AWESOME PHONE! Bought it in 2003 and is in perfect condition in 2019. TOUGH as a rock. Perfect shape to hold. You feel like it's designed to sit on your ear. Would be great to be able to import phonebook. Also I have to buy a PrePay 2G SIM for it as my carrier has a 3G only network. :(( TODAY my new battery will arrive. New technology 1400 mAh!!! It will be awesome and I will start using it again.

Just got this amazing brick for £16 in good condition from eBay. I used to hate the design and the startup screen used to scare me for some reason a few years ago. This phone was announced on 6 September 2002 and released in December 2002. Mine is on version 5.35 firmware (17 August 2004). By the way, we know that pretty much all phone websites do not specify the screen size of phones with a screen like this e.g. 3310, 6510, 3510i, 3410. I measured the size and it is 1.6" with a resolution of 96x65 giving it a pixel density of 72.

Nokias first colored yet tough phone!!!! Dropped mine accidentally like 30 plus times now leg height and still going strong.... Only replaced battery twice and still can last a week or more before charging and got lots of funky snap-in covers to boot.... Still my primary calling/texting phone to date as I need it to last days before needing to charge.

Does anyone know what the calendar is like on this phone? On my current Nokia I can put recurring appointments in the calendar and there is also no limit as to how many appointments I can put in the calendar. With my old Nokia, I cold only put 10 appointments in it so it was very frustrating if I had more! Thank you.

Good mobile phone... I surf the net using opera mini 3 on this phone. Sometimes connection is stable and unstable.. But it's okay atleast I tested. This is my first colored screen phone. It's nice!

Very solid old phone. Would not buy it again NOW but it is still great for older people or someone who doesnt care about camera and entertainment. The battery is great, goes for ages. The phone is loud and very tough. My Nokia had many accidents, was in the water, sand, rock concerts, survived all. After 10 years is still alive with only two keys broken. Bit bulky / fat and heavy but still great. Recommend!

I have had this mobile since they became available. I have had just one new battery and two key pads. A great mobile if all you need is to make calls and send text. I have no intention of changing it until it is no longer repairable. I have a separate camera and GPS so why do I need a high tech mobile.

I agree. It had the best battery life of any mobile phone that I have owned. 14 days with low use. My modern touchstone phones last a day at most. Since I am constantly on the net, checking e-mail or should I say junk mail! GPS also eats the battery life etc.

Best 'phone out there,and I've had a few from the off, worn one? cheap as chips to fix,sticking keypad? put another on for pennies,yes I use Smartphones for business but the old 3510i(I carry a couple as calls are never dropped,great audio both ends) is always with me for ultra reliabilty,and the battery life is phenonemal!What 'phone can you glance at and grin?a Nokia Masterpiece...you can even get on the 'net with it..amazing.Driving safe and legal with a two quid headset,,,I dislike the Bluetooth as it's a powerful radio..to be wary of...cables carry signal better,improve reception, and transmission, anyone knowing of radio propagation will know this.Nokia 3510i to be enjoyed!

Bought this phone 7 years ago this month, its my only mobile and used every day. Everything is as original. I charge it once aweek on average on occasions it lasts 12/13 days. No complaints. It s getting on now, buttons sticky, having trouble finding suitable replacement.

I first got a phone in the summer of 2003. Its been almost 7 years now that I have had a new phone.The reason, the phone that I got was a Nokia 3510i. Built to last, this piece is a legend. I have dropped it a gazallion times, fell into a puddle, was an object of interest for a pack of stray dogs...and yet, it does everything it is meant to do even after 7 years. Sure, the numbers on the buttons have worn out, the keypad has been phased out, so it cannot be changed, the skin cannot be changed, but hell, who needs all that when you have a mini-sherman in your hands. My friends have changed a lot of phones since 2003, but this one stands like a rock. Such a shame that today's folks look forward to changing their phones in a year or somthing, maybe thats because they don't make them like the 3510i anymore.

i bought this phone back in 2003 and i am still using it after all these years. it is very reliable. the built-in browser sucks, but you can install opera v3.1 web browser on it and surf the net including new services like tweeter (it's slow but it's working quite well). i changed the battery once in 2008 when its capacity went to low but at this moment two years after the standby time is very good.

Found one lying around a friend's house, collecting dust, with a cracked and scratched 3530 housing, and a not so obvious crack on the middle of the LCD. Well, he ain't doing that phone justice! So i decided to ask him if he still needs it. Fortunately he said no and gave it to me. after cleaning it, getting a fresh housing for it and loaded some of my midi ringtones onto it, I explored the phone's functions and features. And I have to say, It's a hell of a phone. As tough as its predecessors such as 3310, Simple to use and practical. Even though i already have a 5800XM by my side, I'll be using this 3510i for quite awhile!

