doing multiple things the phone is great. But now I am up to my 4th replacement phone (three were warranty replacements) for this reason. After the after a few weeks to a month the phone starts shutting off and shutting back on by itself. This cycle has repeated for up to six hours and drove me crazy. I thought is might have been something I downloaded so I did a virus scan and came up clean. I did a factory reset and erased everything in the phone and it did not help. Then I got my next Atrix. It started out good for two months and then the problem started again. I just got my 3rd warranty replacement and here we go again. Me At&t are going to have a problem if they send me this phone again. I have been a customer for 13 years I think I deserve better than them sending me the same phone with software issues that they have not worked out. Oh by the way the second warranty replacement kept having modem failure. That message would come up on the motorola screen when emblem came up when you powered the phone on. Which I was told was a problem that came up from time to time. When it did come all the way on, it would cycle on and off. When the phone works it is great, but when these problems start to arise it's horrible. I spoke to an at&t employee and he told me the first Atrix was not a good product. He said the second one was much better. Here's hoping at&t finally makes right with me and sends the Atrix 2.

I have had this phone for about a year, it started off well but began to crash and freeze at least twice a week after a couple of months. Also a 1cm strip of the touchscreen has recently decided to become unresponsive! And as far as the battery life goes, you should not have to buy other batteries to boost the life of a phone, and if you dont thisne will last for about a day tops without another charge if you want it to still be on the next morning! I bought this phone with a two year contract and its lasted half of that, not good enough!! Buy something from sony or rim, better design

After owning a Motorola years ago and thinking that the hardware was nice but the software let it down too much I gave in a bought a Defy. The Defy is a great little phone from a hardware perspective(bar a few problems with dodgy earpieces), but again, not good software... I then for some reason bought an Atrix hearing it was going to get ICS. Yet again. Good, but not great, phone hardware a buggy installation of Android. Should have learned... Still no ICS.. And now I'm hearing bad things about other Motorola ICS updates, I don't have high expectations.. Google really needs to whip Motorola's development team into shape. It'll continue to be a waste of innovative hardware if they don't. Having said that, I'm just about to take apart my Atrix to see if I can fix the defective headphone jack...

This phone is great, I've had it for almost a year and it's still going strong. It's about as powerful as the iPhone 4 processor-wise, and it has a better camera with the trade-off of a less dense screen. The durability of this phone is astounding. I've dropped it at LEAST 30 times, and the only sign of dropping it is a few scratches here and there. I'm actually pretty sure the cheap case I bought at the mall put more damage to my phone than dropping/normal use has. It's a pretty great phone, and the battery life is awesome too. I plan on getting the HD when my contract expires instead of the iPhone 4S or 5, because having the freedom of the Android OS just makes everything easier with customization, and I really do love the Swype function, it makes one-handed typing so much easier. The only thing you need to make sure you do is get a large SD card, I think it supports up to 16GB, because the delete game isn't very much fun, and the phone won't operate very efficiently when it has low memory...it actually gets really annoying with its pop-ups. The LED light on the front is a neat feature too, but I guess most Android phones have those; same with blackberry's. Overall, love the phone, wouldn't want anything else, it's perfect.

Ive owned this phone since it came out in Feb 2011. It is a very powerful phone packed with tons of features. The battery life on the standard battery is pretty good, but what I did was purchase 3 super extended batteries on ebay for $15 with charger. So now I get 26 hours of battery life per super battery, or 78 hours in total. Thats over 3 days of battery life at full brightness with GPS, WIFI, cell data, and location data all enabled! If I shut the phone off while sleeping, the battery loses almost no charge at all, so in an emergency, I could get over a week and a few days of battery life with those 3 super batteries and shutting down the phone while sleeping. The dual core CPU is very good, especially with the nice Tegra2 GPU from nvidia. Certain THD games take advantage of that special GPU to add awesome effects to the games that couldnt have them otherwise like nice water effects, reflections, chrome, particle effects and advanced physics. The phone has an external memory card slot, so I was able to stick in a 32GB memory stick for added storage. The camera is good enough to take pics of important documents, locations, names, etc, but as a photographer I would never use it for serious phototography needs.. never use a cellphone camers for real photography, just get a nice DSLR and your good. But with that assumption in place, and knowing that the image quality is not great, the live preview updates at nearly 60fps on screen. what that means is there is no hand-eye-focus lag that even the iphone 4s suffers from. That traditional lag is an annoyance where your hand and eyes are ready to take a picture but your cellphone is still adjusting the screen and moving around slowly like its trying to run through a pool of molasses. This Atrix cellphone camera does not suffer from that lag, so you have the freedom to move and take a photo instantly. It feels good even though the photo quality in the end is not that great. So what else is that good for? Some apps and games use the camera to project 3D objects and elements ontop of the live footage on screen. For those games and apps, the Atrix will feel very smooth and fluid where other phones including the iphone 4s feel very sluggish. The HDMI output is near useless. I can use it to view photos or video on TV. It cannot show the phone, apps or games on TV (no mirror mode). You can purchase a laptop dock (or hack your phone into pretending its inside the dock) and then the phone runs 1 CPU to control a full laptop mode and at the same time the other CPU runs the rest of the phone. So you have access to a full Firefox browser with full Flash player, but only half the CPU resources, so it starts to lag. A better approach would have been to just go with a full mirror mode. The fingerprint reader is awesome but its only easy to use it with the regular battery and regular battery case. This phone has 1GB of RAM, so it can run many apps at once without crashing and without slowing down. I can seamlessly be playing a game, then goto the browser, then goto another app and then a different game and back to the original game with no problem at all. I think any phone today with problems crashing probably just needs more RAM. I was able to easily unlock and root this phone so I could remove any of the default APPs and widgets that Motorola and ATT tried to lock in. With those apps removed, my phone boots faster, shuts down in 2 seconds and the battery life is a little longer. Back to the battery life... For years now many people have been trying to blame battery life on various things like background data, WIFI, Flash player, apps that wont close.. Well for the past year and a half I have monitored the Android battery details and the #1 use of the phone's battery is the display screen itself! roughly 40% of a cellphone's battery will be spent powering on the screen. So if you want more battery time on an existing battery, lower your brightness and see how much longer you get. The next battery hog is Cell Standby at 38%! So if you really need to make your battery last longer, put it in airplane mode and lower the brightness... thats almost 80% of the battery life saved! My games use up a mere 6% of battery life. The OS and music take up 4% combined. Wifi takes up 4% battery. And remember Mr Jobs saying that Flash is a battery hog?? Flash and my Android browser used up exactly 3% of my battery! Wow! Also you can find these options in setting menu. I recommend using notrino ROM, In actual fact you should root your phone, check out Xda-Developers site there are many Custom battery friendly ROMs Also there are some third-pary apps wich can switch atrix Radio to 2G, 3G or ... from widgets on home screen. have fun.

