Nokia 1 - User Reviews

  • Battery life is pathetic and the phones upper back body heats up like microwave and feels like it would blast off Every function from surfing to gaming lags a lot totally fed up Never buy this price of garbage Better buy a second hand mi phone then this crap.

  • Problem to unlock

  • Received the Pie patch and Google security update today. It's seems like the issue's are resolved. Well done HMD :)

  • I got a problem of browsing to sites with my phone NOKIA 1. It can share and receive wi-fi services for it to perform internet services. But I wonder why it is impossible to do so using its mobile data. It write messages like; This site can't be reached ................took so long to respond. Try: Checking the connection ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT Reload Please I need your help on this so that I can continue using my mobile data via my phone!

  • What I did was stop Play Store doing automatic updates. So, no broken updates affect me. I did that just after Pie when I realized someone effed up. So, my phone's (2 of them) Nokia 1 both work great. The ONLY issue I have is the unlock bug that everyone is moaning about. HMD either don't have the expertise or the will to fix this bug. I dunno. The Nokia1 is a really strong, sturdy, reliable phone. It's not fast but it gets the job done. Call clarity is amazing. Internet surfing is quick. It's a really nice phone. It won't drop you in the crap. Ever. I'm so in love with my Nokia1's I would happily buy another 2. Wake up HMD. Don't destroy a brand. Nokia is legend. Continue building it

  • Nothing wrong with the phone... it's brilliant. HMD is screwing Nokia's name up.

  • Sad this phone has been discontinued in Pakistan

  • Yes, it also happens with me.

  • This is a known problem that HMD is not bothering to even try and fix. GRRRRR

  • Anyone else having the problem with this phone where it sometimes won't let you unlock even when using the correct unlock pattern? Started after updating to Android 9, and happens exactly once a day. You have to restart the phone and then unlock. Very frustrating that the phone makes a loud sound while starting up that cannot be muted... Also it's no longer vibrating when I get a text, even when set to vibrate... Such a shame because I really like the phone otherwise...

  • My phone battery draining and phone heating

  • Didn't face battery problem. Using for 2 months now

  • No

  • I've had no heating problems so far.

  • Can someone please tell whether this phone has an overheating problem? According to some people this phone gets smoking hot from the top side of screen upon receiving call. Have any one faced this problem? Kindly reply. I am going to buy this phone this week.

  • Anyone faced Battery draining problems.. Have a new Handset, Battery lasts just for an hr or so. Going to try upgrade the software to see if it helps.

  • Nokia 1 is just a good idea

  • Please how do I know if my Nokia 1 is genuine or not Thanks

  • If the phone is original you should not have this problem. In the beginning the sound was a bit ... as you said ,,robotic,, and metallic to me, but a month later the problem fade away. So, do not worry - soon all of the small irritating things will gone! And with a good headphones the music player is great, by the way...

  • Bought one a couple of weeks ago FaceTime sound is squealing slot and robotic sound on the voice

  • Nope, I don't believe it is. Remember this is a true BUDGET phone. What it does do it does extremely well. I'm still very happy with my Nokia 1. I've had mine for 4 Months now.

  • Someone ???? is this feature avaliable?

  • Are you sure you're Nokia 1 is a genuine Nokia and not a fake ? As far as I know all Nokia 1 have received the Pie update.

  • Nokia 1 pie go update i can't get it on my Nokia 1 I need help

  • There are 2 nano SIM slots, and a separate micro SD slot.

  • someone plz answer??? Has web text feature on texting setting??

  • Does it take a nano sim or micro sim or both???????

  • Nope not had that problem yet. That's really strange.

  • ghost touch means the screen works without touching the screen.the touch panel works automatically for a certain time and then works fine.

  • Nope. What is ghost touch?

  • Did anyone face ghost touch while using Nokia 1?

  • Not fast. Solid communication phone. Rugged. Built better than the others out there.

  • Same problem here, my Nokia 1 seems to forget my pattern until I restart it....

  • my Nokia 1 shut it self down and i on it back it does not respond,i charge it but it does not display charging indicator and instead of charging when i plug it,it become overheating, please what can i do.

  • The pattern problem is new. It's happened to me a few times too if I swipe too fast. It has to do with Pie and not a Play Store automatic update problem. If you restart the phone all is ok. I'm eagerly awaiting the Pie patch for Nokia 1.

  • Yes. Same happening with me

  • In reply to my own post, all is working 100% still. Fast, not eating the battery anymore. It's like Oreo but much, much better with Pie. Do what I did. 1. Do a Factory Reset 2. Immediately disable Play Store automatic updates. Go to Play Store. Check settings there. Tell it to turn Automatic Updates OFF. 3. Sit and smile like me now. It's that easy. Now I will wait until things are fixed. Cause I've zero bugs to complain about now. I will wait until the update where these issues are addressed. In the meantime I'm happy again. Best little cheap phone that you can buy. Nothing can touch a Nokia 1. Tough, Dependable, Clear with voice calls etc. An absolute Gem.

  • I did a Factory Reset yesterday. Immediately disabled play store from installing automatic updates. No interference. I've got no more battery drain or other issues. Suddenly my phone is running better than before. There is some app that play store automatically updated that caused all the crap.... AFTER Pie was working well. It's not Pie. It's Play Store.

  • Anyone else experiencing the pattern suddenly not working until reboot and every foreground and background apps all of a sudden closing since the July 2019 security patch?

  • Hi there. It's probably got something to do with Pie...since I updated to Pie from Oreo I've got weird things happening too. Wierd bugs... let's hope it gets sorted with the next update.

  • It keeps forgetting my pattern

  • I got it few months ago in Ireland vodafone in special price 40 euro, phone is brilliant battery ok performance ok screen ok but don't aspect run heavy games or app it's phone from low shelf, plus if you turn off standard apps as a developer this phone run smoothly as never.

  • Cheap, though, good battery life, loud ear sound and DUAL SIM support many 4G Bands.. And You've got Android Pie and many updates.. ^_^

  • I agree... I've just bought Nokia 1. Battery durance is almost sufficent to use variation apps on it. My offer's to get

  • You're a bit late.... I've 2 Nokia 1 phones and I love them. I need my phone's to be tough. Nokia 1 is tough....Redmi Go won't last a day in the environment I work in.

  • I suggest you xiaomi redmi Go instead of nokia 1. You will be able to use the sufficent characteristics of this phone.

  • Agreed...The battery power is amazing and I use Skype lite on this phone. Definitely giving 5 stars for battery endurance.

  • I recently purchased the Nokia 1 and it is great for the price. It is definitely a budget phone. I am totally in love with how smooth it operates. I am totally impressed with the battery as it lasts really long and I'm mainly on my phone whole day. I downloaded the Hermit app on the play store so I can have lite versions of some Apps like Facebook, Instagram, Amazon, GSMArena without having to literally install them to take up any space on my internal. The camera isn't the best but not the worst either. I make it work for me just make sure to take pics in good lifhting.... Best Budget phone ever.

  • The Redmi Go might be slightly faster than the Nokia 1..... but it fails spectacularly with the bend test. Be very gentle with the Redmi :

  • choose Xiaomi Redmi Go. . same price range. but so much better than Nokia 1 in every aspect. especially the battery.

  • Does this work with it?? someone answer please.

  • Yeah they've really messed up the default launcher (Launcher3) in that update. I swapped to another similar launcher (Lawnchair on f-droid) and the widgets became available again, can't recall if its all of them since I only used the calendar schedule myself. Another thing that is behaving odd since that update is the auto brightness, if you are reading this Nokia update maintainer(s) please put in a reset option for the auto brightness "learning" so it can unlearn your preferences and behave as default. Thanks.

  • June 2019 update removed all the widgets on the home screen and from the add option too. Only few of them are available. Does anyone have a fix for this? Thank you.

  • After recent google security patch update, phone seems to hang sometimes and security pin does not work at times.

  • Just got July security patch. This phone is reliable.

  • Very Good Battry Endurance

  • Nokia 1 is selling FAST here in SA. Word travels fast. It's an absolute gem. Not made to impress. Made to just do stuff and do it properly. I've never been happier with a purchase. I can't stop smiling.

  • Malaysia still havent received the android pie update for nokia 1.

  • Did pie update bring web messaging for messages?

  • Did pie update bring web messaging for messages?

  • This is in some ways better than the Galaxy S3.

  • in my country malaysia is funny. buying(original) online is cheaper at RM219+delivery but at nokia store & other shops sell at RM299. i have questions. i need it for hotspot and basic stuff: 1. my old 4 inch huawei has 1790mah. after hotspot office for 6 hrs and basic stuff, the battery from 100% lasted 9am to 5pm only. 2. my zte 5 inch has 2700mah lasted 9am to 11pm 3. i wonder how long nokia 1 battery lasted? 4. does nokia 1 camera has Autofocus?

  • Just updated my nokia1 to pie go edition. The phone just keeps going. Doing exactly what I bought it for. Yes it is sluggish but no, it isn't unusable. My Nokia 1 is faithful.

  • I downloaded Pie today. Looks and functions great. HMD are doing a fantastic job of getting Nokia back to magic. Like Nokia was before all the crap happened..... Remember this folks... Nokia was first and foremost a communications company that built cellphones that were both clear to speak and hear on. All I can say is that HMD have stayed close to Nokia's roots.... this little Nokia 1 is a phone that still has that clarity with voice calls that are unmatched with anything new around at sometimes 10 times the price. So, looking at what I've written, I am the proud owner of a smartphone that can do the communication too. I'm a happy Nokia owner. And I applaud HMD. You are all doing a fantastic job.

  • If you want to buy a 4n, buy Nokia 1

  • Great phone. Gotta understand it's not a flagship model. It gets the basics right. Loving it the more I use it. I understand it's limitations and accomodate them. Best thing I ever bought. Call quality especially good here in South Africa. Internet browsing quick. Apps open quickly. I've even got Excel installed for work stuff. Got WhatsApp on. And Imgur app for funny videos etc. My friends 4X the price phone does the same things about 3seconds quicker.... Lol.

  • Good phone for senior citizens. Smooth and flawless performance. The very neat and clean user interface, no bloatware at all. Got a recent Android Pie update. Nokia provides monthly security updates. Camera quality is okay, sound output little low but it's okay for normal users.

  • Good phone for senior citizens. Very smooth and flawless performance. Got a recent Android Pie update. Noika provides monthly security updates. Camera quality is okay. Neat and clean user interface no bloatware at all. Sound output little low but it's fine for normal users.

  • No

  • Nokia 1 OTG ready???

  • Nokia hmd collaboration has kept promises to update all their phones true. My Nokia 1 which I'm using got updated to android 9 pie this day.

  • why no option to connect to web messages??

  • Yip... Nokia are starting the Pie update in India first. The rest of the World to follow soon. Nice to know HMD keep their promises. Shows they are a trustworthy company and worthy of loyal Nokia users support. I wish more companies had the same attitude.

  • This will get Pie update. Yeah!

  • The last thing I thought of when buying the Nokia 1 was to play games on it. Being inquisitive I thought what the hell... it's not made for that lemme check anyway. Some people have reported heating issues with normal use.... well, a demanding game should show exposure any cooling issues quicker.

  • This guy really tried hard to break it... succeeded in cracking the screen...but the phone still worked afterwards.

  • Nokia 1 support VoLTE... Great...

