Best phone for it's price. Very durable. Great camera quality and design is superb. I use the pink one. Currently I don't think Sony will make a phone that have bezels. I just wish I could downgrade my phone to nougat. I use flashtool and ended up bricking my phone and only the service center officical could repair it because on my pc it says device not found after wiping everything on flashtool.

It's best to stick with Android 7 (Nougat), if possible. Once you go to Oreo, its screws up your touch screen over time.

Just go for the realme, I have this phone since it was launched, its an outdated phone, camera is good if theres a VERY good amount of light, but if theres non, esp in night time, its trash. Processor not good and battery not good.

If someone is thinking about buying it... It has a really weak chipset. It will make - do in normal usage of Facebook and stuff but highly not recommended for playing games. The main camera is fine. Nothing special, but similar to most other phones in its price today. The selfie camera is pretty good and is better than most others in low light.

Total waste of money. Gpu is shit and battery back up is hardly 15 hours.i have to charge it twice daily and though it has USB type c it takes about 2 hour 35-45 minutes to be fully charged. Look is good, build quality is solid, looks premium, feels premium but I will not recommend anyone to have this one... 😒😒

I bought my Sony xperia xa1 ultra six months ago. In april 2019, my phone charging status showed slow when i charged it. Sometimes it shows Good, but mostly Slow. I operate with Security application, but mostly it showed Slow. I changed the charging cord, but not Good. Does i need to change the battery or to go service room?

If you can still get one, especially if discounted, go for it. Had mine since release and it was a bargain. Can easily compete with many high-end phones. Also very sturdy build. A genuine good phone from Sony.

I am using this phone for over a year now... And it had minor bugs but they were rare, i can't complain about the phone really, desing is so great, the camera is awesome on both mods, ram is very good and i was able to play various games on this phone, the ram did great job. Memory is good enough, sound is clear, touch never bugged but the best thing about it was the camera really i loved it and i was able to take some awesome pics thrue the year, they look like pro pics for real. I can only complain about battery... It could have been better

By far the worst phone i had. Bought this phone last July 2018, the updates are killers to the system. Everytime the system updates, your phone lags. It can't take the weight of the new OS. THE WORST PART IS, MY PHONE SUDDENLY SHUTS DOWN, PERMANENTLY! it has been having resets for months now but just yesterday, my phone died. hard reset doesn't work, apparently, there was a firmware issue... doesnt make sense. Camera is not that good. I had to use third party devices to get good shots. Also, if you take photos, has a lag period of 5-10 seconds before it clicks. I have so many issues to share but im too pissed to type. anyway, im getting a new phone. useless piece of equipment and a total waste of money. Plus, the phone case? if it exist, they're aweful.

Bought this phone last December 2017. I updated it then the problem started. It became lagging when I just installed the apps i usually use with my Asus Zenfone 2 (my Zenfone 2 performance was so much better) The camera specs sound promising but the actual use was so disappointing. After 2 months, it looks "phased-out". so disappointing. waste of money. I should have go with other brands. Don't buy this. I am now having a hard time selling it because the specs were already outdated. And also, I didn't realize that it doesn't have gyro sensors so I can't play PokemonGo in AR mode.

Had it for about a year and the charge port is now highly unreliable and it seems to be a known issue. Disappointing quality control because that port is the most critical and most used point of wear and I baby my phones so Sony cut corners or somebody f***ed up.

Yes you can play PUBG Mobile on XA1 Ultra. But not in the HD and Ultra HD mode for better display. Anyway it runs smooth.

a product with engineering failure: i went to warranty 4 times due to same screen problem. Screen is not durable enough for normal daily use, especially at contact points with the frame upper right, after every 2-3 months there is gap on upper right corner which leads to yellowish ring on the screen. Sony does not admit it is engineering failure but still replace the screen every time. However, i am out of patient with Sony terrible warranty service. Sony is going HTC's way. Never again.

Had a black one before, the screen has problems, I sent it back and they replaced it. During the process I bought the Gold one, no problems. It has been 3 months now. I hope this phone lasts as it has most of the feature I need. However, I admit that Sony quality is declining a bit.

So far the phone is very good. Even with the small 2700mah battery. 90 minutes of sot and 21 hours on battery and still at 68%. The only thing lagging is the fingerprint scanner.

