You can´t expand memory and for eliminate protected files you have to connect the Phone via PC and with any Sync program you can edit all on your phone. The charger you can buy it from Amazon, Ebay, Dealextreme, etc. Greetings

I bought my sony ericsson Z520i in 2005 year end. Good phone but this year 2009 it started to have problems... The video function sometimes has repeated screens, then after a few months the phone had white screens and could not be switched on. I'm hoping to cure it... The charger does not really last also. The motorola V8008 thou a 2nd generation phone seems to be more hardy. Still works after about 8years.

What I can see about my Sony Ericsson Z520a is that it was a great phone, I always used the agenda, the calendar, the timer, lots of functions very friendly and easy to use. I really liked it. Unfortunately, after 13 months of use and extremely care with it, it's screen became blank, and the fone stopped to function.

I had the same problem of WSOD. I could receive the calls and could dial the numbers but could not see what's going on. I ordered a flex cable from ebay for $2.99 (+ $2.99 shipping) and replaced it. You have to be very very careful while replacing it as it's a very delicate. But after replacing and switching the phone, it worked like a charm. For $6 my cell phone Z525a is back to track!!!! Good luck with yours.

Zak, Can you please post how the flex cable is disconnected on the back side? I figured out the front (lcd display side), but not sure on the other end, and don't want to break the flex cable. I think ur whitescreen problem is over ^^ cuz i think ur problem is the flex cable of ur lcd just lyk mine they replaced my flex cable of my lcd when i experienced d same problem so bring ur celfone 2 ur service center or celfone repair shop .^^

I cannot download contacts from my Z520 to my 2004 Prius. I believe I follow the confusing instructions in both the Prius and Sony documentation but the process always breaks the connection between the two before transfering the data. Any help available?

i recently had the same problem b/c the LCD screen has died..to replace it with a new screen was not worth it so I bought a damaged phone with a known working screen off Ebay and got the LCD screen swapped. caution..note your IM number,keep all parts and check that the memory in phone is the correct one..This is the cheapest and easiest option as I tried to follow the manual to back up sim but the manual is not set out like Nokia phones. Hope this helps

ummm....u could use the bluetooth file tranfer menu to transfer pix,videos,themes,etc.... juz click the file,send via bluetooth and you'll know what to do next...!!!!

Got the white-screen-of-death the other day out of the blue. Have had the phone for several years. I had to order a different phone and hope the contacts were saved to the sim card using the map menu mentioned a few pages in. If that fails I may open it up and see if the flex ribbon is damaged. They are running about $8 total on Ebay. Other than that the phone was pretty solid for about 3 years. Speaker phone not as loud as I would have liked. Tiny memory for pics and calendar, had to constantly dump pics. Camera constantly being turned on by accident because of side button and I would have to clear out like 15-20 pics of nothing that were eating up my memory. Pre-loaded pics, themes and junk that I could not dump was kinda crappy. Pretty good signal. My battery seemed pretty good.

TY,TY,TY. My son had been treating his z520a like a hockey puck and finally broke the display. He didn't have his contacts saved to SIM so basically he was finished. Using your keystroke map I was able to copy the contacts over. "The day you saved, did you." yoda said.

i've got the phone and i don't think their is a usb port if you mean the one you normally get to connect to the computer then their isn't one that's the only downer i can say about this phone other than that it is excellent can't say a wrong word about it but sadly for me i am getting a new phone soon the samsung j600 yeh yeh yeh.

not a bad phone at all,i hav had mine for 2 and a half years now and i haven't had any problems at all,yeah the memory is only 16mb,wel i only got 13.6mb coz its vodafone,sucks...and of course the camera and it could do wit a mem card as wel,but if u look past that then its fantastic...i dunno how u guys managed 2break your flip and flex cables,this phone is bulletproof,i use it everyday in a workshop...here is a good tip,never drop your phone!!

First: Insert whatever SIM card you would like your phone numbers to go to. Second: Power up the phone, close it and wait approx. 1 minute. (Just to ensure the phone boots up properly) Third: Open the phone and follow these keystrokes. By the way, for clarification let me explain what I call the keys. The upper left most key on the touchpad is what I call the "select" button. The circular touchpad with the "left, right, up, down and enter" keys I call respectively. The center button being the "enter" key. Ok, so here are the keystrokes to download the phone numbers saved to your piece of crap phone onto your SIM card. Open the phone Down Up Up Enter Press Down five times Press select (the most upper left key on the pad) Press Down five more times Press Enter Press Enter Press Select Wait approx 1-2 min. Power the phone down, remove your SIM card and install it in your new phone. From here you can either download the SIM card numbers onto your phone's database using the respective keystrokes on your non piece of junk phone.

I have the same issue of a blank screen on my Sony 525a. I too need to get the numbers. However, without knowing every keystroke to Copy Phone Address Book to SIM, it is not likely. I don't even recall where the cursor goes in the menu to get to the right option. Can anyone provide these step-by-step keystrokes?

Can anyone help me??? I guess I was lucky. I got this phone in March 2006 and had absolutely no problems with it. I finally decided to get a new phone just because my phone was getting old and I didn't want to take a chance on it dying on me and leaving me without a phone (mind you there was nothing wrong with it at the time). Anyway, the very next day the screen went blank. Now I have my new phone, but I did not get a chance to save my info. from the old phone onto my SIM card. I tried the directions that were posted here, twice. It didn't work. I really need to get my information off of my old phone. HELP!!!!!

To Celine, I'm facing the same problem as well. It's my second time actually. The first time I sent it for repair, the service agent told me it's because of a screen problem and she told me it'd maybe due to a shock / drop on the floor . So I wonder if you did drop it on the floor accidentally. For the second time, it's my mistake as I did drop it and the next day, I couldn't see anything and the screen flickered like an old tv :(

you can also send the pictures to your pc through bluetooth, it more or less like my w810i, removing the walkman functions.and the picture quality too. i got mine for about $60.00. you can't complain with that. IT'S REALLY NICE FOR THE PRICE.

About the WSOD: My Z520 just failed recently, so I looked around and found that there is an e-bay store that sells the replacement flex cable. I purchased it ($5), and using a Torx T6 screw driver, I removed 4 screws from under the battery, 2 from under the front cover (what you see when you close the phone), and 2 more under the main display (under those two gray rubber nipples). Then I removed the old flex cable and put in the new one, being very careful to fold it exactly the way the old one was. Finally I put it back together, and it works like new. I recommend this for anyone who has even the slightest electronics experience. The cable just snaps in, the connectors are very easy to work with.

I've had this phone for 1.5 yrs. I like the phone other than the camera. 1) Pic quality is horrible and 2) I constantly have to delete pictures taken from the inside of my pocket. The pic buttons are on the side and you can't turn them off. Due to the camera I am going to upgrade soon.

For bluetooth, setting both to search will not work. Setting 1 to search and 1 discoverable will more likely to work. Hope this help.

Hi guys, I opened up my Sony Ericson Z520i (the part with the keypad) and found out there was a tear in the flex cable. The problem is I can seem to open up the casing of the side with the screen. hey guys bought my phone last nov 16, 2007. got the WSOD problem ur talking about last nov2,2007 / Went to greenhills (Phil) got it checked and fixed (for Php 900.00 -ouch! - quite pricy). the problem is the flex of the fone since its a flip phone it would really abused and im guilty!� so stop whining and get your fone fixed if you want, or why dont sell your phone, by the way if the problem is your lcd that would cost you round Php 1,300.00 not sure if that's for the two screens already, hope this helps.�

I droped mine from quite a hight and now the external screen doesn't work Will reconecting or replacing the flex cable fix this or does it only work with the main screen I could live without the external screen and wouldn't be willing to risk the main screen to fix it

It looks really good inside and out but unfortunately won't last very long. Mine remained suprisingly scratch free from the outside but software went completely crazy after 2 years, the screen doesn't connect anymore, all I get is a blanc screen or spinning imagages of the menu...blaah

Bought in May '05 WSOD Oct '07. Loved the way the phone was set up and the features it had. Listen to the guy with the long email if you saved your numbers to the phone rather than the SIM card it works!! Hopefully Sony will notice the number of failures it launched under its name and repay its customers in some way.Just manufacture a phone that works with the integrity that Sony customers expect!!

Just putting it out there: Thankfully they don�t make this phone anymore. Went through, no lie, 6 of them. Either it would white screen for no reason, randomly stop getting service, or my favorite, the screen would turn blue and start spinning as I would try to use it. Horrible. and even better, each time Cingular would replace my phone with a "rehabbed" one. Half the ones they sent me were white screened straight out of the box. I sent four back before getting one that would actually turn on. Then three months later the screen got gradually darker and started spinning, it finally just died one day. Cingular wouldn�t replace it because the warranty had expired, even though they were the ones who kept sending the defective phones. This phone was such a headache. if you have the choice do not buy it.

Got this phone about 14 months ago, had it die (WSOD) after about 8 months. Got a replacement and was happy with how speedy it was... until last week when my replacement went WSOD. Now I'm 2 for 2 and they wont replace since im over the 1 year warranty.

I brought 2 of this on an Cingular Plan Now AT&T. Both phones had blank screens under the 1yr warrenty at least 2 times. Both phones after the 1 yr period had white blank screens 1 mo before the contract was up. I it used my phone sat it on my desk, picked it back up 5 mins later no LDC white screen. I never dropped it or did it get wet. AT&T said there have been no known problems with LDC.

