  • I'm sorry but you are wrong! Battery last 1 week easy! Great phone and great camera and great audio with the right headphones! Buy a new battery man! Re soft it with far manager if you have trouble with it! Perfect Sony ericsson camera phone!

  • The battery life is BEYOND abysmal for what I expected from a feature phone! It was at ~70% but then decided not to shut down the phone. 2 hours later, it's at 30%! Nothing going on in the background! What the heck?! This is awful! The only way to preserve the battery is to shut the entire phone down! Moral of the story is, if you're looking for a feature phone with actually GOOD battery life, stay as FAR AWAY from the Sony Ericsson K810i as possible and look for better alternatives! I will be returning this phone later to get another phone with (hopefully) better battery life.

  • You can check on ebay for the phones housing. It can be replaced if you're handy, it's not that difficult to do. Look for a complete original/genuine housing, official Sony Ericsson product. They fit 100%, imitation frames might not fit well.

  • Been using this since 07, looks like it needs a new battery this year or the next one. Used to charge it once a week, now this has gone to twice a week. Other than that no problems, nothing at all, mostly it was used as phone and camera, no games and such, no texting. I think I better stick to this at least until it gets 10 years old, don't think I can find similar life expectancy whatever phone I might buy next.

  • Bought it in 2008 and used it with no problems until a year back started having problems with charging. Charging directly always shows error, so have to charge through USB now which also is problematic as it does not detect well. Overall a good camera phone.

  • Its been 6 years since I have been using this piece. Over all this is a very avg phone, in comparison to the phones that are available now a days. The only issue i faced in it is its joystick, needed to change it a couple of times. but the outstanding aspect, which has glued the phone to me is, its camera. amazing picture quality. the xenon flash is a cherry on the cake. absolute brilliant. But the video quality is not upto the mark.

  • LOL Totally out of this world and totally impossible. Ever wondered why there aren't more Xenon flash phones? Yes, that's right. Because people want torches and video lights. Simple answer is: you can't. Xenon flash works on a discharge, on a flash. Not a continuous emission of light as a led so, the best you can do is what I used to do, use the AF illuminator lamp (that red one that turns on when you focus) as an emergency torch.

  • is's one of the best devices ever produced by sony ericsson especially the camera .its just superb even better than the so called 8.0 megapixel monsters.but there are some glitches too.one is the keypad which is a pain to use compared to my second phone a trusty K750i.the the other thing is that try as i could i cannot use it as a modem to connect to the net.music quality is also a shade below the 750i.the battery is also given up , a charge lasts barely a day (may b because its 4 yrs old....)

  • I agree and confirm what you say. Have mine for 3 and a half years, talk about 2h daily and the battery is as new. Great phone. How good is this phone? well suffice is to say I am a teacher and when I was having a class with those teenage boys hooked on technology and smartphones I arrived and while I was putting my K810i on the desk one saw it and asked me «Was that phone expensive, sir?» I told her not much and asked why, he replied «it looks expensive. It must be a very good phone, it sure does look to be a very good phone». After 3 years of usage and about 4 or 5 after release date to receive such a compliment from teenager does says it all. Try to receive that type of compliment with a new dual core Samsung...yeah...right...

  • oh!!! the best about this phone is the camera!! superb for daily use for collecting clear memory. but the worst thing is it's battery backup.one must choose it if he/she is not worry about the regular charging.

Only «#» key stopped working (but that doesn't affect me...) the rest is good as new even though I used it an awful lot and gave it a bad time, living in a very moisty climate zone. Battery still performs as good as new even though I have done about 700h total talk time. My previous phone had batery changed before it reached 200h.

  • Dedicated camera key stoped working after 2 and a half year of using. But the phone is working good. Baterry last 4 to 5 days, adter 2 and a half year of usage.

  • Riena you are so right! I use also a nokia N97 with carlZeis lenses (weel i almost give up on using it as i prefere my K810i) and the Sony is far better. It looks like the photos are more crisp and clear almost has having more mega pixels and the answer for that is the heavy jpeg compression that Nokia uses. A 5Mpx photo from the N97 has between 300 to 600 something KB and the one from K810 usually starts on 600kb going to almost 800 something KB (top quality) so in the end the photo is and looks far better.

  • No idea what you are talking about... low sound? I hear mine loud and clear and I can make calls easily even in loud places. Maybe yours has some kind of default or you should simply increase the volume...

  • Been using mine for 36 months now, in a very humid environment and no problems with the joystick so far... the # key is gone though... I had a T310i for a very long period of time and it did have a slight joystick problem as it sometimes lost some sensitivity when that happened I disassembled it and cleaned the joystick. maybe you can try that.

