Nokia 6133 - User Reviews

  • I got a 6133 when they first came out in 2011. great phone! did everything I wanted just fine and was quite a bit smaller and slimmer than the Samsung convoy 2 I use now, though the convoy 2 is a top notch phone. i'd still be using the 6133 had it not gotten crushed!

  • Application error problem

  • I have this phone and have always loved it and still do but when i got this phone there wasnt a t-mobile in our town so calling any one here whether it was 6 houses or 6 blocks away i was being charged long distance charges and that added up real quick so needless to say i got out of the contract early and now because of the that t-mobile wont unlock it for me..I have owned this phone for 7 years and havent been able to use it since..Is there another way to unlock it ? please help me with a solution any body PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!

  • I have the 6133 but the owners manual was for the 6133 & the 6126 so if you wanted something that was similar to the 6133 then you might want to check out that one

  • I had this phone it was my first phone when I started my own contract with tmobile. It had all the cool stuff I wanted was going to get a japan phone but kept it instead. Gave it to my Dad which he broke it when doing construction. I have the 3g successor on backup because it was a phone I wanted.

  • I had this Phone from 2007 to 2010 until my nephew, drop water in it, i even let other used this phone with their sim card, lolz, i used to put games in it (Yes jar file does Work) :) and i loved that press and flip button, :) that is one of the best phone i used, loved it the price was nice too!!! i wish they would make a new version of this Amazing phone including the same futures and more new futures, and make it heavy duty, Amazing Phone (NOKIA 6133)

  • how can i make make my nokia 6133 accept any application i download without having problems saying application access set to not allowed please i need ur help out there.

  • this phone sucks but its good very nice but its not so good to listen to music on there, but sometimes you can not hear ive been using it for atleast 3 years this phone is the best have no complaint about it, this phone is the wrost phone i ever had so complicated wont even start if you drop it in the water even if you dry to burn it wont start just can help it this phone is not good sucks, its the best phone

  • does nokia 6133 can open jar file or jar application?! can i read ebook in jar application using this cellphone!? i badly need an answer

  • This is the BEST phone I have ever had. Now my last one (yes I bought a backup because it was great)finally quit working last night and I can't find another 6133 anywhere but I'm still looking. I can't believe a "for-profit" company would stop making a great product with such a strong following. I've met people in random places that were jealous I still had one that wasn't beat up from time. I even broke the flip on it and the phone kept working perfectly for a year after. Bring it back NOKIA!!!

  • just play it on the music player!even if you choose to do anything except turning it off

  • i just like everthing about this phone but there is 1 thing i dont like is that when ur playing music when u close it the music stops

  • i dropped it once and i can't opened it again totally white screen

  • this phone is nice but i got it on sale people hit me up

  • i like this mobile

  • I had this phone for the last four years and really became a big fan of it. It was easy to learn, and set up with all the other devises I had for it. I really wish they kept them in stock somewhere so I could by it again. You see my phone has been recently damaged and to fix it would not be cost efficient. So I have to find another. Thank you NOKIA for a really great phone in the 6133 model. I loved it.

  • I had this very Nokia model for a while. I first had it from January to October 2008 (even though I had to replace it once due to water damage).I loved it overall, but it wasn't perfect. Pros; Impressive camera with the flip open Push button to open is awesome The Loudspeaker/speakerphone is the loudest and clearest I ever used. During MP3 playback, when on highest volume I have to hold it with my arm extended out to avoid blasting my ear, but Im used to that. Full duplex speakerphone a plus for active days. Call quality and signal is good. Texting is up to standard. The bright screen is unmatched, even by newer models. Cons; Short Battery, expected in a device with high output. Music Player only plays 255 songs even when I got my 2GB card inserted, (ex. if I play track 260, it jumps to track 5) Stereo Bluetooth headphones and the phone dont agree, but I have a headset from Nokia that fixed that. Overall, this Nokia has audio of a mini boombox, and other features that are competitive. The speaker is remarkable since it sits in the lower right corner and is no bigger than 1/8". It's a drag it is discontinued. T-Mobile said they dropped it because of it's long time on the shelves. But a few months ago I found it used in a third party store and I have it to this day!

  • The 7510 and the 6133 are the only two Nokias that have the push button to open design. So I believe the 7510 is the 6133's sucessor.

  • Its a good phone indeed but it uses WAV format for ringtone

  • well, the phone is a nice one but just that it does not accept so many applications like operamini and other browsers.it keeps on showing application access set not allowed.pls,i need help on how to go about it.

  • All normal looking phones get discontinued! This is a great phone and very nice looking one (especially in night time). Nokia completely lost style and just follows stupid Motorola and Samsung fashion. Yes most kids like very small, thin and rediculous phones. But Nokia should not forget that there is always a crowd who like large, normal lookinf phones!

  • They discontinued it because of the ignorance of the people and of Nokia itself lately. I agree, this phone was one of the best Nokia phones! It's a shame that all wee see now coming out from Nokia is eithe Motorola or Samsung design

  • I love this phone also!! And was shown the "upgrade" to it and have been looking everywhere for it but cannot find it. I dont remember what the tmobile sales rep said the model # was, all I know is it was the upgrade to the nokia 6133. I have reviewed the 7510 model and am thinking it is it. Can you please tell me if you know what the upgrade to the 6133 is? I LOVED that phone and it finally started to come apart.PLEASE help if you can..

  • This is such a good phone so WHY did they discontinue it?

  • i am having problem with accessing music as it's ring tone

  • I used to have this phone too and I LOVED it! Eventually it just became time to buy a new one. I recently purchased the Nokia 7510 Supernova and have found many similarities to the 6133. I love the 7510. If you're looking for something similar, try the 7510 Supernova.

  • this was my first phone and i loved it! served me well. only problem is after about 2.5 years, it died on me. the screen woudl turn black even though calls woudl still work. it makes me sad they discontinued it. anyone know why? i want a new one!

  • did this replace the 6131? why did nokia discontinue this line of fliptop phones?

  • Concerning availability of Nokia 6133. It looks like Nokia or T-mobile cleaned out their warehouses. New 6133's are now for sale on eBay for $80 to $90 or so. I just bought one from an eBay vendor and activated it for prepaid service.

