Samsung Galaxy Fold - User Reviews

  • same size as mate 20 x with similar display specs costing over 4 times less

  • 2400$$. What a cheap, wow... 😃😃😃😃ð;Ÿ˜ƒðŸ˜ƒ

  • You'd have to carry a bag around to take your iPad around, though. The Fold can fold to fit in your pocket

  • Never mind the notch, that crease....ughhhhh.

  • I know I'd be waiting 6 months till the issues start showing, folding Glass don't seem right. Oops dropped it new screen $1000

  • At that weight I'll just carry my iPad around lol

  • The New Samsung Galaxy Fold Just Got Released In Australia $3000 AUD What A F***kin🤬RIP OFF 💩💩💩 Not Worth The Price Just For A Phone More Expensive Than the iPhone 📱11 Pro Max For $3000 You Can Buy A Nice Big 4K Ultra HD Smart TV Or A Laptop or Desktop With High End Specifications

  • Amazing phone before buying I even thought about the screen and faults but trust me this phone is in different level every one asking me about the phone who looks at it I am happy and satisfied the price they offer .

  • If I could afford $2365 for that phone, $50 doesn't mean a lot. The people who buy Bugatti, they don't care that is $1000 cheaper or not. Same thing.

  • Samsung Galaxy Fold New Video Uploaded

  • this one vs note 10?

  • Buahahahahaaa in Poland is CHEEEAPER, costs 9000 PLZ, means about 2305 bucks!

  • Give us an example of the changes you would make

  • Wait for 2020 samsung flagship.

  • Unless you want the Google Apps.

  • i am a big samsung fan but this time i am very much disappointed about the specifications and performance of galaxy fold. it needs a lot of changes.

  • Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G

  • This is a bad idea really. Look at the centre of the screen when it unfolds. It shows whirls and i don't wanna see any whirls on my screen. Nokia did it right with its communicators but this thing is off the wall. Bound to fail.....

  • No 3.5mm jack for a $2,000 disposable premium phone???? luuulll

  • Why the battery charging 15W only? Worst than iphone 11.

  • None

  • note10+

  • Should I buy the Galaxy Fold, or the Note 10+?

  • Well i would buy one if i have monmey to spare for such expensive thing. But mate X of course. Samsung fold does not interests me after the fiasco and well known fact it looks exactly like Nokia 9000 comunicator from 2000 era.

  • The next fold mobile will be called as "samsung galaxy note fold"

  • I hope that one day, samsung will manufacture a fold device which uses an S-pen.

  • Mate x is a big phone that became a 8''tablet. Design hasn't grace. Fold is ok and fits in pocket. I just blame the notch on the up right side

  • LOl....WTF is this design.....wait for Huawei Mate X... at least FlexPai is looks good better than this...

  • Who have money...

  • Hope to get one soon ........

  • Really love it ............

  • people would buy anything

  • haha you dont have to open it like a book to check messages, just use the cover display

  • 1. i wouldn't pay more than $800 for this model after such fiasco 2. hope eSIM does not have any future, it would restrict our freedom of switching to another operator, even if temporarily. 3. i love huge displays, hope Fold 2 (or whatever) has a bigger display when folded and unfolded

  • Samsung tab s6 and a note 10 plus. Rounded up the same price if not cheaper.

  • I will too, lets support the foldable revolution! Get the 5G variant

  • Silver

  • Looks interesting. Might get one.

  • I have enough money for one, what color should I choose?

  • I will be launched on 6 SEP 2019 in South Korea. price is 2398000won ( about 1805 euro).

  • May i ask why? what advantage will it bring! I can see more issues with a fold techniqually to break.......

  • Its not practical..i bet dont sell a lot......dont want to read a book to check message! lol.......I'm all for progress but no just no! . Bar style will always be a winner!!!!!!

  • this is too expensive and not also a good looking phone

  • Ughh... To expensive ($1750) Ummm... I'll go for a 3D model (40€)

  • yes

  • Nope

  • What?? is it waterproof?

  • so why?

  • what the hell??? cant believe this actually...please tell me more about this phone who is using this exactly...

  • I want it! But I'm not rich...

  • It looks good but not very attractive. And the price is overrated.

  • Regardless of the naysayers, I'm looking forward to receiving my Fold. I ordered it Saturday and I hope to get my hands on it very soon. I'll update you on real user experience in the next couple of weeks.

  • Folded: 160.9 x 62.9 x 15.5 mm Weight 263 g (9.28 oz) That's ugly. My A8 2018 much better LOL

  • >super high-quality DAC >no headphone jack into the trash it goes

  • You're lying. That doesn't happen to premium Samsung phones

  • This looks super premium.. Wish I could afford one..

  • He??? It's a phone dude. Smh

  • Samsung need to pay attention to the dimensions of the 21:9 Xperia 4. That's what they should be aiming for as the cover screen. The max width of the phone folded should be 65mm, but if they want to keep that trimmer, that's fine too. It's possible to make a large screen on a tall skinny device with minimal footprint that unfolds into a decent-sized mini tablet.

  • Too expensive and not practical (for me, I mean). Still, Samsung is the best phone manufacturer.

  • Galaxy Fold: Am I a joke to you?! Nokia 3310: Yes...

  • my best samsung and fav one is note 4. I still got him with me. I also got note 8 and 9 but i am wainting impatiently the samsung fold when he will be sell in france cause actually he is not yet on the market.

  • note 7 was one of the best phone at that time, i have 1 original note 7 since then, and i am using daily with no issue, but,,,you know...when market comes to attack...goes down any model

  • Nothing is wrong with Samsung... It's just that Apple fan boys pay the news industry money to make the explosions/ failures a big deal.

  • Not really, not Huawei either.

  • Samsung the smartphone on inovation top

  • IMO Samsung makes the best phones on the market, but honestly i wouldn't pay more than $500 for this Galaxy Fold, looks like it's having a lot of issues, so i'll stay with my Note9 for a long time.

  • This is a another Fiasco from Samsung. First the Note 7, now the Fold. WTF is happening with Samsung?!

  • nonononono

  • Samsung: *announces punch hole camera* The Chinese: *decides to do a punch hole camera* Samsung: *announces that they are working on an in-display camera* The Chinese: *decides to do an in-display camera* Ah, but if throwing SD card slot and 3.5mm jack is an innovation than yes they are quite innovative

  • Yes, they do after Chinese companies did

  • Huawei is 'badder' in the game here!

  • which it shouldnt happen

  • i will love too

  • if Samsung will give it to me for free, I would love to.hahahaha

  • R.I.P Galaxy Fold... Hope Samsung can fix the problems with the screen

  • you know why i love Samsung? they innovate innovation!!

  • do you know this phone is made of plastic? and they havn't hought of adding metal frames either? if someone snatches it out of my hand they can twist and crush the whole thing & $2000 down the drain.

  • I think foldable phones are the future. Once again, Samsung is leading the way with everyone else playing catch up.

  • If nobody buys the "first-gen" product, the manufacturer will think the product is a failure and won't make a successor.

  • CEO of Samsung Confirm to recall all Galaxy Fold and Cancel all Pre-Order by 31th May 2019

  • Yes , bring up iphone on everything ....

  • forbes titled that galaxy fold has been cancelled by samsung

  • I am planning to buy a plate for kitchen or Fold for multipurpose any suggestions??

  • Its because they have a contract with Qualcomm

  • its funny how Samsung phones in Europe get Exynos 9820, but only the very expensive Galaxy Fold gets Snapdragon 855, because even Samsung knows that Exynos is not good enough

  • It was designed to meet a technological challenge, rather than consumers needs, it is more of a concept than a practicality, no doubt about its failure.

  • What an ugly thing, ewe!

  • Why is there a review on GSMarena since Samsung recalled all review units? Did GSMarena ignore Samsungs recall?

  • Even my S8 works really good, and I have bought it in late 2017. Only one or two times it was lagging a bit.

  • You can carry it in a bag and how comfortable will be the Fold in your pocket ? Lol.

  • You can't carry the Surface Pro in your pocket

  • Samsung: We have the first Foldable phone Nokia 9210i communicator: Am I a joke to you?

  • You obviously just blindly hate samsung. As none of the galaxy s10s have these problems. You don't own an s10 so stop trying spread lies.

  • Iphones are also missing those features...

  • They should use that blue color for the Note10.

  • You could use 2 or 3 360 view for this one 1not folded another one open

  • Umm my s 10 is perfectly fine and I have no issues I even let my 8 year old play with it and it's still brand new

  • Are these kind of devices actually needed ? You could buy a high end Surface Pro for the same price with a full blown Windows for productivity on the go.

  • Never buy first generation tech ...Second generation Samsung Galaxy fold will be top ... but too expensive! ...

  • I absolutely agree with you.

  • I agree

  • nice idea. to bring a hinge system on the most abused piece of technology you own

  • Brilliant device. Samsung slowly changing the world with great innovation.

  • For $2000, it's missing..... -3.5mm headphone jack -Micro SD slot So AFAIC, this is a massive fail, especially the plastic screen that seems to fail.

  • Ewe! Ugly! Yuck!

  • You don’t want to pay $1980 for a phone that screen looks like it’s got a “screen protector that looks like it needs to be removed” clearly it’s cheap garbage!

  • Another expensive sh*t from Samsung, nothing more.