  • I've been using it since it launched. And it works great. Just that the camera button couldn't work and i had sent it for repair once because of the keypad. Other than that, it is awesome. Dropped it many many times and it still work. No problem with my joystick. It is a must-get phone!

  • Hi friends, I have been using SE K810i since last 1.5 yrs. Pros: 1.The picture quality is excellent. Comparable with any digital camera. Though the click button is stop functioning within 6months of purchase. 2. Xenon flash is too good to take night shots. 3. Good looks and easy to handle. Cons: 1.The sound is very low. I have to strain my ears to hear particularly in market places. Can anyone help me please to improve the sound? 2. slow 3G speed 3. No edge Recently i am unable to send any sms from this phone. I tried changing my sim also but no success. Please help. Thanks in anticipation. Otherwise the phone is an owner's pride.

  • It's a shame not posting a comment about it. I've been using this phone for 2 years. It's a quite reliable phone. Camera,the earpiece and the keypad is awsome. If I have a simple complaint it would be about joystick. Apart from it this handset is very userfriendly. I don't care about smartphones and I don't want to suffer using them. My next phone will be Hazel but i'm not gonna replace this thing with that. I will be using this phone as long as it works. Love you my K810i and love SE

  • after sales service is poor they are not repaired your phone they change the motherboard if your handset is out of warranty if in warranty they can repair your phone.

  • If you hold the phone horizontal at night with the flash facing up it will be clear,dont hold it vertical.this is something i realised after trying to take night shots.but day shots are amazing no matter how you hold it.

  • I honestly purchased thae latest phones like galaxy s and noka n8 but i took the sim card back out and out in back in my k810 .. this phone is just perfect.love the size ,love the way it slips in the pocket.the battery life,the quality of music on the loud speaker ,browsing is good when you put in opera mini , love the Alarm,stop watch which comes in handy when i jog or at the gym.love the in call quality when making calls and love the way you can actually read the start of a text message without opening the message.this is my phone for life !

  • its a good phone, great flash even at night, the best picture quality. My only problem is on the keypad. I have replaced it for the second time from september 2008. But i dont even want to think of selling. I will keeping the keypads until it blows up. Battery life is ok.

It is the best camera phone in the market, even if it is only 3.2 megapixel you can do a lot with it. The graphics is also nice that makes the themes/colours alive. I haven't changed the battery yet since I bought it. I can say this is the sturdiest phone I ever had. I am actually thinking of letting it rest for now, I love Sony Ericsson that's why I'm thinking of buying Sony Ericsson Android phone. This brand is the best!

  • Guys I am having a problem,in "long" calls (10minutes or more) people stop listening to me and my phone breaks.the only solution is taking the battery off and restart...any help? I already re-installed the latest firmware with seus. If that matter I have a new 2Gb Sandisk Memory card.And never had a problem with my SIM card (it has about one or two years,not more).

  • I can't agree with you, I have a 4Gb memory stick in mine and it works perfectly not getting any slower than with the original 128mb card. I always use the 3,2M pixel resolution with the better quality feature and the files are not that big not even getting to be 800kb in size. You can use 4gb Ms cards at ease. What brand have you but? My memory card is from sony and maybe that does some difference in performance, is that possible?

  • replying to Ratnakar T well I just feel like saying one thing, If that is true, You must have the very best phones in the world in India and I want to move there! Because if this is the worst phone being sold there, well I can just imagine the others! They must be stunning! I have one of these for about 3 years (I bought it as it whas being dismissed so it was an ageing model) and it works almost perfectly never letting me down. Only one thing to report the # key that doesn't work properly but I gave it a LOT, a very LOT of usage and here the weather is so moist that it is quite normal to get those sort of problems in any phone (as it happens in my toshiba Ts605).

  • I've been using the phone for 2 years and 8 months now. VERY durable. Has some minor issues. I have been wanting to change the phone but just when I'm really close to changing it - I don't anymore. I have an attachment with the phone and it works out perfectly fine for me.   • i would suggest as well not to use a 2gig memory card for file storage, though it's the maximum memory storage, coz it slows the performance of the processor ( the phone hangs during the operation)and it may not play or open files on the memory card...i would suggest not to maximize the quality of your camera to 3meg coz that consumes a lot of space on the memory, try to use the 2meg resolution only...and the result is still good..

