In my country there are silicon protection glass that requires 10 minutes of processing it. It's cheap and it have the best protection available. I am using one of it and it's great. Check on internet and see.

The phone ask you to restart it at least once per week, or every 3-4 days. I got month and a half with my phone and i havent had any issues with it. The only problem ive got, is that i cant find any tempered glass, or cover for it on my city, lmao. Had to get them on ebay.

Has veered my trust away from Sony completely. The handset does not even come with a protective cover. The metal joints at both ends tend to get into an unsightly shape if dropped. Fast charging is okayish. Software feels a bit slow. Music is ok. Camera is below average for this price.

I kept on getting the triangle with tools icon. I think it was 3x already. After I restart it, I got that icon but it will go through restarting the phone. I mean I don't know what's wrong with it. My phone before was z3 and did not encounter anything like this.

I'm a big fan Xperia since my Xperia j... I am very satisfied with Xa2 Ultra in everything except when this pie came out.... I felt something defferent in camera output since I compared it on the previous version... The output picture is quit strange its bad compared to the previous version....plsssss can you fix it I'd like the previous camera settings and output... I'm fun using Sony cameras in mobile photography but since this upgrade I'm not happy by the results....

I bought the phone for it's camera capacity, and I am very disappointed. The rest of the phone is absolutely fantastic, just the front camera doesn't seem to get sufficient light through the lens, if settings are higher than 12MP. In spite of false camera claims, I won't trade the phone for another brand.

I've always used Sony's for mobile, and my XA2 Ultra is absolutely amazing! Only thing is rear camera is terrible in low light photo's, and flash doesn't help. Also now after new update, when I take a landscape screen shot, the side screen buttons pop up and are now in all my landscape screen shots. Please fix guys!

If your phone keeps disconnecting wifi intermittently, it is not the phone but the new default wifi setting in android that asks the phone to switch networks when there is a stronger signal so just turn off that and you will be fine.

Immediately after pie update my touch is not accurate and malfunctions. When i touch the screen in the top half it scrolls down or is completely in accurate.When i lay on my back and keep my fone up facing me. When i sit up or keep my fone in a more natural position its perfect. While on Oreo i had no such issue. Is this just a setting or did the software affect the way a sensor is functioning. New issue alert. I was playing mobile legends then all of a sudden, ghost touch happened and it's on the top side the screen. I searched about it and apparently, others are experiencing it too. I am a user of more than 20 devices of Xperia. Xa2 ultra is working so fine and with some settings it's amazing. I didn't do a software upgrade because my friends with Xa2 devices are not satisfied by 9 yet. Surely Sony will fix it. Mind your crap please!

I am no spy nor paid for bad mouthing. I posted a huge complaint about this phone under the same user name and would like to add the following after properly giving my sony a chance to redeem itself: Specifically regarding the camera: I have noted that whenever a picture is taken the picture looks totally different after rendering. Phone guru friend tried to change settings and it was, concluded the camera is not what it sells to be. Also, when objects are close to the camera the camera blurs the picture out. Not happy with sony.

I will keep a summary of this phone short so that you do not make the same mistake as me when buying: The wifi conection on this phone is the worst of the batch (sat next to other phones when my phone loads and stops or cannot connect as far as theirs) The phone had recent android updates now screen mirroring doesn't work on certain tv's. Also after the latest update google freezes in searches on the main screen. Battery does not last nearly as long as my p9 lite. This post is in April 2019

This phone is really awesome. For a so called mid runner.. Feels extremely well built, has amazing sound through headphones, takes incredible photographs. Front and back camera. It is very fast all around, with a beautiful crisp display. I would highly recommend to anyone wanting a super a quality large phablet. At a very reasonable price. Fast charging. Excellent signal, WiFi and 4g. For me personally I find it faultless.

