Good quality phone ! Good ergonomics & performance. The only bad thing is - battery. Cannot expect more than 3 days ( even with the new one ). It drains out even if the phone is switched off.

had this phone a long time ago and had to revert back to it due to malfunctions with newest phone. i forgot how fun this phone really is, for a 1MP camera, its fantastic quality even compared to the up to date 8 megapixel camera's. it does everything necessary for a phone plus a little bit more for fun!! fantastic!!

this was a great mobile. i loved the screen,even though small but still very clear.and the 1 meg camera took surprisingly good pictures because of the really bright led flash. the mp3 buttons and front screen really rocked.great phone.shame i still like it today, wish i kept it,for keeps.well done samsung

This is a great phone !! had it for 2yrs almost and NEVER EVER gave me trouble. Dropped it quite often but still remained functional.... the reason why i'm changing it is now the buttons are getting stuck and it takes like 5 mins to write a msg, especially the HESH key.

Fantastic phone, I've had mine for over three years now, and I'm almost tempted to buy a new one now that mine is finally giving up, instead of upgrading to a newer phone. I make a lot of calls, and the battery still lasts for almost a week. The design is fantastic, and all over I sometimes find it hard to believe this phone was actually bought in 2005, cause it's better than lots of the newer phones.

I have had this phone for three years, it is easy to use, and has everything you really need. the number of times i have dropped it and even dropped it in a lake and still works perfect. The Camera isn't great but it is sufficient. A phone i would definatly recommend

Iv had this phone for years now and it is brilliant. I mean gawd u all seem to have soo many problems. If you want it to go silent hold down the frickin hash key where u wud usually dial a number. It has a good camera, good mp3 player, good headphones, good memory space for a phone without a memory card. easy to text and phone people on. Easy to store numbers in groups and that kind of thing. buy it if u want a simple to use phone that is pretty resistant to being dropped but still has technology like bluetooth!

I've been using this phone for quit sometime now, to me its just perfect. The camera is beeter that all those more expensive or so to say better feature phones. The only problem i have with it, it does ot ring and vibrate at the same time with the songs i download. My battery is kinda going so i need a new one but its hard to get it where i live (in the caribbean0, they dont even knew it existes. I tried charging my E720 with my LG charger (why do they have the same connection?) I wondered why the torch light was on, then realised that I had used the wrong charger and quickly unplugged it after about 5 mins, but the E720 seems dead now. Hi, I have this model phone and I'm very fond of it. It has a wonderful design and I plan on keeping it for much longer. I only have one problem.. I cannot add music or buy ringers. I understand to put music on via bluetooth it must be MP3 and I only have itunes so I would have to convert them. What I would like to know is if there's a way i can buy ringers ON my phone...can anyone help me out?

The only problem is that I saw is in the shop today (it cost about 150 euros) and the keyboard had normal letters ("abc") as well as some other symbols (most probably Korean). Is that normal? hey buddy, u can use it as a flash light. Just hold down the arrow button (when fone is closed) and the clock or ur picture on the front screen will appear. Then let go and holf it again for 2 seconds :)

I have the E720 for 3 months now and I must say it's a beautiful phone and it works fearly well. but I do have some isues with the reminder (organizer)feature.It's very cumbersome to work with, it requires you to punch in so much information for a simple reminder, unlike Nokia which goes straight to the point, date/time and done, and on top of that there is't a option where I can repeat the same reminder bimonthly. Does anyone know if there is an option where you can reprogram or modify the software on this phone so I can customize it to meet my needs? If not, I will have to change back to a Nokia. Sad though, because its a beautiful phone.

This phone is amazing, ive had it for a year and a half now and havn't had one single problem with it!! I have droped it hundreds of times and nothing has gone wrong. The camera and video quality is great and it has loads of memory so you dont even need a memory card. It is so simple to use also with very good keys to navigate around the features. The phone is ideal for anyone its a really tough phone with great flash which i use often as a torch as you dont need to be on camera or flip it up to use it. The battery life is really good it lasts me 5 days and i use the phone alot!! Anyone who has said anything bad about it or has had any problems has obviously got a defaulted phone. This is a fantastic phone i also take all of my photos with it as its very good quality for a phone. So go out and get yourself one!!

I have this phone for 6 months, and the single inconvenient is that it can`t ring and vibrate at the same time when a phonecall comes in. Oh, and it doesn`t have a memory slot, but it has 90Mb internal memory. The battery life is quite good (3 days in average). Above all these, it is a great phone!

I brought this handset over a yr and a half ago and it is the best handset i have ever had, The battery is excellant, the mp3 and camera are wicked. And the handset is sooooo strong. I have dropped it on concrete so many times and have also dropped it down the stairs and it has had no effect on the quality of it at all. I work with handsets and have never had a call about anything bad with this handset its 150% Fantastic.

the title 'multimedia phone' fits this phone perfectly. it is absolutly perfect in terms of its extra features (ie video, mp3, java etc) but lacks common essentials. (ie vibration and ring, POOR sound quality etc) i wouldnt recommend unless you use your phone only for txts.

Hi, when i kept the sim it is asking for the SIM CODE what is that for and i have given the code and therafter it is saying the wrong card and after that i have typed another CODE THEN its workign fine but when i switch it off its askinf for the same detaisl why its happening like that is there any solution for that

it's an exeptional phone, dude if u have money for it, don't hold ur thoughts, its great, but when ppl call u u hear them bit hard, but the mp3 are great on the speaker, no problem at all, pictures are awsome, and u can put 22 songs and 2 clips of 1 min on ur phone as i had, but thats the memory full so no space for pictures. games rock, aplciation rocks, what's not to like? :)

Pretty good phone except for one MAJOR difficulty. How do you get it to stay on predictive text?????? Drives me crazy every time I send a text to have to fiddle around for ages getting it on to predictive. Also, the previous model had the facility to set the alarm for a week ahead. This one is 24 hours only. Very annoying. Another step backwards????

this phone is sh...t ! i've had it for almost 2 years now,and the micro and speaker quality is the worst ever, even the guy of the shop tells me it's too bad to be normal,.for example,when i speak,not shout,people can barely hear me,and i can't understand what they say coz the sound is so muffled,so i sent it back to samsung,and they re sent it to me ,saying it's normal.so they only reseted the memory,didn't change the speaker AND DISACTIVATED THE MICRO,i had to send it back again. the two times they sent it back to me in a paper,no box,with a wire around it, samsung is a joke, i'll never buy samsung again.

Well ive had the E720 for around a couple of weeks and i LOVE IT! Its so stylish and has great features , Bluetoothing Pictures takes Seconds! , Videos take a little longer. The only problem i have found is i take several black pictures in my pocket because of the button on the side! Reading Previous review people have noted that the Sound quality whilst talking to someone is poop on the other end. Well Just for the record mine is absoulotley fine! Hope this helped! xx

The E720 for me is fantastic. It has loads of memory and it is really easy to use. My mum has the E530, and they're both pretty much the same. But, I'd go for the E720 because the shape of the E530 is difficult to use. I have an E720 and the only thing that annoys me is that I can't remember how to multitask it! IF you know how, please e-mail me and tell me, because it's quite annoying sometimes! Thanks!

This phone is amazing! I haven't got it myself but my mum has it and now she has a new contract phone she is giving it to me. It is about 8.5 cm long (when closed) and weighs 90 grams. The features on this phone include- four games, calculator, alarmclock, camera with 2 BRIGHT lights on the front of the phone, mp3 player with two decent dance tunes along with the other ringtones on the phone, the internet where you can download FREE ringtones (decent songs), mms and sms,find out the time in different parts of the uk and the rest of the world and LOTS more. The great thing about this phone is the picture quality and the camera is AMAZING! The only thing i could put down about the phone is that it has a small ok button in the middle of the arrow buttons but if you have small fingers (like me!) it shouldn't be a problem. on the display when you flip the phone down you can have either a picture you choose or a picture of a clock and there are LOTS of designs you can choose again with amazing picture quality. The advantage is that you do not actually have to open the phone to play a song on the mp3 as it has 3 buttons in the front - play, skip back and skip forwards. This phone is really and amazing phone and i'd reccomend it to anyone!

I have a problem with my e720 when call register is full. At the moment vhen you press the answer key it will restart. Then you must enter call register thru the menu and delete all received/sent/missed calls. I am very mad when I have to do that. When you have a lot of messages, sometimes it will restart when you try to send one. Microphone is awfull. This could be very good phone but there are some things that makes me angry with it.

I bought this phone in July 2005 and I must say I'm very pleased with it. The design is OK, the colours are superb, the photo and video camera is good and it's really easy to use this phone thanks to its very explicit menu. The only thing I don't like very much about it is that the MP3 is not so loud, but that is not the end of the world, is it? Any way, CONGRATULATIONS Samsung for an almost perfect phone (that because perfection does not exist, does it?.

i had the e720 for 2 months before it was stolen, and at first the switch from nokia to samsung cause me to be critical of the phone and its features, but eventually i got to love it, not long before it was stolen. the only downsides i could think of was that the phone didnt vibrate on incoming calls/messages unless it was on silent, the wallpaper only taking up a small area of the main screen, short battery life, small amount of room for mp3s, and the uselessness of the outside screen.it didnt display recived messages or missed calls, you had to open it every so often to check. im soon to be receiving a samsung e770 which seems to quite the same only with some nice improvements, such as a 1.3mp camera, memory card slot and wallpaper that covers the entire display.

It is the worst phone I have ever owned, it is slow, it doesn't have everything the manual says it should have, but worst of all is the mic, people cant hear me very well and I cant hear them at all most of the time, I have to keep ringing over and over before it decides it wants to work properly. VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!!!!!!

I don't have the phone yet but im getting one, when my mates contract runs out and they upgrade they're giving me the old e720 ive used it a couple of times and it seems canny, i had a samsung e330 for a hile and the user interface is similar so im happy. it will be a big step from my nokia 3510(not the colour screen one) which i have been using. i think nokia dominated the market for mobile phones when they were simply mobile phones but now i feel Samsung have sped ahead and are winning the race, i remember when everyone was bragging about there new nokia 3310, which everyone had except me and my ericsson A1018's coca cola promotional phone with the coca cola ringtone and interchagable fascias.

