i have had this phone for some time now its a great phone never had any serious issues the cam takes nice pics just a shame it dont have a flash but i dont take many pics so not really bothered i have found the music sounds really good and for me i find the phone really easy to use as for the internet i only tried it for a few minutes not really interested in using internet on the phone much apart from when i need to check an email quick but now have decided to use the phone as a modem so i hope its going to be a quick connetion on my laptop as its 3G or that HASDPA service i think it should be as quick as my USB modem but all in all its a great phone and this phone i think i have had the longest than any other phone

i hv been using 3years and 2 months on this model.. No complaints with keypad, battery.. Changed the sliding strip once. Now the charging port is out of order :( dona, u can take ur pics either thru USB cable (must hv enabled mass storage mode b4 screen got crushed, i dont know wat u did).. Then anothr way is to remove memory card frm the phose insert in Card reader(sony M2 memory card reader), plug into USB and recolect all the datas.

I have this phone and last night it did something awful. I was trying to send a text message and the the screen froze, which actually happens a lot. So, as usual, I took the battery out and turned it back on. When it came back on it had erased everything except my pictures. My calender was empty, my contacts were gone, all of my text messages were gone and for some reason whenever I push the internet button the phone shuts itself off. It now won't let me access almost anything on it. It won't let me send text messages, it won't let me add any contacts, it won't let me make notes, plus many more things. The only thing it will still let me do is make and receive calls. Thankfully, I am just now eligible for an upgrade. I know they don't make this phone anymore, but if you are planning on buying it on Ebay, don't. I've spent most of my day talking to cell phone reps trying to see if there was anything that could be done for it and there isn't. Not even the master reset worked. So whatever you do, do not buy this phone.

Well, i've had this phone for 2 years straight and to be hosent, it's more than enough. The call qualiaty and internet speed are awesome. The double speakers sound like an actual stereo when you put it near your face. The GPS is actually more realible than a cheap tomtom... i approve, lol. The battery also served well. The camera is pretty decent for ''capturing the moment'', even tough it dosent have auto focus and is only 3mpix camera it's able to make decent pictures. I've had some acctidents with the phone, it fell in a pool (yay my clumsy self), after that the cover melted under a lamp, the phone was not harmed at all, except the cover at all.

It got an easy interface that might impress the user . The design handsets and the software included is quait good. This phone is not integrated for web IM or or use advance app, in the other side it's cool on phoning with clear voice or texting. some useless features on this phone is game controller sensor cuz it's not really handling well.. The M2 Memory Card is sensitive so be careful !! error files can damage The GPS on W760 is stunning and working in best preforms " depending on your ISP" In the End of the line Don't buy this phone, but it's cool if it's a gift...

Memory Card isn't safe, always pops out. Fastport gets dirty and damaged fast. Bad keyboard, bad antenna. Excellent mp3-player and audio, though.

I had this phone for 1.5 years,and it completely gave up on me.The arrows and menu does not work anymore (however i am not a heavy user);music kept on stopping even after software update. Otherwise it has nice design,and handy to use,great handset.Depends on what you want - it is not your choice if you dont use all the features of the phone,as it is expensive to buy it just for texting and phoning.

I thought i was the only one who had this problem. I'm very careful with my W760 but the universal connector stopped working with my usb cable and headset, then finally about two weeks ago the entire port came out when i was disconnecting the cellphone from the charger. This never happened with my K310 or K750...

I had bought w760 as soon it was in the market (bought it for 15k). I was disappointed with the camera as it didnt have auto focus and also was disappointed with the ear phones.. The music didnt play well within 4 days of I bought so gave it for repair. They took 20 days and made hardware replacement. Then I had battery issues, again gave it for a repair, took 13 days and again worked only for few days without problem. Even with one more h/w replacement and even battery socket changed this didnt work properly. After 8 months I wanted it to sell but it was worth only 3k. This is a waste mobile.. Pls Pls dont buy this.

the solution to your problem would reflash software of phone or update it ,and it should wont be doing this crazy things like in your phone,my fast port is worn out so i can't modding until i repair it :/ but i love this phone is better than w595i mine's color black and yelow :)

I've had this phone for about 8 to 9 months so far and for the first bit, I loved it, but here are some extremely disappointing problems I now have: -Flimsy plastic case has many new gaps -Phone often turns off then turns back on, but the vibration DOESN'T work when it comes back on, and I've missed a few calls and texts as a result!!! -Rarely, the screen appears black, white and staticky, meaning I have to turn it off and back on! -Phone freezes frequently while I'm trying to type text messages, which can be super-frustrating -Camera sucks because of no autofocus If anyone has had any of these problems with this phone and has a solution, let me know!

I got the W760i now since about half a year and loved the design, camera, walkman feature etc. BUT: this thing also has major flaws: the battery life is ridiculous. Even after applying the sofware update (as suggested by Sony) it barely lasts 2 days in 2G mode with 50% brightness setting and standby. The case already broke a little at the bottom, consequence of a way to thin plastic case. Bottom line - if it would be done right, it would be a nice phone - but it wasn't.

A great phone when it works, but...I've had two (!) of these phones and they both broke. Physically the phone is not well made. First, the keypad is very flat and soft. If you text a lot you'll find it's hard to locate buttons, especially if your hand is large. On both phones the charger recepticle disconnected and fell inside the phone, rendering the phones useless. The camera, however, is great, and takes nice photos in daylight conditions. And it's a stylish slider. But it's just too flimsy.

The W760 is a very good phone, but the only problem is the battery- it has awful battery life, not even 1 day with normal use! Everything else is very good though.

I do not recommend this phone,I've had it for a year and a half now, and although I loved the design,the camera ,the media player and the internet browsing experince, I had to change the charging base in the phone not 1 not 2 but Three times! it's getting frustrating and I have to wrap the charging wire several times around the phone so it will connect to the base and start charging! I also changed the internal speakers once too! I have friends who have other Sony Ericsson phones that lasted for years,but it seems this model is defected!

Okay, so, i have been using this phone for about a month or two, my little sister has let me borrow it. It was lagging one day and going slowly, any other time that i have experinced this problem i have turned it off and back on. When i did it one day, i turned it off, and when i went to turn it back on it vibrated, the screen that says at&t came on, and then it vibrated again and kept going from the screen lighting up. and then going off, then it vibrating again and the keypad lighting up and just kept doing this.. so now it will come on, but you can't see the screen nor use it.. anyone have this problem? or am i the only one? any suggestions?

Well, I'm on my third handset since July, so the quality is not so good, but the current one is working well. In terms of features I love it. 8gb of memory for pictures and songs. Active sync so my gmail and calendar are always up to date, plus push mail of course.(I debranded the phone, but AT&T replaced both prior handsets immediately when I had a problem) I like the software and the size of the phone, and it looks good. I've had this phone for 2 years, altrough it fell in the pool and then it fell on the grill(Oh yea i'm a clumsy person), the case was melted but it ran fine.I've never serviced it. So i wouldn't really say it's a bad built phone, altrough the GPS signal is weak and the software isnt wery smooth, i'd say it's a good phone.

