i used this phone for 7 years and its being used by my dad its a durable phone but not that much reliable the OS lags alot I had to get a custom rom for it to work properly the GPS takes 1 hour to work and thats a design flaw in all of Sony's mobile phones until the Sony Z2 came out the buttons stopped working in the 6 year but got fixed easily dissembling and fixing is easy on this phone its audio quality is literly shit I found the camera to be amazing really the sides and body are scratched easily but the screen got never scratched in the entire 7 years

Time to change phone I used to used this phone it keeps giving me problem low ram, the battery won't last, touchscreen issue when charging etc.. The reason I bought it is because of its water resistant capability but due to the material they use it became shitty. Also, normally mid rage phone will last 2 years max and high end up to 4 years.

if you have android 2.3.7 the latest supported of whatsapp for that version of android is 2.17.253. after that there is no update. (my information is based on that i have this version and there is no update for me in google play after this version of whatsapp) However if your android is 4.0.1 or 4.1 probably you can update more. There is update if you want to upgrade your phone You can find updates in xda forum. However i didn't updated because i saw in somewhere that those updates have more lags because of low ram of device. Also i checked whatsapp site and they wrote that they support android gingerbread until 2020 and after that whatsapp won't work on this version of android. Good luck

Dont update to the latest version. (4.something) it causes the device to lag. If you've already upgraded to it then you can downgrade it which is pretty simple. I did it without any previous skill or try and the phone still works fine. Just Google: Sony st27i downgrade.

Bought this phone in 2013 and still actively using it. Main usage is texting, photographing, taking notes for reminders, and listening to music. In 2016, the phone's cover for the charger broke off due to excessive opening and closing, but the phone is still going strong. Only considering another phone now because I need a front facing camera too.

pro: small size, easy to carry, easy to root, pretty good battery life, Walkman app is kinda nice (so obviously mine is now a dumbphone turned portable MP3 player) con: WAY too much bloatware, microSD card slot is recessed too far (need a stir-stick to push the card in, and tweezers to remove it)

My Sony Xperia go serves me well. But the thing is the USB and 3.5mm jack covers are easily got damage after a year. One thing i love about this phone is that you can put it inside your pocket whilst working out.

I too got my Xperia Go in 2012 and am still using it. I love the size and the ease of use. Other than a newer Sony, which I cannot afford, there is no other phone that I want. Although there is no front camera (I know what I look like so why do I want a photo??) it is the best camera I have come across. Few new phones have specifications good to warrant my ditching my wonderful Sony.

November 2012 if i'm not mistaken, battery also is an issue due to its easily drained when used in data. Wifi connectivity is good and dropped a dozen time but its durability is good.

It's good if you want a cheap phone for easy use. After some time of using the phone, it will lag a lot and games will crash very often. It doesn't have a secondary camera which bothers me, not a very good phone but it serves it's purpose

Thumbs down for this phone... I have for 6 months and it was already about 7 times at a serviser.... It is so small, it does not have front camera..... For this money I could buy a new, better phone that is bigger, it has front camera and it has lower radiation that this...... my sony xperia go has went about 4 times just because his battery died- it has 37% and than it turns of and writes "battery 0%" it has about 4 new batteries that costs a much... about 3 times it was by a serviser because he was blocking and I am so sad because of this because I needed to erase all my contats, photos, games, apps....... now if I have only 1 app, it is blocking again..... I do not recomended it because it is terrible....... for this money you can buy samsung galaxy grand neo plus as I did and it is much better than this craph.......

I am gonna replace it after 2 years, It was great at first, its IP67 is perfect specially at dusty environments, I droped it alot, but its getting tooo slow, response to call is very slow, camera not good compared with other 5MP cameras, cannot with stand a lot applications due to low RAM

waterproof is almost fine , no problem if dropped into water . once dropped into floor the touch sensitivity reduces gradually from both sides . cannot be used with local or other brand chargers it affects touch sensitivity . speed worth its price , average camera , actually i dropped it once and the touch was almost gone in a month then the phone was replaced by sony , dropped it again but was so late to claim warranty . used for almost an year

This is the worst phone I've ever had. It's so slow. It takes forever to load, the software sucks. PLEASE DON'T BUY. Even a blackberry loads faster. If I was being murdered the calling screen takes 30 seconds to load and by then I'd be dead.

The Sony Xperia go is a very good phone I have had it for 6 months and I've dropped it a few times and the screen doesn't cracked yet bu the only problem I had was that the one side of the screen stopped working for no apparent reason.

I have this phone over two years, it's good one, just sometimes slowly works if I put many applications on, it's cool and not often with problems, and when it makes one, just switch it off to SAFE MODE and it become like new. my advice if you wanna fast phone and you like games and use many app in the phone, this is not the one.

Using this phone for 18 months. It has fallen like million times so far and still working without any technical issue. It is a bit slow if you dont take care of it. you have to be careful whit apps, it doesnt have unlimited resources. I have deleted every widget running on home screen, also unnecessary apps to speed up the phone. If not enough i will downgrade to older android. But so far i guess no other smartphone would hold up so well (physically).

I'm not happy with the Xperia Go. Bad speakers (you cannot hear GPS instructions in the car if the engine is running), crashes almost twice a day (without apparant reason), battery very low capacity, problems with audio output jack and worst of all: NO service by Sony, who keep ignoring the complaints. So after less than 1 year, still more than one year warranty left, I bought a new phone...(nope, not a Sony...never again)

In two years, six times was under repair. Freezing, battery consumption, and countless problems could not be solved. Everything pointed to the software-problem. But when I made a downgrade to 2.3 Ginger Bread all the problems are gone. This model does not support newer versions of Android. If you want the device works well, forget the ICS or JB Android.