Plz can sum1 help me!! last week this phone got very wet in my bag when a drink leaked and it worked for about 10 mins after then it stopped complety. Then for 1 day it did'nt turn on at all but eventually when all the water dried up the phone turned on but only displays insert sim card everytime. Everything else is there including the time, battery and reception level and it turns on and off fine and even vibrates but it won't do anything else. The sim works in a another orange phone fine so it not the sim so now i dnt no wat to do!!! plz do any1 have any suggestions i would b very grateful!! :) xxx

When talking to people on the phone I will guarantee that during the call you will have to get the person to repeat themselves. The speaker in the ear piece is nothing more than shockingly bad, I thought it was me but you can't remove ear wax that isn't there. There are also small features about the phonebook which causes niggles butI know when I upgrade my phone they're going to turn into major headaches. The battery life is a pain in the rear end, if you like to chat never leave home without a charger. PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE. I must admit that it has been a good phone despite it's niggles and lousy speaker, it is pretty durable and even now after 12 months it still looks good (I do drop it on a regular basis and abuse it).

i like this phone a lot memory is really good, pretty easy to use, i like the design also. the ony things i dont like about it is the fact that the music doesnt sound that good, theres no speakerphone and also, correct me if im wrong(id love to sort it out) but you cant have a ringtone playing when its mp3 and have the phone vibrate at the same time. if only it did!!! great phone overall though

I feel quite dissapointed. i loved this phone, i made it unique and was happy with it. it has great memory space, takes goos pictures and videos, a really bright light and a few alright games, basically your getting my jist. i had this phone for a whole 10 months and it was stolen from me and i have payed �7.99 in insurance on the phone for the last 10 months and the company upset me when it took well over a month for a new one to come and then to find that it just keeps getting worse!

Phone has great features and a good camera and memory except lacks the most important feature for a mobile phone..CALL QUALITY! There is no speakerphone, so the maximum volume is pathetic unless there is complete silence around you. I dont suppose anyone knows how to improve this? Thanks.

Overall i think the E720 is a brilliant fone....tonnes of memory...brilliant sound quality and picture perfect everytime....this is not a bad phone and i would recommend one to anybody...to get the clock display on the front ...take a random pictur...set it as front wallpaper....and then delete the picture!!!...the only dislike about the fone is the navigation menu on the home screen...its is to wide..apart fromm that..exellent fone

Had this phone for about a year, upgrading to a nokia 6280 this week. I read all the reviews about the sound before i bought it and sorry to say that it is true, i don't really know how i've put up with it for a whole year! Some conversations are near impossible while others arent so bad. Nice phone to use however. Only other downside is that you can't have vibrate and audiable alert together for sms

yep it is true that the sound is kinda bad.. i have to say its even worse than the radio so dont bother using this as a mp3 player, if ur really using this phone as a mp3 player, u should go for walkman phone like w600 or w900. The other features for the phone is pretty well done especially the camera/video and the daym nice original design. The buttons are easy to press and there are a lot of features - sound, etc. The onli downside i have to say is the screen and the wallpaper ratio.., the screen/border basically takes up half of the screen so basically, ur wallpaper is small as hell and it is difficult to create you own one and transfer it to ur phone with usb as a wallpaper. feel free to ask me more questions for Samsung E720 or Sony Ericsson W600i - [email protected]

Had this phone on trial as Samsung is generally very good. The sound is unfortunately very poor most of the time. It makes no difference the provider of the reciptients phone and whether on pay as you go or contract. Very unfortunate :( The other downside is the (now thank you Samsung) the ability to add to the T9 dictionary. Sadly this is limited to about 20 only, so its a little pointless being asked to "Add" a new word when it wont store it. The clock also never remains on the front screen. Sorry Samsung but its off to try a different phone. If you don't talk much on your mobile, OR text different words, its a great phone. Pity its so unusable :(:(:(

Regarding getting no service. You must change the network to support the carrier you have. Example T mobile uses 1900. Once you find out which networ your phone uses and change it to that your phone will work. I know because I hade the same problem. Hope this helps.

Samsung E 720 is a great phone, excellent sound, very good camera filming and the design is a special one. I have bought it 6 months before,i used to have Samsung E 800 with a slide system, which was nice despite all the commentaries, but it didn't have an MP3.i recommend it.

hey i have this phone and if anyone was to buy this phone i would re-think it because i have only had this phone for about 10 months and its already going funny in the way that the screen crashes and it is very slow. it doesn't hold much music although on the good siode the mp3 is very easy to get to, although you should conside locking the mp3 as it can easy come on and waste battery if you dont hear it thank you x

Ive had this phone a yr now and though its a great phone,on the down side volume is low for ring tones and music even when on loudest setting.Also camera and video are not good in the dark,not much good if ya use them on a night out!And ya cant have a message tone other than prefixed ones. I recently broke my Sony Ericsson K700i and I got the Samsung E720 as replacement. So far I'm quite pleased with it. It doesn't have as many features as my old phone but it sure has a lot of them packed into a smaller and more user friendly design. The camera works nicely and the buttons on the front to play music are a real plus. It's a nice phone; I recommend it.

if u go into ur music file and add sond to playlist u can then play ur songs using the front buttons. each song has to be added to playlist to do this. hope this helps xxx

The analog clock on the outside screen does disappear it is how the software on the handset has been set, You can change the analog clock to an image of your choice from your album. I have me and my fiance on mine and it does disappear after a few seconds as it is supposed to. Nothing can be done to change this as it is the software installed to the handset.

Word of advice. NEVER buy handsets from ebay because if they turn out to be faulty you cannot get a refund for it... You can never be too careful. I work with mobiles and have had many people who call me with faults on handsets which they have purchased on ebay and theres nothing that can be done apart from trying to resolve the faults via resets etc. I brought the e720 nearly a year ago and it has to be the best handset so far, I have had many handset but theres soooo much on the e720 and it is sooo easy to function. Give it a chance people trust me I get calls on handset faults every day and never have I received a call on the e720. If your experiancing problems with making and receiving calls or text then test your sim in another handset as it could always be a sim issue, Or simply try resetting your handset to see if this will prevent the faults.

Received this phone as an insurance claim. Experienced what seems to be a fairly common fault, with the handset not switching cell towers whilt i was travelling, forcing me to power the phone off and on to get reception. A simple software upgrade has taken care of the problem, and my handset is now issue free. That said, it was an aggravating problem to put up with until I got myself back to the dealer I purchased it from. Speaking as someone who sells mobile phones for a living, I can recommend this phone. It is easy to use, has decent battery life and reasonable functionality. Users wanting high end performance should look elsewhere, but if you are looking for a reliable, inexpensive handset, this may be a solid choice for you.

This is my current phone, its coming up a year old and its impossible to break, ive done everything from throw it in water to run it over and its still scratch free. I love it it has great camera and video quality. Infact i cant think of any faults with it.

If you use predictive text, DO NOT purchase this phone, its t9 dictionary has a limit that you cant knowingly extend (and before you ask, no it dosnt say anything in the manual about t9 dictionary having a limit) it learns i guess 40 entries or so, then stops learning... nice one samsung(!)

Its a good buy, people are just nit-picking. There are people who nit-pick every phone. You can't go wrong with this phone. The only thing that may concern you, is that the camera is 1 megapixel, although thats not bad (ive taken some good pictures) there are lots of phones with better quality cameras. But saying that, the rest of the phone is top notch, and competes with the best of the best.

WASTE OF TIME - DON'T BUY AN E720. I recently bought the E720 on an insurance claim. After I bought it I read all these negative comments but thought I might be lucky. I'm sorry to say, but it is the crapest phone I have ever had. I could not receive messages or make any phones calls. I had to repeatably turn the phone off and on to make it work. I checked with my service provider and they said it was a faulty phone. Took it back after 2 days, and Samsung have provided me with the upgraded version E770, which so far seems to be working without a hitch.

The samsung e720 is a phenomenal phone. It offers everything a phone can and has great video resolution. The mp3s play perfectly and the bluetooth works like lightning i had a few problems installing its software on my pc but that had nothing to do with the phone, this phone deserves a 10/10

I like my e720, the only problems are that you cant set your message tone to sound and vibrate like my old e700, you have to either set a tone OR vibrate. Also my reception drops all the time, although the bar is full, not allowing me to make/recieve calls or messages. To fix this problem the phone needs to be turned off then back on again so the phone can get the strongest signal from the towers, again a problem my e700 didnt have. Samsung have made a good phone, but by focusing on new features they have left out some essentials. if anyone knows how to fix the signal problem, as IT IS NOT MY NETWORK CARRIER, please email me at [email protected]

Barry, just download a software package such as Kazaa or Ares (www.Officialares.com) with the latter being better and quicker. You can download songs, which are in MP3 format. Then use an existing programme, one that you got with the data-cable to send them via the cable to your phone. Hope this helps!

U cannot use downloaded files as ringtones or message tones because they have a copy right protection on them which means the files downloaded can only be used for listening to via the mp3. Only ones that get bluetoothed from other handsets can be used as ringtones but there are specified tones for messages. Thats the way the handset software has been set up.

Hey For all the people that have this phone and can't make or recieve calls.. try checking the bands its on if you are in the US. then it should be on 1900 otherwise the bands selection should be on 900/1800 I had the same problem. and that did the trick. hope it works for everyone else

Overall it is a good mobile phone.The menu is easy to use,furthermore it is stable.The phone didn't freez even once (I use it for one month).The quality of calls is not as high,as I expected.Sometimes I cannot understand what my caller says!The antena could be more sensitive.You are not able to magnify recieved photos,even if they are in 1Mpix resolution.And the biggest disapointment!PC link software is the worst I have used in my life!!!I use bluetooth to connect phone with the computer.It takes aproximetely 1 minute to transfer 200kb of data!!!The bluetooth connection is not stable,the phone disconnects all the time.I used Nokia 6230i and I also used to connect Nokia with the computer through bluetooth.The established connection was stable,furthermore the speed of data transmision is aproximetely 60 times faster than in samsung e-720.The Samsung is elegant mobile.The number of functions is rich-only on the paper,but real functionality of this mobile is not as high as it should be for today mobile phone (eg.the lack of profiles).I don't reccomend this mobile to You.Nokia-old ,good manufacterer. The phones by Nokia are easy to connect with PC every posibble way and they are as easy to use as Samsung.My recomendation is NOKIA

I am trying to load songs onto my new phone and followed the instructions above, but when i open the File Manager i cant select music in the top left hand corner. When i open the PC Studio PIM & File Manager i get an error message which says "Cannot open the port and this program is switched in offline mode. After, try to switch in online". I hate Samsung! I have had the E720 for two months. I cannot make or receive calls!! I have sent it away for repair twice and it is still faulty. I am now dealing with Samsung. They are rude, unfriendly and unhelpful. I have called the service centre 5 times and have been left on hold for 15-20 mins each time. They will not replace the phone and I am about to send it away again for the 3rd time! Don not purchase a Samsung!