  • this is a nice phone i love it and wise i could find one forsale

  • this is a nice phone i love it and wise i could find one forsale

  • Does anyone have this phone they dont want in working shape? I really love this phone and my new puppy got ahold of it and chewed it up. Plz email [email protected] or txt me at 316 993 2247 thank you

  • Your Flip phone flex needs to be replace, that is a common problem for flip type and slide type phones.

  • Emmm.. Try to format it.. will work for sure

  • I've used this phone for sometimes now, suddenly the screen went off. and i really really love this phone. Please is it in anyway that you can help me to restore my phone because i took to phone shops for repair all has been invain. please help me to restore my phone that is 6133 and this is my e-mail address. [email protected]

  • I have had nokia all my life best phone ever. This model however is an absolute night mare. IT freezes on a white screen only showing the battery. After about an hour it does come back. IT does this every day. After a week it just never comes back. 6 phones later i still cant get a diff phone cause its replaced and the same thing happens. Time for a new phone. Glad i got the warranty.

  • how to format this fone???? plz help me..tnx..

  • i need it also can you help me

  • if you use the music player and take calls at the same time the battery will go quicker simple equation more work more energy all phones are like that

  • Perfect mid-range Nokia. Excellent with one flaw. Battery is horrible!!!!! Drains so fast

  • ok try to push # button and the writing type will be changed

  • Okay i want to know how can you make the t9 work like when your spelling a word the word shows. and when for example i try to spell me or im and it wont come out and different word comes out how can i fix that so i dont have to change the form or the typing and i could leave it on t9...???

  • Did anyone ever figure out how to do this? When I took my phone into T-Mobile to ask for help, they said they could use their machine to do it, but my phone had to be in default mode, which it was not. Anyone know how to get it to default mode?

  • i love it its really nicee phone

  • I love this phone. It's the best phone in the world. I LOVE IT!!! Go get it

  • my Nokia 6133 got wet, it still dial but i cannot see anything on the screen. i can still blindly navigate through menu but i do not know how to get to the recordings that was saved. can anyone with this phone help me with step by step insturction to find the folder with previosly saved recordings?

  • How do you make the ring of an incoming call last longer say 20-30 seconds? Right now th way it's set it only lasts 5 sec.

  • I BROKE MY SCREEN! :( can someone give me the button sequence to get to contacts and save them to the sim card on it? 6133 model of course.

  • 6133 is a very nice and strong phone.. but the only problem that phone had is the taking of photo without your concept.. it does snap picture without operating it..

  • I am not happy about nokia6133, the camera takes pictures with out being pressed at any time during calling or resting

  • the camera on this nokia is always taking pictures automatically with out my initiation Do you have a solution to this??????

  • on ur fone go vuclip to download youtube videos on fone browers

  • I have the same problem. My phone had died and shut itself off and i just plugged it into the charger. The battery symbol wont even show up and i dont even think its charging, it just says "local mode" on the mini display. I dont understand and its quite frankly annoying me.

  • In May 2008, I switched from the Dash to Nokia 6133. Loved the 6133, and utilized the extra personal security feature of locking the keypad and overall phone down via a 4 digit personal code. After pushing the menu buton and the star key, the user is then prompted to enter a 4 digit security code. Yesterday, however, this feature stopped working, based on what I suspect is a lesser known "bug". Somehow the code changed, or the phone fails to remember the code I assigned it. I am now permanently locked out of the phone. I can receive calls, but not make them. Of courst, T-mobile reps were able to offer zero assistance, but they are sending another one to replace within 7-10 days b/c it's under warranty. I am confident I am not the only user in the world who has experienced this. Would love to hear from others.

  • did you hit the power button, cause that's why!!!

  • you have to find a file that is a WMA- mp4's, mp3's and wav files will play on your phone's music player, but not as a ringtone. download a file converter to convert the file to a WMA file and it will run just fine.

  • I had my nokia 6133 for a while an i like it it has alot tricks bt i wna kno how cn i set my streaming to work 2 watch videos cn anybody help me

  • I purchased the nokia 6133 specifically for the to-do list, watching streaming videos as well as playing games. I have since learned that T-mobile paired with Nokia and J2ME Java applications are blocked (games) as well as the ability to download/watch videos, i.e., youtube. I had better abilities with my previous phone Motorola V360 for playing games. Other than what I mentioned, it's a nice phone...but doesn't fit my wants/needs. Oh yes...battery life sucks big time.

  • I am buying it at your suggestion.

  • I recently obtained this phone, free from T-Mobile. The flip open style makes it easy to open. The only problem was that I would trigger the camera button (located on its side) and see a nice view of my face. That was remedied by touching the menu button and star key before closing the cover. That move de-activates all functions on the phone. You can't accidently open the camera. When you flip open the phone, everything is back to normal. Very good camera, sound, and phonebook. The video camera doesn't look very good when downloading to the computer, but okay when viewed on screen. Good luck.

  • hey could someone please please tell me the key sequence to move all contacts from the phone to the sim that would be amazing. my screen broke and i have no idea how to do that. thanks

  • I HAVE THIS PHONE: One of the most mature and normal Nokia phones!!!! Stop the B.S. reviews! PROS: -Mature Male design! -Excellent quality screens (internal and out) -Excellent voice clarity (clean, loud and not thin which is surprising for such thin speaker) CONS: Battery life is not ment for bluetooth! ( 3.0 hr talk time without using bluetooth) I think online they sell desktop charger for BL4C AND BL5C nokia batterries.

  • Hello first you need to download music to the memory card and go to menu click on Fun & Apps and then go to Games & Apps choose your memory card and click on your music file and set it use it as ring tone that's all. good luck.

  • my dad barely got this phone about 3 months ago & he wants me to put some of his music as his ring tone.. i've tried doing it for him but it doesn't work & had some of my friends who knows more about phones then i do tried but it doesn't work. can someone tell me how i could set a song as a ring tone????? thanks.