  • As cheap as it is, it's still got legendary Nokia toughness and build quality.

  • amazing phone, love it

  • Here is the thing. I'm from South Africa. Many phones available on the world market have no support here. Sure, many have better specs for mostly around twice the price for an entry level phone. But if one of them break...no support here. You throw it away. That's why I've stuck with Nokia. Like I said earlier I've bought another Nokia 1. For ZAR 900 on special at Game stores here it's simply an absolute bargain. And it(they) now will still be working when the better specced non supported brands go faulty. And as a Nokia it is still legend. As cheap as it is. Built to last and not impress in the short term. Just does what it does well. I expect lots of reliable use for in the future.

  • I just buy this phone today... Nice build... Nothing wrong with this phone, i buy this phone because i am not a big fans of 5 inch display... I need a small phone for daily use..Internet browsing, facebook, instagram, telegram, whatsapp... Heating problem only happen in 3G coverage in my phone...and it happen at highnoon... it was about 10.00 to 15.00 o'clock...

  • Okay I'm old school. I've fallen in love with my Nokia 1 I purchased not even a month ago. I'm going to buy another one tomorrow. Bill and Melinda Gates sponsored the YouTube video that Jerry Rigs Everything posted. Build quality and everything about this phone is spot on. It does what it does WELL. It's an absolute Gem.

  • The hardware checking apps all day it's a bigger battery. It's 2150mAH. Software glitch probably.

  • Reminds me a lot of the Nokia 1208 back in the day, only not as indestructible - not a good phone in terms of specs, but that's not what this phone's about. Easy to use, good for taking to places where you might break or lose your phone, good to have as a second phone or a simple solution when you've got no cash but need to stay in touch with people somehow. Mine seems to have a 3090 mAh battery, no idea why that is.

  • when Nokia 1 get Android Pie update ???

  • Adding further 2.points only.. " A better phone would have the same screen size and smaller dimensions. This phone could easliy be made 1.5 cm shorter a half cm slimmer, and a couple mm thinner " 2.GB RAM with improved Battery is essential..

  • So far getting 7hrs+ from browsing, videos etc. I can't complain.😁

  • Crazy mobile.

  • what's the battery life like?

  • I bought one on Wednesday 15 May. Gotta say I'm loving this phone. I know what it can and can't do. Huge respect for Nokia getting their act together again. Lots of work ahead but you will make it.

  • Terrible disappointing battery sucks sd card doesn't read and heats up

  • This has been my primary phone for most of a year. I haven't found a suitable replacement. Best features: Battery -- charges fast, lasts more than a day, with WIFI and Bluetooth active. Tough-- it's been dropped many times now, with no resulting damage. I bought it for the reasonable screen size and the LTE... I don't want anything bigger than this in my pocket. The OS wasn't loaded with bloatware, and is to this day regularly updated. Worst features: Screen rather dim, difficult to read at all in daylight. (Typical of cheaper phones). Lousy sensors -- accelerometer is useless, no compass at all. OS problems: The ambient light sensor only succeeds in dimming the screen, which it also does in full sunlight. The Google Search widget can't be removed from the first page, near as I can tell. A better phone would have the same screen size and smaller dimensions. This phone could easliy be made 1.5 cm shorter a half cm slimmer, and a couple mm thinner.

  • I am using as a primary phone and it pretty good for me as i d'ont play games on my phone.

  • the worst mobile phone ever available in the market. its waste of money and time. please don't even think to consider as backup mobile.

  • No the battery life is good enough for it's price. I get 4 to 5 hours of screen on time...

  • BAD Battery Life.

  • Why doesnt my sd card show my images on this phone

  • Nokia 1 is better than nokia 2 but nokia 2.1 is much better than nokia 2.1

  • Mine is still going strong. It does what i need it to do and that is it

  • Hopefully :)

  • I think on May...

  • I've just received the April security update! I wonder when the pie update will arrive?

  • try changing network to 3g only

  • Cool. I'm still waiting.

  • Works for me love how small it is

  • I love it. Simple ot use, not too big and not complicated. Does everything I want from a mobile phone.

  • No OTG

  • Nokia 1 OTG supported or Not.

  • The phone doesn't let Me Store Contacts on the simcard

  • i got the march security update.

  • nokia 1 is a good phone for me but after a period of using this phone i found some problems like : 1) multitouch problem : for exemple when i press a point of the screen then i press another point, the first point doesn't respont (this problem annoying me and make me fail on most games fps) solution install TWRP and apply update "oreo multitouch fix" , have already tell the developpers about this problem by givibg them the link (sreach youtube : fix all oreo multitouch bugs) and tell them to do a system apdate. 2)battery drain fast on 10% 3)low storage 4)doesn't support usb otg 5)phone is lagging without any reason (when i'm not playing any game and all multitasking closed. 6)maps go can't use offline location 7)go edition google apps are very bad ( doesn't have features like the other google apps.) 8)i like android go edition because it optemised and easy to use but it still have these problems (Nokia 1 | TA-1047) I HOPE THEM FIX THESE PROBLEMS QUICKLY.🙂

  • Nokia 1.

  • Wich phone have better performance between Nokia 1 and Nokia 2 ?

  • Has anyone in the UK received the Pie update yet? And/or the February security update? Thanks.

  • The difference between Nokia 1 and Redmi Go is that redmi go has better processor that is snapdragon 425 and better camera 8 mp rear amd 5 mp front camera also HD display where as the Nokia 1 has inferior display , camera amd processor. Because I am using Nokia 1 as my primary phone. Normal useage for day to day is good on both Phone. If you love Nokia go for nokia 1 otherwise Redmi go..

  • what is difference with Nokia 1 va Redmi Go new (phone )

  • Yes In kuwait market versions..and also can use 2 NANO Sims and memory card simaltaniously..

  • Yes

  • U r absolutely True, my Dear..?

  • Hi All Has anyone had issue with low speaker volume on whatsapp or any other third party void calling app when on speaker? Mine has low speaker volume on 3rd party apps when on speaker but the built in call function seems to work fine with high volume on speaker Thanks

  • I love the design. Best combination between kitschy & style. Most phones are too cool or sleek. it just needs 2gb ram. Pls try it!

  • I bought the phone on my birthday but it Wouldn't charge (not the fault of nokia) but i haven't had a problem with my replacement phone it takes a while to get used to it if its your first smart phone its worth getting (if your in the uk) you can get it in argos for £57 plus £10 airtime voucher i never regretted buying the nokia 1

  • No

  • Can micro sim card work on this device

  • The Nokia 1 plus looks far far better.

  • Very good battery Beautiful design Durable phone Fast 4g Performs well on free fire

  • No

  • Get Her The Nokia 2.1 It Is Only £10 UK Pounds Extra And Has A Bigger Screen

  • I don't think so. I have the Nokia 1 and I have not seen an option to turn blue filter on I the settings. Let's hope that it will be included in a future update.

  • Good I Have One

  • Is this device have Ambient light sensor?I have this device & it's display brightens change sometimes automatically.

  • Now when I want to get to where I put my pass word but it has that option to say something

  • Hello, Does this phone have built-in "night light" (blue light filter)?

  • Then Get The Nokia 2.1 Which Is Only £10 UK Pounds Extra And It Has A 5.5 Inch Screen

  • No

  • Try Using The Lite Or Go Versions Of Apps That Have Them Like For Example Delete Facebook And Download Facebook Lite And Do The Same For Facebook Messenger And All Your Other Apps And This Helps Because The Lite Apps Have Less Functionality And Use Less Storage Space On The Phone

  • The Battery Life Will Be Good And Im Typing This On The Nokia 1 Right Now Using Firefox

  • There Is Now A Nokia 2.1

  • Oh boy!!!! This phones purpose is not only batter longetivity with very low power consumption SoC and obiously paired with atleast budgetwise specs like 1GB/8GB RAM/Storage. ANDDDD ""COMPACT"" since the Smaller the Screen the lesser the drain.

  • 8gb of storage 1gb of ram

  • it can play hd video

  • you can fix it by turning off the screen with the power button while on a call and the call will continue after the screen is off

  • it is the same messaging app as normal with smart reply and other stuff

  • you cant use asphalt 9 on it and i think that asphalt 8 will be slow and laggy

  • an official nokia update roadmap says that it is in early q2 2019 and q2 stands for secound quarter

  • it probably will but there is a new version of this phone called the nokia 2.1 which is only about 10 UK pounds extra

  • pokemon go might work on it but if it does it cirtainly will be slow

  • its not the nokia 1

  • you can go into settings -> sound -> advanced -> sound enhacement and then turn off besloudness to reduce distortion and improve sound quality

  • yes it will in early q2 2019 q2 stands for secound quarter

  • it does but the phone might be a little bit laggy if you do download regular youtube and facebook and the go version of facebook is called facebook lite

  • It's funny to read all these comments that complain on this phone. This phone is only suitable as backup phone, that compared to basic phone, this is running Android, and has WiFi, 3G/4G, and touchscreen. You can't expect it will perform like a flagship, also not even close to midrange performance by today standard. For western market, your best bet for decent entry level Android smartphone is from Motorola and Nokia. For other region, look out those offering from Xiaomi, ASUS, Honor, Realme, some even has Meizu and ZTE, that has entry level phone that perform like a decent midrange phone. Of course, at their price point, they compromise the camera quality, screen quality, audio quality, but they pack in specs like Full HD resolution screen, some 4000mah battery, aluminum body, powerful and power efficient SD636 or SD660 processor. Yes, even these smartphone packs great value for the money, most people out there still overexpecting these and want these to perform like a premium iPhone.

  • (Maybe Nokia 1.1 plus?) -5.2" 480x960 no notch 18:9 screen (206 ppi) over 75% screen to body ratio -Helio A22 (12nm very efficient quad core cpu) or SD 429 -2GB RAM -16GB storage -4500 mAH battery with quickcharge 12mm body thickness (i like thick phones) -150 grams weight or less -Android Go -Rubber corners like in the Nokia 8 I'm sure with these specs it will sell like hotcakes for under $90 upvote so Nokia will take notice and hopefully design such phone

  • 3 months of using. Ok phone for price. I dont like only on screen control buttons

  • Yoh this phone has given me problems from the get go,now I can't apply on the online posts for jobs, everytime I try to login on my email it logoff on its on,I tried downloading word thought it was my PDF still the same thing,I used my Google to login into my social medias I can't post anything because it logsout, now my phone space is full I tried moving things into my memory card the won't show on my screen,I seriously won't recommend this phone to anyone, and what's worse is my mom is using Nokia 4 still the same thing, Nokia has lost its touch, the camera it was great wen I opened it from the box,we can't even enjoy photos wen am out with friends at night what was the use for the flashlight from 0-10 I rate it 0

  • it's a very good phone my only problem is the speaker otherwise a great phone

  • Hi, i have had this phone for 2weeks now its really nice and cheap, but there is 2 things that i don't like, the processor's is slow and stalling and then the 5pm camera doesn't take that good pictures or give alot of options, but Nokia with android good work hope there is good thing to come

  • Could you advise me a another modern (2018 to 2019) compact phone (height below 140 mm) not as expensive as Sony´s and Sharp´s? Thank you. But I think that there is no option.

  • I meant that as a compliment lol. I still have my Moto G 1st gen from 2014 and it's honestly still in super great shape, not a single scratch on the screen. I installed LOS 14.1 on it and if you're only using one app, the phone is actually pretty quick.

