Motorola RIZR Z10 - User Reviews

  • its available in ebay now . inr 4599.

  • Motorola RIZR Z10 have stock? price?

  • mobile9.com

  • Does anyone know where to find free paid games and apps for Motorola Z10???

  • Dear Anon., Thanks for your reply. I may have found the solution or at least a part solution. The seller of the Z10 was able to flash the phone so picture imaging would work (send and receive). A software issue was the problem and was solved by replacing it with more appropriate software. This was the main concern. The T-Mobile settings were made and the phone is more functional now though Video Call won't work here. It seems if you buy an unlocked phone you can run into carrier problems! Mark

  • Well, Z10 only supports HSDPA on 2100 Mhz. I don´t know what T-Mobile´s 3G frequency is. If it is, for example, 1700 Mhz, your phone won´t work on T-Mobile 3G network. You will have only GPRS or EGDE if available. I have a Z10 here in Southmerica. In my only are just two frequencies for 3G: 850 and 900 MHz. I accepted I will never have 3G in this Moto here. (Maybe there is a flash to make other 3G bands availables for this phone, I don´t know. Anyway, getting things for this model is not easy, it was not a so popular model)

  • Recently purchased Motorola Z10 here in US and have T-Mobile as carrier. It works but I can't use all the features such as sending a picture or receiving a picture. Video call doesn't work either. It's rumored some features just won't work in the US and the phone won't accept 3G. I've tried getting help from T-Mobile and Motorola tech support to put in the correct settings but nothing has worked. It was suggested it needs to be "reflashed" as there is probably a software incapatability. I LOVE this phone. Can anyone PLEASE offer a solution and tell me what I need to do??? Mark

  • this phone sucks because the image that i have on my phone it`s lost, the contacts of my sim card i can find i feel so decepointed.

  • it is a plastic part on the back side of the phone, next to camera lins.. puch it away from the camera. :0)

  • just rec this phone and don't have the manual how do you install the sims card where is it located thanks

  • This phone is total s*** texting is impossible the predictive text is s*** keys too small unless you have hands the size of a child forget it . The upper key pad is s*** also, one moment its sensitive the next you could use a filing cabinet dropped from 100 feet and it wont register .

  • i need moto z 10 pc suite[browser] if any one have it plzzzzzzzzzz send it or inform to [email protected]

  • Applications>Connectivity>Bluetooth>on

  • Has anyone figured out how to activate the bluetooth feature? If so, can you please elaborate? Any information is appreciated. Thanks!

  • show the mobile phone price. very nice.

  • the only thing bad about this phone is that there is no wifi conection.....

  • good phone i like it

  • nice phone but small screen

  • How can i switch of the 3g????????? Does anyone know? thanks

  • Hi just wondering if anyone else has random issues with this phone not letting the caller hear the user. I have to reboot the phone several times before I can either make calls that others can hear my voice or vice versa....poor keypad too, to small for my fingers...what a pity yet again from Moto...

  • Does it have voice commands like in the KRZR K3 model?

  • Nokia phones I have used: N70, N73, N78, N80, N81, N95 Sony phones I have used: Z500i, w800i, W810i Samsung: T809, LG CU500, Viewty KU990 Motorola RAZR V3, L7, V3X and Z10 Nokia has great symbian and interface. Also has great battery life. Later Nokias may have high MP camera but the more features the slower it gets. Secondary camera becomes useless if they are not VGA videocall resolution especially that U.S.A. does not have 3G videocalling. Sony phones had the best camera and great design at first. But later there are too many choices and all looked like random improvements. Samsung, cheap and fair. So is LG.They're both simple The LG KU990 had great 5 MP camera but not very good focus and flash is very uselss. Most motorola cameras aren't very sharp. But for the Z10 had quick camera access and has better primary camera than that of N80. However, it is pricey. I was able to get mine for $65 used off eBay but I think no one will ever sell this phone that price again. The keypad is very hard to press though. Sometimes when you try to press the camera shutter you might as well press the volume button. But again, great camera, great flash. I hope it had the regular motorola interface though.

  • I was wondering if anyone knows how to change the autolock to manual? Thank you.

  • mine does the same

  • People! I was wondering is anyone got membership on ebay bicouse I want to buy this Motorola and is there anyone who sell it (but with original box, good condition and full equipment)?

  • i am using the phone.phone is very nice, buttttttttt battery life is too worst.only 20 minutes will come d batery

  • Can anyone tell me about the batery? How many days in standby using the gsm mode?

  • Can you elaborate the exact steps? I think many here do want to know.

  • please update your phone to swisscom firmware to solv your problems ... its a stable firmware ...

  • so what's your advice on how to solve the auto restart / reboot problem?

  • This phone is great, small keypad is a factor for people with large hands, after a while you understand how the software works where to scroll etc, talking and hearing are great with or without speaker

  • instal free softwer them walpaper .... for motorola :

  • i found the z10 to be one of the worse phone i have tried to use the main reason i dont have use it now is it went to to be repaired 4 times in a row with the same problem it was too quiet and it kept shutting down on me it had new software added 3 times it gave me a blue screen in the end so i got shot of it

  • No doubt about the reception, no doubt about the voice quality. Though I've decided to sell my Z8 (also Symbian based) because my Z8 would shutdown automatically from time to time.... I have installed no program / application into my Z8. Yet its performance is absolutely unstable to the point I'd rather sell it.

  • Though it is a bit old model. But very good looking and I told my friend to get one for me from abroad. Motorola phones are best in terms of reception. So I will go for it.

  • STAY AWAY FROM THIS PHONE!!! better yet stay away from motos using UIQ!! this phone is worst then SE P990i, wich has the same amount of RAM. U have been warned!! I'm now stuck with this ass crap low RAM phone, RAM eater UIQ OS

  • A lie? I think the most negative comments I have read have been authentic because I owned the phone and can attest to them. Please read or watch every review on this phone, they are all dismal. This is the most downright complicated phone on Earth. The way the software functions with the controls is mind-boggling. I have reviewed many phones here myself, as I tend to go through many phones in a short period of time. I have a special place in my heart for high-end Motorola handsets. This is a high-end phone with the looks of a fine German automobile but with the performance of a schizophrenic.

  • Iam an addicted motorola user.iam in luv with d moto z10,bt unfortunately,i cant get it here in nigeria, iave being waiting 4 months nw.plz moto make my dream of buying d z10 a reality,by sending some of ur products dwn here.thankx

  • Since you seem to be the expert on Z10, being an owner of Z8 for over 12 months now, guess you can help me with the following: 1)How to set a wallpaper without the top / bottom being chopped off? 2)How to rearrange the order of the icons? 3)How to create a music playlist with files from memory card? 4)How come my phone may automatically restart / turn off without any application / playlist running? FYI, I ain't lying as I could easily make all the settings above for most other Moto phones, including "smart" ones like E6. I'm happier with VE66 which I bought about 2 weeks ago than my Z8, which is still in my draw as I still like the design. As mentioned earlier, if someone can convert my Z8 out of Symbian into any O/S, I would mind to pay US$200 for it.

  • i have this phone for 1 month ... i love my phone... battery life , camera, video play back , LCD, are very nice... i think most of negative comments in this site is lie !!

  • My last 3 phones (including my current N78) has been nokia, but I've always liked Moto, I've had V600, V635 and the great Z6, but Moto has got to get with the times, I mean one of their latest phones, the VE66 looked like it could bring Moto back to the top, but instead it has a small screen, no 3.5G, 16millon colors wud've been great, no GPS, no xenon flash, no office viewer... come on Motorola!! your supporters are still out there, we just need a showstopper... give us a phone with all of the above functions, it don't even need more then 5mp camera cause Moto's camera's r strong even from 2mp (z6) upwards, then we'll get back on the Moto support wagon in a blink! I thought about buying z10 or VE66, but for the price I can get a lot more phone from Nokia or even Samsung.

  • Very poor implementation of Symbian. List of menus and submenus are illogical. An example of which is when you try to delete a text message, you have to scroll your way down just to find the DELETE option. The arrangement is so illogical! the first in the lists are VIEW,NEW and download all. we're not that stupid that we need to go to options just to view the message. that's why we have the OK button in the middle right? Also, would you prefer the NEW and download ALL option first before the "reply" and "delete" option? sheesh! Try exploring your phone and check the logic of the list.

  • superb mobile why? with out rds fm

  • Hi.. Please Make The Software Pershian Sapurt Tanks

  • The design is still a beauty on its own, and I wouldn't mind to pay US$200 if anyone can install any other software on my Z8, including the primitive P2K. I'd take any other O/S over the stupid Symbian on my Z8, and even if I only dial in and out only, the phone may still retarts itself...

  • This phone had the loveliest design when it was released, but the phone is overshadowed by the worse implementation of Symbian software I have ever seen. Using this phone will take years off your life. The learning curve on this phone is unimaginable. I implore anyone considering buying this phone to stay away. Yes it is a well made, solid-feeling phone. But it is useless as a phone.

  • This is the worst piece Ive ever used. Its restarting within 4 minutes. It seems to b very pretty, but its very poor by performance, at the same time its not user friendly. There are good features, but they r hard to use I strictly recommend people not to buy this. Problems I faced: Its restarting within 4 minutes Poor battery Simbian is not working properly.. Hard to use People who say Motorola is good, could be a non Nokia, Samsungor SonyEricsson user

  • People who say Motorola is good, could be a non Nokia, Samsung or SonyEricsson user

  • What i mean is that the Manufacturer who implements the OS into the phone needs to pay attention to detail, NONE of the problems are your fault, what im saying is that MOTO did something wrong when tweaking the OS, the phone always rebooting is a clear indication of that, im pretty sure its down to poor memory management, they also havent optimized the software properly to run with the hardware, its basicaly a bunch of things that MOTO didnt properly and so have crippled the device. Programming for Symbian is difficult but a big company like MOTO with its great mobile history has no excuse for letting out a half baked product.

  • According to your quote: "Also like i said Symbian requires great attention to detail when implementing it, a lot more than other OSs, if one process goes wrong it reboots the OS, AND this is why Symbian can run on more hardware since its also very economical compared to WM" Just call me naive in terms of smartphone operation. Can you elaborate what you meant by "Symbian requires great attention to details when implementing it", does that mean I as the user needs to read a Symbian manual carefully before I implement any task on my phone? As mentioned, I only use my Z8 for outgoing / incoming call purposes now. No playlist, no music playback, no additional software application apart from those installed straight from the factory. So exactly how should I suppose to "give great attention to details" when operating this phone? Or else, if you meant the "system" is being so careful that it constant checks on what's going on, and with the slightest thing that may go wrong, the system would reboot itself? If so, what exactly have I done wrong when I put my phone on standby mode and just make some outgoing calls and receive incoming calls? (don't even bother with SMS as the input method is way different from all of my other Moto phones) Again, the problems I mentioned above only applicable to my Symbian based Z8. Not on any of my previous Moto phones not running on Symbian. Your help is appreciated.

  • Every issue you have posted is down to MOTO's tempering with the OS. On my Symbian S60 N81 im able to do all of that, plus edit Id3 tags right there in my music player and loads of other things. The boot up is down to the hardware and optimization, my N81 can boot up in around 15secs, and then again its a heavier OS than P2k and Linux. UIQ has always had little parts of it that are crippled, this is why S60 is so much better, its not crippled and is a great example of showing how great and versatile Symbian is. MOTO should have used S60. Also like i said Symbian requires great attention to detail when implementing it, a lot more than other OSs, if one process goes wrong it reboots the OS, AND this is why Symbian can run on more hardware since its also very economical compared to WM.

  • This problem is not from motorola! this problem exactly come from porting UIQ to Non-Touch-Screen Devices! Z8 and z10 are first, and surely will be sacrificed for improve of other! this fone do not know what to do when you installing an application for UIQ 3.0! you have no touch pen to working with menus, application are best working on Sony Ericssons are only spacers on this fone! if this fone had S60 Symbian, there was no problem with it.

  • If the Symbian OS isn't to be blamed, how come the restart and dozens of other issues never happened to any of my other Moto phones, from "P2K" based Z3 to Linux based E6, or even Windows Mobile Q9h and A3100? Why is it so difficult to create / edit a playlist on my Z8 vs. most of my other Moto phones? Why I can't even customize the shortcuts / rearrange the order of the icons on my Z8? Why I can power-up my Linux based E6 in less than 8 seconds when my Symbian based Z8 takes near 20?

  • Ive said it before and il say it again, DO NOT blame the Symbian OS, blame MOTO and their horrible handling of it. My NOKIA N81 runs the wonderful Symbian S60 OS and it hardly EVER restarts, its highly reliable, simple to use and a powerful OS, this OS requires loads of attention to detail thats why it can run well on most hardware, unfortunetly MOTO never took care of it and they mess it up in both z8 and z10.

  • been using Z10 for 6 months on O2 never had any problems there so many negative things posted bout this phone so im gonna post positive things bout Z10. The kick slide make it so much comfy to use then a standard slide phone, sound quality when making phone calls are clear and loud, sound quality when playing music very good not the tinny sound u get from most mobiles battery last me bout 3 days I do a lot of texting and fone calls, camera brill for mobile fone again u want good quality pic use a proper digital camera. Picks up singnal better then most phones I notice I’ve used sony eric, sagem, nokia. Screen quality is amazing u can tell its 16M colour screen helps that 2.2 inch screen so it very clear playing back videos or looking at photos. Z10 can play bck Videos at 30fps when most only play bck at 15fps which is jerky I put music vids on mine at 30fps sound 128kbps video quality at 312kbps play it brill without any hitch when most phone wld crash with that settings. there is something called “kill filter” basically u got call centre foneing u all the time just add their number in the “kill filter” u wont get a phone call from them even they id held it or u got annoying person u don’t to hear from add their number it will block all phone calls and txt. So if ur considering having this phone go for it u wont be disappointed.

  • i just bought by online this phone motorola z10 in EBAY, the phone model was good design but the problem is the batterey not good, use 1-2 day must be charge and also the OS a little bit slow. So probably in ASIA for ex: INDONESIA this phone not release yet coz they said product failure. i dunno whether in USA this phone was top of a line or not. my suggestion if u wanna looking good design and different with the others phone, just bought this phone, coz the phone was trully different model.

  • Just curious before you get your Z10, did you ever read any comments (here) or review (elsewhere) on Z10? If so, what made you to decide on getting this phone after most of the comments being negative? I know 2 ways to fix this Z10 or Z8 (as I've the latter): 1)Have Moto to simply dump the Symbian OS and simply install anything else...including the rather primitive (but absolutely and infinitely more reliable) P2K (the OS being used on most Moto's non-smartphones), over the stupid Symbian OS on this phone. 2)Sell your Z10!

  • When i bought this phone i thought it was great. But as soon as id had it a few hours i realised it wasnt so. it was painfully slow it has so many errors in the software it restarts itself more than just occasionally even the predictive text input method is a pain to use. Motorola should really hurry up and get a software update out quicker to fix this phones problems

  • It's all about design...and that's it. Everything else was forgotten. The battery life is so poor that in three days I had to "refuel" 5 times ( 10 to 15 hours of standby ). The software is unbelievabely slow, and definitely non user friendly at all. Got mine last Wednesday (15/04/2009), going to return it and get a Nokia N78 for a few more uros. HelloMoto ?!?!? Sorry...for me it's "ByeBye Moto" That explains why Motorola is loosing market...There is no evolution...

  • monstrous multimedia : z10

  • very good phone. takes a while to get used to it though.

  • very sexy phone

  • @Sunny sunny i will recommend this phone to you, it's a great phone, but in installing uiq's own touching interface programs you will have problems, because as you know uiq is touch interface os and surely some errors with those on non-touch uiq 3.2 os will occured.

  • great phone

  • hi can any one tell me about Motorola rizr z10 im going to buy it ... please if any one have this cell please tell me about its menu slow or fast and camera result please all of u ..please compare to NOKIA XPRESS 5800..

The smart auto-focus keeps pictures sharp while intelligent auto-save automatically names and saves images directly to the on-board media gallery or favorite media-sharing Web sites. • Brilliant phone by moto.great features.brilliant picture quality and battery life.its a must pple.thumbs up.?

  • Are on some wonderful drug? What in God's name are you talking about? This is a forum discussing the phone, some of us actually have owned the phone and cave a consistent review of the phone. What does my or anyone else gripes have to do with what you suggested in your inane ramblings? Least you do not have split personalities like Tyrone/Taylorj. Motorola made some great phones in the past: Startac, v878, v690, v3682, v600, v620, v635 (my favorite phone ever), but this phone just stinks. It is extremely difficult to use and I think that no one on Earth should use it. Too bad because the design is brilliant. I hope Motorola comes back to this design at some point.

  • What a brilliant phone.i got 2 for 58pound each frm o2 shop? beats my n95 any day?picture quality is brillant.sound n everything? just think the carphone warehouse wanted 250 pound sim free for this last febuary? i wont need any more phones in my life.dnt hesitate ppl.this phone is a must.thumbs up moto for a great phone!

  • who ya talkin to ya think your soo much better you can make the best phone in the world ...na i daint think say.so what it doesnt hav a radio and it some times freezes ALL symbian phones do .so everyone who puts the phone down.get a grip ya bampsak

  • What huge potential but what a total failure. 74 pounds at o2 but still not worth investment. why? os uiq 3 means that few games work, not found one java game even generic that recognises soft buttons. the keypad curved sucks. t9 works better than motorola predictive. screen too small to watch supplied movie. this is typical of american products from some us companies today poorly developed with all components bought together from different design teams that put together do not work. could take half an hour to figure out basic function like changing screen saver. total junk not one aspect to save it from rubbish of the year award.

  • After a good few days use of this phone, i'm really not sure what to make of this phone. It has a great design, the camera and video camera are excellent and easy to use, mp3 playback is good, good call quality and easy to text with. However, this phone does often give me a headache. Over the years ive had many phones, and ive never had a problem with using the menus etc, however on this one i think the menus are too long winded and unnecessarily complicated. Its just nowhere near as user friendly as most other mobile phones. I have found the phones software to be a bit shakey, im having keypad locking issues and i did have a problem with the phone going into screensaver itself every 10 seconds whilst actually using the phone for example looking for a music track. And when it did this, it wouldnt come out of screensaver unless you put the slide down then up again. USB Transfer is so slow, has taken me well over an hour to transfer about 200 songs onto the memory card much longer than ive experienced previously. Also internet browsing on the internet on this phone is dreadful, this is extremely non-user friendly. Bearing all this in mind however, this phone only cost me 73 brand new from o2. And it is worth every penny of that. I was amazed at how cheap this phone was as ive seen the older version the Z8 still on sale at 190. And you are getting an extremely good camera phone for that. So overall very average phone but its pricetag made it worth putting up with it.

  • I was wondering wether anyone has the same issue with locking the z10's keypad. There are 2 ways to lock the phones keypad. The first is to lock it while the phones open by holding down the # button then confirming that you want to lock the keypad. The second is when the phone is closed, you press the on/off button and then select lock keypad. Does anyone elses phone have a problem when trying to lock the keypad using the second method above, as every time i try to do it, it says that the keypad is unlocked rather than locked despite it already being unmlocked anyway? If so, any solutions as to how to fix it? Thanks

  • "Easier than it looks"? Are you kidding me? We are all fools then and you are the one savant that can successfully use this phone. I guess all those techies and engineers who reviewed and used the phone were also fools because they seem to loathe the software as much as any of "us". You have been using Motorola phones since you were a kid? Really, cause I was using Motorola phones for the last 15 years and all but 4 other Motorola phones ever made share similar software and only the Z8 has similar implementation of the software. So this phone goes against every grain of Motorolaesque software and features since the onset of the hand phone devision. This phone is nothing like a "Motorola" phone other than the robustness of the materials and build quality. That is wherein lies the problem. Motorola tried too hard to do something dramatically different that they created a device that could not successfully implement the stable Symbian architecture. It is no that Symbian is so bad, but they way it is implemented in this phone is horrid. Nothing on this phone is easy and requires the precision of a surgeon. It is a wonderful design, and with a larger screen and a different OS it could be a killer. But this phone is truly a dud.

  • Well, I bought this phone a month ago on ebay it was shiper than I thought it was going to be. I been fan of motorola since i was a kid. So far I can tell that this phone make my life easier. Its for fools not knowing motorola software, if you know what Mororola its made from you will love this cellphone. Its easier than it looks. Just love it and I dont regret buying this fantastic cell phone!!!

  • the phone is very very beautiful and good built quality and now with the price of 83.40 on pay&go o2 it is very very cheap but the OS of this phone is soooooo bad so dificult to use and now i am trying hard to get used to it but seem will take longer than i thought if u can live with the os then get it the phone itself is very good u get free Bourne movies trilogy with the phone which i think is very good

  • I don't have Z10, though I can't figure out how to perform simple tasks (like creating a playlist) on my Z8. Believe Z10 and Z8 run on the same O/S, so can you help? I can't understand why simple tasks are being "complicatized" in Z8/Z10...or is that what "smartphones" are really are? Trying to outsmart the users?

  • all the people who say this phone is bad.im sure all of you are soo great you could come up with a great new phone... i dont think so .also there is not a phone that is perfect

  • This phone is exceptionally beautiful and very unique, but other than that it sucks. The learning curve on this phone is too long, and even once you achieve it you are constantly fighting the phone at every step. Doing something as simple as changing the wallpaper is prolonged agony and requires a series of commands and steps and affirmation that require precision of the highest degree. The software seems unfinished and unrefined, actually it is overtly complex. I will put it to you all simply: A good smart phone supposed to enrich your life, it supposed to make your life easier and more convenient. This phone is the complete opposite. There is nothing easy about this phone other than using the camera. Actually utilizing this phone as a tool is a dramatic and drastic negative experience that overshadows the wonderful design. I wish they made this phone with a Linux OS.

  • had this phone about a week i agree os is a bit slow but everything else i like there is no such thing as the perfect fone i like it

  • Cnt wait to get this fne nd if its what u say it is so be it not botherd have u lot ever kissed a girl lmao

  • Maybe u all brain dead or lazy nd wnt ur little bums wipeing lol i mean ive read alot of opinions on various fnes nd ive had em N95 N95 8GB etc nd u put them dwn i had no probs what so with them whatso so lmao at u lot think the ones who put fnes dwn wnt the damm thing to create miracles summit lamo

  • This phone is insanely difficult to use. There are really no words to describe it. It was a terrible mistake to buy this phone. Especially coming from a Motorola V8. The phone design is very nice, even though the screen is on the small side. But the details in the phone are exceptional. It feels like a solid phone and it is unlike any other in looks. But in terms of software, it is a poor example of technology at it's worst and most confusing. Well, at this point I will say yesterday's technology. This phone was already way outdated when it was released. Don't be fooled by the appearance and the uniqueness, it will drive you crazy. And I am quite versed in learning new technology and making the best of it's shortcomings. This phone is beyond reproach. STAY AWAY!!!

  • + oh, and its on Ebay

  • for 240eur? mine should be delivered next week, bought from a professional seller from UK, just for 180eur (including 5gb memory card)

  • Motorola dropped the ball on this one. This could have been a great phone. The kick-slide phone factor was nice, as well as its metallic housing. It failed in a number of ways. First and foremost is the operating system. What were they thinking??!! The OS in this phone is the worst ever, so complicated and counter-intuitive. They should have used the OS in the RAZR2 V9 (I actually can't believe that I gave away my V9 and bought this damn phone!). The OS in the V9 was so easy to use. Secondly, they should have ditched the "film-studio-on-the-fly" idea. It just doesn't work since the phone keeps on crashing! Also, the 3.2MP camera is so behind - I mean, Samsung had 5MP capability in their phones when this was announced! Samsung has 8MP now, by the way. I was so wanting to like this phone, but I have to say I am very disappointed. A thumbs-down for this one.