as an answer to your second question, yes, there is an option in atrix switching from 3g to 2g. it is preferable to switch to 2g to save battery if you're using wifi connection always.

My first andriod and its very good, well worth the money. Loads of call time with a decent battery. Cant see why its so cheap to be honest. Runs loads of games and does everything i want it.to for only 15 pounds a.month. very pleasing to the eye and not heavy. I dont understand why this phone is very cheap. Its comparable with optimus 2x and even slightly with galaxy s2, but way cheaper... so i decide to buy this phone as my iphone 4 battery now really sucks, so i need 2 phone now. And boom... this phone really worthed compare with its price. I am on my third on, first 2 drop calls and battery got hot, The last on won't boot and when it does it shuts off and reboots, ATT won't replace it execpt with a refurbuished on, I had 2 of those withnot much help. Writing this comment on my phone sat it bed listening to music on my phone whilst downloading pdf files from my internet to revise later. Got this phone a month ago. I've updated Froyo to Gingerbread on the same day and used it as usual. I was amazed on its performance, really fast. Now, a month later, for curiosity reason, I factory reset it using the phone Settings. Got nervous at doing it in the first place because the phone is still very good almost as it was when i took it out on the box, no lagging or freezing, etc. But i did it and never regretted it. It regain the lost memory from installing uninstalling apps, etc. Also, for better camera resolution, use 5MP than the WS, for me it's better.

Hey, I am a bit of an audiophile and have been using the atrix for a while now for music. The sound quality is great and plays at a high kbps, but there is a bit of an issue with the headphone jack. It gets fillid with lint and dust really easily. Use a case or a hip holster if you are serious about sound quality, no pockets.

I have been using the Atrix for Several months now and have to say it is quite a little phone. It does great at photos, sound is good on speaker and with head phones it sounds GREAT! The call quality is better than any phone I have had to date (iPhone, Crackberry, Siemens sx66, Razer...the list goes on), and it is easier to use. You get to customize the phone the way you want it, load apps to meet your wildest dreams and wishes. Talk time is pretty good even if you surf the internet. I also use it with the media dock. It does some surfing well and music/video is also pretty good. All in all you could do a lot worse. And as a closing note...if you get a Smart Phone PROTECT IT! These things cost a lot of money! I use Ghost Armor...there are other names like invisisheld, invisable armor and others. They put a thin shield on your phone and protect it from cracks and scratches and don't cause touch issues. they clean up easily and normally don't cause problems with using most attachments(except hard cases...fit to tight) but rubber ones should slip on fine. they also act as a non skid surface for your phone also. Since it has unlockable bootloader you can install Cyanogenmod 9 in aprox 2 months. Cyanogenmod 9 is a mod based on ICS and is way better than official ICS build with motoblur bloatware. For more information look at xda forum or google it.

I got it while it was one of the only dual core phones. It has been good except for a few things I don't like about blur, pen-tile screen, and cannot play many racing games due to the touchscreen not recognizing long presses for the gas pedal. Hope it gets ICS and maybe some more issues addressed.

Don't usually post but had to correct some of nonsense on here. Had this phone approx 1 month now - in uk and GB update immediately available - got rid of lot of 2.2 blur nonsense. Screen fantastic, phone superfast - copes pretty much with anything you throw at it and call quality outstanding. Update to ics would be icing on cake but even without still exceptional future proofed phone.

The touch screen is the extremely brilliant, better than iphone I had before. The 1 GB RAM is just terrific. Adobe flash videos run pretty damn good unlike iphone which does not support.

Most user unfriendly phone I have ever used. Unintuitive features. I spent 30 minutes on the phone with AT&T support trying to figure out how to replay to a text and add one more person to the reply. They didn't figure it out in 30 min. Later of figured out how to do it but it takes more keystrokes then a well designed phone should. The screen goes dark fast even though I have the settings on 2 minutes. This often results in dropped calls if I have to select menu options but the screen has already turned off. Can't wait til my contract is over and I can get a different phone.

This is one of the best smart phone from motorola. No doubt, it's bettry life is great(1930mAH)in normal usages, its last up to 2 to 2.5 days. The only lacking feature is not having FM. I expect from motorola that it will soon get the update of ICS. I just bought a desk tpo charger to charge the battery as it did not charge in the hand set but the charger blew up again it purchased an other good charger and at last succeeded to fully charge the battery i connected with an ordinary cable to my pc in which i have downloaded 2.34 from motorola website after some time the transfer began and my atrix was alive again with 2.3.4 and it living till now it fast and furious with a marvelous battery time of a least two and a half day with moderate to heavy use i just fully discharged it a few times and fully charged again another thing that you must activate the add the unwanted applications in the auto end list of the task manager of the phone no need to download any task killer i never had made the display to the minimum it on the auto and display is beautiful in even bright sunlight it has never frozen so far i just love it because of its battery time its sound display and on call audio.Its simply the best. For the owners who have made their phones a brick just like me if there is a boatload fail and error4 appears on screen they just follow my procedure above and hopefuly there atix will be alive in half an hour.