Just experienced Sony WSOD on 525a. Called AT&T and after they determined I hadn't dropped it, wet it, threw out of a window (you get the picture) - said they would send me replacement. Got it the next day. Three days later - WSOD!!!!! Afer reading all comments, guess we are stuck with a lemon until our contract expires or when we can upgrade - Sept. 08. Very disheartening and I'm upset that AT&T won't let us switch to another phone - even a cheaper one. Guess they are gonna just have to keep shipping us replacements until we find one that works right.

can anyone tell me if the z520a will work in bangladesh (ASIA). Bangladesh uses GSM 900 and the z520a has it.

Ok guys, I just want to give you all a few pointers on the WSOD (White Screen of Death). I'm not a cell phone repairman, but I am well versed in electronics. First off, I'd like to say that if you have already purchased a new phone here is how you can get the numbers off of your old phone and save it to your SIM Card. First: Insert whatever SIM card you would like your phone numbers to go to. Second: Power up the phone, close it and wait approx. 1 minute. (Just to ensure the phone boots up properly) Third: Open the phone and follow these keystrokes. By the way, for clarification let me explain what I call the keys. The upper left most key on the touchpad is what I call the "select" button. The circular touchpad with the "left, right, up, down and enter" keys I call respectively. The center button being the "enter" key. Ok, so here are the keystrokes to download the phone numbers saved to your piece of crap phone onto your SIM card. Open the phone Down Up Up Enter Press Down five times Press select (the most upper left key on the pad) Press Down five more times Press Enter Press Enter Press Select Wait approx 1-2 min. Power the phone down, remove your SIM card and install it in your new phone. From here you can either download the SIM card numbers onto your phone's database using the respective keystrokes on your non piece of junk phone. Ok, next, just a bit of advice, there is typically a very small ribbon cable (I believe they are called flex cables on cell phones) that attach from the base (where you dial) into the headset (the pretty picture screen). If you have a small enough torx screwdriver or perhaps even a small enough jeweler's screw driver you may be able to remove the screws off the back of the phone (in the battery compartment) and inspect the ribbon cable. Almost any nick, fray, or other mark on the cable can cause the WSOD. You may be able to order a flex cable off of the internet and replace it. If the cable looks good you may want to slightly jiggle the connection to it and make sure it is nice, snug, and secure. Put the phone back together and see if it works. If not, on to the next step. I do not recommend this for someone who is not well versed with electronics or does not know how to properly solder. I will not be responsible for damages done to phones, this is merely a suggestion, try it at your own peril. If you have access to a decent magnifying glass and a decent soldering iron (if you don't know what a decent soldering iron looks like you may want to stop right here) you may want to inspect the solder joints on the circuit cards themselves. If you see burned marks (I doubt you will but don't rule it out) than you're probably not going to fix it. However, inspecting all of the solder joints closely (especially ones close to the ribbon cable) look for cracked solder. Often enough, these cell phones are built in mass production labs and the solder is barely applied. Use a small but appropriate amount of solder and apply it to the worst looking places. DO NOT HOLD IT THERE for too long. I'd recommend using solder paste and/or flux and afterwards brushing it off with an acid brush and some rubbing alcohol. Be sure to let it completely dry before reassembling the phone. If this still does not fix it, I hope you saved your phone numbers to the SIM card already :D Time to get a new phone and/or flex cable if you're really determined to fix it.

I loved this phone for everything it had (esp. the ability to have different ringtones for different people, ringtones that you could record, no less) and out of nowhere, last saturday, got hit with the famed "white screen of death". it's out of warranty since july, and it would cost $135 to repair it. lost photos, numbers, audio, messages...sadness.

hi, this phone has been with me for more than 3 yrs and it's still working very well.. only occasionally will hang when playing games for too long, and poor batt life.. overall i still love it, esp the soft keypad.

Damn screen just failed. One minute everything was fine, the next minute I've got the "white screen of death." This phone was great up until about 20 minuites ago. Sounds like it is a well documented fault. Damn it! Best things: - The most intuitive menu I've seen. - Easy Bluetooth sync with Outlook Calendar and Contacts.

same issue with the blank white screen!! sad, because it was a good phone, nice to use. about six months ago it threw a tantrum, blank white screen when fully open or a regular screen but it moved it and out of the frame really fast...very weird/annoying. was told by an independent repair person (NOT assc with S.erric) thats its a design fault with the LCD cable that runs up from the bottom shell. also, at times has cut me off mid phone call or seems to 'lose' the battery and turn itself off. the 1st time it went mental (3 weeks out of warranty) i put it in to get fixed, took nearly 2 weeks to get back (and the front closed screen has never worked since) 6 months later its doing the same thing again, after having it for about 1.5 years I have given up on it,

Hello everybody, I agree with 'yap'. Same to me, I own the phone for 1.5 yrs now, with good handling and care, but the phone just became dead recently. Just as Yap has mentioned, mine turns out blank - a white screen. There was no sign of problem before and it just died on me when I was setting up my alarm clock. Guess this phone must have a short life span and not durable. Also, agreed with 'phonecritic', that you can't delete the useless tones and things in the phone coz they are protected files. This holds up memory space and it's worse that it doesn't have expandable memory (like a mini-SD card slot).

I've only had this phone for 3 days now,its hard for me to get used to it after owning nokias for so long.I dont like not having the 1-touch speed dial that I'm used to and the battery life really sux.(where do they get that the phone has up to 400 h. standby time and 9 h. talktime..mine is brandnew and goes dead in a day and a half,and thats without talking on it or using anything else for that matter). I,ve owned much better phones.This one is not highly recommended...its more of a cosmetic chick phone.

I always have good impression on Sony Z520i but I guess I'm wrong. Lately it has started to give me problems as the internal screen keeps on flickers like an old TV, and sometimes it just turns blank. As a result, I need to send it for repair. For your lil' info, I've been having Z520i for almost a year and a half and there's no rough handling or whatsoever as I love my phone to bits. Well, I gotta say I'm truly disappointed.

I had this phone. It is certainly not a good phone for me. The only thing good about the phone is the keypad is really confortable, large, and the out look is good and there're two screen which is good when taking photo for yourself. The bad thing is.. there's a music player, but only 16mb memory. What's the point of having a music player. The memory is barely enough for the pictures not to mention for the songs. The treble is too high for the speaker. It hang sometimes. Camera quality is not good. If you just one a phone with basic function, it will be a good phone. If you want much more, this is definately not your option. I am using N73. Felt real good of changing. Only bad, z520i keypad is better than N73. haha..

After more than 6 months, my phone is still working (contrary to others). I guess it's just a matter of how you take care of your phone. For others, it's probably because you bought a previously-owned phone, plus the fact that this phone is already OLD by current industry standards. There are tons of newer and slicker phones out there so it's really quite a surprise that there are still people who are still interested, let alone still talking about this one. This phone needs to be at the bottom of the Mississippi River. I have had it almost a year. It has been replaced under warrenty 4 times. The pictures are terrible. Thank Goodness they are going to replace it with a motorola. Hope I have better luck with it!

Sony Ericsson Z520 is not designed to be mainly as an mp3 player. If you really want a cellphone/mp3 player, you should have bought any W series (walkman phone series).

For people who bought the second hand phone, I suggest you use the master reset. But if you ask me, I do not recommend buying a second-hand phone, unless it is in "mint" condition or "almost brand new condition" or "slightly used". the one who's asking about bluetooth; 1.you have to buy a bluetooth stick 2.then you have to download the software 3.then you put the stick in de usb exit 4. Open bluetooth in your cellphone 5. searh for other bluetooths I hope u understand it a bit! =)

I have had this phone for almost a year and it works well. Im thinking either you didnt take care of your phone well enough or you just have a bad one. The only problem is I think there should be a bit more memory and the picture taking button on the outside takes pics when i dont want to. But i know it does that because there is pressure on the button so it takes a picture. But overall I like it because it has the recording thing so you dont have to buy songs and it has bluetooth. I would give it a 8.2 outta 10

I think this phone's image is literaly smacked down by this comments. i have this phone for over 8 months and is working great. the memory can be larger if you delete some aplicattions ...so starting with 16 mb you can end up with 18 . is not much but is something. the mp3 player is GREAT. the saoun is very good and very loud.is has a fast procesor too , easy menu , perfect for navigating on the internet . yea...the camera is not so good but hey...nobody is perfect , nobody can do it all. the design is great , is a litght weight phone..is just great. i dont understand wh you guys are saying about the camera button or about freezing because i havent had these problems...and i want to tell you that i dont take care of my phones. and its still resist. i tjink if anyone who is planing to buy this phone and he is looking at this comments he will change his mind...and is not good . the peoples should buy this phone and not listen this comments....because he or she will might regret it..or worse he could end up with a far more worse phone than this one is .so buy this phone dont hesitate looking at these comments. just buy it and you wont regret it .

Yeah, I agree with most of you guys that the camera is not top notch compared to the other cellphones (especially from Nokia). Also, there seems to be no way to turn off the sound the shutter produces whenever you use the camera.

I have the exact same problem too. Phone worked fine for about 6 months, then suddenly the display just went all white, the outer display still works, but the phone is practically useless now... except maybe as a fancy watch ^_^

To the one asking about the USB and computer connectivity, this phone and the W800 got the same charger and data cable. If cable's not available, use bluetooth. It's quite convenient. Of course if we are comparing z520i from the very popular w800i, the later is of course better in almost all aspects.

In think that this phone is very good. I got it for christmas 2005 so all these people whos broke within the first few months must have just have had a bad batch of them. I do agree that the camera is a bit blury at first but if you go onto the settings you can change it and the camera then takes a better picture. Th video can also be changed (it is altered to be sent by MMS) I must admit that the memory isnt very good especially if you are trying to store music. Then I found the record tool. You can record for a large ammount of time and it doesn't take up as much space.