This is a super phone - I absolutely have no problems with this phone, its reliable, the sound quality is great and the battery life is also very good, i only need to charge the phone once every week. I like the big buttons, it makes it easy to work on and the phone is light and feels very comfortable in one's hand. This is really a good phone to have.

i bought my 3510i in october 2004 and it is still with me today, working like a clock.it has been dropped more times than i can remember but it is such a robust model that it just keeps going. sure, by today's standards its basic but for sheer practicality it is unbeatable. the battery life is on the wane though and im sure its end is nigh but if the salesman had told me back then that for the 150 euros i paid for it that i would have 4 and more years of reliable service i would not have believed him. a legend of a phone and because of it, when i go to buy a new phone, i certainly will be buying a nokia.

@Zostex I have no idea, actually. My phone was completely resetted about 1.5 years back and so the counters where also set to zero again. Calltime is now on 450 hours. So that would mean that in five and a half years the total callduration would be about 1350 hours. Not too extreme. The SMS-counter got resetted also,but now has 4587 recieved and 2496 send messages. So that would be around 15.000 recieved and 7500 send SMS-messages in five and a half years. Not that much, considering the fact I know some people who claim to send a thousand SMS-messages a month. I'm just nog much of a phone-person I guess ;-)

Yes, this phone is ugly. Yes, it's shaped like a brick. Yes, it's heavy. Yes, it's too big. Yes, it has a few annoying softwarebugs like suddenly locking the keypad while typing a SMS. Yes, it has an extremely low screenresolution, only a few colors and the display is not readable in bright daylight. But still, I love this phone. Why? Because I bought this nice piece of electric engineering on 17 december 2002 (early christmas present for myself ;-) ), and it hasn't let me down ever since. The batterytime is still very good, lasting almost a week with normal usage. Ofcourse, it lasted longer when it was new, but hey! What do you expect after almost 5 and a half years? All my friends have bought at least several new phones after 2002, because their old ones would malfunction after a while. But not for me. The Nokia 3510i is build like a tank and made to last forever. And yes: I would like a camera on my phone, and a MP3-player would be nice too, but as long as this 3510i is still working, I'm not buying another one. And altough the case is all scratched and dented, and the key's no longer have any visible numbers on them, I still think this phone will easily last me another five years, as long as the battery keeps working. It really is a shame that newer phones aren't built so good as this one.

It's great phone! I still using it although im starting to thinking about retiring it as the battery last only a day or few calls. I admit - i never really liked it appearance but i don't care when it lasts like a tank. I droped it few time on a hard ground and nothing happened. It's full of scars and buttonedges are missing it's colors but thats the sign we've been together a long time. i love it.

Im having this phone since 2004 and my total call duration is not less than 3000hrs. Still I my talk time in the phone mostly more than 3hrs. Im very much satisfied with this phone. Once I dropped it on the road when I was riding my bike. No harm happened to the phone only few scrtch marks on the housing. It's very reliable durable phone one can have.I love my phone. Very durable and reliable. Both me and my girlriend have ones. My girlfriend wetted my phone and after that we just left it aside for several months. It got quite rusty inside. Six months later I brought it in for repair out of curiosity. They repaired it (twice as the firs time was not good enough) and after that I have been using this phone for more than 3 years. Only minor accidents which I attribute to the wetting. My battery now dies for 3 days instead of the usual 6-7 days. Same with my girlfriend's phone.

I have a Nokia 3510i and is the must available and rezistent mobile phone.I'm lucky with this device, is my best friend, never let me alone, betwen -25 to +60 degree Celcius (from Europe to Africa). 3310, 3410 and 3510i... 3310 is thwe still the king, but for 3510 i (i never had the 3510 simple)i must say the same kewy word: simplicity. Li Ion battery, colours, GPRS and fast writting SMS keypad...I have the phone from the beginning of 2004 and is working well. A battery change and some minors speaker incidents. Main disadvantage for the 3510 i - the dimension, too big in comapration with 3310 or 3410

look at alcatel e260. one of my friends have one. my nokia is smarter than that crap. i have better sognal, better battery and not to mention wap/gprs, mms (mine haves a bigger screen o_0, i realise the alcatel haves a resolution of 101*80 and nokia 96*65, but it is easier for me to find applications) and other facilities. alcatel is a 2006 model and nokia 2002. this is an obvious "evolution".