-battery life is actually very long -can play majority of games (works smooth on hd but will have some lag on ultra hd game settings) -yes it almost works as a tablet -speakers are loud and clear, however, turning the volume down by one bar/click will drastically change the volume instead of smooth transition of the sound -due to the screen size watching videos are great as well as looking at pictures -as far as I'm concerned there is no GLOVE MODE. -i love drawing and for the screen size I actually hoped it came with a stylus -fits awkwardly on most pockets (you'd need deep pockets to conceal it) -charges quickly -screen is still noticeably bright even when on the lowest setting (can only be further turned down on stamina mode) An overall great phone for the price

Regarding the memory card, i'm now using a 64G SP elite XC type, bought in store (walk in taiwan store). About your other question about z3 and xa1 ultra, when it comes to battery life and video recording z3 won, but when it comes to multi threading, camera pixels, and android OS update, xa1 ultra will benifit to have the latest update android oreo,... you may also take a look with the specs of both here in gsm arena.

Cons: UI very intrusive, extreme lag on menu systems and typing to the point of frustration. All wireless methods (cellular, WiFi and Bluetooth) stop working often and requires reboot. Camera auto focus very poor, often focusing past the subject for no apparent reason.

Have not had this phone very long yet but I'm enjoying the large clear screen that is very nice for someone that likes to read a lot and watch YouTube and Netflix. The phone is fast and runs smoothly. It is a bit big so initially awkward to handle but I got used to it pretty quickly when I realised the advantage of the big screen is worth making handling a little less easy - taking a centimetre or two off the length would have made it look better. I do like the simple design though. Selfie camera is nice. Have not tried the back camera.

I've had this phone for about a month and a half (I used to have a xiaomi mi A1 but it was stolen) and I have to say that I have zero complaints. I've had phones with fingerprint reader since 2015 and I thought I was going to miss that, but with the face unlock feature it works very well for me. overall I'm quite pleased and impressed. I've been having the same issue with the phone lagging dramatically while in the middle of a call. Called for support and was told that the processor is not able to multitask. They didn't give me a solution. Other phones with the same processor don't have this problem and is very disappointing that their own helpdesk is not able to give a better answer.

I want to love this phone. Great performance and all. Lots of trouble using GPS. When I leave my WiFi I have to reboot my phone for my data to work. It's also hard to find a good protective case that won't break in a month.

I've been using this phone for 6mos' based on my experience below were the pros and cons Pros: *The screen is outstanding and satisfying to eyes. *The camera is very good *Performance is great. *Sound is great *Battery life is good. I bought the white Sony xa1 ultra, it has been working very well so far. The phone is amazing. It the camera i don't get sometimes, i do have issues with focusing and colors. There are some apps on it i don't want, is it okay to disable it? the pop when you press "disable" shows "if app is disables, other related apps may not function properly or system may become unstable" I don't want the amazon, playstation Apps. Easily the best mid-range phablet on the market for 2017. Battery life (Despite being only 2700 mAh) is fantastic. The screen is gorgeous and runs really smooth with the P20. If Sony had slapped stereo speakers onto it, a fingerprint scanner and upped the battery to 3000 mAh This would have easily been the best mid-range phone on the market period. Only complaint really is the Camera can be a bit sluggish. Picture quality is superb but the autofocus can be a tad annoying and it can be a little slow after snapping a picture/post-processing.