  • i have learned in years of buying phones, if it is not snapdragon cpu dont touch it...

  • Sooner than expected. Apple always innovating.

  • Don't worry guys the iPhone 6 plus was the first folding phone, people always copy APPLE. And after copious amounts of research and development the second generation Apple folding phone is due for release in 2025. CAN. NOT. WAIT!

  • No surprise there. Horrible as expected. My Samsung S10+ is already very slow and lagging. The battery dies in just 3 hours of use and the screen is flickering when switching apps or waking up. The colors are horrible now, no matter how I set it and the display fingerp

  • Of course, the Nokia e90 is better value for money than this.

  • I think they have it already, they are researching on improving the screen durability to be better than the rest as usual.

  • cool..that what u call innovative... samsung

  • To all samsung haters and huawei fans this is for you

  • is 2250

  • They didn't read the instructions

  • Now, I understand why I've choosen to keep my Nokia E90😂

  • they explained that it was because of removing some part of the screen which they thought was a regular screen protectror

  • Samsung are failing with the screen, a similar issue for the Mate X is expected, knowing Huawei.

  • Have you seen the news? Sam'sdung galaxy fold fragile screen breaks!

  • seems like the folding screen requires the protective screen layers to work properly, a lot of people rip it off thinking it is just some useless film without reading instructions, Samsung has made official statement saying the will put more warnings to not peel off the protective screen layer. In other words, people dont read instructions and peel off part of the display using force.

  • Apple is due for release in 2025

  • this display easy breaks, many youtube reviewers have problem now it seems.... this phone i think samsung rushed out :/

  • can't wait for mine to be delivered. After nearly a decade, finally a reason to upgrade. Cell phones have been stagnating for all this time.

  • Its an absolute waste of money, time and energy as expected. Its better to go with the well researched Huawei Mate X or better still still wait for Apple's model (which they currently are researching how to make it better in low temperature conditions) Samsung is yesterday.

  • Yep.

  • Galaxy Fold review units are BREAKING AFTER TWO DAYS AHAHHHAHAHA I told you guys and you never believed me: folding phones are a total gimmick, just keep improving battery efficiency for crying out loud

  • - history repeats itself manufacturers floods the market with huge selections and little difference this and that, make the user feels incompletw to just buy one piece, then, the manufacturers just collecting statiatic fir the next release - holding back if one can make foldable sceeen, why not making the acreen rollable, with the same or slightly large folding diameter to roll and using alluminum frame for flexibility and covered with carbon fiber for durability??? and must put everything in, the legacy 3.5mm audio connector, dedicated memory card, dual sim dual standby, radio, infra red for legacy remote control, wireless charging, hdmi connector, put everything in classic market trial story ...

  • yeah me to

  • i could never use this as my main phone, it is powerful as heck though i'll give it that

  • This shouldn't be sold to consumers. It's awful, overpriced and has more flaws than advantages. Don't you dare defend it just because it folds

  • Poor! Looks awkward in hand!

  • Folded: 160.9 x 62.9 x 15.5 mm, 263g? Ha-ha!!! I hope we get a backpack for free. Produced for China market with this extreme immobility size. This size and weight put this phone to the tablet market. It is 1,55cm thick when it closed!!!! This size is two phone put together. I do not think, this is the way of the phones evolution.

  • Ok, are we sure that galaxy fold measurement height are correct?

  • It’s because there isn’t space to add those things and it’s an experimental device

  • Overpriced entry level tech ... no thanks

  • Ugly ewe!

  • Because of the ratio, 18.9 and more are way taller but less large Size of the screen is calculated from one corner to the opposite one, a square screen can have the same diagonal as a rectangle one, but the square will of course be shorter, and wider

  • Who cares for usa? they are the ones that banned huawei So this means that they don't want their products but luckily huawei is sold in europ So we have access to a better phone

  • Wickedly Elite, no doubt. But you'd have to be more than fairly convinced considering it's $1,980.00 (Base Model).

  • This 7.3 inch, the height are only 160.9mm??? Wow... That's far much lower than a Lenovo phab 2. And I don't think will be a little thin when is folded...

  • Why foldable small tablet with phone call height are lower than 165mm??? Samsung are slightly longer than 4:3. So far 4:3 ratio 7 or 7.9 inch tablets the minimum height are 180mm. Why this folding Huawei and Samsung tablet phone height are soo much lower than used classic 6.4 inch phone???

  • Is 4.2:3 ratio are similar to 3:2 or still a 4:3 format?

  • I know, right?

  • Samsung is forgetting what separates them from the rest. Memory card slot, 3.5mm jack, and AVAILABLE colors! The preorder is SILVER only. The memory card is GREAT for music and pictures. SAMSUNG, when i get a new one of your phones EVERY year, I don't want to transfer hundreds of gigabytes of micro sd card stuff. Be Better!

  • everybody keeps screaming wait till the price comes down...when did a new apple flagship phone come down in price from previous models....im waiting. People are so fake...lol

  • funny comment but pre order list is full cause no one is gonna buy this phone

  • spigen has a case for fold

  • nokia phone was nothing like fold

  • Everyone is talking about mate x that wont be sold in the USA

  • I'll wait for the next Samsung galaxy fold to work out this ones problems

  • i agree

  • Only in your dreams

  • Exactly

  • Same length as a 4.85" 16:9/4.9" 15:9, same width as a 3.5" 16:9 or 3.7" 16:9. Basically a mash up of the Xperia M2 and Xperia U screen.

  • IDK

  • When will this phone be available in the Philippines?

  • how about fold able head? because that suits you

  • if you did not buy it, therefore how come you knew 2,000 is unworthy?

  • new query: what if I buy a corei9 laptop is it better than galaxy fold?

  • A 4.6 inch is fine. Do you see iPhone users with the iPhones 6, 6s, 7 or 8 complaining about a 4.7 inch screen?

  • Fold is better than the cheap ass x

  • And what about Foldable Brains ? For foldable phones you need foldable brains !

  • $2000 samsung you are crazy!!!!?

  • mmmm point of view, I may use a car instead of taxi, but how can I show ppl that I own a thousand dollars telephone? to attract girls :(( mmmmm its ok I will buy Samsung S2 and post on it Foldable also the apple mark :)

  • just buy a car.

  • Lol

  • I think $2000 for a tablet is a bit much. The phone part has gigantic bezels and for that price, I would except specs better than the S10+. Samsung always did have overprice tablets.

  • I am thinking if I buy a car or Samsung Galaxy Fold.. can anyone help me?

  • I think 512 GB of storage is more than enough

  • With a Screen Size of 7.3 and 855 snapdragon with 12 GB Ram, it is a computer replacement. Why wouldn't you give it a memory slot for SD card for storage extension? Power hungry device without the big stomach to store data. Guess I will have to wait till the next foldable with Card slot.

  • i am using note4 for 5 years and still work 100% and now fold will be my next phone for next year and after next fold with sd option would always be great :).

  • My next phone

  • I would've loved to have bought the Samsung fold I became a big Samsung fan ever since the Samsung note 3 but having the note 3 the note 4 so on so on right now I have the Samsung note 9 and I cannot get use to having a phone without the S pen now so I'm going to wait for the Samsung note 10 to arrive and I think that's going to be my next phone.

  • True, many people do this and it's just wasteful. I replace my phones every 2-2.5 years. Only once I replaced my phone after 1.5 years as it sometimes would not charge and would restart every now and then.

  • But you are not supposed to buy a new phone every year . For me I buy a 150€ smartphone and want to keep it for four years

  • Also waiting for Phone Dimensions. I make pockets in my shirts & pants to fit phone snugly. Have been waiting for great flip phone; this Fold is better. Why need thumbs much - speak, & edit wrong input. Unless it's technical, shouldn't need much editing. Will probably get Galaxy Watch Active for blood pressure & pulse ox - IF they seem to work.

  • Not to mention the humongous bezel, ew!

  • Best fold-able smart phone now, classy and sturdy looking. Price is steep but for the research they put into this device makes sense. They could have made the screen outside a bit wider though.

  • 4.6" is very small size, its fold when opened is not suitable to watch spectacular events because real life's view get distorted along the slope.

  • we should pay samsung $1000 a year : but after samsung fold get ready guys to pay $2000 a years samsung company r poor needs ur supports !

  • Why dont you open a Smart phone company? You are such an expert

  • do you know how ridiculous this price is compare to what samsung invested in the technology in there? dont want to support samsung for those investement wait for samsung fold 2. other wise let me ask you how much is a samsung tab pro, ''lets say'' a galaxie A8 and a note 9 and squeeze them all together in a single phone

  • Any idea about the weight

  • WTF?! 2000 Euros?! Seriously?

  • Yeah. Lossless over Bluetooth. Good choice of CSR silicon for Bluetooth! Do we have headphones supporting apt-x HD?

  • finally an aptX hd

  • When this device will be available on the Philippines????and where I can buy this device online???thank you for in advance for the answers...and does it have some protectors ??

  • Yes! And Samsung failed at delivering an updated and modern communicator. I'm telling you, if Nokia has learnt their lessons right, they still have a better chance at this.

  • SAMSUNG did that already - Galaxy Fold. If NOKIA make it again, many peoples will say NOKIA is copying SAMSUNG.

  • True! Samsung is quickly towing the Vertu path.