  • ok this phone sucks. let me tell you. for my birthday i recieved the nokia 6133 and i thought it was a great phone. cool backgrounds, great camera, easy to text on. but abput 2 months after i got this phone one day the screen turned completely white, and all i could see was the battery. i tried numerous things to fix the problem but nothing worked so the phone has broken. i called tmobile telling them about my problem but they had no explanation of why this happened. they sent me another phone free off warrenty and im ecxited because i thought my other phone was just bulit like crap and this one would be better. well my phone had been great until a couple day ago when the screen turned all white and all i could see was the battery. i tried every thing again but nothing worked. it broke. im really pissed and not satisfiyed at all. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PHONE!

  • easy , go on ebay and buy the USB connector from you phone to computer $5.00 .you will know from there.

  • how did you download music to this phone?

  • I got this phone only because it was a free phone from T-Mobile. I've had it for a couple of months and to me, it's a great phone just not a very cute phone. I like the fact that I can bluetooth some pics from my laptop onto there and it looks crystal clear!

  • Great phone.great phone.only thing that i hate is that the battery dies extremely to fast.the phone has great features but if your battery is died whats the point of having them.

  • i have had my Nokia 6133 for a couple of years. i like it except the volume turns down when i am talking to someone. however, my keys are a little sticky, how do i take the front cover off so i can wipe them down?

  • it sux I had it for about 8 months and the button that opens up the phone got jammed in one time when i pressed it. Then now it keeps freezing up now I do not reccomend it at all

  • yes the Nokia 6133 has the same button .

  • You can go to download.com and get a converter called bee music handle and you can change all your music files into wma and it reduces the size of it too!!!!

  • I like the button on the side that flips open the phone. Is there other phones that have the same button? (except for the nokia 6131 and nokia 6126)

  • This phone is awesome. I had it for a while now. I had more expensive phones that dont measure up to this one. As for the camera turning on. if you go to settings>phone>automatic keyguard. It will lock buttons as soon as you done using it, or after a timer that you can set up.

  • the best flip cell phone i had used, i had try other expensive flip phone none of them i like so far only 6133-6126-6131 is the best easy to use and have every thing talk / taking picture / video / music morreeeeee.VERY EASY TO FLIP OPEN.

  • so far pretty good, only had for one week using a holder on my belt; a few times I have found it turned off or the camera is on. do not like the on/off and camera side switches.

  • I got this phone for 2 year and it works still like new!!!! it is very good as normal phone. The sound is loud and and picture are good too. I like this phone how it open the most!!!!!!!!!!!

  • did not really like it in the first sight, but after 3 weeks use, i started to like it. The phone is very light, the sound, picture quality is just good. After i put a mini SD card in(purchased seperately), i can use a lot of custermized ring tunes and pictures. It is cool with low profile...

  • This is a very good flip phone for basic use as a normal consumer. I would not recommend for games, but everything else works just fine. Especially if you unlock/reflash the phone outside of T-Mobile's hands. You can do even more with it.

  • My TMobile Nokia 6133 have a black or Blank screen all the time, wont even power up. It shows the Cell phone charging, and all you can ever see is the battery symbol when it's closed and plugged in. Once I open the phone (even though still plugged in) the battery symbol goes away and the phone just seems to be a useless chunk of metal/plastic.

  • how do u turn it on

  • This phone is horrible. It is not made well, and keeps breaking on me. The screen on this thing broke, and it will randomly power off on me. I have sent it in on warranty repair 3 times, the problems keep coming back. I've given up.

  • this phone speaker is very loud. my! my!

  • My screen for the nokia 6133 broke the other day. Can anyone who ones this model give me the button directions to copy my contacts to either my memory card or sim card? THANKS!

  • It is the "SHIT"......lol, Sound and picture quality fantastic also the features.

  • 6 months after using, one day the phone stopped working. Now the outside camera takes pic. But after opening cover, the phone hangs. Cannot pic with inside the cover camera. Can any-one offer suggestion ?? 18-2-08

  • hi, can someone say me how to transfer picture images to PC by bluetooth or by email ?

  • This phone is the best for the buck you're paying... Sound quality is outstanding and screen resolution is great also!

  • deos any body no how to cenvert mp3s to aac

  • Good phone only issue time is off when I upload appointments to the calender via pda. Also if you check nokia's site, they have a free software package that makes custom themes.

  • can someone tell me how 2 convert my mp3s to wma for ringtones

  • hi again, i've got a nokia 6133 and love it, but he only problem i have is the annoying display message "LOCAL MODE". It comes when i leave my phone in stand by or when i turn it off and set the alarm. I dont know what does it mean... do you guys have the same problem???. Thanks

  • this phone is great, i have it. what is bad that ringtones must be WMA and NOT mp3. also the video recording resolution poor. battery life could be better. i have 2 just in case. now switched to nokia 5610. love it

  • @maine this phone does not support infared

  • why when i use bluetooth i cant use any of the song as a ringtone???? can anyone help me???

  • dis fone is ugly as!!!!!! plz dun get it. it has bad looks. ewww. uglyyyyyy.

  • i was shocked why my phone has its infrared port specifications in my connectivity and i activate it but then when my sister wants to transfer an image to my phone(6133)w/c her phone is sony ericsson(k300).. why is it that the connection fails...pls guys answer my question..is there any case if you transfer through sony ericsson to nokia within an infra?

  • i have this phone to ....someone told me that could convert ringtones to AMR ...but i dont know how...Any one know how??????

  • I have had this phone for 11 months now. I love the phone and everything it can do, HOWEVER, the picture messaging....SUCKS!!! I try sending pictures I take with my phone to my yahoo email acct and fails. I have had this problem total of 7 months off and on. Texting is fine, its just the picture messaging. TMobile says NOW that there is an issue with this feature, knowing after I have COMPLAINED TO THEM NUMEROUS TIMES and went through 3 of these SAME phones.

  • hey where is the gps tracking system?

  • its cool but u have to convert your ringtones frome MP3 to AMR to use it. I lOVE THE BUTTON TO OPEN IT

  • Fantastic Nokia. The only con is the battery life

  • i bought this phone 3 weeks ago from a tmobile shop. It is a great phone with awesome features. if you are looking for a phone, get this one!

  • Battery lasts 84 hrs when used very little. Specs say it should last 200+. TMobile was nice enough to first replace the battery, then the entire phone. New phone is just as bad.