Disappointed thus far. I have loved Sony ever since I used my first playstation when I was a kid. I still have it, it still works just as well as the day I bought it. I still have my PS2 (FAT), PS3 (Slim) all in good working order. No problems whatsoever. I had a Google Nexus 6, but it had been awhile since I bought the phone and the RAM was not able to keep up with today's apps and memory demands. So I decided to get the Google Pixel XL, unfortunately that phone is hard to come by, so I began searching for an alternative and I came upon this phone, the Xperia XA1 Ultra. I looked over the specs and it matches nearly every aspect of the Google pixel at about half the cost. Since it was a relatively new phone, there was not a lot of user reviews about it on the net. I decided: "Hey it's a Sony product, they make great consoles, the PSP and Vita were awesome, so this one can't be far off, right?" Wrong, Wrong, WRONG. This phone has a mind of it's own. The phone will literally just start tweaking out without me touching it, it will open apps and act like the screen is being touched but no one is touching it. Every time, without fail, I take it off the mount in the car the camera app opens... the most frustrating thing is when I'm actively using my phone and it will just start doing it's own thing and it will even send a text that I was in the middle of writing or won't respond to touch, like it's locked up. I have to restart it everyday or this will happen. I don't mind restarting because I have become used to turning it off at night to sleep, let it charge and I turn it on in the morning but occasionally I forget and this thing acts like a junkie who hasn't gotten it's fix for awhile and just flips out. Once it opened Google Maps and for about five minutes I watched it zoom in and out on the entire world map, to different parts of the world, the thing was sitting on my coffee table, I thought it was possessed! I turned it off and it froze, I had to google how to do a hard restart which worked... thankfully. Many times when I am listening to music it will just randomly change my song, or restart it. it never plays any GIFs, it will never automatically bluetooth connect to my car, I have to connect it likes three times manually before it decides to stay connected to my car. About the only thing that works well on this phone is the Playstation Plus app, go figure. I will get PS4 notifications and messages on my phone before I get them on the console, and it never gives me any problems when I am using Sony apps. Overall, I am highly disappointed with this phone and I'm just waiting for my tax refund next year to go buy the Google Pixel 2XL. I still love Sony products but I will never invest in one of their phones again.

Xa1 ultra is overall a better option. -The storage 16GB VS 32GB, it was a very major issue with the xa ultra last year since the system takes 9GB of storage. -Performance and battery life much better in the xa1 ultra knowing that both have same battery capacity but the P20 processor in the xa1 ultra is a massive improvement from the P10 in the xa ultra in terms of efficiency and performance. -USB type C in the Xa1 Ultra vs micro USB. -4 GB of ram in the Xa1 ultra with much better memory management vs 3GB. -Android Oreo as the last version for the Xa1 ultra, xa Ultra already stuck at Android Nougat. I think this comparison i mentioned is more than enough to choose the Xa1 Ultra over the xa Ultra.

You'll appreciate the design more if you use it caseless. Really beautiful and I fell in love with it. *Battery performance I used it for a day without charging (stamina mode deactivated) . Wifi is on 24/7. I love browsing the Internet and use social media a lot and sometimes I play games. If you activate the stamina mode it will restrict some apps to lengthen the battery hours. If you use the Ultra Stamina mode your battery will last for three days. People shouldn't worry about the battery capacity. It's better than the other mobile brands. Used a lot of different high end brands with higher battery capacity but this is the first time I got really satisfied with the battery. Very good Sony. *Sound is also nice but I would like it very much if they put two speakers instead of one but all in all its not bad. Even my phone's inside my bag I could still hear the notifications without a problem. Watching videos on speakers is also okay but not the best. Just use your earphones for a better experience. I recently got a system update and it fixed the sound problem while you watch some videos on Facebook. I really do not understand why the problem only occurred on FB since I watched a lot of videos on YouTube and got no problem at all. *This phone is not cheap but it's affordable compared to the other mobile brands out there. *Putting your charger won't give you any trouble even at night since it is USB Type C cable- it is Reversible. Cons: This phone won't fit your jeans pockets especially women jeans. Overall this is absolutely a great phone and you won't regret buying this one. Go to Sony stores try, feel and experience it for yourself. Reviews online would help you but of course the buying decision is still in your hands. When you fell in love with it you won't even fall asleep thinking about getting this phone even you read some of reviews online. By the way this is the first time that I bought Sony mobile phone and to be honest I think when I buy a new mobile in the future I will choose Sony again. Xa1 plus monster battery life, finger print scanner, very loud speaker placed at the bottom, slightly big and heavy as much as the xa1 ultra. Have had XA1 ultra for 7 months now, and I'm still happy with it - I don't notice a difference in battery life from my previous Samsung - best phone I've had for videos, sound is good. Very durable design (sad to say I drop it daily, never had a case) Only issue is scarcity of accessories locally, must be bought online. Considering price, features, and how much I like this phone, If smashed or lost I would buy another out of contract, even after seeing more recent offering from other manufacturers.

