My first phone, 9.5 years old and still working. Very strong case, was dropped many times, but works, works and works. After almost 10 years of usage battery lost approx. 1/3 of initial capacity. The phone was used as a main phone for 5 years and then became replacement phone due to nokia6300 appearance on the market which was thinner and ligher, but same strong and have been working for 5 years till now. My N500 also has a ringtone that my wife composed for me as a birthday gift using built-in ringtone editor. STUPDPHONE RULES FOREVER!!!

This phone was one of my best phone which I have ever used. Although at that time this phone didn't have radio, it was the best phone beating Nokia 3310, 8250, 3330, and etc.Its menu appearance was the best. Even until now, if you compare this phone to the new phone which has the same basic features like monochrome graphic, non-polyphonic ringtone and etc, it will be the best choice. I had ever used Nokia 2100, Siemens M35i, and Samsung N500 as well. The conclusion is this phone was the best of two other phones. I'll never forget his phone ever after.

Very strong fon there, slamed it on the floor one too many times, but still worked after all. What i liked about it the most was the Voicemail feature on the phone. u dont need no network charging you for voicmail with this fon...

My very first phone, I don't even know in what year I got it. Back in the days I chose this phone as an alternative to the Nokia 3300 or 3400 everyone had. I felt for its stylish metallic look (which from then on, was a stayer for Samsung) and its neat blue backlight. Of course it's not all romance when looking back. The phone has terrible buttons which you sometimes need to press quite hard to get feedback from them. With sms messages longer than the screen, the screen didn't move down but to the right of the screen, making the message extremely unreadable. Most of all, I missed four directions on the directional button instead of two. Quite strange, because back then there wasn't a single affordable phone with a four-way pad an its operating system didn't need one either. I guess even more than being my sweet first phone (with a terrible intern antenna after I dropped the machine twice), the N500 was a base for my thoughts how phones could improve.

Insane phone its enourmously strong. All power i have trwo up then he fall dwon ant nothing. The only thing killed him is air gun shot to the monitor. Keybord shot, battery and back weren't killing him :D

Phone Sucks at times... Yes!!! once it falls or slips to floor... it starts respondn to incoming calls as switched off!!! That means the caller will be told by the service provider that phone is switched off.. although phone at your end will be showing everything proper!!

well i have this fone for 3.5 yrs..i loved its user friendly software and menus.following r the positive points user frindly,battery reliability, light weight,soothing sound,looks,easy to handle and keep, but from last month i m facing a truoble network ,, signal shows full network even if there is weak signal, sometimes call can not be completed, broken voice,i recommend not to buy this.service is important not looks.nokia fone is wonderful..go for nokia..robust,reliable..and ofcourse connecting ppl..thats true..a real freind..

Out of the masses of phones I have had, and some fairly high spec ones, this has got to be one of my favourites. Samsung oulled no gimmicks here. It did exactely what is said on the box, is light and looks great. Something you don't really get now- a phone that may not have absolutely everything on it, but still looks awesome (where is the styling on the new low series nokia phones?). This phone lasted me for ages, and my mum has it now...the battery has also never failed me unlike countless nokias.

Had this phone for three years before it stopped working. the battery was still going strong but it wasnt reliably recieving txt messages and phone calls. Can't complain though as i gave it dogs abuse. Have since bought a modern nokia, which isnt as well designed as this old phone was.

This phone fails after about a a year of use. It has transmission problem, very severe. I have seen a whole lot of them at repair shops awaiting spare parts. I was told that they were recalled... ? Very good phone, otherwise, I really loved it.

I'm sorry I bought this phone.... So far I had nothing but trouble with this phone. It spent all together about 60 days at service, and it still doesn't work as it should. I lost faith in Samsung phones because of this, and that is sad because they are very nice.

Ring tones are softer (which I like). one of the great things I like about the phone is the answering machine built into the phone which allows the caller to record a message in the phone itself.

In the "Voice Active" command, either "Voice Dial" or "Voice Command" can be selected at a time. It will be better if both "Voice Dial" and "Voice Command" can be activated using the upper and lower soft keys, respectively. The keypad light is not as bright as that of R220. Why? Don't you hnow is very good for the old eyes. I will like to use this opportunity to request for the complete catalogue of your handsets. Thank you.

I have recently purchased this phone. I was a bit double mined while comparing it with Panasonic GD75 and Sony Eric. T120 but just before finalising I put my SIM and had a feel of voice quality. Samsung N500 has very good quality as compared to both GD75 and T120 though both of these phone have some good features but those features can not be compromised with the voice quality. So go for the feature for which the phone is made and that is the voice quality and not all those extra features .. speaker phone .. joystick , light weight and all. Over all this phone is excellent phone in its price.

Hi. this phone is very good...but there is some prob with the software. Sometimes it shows junk on the screen when clock mode is activated. Also while charging sometimes it hangs.. and needs to be rebooted ;) by removing the back cover.

Great phone overall. Only gripe is that the internal vibrate cannot function while ringing. It vibrates first, then rings second. Love the answerphone feature, goodbye to voicemail!

Samsung N500 all features was satisfied except that not able to have Chinese Language support. In Spore, most are Chinese so this suppose to give better sale if it equip or able to upgrade the chinese language here. Is disappointed to know the warranty will be void if I upgrade the chinese ver with vendor!

just got the phone. return it next day because vibrator almost non existant, number of rings is 3 if combo with vib , so way too short, no auto pickup with ear phones, menus are easy to understand but too long, too many steps to do before reaching what U want.

you can actually receive Ringtones from let's say a nokia however you cant receive any of the preset ones so why not get a friend with a nokia to download some cool ringtones and get him/her to send them to you that way you get cool ringtones and they are free! I should know IVE DONE IT...

back again just read the opinins page. i got ringtones from virgin page on the net. ( it costs alot) when you order one the voice will ask you what make of phone at the end press the number for not known or just hang up my tune still came through. good luck no promises mind.

This is a nice phone. 10/10 for looks. Difference between R220 and N 500 is that N 500 has Voice Dial/Command/Memo.. It has 200 phone book entries...the info about the dial/missed calls on this site is incorrect. It can store 20 15 15 I think.. At least more than what this site specifies..The looks are killing no antenna which was the weakness ..of R220. Samsung has done a good job .but u cant send ringtones in neither R210/220 or N500...Overall i am a proud owner of this phone go and get it..,

I am an owner of a Samsung N500 and i think its GREAT! Its a real nice phone. I had been looking for a phone for ages and it suddenly caught my attention when looking through an Argos catalogue and i knew that that was the phone that would suit my personality and me. Its a great phone. Its really nice and light and it doesnt hav an ariel which makes it look smart and all the buttons light up in the dark. Its great. I couldnt be more pleased with it. Thanks