  • Samsung Galaxy Fold is the next smart "flip" phone - Nokia in 1997 just called and they want their patent design back!

  • They still very much have a chance at remaking the Communicator series.

  • I see. That time, NOKIA still stick with Symbian and think that it is the best and the only one. If NOKIA has changed to Android like what SAMSUNG did that time, I believe NOKIA still exist now.

  • Probably when they stop hiding it and allow human beings to actually touch and use it for hours (like the Huawei Mate X) and release its dimensions and weight (again like Huawei Mate X) then we will see a comparison with the Nokia Communicator series and YOU will see what copycat means.

  • I don't think you really have any idea of what copycat means...

  • No (if only nokia was smart enough). I was only saying IF the 9210i had android, it would be better value for money than a $2000 copycat "fold"

  • This NOKIA communicator can run in Android?

  • Even this (with android) is better value for money than the "fold" at $2000.

  • No where

  • Where am I going with this brick? That's thicker than the Nokia N95 that we had in the past.

  • Precisely!

  • The hinge will break less than three months.

  • Now is 2019, not 2009. And the price for this SAMSUNG Fold is 2,000 Dollar, not 200 Dollar. SAMSUNG use more than five years time to develop this phone, which I believe is a replica of previous NOKIA 9300 communicator.

  • I agree with you 100%

  • That's my point! You can't even place two thumbs on it let alone type an sms or anything. You end up having to unfold the "phone" for everything except pick calls - basically 98% of your activities will need you unfolding. The hinge will wear in no time. Its basically a small tablet with a notifier on the back ... for $2000??

  • I calculated the dimensions from the image and screen measurements... The tablet is 11.6 cm by 15.62 cm. Phone is 5.8 cm by 15.62 cm. Screen of phone is 4.48 cm by 10.7 cm. It's REALLY small.

  • Mate X is better in every way and well worth the price ( With 5G)

  • I'd choose the samsung fold over that one . But in a way the mate x is the better phone ,with a proper screen on the front. I guess flodable phones r not ready yet for common ppl

  • The Huawei Mate X is good value for money

  • I'm very Happy for you BUT I'm not sure its possible to do anything on a 4.6" screen with a weird and narrow screen ratio that can't even accommodate two thumbs on the screen. not for anything more than $100.

  • The front screen is ugly and why would anyone want a phone like that? And wow would u look at that,a notch😂,the floding phones r sooo impractical ,i guess its just for the sake of making sth new

  • Do you remember the first I phone? it has 3.5-inch display and no problem to use it. 4.6 inches will be totally OK

  • Keyword; Phone! The folded form gives a below average and non-usable (by todays standard) "phone" - which due to its very narrow screen ratio makes it impossible to thumb type an SMS, WhatsApp message, email or anything on Social media. The unfolded form gives a 7.2" "tablet" with which screen ratio makes it a small tablet that has barely enough screen real estate to view a webpage in deaktop mode. To do anything like send an sms, reply an sms, send an email, reply an email, send or reply a WhatsApp, Telegram Message, or even do any social media viewing, commentary or even view a webpage, you MUST unfold thia device and that would mean 95% of the time - that will increase the wear and tear on the hinge mechanism and screen area in the folded part and end up an expensive ownership cost. This is what makes the Huawei Mate X better as when folded, you can do 95% of what is required on a phone and a smartphone with it folded and would ONLY need to unfold rarely (just like using an android tablet). Hence the prolonged life of the device and hinge mechanism and overall efficiency. The Galaxy fold should be avoided

  • Note 9 is already in large phablet category. I dont see any merit in making foldable that size when folded. Why we need foldables in the first place is because we want a compact device opened up to a big device. The huawei design is pretty and all and that the only credit I give. Functionality wise Samsung have the upper hand. We want a foldable phone. Keyword; phone. Phone that can be folded smaller that its original phablet size.

  • samsugi is betAr

  • U sure that screen will be scratchless after a week or two??

  • ... because the folded screen ratio makes it the size of a Note 9 ( only even with more screen real estate and better features) and when unfolded, it gives a tablet mode 8" screen size (different screen ratio) with awesome speakers and features This gives you a flagship phone folded and a tablet unfolded. Unlike the 9210 revamp offered by fold with a useless folded screen

  • The Huawei will last longer, more useful screen when folded and outperform the Fold even with the 12gb ram

  • Well said. When it comes to Samsung their device actually answered the question, "Why we need foldable phone?". Ask that to Huawei. Idk what they doing with a large 6.6" phone unfolded into 8" tablet. Why do you even make foldable dear Huawei? Why do we need it?

  • Wow! 12GB of RAM! We've come a long way since a long time ago!

  • After watching the actual handling videos of this device and the videos by Samsung for its fold I looked at the options offered and practicality of these phones; The Huawei Mate X when folded gives you a full smart phone with 6.6" which by all standards is enough for all smartphone use scenarios. it also gives you all what their flagship phones have to offer including media consumption, emails, social media, etc. When unfolded it basically gives you an 8" tablet with all tablet features and awesome speakers. This tablet mode for most users will be 25% (or less) of the time as the folded form is more than enough for most users. This factor will reduce need for unfolding constantly and help reduce wear and tear. So in summary, you have a huge screen flagship smartphone and a flagship tablet when folded and unfolded respectively. Samsung Galaxy fold on the other hand when folded offers a below average and non-usable (by todays standards) smartphone with a 4.6" screen and a ratio that makes it a tad better than a feature phone. When unfolded, it gives a 7.2" screen which is not exactly a tablet and borders a big screen phone territory in a very uncomfortable way. In otherwords, to type an sms or WhatsApp message, you have to unfold the device, to send an email or do anything on social media, you have to unfold the device. The folded form is only good for calls and can't be used conveniently to thumb type (basically a feature phone). its essentially a touch enabled Nokia 9210i giving you a folded option which is a feature phone and an unfolded option which is an oversized smartphone. Most importantly, an unfortunate buyer will end up unfolding it 90% of the time which will quickly wear the hinge mechanism and eventually result in a very expensive repair and ownership cost. The Huawei Mate X is value for money while the Galaxy fold is a 1980's tech enthusiast's fantasy.

  • Foldable Device (in this case Galaxy Fold) without a built in stylus (like Note Series) is wothless... I like Samsung devices... but seriously.... This amount of cash without an S-Pen lookalike (It's a a tablet if you open it in the long run). So it is crap at the current state. I hope at some later generation they will upgrade it.

  • Mm.. looks nice. Most mobile last 3 years . As dropped phone etc. so think it’s all devices! There making bucks. I know Samsung tv top line is Amazing! Just see how fold goes if anything we see 6 months in the purchase people will comment . As if we don’t experience it how can you comment YeT.. but as we feel beautiful device I’m sure like all companies they make dollars.. wish them all luck. As I said wait see .. but top range tv is Dam fantastic.. I know as we have one! All best out there!

  • You are still talking about iphone 6 !! Note 7 has a more serious problem and everyone just stopped talking about it for years ago samsung fanboy are so annoying I'm not an isheep

  • lmfao!!! good one

  • I paid a pound more and doubled my data AND received an additional £30 cash #Winning

  • samsungs are generally ugly. i would much rather have an alcatel u3 which carphone warehouse are doing for just £25p/m with an astonishing £100 cashback. check it out guys

  • Nicely said! This is the quality comment everyone wants to read rather than the repeated bad mouthing Samsung that nobody wants to read

  • Reasons for picking fold vs huawei's X. 1. Inward folding, protect your bigger screen compared to outward folding. (So basically you can still get glass tempered screen protector for front screen. huawei x will have a harder time to get screen protector. 2. Multiple Camera placement, take selfie / photo in any configuration. 3. Due to inward folding, samsung is able to place reverse charging on the other side. So you can charge your watch / bt earphone when folded. 4. Cheaper price. 5. Higher memory compared to huawei. 12gb vs 8gb. * means little IMO. 6. One hand operation easier on Fold, due to smaller screen, and larger bezels. In terms of looks, Huawei looks good. But when it comes to functional use, I feel Samsung got it right.

  • How about you talk about durability, screen quality, battery life, UI and processor rather than bad mouthing Samsung repeatedly saying that the design is ugly

  • Not interested in design! Not nice and hot! :(

  • I like this phone it’s like two phone together and it have soild build bulky body for more protection although I am not fun of the notch on the right side, I like the small body (flipped mode) makes it easy to carry around

  • I'm Samsung fan, but Compare to #galaxyfold design samsung sucks!!! Congratulate to huawei ^^'

  • thats the thing im not getting

  • You can say that because you have not experience. Try experiencing before you conclude.

  • A couple things not mention. Scratches. With the outside screen and especially at the corners on the Huawei phone it is bound to get scratches at some point. BAD. Also you cant put a cover or any type of protector on the phone. BAD. At least with the Samsung phone its closed while in your pocket so all the precious screen is somewhat protected. Just my 2 cent.

  • For some persons, they charge phone once a day, normally at night. It is hard to experience fast charge and must to be paid for it.

  • Amazing phone.

  • You keep coming here and badmouth Samsung so I guess Huawei sales must be dissapointing

  • Did not reveal dimensions yet?

  • It's superb, I wish it was 5g as well .

  • The sales figures will let us know about the truth of HUAWEI flagship phones. Happy but true!