Terrible phone lags overheats. Camera is terrible low light and when use the flash to help I get a halo effect. Used the phone on a trip to Spain and it just kept overheating... Internet freezing.. Pages lock up.. Really disappointed. My friends Motorola had none of theses problems.. I Did all updates still useless.. What can I say I would not buy another Sony phone just not good enough

I bought this phone last year, December 26. Up until today, even with all the needed updates, this phone's wifi sucks. I'm a casual online gamer and I love moba games. There are other brands of phones here. Samsung, huawei and even an iphone's wifi is stronger. Please, for the love of all that's holy, either buy other brands or buy other sony phones. Don't be insolent! The issues of interrupting WiFi, 4g and Bluetooth, was solved for the zones where the firmware was upgraded. Look for XperiFirm software. After that the device is now working perfectly. So shut up all of you if you don't give a damn about it!

2 words.. "Don't buy". I bought this phone last year, December 26, 2018. After a little over a month, I seem to be having difficulty in connecting to wifi. My other phones doesn't give me this kind of problem ( Lg G3 stylus, samsung j7 prime). XA2 Ultra is a no-no.!

-- DON'T BUY THIS PHONE, HERE IS WHY --- I purchased this phone in a BestBuy store. My phone Service provider is T-Mobile. At first loved the phone: Good display, 6" display, USB-C... However I discovered pretty soon that the firmware does not Allow LTE nor VoLTE, as a result I lost several call (to me) and the quality is pretty poor in weak signal area. Spent lots of time with T-Mobile... and Sony tech support, both finally admitted that theses features, just don't work. I asked Sony if they could update the firmware, to allow enabling LTE and VoLTE by default (like on most phones now!), and it seems that they are not able or willing to do this at this time. I expect a call from t-mobile, but I admit being feed-up with how difficult it is to get this phone fully working: quite a shame... I shall probably return this phone shortly and get another phone...which just work ! Jeffersonian

Also in my case it's other! It have better warranty services and it replace defective devices in case of. Best store in my country. I heard about Amazon to come in the next months. Sadly Sony Center is not to be desired having big prices and bad services. Also Sony Care is not responsive as it should. I hope Sony will solve these by 2019. With very few small exceptions Sony Xperia is a must have smartphone in anybody's pocket. This device too.

For the screen issue use BestDisplayBrightnessLevel app from Play. And stop using its factory ones as much as you can. Same for camera, music and wi-fi. These issues will be solved.

It is not that weak like that crap devices you are giving examples. It's the self system management, cleaning battery consuming that is doing like that. Stop it from settings and and avoid stamina. These are system issues that will surely be solved by an upgrade. The Pie upgrade mostly.

I bought this phone last month and I've been using this for the past 17 days.. I'm starting to see some issues already. First, the wifi. It keeps on disconnecting for about once or twice a day.. If you're thinking that it's my router, well there are four smartphones and two laptops in our house and this phone always gets disconnected even to the point where this is the only device that is hooked tru wifi. Well, it can be remedied by restarting the phone but that kind of sucks especially when you're downloading an app or file.. Second, the screen. It somehow dims itself automatically even when I turned the adaptive brightness off. I don't know if anybody else has experinced that. Well that's it for now. Hope these two are the only issues that this phone has..

Just bought this unit today. I updated every single thing, the apps and the system too. So far, the phone is pretty smooth. Doesn't freeze, connects to wifi immediately, doesn't heatup when playing games. So far so good.

I did't got any flickering in my units (bought 2, dual sim) but both were repaired for some other reasons by flashing with the firmware of another region (United Kingdom - from Central European zone) and then Pc Companion repair. It repaired it, including Bluetooth, freezing and restarting. I honestly recommend to try if it's made by know how. Also if you can't flash it try not to use adaptive brightness and assistant regarding cleaning or battery, sometimes clear audio+ or system sound manager that can be disabled from app manager - may free some errors. I did disabled all and replaced with apps from Play. Some of its factory apps can give some issues. Also you may try activating proximity sensor without using fingerprint, nor power button. Try all these because Sony will change for sure these hidden issues. I personally solve it in some way. It's an amazing fast and cheap device in my country for its class. Good luck!

Got my unit last Oct 11 '18, experienced flickering of the screen and Bluetooth can't connect, it was a factory DEFECTIVE and demanded a replacement of unit. Unit performance in not good.

I had it too, but after a system reset did it well. A future upgrade of system may solve it definitely. I also use a signal booster and system cleaning app to work best. Try and see!