  • this phone is awesome..this is the 3rd phone i had since 2006. the picture quality is good, though the video quality is not that impressive ( but i use the video very so often) so its fine..some of my friends even thought that i have a digital camera for my pictures..i hope SE could find a way to make the phone wireless capable for internet connection..they may suggest in the future that we can buy an accessory or a software to make the phone wireless connected to the internet..and if that day comes, i'd be the first on the line who will buy that accessory..hehe..the hardware of the phone is durable as well. it fell on the ground for several times and it still works ...

  • I too had the same problem with my phone. lucily it was under warranty. There is a problem with the mother board of the phone you can get it fixed. It was due to excess use of the gprs and downloading. try not to fill in your memory to its full capacity. no other problems as such.

  • I have had many K810i's, because I'm a phone dealer, and I have noticed some common defects (on most of these) on this phone: - Earphone (in the phone) fails quickly - it gets the unclear tone when volume is turned on to about max. - Camera trigger button fails quickly - Joystick on this phone requests a gentle approach, otherwise it also fails very quickly - Charging problems: it's highly recommended to plug the charger jack into the phone first, after that plug the charger into the bushing, otherwise you could get charging failure. - About software: be gentle with the picture viewer, it may happen that the phone resets when viewing pictures of higher resolution (3 mpix). That�s about all I can remember right now. Overall this is a very good phone, but ONLY when using it gently. K810i doesn't tolerate hard usage. All of this goes for K800i also, because K800i and K810i are technically identical.

  • i experienced the same thing when my k810 fell into a bucket of water. the guy who fixed the phone said that the damage was in the LCD, so i had that replaced and indeed, the phone still works perfectly.

  • I have been using this phone since January 2008 and I just love it! Very nice camera with almost perfect xenon flash (lacks the forced flash mode...). It is fast, very good talk and standby time and very sturdy and reliable. Never resets itself or freezes needing to be reset. The Keypad, much has been said about it. It is NOT to small on keys. They are perfect and well spaced. Not like Nokias N70, 71 and 72 which appear bigger but are closer together which renders them impossible to use. Would like to have the space on the 0 and not on the # as usual on SE phones and having a little trouble with one key after much intense wearing and leaving under very high humidity climate.

  • If i had to choose now between k800 and k810 i would choose the first one without any doubt. I had both of them for about one year and the k800 is more durable,especially the keypad.Also the pictures taken with the k800 seem to have more clarity but that depends on the drivers installed. When I saw the k810 for the first time i went nuts about it but when i got it i was a bit disappointed...

  • Its a fantastic phone, i have been using k810i since november 2007 without any major problems. A few months ago the back button was not working which i got rectified from sony service centre. Since then there is no problem. As one would expect from a camera phone, the picture quality is awesome. Even though its a camera phone, the quality of music is better than many other music phones. But dont buy this one if u want to listen your music loud, for me the quality of music output matters and thats wat it gives. And above all the handset looks really cool. Overall a value for money handset.

  • I am using using this phone for the past 2 years. First impression is it is very fat. But I guess that is the price you have to pay for all the goodies inside. What a superb phone. It is an all-rounder. Once I dropped it from the height of 6 feet while I jumped. I tell you the phone is perfect even after that incident. It has given me troubles and it has not gone for any repairs till now. Xenon flash is its + point. I think no other camera phone with 3.2 mp has a xenon flash. Love this phone.

  • I have this phone for more than a year now. i got keypad and screen repaired 5 times in the warranty period. My room mate had the same phone which is completely screwed up now. Keypad screwed up in such a way for me that it used to make calls by itself if not locked. And if locked, i was not able to unlock. Nothing great as a camera phone. Camera suckkkksss. All my previous phones were SE but after getting this phone i am looking for other options now. Definitely a DONT BUY.

  • for the opera mini to work, you have to configure the correct gprs setting or internet setting. use editable server UI handler to be able to open opera mini. default setting of opera mini might be blocked by your network operator.

  • I've had my phone for 2 yrs now - amazing phone!!! A few weeks ago it fell in a puddle of water, completely submerged. After drying it with a fan, it still worked! I've had no problems with any of the buttons (as some ppl stated, especially the directional button) The camera is great, sound is a bit distorted at high volume, and the battery is only lasting about a day to a day and a half, which is understandable after 2 yrs of use. Now it's time to upgrade, either the Yari or maybe the Nokia E52...

  • I agree man. N73 is a good phone and wins over K810 in the video recording capability. I had both these phones and i like K810 more than N73 bcoz N73 had lots of software problems and hanged frequently. Tha headphone sound quality and the pic quality is very very good in K810 (if you use walk-man headsets). But N73 has a larger display compared to K810.

  • Well written comments and I entirely agree with your comments on SE K810. The camera quality is simply outstanding. Most people don't believe my pics are from a mobile phone camera. My 810 developed radiation problems but the SE service centre in India replaced the motherboard and the problem was solved. SE has good after sales service too.