  • if you have 100$ for a phone buy the Realme C1 instead of this crap

  • Yes it will. Check this link

  • in fairness, the original moto G was quite a great phone in its time. i had hesitations partting with mine, but i just couldn't do without the sdcard support

  • Are u having any issues in whatsapp video call.. the speaker output is terribly low though otherwise they seem to be working fine, like in normal calls on speakers

  • Thanks man

  • Yeah you can install whatever apps you want, it just comes with Go versions of Gmail and a couple of other things.

  • Guys can l set up regular YouTube ,facebook from the store or just the go versions?

  • Yes, Early Q2 2019

  • will the 1 get pie?

  • forgot to mention about the display, which is just as worst as the speaker. I can barely see anything under direct sunlight, too make matters worse the screen is too reflective. Brightness maxes out at only 246 nits. Second lowest I tested so far. Lowest is the nokia 8110 4g which can only go up to 180 nits.Even the galaxy J1 ace which has an Amoled display can reach as high as 314 nits which set the brightness to its max level, and reach 529 nits, when you activate the brightness booster. Overall watching youtube videos in the Nokia 1 is a very irritating experience, as it has a very worst sounding speaker and a poor display

  • I'm terribly disappointed with nokia 1's speaker, it looks like hmd built that speaker for anything except music.Average Loudness, barely crossing 70 decible mark, Sound is often too distorted and unclear, no bass, even mids and highs very unbalanced.Speaker sounds hollow and empty. worst part is some similer priced samsung phones sounds better than this. if you're the guy who likes to use the phones speakers to listen music more often, then this cheap thing is simply not for you.hopefully Hmd will bring some massive upgrades in this section in their upcoming Nokia 1 (2019),

  • This phone is like the reincarnation of the 2013 Moto G.

  • Excellent phone, so happy with it!

  • I wrote: "microSD, up to 128 GB (uses SIM 2 slot)"

  • Well said!

  • "microSD, up to 128 GB (uses SIM 2 slot)"

  • me too !!

  • Best Phone under 100 euro.I highly recommend it. Its worth the price

  • if these are setup correct and a fast speed card inserted they run great i have may apps and games running no problems at all and very good battery ..it just most people do not know how to use such a device properly and the slag them off ..ive bought and sol phones for over 20 yrs and i am pleased with this as its not as big as most on the market plus what the hell do you want for 40 quid flagship 8 gb 256gb hexa core ..come on people learn how to use them right

  • waste phone. some time android not working ................

  • if only it had nfc, shame

  • "Stand-by Up to 360 h (3G) "is misleading info, it actually lasts only 8 hrs on stand-by.

  • hello guys, can anyone tell me which budget class phone had the best sounding speaker? I'm a music fan so I need to know.thanks in advance.

  • What can I do if the phone gets blocked

  • Can't recommend Nokia 1 ..I use it as my second phone you leave it with 40percent batrey in the morning it's off

  • Go for Nokia 1

  • If you use Pokémon go, you are not a minimalistic user, that‘s a rather demanding game and it also consumes much battery. On the iPhone 5 I had it took 2 minutes to load, but that phone is available for €30 now. I would suggest you to look for an iPhone 5s used on eBay, you can get one for like € 60 and they are still very fine, even for gaming, and it still gets software updates. In any case, it is better than this Nokia 1.

  • Good value for €55. About only Android 8 phone that fits your pocket. Camera is mediocre, ok for occasional snapshot but not much more. Same for video, which BTW is 720p not 480p. A bit plastic feeling and very slippery like bar of soap, get silicone cover or flip case.

  • Please, anyone who owns this mobile, I'm asking for a small help... I'm a really minimalistic user. All I want to know is that if Pokemon go works on this or not. I am under a really tight budget so I have no option but to buy this or some other phone that's gonna break before a year. Please, help. And I really need tested results and not judgements based on specifications. thankyou in advance.

  • Anybody have android messages for web happening?? cant see setting. was there few weeks ago! did they pull it

  • oh my Gosh!!!! Im So confused Please Help me this or 8110 4g ?????

  • where is messages for web??

  • Despite using Facebook Lite, which now doesn't function properly displaying "Not responding" & suggests to close app. I have a screenshot of that error message which unfortunately cannot upload here.

  • I'm using a phone with 2GB RAM, I can't really tell the difference between 1GB and 2GB. IMO 1GB is the minimum for usability.

  • Well, hold it, man! Don't drop it anymore ;)

  • 2 minor issues: 1) Removable front cover. Sticking your fingernail in the groove, really? I tried a small flat screwdriver, it slipped and left an ugly scratch on the glass. OTH, cover may open when you don't want it - I dropped it on the floor and springy plastic shot the cover 3 feet away. GET THE RIGHT SIZE PROTECTIVE CASE. 2) Other than tiny power and volume button, there are no identifiable notches or bumps to tell top from bottom - sometimes I have to rotate it in my palm to get it in the right position - THIS is when I dropped it a few times. A popular design concept in smartphones, unfortunately.

  • Does Viber app work on Nokia 1?

  • I can honestly say I get a decent performance from mine, and the same for a good few others.

  • Although my Lumia 535 looked like a computer which I too agree is ridiculous, it performed way better than this phone & the camera too was sharper than this Nokia 1. Though I have inserted an original Sandisk 64GB memory card, still poor performance despite basic use only (Calls, messaging, WhatsApp, email only). It even takes time when selecting the phone icon to take a call, open email/WhatsApp etc in a hurry.

  • Sadly it doesn't perform as per the details provided in forums & so on especially the battery (standby & talk time etc). This kind of phone should perform better than this considering its category/class/grade.

  • I can't see it mentioned there at all.

  • Although the camera sucks it still does the job. Much better than lumia that looks like a computer trying to be crammed into a phone (ridiculous). Worth the price. The memory issue can be easily solved by a sd/memory chip. In a nutshell....practical!

  • The Nokia 1 is a great phone when used CORRECTLY. It's not going to play latest games or multitask like a boss but it it's very capable.camera is shite but does what I need it to do WhatsApp snaps and video calling. Battery life is great about 6 hours average sot. I have all the colours of the Xpress on covers I've got tempered glass and a case. My usage on the device is youtube, music stream WhatsApp and playing emulators as it can handle them including the nds emulators. And to the people complaining about the Nokia 1, please do some research on the device before you buy as if it doesn't fit your needs then don't buy it, you're only letting yourself down. Aww and I paid £39.99 out of carphone warehouse for mine

  • Rather buy a Nokia 3310 than buying a Nokia 1 (so called smartphone). I've been using it as a secondary phone for only basics such as calls/messaging, Facebook/WhatsApp/Email only yet it's very very slow in performance & the battery drains out within like 8-9 hours which takes 3.5-4 hours to charge. My Lumia 535 was a better performing phone than this. Regret for selling it.

  • I just bought one of these and i've noticed that has another chipset, mine has MT6735 and sadly this chipset has no firmware avaible.

  • On the Nokia Community forums.

  • That is pretty much the same how I would sum up the Nokia 1. Looking forward to the follow-up to the Nokia 1 sometime next year.

  • Got this on a Black Friday deal for just 25 USD, brand new. Great phone for this price, it replaces a Nokia 108 which I also used as a backup, I needed one with Whatsapp, 4G with hotspot feature and bluetooth with A2DP, features which the 108 didn't have. Great little phone with great battery life, pretty slim, mate plastics, does everything I need, I could even use it as my daily driver for a couple weeks if my current daily driver dies on me. Couple years ago I had a Lumia 530 which I also used as a backup, this little Nokia 1 is better in every way than the Lumia. Don't expect much in terms of screen or camera quality, it won't do multitasking well and it can't play the latest games, it just isn't meant for that. Great phone otherwise for what it is.

  • So do I. Strange I didn't get the update lol.

  • Europe

  • That's great to hear. What part of the world do you live in?

  • mine is on October update

  • As for the security updates for the Nokia 1, yes , I would agree, the last security update for Nokia 1 was in August! Kind of weird they would be that slack for the last 3 months? Then again it's only a budget / back-up kinda mobile, so I'm sure they don't see it as a main priority as they do their expensive smart phones? But, at the end of the day, you really can't expect too much with a budget mobile. Then again, regarding the promised Android Pie Go update, they definitely said it would happen sometime in early 2019. Again...have paitence. Should it not happen for whatever reason? No more Nokia phone again for me. Simple as that I'm afraid. It we'll have to wait and see.

  • It will definitely get the pie update. Nokia have to or it risks no one buying their next update of the phone? However, if for any reason it doesn't, my Nokia 1 is going straight on eBay lol. But we'll have to wait and see. The key is having patience.

  • Where's your source info?

  • Apparently the Nokia 1 not getting Android Pie Go. Doesn't even get regular security updates either.

  • Battery on my Nokia 1 charges from 0 - 100% in 2 hours and 20 minutes.

  • Purchased my Nokia 1 as a secondary phone using only for basics such as calls/messaging, Facebook (lite version) & whatsapp/viber only. Unfortunately battery lasts for less than 12 hours & takes 3-3.5 hours to fully charge. Guess my primary phone which is a Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) is better as it lasts for a whole day on heavy use or almost a day (if gaming).

  • Agree....100% !!!

  • Take the phone back............it's THAT easy !

  • I am an infrequent mobile phone user, that is, my phone isn't surgically attached to my ear and I don't regard its need as a, "religion." However, my old Samsung ???? phone had given up and I needed an uncomplicated replacement. The Nokia 1 is ideal for me...It is cheap, (around £60), I can make and receive calls, text, browse the internet (if I'm really desperate and impatient ) and it has a camera that doesn't produce pro pictures, but I have a wonderful Fujifilm for that. If there are lots of other things that it doesn't do, I really don't care. There is still a huge market for those who don't need their mobile phones, "to make toast !"

  • Maybe sell it on eBay or something similar?

  • I bought Nokia 1 at Best Buy in Oct, 2018, for $150 CAD with Chat with voicemail for $25/m CAD, and it works for calls but doesn’t download pics to my Mac Sierra. So I went to the Nokia website chat and was told I won’t be able to do that. Apparently the download needed is no longer offered. Wish I’d known that before I bought it. I don’t connect it to the web so I’m stuck.

  • I've had my Nokia 1 for 3 months now and I've never had a single problem with it. Such a great experience thus far. I guess I'm lucky! :) ;)

  • no it's android go edition android one is different from android go edition android go edition is "down grade" of android 8 to work with 1gb ram

  • you just don't know how to use smart phone or just you don't know what is smart phone is you just buy a basic entry level phone

  • these phone is best for back up phone only not your daily driver good asking price people complain to much because they don't understand anything

  • dear freand these is not full smart phone and only have 1gb of ram it will not handle all the apps you wanted these phone is best on call and text messaging only and basic web search try to use facebook lite only

  • This is the issue. Now Nokia seems to make larger phones and from what i read mostly wirh problems at cameras, processors, overheating, etc. It looks like cheap and low qualty components and design. They were not capable do make good even a simple phone like Nokia 1. My Nokia 1 : bought and in use since April; first couple of weeks it ran ok, with fast charge, normal heating, only complaint then about camera image quality which is rubbish; from July it started to charge slower, from 0 to 100 % in 4 hours, and to overheat - it becomes so hot that the sustem shuts down the phone, which is very annoying, overheating after easy internet use and during charging; now i am used wirh the phone shutting down during charging, due to overheating even i drilled some holes in the upper part of the back case and usually charging without back case; i looked for a replacement in Nokia phones, a small, cheap and good phone, not finding it-Nokia 2.1 is too large and seems to have many problems from what i read about it, Nokia 3.1. is a little to expensive and so on. I will try to use the phone till spring, the weather is cool now, when it will become warmer, 30-35*C I expect the phone to oveeheat and shut down during normal use (after a simple call , few minutes) like last summer. It seems Nokia HMD is trying to much to catch up with other OEMs so they design many phones but with cheap components and many flaws. My advice : do not buy this phone or return it as soon as possible.