Anyone have try the GPS and Bluetooth receiving. My current Sony XA ultra from day one has this two issue. Bluetooth can only work within 4m, GPS keep lost signal when ever there is cover walkway , bridge and road. I have sent in the service 3times time now they just can't solve it and now idea. In fact tested on another unit also same issue . Now they want to replace me with XA1 ultra and want to close my case , if XA1 ultra having same issue I won't be able to make another complaint if I accept the replacement. Got this unit 2 days ago... Not satisfied with battery life, mid day down at 20%. Camera quality doesn't look like the given MP's. No fingerprint sensor. Choosing a ringtone from your music file is a headache. Got a little speaker which does not give loud sound compared to other phones. Getting distorted sound once volume is maxed out. Slow start up. The external speaker's voice is very very low and its quality is very poor. You cant even hear the loud voice when music is being played or a movie. Not expected from such an expensive xperia phone. The tempered glass does not connect well on its edge to edge screen and results in touch problem. The battery drains quickly with Internet usage or shareit. Rest every this is great.

Yeah... Finally I bought this mobile yesterday. I got the pink one. OMG, its very huge but cute mobile. Just love it. Like everyone, I was little worry with the battery capacity. But it's doing good. About the fingerprint, it's not big problem for me. The cameras r very nice especially the front camera. It's 16 mp with flash. With the hand sensor, to take selfy picture just so easy. No need to put the timer shoot. You just make up ur hand, the camera will detect it then action n the camera will shoot by it self. It is just so perfect huge cute mobile.

I have been contemplating whether to get this or the J7 Pro or J7 Plus of Samsung. I decided to get this one and it's a GOOD decision. I just bought this phone last week and everyone who is complaining about the battery, Sony's Qnovo technology is awesome. I don't turn off my mobile data every time I go out since I have unlimited data plan and my usual activity would be an hour of browsing, an hour or two of messaging, streaming videos and music for an average of 2 hours (overall about 4-5 hours of use with about 5 hours idle) and guess what, from 70% charge and after 10 hours of no charging, I went home with 30% battery left on the phone and streamed videos for another 1.5 hours before it reached 15%. Charging is indeed fast, only 30 minutes or less to reach 50%. Screen size is awesome for watching videos and playing games. My only complain about this phone is that the screen or display makes everything looked a bit washed out or too much exposure but that's okay with me. Yes it is big to fit in a small pocket but I don't mind. I also don't care that it does not have fingerprint sensor. I've been using my Xperia Z2 for more than 3 years and I survived not having a fingerprint sensor. I can easily use this phone with one hand even though it actually has an option for one-hand use and I am not a tall or huge person at all. 4gb RAM, 64gb ROM, great battery performance, 23mp rear cam, 16mp front cam for less than 400 euros, octa core processor and upgrade-able to Oreo, dual SIM slots with dedicated micro SD slot. Plus this is SONY not just any brand. Good camera and speakers. Not AWESOME but GOOD for its price! I'll be honest and say that my Z2 has better camera but hey, it's technically a more expensive and premium phone even though it's older. This is a GREAT deal! Plus mine came with a 2 year warranty that includes accidental damage. If you want a smaller, cheaper phone, go for the XA1. I've tried it from my colleague who owns one and it's also AWESOME for its price.

I was torn between XA1 ultra and XA1 plus, tried both the phones at a store and ended up buying the XA1 plus both are good phones but ultra being too big, also fingerprint sensor and bigger battery was also a plus point. Got the blue color which looks stunning although the phone weighs about 190 gms but doesn't feel heavy at all, camera is really good and touch is highly responsive. Got Sony stereo headphones free with the phone alonwith the normal headphones in the box, all in all a great phone.