Waste of money.... After every 3 months the screen would go blank. So much hassle for repairs took them one month. Consider Asus V66 or Sony W810 instead.

DONT BUY THIS PHONE!!!! My wife and I purchased two models of this phone from Cingular and have already had to go through five phones and we've only had them since March 06!! The camera consistantly takes pics, the screens go blank, the phone powers off randomly, the phone sometimes freezes up completely and only works again after taking the battery out and putting back again. The buttons stop working after a while. I went to Cingular, but they told me it was Sony's problem. Sony says it is Cingular's problem. SO- now I'm between two companies that are refusing to help me. Do yourself a favor- don't buy this piece of crap!!!!!!

Z520i is actually one of the most "bargain" or "very affordable" flip phones by SE (especially in the Philippines). It is good for ladies (actually for boys too) who wants a simple phone with camera. It is good if you are in a tight budget and wants a phone with cam, bluetooth, infra, gaming, internet and 16MB memory. On the other side, this is not the best phone for people who wants to use their cellphones as an MP3 player (like I said, 16MB max, no optional external memory). Doesn't have FM radio too. It has a browser but with 16MB memory, expect it's processor to be slower compared to phones with larger memory. If you want a pretty-looking phone with the basic features like camera, complete with bluetooth and infra, then get this phone. Also, this phone has been in the market for over a year, so as expected, it's technology has dwarfed compared to newer models. No 3G technology too. It's a simple phone, but a cute one at that! I have this phone for almost 4 months and it's still working fine.

This phone is the best I've ever seen - great looks, very user-friendly, and nice ringtones. Sending messages is very easy, I connect to the computer using an infra red adaptor, it's small enough to fit in my purse, and best of all, it's got feminine appeal. Had it for over 8 months now and wouldn't trade it in for anything else.

i owned this phone for about 5 months. the good: -ringtones are really loud -texting is easy cos the keypad is very soft -calls are clear and loud -battery lasts quite long [3 to 4 days] and can even go on tho its almost flat -the mp3 songs play really well, very clear and nice -calendar is easy to use -delivery reports are convinient, they just show a tick mark when they are sent -the name of the person/pic who sent you the text msg appears so u know immediately who sent the msg as opposed to nokia's 'one msg received' the bad: -the camera sucks -i dropped my phone really hard and the internal lcd cracked.will cost rm180 to replace -the fonts are kind of small.don't get it, you might have to squint if your above 35 :P -internal memory is very small overall: a good phone if your looking to buy a phone that doesnt cost alot of money and that has got good features.don't drop the phone tho, you might crack the sensitive lcd

i skate board and ive lost this tumbling down the street and never broke the screen or anything. i like it alot. i just dont like how slow it is when you turn it on rite quick to check a # it takes forever to access the phone book the first time. and when its in my pocket it constantly takes pic after pic. cause all u have to do is hold down this external button for 2 secs and i do when im leaning on it or sitting and then after ev/time u hit the button it takes a pic or vid, using up all the memory eventually and making it so when u gota look through your stuff it takes forever to delete the crap. also the video isnt that good. and when you have a song for use as an alarm it stops playing after so long. u dont get to hear the hole thing. but all the rest of the phone is great and i wouldnt trade it for anything else just yet.

Mine died after 3 months. Water damage so no replacement, but if you take out battery and SIM and look at connector, there is a hole from outside direct to electronics. Not at all watertight, so be carefull

Have 2 of these phones.. on word tells it all.. TERRIBLE. Both the displays went out within 6 months. Sony will not repair says were dropped, and they were not. Then sony voided the warranty completly. One of the phones has stopped working altogther. My carrier informed me that the display is a know problem with the phone. Advoid at all cost

I bought this phone one year ago yesterday and I have had to replace it already. About two weeks ago the screen went white. I can no longer see any of my displays. The two times the display came back, it was like looking at an old television without cable. The display rolled so much I almost got seasick. This is the worst phone I have ever had. I am so disappointed that I invested any money in it at all. I can't possibly recommend it to anyone.

Had this phone for about 1 month. The camera is just ok. Had problem one times in this 1 month..The screen turned white suddenly. Wonder what happened and now repaired. The keypad is easy to press. Suitable for people who sms frequently. Overall it's just ok, not the best. But not the worst because of the design.

I've had this phone for a year and so far had been very happy with it. The only problems I could find were that you couldn't turn off the noise of the camera, even when it was on silent, this would be very annoying if it went off by mistake in your bag. Also, the memory is really really small, esp if you want to have mp3s and videos on it. Recently however, my bluetooth has decided to stop working, and I've had it for less than a year! But it is a good little phone for its price anyway

Do not buy this phone. I bought it for my sis, and in just exactly 1 year (just after the warranty period!), the screen went BLANK! She repaired it but of course at a cost, and after a few days, it shuts down by itself! TOTALLY OUT!

What I really liked and noticed with this phone was that the battery last long and u dont have to charge it so often. My disappointment came when it after 5 month started to shut off by itself every second day. It happend after when I tried to put the pictures into the computer wich was very complicated to do and I still havent put them yet.

I have had mine replaced 3 times now. Sony Ericsson has the worst replacement policy. They told me i have to buy the update kit (a total of 90 dollars) to see if the updates it needed would fix it before returning it. So, i went through my phone company and they replaced my phone. Now, i am getting the z525a, hopefully it will be better. I love the phone, its easy to use, user friendly, and complex for loads of entertainment. But the glitches and bugs drive me nuts. Its not worth it.

i recently bought this phone without consulting first the reviews or whatever (it's cute and it's sony). I'm a bit embarrassed because after reading the reviews, apparently, this z520i is a girlie phone (lolz to me!). But the functions are there especially for a dude like me who doesn't care much about additional features. It's cheap! Yeah, there's no additional memory for this one (which means 16MB is already max). Plus the package doesn't include the headset and USB cable for computer connectivity. To make it more "manly", get the silver frame with blue covers! Also, no KEYPAD lock so be warned that if you put this in your pocket, the external shutter button might operate the camera and have pictures taken in your pocket! p.s. I'm a bit worried though with it's sturdiness. Does it really break at one drop or it doesn't even last for a year (as some users have put it because it breaks easily?)

Then it started freezing up, animated images started becoming glitchy, mp3 ringtone functionality would stop working until i reboot, and occasional random lockups. I got this phone in feb 2006 and it has been only 8 months and now the phone is playing up.The screen freezes,it drops out,makes stupid noises while i'm trying to talk to my partner.I sent it away to be fixed and they said it had liquid regression in the volume switch which i don't understand how this occured. But now they are telling me that if i put it through insurance i will not get the same phone back but instead i will have it replaced with a V600i. I think this phone is ugly and it isn't a flip phone but they are telling me the only way i can get a different phone is to compare the functionality of the seZ520 to the V600i. I think this is wrong as i don't want a phone that doesn't flip down... So Beware....

ive been using it less than a year.roughly bout 10 months.no maybe nine.i was so estatic wen i bought it.it had evrything.bluetooth n infrared(most phones comes with either not both),u can record conversations n it's comes out clear.the camera is a bit gammy but hell it's a phone not a camera!n i could assigned diff lites n ringtones n pix to individuals instead of groups.n i loved the idea of opening the flip to answer calls.loved the whole phonebook system and the batt lasts long.evrything was in lala land UNTIL few weex ago the screen started going white and i hafta shut it off and on it and after much difficulty the lcd decides to work.then i cant close it as it would turn white again.it's at a reasonable pricing but then i'm now questioning it's life span..and sumtimes it hangs.but not for long but still the nonexistent screen is making my life that bit hard coz i cant read my messes and i have no clue who is calling or who im calling.all and all it was good while it lasted.well im plnng to repair this SE of mine n getting a SLVR L7 s a spare.sigh it's such a good hp to b wasted.it was good while it lasted..

It might not have all the stuff like in other phones and the outer display isn't that good and the memory is limited, but it's light, looks good and nice & easy OS. i have this phone for over 6 months now and hasn't experience any problem with the side buttons. my only concern is that i can't read my text whenever im outside the building with the sun shining. i think it has something to do with the internal screen. anyways for those of you having problems wit the side buttons, all you need do is buy a transparent plastic casing (like the ones we have here in the philippines). it will give you some allowance (a few millimeters i guess) in thickness so you don't accidentally click or push the side buttons.

a good way to fix phones with a crack in the screen is to pop them in a airtight bag and stick them in hot water and then straight into the freezer. The bag must be airtight or you'll wreck your phone but if you do it right - hey presto- the screen will be fixed.

What is the difference between the Z525 and Z520 besides the memory? Z525 has 12mb and PTT and Z520 has 16mb and it comes in white finish. I'm getting the Z525a that Cingular is offering and i thik i would rather get the Z520 for the memory and white finish.

i have this phone for over 5 months now and let me tell you, THE PHONE IS GREAT!! I hear people talk about the side camera key being too sensitive, thats not a prob for me. And yes you can switch to silent ( using the # sign. My only prob is that yeah the dirt gets in little cracks on the phone BUT IF YOU DONT SHOW ANYONE, THEY WONT SEE IT. I also like the fact that it comes with changeable cover GREAT!! Anyone wanting to buy this phone go ahead. You get both bluetooth and infared so you are not limited as to how u receive ringtones and did i tell you that you can also record your ringtones? YES SIR You can also record the conversation you are having on your phone, TRUST ME THE PHONE BAD!! Anoher great feature is that you can have two diferent display pic, External and internal (and when i say different, i mean you on the inside, your baby on the outside) I SPENT THIS TIME WRITING THESE FEATURES BECAUSE PPL ONLY TALK CRAP, THEY HAVENT GONE THROUGH THE PHONE BUT THEY R PUTTING IT DOWN.