  • put the bourne sd card in my phone but dnt know how to play it help!!!!!

  • Sorry, not for Z10, due to: 1)Z10 was never made available where I live! 2)I already had much headache with my Z8 to the point even if Z10 would be available, I would not consider it. Symbian UIQ (on Moto phones particularly) = Bad Worse Worst!

  • can u use skype on this phone??? does it support skype?

  • Still, its a good thing that Motorola finally got its act together and managed to at least officially announce this MOT Z10. I was actually able to play with it some, during Smartphone Show in London, and Im pretty impressed. Motorola Z10 is a solidly built handset, that feels well in your hand, is easy to carry around and operate. The camera features is the highlight of MOTO Z10, and they work really well. Pressing the dedicated key, camera loads pretty fast, the shutter speed is good as well. And I really liked the video editor that comes bundled with Motorola Z10. The editor works great for editing short movies taken with the handset. Its very easy to use and I was able to create short film with opening credits, text annotations, some special effects and erasing some unwanted frames within 10 minutes that I had chance to use it. MOTO Z10 phone that I used, wasnt connected to the network, so I was not able to test its video uploading capabilities, but from what I saw they should work pretty easy and well too. Overall Motorola Z10 leaves the impression of a really well built, solid device with great camera features. Theres one problem though. MOTO Z10 would have been a great flagship for Motorola half a year ago. But today, a camera centric phone, with only 3.2 megapixel camera is nothing to write home about. The camera features, multimedia editing and video uploading work equally well on LG Viewty KU990, Nokia N95 8GB and Nokia N82, Samsung G800, or Sony Ericsson K850i. And these handsets already come with 5 megapixel cameras and have a better overall feature collection. So unless the price points for Motorola Z10 are attractive enough, I dont see many users choosing it over the competition. Full MOTO Z10 specs include: Dual mode UMTS 2100, HSDPA 3.6Mbps Quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE Class 12 Connectivity 3.2 megapixel camera, Superfast burst mode delivers 3 shots per second 30 fps video capture 2.2? QVGA, 16m color TFT display with 30 fps video playback Storyboard editing allows for combination of multiple videos, addition of soundtrack, commentary and visual effects Supported file formats: AMR, AAC AAC+, MP3, WMA, 3GPP, H.263, H.264, Mpeg 4 Bluetooth, USB 2.0 microSDHC memory card support (up to 8GB now, up to 32GB when the cards are available) Battery: Li-Ion 1030mAH, 5 hrs talk, 5 hrs video playback, 12 hrs music playback time Dimensions: 10915.5 / 16.5mm Weight: 115g

  • Ive always been a fan of Motorola phones. Had loads of them over the years such as the V3, V3i, V3x, V70, Wings, Star tac, V80, and so on and to be honest i think this one is fantastic. Ive always been a fan of their design innovation and the Z10 continues this with the kick slide which allows the handset to bend as its opened which allows the microphone to get closer to your mouth than other sliders therefore improving call quality The camera is great for 3.2 MP, it blows the Nokia 6500 Slide away and even the 5.0 MP Samsung phones. The video editing software is the best i've come across on a mobile and again the video capture i excellent quality and as with all modern Motorolas they sync directly with Windows Media Player so music transfer is ridiculously easy Would of been a hit had Motorola launched it on more networks rather than just O2 but on the whole i would recommend it

  • for all s10 user theme . game . softwere ... link :

  • does the caller id on the work well with the gsm signal in north america?

  • This is the most complicated phone I have ever used. I just sit and scratch my head wondering what Moto was thinking. It is a lovely phone other than the OS however. But I am wondering whether Motorola should be in the cell phone business.

  • Got the z10 today and it looks very nice however its flawed, the symbian O/S is sooo bad it makes the phone almost useless. Everything is so complicated, simple thing like setting the wallpaper requires at least seven yes 7 commands and when you can get your wallpaper set half the time it will not fit the screen... It wont open large picture files say over 1Mb which is just a poor show. Nobody can deny its a lovely looking phone but its just way too much hard work to use every day. Poor phone Poor O/S.. Bad show Moto....

  • nsCe needs to stop posting multiple times under different names. He apparently has severe mental issues. Just disregard anything this user says as he is a mental case. Okay, I have been using this phone for a week after my recently defunct V8 broke. The phone is built exceedingly well, and feels great in the hand. Good voice quality though not as good as the V8 and good reception, but again not as good as v8's. The software is on another level of complication, I do not know what Moto was thinking. Changing settings requires you to press so many buttons then go back to the menu and select save twice? It is a very strange series of commands needed to affirm something or to go through a change in menu. I find the entire phone to be poorly implemented and the menu can be a total disaster. But I will say that it is far better than the Z8, especially the keypad. The screen is pretty good and so is the camera, it is also very fast and easy to use, unlike the rest of the phone. The phone itself is gorgeous beyond belief, it looks amazing in person and feels great using it. I will update further as I learn more about the phone.

  • hi all can anyone help me please, can u get the pic of someone calling u 2 be bigger on the screen when i get a call? and also can u get ure wallpaper pics 2 fit screen tnanx,,,,,

  • 100moto can answer your question guys

  • sophistication

  • hi z10 users can any of u tell me about the sound quality of the loud speakers. Is it suitable to play music louder, since Iam planning to buy this mobile in a week or so...

  • best of best

  • what is the price of this phone Motorola RIZR Z10

  • I've had this phone for about 5 months and here is what I've seen happen.... Phone randomly turns off and restarts. I may be in the middle of a call and boom it restarts or turns off and ends my call for me. Speaker could be a lot better for the price. I had a Samsung Sync SGH-A707 and a SGH-A727 and the speaker was much louder than this thing. Applications seem to crash for no reason which I have to restart the phone in order to get it running again. Phone seems to "run out of memory" really fast and has no "task manager" included to help manage applications that are taking up memory. When receiving MMS messages that are supposed to have a picture or song playing it doesn't show or play anything which means you have to save the media to your phone and open it manually in order to see its contents. Browser doesn't want to load. I've tried it in many different occasions and with many sim cards (from friends)all to the same avail. 3rd party applications which work fine in many other UIQ 3 Symbian Phones, crash and don't do much on this phone. Tried multiple apps and they all ended up crashing and unable to save any data. Now on to the good things... It has two cameras, 1 infront and 1 in the back. Flash is very bright and photos come out good at night. Calls sound clear and crisp. Charger is universal so you can use any Moto Charger. Looks good and everyone likes it. All-in-all this phone is not a good "smartphone" because its only good to make calls, text, listen to music and take pictures. Which was not worth paying the $350+ for such little functionally. I'm dissapointed with Motorola for making such a nice looking phone have a crappy system. I'd get a new phone if i could but I have no money and no one has wanted to buy this phone from me yet so i'm stuck with it for the meantime.

  • i reaky hope to buy one of this moto z10 i have z8 for 7mounth its very good phone and Actually z10 is very beter

  • I bought this phone back in August from Carphone Warehouse. Its a nice phone, but...... the screen on mine would got black while you were typing a txt and if you press any keys nothing would happen... But then the screen would automatically come back on and as you have press the centre buton it would send the txt I had started to write. Took it back and the rep at carphone warehouse couldn't fix the problem without resetting the entire phone. Go sent a new phone and it had the same problem. Rang Motorola who had know idea of the problem. I do like the phone and I am tempted to by it in the O2 sale for 75.00 + 10.00 credit. But can anyone tell me if the Pay As You Go phone from O2 is locked? Thanks Ric

  • Ha Ha Ha,I Would Kill My Self If Moto Becomes The Best 4n In The World.

  • this phone is great i realy want it realy good design voooooooooooooooooooooow

  • i have z8 for 7mounth and its realy good phone very good design in z8 and z10 moto we are vaiting for z12 whit best features in around phone (8or10mp cam - wifi -3g - gps -loud sound -.... ) motorola is best in world

  • I really hope Motorola comes with a new update on this phone. I really love the design and I think this is one of Motorola's signature phones. Please Motorola, Make this phone again with even better features. I assure you people will be more than happy to see this phone again with even better features. I believe ^_^

  • i want buy this phone its realy well

  • excellent

  • i buy z10 for 2mounth .its realy very good phone very nice and fantastic design . good camera . loud volume speaker .thanks moto

  • Does anybody know if this phone has voice dialing

  • Just sell your Z10 and get a Canon G10, that will solve the problem! I'm writing this with my extremely disappointed experience on my Z8...the phone can't do anything better than my good old Z3. I recommend users of Z8/Z10 only use the phone to make / receive calls. Any attempt on anything else would cause nothing but nightmare.

  • How does one solve problem of picture capture failed?

  • kick mechanism is fantastic

  • utter rubbish!!! why dont motorola get out of the business they just dont make sense there phones are lame in features,it dont even work properly they also have the worst battery,if i were to buy a motorola phone,i might as well buy one of those no name crap!!!! chines phone. motorola please get out now, stop wasting time!!!!!!!

  • I replaced my Z8 with a Z10 and was pleased to find that it was slightly more reliable... no freezing when trying to use some of the applications. However the battery life is a bit random. The battery life is rated as being better than the Z8 which uses the exact same battery, but in reality it not much better. I had the Z10 on charge all day yesterday, yet today it was totally flat. I hadn't used it for anything. I wouldn't recommend the Z8 or the Z10. The Z3 was a great phone though!

  • It is very good.

  • sh1t sound quality and slow as cancer.i sold mine, utter rubbish.froze loads and switched off

  • hi guys i m having nokia n95 and rizr z10 in my opinion z10 is having more loud sound and clear sound than nokia n95 music edition operating system is also too good and screen colours are really better than nokia n95 me

  • does anybody know about z10 sound quality (mp3 player 0 thanks ?

  • Does anybody know how to turn the volume key on ?

  • cool

  • gooooooooood

  • First of all, as a Moto (only, yes!) user for the past 14 years with over 40 Moto only phones, and given my experience with Z8, I do NOT recommend anyone to buy Z10. No matter what other functions Z10 has, its O/S would kill everything else. Anyway, most Moto phones actually are "not" available in US! Including Z10, which I believe, according to others here, is available in Europe/UK. In my opinion, even Zn200 is better than Z10, because user can customize the navigation keys on Zn200..and it will not likely hang as often as Z10.

  • Whatever you do, dont buy this phone its rubbish. I'm on my third and am exchanging for something else. z10 switches itself off, always freezes, doesnt always charge properly. Never had probs with motorolas before but will never get one again!!

  • just matter of taste and specs that suit ur needs no need to blah blah this and blah blah blah that

  • n95 is a big lump in one's pocket. z10 is so slim just like my z8. im gonna wait for this to be released in the Philippines (if the price is right. about P12,000($250) or LESS) but then again, it's IMPOSSIBLE as the z8 costs me more than that. i think i'm just gonna wait for MOTOROLA to get bankrupt.lolz. by then, they'll gonna sell this for about $200. @motorola co. - BE REASONABLE ENOUGH. you havent had enough market share and you still think you could sell this "low-end feature" phone of yours with a hefty price?! geez.. im not hoping for this company to get bankrupt. im hoping they give reasonable prices to their phones. time will tell whether they would do that. im also gonna wait if motorola will be the next "siemens".lolz.

  • just like z8 it is hard to press the lower keys. motorolla needs to add more tech in their phones.

  • N95 beautiful!? Have you seen it in real life! I agree that in terms of specification, the N95 is ahead of the Z10, but when it comes to looks, the Z10 beats the N95!

  • would have been PERGECT for me if it had a WLAN

  • Yes offcourse you cant compare a Beautiful And Fully functional Multimedia Computer (N95) to a useless Shiny Stone (Z10) ,i totaly agree. :) when last did this crap even get a firmware update?

  • When the slide is down there is no lump...it's flexible; just watch the video.

  • they say slide phones usually hang..how true?

  • what were they thinking with its curve design? if i were to stick this in my pocket it would make a big lump

  • @brynn @str thx for info..need BIG memory to watch anime..40mb per episode :)

  • uh love this fone usually go for nokia but this fone is so juicy mmmm just want to eat it ahahahah

  • Yup it handles up to 32 GB memory card, but now exists only up to 8GB cards so ... it would be more clear if gsmarena will write there not 8 but 32 as it is potentially

  • thank you hadi Motorola is the best.........

  • niceeeeeeeeee its best in 3.2mp phone

  • The reason gsmarena puts 8gb card is because thats all they go up to at the moment but 16gb should be out before xmas,,its been long enuf..And 100% since they built z10 it handles 32 gb transflash/misro-sd cards but when they come out..

  • its good but sony ericsson w890 is better

  • but motorola website said can support up 32gb memory card in future..which true?..confuse..

  • According to Motorola, this phone supports up to 32GB microSD cards. Direct quote from Motorola: Future-proofed for up to 32GB microSD card

  • its a great phone ...... everything that a person needs is now in a handy metallic packet....i love this phone...some said that it can't be compared to N95 but actually N95 has no camparison to this kick slider phone...obviously U can't compare a huge STONE to a beautiful PHONE...

  • the phone can only support up to 8gb sd card

  • can this phone support 32gb card ?

  • v25f

  • hopefully i can buy one soooooonnnnn...

  • Not entirely true. Only some phones made by competitors are created to match the N95.

  • 5 times replaced? what could be wrong with it? List the issues

  • This phone looks really cool! I would SOOOO have it! :P

  • simpli the best of the best!!!

  • motorolla is the best in world . i love only moto . z10 - zn5- a1800 - a1600 - v8 -v9 ...

  • Whatever you do do not buy a Z10 I am on my 5th they do not work! Not being allowed to change to a decent phone either.

  • fantastic in all thing

  • is it really that it is up to 32gb?

  • NOKIA disproved that when they launched the N95, and now most manufacturers including Moto are trying to match it.

  • this phone has ti omap 2420 processor.on the ti site,2420 has a 330mhz+220mhz speed and also can display 2 million polygons per second which is extremely fast.i hope they do better in future with os and ram.

  • i m damm sure abt one thing motorola if u will launch ur moto handset like zn5 , a1800, a810, z10, e8 ,upcoming e10,alxender.w388 ,w160,w161,w388,w396,rokr w6,rokr em30,rokrem330 ,a1600 in each and avery country where u have ur business specially india ,china, taiwan ,usa and u.k ....u will get the number 1 or 2 spot in few days ....i m damm sure about this thing so be aggressive go moto go kill every body

  • all that hassle of converting to watch a movie on a phone that cant even handle the pre-loaded ringtones, before a wonderful coloured screensaver displaying purple, blue, green only because the phones gone tits-up. buy a lg viewty, plays divix movies without needing to convert.

  • Without deviation from the norm, progress is not possible. Nokia is the norm, without deviation, there is no progress.End of story.

  • see how much u love it wen ur sending it for repair.... Z8'S & Z10'S only last one week.

  • i love it,i bought it in-contract and happy to pay 210.00 for it

  • Build quality on my N81 is great,no creaks or anything, the slider is very smooth and tight, i get the feeling you've never touched an N81 before. 140g is nothing, ive got a SE K850 as wel which weighs 118g and theres no major diff in the feel. LOL video playback on N81 is QVGA 15FPS? Thats recording ACTUALY! Playback can be done at VGA 30FPS on a N81. The navi wheel is very responsive and works well when used properly so i have no idea of what you are going on about. Just with Wi-Fi, 3.5mm jack, and noticebly larger screen N81 is far better than z10.

  • The N81's build quality is crap. Nokia can not make a high-end phone out of decent materials. The only use plastic for all N-series phones & their customer support sucks big time!! Z10 has scratch resistant display, weighs 20 grams less. Much better design & ergonomics. .2in bigger display isn't even noticeable. N81's navi wheel is inconsistent, & a gimmick. The slider isn't fluid & smooth. The biggest joke is the camera. Nokia should be ashamed of putting a 2mp camera in an N series handset. Video playback is only 15FPS compared to 30FPS on Z10. It also looks very much like a toy. I take it you are a myopic Nokia fanboy, & believe Nokia can do no wrong. Grow up.....

  • N81 build quality is fine. N81 has Wi-Fi so who cares for HSDPA. The N81 has 369mhz CPU, Z10 has 330mhz,so since when is 330 higher than 369? Please explain.the N81 clearly has the faster CPU. The N81 has a larger 2.4" inch screen, dedicated music keys, dedicated gaming keys, dedicated Multimedia key, volume and camera key that light up when needed, 3.5mm built-in headphone jack, dual 3D Stereo loudspeakers, MORE RAM for multitasking, MORE available applications, better Web browser by Webkit, and faster UI. LOL the ONLY thing the Z10 has over N81 is the camera otherwise the N81 is the better multimedia device. End of story.

  • WOW! Motorola really came up with a cool handset. It's gorgeous.I only hope it works as well as it looks :)

  • Actually it is much better than N81. Nokia has the most questionable build quality out of the 5 major companies. Camera is better on Z10, 3g is faster, processor is faster, multimedia functions are better, & is built better. Not to mention that the Z10 is much nicer looking.

  • how do you stop the screen saver coming on when you are in the middle of doing something like changing profiles can make it stay off for sixty seconds but then it cuts in and is very annoying thanx in advance

  • Very pretty phone but if you're a texter this is not the one for you. The bendy keypad makes it far more difficult and complicated than it needs to be

  • y not available in the philippines. i've been waiting for this unit.

  • Yes.Believe me it's perfect.

  • im planning to buy one. is it THaT good? its interesting.

  • any one no how much is it in nz dollars or chinese yen please tell me thanks. and does anybody no if it actually goes up to 32gbs sounds wierd, the 32gb memori card isnt even out yet i think, not that i no of.

  • the flash is supposed to b LED

  • Nope its not better than a N81.

  • one of the best motorola phone

  • nice phone

  • motorola plz launch it india

  • this is the phone i really want in india

  • RPLY: Yes, it has a scratch resistant screen..i know this because i own one...and it also states in the manual...and for the flash question...depends which model u buy..this phone has different models in different country..check around ur region..but i know my phone does..:D

  • can someone who owns the phone tell me if this phone has a zenon flash? half of the reviews on the net say it does the other says its led cheers

  • Lists are generated upon activation which means that for larger records (linked lists) the time to collate and create the information can cause a slight delay. Once initially created following power up the list is cached and should be accessible reasonably quickly without delay unless the handset has relinquished the memory to allow another application(s) the resource to operate more efficiently.

  • Does this phone really have a scratch resistant display/screen? I have been reading reviews and specs about this phone but they all seem to have different information. Thanks in advance.

  • lol even my grandma's 98' erricson looks better ahahaha

  • Just my own speculation, in US how many phones you see available in the stores (I mean the actual demo unit, not dummy or paper) that cost over US$500? My guess is, unless one is really in the business, where the phone can be written off as company expense, most others would "not" like to spend US$500 on a phone...because many (I wouldn't say all) Americans would probably rather spend the same (or more) money on their cars, be that a better stereo, spoiler, and other modifications... Many users of Z10 in other markets probably don't own cars like their American counterparts. All just from my own speculation...

  • Yes, it's better than N73. Better camera with Xenon flash, better vid recording with 30fps, better vid editing suite, better processor, better looks. N73 better with 2.4" screen with 256 kilos colours, while Z10 2.2" screen with 16 millions colours. Honestly Z10 far away better than N73.

  • its better than n81 ....... i like the design of this fone

  • its one of the hot selling in u.k

  • i m lucky to have this phone in u.k

  • this is good fone because it has good camera , good music , good voice clarity and battery back up

  • nice phone

  • Even before the Z10 could shine..it already over-shadowed by the ZN5

  • does anybody have a delay when doing things like accessing the pics, videos, and music? also when checking thecall logs when you push the send button from home screen? am i doing something wrong or are they all like this?

  • multimedia monster highly recommended

  • i have visit ur website and i want to this set also has 3g netwrok so we can use for the cdma its mean for wirless sim ?

  • Yeah...whats the deal GSMArena?? Why aren't you going to review this? It is definitely a handset worthy of a review. I also noticed that the new ZN200 & W231 handsets from Motorola stayed up on the home page for a whole day. WOW!....Had it been a Samsung or SE it woulda been there for days, but I guess the Phillips X800 stole the spotlight...LOL I hope we dont get jipped on a proper review of the ZN5.

  • Sorry guys...but the review on "mobile-review" wasn't inspiring. bummer!

  • When using full resolution video recording does it record in mpeg 4 format ,,cheers...Its sim free at carfone for 279

  • i think this is a luxury handset

  • Symbian does not have stopwatch/timer does z10,,thank you

  • actually, ARM11 CPU is 500Mhz NOT 300!! ARM9 IS 264Mhz and that's a out dated CPU... you can refer to V9/V9 review for ARM11 CPU Speed. There's no way Moto would downgrade the CPU... that'd be stupid, plus this is a Symbian phone = more memory needed hence needs faster CPU

  • I dont think gsmarena is going to give any review on this handset. This is really sad. Anyway those who want to know more about this handset please visit this page: This is a good review.

  • are you sure its only 300mhz? I heard it was 800mhz, taking after the E8's 500mhz and Z6's 625mhz... I find it impossible to believe that the people at motorola would actually downgrade.

  • Stop lying. The Z10 does 300mhz and the NOKIAs Nseries with the TI OMAP do 334mhz whilest the other Nseries do 369mhz. So realy theres absolutely no truth in what you just said.

  • Change your memory settings to sim memory. Thats what i did and it cleared that problem. And if you have saved all your numbers to your sim you should be fine. You can copy them either way so you have them saved to both phone and memory. But set your phone to view only your sim memory this will avoid others seeing who you last texted. Also try keeping your phone close by so you can have more control on who's looking.

  • It looks great with the specs to back up the looks!! People say it is too plasticky..(is that even a word..lol), but it can't be any worse than the Nokia N95, or any of Nokia's N series. They make all of their high end phone entirely out of plastic. I do wish it was a bit shorter though. 110mm is kinda long for a slider. If it had the Z6's dimensions, it would be awesome.

  • i heard its a good fone but not very robust and feels plasticky.

  • Hey guys motorola Z10 is better than any nokia N series phone. Its processing speed is double than any nokia N series phone.

  • So nick...qvga editing useless ? do me a favour - put moto z10 in the search box on you tube and see how many qvga edited videos pop up - loads. useless you say? i belive you are wrong my good sir. clearly you have never used this phone. im not saying its a market leader but it is a nice good quality phone.

  • oh really nick,,,,first use the phone, then post. I have it and it is....AWESOME

  • wheres the point in video editing something which is at qvga resolution? it is unusable

  • motorola zn5 is out! and has better pic quality than n82! check smape and mobile review! take that moto haters!

  • clearly you havent used the video editor on the z10 if you thing it is the same as the other more common mobiles...it has alot more you can do and is very easy to edit. plus all the eefects you can add - cut a video and move scenes adding transitions and text along with sioundtracks or commentary. - lg dont do that - nokia dont do that. unless you have used the fone dont comment on it. i own a nokia n95 and an lg. both very good fones but the video software on the moto is way ahead of them. camera is just as good as my n95 - i printed off two pictures one from the n95 and one from the moto - absolutly no difference. none at all. moto just brought the game to the scumbags at nokia and s.e. ........what you boys got to compare...nuffin. and se are cancellin fones. crap

  • Yeh i agree wYIY its all about Nokia on this website. Well Nokia are crap! Same designs, boring old N95 all the time! Think about other brands GSMarena except Nokia and Samsung.