Hello to every body. Just want to share my experience in this phone. Actually I bought this phone for almost 2 years. This is my first Sony Xperia Phone. I dreamed to have a Sony Xperia Phone someday. I bought it for 11,500 pesos on a mall in philippines. The main reason why I bought it because it was SCRATH RESISTANT WATER RESISTANT DUST PROOF as a consumer i put it on the test. WATER RESISTANT TEST: From Cavite I went to Batangas with my friend and were riding on the top of Jeepney.. Unfortunately there's a heavy rain and I have my phone with me. We are 5 on the top all of us bring their phone.. Their phone shut of after got wet but my phone is wonderful still working.. hahaha we took picture of our selfie.. I prove that this phone is dependable on rain but I have no experience yet soaking in water but for rain it's definitely wonderful. SCRATCH RESISTANT TEST: I also put my phone in my Maong pants which has lot of stuff.. coins,coins,coins.. even though coins scratching the screen i have no any problem because no scratch at all. I never tried yet using a blade to test it.. hahaha of course everything to much is bad. DUST PROOF TEST: I always take care of my phone.. I always bring a small cloth to wipe dirt.. that's all. CAMERA TEST: 5 megapixel is good. I can take decent picture. It just have no front camera. but it's okay. JELLY BEAN UPGRADED: This definitely work for me.. I am not techie but I have no problem accessing my Facebook and Gmail and some stuff. I just only have 2 Games (POU & 4 pic 1 word) BATTERY LIFE TEST: Actually my phone last for 5 days for normal use probably because i download a battery saver.. most of the time i use text and call.. STYLE: Here in Philippines lot of people amaze for a big screen phone 5-6.8 inches or phablet.. hheheh unfortunately those people have those kind of phone can get easily snatch.. sorry to say.. in Philippines there's a lot of snatcher.. in Malls,MRT, everywhere please be careful. My phone was definitely okay. because it was slim and very easy to put every where.. Actually I put in in my pocket and that's it. never had a problem. unnoticeable. Then I rooted my phone after which Performance got a little better and Battery Lasted For a Good time. But One day I woke up with a Faulty Touch Screen. Iv'e had my phone for 2 months, the it froze, I send it in for repairs and had to wait 2 weeks, I got it back and not even 10 days and the phone had the same probleme, I send it in for repairs AGAIN, I had to wait another 10 to 15 working days for my phone, when I got it back, the SAME day it froze again!!!! Really, all that the vodacom shop said is that they can send it in for repairs again!! Is this the service Vodacom an Sony offers their clients??

Bought this phone 1 year ago then I installed custom Android 4.4.3 KitKat ROM because the original ROM sucks. The performance are bad and it can't play high-end games. Had to overclocked it to reduce lag. Now the screen is broken after it fell to the ground. Some area of the screen doesn't work. I'm getting a new phone and I'm not going to buy any phone from Sony. Don't buy this phone. There are more better phones out there and it's cheaper like the Motorola Moto G.

I hate this phone. I've never had problems with other phones in the past, but this one is a disaster. I got it about 1.5yrs ago, and it's already been in for repairs twice, had the motherboard replaced, had issues with the speakers (callers couldn't hear me) and I couldn't upload the new software.... it had to go to the service centre even for that. It worked ok for about a week after I got it back, and although it "works" it takes me up to a minute to make a call (if it does it at all, i often have to try a few times before it will make the call), and it often gets stuck when i'm trying to answer a call, and the ringtone keeps going even after i've answered it. I can't wait to get rid of it.

My friend has this phone and she's scared to try the waterproof thing. The phone is waterproof but up to only 1 meter deep in water. So u can swim with it but if it goes deeper than 1 meter your phone is gone.

i used to be less than 100% with this phone in latest jelly bean sony update. Then i tried unlocking the bootloader, then i rooted, then i flashed a custom KITKAT ROM! wow! all apps loaded perfectly - whatsapp, viber, bbm running at the same time, with swiftkey as well. - couldn't do that with jelly bean. AND no Sony marketing hype bloatware, memory improved, battery 15 hours between charging. all thumbs up. hardware specs is really only half the story. the software also makes for a better performing phone.

you should learn to flash custom rom. i was not too happy with Sony stock rom, even with the latest v.1.100 update. So i went shopping at xda website. Now very smooth, excellent battery, feels like NEW!! using AOSX KITKAT 4.4.3 awesome

I have bought this phone 2yrs ago and it has been very well since then. I have updated it to jb and the works pretty well. Sometimes it acts abnormally like, at night its battery is 54% and at morning it is switched off(0%) . All games run on it smoothly big games like most wanted.,gta vice city also run on it. Camera quality is pretty well but not that much at night. Battery back is ok ok. Fb, whatsapp,bbm,etc all run smoothly,and the best thing about this phone is its toughness my phone has fallen about 1000 times but nothing at all has happened to it. Its purely waterproof but you have to keep the ports closed. The looks of this phone are awsome. All in all its a nice budget smartphone

after they reset my phone, because I was told that the solution for the problems the phone had, was the fact that I have downloaded Viber, so I had to reset the phone, I had the phone charged 100%. I talked after 2-3 hours for 3 MINUTES and the battery collapsed. I didn't use either wifi, bluetooth, gps, compass, radio, camera or anything else. The only thing i did was to use the phone for 3 minutes. Does this tell you something about the battery life?

This mobile phone is the worst i have ever had! Even if it was a phone, the phone application was not working, the touch buttons were not working, while I was replying I couldn't listen to the speaker, the microphone was as if metals were clashing each other. After I had the software updated (they said that this would fix everything) the battery collapsed!!! While it was showing that battery level was at 37% despite the fact that wifi and gps were not on and the phone was on energy saving mode, after talking for 2 minutes the phone shut down. I don't know what to do with this phone.