  • Had one for 6 months now, still using it as a secondary unit, but i dont like it. For its age its a good fone, and the camera is like the best, great with xenon flash. I had a 6300 before i got this one, and it felt like a big down-grade. The camera is the only real advantage of k810i, the 6300 didnt come close to this photo quality. The other advantage is 3G, but the EDGE on 6300 felt just as fast.

  • You can't do anything about that unfortunately. It's how cameras work. I have seen a similar effect on regular cameras. The general idea is that the xenon flash is quite powerful at close range. So taking a picture of your friends at a standard distance of 1-3 meters away can ONLY be made by reducing the exposure time so that the subject gets the correct illumination with aid from flash (this is done automatically by camera software. The background doesn't have an identical illumination as the foreground so, because of short exposure, it appears blurry and dark. If you keep the same exposure time and don't fire the flash then the subject will be as unclear as the background. If you manually increase the exposure time (that's possible via camera driver) then the background will be as clear as it would be when taking the photo without the flash, but your friend will be white and glowing as a flash light ^_^ you don't want that...

  • I have been using this phone for more than 2 years. Excellent 3.2MP Camera,Sound clarity is superb if we use ear piece, better battery life and this phone never hangs. The drawback is it's dialpad and other keys. Camera clicking button will not work after usage for around 3 months and navigation keys is getting stuck if water goes in.Speaker volume is not that good compared to other sony ericsoon cells. I will rate 7/10 for this phone

  • Yes dude. The stereo speakers not outstanding but is good. Use a walkman headset for the best music experience. HPM-70, HPM-75 and HPM-82 works great for my K810. The sound effect in these headsets and mind-blowing.

  • i have been using this phone for 8 months, but the only thing i am having a problem is the camera, when i take picture in dark place or inside the bar (with flash turn on), the quality of the background picture is low, its dark. the only clear portion is the person in the picture, but behind that person its all blurry and somewhat dark. if i take picture in some lighted places like inside the mall and the flash is turn on, the picture seems dark in the background.   • This phone had been my best friend since a long time and until now i have been facing no problem at all. it is a very nice phone. camera quality is superb. and sound quality is outstanding if you use a walkman earpiece. i use the W980's ear piece for listening to music and it can beat the original w980s sound quality. the speaker phone is a bit low, despite that the speaker phone quality is really nice. i havent tried the video call as 3G is not applicable in the country where i live, so no idea about that. and yeah the battery life is more than awesome! it takes maximum thirty minutes to get fully charged and lasts for three days in my hand after so much hearing music. but now i want to sell this phone as i dont like to use a phone for more than a year. so this time i am planning to buy W595. but will really miss my k810i.....cheers~

After two years, the middle button doesn't work anymore and because I'm a BIG TEXTER, the bottons have to be pressed harder than normal for any letters to appear...   • Hello, I am using this phone for the last 10 months. Its is really nice with image stabilizer option. Good image catcher. But the video recording is not up to my expectations. It records videos @ 177x144 where the screen resolution is 320x240. That may be the reason. Else everything is fine. Good java software support.

  • Yes this is indeed a wonderful phone for camera. and for browsing i normally dont use the phone default browser. i have downloaded the opera mini and use that. the speed is awesome despite not having edge connectivity. and if you have 3g supplied by your network supplier then it will be awesome...it has awesome sound quality as well. i use a walkman series handsfree and the sound quality is almost equivelant to walkman series phone. and thats it!

  • yo, i've experienced the same thing too. my keypad went crazy, it won't function at all. it happened during the first 2-3months when i got the cellphone.. the best thing to do is bring it to a Sony ericsson store, and have it repaired.. it took about half a month before it was repaired, but it was worth it, i haven't experienced any problem ever since.. and it's been a year.. g'day!

  • I think the biggest disadvantage of K810 is that it doesn't suport WLAN. It's a very good thing if you don't like to spend bunch of money on Internet.

  • EDGE is enchanced Internet, and most of the 3G phones have it. It's nothing that important. The Internet is pretty fast for non-EDGE phone. But if you want EDGE, K810 has a twin EDGE phone K818.

  • Hey, just wanna say be careful with tuning. I tuned mine K810i and the speaker went dead after month or two, so I had to have it repaired. It's a good phone, though. I've had it for 2 years now. =)

  • Oh, please, just please! 1st thing: if they don't fix your phone in less than a month, they have to give a new one to you. And 2nd: Motorola WASN'T, ISN'T and WILL NEVER be better than Sony Ericsson. Nor will be any other phone manufactor. They produce good, not stupidly expencive(like Nokia) and nice designed phones.