  • It's a common feature on UIQ 3 phones, just like my SE M600i. So far, I haven't found the way to delete them. I guess you cant.

  • Even the LG Viewty has video editing

  • Anyone know how to delete most recent contacts in the messages.. i.e. when i go to send a message and press contact, it comes up with who I have recently messaged. I want to be able to delete who I have recently messaged. I dont want other people to pick up my phone and nose through who I have recently txted. Even if you delete the sent and recieved messages and delete the call history it still shows who you have recently txted.. Please help someone..

  • still have no review on this one yet? What would you expect from NOKIArena...I mean GSMArena (oops)

  • I watch mp4(mpeg4) movies on my Z8. Download a video converter called "imtoo" that allows video converting into various formats them set the video size to 240320 to watch in landscape mode.

  • The now 3yearold N80 has on board video editing so does the 3yearold SE W900 and many others. Im still waiting to hear about this one special feature? Cause video editing has always been there.

  • having had this phone for 3 weeks i must say camera and video is good but the whole phone itself aint up to par. Its very buggy and crashes alot. little things such as fast forwading video sucks. (only works on the bourne trilogy films). Also the middle button doesnt take you 2 main menu anymore which is abit odd, you have to use the key on the side on the directional pad. The cheap plastic is a turn off too and is prone to scratches and colour fading of the silver paint job

  • onboard video editing

  • venom Please tell me what is this feature that you are talking about that no other phone has except for this one? Don't tell me the whole bending slide cause its not a deal breaker.

  • For people who want features such as wifi go for other phones that will cost way more, or for those who dont probably wont stack up to this phone. This phone is a multimedia phone that has something that no other phone has.Another important thing is the banana slide feature which is bound to get noticed when youre using it. The Z10w and the Z12 should (not sure) be on the way. One thing in my opinion is that i dont like is fat phones. 21mm is not slim even though it may be more feature packed than this. To add to it most people dont use all the features as well as the fact that people cahnge phones every half year to 3 years. So if you intend to pay that extra money go ahead. I would also like to comment on the camera, it takes wonderful pictures using its 3.2 but only the cybershots match up in quality. There is also a photo capturing time of over 1 second which is the fastest of any phone in the world, so handshaking becomes less of a problem(image stabilizers dont work that well:p ) Bottom line it has good and bad points but dont!! let one or two features make this phone bad, come on I mean 32 Gb, only the n96.

  • When are gsmarena going to do a review about this phone?????????????????????????????????????????

  • no motorola dont sucks coz i am using rokr e6 and it is excellent and cheap so i love my motorola and i will also buy this phone

  • I have heard absolutely NO WORD on this coming to South Africa, does anyone here know when it's coming? My 13yearold little brother needs a new phone his SE W300 was broken by a friend's dog LOL! Anyway i think this is the perfect phone for a 13yearold, has a nice lil 2.2inch screen, a nice average 3.2mp camera and a beautiful design. Right now all im seeing is the Z8 at here and i don't want that troublesome phone for him, i get the feeling Voda don't like UIQ phones, even the SE W960 has not been released by them, does anyone know anything about this? Thanx.

  • where is gps? after a1xxx and e1xxx, motorola sucks...

  • Thank you a lot . :)I really wish i can know u better

  • Having owned a about 30 phones in the last 10 years I can safely say that the Motorola Z6 I am currently using is the best one so far.. and I am waiting patiently for my Z10. The new Linux based operating system is the best I've used in any phone due to its high level of customization. You can have any folder or app on the home screen and re-arrange all other elements as you wish. The build quality of the Motorola Z series is also top notch, handsets feel sturdy and the slide has a real weighty 'clunk' to it... where-as on both versions of the N95 feel plastic and the slides are very delicate, Samsungs slides are of a good build but not up to Motorola standard, and dont even get me started on sony... I agree that Motorola phones in the past have been difficult to use and the software was rubbish, and they basically were relying on aesthetics to sell phones (RAZR and L series) but this has all changed with the recent phone releases. It DOES have up to 32GB memory, although only comes with 4GB as this is a future proofing feature, and 32GB mini SD's are not available yet... Kudos to Moto for future proofing!!!! And people compaining about no WiFi ... keep a look out for the Z10w on the way soon!!! Motorola slacked off for a few years, right after they released the RAZR a new CEO came on board and wrecked everything, hanging onto the RAZRs success for dear life and had no vision for the company, hence multiple RAZR releases....New people are on board now and Motorola are going to take the lead again soon!!! mark my words!!!

  • I have this phone and i have a question. does anybody know how to play videos that aren't recorded on the phone to view it on the screen sideways, not right side up. is there any good programs out there for free?

  • traveler.. no. Went on a trip with some college fried over the Memorial day weekend. it was a lot of fun. cant share all the pix though :)

  • The pictures saved on my pc shows 2048x1536. I am not sure if the transfer to Picasa web album is the cause of the lower resolution. (i was wondering why they dont look as good on the website) Here is a zip file with few pictures. h ttp://igotaq.googlepages.com/PIX.zip

  • Hi igotag . Are u sure that this is the highest resolution ? 1600*1200 is a 2 megapixel . And Z10 is supposed to have 3.2 megapixel right ? The resolution should be 2000*1500 approximately .

  • If u dont mind , Z10 does inserts smileys into messages .

  • I did take it with the highest resolution. I'm VERY satisfied. People dont believe that these pictures were taken with a phone.

  • Why didn't you take pictures with the highest resolution but only 2 megapixels ? Do you feel good with what you have taken with Z10 ?

  • Here are some pictures taken with the Motorola Z10. Judge the camera for yourself.

  • I have been reading about this phone every day since i came back for my summer break. I was excited to find that t-mobile usa has launched its 3G network in nyc. Word in the streets is t-mobile will pick up this sweet phone that supports its new born 3G network. I have never owned a motorola phone because im a loyal samsung guy. I currently own the samsung u700 but decided to leave my u700 in my back pack when i saw the z10. I compared it with the nokia n81 but the nokia got smashed, according to the reviews i have been reading. I dont like the banana slide form factor because im a samsung guy. I will pick this phone up as soon as it is available on ebay. I will get it even if t-mobile doesnt pick it up. Forget the 3G. What i want to know is if this phone is really great, why are people leaving bad comments about it? Does it support mp3 tones as text message alert? Does it truely have xenon flash instead of led? Does it auto power off? Thanks for sharing with us.

  • wow 32gb? is that an error or can this phone really handle 32gb of space?

  • Pratically it is a Nokia by Motorola!!!!

  • is this motorola's flagship?because this phone is kinda lacking some basic features such as FM RADIO,3.5 AUDIO JACK AND WIFI,I HOPE THAY will put all thease features in the Z12.

  • Specs and looks of the phone are very tempting. Only one question: Will UIQ softwares on SE UIQ touchscreen phones work normally or function on the Moto UIQ phones?

  • Lets all vendors competes. I think all comments just crap. If u thought nokia or se better than moto, then why n & se fans so worried about it. Its bcoz z10 have so many potential to save moto.

  • I've not had a Moto for a looong time - tend to be a SE owner - can anybody tell me whether Motos can send proper smilies within a SMS pls? Thanks.

  • True, these are wise words indeed. It is REALLY disappointing that people today buy phones for their brand prestige rather than their individual quality. Many have been brainwashed into thinking that all Nokia phones are the best and all Motorola phones are pieces of junk. A comprehensive hands-on review will be the real deciding factor when buying a phone or any other product for that matter.

  • Does anyone know if this phone likely to crash. Is it worth buying this phone? I really want to buy this phone but after reading all the bad comments about it, I really doubt getting one.

  • no it goes up to 32gb come on get ur facts straight

  • ***up to 4 Gb not 32GB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! booo haha

  • what you talkin bout boy? this phone looks and feels quality. the slide is far better than any nokia se slide and it does not feel att all cheap. if you had checked b4 you brought the phone it clearly says everywhere that it is usb not 3.5mm a very very deluded man who clearly cannot handle a real quality phone, maybe a nokia 3310 would be more suitable?

  • i just bought the phone, the sound quality is amazing better than any motorola phone till date.

  • This phone looks amazing in the specs but in reality it sadly dissapoints. Firstly holding the phone: it feels cheap dut to the fact it is all plastic, the top half which slides up wobbles and moves quite alot.Camera and volume keys on the side also feel very loose. Internally the phone is very slow, even at doing simple tasks, why sould i wait 1.5 - 2 seconds just to see my contact list? The phone also crashes all the time, wheather i have exited my applications properly or not! There is no headphone jack, just mini usb! Seriously guys DO NOT bother with this phone, there are far better ones on the market with the same specs. Mine is going back.

  • Excellent fone......... perfect display better than n81,nseries..... really... wifi would be gr8

  • @anyone thinking of getting this fone cos it looks excellent, am used to s/e though so am a bit worried. so can anyone tell me wot the music quality is like cheers

  • Mate you need more than a 3.2 camera just to get descent 6*4 photo's you could never make jumbo ads with a 5mp. I work for a photo company and i have seen the quality of the 3.2's the only descent one is the SE camera.

  • great phone, had it a month. . . had to send it back to o2 friday as it had crashed and will not turn on? waiting for a replacement

  • i dont think a 5mp camera is needed 4 a cellphone. it is needed only when u r going to print jumbo pictures. 3MP enough 4 cell. i owned a sony ericsson k790 and d picture quality is awesome.i loved this phone(z10)ever since it launch. waiting 4 its launch in india. hope they will keep balance between features n price factor.

  • kuldeep, reason is fairly simple. You really dont need anything more then 3.2MP. Like someone said in this post anything over that and your printing jumbo ads. Would be best if all the competitors worked on optics and making a 3.2MP camera just like a digital cameras and not bouncing with 5 8 10 that have optics that are crap. I think Moto is going this way. More technology in the 3,2 & 5 MP space. This might be what the Kodak Motorola team up is. Hell id even take a VGA phone if the optics were perfect for printing photos. ;) remember optics of MP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • although the phone is overall awesom but the q. is here arise dat why motorola uses these 2 or 3.15 mp cameras in these cool mobiles

  • phone is great, but video review sucks!

  • Motorola can do a lot better waiting :D

  • Does this phone has 3.5 mm jack?? It seems like a great gadget. Only expecting the adequate price (the difference between success and failure).

  • First 3.2 MPx Moto phone? Hahaha. The Moto MS550 was released 2005/06 being one of the first 3.2 MPx mobiles ever released by a big company (although it can be found only in Asia). All the best!

  • A very strong competitor among 3MP camera phones...even I think its a step ahead among some of its competitors in following manners: 1. Scratch-resistance screen. Nokia isnt offering this. 2. 3 MP camera with xenon flash. 3. Video(QVGA 30fps) 4. Symbian UIQ. 5. Unlimited phone book. 6. 16 million colors. 7. 3G. 8. Seperate processor for multimedia. 9. Strong Battery time. Its time to accept the truth. We should not criticize Motorola phones for the reason they are not Nokia. Things have changed. Its very kiddy and foolish approach to support phones only cuz of brand. Specially when Nokia and also Sony Ericson phones have been proved to be faulty and waste of money. I ve read different comparison with this phone, wherein ppl evaluating their Nokia or S.E as they are the sole judge. This is CRAP !!! Let's wait for GSM Arena's overview.

  • hi, thinking of getting this fone wen i upgrade but am used to s/e fones and am a bit worried if it will match up. i think its an excellent looking fone but wot is the music and video player like, anyone help cheers

  • well ive just upgraded to this phone and still unsure whether to keep it or go for another brand before my 14 day return runs out.i must say the phone looks great and the screen quality looks good and pics look good too feel as if it should have had a bigger screen for the movies.anyway my dilema keep or take back for n958gb or soul hmmmm

  • This phone is great, bought one off of ebay and got it today. Only thing i would add is wifi, thats about it. the 3.2 MP camera is really nice, takes great pics. Perfect replacement for my old buggy crashing Nokia. Would def recommend this phone to anyone. Thanks motorola, keep the Symbian UIQ comming out!

  • A great phone from the MP inventor...Motorola phones are still the most practical & best quality "overall"!

  • thanks tsepez,,s/e do not get it right the c902 pic are awful,,the p990i i have still have crashes every time i give it another chance to work,, Ive always liked motos menus despite wat others say and wish they would bring out a souped up t720i with its snap on cam with its own velcro case,,milk white flush keypad and super clear black on white external display,,chubby aerial wich gives better reception and battery,,but it looks like a phone should with face hugging clamshell design and good earpiece size,,most mobiles are a slit thats really uncomfortable on the ear ...why dont they bring back the pull out aerial its uber cool and slides away so will not snag your pocket,,it will better the reception and up battery life but, "NO", people want these slender mono blocks that look nowt like a phone should!! at least moto had a go at a new design which works and is solid... I wish and hope moto regain strength and succeed again..

  • wow Motorola have found a 3.15 megapixel chip. what next. a 5 meg cam phone. considering Motorola invented the mobile they were the first. you thought they be the best. not so,bland design. not so menu and awefull camera quality. but i will big up the V3X i had one. it seemed quite good. but compared to my Viewty bit like a 3210. good luck M on the next mobiles.

  • hi, thinking of getting this fone wen i upgrade but am used to s/e fones and am a bit worried if it will match up. i think its an excellent looking fone but wot is the music and video player like, anyone help cheers

  • I want this phone badly. I'm willing to pay anything just to get my hands on it! Thank you Moto...

  • Played with this phone today. AND DAM ITS NICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Lol,with all the Panel bugs the XPERIA has it may underperform, i think SE will make a mess of it and give WM a bad name, like they did to Symbian UIQ with the P990, and now MOTO are left to pick up the pieces and make Symbian UIQ look good and make it what it was supposed to be.

  • They are joining with kodak so things will go up and up for moto,,their is nothing wrong with the z10 only in sum s/e heads,,thats why it dropped points quick as s/e hated anything to beat their xperia,,and i cannot wait to see how poor it underperforms,,ha

  • MOTOROLA with this phone has a better concept than others brands, because you have a regular Camera, a good Music player and like and super extra good video camera so I think in a couple of years MOTOROLA will be the first place in mobile phones remember if you punch first you win

  • No thats wrong its usb 1.2 and the transfers between my Z10 and pc is very fast.

  • its more beautiful if u compare it indian aishwairya rai .... thanks to (u.k.)moto to launch here in u.k

  • this phone rocks

  • USB v1.1????? I don't understand...Such a high end phone and a slow speed usb?

  • yeah it can definitely take an 8gb card, its future proofed to take up to 32 gb cards, but they aren't around just yet

  • hi everyone, thinking of getting this fone it looks excellent but will it definetly take an 8gb card or above cos got sony at the mo and got loads of music on it and dont wanna not have it with not a lot of music, cheers

  • Motorola is not for sale...maybe(only maybe)only the mobile phone division! It maybe a good thing because the new Moto owner may make this brand #1 again... No matter who own Motorola phone division, I bet Motorola will still produce the best phones in the world as this is what they are best at.

  • Motorola still produce the best usable features phones in the world.

  • Is time to say goodbye to Motorola. They have no idea what to make. Company is even for sell and no one wants to buy the company.

  • gods sake, most of you lot are judging the phone by looking at the specs, fact is you know sweet F.A until you've bought one and used one, i have no complaints with my Z10, whoopdidoo no wifi i might go an cry about it jeez, its a good phone end of! the only people that can disagree are the people who have owned one and don't like it, fair enough. Sony's yeah there alright but just a bit bland, an the same can be said for the nokia, alright the nokia might have every feature thinkable but its just all a bit boring tbh, the Z10 has something about it thats cool, whenever iv got the phone out in public people love the fact that its a kick slider, but thats what most people concentrate on, this phone is more than just that, it can edit video for one, find me another phone where you can do the same just as easily as the moto. A lot of people i know have a nokia, or a samsung or a sony and they just don't have anything cool about them, packing a phone full of features that tbh you wont probably use isn't a good thing, so yeah you can say the nokia has this that and the other but it doesn't really mean anything, this is a good phone thats all that matters

  • RIZR Z10 = trash it is so damn sloow

  • Is it true that it only sports a usb1.1. That's really crappy. Takes forever to load music on the phone.

  • finally! it is already released

  • Im just wishing N95 have a design like this. it would be a perfect phone. perfect fiture and perfect design. I hate N95 design, but i love N95 fiture...

  • J K try datakits.co.uk where they sell bodyglove cases for moto rizr phones

  • to JK i think you can do that by... first, reformat the memory card that you wanted to use onto the Z10. secondly, just copy-paste all the content from the original memory card to the one you planning to use. the best way to do this is through card reader.

  • mistake on previous opinion. "Everybody should stop saying"

  • Bottom line, everybody should just saying this phone is better than that phone and vise versa, etc. each phone has it's ups and downs. depends on what you want and like in a phone. anyways, i have a question for z10 owners. the 1gb bourne sd card. is there anyway of copying or moving those files to my bigger sd card? when i do this and run the file, it says illegal copy. plus does anybody know where to get a phone case/cover for the z10? can't find one anywhere. if anybody knows any good sites to get games, applications, etc for this phone, it would be greatly appreciated. thank a lot, jk

  • wat's up with this fone???can anyone tell me im planning to buy like this one but im confused coz nokia E90 seems better, but a bit expensive, does this phone really rocks?

  • looks a nice smart phone, could never bother with motorola again though after the countless returns and problems ive had with them in the past. they have the least appealing software too. when are they going out of business?

  • Come on people, stop these silly arguments. You will never persuade each other because you are forcing your own individual needs and preferences on other people; that would only create conflict. Take this example, not all men are interested in breasts, some are interested in buttocks. How can you ever persuade a buttocks guy that breasts are better? It is impossible, and would be a pointless argument. We can all be winners by liking what we like and share our opinions and suggestions to help others rather than forcing it on them. Thats what a forum is all about; be nice!

  • Motorola makes good phones no doubt. . . . Sturdy and reliable. But as usual the latest features are missing in its latest models. . .

  • Ok guys, stop bashing moto!!!!! this phone is great. no need for a 5MP camera, get a real camera if you want photos its a phone for crying out loud. The 3.2MP is all you need. The human eye cant see the color differance anyway with anything over 3.2MP. Only if you want poster size picture will you need more then 3.2MP, digital cameras with 7MP are a waste of money and phones with over 5MP is a also a waste of money. All of you have fallen to the marketing tricks of Nokia and SE. Wifi!?!?!?! people you dont need this on a phone unless your operator supports it with hotspots. anywhere you have wifi you have your laptop or pc. this phone lets you connect to your internet connection over the ADHOC bluetooth network protocal if you have Bluetooth on your PC or laptop. great feature, streaming youtube or downloaing apps is fast. you cant just say a phone sucks cause no wifi. the bluetooth internet gets the job done just as well as wifi, i dont think anyone will download 2GB over wifi to their phone its pointless and your battery will run out in no time. Id like to ask what people use wifi for that they cant use bluetooth......? Also who developes pictures here that are in more then 5MP big and puts them into a photo album? Thats one jumbo photoalbum you got. So dont hate, just be aware that some technologies get the job done just like other technologies. "Its now how you get there just that you get there, the road is the same."

  • can anyone tell me that can this fone is good for symbian third party software like smartmovie.sis

  • can anyone tell me that can this fone is good for symbian third party software like smartmovie.sis

  • how do these motorola guys make such splendid sets.i wish nokia OR SE could make something as eye caatching these........

  • that fone is excellent.dont why u ppl trying to take it down.5mp isnt important any ucan use gnubox and about other features they are not important.if u want moto to be like nokia they wont cause they know what they should put and what shouldnt not like nokia put many unessasry features just go buy your beloved and leave us alond

  • speaker is good not the loudest but crystal clear - doesnt distort at full volume. you can buy it ebay.co.uk or o2uk excellent phone.

  • SEAK GO GO MAn i am with you brothers! moto fans! haters can say anything.

  • I think the grades should be: Design 9.8 Features 8.0 Performance 8.0

  • What do you mean stoneage,,wi-fi, gps eats battery and theres no need for 5 mp,,,i bet you dont even use these features you child..go back to your s/e an nokia forums and stop coming in here,GOT IT..just because it was high scoring you blew your topthats jealousy and you voted it down,,wat goes around comes around,,go moto ive never had a problem with moto

  • b4 u guys fighting about which one is better can anyone pls tell me what is the speaker like on this phone. lound? quality? thanks

  • Nokia = Nike Samsung = Adidas ||| :D Motorola = Dolce & Gabbana Hello moto....

  • It is vga 30fps you muppet. ive got this phone and it is pure class. unless you have used or own one then your comments are worthless. and trust me if you had used it you would be saying good things. there are bad points to this phone but the good points are far more than the bad - if you aint got this fone or used it then dont dis it. there are lots of phones better than this on paper. but lets face it, us moto users dont need to prove it. we are far superior to you. that is why we are moto users. for the build, the last and the reliability. and to be different. you can say what you like. if you own a moto then clearly you have taste and are far better than the peasants that use the other more common brands. ha i laugh in your face...........Hello Moto :-)

  • Well,ppl....It's just a phone. We can't depend on a phone.Phone is used to do calling and texting.Extra features like music, camera and internet is just for fun.In America, they still love the iPod and Mac Notebook. They use phone only for basic usage. So,no wonder why Motorola didn't expect to add some great features on their phones. Stop fighting about Nokia vs Motorola.Peace.

  • I agree with you user -jeh0 this phone is really a stone age phone because: -no wifi -no gps -no 5 mp cam -no xenon flash -no vga video recording @30fps -no FM radio -no TV out -no office viewer The rating will go down eventually!

  • It's not just about design, Z10 is obviously sturdy constructed, while N82, and especially N78, N81 look and feel cheap, fingerprint magnets etc. so anyone who wants decent looking and durable smartphone will choose Z10

Yet in practice it turns out to be not this simple and prosy. Thanks to this technology this handset and those to come will sport fundamentally different circuit design, difference in software-related behavior of Motorolas UIQ-smartphones from other makers. Let us start with some walking around. How long does it take a Symbian-smartphone to boot-up? On average it comes to 25-30 seconds for S60 3rd edition FP1, while for Sony Ericsson P1i this time makes up 30-40 seconds. Motorola Z8 does it in 20-25 seconds. It is not too far ahead and seemingly there is nothing to shout about. • i just went thru the specs of this phone. this is a stone age phone because -no wifi -no gps -no 5 mp cam -no xenon flash -no vga video recording @30fps -no FM radio -no TV out -no office viewer it is a basic phone dude! deserves a rating of 5 in all aspects.

  • moto fans are starved of new high end phones from moto. thats why they are giving a high rating to a phone like this which is having nothing but the external design.

  • Voting results should be: Design 8.1 Features 6.8 Performance 7.3

  • to all nokia ppl u wont like this fone becuase ur used to nokias way and interested in it.about me iam not sticking to any brand just i used to have n95 and z10 is far better in quality design features how applications work every thing i give it 10/10.thats how i see it u may think any thing of it according to ur needs

  • it's not yet available here in our country.. but i'm planning to buy one.. i'm just saying that it's price is too much for it's features..i have nothing against it..ok?..

  • to all ppl saying that z10 lacks many features.if u want wi fi wait sandisk new wifi mc or use gnubox.about battery just close what is in task list and it ll stay for a good time.also about the menu i dont think it looks bad but u can change it by getting themes that has its own menu like some car themes.finally 2.2 inche or 3.2mp isnt bad.and if some 1 has any other opinion just say.for me that fone rocks and moto is finally again in competition

  • to blitzpam if it's how the way you look at it...definitely, the Z10 is not for you.