Hi me again, I forgot to ask when viewing your contacts can you choose how you want to view them ie. view sim card or view phone or view both and does it tell how much memory left in them? Also are you able to copy from one to the other? I think this phone is great and fantastic looking however I am extremely careful with mine and it still messed up. Swithces off all the time and doesnt switch on in the morning sometimes even though the battery has some juice left. Bringing it into o2 to see what they can do about it. Otherwise a great looking and well featured phone.

I'd rather have this phone than a Samsung D500/D600, because the screen is protected in a clam-shell, whereas the D500/D600, the screens are massive and they are very fragile phones. Yeah they might look swish with its sliding thing and might have little more features than the E720 but for the price, its a risk if they should they break. Ive had my E720 for a while now, its never let me down, ive dropped it a few times, put it in and out of my pocket umpteenth times and yet, not scratches on either the external and internal screens! The sound quality is not at all bad! Don't listen to some other people, ive read lots of reviews saying that its not up to standard, that is total tosh. Those people saying that are obviously jealous of someone who had a E720 and are trying to get people to avoid it like the plague. Sound is not a problem, yeah its not the clearest, but its a mobile phone... so expecting the crispest sound should not be a factor. I can hear people fine and ive even asked the people on the other end if they hear me and if i sould muffled. They said i sounded fine. To me this is the best looking and easily acessible phone on the market. The buttons are perfect for texting, games, camera etc. The camera is even good and the video is the best you can get on a phone. In fact this and the D600 both have the same video quality. The Mp3s can be played aloud and the is sound a little tinny, but thats what is expected. Phones are not able to deliver alot of base as you would expect from a stereo. But it doesn't mean the sound isnt clear, infact using the ear-phones (that come with the phone) you are able to hear the current song in all its glory and the base is fine! Take it from me, im honest with reviews... take it into account that i prefer clam-shells. But you can't go wrong if you buy this phone. The cheapest i found it on pay as you go was at �125 from the Orange shop online. That is worth every penny and they were great service, got it within 4-5 days.

I have had this handset for a few months on PAYT and it is the greatest handset I have had. The camera is good quality and the mp3 handset is great. There is soooo much on this handset. i have this fon for over 3 mths now..at first i was rely dumbfounded by its features n design.n i rely liked it. but i was quite disappointed wen i found out that the sound quality is rely bad. people can barely hear me wenevr i get calls. the ringtones and message tones are barely noticable, even if u set it at the highest level. moreover, during text messaging.. i get rely annoyed dat the symbol ' are not included in the short cut key, it requires to press * and scrolling for it. and it wud be nicer if the fon can vibrate simulataneously with the ringing. having a big memory doesnt rely matter to me, but sum simple things like i have mentioned do.

Hi Thu, to get symbols press and hold the # key while entering a message. This will bring up the symbol menu which you can scroll through to find what you want. Alternatively you can reach it through the options menu. Select * for input method then 8 for symbols.

hey i love this phone..its very stylish and all however the first time i charged it the battery lasted about 8 hours!!! Then on the second time it lasted almost 2 days..but that might be due to excessive camerea and mp3 usage..but i didnt use it that much. Also i have no problems with sound quality as in other people can hear me clearly but at my end the person sounds kind of muffled. ONE more thing..i cant figure out how to do these symbols whilst sending a text message - []*' ...can anyone help me? Or does the phone just not contain those characters? Well i bought my E720 on 30 Dec 05 in Kampala (Uganda)Its a good phone. I first admired it from the net then on the above date i decided to go and buy it.On a positive note I dont hv a problem with the sound as like many pipo have xpressd their dissatisfaction. However my problem lies with the battery life! Only 2 days? Also when am charging it, it doesnt show me the RED light that according to the manual indicates perfect charging instead it always shows me the ORANGE light. Plz some one out there help xplain to me why the RED light has refused to appear! And also the battery level doesnt blink during the so called charging process. am totally confussed this time round some 1 help me out with answers.

I've had this phone for about seven months. Personally, I think the features of this phone are fantastic. I haven't had a problem with the sound quality on my end, but there is a problem with how -I- sound to other people. In a nutshell they say I sound like I have my hand over the mic (which I don't...) Extremely muffled. I don't know if this is just a fluke or if other people are experiencing this as well. I was highly disappointed because I love the phone but I paid a lot for it and it makes me sound horrible. After all, isn't talking the main purpose of a mobile in the first place?

i got this fone yesterday! 22/12/05, it looks amazin and very eyecatching, i loved it as soon as i saw it.As soon as i turned it on it has a lovely welcome song! its on o2 so it was a blue screensaver which looks brill, the cover on the outside also is very stunning! the camera and video are amazing quality, the sound is brilliant, its fairley easy to use, and has a lot of storage space. i got a free bluetooth headset with it. it cost me �180 which i wudn't normally pay for a fone but it is worth every penny, i love it. my boyfriend loves it too, and is amazed by the games!!!!lol!!! overall this fone is absoultly stunning a good buy i would recomend its amazin i love it!!!! hope every1 has a good xmas xxxhxxxx

I bought the E720 in September and have been using it since. I was expecting it to fall to pieces after the first month or so, seeing as it seems to be more a toy than a serious phone, but after almost three months of heavy-duty usage there's not even a scratch on it. Now, concerning some common complaints about this handset: - Personally I find that the biggest drawbacks are: only a couple of preset melodies ring and vibrate simultaneously, you can't do the same for most presets nor for custom-set tones, AND you can't customize text tones. Why? Nobody knows. - I was a bit dissapointed with the battery at first, because it died quite fast for the first week or so - but I continued to stretch the battery for another week and now it lasts up to four days. You need to format the battery first, and avoid rapid charging at all costs! This applies to all mobiles, by the way. - The sound quality could be better, true, but it's not terrible, as some people tend to claim. I find that adjusting the volume level helps with this issue (despite what most people think, louder IS NOT better!) - Great video and photo quality for a mobile, plus lots of nifty features in the camera (frames, effects and the flash kicks serious butt). - The screen is clear and crisp, one thing that bothers me is the fact that I can't download skins. The four that are included are a tad corny... - The mp3 player is neat, with a few sound options (jazz, rock, classical, 3D), skins, playing modes (shuffle, repeat one, repeat all). Too bad you can't text and listen at the same time... - Bluetooth is fast and easy to use. Overall I think it was worth the money. There's no such thing as a perfect phone, all have their drawbacks, and you can remedy most problems if you read the manual (which most people forget about).

Got the phone in July 2005. Happy with camera/video function. Only now after 5 months of storing pixs/vid am I getting near the ample memory limit. Easy to use and though not the lightest phone it is comfortbale to carry. Good feature is ring and vibrate. Plenty of battery life even with multi function use. The sound. It is disappointing. My partner has a D500 and it is in a different league. Playback quailty of MP3s and calls are noticeably better on the D500. However, aside from this I love the functions, ease of use and reliabilty.

As a phone the quality of sound thru the earpiece is the worst we have ever heard, it sounds like someone has a sock over the phone. My last unit was a 700 and the sound quality was 100 times better. Very dissapointed, am considering sending it back it sounds so bad.

good phone, looks gr8 has high memory but doesnt have memory card slots 2 upgrade it. doesnt vibrate and ring at the same time, doesnt have loadspeaker during calls which i think is lil stupid while it has a loudspeaker 4 the music. the battery lasts a long time and it looks gr8. itsa good fone but could b improved on with simple features.i recomend this fone and it stands out from the others but i prefare the features that nokia have. the fone wolud b perfect if it had a memory card in it, loud speaker 4 calls and vibrating and ringing at the same time (like nokia)

Can I you guys ask something before I go and buy the phone? Firstly does the bluetooth allows you to send everything and with no limit of size? Because fir example Sharp does not allow files greater than 100kb to be transferred to another phone or to be received. Secondly, is the memory of the phone shared? I mean all sony-ericsson phones store only 200 messages but nokia phones as many as you want! Thirdly can it be connected with the pc and having all the operations I want? Has no1 else found that the audio quality when talking to ppl on this phone is POOR!! its liek someone has a sock over it. i sent it back the first time thinking it was broken but the new one they sent was still bad. I bought a USB cable for my E720 from DataKits.co.uk It was only �10 including p&p and it arrived in 3 days. There is software included which allows me to download/upload stuff to and from my computer. I recommend buying one.

This is a great phone indeed. Its only flaw is the lack of a memory card, 90 Mb is not even close to enough for a mobile phone that has all those mp3 player functions. I miss my old Nokia 6230i with a 512 Mb MMC.

Jamie. You should be able to play the MP4 files on your PC with 'Quick Time Player'. You can download it from the net free. I am assuming you are using windows XP. if so, go to, If you are using an older version of Windows, you can still find it without too much trouble.

This is one of the nicest looking phones around. It's nice clamshell design make it look not only modern but quite smart too. What with the MP3, Video, Flash/Zoom Camera, Bluetooth and cutting edge technology, The screen and performance of this phone is completely up to scratch. Everything about this phone is amazing and I highly recomend it to anyone interested. The only down point I can think of is that if you are a new Samsung user, this is not the best model to get you used to the controls as it is quite hard to navigate. Well Done Samsung!!!

Yeah, top notch phone but don't get impressed with the MP3 function as it's more trouble than it's worth. Apparantly you need to purchase a seperate cable to download music onto it from your PC and where do I find EasyStudio??? Certainly nowhere to be found on the Samsung website. Just ask Santa for a real MP3 player and use the phone for what its designed for, phoning.

you can not recond your voice and set it as a ring tone. in video recording the video is great but the sound not that good. battery life is pretty decent. i charge my phone every other day. the flash is decent but works well upclose only. makes a very good torch. to save your voice as a ringtone: use a mic to recond whatever voice to your computer. convert this to mp3 and transfer it to your phone.

stuff you need: -usb driver software -pims file manager software -usb cable if you didnt get this software with your phone in a cd, you can just download it from the samsung website for free. step by step process: -do not connect your phone to the pc -install the usb driver -install the pims file manager -restart the computer -do not open the software. -turn your phone on and connect it to the pc with the usb cable -your computer should install it automatically -now open the pims software and it should pick up your phone. inside the software: -click on the button at the top (one arrow pointing up another pointing down) -use the dialogue box, that opens, to move stuff between your computer and phone. -you can move mp3's only to the music folder of the phone. -you can move pictures only to the downloaded photos folder. -move mp4's to the downloaded video's folder of the phone. email me if you still have problems. >>freewonderingsoul at yahoo dot com

i have this phone for a few months now and have no complaints..love it! battery life is good-3-4 days and sound quality is fine. I bought a usb cable and cd for about a fiver on ebay and have transferred loads of ringtones and wallpapers ( the selection of default ringtones are pretty weird) the colour screen is quality, games are great as are the graphics. The video is top too. The cable is straight forward. USB connection and make sure you have bluetooth activated. Once it is you can backup ur phone bk, transfer photos, edit photos, upload new ringtones, pics etc ..compose ringtones (which is easy i too) Anyway its a great phone for all those ppl who are unsure bout getting it!