I had this phone for a year. At first I thought it was good but it wasn�t. I had the same problem, the screen keeps shutting down. After a while, it can�t read my memory card. I had it checked and they told me that there�s something wrong about the program and there�s a risk that it would return again if I had it fixed.

i have same problem like samantha. the screen keep on blinking, front keypad drop Rm60 to install the new one. it cant show the last number that i dial on the screen and sometimes it shut down by itself..its look solid but actually it quite fragile..lagging is the most that i experiance..

This phone is one of the poorest quality Sony Ericsson phone I've ever come across. It lags a lot and many time will not function properly. I dropped it a few times and 2 of the keypads cease to function. I had them repaired for $50. After that, the phone would also not log all my calls. Sometimes I would have a missed call and yet there would not be any alerts to inform me. In addition, it hangs very often as well. It is overall an okay phone with basic functions, however, it is of poor quality and not durable at all. The music player is also not fantastic. It is not easy to find a song.

To make an mp3 song a ringtone, you have to 'debrand' your phone. Most likely, the carrier you brought it from(ATT for me) packed it with alot of restrictions and their other marketing junk like gps, email, and what not. Here's the site that helped me out alot. Hope you like. oh, and even after you set your favorite mp3 to ringtone, you would still have to edit the song to make the phone only ring the part that you want. Otherwise if you choose a song with a long intro then you'll only hear the intro instead of the, lets say, your favorite chorus line. ya dig?

Ok, You said you broke the charger thing on your phone, right? Well, I did the same thing (I have ATT). Hopefully you bought insurance. I did. Now, I called the insurance place and they said that they can't replace it because it just happens. So I hung up called again and lied that when I plug my phone into the computer it doesn't detect it! I told them my friend has the same phone and he can do it. I tried it on his comp, my comp and still nothing. They'll send you a new phone...but this is only if you have ATT insurance, for sure. btw they'll have you trouble shoot through the phone. I lied the whole time through saying that I plugged the phone into the comp. If you can convince them that the phone is 'faulty' and NOT broken, they'll send you a new one.

I have had a few Sony Ericsson and I have to say this is the worst that I have ever get. The restarting part didn't happen often to mine, but this phone keeps re-directing incoming call to the voicemail after only 1 or 2 rings and there is no option to choose how many rings before it get forwarded. This is so frustrating as no matter how fast I try to answer the call, it is never faster enough to catch the call. Once out of a blue moon, I will be able to answer after several rings. DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE, I have only had this phone for less than 3 weeks, by the way.

I took it in for repair from my service provider and it came back saying it was a software problem. but within 24 hours of having the phone, the problem occurs again. =( i am really disappointed with SE in making this phone. I've had this phone for a year and it has gone for good now. It ll started when the charging cable became loose and I had to jiggle it to get it to charge. This past week I can no longer recharge it because it is saying that I need a Sony Ericsson battery (which is what is in there) I took it to the phone repairer and we tried a new battery and charging cable and got the same error. She came to the conclusion that it needs a motherboard replacement. Forget it - I'm going back to Nokia. Yes I also had many freezing problems.

well, if you have a problem to decide wich phone is better... you should buy W580, it brokes keypad but you can patch, flash and much more... and for W595 there is no too much patches and you can't modify it like W580 or another DB2020... about W760, i thought that the calls cut by a hardware problem 'cause my W760 is too heated... but looks like the problem is ORIGINAL from phone...

this phone i had it almost half year, it came out a lot of problem. sometimes it freeze and turn off itself. sometimes it after cut off call and it turn black completely. and all the time in between phone ring or alarm clock you only can choose one. i try many time the alarm clock not ring and make my job take risk. At the end, I feel really disappoint on this phone. even I have the S500 still better then that.

I have been a Sony user for many years, and i can safely say, DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER purchasing this phone. within using it, for merely 3 months, it began giving problem. i sent it for warranty claim, and again exactly 3 months later it gave the same problem! seeing as too it was still under warranty i sent it in again. No surprise, about 3 months later i suffered the very same problems. my main issue was that its charging cable kept getting loose, therefore i couldn't charge or store data into my phone. apart from that, it constantly restarts itself. the phone lags all the time, even after i deleted all my songs and pictures. (i've also updated the software) the alarm chooses to work as it pleases! the battery doesn't last long. seriously, I thought this would be a good investment, but I was deeply mistaken! so believe me, DO NOT GET THIS PHONE!

It's quite a nicee phone, infact the perfect entertaient solution - with it's Walkman 3.0 player (not too loud admitted), motion gaming, video support etc. But the performance lacks. I've sent it twice back for hardware defect faults and will send it back a 3rd time. However that's just my phone probably. Overall, I highly recommend this phone for someone who wants a media/games/Internet/texting phone. Design: 9/10 Features: 9/10 Performance: 6/10 W760i - The iPhone without the touchscreen :)

As a phone, I have no complaints about this model - calls and texts are problem free. The camera feature is fairly solid at 3 megapixel, but the colours could be better in some situations and it is seriously lacking a flash. As far as being a music player, which I expected with the walkman name, it is really disapointing. Loading music from a computer is easy, but that's about where the positives end. It sounds decent enough through the loudspeaker although lacking in bass. It sounds absolutely terrible through the headphone adaptor. It's so bad I consider it un-listenable. After trying a replacement headphone adaptor the sound quality was equally bad. If you want a phone with a decent camera, this is a good buy. If you want a music player as well, look elsewhere.

I have liked the W series of Sony Ericsson till I bought the W 760i. The worst phone I have used in twelve years...a snail would beat it as far as performance is concerned and it freezes faster than water would in an ice box!

I bought this one recently and liked it! Came with a 1 GB Memory Card, which can hold up a lot of MP3. The SensMe function is really nice, the sound and handsfree acessory are great, too! Games can sense the phone's position, that's good. so far (~2 months), no problems of any kind, I liked it very much, even though I thought 1 GB was too few and, being Sony's, memory card would be expensive.

This is by far the worst phone I've ever had. DO NOT EVEN LOOK AT THIS PHONE. It may sound appealing if you're into music but there are just too many problems accociated with this phone. I had the W760i and my brother had a W760a. Both phones are now in the garbage. Here were the issues: 1. No flash + the camera is terrible (doesn't even let you zoom in high quality) 2. Headset/charger port breaks completely off or doesn't connect to the device. 3. After you lose service, the only way to get it back is through restarting your phone since it makes no effort to attempt to find service on its own. It doesn't give you any audible notification that you lost service. It simply says "no connection to network". You may have people calling you all day and it wont go through. So you would have to look at the phone every 10 mins to make sure you have service. 4.Every program runs slowly. The phone freezes every 2 minutes. 5. Buttons are hard to work with. They are flat, closely placed to one another and require some labor to press down on. 6. As with an slider, this phone has trouble sliding up and down if some dirt or sand gets in there.

Yep, it is dust on the screen. Take it to your provider for a simple cleaning or just get used to it XD. I was wondering, i've read there's a way to use this phone as a modem for my pc but going through the configuration i also found a way to connect your cell phone to the computer and use the conection of the pc to get to internet. Has anybody used it?

I have the for less then a month and the phone freezes and reboots for it self...... This started happening about the day i brought it home. i took the phone back and the place i brought it form updated the firmware.... the day i collected the phone it keep freezing and rebooting.... it look like it got worse..... also the firmware seem very sluggish compared with my bro's phone (sony ericsson w580i)........ overall the phones kool because of the accelerometer but the trouble is not worth it.

i check with sony ericsson and find out it is the software problem. as per them the software only allow up to 600k for ringtone. and no other software for this phone. so this really dispoint for the ringtone only. other than that the phone is good

That depends on how this is done. If you let your operator do the unbranding (the legal way) the warranty won't be violated, but if you use methods like flashing the phone's software you have modified the product and you'll loose your right on warranty.