  • They're the same, except K810's got TrackID function and different design. Actually, I've never seen a point of making exactly the same phone that was only different from the outside than the original one, but I still like my K810i more (because of the design, ofc). =)

  • you better dont use joystic at all. use buttons instead. for example for camera press 4 and such for other functions.when entered your choice then press the appropriate button.you can do all functions without using joystic.i have done so with my k750 and 770. this is more comfortable after a while.

  • I totally loved this phone until recently when my buttons stopped functioning and the plastic sheet covering the key pad cracked from (1) to the (*). Everything else on the phone is awesome, it�s very practical and very techno orientated. The only problems I've experience are the poor keypad functionality, my (7) doesn�t work at all! And the phone occasionally freezes, apart from the occasional disconnection of the battery, it�s a pretty decent phone. Good picture quality, only negative thing I can say about the camera is that a digital camera does a far better job with night time shots! The flash isn't strong enough and pics often come out dark. During the day the quality is brilliant for a 3MP camera. Having said that, I would still recommend a NOKIA to any future consumers. Stick to a brand that�s most reliable! I�m kicking myself now for not getting the E51! At least you know the buttons won�t suddenly stop working. I have to take my K810i in for repairs this week and I haven�t even had this phone a year yet :(

WANT EARLIEST ACTION PLEASE

  • Sigh**** It's just sad and quite a shame to humanity for people hating a specific brand just because they chanced upon a defective one. Like c'mon, Have you read reviews with other brands as well? They all have issues as well, albeit, even more than SE. Now that I finished ranting, I had a fair share of problems as well, especially with the first K810 I had, Luckily, the good people at SE Customer Support provided me with a fresh replacement (ergo still within 1 year warranty) and I loved it. Although I have to admit that the keypad on this one is truly horrendous. Delays when taking pictures is truly a head bashing experience, although, one must understand, this is a phone in the first place, not a camera. So It has to perform multiple tasks at the same time, plus at least the quality is great (Vs. Nokia which is good for kiddie or amateurish photographers, admit it!) As for the battery performance, although K810 is quite an old timer, still, with 10 hours talk time (maximum) vs Nokia, which I had almost 7 of them, All of which wouldn't even last a whole day the way I use phones. Again, this phone has it's ups and it's downs. All it needs is that people be more realistic and not so narrow minded. Nokia's rule is coming to an end. You are just to blinded but loyalty and name to face it.

  • Well Vali make a lot of sence...but, This particular model 810 has got something wrong..i have used K750 and k810 both..K810 is kind of made of cheam quality..withing few months of usage it starts giving u trouble..as per me ..on design i would rate - 7/10 , Feature - 7/10 and performance - 3/10..

  • Ok! let's get something straight...every piece of electronics is made to break at one point or another...this is because of the need for profit...if the phone would be perfect, then nobody would want to buy anything else. Corporations are always trying to push the barriers for new errors, but they'll never find a perfect balance, so dis-functionality is inherent in every type of product, regardless of brand name or technology availability; it's fraudulent, it's corrupt, unfair, inhumane etc etc...but this is reality, so it doesn't matter if it's Nokia or SE or anything else, it's clear that you have very high odds of buying a useless piece of garbage; the best you can do is to get a phone that appeals to you and hope it works in you're benefit.

  • key pad problem, buttons are not good..charger port is defective gets loose..camera button on the side dose not funtion after some time..video quality is extremely poor. talk time not too great like nokia...keys loose the color the crome finish and turn rusted after a year or so..the only one positive is the 3.2Mpx cam is good..   • I have had a k810 for 2 years and still think it was a very good choice. Haven't had any problems and find it very user friendly.

  • n82's flash is way way better than this one.. but its also a xenon flash,right? a shame on k810 that its flash gets great pics but some are dark and not quite good. in some pics, u still need to use photofix for the pic will be better. unlike in n82. its like a digicam.! perfect. i'd prefer my c902 and n82 rather than this. c902 is cooler than this one.. :)

After few months of usage the talk time would reduce, the buttons will get jammed.the joystick will not function...only ONE THING WILL REMAIN...THE CAMERA...then u stop talking and start clicking...good for amature photographers.

  • To those who are complaining about batteries that drain so fast, try to set the display brigtness to 50%. Though it will make the display dim, you will get used to it. My battery lasts for 3 days(if I'm not using it to call frequently). Xenon flash drains batteries fast too, but what do you expect? It is a very bright burst of light. I have been using this phone for 10 months now, so far no complains. Superb experience.