GREAT PHONE!! i just got it like a week ago and i treat it like my baby its THAT SPECIAL! great color screen in AND out and awesome video recording quality and awesome design. great battery life. one bad thing is that it doesnt vibrate and ring at the same time you have to wait for 3 vibrations and then the melody comes out. samsung should change that.

The USB program works, all you have to do is go into EasyStudio and in Setup, select COM5 (it may vary between computers, I use a Dell Inspiron 600m)... In whatever case, just select each of them and click reload and use whichever one works.

I've had this phone for over a month now and I am very satisfied with it. No complaints about the sound quality whatsoever. The only this is the available ringtones, not a single normal tone there! Another, related, issue is the fact that mp3 sounds cannot be used in the alarm clock function. Only horrible sounds to wake up with!

I am impressed with my E720, but one of the requests I made before I bought it was that I could completely lock my phone (my original Panasonic did this) There are apparently different locks on the E720, Phone lock, Privacy, these two work fine, but I want to prevent calls being made, hence, Call Barring. The cd and the USB came with the phone but there were no instructions so i had to wing it. the PIMS and File manager intalled fine but says it is "Offline" or "nothing". The mic next to the ear piece is for the video sound and should have no affect during calls. The mic you use during calls is at the other end of the phone, well away from the ear piece. But you are spot on with your description of the poor sound Jacob. I am on my fourth handset now, and they have all been the same, RUBBISH! Welcome to the muffled world of the E720. Yes, I know there are people out there who have 'good' ones and are happy, but there are a huge number of people who are having problems. Samsung should do the decent thing and sort it out. One thing is for sure, I will never buy another Samsung.

to get pic messages with o2 you should ring them up directly, give them phone make and model and they will give u step by step instructions on what to di. they will even ring u back to save your phone bill and do it with u, alternatively u can request via phoning them to send it by email which is just as easy. hope that helps

No, there aren't any ways to change the message tones, you have to pick one of the ones that comes standard. The phone has about 82 MBs, which, if you're using standard Mp3 format, probably holds about 20 full length songs assuming you don't reserve a lot of memory for pictures and videos. You can set Mp3's in lower quality format however without being able to notice much.

i have a problem, i downloaded an image onto my phone. The image however didn't come up on the phone, and whenever i scoll through my photos now, when i get to the end of the photos, it turns off, then on again. Also i can not view the first and last photos in my gallery.... WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY FONE??? HOW CAN I FIX IT!?!? SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ASAP!

i had trouble with the pc transfer stuff too. but finally got it working, heres how: first install the software given on the disk. then restart your computer. now you have two usb ports in the computer. plug the cable into com3 and the other end into the phone (make sure your phine is on). now open the phone connecting software (set it to detect com3 by default).your phone will not show yet. now set the software to com4 but keep the usb in com3 and connected to your mobile. press the refresh button. disconect the phone from the cable for 1 second then reconnect it. now set your thing to detect com3 again and cick the refresh button. it will now detect your phone. every time you restart your computer you will have to do the set to com4,refresh then set back to com3 again. it really is a lot simpler than it sounds and not difficult at all. for any problems you can email me through "freewonderingsoul at yahoo dot com"

Lets say something that it's obvious.. You people like E720 more then the "upgrade" (E730)!An upgrade has more features-ok- BUt keeps the other ones from the less upgrade phone INTACT!I'll say what i had in mind: 1.The video is 176 with 144(E730) and 352 with 288 pixels(E720)! 2.The diodes --I think you know what i mean E720 is beater. 3.The external screen 96 with 96(E720)and 80 with 65(E730). the video will record depends the size of the memory if its 90mb that is about 1hr MP3 u have to buy USB conector somewhere because the e730 it comes with it...if you can find one get a BLUETOOTH device for ur pc then you can transfer music to the phone using bluetooth... any question feel free to email me nate

The easy way is to get yourself a Bluetooth Dongle. They are quite cheap now. I got this one, if you want a look, go to You can upload/download music, video, photos, just about anything the phone can handle. It's easy! Don't forget, the dongle can be used with all sorts of Bluetooth equipment, so when you change phone in the future you don't have to buy another. Hope this helps.

80-90mb is definitely not enough to store mp3 but it can definitely store lots and lots of midi files and since it is 64 polyphonic i guess most midi files can be played on the phone!

I have had the E720 for a few months now, and I have had a new phone every 6 months, and the comments I have heard about this phone being of bad sound is false. The only bad points I can say about this phone is there is no infrared and little memory bank. Above all else I would say 9/10 for effort from samsung. The bluetooth is great for downloading music and photos.

Brilliant phone. NO problems with sound quality. Took me a few try's to get the down/uploads going but after that I found it ezy...If your computer can recognize your phone and you have installed the PIMS disk then click on FILE MANAGER and go from there....

hey guys, i've had a samsung e720 for almost 3 months now, for as long as I can remember everytime i get a call or make a call the other person hears strong static in the background. But i can't hear it. only the other person hears it. and the static goes in and out and sometimes really loud that they can't hear me. Had my E270 a week now and this is a great little phone.The mp3 player is so easy to load and use(i used a bluetooth attachment to my pc)i read about probs with speech but so far i have no complaints at all

its pretty easy to transfer files from pc to phone and viceversa,first of all u must install drivers and then plug the the phone to the pc via usb, the easy studio app is quite simple to understand. and yeah, i recharged my phone for 4-5 hours and battery last around 4-5 days in a stand-by mode.. this is great. this phone is great, just a little bit problems with displays exposed to daylight, but n fact, as i already said, this is an awesome phone

lol Dawn, some service providers such as mine aren't e-mail compatible. I think you should check because I'm not entirely sure. You should refer to the manual for chaning the pin. I think all sims have different default pins. E-mail me if you want further help. To Johnny, it is possible to change the message tone, go settings > sound settings and message tone. However you cannot have a custom tone.

It really depends on your network and usage. Mine lasted four hours from first rechrage with heavy use. Now it seems to be able to last up to 5-6 days on standby for me. I don't know about anyone else but the battery is fine for me, as is the sound and signal.

i purchased my phone about a three days ago and i had a bit of trouble with the pims and file manager as it kept saying it was offline. what i did was uninstall everything then installed it again with the internet off, i made the phone modem com4 and then when i opened the pims and file maneger went to settings and changed it to com 4. i didnt connect to the internet at all and it worked. i think you have to actually be offline for it to work. how strange, it will just do its own thing through com4

Johnny, did you make sure the date is set correctly? Sean, you can change the front display by going to settings > display settings > wallpaper > cover display > select wallpaper images. The analogue clocks should be there.

I have had the e720 for about 4 months hardly any problems at all yes i have noticed that it scratches pretty easy just wanted to help other users. The charger does not show on the actual phone that it is charging it will show a red light then green when it is full. That really confused me :-o my battery actually lasts quite a while a little disapointed as the e710 came with a spare battery but this did not have loads of mmp3s and the sound quality is good

I got this phone on the Optus 55 plan too.. I must admit I think the sound is inferior to my sonyericsson t610... You gotta turn the volume down a bit perhaps otherwise the voice seems to distort a bit.. It also seems difficult to record sound with the microphone effectively (very quiet). All that said I still love the phone :)

I bought this phone a few weeks ago. I am pretty happy with it, but the battery seems to get low rather quickly and the sound quality when making a call is pretty crap. I have noticed that the reason for the low battery is becuase sometimes I will get the phone out of my bag and realise that I have just recorded a 15 min video of nothing. I just got this phone yesterday with Optus on a $55 plan ( for all you australian kids who'd like to know). I have no idea what you people are talking about with the sound. I just rang my mum. I have really bad reception and i could hear her as clear as day. The camera is such good quality. All round good phone. The phone is so small and lite weight. Yes the sound quality while on a call is crappy on this phone. But, since I like the phone so much and paid so much $$ for it. I always use my bluetooth headset, which has far better sound quality and your callers can hear you better.

This phone i can tell u people is very good. the features are very hi-tech, especially the video recorder. i do admit there is alot of menus to go threw to find specific things like sending an sms but that shoudnt be a reason for not getting the phone its not that much of a con. i recomend this phone to people who will actually use its features like MPEG4, mp3, video recorder camera and stuff. To upload mp3s is easy, just buy a USB cable or BlueTooth Dongle and connect it into your phone. Also Download "EasyStudio II 2.0 PIMS & File Manager". pretty much self explanatory after that. As for the phone. This Phone is pretty Darn GREAT. I'm in the US, and not many phones that are out can measure up to this phone. Mp3 players pretty cool, its light,slick,and easy to use. Only some downs about the phone which are hardly even worth writing. GREAT PHONE GET IT ASAP!

the e720 is a much over rated its true it looks good and it can be easy to use, but i was unhappy with it booklet set out i would have to take hours out of my time to find out how some parts of the phone works and camara isnt verygood at a party !!!

ok dis fone is really great its gd lookin and has a very gd video camera so if dats wat your after buy it but the sounds not too gud it sounds like d person is talkin 2 u is all quiet like they r talkin from behind a cloth oh and the dictionary sux it doesn't store a single word trust me i had to learn it the hard way...

I am on my 3rd one now. Gorgeous looking phone, sharp display, crap volume and crap signal. I think I must conclude by the other feedbacks, if you are happy not to hear your phone ring and miss calls, and get a bug free phone, which to date I havent, then it is fine. I hate the sight of it now cos I have had 3 due to hanging and signal problems. Wish I had stuck to Nokia now!

This fone is useless.. yeah its pretty funky and feature wise its wow, but u have to go through about 6 diff menus and options just to send a freaking sms! Also to get to general options, there is a lot of navigating through menus! not very time efficient!