Im really surprised with the battery performance. I've owned it for 4 months now and have to say that, although we're not talking about something spectacular (the battery is really small with only 2700mah), I'd never think in my best hopes that it'd last so long with such a massive screen. I'd say that the duration of the battery was my biggest concern when I bought it and that concern is now vanished. I'm a youtube addict and I play a lot of demanding games. It behaves really well. So far I haven't found a game that runs slow and I've been pushing it with Asphalt 8 or Gods of Rome, for instance, and it behaves wonderfully. Also, the advantage of this small (yet really surprising) battery is that the phone is super elegant, even with the massive screen. I like my phones big, so I dont mind the size (and the screen/body ratio is really good, too). For its size, it's super light and so so thin... Also, another surprise was how comfortable it is in your hand. If you're busy and can only use one hand, no problem!: it contains an option for one hand usage in which you can reduce the screen size, also "pushing" it either to the left or the right hand side of the actual display. That way, you now have created through software an emulated (roughly) 5" screen - or maybe even a bit smaller than that - that you can now fully and easily control with just one hand. It's a great solution for someone with small hands such as mine. But the actually spectacular feature is full on, full-brightness and super-vivid options enabled display. If you have everything on and at its max, the visualization of a film is just outstanding. Also, you'd need this kind of beautiful colours and light to fully appreciate the tremendous quality of both cameras. Yes, I've mentioned both because finally I own a smartphone that didn't cost 1000 euros in which the selfie photos are something to actually look at without ever realizing that the responsibility lies on the front camera. This is a powerful and detailed induced little devil, the front camera. Yes, at night the front flash helps a lot, even though I was so surprised by the quality of the photos when any of the 2 cameras is used with low light or even outside in the dark, at night time. On the low side, I have to mention the fact that it only has one loudspeaker, which is a disappointment for all the 80's Sony Walkman fanatics like me. Come on, a brand like Sony, that people link so much to music, should have included a 2nd speaker for stereo sound. Without that, in my opinion, it's loud enough, but it loses quality if you spike the volume up, which is a shame... however, I do recognize that I always use earphones. And, in the rare occasions in which I actually use it to play music aloud, there's always bluetooth and my faithful JBL Speaker nearby,.. (Noone really uses his smartphone to play music aloud, come on, even if it contains 2, 3 or 20 speakers.) Yep, the lack of a fingerprint sensor is also on the down side but, honestly, it's one of those things that I can perfectly live without. I've had it and ended up, with my previous phone, replacing it by usage of the old-fashioned 4 digit pin code... How expensive is it to make a phone water proof? That would also be a nice touch that I think that the Plus will have,. However, as said, the screen size is of major importance to me. I wouldn't want a screen any bigger than 6" but 5,5" is really not enough for me and the usage I give it, with mainly games and youtube (apart from the skype calls that are spectacular on both the sending and the receiving sides - with this front camera you better make sure there are no boogers inside your nose and you've washed your teeth after dinner before you decide to video call your girl because this unbelievable 16 MP camera will definitely catch them!!! On the other hand, you're actually holding a phone but in those times you really forget about that because it feels that you're actually in front of a tablet or small laptop, screen wise. I strongly recommend this phone for everyone that is looking for a big screen. The moment you look and grab the phone you fall in love (the design, feel and weight are flawless, to me, at least...). If you have any doubts regarding the machine under the hood I have to repeat myself: no game, so far, has pushed it beyond the point in which lagging is noticeable. Everything so far has been fluid and fast (maybe someone could suggest some heavy games on the hardware so that I can try them out and then post the results). Battery wise, expect no miracles but I do place it considerably above the usual autonomy of large smartphones, especially because I can usually go for the heavy games and, basically, if after a good 3 hours of play I see that I've used too much battery, then, as long as I have more than 5 per cent of battery, I can always activate the ultra stamina mode. It reboots the system and squeezes a few good hours out of those last 5-10% of battery. This is a real battery indicator, by the way, in which, after 4 months in which I haven't respected the most healthy battery charging procedures, the last 10% of battery will last you the same amount of time as the first (between the 90-100% - everyone had a phone that after a couple of months would switch itself off a few seconds after it got to 3 or 4%!!! or an iphone, in which the last 20% lasted as much as the first 2%!!!!) Anyway, on the market right now, I don't think you can find such a strong 6" device - I believe they call them phablets - with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of ROM an octacore processor with very interesting speed values (finally Meadiatek made it fast and reliable for gaming), the unique numbers and quality associated to both cameras - of course, especially the front one - , the surprising autonomy of such a light and elegance-allowing battery, the love inducing design (by the way, I'm a man, Portuguese, and I bought the Gold one, for the first time in my life, because it's freakin' beautiful!!!) at this price and with such a strong brand associated. This is merely my opinion, so... just think that I've been using GSM arena for years now and this is the first time I'm writing and look at the size of this tech love letter to my phone. Only a really goood device could cause something like this to happen! Go for it, trust me. Unless you want smaller. Or really expensive. Or..,. ugly. Or a chinese unpronounciable brand that advertises the RAM, the ROM, the 234 processors and billions of MAH of battery but then, when you get them, dont last as long, dont offer the same type of guarantee, dont perform as well as a real phone with not so impressive features but real ones, made out of real components from real brands. Quality has a price. I had an Oukitel K-6000 pro. Nothing bad to say about it. Really. But there's also nothing spectacular. putting them face to face on paper, there really isnt much of a difference between the XA1 Ultra and the chinese one. However, on a real face to face, I can play Asphalt 8 on the Oukitel. As long as I keep my hands off the back after 10 mins of gameplay, or I'll burn myself. And after a couple of months it starts lagging and lagging and lagging... You can't, of course, compare a 130 euro phone with another that is more recent and costed me 370 on the month of its release. But what I mean is that feature wise, they do seem similar on paper. That's why I say now: beware of this unbelievable chinese deals in which it seems that you can buy almost a flagship phone for 150 euros or less. That's impossible. Usually the phone won't last you more than 2 months until something happens (nothing tragic, just small things but annoying things - with lagging on top of my list, right next to the almost dangerous heating problems and battery issues) I love Sony ever since they made their first Feature-loaded Z. It was spectacular with features like the water proof that noone had seen before on a flagship, apart, of course, from the record breaking cameras it had and the battery, that was stupidly strong for the time. This XA1-Ultra is a mid-range phone that surely, to me, feels like it's really grasping on the flagship terrain. Especially when you compare it with some flagships after a good couple of months of intense and irresponsible usage. It's elegant, slim and light and big. And it's exactly like I wanted it to be. I have this phone and I can tell you that Helio P20 really packs a punch. Its 4 powerful cores of the total 8 are clocked at 2.3 ghz and performance is very smooth. Maybe you keep your phone at 100% or GPS is on all time thats why you loose battery. Sony is best in battery optimisation. My XA1 ultra lasts 1.5 days and can go upto full 2 days at times depending on usage.