I purchased 1 unit of XA2 Ultra here in Philippines and i received a unit with "Ghost Touch" problem after 5 days purchased. the store doesn't have 7 days replacement warranty as per the Branch Head, what they did was replace the goddmn! LCD and i did not accept that. i want replacement!

the battery lasts longer than similar phones but the repair centre is a nightmare. After several calls tgey agreed to honour the warranty. They said that it would take 2-3 weeks to repair the phone. Thwy received my phone Auhust 1st. By September 10th when I contactef them they couldn't find. y phone. The customer service rep said she would track it down and call me back within 2 days. 2 weeks later and no call. I call again and Im told that this rep will call me back the same day. Its now October and no phone. Beware of Sony Canafa telephone repair.

If you care about battery life, performance and Android support, you should buy XA2 Ultra. Snapdragon has really good performance and it doesn't use much battery. This is why XA2 Ultra has good battery life.

So I got this phone 4 days ago and I'm having trouble with the loud speaker. I was listening to Spotify on high volume but then it fades to a low sound even tho it's still at high. It happens with YouTube too. Another prob is that the sound will just dissappear too when going on YouTube and during phone calls I can't go on speaker mode cause it sounds so light. What can I do?

I'm torn between this and CAT phones since I care about toughness and camera mainly. CAT phones are GREAT but their cameras to me are like jokes with 12/13/16mp. I own an Xperia Z5 Compact right now and I had tons of problems with it and now that the screen got shattered and the repair**** ruined the phone even more I have to buy another one. This h.p battery in Stamina mode is very save Power 🔋. Speaker sound is loud ! Screen colour is beautiful and the camera for picture, video is Best ! But, the reception is not that good . Used this phone for 2 days and returned it : CONS: - Touch interface is not smooth like on Samsung or Huawei phones. Bad touch interface shows when you type text messages. The same google keyboard feels very difficult to type with on Sony phones comparing to top Samsung phone or top Huawei phones where typing with the same google keyboard is Butter smooth just like on iPhone because of a very smooth touch interface. Because of a bad touch interface it is very difficult to type fast with relaxed fingers. Pressure in your fingers and mistake after mistake when typing fast. SONY: you have great phones but touch interface kills it all.

I had faced very bad experience with Xperia Z3. Front glass broken easily and went through very tough situation to locate the customer care and they demanded unreasonably high price to change the glass. I just added some more money and bought a Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime and very happy with it for the past 1.5 years. Never going to by another Sony product in lifetime.

I've been using the phone for a week now and I'm very in love with it. When the bought the phone thinking about the media and gaming experience it will give you, it is definitely a thumbs up. I'm a fan of big and bulky phones so it is definitely a go for me. The bottom-firing speaker is really nice, but I'm having troubles with it when I'm playing games with the device. When you play games and use the phone in landscape, you tend to cover the speaker and somehow muffle the sounds. (but that can actually be fixed by wearing headphones.) When it comes to the camera, i'm not really impressed with the quality of the rear cam (but maybe when i get the hang out of it, i might get better photos. Haha!) When it comes in Wifi Connectivity, I don't get any issues in connecting; however, when you get farther from the source, it wouldn't get the signal anymore. But overall, I'm really in love with the phone. I didn't regret buying it. Quite expensive, but really worth it. Got mine in Blue, it's so pretty!

I own the XA2, not the Ultra. These comments are based on the normal Sony XA2 but its virtually the same design: Battery is awesome but proximity sensor is on the right and u have to specially hold it CLOSE & ON your ear to stop it from turning the screen on. If you don't then the screen comes on and u start activating the speaker or mic controls during a call. Pathetic. The proximity sensor design is so bad that's its a deal breaker. Otherwise the phone is nice. What a pity.

I am using this phone for almost 2 months and I feel great. This is better than other phones within its price range. Nice camera, nice battery life and also good processor. Tho, it is not perfect. It is heavy or bulky. Also, there is a problem connecting to wifi if you are in a room far from the wifi router. But definitely, this is a good phone. I feel good that I bought this phone. Its large screen is good in playing and watching movies, that's why I bought it.