To use Sens Me you must let a program (that comes with the phone or you can download it) analyse your tracks which will put the tracks in a diagram with moods. After that you open the Sens Me menu where you can see the tracks as dots on the diagram. Even though it works far from perfect (according to the program my saddest song is a upbeat lovesong, go figure) it's still an interesting feature. And the phone does support shakecontrol but I find it easier to use up-down buttons on the side which have exactly the same functions (which makes the shake-gimmick kinda useless).

No there isn't but there are two better ways to lock the keypads: 1. you can turn on the auto-lock which will lock the keys after a few secs of inactivity 2. you can just slide open and close and it will be locked. You can't get more simple than that.

I'm a w760i user and before I have the same problem as yours, UPDATE your software using Sony Ericsson Update Service (SEUS) it will fix the problem, it works for me.. my phone is now in perfect condition.

1205-2512 R3DA028 080908 should be the latest software. I have this firmware too. I hope Sony would make another update to completely getting rid of the lags/hangs and speaker has to be louder when Stereo Widening is turned on.

One more thing: Sony and GsmArena says this model has 40MB memory. ATT says 11MB.. I figured att is wrong since the manufacturer stated 40.. well no, att is right, it has only 11MB so if you want a little more you need to buy it.. of course half the ppl buy it from att... This is a completely different phone to the one Sony made for the World. Here in the US they have a dumbed down version so it won't confuse the highly educated population.

I bought a W760a from AT&T and there is NOTHING IN THE BOX only the phone, battery and a wall charger. NO CARD, NO HEADPHONES, NO DATA CABLE, NO CARD READER! The thieves at at&t took everything out and they are selling separate. $50 for a headphone and a cable..etc. The W810 had everything in the box. Petty thieves! Last time I bought anything from them! The phone's UI is a mess. They shoved in so much att crap in it you cannot do one click without an att application. They removed every usable software too. Now it has att mall, att navigation, att this and that. If you are considering to buy form att DO NOT. buy online unlocked so you don't have to pay for otherwise free apps for att. I hope I find a way to flush this out with the orig. softwares. if not I'm selling it. On the other hand it's a decent phone. THe only things I'm not fan of are the camera not having auto focus and the green/yellow? line on the back... the black phone should come w/chrome or silver maybe dark blue...

I've been facing problem with d connector where v connect charger n headphone since dec. D service centre guys ve replaced d connector 3 times n everytime it works well 4 about 10 days n then starts giving problem n Now i'm waiting 4 d handset to come back 4m sony head office as service center guys ve given it 4 hardware replacement. This phone is exelent. The only problem i have is this phone with a bluetooth headset. for some reason I have to touch the headset button again, after answering or calling to get it to transfer sound to the bluetooth. Other than that, this phone packs a pretty good camera, 3mp, which is definately nice enough for a phone. The video quality is pretty good also. Navigating the phone, compared with previous versions of sony ericsson, is a little more difficult, but after a while you get used to it and it gets better. The sound quality of the music is pretty good, considering this isnt the highest end model and the price. Motion sensor in it is great. My gps i have no problems with and the online video streaming is great.

man i just got this phone a few days ago as an upgrade from my LG cu400. i LOVE this phone! it has a great camera and even a video editor. the only problem is it doesn't lock the screen after an amount of time if you use it without opening and closing it. takes some getting used to, but overall GREAT phone.

your screen dims because it has an illumination sensor. Basically, if you're in a dark place, the brightness of the screen decreases, which makes perfect sense - why would you need maximum brightness in a pitch dark room? The same goes if you're out in the sun, the brightness increases so the text on the phone's screen could be legible. Plus, the screen dimming extends the battery life a whole lot ;)

This phone is thicker than the W595. The speakers are also softer than the W595. The W595 is newer than this phone. However, they both have 3mp cameras. Both also have stereo speakers. The W760 also has a built in GPS. The keypad of the W760 feels more comfortable than that of the W595. If you want style, get the W595, if you want more variety, get the W760.

IMHO... get yourself a W760i, follows are advantages over W580: 3G, bigger screen, Accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate, stereo speakers, bigger memory, higher resolution camera, GPS, aGPS & Google Maps. Stability of the phone is a matter of luck since mine is working fine for several months now.

Georgia, If you save messages to phone memory it will still save a LOT of messages but eventually you'd have to delete them. I would suggest saving messages, photos and everything on the card, coz this phone is unreliable and if it crashes, you could lose everything.

But if you follow this forum and/or any other for the W760, you will see more complaints than compliments. And most of the complaints are common. My phone is totally upgraded and up to date with its software. I upgraded it the day i got it and when it went to SE for repair i checked with them an they agreed that it had the latest software. I went to 'update service' in my phone and it still shows the latest software. My phone still freezes and does the things its not supposed to. SE replaced the board on the phone and it still persists. Lets face it, bad phone from SE and those who argue obviously are new to SE and have not been with them thru their good years. SE made phones that worked, no matter what. I was talking on my Z710 when it fell out of my hand and was run over by a speeding Mitsubishi. Both the front and rear tyres ran over my open phone and all that happened was that i lost my call. When i picked up my phone, it was intact and all the features worked. That, my friend, is the SE phones I am used to. And those are the kind of phones that made SE the company it is today. I've been using them since 2003(T610).

Actually you should have a look at the tracker appliction, it uses the gps receiver instead of the motion sensor. You can still get your calory consumption depending on your weight, size, etc. Plus it records your position and you can compare laps with speed and everything...

Can anyone tell us why the pedometer and calorie counter was removed as a feature on this phone? The W580 had this feature and found it to be very useful. The W760 has the same motion sensing technology yet the pedometer application is no longer available. Why? AT&T of course no longer offers the W580, which makes us very sad :-(

I want to put to rest the debate on whether the W760 is a good phone or a bad phone. I've had this phone since it was launched and I have used most features on the phone. Feature to feature and in looks, style and user friendliness the W760 is a good phone. In fact it is a very good phone. But the problem is that most W760s seem to have left the factory with a problem. The phone lags, freezes, shuts down and reboots. There is no solution to this but to return the phone to an Authorized SE service station and explain this carefully(mostly it needs Circuit board replaced). That will solve the problem and the phone will be a pleasure to use.

I have similar issues before, but after a firmware/software update, everything went well. The update will also delete whatever files you have in your phone... which is good because I may have a corrupted file without my knowledge which may have been causing those issues. The update will also replace your old firmware/software which may have bugs as well that SE had corrected with the new firware/software.

i have this phone since august 2008, it was perfect and all till after 2 mounths, when i started to have problem. so far the problems i had with this phone are: 1. it freezes. 2. it turns off and turns on by it self. 3. the alarm doesn't ring sometimes..which made late for uni several time. 4. i thought i had a problem with my sim, but i tried it on another phone and it worked properly. since November i couldn't call/text anyone, and so did my contacts.. i still have this problem but it happens less than before. 5. the music keeps getting stuck while playing. well that's it..other than that the phone is perfect :) this was my first SE and i have to say, i'm dissapointed.