  • From my scrutiny of this phone in a T-mobile shop, it seems like a worthy candidate to replace my much loved Panasonic VS3. The screen is big, bright, and the quality is sturdy. The style is more subdued than other phone but it still looks classy. The one-touch open hinge is seems a bit flimsy, but my Panasonic has the same feature and it has worked for 3 years. Seems like a good value.

  • i like everything about the phone but the bad thiong is i cant use bluetooth for ringtones....

  • its cool but u have to convert your ringtones frome MP3 to AMR to use it. I lOVE THE BUTTON TO OPEN IT

  • You cant use bluetooth as ringtones

  • Looks exactly the same as the Nokia 6131 except has a slightly different design

  • are you able to listen to the radio using the wireless bluetooth ear piece?

  • This phone is one of the coolest on the market but I cannot use my mp3 ringtone for a ringtone and the battery runs out quickly

  • this NOKIA 6133 is really good...but my music can't set as a ringtone....I used music video as a ringtone so yeah. wait i forgot also weak signal ( sometimes )

  • Hey all, I just bought this unlock 6133. This is a coolest phone I've had. But there is a problem though. I can't use the MP3 as ringtones. In the options for the MP3 file, the 'Use tone' button is deactivated. Anybody knows any tricks??

  • great phone the batter is not that good when the bluetoth is on but if you shut it off it can last a long time outer then botton to open the phones is great and it the best phone t mobile has on there upgrade page

  • Great phone for the price, i bought this phone about a year ago and still works like new. You can lock the keypad so you dont accidentally turn on the camera. it doesnt play mp3 as a ringtone but it does play wma. I don't have any problems with the flip button its been working fine. the mp3 player works pretty good the quality is not as good as a nokia n91 because it doesnt have dual cpu.

  • SIMPLE REVIEW: The only normal cell phone on T-Mobile list! All other models that T-Mobile supports are garbage! 6103 is not a bad one, but has a cheap display ( remember to see color displays in a bright light you need very high resolution) PROS: -Lovely Design -Loud ringers -Simple menu (though not like on old Nokias) -Nice call quality CONS: -Too thin (which affects bettery life) -Cheap camera ( we have no need to have camera in this phone at all)

  • poor phone can not turn off camera button side has it always on button to open it get stuck poor design and warrenty

  • Best flip-phone from Nokia I have had so far. Missing ringtone variety and wallpaper selection is cheesy. Speakerphone is very loud and clear. Display is on a par with Sharp TM series phones(crisp resolution). Camera is great. Get the 1GB micro SD card for longer videos and more pics. Menus are user friendly. Of the 6126, 6131, 6133, this one has the best keypad and an FM tuner. Just don't play too much with the display on or the battery life will be shortened(16M 24bit TFT)does eat battery.

  • This phone will play any music/song you like as a ring tone. Check the options when you open the song file.

  • to vk, I don't know what kind of files you'r using. My music player works great. I use ripped windows media player files (WMA). I download them to my micro card. Then activate the music player by going to (menu > fun & Apps > media > music player). The radio should work, I use it a lot, again it's in the media folder. ALWAYS CHECK THE OPTIONS when you are in the folder. You have to use the headphones that comes with the phone. (Actually there is a way to activate the radio without headphones and listen through the loudspeaker). Also you can program shorcut keys to activate the radio or music player with one touch. I'm very pleased with this phone.

  • JR I've got the same problem with radio and Music player saying "Not alowed" any ideas anyone?

  • I've had this phone for about 6 months. Overall it's an ok phone. I'm having problems with closing the phone. It seems like the latch is warn out, already? Not happy with that because it's spring loaded and I can't shut the phone. I would not recommend this phone just for that reason. Also having problems with charging.

  • Thanks very much angela, i'm buying a new 2gb memory card the next week.

  • I upgraded to a 6133 Back in August 06, after allot of comparison and carefull concederation, looking at the phones avalable along with what was going to be released in the coming months. Even different carriers. I wanted to be able to listen to music, Take a decent photo and have a phone that worked well. I was and still am very happy with my decision to stay with t-moble and to go witht the 6133. The phone has lived up to all my expectations as well as some things I never expected. like the ability to dial any number in my phone book, and I m'm talken any number without me programing it. I just press the hands free button on the headphones that came with the phone and in a computerized type voice the name is repeated and i am connected with the one I called. It will even read off names if they are similar one in my phone book and allow me to chose the one i want. The features are great and i could go on but I won't. my only compaint is the battery life its too short and i havent yet seen a longer running battery avalible for this unit. Witht hte battery asside this is a sturdy easy to use feature packed little unit that filps open on it own with the touch of a button like a switchblade enjoy Switch

  • I've been using this for about 6 months and am fairly satisfied with it. It will take a 2 gig micro sd card so lots of space. T-mobile will not let you use your mp3s as ringtones but you can easily convert to wma and use what you want. I would like to find a slideshow application for it - anyone know of one?

  • I love this phone! Went from nokia 6101 to the 6103 and finally to the 6133. I must be lucky that i haven't had the problems other people have had. The camera came on easily when i wasn't using phones on both the 6101 and 6103 so this isn't really a problem for me. You can always lock keypad so this doesn't happen. I actually like the button that you have to use to open. The only two things that i don't like about phone are that you either have the option of setting videos for 4 seconds or up to about four and a half minutes, but can't send a video that is over 18 seconds and the battery life stinks. I have a couple extra so isn't really a problem. Most assessories are also compatible with the 6101 and 6103. Would highly recommend this phone!

  • This is in regards to Carlos question about memory. Bought a nokia 6133 about two months ago and purchased a generic 2gb memory card for it. Lots of storage.

  • This one is the Best Nokia Phone today! And thanks God, not another "Smart Phone" from Nokia (All Nokia Smart Phones are for Stupid people!) PROS: -The only Nokia phone on American market with normally large mature design! -Sound quality (well-it's Normal Nokia) -High quality color display (easy to see in a bright sun) -Not ovepriced ($200-$220 without a plan) -Bluetooth -Not a bad music player CONS: Battery life (well that's what you get from stupidly thin phones!) , but I would buy a spare battery and a spare desktop charger (extra $100 all together!!!) so I can enjoy bluetooth and listening music.