Posting this on my lagging Sony xperia go. This happens to be my 3rd, yes 3rd, handset. My first one must have fell no more than 1 ft and something inside must have went as the screen stopped working. Even still this phone is awful. It's slow at loading aps. In particular, Facebook takes a good 5 minutes to load after ive force closed it several times. It likes to unhook the SD card when it feels like it. My 2nd handset was exactly the same except it didn't fall,t just stopped working. All the buttons and touch pad stopped working. And since ive had my 3rd one ive had to manually reboot it 7 times as ieach time it froze. Utter shite. Won't be purchasing another Sony ever again. Don't recommend to anyone especially those with high blood pressure as this phone will probably push you to the point of a heart attack.

A few months after buying, the phone developed touch related problems. Few areas of the touch are non responsive. Texting is terrible with frustating lag in the on-screen keyboard. Tried the official Jelly Bean update with no use. Took it to the service center and they said its a common problem and Sony no longer services this phone. All you can do is replace it if you are willing to pay half the original cost of the phone . Very disappointed !!!

just force restart...press power button and volume up button to force restart...wait for a few minutes before turn back on...if that fail,boot it in safe mode..to do this,press volume down button when the xperia logo pop out...hope this help... :D

Never hated a phone as much as this one. Can't make calls because there's a delay, can't pick up calls because the phone freezes and there's a delay. No skype, no viber, no regular calls. I have had this phone for a year and I love it. Battery life is fine, unless you start playing games then they will chew it. I upgraded to Jelly Bean 8 months ago and never had a problem. The phone is smooth, no lag. Best of all, I forgot it was in my board shorts pocket and went swimming / body surfing in the ocean for 30 mins. Came out to dry myself off and realized the phone had been swimming with me! It never missed a beat. Still going strong. With any other phone that would have been a $400 mistake. I will only ever buy waterproof & dustproof phones.

My Xperia Go battery lasts for days on standby, at least 3 days with a few SMS sent. I changed the WiFi settings, uninstalled/disabled all bloatwares, disabled the data when I don't use. For the WiFi, go to Settings > WiFi > Advanced > Keep WiFi on during sleep > Only when plugged in

Quite Honestly,I have had the Samsung Galaxy S4 and I dropped it once and it was screwed,I do a lot of sports daily and don't always get time to make sure my phone is safe,I went through 4 phones in the last 2 months,and I have the experia go now,and really,not a disappointment,I'm loving it,battery life is really no problem I pop the phone on my wireless charging mat,every second day,and its 100% withing a few minutes,and it lasts 2 days,really a great phone!!

poor finger response when wet/ underwater.there should be dedicated button to take pictures to augment that problem, very limited options to customize the themes.not actually durable because it only fell once and the corner was chipped off, however it is still waterproof hence a point for that. over all, just an OK phone.

A poor product from sony. The touch screen failed on 14th month. Sony center @ Trivandrum said warranty expired so shell out Rs 7000/- for repair.Interestingly they told they will supply a different phone ( Experia go)with a 6 mo warranty for 7000/-. I threw it into the dust bin.

I spent 1800pesos (around $40) At first I thought I just need to enter some codes or download some app in PlayStore for the screen to work fine. But after checked up of my xperia go touch screen, they said I need to have it replaced so I did.

I do not recommend this phone!!! It is very slow and often I can't even call anyone because it will not respond. Some internal apps also wont except my wireless internet connection as valid internet plus the screen sometimes does not turn on and I will have to restart it... I strongly recommend a different phone!

after using it for more than a year till now, i face many problems with it. especially with the battery and lag problem. it took so long to make a call and i hate it when i need to make an urgent call. when my battery is less than 15% and i have to call someone, i cannot make it cause it lag and goes off (and im almost lost too. since that time, i have to bring another phone just in case) i have use the stamina mode but it doesn't make a big difference, so i downloaded the battery saver app but it still drained very fast even i don't using it everytime and i don't run many apps (2-3 apps). it's just a small phone, the graphic is average. i never put my phone brighness into very bright. i never play games there and use many apps. i don't know either sony phone's battery drained fast or it's just 1305 mah battery :/. and the problem i face from few days ago is i can't see any photos in my picture but i still can select it to delete it. it can be opened but blank. weird...

Hi all.. i was using this phone more than 1.5 years and writing this review about xperia Go st27i. I bought this phone soon after it released (Aug 2012). initially the phone as smooth and water resistant was good enough. Problems i faced with xperia Go 1. this phone has two openings on either side one for head set and other for USB and has a thin guard to close these openings. After 6 months both of them will break and it spoils entire look and phone is no more water resistant. 2. i faced problem with speaker,(ie) could not hear caller's voice in outdoors. 3.1300 mA non removable battery sucks. i have to charge my phone twice a day fully 100 % even though battery drains quickly. 4.problem with GPS signal- Most of the time gps wont work. i have to swich on/off gps several times to get gps. 5. Call hangs- When i tried to answer calls it lags and takes about 15 to 20 seconds to hear callers voice after swiping the call button on the screen. 6.five MP cam is good but it lags to take a single shot 7.Finally it happened. -I dropped my phone once the display screen was broken (only touch screen was broken not inside display) . i worried much, went to sony service center inn anna nagar and shocked. They told it will take rs 6500 to replace xperia go touch That the end of life for my xperia go :( i wont buy SONY MOBILE anymore.

i've been using xgo for a year now..but i don't seem to have any problems with my touchscreen..those who have problems might be because of the jellybean..i did upgrade to jellybean, encounter lots of lagging especially when making or receiving call..downgrade it back to gingerbread and everything went back smooth.. i've opened and closed the flaps lots of times to recharge, transfer files and also for music..i also opened the back a lot since i'm using 2 different sims.. yes, the flaps does seems a bit worn out..but this thing have been falling crashed landed from 2nd floor to the ground, still in one piece..thank god i have the case on at that moment..i've used the camera at the beach and swim with it too..answer a call or sms while having a shower, or under the rain..and till now, the phone is still great..the best durable waterproof phone ever! although right now i'm going to get the xperia z1 compact for my other sim..i don't think that it would be as durable as this one..