K810i will support till 2gb max..it is advisable that you don't extend it more than 2gb. regarding sound quality...since its not walk-man series, you wont be getting that good sound....but the quality is very good ....very good phone...have to take care of camera and headset....rest all is "ROCK ON"

K800i and K800i are simply AMAZING ! very good to use.. but after reading all of these comment i had notice that none of the users are doing this.. but to give some extra burl on the PICTURES.. you can edit it just click on 2 things on the edit photoDJ..1st thing is the LIGHT BALANCE click on it ( dont overdue ) , second and last is the BRIGHTNESS and CONTRAST..( on that part you can choose to have your picture darker or you can have a lighter skin and even perfect complexion there .) PICTURes taken can get even better.. so perfect.. =)

  • yes its a joystick....even i was considering not to buy it but because of its superb camera and xenon flash all the features which a good phone should have i bought it. moreover the phone's very good too....one of cousins been using it for over a year now n he didnt had any complaints with it at all... this phon's camera is considered the best in 3.2 mp n it competes with some 5 mp camera phoe's tooo... i must say you should go for it if you are more into pictures you wont repent later on....

  • Hello Guyz, I need your help please. Which one should I choose, c702 or k810i? I liked c702's looks and it's splash proof feature and all, but the down side is its LED flash. It doesn't have a lot of cybershot feature like the k810 have. This phone is a balance between a walkman and a cybershot phone though. But I'm more on to pictures. Unlike K810i, it got this image stabilizer, red eye reduction, Best-Pic and most of all, a xenon flash. The only thing I don't like about k810 is its navi key that looks like a joystick. On my previous experience of this type of navi key, it got busted in less than a year!!! These are also the comments of my friends...I also am not comfortable with the looks of the keypad though (hehehe). But with its cybershot feature, this phone rocks.. What do you think should I consider in choosing between these two phones? Any advise from SE fans? Thank you very much in advance.

  • 850 is a failure model and out of market now. it was 5 mp compared to 3.2 in 810i. 810 is a very gud success model nd u can very well go ahead wit d buy

  • even i bought this phone three days back. no its not a defect in your phone..the volume is a bit low but its alright...this part of the phone is only a bit problem rest is fine...other features of the phone makes up for this. but the sound quality is just unbeatable with handsfree...n the camera simply rocks...

  • I got this phone for 2 weeks now. Every feature on this phone is ok except for the battery life. I need to recharge within a day with minimum usage. Is it my battery only cus i didn't see any body complaining about it.

  • if you are a picture enthusiast, this phone's definitely for you. The xenon flash makes every take amazing even in the darkest places. the only problem with this is its durability. i bought this phone last dec 2007, yet the keypad got busted after 6 months. i have 2 friends with the same phone (we bought the unit at the last quarter of the year, nov and dec '07) and we all experienced the same problem at almost the same time. i just got lucky because my motherboard didn't get busted after the keypad gave up. their phones suddenly didn't turn on, although there were lights from the keypad that would flicker, but it was of no significance at all because the phone still won't work. when they had it diagnosed, they found out that the problem was the motherboard. and just a heads up, it would cost you almost the same price as the phone to have it replaced.(at least here in the philippines) otherwise, the phone is good although memory capacity is too small for the songs, videos, and pictures to fit.

  • this phone is awsome!! I just got mine this week and its one of the best phones I've ever had. even though it might be a little old I still choose this over the newer 5mp phones. Camera is one of the best you can buy with this price range it matches up with some of the 5mp phones i've seen and used. needless to say the xenon flash is soo handy when taking night shots. Its soo easy to use and fast too. battery is good last me a few days with constant use. sounds is ok, won't beat the walkman phones though. But i use my i pod for music anyway. I just love it.

  • Having owned both the SE K800 and K810 there are a few differences. The K810 has a recessed camera so it doesn't jut out at the back like the k800. It is still a 3mp camera with bright xenon flash though. The keypad is strikingly different to the k800, with round metallic keys that despite appearances are really easy to text on. Apart from that there is very little difference in the phones - apart from the price tag that is! It's not really worth the extra cash to upgrade to the K810 as there is precious little difference to the k800.

  • I could offer you some great advice. I've had my fair share of experience in buying and ACTUALLY using them for some time. I'm using k810 right now and it has been more than half a year since. I've had no problems whatsoever with it. The camera is superb. Major difference in feature between the two phones is that with K810, it has XENON flash, which means you can take a picture with more details at a wider range, as compared to K770, which provides only LED flash, obviously incomparable to K810.