Every phone with hdmi can be used as a computer. I have seen even Nokia N8 with it's slow cpu manage to do it with no problems at all with a display, mouse and keyboard. Hdmi is a good feature indeed and Atrix should do about 4 times as good as Nokia N8 which is handling it good with bad processor.

hi every1,just i have updated my atrix with gingerbread!its a automated air update in uk...mine 1 is from t-mobile...too many mice changes...moto blur got a new face not that slow now,the keyboard got faster like 'worlds most powerfull smartphone' should have,most of the icons got a new look and the whole moto theme got a skyblue feeling...if any1 got it must noticed!i am happy now with my atrix,very happy!

Hi Just to let you know i bought the atrix in march when it first came out and 13 replacements later ATT finally agreed to give me a different phone it seems the main problem that we have had is connecting to the brower and data none availaible even though att states nothing wrong it appeared to be a good phone but having had repeated issues we are now happy going with the new rocket galixy 2 we have many friends who have it and are very pleased ,please do research we never did just letting you know good luck with your choice ,thnaks Desiree from nyc

My Atrix should be here on Saturday so can get some testing done over weekend and will report if update available..Its locked to T-Mobile UK but we will seee about that..I am pretty good at hacking into Samsungs but i think being realistic Moto is harder..I am going to see how things go before maybe going for Atrix 2 or most likely the new Razr xt9xx smartfone cant remember number off hand. The big gtrouble is the 2 last fones i mentioned are big like sgs2 ive got rid of for being too big..The ironic thing is the moto Atrix is really brilliant size for a 4inch screen...Who knows may end up keeping Atrix..

Yeah I got my ATRIX a few months ago for $220.00 off craigslist. Luckily the guy who sold it to me informed me of the military grade fingerprint reader that is used as the lock so he configured it to my fingers. Next I changed a few apn settings, threw my straight(Ripoff)talk sim card into it. Downloaded a few things rooted it and yeah full wireless hotpot for my computers (approx. 5gb a month) Unlimited internet, text, and calling $45 a month! This phone is bad ass my sister has the htç win. 7 phone and t mine plays full internet java hers doesn't, watch youtube videos without waiting (3X faster) unlimited 411, she pays T-Mobile for their network $85 a month for 1000my mins

This is a tremendous phone. Got mine two weeks ago and I'm still discovering features on it. For something different but equally (or more) capable than a Blackberry, iPhone or Samsung Galaxy SII, it can't be bettered. If you're considering it, I would say - get it.

This has NOT been a good phone for me! It constantly shuts down and can only be restarted by removing the battery! I cannot depend on my emails to come thru promptly...i wont get any and all of a sudden i will get 25 at 1 time! This is not a service problem because my daughter is getting hers just fine on her iphone. I paid a lot of money for this phone and now im not due an upgrade for 2 years so it looks like i will be going in the hole especially after i buy a new IPHONE!

Nice phone, but it overheats and reboots very often. Wonder if there is a cover available for this model with a small fan.... If you buy one, be sure to kill the apps as you stop using them, never leave it face-up, and don't plan on using to to maintain phonecalls unless you have a wireless headset, as the heat from your hand and face will be enough to cause the device to reboot.

I have had the Atrix 4 weeks and it's one of the best smartphones I have had. HTC Hero, HTC Smart, iPhone 3G, Nokia C3-00, Blackberry Curve 9300 have been my handsets for the past 3 years and the Atrix is going to kept for a long time. Smooth function, excellent multimedia (DLNA is amazing), Android, fingerprint security (had no issues), great screen, reasonable skinning with Motoblur (would prefer HTC Sense or pure Android), great battery life for a smartphone rounds off the best points and I got it free on £10.00 per month contract with Orange UK. Bad points: Camera could be better, video quality not that great, wish accessories were cheaper but other than that highly recommend this phone and it should be getting cheaper as the Atrix 2 heads for production.

Congratulation to you, i am still waiting for this phone to come in India. Now tips for you, 1. when it arrives check that the seal is present you have all the materials in the package. 2. Place the battery and sim in the cell and enjoy till you reach to battery level zero and the phone switches off. 3. Now charge the phone for 12 hours do not use the phone within this time so switch it off. 4. Repeat the 2nd and 3rd points for a week so that the battery cells get active. P.S. Try charging the phone overnight so you can use it for rest the day like (8pm-8am).

I used to have the iphone 3gs, which I hated from the start. the cryPhone was my first supposed "smart" phone. I bought the droid in-store for $100.00 pluss tax. I love it. Its processor speed far superceedes the iphone 3gs and 4. The Atrix has plenty of awsome features and perks. On the negative, if you download a ringtone that you want to use as a text notification, you have to download an app to allow for ringtone creation or editing. But other than that, I love the phone and would recommend it to anyone who wants a smart, fast incredibly awsome phone. Too bad AT&T's coverage sucks in rural areas. I live in Maine, no 4G, won't be for a while.

i would say for battery power usage, this phone is a big improvemrnt over the last season model call the charm.(that phone comes with two batteries; one regular one heavy duty ones, for a reason!). but it is still no camparison to other smart phone like the samsung galxy or any other non american name brand.therefore before i put any money on a motorola smartphone; i would test its battery power first, nothing else!