  • Michelle. I had a 6131 with the same problem. A different charger was used with no effect so the phone went back to Nokia for warranty repair. Other then that I can't help as the phone is still there after 11 weeks.

  • Hi, i am about to buy the 6131 and want to know whether it will Bluetooth with a Sony Ericsson car kit? thanks.

  • does anyone knows if this phone supports 2gb of external memory?. In my case my phone's got 1gb (microSd)but its not enough for me, that's why i wanna by a 2gb memory but i'm not sure if n6133 supports 2gb of memory.HELP ME PLEASE!!!!. THANKSSSSS

  • This phone sucks. The click button sticks, the phone has a protection so that it doesn't allow you to blue tooth a song and use as a ringtone, you can get it just cant use it then what is the purpose, the battery life is awful. Get ready to charge it daily or every day depending on usage. I have had alot of phones. This is my least fav.

  • there is a tiny button on the upper right side of the phone, if you press it, the spring-loaded phone flips open. At first I didn't know about the button, and opened it up manually, but ever since I found the button, I have fallen in love with it. Pop!

  • hi what push buttom thingy are people talking about someone explain do you really have to push a stupid button to open this phone. Why would they ad a dumb feature like that if it breaks what then how can you open your phone? Always one little thing that ruins a phone that a company ads that makes or breaks the cell phone when it comes to consumers purchaseing them

  • i am thinking of getting this phone for my birthday and was wonderings if this phone has free programable ringtones and help will be aprreiciated. thx

  • This is a very good phone. People you can lock the key pad or set it to automatic lock so that the camera is not accidentally turned on.

  • This is a great phone. it may not be the nicest but it is great. the battery life is very good. the phone is also very slim. the push button open is great.

  • To michelle, I don't think it's your phone. I'm wondering that your problem is between the wall outlet, charger and battery. Did you try a different wall outlet? How about different battery? It also could be the charger is faulty. I hope this helps. JR

  • I don't know about mp3 but it plays WMA music files beautifully with no problem. and u can listen with the phone closed. The trick is not to go to music files folder. Play it through MUSIC PLAYER folder. (Go to menu/fun & apps/media/music player). When you're there go to options and choose the (music source)where your music files are located. I got a 2 gig micro sd card (with the adapter) from Fry's on sale for $29.99 plus $10.00 rebate. and I can download WMA music files & graphic files from my pc to the card, and I'm having a great time. This phone rocks. JR

  • Okay so I bought a gig stick for my phone. And it worked, I was rocking. I was stupid and stuck it in my buddies phone to try to get a game from him. didnt work. Well after that i tried to use my MP3 player and it said 'Not Allowed'. then i tried to plug my headphones in and try again. No go. Then I tried the radio with the head phones in. Still no go. I can see all the files. I can listen through the media player. But the Music player doesnt work. This only sucks because I cant close the phoe listening and if i get a call i cant check it without ending my music. Anyone have this happen? I dont want to go to T mobile but i might have too. I tried Formatting the disk and that didnt work either! HELP!!!!

  • Has anyone had a problem where it does not take a charge? I sometimes find the port will not connect right with my charger and wake up the next morning with the battery being dead. I have since called for a replacement phone but it does not work either. Tmobile says its not a known issue, which I googled and was only able to find 2 other people with this problem. Which in a sense is right but I wanted to get other thoughts.

  • Battery life is short but that is not a deal breaker for me. The reason is I always have 2 batterys to my phone. I carry a charged spare battery with me all the time and not worry about the phone battery dying on me. JR

  • Camera button is somewhat sensetive, but if the phone is in a case there should be no problem. I found a nice leather belt case in Fry's for $10.00. You shouldn't put any phone in your purse without a case anyway. JR

  • Can someone please tell me the "most recent" software version for this phone??? Presently it is 5.60 and I was reading with the 6131 it was 6. Is it the same with the 6133????

  • I'm actually owning a RAZR V3 and I'm hesitating on buying the Nokia 6133 because I read that the camera button is very sensible and that the camera can be turned on when you don't want to! (for example, if I carry my phone in my purse next to my wallet and everything!!) Is that true ???

  • I went from the 6103 to 6133 and inserted a 1 gig micro sd card. Allows over 3,200 still pics or 2.4 hours of video. Camera often discharges when closed. To avoid this set phone to auto-lock after 30 seconds. Later, when clamshell is opened, the phone automatically unlocks. Also with micro card. phone number capacity jumps from 500 contacts to over 1,000. Phone has an unusually loud speaker phone that increases on a scale of 1 thru 10. Stereo reception on FM radio is excellent. All in all, a great phone. My best Nokia in 10 years--I only buy Nokia's for ease of operation, and with T-Mobile in Washington, DC area, I never lose a call. Only drawback to me is somewhat short battery life.

  • I don't think this has an infrared port. So many review sites say otherwise, but the phone connectivity menu and manual say nothing about it.

  • Hey guys, I'm thinking of buying this phone after A LOT of research, I just have these two VERY important questions: 1. IS IT POSSIBLE TO TAKE A PICTURE FROM IT WHILE THE PHONE IS CLOSED, THAT IS, USE THE EXTERNAL DISPLAY TO TAKE A PICTURE LIKE MANY SAMSUNGS AND MOTOS? 2. IS IT TRUE THAT THE PHONE DOES NOT BEEP OR VIBRATE IF YOU MISSED A PHONE CALL OR GOT A MESSAGE WHILE YOU WERE AWAY FROM THE PHONE? Also, is it true that it DOES NOT vibrate while on charge? 3. Finally, this is not that important of a question, but how many text messages can you actually save on this thing? Like the Motos, or the earlier ones maxed out at about 100 messages. Anyway, please someone answer these questions soon, I'm thinking of getting the phone in the next day or two. Thank you in advance for EVERYONE's help!

  • Just purchased handset. 6133(T-Mobile)version, very good handset with a few cons. Battery life somewhat limited due to super-high resolution displays. Limited ringtones and wallpapers. Micro-SD slot peculiarly located on side of phone.

  • Where in the hell is the damn Infrared port? I cant find it anywhere....the only place I can think of is on one of the sides where below the buttons. but its hard to tell....