Hey, I just bought this phone, i was a Nokia user before this...but the E720 is just so beautyful and stylish, i could not resist. It has a fairly decent MP3 Player, and can store about 14 songs while still having around 3mbs for pictures. To use the easy studio 2 program try changing the Com ports in file>setup (restart after changing) it should work. For all the Nokia users wanting to take the change i recomend this phone because it has a very similar operating system from Nokia, just a step below and slightly harder but you can get used to it. The more important thing is that you have this stylish piece of phone, and as we all know Nokia makes the worst flip phones. Enjoy your new fashion item! Taa!

for those who r going to buy it!!! pls do not be trick by those who describe mp3 tones loud and clear. its even softer than any other mobile phones/ cant even compare with a 8250!. if your r going to put it in your pocket without vibrate, be prepare to see miss calls! theres nothing samsung can do abt it. i regretted buying it. it would be the last samsung for me. just bought a w800i. though its a bit expensive, sure its worth the $$$.

hey biljana, you said that EasyStudio only displayed COM1 & COM3. i think that u might have the earlier version of EasyStudio. if you dont have EasyStudio 2, take this link and select your phone model to download the latest software.. after installing go to setup and there should be COM ports 2 & 4. Try COM4 as that is the port that works for me. If it is still showing 'Offline' after you do this, make sure that ur usb cable is plugged in properly or isnt faulty.

i love samsung e720, as probably many other people that visit this site. Unlike many believe, the sound quality is great, and i really mean it...it's great. I'm sad to see that because the message sound is not loud enough, ppl say the phone "sucks"....that's just stupid. So if you want the best phone on the market do what i did...buy the samsung e720 :)

hi guys, i have had this fone for nearly 3 months and im really pleased with it. im always downloading the latest tunes from the net - i had 2 buy the dongle tho but i can us it with other fones in the future. i have had the v3 and although it was better looking that the e72 it only held 1 tune and this holds bout 10-ish. i absolutly love this fone and would recomend it 2 every 1. i have no problems with the sound quality at all. the only thing i would have liked is a memory stik and 2 be able 2 chose my own message tone. apart from that its brill. my mum now has one and thinks its excellent. she had the sharp gx20 b4 and didnt think she could better it. i have yet 2 c another fone that betters this at the moment 4 both style, features and brillness!!! get the fone and enjoy it. loopy lisa

I ordered this handset as a business upgrade from a Nokia. I have also used Motorola phones. Although it looks very stylish and the visuals are excellent, it's next to impossible to use the predictive texting mode with any form of ease or speed. The sound quality when making a phone call is also poor compared to both other makes and I didn't realise that this model doesn't have the option to switch to hands free speaking mode without a car kit. If function is more important than style then this isn't the phone for you.

Just bought it... I think it's a very nice phone! Nice screen(s) and the desing and functionality are better than I could ever imagine. CONS: - I can't upload JAVA-Games with bluetooth - I can't change the theme - Battery life seems a bit less than my previous Nokia phones but I gave it a hard time by using it constantly for testing so it might be my fault! Hehe... - You loose a lot of wallpaper-space due to the menu (The huge clock and the coloured bars). It has a big screen but the actual wallpaper size is dissapointing. As you can see these are all small issues and not of great importance. Overall I really like the phone and I'm happy I bought it!

great phone uploading is easy from a pc all you need is a belkin usb bluetooth key. phone can hold 85mbs of mp3s will also play aac. i'm using mine to play converted music videos in 3gp format with stereo sound no problems as yet

hey everyone these questions have being asked a lot so i thought i might help out! for the people that are having the problem with EasyStudio2 showing 'Offline' when their phone is conneted,(if you havent tried this already) go to File->Setup then use the drop down menu and select COM4 then close & reload the program. i also had this problem and this worked for me, hopefully it will work for you too! and for those who cant transfer MP3's to their phones.. make sure you've selected the music folder on your phone in the file manager. i dont know how it may be with yours but on my file manager i need to select 'Down Contents' -> 'Audio'and then i can select mp3's to upload to my phone. hopefully that helped!

Hey all i jus got my samsung e720 a week ago and im happy with it apart from the fact that the battery doesnt last too long.but hey im a teen n txt waaay too much so its probably due to that and the fact that the clock on the outer-screen also eats away power but i always have it on.so if u wana save that switch it off in ur settings.im happy with the connection and the volume of the ringtone,im happy with my mp3s and evrything else on it.the recharger gets to me sumtimes but once u plug it in properly and leave it to recahrge its all ok.this fone looks amazing on the outside i think and its got cool features.iv always prefered nokia but this is a great change.if u wana get this fone dont hesitate :P the e700 was good but this is even better.its a machine so i guess it all really depends on if ur lucky enof to get a good one or one that was messed up in the factory from the very begginin.and that could happen with any fone.so good luck and go out ther get it =p

ok i worked it out, my charger wasnt a dud after all. the LED indicator light gradually gets greener as it charges! now that i got it all figured out and i've got a chance to use the phone.. well i have one word to describe it.. BRILLIANT! for those people who complain that theres a sound problem when you make calls, i think that you just got a bad batch. if u got a bad one, go back and exchange it for another! it's worth the risk buying it if you're one of those ppl that are unsure about it, coz u wont regret it when u get a good one!

Hey everyone i just bought my e720 today and i put it on charge. about an hour later the charger light had changed from red to a yellowy colour. it says in the manual that if its orange its not charging properly. i'm guessing the yellowy colour means orange but i dont know what the problem is. the battery has been inserted properly and it was charging fine before, what could the problem be? plz help thanks in advance :)

I have tried my best to like this phone since I upgraded to it in May. It has great looks and features but as a phone it's poor. Audio quality is hopeless, battery life is poor and ring volume is too low. When you need to ask a customer half a dozen times for their name it must be bad. bring back my Nokia, PLEASE

pretty,compact phone.great video recorder.rubbish voice recorder with pathetic sound volume.bad voice quality during calls,very muffled. to connect to pc/download mp3 the best and easiest option is to get a bluetooth device for your pc and bluetooth everything over that way very simple to set up and managed to get the hardware for 19.99 at pc world to round up...not a bad phone but the call quality could be so much better

Hi all, i got my e720 3 days ago. it came with the Software CD and the USB cable. my problem is that even after installing the software (easy studio 2) and the USB driver from the CD, i am unable to connect the phone to my PC. I have checked all the settings (i.e, connection speed, port) and everything seems to be OK. but on the Easy Studio status bar, it always says 'Nothing' or 'Offline', even if my phone is connected. I am using WindowsXP and it detects the phone when i plug it in to the PC. I will really appreciate if someone could help me with this issue as i have been struggling with this problem for last 2 days. Also if possible, reply me via email. Thanx

I have had my Samsung E720 for just about 3 months now. This is an excellent device, I purchased it off of eBay to use in the United States with T-Mobile. I had no problem changing the language or network. It was a bit complicated to change the browser over to T-zones. I am unable to send video meassages, though. All other features work great. I have a Plantronics Bluetooth headset which works flawlessly. I purchased a bluetooth adapter at Best Buy. The only problem is that exchanging files runs VERY slow, but it still works. All in all, this is the greatest phone I have ever had. It get tons of attention (I am the ONLY ONE that has this phone in my area since it is not released in the States) and the MP camera is awesome. Mine has no sound quality issues. I highly recommend this device.

Have had this phone for about two weeks now, the manual I got is in French so I've had to learn everything myself. Main trouble I had was trying to get files to and from the phone to my computer using bluetooth, but I just want to say to everyone that it can be done! :-) Overall I think this is a really great phone, good photo quality, and the mp3 player is a bonus. A lot of complaints I see on here basically come from the fact that people don't know how to use the phone properly. Keep trying and you'll find that this is a really complete phone :-)

I just received the e720 today, and it's great! The best phone i have had so far! The quality of the images and sound is just unbelieveable. A lot of people have trouble uploading things (including me) but with some research, i found the solution. The problem is usually that you set up the wrong COM port. Solution: Right click on MY COMPUTER and click on properties, then go to device manager and click on MODEMS, you should see something about Samsung, check the properties and it should tell you what COM port its installed in. Then go back to the PIMS program and select that COM port in the setup menu... Voila!

There actually IS a way to "add" a word to your phone's dictionary, although it's not so easy to do. 1. Start typing part of the word you want. 2. Push the "0" button (which changes the word your predictive text is trying to figure out) until you see "Add" on the lower left corner of the screen. 3. Use the select button when you see "add" and then manually enter your word. I tested it out with a fake (flufie) word I made up, and the next time I tried to type this fake word, the predictive text brought it up.

I'm not having problems using the file manager program. I found the Samsung-made usb cable which came with the cd, but I was scared to use it (bought on Ebay) so I uploaded the programs straight from Samsung's site. Anyone who needs help, just email me...I'm not a big techie, but I can hold my own and figure stuff out...kinda. So far I can upload my pics onto the computer, and I have put around 13 mp3's on my phone from my computer. I had to play around with which port the program was trying to read from, but once I found it, it worked like a charm. PS- I LOVE this phone, even if I'm in America and they aren't supporting extra features for it here!

Just following up to my comments below, one other usuability feature is that the signal strength on the outside is acutally for *any* network. I assume this is so you can make emergency calls if your network has no service. The network indicator inside goes 'grey' rather than colour if your network has no service, and the phone says 'limited service'. You get a variable number of grey bars depending on other network signals in the area. When you close the phone, it says 'limited service' as well, but *again* this goes off after a few seconds. So, if you look at your phone with it closed, you may think you have a signal, when you in fact don't. Only opening the phone, will tell you for sure. Why oh why do they not have a way of leaving the external display on!!!! Tabber

hi, ive had this fone 4 24hours now and it is one of the best fones i have ever owned, but needles to say there is one flaw. 1. The camera takes exelent pictures and superb videos but if ur in a slightly dark area it can go slightly but only slightly fuzzy even with flash on. Had one for a few days now, and certainly a great phone. Don't understand this 'call quality rubbish' comment from a lot of people. its absolutely fine. Things I am a bit unsure about are:- 1. The external display only stays on for a few seconds, which means if you have a missed call, you won't know it. You have to open and close the phone, or hold down one of the volume keys on the outside for a few seonds to get the display on again (for a few seconds), and see you had a missed call. 2. You can only set the ring tone/message tone, etc. to either Vibrate, Vibrate then Ring, or Ring. There is no option for 'Vibrate AND Ring". BIG design flaw in my opinion. 3. You don't get a cable with it, which you will need to buy (or a bluetooth dongle), in order to transfer MP3s, videos etc. Manual very unclear on all of this. 4. The text messaging is very poorly designed. There is no 'add to dictionary' option like Nokia have had for years, and the way you have to search for a number in the address book, means it takes almost 10 keypresses to address a text. That's it so far. Still very pleased with it, and I just hope I will learn to live with the above flaws. Tabber.