  • how get new messages UI still old one.

  • Oh is that so. Did a reset before inserting the memory card yet this issue still continues. And to add on that, it takes 3 hours to charge the full battery but can only use the phone for less than 12 hours.

  • I use Facebook through the browser as I switch off notifications anyway. The Facebook Lite app will probably work better than the standard App. Also messenger Lite. Phone has been very good so far. Have had it crash twice. This was when I switched on Bluetooth and connected to my car. Battery seems quite good. Perhaps do a reset and see what happens. If same take it back.

  • 1) Battery draining out excessively even when on standby. 2) Phone overheating excessively even on light use. 3) Facebook app crashing regularly & required to repeatedly login too frequently. Note : * I have not installed many apps. Only a few which is Facebook, WhatsApp, Viber, Email - Gmail & Outlook. * Have inserted a 64GB SanDisk memory card. Anyone else facing these issues?

  • Nokia should bring more 4 to 4.5 inch smartphones. with good processor and cameras.

  • I have experienced the overheating problem. Smoking hot at the upper end of the screen. However, it varies from day to day. Still remains good entry level phone.

  • It is Android Go Edition.

  • You're wrong. It is actually Android (Go Edition).

  • Then yours must have a serious fault. Mine runs very smoothly indeed, like many others it seems.

  • Mine doesn't overheat either. Your Nokia 1 must have a fault.

  • Actually its shit i tried for 2 days biggest lag ever most frustrating android better with Samsung Mini 3 lol

  • Yas Buttery Smooth!

  • Mine doesn't you got fake!

  • Thanks.

  • Yes, it has an overheating problem. Especially in the summer/warm climate.

  • Is it Android One ?

  • Exactly

  • I like though, feel nice and right size duz me gud!

  • Good questions. Seconded.

  • You sure checked friends no smart reply in the messages!!!

  • Can anymore tell if this phone can handle asphalt racing game or it can only try games with low resolution?

  • I need some informations please. 1.Is this phone have pre-installed you tube downloader? 2.Can you see the videos you downloaded off line? 3.Does this phone have overheating problem? Thanks in advance...

  • I bought 1 last week. Still studying it as having no pre experience of Smart phones.

  • Yes you can

  • can i intsall google authenticator on this phone?

  • Good phone I like it

  • I am using lady from 100 days no such problem .very good phone

  • no option for live wallpaper, that's terrible.

  • A solid phone but why oh why is the media volume still at 50% when turned down to its minimum? this is bloody deafing in a quiet room.

  • Hard to beat for the price. No problems with speed. Great battery life -- even with phone, WIFI and Bluetooth, lasts for more than a day. A good fast SD card helps with some operations. The system is new and not burdened by bloatware. Weaknesses: Screen pretty dim -- difficult to read in daytime even in the shade. The system's auto-brightness is useless -- it only makes the screen darker, and isn't configurable. No gyroscope or compass sensor -- which is a pity since I like apps such as Sky Map that need them.

  • Yesterday switched it off,and switched it on n my recent pictures they were not the even now, they are not there....

  • My Nokia 1 has been perfect in every way so far. Yes, very happy with my lil' back-up mobile!

  • keeps overheating on usage between the camera , battery draining also too fast , auto updating every now n then unnecessarily consuming internal storage , had to factory reset n block any update

  • I also don't have a problem with the top bar either. Maybe yours (and a few others) is faulty?

  • I also don't have a problem with the top bar either.

  • Weird. The Nokia 1 never overheats for me.

  • I also xperience the overheating & the top.bar that activates when I'm on a call IRRRRITATING I won't reccomend this fone will have to save money to buy the Nokia three again which got stolen or five

  • I wonder when the Nokia 1 will receive Android Pie update? It will be interesting to see how quick or how late it gets it. Various websites say different things as to when it will come.

  • Me too.

  • It's certainly one cool back up phone - you'll love it! And I can confirm that Android messages has smart reply and all the other same features 😎😀

  • I think u got duplicate mobile.. Because i got every updates

  • Want as back up! Can anyone confirm if Android messages is the same as other one?, does the Go app have smart reply/ Web etc thanks.

  • if the phone started overheating in the last few weeks then is it certainly NOT the phone's nor Mediatek's fault but yours! You are asking too much from a entry level phone ( = calls, texting, basic browsing and definitely NOT gaming!)

  • great phone just eats more data

  • You should reset your phone. You realize this is a Go edition, right? That means that the processor is limited in the number of tasks it can perform. If you want a Ferrari, buy one.

  • Agree with the heating issue but security update is region or provider based.I have got August 2018 security update in my Nokia 1

  • I,m writing rhis review from a phone without back cover..The OS Android Go is ok but this phone has a HUGE problem : it is overheating. Bought it aprox 4 months ago, first 3 months there were no big problem,. In the last weeks the phone began to overheat, I guess it is the fault of Mediatek CPU. It overheats and is shutting down, till it (the phone/Android OS) thinks it cooled down, it can stay shut even an hour no matter what you try to wake him up...And this overheating and shutting down occurs after only a few minutes of internet browsing, some Whatsapp mesagges, no games...My advice is DO NOT buy this phone. It isgenerally ok but this overheating problem, after only 3-4 month of moderate usage, in 25-30*C climate, is pretty annoying. I,m thinking of drilling some holes in the upper part of the back cover, so it could dissipate the heat, to use the phone without its back it,s not a solution...I can also mention that the camera is very poor quality, the images seem to be made wirh a 2 Mpx camera not with a 5Mpx, which is also weak...Also a potential big problem, this phone hasnt received a security update from January 2018, not sure if it is the fault of Nokia or of the carrier, Vodafone. A smartphone with 4-5 months life duration seems a little to little, this new Nokia HMD company looks bad for me. I wonder if I will ever buy their products..Thanks.

  • does nokia 1 have very responsive top notification bar.when I am talking to someone the phone top panel comes down and anything taps with the touch of my ear.do users face similar when talking to anyone?

  • android go design for light data usage. only use up around 30% amount of normal phone data consumption and charges. i pay small amount for bill. do not think for high end game or advanced features at all. if want better, go for android one or android.

  • seriously nokia 1 (8.1.0 go edition) missing system apps like voice recorder, mtk engeneer ... it cant be rooted only use twrp to root using fast boot and pc

  • I buy nokia 1 and i see that is a normal phone whith 1gb ram (300~400mb free) it lagging sometime when play games but multitouch screen doesn't respond in multitouch games. if you want to buy this phone for a normal usage its acceptable because its not designed for heavy games like asphalt 8 ... the battery is 2050 mah capacity acceptable for normal use storage is not bad 8gb and 5gb free you can insert external storage (sd cqrd up to 64gb) i have some questions if you know please answer. 1.does nokia 1 support usb otg ? 2.can i root it without pc ? =>seriously nokia 1 (8.1.0 go edition

  • You can play COC on your nokia 1. You can run it smoothly

  • 8gb total available memory of which almost 5gb is user available

  • If so, then please find me a small phone (around 4.5" height max 140mm and width 65mm) with Oreo 8.1 and 2GB of mem and 16GB of storage.

  • If you want something bigger you Fork out the money for it,there are many options for phones with bigger memory options..all you have to do is pay the asking price and stop whining..

  • can nokia 1 play 720p video in mx player?what is the performance of navigation in uber?

  • Very low memory capacity... Does anyone know the exact memory useable?

  • does anyone know if this phone can run clash of clans

  • Very bad phone. Hang problem. File manager not gud as not showing sd or internal storage with proper way. Battery not gud. Very wrost phone.

  • will this phone's sim card slot both run on 4G ? im using 2 different 4G operator now. very fast on downloading.

  • Best phone for oldies.. completely satisfy..

  • i buy another used flagship phone for photo. use both at the same time.

  • Hi. I,m using this phone for 3 months, it is quite good for its specs. Except for the main camera, image quality is low.

  • Use this as backup for now. Solid phone for its price. Looks oldschool. Screen is good for the price. Camera does the job not so good. Battery seems to be good if you don't use a lot of apps like me. Latest android and regular security updates. Low storage ? just buy an SD card and use it as internal its an option. You can take off the back and replace or shift battery not so common these days. Haven't tried call quality yet but will probably be good. Overall for its price, I give it 7/10 because its smooth even with low specs!

  • Well, like the others say its old and not supported anymore. And its not running the regular version of android 8.1 its the GO version. Its pretty much the same only optimized for phones with low ram.

  • Can GSMArena expert rate it for using for a week?

  • the phone fully run on 128 GB micro sd card (act like internal storage). without less storage for new application.

  • Adaptable you mean

  • P.s: in VN, just $56

  • Com'on guys. Pls, use your brand. This phone is just $100. I don't know how you can complain about this hardware...

  • It was very worse experience with Nokia 1. There was manufaturing default & due unfair treatment by nokia service centre, couldn't use for one month after purchase. Eventhough emailed a complaint to concerned nokia department, they also not given due solution. It was very bitter experience with Nokia 1, Nokia service & Nokia customer care. If i could upload the vedio evidence of complaint, I will do that.

  • android go was fully support external memory card for store application and data. just switch the default storage to memory card.

  • also is there going to be a nokia 1.1 or is the nokia 1 a finished article ?

  • 8 GB internal storage only !! come on, we are in 2018. New phones must contain minimum storage of 16 GB.

  • i want to buy nokia 1 for only using facebook lite and youtube, is the battery good for my usage ? how long will it last ?

  • Good phone, in general, after 2 monthes. If you deactivate some Google preinstalled apps(Chrome, Youtube, Fb light, etc) the space occupiedb on internal memory is just around 4-5 Gb. The phone works very good, BUT it does heat on internet surfing and the camera is absolutely mediocre.

  • Can I buy this phone or not

  • when start with orange. they should send you setting for data and mms. save it for proper connection. or try go to their office ask for that.

  • I have had this phone by a few days and I can not make mobile data work. The APN is set well, I even hard reset it 3 times, but nothing seems to work. I tried setting the mobile network on 3G, 4G, 4G Lte, but no luck. I am on contract with Orange Romania.

  • This is supposed to be cheap and is somehow still too expensive considering it is close in price to phones like the Xiaomi Redmi 5a that completely destroy this phone in terms of specs, therefore I can hardly recommend this phone.

  • The battery life is very bad. I brought new mobile but still I didn't use the phone. But battery is getting low automatically how. Any one tell me the solution for this please

  • sorry! reinstall the older version application. May i know if on youtube with sim card operator, how many hour will last. of cause with wifi only battery will last at least 40% more.