  • the price of this fone is too much for it's features...

  • Haha its time for moto.. i love moto Motorola = Dolce & Gabbana Few People can understand..!!!!!!!

  • 2@eL -this phone is average crap good! Lack of a lot of important features...I'm not a Nokia fan but technology lover and this device is far away from being a real ALL-IN-ONE cell phone.

  • u cant compare z10 to any other mobile its damm nice

  • its going to be biggest hit of the year in u.k

  • really a beauty from moto

  • plz tell me nokia people why u r feeling jaelous and afraid if motorola z10 is in top rankings of gsm arena ...now u started to post negative comments on z10 ......wow this is just a begining from motorola lets see

  • This phone has no WiFi, no xenon flash, no TV out, no 3.5mm audio jack, has a small screen...Lack of features, ugly design, high selling price, this phone is a joke, come on Motorola can you do better?

  • Dan Once again, yes, thank you for explaining to them. 2Anm I give up on you, you don't understand a thing, Dan had to explain it to you. So really you're not worth the time. Out of everything you've posted NONE realy has anything to do with the Z10, its all about me and my N81,you're kinda creeping me out here. Anyway i agree with Dan the Z10 looks like a great phone, but the price may put it at a disadvantage next to a N78, and Samsung i560. Moto seem to have something great coming judging by that ZN5's specs, and even the A1600 Ming looks good can't wait to see the final products

  • Ppl, ppl, ppl! Stop compairing da z10 2 N82. Its clear dat nokia produces da best fones!Da truth is Nokia N82 is far beta dan da z10! No offence 2 da z10 users, im jst being hounest.

  • People, people, First off, please cool down. We do not want 2 start nokia/motorola fight. I dont think Tsepz is trying 2 discredit z10. Secondly, when he talks about n81 and n82 being midrange, he simply means that their prices have fallen to the midrange level (below 400 euros). The range is stil expensive, but what is considered midrange. Secondly, like i said b4 z10 looks like a good phone. At least it has a good battery, good keypad and a good keypad. Thats the basics covered properly. Its among the good phones worth recommending. Now lets please put this matter to rest. Thank you.

  • . . . .its only a fone!

  • Dan EXACTLY! Thats what im saying, i totaly agree with you. 2Anm The price of N81 and N82 will keep dropping, both are mid-range devices. But like ive said i dont go by how much a device sells because that would be just stupid, i don't realy care how popular a device is, as long as it has support from its manufacturer and does what its supposed to il take it. The N81-8GB is the one with a high price and im happy its price dropped cause it was ridiculously overpriced whereas the normal N81 was well priced. From what ive heard theres more demand than there is supply of the N81. Well here in SA its like that with 3 out of the 4 networks here. Anyway back to the Z10, didnt mean to start an arguement.

  • and it's because the N81 is really on it's way out, you can see a dramatic drop on it's price

  • the bloody hell with geo-tagging, as if everybody's using it or will going to use it! hey Tsepz, do tell nokia that they should consider the n-gage games free to download without an extra cost. only then i think that N81 will srvive

  • Before i post my opinion, i would like to say that motorola z10 isnt a bad phone. Its specs are really impressive. Secondly, choosing to compare z10 against nokia n78 isnt wise. Why? Because nokia n78 is meant to be a phone that has an upgrade of everything. This automatically boosts its performance which is so high that it even beats devices like dedicated music phones or dedicated camera phones (3.2mp and below). According to the smape the n78 review was done with comparison of the almighty nokia n82. The n82 was only able to beat it when it came to camera, but when it came to everything else, (battery life, music quality and audio playback, gps/a-gps, weight, keypad, display, graphic score etc) the n78 was either at a higher level than n82 or at the same level. This means that n78 has the guts to go after even the highest phones. When comparing z10, n82 and n78, most likely n78 would come out tops. Why? It has more features than z10, it covers all the basics much better than n82 and z10, e.g. (battery life, music quality, power friendly and user friendly OS), and it is cheaper than both z10 and n82. (most people choose to go for the cheaper phones rather than choose to save and get something more expensive). So in short, n78 is a greater value for money. However the z10 is a good step up from motorola. Id like to see what else what else they can cook up.

  • This phone has no WiFi, no xenon flash, no TV out, no 3.5mm audio jack, has a small screen...Lack of features, ugly design, high selling price, this phone is a joke, come on Motorola you can do better? I'm not sure!

  • Lol the N81 is used to test Ngage, and EVERYTHING new that happens on Ngage is done FIRST on the N81 and we are informed and asked about it. Even though the N81 doesnt have a GPS chip its one of the 1st to have FULL Geotagging, together with N95,N82, N95-8gb, N78 and N96. The N81 also has developers working on versions of apps to be used in Landscape with its Gaming keys SO even if its "On its way out" NOKIA are still going to give use N81 users new apps and features 1st and even support. The N81 is one of the only FP-1 phones getting FL3.0 with WRT (Web Run Time) Widgets with the N95s, N82 and E90. :-D LOL Yep it realy is on its way out LMAO!! Never heard such garbage! :-D Anyway back to N78 and Z10, so even SMape dnt give a clear winner.

  • my,my Tsepz. you're temper please..LOL! mind you...consumer nowadays considers how good the camera first before looking what the phone is capable of. since the N81 is a gaming eccentric device, did it have become nokia's frontrunner? NO! not even if nokia decided to give free n-gage game downloads. N81 is on it's way out!

  • Okay ive just read the review. Heres what they say: "Competitive models like Motorola Z10 seem to beat the N78 camera in NO VISIBLE WAY, only SLIGHTLY excelling it in a few aspects white doing a bit worse in other." wow so really theres no clear winner LOL! Plus N78 has GPS with A-GPS, bigger screen, Wi-Fi, Geotagging, and lots more LOL!! So much for Z10 being better.

  • how bout z10 texting experience?is it still slow like others motos?

  • They mentioned it was a Beta, so its a Beta. At the end of the day both devices are NOT Camera focused so i don't understand why some of you are so anal about the cameras, also for the price the N78 is better, it has more. Where is the link that shows the comparison between N78 and Z10 please post the link? About the N81, lol us N81 users probably are the closest to NOKIA since they keep on emailing us on the device, and what we would like to see being improved in some features in the next FW, so NO its nowhere close oblivion :-)

  • to Tsepz since it came out from your posts that N78 will be due next week..meaning the reviewed unit on smape is not beta. conclusion: Z10 camera is much better than N78..period! LOL!

  • Huatz Im not the one who started the N78 vs Z10 post, i simply came to point out that there are a lot of Nokias that support 32GB mem cards, and then some random id1ot started talking about Camera quality to me. Spec wise the N78 seems to be better. Has the ROKR E10 even been announced yet? N78 is due for release NEXT WEEK.

  • To Tsepz, U used to boast about your N81 and now U boast about N78 which even hasn't released yet.N78 doesn't match with Z10.N78 matches with Rokr E10.

  • to all nokia ppl.since all ll vote aganist it so nokia be better in rank we dont care as we all know it is a good phone and deserve it.

  • to Dani don't expect too much about the high ratings of the Z10. cause once the "fanboys" flooded this site, the Z10's rating will going to plummet way down below. believe it! (in naruto's voice)

  • to Tsepz meaning...any 3.2 mega pixel cam that nokia will come out with can be beaten by Motorola Z10! nayz!

  • to Tsepz have you read on smape (i think) that Z10 camera is much better than N78? LOL!

  • this fone rocks.very good in every thing and who cares about camera go buy a digital 1.this fone has all what i need.so stop declaming that nokia phones are better from it.nokia freeks

  • camera pixel count is not important for a smartphone. Z10 is obviously better constructed than N82, and has many other advantages over N82 (preinstalled Call manager option, option for editing Office docs, beter music player)

  • Nokia N76, N77, N78, N81, N82, N95, E90, E65, E51 etc. . . Are ALL 32GB MicroSDHC compatible and the N96 is 48GB compatible, with 16GB already built-in plus expansion. NO NOKIA are NOT cheating. :-)

  • moto lovers, have u ever thought that, all this time, moto has been doing their research n developement to introduce new features and higher quality model for us?! thats why they are a bit left behind the 'brands-which-must-not-be-named' interm of camera, for the moment.moto is very solid and compacted that each time they fall on the floor, they are still attached.plus, the materials used to produce are very expensive that they result in higher price.but, it is a bonus because the materials actually extends your moto lifetime.different with the 'brands-which-must-not-be-named', their material are so cheap that they cannot withstand the wear and tear.cracks when dropped.thats why there are a lot of housing and casing of 'brands-which-must-not-be-named' in the store... so, relax moto fan...eventually, there will be an ultimate moto, which leads to the cause of n95 suicidal..uhrm... i mean the 'brands-which-must-not-be-named'. have a nice day!

  • realy nice solid phone. no offence, nokia n se lovers, nokia n se phones look too 'plastic'... i wanted to buy one d other day, but they look just like plastic toys...pity those phone hope nokia n se can catch up with motorola soon...moto rocks!

  • no wifi, sucky camera, no great feautures. usual motorola

  • WoooW I love u moto.... I hate east Brands ...

  • Hello Moto Nice to see you HIGH in ratings!

  • it would be good...if it was a little bit thinner and lighter

  • This phone is already out of date, the features is average low...Motorola is going down!

  • it has good looks but wow moto rokr u9 is a sexy phone for sexy girls so girls go for rokr u9

  • go moto go be more aggressive

  • yes this is true motorola never copy design or feature from other brand but nokia is cheater

  • u r compaing it with nokia n78 ...so tell is nokia n78 is 32 g.b expandable ok tell me which nokia phone is 32 g.b expandable .

  • this phone was 9.1 from last few months but now gsm arena shows it at front page ...and now nokia,s people started to vote for it gives less points ..... i thing nokia employees r feeling jealous to see this ....we all know here in u.k. that this phone rocks

  • I dont think Moto can keep up with Nokia and Sony Ericsson. The phones look simply too cheap.

  • Time will tell. After a week this would be a 8.5. Its new but 9.0 is too early to tell. Its not even a 5 MP phone.

  • @stevie stop telling lies, u said the can is better than N82(which awarded as best imaging device)? That joke is not even funny

  • some funny fanatics are here :) Moto Z10 camera is bad, look here at photo comparison to Nokia N78 camera: This phone is similarly priced as nokia N82 which has FIVE megapixel camera and xenon flash, built in GPS and wi-fi modules, accelerometr, dedicated 3D chip and so on. What this motorola has got? Only its nice design, that's it.

  • wow...this phone is sitting at the top rank of Gsmarena! This proves that Motorola is still the best after some difficulties months.Btw,how much is the JBenchmark2 score for this phone?

  • Ok, got this phone from O2 here in the UK. The phone is awesome! Build quality is better then Nokia and far above plastic land SE, the SW is really quick even though its CPU is at 300MHz. the 3.2 MP camera is better IMHO then any 5 MP camera that Ive seen (N95 would match up). The autofocus works perfectly. Pics are crisp and clear, and videos are amaizing. The Shozu option is great. Take a picture and directly upload it to any one of your pic sites like fliker and what not. The image and video editor is also a nice feature to have but dont think ill use that too much. HSDPA is rock solid, no break up in data transfer and its stable. Using google maps is a breeze. The web browser can be in landscape mode, a huge plus. Battery for now last me about 2 days cause im still using it all day long MP3 data transfers and picture taking. So im guessing 3 days normal usage. Not bad for a 3G phone. Now to encode movies in 30fps for my road trip next week. To the guy that said even if it was 10/10 SE would be better.....Mate, 5474 people have voted here and the phone is at 9.0 Motorola lovers will appriciate this, take your SE and use it, but not too much cause the paint will fade and peal off in about 5 months on any SE phone you buy. Give respect where respect is due!

  • Motorola is just left behind. Any Nokia or SE is far better.

  • hahaha!! this phone with such rating??? it's far too high for the specs. It's awesome but cmon are much better phones that deserve to have a better rating

  • this fone rocks just how to close web or media player?any1 answer plz.trowa

  • battery back up is good

  • i m in u.k. we all friends r going to purchase it

  • cool and sexy phone with nice feature

  • i thing this is first multimedia phone with 32 g.b expandable

  • one hell of a sexy looking phone. beats any nokia, SE, samsung..keep it up moto, proud of u

  • @ mD6Y well does SE have 16m color display?

  • it can be rated 10/10 but again SE phones are far better than simple motorola phones

  • to all those z10 owners. do you guys know of any good sites to get free applications/games/etc. for this phone. i just bought one from uk and it's on it's way here to me in canada. does anybody know if there's any cases for this phone, can't find em anywhere. thanks, jk

  • perhaps, guys at gsmarena is already "playing " with this phone. and will soon post their review

  • yeah get a review gsmarena.seems gud.

  • o2 has it available in stock now

  • when gsmarena is going to publish a review. . ? waiting 4 their review. . .what about its sound quality. ??

  • when will it be out on the market

  • which version of gnubox did u download g unit? an how do u get it on to your phone?

  • to gsmarena how about a review on this one

  • thx u gunit for answering me.i mean how to close anything in the task list..from where also to download prograns

  • Trowa - you csn put movies on your mob very easily as long as you got enough mem space I have a friend who uses file sharing software (e.g limewire, pirate bay etc) and you can easily download movies in mp4 format and then drag and drop it phone mem card via your pc. very easy really, dont understand what you are asking bout the web though sorry.

  • I go with Mark. I think Moto has to make a revolutionary change both in the look and functionality of phones. I wonder why they they make all these phones that rely on a technology that belongs to one step back in the market trends, while they can be quite creative and make models with functions so brilliant that could beat any market. ROKR E8, for example, could have been bundled with much better functions; a bigger screen and 3.15 camera with a cover instead of that hole which reminds me of a lost screw in the back of my phone, would have made the phone something fantastic. It is time for Moto to move, or they will lose even more market share.

  • hello.can i close progrems or web etc on z10 and if so how?any1 plz answer also can i download movies that work like the triology.

  • read somewhere tht textin on this babe was a pain... ne truth in these claims? really lookin forward to gsmarena's review b4 i get one!

  • MOTOMAN - Im running scummvm (lets you play some classic games such as monkey island etc) also emoze (allows you to sync outlook without exchange server setup) and gnubox (connect to broadband via phones bluetooth) and obviously divx as im sure you know its pretty limitless what you can do. as i have said b4 phone is excellent but battery is a little bit of a let down and the screen is a fingerprint magnet still love it though

  • Great looking fone ,.,. moto is coming out wit gd stuff tis year z10 ,e8 hope they keep going

  • Moto coming with great fones these dayz z10 ,e8 , Moto suddenly comes out with great fones

  • G UNIT what 3rd party Apps u have on z10?

  • I really think that this phone is too much for motorola :D But it's a nice phone, as I can see. But the battery...

  • No 3.5mm jack - minin usb only - though it is easy to pick up a usb to 3.5mm adapter

  • anyone know if it comes with a 3.5mm jack because from many sites they say its included but I dont see it anywhere and when i popped into an o2 shop i saw that it comes with the usb headphones just wondering

  • hey G! how about posting your review

  • its not coming soon its available and i thing this is the best model of the year 2008

  • I got mine last week. Its a great fone. Taking a bit of getting used to as i used to have a sony eriksson. Love the slide front. got all 3 bourne movies on a 1 gb sd card. To the guy who said the phone had software to upload other movies, where is that?. I want to put other films on the 4gb card i just got but havent a clue how to.

  • i think its time for motorola to get there design changed. like there profit margins, not looking good at all. shame really because dr martin cooper invented the mobile back in the 70's so its a shame. that this company has gone pete tong. had some good phones out. but like the rest of the world. its LG and Samsung And Nokia leading on the design market. take a leaf out of there books or !!GOODBYE MOTO!!

  • I got my Z10 a week ago an it is a really good phone, the battery does die pretty quickly if you use it heavily which is what i did in the first day, but if you dont use it loads it normally loses one bar of battery at the end of the day which isnt too bad, this phone just works everything about it just works brilliantly an its fairly simple to figure out how to use it, camera works like a dream an then just after u take a photo or video u can edit it straight away, for example if you take a photo click on options, then scroll down the menu an click on edit it opens up the photo editor which gives you the option to rotate the photo, crop the photo, alter the brightness, level the colours, add a frame, reduce red eye and then if you click on options again you get another menu where it allows you to add text, clipart, effects, change the colour and resize the photo, id go into the video editing software features but theres so many if be here forever, but everything you've read about the video editor is true its really simple an it is feature packed, the Bourne movies that you get are all really good quality, the only problem i have with this phone is that because i use a mac for whatever reason when you connect the phone to a mac, the mac can't find the phone, this may be due to the fact you need to install the disc that come with the phone which is a PC only CD, so i have to bluetooth everything from my mac to the phone which is okay, bluetooth is fairly quick but i prefer file transfers using USB, im really happy about this phone an can say its a huge improvement on my Moto L7 SLVR

  • Could u pls tell me How much does it cost this phone in UK without plan? I cant visit O2 website because its says that if u r out of UK you cant visit the shoping page... GUNIT pls answer...

  • you get USB headphones which aren't too bad quality

  • thinking of getting this fone but can anyone tell me what headphones you get with it please

  • On O2 it comes with a 1GB card preloaded with - 'THE BORNE IDENTITY' 'THE BOURNE SUPREMACY' and 'THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM' (all full movies) take up approx 729mb of the 1gb card so there is space for some music if you want. only one game preloaded on the phone 'ASPHALT RACER' - good game

  • Well i am hoping someone who has the phone can confirm about the flash!!! Anyone out there who has the phone please tell us!!! Is it xenon or LED flash??

  • the phone comes with the bourne trilogy preloaded on to a 1gb micro sd card , also withe the appropriate programes to convert your movies to play on the phone.

  • hmm.. i saw the same thing on the motorola website. 3.2 megapixel camera with 8x zoom and LED flash I guess gsm arena's specs are wrong?

  • I was cheking sites even the motorola UK site and the flash on that site is LED that why i am asking whats going on?? Cause the motorola conference thing in Barcelona the video showed it to have LED flash!!

  • Its Xenon flash. Read the specifications. 3.15 MP, 2048x1536 pixels, autofocus, video(QVGA 30fps), xenon flash; secondary VGA videocall camera

  • Does anyone know whether or not it will have the phone lock ability??

  • i have some questions, since i plan to buy this phone ASAP does it really come with all 3 bourne movies or just a simple 512 MB card? how's the gaming? they move smooth or they lag? does it have EQ? thanks a lot oh and btw, for those who don't believe g unit has a z10, go and check motorola.uk or o2.uk

  • xenon - like it says on the box

  • Hey i really want to know if it is xenon flash or not please!!!

  • to the dude that says he has a RIZR Z10 sorry i dont believe you. Need more proof then just you posting that you have it. heck i could say i have a motorola RIZR Z10 and post on any random website saying how cool it is.

  • Is it or isn't it a Xenon flash???Please answer

  • whoever you are .. you're lucky to have the z10 :)

  • thnx all ! i'd rather choose the z10 rather than the n95 i have seen the n95 but i feel like of what i read now.. z10 wins the competition thnx once again

  • I think Z10 and N81 are a great multimedia device.Again,I told that Z10 has 330 mhz processors not 300 mhz.I would choose Z10 than N81 coz I've ever played with N81.Frankly speaking,I didn't like it a lot. It's so heavy and loose.Sound quality thru headset was good but it's so bad from speakers.Vocal sound was barely heard.I've never played with Z10.But I would like to test it.Both phones are great. And I can say more about both phones once I test Z10.

  • mJe{ Yep the N81 is another choice in a way. Both N81 and Z10 are Multimedia Devices, the N81 offers more though. Which is the Smarterchoice? Well that depends on you and wat you want in a device. Yes N81 has a 2MP camera but besides that the N81 is a great competitor to Z10.

  • Okay - day 5 with this mobile for me. - Still love it. lets get some things straight - when comments are added they are 'oppinion' not fact and we dont need to have a cyber fight about which phone is best. I love my Z10 - Camera is awesome, very quick and image quality is good and flash is good. video is very good - the editing software on the phone is brilliant - very easy to use and loads of effects including adding a title/text/colours and add your own narration/tracks. you can then upload to utube staright away. - lets be honest video is the way forward. Battery leaves a little to be desired (last about a day under heavy usage) but then it is a multimedia phone so is power hungry. I prefer it to my n95. dont get me wrong n95 is an excellent phone but the z10 just has that special something. looks quality, slide is excellent and the phone does turn heads. in the 5 days i have had this phone 4 total strangers have asked me what phone it is and where i got it. Excellent phone and a real head turner if you want to be different and stand out from the crowd.

  • is n81 another choice? i wanna know which is a SMARTERchoice to have?? z10 is way nicer n81 only has 2 mp

  • is z10 a good mobile to buy? the moment i saw it i started checking its specifications and i think it has it all does anyone been using this mobile.. id really like to know more thanks.

  • ok for you two n81 is targeted for a larger audience, while z10 is targeted for a smaller one that because of pricing and looks. z10 looks AWESOME. you can read the review on mobile review or judge yourself by watching some pics! n81 has loads of features but doesn't even compare in looks with z10! so z10 = for men and women who would like a superb looking phone with a very fast camera and nice features n81 = if you want a multimedia phone( mus8c, videos, photos, ngage games, etc) i will but this phone as soon as it hits my market(romania:D)

  • OH YES! We will see sales stats soon, i remember someone said that about Z8 and it was a major crash in terms of sales, although i don't think sales say anything about a product expect for that most people like, i mean the V3 sold A LOT but it wasn't a great device. Im not saying the Z10 is crap, the Z10 is a great device, but someone had asked which is better in terms of specs, and the N81 outweighd the Z10 in that, so don't get all mad, and you just came and started complaining. So im sorry on part that it had to happen. Now back to Z10. . . G UNIT hows it going?

  • guys calm down who really cares. The N81 and the Z10 are great phones. I have the N81 and my twin has the Z10 and they are different. Stop comparing apples to oranges honestly.

  • and yes one more thing..... YOU win ..NOW STAY HAPY WITH YOUR CRAPPY N81 ok and let other decide which ones better..... we wil c the sales figures soon ... and peace... :)

  • wat the hell is going on people stop it... keep your war to yourselves we are not interested in knowing which is better n81 or z10.. but still i would just say z10 would still be a smarter choice at a little reduced cost xoxoxox

  • ucwl 1st of all the CPU in N81 is faster. Z10= TI OMAP 300MHZ, N81= Freescale i.mx31 369MHZ. 2nd why use 3G When Wi-Fi is faster, more reliable, yes its the 21century people use their phones to browse the net now Wake up! From i know the Z10 is Symbian UIQ and uses the Opera8.65 browser which i have installed on my N81 and found that the Safari Browser of Nokia is far ahead, maybe thats why i use it, maybe if i had the Z10 id be stuck with Opera8.65 and have to use my PC LOL! 3rd the Music chip in N81 is made by TOSHIBA NOT MOTOROLA. 4th how much RAM does a Z10 have on boot up? Like 30mb? Thats what i read at M-R, The N81 has 45.6MB on boot up. 5th yes bigger screen= Better Web Browsing exp ,better to watch video, better for texting etc. . . Ive got a Home theatre but can you carry around a home theatre where ever you go? NO! Lol build quality is great, yes when i press a button theres a tap sound LIKE ANY OTHER NORMAL PAD LOL! Its not a loud tap. Slider is fine like i said its tite even when open. Does Z10 have WRT and FL3? I think you should be the one changing your facts cause ive had to do quite a bit of correcting of yours. Sorry folks. Lol the N81 aint ugly, looks very different from what you see in pics, and it aint heavy, but maybe your the type who is used to carrying tiny V3 type featureless phones, don't worry i understand.

