@ RAMMI look 4 the nearest service center, then tell them the problem of ur fone... they will change the mic of ur unit., after that its good as new....

the AM band is surprisingly good< DSP AM stereo is a delight to listen to here in Australia which has wideband AM stereo available.my one used to switch itself off too,but the local sony erricson support centre fitted a new board and fixed it.would be really nice to have a card slot. battery life was ok on mine.AM band is able to be switched to 9 or 10 kHz steps. covers from 522 to 1720 kHz.got mine to listen to the AM radio. like all of these phones, the "enhancement"ie.earphne lead has to be fiied. Someone nicked mine in NZ. I miss it!

Well this phone is very handy but first it really needs improvements it can be difficult to open at times because of the designed and one of the most important thing everyone is looking for is a memory slot also not forgetting you dont have to write up big and bold in front of the phone that fm am radio that should be in the manual are not were any body can see that it make the phone looks cheap it should be in side are hidden just only the owner knows that it is fm am radio

My auntie from Hongkong brought this phone and she give it to me, As I notice the phone, the graphics, images, keypads and the design are very nice but it seems like there is lacking to this phone. It should have a Memory Slot in order easy to transfer picture of personal computer... And I hope it would be upgraded from the company in order to be grateful in terms of transferring and downloading data... Its nice!

I bought this phone just over 13 months back. LAst week I noticed there was a problem with the phone - the icons for missed calls and new sms's were displayed on the home page but i was not able to access them. I was also not able to reply to existing sms's and had to instead type out a new sms and add the sender to it. Thinking it was a software problem, I showed it to the SE service centre (SC) who did a master reset and said that the problem is fixed. However it has reappeared and now the SC is saying that it is a motherboard problem and that nothing can be done. Can anything be done about it ? Or do I buy a new phone ?

purchased this dirt cheap, have been quite pleased with it. There's no memory card slot, so no music player or easy transfer of pics to pc. I like: small, very nice design (with metal inner case), nice key design (and easy to touch) I disliked: if you don't transfer your sim card contacts it will not read them on the phone, no notch to easily open the phone (need to use your nails)

When you have a phone with a price tag as this, i say don't expect to much from it. If you want a good camera resolution, i say buy Cybershots. If you want good mp3 results, buy a walkman. This costs P2800 here in the Philippines, about $50-$60. Very cheap. So What you're paying for is the looks and the good BASIC quality like texting and calling. If you want good mp3 and camera, i say spend more than $50 and buy yourself a more expensive ones. What SE aims for this phone is for the masses to get a nice looking phone in a very low pricetag. Dont complain, cause you should've bought a more expensive phone if you wanted MORE. Just my 2 cents.

when we choose looks over features you get stuck with phone such as this. i would have read a hundred reviews before getting this cell and yes most werent very appealing but this the whole aura of having a clam shell model at a budget for my first phone seemed like the best thing to do. yes it was noticed buy all my friends and given rave comments for its looks. but sadly camera >> i rate it a 0.5 /5 as its terribly difficult to take gud pics an on screen resolution is worse ( so you actually know how the pics come out only on computer) radio >> it has a decent radio and a cool loud speakers but im not a radio person and i lost out on that experience too memory>> memory is so low that sometimes it just KILLS you when you have to delete your inbox to accept more messages( to me hardly 20 -30 was the inbox limit) you cant put music... you can just put mp3 ringtones ( which also maybe hardly 2-3 as the memory isnt enough) phone clarity>> many a times my phone just freezes while making a call ... and invariably i have to call twice each time. call list>> the call list sometimes just dosent update making it difficult to track your last call or saving your friends number when he gives you a missed call. after many attempts at the service center and setting right some problems like encrpted messages in inbox ,missing messages or appearance of old deleted messages or mix match of message senders names some problems never stop. overall an utter waste of 5200 ( it was so much when i got it) and i really cant wait to get a better cell experience from another new cell as i have had enough with this!

This phone is not expensive i purchasd it for rs3000 in this budget the phone is nice, have cool features but the phone quality is poor. for the long term usage of phone sony should provide the better quality plastic on phone.also the flap is too heavy looks like the maximum weight is provided on the flap..the memory of this phone is too low its only 5mb..over all the phone is nice but a person cant use this poor quality product for a long time

My Real Experience with R306 1. No ergonomics in using the flip 2. Camera lens are not properly placed, u wont feel comfort while clicking 3. When camera is provided, there should have been an optional memory card. This itself is a big wrong design decision. 4. Speakers are waste, u can not use them 5. Its just 3days, I purchased this handset., and the charger already started heating up. 6. All together, you will feel bad about your decision, if u go for this model.

uhmm, as a fellow user of this phone, i really do not enjoy it, after 2 months of having it, my battery dies out within a day ! i charge it all night and then in the morning it says "100%" but then by the time its afternoon, i've got around "10%". This has really annoyed me, so i went to get it fixed. Right now it is in repairs, and i am not planning on keeping it, im giving it to my mother hehe.. & i am going to replace it with the LG KP 500 cookie. so if your thinking of buying this phone, PLEASE DON'T you will most likely regret it ! byee

I don't think it would have cost a lot to put in a M2 card slot, to be honest. I'd pay a bit extra if this phone had one. 4mb is WAY too low... 1.3mp pictures soon fill that space :/ And having stereo speakers seems like a wasted opportunity for what could be a good little Mp3 player!

hi i am using this dummy phone which i bought 1 week back and it's of no use. bcoz when u make a call to anyone most of the times i am unable to hear the dialer tone and all of a sudden the dialled guy attends the call and i have reloaded the mobile software from the authorised sony ericsson center but invain. the same old problem and the authorised sony ericsson center guys informed him if the problem persists pls replace the mobile. i don't know what is the exact problem? can u pls help me in this concern. and even the battery is of the worst one and i need to charge it twice in a day; once after listening the radio for about 10mins half of the battery will be get discharged. suggest me how to overcome these barriers with this phone.

memory is low and the battery is *terrible*.... nowhere near the advertised 410 hrs. of standby, not even 10% of that. Must charge it everyday. We have two of these, and they are both the same in terms of bad battery performance. Other stuff is ok for a lower-end phone like this one. Bluetooth works well.