The samsung e720 is a wicked phone the best i have yet, the features it functions are amazing such as the mp3, 1 megapixel camera, hour of video recording time and also the quality of it too it also has many other cool features but it would to long to go through them all! Ziggy, You need to set the files to be in shared mode on your phone before they appear on your PC's screen. To do that, just go to the folder, eg. Photos, chose 1 photo, select potion, then scroll to bluetooth sharing, and set for all. Return to main and access the files via your standard bluetooth software. -Alan

need help from ya'll. just bought a bluetooth dongle and downloaded samsung PC studio pims and file manager, but the program says "cannot open the port and this program is switched in offline mode". what's wrong with it? how can i fix it? when i go file>setup, there are ports com1 and IrDa to choose, i try to switch, but nothing works. there was a program with my dongle, but with that program i can only upload stuff to my phone, but not from phone to computer. program window shows phone's foolder, but they're empty, and show only those files that have been uploaded from pc recently, but not those who have been in phone (like taken photos etc). i hope you can help me.

OK THIS IS HOW YOU GET MP3's ON YOUR PHONE!: 1)Buy a Bluetooth dongle 2)Install the software with the dongle 3)Turn Bluetooth on(menu->settings->bluetooth->activation) 4)establish a lnk between your phone and the dongle (this will be explained in the dongle instructions) 5)Find the phone's 'music' folder using the dongle software 6)copy your mp3's from your computer into the 'music' folder 7) You often have to say 'yes' to requests to transfer data on your phone Hope this helps!

I owned that phone about a week ago. It looks good, mp3 player sound quality (with headphones) good, movies good (photo quality average). Phone really pretty, has much features, nice interface, but... The only thing that confuse is sound quality... When you call to someone, it looks like you moved few century's back - the sound quality is really bad. It's easy , i use a bluetooth dongle, just make sure the files you wish to send to your computer are SHARED, a.k.a click and go to Share for bluetooth. Then just pair the phone and the computer, like you would with a normal phone . (by entering THE same code, when asked by each device)

to renz, On the contary, people want the phone to vibrate and ring at the same time is because not everyone works or are in quite places, and work do demand us to be at place which is not too noisy and also not quite... sort of in between and the phone just ringing (especially MP3) might be heard or it might not be heard. Thus the Vibration let us know it is ringing and awareness of the ear to pick up the specific ring tone to answer or let be. And for us business people... missing calls is a no no. And answering wrong calls is also a no no. I'm sure you get what I am trying to tell you right? At least Samsung could have let an option in the phone for the user to choose, like Nokia (which I have long migrated away from btw so as not to be labeled "fanboy") And yes... I think its a great phone. i do agree that the sound on calls can be a bit dodgy on times but overall its not too bad. I only found out recently that you can have video clips as your main background, how many other phones offer that i wonder. the pictures are of a high quality also. the media player is cool but it can be a little quiet at times. the positive points far outweigh the negative though! x

to allan, I do not think that paul is being insinsitive to riz or whatever it is just he answered the question asked and i believe and considered that vibrating and ringing at the same time is a shortcoming for a phone and samsung corrected that. What is the use of vibrating and ringing at the same time when u cannot feel the vibration neither u cannot hear the ringing. It is just a waste of effort and power for the phone. I also believe that the said function is just a display of pride having a great phone by making everybody to hear ur phone is ringing and it is unnecessary to have that kind of function. I do not know what the engineers was thinking when they made the phone ring and vibrate at the same time.

to Paul, I think you respond to riz is very insensitive and narrow minded. Not everyone is like you who have fantastic hearing or whatever not. There are many people out there who wants the phone to vibrate and ring at the same time. So please, be more sensitive to people and not make such comments at other's needs. Also we know that there are customized mmf that can have vibration codes embedded... but we want to use MP3s as ring tones. And also MP3 ring tones in general are always softer then standard polyphonic or monotone ring tones. So more reasons to have the phone ring and vibrate at the same time. -Alan

As we all know if u want to vibrate ur phone, it means u cant hear it ringing or u dont want it to ring and for that reason samsung has a logic reason for that. It then can save battery power for samsung vibrate the phone 3x and then it starts ringing. Why some people want thier phone to vibrate and ring at the same time besides doing so is very ubnormal for a phone. Anyway, basically samsung wants thier phone to be effective and efficient by saving much battery power and that is the reason why they do not make thier phones to vibrate and ring at the same time. In addition u can always download ringtones with vibration and rythmic lights at the same time. So long.

To Katie, Well... I'm also interested in the Z500 for the vibrate and ring at the same time feature as well as the memory card expansion... However I'm kinda reserve about it because, frankly the photo capture in the Z500 is really a let down as well as the video recording. The E720's camera does a better job at recording and also taking photos. Z500 as I know it, records in QCIF resolution (177x144) and in 3GP format as oppose to E720's CIF resolution (352x288) and in MP4 format. The lacking of a flash is also puzzling on Samsung's part. The flash for the E720 is kind of effective and powerful for a camera phone. That's my take on the Z500 compared to E720. Never played with the D500 so I can't say anything except I know the D500's camera for photo is very good, but it ain't a clamshell. If Samsung's new firmware does address the camera image issue and also allow saving into MP4 format, I would go for the Z500 then. Until then... I'll skip and stick with my E720C. -Alan

Guys and Gals, Please help. My E720C now causing me trouble. The phone keeps reset itseft due to unknown faulty and its getting worse. I can not make a phone call some time.. it reset the phone during the conversation. I can not display the SMS inbox or even the images files. The ideal resolution is 176x144 pixels. I use Samsung PC Studio II to download music and pics - works perfect. Read HELP, people. Hint: There are 2 USB Drivers to install: Mobile USB and CDMA USB driver. Then connect your e720 to PC, start PIMS & File manager, go File>Setup and try different Ports (COM1, COM2...) Ya'll get connected. No sound problem with my phone. The firmware - E720XXEC5. I know there is E720XXEC9 avail ;)

I am pleased to tell you all that are interested that the Samsung e720 has finally been released in Optus stores in Australia, and im also very excited to be getting mine on Tuesday today is wednesday so only 6days to go YAY!! i have been waiting so long for this phone it's not funny and to be reading on what all have wrote about it and i've been so jealous of all of you been able to play with it and all sorts, i know a few of you will be thinking don't b stupid on getting due to so many glitches with it but i love the look of this phone and the features from what ive seen look great, so i'll take my chances with it as many of you have and i'll let you know how i i go with the sound n all that!!

I'm sorry guys to tell you this but I have a samsung E700 for an yer and I think the design is much nicer than the E720...I want a smarter phone and I'm defenetly going on the samsung d500 model, it has a more serious and nicer design than the E720...as hard as they might have tried the E720's design is not like E700 so the d500 is the best option...sorry guys...

Yes you can have a video, providing the clip is short enough, you can definately have animations though as they are small in size. The phone just looks and feels very expensive, however could someone help me?. I downloaded an MPEG file, and i cant delete it, i get failed. Any ideas?

Gill, I think your problem is with your laptop. The phone saves video in 3gp or Mp4 format depending on your settings. I am guessing your PC is running windows. If this is so, you will find that it does not recognise these formats. The easy way round the problem is to download the free version of 'Quick Time Player' This will play both formats without any trouble. Hope this helps.

I've had this phone for a couple of months now and have had no problems, i really needed a phone that woule take decent videos and photos as i attend a lot of gigs and so want some good reminders of the night. A few days ago i sent all my videos on my phone to my laptop through bluetooth, everything appeared to be fine until i attempted to play the video and it said that it was a data file and would not play, is there any way that i can change the file type on my phone or does it lie with the computer needing altered? Motorola V635 is a better buy becuase it has memory expand, plus it looks solid with ot metal covers!! Samsung E700 has tonns of problams and E 720 will be the same !! E700 displays start flickers after using some time and also it gets dots!! Samsung E700 was the most ugliest phone I ever had Only the design is very good, Motorola V600 was the best durable clamshell I ever owned! My very old Motorola T 720! phone still work but not my Samsung E700! It was a junk

I bought this phone from a catalogue and I'm glad I did as I could return it back. I found it was a good phone but failed on a fw points. Its true about the ear piece, you can hardly hear people and when you talking to them you have to make sure your mouth is right next to the mic. The texting part is awful, you cant have the phone setup for predicting text. The camera is a good feature though and the music player is great but I think that is what the phone was made for. If it wasnt for the phone calls and the texting I would of kept the phone. Its just a shame that Samsung passed all the parts that they intended for the phone except that they failed on the part that its supposed to be a phone and texting. But I will suggest one more, make sure the next phone has some sort of memory expansion if ya going to let people have MP3's on it.

in response to people who are trying to download mp3 songs onto their moblie phone. i bought a dongle that connects into a usb port for �11 off the internet.when you set it up you can download most songs from your music files.you just click onto the bluetooth soleil.thats software that is loaded onto the computer when you put the disc that comes with the dongle into your computer.you then drag the song you require into the file soleil and it then loads it into your phone.it is easy to do once you have the disc loaded and your bluetooth switched on your phone.

Just purchased this wicked little phone, Features are REALLY REALLY good. I was a bit unsure of it when i read other peoples review of the ear piece speaker. Everyone on here said it was awful. I have noticed the sound quality is not perfect, it is a bit distorted & husky (unless im imagining most of it after reading the reviews) .But hey i can hear people they can hear me, and thats all i need. Great features, Looks are tops, overall really good phone and im so happy i chose this one.

Nige, No not guessing samsung had faulty batches so if yours is faulty just get it replaced and hopefully you'll have better luck with that one, it really is a fabby phone once you'll get one that works.

This is a fabby phone it did have some sound quality issues but this was due to a small number of faulty batches if yours has sound quality issues your service provider will simply replace it, easy as that.

To Jim Bob. Yes you can listen to the music without headphone..through earpiece. Play the music and adjust the volume keys. But the sound will not be as good as headphone.

I put the phone in "quiet mode" and it is set on "mute" (i.e. no vibration). It remains quiet when I receive a call or a message, but when it is in mute, quiet mode the phone still vibrates on a low battery warning! Any idea how I can stop this?

For Nige. Thank you very much for your help. I finally able to access to photos folders and deleted them all per your instruction. Beside this bug. This phone is great. the sound is very clear. Photos and videos are perfect. The only problem I got is the terrible software. I also have MPX-220, the software is a Microsoft friendly user but just like Bill Gate..alot of bugs that some time hang the phone for no reason. Every one..Do not buy MPx-220. The phone turn off by itseft with an average once a week.