  • N81 has: Bigger screen ----BIG SCREEN AND BIG PHONE AND VERY VERY HEAVY InDEED Faster CPU ---CORRECT YOU FACTS Z10 isnt any less Wi-Fi---yes it lacks wifi but so what..better alternatives like 3g are available if you are a despo that wants to surf over the PHONE..!! More RAM aka MORE MULTITASKING like a PROPER MULTIMEDIA DEVICE. ----AGAIN CHECK YOUR FACTS Z10 is better...look about its technical aspects at some other websites. More Applications available for its OS (S60) whereas Z10 (UIQ) still lacks developers. ---- NO PROBLEM I M HAPPY WITH IT ATLEAST WE GET THE OPTION TO EXIT THE MUSIC PLAYER WITHOuT INSTALLING THE PLAYER KILLER. N81 also has 3D dual speakers plus Dolby surround coming soon. Thats a real Multimedia Symbian, DONT YOU HAVE A SOUND SYSTEM OR WHAT TO LISTEN SONGS LOUD..?? AND ON THE HEADPHONEs Z10 KILLZ N81 give it a try .... PLUS N81 also is getting FL3 and WRT for full YouTube support and other full flashsites Also has a better Web browser.. ----AGAIN MOTOROLA HAS IT ALREADY youtube support and all...... Better Gallery..----WHOS THE JUDGE ?? you.?? i dont think so....N81 is miles away from the video and picture galery features by the z10..editing uploading and what not... Better Music Player----LOL NO comments A sound chip to give better audio ----YEAH AND THE MOTO FORGOT TO PUT THE SOUND CHIP IN.!! WHICH ITSELF IS CREaED BY MOTO AND NOKIA PAY MOTO TO USE IT...!! And NO the slider is actualy pretty good, very tight, stable, and great spring. ----SLIDE IT UP AND TRY TO MOVE IT IT WOBBLES tap on a few buttons while slider is open and HEAR THE ANNOYING TAPPING SOUND....RIGHT.!!! ANd lastly......dont just look at the better camera for z10------just look at the speed and xenon flash....... and my apologies too to the rest of readers but i just thought it would be unfair to comapre this phone to an ugly N 81... sory again all of you..

  • jk - serious mate at the mo i havent seen an unlocked one cheaper than 400 quid. o2 told me it was led flash but i have got the phone and it is xenon. very good too. The camera is very good. As stated mine came with 'bourne' movies on a 1gb card. (yes all three full movies!) the quality of the movies is excllent. i had transformers and spiderman on my n95 and the quality was no where near the same. Sound is good - not as loud as n95 or n81 but doesnt distort at full volume and is loud enough for me. i got the rokr s9 bluetooth headphones which are excellent sound quality is excellent and bluetooth so no wires. pc software is excellent and very easy to use. at the end of the day it is a top phone and all my pals that have seen it have all said 'wow' when the have seen it. it looks very expensive and everyone has said how quality it feels. jk if you are looking for the phone search in google.co.uk for 'sim free' moto z10 cheers

  • G UNIT, it's seriously that expensive? you stated in one comment that moto confirmed it's led flash but in a more recent comment you stated it's xenon. which is it? also, nobody is selling it on ebay yet. hopefully somebody will be selling them soon. want to pick one up but not too sure i'll pay more than 500usd.

  • 1st of all the N81 doesn't have Touchsensetive buttons just a touchsensetive navi-wheel which can be turned off and used as a normal directional pad. 2nd of all besides the camera what else does Z10 have over N81? NOTHING! N81 has: Bigger screen Faster CPU Wi-Fi More RAM aka MORE MULTITASKING like a PROPER MULTIMEDIA DEVICE. More Applications available for its OS (S60) whereas Z10 (UIQ) still lacks developers. N81 also has 3D dual speakers plus Dolby surround coming soon. Thats a real Multimedia Symbian, PLUS N81 also is getting FL3 and WRT for full YouTube support and other full flashsites Also has a better Web browser Better Gallery Better Music Player A sound chip to give better audio And NO the slider is actualy pretty good, very tight, stable, and great spring. I apologize to the rest of the forum readers and Z10 owners just had point that out to this last poster, otherwise i'd like Z10 as my spear phone so i am a bit impressed by it.

  • N81 a better multimedia device..??? u kiddin me..? only 2 MP camera,,and that too without autofocus!! feel like a brick in your poket!! a squeaky slider mechanism...and a whole cluster of around 10 crappy touch sensitive button in a place size of a thumb tip.!!! LOL.....N81 sux big time..!! dont even dare comparing this beauty to a FUGLY n81..!!

  • its a wonderful design. especially the back side ;-)

  • JK - they are knockin em out on ebay now but at the mo they are around 300 - 500quid (600 - 1000usd) there are some other websites selling it 'sim' free for 400 - 500 (800 - 100 usd) i will upload some pics asap. quality phone- i prefer it to my n95 and mine is runnin with a 4gb card in it - speed is not affected at all. buy one now!

  • Well her goes fellas - this phone is a real thing of beauty and doesnt dissapoint in any way. it looks amazing and unlike my old n95 it actually feels quality - the kick slide is smooth and sturdy and the casing is metal not cheapy plastic. xenon flash and the camera is very very quick keypad is nice and smooth and texting is no problem and the phone offers quick response I got the phone o2 uk on a free upgrade and 35 12 mnth contract. with o2 there is a sd card pre loaded with the 'bourne' trilogy of movies. video is excellent and so easy to cut/edit and add music and graphics to footage. easy to upload staright to youtube/shozu etc. before this i had a n95 and for me this phone is miles better - it looks amazing and you can feel the quality. so what its only 3.5mpx the video makes up for it and lets face it - video is the future. very very nice phone 10/10

  • G UNIT Post some pics of it please

  • My phone is waitin for me at home cant wait!! will let you all know how good it really is. p.s - picked up the moto rokr s9 stereo bluetooth headset off ebay for 20 (retail on moto website for 75)

  • ordered my z10 last sat, should be here 2morro, can't wait, but il probably have to charge it for ages b4 i can use it, dnt think that'll happen

  • z10 is awesome.good design good features.i believe thats what i need if only there was radio fm.also nokia what all ppl take about same in most things.just love moto and ull like it.if any1 think something else just tell me.trowa

  • Its now for sale on moto uk website and also on o2 uk website - free on o2 on any pay monthly tariff over 25 per month. . . allthough they are not dispatching till middle of next week. with o2 you get 'the ultimate bourne' which is all the bourne films - nice - top fone. i am waiting for mine to arrive weds

  • Huatz I agree, but it seems Symbian UIQ3.1 on the Z8 was very buggy and unstable maybe its improved in the Z10 but the Z10 still lacks in RAM which may lead to instability whereas a N78 or N81 have both more RAM, On Demand Paging,a Stable OS and faster CPU.

  • Z10 has 330 mhz processors not 300 mhz.Z10 is the fastest Symbian UIQ OS phone among others.Sony Ericsson P1 only has 220 mhz.N81 is not an UIQ OS.But sometimes software plays a bigger part than clock speed.

  • Oh and the N81 has Wi-Fi as well. Z10 will be a great phone though no doubt, but the N81 is the better Multimedia Device.

  • Ive read the review and the sound is nothing close to N81 and i450. It doesn't have the same CPU as N81. N81 has a Freescale i.mx31 369mhz CPU, The Z10 has a TI OMAP2420 300mhz CPU. On top of that N81 has more RAM, bigger screen, Toshiba sound chip, Touchsensetive navi-wheel, better music player, 3D dual stereo speakers plus Ngage. All the Z10 has is a better camera but thats it.

  • Not released in uk yet . . . but any day soon will be avail. conifrmed by moto this is LED flash not xenon. cant wait til its out im getting one straight away. pukka fone

  • its available in u.k now

  • you dont even know how it sounds better try it and this one has also same processor as n81 and it has better cam and it has fixes over z8 buy this one better

  • 39xQ Rather take the N81 8GB, the N81 has better sound, Wi-Fi, realy fast 369mhz CPU, bigger screen, dual stereo speakers, more RAM and it has Symbian S60v3.1 OS9.2 so it has support for a lot more apps than the Z10.

  • z10 is awesome but motorola should add wlan and radio and sel l it all over the world like v3i.i love motorola so much and hope it become better than all companies.

  • I am thinking about getting this fone...is the music quality quite loud? If not wot about the Nokia N81 8gb... some1 plz reply...thanx (:

  • HELPHELHELP I really want to buy this phone, but how much will it cost??? Does it have a dual led or xenon flash??Please help. Thanx a lot

  • apparently 02 have put release date back to 20th april as there are 'software issues'

  • awesome phone !! hope motorola will add fm with RDS if final unit.

  • I wish they could make this phone again with aa better camera maybe say 5-8 megapixel? Oh! please! i love this phone and it's the only thing thats has turned me down from buying it...oh! and it needs FM radio w/RDS! :D Man this phone looks awsome! wish it had these features... (hope Motorola is hearing this...)

  • @piklz this product status still coming soon. no wonder it still not appear in top rankings

  • lets keep our fingers crossed..... its releasing tomoro on 14th of april 2008 on O2........!!!

  • should be in stock with o2 from lunchtime tomorrow

  • i think that motorola is number 1 in durability and for style..

  • Design 9.1 Features 9.0 Performance 9.0 Votes: 5084 Hits: 495226 1. Nokia N95 8.758 120,899 2. i-mate Ultimate 9502 8.630 2,009 3. Nokia N82 8.584 23,532 AND ITS NOT ON THE TOP LIST IN THE MAIN GSMARENA PAGE! WAKE UP PPL!

  • its advertised in mays stuff magazine but only on o2 network

  • pls modify the unit, include FM radio.

  • if moto release such phone having 5mp camera.. it will rule the market.. style and features combine in a phone.. style+durablity+features=success..

  • i like moto because of its durability.. i dont like moto because of lack of features..

  • what i wanna know is about the Zn5 and the Z12, those are going to be really great whit 5 megapixel cameras and z12 includes wifi.

  • Fone is released 14th April by o2 (uk) come on! cant wait, this fone is the nuts

  • what?! is it already out?

  • I really cant wait for this gr8 phone anymore!I saved money to buy it!:D its really gr8 phone

  • Simon i accept what you say, however not all phones are kick slide design and simply i like the look of this phone, i have been the owner of an n95, an xda orbit, w960i and an 8800 scirocco. n95 is a good phone but feels cheap and the slide is flimsy and is not the smallest phone i have possesed. i have never had any interest in moto's but this phone has turned my head and i shall buy it.

  • g-unit you mention 3 things that are present in dozens of other handsets what does it have that is different? what does it do that other high end phones doesnt do answer is nothing it is a very average phone simple as that.

  • Oh yea, most average phones look like this, kick slide, quality build, fast, and .....HELLO MOTO! Nothing average about this, take a look around. . . everyone has an n95 these days yawn yawn N95 boring!

  • pretty average phone that doesnt bring anything new to the table.

  • this phone iz sweet az hell

  • it have xenon

  • the specs are wrong: no xenon flash, but dual led flash. just saw a vid of it on youtube. this might be moto's saving grace...

  • You can already pre-order, so release date must be close

  • I agree with huatz and brooklyn.. MOTO just owns.. no matter wot the say... always top.... Moto always were creator of every better stuff about phones... anyways.. MOTO always top !!!

  • motorola consistently makes high quality phones, i don't know why people dislike the menus and UI..its simple- not like the convoluted menus of samsung and nokia

  • To Motohaters, How much did U get paid for bashing Motorola? U guys have to face the reality that Moto is the innovator of mobile phone.Moto invented vibration and Ur brand have to pay Moto for having vibration in their phone.

  • As usual, every newbie yells about MP in a camera, but guys, please realize that it's so much more then just MP that makes a camera good.

  • Spoke to O2 again, confirmed this will be released on April 14th so not long!!! so what its only a 3mp camera, thats all you need for a mobile, the mega pixels only really affect the quality of a picture once it is blown up to over 12 x 10 3mp is fine for the phone.

  • wow..still not available yet?...3mp is in the past now..Moto needs to catch up..big time.

  • this phone looks amazing! spoke to o2 select customer service manager today who said they are looking rolling it out on the network mid april and that is confirmed! trouble is, do i go 4 this or the xda orbit two? p.s o2 told me this phone will be preloaded with the 'bourne trilogy' and come with stereo bluetooth headset.

  • wow finally motorolas first cameraphone higher than 2mp, pity its 2 years too late!

  • still not available?! geeeeeeezzzz!

  • Moto, you were just a hair away from becoming the perfect phone in terms of features and functionality. WLAN and an FM radio with RDS would certainly vault this phone into the uber Phone strata....

  • the Z10 first, then the Z9?

  • I cant wait for the A1600 to come out, looks very nice! It even has Wi-Fi ;o

  • Still no fm??. Oh! This could have been an allrounder. I made a consecutive "Wow!" when i read the TFT 16M colors 240x320 (QVGA) display resolution, HSDPA 3.6 MBPS, 3.15 Megapixel camera with Xenon flash and Autofocus, QVGA video resolution recording in 30fps but the lack of fm stopped me from saying wow.. :-(

  • Moto will release A1600 with 700 mhz processors.I think they will release a 1.2 ghz processors soon.

  • Processors are only half the story in any computing device,,the samsung d600 allowed cif video recording at 15 fps in mpeg 4 format with a high bitrate of 1.5MB per second,,well that had only 104mhz clock speed..by comparison nokia 6630 had a 220mhz processor and struggled with qcif 15fps in 3gp format ??? IT is software,,ram,,efficiency,,cache levels,,applied voltages,,and amount laid on the processor at maximum load on what any proccessor can achieve..

  • i think MOTOROLA is cooking up something good. bring in the nice goodies MOTO!

  • i hope the long wait will be worth it, or else....

  • It's design look's like a engineering marvel.

  • Does this one have touch screen ?

  • A Phone Full of Fulls!!!

  • looks like a moto k1 and the z8...... no different there then for there great new design !!!! lol

  • Huatz You're forgetting that Symbian is a very power sufficient OS so it doesn't require a very MHZ CPU like the power hungry WM, Linux and OSX OSs. Now the N81 and N96 have faster CPU than Z10.

  • I shouls have explained better,, SHARP electronics the brand make moto lcds not the display is sharp..But the display is sharp and clear with black blacks

  • The 2010 phone might be the Kodak Z12 baby....

  • Its out 14th april 2008 in carfone warehouse but always remember its estimate only,,Moto always use high power proccssers and good clarity earpieces and clarity enhancers...Moto have always done walkie talkies and still used by uk police but they have been a little late on the multimedia uptake...The z10 has got really good praise and photos in wat mob mobile show that and future ventures with kodak will improve that and moto use sharp lcd and if its anything like my v6 maxx then hell that was good and blacks were black..

  • Heard from asia Motorola. They say will launch on this year (don't know which month). Not on 2010. If launch on 2010 will be new model. And the specifications will change a little bit.

  • i finaly got the date when this phone will b available ,its april 2010.

  • Are Motorola actualy planning to release this in this lifetime??? Its going to be outdated by the time its released if they take any longer.

  • Go get your 702 then dont post in here... THEIR is a lot more to this fone than than the last z8 its a complete revamp and should be out april

  • If I have to choose this phone or SE C702 ,I will choose SE C702 for 1000%. It goes to the market very slow. It will be older older & oldest. ha ha

  • i agree with all of you! Motorola is Just for Motolovers!!!!!

  • This goes to show that high-tech gear is not all that...even simple things are enough to satisfy a person.

  • U guys are right.they all are so childish.I'm so satisfied with Motorola.I don't need 5 megapixel camera,Wifi,Gps and 3G coz they're useless in my country.I wonder when someone bought an N95 but when I asked him about wifi or gps,he didn't know at all.he just knew how to call n playing music...damn,they wasted their money for their stupidity.Btw,I wrote all these comments by using my old E680 n I still love it.

  • @jj, That's because Motorola isn't for children. They don't understand real values. Look at the readers' comments - for Motorola they usually start with "I've had this Motorola for two years..." whereas for Nokia it's usually "Nokia is th3 b3st, I've had thr33 f0r the last tw0 years but n0w th3r3s a black 16GB v3rsi0n s0 I'm g3tting it as s00n as it's 0ut..." lol. Never satisfied! Motorola owners are happy with their phones and they don't need to antagonize others to feel good about themselves. Cheers!

  • jj i believe you, but u sure about android?:/ link please?

  • Wow, a lot of people nowadays antagonize Motorola... that is so childish. Every phone has its strengths and weaknesses, so no use comparing. I dont get why discrimination is even present in the phone industry. As you may know Motorola phones are not that bad in the software side. The os is pretty good and it features the stuff only necessary to the users unlike those who give away features which the masses dont even know or care about. The Z10 delivers the best for its customers, not the most. PS. Your most hated company will get a software facelift in the form of Android for its future phones. You will see. And sorry for bragging, I wrote this whole article with my "inferior" Razr Maxx V6.

  • As a game tester I tell u this phone is NOT for games. Lots of crashes, weird behavior and those are device issues.

  • It could be out but i am waiting till it says available on gsm arena..I am in uk too but buying else where brings troubles if it goes wrong and its often best to see reviews first to see if their are any bugs.Altho its been top ratings in most uk mags and i want one its just best to wait . Any european model should work perfectly in uk tho as were all the same its if you buy asian or usa or china models there could be differences in operating frequencys

  • must get this if has FM radio

  • This seems to be a nice phone and all.. But motorola needs to get up to scratch with their cameras.. Like a [new] standard Nokia phone will have a 3.2mp or 5mp.. and what does motorola have? this is their best.. Pretty sh*t.

  • @brynn..also i am pleased that they have made it not touchscreen and added a d pad so its capable of normal java games..I mean if it was no dpad just touch it would be usless at game control

  • its now in aprils stuff magazine and they describe it as an icon,, IT has one touch fire up button for camera that can be working in 1.5 seconds even if fone is off??do they mean switched off or when fone is idle it does not say...It has smartfocus to concentrate on pertinent details like faces and burst mode that catches 3 pictures a second..The 30fps video has edit suite to add captions commentary and visual effects before sending it to you tube and other blogs..The 2.2 ihch screen is great to watch film or podcasts which you can save to 32gb micro-sd card when available and is solidly built.. This fone has got first class rating and most wanted in all the uk mags and does sort out all the quirks on the original z8 from keyboard to nippier operation and has the ame 300MHZ proccessor on board

  • At motorola website, show the microSD in Z10 will up to 32GB microSD. That very good..

  • motorola plz gift me this handset becuz i really luv this fone

  • does this phone support third party software

  • every thing is good

  • should be available in india indian people wants 3.2 m.p camera fone

  • i really like this design ..i m waiting for this one in u.k

  • i saw this in mobile asia 2008 camera is no doubt better than my n95 8gb

  • This phone seems to be very nice as per specs, specially with 3.2mp xeon flash and symbian OS. Linux OS is far better but hope this one will impress those who prefer symbian OS. I've always trusted motorola in build quality. They really make slim yet tough mobiles. Does anyone have any idea about pricing of Z10? I feel this one is perfect mobile for descent users.

  • Its also in april What mobiles as editors choice and has fantastic cam and vid quality, easy to use and because no touchscreen it operates like nokia series 60,cam starts in under 2 seconds and D pad and keys hav been revised since z8 and sinch to use.Looking at pics they come out superb.I AM getting it and should be out imminently

  • its in stuff or t3 magazine no 1 choice most wanted item,,plus it does look really snazzy, this could be my next fone or samsung g810.. It is on its way i would say april

  • This more like a hoax for me... I can wait no more.... I'm gonna get N81 or n95 perhaps.... Bye moto !

  • "motorola is launching e8 next week and z10 next month" I wonder why the difference in release date of almost a month between the two? Is that a sign the Z-10 has bugs that haven't been worked out yet?

  • iv given up on moto with this phone iv wated waiii to long

  • motorola is launching e8 next week and z10 next month

  • its not cancelled u can see it on www.motorola.com

  • To the one who wrote "cancelled", I hope that's for his post and not because Motorola has cancelled this phone. The only thing worse than that is thinking, as I do, that might be a distinct possibility!

  • Cancelled

  • oh great can anyone tell wats the price now , nd is it symbian 9.2 or symbian UIQ ?

  • instead of putting the wi-fi on Z6w...moto should have included it on Z10. so that this phone could really compete with the likes of N82 and samsung G810

  • D*mn !!!!! When will they launch this phone ??? I think I can't wait no more !!! Motorola too slow !!! Published a couple of months ago but still no product recently.... Still considering the price.... Are you pending launching new phones because you are going to be down ??? huuh......

  • For those of you patiently awaiting for this phone or the ROKR E8, I wrote to the people at Motorola and their brilliant answer was: "unfortunately we do not have an estimated time frame for the release of these cellular phones. We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause you." No wonder Motorola is rapidly loosing market share...

  • if only motorola implemented the symbian UIQ os earlier...it could have been a dif'rent story...don't you think?

  • Is it possible to record calls on this phone? Or as wellas on z8 - it's impossible...???

  • Bush-like? I consider it to be Alfa Romeo-like :-)

  • jjsoviet mostly people think motorola is a bush-like company DOHHH

  • Yes, many people nowadays are brainwashed so that they only select phones because of the COMPANY PRESTIGE. Brand names are not all that you know. Even other unknown company can trump another phone from a giant manufacturer.

  • hsdpa faster than stupid wifi

  • Its a big phone with a small 2.2inch screen, Moto should have atleast put a nice 2.4inch screen since people who buy the Z10 want a Multimedia phone to listen to music and watch movies on. And WiFi another missing feature that SHOULD HAVE BEEN THERE

  • when i saw this on youtube at the MWC, it looked quite big but a very goodlooking phone

  • is this really a scratch resistent phone?? it looks good but features are not that good but camera is not bad. i wish this was a better mp3 player.

  • A very strong competitor among 3MP camera phones...even I think its a step ahead among some of its competitors in following manners: 1. Scratch-resistance screen. (My great concern) :) 2. 3 MP camera with xenon flash. 3. Video(QVGA 30fps) 4. Symbian UIQ. 5. Unlimited phone book. 6. 16 million colors. 7. 3G. 8. Seperate processor for multimedia. 9. Strong Battery time. Its time to accept the truth. I self is a big fan of Nokia phones...rather use Nokia phones only. But this Motorola machine made me think over buying this phone. We should not criticize Motorola or Samsung phones for the reason they are not Nokia. Things have changed. Its very kiddy and foolish approach to support phones only cuz of brand. Specially when Nokias phones have been proved to be faulty and waste of moneylike my previous phones e.g. Nokia 6288, N72, 6300 and 5310 Xpress.