  • I have been using it for last month and here is what i have found Screen quality is good Software is smooth for basic daily tasks Speaker is little on quiet side but gets the job done Latest software (8.1.0) with latest security updates The cameras are mediocre at best considering the price point The phone is lightweight and durable Battery life when browsing alot is 3.5 -4 hrs screen on time and while watching videos on YouTube it is very good around 6 hrs screen on time No heating Lag free for most part Overall im happy and satisfied for the price with no major problem

  • go to google search for the application that won't work. the older version. download from third party. uninstall and install the new version.

  • Root it rom

  • Samsung galaxy s3 was released in 2012 so it is not supported

  • Before security patch update it was working good but after installing the update some applications are not working properly like app protector. I have tried to uninstall and install again but the issue remains same.

  • Hi all I am using this phone for a long time now. Let me tell you that this is nt a regular smarphone that we expect today. Problem is all those criticising this phone compare it with todays smartphone. Which is wrong. Try this. Get any phone 2 3 years old of 1gb ram. Install oreo on that. I cn bet nokia would be better coz ot has best optomized os.. use this phone only if you are nt a heavy user or make it secondary. Install only essential apps and it works smooth.

  • If this phone have Oreo why cant Galaxy S3?:D

  • CPU quad core 1.1GHZ and 1GB RAM resolution 480x854 and with Android 8.1(Oreo)? lol xD its very bad phone and have Oreo:D

  • It's failing to download and it's poorly performing.what could be the problem?

  • Nokia 1 review: Performance and battery The performance on Nokia 1 is not the best, even with Android Go edition apps that are supposed to run smoothly on this budget device. I experienced multiple app crashes and lag with most of third-party apps. And even the Go apps were not smooth. Each time I tried to open the multiple tabs, the phone slowed down. The apps also take way too long to open, which is an issue for me. Plus, Nokia 1 heats up very quickly, say within one minute of opening videos on YouTube or launching the camera app. Due to limited storage, I could not download a lot of apps. There is an option of expandable storage for those willing to try it. Nokia 1 might seem like a good proposition on paper, especially with Android Go edition. However, the phone is hard to recommend as it fails to impress when it comes to actual performance. Nokia 1 faces solid competition from Redmi 5A (which one can get for under Rs 5,000 in offline markets), which has better performance in a similar price range. The only highlight here is the stock Android version of Oreo Go edition, though the price makes this seem expensive compared to the competition.

  • Don't you have any heating problem with Nokia 1?

  • Hang cuz 3GB seriously lol .had it been 16GB with 1.5ram be fine. Dumb move really, I bet Nokia 1.1 comes like 3.1 hahahah do it right in first place. $20 maybe is all worth

  • try to look for launch manager in your phone or download from google.. it will manage which application to run when turn on the phone.save more ram. disk clean up once a week. the other issue to me is im using asus zonfone is the nearest os with android go. try to boots the phone once it loading was slow. i'll do it couple times a day if needed. ha ha! im using basic 64kb internet. save a lots of data charges. is up to you do it or not. good day!

  • Just being curious while i ask... can you test it for if pokemon go runs on it or not. I know the phone is just too much down the scale of specs required to run the game... still, i'd really like to get some first hand insight from someone who owns the device.

  • This phone is a basic phone,to expect it to work like a 2018 midrange is unrealistic! I like this phone because: Latest Android version Reasonable size and lightweight Low resolution screen-less data used Really good signal lock-in ,I use this at my workplace where my view10 can't get any signal ,whereas this phone has a stable 3G connection I installed lite versions of Facebook and other apps ,and it all works well.ipening and loading apps is really slow . The cameras are really bad, worse than 200X featurephones Battery life is easily one day long eventjough battery capacity is small Highly recommended as a back up phone.not a main phone

  • It is a very bad phone.please don't buy this phone.Hang problem is the major problem. Camera quality is very good.stylish design and looking very good.It is not good for continue using . please don't buy this phone.you choose other phone in nokia 6,6.1,and otheras. It is low price, but it not good phone .No heat problem, internet is very fast.so it is not good phone.

  • im using asus ZenFone 452 since a year ago. it is the only phone have a os size similar to android go. i just run on 64 kb internet and it work fine. even with facebook lite version, it really save a lots of data and capacities in the phone. its work out great. although internet data getting a lot cheaper now. before do think to use a higher spec phone. i think better to stick with this lite usage. will get nokia 1 but later due to my ZenFone still work well.

  • Can this device run Pokemon go? Has anyone tried it?

  • I'm wish they'd release gboard go for all

  • nokia 1 and android go is designed for low data consumption. don't expect high quality matted. although can get better phone for this price. i been used this type of phone for 8 years. save enough money to get my new laptop, yamaha hs5 and 4k tv this year. i use the other flagship phone for photo and call. trust me!

  • Yes you can.. infact there are lite versions of various apps in development, including social apps for android go.

  • Of course. But if one opts for Nokia 1, then he/ she has to bear this in mind. And once chosen, then there should be no complains. NOKIA is not forcing to buy this.

  • can i use temple run and subway surfurers in it? and all types of social app

  • Can anyone test and tell me if it is able to run Pokemon Go?

  • For 100€ you can buy waaaay better phones

  • For all those who are expecting too much ,plus understand it's a phone targetted for those who need very basic functions using Android OS and at an affordable rates. If you are looking for following - OTG, high RAM, high storage, playing games, media consumption etc. then this phone will not have that. No point in bieng critical about it. It's a simple phone for those who just need to do - phone calls, messaging, emails and basic social networking. And it's all.

  • not true the Nokia 1 eats more data even if you switch background data off still gobbles alot

  • nokia 1 definitely save lots of data and charges.

  • Code name of Nokia1 dual SIM is TA1056

  • Not much good. Just avg quality only.

  • i don't know, may be you should go to shop try by yourself. different people have different types of ear.

  • It,s only 80 $. It,s a good phone for this price, except for the main camera - low quality images

  • No I'm asking whether Nokia 1 has good sound output through headphones? I've used 3310 and 216, and they sound very bad! BTW, I've used Google play music

  • I'd never but phone in 2018. With 8gig, for $150 lol" rip off .... Will fill up quick

  • They stuffed up, look here for specs

  • this..phone can't play moba game..but the display..and battery nice..but it still can't play mobile legends...it can play aov but still have a lagging..

  • It does not has OTG. No OTG

  • Sorry I don’t know if this has USB On-The-Go.

  • Yes there are two different variations of this nokia 1, one has dual SIM card slots and one does not. I am trying to establish the dual SIM card model. Any help you can give is much appreciated (European market)

  • Then how do you explain this listed on the John Lewis website with 16GB of storage:

  • doe tjis have otg

  • no 16GB version only 8GB

  • me too.

  • Hi,This is Nokia 1 model

  • I think it is a stock android os ROM. Their is a single SIM version I have seen with 16GB storage. Come on for £80/€91/$107 this not bad value for what you’re getting in my opinion.

  • Does anybody know the model number of dual SIM version of this phone? I am trying to buy online and want to make sure I get dual SIM version of this phone and not the single SIM version. I am in the UK 🇬🇧 if that is any help. Many thanks for your help in advance 😊👍

  • Thanks! ....Since its go version! Does Messages have smart reply option??

  • 131 g dude.

  • Weight???....... Also does Smart reply option in messages!

  • My upgrade wish, Android one OS, 4.7 screen 16GB and 2gig ram 13mpx camera.

  • i have sony flagship mp3 player, flagship phone. if you want something relax to use. try download google play music. it provide some audio that use for endurance and without any tension feel. not that bassy and high. but really good clarity. you need internet when turn on this app every time. internet just for turn on. try it but don't blame me if not workout. good day!

  • How is audio and sound output from this phone's 3.5mm jack? I've used Nokia 3310, 216 and 130 and they sound horrible through headphones. How about this one? Plus, I'm buying it for Whatsapp, Notes, Youtube and Music; is it recommended?

  • Tip for sharper pictures As it turns out the HDR function (which takes multiple exposures for better colour reproduction) was on by default, and the Nokia 1 just couldn't handle it. Once I turned HDR off sharp images became possible.

  • In messages does it have smart reply option ?? settings. I know go features are missing someone confirm please.

  • decent phone for price like the specs is fast and efficient

  • From 0 - 100% it will take around 3 hours.

  • HD 720 1280 consume more data and loading speed. i still prefer 480 854. i use other HD phone for photo.

  • Could be a better screen. HD Ready 1280x720 screen. 480 screen is from 2010 for sure. Otherwise what I need...

  • Nice phone

  • Agreed sir. I use this as my daily driver so I don't have to worry about losing or dropping etc. my new OnePlus 6. But it always amazes me when I see peeps out with their £800 smartphones. They are either very brave, stupid or both lol

  • This phone is fantastic value for money. The performance of everyday tasks is fine. Things this phone does just fine for my needs: -Video calling -Email -Facebook -Whatsapp -Navigation (Waze) -Spotify Things I'll miss: -Decent camera (the camera is understandably horrendous) -Compass -Fingerprint reader

  • About 3 hours?

  • how long will it take on fully charge on battery?

  • Just bought it yesterday. Is light and turning on and off is quite fast as compare to Xiaomi. Battery charging also quite fast not like some fellow compliant about Nokia 2. Watching movie also quite sharp. No distortion or blur picture. Only problem is opening up the phone to change SIM card. They should use the slide method then the ply open method.

  • hope more android go phone came out for more demand and drop of price. like my ZenFone 452 i pay for $60 only.

  • That's right. It's a decent phone for those who need access to whatsapp and the internet etc. but don't care or need to play high graphic games or need to use a decent high-spec camera (duel or otherwise). I would definitely recommend the Nokia 1 as a back-up phone. So do yoursslf a favor and keep your good looking and expensive smartphone at home!!!

  • The Nokia 1 is now (finally!) available in the UK.

  • Its really a good phone for normal use. The people, who don't have lot of time to play with mobile or not much depend there business with mobile, they will select this one.

  • The phone is still quite big for a 4.5" screen and if only the camera was slightly higher resolution. Still not found a phone to replace my LG 7 II.

  • Nah then not compact

  • Thank you Nokia for listening. 4.5"" is risky release during this time, but am sure, you understood the problem of holding those big screen phones and slipping off. If only the batter life could have extended it would be of great help. I understand it would be the problem with android apps and android usage, but try to increase the battery mAh. This for sure is pocket friendly and a cute phone. Also, I need to specify the pricing. The same specs and even lower battery Motog 1st gen on flipkart is selling for 9,999...bull shit. Atleast if you released this phone a bit early I could have saved bucks. But good job

  • Yes.

  • display 5.2 should've nice... 4.5 looks boring

  • Does Oreo combine external as one??..like move all apps over to external.

  • Whats -18gb mean?? its 8gb

  • 1. Price is much better. 2. Buggy Oreo 8.1 OS (Pattern lock though correct opens on 2nd time, though expanded 32gb as internal asking for more space in google play) New patch is released just today and above problem has gone away. Still showing -18.x gb of free space of 31.x gb (Look at minus sign)

  • I'll definitely get this as a back-up phone, but my main phone will be the new Oneplus 6.

  • android Go! save my as!

  • Go system early days!!!! Ill wait for feedback, but I use many Go Apps on my own phone so it's cool.