Can't rate it more than 5 out of 10. Can't do internet banking(ANZ) because of an overlapping problem - the screen is 2 small. Problems with WiFi and doesn't have a 2nd camera 4 video calls. Also not very shockproof - I dropped it on a wooden floor from bout 30cm and now have a cracked screen.

I need answers, no one can help me,4 days after receiving the phone I took it back,still in the 7 day period for exchange!!!The cell was so HOT you can`t hold it,,no way do they exchange , they MTN send it back to sony for repairs!!! this is now 12 months later and the cell has been in now for the 4th time, it became so hot that it black out and you cannot take out the battery because its a sealed unit. Positives are that this phone is light and comfortable to carry and sound quality is good when used. Negatives are that it is not user friendly or easy to use. The camera does not always work and adding contacts is often a problem and error messages keep appearing. I have always bought Sony products in the past but this is the worse Sony product I have purchased and the worse mobile I have used. Stuck with it as I cannot afford to get another phone. I do strongly recommend that people should not purchase a Sony Experia.

My hands-on experience to Xperia GO (ST27i) Pros: �Water resistant. Yeah, can perform under water. �Very good touch sensitivity. �Dust & scratch resistant screen. (My Xperia GO does not have scratches on screen. No screen protector for 1 year.) �Durable. (Drops 14 times and still alive. Just got 1 small crack on the side.) Cons: �The audio jack seal easily wears off/loose if you always use a wired headsets. �Low WiFi signal reception. (My other phones can connect to WiFi fast & easy. while my Xperia GO needs to go near to the Wifi modem to connect and I don't know why.) �Always lagging because of too low RAM. (It says 512mb of RAM but actually it's just 389mb RAM. I also can't play good games because of low RAM problem.) �Low quality graphics. (The display is pixelated when playing some games.) �Slow camera response, slow capturing image at 3MP & 5MP resolution. �Becomes more slower after system update.

But this comes with the price. phone is slow (even after periodical restart, temp cleanup, using less no of apps), signal problem (with same service provider, same place my friend would get full signal strength), unable to attend the call sometimes. seems they did not concentrate on basic functionality of the phone. Not worth for the price.

friend this phone performance is good but as far as its body manufacturing is concern it is very poor. side battery charger and jack socket cover is very sensitive it gets break easily and once it gets break company will not give water resistance guaranty. phone sound is OK but camera quality is not good it takes time to click picture and images are blurred even on 5 mp. HD video quality is OK. battery lasts only 1 day another issue less internal memory and u cant move apps to SD card. despite of these problems phone works quite satisfactory as it is made by sony.

i have it now for over a year, everything works like it should, the only problem is when phone dropped accidentally on the ground from 1m, the corner of a phone body broke. touch screen in super sensitive, camera is ok, speaker sound is ok too. but with 4.1 android phone freezes sometimes or slowly responding to comands.

The handset is upgradable to Android Jellybean and if your having software issue's I guess you should update, I myself haven't experience the problems being mentioned on here... Hi, ok it should tell you that theres an update available. But you can try backing your phone up onto your PC, and then do a hard reset, it will reset the phone to factory settings.Then, before restoring your phone from your PC, go to the update centre and see if it will give you the Jellybean update. And then once you have that, restore your phone. Doesn't your phone have a small notification at the top of the screen telling you that a new version of Android is available? Because Sony released the phones with an OTA update, as in the phone will tell you out the box that there's new Android. Older phones notified users of ICS, then Jellybean, and soon they'll notify of KitKat. Let me know if this helps, I think a hard reset might get the PC to recognize that you don't have Jellybean.

Hi, ok that is weird, it should update when you go to the update center. What I suggest is, back your phone up onto your PC, then do a hard reset. Once this is done it will be as if it's a new phone, without restoring your information from your PC back onto your phone, update to Jellybean. Then put your info back onto your phone. Does your phone give you a small message at the top of the screen that there is a system update available? Let me know if this doesnt work, :).

It depends on your network operator and mobile phone company, basically when an update comes out on and your phone can run it spec wise and Sony have announced that the phone will update if this is the case you may want to go to the Sony website and manually update via USB cable but iev never done it that way but feel free to try, unlike nexus devices which get android updates instantly other phones running on android will have to wait a while due to Google making sure that the firmware is stable on the phone and will manage new the new update also your network provider may affect when you receive your update. If your still stuck go to Sony support on their website and post your question that's what I did and they were very helpful!