  • Apple did it first #iBend... LOL

  • People are forgetting that the galaxy fold is 600 dollars cheaper than mate x. So it having a lesser powered charger and battery than mate x is not unreasonable. With regard to design though both inward fold and outfold designs will be the two main designs for foldable phones in the future. Other designs will also be there, but for horizontal folding phones, these two kinds of design will be main in my opinion. And both phones are extremely impressive, innovative and awesome. The phones are trendsetters. But for now though i think samsungs phone is more suitable for real world use i think for majority of people.

  • ron amedaro who made that galaxy fold mock video is not bright. He got so overwhelmed by the mate x's more colorful screen and thinness that he forgot to notice how practical the galaxy fold's design is. Mate x design is good too but as its screen folds outside, it will be good after say a couple of years when foldable screens become more durable in real world use.

  • According to the information here, the charger for SAMSUNG Fold is 18W, not 20W. In my opinion, SAMSUNG'S technology is at the maximum point already for both of the hardware and software. Look at the charger, HUAWEI already give a 55W charger to the Mate X. But SAMSUNG still give a less than 20W charger only. For the UI, SAMSUNG need the assistance from Android engineers to help them to optimise (from Experience UI to One UI). And also special optimise for this Fold. But HUAWEI just do all the things themselves.

  • There's nothing interesting about the Huawei mate x. It's just a piece of tablet that folds awkwardly into a phone with back to back screens. No worthwhile change to the way you handle a smartphone. And the only thing they can advertise is yet another jab at bezelless screens. Pathetic and a huge waste of money. It's a laughable attempt at best. Have to give them props for ambition, however, even if everyone knows the mate x is going to be a flop. Just like the mate 20 pro and the mate 20 x. In the end, huawei's best bet is still the honor line. Put that into perspective and it's easy to see nobody truly cares about huawei flagships. Sad but true.

  • good phone much much better than huawei in terms of specs

  • Comparison between Huawei Mate x and Samsung Galaxy Fold 1 As a phone,Huawei has a 6.8 inches ture bezel-less screen while Samsung just has a 4.6 inches screen with 4 ridiculous huge bezel from a decade ago 2 As a pad,Huawei is bezel-less once again while Samsung has a cut-off on the top right of the screen looks weird 3 for foldable ability ,Huawei could be fold completely due to its the 3-year developed hinges composed of 100 small mechanical parts,so its gap free while Samsung has a gap between the screens when it’s fold, which make it thick and not even flat as a phone 4 Huawei is 5.4 mm thick as a pad and 11 mm as a phone while Samsung is 6.9mm and ridiculous 17mm as a phone cause it has a gap between two screens!! 5 Huawei has 4500 mah battery while Samsung only 4320 mah 6 Huawei 55W charge (fastest in the world ) speed and the charger is common to ur matebook or macbook. While Samsung is 20W . 7 Huawei’s total design is more natural to use fold open and hold, while the triangle Samsung is more like putting a small screen on the back of a pad,not friendly to common people’s habit 8 Huawei made a special protection case for it,which Samsung did not. While they both use plastic screen, the problem with plastic some Samsung fans claim is even worse on Samsung cause its not even flat when fold remember?Samsung is desperately hiding it and only show it through vids with dark light (check #10:39 #11:15 #11:18 of the announcement vids u still see the plastic reflection)and so on,nobody has seen the phone in person ,while Huawei as least allow all the journalist watch and shoot the phone closely .guess who is more bothered by the plastic screen problems?not gonna mention better 5g and so on.

  • wasting money it does not bring some thing new they just withroww our money for things we do not need

  • Between Samsung Fold and Huawei Mate x , I like this galaxy fold most. First of all, you dont need a bigger screen when you talk or travelling. So you can use the basic screen. And for entertainment and multitasking you can switch to the bigger one. Most users will worry about its durability. I think having the big screen inside is much more safer than the outside. Also the look is more gorgeous!! Only thing i dont like is camera. In this price it should have more higher camera.

  • "...Is not essential it never was"? Show me the time where professional DJs or music producers or sound engineers use wireless earphones/headphones rather than wired ones, and I will believe you.

  • Actually, Samsung's implementation is much practical and better, it is more narrow even if it's chunky, although it needs a bigger screen when folded. Huawei's foldable phone is also good when or when not folded but the screen is prone to breakage and scratches. And as of now Samsung Galaxy Fold looks more premium than the Mate X

  • What's the point of having a separate screen for the phone mode? Why do they have to make the foldable tablet screen to fold inwards, instead of outwards? Such a waste of foldable screen technology, and a waste of space as well. Huawei's implementation is way better, it represents the foldable display technology in a correct way

  • True! When the phone is fold, it's like an ancient phone with big bezel. What a waste!

  • Bro, you are truly an expert as you keep copy pasting the same paragraph about Samsung design flaws in every Galaxy Fold and Mate X comment section. You should leave your keyboard and start your company to create, engineer and innovate your smartphone rather than bad mouthing others in this website.

  • More funny comments. I guess this keyboard warrior shouldn't be banned after all because he makes the comment section more exciting. Just don't take his comment seriously

  • Why won't Samsung let us see its foldable phone? ---------------------------- Samsung may have just unveiled the most exciting new phone in years. Or, it may have unveiled a nearly $2,000 disappointment that just so happens to have a flexible display. Let's talk about the crease. If you watch Samsung's demos closely, you can clearly make out an unsightly crease that runs right down the center of the display when it's folded out in "tablet mode." The crease may be a necessary evil, but it's still ugly. It also raises questions about the Galaxy Fold's longterm durability. ----------------------------

  • Samsung's Galaxy Fold display has a crease right in the middle

  • Samsung Galaxy Fold is the stunning phone nobody wants

  • They mix the tablet and mobile that is not really good mobiles and tablets should separate. Also it hasn't headphones jack

  • Yes but is that really worth how ugly it is

  • The screen lamination is better than any competitor's on this device

  • Does anyone know when will xiaomi release its foldable smartphone ? It would be affordable with premium quality

  • One of the ugliest devices and unattractive should be refined a lot.

  • 2000 EUR !! I can by a car for that.

  • Now isn't the right time, 5 years more affordable

  • Comparison of Huawei Mate X and Samsung Fold. Huawei Mate X: Folding-out. Creates soft crease(s), fully recoverable, and without hard-crease line(s). Samsung Fold: Folding-in. Creates hard crease(s), with visible and unrecoverable hard-crease line(s). A close-up look at Huawei Mate X by a German reporter: Huawei Mate X in action in close-up. The commentary offered by the reviewer is spot-on: Promotional videos and pictures from Samsung have tried to hide the center crease line(s). But take a look at Samsung Fold from the following video: Play this video with slow-motion (0.25 of full speed), at around 0:51 you will see a very clear hard crease line in the middle.

  • Man it doesnt matters. Less and less phone manufacturers use jack. Even Samsung decided to stop using jack in their devices. Galaxy fold is first future S models are next. Or why do you think they added wireless earphones in the box? Just to make ready people for no jack. And i am only glad this 150 years old tech going to history. Is not essential it never was.

  • Hahaha sure sure. I can name you 10 tio 20 earphones and headphones and earbuds which wireless sunds better or a lot better than a wired ones. By the way wireless options is always better option to pick.

  • Yes they are. If you can charge your phone every night why you cant earphones? Yes you can so its clever and essential if you want to use them next day. By the way less and ,less manufacturers use jack and in 2-3 years no flagship will have it and maybe a no midranger as well. In next 5 years jack will be gone or remains only in phones with physical buttons.

  • Well i am. By the way Samsung Galaxy fold dont have jack and fact Samsung add wireless earbuds to S10 phones as a gift means any upcomming samsung flagship will have no jack at all. And in 2-3 years even a midrangers and basic models will have no analog jack. Finaly this jack curse will be over. Having a notch is bad but having a jack is far worse.

  • Yes i kniw that but a 10 miliseconds delay is nothing. Is like the difference of running same game on a S8 Samsung or S9 samsun g with never CPU. It will be in milisecionds if any. From moment you press icon on screen until game loads the main menu.

  • Well you didn't even see Huawei's mate x it does have a crease in the middle too both of them no one have hands on review for both phone except the fact even with giant bezels Samsung fold was much more premium than mate x in term of feel and look so don't say this one is better than this because both of them have failed in this test and maybe the final product is going to be better or fix this problem

  • If I am not mistaken, SAMSUNG already did the invent seven years ago, that was 2012.

  • Woah! I just know that the NOKIA 9300 communicator is using foldable OLED, touch screen, and other modern technologies that doesn't exist that time since the Galaxy Fold is a replica of it

  • Your long essay comments shows me that you are an expert. So you are even more expert than the experts who designed and engineered Galaxy Fold and Mate X since you know a lot and can know which phone will have an engineering failure. Nah, you're just a keyboard warrior anyway

  • Galaxy Fold has similar OLED technology as Huawei Mate X. There is no crease line on the Galaxy where the phone folds. The "anonymous" opinions are trying to BS you. Don't be their fool and believe what they write.