  • Would of been so much better with a 4.7 screen/ 16gig and 2gig ram 2800 battery! ......Needs Varient! 8 gig is far to low with O/S

  • Reset camera settings to default

  • My Nokia 1 rear camera blurry . What's the problem

  • asus will come out mid range android go version this june. other than android version, i quit confident with asus UI (develop by asus) . you guy should find out some times. it different.

  • i got sony flagship MP3 player, ipod 6 and xperia Z1 compact. zenfone 452 is the best sound quality to me. google play music will get a better clarity but i think u need internet access at every launch. nokia 1 do have a lower speed cpu compare with my ZenFone 452. i think this will help on consumption of battery life. will get it next year due to my ZenFone only 6 month with me, quit new! some more hope that some price drop next year. ha. ha.

  • For the user asking for 2018 specs, please buys Nokia 8 Sirocco. This phone isn't for specs. its for basic utility. Understand the difference. Cmmon Mann

  • How is the battery life?

  • Just bought this phone and it is very good , it doesn't lag and is very efficient! The cameras aren't the biggest but they do a very good job!it's got an asha/ Lumia feel to it very retro noiia

  • Hi, i am a tech reviewer . For everyone asking about the battery 🔋 , yes it sure have a smaller number but it's on you and your hardware's use. It is from Nokia's android go version so basically it won't drink your juice in gulps. It will last longer than you expect.😊

  • nokia plzzz go ahead not in 90thees....

  • Nice more review????? Lag or .............how keyboard how sending sms what it like fast 4G

  • Haha.. this phone is purely to showcase the Android go. Android go phones all came with these specs only. And u r asking all these specs at 3500₹. How crazy this is.

  • How well does it handle Google Play Music? Anyone know? Thanks.

  • I want them to go back to plastic more durable than glass metal.

  • Battery can last a full day on a single charge

  • 131 gram (including battery)

  • year 2018 creating a phone with these specs. is a joke make it metal no plastic MP - 8/5 not 5/2 - ram minimum 2gb not 1 i mean ... cmon nokia

  • My opinion is that battery is not bad budget simple smartphone you know

  • Where is weight ".

  • my sony xperia E1 1500 AMP battery. five years still manage on screen for youtube 5 hours directly. outstanding!😭;

  • common! i have s3 and most of the application won't support after few years. usually i estimate about 3. years for 1 phone. when i stay at UK. i use to have a new phone every 6 month, for six years. every single model will have new model in 6 to 12 month. quit soon. now i plan to have 1 phone a year. quit a heavy user, im. somemore data charges getting cheaper now at my hometown, might think for higher spec phone soon as well. android go develop for certain country for ez usage.

  • It has a design of a Nokia phone running Symbian Belle.

  • Should last 8 hours with average use.

  • after a couple of years..then you can buy another phone.

  • It's 2150 mah battery is good or bad .

  • What happenf to android one can happen to andrd go as well. after a couple of years no apps and no other support afterwards

  • in malaysia this phone is rm339. while xiaomi 5a is rm399. thats like only usd15 difference. xiaomi 5a specs is like 7x better. shame nokia... you guys go compare this with xiaomi 5a and tell me your comment.

  • Hey Nokia 1 owners! May I know your thoughts regarding its screen? Is the phone's screen usable under direct sunlight? Thanks!

  • No .none of the nokia android phone have led notification light.

  • if you look for budget phone, i agree is xiaomi. if you look for budget use, it definitely android GO.

  • Although based on the spec, 1GB RAM 8GB STORAGE. still a lot this type of specification phone in the market. only my ZenFone is in category. small OS. this will help on saving data traffic. many people just look at the spec and don't know about the usage. i read a lots of forum, the only attached me is how big did the OS occupied the phone. after i buy it, it really work for me. if you want browsing, get this phone. if needs a high quality camera or advanced gaming, go for more advanced and expensive one. google develop this version android for new billion phone user. especially india. i use 3 different phone operator, flagship phone for make call and photo. this will for browsing. it run faster than my flagship.

  • For Seriously Low budget go for the xiaomi redmi 5A. It's the best deal.

  • Does the Nokia 1 have an LED notification light?

  • For this price really worth full smartphone.. designs looking good also good battery back up. I am using since 1 month its really good

  • may i know the usage of the ram when phone turn on? launch manager will control the application off on background. its useful.

  • i already try j1 before, its load slower then my zenfone. mine with normal android 5.1. but different MIUI develope by asus. sometimes always update application might have different speed. usually when i use this version and satisfied. i won't update anymore. but some times new version get faster. wait and see how. stick with my zenfone by now.

  • I'm going to buy either Nokia 6 (2018) or Nokia 7 Plus.

  • I'll buy it for my mum!

  • value for money smartphone nokia the king again

  • Guy, I'm using this phone for past 3 days. I know Nokia 1 is for those who can't afford. I'll share my experience. 1. Phone looks cheap because of plastics. 2. Phone is too slow even for the go apps. Even google go, chrome, assistant, or files go, Skype lite, youtube go takes 5 seconds to load fully. whatsapp works some what fine but it also takes around 3 seconds to load. 3. 5mp back camera takes time to process a image and produce a low quality. Front camera is there for name sake only. 4. Battery gives an average of 10 hours only for calls, messages and whatsapp. 5. Display is dull, under sunlight you can't read anything even with max brightness. Even though screen size small, the navigation keys takes one tenth of the screen space. 6. You can install normal apps on Android Oreo go, because of low ram and processor it'll take time to load and some apps not opening at all. While using apps other than go apps, the phone gets heated 6. Only advantage is the fluidity of the launcher. But widgets options are not great. This phone would have looked good if it launched in 2015/16. If you are using it only for calls, messages, whatsapp then buy it. Otherwise don't even go for Nokia 1 guys. I'm regretting now guys and using it more like a basic phone. Try to spend little more of INR 2000 or USD 30 to get Samsung galaxy j2 pro to get a complete budget phone experience.

  • Just add apps to a micro SD card. Most will move.

  • 8gb is low. I know os only takes up 4gb but still 4gb remaining is too low. It would be great if there is 16gb variant.

  • FYI: the UK release of the Nokia 1 one has now sadly been pushed back to June 20th. I'm not sure as to why.

  • It will be released on April 13th.

  • when this nokia 1 available in malaysiq?

  • uc browser and baitu browser. their search capability will get different result compare with google search. is quit nice to be a alternative search engines.

  • my zenfone is nice with save data browsing. zenfone QHD display need 1MB. my xperia Z1 compact HD display 3MB. before that my samsung galaxy A7 FULL HD display is about 6MB. i use opera browser for 14 years, it always show the loading amount at the bottom. 14 years ago when i was stay at UK. i pay 1MB data for £5. is enough for few games download. of course FULL HD display a lots better experience for using browsing or photo. but still save some juice for other gadget. my laptop already more than 10 years. thanks pal with your information.

  • Aww yeah, Nokia sticking to the basics 😎😎

  • You can use Google Play store apps if you choose to. It's your choice if you want to use Go apps or the normal play store apps.

  • does nokia 1 support LineageOS . do it means after jnstall LineageOS then we manage to use google play store app? (not the go edition). im using asus zenfone 452. this phone same spec with nokia 1. i do try so many others same spec but this zenfone really come with small OS (4++GB space) it browse with save data and faster. i might look for something like this as well as my 2 nd phone.

  • It does work with UC Browser, Facebook Lite and Messenger Lite. It will also work with any app from Google Play as well as Google Go apps.

  • For those who own nokia 1, can you compare with old Lenovo A319 in terms of loudspeaker (since I have A319 and it has a dolby)? And one more thing, does it work facebook lite, messenger lite, UC browser? Thanks

  • I think Beebom on youtube made a video about Android Go apps and the difference with the normal sized apps.

  • i doubt it, just buy used old flagship under 100 dollar (like s5/note 3, z2 or z3 big/compact) that can handle task better than this phone a lot

  • can this play mobile legends?

  • Definitely.

  • too overprice with limited feature and spec. you can get samsung s5, samsung note 3, sony xperia z3 big/compac with this price in my country

  • Only 8GB storage with SD card covering SIM2 slot? This hybrid SIM/SD slot needs to die. It’s tricking customers thinking they have both features.

  • Or anyone who wants to try a refined, simpler, minimalistic version of Android. The sort of people who don't need the latest and greatest, or every app.

  • I know now :)

  • Haha!!

  • This phone might be good enough for the oldies coming from Feature Phone.

  • Did you see my other comment? I mentioned that you could install LineageOS on it if you needed the latest version of Android. Several old flagships support the latest version of LineageOS.

  • Yes.

  • True, but it wouldn't have the latest Android OS, guaranteed Android OS updates and security patches etc. But it's always swings and roundabouts with phones.

  • Good phone for its price. For people who needs just dialing or calling, messaging, sometimes go on internet is excellent enough. Also as a backup phone is good is cheap and is made by our beloved Nokia a super B brand between many so called other phone brands.

  • However, you could have gotten more features that, you'll eventually realise, would be useful. The old 2013 flagships have more features for the same or cheaper price.

  • This phone supports VoLTE???

  • i already saw nokia 7 plus at jarir khobar also, and it is a masterpiece, i will buy it next Inshallah

  • a very good dummy phone, i bought it yesterday at jarir bookstore corniche al khobar saudi arabia, the battery is superb, 26% initial battery lasts for 11 hrs 22 minutes b4 finally shutdown, nothing fancy but very straight forward, battery removable, the back cover is awesome like old nokia phones express music before, fluid touch

  • Again, it depends what you want from a phone? I'm buying one to use as a daily backup phone. If I want to take good pictures, play the latest graphic and power- hungry demanding games and pretty much everything else, I do that on my flagship device. The NOKIA 1 will be fine for my daily needs of making calls, browsing the web, listening to Google Play Music and chatting via WhatsApp and FB messenger. I also don't have to worry about losing it, risk it being stolen, forgetting about it or dropping it as I would my mainl flagship device.

  • That amount of money is not worth it. You could get an older flagship from 2013 (maybe even 2014), and install LineageOS on it (if you really need the latest version of Android) for the same amount of money (if not less). And it has much better specifications.

  • FYI:Thinking of buying this phone? It makes sense to download the likes of Facebook Lite, Facebook Messenger Lite and Twitter Lite etc. In fact, see anything with "lite" in the name? Make sure you download it! Not only will it make your new Nokia 1 run a lot smoother, it won't take up much space.

  • I've just checked again the suggested price of the Nokia 1 in the USA and it could be as much as $85 or $90. But there's still no official word from Samsung as to when (or if) the Nokia 1 will even be released stateside.

  • It all depends what you expect the Nokia 1 phone to do? What are your needs? Nokia 1 won't play the latest games. Nokia 1 won't take great pictures. But the Nokia 1 is just fine for browsing the Web, playing normal games and using chat apps like whatsapp and FB messenger etc. Get an 128 Micro SD card and you can format your phone to have all that extra storage for films etc. As for the price? It won't be that cheap in the USA I'm afraid. More like $70 or $80.

  • With these specifications, I'm hoping this phone costs under $40 or else it'll be a total rip-off. Even 2011 phones have better specifications!

  • Like which new phone?

  • It's already available in Jordan with the price of 80 dollars. It's a cool secondary phone that gets the job done. If you're planning on using it for games and stuff then you'll be disappointed.

  • Android Go probably will support all lite apps that include Facebook lite also. There are no Facebook Go which is the name applied to Google lite apps

  • But does it have the latest Android OS? I think not.