  • Oh and the reason I bouth it new one yesterday? THe Xenon flash, you make perfect pictures of your friends in the clubs, disco.

  • I have my own K810... I don't any problem with my phone.. though it lack some control on playing the video.. unlike SE walkman (you know what I mean). And thats basically it. the sound is loud and good. the picture is great. you could even try shoot a moving fan and get the pics as if it is not moving at all.Try it, everybody with K810. By the way I got my phone last 27-Jan-08. and it's beenn a year now.

  • When it's new and until the joystick stops working it's great. My joystick has stopped working properly, now something that should take a few seconds can take a few minutes. Trying to scroll your calls list and dialing people you don't want to is bad. Not being able to adjust camera exposure is bad etc, etc, etc.

  • OOPS !! I've owned this phone for about 5 months now ...I know it's not a very long time but let me tell you that so far it's been really good. First of all I don't even need a digital camera since I have my phone with me all the time and it takes great pictures. It takes better pictures than phones with 5mp cameras. The battery life is really really really good ...at least 2 days with heavy usage ...I talk and text a lot. If U got any questions post them here and I'll try to reply as soon as possible. My advice: BUY THIS PHONE.

  • Yeah, k810i music quality same as the legendary w800i. It's hardly to find se phone with w800 music match. So buy..buy..buy! But i wish it has a flash lite app. Kinda jealous with nokia web display though.. They had macromedia flashlite.wish se add flashlite in their product too later. I want flashlite for my k810i too. I heard this turbine mobile but i dont know if it will work...adobe flashlite it has exe extension. Umm i thought it only work for smartphone.while k810i not that smart..hiks T_T what should i do to make my k810i had flashlite too..

  • And about the Joystick thingy, Ive had my w800i for almost 3 years...No repair, damage or whatsoever on the JOYstick......Still working as espected til now with no complains..... ** Its just how you use and handle the phones man!!!!! I even play java games all the time and place it in my pocket and threw it up in the air(plain w/ the phone)SO i'm considered a heavy user and txter but..look now...its still okey.. So i beliv that i can manage the K810i's joystick as well HAHAHAHAHa.

Ive tried all the features and made some tests and comparing, and everythings perfect...Im a SE fan since iv used the W800i..Superb phones.... Ive tried comparing the sound quality between w800i and K810, w800 has an amazing internal spkr(just a bit louder) compared to the K810 but its okey...Using the external headphones, (i cannot HEAR any diffrence at all) Both have, or even K810 has superb and crisp sound quality...Its still like a walkman-cybershot phone..HAHAHAH Ive tried comparing my K810i to the my dads K800i and my moms k790.....and this K810 is so amazing Picture quality and its even better(maybe its because of the display(lcd) coz mine is a new one LOL!)....hope it'l last forever.....with my w800i as as backup phone... Nokia phones SUCKS!!! even the 16M display(dead and boring UI)GEEEEZZZZ by the way im adjusting on the keypad coz it has low buttons but its okey

  • Yes,i had n it can't be played too. What a shame cos some article specs review k810i support aac too. Well it can saved lots of free memory if it had.. :-(. But still like my k810i hehe.. ;-)

  • I already used k810i for 1 year, actually i prefer navigation pad than joystick though but num keypad its more fast for menu but joystick for texting it's kinda disturbing, i like more navi way though..n for speedy texter not so good there little lags.music is cool with headset on music bass louded like w800 except it has no megabass yet, i'm quite satisfied with the bass. But still love w800 music loudness.Net is good 2,depends on simcard provider service. Oh yeah the UI is much better than k800,it's fixed. The speaker not as louder w850i. The camera is superb. The screen is bright n sharp, wish se brand release 16 mil colours large screen for their latest product along with their camera megs improvement :D. But k810 is satisfaction to me..

  • K810 is rily a good phone. The handling system is good and fast, the camera is very good (even if u compare to k850),call voice clearity is WOW, music sound ok ok,and its size is perfect. Mind you my k810 keypad no problem at all(dont use it like bull fighting la u guys). The weakness is it did not support advanced animated themes, unable to install more external software like symbian 60, and video quality not good. Other than that, it is more than OK!!

  • hi..i bought my phone,march2008..the phone is functioning well..the joystick and the keypads..thou its kinda messy sometyms..u know..d keypads..the camera..i love it! but after 6 months, my phone shut down.i brought it to SE and they told me that system failure and they need to change the mother board and it's very expensive.it's like u buy a new one..so my father brought it to a cheap technician and it's now working again..but i'll gonna dispatch it soon..hu knows it myt breakdown again..:(

  • I wouldn't recommend this phone. had it less than six months and the joystick thing has almost stopped working which makes it hard to use and the buttons don't work very well and don't push in properly.