  • I have been waiting for the launch of Moto Z10 ever since it was first announced and frankly I am getting a bit tired of waiting. I will wait another month before buying another brand such as Samsung G800

  • This technology is inside Motorola Zine Series like Motorola Z12 and more Motorola Kodak Camera Phone; start produce from Q2,2008. Kodak Revolutionizes Image Capture with New High-Resolution CMOS Image Sensor Industrys First 1.4 Micron, 5 Megapixel, High-ISO CMOS Sensor Combines Two New KODAK Technologies for Better Pictures from a Smaller Sensor ROCHESTER, N.Y., Feb. 4 -- Eastman Kodak Company (NYSE:EK) is enabling a new level of performance in consumer imaging devices by redesigning the basic building blocks used to collect light and is incorporating that technology into a brand-new sensor. The company has combined its recently announced Color Filter Pattern technology with a new CMOS pixel to create the KODAK KAC-05020 Image Sensor, the worlds first 1.4 micron, 5 megapixel device. Designed for mass-consumer camera applications such as mobile phones, Kodaks new sensor enables a new level of resolution in small optical formats, using significantly smaller pixels. But unlike other small-pixel sensors which can produce poor images, especially under low light conditions, the 1.4 micron pixel used in the KAC-05020 Image Sensor changes this convention, providing image quality that can equal or surpass what is available from current devices using larger, 1.75 micron pixel CMOS designs. Camera phones and other small-pixel consumer imaging devices often suffer from poor performance, especially under low light conditions. To manufacture sensors that utilize these very small pixels only two to three times the wavelength of visible light we needed to challenge everything we knew about pixel and sensor design, said Chris McNiffe, General Manager of Kodaks Image Sensor Solutions business. By completely rethinking the design of the CMOS pixel and leveraging our work with high sensitivity color filter patterns and algorithms, Kodak was able to develop this remarkable new sensor that will enable a level of imaging performance previously unavailable from CMOS devices. Key to the performance of this new sensor is the KODAK TRUESENSE CMOS Pixel, a re-engineering of the fundamental design and architecture of traditional CMOS pixels. In a standard CMOS pixel, signal is measured by detecting electrons that are generated when light interacts with the surface of the sensor. As more light strikes the sensor, more electrons are generated, resulting in a higher signal at each pixel. In the KODAK TRUESENSE CMOS Pixel, however, the underlying polarity of the silicon is reversed, so that the absence of electrons is used to detect a signal. This change enabled a series of improvements to the design and structure of the pixel that ultimately results in CMOS imaging performance that rivals that available from CCD image sensors. Light sensitivity in the new sensor is enhanced through the use of the recently announced KODAK TRUESENSE Color Filter Pattern, which adds panchromatic, or clear, pixels to the red, green and blue pixels already on the sensor. Since these pixels are sensitive to all wavelengths of visible light, they collect a significantly higher proportion of the light striking the sensor. This provides a 2x to 4x increase in sensitivity to light (from one to two photographic stops) compared to current sensor designs, improving performance in low light and reducing motion blur in action shots. At 5 million pixels, the KAC-05020 provides the highest resolution available in the popular optical format, and enables imagery up to ISO 3200 and support for full 720p video at 30 fps. The sensor is also supported by the Texas Instruments OMAPTM and OMAP-DM solutions, enabling a host of KODAK Image Processing and Enhancement Features (such as digital image stabilization, rapid auto-focus, red-eye reduction, and facial recognition) that provide digital camera-like performance in a camera phone. For consumers today, high resolution is required but no longer sufficient, said Fas Mosleh, Worldwide Director of CIS Marketing and Business Development for Kodaks Image Sensor Solutions business. Smaller and thinner camera phones, high performance under low light, and superior video performance are the types of features that will enable the next generation of consumer imaging devices. And with this new Kodak sensor, camera designers can now put those features directly into the hands of their customers. The new sensor expands Kodaks portfolio of CMOS and CCD image sensors for consumer and applied imaging applications, and positions the company to take advantage of the growing demand for high-quality image capture in a variety of devices, regardless of size. The KAC-05020 will be demonstrated by Kodak at the GSMA Mobile World Congress held Feb 11 14 in Barcelona, Spain. Samples of the KAC-05020 are scheduled to be available in Q2 2008.

  • This phone is amazing ! Excellent design and performance ! It's very nice ;)

  • it needs : 1 - photo light (led )+ xenon flash like K850 se . 2 - it needs FM + AM radio tunner . 3 - It needs tv tunner (digital & analog like chinees mobile ).

  • why do'nt you put an fm radio in this good mobile phone ?

  • wow look cool

  • "Symbian OS 9.2 Series 60 Version 3.1" To me this statement seems very wrong. I believe that Z10 uses UIQ 3.2 instead of Series 60.

  • this phone have xenon, you can see that on live pictures.

  • Sunday, January 20, 2008 What's on Motorola's agenda? On Jan. 1, Ed Zander officially stepped down as Motorola's (MOT) chief executive, with former Chief Operating Officer Greg Brown taking the reins. According to Gartner (IT), in the third quarter of 2007, Motorola's market share in the handset sector dropped 7.6 percentage points compared with the same period in 2006, relegating the vendor to the No. 3 position, behind Nokia (NOK) and Samsung. The tech giant is clearly wobbling and the changing of the guard raises the question: What role will design play in the company's new era? Will Brown call on Motorola's designers and engineers to try to match the success of the Razr, the iconic product launched during the Zander reign? Clues as to where Motorola may be headed in the next three to five years can be found in an internal document, the Motorola Technology Outlook (MTO), which is initially available only to senior managers in the corporate technology office and business units (it will be posted later on the company's corporate intranet for all 66,000 employees to examine). Compiled annually since 2004, the MTO features trend analysis from the company's Research Visionary Board, an external group of 47 design and technology experts based around the world, and a spectrum of staff members, who identify key trends and concepts in mobile devices, the Internet, and other areas. BusinessWeek received exclusive access to a detailed summary of this year's 20-page document, which has never before been released externally. A jumping-off point The MTO outlines six directions that the company may focus on while planning its new long-term projects. They're meant to be macro-ideas, rather than direct recommendations, and, indeed, this year's trends seem both obvious and abstract. They are: "the immersive Internet," meaning that consumers will be online constantly, including on their handsets; "hosted applications," or standardized software that's available on a Wi-Fi or cell-phone network rather than vendor-specific applications available only on one device; "video rerouted," or TV seen not only on TV but on other platforms; "virtually there," or posting the physical world online in real time via sensors, GPS, and RFID tags; "securing the bits," or making mobile phones safer against hackers and identity thieves; and "stimulating the spectrum," or the emergence of entirely new networks beyond the traditional cellular ones. While some of these seem painfully simple, the report's overseer, Joe Dvorak, technology futurist in Motorola's corporate strategy office, argues that the ways in which trends are applied in research and development within Motorola is complex. And the report does also provide scenarios for theoretical products or potential usages. For instance, the document proposes "snowflake devices"customized gadgets, such as smartphones or handheld computers, that display content specific to a consumer's taste and which feature speech and gesture recognition for a more human "feel." Or mobile handsets with fast-loading interfaces for quicker video downloads. While mere sketches of hypothetical handset applications, these proposals do seem to indicate the beginnings of Motorola's response to Apple's (AAPL) iPhone. Certainly they suggest Motorola is looking to enhance its user interfaces and software, two areas that critics have often pinpointed as needing radical improvement. Focusing on the user experience "It's not a surprise that Motorola is having the problems they're having now, because software and user experience are the real differentiators," says William Clark, an analyst with market researcher Gartner. Indeed, despite initial acclaim for the superslim design of the Razr, which became a must-have accessory soon after its debut in 2004, consumer complaints about the phone's usability soon bubbled to the surface. So did voluble criticism of the phone's user interface for texting and the audibility of calls. A prevailing conclusion? The Razr was a beautiful device housing mediocre software. Clark observes that Motorola's phone portfolio, while often sleek and even featuring unique features such as live TV, lacks a clearly defined "Motorola experience" in terms of brand identity. In addition, he says, by offering so many different styles for so many different market segments, Motorola's brand equity has become diluted to the point of being nearly generic. "The Razr 2, for example, has no soul," he says, adding, "Motorola has become the Acme of phones," a reference to the fictional maker of everything from anvils to birdseed. Motorola seems to be suffering a condition common to many of the old-school tech giants: how to couple their huge engineering or technological know-how with what a user really needs. "The tech part is easy [for Motorola]. The social and human parts are hard. That's the part Motorola has difficulty with, because it's an engineering company," says Don Norman, the author of numerous books on design and user experience (including The Design of Everyday Things) (BusinessWeek.com, 12/5/07), and a professor at Northwestern University, who has served on the Research Visionary Board since its inception five years ago. Clark, meanwhile, points to the company's recently released Crystal Talk technology, featuring two microphones that distinguish between the talker's voice and surrounding noise. It's bleeding-edge tech, and a potential selling point if only Motorola executives can work out how to market it to consumers effectively. And the company has added innovative design elements that might offer a more appealing user experience than even the iPhone: For example, the forthcoming Rokr E8 (an update of the disappointing Rokr MP3 phone that syncs with iTunes) features a flat, iPhone-esque touch screen along with software that offers a sensation of touch when using the digital keypad. And it has FM radio, which the iPhone lacks. Exchange of ideas Another Research Visionary Board member and former Motorola employee, Andy Seybold, who heads a Santa Barbara (Calif.)-based consulting firm, the Andrew Seybold Group, believes the MTO initiative might suggest the company is at last paying attention to its consumers' experiencesand also working on its internal communication. That's also been a big problem for Motorola, which observers say has led to competing mobile products and a lack of overall brand cohesion. "Motorola has always had a problem sharing thoughts and technology across groups," Seybold says. "It's full of fiefdoms, and in the past they didn't cross-pollinate technologies. But the [MTO] document is so full of so many different ideas, it can be seen as one way of cross-group pollination." Motorola's Dvorak emphasizes that the company is working toward synergizing its various departments. "We have a group that looks at consumer intelligence with the goal of analyzing consumer trends [vs. technology trends] in a similar time frame of three to five years, and we are now looking to collaborate more closely," he says. And although the consumer research group doesn't publish a report similar to MTO, an exchange of ideas is occurring, Dvorak concedes, "in an ad hoc way." In other words, the synergy isn't systemized, at least for now. Whether this year's MTO, which seems to address problems that analysts and Motorola insiders are quick to identify with Zander, will spark the design of must-have phones with a distinctive Motorola user experience is yet to be seen. New CEO Brown may decide to ditch the MTO strategy altogetherit's a relic from the previous era, after all. His challenge is to capitalize on the design and technology advances already in place while waiting.

  • Motorola CEO takes charge of troubled handset unit Mon Feb 4, 2008 12:14am EST NEW YORK, Feb 3 (Reuters) - Motorola Inc (MOT.N: Quote, Profile, Research) said its Chief Executive Greg Brown was taking direct control of the company's loss-making handset business, replacing Stu Reed, in a move aimed at helping speed up the unit's recovery. Motorola announced the decision to employees in an internal memo sent on Friday, a day after it announced that it was considering options including a split-off of its mobile unit, which has been losing market share to rivals such as Nokia (NOK1V.HE: Quote, Profile, Research) and Samsung Electronics (005930.KS: Quote, Profile, Research). Reed, who took over as head of the mobile phone unit last Summer, will stay at Motorola and work closely with Brown, spokeswoman Jennifer Erickson said on Sunday. Motorola has been criticized for a weak phone line-up and failing to come up with a strong successor to its Razr phone. The company also faces pressure from activist investor Carl Icahn, who has said he would nominate four directors for Motorola's board this year. Icahn said in a television interview on Friday that he wanted new management for the mobile division. Greg Brown took over as CEO in January, replacing Ed Zander. Motorola on Jan. 23 warned it may lose more market share and post an operating loss this quarter as its cellphone business is taking longer than expected to turn around. It also backed off its forecast for its mobile devices division to return to profitability in 2008. Motorola forecast a first-quarter loss per share from continuing operations of 5-7 cents, before restructuring costs. Analysts had expected a profit of 9 cents per share, according to Reuters Estimates. (Reporting by Sinead Carew; Editing by Jan Dahinten) Reuters 2008 All rights reserved

  • Tuesday, February 5th Moto Z12 photographed, brings touch? Motorola's upcoming ZINE Z12 media phone has been spotted in its first full photo just days ahead of its likely launch, says Czech site iDNES.cz. Already partly uncovered in December, the slider phone is now known to be wider than the Z8 and Z10 it replaces but also sports a very different control scheme: the familiar physical controls appear to have been replaced with touch-sensitive buttons. While no additional information has been released with the snapshot, the Z12 should use a variant on Symbian's UIQ interface and has been previously rumored to come with a 5-megapixel camera (up from 3.2 in the Z10), GPS navigation, and both HSDPA-based 3G as well as Wi-Fi for networking. The screen has also likely been enlarged to as much as 2.8 inches across. Following yesterday's teaser video, the new Motorola phone is most likely to appear at next week's Mobile World Congress in Barcelona and ship towards the middle of this year. Source:

  • come on MOTO ur a giant & no one can stop u.... wakeup MOTO wakeup... its not too late for u, ur d one & only leader in innovative tecno, so plz reconsider ur decision, never give up & we are there wid u

  • Wow, johndru, Pinoy ka pala? Nice! I really hope Motorola would consider its options before jumping into more conclusions. It had already survived numerous problems, controversies, etc. but please do not give up now. The once leader of mobile phones must not be swayed by waves and waves of negative comments about it! Just do your best this year and beyond, finish all of your software issues and crank up those Kodak phones to stay in the game!

  • motorola rules for using a standard usb cable...

  • Can you stop making phones after you release this one? lol...

  • Someone please save Motorola!! There my fav phones, and i dont wana see them having to stop making phones. Motorola are better than any other make of phone! Motorola was the FIRST to bring out the Mobile phone, so why let them fail now? Come on Motorola!!

  • One more good ol' American Company going down the tubes, or bought out by the Chinese. Motorola, SHAME ON YOU!!! You are a giant, keeping the mobile phone division alive financially, means nothing to you. On the other hand, maintaining integrity of the Motorola brand as we all know Motorola to be is extremely valuable. You can absolutely bounce back into the market. Here is your opening statement when one enters motorola.com "Were scientists. Were artists. Most of all, we are a global communications leader, powered by, and driving, seamless mobility. Motorola is revolutionizing broadband, embedded systems and wireless networks bringing cutting-edge technologies into your everyday life, with style" So why are you giving up? why allow another Company to use the prestigious name MOTOROLA. Paul Galvin the founder would be mighty upset at your decision. And for what? just to enhance the already FAT pockets of shareholders. MOOROLA, GET UP AND FIGHT LIKE A MAN!! I'm sure consumers will remain loyal to you and new business will prevail if you maitain the integrity of the brand. Making a merger or aquisition move like the one you're thinking would be the beginning of the end of MOTOROLA!! For example, Daimler/Chrylser, Ford/Jaguar versus BMW. Although MEGA MERGER OFFERS have been suggested, BMW remains ahead of the game because of integrity of the brand. Don't make the mistake!!

  • GOD save the queen!....i mean MOTOROLA

  • Having a phone in your line with a 5MP camera is not the determining factor to the success of your company. Samsung overtook Motorola with a bunch of business phones and attractive slider phones, not N-series like phones. People on gsmarena laugh at the fashion phones, but those are what sell units for some of these companies. The LG Chocolate is no high tech phone, but that was a huge success for LG. The Prada is another over-priced phone that did really well for them. Without those phones the viewty and ks20 would not exist. Fashion phones move units.

  • Motorola dug it's own grave. They rode the success of the RAZR so long, that they didn't focus on any new cutting edges designs, or even the latest technology. They only have, what, ONE phone with a 3.2MP camera, & NONE with a 5MP camera. They are falling waaay behind in the competition. They are capable of making some very good handsets, but yet, have failed to release anything of real substance. Look at the Z8...took ages to be released, & when it is, the Software is very laggy. I bet the Z10 will be an abomination as well, if it ever even sees the light of day. They started on the right path with the RIZR Z6 & the ROKR Z8, but since then nothing has been too special. Then they release the W230 & W270...both of em' don't even have cameras!!!!....What are you guys thinking MOTO?? These days, just about everybody wants some kind of camera in their handset. Even if it just a quality 1.3MP camera, put it in there for Christs sake. They took several steps backwards with these atrocities. They are heading down the same path as Siemens. Siemens had very, very coll designs, but the Software was terrible. I am not a huge fan of Motorola, nevertheless, I would still like to see them in the mobile phone market. You know what you have to do Motorola, it's not that hard. Get some fresh ideas from your R&D team & make an effort. Best of luck Motorola......

  • somebody should save this company...

  • Motorola to Explore Structural and Strategic Realignment of its Businesses to Enhance Shareholder Value

  • 3fps in full resolution of camera!!!! this is great cameraphone!!! i like this MOTO!!!!!!!!! superb

  • So? That's only the rumour from an analyst. I know who gave that's rumour.

  • Motorola to Exit Cellphone Manufacturing! Motorola cellphone industryAccording to Nomura Internationals Richard Windsor, Motorola may be leaving the handset industry to concentrate on being and enterprise and government company. Moto announced a $388 million operating loss last year. According to Windsor, the problem is non-hardware but the software and platform on which Motorola phones operate. Its also unlikely a Chinese outfit will buy out Motorolas handset division as no one has an idea how to bring it up to the time when Moto RAZR ruled.

  • HTC share of Windows Mobile smartphone segment declining Daniel Shen, Taipei; Steve Shen, DIGITIMES [Tuesday 29 January 2008] High Tech Computer (HTC) has lost the title as the global top ranking vendor of Windows Mobile-based smartphones (excluding touch-screen models), with its share of the segment falling to below 30% currently, trailing behind Motorola and Samsung Electronics, according to internal data from Microsoft. Motorola, Samsung and HTC have been competing fiercely in the segment with each vendor accounting for a 20-30% share globally, with Motorola now leading the contest with a small margin, the data showed. Previous data indicated that HTC topped the segment with a market share of over 50% in Microsoft's fiscal 2007 (from July 2006-June 2007). However, HTC still retained the number one title in the Windows Mobile-based PDA phone segment, accounting for nearly a 50% share, according to the same data. Palm was ranked second in the Windows Mobile PDA phone segment with a market share of over 10%, followed by Samsung and Asustek Computer with each accounting for less than a 10% share, the data indicated. HTC is expected to see its share in the Windows Mobile PDA phone segment continue to erode since a number of vendors, including Motorola, Samsung, LG Electronics, Hewlett-Packard (HP), Palm, Asustek, E-Ten Information System and Gigabyte Communications, are all planning to launch touch-screen PDA phones, according to sources in Taiwan's handset industry.

  • Hahaha... Is an analyst always right? Nope... Everything is under control. No need to merger with other company.

  • i wouldn't be surprise if this things happen. it would be best if they would merge with another company like what ericsson did with sony

  • IS this suposed to be true?????????? From the bestselling cellphone in history to the most ignominious departure of a CEO not related to any criminal behavior, Motorola's had a hell of a slide, but still, the latest speculation comes as a punch to the chin. Richard Windsor, an analyst with a firm called Nomura International, says that Moto may exit the handset business. On one hand, it could sell the division to Chinese investors, but on the other hand, not even the Chinese really know how to solve Moto's problems. What happened, Motorola? Seriously, what in hell happened?

  • Motorola Wi-Fi Phone Approved by FCC posted Jul 2, 2004, 2:53 AM The FCC today approved the Motorola CN620, the first phone capable of operating on both mobile and Wi-Fi networks. Although the phone was developed by Motorola's iDEN group, the phone supports only GSM and Wi-Fi networks. Voice calls started on Wi-Fi networks can be handed off to a GSM network. The reverse is possible only for certain types of calls. Features of the phone include a large color main display, an external display, speakerphone, eight-way navigation, and PTT (push-to-talk). Although the prototype approved by the FCC operates only on GSM networks, FCC documents reveal that the final model will support all three major types of Wi-Fi (802.11b, 802.11g, and 802.11a), as well as quad-band GSM. • @Dani And now my question "When Sony Ericsson and Samsung release WiMax Mobile Phone?". This year 2008; Motorola (as the leader of WiMax Phone), BenQ and Nokia will release WiMax Mobile Phone.

  • =============================================== @Dani motorola when are you going to add wi-fi connection to your phones like nokia, se and samsung does? this is the only thing which is keeping me from buying one of your models. other than that, great phones with great reception and signal. ============================================= If you ask Motorola when are you going to add WiFi? The answer is since before Nokia, SE and Samsung has WiFi Mobile Phone. The fact is Motorola MPX 300 (Q1,2004) has WiFi and already in the limited market. Motorola Middle End and High End Product since 2008 will release with WiFi. Motorola Z10 is Motorola 2007 product.

  • it's good for the people like me that have long and sharp nails, because it;s scrath resistant

  • motorola when are you going to add wi-fi connection to your phones like nokia, se and samsung does? this is the only thing which is keeping me from buying one of your models. other than that, great phones with great reception and signal.

  • Long time ago Ed Zander said since around Q2,2007. Motorola will get profit in year 2008; that's mean start from Q1,2008.

  • Moto has faced a bad luck in Q4 2007, they're falling by 34%. I think if moto release Z10 and E8 far earlier, they can save the day.

  • nice phone

  • The Z10 is following in the footsteps of its older brother the Z8. Much fanfare and little substance. I've been looking for this phone because I want to buy it, like I did the Z8 and I still can't find it! What gives Motorola? Are you that anal that you'd talk up another phone and either not deliver it to your customer base or release it with all its blemishes and warts months after the announcement? Aaarrgghhh!

  • hello anyone from motorola! you should start selling the z10

  • I have seen thr road map for motorola. and WOW . this is going to be a moto year

  • Yup... Around Q2,2008 and Q3,2008 Motorola will release Motorola Z12 with 8 Mega Pixel Camera (already conform from T3 Magazine UK). Year 2008, Motorola will release Motorola Phone with 5 Mega Pixel. This year Motorola will release 20 until 30 type of mobile phone.

  • That's nothing Motorola, is coming with great phones to make hard competition. Wait soon the z12 with 8mpx and 5mpx with kodak camera.

  • am i da onli 1 who fnks da pic luks lyke a photoshop???

  • yey! a motorola phone that's up to the nokia challenge...at long last...a phone that i can compare to nokia phones with multimedia processors...PLUS! it only uses a transflash memory card...YEY! can't wait to get one...

  • when will it be released? i hope soon or it will be too late. by the time its released, other mobile brands will have something better again then whats the point. motorola should come up with more high end phones faster to be able to compete in the market.

  • ==================================== @qZ4V The design is cool, but why release a 3.0 megapixel camera in 2008; that would have been nice in 2006. Moto could have atleast added a 4.0 megapixel, especially considering that this is to be their top of the line. ==================================== My question to qZ4V. Why Nokia, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, LG and other brand still produce for coming soon mobile phone 2008 with 1.3 Mega Pixel until 3 Mega Pixel in year 2008?

  • Jpd z10 is far far better than z8 u see just because u have a bad z8 does'nt mean that all z line is bad u will see.....z10 is a far better acqusition than z8

  • i like this phone.. nice one motorola..

  • Well nobody perfect. Nophone perfect. At least among Motorola phone dis one is sure to have the best overall.

  • To that guy that laughed at me and called me a moto hater... Did you read what I put before my saying? I said I assume that the z10 will be a carbon copy of the Z8, not "Durr I played with a not out z10"

  • best motorola...nice look

  • See what I told you? The Z10 is only the calm before the storm. It may be far from perfect in all aspects, but keep in mind that there is NO perfect phone.