I had this phone untill around a fortnight ago. I love'd it.. untill i was out in the rain and it got wet in my pocket. The navigation and buttons on the side of the phone broke.. I've had this phone for about 8 months now and I LOVE it. Yes, it might take a pic or two while in my purse, but it's not hard to just go back and delete them. Real ringtones sound GREAT and pics come out surprisingly clear. The personalized light effects are VERY NICE! My fav is that you can assign a ringtone to each person instead of only groups, like others. If you like this phone, I'd say definitely go and buy it!

i bought this phone 4 weeks ago. i liked it the first day, then day after day, i slowly started not liking it, as for these reasons. 1.it takes tons of pics while im walking and its in my purse or pocket, and u cant lock the button. 2. u cant clean it very easily if theres dirt caught in places, like i could on my previous phones. 3. i tripped in the stairs while the phone was in my hand yesterday, and the phone barely fell out of my hands, and only made a tiny thump an inch of a drop, and now 4 buttons dont work, so i cant call anyone and it keeps turning on and off by itself constantly so i had to remove the battery and SIM card to make it shut up. 4.before i hurt myself in the stair accident, i was at six flags and had my phone in my pant pocket as i am riding a ride where u get wet. a big wave comes, gets me wet, and only seconds after, i take the phone out of my wet pocket, it wouldnt start at all. so after 2 weeks it finally started, and the side camera button didnt work at all, so i guess i DID find a way to lock the stupid side camera. 5. this phone was kinda alot of money, especially for only lasting a month. so i say its the worst phone ever, and theres no other phone out there in my neighborhood store that i want. so im currently phoneless. i would say that the sony ericcson isnt worth the $150 or something bucks. its worth $-150 , i should get PAID 150 bucks to live wwith that horrible phone. i hate that phone. so dont buy it if ur thinking about it.

When you install the Bluetooth you connect your mobile to the bluetooth!Then you will see an icon which is like a GSM.It will be named Z520 or something else.Then you click twice on the GSM and up above you will see icons marked in yellow.Then you click on an icon that is like two papers or something like that ( when you move the mouse on the icons you will see their names ),and you are in the transfer place!There are different folders with the names of the folders in your GSM ( e.g. - Pictures,Music,etc. )!I hope you understood where is the transfer place!

For your 6th and 7th oppinion I have the same prob. and for the fast calling with the buttons ( e.g. "2" ),but for the other I don't have any prob. and I hope that I won't have in future!To write the mobile or home phone or office phone you just have to write the number,then you press "ok" and then the you are asked if you want to place it as a mobile phone or office phone etc.!I hope that you will find it!

I just got this phone, and while the phone seems to have all the features I want, and does have great reception, it does have a few faults. Here's what I don't like: 1) No way to quickly adjust your ring volume and switch between silent, vibrate, soft, loud etc. All other phones I've had allowed you to press the side buttons on the phone (when not on a call) and adjust the ring style. Sony gives you "phone status". What's that? Who cares! You can switch between "silent and ring" with the "#" key, but it's not at all as easy or user friendly as every other phone I've had (and I've had a lot!). 2) No One-touch speed call. Every other cell phone I've ever had allowed you to press and hold a number (e.g. "2") and it would dial the speed call number associated with that number. Instead it takes two keys, you have to press the speed call number followed by "call". 3) Non Industry Standard Send/End buttons. Every other phone I've ever had used the second key down on the left and right for Send/End. Sony uses the top Soft-keys for this. Annoying, but you do get used to it. 4) Only one phone number per contact. You can't store the mobile, work, home etc. phone numbers under a single contact, you have to create separate entries for each phone # 5) Long delay between opening phone and being able to speak. Once you answer an incoming call (i.e. open the phone), it takes 1-2 seconds for the phone to actually connect the call. My other flip phones worked right away. 6) No way to delete Sony/Cingular canned pictures on the phone. These little ugly cartoons are in the list of pictures. They come with the phone and you can't get rid of them. I want them gone! 7) Speaking of pictures, there is that annoying tendency to take pictures every time you open the phone. That camera button is way too sensitive. That's it so far. It's hard for me to like the phone with so many pet peeves.........

I have this phone for 7 months! ever since i got it the screen keeps goin blank and recently it hasnt been charging properly! its a lovely phone to have when it works properly . . which unfortunatly isnt very often! i think that there should be a lock on the button on the side for the camera. . . its taken way too many photos of the inside of my bag!

Not to sure about the password protection thing...but I know most sony ericssons have a phone lock after you turn it on which can be activated. mine, T637 , had one and I know earlier and some later versions which had one two. Excellent Phone. It is surely a phone which attracts everyone around you at Sight. The lights around the keypad is great. It does not have a memory card slot. For me it is not a problem, since i constantly updates ringtones, games and applications via pc bluetooth. The phone controls pc like a mouse using built in remote desktop. If you are looking for next model like z530 it is a worst decesion you will ever make. 530 looks great but its camera resolution is less compared to 520 and it does not have side lights, which looks great when phone rings.

Well well, in the beginning its amazing! But it has really bad problem.You will notice the problem after some time...the problem has nothing to do with any technical etc thing, everything within the phone works just fine like it should be. Actually only thing it's missing is the memorycard slot. But anyways the major problem of this phone is are the plastic "windows" that shield both displays, they have designed a cool looking phone etc but have they really used it them selves? After it has been in your pocket for sometime it will start collecting dust/dirt everything between the "plastic windwos" it looks really bad when you watch those screens, dark dirt all around the screens. Yes well it's easy to clean with pressured air at the start but after sometime the dirt starts to stay there. So good phone but some major design problems with in the outer casing. If you buy it, dont but it into your pocket! just keep it in your hand or table. :)

Amazing phone. Dropped in puddle of water, outside buttons and inside buttons stopped working for short while, but then they fixed themselves! My phone has been dropped at least 50 times on cement and still works perfectly. Syncs with my mac well, send files pictures easily. Good design, very customizable. Make your own themes and edit your pictures with this phone. Also make your own movies. Excellent phone.

i just got mine few days ago. seems ok. I had a samsung clam shell previously but no bluetooth or infra. You're right that the opening mechanism is not as smooth as the samsung and the screen take a while to light up. got is cos its quite good value for money but don't like the speaker

I have this phone since feburary! It is a great phone it has great memory,but the battery only lasts me 1-2 days.The Camera is great quality but you cannot turn off the camera sounds and once or twice during class my fone has taken a picture in my pocket and i got in trouble. There is a camera button on the side of the fone and it always presses in my pocket,but other than that it is a GREAT phone! Buy it!

And if you think about it, the sony ericsson z520 phone's appearance is amazing that when that came up with the newer version of our phones, which is the z525a, they still kept the same z520 phone appearance, features and everything. The only thing different about it is that the z525 has ptt( push to talk). But stil this is a very good phone, and I will keep on saying this until something goes wrong with my phone.

I've had the phone for six months. It was great while it worked. One day half of the inside display went dead -the phone still worked though. It went to service under guarantee and after the change of the display the phone just started to collapse. The outside display is a blur, the mic and speakerphone produce a distorted high-pitched sound and all my personal settings fail to be saved in the profile customization. It is a fine phone but now (after the 2nd visit to service)I'm only looking forward to my next upgrade in October. Pity!

Hie.. I've been using this phone since february. And the first month has been great but defects started to show out during march. The phone signal keeps droping and the reception is very bad. besides, there is a major problem with the software. Whenever i do any setting changes to it, it constantly return to is default factory setting after 2-3 days. This happen even after i updated my software. I'm also frustrated with the side camera button which is so sensitive, it constantly take photo by itself... when i'm on the phone and keeping it in my pocket. The worst problem of all is whenever I recharge the battery, it will auto swith off by itself when my alarm rings, incoming phone, and incoming sms. I've send it 3 times to the SE service centre and they even change a new motherboard for me. but all these problem still exist. If you are thinking of buying this phone.. please consider well~! I regretted so much! CHEERS~!

I've had a z520i for 6 months now and it's great. The only thing that's annoying about it is the sensitivity of the side camera button. It's constantly taking photos of the inside of my pocket with the loud camera sound effect that cannot be turned off. We have 3 of these phones in our family - looked cool, had great possibilities. However, after only 4 months ALL three phones have several problems. They take pictures randomly, shut off by themselves, won't turn on, screen goes blank, can't tell if a call has been made or not, rings or vibrates - you have no control. We've met 3 other people with same phone and same problems. Are all looking for a new phone. Don't bother to purchase this phone - you'll just have to get another soon.

Hi i bought this phone in December and thought it was great until last month when it was losing network etc and was left to be repaired by 02 they said it couldnt be fixed as condensation had got it to it? which i think was aload of rubbish.. so dont buy this phone i have contacted o2 and sony and they wouldn't replace the phone.. and another thing it used to switch itslef off and flicker and freeze.. not a good buy..

Design is great,it has a quick software with nice features so easy to use. It is good transfering device with its bluetooth v2.0 and infrared. 0.3 VGA cam is alright but pictures are not so clear. Only minus is a small memory only 16mb and no add. card.