This phone plays *.3gp and *.mp4 video formats. First, I use the free "Any Video Converter_v2.6.7" to convert my full length "standard *.avi" and "high-def *.mkv" movies into *.mp4. In using the "Any Video Converter_v2.6.7", use the following settings which I found out to be a balance of video resolution, audo quality and file size: Video size: 320x240 Video bit rate: 256 Video Framerate: 25 Audio Bitrate 128 Sample rate: 44100 Transfer your *.mp4 videos from your PC to the phone using the USB cable at mass storage mode. You can download the "Any Video Converter_v2.6.7" from their website, just google to find it. I hope that helps.

Google Maps is pre-installed in this phone. OS of this phone is proprietary, meaning, exclusive to Sony. No phone will work without an OS. If you know one without an OS, pls name it here to share the info. Java applications (*.jar) will work in this phone, including maps.

Wayfinder's maps are stored on external servers and downloaded when requested, so as with Google Maps. All route computations are done on external servers and not by phones which is logical given the low processing powers of phones. It is so because Wayfinder is a turn by turn voice guided navigation and roads closed, roads open, and traffic density changes... in short, all these data must be in real time. This is the reason everytime you open the application including Google Maps, your phone automatically connects to the internet. With W760, you will have a 3-month trial period of Wayfinder, this is the time you will know whether your GSM service provider supports it. After the trial period, you have to subscribe to Wayfinder. For Google Maps, it is free, but your GSM service provider tariff will apply for the internet connection.

Subscribe to Wayfinder Navigator to fully utilize W760 GPS feature. Nothing to install since the phone comes preloaded with location services applications, i.e. Google Maps, Wayfinder Navigator and Tracker. Google maps is "assisted GPS".

yeah,, i dont know why sony now have a unstable phones,, it looks like that some company was buiding phones for them,, and it is not durable,, ever since the series that the side charging phones, i have a W850i and it is durable, im using it for 2 1/2years and still working,, my friend buy a k550i (sidecharging desighn) and the navy pad mulfunction just after 6MONTHS??!?, i brought it to sony ericsson & they said that i have to wait for aprox 3months because the part that is broken needs to be shipped,, also my coleagues just bought just yesterday a W890i and we having problems with its M2 sloth wich cannot read M2 cards??,, i dont know whats really happenig here, but since that the phones became slimmer they also become more fragile,, sony,, pls do something with this,, we love se phones but make them more durable,, and also the parts availability,,

X is for Xperia, or high-end power house phones. K is a balance of Cybershot and 3G all-around phones. T is an all-around phone. If your phone is shutting on its own and rebooting then you have a serious problem. It seems to be the most common complaint with 760 users and i believe its bcoz the phone is unstable. After struggling with the problem forever i finally gave my phone to the service centre (Bombay, India). They have my phone since the 13th of Jan and i don't know when i'll be getting it back. They claim its a hardware problem and need to replace the motherboard, but with the number of similar complaints i've seen on the 760, I'm sure its an issue SE is struggling with. Currently I'm using a Nokia 3315 and finding the simple pleasures of life again.

Yes, you may transfer pictures/videos from/to the PC via bluetooth or USB cable. This phone can even be used as a modem to connect your PC to the web. Or if you like, you can control your PC mouse using this phone via bluetooth.

While for texting and phone management... this phone interfaces flawlessly with MOBILedit, an application which I am using to manage my SMS, phonebook, ringtones, photos, files, archives and backups and even make an eBook using the optional mBoox plug-in of MOBILedit. mBoox exends the capability of W760i to read documents by harnessing the phones onboard Java application.

An update on the superb connectivity of W760i... instead of WIFI which this phone obviously do not have, Bluetooth internet access is possible using a Bluetooth Access Point. Luckily enough, I have both WIFI and Bluetooth Access Points in my room which I have installed long ago so that my friends around can connect to the web with both options depending on the connectivity of their laptops... so now, my W760i is sharing the internet connection using bluetooth and the Workgroup LAN network. After 4 days, when i called them today, they said it was not a software but a hardware problem and it would take another week. This is not only the worst SE phone but could be the worst phone in the world. Stay away from it. I still cant believe SE could make a phone like this one.

The A2 Uploader can be used to access the hidden system operating files e.g. acoustics, fonts, menu layout which these files cant be seen when the phone is on these are A2 phones: w760, w910, k850 c902 etc so this program allows u to access the A2 system files, delete protected files, change the font of a phone, replace old sound drivers with new drivers (by doing this the phone will be louder and also headphones), changing the desktop layout e.g. time can be placed anywhere on screen, add more flash themes, custom startup screens and sounds etc so there are many things u can do with the A2 Uploader and also u can now FLASH an A2 phone with the A2 Uploader for example changing firmware... but the flash files will be needed

You won't regret buying this phone. The best thing I like this phone is the robustness of the operating system which is a SE proprietary... somebody in this forum said: "like no other"... I like those words. But like others, i.e. Java (*.jar) applications, this phone handles best. Onboard modem of this phone is robust too, I can connect my PC to the web effortlessly after BT pairing and its quite fast with 3G... no need for other softwares like PC Suite. Another thing which I admire having this phone is the accuracy of its location services like Google Maps that with cell triangulation supplemented by assisted GPS, I only get a single digit error in meters and even no error at all sometimes... I wouldn't be lost in the city again. I hope those first hand experience with this phone help.

1.no the phone does not slow down when a 4gbcard is used.(I tried it with the prebundled 1gb card and the 4gb card which i bought) 2. the phone comes with the HPM-64 headphones. 3.From my experience, the phone is as loud, maybe louder than my friend's W595 Hope it helps:)

From wat i heard, while opening the folders, the opening process is slow wen compared to the same peocess wen a 1gb card is used.. Hi Zayra! If your operator supports video calling, then what you have to do is just flip your phone so that you are in-front of the camera. W760i has more in it than just video calling. It is the winner phone in its price bracket.

3G just means that you can transfer data alot faster than a regular phone. If you are looking for a phone that has video call this is not it, tho you will need 3G for video call feature to work.

Guys, I've had my w760 for about 2 months now and dust particles have slowly been accumulating under the screen. I mean, we're talking tiny particles that do not affect the screen at all, but it's still really annoying. Anyone else having that issue? Otherwise I love the phone, but I definitely miss having an LED like my k850. Thanks for any comments.

The g900 nor the w980 would do any good on AT&T. From what AT&T tells me you will need it to have both Gsm 850 and 1900 for it to work on there network here in the states.

Update Service only stops the update if the battery dies in the process i recommend u to have the battery charged fully then update.

T303 is perfect if you just want a cool little phone that can call, take a few snaps, maybe play a few short songs, you're right. I also think the T303 is made of better materials than the W760. But if you want to play lots of songs, you need a phone like this. Also the screen is much bigger and the camera is better.

Could be frustrating. Have you attempted the update OTA or online? I did an update online with 1mbps DSL connection, and it was a straightforward process. I have first tried OTA but it didn't work, my GSM network maybe too slow for that.

Right Sir... T303 is a general purpose everyday phone, unlike the W760i which is a specialized Walkman phone. Sure enough, memory is an issue with T303, but proper management of MP3 file size like reducing the bit rate to 96kbps or less, the 8MB or so internal memory of T303 will still hold enough MP3s. Anyway, higher MP3 bit rates like 256~320 kbps will never be faithfully reproduced by any phone built-in speakers or even an average headphone.