I have the same problem with this phone after I upgraded the OS. but I figured out how to stop the and my photos can be viewed on the albums again. All I did was make a complete back up on my computer. Then I made a hard reset and waited for several minutes until it booted and its back to normal with the latest version. It doesn't hang anymore and it has the new version. everything works perfect now. I love my xperia go, perfect size, and companion for my Gopro...

it could be the worst phone availabke for this price. I've had a replacement made and yet the phone hangs like hell. Battery just doesnt last. The basic purpose of a phone is toanswer calls n this phone failed in that aspect. It laaaaags n lags and thats pretty much all it does. The water proof casing flaps fall off. Sound cord doesnt work. As for BBM, it should download no problems, I downloaded BBM onto my Go recently and for the first day it didn't work very well, but still worked, once I got the Jellybean upgrade it worked perfectly well. You don't need the new Android for BBM, but it'll work better. Last thing, the Android update is done via Sony PC companion, it's pretty easy to follow.

cleanmaster is very good just dont clean the picture preview are you using JB? it has problems on pic preview... keep GB battery saver apps are useless. it depends on your use for the phone. i keep it lowest brightness when i can see well wifi/3G always off when not in use... you'll get at least 2-3days battery

I bought this phone last month and all i can say is it is really awesome. You get more than what you pay for unlike my previous phone iphone 4s. For a very cheap price, you can almost do everything of what a smartphone should do or should be capable of. Plus i love the simplicity of its design. The only edge of iphone 4s is the camera, screen size, and video quality. However xperia go can also provide good quality photos and videos. And its durability is what sets the xperia go apart from iphones. And most of all, iphone is so freakin expensive wherein other smartphones can provide same features.

Xperia go is not water resistant, not water proof, not scratch proof. They didnt repair my phone when it was soaked until it hung up and would not boot. Very bad idea when i thought of buying this phone. Very very very very disappointed.........

This phone has been very problematic since I bought it:- The touch buttons below the screen are infuriating,when watching videos or playing games they get inadvertently touched & then you go directly to the home screen. The video recorder function doesn't playback the videos you've recorded & there's no dedicated camera button making it guesswork everytime you take a self portrait as the button is on the touchscreen. The phonebook also deleted itself completely once without reason,fortunately I had written down all my contact nos. The charger is tedious to connect & disconnect as you have to first pull out a flap,which will then fold itself back when you try to plug in the charger. The Android OS is a very unfriendly system with poorly thought out calendar,menus,photo album,music player etc & it's slow.The basic OS in my Sony Ericsson K790i is infinitely superior. Also if I try to switch off the phone,most of the time it just restarts. Remember this phone has only two hard buttons - POWER & VOLUME,so if you hate touch screens & touch buttons I strongly recommend against buying any Sony Xperia model as they all come with those user interfaces. I'm planning to replace the Xperia Go with a BlackBerry Bold or Curve soon. Thanks for reading!

Install Cleanmaster app. That will clear the cache. 512mb is capacity of our phone. But internal operation eats up memory for them to work. I have my Xgo and I just clean it twice a week. Trust me. You wont be disappointed. Hope this resolved your concern.

I have the same "problem". But it's a good thing. when wifi is weak it stops automatically, saving battery... Thats why I prefer 3G... when I'm close to my router/modem its perfect wifi... in the living room i lose it... not a problem. it just stops when its weak

But if you've had probs with JB, keep it with GB ;) sorry for bad english now for old games lovers... search for GBA emul... mine stands for almost 5 days 24h on stanby, wifi/3g only ON when I need, gaming texting and music... put it lowest brightness when you're at home. its enough. biggest problem are the apps running on background. install cleanmaster or mobilecare to kill tasks once a day... LOVE my Xgo... still running GB... much better not upgrading it

Out of the three you named the only one with dual core is this sony. A better question is what do you want your phone to do. If your looking for an electronic companion to keep attached, the Go probably isn't it. For the price though it is a good phone.

only thing I can think of is extreme temperature difference. But if I am not mistaken it would have to be in excess of 70 degrees F, difference on each side of the glass, so for example from internal temp of 105 which is REALLY REALLY hot for a smart phone, it would need to be 30 degrees out side the phone for the glass to shatter. Alternatively, dropping it lol, j/k i was paying attention^^. Maybe Ultrasonic vibrations but then more than your phone glass would shatter. Perhaps swelling of the phones constructive material due to the excessive heat but honestly all of the above is a serious long shot.

turn off your phone and connect with a pc.... Go to my computer ,and open mobile mass memory then right click on this drive and format mass memory... Discunnect your mobile and turn on... Now your problem solved...no asking for password..sorry for bad english....

Sony make some great TVs, HiFi and portable audio. Their Sony Ericsson conventional candybar phones were great. I bought this phone because of Sony reliability, its neat size and it looked pretty cool. But, this phone is the worst phone I have ever owned. I upgraded it to Android Jelly Bean. Here are the problems: - does receive calls but does not always ring. The phone has to be rebooted every day for it to ring properly. - When dialing - sometimes the phone will ring 30-40 seconds after you have pressed dial. A dangerous feature if you deal with confidential conversations. - To top it all, the glass broke near the USB port when I lightly yanked the charger. In my 13 years of owning phones - I've never had a phone where the glass broke on me. Sony phones have really lost their way.

Non-removable Li-Ion 1305 mAh battery cant expect much from it, 19 hours including 9 hours use, its better. phone looks great but initially all the inbuilt apps will be on phone memory and sd card option will be grayed out, few software's and apps cannot work if those are on SD card. if you realy wish to have the apps on SD card as it only has 512 MB ram. you will need to find a way to root the phone.

I bought this 2 days ago and I am very dissapointed. The battery is not lasting not even a day,I tested,last night i charged it (while it was closed) and by the morning already the battery had 93 % remain.I opened for a while wi-fi to test it,some music etc and the total battery lasted 19 hours(about 10 hours in stand by in the night)so 9 when using( not playing and web browsing almost nothing).I expected more from Sony.Also the sound quality is really clear but slow,for example when i walk in the street and it's traffic i can't hear almost nothing in the conversation.Pro:it is really resistant to water,i tested 3 times and had no problems but I expected so much more from Sony.Anybody else has so poor sound volume?