As for putting Mp3 into this phone, you can do so by editing the mp3s of your choice with a mp3 maker software and transfer them via bluetooth. since this phone is just 16 mb, all can do is to transfer just the chorus part of the song. and believe me, you can store up to 10 mp3s (or even more). I've been having this phone since Dec 2005 and until now, I still love it to bits. I gotta say it's a great phone. :)

well.. i definitely love this phone so much! i have this phone for almost one and a half month still it looks so brand new! the main disadvantage of this phone is its poor memory, you cant store too many mp3s, but mp3 isnt important anymore, what matters is the great functions and features of this phone. i love this phone much better than my old k700i. eventhough this phone had no usb port or radio, radio is isnt important its just a lame feature , plus, the z520i is light and easy to carry unlike k700i its way too eavy... we had our presentation last january and i still had to let anyone hold my phone for while coz its too heavy unlike z520i its always in my pocket! i love z520i! lots to this phone!

16mb is a bit too small to keep songs as 3-5 songs can actually take up the whole phone's memory. Still, it makes a good transfering device with its bluetooth v2.0 and infrared. Nice features, nice design, able to take slf potrait. 0.3 VGA cam is alright but the displaying pixels is a little too small. Pictures are not that clear. Also, the camera clicking sound is annoying and can't be turned off. At times, it will turn off itself..So its quite annoying if u r handling sumthin important. Calls are slow as you might need to speak hello twice when u answer calls at times. Flip design makes it an ideal phone for moderate user as it offers a wide variety of games and players, and even an OPERA mini web browser!

Honestly, if you're looking for an MP3 phone, this isn't the right phone for you. You can fit approximately 3-5 full songs on there, depending on the size of your song files... it's a good idea to cut up your mp3 files if you want to use them as ringtones, and that way you can fit a whole heap of ringtones. With average sized pictures, they take up little space so you can fit lots of them in... Does anyone know how to switch the camera button sound off? Even on silent mode, the phone makes that annoying 'camera click' sound when pressed!

At first I thought this phone was fantastic, i haven't had it long but it keeps freezing, crashing, turning itself off & on the front screen when i press the button that activates the phone status it's white & i can't see any writing at all unless i tilt it down & i can just about make out what it says, which is also what happens when someone phones. I was writing a text one night which contained 10 texts in one & just before i finished it the phone switched itself off & i lost all the text! arrrgh! When i answer the phone i have to say hello twice because people don't hear me the first time.... Does anyone else have the same problems? I;m upset as i thought i was a sony ericsson convert when i first got it but my next phone will have to be a good old nokia:-)

Yep,i finally got this phone..2 days ago!Until now,i had no problems at all with it.The only thing that happened and it was my fault was that i deleted a game in the phone.Don't ask how i managed to do that...anyway,i was wondering if there is any way to get it back?maybe if i reset the phone or something...? thanks!

Karthy.. Z520 is the generic name. Z520i is for international. Same as Z520a is for the americas and Z520c is for china

If your phone is on Vodafone, they have software that stops you using downloaded MP3s as ring tones unless you buy from Vodafone Live. Other Operators O2 etc don't.

you CAN use mp3 as ringtone ... the reason y it doesnt' work for you is probably b/c ur service provider has locked this feature... to my knowledge, i haven't heard of any providers which does this.. best way to transfer files is by using bluetooth

Transferred MP3'd can not be used as ringtones because the software on almost all phones when tranferring files via bluetooth or USB will lock them out to use as MP3. the easiest way to get files as ringtones is cutting down the size to 25-30 secs and upload them with www.mobstorage.com. free website and really easy to use as long as you have internet on your phone.

I purchased this phone last weekend - I absolutely love the design of the phone (Mine came with the silver and a nice orange coloured cover), it fits so snuggly in my hand, and the loop antenna which I thought might be a nuisance is actually quite a good holding-device which stops the phone from dropping on the ground! Battery life is quite good - I had a black and white dinosaur phone previously, and I never really had to charge it, so I was a bit surprised when in about 4 days my battery was about 40%, but apparently that's pretty normal for a coloured-screen phone (according to a friend). I reckon if I kept playing that addictive quadrapop game though, it would have drained even faster! I love the customizable wallpapers (both on external and internal screens) and the customizable themes. You can transfer your own mp3 songs/ringtones from your computer... I can fit about 3 full songs on at the moment with 5MB still to spare (I guess it really depends on your song size), but I still have to find a program where you can cut up your mp3's to make them smaller... (anyone have any suggestions?) Texting is a breeze, I, being a nokia user practically all my 'phone life' was a little worried that I wouldn't be accustomed to the texting, but T9 is actually very convenient, however I don't really like how 'you' comes up as 'wou' as a first option. Besides that, texting became very easy the second time I tried it. Before I purchased this phone, I read alot of comments about the side camera button being very sensitve. I can ASSURE you, that they must have fixed later batches or something, because I tried numerous times to bump the button or accidently push it, and nothing happened. Then I tried actually purposely pushing the button softly, but the camera still did not appear. I actually have to hold the side camera button down (HARD) for a full 3 seconds before the camera screen appears, so I have no problem with accidently taking pictures. The menu is very easy to use and navagate. The Music DJ option is really fun to use. The camera is actually not too bad, images come out a little dark, so I suggest taking the pictures in quite a bit of light... same goes for the video camera, but that is awsome awsome fun to play around with and record people with! It's true that when you open the flip cover, the screen sort of flickers on and off for like, half a second, I'm not sure if this is meant to happen, but it's a minor issue (at the moment) and does not affect me greatly. Calls are very clear, the only time it's a but fuzzy is when I'm underground or on the train, but that might be due to the train lines or something, but outdoors and indoors the reception is very good. Just one quiery - is there a place where you can place mobile dangly accessories, or do you have to hang it on the loop antenna? I can't seem to find a place where they could go... Overall (if you actually read through all this!), I think this is a wonderful phone for the cheap price I got it at... I really do recommend the orange colour too - very nice :) Hope this helps someone!

I had a problem with my SE Z520i. I bought it, because it is cute, stylish, has MP3, camera, etc. But when I tried to downloud some MP3 songs from internet or another phone by bluetooh, it COULDN'T.. It downlouded only half a song and stopped. Anyway, I gave it to fix, and now everything is perfect. Now I can listen to MP3 songs :)Just it could have more memory for songs or pictures. But I'm glad to have this stylish phone and recommend it to all my friends :)

I'm from Argentina, I got the z520 a month ago and buying iy has been a grear decision! The phone has almost evertyhing you need except for FM radio. The 16 Mb are fine considering that other phones like RAZR, nokia 1601, etc. has only 5 Mb. The audio is graet and the pictures have good quality. I totally recomend this phone to everyone, mine is blue and it's perfect for boys, it turns girlish with a pink. The only two problems are the camera bottom (too exposure, and sensitive) and the main screen, it is easy to scratch, and you just can's use when it's sunny.

@Eli: Hi Eli. The 16MB memory can't be upgraded :( because it's an integrated memory-not flash (with card slot) so you can't upgrade it. Even if you upgrade it mechanicly(nearly to impossible) the phone won't register that. So you will use your 16MB. Enough if used wisely! :) Later.

I was so excited to get this phone, I had the Z500 previously and just loved it but decided to get this one for the Bluetooth capability. I have not disappointed with the problems with the camera button, the memory problem and constantly having to charge it. Going to just suck it up and the Razr. I wished it would have worked out better because I really dig the SE phones. Oh well, it's always something, huh?

it's a very good instrument with a lot of flexability. good talk and stand by time.the hbh 610 wireless earset adds another dimension to this feature packed device.get yourself a second phone battery keep it charged and in the carying pouch and your set. uploading pictures from a pc to the z520a can be a problem, sony's free download software did not work for me I had to use the software that came with the bluetooth usb dongle. once i figured that out it was a breeze, now i have my own start up screensavers and background. It's just too bad we can't erase those silly installed icons. if you commute and talk, get the hbh610 it could save your life. shellback semper fi

i also upgraded with cingular wireless from a nokia 5190 to the 520a. it's ok with the reception here in the silicon valley and it's sort of easy to use. i also have the sonyericsson hbh610 ear set (that's really what it should be called) and the handsfree thing works just fine especially for voice dialing.the only problem i had was trying to transfer my own jpg.photos into the phone via blue tooth from my p.c.the free software at sonyericsson.com did not work at all i had to use to software that came with the usb bluetooth dongle using copy and paste. then i was able to send and recieve pictures with ease using adobe elements 3 to reduce them to 320x240 and a smaller file size.too bad we can't erase the installed photos, they suck!!! shellback semper fi

This phone is almost perfect. When we upgrade our Cell one contract to GSM, I went with a RAZR, my wife went with a SE Z500. The error of my ways became apparent within the first day. We live in rural MN, I could give a plugged nickel about my phone functioning as a camera or MP3 player. I have the appropiate toys for these purposes. I do however, want my phone to work well as a phone.. there's a concept. The first day, my wife and I are playing with the new phones and she has great signal anywhere in the house. Meanwhile, me an my RAZR are hugging the windows, looking at the deer and trying to make a call. Two (2) RAZRs later... I could only recieve and make calls if I had a full 5 bars of signal. 4 or less equals "Call Failed". Yes, my wife is calling everyone on her Z500 like its a damn landline. Now, if you live in rural MN, you already know that the only time you are going to get five full bar signal strength is when you strike the cell tower with your car. So...I've had it. I go to my dealer, he tells me about the Z520. I buy it and it is so apparent the this phone rocks. My RAZR sits there with "Emergency Only" on the screen while I use my Z520 and it sounds like a landline. Hello Moto?... you suck dirty socks. Now the con... and it seems so silly that it just has to be an oversight given how well the Z520 functions. Yes, it is the damn camera button that everyone is talking about. At first, I thought these people were placing the clamshell phone in there pocket in the open position. Then reality strikes, if the external shutter button is pressed long enough, it will indeed take a picture of your pocket... like over and over again. How can this be? I still love the reception of this phone for my service area. But the camera thing can and needs to be fixed in a firmware update by Sony Ericsson. If you own this phone, email SE and insist that the make this phone the perfect phone it could be.... Thank you for your support.