To Tung Nguyen. I also had this problem when i tried to upload photos from the PC using Samsung's software. Try this. Take about three or four photos using the phones own camera in the normal way. You should be able to see the photos when you go to the photos folder. DONT select the first one!, select the third or fourth one. then press options. Select delete all. This should cure the trouble I don't use Samsung's software anymore. I use the software that came with my Bluetooth dongle

heres a tip for all the people who want to buy the phone, make sure the company you get it from can refund or exchange the phone if its the 'crap sound quality' one. because its not worth keeping the crap sound quality. you want to buy soemthing you are satisfied with, i got hyped up about this phone as much as you all did. just made me more dissappointed in the phone i suppose. just make sure you can exchange the phone or something. its a risk!

I having problem with the phone..I uploaded pictures from computer to photos folder (supposed to be download contents). Since then.I can not view pictures in photos folder any more. I've just received my E720 and I love it! People - the sound is terrific. It was so loud and clear I had to reduce it to the minimum. If you have any problms than it might be the network or you just got lucky getting a bad phone (which shouldn't be really the case). It looks like the battery life is way shorter than I am used to have with Motorola T720i and I didn't even start using camera and MP3 player. Well, it's very slim and I discovered it's better that it was for E715. I love the Samsung PC Studio II 2.0 that you can use to create and transfer pics, rings and MP3s to the phone via USB connection (available free from the Samsung web) as well as update your contact list and calendar events. Personally, I think this is a very good phone and, despite all the negative experiences some people have had, it's well worth a shot.

I have an e720 on O2 contract from O2 online and the sound quality on mine was really poor. Took a month to figure out it was my phone that was the problem so it was out of the 28day replacement. Also had problems with no settings saving.. Phoned O2 who said take it to a shop and they will send it to be repaired. Two weeks later got my phone back and not only were none of the problems repaired but Samsung had damaged the phone where they pulled it all apart. Have now sent it back again but O2 said because of the damage 9 times out of 10 Samsung would now do a straight replacement. Have also asked O2 to ask Samsung what they actually did to 'repair' it the first time round seeing as nothing was different about the phone when I got it back apart from all the damage! O2 deny that they are seeing lots of problems with the E720 but while I was in the shop I heard two other people complaining. Also depsite the fact that they normally have over 20 loan phones for use when yours is sent away both times now they have had none left because so many phones are being returned to them.. My opinion - dont get this phone if you actually want to use it to talk to people!

I have had this phone for around a month now on O2, I think that the phone is great, one of the best ive seen around at moment. Screen quality is good, video is exceptional aswell as the looks of the phone. The only real fault I have found with the phone is that it is incapable of ringing and vibrating at the same time, also ringing volume isnt great.

Hi there. Me and my husband both have this phone and neither of us have had any problems whatsoever. However, a friend does have the same phone and I have to say that the sound quality is poorer than we've got. A faulty batch seems the most likely explanation.

honestly, if you use the fone to talk alot, Do Not Get The Phone. if you want it for talking, its a 3/10. impossible to communicate on it. im telling the truth. but if you want it for the features, then its an 8/10 im just ****ed cos i cant download games to it cos it says the file is too large, and the file is only 53kb in size. argh anyone know any other way to download games onto the phone using GPRS?

I am now on my third replacement of this mobile from O2 who deny any knowledge of fault in the sound quality. All they want to do is send me yet another. Today I asked them to ring Samsung to find out for me, who also deny any problems with the phone sound quality. Unbelieving I telephoned Samsung myself they say they have not heard of any problems. Such a shame look shape and user friendly phone - such a shame you cannot have a conversation on it!

where to start.. the speaker quality is alrite, u can hear good, but the thing is, the person you are calling cant here you properly, especially wen u're using a handsfree, its almost impossible to figure out wat you're saying.. i find that the worst quality of this fone i was impressed by the video camera, its the best i've seen, but it takes up alot of space wen on maximum quality. wen in the viewfinder mode (to take photo's) it seems very laggy, but wen u take the shot its clear.. its weird because its not laggy wen you switch over to video mode im a fan of the e700 series, this one has the looks, but is a tad bigger than the e700 in size, im not sure about the screen losing its contrast, i do not trust it to have improved on this fone either, just be careful wen opening n closing the fone. the way i copied music onto the phone, was have another phone with music + bluetooth(eg nokia 6230) and copy the songs thru bluetooth, takes about 2 minutes to copy a song. umm any other questions, u can email me. out of 10, honestly.. i give it about a 8 though im looking forward to the SE k750i

i want to but this phone but i have one question.if you know there were some problems with the other models like E700 and E710,in time the contrast of the display was very poor and after a long time the contrast was lost and you could only saw a white LCD(i refer to the main LCD).If anybody can tell me if E720 has the some problem or it's better in this way.Thank you!

I upgraded from se k700i to samsung E720 but was a little worried about how the sound quality would be after reading others reviews. When it arrived sure enough the sound quality was not good,fuzzy,crackly, so have sent it back. K700i has been great so plan to upgrade to Se k750i instead. Really wasnt impressed with the phone in general.

Hi all, A little update for you all. Used the phone the whole day today without issues. Bought myself a Jabra FS258 (called BT250 out of Asia), it paired without problems. I can use both Headset profile mode as well as Handsfree profile mode. The person on the receiving size could not tell if I was using a headset or not :-) While driving (and my car is pretty loud), the people I talked too did not noticed I was even driving... now I'm impressed (this is probably due to the headset's feature and also combined with the handset's voice clarity thingy being on... I think) No sound issues, infact I would say the sound is very clear and sharp. Guess the unbranded ones are safe from the sound issues. My gripe, as mentioned earlier... no ringing with vibration when using MP3... argh... well.. at least it is kind of solved when I have my headset on as it gives a few consistent beeps when I receive a call. Well.. that's all for now... man I love my phone :-D (not as much as my girl though :-P) -Alan

And I'm loving it :-D Didn't play much with it, as I just wanted to drain the "factory charge". But from what I have played with so far... quite happy... except some minor gripe. 1. To use groups have to copy contacts to phone memory... something I never liked but oh well. 2. Cannot assign specific SMS tone to groups. 3. Does not vibrate and ring at the same time unless customized MMF (why use MMF when can use MP3.. but forced to use to get vib and ring) 4. converted MP3 to MMF using ATS-MA5-SMAF does not play on the phone. That are the four gripe I have. Others... very happy and also the camera... better then expected, way better then my crappy Innostream A10's 1.3 MegaCrapPixel camera. Video recording is fantastic. And on the note of sound... very clear, no distortion or muffled sound what so ever. I believe the sound issue is due to network operator's customization of the firmware. Mine is default samsung non-branded (ok... Samsung brand if you want :-D) Will post photos taken with it later... when I finish my full 8 hours charge. -Alan

Good phone, I agree with the comment on the external screen not being more informative. I finally managed to setup my email and it's flawless. The biggest grip I have with it is ergonomy: the keys are hard to feel, too hard to press and the navigation key inconsistent in its use as well as doesn't allow keydown = contacts. This I don't understand as it used to be on my old 105. I am looking for ways to customize the phone's OS, anyone knows how to hack into it?

The phone is great. I have no sound quality problem. Maybe i'm one of the few who received a flawless unit. I like the design, its too elegant. But there are some thing that disappoint me with e720, it has no infrared, there is no memory slot (you need it if you want to download more mp3) and the ringtone you only use the preset one. Although you can set mp3 as ringtones.

just to clear up everything about the sound quality, the sound on some of the models is bad and on other models it is good, but more people have recieved the model with bad sound quality, so you would be a bit lucky if you got this phone and had good sound.

Firstly we develop on mobile phones so we have lots of handsets around our office, and I'm not a fan of any particular make so have no axe to grind. We got an E720 so we could check our application compatiblity, and since I use an E700 personally, I thought I'd check it out as a replacement. Nice phone but 2 flaws: 1) Orange's really annoying start menu jobbie. I need to find a way to remove that, Our unbranded D500 seems much nicer interface wise. 2) Sound quality. It's not right. At the lowest volume you get distortion, and sound is muffled (as other people have said). This is inexcusable for a phone and I'm shocked they've got away with releasing it, even if only certain batches were flawed. It's the worst sound of ALL of our handsets, including the old nokia and sony phones. Yes you could live with it, but why should you have a hi-tech phone with sound from an 80's motorola brick! Decent phone other than this, but (2) is a fatal flaw and I wouldn't recommend the phone to anyone until they sort the sound quality out.

I had this phone upgraded on Orange,UK. Its a brilliant phone, everythings a joy to behold but theres one flaw in the phone. Sound quality when making and receiving calls is very bad.I rang Orange and someone told me that their all like that and had had no end of phones returned to them. I returned mine. Guess Ill wait for the E730. It looks brilliant and hopefully Samsung will sort out the phone fault.

Hi, This is a fantastic phone don't get me wrong, it blows the D500 out of the water. But for me, the external mp3 buttons (which are a great idea) are sadly redundent due to the rubbish headphones that come with the phone! the heavy volume control which hangs from the left earpiece pulls it out of my ear! very frustrating, does any one know where I can obtain better earphones? please send me a link. ps downloading tunes from your comp to phone is easy - just buy a dongle from ebay for about a tenner or a USB lead which is quicker, although I don't see the point of downloading tunes (otherthan for ringtones) cause you can't use the phone as a walkman because of those stoooopid ear phones.

Hi, I am thinking of sending the phone back and getting the new Sony Ericson, As not compatible with Vfone live and I cant download tracks. Can anyone help with the downloads. The camera is not all that great and no loud speaker.

Use a bluetooth dongle/usb cable (with USB driver from the samsung website) then just transfer mp3's /aac's / jpeg's / gif's etc...

Hey i've just bought the E720 and i LOVE it is such a good phone i can't praise it enough Well Done SAMSUNG. However i got a few problems and i was wondering if anyone could help me. the first thing is that how do you get mp3's on to the phone for the mp3 player and the second issue is can u get pictures of your computer and transfer them onto the E720. Bought mine through an O2 shop. Hadn't read any reviews before buying - I just thought it looked great ! When I actually got it home and tried it, the sound quality was terrible. I then found this was a common complaint. The people you call basically complain that it sounds like you're talking through cotton wool. The 'S' sound in particular is muffled and this makes speech very hard to understand. Seriously unimpressed. If a phone can't carry voice properly, what is is good for ? I took the phone back and swapped it for a Motorola V635. Delighted !