@I.n.K A long term phone indeed. Reason: 1. Bad call quality resolved by turning off noise supression settings built-in. 2. Slipery body resolved by buying a silicon case. Although it caused the phone to be bulkier but solid. 3. If your phone ever got stolen. Moto Blur can easily locate the phone. Effective when used immediately after stolen. And the fingerprint security is not easy to be cracked. 4. And with such amount of money you invested to buy the phone, definitely a long-term phone suits its value and just a slight over throne by SGS2 :)

Let's start with the moment I got the phone. Moto Blur login does made me blur in using the phone as first-time Motorola smartphone user. The first time I inserted the SIM card, the phone did not manage to hook onto my telco's network due to the loose grip of the SIM card holder. WiFi stability is not that great. Camera quality best under natural light. Sucks indoor. Camera contrast is terrible. Auto focus is average. Flash works great. Fingerprint credentials works superb and saves a lot of time. HD video played smoothly. There are some games that crashed often but the gaming experience for most games are the best. social networking integrates well under Moto Blur. Android Froyo or Gingerbread won't make much different. Call quality is quite bad and noisy. Sound from speaker quality is loud and clear. The body is slippery. Battery life is basically ~1 and half days under regular usage without data plans. All and all, the phone has great and practical security, but unfortunately it lacks of usability with bad call quality, slippery body and such. Recommended for avid Android gamers and Social networkers :)

@bryann - i dont gs2, i just feel that maybe it may not be as fast as gs2 but im content with my atrix. previously got milestone 1 wifi reach was not strong but now atrix can reach our bedroom, can watch full free stream movie, sounds are ok try to use Gtunes, camera 5/10 for me, but iys fine as i dont use it much, also love the media dock using bluetooth keyboard w/built in mousepad, using firefox in my 40" samsung tv, what else... hhhmmm i can last the battery a day as im a heavy net user, games are vgood, ah one more i dont like yet, cant use YM or Skype video calls which im frustrated as of now, but waiting for updates... also in here in Singapore current same postpaid plan atrix need to pay additional 46$ while gs2 still need to pay $298... and atrix also got media dock.

i got this phone and at first i thought it wasnt as good as i thought it would be, i wanted something different and i have had blackberry's in the past, i wanted to re-live the motorola star tac days when i was at secondary school.lol, the phone has super fast internet, easy to use, has hdmi port so you u can watch films, play music onto a hd tv, camera qulaity is standard 5mp quality video quality is ok too, best thing about this phone is all the widgets and its android. i aint sed the dock yet but you can then get the pc experience overall ill give this phone 7/10.

I decided to find out about the Gingerbread update but found a lot of commotion on the subject..I can get it sim free but it seems like no GB for it but may be able to flash it.. When i had sgs2 on 2.3.3 and then after a few weeks flashed unofficial 2.3.4 i got 50% better battery life overnight,,so updating the Atrix to 2.3 does bring some good speed increase and better Motoblur so they say but i reckon the upgrade of Atrix to 2.3.4 will see significant speed and battery performance.

I have had sgs2 and it does stutter when you press to unlock and splash screen is pain to move out of way each time..I see you say its faster on web than sgs2 so i presume you have had sgs2..if you had to reccomend Atrix would you say its good machine or its got all the spec but not well executed..I suppose thats an impossible question but folk know when something is good or not very good.. I bought this product as an alternative to the iPhone, for more customizable features, such as ringtones, bluetooth sharing, and for the Google/Android OS. The fingerprint reader security feature was also a big draw. The display is really clear, and the screen itself is great because it is scratch proof, etc. (Gorilla). The internal memory is also pretty big and can be expanded with an external memory card. The only thing that gets a little confusing are the tips and hints and how to get to some of them after you read it, when you first start using it. I thought I would be able to change the tone for text messages, but as of yet, I haven't found a way and don't know if it is a feature. Also, in order to change the main google account that you register with, you have to restart the phone to factory settings. Other than that, it is pretty much easy to use. I haven't yet downloaded too many apps, but when searching, they have much of the same ones as the iPhone, so that is a definite plus. There is almost nothing I don't like about this phone. I am really happy with it thus far.

I chose the Atrix because It's better than similar phones in weak signal areas which is essential when running a business. My last phone was an HTC desire which in my opinion is a friendlier and more polished phone to use. I have customised the Atrix with apps to make it more like the HTC. I am very happy with it and have had no issues. Reccomended.

if you are going to do a comparison, use the current operating system in the atrix 2.3.4 it really updates the phone and places it in the same league as all the other phones and most likely allows it to excell in many cases. the update has been available, FREE, to all Atrix owners. The QHD screen is even better, the camera is outrageous, battery life is extended, special features are soo much fun; etc. - jessica

Sounds like your problem is with AT&T and their bloatware apps, and not the actual Atrix itself... You should try rooting the phone and installing a custom non-AT&T rom.

Well, I've had this phone since May and am totally happy with it here in the UK. Had a little issue with the finger print reader but this has been resolved. No issues with games, touch screen and I have the Otter Commuter case which is hard as nails....dropped it and watched it bounce. As for wifi - I haven't had this issue at all Wifi works great - and I have my 3G / hsdpa switched off....only use wifi at home and only use the phone to *Shock* makes and send txts...only download at home through the wifi.... Sounds like you've had acouple of bad eggs. Speak to motorola.....they may help. I actually had the Arc before this but sent it back...poor build, poor wifi.....go figure. All in all my time with Atrix has been pretty much faultless...Hope yours improves.