  • The basic premise of a foldable device with OLED screen is this: The OLED screen is so flexible that you can bend it and role it, and when it is fully open it can return to its original unblemished state. The Samsung Galaxy Fold has failed to deliver on that premise. The fact remains that the OLED screen is not creasable in the sense that the OLED screen can't return to its original unblemished state once it is creased. The Samsung designers have failed to understand this basic limitation of OLED. What a failure on the part of Samsung! Considering that Samsung is the principle flag-bearer of OLED display technology. Considering that the talk about a foldable device started as early as 2014, and it was followed up with years of resources and engineering effort. Considering the prestige Samsung has attached to such a high profile project. This is not just another failure, it is a failure on a "spectacular" scale!

  • Go to check out the NOKIA 9300 communicator first, then you will know who are delusional. SAMSUNG is just copy and paste the design of 9300 communicator.

  • There is a fundamental difference in design between Huawei Mate X and Samsung Fold. When Huawei Mate X is fully open, you face an unblemished AMOLED screen, just like you would with any other tablet. When Samsung Fold is fully open, you face a damaged AMOLED screen with a very visible hard-crease line in the middle, something you never have to face until now. Run that Samsung Galaxy Fold silent video using slow-motion (0.25 of full speed), at around 0:51 you will see a very clear hard crease line in the middle. Do you really want to use a 7.3" tablet with a damaged AMOLED screen (with a visible hard-crease line in the middle)?

  • The pictures are dodged. The pictures do not show there is a very visible hard crease line in the middle of the AMOLED screen.

  • funny trolling. Or you're delusional.

  • I don't know if they made the phone screen side extremely small on purpose or not. For sure they could make that screen a little bigger, since the phone is costing an arm and a leg for it.

  • SAMSUNG Galaxy Fold is just a replica of previous NOKIA 9300 communicator (2)

  • No waterproofing?

  • 5G?

  • We're too many anyway. Unless they solve world hunger, pollution and make everything by machines and AI, we're going nowhere but down.. We're a virus to this planet.

  • I would rather donate my earnings to the poor than buy a gadget which doesn't solve any problem. $2000 is a mockery to those just living to survive.

  • SAMSUNG Galaxy Fold is just a replica of previous NOKIA 9300 communicator.

  • Man, they're not expecting to get any sales out of this. This is only a "beta", if can call it that. Also, if you want to judge something, please kindly either read the reviews or buy it yourself. Don't make judges all from the specs, it's just unfair.

  • Better display than apple. Decent bat size for a phone. Oh yeah it's a phone. Why even bring up an ipad. Unless you use a ipad pro as a phone. Wipes the floor

  • I guess the surface of the fold screen is plastic. So it will not be as scratch resistant as glass.

  • Amazing phone

  • The gap when the Fold is closed is the killer. Think of a high school binder. It's only Generation 1. I just hope the Fold 2 and other future successors can keep the device flat when closed. Make sure to increase the outside display. At this point, foldables are gimmicky and expensive... For now. But I envision it eliminating the slab tablet market eventually. My favorite foldable concept still comes from Xiaomi. Maybe Huawei can surprise us.

  • its gonna fail it has a crappy plastic display a 4380 mAh battery compared to the ipad pro's 9720 mAh it has a huge notch and its 2000 bucks! the market is in decline so not a good move to make a device that dose not have good features and costs 2000 bucks and don't get me started on when its folded into a phone its 4X thicker than a normal phone and the bezels are acctually bigger than the original iphone !!!!

  • You guys keep complaining about $5 wireless buds, which, just like wired $5 are really bad. Try something like Sennheiser Momentum InEar or PXC 550. After listening to PXC I bought it and never looked back at wired. And I'm sure the future will bring even better wireless solutions, so weather like it or not, 3.5mm jack will be less and less present on phones.

  • Fold is 5g and 4g both....battery is fully optimised. AI is here to learn things and make things even better

  • This is crazy features

  • The front screen size is tiny and those massive bezels..... for USD2000 no thanks

  • samsung is developing 3 to 5 folds phone

  • i think the iphone very poor battery..

  • Sorry, what?

  • Heh, this is true enough!

  • I don't get how they didn't include a headphone jack...????? I mean it's not paper thin... it's basically a normal phone with a foldable center. Also can't tell exactly but I think there's two ports?

  • No 18:9 ratio when unfolds?

  • How do you know all this from just looking at pictures

  • go ahead then order one. nobody's stopping!

  • correct

  • Here we go.. Waiting for samsung foldable owner about their tablet issues...

  • I can't wait to pre-order mine!

  • At the price of note 9 you can get xiaomi mi 9 and an 400$ tablet

  • Poor batteries ever with Samsung

  • you're right in the way that current wired headphones are superior but wireless is coming and the only way to get funds for r and d is to unfortunately plug everywhere (ironic isn't it) I prefer a headphone jack because of the better quality and not dealing with battery lives of my headphones, but we all know that wireless is the future whether we like it or not.

  • when you say even better it should be, iphone xs max is not a note 9 plus I'm sure you could get a note 9 and a 300 tablet for the price of an iphone xs max let alone the Samsung fold.

  • The screen probably won't be but hopefully there will be one by the end of the year that has a decent screen to body ratio in "phone mode" as while tablet part looks great on the Samsung I'm not a big fan of how small the screen is unfolded.

  • I love foldable phone. The smaller front screen is a tribute to smaller iphone back then. Smaller hands users gotta be happy about it. I think the only thing I dislike is the price tag lol. But something tells that the chinnese knock offs will suck donkey balls in screen quality IMHO... dunno other components. thank you Samsung! saludos desde Chile

  • its the best phone+tablet that sammy made for 2019, i know the chinese copy cats are gonna be making a cheaper one, non premium lcd or ips lcd screen and their fans will be like, its better than sammys foldable phone, let me tell you in advance it never will:)

  • Well I guess I will be selling my tablet 😂 This is what I dreamed of having, my phone and tablet together. Sign me up I want one today!! 😜

  • It will end up in 16:9 aspect

  • lol Dude atleast its a foldable one!

  • It lost me with no SD card slot. Also the front display is kinda small. Not gonna brag about the price like everyone else. Everything new is expensive in the beginning. Deal with it! This reminds me of the first Note edge. It was cool for being different, but the later models turned out a lot better so I'm in no hurry. I'm more interested about the S10+ or Sony XZ4.

  • Who will play game with this? I wonder, how to play game with this ratio...heheh imagine that ;)

  • Lol, awesome!...

  • ratio is 14:10, not 16:10. Calculate again, 2152:1536, it is not 16:10 !

  • useless phone, no 3,5mm jack...

  • Or even better ; an iPhone XS Max plus an iPad mini 4 plus change.

  • Samsung is officially towing the Vertu path with all their new products and it's moving fast towards failure. Will wait for a practical phone maker like Huawei to give us a better version of the foldable phone.

  • it will be too heavy. it's not so convenient if it's too much weight in your pocket. it would stretch any pocket too much, so it would need to be kept somewhere else, which is not really convenient... I like if I can keep my phone in a pocket, not too big but also not too heavy...

  • Love this! Will surely get this when the S20 is announced. But for the meantime, let me look for a Nokia 9210i Communicator. Anyone?

  • I understand new technologies always come with premium prices, but the price of this Samsung Galaxy Fold is indeed too PREMIUM, and I don't think it is superior then their own flagships so much.

  • Because of the chip, which is at the moment the best! battery usage goes down so they don't need a huge battery..

  • can't you read? we are talking about 3.5 mm, and everyone knows that only ancient primitive sheeple would say 3.5 mm jack is ancient. 3.5 mm removal is marketing strategy to push people to buy more gadget which is Wireless earphone. They have 'courage' to do that because phone is mainstream device that everyone, including sheeple, buy, not like laptop and computer

  • Read the disclaimer you smart a**

  • Samsung Galaxy Fold should also be Called Samsung Galaxy Butterfly! it really looks a #Butterfly when it is slightly fold.

  • they might as well just have had 2 screens on it

  • I'm sick of people hating on this device. They assume they know better than engineers working on this for years. The 4.6" display is very good size for hand because it's thicker when folded. Unfolded you got nice small sized tablet.

  • 700 dollars for all features and 1300 dollars because you can fold it. I'd rather would buy a note 9 and a 300 dollar 7 inch tablet

  • actually your wrong a quick google search and you can see that you are wrong. wired headphones still have better sound quality than wireless. plz use google and find some facts before saying stupid stuff like this

  • Good read about the Fold's gap.

  • the battery is the worst .. i thought at least 5000 mah or 7000mah ...that is enough to not buy it .. but they put a very good processor ..

  • For now, the Galaxy Fold will be a niche device for rich folks who can afford it. Let them be the guinea pigs. The Note series started off niche too. I have no intention adding $82+ to my T-Mobile monthly bill to get this. The best solution is to wait for the tech to get better and for the price to get cheaper. They always improve and get cheaper. I want the Galaxy Fold 2 and future successors to make the outside screen bigger. It looks weird closed with all that top and bottom bezel. Make it thinner. Make it cheaper. Perhaps make a foldable for the Note series. I'll be all-in if they do all that.

  • How much does the main screen measure? 3"? About $1980? gross... Just wait for the Note10

  • That's not possible. The s pen requires specific display hardware to work.

  • What's that pill shaped hole on the top of the phone?

  • No headphone jack and no activated fm radio chip? That's ridiculous. At this price that's unacceptable.

  • it would actually be better to have the folded phone width increase. so that it will be a normal phone when folded. this thing is just bad.