I am using this phone for one week The hardware quality like screen and loud speaker is really impressive. The software is really poor some basic functions are missing like shortcut icons for vibration and silent mode network speed, the smart back-light control never working and the screen continue working even if you put the phone on the table, the applications closed suddenly, the proximity sensor not work well and some times the screen turn on during conversation and you accidentally hang off the call or mute it. The problems still on even after i updated the phone to the last version 50.1.A.10.40 I didn't like the software and i think my previous huawei P8lite software with android 6 is more than better than xperia XA2 Ultra with android 8 If sony didn't plan to fix the software of this amazing phone then it didn't worth to buy it at all.

For me, Sony Xperia XA2 Ultra is the best midranger in the market: 1. It has a very good camera. For the rear camera, its 23 MP can take photos like those flagship phones. Its good already for a midranger phone. Plus, it has 4K video recording, which is rare when it comes to midrange devices. Of course, the quality is insane for a midranger. For the front facing camera, it is actually pretty crisp because of its dual setup. 2. The battery life is amazing. I am usually a heavy user but honestly I was surprised that after hours of gaming and surfing, it still has a decent amount of juice left. 3. Performance may not be as good as those flagship models but it tops when it comes to its midrange counterparts. Gaming is actually smooth. I didn't experience lags at all especially in playing large games such as NBA 2K18 etc. 4. Design is elegant. For some users, they find the design to be old-school but for me, it is truly elegant. The boxy design of Sony gives an impression of a "futuristic-like" look. Aside from this, the design is comfortable to the hands. With its boxy shape and top amd bottom bezels, its is actually comfortable especially in holding the device for gaming and movies. 5. The price tag. Here in the Philippines, it is currently around 20K - 25K (400$ - 450$) which is affordable for a smartphone with such good specs. Trust me, your money is worth it. 6. Audio quality is good and the loudspeaker is pretty loud. It has a clean bass and treble. It also comes with Sony's Clear Audio+ which enhances the overall sound of the device. Overall, Sony has done a pretty good job in XA2 Ultra. Great camera with 4K capability, superior battery life, decent performance (Snapdragon 630), good audio quality, and elegant ergonomics and design is all you get when you buy this phone. Its really worth it! Tip: Although this is a personal preference, I would like to suggest that you buy the Blue color of the phone. It is unique and beautiful! But again, your choice :)

This has to be one of the most pathetic questions I've ever seen. Of course, go for the Mate 10. Better design, better specs (well duh, it'a a flagship), better battery and almost better everything except maybe the UI. I have a friend who's got a Mate 10 and he loved the phone more than his Iphone X, S8 Plus, Iphone 7 Plus and the Galaxy A8(still a midranger, but still better than XA2 Ultra). Too bad he sold it for a P20 Pro but still, Sony midrangers are not good at all and you're better off with the Mate 10. If you want a Sony then go for their flagships and I rock a Sony right now.

So here is my short review of xperia XA2 Ultra compared to my previous XA Ultra: 1. You will be disappointed with the camera because it is worst than the old XA ultra. If you try out the camera, you will notice the distinct difference straight away but come on, having used Sony smartphones before, since when is its XA smartphone camera ever good? I can't remember any. 2. Music quality, worst than XA Ultra but if you adjust the audio setting to studio or whatever, it will improve a bit but overall, it will have that unclear tone to any music you play. (hard to describe it but it is like putting a piece of cloth between the speaker or your earpiece while listening to your favourite music.) 3. It is true for those comments below that state that its highest volume is lower than previous XA smartphone's highest volume but from what I have experienced, it is at least 20% reduction. Just view it as saving your ear. 4. Its OS is Oreo so you cannot transfer your app to SD card like its previous OS 7 nougat. 5. Somehow, with my old phone (nougat OS) which runs apps on SD card faster than Oreo which runs app from internal memory. (O.O)??? 6. Battery is long lasting but somehow it seems that performance has been tuned down a bit to allow that to happen as I have mentioned in point 5 regarding its performance. My old phone drains battery at moderate rate and last about 1.5 hour plus on graphic-intensive game. This phone last twice or thrice as long but game loading could be few seconds lag but overall is still acceptable. So if you are extremely or quite particular about the music quality, you may forget about it. If you can tolerate about 20% drop in volume plus music quality, then it is still an attractive mid-range priced smartphone. Plus, try to either get brown or blue color. Its black color is not glossy from what I have seen and though that doesn't mean that the rest is glossy but at least less unattractive than pale black color which you see underneath some of your laptop.

same problem here. Wifi signal is horrible. Call quality and cellular reception is ok. but I can't use wifi properly in my home due to frequent drop of signal. Even my Xiaomi Max 2 has superb signal strength in terms of wifi. Poor Sony. You spoiled a good phone and lost a fan here. I am selling it.