Alright I've many many problems with this pos phone being an owner of one for over a month. For one, in the us if u have art and use this phone, ya better get the biggest fu#$%n data plan they have since it does NOT work solely on wifi. When u enter wifi mode, your h+ are supposed to disappear or have a check under it assuring u that u are indeed on wifi....which it doesn't. I had went over my data (2gb) in less than n hour downloading my programs.....VIA F@$KIN WIFI ONLY!!! And of course u call art and the first time they say that they have had problems with this and the next call they say that not on complaint has been said about the atrix 4g. That's another thing....the atrix is NOT A 4G PHONE IN ANY WAY. It doesn't even have the required software/4g radio capable of completing this. Anyways back to the wifi bs...I went to the store after calling them and demanding a different phone and them basically telling me I was a effin liar and PROVED IT TO THEM THAT IT WILL NOT SOLELY USE WIFI. In fact, I got an app to turn off my mobile data and guess what happened? It basically took whatever data I used on wifi with my data off so it wouldnt rape me and added it to the total amount of data used......sending me over 2 total guys...and their overage on a gig is $10! So this is $30 of data I DIDN'T FUCKING USE!!! And att doesn't care! They gave me a new phone since I was still within my 30 days....and what happens? THE SAME SHIT!!! And another couple things about this phone, they have 3rd party apps which defeats the purpose of having an android device....if I didn't want to be able to use 3rd party apps I would've bought an iphone. And the gorilla glass it says it has on it....YEAH OK.....what an effin joke....I dropped my phone the one n only time and it landed on the corner of it with a case on and cracked a triangle into my phones glass.....when gorila glass is supposed to be able to take a point with 1000lbs of pressure behind it eh? And the games.....they have about 5 gameloft games that work for it while they have about 45 that work with xperia powered devices....when tegra was out before right? And most of the games that u find out of the market after u run the exploit to allow u to "sideload" that claim up n down that they work for tegra 2 devices, DON'T FUCJIN WORK WITH THE ATRIX. overall this phone is a piece of shit....o and the multitouch is slow as fuck....it was great before I had ANYTHING on my phone but after I put so much as a picture on my phone, fps games will make u want to murder the atrix...the multitouch is shit....whole phone was a waste of time n money. My wife and I have had our Moto Atrix phones for several months. My only gripes is that the battery life isn't great but considering all the things it has loaded up and running at times, it's expected. Another, is the camera, the camera, side by side with other droid phones, it's the as good but this phone will smoke most phones on the market, including the Iphone 4 which, a family member has and I was considering on getting but I sick and tired of the phone having to connect to Itunes to upload all my pictures, music, ecetera. The Atrix, is a breeze, all I do is copy and paste what I want in specific folders and I'm done in 95% of the time faster than with stupid itunes...Never going back to Apples, not so user friendly devices!

I have just got this phone, and my major complain is exactly the battery. I'm still going to test it in battery save mode when unplugged. But if I let it synchronize all it wants when unplugged, the battery will last one day - and I mean work day and not 24 hours. At night the battery is running low already, below 15%.

My brother-in-law has got 3 iphones (one 3G, and two iphone 4/32 - one was brought in China for local use, not including the iphone 4/16 he brought for my sister). He even got an ipad. After playing the ipad for a few weeks, I do not see him using it anymore! Regarding his iphone 4's, he's tired of the apps & games. Also that the battery life is terrible. The downloads are slow. He just brought the Motorola Atrix last week, and told me that this phone is very fast as compared to his iphones, and that he is enjoying the Atrix very much. Dude you should upgrade you phone. When I first bought my phone in Hong Kong it had the same problem. It would resart for no reason. Back in Brazil I installed the brazilian retail rom and that problem ceased since then. It also ceased the problem with the biometric reader, wich sometimes would stop working.

If you have play list of mp3 songs it sometimes stop playing the mp3 song you are listen to and play the song before it but show the song information of the song you where listening to. Also The fingerprint reader stop working on and off where you have to restart the handset to get it working again. Also the colors on the screen like yellow are displayed incorrectly. And After doing research I found there more then 12000 users world wide with same issues as me with no fix from Motorola and I have also found that it's cause because of poorly developed software by Motorola and some people have said they had to root the phone before it started working correctly. Why has Motorola not recalled this handset or push out a fix? I'm not happy about this because I pay out almost $1000 for this phone only to have phone I can not use.

The next generation of smartphone.. I'll admit I did feel a bit 007 when I was swiping my finger the first new times.once set up. Motorola have not lied,it does only recognise your finger print... Thankfully Moto blur works well on the Atrix,the sosial media widgets are nice and colorful and they can be moved and resized across the 7 home screens.... The keypad is one of the best I have used on Android devise. It is responsive, doesn'n get sluggish,and the buttons are well space. Yep certainly a very good phone... This is my first android phone as I was using the i8910 which uses symbian. It really is a breath of fresh air :):)...so, unlike other I ain't too fussed about android 2.3 jailbreaking blah blah....I'm just loving the android experience abeit using a high end device :):) I've been looking at vs battles between this and the LG 2xx, SGs2 and to be honest even after the bench marks I don't believe I'm missing out much. All these are fast and have great spec build wise it's certainly the Atrix and LG in front. I got a phone that works very well, is speedy, great screen and will do me nicely for the next 18 months... As per my previous comment....Orange UK have again dropped the ball BIG TIME!!! Delivery of the Work and Play Kits has been severly disrupted. They didn't even have the courtesy to tell anyone. It took me to phone them to find out. Also two of their agents told I would receive it with 7 to 10 days of recieving the phone but have know been told it can up 28 days !?!?!?...Come Orange UK sort your story and precedures out, you really are letting the customer down. Not only this, they "forgot" to add the data and pic msg part of my contract.....Sorted now thanks to the very helpful Adam in the Orange loyalty team :) But leave a bitter taste in one's mouth.... Hey All, Got my Atrix from Orange and am pleased to confirm that this phone feels and looks great...I had the Arc before this which is a good phone but in my opinon build quality was poor...quite creaky. The tech support chap I spoke to had NEVER heard of the Atrix, seen one or had any handson experience....he put this down to Motorola reps never coming in to demo the device where he was based in the UK!?!?!?!...I could not believe this!!!! Orange and Motorola should be ashamed of themselves...felt sorry for the agent...althoughh I would have thought that staff would to an extent be aware of what handsets they carry.... Just waiting for the free HD dock, keyboard and mouse to be delivered :):) On the whole a great device and if you don't like motoblur....switch it off...By the way I ain't no fanboy :) Hope this feed back helps...

Picture quality is great. Doesn't hang at all. Fingerprint scanner is useful. 1GB RAM = best for multi-tasking & Laptop dock Build quality is simply the best + feels good while holding it. Laptop dock can be use as a clock, charger.

Maybe Motorola is being more realistic than other manufacturers as far as standby time goes. Have you ever had a phone that has come close to claimed standby figures? So stop dwelling on standby time. RAM and ROM do not use battery power. It is just the phones available memory.