No, but it's difficult, you must turn off A-GPS ("Assisted Start") and if you wish to use mapping software, you can't use Google Maps. need to download the maps using your pc and transfer them to your phone, and use another program like MGMaps.

Jon, Listen to me, i'm 41 and have been usung cell phones since you were born or before ;-) You can't get better than a SE pgone and i have used, Nokia(14), Samsung(2), and SE(5). Except for the W760 i have never had A SINGLE problem with my Se phones. So get yourself something other than a W760. My nephew is using a C905 and it roxx. The rest is up to you. All the best.

My w760i is the best phone ever and its loud looks to me i did bougth it with the latest software on because its as loud as my w850i just not as much bass but in loudness is the same if yo have the latest software when in walkman player plug in your earphones then pres options then setting then equalizer but before yo go in your equalizer first plug out your earphones then equilizer then set your equalizer on manual with al the bars ful then pres done and play your music ou louder you wil ear the sound wil be louder SE rocks

Hi! Anybody here knows how to keep the screen of W760i from turning off very quickly or at least a utility to extend the "ON" time of the screen? I am annoyed by it tuning off while I am reading eBooks, that I have to struggle to press any key to keep the screen switching "ON" again. Your help would be very much appreciated. Jonasfan: No problem ;) I suggest to anyone who is having problems to flash their firmware to the original version (not operator-branded). I did it and my phone is fast and works perfectly, I don't have any problems with freezing (though it did restart once). W760 vs W910: W760: New icons and upgraded interface, GPS which works well, 3.2mp cam, lots of games, MUCH better sound quality from stereo speakers on the front (Neat idea). Smaller screen than W910 and no videocall W910: Larger screen, videocall camera, cybershot camera interface, but slower performance, poor sound quality and mono speaker is located at the back near the bottom, no GPS, worse camera (exposed too) and the materials feel a bit cheap. W760 wins easily =)

Yes! I have the same problem. In fact i got online to ask MANNY for help with this. The phone just crashes and reboots. Then it doesn't read the memory card so all my assigned ringtones, pics etc go out of sync. If someone calls while the phone is in this mode then i lose all the assigned setting for that contact. Its really frustrating. I have to restart the phone for it to read the memory card. Manny Help!

I'd say the only real weakness is the camera quality, the phone is great in every other way :) Maybe a firmware update will fix the camera quality problem.

The pictures I've taken using my W760i were almost all blurry, grainy or both...I've only taken about 3 that I'm happy with...I'll try updating the firmware and report back :) I will post some examples if you like...

Ive had 3 replacments of this phone and o2 keep sending me new ones instead of another handset even tho the same problem happens with all of them. The phone crashes and reboots, it gradually builds - first maybe one crash a day up to a point of 8 or 10 crashes a day where you cant even use it. ive updated the firmware and nothing changes. Does anyone else have this problem?

I guess im lucky then, my phone does bring the video call and i have used it and it works just fine, the disadvantage is the only one camera it has on the back, so if people want to see me i have to flip over my phone. Ive heard many people complaining it doesnt have the video call but i guess u r right, it depends on the region cause mine does have the video call, im in central america and i guess my firmware is the latest for my region.

I'm thinking of getting either one of these. Which do you think is better and why? I found both of them pretty similar but W595 is a little more expensive. I love the blinding "W" Walkman logo brand on the back of the W760 but I also think GPS is pretty useless for me and not having a secondary video camera means all that superb connectivity of 3G/HSDPA is gone to waste. Had this phone for a few weeks! A little review. Pros: Great screen Feels really nice in the hand Smooth slide Comfortable navigation keys and gaming keys Very good UI performance New SE software Geotagging Nice web browsing experience Walkman 3.0 extras (Sensme, shake control, etc) Stereo speakers on the FRONT. (Not back!!) Neat flashing Walkman icon on the back Camera protected by slide Nice look and feel Great GPS performance- I can usually get a lock within 10 seconds if outside, and according to Google Maps I've seen it as accurate as 3 metres. Cons: Camera performance is extremely disappointing. Pictures come out very blurred even holding the phone steady and in good light conditions. I'm not sure whether it's just my phone, but my old 2mp z710i took better photos. Photos have been useable only a few times. Maybe a firmware update would make things better... QVGA/15FPS video recording Basic camera interface and no camera shutter key Stereo speakers not the best quality Activity menu key sometimes stops working Keypad a little tricky to get used to because the keys don't press too well Overall a really great phone but a terrible camera. As said, I hope a firmware update will fix the camera quality issues.

In my opinion, i think w760 is better. Bcoz it has 2.2" display, built in accelometer, and the music is the best. IMO T700 camera is better than w760 bcoz it has flash LED. You must look for c702^^it has almost the same feature with w760. Thanks.

This is a good phone (only had it a couple days though), runs well, easy to use interface. I didn't get any accessories, but the requirement for proprietary connectors and memory cards is some bs, especially when they aren't included in the bundle. Once I can get rid of the AT&T branding (when I have the usb cable from amazon), the phone should run much smoother; I can upload a theme without all the default themes' fancy animations.

I think, headphones for this Walkman phone is supplied as standard, mine came with a high quality headphones with SE logo and a SE audio conversion kit. With the SE audio conversion kit you can use any kinds of headphones if you don't like the supplied one. My phone even came supplied with another audio cable that you may use to drive external powered loudspeakers similar to those used in computers which I have done and the music sounds terrific... the bass and highs are very much pronounced. Try this phone, you will love it.

I bought this Cool gadget last week.I found the battery doesn't last for long. Can anyone tell me about this please. When the battery is fully charged do we get any signs or indications on the screen saying that the charging is complete. During the period of charging n when i press the button at the side of the phone it displays the battery life and i found that it has never reached 100%. Files on ur MEMORY CARD will not be deleted but the files on ur phone memory will be deleted BACKUP YOUR FILES UP ONTO UR MEMORY CARD then update your phone note: all ur phone contacts, copy then onto the sim card memory

Well, bro the w910i hasnt got the best speakers it might be alright quality sound but its pretty low compared to the w760 and the w595. the w595 is almost exact same as w760 but the w595 doesnt have gps... and DOES has 2 loud stereo speakers one at the top and one at bottom (if ur getting a w595 try to get a debranded 1) so i wud buy a w595 instead of the w910i if i had money i wud buy it... im only 17 lol but according to how much money u can spend get the w595 but if its too pricey then go for the w910i. lol cuz for me the w595 is pretty expensive

I am using W760i from last 4 months (mid of Aug) 15 days after launch in India It's sound is not as per walkman series it is lesser than K530i When you slide the phone quickly it is shut off you are getting walkman series hesdset It having Hang problem (somtimes)when you recive phone I will not recommend any thing in this phone even camera (no flash)