  • First UIQ 3.2 product, yep you heard me 3.2! not 3.1 like in Motorola Z8

  • this is very a class phone, it has a 6-8gig inter and can be expand to 32 or higher with 24hour video recording

  • 15-10-2007: This week, Mobile Phone Helpdesk was present at the Christmas Event of The Phone House, at which Motorola showed four new unknown devices at a presentation. These devices have now been confirmed. Door: Willeke de Haas At the "The Phone House Christmas Event" in Amsterdam this week, Mobile Phone Helpdesk made exclusive photos of four unknown Motorolas. After reports from several websites that these devices would be fake, Mobile Phone Helpdesk has researched this and received the confirmation that the four new Motorolas are coming. Motorola is trying to make her way in the telecom market again. A month ago, Motorola surprised the mobile market with her Motorola ROKR E8, which is equipped with a specially developed and unique "Morph technology" that enables the user to change the function of the keys in one blink. Clear segmentation Motorola is planning to divide her devices into sections more clearly than they are doing now and this could make it easier for the consumer to choose a good Motorola. With the "ROKR" series, an already familiar name, Motorola will aim for the music lover. The "RAZR" series will mainly be focussed on the mobile multimedia lover and the business devices will be placed uneer the name "Multi Q / Ming" series. A new section that Motorola added this week is the "Zoom" series, which should compete with the Cybershot series of Sony Ericsson. In Amsterdam this week, Motorola leaked out two devices for the Zoom series, one device for the Multi Q / Ming series and one device for the ROKR series. Fergal Donovan, marketing director of Motorola, presented the newly leaked devices with allure: "The Motorola Skarven will become the new flagship of Motorola. Eight megapixel cameras and optical zoom will be the main points of Motorola in 2008. The Motorola Skarven will be a kick-slider, just as the Motorola RIZR Z8", so says Fergal Donovan. Funny at the presentation was the codename of the Motorola Texel, when questioning this device with Fergal Donovan, he told us the following: "The Motorola Texel is not a name that is chosen regarding our visit to Amsterdam. It is more related to the 'Morph technology' that the device is equipped with." Motorola Skarven The Motorola Skarven could be Motorola's extremely feared multimedia monster. As we can see from the photos of the presentation is that the device will offer an immensely large display at which high-quality photos and videos can be viewed. It could be that the eight megapixel camera, which Fergal Donovan of Motorola's marketing section mentioned as main point for the future, will be integrated into the Motorola Skarven. The Motorola Skarven will be placed in the newly presented "Zoom" section. This new Motorola Flagship could become a good competitor of other megapixel phones. The display will offer 16 millioen colours and will probably be a touchscreen. Motorola X Pixl The Motorola X Pixl will also be placed in the "Zoom" series. This candybar device will be made for the middle section of the market and it will offer a 5 megapixel camera, which will be produced by Kodak. The cooperation between Motorola and Kodak became clear in May this year and the American manufacturer cofirmed the cooperation again this week. Motorola Texel The Motorola Texel will be a real music phone and due to this it will be placed in the "ROKR" section. The Motorola Texel will be equippe with the same "Morpt technology" as the recently announced Motorola ROKR E8, at which nine layers of numbers, letters and symbols are placed on top of each other and can change functions due to this technology. The Motorola Texel has touch-sensitive keys and will be equipped with a 3.5 mm headset jack with which the owner can use his own headset in order to enjoy music. Motorola Genghis For the "Multi Q / Ming" series, Motorola showed her Genghis candybar this week. The Genghis will not focus on the real businessman but more on the messaging addict that wants to type long and quick messages. The Motorola Genghis is characterized by design and colour usage. The appearance of the candybar is quite modern, as is the colour usage. The Motorola Genghis will probably come to the market in several colours, as we have seen earlier with other devices. It is clear that Motorola is busy designing new devices. The quarter of new devices will probably be launched at different moments in 2008 and they will reach the shops at the second quarter of 2008. • ============================================= @Fvkb y dont motorola announce upcoming phone releases? yes ive read rumours that there are 4 new super moto fones coming in 2008 skarven, zine, xpixl and genghis but no news on them on the moto website...i like to anticipate...(",) btw z10 is awesome. ============================================= Is that any rules for all type must on the Motorola Website? Where the rules? Is that all type on the Nokia Website? Is that all type on the Sony Ericsson Website? The fact is you got wrong information about Skarven. Are you read full article? Are you read from original source? Which website you read?

  • I posted this in the Z8 area because I'm SURE that this will be EXACTLY the same as the Z8 besides the camera... Please read it and take it into account before you buy either one. Ok I got excited about this phone back in september when it was released, even went as far to pay 700 for it. It's super nice looking but again, yes texting is difficult especially with the 1 2 and 3 buttons so close to the bottom of the slide, your nails catch the slide. Also you are unable to technically exit a program, they all run in the background cause major ram depletion and often crashes and restarts. Mp3 ringtones... not loud at all even on max volume on my hip case I couldnt hear it in a low noise atmosphere. The battery would also conk out early for some reason... probably the open programs in the background, but even off a start and idle the battery doesnt last longer than 24 hours and would be at full then down to red blinking in a mere hour. I speak of experience with this phone, it looks super nice I like moto but don't get this one... just pass.

  • =============================================== @Fvka this shud be released like months ago...they need to keep up with competitors.. and i read that the future 8mp Zine and 5mp Skarven are fakes...dono.. =============================================== If you said Motorola Skarven fake so you said T3 Magazine UK is liar and Kodak is liar because they release information about Motorola Kodak Phone and Motorola Skarven. T3 Magazine UK is confirm that's Motorola Zine will release year 2008. Nothing too late. You read the future 8 Mega Pixel Camera Motorola Zine and 5 Mega Pixel Camera Motorola Skarven from where? You got wrong information. Hahaha... Motorola Skarven (could be call Motorola Z12) have 8 Mega Pixel Camera and Motorola have other 5 Mega Pixel Camera Phone. Before someone said Motorola Z10 is fake but now Motorola give fact.

  • this shud be released like months ago...they need to keep up with competitors.. and i read that the future 8mp "Zine" and 5mp "Skarven" are fakes...dono..

  • That's right, Moto's got the fastest processors around and they will plan to launch another one with 700 mhz's of pure raw power! It'll run almost anything at half the speed of what other phones can. Take that.

  • =============================================== @mD6Y motorola was going downs so they just edited this features but they wont relase it until 2009 coz they cant produce phones like this. Only SE can do it. ============================================= Motorola has the fastest processor; Motorola Rokr Z6 with 624 Mhz Processor. SE can do it? Which one SE series? Motorola has the second faster processor; Motorola Razr 2 V8 with 500 Mhz Processor. SE can do it? Which one SE series? Motorola has the biggest memory and the strongest signal; Motorola Z8 has 32 Gb external memory + internal memory. SE can do it? Which one SE series? Motorola Kodak have 8 Mega Pixel Camera (Motorola Zine / Motorola with codename Skarven) and in the market in year 2008. How about SE? Which one SE series? I already compare photo of camera between "Motorola Razr 2 V8" with "SE W880". The fact is "Motorola Razr 2 V8" much better than "SE W880".

  • If you want to go for surround sound speakers, go for the ROKR E8.

  • it is UIQ 3.2 not 3.1 please correct it adminstrator

  • yes! atlast motorola Finaly made a SYMBIAN O.S and it is 3.2 megapixel w/ flash some of their brand or few has no flash so the performance lacks can't photo shoot on night but this one i hope its the best one and i hope all the future phones of motorola has the flash camera for better resolution in night mode pls MOTOROLA add some WIFI or WLAN in your phone ...I am a motorola user ever since because i love the "style over Substance" but im also a tech SAVVY theres only missing specs that lacks is the WIFI and Surround Speaker SONY ERICSSON has the best sound to all of the MOBILE PHONE i hope motorola will improve and compete in sound system of the phone

  • Z10 will be available during first quarter of 2008 as mentioned on Motorola's website.

  • motorola was going downs so they just edited this features but they wont relase it until 2009 coz they cant produce phones like this. Only SE can do it.

  • ================================= @bob if this was setup as a multimedia phone why no wlan, surely mobile internet is a multimedia function, so why not add wlan for use in wi-fi spots and cut out the money hungry network. i like it though, want one, just need to know when it released ================================= How important? Is there any type of your own brand have "WLAN"? Is there any multimedia phone of your own brand have "WLAN"? Which brand you belong?

  • Oh yeah! The Z10 is the start of Motorola's rise to power! It will soon be succeeded by the 8 megapixel Skarven...

  • Nice phone. Z8 was crap, I hope they knicked out all the bugs & software nightmares from the previous model. When released, this should NOT cost more than the unmatched N95. If so, why not just get the N95. Right? This time, give us a more reasonable price MOTO, since this is intended for our (the younger) audience. I don't see anyone over 30 having any use for this device, & us college kids are broke as hell. The funding has to come from somewhere... Not us if it's overpriced.

  • i would realy prefer this unit if it has the features like itunes and 3d speaker.im looking forward for this combinations....

  • finally it has fm radio according to Cnet 3.2 mp camera which load in 1.5 second according to motorola

  • just officially announced at CES 2008 expect shipment 1st quarter :)

  • It's capable to operate on 32GB SDHC :)

  • if you want, this phone is n73 competitor

  • Alright, I'm sorry for that. My bad guys. The style over substance thing is still stuck to my mind that I never knew the high end Moto phones can already compete with the big guns Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Samsung and the others. Well, this company is very very new to the high end mobile world that it only caught up late 2007 with the RAZR2, Z6, Z8, Z10, K3, and the others. It just got out of its stagnant "fashion-conscious" mind. The 21st century is still young, only time will tell who will prove the winner. Even though it's a noob at Symbian, maybe it will adjust in a couple of years or so. Its maturing Linux platform is also a good competitor. Goodbye with all those "suckish" Synergy OS days. Z10's only the beginning. Remember its partnership with Kodak? We'll see a darn lot of 5 to 8mp Moto phones this 2008. They might have a slight chance of owning the NSeries camera phones.

  • HOW DARE YOU SAY THAT! You are making excuses for Motorola!! Moto are selling the Z8 and Z10 as MULTIMEDIA DEVICES,these aren't design, these are FUNCTION OVER DESIGN, DIRECT N93 competitor? NAH! The N93 is a camcoder phone it shoots videos at VGA (640x480) res 30fps and features 3x Optical Zoom (moving lense) so NO Z10 is not a N93 competitor, Z8 is a Nokia N81 competitor Z10 is a Nokia N81, and N95 competitor. Remember Motorola bought 50% share in Symbian UIQ from SonyEricsson and so Moto are using Symbian UIQ whereas Nokia use Symbian S60,at the end of the day Symbian S60 stands as the more mature, stable, feature rich, and vast OS.

  • my point exactly jj. if motorola wasnt doing anything to be at the top of their game then probably they wouldn't be using symbian os for z10. meaning that moto is fully aware that symbian is fast becoming the 'universal ' os for mobile phones. and for that, motorola is definitely in the race its just that moto has a lot of pumping up to do

  • So what if it lags behind? It doesn't care about leading the mobile arms race, it cares about providing phones to the masses. The Z10 is already a strict competitor to even the N93. This is Moto's another chance to use the Symbian OS which is the main cause of Nokia's success. If it uses this operating system is used more and more to Moto's phones, the competition is on, you'll see.

  • and i do think tech savvy outnumbered fashionistas hehe

  • style over substance ei? no wonder motorola is lagging behind to its competitor

  • Ok, fine, you got me there with the "all-in-one" talk. Yeesh, Motorola ain't the feature-addict phone company compared to Nokia, SE, Samsung, and the others. Why? Motorola is only dedicated to the design of the phone and its basic functions, not those flashy secondary features that the masses don't even know what the hell they can do. Motorola's philosophy is always been "style over substance", and it would not plan to change that. It targets the fashionistas and the common people, NOT the tech savvy geeks like the others.

  • i love this 'all-in-one' gadget. know why? you'll not be obliged to bring your digicam, laptop, mp3 players like ipod the way you used to. to think that theres a lot of choices in the market nowadays and comes in reasonable prices that would suits you. its a matter of choice, really...

  • Well some of us can afford to buy these feature rich phones, and we do,and i still give back to charity so dont come here with a dam story like that. 2007 has been the year of ALL-ONE MULTIMEDIA DEVICES and they will improve, watch the space.

  • As I have said, the big big problem with an all-in-one device is its security. Sure, you have a super cool phone with more features than a computer but if you lose it or someone stole it, it's a one big big ouch. And also, try to consider the cost effectiveness of such a device. It would be very very expensive, maybe up to the point where a family car is cheaper than the phone. You get it? A lot of people these days are suffering because of war, famine, and poverty...and then some rich people here just buy a feature rich phone but with an insanely high price tag. Take the iPhone for example. The moment it came out, the thing is sold for 600 to 800 bucks! How about a more capable phone, how would it cost? All I can say is an all-in-one device is very impractical despite its capabilities.

  • Motof Uhm. . .no its not.

  • Motorola always satisfies whatever people wants in design side of the cellphone.. This new innovative-style sliders (z8, z10) is that something what you have seen in your sweet dreams, isn't?..

  • TOTALY agree with you, and ye if you want have a little sneak peak at the future of cellphones and mobile technology just look at Japan and see that we are becoming more like them and our cellphones are like the center of our lives. About Symbian, its a great OS, unfortunetly Symbian s60 and UIQ os9.1 has been pretty unstable but os9.2 is great,it offers a lot more stability and functionality with more ram and less battery consumption.

  • All-in-one ============ About that all-in-one multimedia device talk. Music phones these days can put out music just as efficiently as iPod's or other music players. The only downside is storage, but that'll be sorted out in a few months (think of the N95 8GB etc.) Mobile camera's are becoming better and better. Of course they won't ever beat your Canon EOS. They are not meant to. Digital Photography however has evolved to new heights ever since! People are documenting their lives like never before, literally every minute of their lives! Improved communication channels and extended financial services are on the rise with HSDPA and SmartCard technology. The cell phone is becoming your wallet, phone and entertainment unit - and Japan is leading the way of the future as all this is available there RIGHT NOW. And to all those who don't want to see this merge: you can't ever stop technology. Once you get over whatever it is, you'll have a smartphone in no time. Harlekkin

  • It's definitely eye-catching, I just don't know about Symbian OS. I used to own an N73 and it was horribly slow and crashed a lot. I'd rather have WM6 or something the like. At least Windows Media Player is decent compared to the default symbian players around. Sure, hardware matters too. Awesome looks though!

  • thats where motorola is only good at...the design aspects. but if were going to talk about whats inside..the core..definitely motorola has a lot of catching up to do...say compared to nokia...and sony ericsson..and samsung..and LG..and so on and so forth...

  • There are also problems with an "all-in-one" device. You see, phones today are very expensive so there are a lot of people are desperately trying to acquire one...and one of the ways is by stealing. If your phone's unlucky enough to get snatched or stolen, then it's bye bye for your GPS, camera, music player, computer, etc. Also, even the best phones slated for music, camera, etc. are outmatched by their counterparts. So if you still want to get the best features, then go get another brand. If you just want a basic phone with style, then get this.

  • Dude but thats the point of making a phone the ultimate accessory, having each component valid..a good music player...gps so i dont need another devise...and style not like an big gps or another ipod with your phone by the way the phone looks alright but motor's are deceiving

  • Tech's 2 years old, huh? Fyi, Motorola has been focusing on the physical aspects of the phone; it believes that the features are secondary. What's more, the cellphone is originally intended for calling and texting and the others are only complementary. What's the use of a 5 megapixel cam fone when you have a professional camera which certainly has better sensors and better lens? So what if I have GPS and 3G when I already know my way around my neighborhood and I already have a laptop with broadband internet with me? What's the use of a music phone when I have the iPod?????? Come on people, cellphones cannot compare with the real cameras, computers and music players!!!

  • Boff! the specs are two years old in terms of technology! Old video QVGA 30fps video recording! Small 2.2 inches screen...I'm not impressed at all! They should have build a 5MP VGA 30fps video recording + GPS to be more in competition with the best one!

  • finally moto has a phone that position to competes in the market dominated by N82 and K850.

  • should be launch now in india

  • i love the design

  • waiting for this one

  • i think u guys all get wrong, this site is not for you ppl to blame each other, isn't that posting rules already mention that no foul english in this ite,and u ppl already againts the rules, pls be ware that u ppl will be sue by motorola then.each phone will have their own avantage and disavantage,so no need to waisting ur time on argue with this kind of thing.for me rizr z10 is just of one sucessor of z8 an i believed it's will be an greatest phone when in market later.

  • i have own a moto phone before and i would say that its user interface is quite disappointing and not user friendly but you can really rely on its build quality. i hope with the coming of the z10 motorola will gonna be on top of the competition again. especially that z10 has a symbian os. i must admit this handset looks tempting...

  • when is this phone will be release? and how bout rokr e9. i really want back to moto, because sony sucks, and nokia expensive...but motorola product recently sucks. until i heard about some new will be motorola products such this phone or rokr e9. seems motorola get my attention again...cant wait more...

  • Who cares about an FM radio?! All this phone needs more is WiFi and it would be good to go.

  • one of the best phone

  • u can say anything but this design is owesome thats good by motorola

  • This one is a surprise...i was thinking of SE and Nokia or maybe Samsung but then this phone was announced and i decided to wait for it...it is great

  • ============================================= @PSdH Success of this fone depends upon its camera only... if it'll have better one than that of k810,k790,k800i i'd be sure success but not a big hit as motorola is in danger. ============================================= Of course, Motorola always better than "Sony Ericsson". Until now no one single type Sony Ericsson can't beat "Motorola V3 Razr" sold (more than 100 million units). Motorola is in danger? Hahaha... You doesn't know anything about Motorola. ============================================= BUT NO RADIO..... Still a beautiful and very powerful device... ============================================= Is that all type "Sony Ericsson" have "FM Radio"? If yes, so you can said that "No Radio". This "Sony Ericsson" type with "NO RADIO": Sony Ericsson Z320, Sony Ericsson Z250, Sony Ericsson S500, Sony Ericsson W880 (COPY FROM MOTOROLA CANDYBAR SLIM PHONE CONCEPT), Sony Ericsson K200, Sony Ericsson J110 and much more.

  • Success of this fone depends upon its camera only... if it'll have better one than that of k810,k790,k800i i'd be sure success but not a big hit as motorola is in danger. BUT NO RADIO..... Still a beautiful and very powerful device...

  • Nokia & Motorola Lead $100 Billion Cameraphone Market Boston, MA - 21 June 2007 -Strategy Analytics today released its latest camera phone market evaluation, "CMOS Beats CCD in Half-Billion Global Camera Phone Market," which concludes that the installed base of camera phones will exceed One Billion in 2007, as mature market replacement sales above one megapixel and emerging market first digital camera phone purchases (typically VGA) continue to drive sales. Neil Mawston, Associate Director and Chief Mobile Imaging Analyst, commented, "Camera phones have been a huge success, with unit sales rising from three million in 2001 to 500 million last year. As CCD continues to lose the sensor wars in the mobile space, Micron, Omnivision and other CMOS vendors have been the prime beneficiaries." David Kerr, Vice President of the Global Wireless Practice, added, "The camera phone market is now entering its third phase where the focus will move from Megapixel and basic image enablement to the quality of the imaging experience. In North America, and Western Europe, One Megapixel devices are now table stakes, while niche devices with five Megapixels or more will rise to over 2 percent of sales this year. Features such as zoom, flash and autofocus will become critical differentiators in 2008 and beyond." Other key findings: * Global camera phone handset revenues will grow to over $120 Billion by 2011 when one- third of the world population will own a camera phone. * Nokia, although not first to market in this class, is the clear market leader at 28 percent global share, while Motorola also shipped over 100 million units in the last 12 months. * Honorable mention must also go to SEMC, which has raised the user experience bar for camera phones with their Cybershot range, and has outperformed in this category as well as in the music domain. * VGA camera phones' share of the market will fall from 38 percent to under 7 percent over the forecast period. • basically motorola is a style phone not a perfomer its got huge style and no body else can beat motorola for style. any good things need to know from me please do mail me on [email protected]

  • All round a solid phone... It doesn't stand out, but Id get it. I think it has something of everything. As long as the software doesn't bomb out like the Z8 it should be a good seller. Nice looking phone. Dont always need megapixles, just means bigger image which means less space. Software excluded Id give this a 8/10

  • nice phone but still doest rock there is no speacaly think obout this phone it dont have fm inbuilt with so many feature in the phone it make silly

  • Dear Moto please provide the FM option in both Z8 and Z10 and release these models in India as soon as possible.........

  • this will be the best phone ever created by moto. at last, a screen with 16m....and i cant believe it has a xenon flash...please save one for me jejeje

  • come on motorola show the world that u have many 5 mp and 8 mp camera i cant wait for them

  • over all phone is nice

  • I have to say.. motorola makes fairly nice phones.. but if this is one of their top megapixel camera phones.. they aint doing to well in producing good camera phones compared to Nokia, Samsung and SE..

  • should be around 14000 to 15000 rs in india

  • looks is ultimate

  • its a perfect phone for me will available in india i like the design

  • HI' HELLO MOTO in my opinion this will be the best hand set forever its like a dream comes true i am waiting for this . thanks alot

  • good phone i like the design

  • this phone is " burned out !". Its was great . . . . . 6 months ago. God wht do u expect, with the n95, n82 , n81 and probably some new nseries phone but the end of jan out there in the same market ? Its got only one loophole to strike back at nokia. . . price. Well. . . yes, price. Thats it. Go for the neck motorola !

  • good phone with good feature keep it up moto.i like the design should be available in india first .come on moto

  • Motorola! Motorola!! Motorola!!! Please wake up from your slumber. We're almost in 2008 and you still haven't figured out why Nokia, Samsung and now LG is stealing your market shares??? Quit making phones with few stupid features. You guys make great hardware but the features you pack into the hardware are always limited. You made the A780 which I think was a mistake on your part as none of your phones till date pack the features that the A780 posseses. Let me give you a tip... Re-make the A780, call it whatever you like but this time don't take away features. Rather add WLAN, TV outlet, stronger battery, document editor, at least a 3mpx camera, increase the internal memory storage, HSCD function, HSDPA, bluetooth with A2DP should be standard, GPS functionality and a better OS. Do this and see if Nokia, Samsung, LG or even Apple fans won't have a re-think!!

  • Dude seriously not every single person needs WiFi on a phone, there's not a single browser that can use evert single kind of website, so get over it if you don't like Motorola no one is forcing you to look at or to buy one, Personally I like it as long as the keypad space is more then the Z8 I may buy one

  • ye moto come back .be aggrassive and plz annouce ur those 8 mp camera mobile ,z12 , pixel and texel beat the all

  • motorola z10 has the best design and best performance in the world and nokia ,se,samsung are the losers in this war....

  • The design is so beautiful Long life battery Moto go... comeback...

  • sexy phone

  • If its predessor has anything to go by this phone doesnt hold much appeal. Its tiny keyboard makes this phone very frustrating. I trialed the z8 for 3 months and was very dissaponted. i reccommend the SE910. much more reliable

  • Motorola ..Thumbs Up the first phone i like by Motorola !!!!!! its NICE

  • this phone has no wlan when will motorola get it wlan rules in this worldm thats y nokia eatin them alive and even samsung beating them get with it motorola

  • Hey I had that fone, it was great.

  • Hey this phone looks pretty awesome... I'm looking for an upgrade from my E398 (proudly owned for >2 years now and still can't let it go!) with the lights!! But I would also like 3G and definately need a bigger internal memory with A2DP. Special message to that 'Jon2' fella... "Motorola Means Music" (eg. E398) So anyway, wish there is a phone that I could get now just like my E398 also thinner, more memory, 3G..... but not too pricey ")

  • What happened to the 3.5mm audio port?? They have now removed it from the specs. Does it have one or not??

  • I bet the camera sucks just like all Motorola phones! Don't buy Motorola if you are into cameraphones or music phones

  • nice design and feature i m love in it

  • I like this phone. 3.2mp wth xenon flash. but it will take ages to be in Malaysia market. It's too slow, even the Z8 is still not in the market yet. Go motorola!~ capture the market wth faster product development

  • is black the only color available for this RIZR 'elegant' Z10? I ever show it in silver, on the phone article in my country.