I have use the phone for good 3 weeks now and I must say Motorola phone has improved from the last I owned one. I see people complaining about the FM radio but who needs it when you can use Pandora or other internet radio app. Only thing though, I wish it could use MP3 as ringtone rather than having to convert it using a computer.

Atrix has radio. This feature is inside on music player. I have one. I just trade my Galaxy S on it. I was so tired of waiting for fixing the Galaxy's GPS and all crap from Samsung. I work with mobile applications and have the opportunity of handle many devices. This is the best I got till now that is the reason I got it. Not big fan of Motorola but looks like they are coming back to the right path. I recommend it.

Blazingly fast !!! Excellent battery life qHD display is bright, crisp, and text/graphics are easy to see on it. Currently its the best resolution you can get on an Android phone. Finger print scanner(Very cool) Nvidia and tegra Zone(its not much now but I think it will expand soon) I've had all the iPhones, a Blackberry Torch and a Samsung Captivate Android phone and the Motorola Atrix will run circles around them all. I was kind of turned off on Android after the Samsung Captivate but I thought I would give it one more try. This phone is a whole different story. Faster than anything I've ever had. Video chat works great with Tango. Finger print scanner works exactly like it should. I could go on and on but I'm just going to leave it by saying Motorola really got it right. Hi i am using since 4 days follwing are my observations 1)Good long battery 2)Touch responce and sence is nice 3)Screen Resolution is good but display not bad 4)Good stereo crosstalk in music and loud in Earphones but listening some noice for old songs hope not good noise reduction in music 5)call clarity is good but loud speaker is not impressive 6)net surf is fast and almost all codec video formats are playing if u install vital player from android market 7)i used 8 hours wifi still 20% battery is available 8)look is very bad need to improve in stylish look like meatalic body for this type of high end mobiles 9)Its getting heat very quickly need to troubleshoot this by motorola 10)camera is medium I hope this is useful. if any body having any questions i will try to answer.

You are wrong about a SAMSUNG Galaxy S II. Maybe Motorola ATRIX is faster than pre-release of SAMSUNG Galaxy S II, but not faster than finall release of SAMSUNG Galaxy S II (1.2GHz CPU). Also there is some talks about a SAMSUNG Galaxy S II with Tegra 2.

I disagree. The Motorola Atrix is a very bad device. The camera is very poor compared to my N8 and the finger print scanner is defective. It does not work on my friend's Atrix and it's his 2nd Atrix in 3 weeks. The laptop dock is too expensive and not really useful just like the Android OS.

Well, seams that Motorola ATRIX is really not bad device, but basically there is two things I don't like: 1) Poor quality camera. 2) For some reasons I don't like this fingerprint scanner. P.S. I think that "Laptop Dock" is pretty useless thing. Let's think... if I can take this "Laptop Dock" with me, then I should be able to take laptop too. Then why should I take this "Laptop Dock" if laptop is much more powerful and useful than this "Laptop Dock" it is just a screen with a keyboard. Also it is preatty not cheap.

You should see Gsmaarena's review of this poor phone. It's unusable and it lags even with a dual cpu. Unlike my Nokia N8 which is lag free and so fast this thing is nothing compared to it. Nokia is really better than Motorola and the n8 fails against my N8!

I really like my atrix. The screen is clear without seeming like it's too bright, it's like looking at a photograph. The sleep or lock button isn't in the best spot possible in my opinion. I have one concern about the phone, that is 2 weeks after I got it the screen malfunctioned and the front camera stopped working. The screen would go haywire, start typing ,zooming in and out, scrolling up and down, appeared to be related to the area across from the charging port. Hopefully this phone isn't faulty cause I really love it. It's pretty close to perfect.

so i made my mind to switch from iphone4 to motorola atrix. i got the fone from AT&T in the US and am using it on 3 network in Australia. very good performance, battery charges fast and lasts longer than iphone 4.it uses HSPDA and doesnt use 3G network here in australia. i love it every bit but only think i hate is its cheap plastic look, think motorola cut costs there and invested on the technology. anyway i got a otterbox defender for the atrix and so it has got best clothes on now.

For your first smartphone I suggest you get the Nokia N8.it got battery life that last for days just like the featurephones you're used to and the camera is so good, it makes the N8 a steal for its price. But that is just my opinion and I bet a lot of these blind fandroids will disagree with me.

I've had the Atrix for about a month. Generally pleased with device but wish could sort by both first or last name for phone contact list. Currently only first name only...only phone I'm aware of with this issue. Also, trying to do video chat with IPhone users. I've installed the Qik Video app as instructed but can't get it to work. you should check if optimus 2x and motorola atrix has drawbacks as they are released. i don't advice you to get a nokia phone at the moment as there screens are limited to 640x360 while others reached 960x540 or 800x480. In my opinion you should consider only 2x,atrix, and galaxy S II. Optimus 3D and HTC 3D are good devices through.

Love the phone height, its only 117mm like my n97. Way better then the long phones that are 123mm plus. I like how motorola push the screen up as high as poswible keeping a thin bezel or edging around the screen. The smaller the edges the bigger the screen looks in comparison to the overall phone size. It's not enough to use the zoom(if the phone has example 16x zoom, with 5 MP when you wants to zoom up to 16x, the picture will be a disaster, but with a 12 MP camera phone with 16x digital zoom the image quality will be MUCH better!). I hope that you understand what I mean. By the way I like Motorola, you know that! :)

Enough for what? If with 5MP I can record HD Video at 1080p and shoot good picture even if it isn't the best still there are nice (iphone 4, Milestone, Backflip, Milestone 2, Atrix 4G). As you can see iphone is number 1 then Moto number 2 but no Sony Ericsson even with those best camera. So in overall Moto is better than HTC and SE.