Just bought the phone. I must say it�s an incredible piece of craftsmanship from Samsung. Great design, great features, excellent display and superb video. Regarding the sound issue that I�ve seen people complaining about here, I must say it seems I was lucky because it sounds even better than the D500 (with Voice Clarity ON). The sound is crisp and clear during the calls and I couldn�t get any distortion from the MP3 player even at the highest volume level. I�ve also had the Motorola RAZR, and THAT was a phone I can say it had sound problems. Anyway, with no cons other than lack of speakerphone, I can say this phone is a great deal and I totally recommend it.

Hi, Ive had my fone a couple of weeks now and i think its great. I have recently bought a bluetooth dongle to try and upload mp3 files but when i try and connect the Dial up networking (DUN) i keep getting an error that says i need the correct dial-up number for your Internet Service Provider (ISP). I'm posting again due to several people asking about the sound issue and whether it really is a problem. One person even implied people were making it up, as if we enjoy wasting time posting pointless rubbish! I've just received my replacement phone and it's the same as the first one. I still have no idea whether they're all the same, or whether there's good and bad batches, as both Samsung and O2 refuse to acknowledge the problem, even when presented with the evidence of numerous reviews / forum threads. On the plus side, I've had my phone for a week, and I have kind of got used to the rather weird call sound, and to be honest it's not been so bad that I dislike making calls. I read somewhere that this phone has the Samsung noise filtering technology, on all the time. This makes sense, as the sound during calls sounds like the voices are in a cardboard box, yet there's no background noise. I think they implemented the feature but it's not quite right, but they wanted to get the phone out for sales timing reasons. The slight edge of distortion (even at lowest volume) is inexcusable though; this is supposed to be a state-of-the-art phone! To summarise, I'm likely to keep the phone, but to anyone concerned, yes, the problem is genuine so make sure you have the option of an easy replacement or exchange. As for Samsung and O2 - mixed feelings - I can't help but love the phone overall (crazy isn't it?), and O2 is better than it used to be - but both should also hang their heads in shame for their blatant lying when discussing the problem. I've had the samsung e720 for about 3 weeks now and love it, the sound quality is excellent and the text features are all working perfectly for me. There are two space keys so if you're used to a nokia you can still use the 0 key or otherwise yu can use the # key. the only thing i'm not sure about is how to put music on using easy studio 2, i didn't get a cable or bluetooth dongle with the handset so if anyone knows could you pleasse post on here or email. thanx :)

On the one hand I do love the phone, the video quality and sound quality is quite good, but I'm pretty sure there's better. The flash does nothing to help take pictures and just wastes the battery and the menu takes getting used to when you've had the A800 for 2 years. �30 a month, don't think it was worth it... TO SAM I had the same problem as you with video capture, that's because in the settings its set to be as long as a video that can be sent. When you have changed the camera to video, go to options, scroll down to settings and the first option is RECORDING MODE, select it with the centre button and change it to Normal instead of limit for message :) Does anyone know how to get mp3's without bluetooth or the easystudio thingy? I have now had me e720 for 3 weeks and i love it to bits. i got a bluetooth dongle 2 download songs and i cant stop playing it. the battery has lasted me bout 3-4 days wiv lots of use. i have no problem wiv the sound quality - only wen its set on the loudest and the person on the other end is shouting anyway. my fone is set 2 t9 so i dont undersatnd y they all arent. i agree that the space key is in the wrong place but get used 2 it... its a small price 2 pay 4 such a gr8 gadget. i had the motoV3 and loved that 2 but it had no video so needed a different 1. after firstly goin 4 design - i am a bird - i looked at wot it does and believe me i certainly chose the best fone wiv this. dont hesitate in getting it if u like the look of it as well as the gadgets. at the end of the day everybody is looking 4 different things so there will never b a fone that suits every single person out there. happy playing..... lme

Kiran, Samsung do not provide data cables with the handsets. You need to purchase a data cable and download EasyStudio from Or you can purchase a bluetooth dongle and communicate via wireless signals.

how can you send videos via bluetooth to other phones? mine records in mp4 which is the best quality, but most other phones record with 3gp, i canny seem to send them and them workin on there fones, it works on mine thou :) but not mp4 on theres? ne1 know??

the video quality on this phone is fantastic, you have to see it yourself - it also picks up the sound really well. Only minor drawbacks are the small screen and no memory expansion

i just bought the samsung e720 and it's an ok phone. But it doesnt allow me to sms. The other problem i have is that the headset that i recived with the phone has ood length wires so one speaker is way lower than the other. Is this just the desgin or is there acutly something wrong with it. And how are you ment put MP3's on the phone if you dont have any wires to connect to the computer or a disk to download the information. Can someone please help me thanxs

I just got a free E720 from O2. I think it is great! However, there are a few downsides: * T9 (predictive text) cannot be set to default * Front display picture hides itself after a few seconds - on the adverts it looks like it stays on all the time! * It is built for left handed people! - the space key is the # key which is too close to the thumb and you end up having to text with 2 hands! * The WAP is slower than my old Nokia 3200! - but it does look very cool! * The phone doesn't come with a data cable - however, I'm going to get a dongle! * You can't review a picture in full screen Just for the record, my sound is perfect! Maybe mine is from a good batch - My serial number starts R1UY All in all a fantastic phone - especially when it was free!

The ongoing sound on call saga, part 3. Having been in touch with Orange over the last three weeks, their technical department told me the handset was "faulty". The handset was replaced the next day. Imagine my excitement as i made the first call, and subsequent disappointment as i found the sound to be no better than the first! To be fair, this handset is slightly better than the first, but not by much. For a state of the art tri band phone i would still call the sound quality poor. My five year old Nokia is just as good. My wife has a new Samsung E330, and it has Samsung's "Voice Clarity" feature. The on call sound with that phone is excellent!, and it has a good built in speaker phone too! Not only that, but the E330 plays back voice memos through the speaker phone, you have to hold the E720 to your ear!! There are other features the E330 has too, but are not on the E720. What's going on?, the 720 is supposed to be a much higher specification phone! TO Phil Yes, it looks like you need to change your settings. The phone comes out of the box set to record the maximum you can send via MMS messaging, hence the message you described. This is how to change it. Get the phone into video mode (so it's ready to shoot video) then press the left soft key. This takes you to Options. Select Settings. You should then see a set of settings you can adjust. The first one is called ' Recording Mode'. On your phone it will most likely say "Limit for message" at the moment. Simply change this to "Normal" using the left or right side of the 4 way rocker key. You will also notice that you can change quality settings in there too. When done select "Save" using the left soft key again. Note that if you go back to "Limit for message" again, it resets the quality setting back to "Economy", most annoying! I can't find a way round this yet. Hope this helps.

i forgot 1 thing i had the samsung x600 before my e700 and that was bad it switched itself of and had poor sound qulity. im on contract so hopfully if there is any faults they will get fixed

To Steph, Great phone aside from one rather important issue; poor sound during calls! I'm waiting for a replacement but there seem to be a lot of faulty ones out there, maybe they're all like it in fact, as I've yet to see anyone saying that they got a second one and it was OK. Although, some people seem to think the sound is fine which implies there could be faulty batches. I love the design so I hope my next one is OK. Samsung's advert for the phone says "It would be a shame if you only used it for talking" - they got that part right! For more info just read the threads, and visit this site also: Even the official review there mentions the problem! Tom ps both O2 and Samsung are flatly denying there's any problem at all, even though I showed them all the user comments. That's customer care, 2005-style. :-(

i have the previous version of this phone, the samsung e715, its prettu much the same thing, but it doesnt have mp3 player, bluetooth or video capture... reading the problems that the phone has had playing mp3's really dissapoints me... specially comming from a $500 phone... makes me think twice about buying it... please let me know if the sound problems can be corrected... definately I had the same sound problem like the person lower down in this thread, with the e720 had lousy sound quality both ways, I got 2 from Orange both phones were bad, and then I sent them each back and got one from O2 and that was also bad sound quality, leave them alone. Anyone who says they are clear sound has never owned a clear sounding phone Believe man!!

The phone is great, no complaints........except one thing! This phone is supposed to record for 60 mins yeah? well I cant get longer than 13-17 seconds, then it stops and says "message file size limit" any ideas how I can sort this out? i have the e720 for a week an i think that it's a great phone, the battery life it's short but i f u want it u got 2 get use 2 it.I had 3 e700 and one e710 and i think that the e720 is the worlds most elegant phone and the display is amazing and it has a lot of multimedia features.To transfer stuff or to download it to your computer u got 2 get the bluetooth because it works perfectly.The 90 mb is not enougth if u have a phone with a mp3 player but compared 2 other phones it will satisfy you're apetite for tracks,videos and photoes. if u want more details contact me on my email adress(im a samsung fan and i had a lot of samsung phones and i know a lot about samsung phones)

I got this E720, great phone. Not perfect sound with them mp3-ringtones but then again this is pretty new. Good quality on the video and camera if the light is good. I was now wondering what kind of settings you should be downloading to get this one to work with mms and gprs, i have searched for settings for E720 but haven't found it anywhere, can someone plz tell me what settings that work with this one if you have gotten it to function. I'm the latest person to get an E720 with a sound quality problem on calls. Most beautiful phone I've ever seen, but unfortunately flawed. Waiting for replacement from O2 and hoping that I get one that's OK (assuming they're not all the same). I've sent a long e-mail to Samsung UK customer services, asking why their own call centre, and O2, are seemingly unaware of the problem, despite it being all over the internet on forums and even official website reviews. Crazy. Also very inconvenient as I always have to collect the phone from the courier's office, as working at time of delivery. Sound problems during calls as described by others, muffled / unclear yet sometimes too loud, with an edge of distortion. It's two way, ie outgoing and incoming voice.

I just got an E720 on Saturday 4th June and I think it is a cool phone. I have stuck with Nokia in the past but decided to try something different. The only thing I dislike about this phone so far is the wallpaper settings. I would like to be able to have no wallpaper at all but there is not an option for this!

after weighing up all options of a new phone there is no comparison to that of the E720 based on the original E700 how can it not be successful. 1 mega-pixel camera, MP3 player, bluetooth nd video cature/playback the E720 is the ultimate in style and compact for a phone of this size and can only be beaten by the release of latest 3G mobile. im proud to own one!

i bought this phone and am rather happy with it. not only does it have bluetooth but also MP3 player and flash camera. i also bought the data link cable (USB) as i read that i need the cable to download files eg. MP3s and pics to my phone. but my prob is that i cant. download the PIM and file manager that came in the CD with the cable and the USB driver. but nothin works. tried restarting the comp too could get conenction but file manager and the melody to phone and image to phone function are in grey. any idea how i can download MP3 to my phone?