I think u must delete some apps u dont use often.remove also widgets from your screens, remove heavy apps or games, ram is only 512mb. Clear all recent items. Before i am encountering the same problem, but now its ok. I hope it helps

Battery does not Last 10 days at rest since it was new. Dont Like the idea I cant remove it to change. Using camera and try to move phone sLowLy to capture pic causes it to Jump out of Mode to Home screen. ALso cant put phone down now when Im on a call-Kicks itseLf out, ends caLL. Camera pics Good clarity, truer color than other phones and 5-8MP reguLar cameras. I Like the ALbum feature which aLLows me to seLect a photo in the archive to enLarge it onscreen, whiLe I'm in camera Mode or from the Menu. Auto focus and face recognition good. Need to improve access to other functions whiLe on a phone caLL. Pick-up of Internet is sLow and sometimes frustrating. Its the phone because my friends phone which is oLder and not as tech QuaLity picks up the internet faster when we are in the same Location. Speaker Loudness and QuaLity need to improve. Screen stays cLean, not smeared or scratched at aLL with care and wiping with a DRY soft cLoth. A GOOD Looking Phone.

Just one very important note for anyone thinking of buying this phone...you'll have only about 5GB for installing apps. The external SD card can only be used to store your own media files like music, photos, and videos but you CAN'T install apps on the external SD card. So if you're planning to download a lot of games or maps or whatever I guess you'll need a phone with a much larger storage capacity. Regarding the performance of the device it seems to be working well on android 2.3.7 (Gingerbread). I don't recommend upgrading to I.C.S or J.B. because it makes the phone much slower.

i really regret buying this phone. it says that its water resistant and i saw on its advertisement that even flashed with strong water or dipped in a pool it wont be damaged. I brought it with me in a beach and it got wet suddenly the power was no longer working. after i sent it back for warranty they said it was void because it got soaked. don't buy this phone, USB charging pin in the phone itself can be easily damaged by regular charging, what worse is that it is UNREPAIRABLE according to Sony Technicians, I have this phone until the charging pin was broken, it is under warranty, but they voided it, their reason is because there is a small crack in its casing which it accidentally falls off my hand before, but my phone is still ok after that, until one day when I was charging, I saw that battery is full already, so I unplugged the USB from the mini USB port of the phone, after that it won't charge anymore, so the charging pin was very sensitive so after multiple times of charging, it will be broken in the future for sure.. this is a warning to all, dont take the risk

I'm using XGo for 3 months. realised about one thing... apps just starts running by themself, even on stanby mode Testes a lot of battery saving apps... none is good Then I tried something - NOT A SINGLE APP RUNNING AT ALL So just installed Mobile Care and Clean Master... Killing task like twice a day and everynight before going to bed... I got it 6 days in a row calling texting surfing and gaming... Turn Off Wifi and 3G when not needed. "Apps are apps" anyway so just dont use them... not even those called "battery sabver" apps ;) Regards

I'm using Xperia go for a year now it's a very nice phone I've had problems with phone software when I upgraded to ICS now I upgraded it again to jelly bean and all the lag and software problem got solved, I dropped it to countless amount of time and I also use to wash it every week had no problem till now.... My advice is even though it's a rugged phone please put on some case to avoid damaging the flaps that covers the headphone Jack and usb.

Hello, I was using Go in the last 6 month. If the phone is frozen press and hold the "power on" and "volume up" buttons at the same time. After a few second the phone will vibrate once. It means phone restarting. If you press the buttons for a longer time, it will vibrate three times. It means the phone will turn off. In my case the GPS works well all the time. Without any network connection it takes more time to catch the signal. It takes 4-5 minutes. (With network it takes 1-2 minutes.) I've noticed that it get the signal faster if I hold the phone vertically. The camera worked allways. I've the "Camera is not available" only if a different camrea SW was running in the background/frozen or if the flashlight was on. (If you switch on the light you can hear that the camera is clicking. So it is absolutely in use, despite you can not see the live image.) To summarise the things I'm statisfied with this phone. I've used some different smartphones (Samsung Galaxy Y, Motorola DEFY, DEFY+) and this is the most relieable, battery life is quiet good also. The only thing that Viber drains the battery very much. (It consumes the battery in 3-4 hours.) I had to uninstall it.

1. GPS works only when connected to internet which makes it useless for sports tracking software and using GPS in places with weak on/off network. 2. Camera works around 40% of the time. Very often just shows "Camera not available" or just a black screen. Upgrade to ICS helped for first month or so and it began again - almost every photo needs restart. 3. USB cover connected to phone with some sort of weak plastic thingy that easily breaks and if cover gets lost makes waterproofeness a historical fact. 4. New joke from yesterday. Just freezing with not a single button working that leaves waiting for battery to dry out the only way to get it back to life as the battery can't be taken out. Looks good though :) But generally I feel very let down by Sony's week software and build quality for this specific model - I guess Xcover 2 should replace it just after 6 month of usage.

Really hard to say. J's display is better and bigger, but Go's processor is much better. I think that J is slower, but I haven't used it, so it's hard to say. You should decide what you want from phone and than decide which phone is more suitable for you. Of course, read a lot of reviews, see which are the most common problems. I think that every Xperia budget phone has its problems, because they don't have the best specs.

Well, they both seem to have the same specs, just Sola's display is a bit bigger and better. But it isn't waterproof. I think you should read a lot of comments about both phones, mostly about the problems and the decide which phone is better for you. For me Go is really suitable, yes, even after JB update phone sometimes freezes, but remember, Sola has bigger display and is 3 grams lighter then Go, so it might be a bit slower than Go. But anyway - read some reviews and make your decision! :)

this happens after the jelly bean 4.1.2 update. it's an os bug as it also happens with other xperia units that recently updated with the same. a temporary solution is to go to apps and go to album and clear all data. hope that helps until sony decides to release a permanent fix.