Well bro that is a really good question lol i havent had a c702 so ill just give u my opinion because theyre both good phones, all i can say is this... if u want a phone with flash, autofocus and overall u want a camera phone and normal playing music capability then the c702 is for u. but if u want a music phone, like to play games and not really bothered about the camera and want the motion-sensor then its the w760 (camera is quite good but wont be better than the c702's) the w760 is mainly a music and gaming purposed fone so both of them have a different purpose: c702 is a CYBERSHOT PHONE which is dedicated to taking photos w760 is a MUSIC, GAMING (2 gaming buttons at front) dedicated for playing games and to play music (with 2 stereo speakers at front) (note: the w760i has built-in motion sensor which the c702 hasnt got) But i prefer the w760 as it has the motion sensor, the 2 stereo speakers at front and the gaming buttons and also GPS just like the c702 At the end of the day man its your choice to make... but i hope i helped :)

Ellie, i suggest you download a program called update service from sony ericsson website, get your phone updated once its updated it will hardly ever restart because my w760 used to do that, then i updated the software using the program and now my phone doesnt restart and doesnt have any problems:

I bought this phone and within 6 months, I am having to get a new one. Although the walkman is very good, I had to buy an additional memory card as the memory supplied with it was tiny. Also, since I have had it, it regularly freezes and restarts for no reason and is extremely slow. No, the shake it thing (Accelerometer) does not affect the battery life as u have to hold the walkman button then shake the phone to change tracks or raise volume... i have had 2 w760i and the battery life is good the shake it feuture doesnt have any glitches ive had 5 w910i's and 2 k850i and theyre shake it feuture never glitched and same with the w760 :) and as for the w880, it is very low in loudness and the speaker can pop after using the speaker to much upto its maximum peak and its screen is small also it doesnt have the gps capabilities and doesnt have the walkman version or the other great feutures the w760 has... so id rather get a w760 or its upto u if u want both lol :) and the most popular colours on the w760 are in this order (my opinion) 1) Red 2) Black 3) Grey i have the black one but i want the red 1 lol and the difference between w760 and w760a i think they will be the same, maybe some few minor differences id go with the w760

Bro Ive Already Told U How To Do This Look Through The Comment Pages And Find My post with links on it and download the a2 uploader then unzip uploader and press filesystem tool on the a2 uploader then follow instructions (remove battery then re-insert on your w760i then keep hold of 5 button then connect the usb cable) once done and u can see folder e.g. tpa, ifs etc goto tpa\system\fonts (if not there look through all folders) and delete the old fonts that u see in fonts folder and put in the new fonts which are bigger than the original: (click 'save to pc') and then unzip the files then drag the 3 files and put them where the old deleted files were (guys this maybe a long process!! but it works!!) plz... (RESEARCH ABOUT THIS IF U DONT UNDERSTAND WAT IM SAYING or just ask me ill try to simplify it by emailing u) yes the w760 has gone cheaper i got my w760i for �60! the w760 is better than the w302 bcuz the w760 has more features e.g. GPS receiver, 240x320 resolution, 2 stereo speakers, Accelerometer, 2 Gaming Buttons, 3.2 MP camera, its louder, Menu Order (rotation etc), Shake Control, (volume control and track changer), Internet Browser (tilt the phone to its left and the browser's view changes to landscape) and Sense Me :)

Yeah I've had mine for a little while now and not had any of those problems either. In fact, I'm liking the phone so much I bought one for my girlfriend. Also, if any of you are experiencing problems with the phone, try going into settings and performing a software update. If you do not have a data plan, go onto Sony Ericsson's website, download the updates, and install them on your phone via USB cable. That should solve any issues you're having. Cheers

in my opinion this is the WORST sony ericsson phone i have ever owned. I am a big fan of sony ericsson and have owned upwards of 8 S.E phones. this one has givin me nothing but problems i have had it for a month or two and it always shuts off by itself , it cuts out when im talking, people can hear me but i cant hear them and when i listen to my music it stops playing them and starts again when it wants and LAGS all the time. i highly recomend you dont buy this phone becuase i know 2 other people who have it with the exact same problems.... buying a C905 next week thank god

If reliability and battery life are important, get the w760. No matter how good the LG Shine might look, it's never going to work as well as a Sony Ericsson phone. Just my opinion, but I've used both. Also, if you ever use your phone in broad daylight, you'll regret getting the LG; you can't see the screen! Hope that helps =)

Had my W760i for a day now and its better than my w910. I did the live update thing to get the latest firmware and the first thing I noticed was the improvement in sound quality thru the stereo speakers, wired headphones and especially thru the bluetooth A2DP stereo link, in all cases the phone was much louder and the sound well balanced. A relief considering the pangs of disappointment I felt when I found out that playing the walkman through the bluetooth stereo output into a SE MDR-100 dongle connected to a 60 watts per channel amp and speakers at FULL VOLUME produced enough sound to barely match the whine of my PC's cooling fans. Thank goodness that's sorted out.

I have had the 760I about a month now! I am impressed with the way it looks. It comes with some really cool ringtones. I would of liked it more if it had a headset in the box. it is very stylish, and I like the color. I am however a little worried about the slidre part of the phone,and the keyboardis too small only part of it lights up! I'm not sure it will hold up to my contract. On a scale from 1 to 10 I would rate it an 8!

I have had this happen on certain songs when I play them. I have mine set to loop so it plays all the time, but when it got to a certain song it would stop and reboot. I removed the song, and it worked just fine so it must be a bad file that causes it on mine....then again I do download songs from the internet, and we know how some of those files are........ :-)

I got my P1i replaced for this fone, the bastard where I took my p1i for repairing damaged the whole mainboard by flashing a wrong S/W. Till now this fone is awesome, in performance, atleast it doesn't reboot by itself hehehe. Plays 3d java flawlessly, without a hitch. GPS quite laggy though but still does the job. Sound on handset is to low :( but with headset it's just awesome. Camera is ok, I barely use it LoL :D One thing that bothers me, don't play videos within the media menu it lags, instead just go to file manager and play ure video from there :) BTW if u have VISTA 64-bit good luck in finding drivers for it ;) till now I can't find a proper working vista (64) driver for it.

I just bought a w760i on ebay for $160 USD and I can't wait to get it. I used to only use SE phones, but I recently started trying out Nokia models and I am currently using an iPhone. The iPhone is pretty awesome I have to admit, and many of the Nokia models (N95, N82) were really nice too. But there is just something about SE phones that I keep coming back to. Not sure exactly what it is, because I pretty much agree with most Nokia/Samsung fanboys that many SE phones are a bit 'under powered' in terms of features. But what they lack in huge screens and massive CPU's, they more than make up for in user interface and basic features that I actually USE. The thing is, while 'Top of the Line' phone from other manufacturers stress how many features they pack in, they never seem to perform any one feature really really well. SE gets it right with the Cyber-Shot and Walkman series. They're not ridiculously over-featured, but they do what they claim with no strings attached. All in all, I just love Sony Ericsson phones. At some point I think I'll get the G705, but I couldn't pass up that $160 price for the w760 on ebay. Glad to be back!