are you serious? (for those who are complaining that this phone doesn't have bluetooth and camera). I don't think you should use a mobilephone (try a simple home wired phone ;) ). my first phone was a sony er t100 (that was really rubish: bhattery max 3 days unused, signal very poor). after one year I bought this nokia (in 2004). I was charmed. Last year I bought sharp tm200 and i had to give my nokia (I missed this phone). but I took back and now I have panasonic x700 and nokia 3510i. I went in the mountains and I realised that the panasonic was useless but the nokia never lost the signal. I talked even in the basement with one signal line. so think again. why you need a 250$ which is useless for calling and the battery dies instantly? I use the 3510i as a back up phone and the x700 as a useless stylish phone

A great phone to have and use when all of these superdooper phones that cost an arm and a leg packup, snigger snigger. I`ve had my 3510i for a few years now and it has never let me down, its as reliable as my 3330 which I still use now, not a superdooper cost an arm and a leg one. I am trying not to laugh(honest). And to all those sad-oh gits out there that have nothing else better to do accept whinge and moan about something that they think is not cool, " GET YOURSELF A LIFE ". When they suddenly realise that they are paying a fortune for something that doesn`t last very long and is basically crap, maybe they might start thinking "if I do some homework first (that means I am finking), maybe people might not think that I am really sad (not fick)", yeah right, in your dreams. Next time read the instructions(try using big letters), it says no camera and no bluetooth fick-oh. It is nice to come across people that open their gob before engaging the brain, it beats watching the crap on tv. To all the people that like this phone, "good on you" and hopefully phones as good as the 3510i will go on for a long time and put to shame all these so-called clever people out there(I fink, therefore I am not fick) yeah right, dream on and figure out one day what an education is, you might even surprise yourselves, snigger snigger. What can I say about him? I bought it in the begining of 2003 and its price was almost 200$ (in Romania). I was very cool and popular that period because nobody else had a colour phone. I was very proud of it and never let me down while all my friends had Nokia 3310 or the lucky ones 3410. Its 4096 colors and polyphonic tones beat everyone. I loved that phone because it was perfect, no software bugs and the battery lasted around 10 days!!! Unfortunatly at the end of 2005 it begun to turn off a few times a day without reason. I ignored the problem and 1 month later, shut down and when I turned it on remained on only 30secs. That was the end of it, it couldn't be repaired(I've even tried a new battery but it still turned off after 20-30 seconds. After that one I had a Philips 355 and now I have a Sony Ericsson K510 but I still miss the simplacy of my Nokia 3510i. I still have it. I sometimes open his box and turn the time back reminding the good time that we spent toghether. So for all of you that still has this model, just think one sec and be proud of it 'cause my opinion is that Nokia 3510i is one of the world's legendary mobile phone. I hope I didn't bored you.

This is a very good phone, i had it for 1 and a half year, i have buy it after i've losed my brand new nokia 3220, i've paid 30$ and it was the best investment i've did in a cellphone, now my father it's using it, i have a nokia 6630, a sagem my700x and a motorola v177, but i have to say that 3510 it's still a great phone, the signal strength is best , i live at country, and the signal here is not so great but with 3510 there is no problem, it's batery last 6-7 days, depends on how much it's used, you can use mms, with no problem, it's rings loud and it vibrate , you can set diferent ringtones for every user, but you have to be a litlle smarter to do it :)), the only problem i ever had it is the screen in a sunny day, no software bugs, no other problems, i have friends that have this phone, business partners, etc, and all says that is the best phone to use, if u want more buy an ipod or a dslr camera, this is for talking and sending messages, and the very important thing is that is very resistent, i have a very annoying little brother, and when he annoyed me i had trowed with the phone after him , it hit the walls , the concrete, and i have droped from the second floor on ground, and what is wonderful is that it still works like in the 1st day, i've changed 3 Xpress-on covers till now but this it was the only defect. if you need a very reliable phone, if you talk a lot, and if you need great signal strength this is the phone for u, it,s big, it's not a stilish phone, but it,s a real phone, not a toy for litlle babys who takes crappy pictures and who plays with their tones of mp3's , just for others to hear that thei are cool , and they have an mp3 phone, want a real mp3 get an ipod, or an iriver.

Andreia. If u 4got your security code, here is a link, that helps you "decode" your phone: you have 2 introduce the IMEI, and it'll generate a security code, that'll work. Have a nice day

I dont understand why people dislike this phone. Its reliable, user friendly and fun. Ok it might not have a camera but all the camera phones i have had the camera has gone wrong and ive had a lot of camera phones. Ive had this phone as a back up for 3 years now and i still havent had a problem with it. Im using it again because my SE K750i camera wont work, it constantally resets itself and it always says memory stick full when i have 38mb of memory left. Anyway enough of my problems with my K750. All in All this phone is excellent if you want something without a camera but with some fun features. Or if you just want a basic phone!