I have had this phone for some time. At first I have to say why am i disappointed. 1. I has no camera button, you can only snap pictures by pressing on the screen. 2. Although it has something called xLoud, while listening to the music it's not what I would call loud. 3. The battery life is not good. I have to charge it every day. But you can save energy using some apps, removing unnecessary things, not using animations, disabling some features. Then it's all good! 4. When I bought it, it had ICS (Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0...something), and it was really laggy. Sometimes I had to wait 10 seconds before an app opened. BUT not anymore... And now the good stuff- 1. Camera is good. In daylight. Pictures are really good. Indoors it's also nice, but in dark places not so good, but still, what can you expect from 5Mpx camera? 2. New update to Jelly Bean 4.1.2 (or just Android 4.1.2, don't even know) is the best. I mean - the phone is ten times faster. No lags. New interface is amazing. I am really happy that I found this update. Believe me, it is waaaaaay better than 2.0 or 4.0, because the phone, as far as I know, originally came with Gingerbread. 3. It's water resistant. How cool is that? Of course, I am not putting it in the water just to see what happens, but it is nice to be sure, that if something happens, the phone will survive. 4. The display is so good. All the colors look amazing, they are deep, so the image is much better looking. And in the sun, at first I thought, that I can't see a thing, but the I changed the brightness to MAX, and I have to admit, I was impressed. Everything was clear and beautiful, just like using the phone indoors! 5. It's Android, so there are A LOT of apps you can download and enjoy. Before I bought this phone, I had BlackBerry Bold 9700, so this is something really different, and I am enjoying it! Overall the phone is good. I like it. Of course, with 4.1.2 . But with this price tag and dual core 1Ghz processor this phone is amazing. And you should remember - just because it's water, dust proof and scratch resistant, you shouldn't give it a hard time. It's still a piece of tech that can easily brake and shatter. But I am definitely satisfied. And I recommend it. And if you have and questions, post them, I will try to answer, because I know, that buying a phone without any information is like buying a cat in a bag. :D

Honestly saying, Don't buy this phone. The phone was smooth in Gingerbread, after updating to ICS was lagging too much, after updating to JB, still lagging sometimes. Temple run 2 can't play smooth. lagging too much. Battery back up- I am using only wi-fi without sim card and in aeroplane mode. Drop down from 100% to 65% in 2 hrs with continuous internet using without stop. During call dial I have to wait for 5 sec then call will start. Buy if gingerbread system is available. ohetherwise forget.

Don't buy one! You'll regret later. Initially the phone works well but with time its unexpectedly gets hung in between. There's terrible time lag on opening phone's basic features like 'Phone' 'Contacts' and games like 'Temple Run' and its later versions don't work well. @ fariha - ok, if you feel that 8 GB is not enough then you can also look out for xperia j and xperia sola both have almost same price range but none of the two is water resistant... At this price range you can't have everything in one device .. you have to make a compromise somewhere and by looking down towards your requirements you can make a smart choice. I am listing here drawbacks of 5 phones of the same price range. You need to make a smart choice. xperia Go - having low ppi (180) otherwise phone is good. xperia u - no expendable memory slot. xperia j - everything is good except that it has a single core processor. xperia sola - a good one but unlike go its not water resistant. So check its reviews if you find it good then sola is also a good option... I bought motorola defy+ after watching all its competitors. Its a good phone and I am totally satisfied with its overall quality but sometimes it feels a bit slow due to its single core processor otherwise phone is excellent with very good screen quality. I bought it for 11500 Rs 3 months back. hope you find this post helpful.

@ fariha - ohk xperia u hasn't got any card slot ... its a huge drawback actually. card slot is needed a lot sometimes to free your internal memory and frankly speakin I don't feel that 4 GB of internal memory will be enough. SO look for a better option at almost same price range - xperia j.

@ fariha - At this price tag u can't expect to have everything in one device but for sure you can make a smart choice by looking down towards your requirements so that the gadget must satisfy you. 4GB of internal memory is quite good if you install apps that you actually require and not those which are needless. In fact defy plus that i am using has just a 2 GB of internal memory but haven't faced any memory issue yet because I've installed most of the apps in memory card. (Not every app can be installed in memory card, it depends on app). I am kind of person who utilizes his gadgets at its full. So if you feel that you also want to make best use of your gadget then love it and don't put too much pressure on it by installing too many apps. Moreover xperia u is a good option if you like the design. From my side - it has no memory issues but its better if you'll ask some xperia U user. I bought defy at a very affordable tag of - 11500 Rs. So at this price I can expect it to get a bit slow sometimes but it has totally satisfied me with its overall performance. and may be that's because before buying it I inquired about the device for a looong time. So I would say before buying any device you just ask some user for drawbacks of the device.

@ fariha - better option would be xperia U because of its screen quality... 280 PPi means a very lively screen resolution as compared with go's 165 (pixels per inch). But if you are looking for a water resistant phone then you know the option. but with non removable battery of go sometimes user faces problems. and lastly dimensions of xperia go are not handy if screen size is taken into account so i would recommend xperia U. Its a better phone at this price. and if you are looking for a water resistant dust proof and scratch resistant gadget then check for motorola defy plus ( definitely a good one in terms of built quality and user experience. here is the link. -

Screen resolution is not up to the mark at this price ... only 180 ppi (pixels per inch) moreover battery can't be removed. and dimensions as per the screen size are too big. when you are lying on bed sometimes you are forced to use the other hand. Definitely defy plus is a better option. having a 3.7 inch screen with smaller dimensions and with better ppi i.e - 265 pixels per inch. very nice phone to use. the only drawback is single core processor but doesn't lags very much . So definitely a better option.