I bought this phone 1 week ago after 2 Motorola phones (Moto G 2nd and 3rd) from Freedom Mobile in Canada. The wifi antenna is very weak. The signal drops after getting a short distance away from the router. The number of detected wifi networks are also much less than those which are being detected by my old phones. I feel guilty for betraying Motorola.

Bought this phone 7 days ago. Till now I would say the most promising side is battery life and call quality. In ear voice is clear and crisp and soothing. Doesn't give a metallic sound like Chinese brands. Display is good too. Camera I would say average. But selfie is better. Design wide, its good to hold in one hand due to its loop design. Looks nice in the new blue color which I purchased. A great midrange phone for long lasting use I must say. Sony phones do lasts longer than other androids.

Hi guys, I am from Malaysia, just received my unit last Friday. Very very satisfied with it. Have not touch any Sony's phone for the past 3 years, used to own Xperia P (which I hated it a lot) before I change to Zenfone 2. This model caught my attention when it is on pre-order, and somehow I just ordered it without even thinking twice and was very very worried if I had made a wrong decision. Overall it is very responsive, the interface is clean and simple. The fingerprint sensor is also very responsive, sound quality is great (the only thing that I miss after I ditched my old Xperia P). not to mention camera quality (overall looks great, I am not that kind of person who zoom in to pixels), give good quality image even under low light condition. For those who are considering it, yeah, I think it is worth the price.

You are comparing apples to oranges. Xiaomi is good in their own merit, but their phones are only targeted to those in China, to those in third world countries, or to those who are comfortable with buying online (which is not a lot). From what I see, Xiaomi isn't going to sell their phones to the western market anytime soon. In Canada and the US, most consumers buy in-store like BestBuy, which means they are only restricted to mainstream phone brands such as Apple, Samsung, LG, Google, Sony and HTC. Amongst all the mainstream brands, I believe Sony phones stand out the most. Their hardware design is very unique imo and does not follow the smartphone trends, which is good.

You can make bokeh effect with almost every sony xperia smartphone. You just need to download one app from the store. It is called background defocus. It is made for Xperia smartphones. After you install it, you will find it in your camera apps menu. The app is very useful and does what it's meant to do!

I was very sensitive to decoding of 24-bit 192KHz! I know XA2u has no an option to decoding high resolution or gyro.. I do want XA2u to these reasons: huge battery capacity (about 3500mAh in Sony's mobile = 6.5k ~ 7k mAh ) Jack headphones/earphones, 6" IPS LCD (I don't trust to Amoled yet!) IMO, XA2u has great look and finally aptX HD is really great option for me I hope to seeing android P in XA2u in future 8/10 is my score..

Just go for xa2 or xa2 for sure... It has a-long-lasting battery life than previous gen and of course GREAT CAMERA... I'm not suggesting you to pick xiaomi, besides the lower version of QUALLCOMM SD 625, i have a bad experience with xiaomi devices (i'm used to have MI5 PRIME, yeah... It's quite nice phone in the beginning and then it start to hot easily, even when i just browsing... Not gaming... And it has a problem in the home button after i use for 3 weeks like a fingerprint is suddenly gone for no reason. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. Then i sold that phone) Never in SONY... now i'm stay in my Z5... REALLY LIKE AND LOVE THAT PHONE... just a little bad in battery life cuz unefficient power hungry SD 810... If you are looking in performance, than go for xperia x performance or xperia xz for sure... The price are already drop and Both are IP 68 WATER-RESISTANT... Hope it help you