I have this phone since 2004 and i had minor problems: software bugs-"Please insert sim card" message appeared, and could not receive mms. I made a software update at the local service and i had no problems since then, a very good phone! The battery lasts for 5/6 days(and it has 2 years) keeping in mind that the phone is turned off during night time. :)

This is the best phone Nokia ever made. I have mine for more than two years now. It's realy resistan,I've dropped it hundred of times on cocnret, grass, and once in watter, and the phone still works, hell, the cover is still in one piece. Best of all, it doesnt have all those flashy things like camera, bluetooth etc, so there isnt much things which can be damaged easely The battery is amazing, it lasts now for 5-6 days now (after more then two years). the only problem is that my keyboard now doesnt respond immidiately, no wonder, I have sent 13.225 sms :) (saw it on the message counter) and received 22.507 sms. So now I have to look for another phone worthy of replacing this amazing 3510i.

Hello, Have this phone. It was a gift. I already have a camera phone but I use this for places where cameras are not allowed. It's a very handy phone and has color etc. I think this phone is unique for its various covers and thus can be adapted to all age groups. I like the key pad design and the design of the phone itself is very nice. If you want a phone with a good look, for basic use but in color, this is a very good phone to have. Looks more expensive than the more expensive phones. Just wish I could get more wallpapers for it.

2nd phone after a alcatel 311.. this little beauty is a godsend.. It outpaces much of todays 3g phones and like someone else said on here, all you need phones for is to make calls and send txts... this does both superbly well.. I am keeping this phone as a back up just in case my new one fails me!

had this phone with my gf. was really good, wap was fast and ringtones were nice and loud. only problem was the low screen resolution, but to say it was one of the earlier colour phones, it was quie good. nice and reliable, the battery life was really good. the keypad was easy to use when texting and allowed for really fast msg creation --> the only phone i could write a text on with my eyes closed!!!!! loved it, but it gt nicked, mine and my girlfriend's. was well gutted!!!!

One of the best phones I have ever owned. It was my first MMS GPRS phone in a newly emerging colour phone and GPRS market. Simply loved it's long battery life together with it's light weight. The only thing I would have changed was the low resolution 96 x 65 colour display. Otherwise a grand buy with all the necessary features!

this is the toughest phone i ever had. even if it doesn't have all those fancy features one might search for in a phone today, this is one that does the job and it does it well. the antenna on it is good and the signal is very good. i've had it for almost two years and in this time the battery has stood firm with an average timelife of over 7 days. only now i've experienced some problems with it in the sense that it last less than it did before. anyway, the menu on the nokia phones is nice. too bad the phones are overpriced.

i got one of these for �30 off ebay. great simple stylish phone. the battery time is phenomal. lasts about 2 weeks. it is difficult to see the screen on a sunny day. also i really hate the way you have to clear the text after sending a txt message. other than that - excellent first time phone that doesnt make u look like you're living in the dark ages lol

My husband has Siemens M55 and his phone has been in the shop for three times + he has changed the battery once (new phone with warranty!). I have this phone and it comes with some great features on it, The sounds are nice when getting a Text or a phone call, The problem I get is. if i have my phone in my pocket or in my bag I sometimes miss the call as the phone isnt to loud. it goes up to "Level 5 volume if I remember right" but apart from that the phone is Unique as all Nokia's are, I have upgraded my phone now to a Motorola V547.. I don't think I will have another Nokia again... Motorola is a big improvement now... ;o)

Thanks for your explanation, Lucian. I only had little experience with a Motorola T191 GSM phone. Several times I needed to take the battery out of it (it would not shut down otherwise), but it didn't "forget" its time and date. I like the big keyboard of 3510i, but resetting its time sounds unpleasant indeed. Maybe it is a bug in early firmware of this phone? --Baruch P.S. aren't GSM phones update their time and date automatically from the network, like my CDMA phone seems to be doing?

When you want to change your sim with other sim or you want to chenge the battery (lets suppose your battery is dead and you want to use one of your friend's), after starting the phone, you have to set again the time and date. This is not very pleasant, isn't it? This happends when you want to use a data cable also, the time is reseted, so you are forced to set it very often. Only the first mobile phones had this problem. My old one (nokia 7110, made in 2000) was ok from this point of view. Probably that's why I hate to set the time in such cases.