  • disaster battery

  • sometime, down the road, this will get an spen compatibility

  • I would have preferred if the overall phone was not as tall when in folded mode. This would have 2 effects 1. There wouldn't be so many space wasted on the front 2. The unfolded display would not have such a laptop-like aspect ratio, but more of a monitor ratio.

  • Nope! I really don't like this phone. For me it's ugly! 4.6" ?? In 2019?? But 7.3": they released again their 2013-2014 tablets. A 6.3" was better and 5.4" was better, to!

  • Have a look at the price and prepare for a bank loan...

  • What is the weight of this tab-phone?

  • The specs are indeed high and attractive, especially it's foldable capability. I admit that I was kind of impressed when they said they were producing foldable mobile. At that time, I told myself that I'd buy it no matter what. But now, I kind of changed my mind because I realised that the price is a bit high for those specs. Samsung really wants to have more profits. I think they should do reasonable prices for all mobiles, so that everyone can buy.

  • This is biggest punch from Samsung...Samsung at its best ... i will not be a note buyer anymore....i will buy this on 1st day of sale

  • I guess this Folding Mobile from Samsung will not have MST and Wireless Fast Charging. I thought they mentioned a 25 watt charger.

  • What about huawei mate 20 X?

  • Does anybody know the weight of this phone? Not listed in Specs. Looks kinda thick. Definitely interesting. I have to bring both a tablet and phone everywhere with me for work so one less device is helpful. Doesn't seem like it's getting positive feedback. I figure it's expensive because it's two devices in one.

  • They are and long time. You can charge your earphones durring night as you do with phone. Dont try to tell me you listen to music via earplugs 24/7. I will not believe you.

  • That bezels on front, so ugly

  • WoooooW really 10 miliseconds??? And you said it like its 10 hours omg. Do you really think a 10 milliseconds makes a difference??? If i run same game on P20 pro Povered by Kirin 970 and Mate 20 pro powered by Kirin 980 the game will be equaly smooth and mate 20 pro will run it maybe by 10 miliseconds faster do you think its arelevant diference to have Mate 20 pro over P20 pro??? Are you kidding me mate???

  • Man on certain sites you can buy wireless earphones or earplugs for as low as 5-10 euros. So dont speak me about money.

  • Yes it is cables wont obstruct you wont got the way. If you charging your phone overnight you can do with earphones as well. And not many people listen to the music 24/7 is not very healthy. But clever people should know that. Primitive use wired oones with cables all around body. Such primitive option.

  • 5g s10 or s10 plus are better than this

  • I'd rather buy a car for that amount of money.

  • RIP PHONE! what is the 3cm black buzel on front face phone??!! this phone is already RIP. and cost almost 2000 euro. Huawei is gone to make full display on phone fold.

  • At price of rs 100k, I can consider this toy.

  • few hour ? thats what happen u buy $10 bluetooth headset .... u can afford 2k phone , but cant buy proper bluetooth headset .... lol

  • Nope! I really don't like this phone. For me it's ugly! 4.6" ?? In 2019?? But 7.3": they released again their 2013-2014 tablets. A 6.3" was better and 5.4" was better, to!

  • do u think charging ear phones every few hours is clever. Wireless earphones are still not up to the mark!

  • My concern is about dropping this thing and cost to replace screen. There is no way you can get a cover for this.

  • Sorry but if being clever means sticking to inferior methods then go and be clever all by yourself.

  • wired head phones still provide best output. Specially in gaming. by default there is a 10 mili second delay in non blue tooth head phones.

  • Many people using 3.5 mm jack cause they don't have money .Also In some situations 3.5 can be more effective.

  • not water resistant, wireless charging, front flash, card slot and with that long thick big notch inside that fit 4 camera space and after folded like case screen coz big thick bezel all around in Galaxy history instead of full screen with that high price? is a big no!

  • Again Samsung disappoints in the storage area. And battery....for that much screenage and expectation of use, you'd expect more battery. Interesting device, but as I've always maintained...never purchase the "1.0" of any new tech. Overpriced, overhyped and in many respects it underperforms, in my opinion. (I'm talking about any 1.0 tech )

  • Nope! I really don't like this phone. For me it's ugly! 4.6" ?? In 2019?? But 7.3": they released again their 2013-2014 tablets. A 6.3" was better and 5.4" was better, to!

  • Nope! I really don't like this phone. For me it's ugly!

  • say what ?? cleaver is wireless ?? are you kidding ?? so meaning to say cleaver is charging the wireless headset / earphone ?? rather than wired headset simply plug in. unlike the wireless. you need to charge it before you used it and you cannon use that for almost a day if your wireless headphone will get lowbat! is that CLEAVER ???

  • the weak spot of this phone is on the middle. maybe using this for 1 year this phone rip off

  • Thats a lie. Wireless sounds even better if you know what to buy. But people like you who live in past and do everything to stop evolving technology by promoting ancient things like jack will always say something like that. For ones like you i cannot help.

  • Man i am speaking about phone. You dont go with laptop out using it as MP3 player do you??? And yes as you said primitive people still use 3,5mm jack. The clever ones got wireless.

  • Just useless phone at this price.

  • If this was cheaper I'd consider it. I really do think this is innovation at it's finest, and if this is the future then count me in. It's nice to see someone being bold and daring in today's phone market. I work in a phone shop and it's sickening every time Samsung or Apple bring out a new phone. They're always the same as the last one, only it might be a little bigger or the camera is better or the battery might last longer, but they always look the same. This is a pleasant and welcome change. It's 2k price tag will be because it's the only one of it's kind and a prototype for the market, but once more are made it will become cheaper (well as cheap as top of the range Samsungs get I guess). Samsung have shown everyone that it can be done, something which Apple used to be known for. Hopefully the smaller companies will try this now Samsung have led the way. Well done, Samsung.

  • Too bad. Only few would buy this.

  • Are you sure about the price tag of galaxy fold in your country? $1900+ for a samsung galaxy fold?!

  • Because laptops/computers are stable platforms when being used. Unlike the smartphones/tablets which are moving. Especially when placed on pockets/pouch bags/belt bags/sling bags when being used.

  • Who told you? It is the other way around, and wireless headphones give you freedom to move around without those tangling wires that might get caught.

  • Small Battery though !

  • LOL! I don't see DJs use smartphone at their sets. How was that? There are wireless headphone with better quality than wired headset just for your info.

  • 2k Eur??? they can keep the it for themselves....

  • Im just happy to know that their again placing snapdragon chipset in stheir phones

  • Wait 3 months after release and you will be able to buy for 1000 or less... :-D

  • Not buying this for 2k with HD+ 4.6 inch screen...

  • No hands-on experience for invitees yet, thus no such data. It is just a huge "MESSAGE" to other foldable phone makers, and also APPLE.

  • u prefer buying tablet at that price and smart phone too

  • Well done Samsung, something new, something innovative that will only get better going forward. Apple that used to be the innovator is now bringing up the rear...

  • how come it cost almost 2k bucks?

  • Does the Folding mechanism not allow IP68 protection ? :,(

  • No weight, no dimension data. Seems suspicious...

  • Now that Samsung already made this kind of device, I would love to see HMD Nokia do a modern day interpretation of the E90 Communicator. Instead of two screen inside, I want to see a proper QWERTY keyboard.

  • I don't see DJs use wireless headphone at their sets. Audiophiles and audio engineers can tell you that wireless headphone would need to sacrifice sound quality for battery longevity. There is no way wireless headphone would sound equal to wired one, and that's a fact!

  • Definitely agree. After all, wireless headphones have to sacrifice sound quality for battery longevity. You certainly don't face the latter with wired ones.

  • its water proof???

  • Right now Royole, Xiaomi could be like asking questions, "How come our foldable screen so dim, so many fingerprints and creases? Why Samsung's foldable screen has got nice matt finish and bright? And how they do it with such sharp bend and almost zero creases at center? How???" Let's wait for Huawei's foldable phone this Sunday to see how competitive it is. Or they probably cancel it after they saw Samsung's Galaxy Fold. LOL.

  • AFAIK there are two batteries 4000+ there

  • The bummer is it doesn't have a headphone jack. Boo! It gets annoying. Wireless headphones is going to destroy battery life. The lack of a microSD is no biggie if it has half a terabyte.

  • if 3.5 mm jack is ancient, why laptop & computer still has it? 3.5 mm jack only ancient tech to ancient primitive sheeple

  • Can it compare screen size with huawei mate 20X?

  • This is the greatest mobile product Samsung has ever announced. Better than the first Note or S6 edge. This is really going to change everything. Love the Willy Wonka music in that promo trailer.

  • Apple iPhone Xs Max (512 GB) = $1,449 Samsung Galaxy Fold (512 GB) = $1,980 Storage: 512 GB = 512 GB RAM: 4 GB < 12 GB Cameras: 3 < 6 If you're used to Apple prices, this wouldn't be too shocking. They sell laptops for $3000. For my money, it's not worth it. I'm really not into smartphones like I used to and was never into tablets at all. I'd rather pick up a $400-$500+ PlayStation 5 hopefully released by 2021-2022 and use that for 10 years. But if you compare it to the highway robbery Apple loves to do, the price isn't that bad. Too bad no expandable storage but half a TB should be good for most people's needs for the next 5 to 10 years.

  • What about Spen??