  • Any reason why Nokia decided to go with 4 versions of the same phone??? Ex: 6126, 6131, 6133, and 6136????? Makes little sense......

  • Sorry, I found that the 6290 has 3G (UMTS) and higher class 32 GPRS as compared to class 10 for the 6126 and 6133. As well the 6290 has a 2mp camera as the 6126 and 33 only have 1.3 mp resolution. Otherwise the phones are all the same....

  • Can anyone tell me how this phone compares to the 6290 which looks almost exactly like this model?? The 6126 is the same exact phone as this except for the keypad and FM radio that the 6133 has and the 6126 does not. Cingular has the 6126 and T-Mobile the 6133. The 6131 is only found in stores unlocked with no carrier for a hefty price.

  • does anyone knows what type of format does it has to be to put ringtones??

  • This phone is said to have infrared port.. but hell I cant find out how 2 use it! since I dunno were to find the aplication...can anyone tell me please? another thing I find annoying.. another thing I find annoying is when I use the radio and use the handsfree to change stations, they DO NOT change on-screen! the number may change but the station's name still's the same. Am I havin trouble with my very own cell phone or its a general issue for ALL of them??

  • You can access the radio by connecting the headphones. My phone came with the headphones. I just found out how to do this a few minutes ago from another site!

  • Hi, I just bought this phone yesterday. I love it. The problem I have is I dont know how to set it to virbrate mode before it rings. Can anybody tell me?

  • want to know if this phone accept programe or no

  • has anyone compared this phone to the new 5300?

  • Hi, I have this for about a week now,Does anybody know how to set the fm radio. thanks...

  • Extremely poor battery life, probably due to the ease of activating the camera. No was to set camera not to activate by side button. Photos are so so. I have been unable to make my own ring tones. No dongle available for plugging into the computer. On the plus side, it is easy to use. The color display is nice. Works well with blue tooth headset. It can be charged with older Nokia chargers using an adapter. The bottom line is I would not recommend this phone. If I could get out of my two year service plan I would look for another phone.

  • Hi, I'm planning to buy this phone. Is it possible to save my sms messages and pictures on the memory card? just like nokia 6680 thanks

  • ive had this phone for about 2 months and for me its been great, does everything i need plus more, making my own ringtones is great and my friends love the bluetooth so they can get the unique ringtones too, but earlier today the button got stuck and my phone wont close, its really annoying, im not sure what to do. im goin to tmobile tomarrow but i dont think they will do anything, anyone else have this problem

  • this phne is awesome, i am so in love with it.its the best signal wise, applications r so much...da only problem is, the phone dsnt vibrate when on charger. i love my phone to be on silent, but when charging it, i cnt have it vibrate.plus the fact that if u get a txt, u dnt look @ it, it wnt keep on vibratin or ring to remind u a message is waitin like the samsung phones. overall awesome

  • Great phone, one of the best actually (at least in the North American market). Used a lot of innovations from other manufacturers: like push-to-open, MUCH more universal operating software; Love addition of one-stop call log (like with Ericssons). Gorgeous screen. Deceptively ergonomic keypad (best I've had). Though, a lot of small annoying things: Side volume keys hard to find/reach, but power and camera button too easy to reach. FM player cannot play through speaker until you've hooked up a headset (though you can still play it through speaker). Speaker loud, but not stereo (like ROKR). No external controls for music player, text on internal and external player for songs is way too small and doesn't wrap. No flash/flashlight (like ROKR...very useful to me as a flashlight ;)). Other stuff but I won't go on. Music as ringtones: Beyond the aac and other two or three small file formats, it plays wav files... though 30seconds=5MB in that format. I believe there is a way around this using external software but I have yet to look at this.

  • to kCP, this phone DO HAVE a speakerphone.

  • the phone is great, but i would like to know how to keep the clock on the mini display.. pls help me

  • This phone lacks of one important feature in these days. It does not have speaker. Can you believe that?

  • can sum1 plz tell me wat program i could use to make ringtones plzz...when i bought da fone it only came wit da cable..so i dunno wat program to use..

  • battery life totaly unacceptable

  • For the camera, alot of the defualt settings dont have the settings for image quality maxed. The 6133 doesnt have a whole lot of onboard memory, which is why I think its set up that way from the factory. Just adjust the settings and watch the image quality go to where it should be, 1.3mp. Just think about getting some microSD for the device.

  • i took out the grainy or even greenish pics by turning off night mode

  • I was in love with the noia 6133 until i found out that i can't use any audio version as a ringtone. No mp3's no wma's no anything. I'm pissed because all the little pitchy tones that came with the phone are stupid and annoying. If anyones knows a way around this please, PLEASE tell me.

  • my camera is ok. As for the battery i talk alot and i dont have that problem maybe its your battery?

  • You have to convert the mp3 to wma in order to use it as a ringtone.

  • battery life sucks. wil last 2 days if u save up n dont use it must. tlak time is about 3.5 hrs. camera sucks big time. i've had better luck in VGA camera's thie pics come out heavily green and grainy. and the camera is activated all the f'in time. the only solution is the key lock. but y shud i lock all the keys? its annoying! I love the phone and the 3 things above r the only probs i've seen

  • Does anyone else get grainy or even greenish photos?

  • my only complaint after using this phone for a while is that there should be some sort of control for the MP3 player on the externals of the phone. everyone complains about the lack of being able to use mp3s for ringtones, but you can just make a tone as a WMV file, and use that.. battery life is a bit short, but i have a spare from my 6101, so i dont really worry.

  • I tried downloading mp3 short tracks onto audio converter and send it to my memory card but it will still not let me use it as a ringtone. This is the only thing I hate about this phone, no wonder they reduced the price.

  • i live this phone it is like so cool loke omg best phone ever

  • E = EDGE coverage G = GPRS

  • Sometimes I get the letter "G" too, what's the difference and anyway to get rid of it.

  • Does anyone know what the "E" on the top of the screen stand for? and how do I get rid of it, Thanks for the help in advance.

  • my nokia 6133 says local phone on it. does anyone know what the means?

  • everything was great, but the battery was not that last long

  • Anyone find that the battery does not last long ?