  • Had my phone fixed by Sony Ericsson. It all started with the joystick which was reacting too slow when I pressed it. According to SE, the K series' main problem is the key foil. It destroys easily. I was even surprised because I rarely use my unit and still it was damaged. Not wise to spend this much for a unit which was used only for less than a year! :(

  • So do Nokia's havent you seen the N95, N95 8GB, N96, N85 and the list goes on......there all the same! Anyway atleast K810i has a Unique design which no other phone has! K810i also runs on one of the best UI's around and the Camera and battery life is amazing on it! also the Keypad and Joystick takes time to get used but once your used to it it will be excellent to use!   • actually I am not sure how many sms it can keep, but one thing for sure, i didnt delete my sms from may till nearly december and the hp once let me know that i have use up 95% of the sms memory. that is what i encountered

  • The main difference is N70 uses Symbian and K810 not. The rest of it K810 has much much better features quality.

  • to "qasser": I've used this phone for the past 5 months now. I've only deleted the messages twice so far (from all the folders (inbox, outbox, sent items, drafts) and that was because they were way to many (about 50 or more in each folder). I don't think (although I don't know for sure) it has a memory limit for messages. If it only uses the phone memory it's still enough for more than 2-300 messages (from my experience).

  • hi. k810i is really good phone amazing...well nokia mostly hangs,haha i hate noika cellphones cos they immediately gets virus and as always it hangs...besides???nokia are the cellphones that always coipies the face of mostly motorola and se cellphones...but motorola cellphones never hangs also and never gets a virus also like the copycat noikia... and maybe why nokia keep copying faces of motorola and se phones because thy're scared no one would want to buy their cellphones because they can't make it looks so stylish

  • sony ericsson k810i got all best features, even a great 3g i can tell this because i have this cell for 5mos.now this dec and what's the most amazing thing about this cell is that this cell got a xenon flash all nokia model units doesn't have a xenon flash except for their nokia n82 only haha,... i also got motorola rokr e8 just incoming 1mo. this dec.15 and what i can say about e8 is good at music like ipods,and i enjoy using e8 with a classy headsets and sometimes a headphones..... and i have motorola razr v8 for 1year and 1mo.already this dec.11 what i can say for motorola v8 is that cell have a large touch-screen that's the main screen when v8 is flipped to close and v8 is super slim i like the stunning keypads of v8 and it has a mirror cam.by the main screen of this cell

  • pictures on wapsites are dependent on the speed of your provider, if your provider gives you slow connection then that's the time you experience no pictures shown on sites

  • I've had this phone for a few months now and all I've got to say is that it's a great phone. Battery life lasts forever with heavy usage. I don't know why people are complaining about the joystick and the keys because they work perfect. It's a different phone but nice. Every time when I go out with my friends I don't need to take my digital camera since I can take great pictures with my phone. Before I used to have a Treo 680 and I wasn't sure I was ready to switch, but now I am happy I did. Even with texting after I got used to it I'd say I text faster than with a qwerty keyboard. (Thank God for T9) =) Over all it's a very good phone. Thank you Sony Ericsson =)

  • hi! u shud configure ur gprs settings depending on da country wer u are. select dat settings as da default homepage in ur browser and make sure dat u have a stable account or sufficient balance if ou using prepaid. i assure u gat ur pone is working fine, its just a matter knowing ur pone well. try also to refresh ur pone by turning it on and off 2 times if ur pone is having some problems.

  • about da slow motion thing, open da camera, select settings, then select scenes, then select portrait.

  • generally se phones r not reliable... they have many features under 1 roof.. but if u really see the performance its nothing compared to nokia and motorola.. speaking about camera: the camera and speaker in se will be better when compared to other brands but that is not the criteria for deciding a phone.. i agree that se cameras r far good and better than nokia because camera and walkman r the trademarks of sony corporation but wat about mobile technology and reliability.. in mobile technology ericsson is like a small baby when compared to nokia.. a good phone means it should have all optimal mobile features and strong signal receiving capability which is very important.. in this section se r worst..dropping calls for no reason,hanging.. because i have used both se(k790i) and nokia(n73music edition).. i personally feel nokia is worth and value for money.. se r not value for money... so dont see the entertainment features like camera etc etc,see the mobile features and then buy ur phone..i dont have any conflicts with se company,but after using both nokia and se.. i came to know that nokia is very much reliable,worth for money, and with some average features.. the next big giant in mobile technology would be motorola...my friend is using motorola he doesnt face any problem in last 1.5 years..thats a great sign of reliablity..