  • would be dope but i would guess more realistic for the Note 11 since they wouldn't want to canibalise themselves and the tech is still way more expensive than the note price. But we also saw the s10+ have the same price as a Note, so yeah idk

  • Price of IPhone Xs Max 512 GB in India is $2109, it is More than Samsung Innovative Fold Phone $1900+.

  • Refinements for the Galaxy Fold 2 - Make the outside screen BIGGER. It looks narrow when folded which makes it one-handed friendly already but too much top and bottom bezels like we're getting transported back to 2007. Try to make it thinner when folded. Probably not at Motorola RAZR-level yet but I do want it thinner when folded. Lower the price. If they can get it to under $1000 in 2-3 years, I'm totally in. For now, I'm just waiting for the PlayStation 5. The one product line that has never disappointed me in nearly 23 years. I have loved all the PlayStations I've ever owned. Other than that, this first-gen Fold is pretty solid as is. The software is quite slick on it with no issues transitioning from fold to unfolded. This is a game changer, folks. The biggest game changer in form factor in a dozen years.

  • Sounds and looks amazing! Lack of 3.5mm jack and sd slot however a major oversight in my view...

  • You can hear the awkward "whoa" in that Tech Insider and CNET video after the guy announced the price. A few awkward snickers moments later. You can also hear the tent in their pants starting to fold! LMAO! Starting at $1980, it matches the year I was born. Not trying to justify price but it's not like Samsung gimped the specs. 512 GB, 12 GB RAM, 6 cameras. It's about $500 more than a 512 GB iPhone XS Plus which has a third of the RAM and cameras while the Fold has a bigger display than it unfolded while one-handed friendly like the XS when folded. You can hate the price. I get that. I think $1,500 would seem more reasonable given this is new tech and having a hinge like that with two different batteries is very complicated engineering. But you can't blame Samsung for offering weak specs for this device. It looks good and has great specs. Certainly looks way better than ZTE's concept. I wish Nintendo came up with a Switch or successor to a Switch with a foldable display. The og Switch is awkward to put in the pocket. Foldable displays would be great for gaming handhelds too. R.I.P. iPads and all tablets Samsung worked for a decade on foldable displays. 2021: "Introducing Apple's revolutionary iPhone that folds!"

  • it can play crysis? xD

  • haha. nintendo 3ds

  • it's definitely not 16:10 aspect ratio, if the resolution is 2152:1536... it's more like 14:10...

  • Let me guess, the next version will have bigger front cover screen

  • Samsung. You could have cut down the camera. and that puny extra screen, the extra effort to code 2 screen design. Use that cost and resource to get a jack + card slot. Simply put it. Just make a foldable tablet.. call it Samsung Tab S Fold.. THERE IS NO NEED TO THINK so much and add so many useless components. In general use case, why tablet is less desirable when moving around is because its form factor.. hard to put in pocket or small bag. Having it folded will be the biggest appeal to end users.. But now the cost and gimmicky nature of multi screen.. complex camera arrangement make this only a funny experiment. You could have earn some serious money from this. sigh..

  • No card slot?

  • No jack and no card slot is the downside of this device.

  • I don't see a smartphone, what i see is a foldable tablet with an external screen.

  • Cannot tell how much the look of this phone reminds me of Nokia 9500 that i had ages ago:)

  • Yup.. expecting that 2nd gen version evolving after studying the initial roll out pitfalls

  • I'm getting Nintendo DS vibes on that design especially the grey color. All its missing is a stylus.

  • Luxery phone for rich

  • y e s

  • Key word is "if", if you had the assets then you would think much differently.

  • Great kickoff to a new era of the way we use smartphones by Samsung, appreciated the effort. Other manufacturers will follow the trend most importantly to give us cheaper option.

  • I love the concept but, this will not be my next phone with no SD card port, no headphone jack ( I could overlook this) and a front display that is not the full screen it is not worth the 2K price tag. Also it would be nice to see the in display finger print reader built in.

  • The price tag is very hefty because Samsung is not able to make very many of these devices and they're ahead of the competition with this product. As time progresses and more manufacturers make good foldable phones, prices will drop significantly (Apple excluded probably).

  • Can't find any sites about it weight.

  • My s8 plus has a higher resolution than that and my 6 years old Ipad mini 2 has like a 6000mAh.

  • Samsung has been working on foldable displays for a decade. 2021 - Apple's revolutionary iPhone that folds! This is NOT going to be my next phone by any means. For $2,000 dollars, are you getting me? I don't even want an iPhone X or Xs for $300! LMAO! But I've been very impressed from what I've seen from a first-gen device. I've been waiting for a device like this for many years and I feel it's now become worth the wait. Looks very, very polished for a first-gen. But for $2K? Hell no. We all wait until they become cheaper and cheaper which coincides at the tech getting better and better. Let the early adopters waste money being guinea pigs. Can't wait what LG and the Chinese OEMs have in store. The Xiaomi one looked very promising. R.I.P. to iPads and every tablet out there. I wish the successor to the Nintendo Switch can be that way. Foldables would be great for handhelds too.

  • 4380mAh battery only for so large thing and then it dont have even 3.5mm jack. Is fold mechanics take so much space from the thing for these 2 thins ? It should have 2 phone size space for one phone.

  • This phone is amazing, really! There where some false rumors this could look like the Axon foldable device, but they where wrong! It is expensive, but it is a new technology. The next generation will be cheaper and better in every way. Hats off to Samsung!

  • The phone is OK, better than other attempts but there 2 things that I don't like, the small front screen with a huge unusable space on the top and bottom, it should have been better with a 21~27:9 aspect ratio screen, something the will be like the S9 in terms of screen to body ratio. Also i don't like the huge corner notch they used, I don't know what they placed in other than the cameras but if they had made it smaller, that would be nice! Anyway 1 other thing they could do to make the device more awesome, is to use a fast charging tech like the supervooc 50W, which splits 25W(5V, 5A) to the 2 batteries inside the phone!

  • This phone marks the beginning of an new era Folding phones are the future

  • f u t u r e

  • Camera hump (not flush), no headphone jack, no card slot. Really?

  • no headphone jack no buy

  • I like how all the haters and iphone fan boys are saying it is too much and it should have this and that, but the fact is that this is real new thing and not just the same old phones but faster

  • where is the thickness dimenssion ? All over thank you , like in south park s18ep1 F you F you

  • All other companies moved up from 18w charge.

  • This might end up less useful than people think, but will probably be successful because people "need" to have the most expensive toy, no matter how absurd it is

  • The next NOTE 10 should have a fold version too !! It would be awesome with stylus

  • Deal breaker at 4380mAh battery. This thing needs at least 6000mAh. Oh and the comical $1980 price tag

  • 1980 Haha. Rather wait for xiaomi it will cost half the price and it will be equaly good. Or Huawei phone. 1980 is price for tech geeks i wont buy it even if i can afford it. This is a pure robbery. After 2-3 years it will cost maybe 400.

  • Yeah you are right we can't compare their quality xiaomi is way ahead of samsung in terms of quality

  • It's awesome, waiting to be morphed into thinner, cheaper, mid-range category.

  • I recently purchased a Xiaomi phone after owning many Samsung phones over the years. It cost less than a third of the price of a Samsung phone. After using it for a few months I can honestly say that Samsung's phones are better - by a very slim margin which does not justify the price difference.

  • lmao what. you clearly must be dumb to say that Samsung's Quality and Xiaomi's Quality as the same. get off here as what you're trying to proove is completely wrong and false. Unlike all the other upcoming foldable Smartphones, this will be the best, yet keep a high price.

  • can you make a version that's made in South Korea

  • gunna be honest that comment made my day :D hahaah

  • Well i will not buy. Samsung isnt my favorite brand. Quality equal to xiaomi and price 3-4 times bigger.

  • I buy this if price range 500-600//$

  • For the money this is going to cost it will be cheaper to buy two same phones and mount them on a hinge.

  • Nothing i am alergic to smoke.

  • Just wait for latest fold phone as this one is first stage so best wait until in the future.. plenty of time and save money.. just watch for next fold phine then review.. dont hurry to buy.

  • What are you smoking mate ?

  • Then don't just buy it, stop complaining

  • But here, the problem you raised was thickness (and by extension the design/engineering) I get it that Samsung isn't offering prices that are accessible in all parts of the world. But like a Bugatti Veyron, can't you just admit when something is a prowess regardless of the price?

  • ...what?

  • The pictures looks hilarious even for a rumoured phone

  • Man maybe but i am always this way. I have no rights to tell people what they should or not should buy but supporting brand which greatly overprices everything its not an solution to a problem.

  • They make it long time ago,but they will not relase any new tehnology as long as the current one is sold. That's a capitalism.

  • You can go and stay in your imaginary world and stop judging people for their own truth. go and get your own truth.

  • I think Xiaomi-s foldable phone will be fantastic...

  • So you don't think things can change? With this mentality, we'd still be in medieval times, living on a flat planet, and with a big fat king ruling us all, with unsanitary conditions and more diseases than you can think of. Yes, you can judge, it is your right. But your judgement is flawed. I don't see anything neutral or accurate in your opinion

  • Man i dont need to know. I know how Samsung works. And if this thing gets revealed by complete specs you will see i was right. I judge because i can. Its my right.

  • Are you part of the team who made this device? No? Then how can you say it will be too thick if you have never touched or even SEEN the device? *Sigh* Hating without knowing. That's what less educated people do with racism and every kind of discrimination in the world

  • Change photo, creepy to look

  • that's what they cant understand, they act like everybody thinks like them smh.