  • Very poor resolution, camera resolution, main memory and RAM. Even battery is poor!!! For this price you get a 16GB, 2GB RAM, 13 MP & 5 MP cameras; with 1280x720 pixels 5" screen, and 3000 mAh battery!!!

  • Some of the countries where the Nokia 1 will be available include:Brazil, Bulgaria, Germany, Holland, India and the United Kingdom. It may also come to the USA later on in the year.

  • FYI:You can install both Go and any / all of the usual Google Play Store apps on the Nokia 1.The choice is yours. As for the Facebook app, you can now get Facebook lite and Facebook messenger lite should you not want to install the normal versions.

  • It actually does have most of the same features as the full-blown Oreo. Only two missing features.

  • Also great a a backup / second phone.

  • Well, what country do you live in? Then I can let you know if it's coming to your country or not.

  • trust me 1 thing, 480 x 854 display won't that easy affect by bug or virus. i better stick with my zenfone by now. thanks!

  • Where to buy what countries??

  • honest! is going to be a doomsday for me.

  • sorry about the fact. maybe i'll wrong. i just want something like my ZenFone. I been do a phone set up for my friend, samsxxx. still mine faster and reliable. may be will bought another 1 since is old model and low in price now. i pay £40 6 months ago. but still keep an eye on nokia 1. thanks pal! good day!

  • did android go cannot use ordinary android application from play store? this i don't know. have to find out later. my asus zenfone go is android 5.1. they use their own MIUI. usually spec like this with other brand, their os will take 6GB++ space. mine only 3.5GB. is work well no matter lite or normal version.

  • Looks great as parents' / kids phone, especially with a tempered glass on top should be indestructible. Only the price should be more like $50 for its specs now in 2018.

  • Design a bit 2002 lol , experiment stage no full feature Oreo like dots....

  • Problem. Is only Instal go apps, Facebook has no go apps? What about other apps that are not go?. I think Google should just Launch all apps without install from playstore. Ppl still like nice handsets Samsung etc. This ok for school lol

  • although with this price you can get a higher specifications phone, but talk about practicality. this is the phone no others, except the one that im using for half year now. asus zenfone go( same spec with nokia 1). compact and fast browsing even at low reception area. my hometowm is a valley, so i need this type of low-end but straight forward phone. will get 1 as back to back use. there's 3 phone in my bag every day for different use, this will number 4. even work as hotspot at home for my laptop. since i use asus ZenFone go for 6 months, save some money for data charges. i will use this money for buy nokia 1. i didn't have internet line at home for 8 years. i save a lot. those amount enough for me to get new laptop, yamaha hs5 speaker and 4k led tv this year.

  • come to india we have jio ..

  • I think it will sell due to compact size, not many now, plus the Go apps are not taking up space. Would be a good back up phone even

  • 0 mediatk cpu nul

  • Nice smaller device. I am buying this.

  • Cool 😎

  • it needed less data to load full page. i just spend £2 a month for data traffic. i use my xperia to make call, some times even use my samsung full hd as well. i use 3 different operator so i need more than 1 phone.

  • The Nokia 1is now up for pre order on Amazon UK. Same for the Nokia 7 Plus. Release date is April 30th, so not long to wait now.

  • Will you be buying it?

  • It's already available in The Netherlands. 89 euro is the price.

  • This phone overprised as hell. In $100 you can find a ok phone with full android . Like moto e ,moto C and not forget abt chinese phone. Still waiting for nokia 1 review tho

  • Why do you like this display?

  • Any phone with 480 x 854 pixels display. i will buy.

  • It would seem a lot of people post without reading the facts properly. Duh!

  • Every phone that has Android Go Edition, which was introduced to explicitly support devices with 1GB RAM or below. Read the news. ^^

  • who uses single gb ram phones in 2018 !!!

  • Looks like Galaxy S II? You, my Sir, are wrong. Front looks exactly as Nokia 808 PW, save the button bar.

  • if you prefer some thing computer like, maybe try opera browser. there is 2 version. opera mobile and opera mini (which is light version). opera mini will get exactly the look like your home computer screen. it is the fastest browser that i been used for 13 years. since i stay at UK. even now at my home town. it will be the best browser manage to run with basic 64KB internet speed. good day!

  • I'm still confused if the Nokia 1 will get updated to Android P or not. I know the Android One phones will be but there's been no confirmation about the Android Go phones yet? But I know Nokia 1 will continue to get security updates from Google. Any ideas / thoughts on this?

  • sometimes update the newer version of application and not that satisfied. go to web search for previous version from third parties ( remember the version number ). uninstall the newer and restore back the old one. lm still using the facebook lite 1 year ago version. better for me

  • Would not touch facebook with a bargepole. I like small phones anything above 140mm x 70mm is big. This phone is perfect for me.

  • This looks like a galaxy s2. I've thought before that the s2 is the prototypical modern phone and that I would love a new one as a spare. Remember how light they felt? I recently spent $10 on a new battery for mine, but the onward march of OS and apps has meant it can only do so much. It runs much better than my newer m7 HTC. I think a simple upgrade to the s2 internals is all that is needed. I will seriously consider this nokia though. $150 AUD is a good figure. The new full size, mid range Huawei at $229 USD is far superior, being almost a main phone replacement, but it's $300 AUD, mean it isn't the instant decision for many people.

  • try by using a lite version application. facebook lite and others. it will run faster and save data. i still using my old sony Z1 for call and take picture. i might use my ipod 6 for pictures sometimes. i have lots of stuff. thats why i notice about the different.

  • 2 GB RAM and 16 GB storage. you can grab 1 with close your eyes. they are every where.

  • Been looking for a replacement phone. This is it. It is not a small computer with a cellular feature that is really expensive. It is a phone with extra features that is not really expensive. Also it is fairly small which I like. A phone that has maps and mail with a memory expansion that is small...perfect. There is nothing on the market in the UK that beat this. I have a Xperia J which was okay until I found out that you can not move programmes about. So the memory is full and can not update without deleting the only 2 programmes I use. The closest is a compact XZ2 or Apple SE and as I can get 6 Nokia 1's for the same price I will go with Nokia 1. Maybe the price will drop in the UK as lots of people like "Bling" phones. Then I will buy 2 and a few spare batteies that you can change unlike my other options.

  • 2 GB ram 16 GB internal storage 720p and 5.0 inch screen will be perfect for this phone

  • although 1GB Ram will affect the performance, but majority is the resolution. QHD resolution will need less data compare with HD resolution. i downgrade from HD . now having exactly the same spec with nokia 1 since half year ago. asus! the only phone with 8GB storage and left 4GB++. others only left 2 GB. this is because of their own develop MUI. 1 thing i find out about windows phone can run smoothly, is because most of their application is in tiny file. i will grab this phone as well, im using 3 different phone operator.

  • Bro its a android go phone just check what is android go phone then comment its made for specially people having less than 1 gb of ram. As it is having 1 gb it works really smooth

  • Bro first blaming nokia just make your facts right its a android go phone. First check whats a android go os is then decide whether it works smooth or not. For android go its a high end phone because android go is made for specially for phones with less than 1 gb of ram. Hmd peoples are previous nokia employees they know how and which os is suitable for low end phones don't forget they have their own popular os i.e symbian. They have experience people out there.

  • Anyone know if the Nokia 1 will get updated to Android P ?

  • a bit hipe for this phone

  • I believe the Nokia 2 did.

  • We'll hopefully find out soon :)

  • Does it support USB On The GO

  • it can browse a lot faster with basic internet speed. because of QHD resolution . i been swift back from HD display half years ago. really satisfied with that. i used another better phone for make call and photo. this how i work out. (maybe a bit strange for other user, but it really work for me, i just pay for little some for the bill, save some money to get some other gadget. this year will get a yamaha hs5. try to guess how it works and maybe you can do as well. i use all prepaid phone operator.). good day.

  • This review is helpful enough until GsmArena posts its own review.

  • Hi, it is up for pre order from Clove UK. They say it will be available from the 7th of May. Price is £79.99.

  • Any cheap smartphone is better.

  • Doesn't make sense. Redmi 5a is miles better at the same price

  • Buy, Buy, Buy. I hope nokia has its own os, like symbian s60, but better according to the present day

  • Positives: -Modern Android 8.0 Oreo Android One out-of-the-box with Treble supported. Don't see Xiaomi doing this (Mi A1 doesn't have Treble). -removable battery. Don't see Xiaomi doing this. -Global availability. Don't see Xiaomi doing this. -Global LTE band support, namely B20 and B28 that are often missing in Xiaomi devices. I would say this is about on par with Xiaomi's low-end offerings. 1GB RAM is nasty in 2018, but should be compensated somewhat by the lighter OS. It's not great, but not even Xiaomi's are great in this price range (or Moto's pr anything really for that matter). If you want a really good device, you need to save a little bit more money unfortunately. Something like the Redmi Note 5 Pro or Nokia 6 2018 are fantastic phones for everyone, but sadly there are many that cannot afford those...

  • Ok I get it. this is like a feature phone, but runs on Android. but with that price range? damn I can get a better Android phones (excuse me for my naivety, I love Xiaomi because it has a cheaper price). and 480p? wtf are these guys been smoking?

  • I will say thought, you are buying a trusted brand with Nokia, Leagoo Devices have been found to contain viruses and stuff, so for a trusted brand like Nokia, this is a good device, and it runs a Light Version of Android with Updates to Newer Versions, Leagoo wouldn't do something like that!

  • Well said. This is a phone. Business will come from the millions who buy it. I worked on a project for cell towers in India...now I see why. Good value phone with spare battery option....try swapping the battery on an Idevice.

  • I hope this is soon on sale in the UK. This is a very good device. First it is a phone. Second it is good price. Then it seems ro be available with modern software which might get perfected once released in India as in India there is many people to test it on and they will have many develpers available to do this work for the powers that be. I need a new phone as mine has been taken over by software updates and has no space to do so. As soon as it is available in the UK I will buy one...or two.

  • To expensive for mediatek quad core processor and for 1GB ram. To big body for 4.5 inch phone. My octa core Leagoo Kiicaa Mix that is 1 inch bigger screen is only 8-10mm taller then this phone and when i bought it the price for it was 90 euro. Now it's something 115 euro. but still why would anyone want a mediatek CPU phone with low MTK CPU with a price with what you can get a lot better hardware on it. As we know already that MTK cpu devices dont get much updates so there is no hope this one gets more of them just cause it's Nokia with vanilla droid go.

  • Nah, it' a Freetel ice 2 plus, for your information, Freetel í a Japanese brand and it's pretty popular at there.

  • Nokia 1 is perfectly design for people who are not looking for expensive but rather cheap or backup phone, only things bug me is the fix focus of rear camera :(

  • Is true that 1gb ram can't run Chrome smoothly and that because you got lots of apps running in the background, this thing the Nokia 1 can run Chrome smoothly cause those Go apps don't take much space and with Android 8 you can allow what app to run in the background and what's not, also the junk files is the other reason why Chrome can't run smoothly so I'd say your point is so wrong in every way. And don't call me a fool.

  • I am getting both the Nokia 1.and the Nokia 7 Plus! 😎 😋

  • That's just not true at all.