I have had this phone since christmas it is the best phone i have ever had i would highly reccommend it to anyone. BETTER THAN NOKIA easy to use. If you want to be noticed get this phone everyone will be envious i have had so many compliments since i had it. It is such good value, comes with pink and white covers but other colours can be bought.I was stuck cjoosing between this one and the pink razor but i have no regrets at all this is a much better phone. The razor looks basic in comparison. MUCH SEXIER PHONE. If you get the chance to purchase this buy straight away.

This phone is great! Not only is it cute, small and compact, it's very user-friendly. Considering its price, the phone gives very good value because it's got a camera (although it's only VGA), video recorder and Mp3 player. The downside is that it only has 16MB of memory, but that's all right - a cellular phone should mainly be used for calling and texting. I recommend this phone to EVERYONE!

I have the fone for a month now and I really like everything about it. There are some things like only 16mb of memory, or that you can't put a memory stick in it, but if you want that, you'll just have to spend a lot more money... The only thing that bothers me is the fact it hangs every now and then. Have to get the battery out and back in before it starts again. Going to a SE centre soon to let it fix.

Wow! What can I say. Excellent phone. Does exactly what is says on the tin. Easy to use and also easy bluetooth with the quickshare software. Was concerned about switching from Nokia due to ease of SMS on Nokia phones but was surprised at how easy I got used to it. Not had problem since I purchased the phone and good battery life also. Good MP3 player also. Great all round phone. Certainly gets the thumbs up from me. So much so I have just bought my mum one to use with a pink cover as it is that easy to use.

Freezes up daily. They say it is rare that it happens, but daily is not rare. This is why: There have been some occurrences of a phenomenon known as memory leak on the Sony Ericsson Z520a cellular handset. It is extremely important to note that this phenomenon is rare in its occurrence and is totally dependant upon the simultaneous existence of multiple network conditions. These conditions appear to be typically associated with highly populated, central urban settings. Even in these network environments, memory leak will only be experienced if the mobile does not complete at least one power cycle in a period of approximately four days. A power cycle occurs when you turn off and turn on the phone, remove and reinsert the battery or the battery goes dead and complete a recharge and power on.

I feel very unsatisfy with the Z520i for its too sensitive photo button. What a stupid design to have the button that is very easily touched when you hold the phone. Unwanted photos are taken whenever you hold the phone. Is there anyone you know how to stop that stupid button?

Okay I'll try and answer all unanswered inquiries as I'm free and I just feel like it. The z520 does ring and vibrate at the same time, and you can use your own tones as your message tone. To transfer stuff from your PC to the phone, you can use a Bluetooth headset or a USB cable. In my opinion the Bluetooth would be better as it would be compatible with any phone that has Bluetooth. As for this phone being a girly phone, I don't think so as it is only a phone. But hey, to each his own. And I would think that they allow MP3s to add features of course. Eventhough it has a relatively small memory, the fact remains that it can play MP3s, even if it can only fit a few songs. As for that, I would recommend to only use a certain segment from a song, and lower the bitrate. It really saves space.

Just got the samsung e530 and not too impressed as it dont vibrate and ring at the same time. The ericsson was actually my first choice so i should have stuck with my first instint, so now i will go for this if anyone can answer my questions: firstly does it ring and vibrate at same time, can you get it unlocked to work with vodaphone and can you change their standard message tones to ones youve downloaded yourself. I think this phone has almost a K700i's features. The only thing lacking is it's limited memory space. It's only 16MB whereas the K700i has 41MB. Design is good and I like the flashing lights! Very cool! So now I'm not sure which to get, a K700i or this phone.

This phone is great! It has almost all the features of a high-end phone but it is valued at a price of a low-end to mid-end phone. You will definitely get your money's worth. An expansion card slot could have been an icing in the cake though. And its design is certainly one for keeps.

it's a true VGA cam... if u choose the extended size, it just expands the pic to make it a mega pix cam ... so the quality isn't so nice

Ok, i dont know if i am just very uninformed, but according to the specs of the phone it has a VGA camera. Righ? As i understand it VGA is a 640x480 pixel resolution So how come my Z520 has a maximum resolution of 1280x1024 pixels when taking a photo? Does this not constitute a Megapixel camera?

to those of you who want to fit more songs into it, i suggest using an MP3 sound cutter, cut out certain segments, and lower the bitrate to about 96 or 80. the sound quality won't be that bad, and it certainly saves up a lot of space. =).

i have this phone , and , i really like it its very nice, is low price but no lack in features bluetooth mp3player (actually its best use, is for mp3 tones) VGA & video cam (desent pictures , and the video can have up to 20 min or more, ) with 16Mb is good enough for pics , and some good videos and mp3 tones ;)

I've only ever had Ericsson phones, including the Z600 (which my Mum now uses and refuses to give back :-D). I�ve come to prefer clamshells or flips over the soap-bar designs specifically because they don't need a keypad lock, the screen is protected and also because you flip them open to use they have bigger keys, and the mic is in the right place (i.e. next to your mouth). The Z600 was previously my favourite phone even if it was a little on the big side. I WAS considering going for one of the Samsung range and then this little beauty came on the market. True it�s typically only available in the girly white version with white or pink fascias, even though Sony-Ericsson actually make a grey version (with grey and dark blue fascias), but I�m thinking that the white gloss body of the phone is going to look great with some gunmetal trim. Just as soon as someone gets round to making them for the Z520; the damn thing is so new in the UK, most mobile phone shop staff here still don�t even recognise it! Failing that I can always airbrush the pink fascia to something I do like. As for the features, the most important thing to me in a phone is the phone stuff. I�ve had a K700i in the past, and never used half the stuff on it. I don�t need FM radio, mp3 players or multi-megapixel cameras, I've got dedicated versions of each already. The antenna on the Z520 is excellent (and I�m a GSM engineer), the phone book is well organised, the T9 software is a huge advancement over the early Ericsson attempts and the light functions are cool, well for a social-use phone anyway, maybe not for the office but that�s covered. Also this phone can use full mp3 tracks as ringtones, which the K700 can�t. All in all, a little cracker... If you can find it in grey.

I bought this phone from ebay and am using it with tmobile in illinois. The reception is incredible. The funtionality of thie phone beats many clamshells out there. Good things - 1) the software is very quick compared to the t610 i had before. It has good games and allows a great deal of modification. 2) its light wieght and eay to use. 3) has bluetooth 4) battery life is good- Can go up 3 days without charging. The only problems i've seen with this phone are. 1) it takes pics randomly in the pocket ...not everytime..like once in a week. 2) it keeps resetting the rite and left navigation shortcut keys. Does this happen to anyone else? 3) the exterior screen is hard to read. Not very good color. Also the inside screen it not the best in the market. 4) camera, not somethin i wud depend on for good pics. I got the data cable today. And trasferred pics and songs onto the phone. The phone has no radio. Works fine, but it's terrible to use it without earphones. Very fastly the head aches a no way to continue speaking, it seems has some problem with microphone.And it always shots unwanted photos or videos because of the to sensitive video/camera button...Better Z600...no comparison with this "crap".

I have had my z520a for about a week and a half. I am a skeptic when it comes to specs. I was torn between this one and the Moto v557. This one has more features and memory for downloading files,music,and photos. This phone is a really well thought out phone for anyone.Reception is great. Just as good or better than antenna phones(pull up type). I think it's the best value out there as far as features are concerned.Performance is pretty solid.

really, the SE Z520 is a wonderful and amazing phones. in my opinion i think that it had been made for teenagers because it is so stylish and have a irresistible disign, also the quality of the display is good and even that it has just a VGA camera which means 300.000 pixels(0.3Mp)the picture's resolution is high. about the memory i think that 16Mb is enaugh for a clampshell phone compared with other clampshell phones(nokia 6101 for ex has 4Mb shared memory)also there isn't any clampshell phone in the market had a MMC the only thing that i didn't like on SE Z520 is the circle on the top. its cheap and great, buy it!

I really like this phone but the memory is too small. I've tried deleting everything that can be but some things keep coming up with 'cannot be deleted, protected file'. Koochy - A little more info for you. The z520 camra has only a VGA (640x480) Camera with no flash. If you are looking to stay low in cost the LG VX-8100 is free w/plan and has a 1+ megapixel with LED Flash. Hope this helps alittle. Others please help Koochy as well.

yes the phone allows mp3 songs as ringtones. You can download them to your phone by conecting to the internet, data calbe, or infrared. So yes the phone has infrared. I have used it offen and have never had a problem with the connection with it.

I've had this phone for 1 month now and true feel in love with it.. BUT.. The phone keeps locking / freezing up on me. I'm unable to hear the phone ring or see my pics. The only way of resetting my phone is to turn it off and back on, and sometimes I have to take the battery out for multi mins because I'm unable to turn it off. The z520a has a limited SMS memory! It only holds a few dozenns of messages! And you can not transfer SMS or MMS to the computer! only images, videos and sounds! I got the z520a to use it with my messages but this design joke is what I got! where is the firmware upgrade to fix it!!! And you see nothing on the screen under sunlight, and the plastic screen cover of mine fell off and I had to glue it!