The loud speaker really is "loud" as it like it's not coming from a cell phone but of course sound quality of the loud speaker was'nt that crisp but then again it's clear..this cant be use as a "speaker only" of any device, if you prefer to store more music why not try the W-Series or walkman phone. :)

I bought this phone and got the man at the phone store to unlock it so that i can use it. I got home and put some credit on it. After I did that i went to the phones internet to see my balance. Phone is good for listening radio, having stereo loud speakers, shape is also good in flip style, but memory is too low with 1.3 mp camera, which should be 20mb minimum .Sony Ericsson should look into matter that mobile having mp camera and mp3 ringtones 5mb memory is not sufficient.

All talking about how bad the "phone" is missing memory or memory slot. But the phone in essential is (was) a device to make a call and to receive calls. :) Of course, it seems kinda stupid that you can make only 25 pics with this camera, but hey, i think no one is satisfied with 1,3 MP quality pics as well in 2008, so what's the use to make 250 or more bad quality pics? So, the other features are added to the "phone" just from the habit and because you cannot market a phone without a camera and mp3 support. Simple as that. And you know - if Sony would make a phone that suits everybody, then there would be no need to produce other models, right? So, it's all in balance - those who like to listen to the radio and use the phone as a phone and not much like a multimedia hi-end device, will probably consider buying it.

just to let you all know,that I have been playing the am radio for 2 days continuos now and battery is down to 8%.There is no way any other phone can last that long playing mp3 music.Thats why i dont care about memory because there are plenty of stations to listen to and cover most songs i like both AM/FM. Also to give a example of loudness,useing bass boost on speaker phone'my neighbour heard it from 15 metres away.

Hi all,believe it or not.After having most phones on the market at a value of about $3000 i have gone backwoods,(at first thought) and bought the R306 and found it to be excellent for the money,$99 .Great sound,great struture and really,not bad looking.love the Am\Fm radio no more transfering mp3 music, just flick through channels.It makes and receive calls.I am past all the fancy features.Well done sony/ericsson i might actually save money for once.

I had this phone for a week, but eventually had to have it replaced. The reception of it's AM radio was extremely poor in spite of that awfully large headset/antenna contraption. In spite of it's having "stereo speakers" the sound was also way below average. The K530i I exchanged it with sounded way much better. The R300 with it's large speaker probably sounds better. But the real deal breaker was in sending SMS. The phone would inexplicably hang then quit working on occasion during the sending of SMS. Overall, I was extremely disappointed with the R306. Maybe I had a defective unit, who knows? One thing's for sure, I am not recommending this phone. Best stay away, get an R300 or something else instead.

This model infact suitable for those music lovers - but the point is you only can listen the music from radio not thru' the music files that you can save in the memory card... 5MB is too little (which has not deduct the usage for phone book, smses,pictures....). Just add an 0 onto the internal memory (to make 50mb) and that would have been fine for this handset. 5mb is way too low.

the mp3 player is only for ringtones playback, plus it wont hurt if they support mp3 player. bout the camera, its 1.3 mp which means the size of the picture on average is around 200 kbytes, meaning u can save 250 pics at least!

another lame phone from a once mighty manufacturer :( if they gave this phone a micro SD slot or more internal memory it might be worth considering, but at the moment the fact it has decent speakers is wasted cause there's no space for music! it has a radio. woopdee-freakin-doo, so does every phone in the last 10 years. besides, is that what people with decent inbuilt speakers really want to do? listen to the radio?! don't make me laugh. to cap it off this phone is ugly as sin. nuff said. lets hope SE wakes up again soon and that this is the final skidmark in their massive shit stain of recent releases. if they don't start making cool phones again these guys will be out of business in 5 years, I promise you.

Based upon my limited and humble knowledge, I shall opine that this is an excellent piece for a flagship -- a twofold flagship, to be precise. A folder phone with a new type of external display and a radio -- both AM & FM -- phone. The external casing design too is absolutely fresh in the cell market. So please,let's quit whining about low built-in and absent extendible memory. Frankly speaking, contradicting the popular Finnish brand's GPS navigational "bricks" with sluggish GSM connectivity and eternal power hunger -- I prefer to enjoy the ride-n-radio in a city where I don't know the roads and let the driving be done by somebody who knows the from-to-from route. So much for GPS, eh??!! No offense meant -- but people do make policies under the influence of their contries' climates, right? Does the European chill compress human emotions too? Or is it something like 10 CC of water "grows" into 11 CC of ice and so brain "grows" under sub-zero temperature? In a country like India -- where more than 200,000,000 people earn less than 15 Rupees a day -- those GPS toys are truly cruel jokes and/or ruthless money-press.