They could have included snapdragon 636 rather than the snapdragon 630. Am using this xperia X model with the snapdragon 650. Man OS is made by android i mean google it have nothing to do with Sony. Update is provided by Sony but all work to make oreo comes to Google and people who making it. After sale service depends on country. For example if you live in North Korea i will hardly believe you will have any phone at all from any brand. Some goes for countries from for example Micronesia, Polynesia etc. In my country for example we have problems with services for like 60 different brands. Only a company i work for sells over 40 different brands. Sony is good but a bit pricey same like apple or samsung. As i said abobve we havent problems here in Slovakia with repairing phones like oukitel, Doogee and some other brands which not many people know. My Lenovo Vibeshot is 2,5 years old and still works as a brand new so the reliability depends on every user and how he care and treat his phone. Rest is pure speculation. At this point every phone manufacturer is trying their bet to compete with specs, speed, gimmicky features and more. To me, that's fine, I look a little more deeper. I don't buy Sony for its looks, specs and how fast it can open Google Chrome, I buy it because I've liked, enjoyed and have a strong emotional bond that i can't find with other phone manufacturers. owning xa1 ultra, you get used to the size. pocketwise it fits in jeans and bid pockets but not in slimfits or body hug apparel. battery wise is above average even if its only 2700 mah. camera is great in daylight. nighttime shots are above average, they are good, but cant keep up with the best. use fv-5 or open camera to get best pictures.

The chipsets are one generation behind after new Snapdragon 670 and 640 released. Sony should at least give 660 not 630. 630 is not much difference with 625. 2017 with 630 while other brands give 670 at the same price with this phone. At least fixed back the price! Sony did not release the official price yet because they are still gauging people's reaction. Remember how the price jumped by about 30+% from the original XA to the sequel XA1? The way people are somehow overhyping the XA2, another price jump is imminent. But personally, if the XA won't be priced higher than $330, it will definitely have a fighting chance, sales-wise, against the trendy 18:9 midrange phones from Chinese brands.

It is interesting to notice that Sony has divided user opinion for quite some time. They found a design they (and frankly myself too) like and stuck with it. Personally, I'm very fond of Sony's build quality and design, but can appreciate public opinion that they tend to overprice devices. The same can be said of many phone manufacturers; Apple and Samsung come to mind. Then again, you get what you pay for. On a different note, I've noticed that Sony listened to public opinion and have rectified some device shortcomings. For one, the forehead and chin bezels are much smaller on the new devices (if they're removed all together, Sony devices will end up looking identical to Samsung and the rest), the battery has been enlarged dramatically, they're on board with Corning Gorilla Glass and the like. This in my opinion is important, for a company to fix their device shortcomings in the next iteration. I'm excited to get my hands on this device in South Africa, especially if the price stays on par with last year's offering. Sony is carving themselves a niche in the mid-range market, which is good news for buyers who want a dependable device with flagship-like features on a budget. In my honest opinion, this might just be it.

Most people don't use the 960FPS camera. And mostly would do selfie a lot. So in terms of usage. Not everyone uses slow mo on smartphones. And that 4k display is already old and it already exist 2 years ago. The evolution that I'm talking about are as follows: 1. Dual camera system. With improved LED flash brightness. 2. Heatsink technology. For the processor and the camera IC. 3. fingerprint sensor on the screen. Instead on the back or on the side of the unit. 4. When designing a 6 inch tablet. The battery should be bigger not smaller. 5. Thicker phones for thicker battery life and more components inside. 6. Improved speaker design and relay. Which could be a triple or quadruple stereo speaker system. 7. Wireless charging. And quick charging. Stop using QNOVO. 8. Start using 64GB on all models. And should have bigger internal storage offer up to 256GB of internal storage. 9. Start making OLED phones so that it could be supported by daydream VR. 10. Increase screen size of the flagship from 5.5 to 5.7. And from 6 to 6.5 inch sony android smartphone. This 10 list that I'm talking about is what sony is missing. Which is why it isn't selling well. So that 960FPS is a pure gimmick. While the 4k display is old fashioned. Without any optimized apps for 4k display. What's the use of it? Look at the razer phone. From the technological standpoint. Sony should have done something better for the XA ultra with the following specs: 1. Use and OLED display. 2. Should have two speakers at the bottom of the unit which gives it a triple speaker system. And also should've been stereo speakers. 3. From the 6 inch perspective.