The phone is a bluetooth phone. Also if you want it in anyother color then blue you can go to the cingular store and ask for the other color face plates. If they dont have them then they can direct you to someone who does. Dont go to radio shack though because even though we did just start carrying cingular we at this point in time do not have the face plates for this phone. If there are any other questions please feel free to ask because not only do i sale this phone but i own one and i have absolutely loved it.

I have this phone for aboute a month now and I think that it's great. I LOVE the battery. It easily lasts for 5 days. And you can personalize it every way you want. Size and shape suits me just fine and it is also light. Every single featur(bluetooth, IR, Email,USB,...) works great. I'm little worried about getting loose at the hinges, but if you treat it gently, there shouldn't be any problems. The only thing i hate about it, is really sesitive �camera� button on the side. TIP: If you take it to you local phone provider and ask really nicely, they can easily delete the games, themes, sounds and PIC you don't need. It gives you extra memory and it stops around 23 MB. That not bed! And if shrink you MP3 songs, you can enjoy in about 10 of your favourite songs.

my friend had one of these for about a month now. i noticed the phone was already getting loose at the hinges, as with any clamshell phone. would suggest using bluetooth headset to reduce wear and tear of opening and closing the phone. wat i liked was the picture taking in burst mode.

The phone is very good, considering its price. The photos are very nice, as megapixel camera. It has no radio, but it isn't a must. Memory, not that bad if you don't use the phone as mp3. Great phone, small but full of functions, E-mail, MMS, etc... the loudness of the ringtone is medium, not so loud as the nokia phones... but you won't miss a call. Buy it

I bought this phone outright last weekend and think it's great.I originally bought the Nokia 6101 on the same day because I was told the Z520i wasn't available in Australia. However, on the way to my car I walked into another dealer and there it was on display so I took the Nokia back for a refund. The Z520i has all the features of the K750i except for the bigger memory and card; the TFT screen and the 2mp camera but for 200Aud more I can easily live without these. One of my main requirements was for voice dialing and a speakerphone that I could hear the number ringing before the other person answered and the Z520i is just perfect. My phone came with both dark blue and grey interchangeable covers and for the girls there's a choice of pink and yellow. It also had a Sony Ericsson bluetooth headset included in the box so it's a really good value for money. Btw, I also looked at the Samsung D500 and although a nice phone too (but much more expensive), it lacks voice dialling and when texting it always defaults to multitapping and not T9 every time you go to write a msg - what a pain! P.S. I don't work for Sony Ericsson but this is my second SE mobile and I think they leave the other manufacturers for dead with quality and features.

yes, the z520 is a mid-range phone, but it probably the BEST mid-range phone out there: VERY light weight, easy-to-change exterior, un-crippled interface and those oh-so-fancy lights on the side. I really like this phone. However, coming from a t616, the Bluetooth range on this z520 phone seems really limited. I have to hold my phone 10 inches away from the BT transmitter to get a signal.

I'm enjoying every second that i'm using my Z520! :) what's good about Z520 (compared to samsung x640 and nokia 6101) is that it has a pop port! i can easily snap in my usb cable (from my sony ericsson w800) into my z520 and transfer files from my phone to my computer and vice versa! c",) it's battery is also the same with my SE w800 and my dad's SE k750.. :) how convenient is that? however, it could have been better if they have incorporated an lcd screen on the z520 that the k700i uses! that could have been sweet! c",) the price is not that bad and you get numerous features too..

I dont know why you guys are complaining about the phone's memory... SE meant the 16mb of storage to be used for ringtones, and since thats 4-5 songs, it means that you have four to five ringtones to choose... one for message, and another for calls, with two ringtones to spare!!! isnt that more than enough??? if you want to use the phone as an MP3 player you get the K750i or the W800i... or better still get an ipod and solve alll memory prob!!! PS: you can use your own ringtones as your ringtone.

as i last posted on Nov 22nd... ... i bought the white one yesterday.. after figuring with it.. i would consider Z520 a basic phone.. the overall design outlook is very pretty.. being a clampshell phone, not meant for the daily driving tech savvy appointments filled sales guy like myself, which one hand is always on the steering wheel while the other replying to sms or saving information.. as another post had also mentioned.. one phone entry can only be saved to a name.. that's not wat i want... but anywayzzz... it's gonna be wrapped n courier to my wife, a beautician... guess it's gonna look great on her... :)

This is a terrible phone, Ive had it for 2 days and pampered it like a baby. Didn't take the plastic off, did let anyone hold it, and didnt drop it. Yet some how or another it still finds a way to end up glitching on me and now when I get a phone call the external screen goes all haywire as though theres a virus taking it over and then ringtone starts thats suppose to last for 15 seconds keeps stopping and repeating itself every 3 secs as though its skipping. Garbage phone if you ask me, Im going to return it today.

I bought it two days ago and I gotta say I love it lots. The phone is great although it lacks memory (only 16MB) but, it's fine with me because I seldom use it as a mp3 player. The features that I love most is the 8 light effects. It just looks so chic. Also, I love the design of the phone and not forgetting bluetooth (makes transfering files so much easier)Overall, I'd rate it 8/10 :)

I just bought the phone a couple of days ago, reason being I fell in love with the phone the moment I saw it. I hadn't been a sony ericsson phone in the past, mainly due to the fact that they've been harder to use compared to other phones like Nokia and Samsung and for that matter Siemens even. I love this phone.. I really don't understand why so many people are complaining about its memory, camera and lcd.. A little check you guys! This is not a high-end phone!!!! If you're ranting about its features, go get an expensive phone! If you have to compare, go compare it with another phone in its class.. say for example Nokia 6101.. They both cost nearly the same but the features are far different from each other.. z520's 16MB is a whole lot better than nokia 6101's 7MB! the 6101 doesn't even have bluetooth.. Regarding battery life, z520 is a winner with that! don't compare z520 with k700i coz' they aren't in the same class.. so before you rant, research on the phone that you like! buy a phone that fits your needs and wants.. some people are just simple enough to get satisfied with a z520.. and maybe that's not you! as for me, i have the sony ericsson w800i and the z520 for a secondary phone.. do i compare both? no! it's like comparing a CEO with a waiter/waitress.. where's your common sense?

I am existing user of K508I, I sourcing phone 4 my wife, I went to counter 2 huv a look on the phone. Outlook is suitable to man, key design mostly for female, but button is easier to press compare 2 mine. But len for the camera is not protected, once fall, I think it is more fragile. Overall still considered to have a try to buy a flip phone if compared with Nokia or Motorola.

Got the phone last week, and I like it a lot, the keypad has a real positive feel, and its a very user friendly phone. Its not a feature packed phone, the resolution of the screen and the quality of the camera are nothing special but that's ok. Sending TXT's/MMS's are quick and easy, its ok for downloading e-mails, even the flashing lights are a nice touch for finding the phone in the dark! The thing is designed to be a phone and not MP3/Video player, and I don't understand why some people are complaining about that, I welcome the simplicity, it makes a refreshing change. There are plenty of other phones on the market that fill those needs, 16MB is more than enough space! The only problem I have found is that the signal cuts out sometimes when I access the internet! Good phone, Ill give it an 8/10

I was using the k700i model for a yr and was really impressed with the features, so when I saw how good looking the z520i was I jumped at getting it. Boy was I disappointed! Considering the z520i is models up from the k700i, it only has 16mb memory compared to the k700i which has 40mb; the vga camera is worst than the k700i with no light or flash; i can barely see the number calling me on the external screen because the lcd display is too bright (unadjustable!). If you're a current sony ericsson user, i wouldn't recommend getting this model. but if you're changing over from another brand, then you'll love sony ericsson's mobile features.

This phone is awesome in ALMOST every way. However, you can only add one number per contact, which sucks if you want to add a Home and a Cell for a certain person. To do so, you must add a separate name, which will use up another SIM contact spot. How come the older version, z500, can add multiple numbers, with websites and e-mails, while this one cannot?

I am thinking of getting the Z520 for my birthday later this month. I like all the features, e.g bluetooth... The design is very nice but what is the actual quality like? I have just ordered this phone, as a mate has it and god it looks good :D You can delete the games etc off it if you dont need/want them, so the memory is more like 25mb which is cool. As it has bluetooth, you can transfer pics/mp3s back and forth, so 25mb is ample amount of memory.

U can sync with your laptop, PDA or desktop. Use the infra-red, bluetooth connectivitiy. go to settings, move the curser to the last option on the top menu, connectivity, switch on either bluetooth or infra red to sync. great fun.

same camera as 7610 nokia? READ THE SPECS - the z520 is a VGA camera, the 7610 is a mega pixels cam. Also the phone is a budget model, excellent phone for its price range. Memory is only 16MB so will only hold about 4 songs. The phone is not a proper mp3 player. the mp3 player feature is really only there for use with ringtones. Again this is a budget phone. If you need an mp3 player, get a Walkman phone, W800 or W550 or W900. In the same price range, phone range, Sony Ericsson will ALWAYS beat a Nokia phone, SE all the way :-) @Donald Yes you can transfer the SMS using a piece of software called MyPhoneExplorer. It also makes back up of your entire SonyEricsson.

to chris m u seems to get confused between Z520 & K700. Let me help u here a lil bit. If u're a heavy music listener and entertainment geek then i suggest u to choose K700 since the phone features 41mb of shared memory, mp3/mpeg4 player and FM radio. But if u're just a light user of entertainment then Z520 is the best mid range coice. Z520 features many tech thingy as per bluetooth as well as IR data transfer method. To be added, Z520 also features built-in hansfree dat is not prebuilt with K700. For GPRS access, both r using gprs class 10. No worries for internet access but well, its of course slower than the EDGE tech. Why bother if u're not a heavy net users then.