  • Exactly. Even last year's Vodafone Smart 8 runs Chrome perfectly fine with hardly any lag or stutter! Providing you don't want to play the latest power hungry games on it, and if you do this is obviously not a phone for you, then it should handle most tasks without a problem. I'll definitely be getting this one as a back up phone.

  • At least you have the option of a micro SD card up to 128GB.

  • Such an oddly fine phone and only that am not a fan of unevenly rectangular designs, you know there were these leaks, one or two, which had me following this thing in the first place so i'll wait for a nokia 1, some sort of non android go version, but best somebody gets this to nokia, 4.x inch, hd res, 8mp rear, 2xxx battery, sd 212, the rest is ok. Lv

  • WHAT A BEAST!! That would have been the headline in 2012 for this phone as it has better hardware specs than the Samsung Galaxy S2 and similar to the Galaxy S3. I would recommend this phone to anyone that said "I don't use my phone much and want a good cheap phone" alot of people say this so maybe it will sell well!!

  • 1 gb ram is enough for this device. just 16 gb storage missing.

  • Android go is specifically designed to work well with entry level smart phone. It'll have apps like facebook lite, messenger lite, etc. So I hope the decide won't lag as much as other 1gb ram smartphones do.

  • If 1gb ram can handle so smoothly Like you said than why not a single manufacturer produce a phone with 1gb. Even The great iPhone is moving towards the 3gb ram bandwagon. If ios needs good amount of ram than Android can't go!!

  • I'm using a Moto E 2015 LTE and it can handle Chrome smothly... 1GB of RAM is enough for a lot of users whose only use social networks and IM, Stop talking Sh!@#!

  • If you actually read anything about Nokia phones. Maybe used one. You would know. HMD does ridiculous things with small amount of RAM.

  • HMD didn't take a lesson from the failure with Nokia 2 (which I have and I can make a conclusion Nokia 1 is not much different). This phone would be lagging even for calls and texting. 2 GB RAM is the minimum requirement for any phone in 2018. And no, HMD, I do NOT want to be treated as a user from a developing market, I don't wanna be treated as a fool - 80% of the apps in the Play Store are made for phones with 2+ GB RAM, Android Go doesn't solve anything.

  • Read my lips: Android One. Lets see when Android One version of Chrome is out.

  • Your wrong. People like you are the reason why Nokia fools people the low end market. 1gb ram can't even handle Google Chrome smoothly. Unless your using to call and lite social chat that's it.

  • LOL. you need smartphone under $30. If you can't afford then don't by branded nokia phones you can buy chinese phones of your choice enjoy

  • i wonder why it will be so expansive yet there is no new outstanding future that its have

  • People dismissing 1GB RAM phones are wrong. A colleague of mine has a Huawei Y526 (I think) with a Snapdragon 212 and 1 Gig of RAM and it lags terribly! Meanwhile a kid I know has an AndroidOne Smartphone (The original series) and it's absolutely fluid! So... It depends on software optimization and The Nokia 1 seems to be well optimized. It seems to run quite smooth, judging my a few hands-on video on YouTube which is impressive for such a cheap smartphone.

  • Is it Micromax AQ4502 aka Micromax a1? :)

  • I have a phone that has 1gb ram, 8gb of internal storage and has a mediocre Mediatek chipset but it runs smoothly even though it doesn't have android go, so your point is definitely wrong.

  • Android just can't run with 1gb ram. Go or whatever apps just can't run smoothly with so little ram.

  • Then what are you saying is if these types of mobile are made by reliable and serious companies they can be worth 1000$ right bs

  • 8gb not enough for just whatsapp.

  • But this phone is not for people who need 16GB storage and 2GB RAM, this phone is for people who just need Android Go and basic apps and telephony, and so they can get this for $70 instead of $170.

  • What you're paying for is a quality build from a reliable and serious company, with guaranteed security and OS updates. If you don't care about that, then there are plenty of shady companies willing to sell you a $30 piece of crap with the same chips inside.

  • This worth 30$.

  • It seems great but I expect an old Snapdragon Chip like the S4 Pro or something similar to that...

  • Seeing Many people asking for more from a budget phone! Typical!

  • 720p screen, 16gb minimum storage, 2gb ram should be the most minimum. It's 2018. I know it's Nokia not cheap Chinese phone but it's insult to the consumer when you skip what's essential to provide cheapest possible while the smartphone market have moved on to better things.

  • I think the smartphone's pretty nice, considering the service, brand it's ok ! For those who harvest the golden bird, for them it would be nice, for those labours, it would be a nice deal. But, i wish they had a dedicated MicroSD card slot considering the expanding Jio.

  • Very 2012 specs list... Going with slimmer specs and Android Go for the emerging markets is understandable, but I think that Nokia is shooting themselves in the foot with this phone... for a few bucks more, folks are going to migrate to phones with significantly better performance. Even on the Go platform, devices with significantly better specs are coming. In 2018, nobody wants to use what's effectively a Samsung S3 Mini.

  • Faster but more crippled. Better? A matter of perspective.

  • This is Android oreo go edition phone much better than crap J1.

  • They should have a 720p display, 4.7 inch and a 720p camera, not 480p and 2000mb ram, not 1000. If they use this meager specs like a 4.5 inch, 480p camera and display, just 1 gb ram, it will be a disappointment for Nokia

  • It's will be a super flop phone by Nokia. You have to try like Samsung j1 4G with 16 gb ram 8.5 camera. Phone size is good it's a comfortable size to operate by one hand. But there is no back touch keay options it's flop

  • With android go even a 1GB ram and basic CPU and GPU will be astonishing. This phone is really something for just 80 eur.

  • Some of us like it. It's more convenient than switching apps and prevents the other one from being tombstoned when sent to the background.

  • I dislike that multi window split screen, few others i know do too.

  • 4.7 be bit better!!! but glad to see removable Battery!

  • Android go interesting, this will be cheap...I'm personaly bit tired of paying $100s.........

  • This is actually part of Google's plan by marketing entry-level with Android go, but honestly i disagree at least the entry-level is not so bad, example Xiaomi Redmi 5A with low prices but have good specs, i have idea with specs at least it having: 5,2 inches 720 1280 px 18:9 ratio 2 gb ram 32 GB rom with micro sd 8.0 Oreo 8 mp 5 mp Fingerprint scanner Bluetooth 5.0 3.120 mAh battery

  • Iphone 4s is in flagship price territory when it announced..this is just basic phone with basic price..

  • Lol 😂 what a awesome look lol.... Are you serious Nokia it's 2018

  • Nokia i think you can put the under 5 inch screen, but make the midend prossessor phone for your under 5 inch phone. If i can make your inspirasion. Make the same consep of samsung galaxy a3 And i thing consep xperia p from sony also so cool This is i hope make you to inspirated 4 inch ips lcd with 960x540 pixel make it 275 ppi Give it quadcore prossesor snapdragon 450 or mediatek with GPU mali T720mp, 1,5 GB OF RAM ,16 gb internal memory, 2000 mah up battrai, dual sim slot hybread. Or up the screen 4.5 inch but give it 960x540 pixel it will make 256 ppi.

  • The design reminded me the Meltemi smartphone prototype

  • Please Nokia make it : Screen : 4.5" 7 mm thickness Storage : 8 Gb / 1 Gb Ram Display : 720p hd or 480p Camera : 5 mb front and rear Price 75 eur Quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A7 Battery : 2500 mah

  • Very strong interest with the 4.x inch, pls, make it basic 'hd' res and an 8mp rear, everything else is ok, dont fail, take the cash. Lv

  • This may be an over-exaggeration, but it really isn't, so the Nokia 1 is just worse than the iPhone 4S!

  • hahah they never went bankrupt, not even close :p

  • I hope they'll sell it for an intro price of 3990 or else it'll overrated. I'd go for nokia 2 instead.

  • Simple answer to those asking why. This phone will offer the low users an option for a cheap affordable phone. Not everybody needs a big spec phone.

  • Why nokia is going back to the old roots? They already made bad phones, right before they got bankrupted... Don't make same mistake again NOKIA...

  • worst phone.. redmi 5a far better

  • Why would nokia build this phone? It shouldn't cost even 50$. It's 2018 -.-

  • Not only optimizations.. android go lacks some of the Oreo features... (You can't even do multi window)

  • Android go doesn't have multi window option.. I don't know why they are using android go.. Moreover they will priced it 5000INR, this mobile won't worth that much price.. Like Nokia 2 3 5 6 8 nobody will care about Nokia 1 at least in India if they price it above 5k

  • Price range Willbe low . How they can provide high end space with 69 to 100 dollars .this is low end phone with Google android go.

  • You are free to buy handset with 720p, 1080p, 1980p resolition. Simple dont buy this set, go for other set.

  • Why nokia always show the old spec on their new phone?

  • What is this??? Resolution is low 480x854 like in 2011, camera 5 mpx 480p like in 2010.

  • Not even a HD 720p screen or camera? Junk...

  • if android go is optimized for 1gb i will go for it . we don't need to have lot of animation . if it is possible to call and whatsapp that will be more than sufficient ??

  • Nokia still think themselves to be some Kings though of lost Kingdom!

  • Love yor comments on this!

  • Nine mm thick is enough to put off the whole prospective lookers on this! Can they ever think correct design?

  • Well, Nokia 1 features Android Go which means you will get constant Android Updates in a lite version which means it shouldn't take much space like it normally does + Stock Android which means the RAM won't be used in silly UIs like what happens to Xiaomi, LG and Huawei Phones. Nokia does it best when it is low-range phones. Xiaomi does it well for mid-range phones and flagship for a low price phones. LG does it well for flagship phones like how their V30 is.

  • WOW massive bezels and yet it has on-screen buttons to waste even more space. How idiotic is that?

  • I am skeptical about 1GB RAM phones in 2018. It's too obsolete, even for low-end smartphones. The absolute bare mininum is 2GB RAM.

  • Although this is rumored but there is no difference with Nokia 2 just camera and maybe battery, i just hope HMD global created Nokia Android Go with XpressMusic or model like N series, but at least has specs with 5 inchi, 2 gb ram, 16 gb rom, 8 mp camera, 5 mp, 18: 9 ratio, fingerprint and course with battery enough with 3.400 mAh, have same prices with Nokia 2.

  • LG ARISTO 2 60$ US BETTER FEATURE

  • Pretty big, but maybe it's time to replace my Lumia 520

  • Nokia should launch N series again.

  • The preliminary specifications unfortunately paint this phone as a wallet friendly low end device. I'm somewhat disappointed in camera, but I think this is just budget compact, not mid range compact. Maybe they will change as I am welcome to great compact phones.

  • Still burned about no Nokia 4 phone, but I'm very curious what processor this uses. Please tell me Nokia has Snapdragon 200 or even 400 chipset in this phone, or even any Snapdragon, or else everyone here will trash this phone. Not me because I like Nokia and even other silicon manufacturers, and I would love to have a $50 optimized sub compact Nokia device. Root perhaps?

  • I think that is nokia Zero not one.

  • We want good little 4,5inc or max 135mm good/cheap price telephone. What does it mean 1GB Ram ? 5Mp camera and i msure bad quality capure this camera. i m sure they will bad capacity battery. Sony Xperia xz1 compact perfect but so expensive. We not need this much perfect telephone. Only need same Nokia 6(2018) but 4,5 inc good price. Samsung A3 2017 good but 16 GB Rom so bad and this specification a bit expensive.