I like the layout of the keyboard. Sony has lots to choose from. You can have QWERTY in portrait and landscape mode, or a number pad in portrait. I use the QWERTY quite easily with the swype mode on for typing.

It's Android so you can have the keyboard any way you like. You can have it t9 style when Portrait and Qwerty when landscape or I have mine (on a slightly smaller phone) Qwerty for all rotations. The phone was great with GB, but after upgrading to ICS and Jelly bean ma xperience has been pathetic with it. the phone lags a lot even while trying to open dialled list or contacts, forget gaming and other things. To add to it i dropped my phone on a marble and there has been a crack on ma screen which irritates me and costs 7500rs to fix it. Ma question is it supposed to break like that, based on the rugged and rigidity image they have given to the display as well as the phone ? and yea the battery sucks to the core when you use it normally or on 3G ! hi jana... about the GO,.. I am very disapointed by it. okay. the good thing: i can drop it in a glass of water.. and it stil works and a lot of no-good things: first of all.. GPS is lousy! it takes more then an hour to get something of a fix but with an accuracy of 500 meters! then it keeps loosing track very frequently... so the GO is not reliable for navigating.( this phone has been brought back twice and they say it works normal!) and another thing, the touch is BAD BAD BAD!! especially at the corners the screen is not touch sensitive.. wich means you have to touch several times to get the input.. and most of the times that doesn t work either. sliding is difficult.. because of this too.. so pinching is not working fine. or sliding to a next page.. results in opening something of the middle of that page... again.. in the sony repair shop.. they could not find anything.. so I have to live with it... and another thing.. it comes with lots of preinstalled apps.. witch you will never use... Me not.. you not.. nobody not!!! but it is eating space ok.. I am not an apple fan.. but surely a sony GO is definitly not worth the money! unless you want to throw it in the water!

i noticed a lot of you guys are complaining about the phone being laggish.i also experienced the same. i think, what makes it lag is the preinstalled mcafee antivirus when u updated it to ice cream sandwich. i deleted the app and my phone works faster and the battery is also axtended. the RAM available when the phone is running also became bigger, from 100mb-120mb to 150-190mb. now, i can play Nun attack and subway surf without any problems.

the most smooth and good performance for xperia go is Gb 2.3.7. ics and jb is laggy. the camera in ics and jb is to slow to shot and the application takes time to start and you can fell lag when playing games in jb and ics. gb still rock in xperia go really fast. i downgraded my xperia go. and im happy.

a really good phone for outdoor i try my phone in the beach salt water for 1 day and half day in swimming pool and i throw my phone in the sand and its still working i take picture and video using this phone its amazing that after that it survive. the update of jb does not improve the camera it shot slow and u cannot touch the screen under the water. the screen doesn't response in the water. and the battery is good i use the phone for the whole day. i hope that there is another update that will improve that camera shot, make it shot faster like in gb 2.7. this will be great. really nice phone..

The speakers are CRAP both for music as well as as for calls. Display is also disappointing however the Bravia Engine does kick in while playing videos which helps. So if Display and Sound are weighing heavily on your mind look for some other phone. If your an outdoors-men like me then this phone should be fine.

i had the same issue... typing was a PITA.. even answering calls was sometimes impossible.. went to sony service center as my device was under warranty and they did a software reinstall and they formatted the device. but nothing helped, so i submitted my device and got it replaced free of cost.. but they took 22 days to replace it.. now i have a new phone with jellybean installed and works perfectly ! hope this helps !

i need to know when it will come to Egypt i'm so disappointed every country now has it expt us and yes the JB is very good go on Google and type jellybean interface on Sony xperia GO : and wach the video its suppose to be smarter and faster and iphone is trying to do the same on iphone u can now upgrade to IOS6 which comes with iphone 5 on iphone 3gs imagine, the trix in updates now i belive its not that they want to add more and more things that u have to get another mobile to handle but its the other way arround they r trying to make it softer and smoother so the user of a 1ghz and 512 ram can still run it as he dont need to pay extra 2000 pounds egy to get an s3 to fit his needs or more ots about 2800 LE to get just a galaxy s3 lol what is that its 4400 LE now so i think the xperia go is a fare example for a middle mobile phone which helps u in all ways and its exacty an IPHONE 4s but its name is sony same every thing ram rom prossesor every thing + water and dust resist but in my opinion i will stay on the ice cream sandwich untill they (sony) upload a very stable JELLY BEAN and the ICS is beautiful if ur still on Ginger bread upgrade to ICS and ull find it enormus and u will lay down to get the jelly bean after a while until sony test its on the xGO and see if it fits or fix some bugs as google itself do with is applications

When I plugged in my headphones to Xperia Go (Jelly Bean 4.1.2) to listen to music, I almost damaged my hearing because the volume was at max. It was too loud. On my LG Nexus 4, whenever I plugged in the headphones, the volume automatically adjust to about 40%. This is something very basic and I'm disappointed Xperia Go Jelly Bean update didn't add in this feature to attenuate the volume whenever the headphones are plugged in to the device.

Even after upgrading to Jelly Bean on my Xperia Go, the touchscreen is very unresponsive. Many times, my swipe is wrongly registered as a tap. When I swipe on the screen, the items do not move, instead, it goes into the app on the screen as if I tap on it, but I didn't TAP, I was SWIPING! Also, when I type fast on the onscreen keyboard, many letters are missing. The touchscreen doesn't respond in time to my typing. Often when I tap and swipe on the screen, there is no response at all. Anyone else having this issue?

its supposed to be so resistant but it slipped from my hands and now the screen is broken. I would not recommend this phone.