Hi, I am using this phone for past 8 months. It's not good coz it weighs more and moreover it hangs three times till now. Only thing to appreciate is the ringtones. Its damn good to hear. GPRS is not connecting many times since data transfer is low compared to SE phones. Now i am going to switch over to SE T610 which is very good for a good price. bye

Before nokia 3510i I had a Nokia 7110. A very good phone that did everything I neeed - I'm talking about 7110, of corse. About 3510i - this is a black point in the Nokia history. It has nothing to do with a normal phone, you can't even change sim without restarting the time. If you want to do a data transfer... pray that it will not be disconnected. Of corse, you can't use it this period. But why do you need it? Very dissapointed :((

I think that nokia 3510i is a good phone. Very cheap. And with datacable (costs under 20�) you can download games polyphonic ringtones, wallpapers, games... So it's a good choice if u don't wanna have any extra stuff in your phone, like camera.

so...what can i say about this phone is that it's a very fun toy for young people,because it has java games,polyphonic ringtones and much more,that you can download right to your phone through GPRS.i'm one of those people,who don't need many unnecessary features just to be cool.and besides,it's one of the best phones for such a low price.so...i guess,for me it's not a problem that it is bigger than nokia 3310,because it's much lighter than nokia 3310 and the buttons,i find,are very easy to use,because they're soft.so,i reckon,this phone is just made 4 me :P

This is a standard Nokia mobile, it does the job its supposed to, that is why it does not have features such as IR. Although this phone does the job its supposed to it is extremly unreliabe with numerous software problems and faulty keypads! I feel there are to mny phones in this series (ie 3510, 3410, 3330, 3310) I know that these phones are designed for the price consious i do feel Nokia should give up on them now!! Cheers ;0D

I unfortunately have this phone. It has 2 very bad thigs: 1- If any one send me a picture from the net, my phone shuts down immediately. And i had to take it to the authorized distributer center. they just remove the old software and download a new one every time i go to them (stupid act). 2- When i changed my security code and save this number in my booklet, the next time i want to change the security code, the phone shows me this message "Non valid" Why???!!!

For the Piece of S*** that has written an article down! The Samsung C 100 doesn't support MMS! So... what is the purpose of having 65.000 colors, if u can't take pictures or see them??? well, i think this phone is great, it's cheap, which covers the other problems... the resolution is low, the polyphonic ringing is hardly heard in crowded places, and the memory is small... but it's really great one.. i've got the greatest games from: http:/hometown.aol.co.uk/sogywow/javagames1.wml they have the greatest games there, and it's totally FREE!!! just go and download..

I really appreciate Noika's phones because they are attractive and well designed. They also have many functions which are interesting for youth. Unfortunately, if you are looking phone that is excellent in reception and autonomy than you have to buy some others. For example, if you want phone with amazing standby autonomy than you should buy Philips's Xenium 9@9. This phone has got also fantastic reception with some lacks (internal phonebook, for example). You can also buy some Alcatel. They also have a very good reception although standby is not good as Philips'. So, Nokias design and Philips' reception and autonomy will be perfect phone. For now this phone haven't made yet.

The screen should be bigger.Phones with camera doesn't interest me soo much. For now they are useless and I think it's a step for a new technology which you can see and talk. Very nice phone a small bit bigger than my last 3310 but , i think the screen is too dark when the light isn't on so you can't see the signal or batt level , and theirs no beep when you go to charge the batt, but other than these 1st niggles,the phones great when the light is on very bright, the tones are good , I've heard worse like the J7 but their good a nice phone for only �179

The menu is complicated, the size is too big, everything is slow, too much loading for games, no clour on WAP, colour quality bad, the phone crashes (!)alot of times... The list goes on. From Romania: I have this model about a week and i think so far is good. I had before 6210, 6150, 6510, Z5, 2618, 3210, 511. So i must say that i know telephons. No major soft problems, but i recomand you that you should wait a few mounth until you by it, because until then he will have a good soft. Polifonics tones are acceptable but total inferiors compare to others phones. It's rong about one thing: Why you have the meniu "Phone book"? Because in principal screen when you press names you enter in the phone book. It's a shity thing...Anyway, because my english is shity too, i say thats so far is a good model at low price.

Its supposed hopefully to be out the 1 of feb in ireland on vodafone �236 upgrade , today really can't wait, I've had a 3210 and currtenly on a 3310 but its giving trouble switching itself off in the middle of a call, i think the HS-1C camera headset is compatible with the 3510i , not sure though

This is one crappy phone. Its too big and it looks like a little plastic toy, ie. not very good. Or rather very ugly. The keypad looks like something a kid would draw. Do yourself a favour and buy a Sony Ericsson t68 - the greatest phone ever. Cant afford one? Dont worry, buy a t300 instead.