Well, I don't really agree with you that 5 MP is enough. If you have a phone with MORE MP, then you can zoom more you understand me? You can use your zoom freely(and the image quality will be great), but if the MP range is lower, you can't really zoom, because the quality will be NOT so good. If you don't believe me just buy a Satio and use the zoom... :) You said that Sony Ericsson and HTC are left behind...I agree in some points, example Motorola has phone with bigger internal memory, but SE doesn't have. SE has phones with better camera than Motorola. HTC is a great company, but they has some problems at making phones with bigger internal memory.

Do you really know what is a profession camera? Can you go in a jungle with your cellphone a take pictures of animals like lions, which must be taken very far not to be in danger? Do you know the optimal zoom you need in a professional camera? In fact, in global people don't need more than 5MP to take picture because with a 5MP you can print perfect pictures in A3 and A4 and normal photos. I think the main difference between these 2 super-smarphones, is the display. The galaxy S II has a 4"3 and Atrix has 4" so the samsung is larger, this is why I got an Atrix. second point : Galasy S II get a super AMOLED plus screen so the colors will be so soooo great, in the other hand Atrix get a high resolution and the advantage we already know (iphone 4). Do you prefer : a smaller size, or a bigger size ? Color or ease of reading ?

This is a hard question. I would choose the Galaxy S2, but that has a weaker battery than this one. The Galaxy S2 has a better camera, it has a bigger screen. I think that the Galaxy S2 has a better screen, but the Atrix's screen is good too! Both have the same amount of Ram, but the CPU's are different. As I know, the Optimus 2X is the fastest phone! You choose. If you want a phone with big internal storage, go 4 the Galaxy S2. If you want a phone with biometric fingerprint sensor and a great CPU, go 4 the Atrix.

i love this phone and the battery life is stated and when i took it back to att provider and asked why i thought i wasn't holding a charge if you look at the specs it says 540 mins divide that by 60 and you have about 8 very good hours of multiple application time which is longer than i want to work anyway so point is it has one gig of ram to run how long can you go by battery if you have that much power its the top of the line phone in alot of aspects just keep it charged when you're not using it

Don't judge the battery life by the numbers provided. Motorola is known to publish the real actual hours of operation, whereas others pump the numbers up like crazy. Look at samsung, their numbers are achievable only in dreams. Look at moto defy, it has one of the lowest standby time published, but is known for a very good battery life, almost top of the range. Also, the first reviews of the Atrix can confirm a good battery duration

There are a lot of people on here talking about how great the battery life on this phone is. This has to be one of the worst battery's I've ever seen in a smart phone. Only 3G battery life is decent. Do a compare on Atrix vs Galaxy S. The only things cool about this phone are the chipset and RAM. Do you battery fools know anything about phones?

I want this phone for one major reason. The battery capacity. Up until now, no other manufacturer of an Android phone has offered anything above 1500mAh and that is just not enough. With the power and features of these phones I love to use it to read news, collect email (push from Exchange) and business expenses etc etc. I have a Desire HD right now. What a great phone but the battery capacity sucks. With the Atrix I will have similar or better spec but with a much better battery life. I could easily live with the likes of my Desire HD being 2 times the thickness just to get at least 3 times the battery capacity. If someone invents a replacement battery that somehow plugs into the rear (not easy being unibody) I will be first to buy it.

The finger print spot is pretty tight .. That's where you also turn the phone off and on.. It's on topp middle of the phone in the back... I'll play with it tomorrow and see if is worth it.. :p

I will not touch any Samsung phone because they refuse to put the most basic & essential LED Notification light. There screens are the best but that is it, every samsung I have had the GPS takes forever compared to other manufactures to connect. A 4" screen is the maximum for me any bigger is just like having a small tablet, so any bigger then no thanks, so Sansung no thank you, I love Motorola & HTC, but HTC's new phone this year have no real improvement for me to upgrade from my Desire so Hello Moto Atrix.

What a shame. The Antrix has so much potential to live up but fails hard on execution. Computer and media dock are great concept but also way overpriced. In US, if you get a computer dock you need to pay for tethering plan which is also very expensive. Even worst, once docked the performance of the Antrix on the computer dock is very poor; everything seems laggy, Firefox is slow (which is strange, why did it come with Firefox instead of google Chrome?)and the touchpad is only recognize a single tap only (yes, no pinch zoom or scroll-down like you normally find in general touchpad). Media dock is cool but you have to buy an extra bluetooth remote and, honestly, isn't it easier to just connect your phone and a monitor with HDMI to do exactly the same task? Why pay extra for an expensive dock? The phone itself is very good, but the accessories suck, which is sad since Motorola seems to emphasis on those peripherals as a selling point.

This phone is awesome... best in the league I really love moto phones, because I am such a klutz I almost always drop my phone but moto is still working after numerous drops... thanks to its superior built. My mom uses samsung and after 6 months of using the phone is useless, same goes with my brothers' SE and my sisters nokia. All my moto phones are still functioning. That is why no matter how mobilemaster advertises his samsung phone, it will not last a year unless to totally take good care of it... which is unlikely. :D

I spoke to Expansys and they say that they don't have a date for the release of the Atrix or pricing yet. It isn't on their website or in their system. However if the date is the 25th of July for the UK, and it wouldn't surprise me if it was, then it's way too late for me. Motorola seem to release their devices much, much later outside the USA.

Motorola Atrix Coming to UK on July 25 Every time I check over the specs of the Atrix I get convinced that this is a beasty device. The handset runs Android 2.2, is equipped with a dual core Cortex-A9 Nvidia Tegra 2 chipset, has a 16GB onboard memory and 1GB RAM. Moreover the Atrix sports a 2-megapixel front facing camera and 5-megapixel rear one, plus a 4-inch touchscreen of 960×540 pixel resolution. Hands down! I was replying to someone that said that the camera in the Atrix wasn't as good as the camera in the iPhone 4 and so now he wasn't going to buy the Atrix, and as far as smartphones go today, what I said is correct. Sorry but I'm not really interested in whether or not you think that your Nokia feature phone from 2007 takes better pictures than the iPhone 4 and the chances are that most other people looking to buy a smartphone today don't care either. What matters most is what is on the market now and what is coming out over the next few months.