If you want your w760i louder go to walkman player put in your earphones without playing music press options then setting dont press equalizer pull 1ste your earphones out then cklick on equalizer then cklick on manual then play around with the eqaulizer when you done press done and your phone will be abit louder i did do it and my phone is now as loud as my w850i and sorry for bad spelling

well its the only walkman phone with built-in gps reciever and has good feutres like motion volume control so thats good enuff for me so obviously i am going to play around with it trying to make it louder seeing as i have the phone, but i can say this it really does have improvement in loudness after the taking the steps i showed u :)

yes it will improve the output sound of the speakers (will go more louder than normal) and also the headphones will be louder :) if u find that the speakers are to crackly then go to the walkman player click on options>settings>stereo widening and click the on option then it will sound better remember UR DOING THIS AT UR OWN RISK! it worked perfectly for me cuz i followed the steps :)

Right ok so heres a detailed post on how to make ur w760i louder; follow these steps type: (DOWNLOAD WITHIN 90 DAYS) thats the acoustics so u DO NOT need to go on topse.ru. just download the files from the link above :) and here is a link to the A2 Uploader: (DOWNLOAD WITHIN 90 DAYS) and the last link telling and showing you how to Upload files to your phone with the A2 Uploader: (READ CAREFULLY!) and i think that has made life simpler for me and you :) so ok by checking out tutorial u will know how to get into the sound files section on the A2 Uploader the sound files u will see on the right-hand side box u will have to delete them 1 by 1 (click on the sound file then press delete button on keyboard) once uve deleted all the sound files in the box and the box is empty then extract the acoustics that i have given you into ur documents and select all the sound files and drag it into the sound files box on A2 Uploader then exit the program once youve done that. if ur not sure then check the tutorial out (posted links in this post) guys sorry if that was a long comment but i want u guys to have a loud w760 :) like mine :D oh yea and u can also change ur fonts but i will let u guys play around with the A2 Uploader u will find out eventually :P

right so some poeple are asking about w760i having low speakers... there is a solution!!! firstly there is a free software that can hack in2 w760 internal system e.g. where the camera and sound drivers etc... are stored so once u get the program and u hav accessed those internal files then search 4 louder acoustics on this site www.topse.ru u wil hav 2 use google translator once u hav replaced the original acoustics with new 1s then ur fne wil be loud as the w595! Press the Walkman key twice and hold it till the songs appear. Do this 2 or three times. Afterwhich you will just press it once. This is a wonderful phone, very clear screen the downside is the Wi-Fi incapability and slow GPS.

Yes, this phone is worth buying. Get the red one cuz it looks better. I have the red one for about 4 months now, everything is great after i updated to the latest firmware... The sliding is good (much better than W580, W595, W910). The box includes (phone, battery BST-38, wall charger, usb cable, handsfree, 1GB M2 card, and manual... The handsfree sucks though, its the the Walkman kinds. The handsfree should be HPM-70 but its a different model. Overal, i am satisfied using this phone, everything is great e.g. Walkman, downloaded my own games into it, Google Maps, GPS ect... This is the best SE i have ever used. Truly amazing phone. Go BUY IT!

I have an 8gb card in my w580 and have no slow down whatsoever. Only when going through the walkman when browsing artists, albums, etc, only because of more MP3 tags to be loaded, obviously there's going to be a slight delay.

Just got the w760i and everything seems to work fine except my walkman key. I heard it loads the music player, like other walkman phones but mine does nothing. Shake control doesn't work either. Shake control is not important to me but having a button that doesn't work bothers me. Could it be a firmware issue? I have 1205-2512 R3CA038 080721 if that helps. Anyone else have this problem?

Love the phone only thing that stinks is there is no way to switch between running applications because att stuck there dumb media net button in its spot where it should be. Now all att needs is the x1 and the w980! no more iphone! more options please! You can download google maps on the att version, and tethering is a breeze with sony's desktop management software. I think you need to change service providers. This is a great phone, I have had no problems with it. I do agree that it needs a flash, the camera is only good in well lit areas,or during daylight. But other then that , it does a wonderful job for what it was designed to do. Also my wife has the same phone and loves it.

This phone is bad. I have been using Ericsson and SE phones for years but this one really disappoints me. I bought it only because my mobile service carrier uses the 850Mhz frequency for their 3G network, leaving me few choices on which phones I could buy. The Camera sucks, reception is poor, and you get interruption on the earpiece for five seconds or so every one minutes during a call, no matter where you are and how well the reception is shown on the phone itself. The GPS function has never worked since I bought it, and the mobile service carrier has not been bothered helping me to get it to work. Also the phone randomly switches itself off and you won't realise it until you find yourself anxiously waiting for an expected call but not receiving it for some reason. In conclusion, consider it more than twice before you buy this phone. I think the C series is far much better.

i was a production engineer from Flextronics Shah Alam, Malaysia. I was in-charge of this model, codename "DEENA". this model $ucks to the every single core. if you have problem with the pictures taken, it's probably due to the chipped glass component, which is basically a design flaw. also, if you have problem with the 3G, not the video call (you can't; it doesn't even have the front camera!), it's definitely due to the main square thingy which is a PoP solder issue. either not soldered, or solder crack. mind you, WE REWORKED SO DARN MANY UNITS. so watch out, yo! also, you might have gotten yourself a unit with broken LCD. that's becoz there was another design flaw with the LCD assembly; operators had to PRESS ON IT HARD! ALSO, if you experience lousy button-pressing on the navigation key, it's also ANOTHER design flaw. WISH YOU W760 USERS OUT THERE GOOD LUCK TO THE POWER OF INFINITY! *p.s.; the Project Manager $ucks, the supervisor $ucks, the entire team $ucks. especially some ppl who dictates other ppl's working hours.

This phone is loud if you now how to get the eqaulizer right becaus i did play abit with my equalizer and now my phone is the loudness of my w850i on some songs louder and w850i is the loudest SE ppl with SE speaker go into your equalizer with your song still playing on your speakers then plug your speaker out then your phone plays stil the song but you are stil in your equalizer with the phones speakers playing so then you kan change your equalizer in manaul loud

My phone had the latest firmware, so when I went to the Sony web sight, it told me I did not need an update. Did you download the update service from the Sony web page? If you did, I don't think Sony would put a bad update for there phones on there. I have updated three of my other phones from there with no problems, the w810, w710 and the w580. I just don't understand why your friend would say what he did.

I don't know what review that you are talking about. But if you are trying to do the equalizer manually, than plug in your ear phones, go to the walkman player, click the left soft key ( options), go to 'settings', then to 'equalizer'. You will see that the word 'manual' is over the left soft key. click it and you can set the equalizer to your liking. Hope this is what you were looking for.

when i first got this phone, i had problems with the back light flickering, crap battery life and bad quality camera. one quick firmware update from the SE site, and it fixed the problems. i've just got a 2nd W760i for less than a week. and sadly sending it back again. the phone is really great.... apart from: 1)The GPS never finds a route "No Route Found" for even the most common locations. Even when the phone signal is full and 3g is on, "please check your signal strength" or "close and restart the gps" shows up. note that doesnt help either. 2)The screen 'glitches' which is very annoying. 3)The motion sensor packed up on my 1st handset, hence you cant play the need for speed game using the motion sensor for example. 4)The 3.2 megapixel has neither a flash or autofocus feature. Note: The 1st three problems were encounted for two of the same handsets.

W760 is a really great phone people! I got the red one and i have been using it for about 3 months now... its even better when i updated by myself! People go for it, get the red and blueish one, the colours match. unlike the grey/black and black/yellow one (these 2 colours dont match ONLY THE RED LOOKS THE BEST). The GPS has gotten mixed reviews for accuracy. I want to get this phone for it's ability to track your distance during exercise but if the GPS is inaccurate whats the point. If you have experience with this phone/ app please let me know.