I think this phone is very nice, i bought it 3 days ago and i can't complain about the battery. I charged it like they said for 10 hours and now (monday) the battery is still half after fiddling alot with it. It's also much better looking than the nokia 6101. Strongly recommended for those that they like a simple, nice and practical mobile. Soundtech Cyprus is selling Sony Ericsson Z520i since September and it is an excellent mobile and mostly one of the best choices for the ladies. It comes with a cloth cover and also another extra plastic cover. So we are expecting more beautiful colors. By the way, the Bluetooth is an excellent feature on low o midrange mobiles. If you are a guy, buy it for your lady!

i have just purchased this phone on o2, i have to say the quality for the money i paid is excellent. if your all going on about its only a vga camera well its not the phone for you! i only wanted to spend around �100 on a new phone and its more than i expected. if you dont like the membory and want to play mp3s on this phone then dont buy it! by the way the vga camera is still great, im only a casual user of the camera and when i need it, its perfect.

Tahnk you for some of the comments & suggestion on the battery issues. Well, some phone mfg are very good in over stating the battery life. They also add the phase:- "Battery performance may vary depending on network and phone usage". It is like telling you on the cigratte pack that SMOKING KILLS. Buy it at your own risk!! I think there should be an organization to control the "LIES" by the phone mfg. Anyway, come to think about it. I made my decision to buy this phone, I have no regrets.

Battery life in any mobile phone is determined by whether the user follows to letter the pre use charging guide, u buy it, then u charge it for the specified time and THEN you use. u dont use it then charge it for an hour and then use it some more etc, and expect batt life to be anywhere near as good as specified!

Battery life of the Z520i is terrible. I bought the phone 3 days ago, and I had to charged it everyday!!! It last only 1.5days maxs. At 9.00am the battery level was at 90%, by noon 60%, by dinner time only 45%. By 9pm, all drained out. I was using the phone for gaming, video & photo capture, playing the media player functions, and of course, talking with friends. I guess the battery will drain out faster if I were using bluetooth. Anyway, I think the actual talk time is only 2.5hrs. Nice phone but lousy battery. SE should have throw in the save battery mode, that most phone has. Really sad,

I love this phone, but ... does anybody know how well it performs concerning signal reception? I have had several phones and noticed that they can strongly differ in the ability to receive signal. Where I live; signal is poor, VERY poor. I would've immediately bought this phone, had it contained 2 mpix cam, msduo slot and a higher resolution main display. (That hinge is useless also) The phone is a lot smaller than it appears to be photos. Very nice keypad and white, glossy finish. The blue backlight looks good too, there's some kind of effect in that making the handset look transparent. Again, I'm very impressed by the keypad.

i think it all depends on the needs each one has, personally i am buying this phone, i had a z600 and i was perfectly happy with it (till it was washed with the rest of my laudry), i dont want my phone to replace my digital camera nor my mp3 player, so since i like the design very much and it gives me what i need in the features area, why to have to pay for a super phone that will cost double and wont use 70% of its features? ah yes... i am a girl and i have a bag all the time, so the size is not an issue for me as well i guess SE released it to cover the range of people like me, for who ever has extra needs there are other, better models with extra price of course

I think sony ericssons are very reliable. The one I have gets fairly decent to landline quality reception even when I'm in buildings where it shows maybe only or 2 bars. As far as durability, they're sturdy at least the one I have is, it fell apart, pick up the pieces and works fine, little water here and there no worries. They have a unique style. I think this one will be really good. It has quad band meaning use any gsm network anywhere in the world, a first for any other maker than boring yet functionally sound motorola. A main tft 65k the same moto uses very vivid. The external stn might be not as good. I'll probably get if the price is right.

@hinton this phone is bigger than the 7270 and 6170. and sorry to say this but its also bigger than the 6101. nice phone, but pretty huge from all the features its lacking.

This fone looks great, spec. wise though it aint so good, I dont kno why SE put memory card slots in so few fones these days? This would make an idea second fone if you want one with a great sec i would reccommend the Nokia N90. SE are good, and I have been a loyal customer of theirs for a few years now, but that Nokia blows the recend SE phones out of the water, including the W800 in my opinion

This is a great looking phone but like they said, there is no perfect phone. The loop antenna looks good but it only adds to the size of the phone and could be an inconveniense when place in the pocket or bag. Why didn't they just use internal antenna like what samsung is doing nowadays. And the external screen, it's only 4k, and worse it's only STN not TFT. Other than this two, I still like this phone much better than Nokia's 6101. Just saaw it and it's huge if you compare it with other clampshell phone in the market. Shows you that Nokia still has a long way to go when it comes to clampshell-type phone. Too bad, I thought they were going the right direction with their 2650 , 7270 and 6170.

Well I won't say this phone is crap. The thing that some of you people don't understand is that phones are targeted at different markets. The way I see it, this phone is an upgrade from the Z200, which was an awful phone...my T310 was even better than the Z200. Now back to the matter at hand...I'm a bit surprised at what you get with this lower end market phone, a 65K TFT screen, a camera of VGA status instead of a CIF. Video recording capabilities,Bluetooth, MP3 player, come on people you are getting some high end feature in a low end phone, what are you all complaining about ? I do agree, one would expect more built in memory for an MP3 phone but let's NOT forget, more memory means more memory, memory is crucial BUT it aint cheap. Some complain abount no memory card slot, once again, low end phone...furthermore, if the high end K700 didn't come with a memory card slot, why should a low end phone come with one ? Regardless of the 16MB which is small for an MP3 and video recording phone, it's still more than the K500 and K300 which are also MP3 & video recording phones. This is a vast improvement over the Z200 so quit complaining and start appreciating. Now to comment on what some of you opinionists have said: to JOY: This is NOT a high end phone, how on earth do you expect it to come with a 2MP camera ??? think girl think To MAAN, you said that if people's focus is on photo and video shooting they should get dedicated cameras and video recorders, well look at it this way, cellphones are very versatile these days, having a do-it-all cellphone save you additional expense of getting a standalone camera or video recorder, having them in a cellphone makes everything more COMPACT, no carry bags etc. But MAAN you are right, people expect too much from cellphones these days, for me, once it does a decent job I'm ok with it and won't need to look in the direction of buying the standalone counterparts. To MATTHEW: Don't get me started. Never diss Nokia, Nokia set the foundation for Digital phones and the way I see it, they are still leading the way. Tell me which phones are stronger OR more reliable than Nokia ? Nokia's take hard drops & get soaked in water YET they still work like new. Furthermore, Nokia have MUCH better reception than SE phones. Sony Ericsson phones AREN'T strong nor reliable, I have gone through the experience of a T310, T610 & P800, they all disappointed me. Joystick & Buttons stopped working for the T310 and I am not a hard button presser. The same exact joystick problem occured for both the T310 & T610 and I wasn't the owner for the T610, I won't even go on to the high classed P800. The reception for all 3 SE phones are terrible too. Most of the time, I get 1-3 out of 5 bars for SE phones. Nokia gives 7 bars in the same PLACE, that's full reception and if it drops it's just for a second or two. Nokia is the best overall phone anybody could buy. I will never buy another SE phone!!!

Hopefully SE makes more Quadband phones into their higher end models! I hate always having to wait for them to release the NA 850 models so I can get reception where I've gotten used to. My provider is only putting up new 850 towers now, and no 1900 :( But this looks like a pretty decent phone if it's priced right :)

First, what is the first number after the letter for this phone? 5.... that's right.a.. a 5 meaning it's a mid range phone... before comparing it to other phones in terms of features, do your research and compare with what this phone is meant to go against. I plan to buy this phone as soon as I have the budget and as soon as it is released in the Philippine market. I think it's a good buy. It has a little of everything, so to speak. I mean can't you guys see that phone manufacturers don't lump all the features customers want in a single phone? Otherwise, their other, and I should add "lesser" phone models would suffer. Therefore, what phone manufacturers do is to distribute all the good features among all their phones to even out sales. In short, you can't have it all in one phone! There's no such thing as a phone which has it all! Based on my objective assessment of the SE Z520 (I've been researching on a lot on phones from Siemens, Nokia and Samsung too), I honestly think it's a good buy. Store only your favorite MP3s, pictures and videos if the memory's what's freaking you out. After all, it's a cellphone -- it oughta be used for calling out/receiving calls and for sending/receiving text messages. The camera and video functions are just accessories/secondary features. If your focus is on pictures and videos, you don't need a cellphone. Buy a digital camera and a digital video recorder instead. Final Judgment:The Z520 would be an excellent buy.

How can you call Sony Ericsson crap? They are by far better than Nokias and thats a fact because I have done my research. Nowadays Nokia are also making new phones and leaving out vital features...infact they do it much more than Sony Ericcsons, Sony Ericssons also have better quality features and smaller sized phones. So you may think Sony Ericsson is crap but currently they are the leading phone brand in the world...for proof do your research...this phone Z520i is a decent phone with good features...

I really like the design of this phone. Much better than the Z600. I have my dedicated mp3 player, so I don't bother having only 6MB onboard. I can also live with the "only" VGA camera.

Looks like a very nice phone... if only they implemented the features of the K750 / W800 into it. Then it would be a step forward. In this case, with only 16MB memory, compared to today's standards, it's no good. Probably a good starter phone for youths. Can be called, " a better Z200".