It's going to be hard to find a camera that's as good as the iPhone 4 one. They did the right thing - a relatively large sensor with a lowish megapixel count. The only thing Apple could have done better would have been to have gone with a 3.1 MP camera on the same sensor size - but the public wouldn't have accepted that because they think that more megapixels are always better.

All the top american tech sites have been sent a Atrix & some have posted unboxing videos, full reviews should be out by friday. The laptop dock has mixed reactions but Personnel I dont care about the laptop dock, but the other docks do look interesting. Cant wait for the full reviews of the camera & low light pictures. The reviews say the video is very good & better than most other 720p phones.

Yes virtually all Samsung & LG phones do NOT have a led notification light I am unsure about the new Sony Ericsson Phones that are coming out. I have had a few Samsung phones over the last 3 years, but never again until they put one on.

For me the number 1 feature a touchscreen should have is a LED notification light so I can not buy a Samsung or LG phone, so Motorola or HTC & maybe Sony Ericsson android phones are for me. Its a shame that Samsung & LG do not put such a cheap but essential bit of hardware on there phones.

Actually it will be available in the USA, Canada, and the UK. They have already mentioned this in many articles and news releases. So if you are in Australia, then yes you will have a tough time purchasing. Otherwise people like myself who are already with Bell in Canada will have easy access to the phone, ATT in the US and whoever is carrying it in the UK. Point was not missed as I have been eagerly awaiting the release for quite sometime now.

Sorry but this is Motorola that we're talking about. You know, the guys with the encrypted boot loaders. As far as I know, with Motorola Android phones, while rooting is possible you still cannot install builds of Android with a kernel that Motorola have not produced for your phone (or for a version of your phone). For example installing a version of the Android kernel on a European Motorola phone that is based on a South American release for the same Motorola phone is possible however installing a generic version of the Android kernel is not. In other words while you can get custom ROMS for a Motorola Milestone based on Android 2.1 you cannot get Android 2.2 until Motorola make it available somewhere in the world. This is despite all the efforts of all the different devs in the Android community. This means that once you go Moto you are totally dependent on them bringing out a new version of the software somewhere before you can get a kernel upgrade for your phone. I'm not sure if you can only use GSM Motorola kernel builds for GSM phones or if you can use the CDMA and GSM kernels interchangeably. This is why the issue of Motorola producing updates themselves is such an important one (unless they make good on their recent statement that they will enable the community when it comes to ROM chefs) but as Engadget said we know now that their word is a good as dirt.

It is the totalitarian dictator of mobile devices, and that is before you plug it into its associate devices! It has no peer and no competitor, it stands alone as the greatest mobile device of this year 2011. It will have no competitor in the same league! The Atrix is the melding of just about every wish list on this globe Planet Earth. But just try to buy one while it is new and exciting outside USA. In Australia I don't think I will wait till 2013 so I guess it will be another junky HTC with the sound quality and loudness of a mouse fart! Only Motorola and Some Sony Ericsson phones actually have audio quality and reception. If you don't care about audio then why buy a phone at all, buy a notebook instead as it will do more. if you think your audio is good, find a Motorola and compare, you will be shocked. However that is if you can find a current Motorola Of course. True, but their track record on Android upgrades is really poor: Unfortunately they also have a tendency to go back on their word. I've seen this first with the Milestone XT720 and now with the CLIQ XT. I think that they have enough issues upgrading their MotoBlur software to new versions and now with the Atrix they will also have to intergrate with the Linux installation that runs when docked. I'm no longer hopeful for much support with regard to Android upgrades when it comes to this device.

I think that this MWC will be very interesting. The Samsung Galaxy S2, the Nokia N9, and some stunning HTC devices will be announced on MWC. The Phone of the year easy it has no immediate rival. Motorola Atrix will neve be world's no1 set... because they are very slow in releasing new set and they focus only USA and Europe.. plus .. We've got no doubt that Verizon and Motorola are working on bringing Gingerbread to the Droid X. We said as much in our predictions of which phones will get Android 2.3 upgrades. We all know Arc look nice and thin but android 2.3 it is not special because as soon as Atrix is release, it will get android 2.3 but come to the rest in most aspect Moto Atrix is the best and now can record at 1080p full hd. On the other hand, Jha also hinted that the 3G Xoom release might be move to March from the initial end ofFebruary launch. There are 4 specs that make this phone great: 1. fingerprint reader (new feature, not found on other phones) 2. cpu (nvidia dualcore) 3. resolution ( higher than most) 4. battery (great given that 1Ghz CPUs suck allot of juice)

The Atrix has a 4" qHD LCD display (960*540 vs 800*480 on other phones). The 2x has a 4" regular display. Not sure the quality of either one though. The Atrix has a nearly 33% higher capacity battery as well. The Atrix comes with 16GB of storage and the LG has 8Gb. They both have HDMI out, but the LG has mirroring (not sure about the atrix here). The Atrix has some amazing docks and double the ram. The LG has higher resolution cameras (both front and back) and can record 1080p, but that doesn't mean it's higher quality. Finally, the Atrix has HSPA+, which if it exists in your area, is a good speed boost. For me, the Motorola phone is proably where I'll go

by god this is wonderful phone , me nokia die hard fan .. but tell you true , this is best phone ... great job Motorola ... but where are few years !!!!!!! Motorola please release it soon ... because Samsung also will announced Samsung galaxy s2 and release it so soon ... i will wait for Nokia at MWC if nokia not announced any super smart phone there i will also join android ...

NO OS is build for dual core processor. what are you talking ? All matter is dual core processors will any OS faster, the faster the execution is the faster it is!! Dual Core DO MORE. More RAM more multi tasking,