Personal experience: Phone features are good, but after using it for a few months, I begin experiencing problems when I am on call. This phone has great features including motion detection, but fails at the core function of a phone - to make phone calls. I can't tell you how many times I lose my calla halfway through the conversation, and then I can hear again. Recently it had even begun hanging up on itself. I hate it.

If you are asking if it has 3G and HSDPA internet support, then yes it does. It however does not have 3G video calling.

I don't know what's going on with Sony. The 3G products on the market are low quality. I'm dissapointed. I had a Z750 with a frequency problem, had to change it. Now i'm dealing with W760. The display goes black on and on. The alarm doesn't work rigth. When I'm writing sms, it tilts. I'm sealing it rigth now. I was a Sony fan...they lost me completely.

i think this is the latest firmware the R3CA038 for W760. you can try getting it from the se website. im not exactly sure if this is the latest software, there might be a updated one, so go check it out.

The reastarting isnt a prob if the phone reastarts itself its reporting a problem in the network or if go of and on its searching for signal and if it does get signal the phone wil be normal and if it doesnt get network it switches its signal receiver of so let it save battery most of the SE have this feature

W760 is better, the screen is a bit bigger, it has GPS, and motion sensor, to automatically rotate the screen if you rotate the phone. hope it helps

I've had lagging an freezing issues too, and I have an 8GB card so it's not memory. I think SE gave it a weaker processor than it really needs for the features, in order to increase standby time. I also get music playback stopping for a few seconds. Wait for SE to update the software then get the new ones.

I have both w760i and w910i and w760i is louder then w910i when i play songs on both the same time and its the same song the w910i have a very twity kinda speaker so you hear the instriments better then the voice the w760i you hear the instriments and the voice is much louder so it plays the w910i almose dead in terms of the voice

W910 has a 2MP camera, and W760 has a 3.2MP one. GPS is also a good addition. the prices between the two differ by as much as $50 though. obviously because the latter is a later model. as far as features go, I'd say read the reviews on this site. the walkman introduced a lot of new features for their line of phones on the W910 which was not available (unfortunately) for the newer models. dont quote on this though. my eyes are on the W890.

i've been using this phone for 2 mounths now, & i'm very satisfied with it. it's an awesome phone! this week i noticed something weird about, when i start the walkman or the radio it cuts and stops playing for a few seconds..and sometimes won't start till i push some buttons! the phone sometimes freezes when i use it, even though i have over 300 MB free space and didn't use the phone memory yet...and today, the volume button on the side didn't work, it only shows phone status but not the volume :S..can someone help me with me this please?

If anybody confused between W910 and W760, dont hesitate, just go directly buying the W760. Wanna know why? Here is a list.. -newer than W910 -fun applications e.g. bobblehead, converter -better sound quality than W910 but even though W910 speaker is louder -both 3G phones -GPS for W760 -fun and cool games it comes with 5 cool games -better keypad compared to W910 and W580 -overall better design than W580 and W910 -longer battery life compared to W910 and W580 Overall out of 10 for W760 i give 9/10 cuz the speaker should me louder since its a walkman phone... For W910 i give 7.5/10 cuz its a boring phone, no good games for it, and no fun applications.. For W580 i give a 6.5/10 cuz the keypad sucks, built with really cheap plastic quality (same as W910i), small screen, slider quality sucks, battery life is no good, no cool games and applications, no 3G. Go For W760i!!! Im currently using a really nice hot red one.

You can find Megabass when you plug in your handsfree. Then go to walkman player go to options, then find EQUALIZER. There you go, did that help? Unlike other walkman phones, this is the only phone that needs a headset or stereo speakers in order to go to Equalizer. Kinda sucks though..

I own both w760i and w910i i like more my w760i than w910i w760i has gps a-gps streospeakers atou rotate on interner better media and on w760i you get more fun applications with the fone then w910i and w760i have al the ather stuff that the w910i have the w760i speakers is not alot louder then w910i but it is louder and the w760i sound quility is much much better then w910i the w910i speakers sounds dull and the w760i have a 3.2 mp and w910i have 2mp camera and w760i camera is also much much better then w910i so il say go for w760i ists much more fun

Ya, that should be the latest firmware right? I have the same code in my phone after updating it. I hope there is another update soon and hope the next update would focus more on the speaker to make it louder and clearer, just like the W580i speaker.

The W760 is simply a brilliant phone. SE has got user friendlyness to a tee. The only downside is the PC software. Synchronisation with outlook works like a dream, but browsing the phone and exchanging media is a tedious experience. My model does however more or less reset itself once every now and then. I'll try to update to see wether this solves this problem, and if not contact SE. But even if this issue remains (and doesn't get worse) I still love this mobile.

I wish SE would put in videocall functionality with a new firmware update. Don't mind if it's only video call with the main camera. If they do that I would buy this one.

to whoever has this phone in india or worldwide: can anyone please tell me how long does wayfinder7 take to calculate a route on your handset?does it give only voice directions or also shows them on the screen? mine takes 20minutes everytime to calculate a route,gives only voice commands and if i click on the show map option it does not show any map at all. Is this something wrong with my handset or is it common to all handsets? Please advise. Also in google maps if i click to calculate a route it immediately says "No route found". Its says it so quickly that i feel that it never even tried to search. Please help me on these two problems. Thanks in advance.

After updating the phone, it stops lagging. For the speakers, the sound quality (surround sound) improved when stereo widening is turned on through walkman, otherwise the speaker is pretty much the same. It does not get any louder... That sucks...

After I updated my red W760i I realized that on the walkman for the stereo widening was better. When I turn it on using the speakers, the quality is really good (nice clear sound). When I turn it off, the quality of the speaker disappears but it made my speakers a bit louder. W760 is a really nice phone and also the C702. W760 is the best phone I have ever used from SE. The phone was built with better plastic instead of the really really cheap plastic of the W580i.

This was almost the perfect phone by SE and I was going to buy it, and GPS was really impressive to have. But two things stopped me: No video call support. I realise there's no front video call camera but some SE's can use the main camera for video call. Why not W760? You will need to slide up to use it but that shouldn't be much trouble. I wouldn't use it that often either but it's very nice to have if 3G is available. Also, no camera key. Extremely irritating for a 3.2mp camera phone. That was really disappointing. Shame as this one has an excellent keypad and comfortable keys, which I really liked...

No parts are available in service station. once if this landed in service station,it is better to sale this phone. I purchased this phone,but it showed problem after two months with ear mike. After getting done from service station it worked for two days,and it showed the same problem. SO,friends,just dont buy the w760i...if works very nice phone... If it gets failed...Just sell your phone.

The 980 is better, but this is way cheaper. Choose your poison. Keylock is the same as every other phone: not password protected. You can lock the SIM with a pin code to be entered at startup, and you can lock the phone to stop it being used with another SIM.

i have the black and gold one. excellent phone, overjoyed with. at first, i was scared about the camera after i read the review, but then i realised that gsmarena's photos i don't know how are worse then mine. they were saying that it's like a 1,3 mp snapper. i totally disagree. it is a 3,2 mp snapper with great quality photos, this is a thumb down for gsmarena. i've posted here a picture taken with mine. if u save the pic in you're computer you will see that the writing is clear, everything is clear, a great quality overall of the pic. so go for w760 no matter what the pic review says. :D