  • Can someone please give me a complete walkthrough on how you convert the Mp3 files to make ringtones??? Im lost!! Thank you

  • i hate the design of 6131 i prefer this one... will this design be available here at asia? ocz this phone is only for the US... ang also is there any other phone that are the same level as 6133?

  • "The bottom line: The midtier Nokia 6133 is well-designed, packed with features, and performs well, too." ... C-Net.com I think it would make a great choice (prob one of the best phones available now) if you can get it without the T-Mobile restrictions on MP3's as ringtones...even with the restriction it is still good but limited to just T-Mobile

  • the nokia 6133 is very good. when i get to high school i would like to get this phone when i take the tram or take the bus to swimming. the review is very good , no bad commet's.

  • i can't c any difference between 6133 n 6131!!

  • i think the 6133 is really COOL! the mp3 ringtones are really good compeard to what i saw on the review. Nokia i think you've made a really good mobile. But my bad opinion is that the camera should be abit better. but that doesn't matter, my regards to you nokia. mikey me

  • i've had this phone for about about 2 weeks, it's pretty good. i like the radio, i haven't uploaded any mp3's yet so i can't speak on that. i like the features, but the battery life isn't the best(you'll most likely have to charge it everyday-but that's no biggie.). i've seen those Battery Performance Enhancer's online...i was wondering if anyone has tried those? they supposedly extend your battery life by placing them on the back of your phone battery. another question...there is no in-call timer(call duration) while on a call. the only way to see how long you've been on a call is when you hang up and it tells you. it may seem like a small thing...but i've never had a phone that doesn't display this. is there any way to change that? i've tried looking in the settings and i dont see that option at all, the only option is to have the call duration on or off to display at the end of the call. overall i give the phone 4 out of 5.

  • this phone is amazing....i don't complain about mp3 ringtones or wateva, i dnt care cause my phone is always on silent....but the phone is really really good

  • hey! what are the differences between nokia 6131 nad 6133 except the design

  • I love this phone! It's really a great phone and it dose a lot of good things.and i also love the fact that the phone is not heavy at all and it fits in my mini purse Great! the one bad thing about the phone is the battery life but that's why i bought a car charger,so i have no problems with this phone.

  • i'm fan nokia holl my life i been usimg nokiaphones.i berive 6133/6131 are better den 8800/8800sciore.so cuys, sende me or update me latestphones.becouse i'm mobile sellesman ihave got my own shop. this is my addr j. malin 87 wallbrookhouse, huntingdon road n9 8lr london england

  • I just ordered this phone today, got it for cheap with a contract renewal for only a cheap 50 bux. This phone seems worth it overall. The best deal ive seen. but is the battery life good?

  • Announced 2006, October Status Coming Soon i think Arena made mistakes of the status of this phone because this phone was already came out and now T-Mobile has it for just $99.

  • this phone is great.. it does all the things that previous posters have said it does. but in addition to that. after quickly converting my mpeg videos from my pc to 3gp format using a free converter i downloaded. i was able to to watch my favorite videos right on my phone with sound too. its amazing. imagin having access to all your favorite "porn" right on your phone. and high quality images too. that you can zoom in several times the size. great screen excellent sound quality. i love it. i've got 500 plus high quality images. cars women. i never use the same wallpaper two days in a row. only one draw back.... battery life.. not so good. no biggie i charge it every night on my night stand. so i dont' mind

  • I love my new phone, its super fun and after finally figuring out how to use the darn thing its awesome. To use the radio, just plug in the included headphones and go under media to the radio option and assign radio stations. it should work. my question is: i purchased a memory card for my phone and it stores all my photos great, but i want to learn how to put songs on it so i can listen to mp3's without downloading them. I downloaded PC Suite but im not sure of my connection type? I have the memory card to put into my computer but the only options are a cable connection, infrared and bluetooth. does anyone know how i can do this? Please email me! Thanks

  • Ive had this phone for about 2 days now and i absolutely love it. It took me a while to pick a new phone and i made a good choice. Once you figure out how to assign ur mp3's as ringtones, its even better. Instruction are great on here to do that. The one thing im wondering how to do is how to get the radio to work. And i was also wondering if there was someway of getting my MP3s to play in my car. If someone knows id greatly appreciate it if they could post or email me. Thanks.Highly recommended phone.

  • Does anyone know how to get free mobile games? I was looking for a nfl football game like madden or something.

  • for ringtones go to wap.prp2.com on you cell phone, scroll down till it says i have a nokia 6133, you can pick from a list they are all WMA format all ready.

  • infrared - no :( but phone is good

  • Your right, they are very similar.. main difference though is a longer battery life!! maybe ill have to bin my 6131 for this just for that reason alone :D

  • To Justin: This is how you can use songs as ringtones. 1) download what ever song you want onto your pc. 2) goto download.com and download the software called free mp3 covertor 1.5 3) use the software to convert the mp3 to WMA format at about 44mhz 4) now you either need a data cable for your phone or a blue tooth cable to tranfer the WMA song to you phone. 5) Note : you can only move the songs to the memory card, i dont think you can move it to internal phone memory. 6) Now once the song is in memory, goto tones - and browse into the memory card and chose select as ring tone. Hope this helps.

  • Someone PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE walk me through the steps of changing the MP3s to WMAs so I can use them as ringtones. I LOVE this phone but the biggest dissapointment was the ringtones. Someone please e-mail me if you can help. i'd really appreciate it. Thaks

  • what i'd like to know is what is the difference between this phone and the Nokia 6131 ? the technical specs seem identical - is this an upgrade? if so, in what way? did the previous version have a bug or problem of some kind? i'm trying to figure out which one to buy. thanks

  • I have tmobile service and everytime I try to get on the internet with this phone.. it says.. "subscribe to packet data.." can anyone HELP ME please??? :(.

  • love this phone

  • zedge.net and www.ownskin.com have craploads of themes, use the 6131's themes as the 6133 is practically a 6131.

  • I love this phone so far but dont like any of the themes. if someone can please tell me wher I can get more themes and email me an answer that would be great other than that Great phone

  • I take that back about the ringtones. Its awesome! since MP3 takes up MB... and WMA format takes up less.. it works out for the better! :). hehehe!!