  • It's hilarious when people say something sucks when they don't like it. You are not the rest of the world, there are different phones for different kind of people and this is one of them. Not every manufacturer will make a phone just to fit in your hipster pockets particularly, and if it's too expensive for you then buy something else. There are thousands of models out there, who cares If you dislike this one or if it doesn't meet your needs, it will meet someone else needs. Also remember that your opinion is just another one from the bunch... And also, what do you want? For everyone to have the same phone you do just because you think it's the best one price/performance wise? Give me a break By the way, I wouldn't buy this phone, but the idea is amazing and can't wait to see it out there

  • First congregations to Samsung for this first innovative TABLET.The specifications with reference to gsmArena disclaimer is excellent.3 missing : Audio Jack , Radio plus recording RDS and INFRARED IS repairable .Two unique qualities : 512 internal memory storage plus 8gigs rRAM and 512 gigs memory slot is incredible !!! The first smartphone with 1024 gigs memory Rom + 8 gigs RAM is amazing!!We must wait for complete gsmArena review !Price is 2000 + dollars which in X place in the world is $ 6500 for ultra rich VIP !Happily enjoy it and let us know..,,Thanks mentioned names...

  • Man no you dont. When you dfold it it will be too thick to use on one hand.

  • Does the fact foldable phone is too big for pockets means anything for you??? Also fact that actualy this phone at CES 2019 instead of folding breaks into two.

  • A beast is coming. Say what you want, nothing will beat this. 6 YEARS IN THE MAKING!!! OMG CAN'T WAIT!!! Samsung will definitely CRUSH the competition in 2019. Go Samsung GO!!! #teamsamsungforever

  • oh don't get me wrong, I think the innovation behind it is fantastic, and others are already following Samsung's lead in this. the price was never going to be cost effective for the masses due to the new design and technology involved. I agree that its a niche market for a product like this, as the cost of it excludes so many people. my only issue with this is that its the first of its kind, and no one knows how its going to do, how durable it is, the xiaomi folding phone also looks very good. so im actually hopeful for this product and others like it to succeed, so cups half full pal :)

  • I get your point, but providers already charge £83-93 P/M for an iPhone XS Max with outstanding upfront costs to boot (if you go to the network directly) and people eat it up. This device has a niche market that's already paying over the odds. Forget about the price for a moment - It's still exciting that developing technology like this is becoming steadily more available on the domestic market. Might wanna top up your cup friend, looks half empty.

  • good luck finding a case for this... 1600, plus the cost of the tariff, then insurance. looking at more 3000 to 4000 over 3 years. I'm sure the refurbished model you receive will work perfectly to. just the cost of the phone a month from my company it would be £44.44 then I'm sure you're going to want data, so we will say 20gb? looking at arounf £65-70 then another £10-15 for protection, have fun spending £100 a month.

  • im not the biggest fan of this phone but you will be able to use it one handed... it's foldable!

  • Does the word foldable mean anything to you? -_-

  • 7.3" Expensive Digital Brick. Flexible displays are the future, but not anytime soon. For now its gonna be flop.

  • Man 7,3 inch is tablet or phablet not phone. phone you can put into pockets this thing cant go into a pockets. Phone can be used ionehanded this thing cant be used by one hand no matter what.

  • From when a 7,3 inch screen is a propper phone? This is Phablet, And by the way 10GB ram along with 5G support will add another 300-400 bucks to its final price. Man to be honest with you Poco F1 cost 300 now 280 if a Poco 2 comes to sale for even 350 it will be a proper 2019 phone. This thing is just gadget for tech geeks and people who needs to be im middle of entertaining.

  • After notch is time for foldable display...

  • Now add 10GB RAM and 5G network support and you have a proper 2019 phone.

  • The first touchscreen was expensive and controversial, but now touchscreens are everywhere and there is no other choice but touchscreen. The same thing is going to happen with foldable displays. After that, a device replacing all screened devices would be nice.

  • Is this a new era of mobile phones technology? We will see

  • No aptx HD...!!! Then, no buy

  • Man, this is not what Kyocera did back then, come on! This is not what ZTE did make with that Axon M. This is something never has been done, I don't understand why are you against this, when this is the direction major companies will go. Huawei and LG also have such devices, and you will see others joining them in 2 years, just do not forget what the Master is saying. :D

  • Front camera position while phone in full screen is not symetrys maybe they should us a hole notch, 4.8 inch ? Is it enough good for playing game ?

  • Yes thats true problem is in case of Samsung opeople have range of devices to pick from. In case of apple when they ditched jack they removed it from all their devices. So maybe if they say we make a foldable phone all phones will be foldable and people using IOS wont have other choice just to switch to android or use a foldable phone because they were forced to.

  • Future is near.... Wow to have a folding phone osm

  • Interesting how people bash on everything they don't like. I certainly wouldn't buy this phone nor have use to it, but it's a great innovation to bring this now when lots of brands are competing and adding a phone for someone's taste (Not necessarily yours). I enjoy the fact that my friends might have something crazy like this and not everyone I'm hanging with having the same phone as I do because of it's specs, price and whatnot... People buy stuff, I guess it's hard to comprehend.

  • Well obviously this isn't the first time we've seen foldable screens, but those were just concept phones, this is the real deal. Once Samsung introduces this into the market, Apple will follow up next and so will other OEMs.

  • Can't wait

  • wow..the future is coming..

  • Man its not a future. Back in 2011 Kryocera came with first foldable phone and it wasnt succesfull now others copy Kryocera. Whether they will be or not will be succesfull time will tell but at that price range only tech geek and people who dont care about money will buy. Its definitely not for me even if i can buy 2 of them i rather buy for example Pocophone and give rest of the money to the poor. Its a lot better idea than having a super expensive phablet which does same tricks as my Moto X4 which i currently use.

  • looool... new type of glass... bendable glass obviously... physics is not you strenth I suppose lol lol lol

  • Oh come on, you are too negative! Just chill and wait dude. Huawei and LG also has such devices. This is the future accept it.

  • let me guess. starting at $5000?

  • Now, this is epic

  • With Foldable screen, there is a new type of glass used and this one is in theory shockproof. So with foldable phones the screen protectors will become useless.

  • How to stick on the screen protector, can it folded and retain scratch resistance?

  • CaptShill at it again. The fact it wireless audio is inferior in almost every aspect, too much hassle for little gain (Which may still be important in some scenarios and for some people, but will never be universally practical).

  • no matter how much you guys try to pacify yourselves with those s10 rumors, you got to admit, you'll be lucky to own a futuristic device like this one.Man I'm completely blown away.Though I may not have enough money to afford a beast like this, butut whoever has his room full of dollars should definitely buy this.

  • same reason infrared is gone.. its outdated.. better prepare for wireless headphones

  • you just dont get it.. go read an antiques website..

  • Man its not folding its bending in two according to what i heard from CES 2019 or how they are called. And even if it will folding according to samsung picture you cant carry this thing in pockets. And the case for this??? Impossible.

  • If the innovations means break in two instead of folding then you are very correct. So hats off for Samsung and their non stop flushing of money on a device which will never works properly and have 0 chance of success on the market.

  • Man maybe you dont know but actualy instead of folding this phone always breaks in middle. By the way carrying this phablet in pockets is completely impossible.

  • Why jack its an ancient technology worth good bye forewer. There are tons of a lot better wireless options such as senheiser or Jabra Sport Elite 60T and many more.

  • what? That didn't make any sense..

  • we will have big black strip while watching movies in unfolded mode

  • It is good for most content

  • That price though

  • Most important is Samsung is the first to release a REAL foldable phone instead of half-fk bendable FlexiPai.

  • Raw idea...!!

  • Some type of lift on the opposite side when closed to level out the phone so it isn't as awkward to hold would help. Something that clicks into the phone when fully open and pops out when folded.

  • 16:10 aspect ratio is not good for watching movies .

  • LOL seriously, no jack on a 7.3 phone for 1600 eur? I would't even buy it for 160.

  • The most innovative smart phone for this year!!! Hats off to Samsung! They are working hard to make innovative products.

  • will this gadget be a tablet?!?!?!?!??!?!??!??!?!?!?????

  • Stupid

  • Cool but super-duper expensive. I'll rather have Galaxy S10X ($1499) or the P30 Pro ($???). Also please may we have a moment of silence for the headphone jack.

  • Amazing stuff by samsung - Just love this phontab - i wish samsung great success with this innovation..........

  • Love it! But nah I'll better wait for the s10+ or the note 10.

  • No 3.5mm jack???! Is Samsung out of their mind by not including this as STANDARD?!

  • why would you get this to SHOWOFF? it looks terrible! when you can get a top-of-the-range flagship AND a way more powerful tablet at way less than this COST

  • i am sure most of people but this phone for SHOWOFF.., And that's why people buy this phone at this COST

  • Things that don't exist can cost millions to create, and when suddenly one appears and its unique in everyway and first of its kind will cost a lot more than others in same category. Rich people who has 5 cars 10 houses etc will buy. 10 of these no problem.

  • Why spend a 1600 euro on a 7" fon while you get almost the same but not foldable from huawei mate 20 x with same screen size for around 600 euro Samsung needs to reconsider