  • If it has a secondary camera, its based on the company you get your service from. It'll cost you xtra monthly

  • This phones has the secondary camera, however, can video calls be made on this phones?

  • it's HOT phone, that was so awesome... can u imagine that with future on this rizr. it will be great! two thumbs up for this rizr style n fitur

  • no need for f.m.radio if u have mp3 in it good looking phone

  • plz plz plz compare razr 2 v8 camera and screen colour with nokia 6300 razr 2 has 262 k and 16.7 m colour .u will come know razr is better .plz try this and now this rizr has 16.7 m colour .u can imazine the picture clarity

  • No need for Wifi, the phone has HSDPA. Havent seen a place where this is Wifi and no HSDPA. For home use, use Bluetooth internet over the PC.

  • first motorola 3.2 m.p camera camera will be more clear than nokia 5.0 m.p

  • i love this phone 16.7 m colurs love it

  • it only need's WIFI!!

  • is it touchscreen?

  • rizr 10 has good feature u should buy it should in the range of 12000 to 14000 in india

  • good phone i really love the design and features

  • Scratch-resistant display = NOT cheap material. Dream phone :-)

  • i m satisfeid that nokia use cheap materials.nice phone with good features

  • It has evrything dats reqd, but only a simple FM Radio tht is missin ud hav made it more amazing..

  • @avi: Nokia use cheap materials not Motorola!

  • motorola plz launch it here in india as soon as possible

  • This phone will probobly have cheap matirials and still cost atleast 500$+. bad interface, cheap matirials, but looks SEX. but its like the 8800, beautiful looks, for nothing. Sept this is like cparry matirials unlike the glass n steal from the nokia.

  • may i know how much it is expandable. should be come with pendant blue tooth or f.m.radio

  • This phone does have FM.

  • ben voda, make up your mind...or at least some sense

  • its not a bad phone and finely they bad a good camera =]

  • big deficiency! no FM?!?

  • all is cool, seems the perfect phone, except why no wi-fi? is top notch for everything bar that, including a proper symbian interface.

  • nics phone

  • motorola u should launch it in india in prize range of 14000 rs !!!!!!!! i m waiting

  • this guna be great. i cant wait for it. bad layout. bad software its a motorola! bad buttons its guna be amazing!!!!

  • its of world class no doubt its rocking

  • Im not all that big on phones but his phones looks damn impressive. Does anyone know when it will be launching in the U.S and with what carrier? thanks.

  • This phone's processor speed is 330MHz.

  • i thing this has good camera than nokia n95 ...because razr 2 has 2 mp and its better than nokia n73m 3.2 mp. camera (carl zeiss lens )

  • whatttt!! february 2008. i'll go for w960 coz cant wait all that time

  • Every thing is fine but it should have larger screen and a scroll key.

  • A very nice phone indeed, but,Motorola designers should start thinkink about changing the nav/jog wheel design. It looks rather unsofisticated and flat regarding the rest of the phone.IMO,do something like Philips on their Xenium range...

  • @Dan: may be you had just bad luck. I had several devices from motorola and was always happy with it!

  • i had he z8 and to be totally honest it is the worst phone i have ever had in my life it has a shoody camera and turns itself off at random i would never have a motorola again in my life

  • I heard this mobile will be launched by end of February 2008 :( I will wait for it!

  • No WiFi? N95 is still better!

  • MmMmMm... This phone is smexie... I wonder if it comes in pink, or orange what about brown?

  • this is not a camera phone . its more an all in one phone. Cant wait for it

  • what a design really make me crazy ...battery of up to 1000 mah means nice battery back up ....should be launch earlier

  • seems a good phone but lacks a few features that could make it special including wi fi, optical zoom, slightly better optics and although the video capabilities are 30fps its still QVGA and lacks the VGA quality of phones like the n95 on the top line

  • fps = 30 !! its beter than all phones even than w960

  • should be launch earlier ...i wanna buy

  • Its good. Wait there is another phone in line the moto rizr z9 which will most probably launched during christmas time....very sleek and nice features

  • i am excited with this phone

  • this motorolla handset looks really nice to all the other motorola rubish handsets this one has got good features nice slim body and looks responsible

  • Fantastic! This will be my next mobile.

  • Until gsmarena finally gets around to updating this page, I found another site with specs including dimensions (115 x 53 x 10.6 mm, 60 cc): 16M display, 3MP with xenon and autofocus, 3.5mm jack...all in a 10.6mm thin package? drat, just when I thought i was decided on the Nokia 6500 slider! decisions, decisions...

  • It's great! Why Symbian instead of Linux?

  • I hope motorola will combine OS and RAZR or KRZR series phones. That would be really great.

  • Motorola, Please release this phone soon. After read w960 preview. i turn my self to this phone. Please. im bored with my w850.....the video and camera sucks....and i need OS phone

  • is this for real? 3.2 mp cam on a moto? this rockz!

  • first time i heard, motorola using symbian OS, good job ? Many kind of motorola model have linux operating system...

  • Wow! Thats all I can say. I am not a Moto fan but this is a great looking phone... and it has the specs to match those looks. It shows what made Motorola the pioneer it was, and exactly what it can do when its back is against a wall. Congrats.

  • make me crazy

  • 3.2 mp is enough for me. Whats the need of high resolution camera? its still not beat digital camera.... what i concern is just the battery. hope the battery wou'nt drop fastly. i hate charging.

  • i normally am not that keen on motorolas, because some of them are quite big, but this one looks gorgeous. However, it would be so cool if there was a 8 megapixel camera

  • Honestly, why did motorola have to come up with exactly identical phone with Z8 with just 1mp better camera. Rest everything is just the same. have they solved the problem of getting dead/hanged repeatedly? This is also considering the fact that world is already on 5mp camera in cell phones. I love motorola but things needs to change real soon. we need models which can be distinctly identified from one another!! what is motorola's answer to Nokia N95 and Sony W960i??? whic hare released long back.....

  • Since this was supposed to be the Motorola's multimedia flagship phone, the RAM should be at least 96Mb or even 128Mb like N958Gb. because i've got some news from rizr z8 users that programs tend to crash or slow downs. this was caused by RAM shortage given the Z8's minuscule 50Mb RAM fixed :(

  • Manze that phone is super cool i wonder wen u guys will avail it so that i can floss with it in da hood!

  • STILL no dimensions available?? come on...

  • motorola rocks but unfortunately i must admit that those four rumoured phones expecially the 8 megapixel "SKARVEN" is a fake but hey it does sound kool

  • Grant.... I couldn't agree more. Moto has been a bit stagnant lately, then they release a nice phone & people get all bent out of shape over a freakin' FM radio?? C'mon....have you people never heard of sacrifice??

  • I think that the main difference between the z8 and z10 is just the 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus, never expected that from Motorola. But how could you say this phone is better than the k800? That came out it FEB 2006, this is like coming out maybe 2008. Sony Ericsson beats Motorola anyday, and Nokia is good, they just can't get a good design.

  • those 4 rumoured phones are a fake reading it up on boy genius report though we should be expecting a 5megapixel from motorola and kodak soon in their 2008 line up

  • @Motorola prepares 8m, If ti's really true, im' impressed =O

  • Gsmhelpdesk.nl has posted information on four phones, which according to them will be part of the 2008 product line of Motorola. We are rather skeptical about it, but will post this information. All phones are with code-names, which is typical considering there is lots of time until they are released. Motorola SKARVEN is 8-megapixel cameraphone with optical zoom and 2.8 inch, 16 million color display. Similar to the Z8, it uses the kick-slide form-factor but judging from the blurry image, we guess it will also have touch-sensitive buttons. If this information is right, it will be one of the most advanced Motorola phones. advertisment: Motorola TEXEL Motorola GENGHIS Motorola X PIXL is rumored to be the first phone, launched in cooperation with Kodak. A 5-megapixel candybar, it is also targeted as dedicated cameraphone and as rival to the Sony Ericsson K850 and other models from the class. Rumors say it will be available as the Motorola Z12. The third new phone is the Motorola TEXEL which is targeted to the music fans. Similar to the E8, it has multilayered keyboard (nine layers of characters) with morph technology. This means that each key can display (and respectively execute) nine different functions. Motorola GENGHIS is the last phone that the site scooped. It is QWERTY-equipped phone for the masses. Considering the Q-family, it may run on WM6 Standard OS but still this is definitely not sure. According to the site, Motorola will keep the ROKR branding for its music-dedicated phones, but will start other families: ZOOM for advanced cameraphones and MULTI Q for the Q-like devices that have business-oriented functionality

  • but motorola really blew me away this time, they came out consistently for 6 months with vga and 2 mp cameras and bam 3.2 mp and xenon wow and really good features too. this beats se k800 and nokia n73 in my opinion. i have n73 and it isnt that good

  • I cannot believe that people considering buying such a high tech fone would actually be pissed off bout a stupid fm radio, i mean get real...

  • hey does anyone know the dimensions of the phone? will they be the same as the rizr z8? also does anyone know about the rumord 32gb microSDHC(for the rizr z8)? oh and the price for this phone will probably be 400 thanks ez

  • wow, people still using radio?

  • I really love this phone. I can't wait until it reaches Aruba. Waw, I'll buy it for sure. Doesn't matter the price. Thanks MOTO

  • hmmmmm .... 2SVg

  • i like this.....wonder how much it'll cost. other users, if u dun like the radio, dun use it, if there's no wifi, get a lap top! if u need a phone to cater to all ur own needs, make your own if ur that picky

  • yeah why always go with phones with fm radios on it??? too much usage of the phone will just deteriorate the battery's life span cellphone is for calling radio is for listening to music buy the right item for the right purpose a cp will never be a radio

  • hey......... the z8 never launched, the z10 is launched ??????????

  • OMG PEOPLE! let's stop talking about that f@#$% radio! (well, i must admit that this could be a good deal..) but the phone have some amazing specs! see the good side of the things "

  • Ill take that over that ugly 18 any day.

  • no wifi again! =[

  • OMG!! i just love this phone... since the past 6 months i;ve been waiting for a slide/flip hp wth 3.2mp and xenon flash. none was matching that except this..cant wait to buy it!! faster produce it!!!

  • is video quality as good as n95? can u browse internet as fast as n95? if u can then moto is better than n95

  • can any tell me plz is motorola going to give f.m.radio feature in its every handset from next year means 2008

  • the back side of this phone with flip closed reminds me of motorola E1120.

  • Bravo Moto!! .. better battery .. lighter weight .. and better features .. :) Maybe I will use moto and return to SE in Q3 2008 or 2009

  • Wow..xenon flash?! Moto always does this, they make crappy phones and suddenly every once in a while they come up with some Nokia and SE killer

  • !!!!!! wow this is a mobile or a mericall i wanna ask u if this mobile will b in egypt soon

  • guys i wanna ask u about this phone in the future what shall we do when they produce z100 and nokia n 1000 what shall we do???? the technolgey is my life

  • motorola phones are finally getting better. not as good as nokia in terms of features just yet but they're improving

  • People i have a question-have you ever heard about a handsfree with a built-in radio?

  • it needs an fm radio.. definitely.

  • radio???????????????????????????? mottoo........:(

  • why the hell you need a stupid old FM Radio in this phone ? it has an stereo mp3 player , memory card slot and HSDPA.

  • wow yea u guys rite, it has everything n is all state of the art. 1st moto to compete wit nokxx or soxx exxxxxxx. wonder wat its price like?

  • In the back side of the phone (when you enlarge the photo) it says "cobrand" What does it means?

  • people still want f.m radio in mobile they don thing for better technology .people say i don buy a phone without f.m radio .then plz go for classic 702 or heir handsets .or plz buy a new f.m radio device in 50 indian bucks

  • no radio again....

  • is all this truth? amazing love moto

  • i think all the features are gud, bt cant understand y r dey nt adding the fm feature in ne of the phones... fm, i thnk is a must feature...but newaz gud its having 3.15mp camera and also a gud design and stil jst 100g in wt...gr8.. m lukin fwd 4 it..

  • all these features and it only 100g heavy? thats what i call coool!!!!!!

  • This phone has everything i want, shame it looks horrible, can't stand the design!

  • why the hell you need a stupid old FM Radio in this phone ? it has an stereo mp3 player , memory card slot and HSDPA.

  • ...its true with radio u can listen to song's news and so on...but if thts all u're using it for wats the point!!! music u can get it on the net anytime anywhere wif the GPRS,3g,HSDPA which this phone has...this is including news coverage...wats the use of all this high end functionality for if u still wanna use radio to get ur info's??? but even so its also true without the radio function...i'll probally miss those DJ's....and their funny talks...lol

  • does it play louder than the z3

  • wow, people still listening to radio? amazing

  • I still seriously think there is no need for a radio on a phone. You already got just about evrything else, so really, a radio? Yes it can be entertaining, but I don't think there is a must for one.

  • finally motorola release a phone with 3.15Mpx camera

  • FM Radio is useful if you like a lot of music, or you want to hear the news, sports etc. I would never buy a phone without one, it keeps me entertained. Why do Moto put radios in their entry-level handsets and not their good ones? They are confusing...anyway, this phone is pretty decent and nice looking, but yes it does need a radio

  • why this superb phone doesn't come with FM radio???? useless!!!!

  • Freakin prices for the phone is effin crazy if you asked me. Yeah, going to be awhile before I get the money for this one. Ha ha. Wow...radio...who the fizzle wants a radio on a phone? How lame if you asked me.

  • As far as the camera is concerned moto are far behind. Other manufacturers have already released 5MP cams. Motorola have not even a released a 3mp LOL. Does any one know that in which resolution does it record videos ?

  • Fm Radio... Flash as a Light... What do u want ppl!? An stereo or a flashlight! For God's sake is a phone that also happens to be a very good one. Dun even start talkin about SE or Nokia. For the boy who said about the lack of radio... Do u wanna listen what other ppl wants or what u really like?! Mp3 music is jus what u like... Fm Radio is what other ppl likes. An for the boy who ask about a light: get a Nokia 1101 or a flashlight. Pz!

  • wow finally a non 2 mp camera for moto! yay

  • oh, one more thing. can the flash be used as a light?

  • its stupid how people are complaining about not having a radio in a phone. Its totally useless. the media is all around you...

  • no radio in moto i will never buy it

  • i hope it will not have same problems freezing as the Z8..allthought i loved the Z8 design and color...full black with dark menu would be the best and stylish.

  • I wish they would perfect the Z8 before bringing in another model. I think I'll pass on this one.

  • well it is a strange UIQ phone S60 UIQ 3.1? is this a kind of hybrid?

  • Obviously the beta test phone will be Sh*t. That's why it's a beta release. Anyway, this is one of the few UIQ Symbian phones coming from Motorola. Give them a little time and they'll master it.

  • well, the proto of k850i was a mess:P and this one won't be a mess when it will be released

  • Does anybody konw if it will have the same build quality as the Z6? Will it be made of cheap plastic, or will it have some metal & glass to it? I hate phones riddled with plastic. If it's built like the Z6....it'll be a winner.

  • according to the review of the beta version of Z10 : the camera quality is only as good as SE K750I but the camera lags heaps regardless of what pixel you choose, especially xenon is somewhat useless as you can't tell the difference when xenon isn't turned and pic is taken at night. the system lags and hangs every 5mins or so. compatiblity with symbian soft is horrible that it doesn't even install MOTO softwares. The expected price at launch 659-699 depending on the packaging.

  • google said it's gonna be released in october, does anyone know the specific date? i wanna know. This is my next buy and who knows maybe my last.

  • so where is the E7 5Megapixel?

  • Wow Motorola goes Symbian and 3.1mp that is amazing finally they are getting out of stupid RAZR crap now all they miss is FM Radio

  • S60?

  • WAW! Autofocus from Motorola... something unbelievable;-)

  • $700, where do you get that from? thats impossible then starting price for the iphone wasnt even that much. it will be less than the ROKR E8 because the rokr came our with the iphone, thye were partners in making it (apple helped moto) anyone know what the real price of this is? and is everything touch except the screen?

  • nice design, nice features, but... where is the fm radio!! come on moto!!

  • most likely will cost around $700

  • just want to know the price of this phone, seems like a very kool phone.

  • guys anyone knows anything about release date of this master piece

  • when is the launch going to happen in india. Wooh! i dying to buy the phone. looks to be great slider from motorola

  • Looks sweet! I'd definitely get this if it was on sale now...

  • I'm really impressed. You get a 1030mAh battery in only a 100g phone. I wonder what they did to shake some weight? It looks better (no green), and it has a auto-focus camera module (which I hope is from KODAK) AT 3.15MP. Just hope it doesn't have the same software issues as what has been reported on the z8.

  • In the US, the carriers force you into a data plan therefore you will pay for the data regardless if you use the network or not. For example, if you want the iphone in the US, it is required to pay for the unlimited data plan $20 per month. The iphone is not even 3G so you don't get anything for your money. I guess it makes sense to have wifi in other parts of the world where you actually save money by using it.

  • It has no radio! We have not find a complete phone still now. 1 has wi-fi but no 3g or no wlan. Or 1 has no better camera or symbian. What's going on???

  • Yeah but sometimes its easier just connecting to the WLAN. Less money spent right? I mean we're not all rich?

  • don't need wifi...you get 3G

  • everyone slates motorola, all i can say i have had many phones of all makes and moto's have a lot less software issues unlike some of the more popular phones. this one looks better than the z8 and i really do want that one. now i am spoilt for choice.

  • its about time u guys drop a 3mp camera, but theres no wifi still gotta catch up

  • the worst nightmare of Motorola: radio FM in well-featured phone... "OS, autofocus & radio" all in one still unreachable

  • omg best fon ever, only lacks vga video, touchscreen, and wifi

  • finally a motorola 3mp cameraphone!!!

  • Come on group-this is an slightly upgraded z8-what's all the commotion about?

  • Amit - take a look at their ROKR series (except for ROKR Z6 - which I personally think that this should belong to the RIZR series) and SLVR L9. they have FM radio function.

  • Anyone know which two bands for HSDPA this phone supports? Hopefully 850!

  • FM Radio is garbage now, listen to HSDPA Radio! *PS, if you want a radio, go visit the dollar store.

  • i like the style of this phone but true is very thick but maybe by the tim eit comes out in aus thick might be the new thin!

  • Why Motorola Not Prividing FM In Their Latest Phones??It's Must Now A Days. They Should Think Seriously Abt This.R They Listening????

  • wooow 1st decent motorola phone... (nokia inside) :P

  • the specs are good, but isn't it to thick? damn moto, you used to be expert in the slimness phone. now you are folowing nokia, producing bulky phone...yeah, maybe performance and design still cannot working together. we must sacrifice one of them...

  • Motorolas version of a SE k800 LoL!! Doesnt look bad.. hopefully it doesnt perform bad either, might just as well be my next phone.

  • wow motorola very first cameraphone with autofocus hope the camera quality is very good

  • i love this phone

  • This is the ugliest phone motorola has ever done its to thick and wide. We want phones to be slim like the V8 & V9.

  • This phone looks SICK!! i'm not a big moto fan at all, but i might have to pick this phone up. i just ordered the sirocco, and this will come out just in time for a fresh feel.

  • Great looking phone with some nice specs mized with a great form factor. True, there are a lot of comments about Nokia being the best but they are never anywhere near as sexy as motos. My only gripe with this phone is the bulge in the camera on the back! Why the bulge motorola? Sony ericsson has a 5 mp without a bulge, so can you! This phone isn't that slim either!

  • i think its to early to talk about z10,cuz z8 is just released after long time.maybe it takes 2 years to release z10 moto!!!!!

  • dysplay of 16m is not so different of what of 256k it is?..please reply. very good this cel more I still am more SE or the Nokia.

  • oh boi, damn, i wish i can get my hands on this beauty, kudos to the moto for upgraded the camera specs and processor. i wish someone had the heart to provide with one for christmas, lol. keep up the good work.

  • Finally! Motorola pulled their finger out and made something decent! Symbian OS - awesome! 3.15 Mpx - we'll see! Xenon flash - where?! Good design - oh yes! Now let's just hope it's not too overpriced! Harlekkin

  • i thought i was gonna get the E8... but here comes this phone. now i want this. oh santa i have been real good this year. me wants this telephone....hope it will be available before the year ends...

  • I am sooo getting this phone! Anyone have any idea on its release date?

  • i Thought that moto was dead... yeah, i'ts a bit too late, but i like this phone =D i'm a Se fan, and do not like moto b'cause they're too late in hardware, they focueses too much in design but this phone is good ^^

  • Finally Moto comes out with some new phones. the z10 seems to be the same as the z8 except for the camera. Looks nice though...

  • I think it is a gret phone : 1- great design 2- great features if they only let the camera 5 MP it wiuld be greater, but 3.1 MP is not bad at all :)

  • @ Last Motorola ,16M TFT Color ,3.15MP camera with autofocus....it's strange from Moto.......but it's the best for me what ever it's

  • WLAN would be nice but not really needed with 3G. You get faster speeds with 3G than with WLAN.

  • Finally a phone almost worth getting from motorola. just gotta get that wlan in there

  • much better than nokia phones

  • Just when I thought I'd never buy another motorola, they seduce with their sexy looks. Wonder if its real though, those pics looked abit like airbrushed (or maybe its silicon implants :-) Oh well, the only way to tell for sure is to touch it. And yes, like a prev post stated, fm radio would be nice

  • Nice to see the green stripes are gone. I did not mind the green so much but most people did. If Moto is smart, they will ship this in the US. I would like to get one, otherwise I am forced to buy their competitor phone.

  • Motorolas first phone ever with camera better than 2 megapixels (and years too late...). Hope Motorola will learn how to release phones in the northern Europe because we always wait a couple of years for Motorolas phones here...

  • I just hope the internal problems are ok, unlike the z3 and z6 which both have a lot of troubles...this one should be better

  • 1. sony ericsson w960 2.Motorola RIZR Z10 3. nokia 5610

  • Moto with 3mp.... quite promising

  • Great looking phone.

  • ne1 knws wen it mite cm to india??? plz email at [email protected] man.....i so badly want this phone.....its like a sleeker version of my stupid old n80~

  • Pretty good. But still away from Nokia phones.

  • i'm a SE fan.. but i'll not rate low :P the specs say xenon flash!!! i think it's a mistake right??

  • It is Symbian UIQ, not Series 60

  • revised Z8 should be mucho improved.

  • motorola is no1!

  • Moto rocks as usual.. nice phone

  • Looks very promising.

  • pleas if you are a nokia or se fan dont rate it low. Its a great phone and it deserves 10/10. LETS BE FAIR

  • Motorola RIZR Z10 Good Phone but it have no infrared port

  • damn it. i was waiting for this phone , i like it so much and cant wait for it :P

  • wow, 3.5mm jack. 3.2 mpx, Xenon flash wow wow wow.. Nice music solution and video solution

  • WowOWowOW MotoRola Camera 3.15 MP MP3/AAC/AAC+ player slider design very gooood

  • specs almost exactly the same as RIZR Z8 + 3.15MP cam with autofocus. A '+ FM Radio' could have been better.

  • maybe the best motorola ever

  • ho ho ho this is amazing that motorola has launched their phone with 3.15 mp camera and 3.5mm headset jack.i think this fone will be a equal compeitetor for the SE PHONES & NOKIA musiceditions.but still it doesnt have fm radio it is somewhat bad. thank u mototrola

  • My next phone!

  • the design is so breath stopping for a moment ..