  • Yea! I just got this phone yesterday! after all the motorolas... (bleh)... I've decided to try something NEW. NOKiA! lOl. I LOVE this phone.. but WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY the extra piece at the button.. it makes me feel like the phone's iNCOMPLETE... or its just missing something... like the REST of THE front FULL cover...?? bleh.. yeah. its pretty disappointing about can't using MP3s as ringtone.. unless u convert it like someone else said.. but yeah. i suppose if you don't care about looks you'll like this phone. at least try too...

  • Peoples!! What have de diffrence about the 6131? This 6133 is more new model. The 6131, the life of battery is very bad. Will be this 6133 the batery life is better? Is this 6133 is better than 6131, i will buy this model! the caracteristis same equals! In Brazil have only the model 6131... the 6133 not yet have...

  • To the guy below me - i've had this phone for a week with tmobile and i absolutely love it. i trasnfered WMA files t my phone using blue tooth and the data cable and its the most user feiendly system i've seen. i use my WMA's in the MP# player and for ringtones. read my review below and do some research on how to change files type before you say the phone sucks.

  • Nokia 6133>>This phone sucks it does NOT play mp3's or WMA's as ringtones. It will play a "HiFi" ringtone from T-Mo..If you have My favs on, say good by to your 1 touch dialing. Video camera and My favs can not be set up as left or right shortcut keys, you need to scroll about the menu to get to them.

  • Hello guys - after a lot of research i decided to go with this phone. I went from 2 sony's to a motorola (bg change) to this nokia. I love it! i'm a big techy so yes i played around with the phone for hours. I am in chicago and i got it through tmobile. My bigest concern was whether i'll be able to use my songs as ringtones. well the phone is locked with tmobile so u cannot. But i found a solution. Goto download.com and download free ringtone converter 1.5, use this to change all ur mp3's to WMA format with 44kmhz. and save them on ur memory card. this will allow u to use ringtones. the screen is absolutely amazinf. i dont know about the battery life yet. its still my first day. I used to have th erazr..so this phone is obviously thicker..but i dont mid it. The functionality is so nice. you will love it.

  • can this phone be used as an mp3 player in my car? if i buy the 2.5 adapter to fit into the phone and that also feeds into my tapedeck adapter in my car, will it work as an mp3 player? please help. thanks.

  • this phone looks awsome!!!bought it for $230. love the analog clock.

  • thank you for the .wma info it's been driving me crazy. the new windows media player makes conversion really easy and the phone allows you to navigate the whole file system with a bluetooth connection to the pc making clean up and file movement a breeze.

  • can this be available here in asia? i live in hong kong and i like this design than 6131... i hope this phone will be release in asia as well

  • I have seen posts stating that the analog clock does not work as screen saver for outside screen. It does on mine, just takes a few minutes to default over the digital clock.

  • 6131 - 2 = 6133 1.no push to talk 2.smaller phonebook

  • Just got this. Everything is fine cept the camera button gets pushed easy when using the flip button. Also, convert your custom ringtones to .WMA to get them to work. Bluetooth is fast. Photos are nice in fine mode and MicroSD is cheap!

  • I just thought I would comment on the fact that under the specs you guys list it has using miniSD when it actually uses microSD (transflash) thanks

  • i just bought this phone from tmobile cause i could get it discounted, and it has barely any customizability. the phone over all is good, but with a 200 dollar price point i think you could do better. great looks and size though, and the 1.3 megapixel camera is years better then the one that motorola offers in their phones(i have a v1050 and this camera runs circles around it, and the v1050's camera is the same as all motorola 1.3mp cameras)

  • I just ordered this phone, I have been in the market for a new phone for a while and I have done alot of reaserch, and it seems you just can't beat this phone, for the price and features, and nokia builds a very strong product, my girlfriend has a 6131 and beat the heck out of it and i use her's more than I use my sidekick 3, just cant be beat.

  • I m planning to buy this one. phone looks good on specifications but 1 thing that bugs me...."500 entries" and no fields, a little discouraging. is there any way to improve that

  • hey CAN any1 tell me wat significant difference is there between this one and the 6131??

  • I am loving the new Nokia 6133. I ordered it for my husband who has been using the Nokia 6101 for the last year. The screen clarity/color/brightness is great! I love how great the mp3's sound the camera/video work very well also. And it still has his most favorite thing, the radio! He listens to the 6101 radio about 3 hours a day. Now to just test the 6133 battery life that everyone seems to be frowning on. I'll post again in a week to let you all know.

  • The difference is the 6131 has a shorter battery standby life than the 6133, but the 6131 DOES NOT hang as much as the 6133!

  • there is no irda port (for user info)

  • Why is this phone better than the 6131? I do not see a significant feature that would make this phone better than the 6131, can someone tell me why is this phone better?

  • you can't use mp3's for ringtones but u can use wma's, u ppl who returned ur phone were too impatient, just convert ur mp3's to wma and they work fine

  • you cant use mp3 ringtones from the mem card or bluetooth on this phone, i just got it and just returned it. t mobile blocked that function in the symbian firmware, very dissapointed in t mo for this verizon move.

  • FINALY it is available in U.S. at

  • This is very bad phone i hate it bad receiption and freez a lotttttttttt i hate it!!!!!

  • Yup this phone is for Tmobile in the U.S and suppose to come out on Oct 23.

  • AFAIK this pohone is for us only, well this is the 6131 but for the us market. I'm quite disapointing as I prefer the 6133 design vs the 6131 one, and live in europe

  • warranty service of nokia, especialy in the phils is very poor. they are very disappointing.

  • for me that is nokia 6131,but they dont know what kind of phone to make

  • Hmm... I still think the 6131 is better, it has the same specs but I like the design better on my 6131. I like the fact that the external screen and camera are surrounded in a silver-chrome frame, makes it look more elegent and stylish.

  • its not even in the nokia files

  • I don't understand why nokia came out with a new model 6133 from the old 6131 but did not improve the specs... I like this phone a lot, the new design is good but they should have at least upgraded the camera to 2mp and a better battery life.

  • cool fone.. nokia is very good in clamshells n this will be a rockstar as 6131 is..

  • Yep, this looks good. One thing though, camera should be 2mp, then it would be a nice allrounder.