I have been using it without turning it off for 5 days continuously now. Never restarted by itself. I used hotspot, wifi, music player, 2 hours of internet surfing a day, 1 hour for games (Infinite Flight Simulator, Temple Run 2). I feel Sony finally has a device that makes a lot of sense for this price range. I haven't faced heating issues as of now. What I read is that they have placed heat controlling systems inside the phone.

Yes, it is any day better than those phones. Sony is a master of sound, so there is no match in sound quality. The 6 inch screen is HD and is vibrant enough for gaming. Plus the Helio P20 chip gives decent power output without any drop in frames while gaming. The front cam is great, the 23MP rear cam is decent enough for regular purpose, colors are vivid and details are well captured. Yep I've tried them. I have auto brightness, smart backlight and image enhancement off, only have white balance set to 112 red. I don't think its a faulty panel maybe just no one else noticed this problem? Another thing I notice about the screen is that response time is slow, you can see texts ghosting when swiping up and down quickly.

Got mine last week. Battery is not a problem, with moderate use can easily manage 5+ screen on time. Only problem I have is the screen. Black is nice and dark when most of the content on the screen is light but when the screen content is dark, like viewing a dark photo in full screen, the screen automatically brightens up the shadow which I find very annoying. I don't have any image enhancement on and I can't find anywhere to disable this auto contrast thing. My last phone was a Z3 so maybe I was missing out on this new "technology" ?

Yes, it has a led for notifications. I have now used XA1 Ultra for one month. As I said earlierl battery life is very good. I charge it every second day. I have never managed to deplete the battery during one day, even with heavy usage. The build quality and screen is also very good on the ultra. The selfie camera might be the best selfie shooter ever on a mobile phone. I have only two complaints: - Why did Sony not put a fingerprint sensor on the ultra? Annoying to use lock screen password. - The rear camera is slighly disappointing. Macro shots is very good but in other scenarios there is too much blur and noise in the photo. Also the processing of the image is slow.

Great phone. Have it for about 2 months now, absoloutley not a single problem. Great speaker, camera, battery, it even got drenched in a cup of hot soup and it still works perfectly fine!! I'm not sure why everyone is making such a big deal about the battery. The battery life does NOT solely depend on its capacity. If you've owned the phone, then comment on battery life. I can play on my PSP emulator for an hour straight without the phone heating up and the battery life only goes down by about 10-20%.

I bought it for my dad as a gift but now seeing it I thought of getting one myself. Its battery is very good actually i'm amazed how a 2700mAh battery can last a day on a 6inch screen I myself have Asus 3 because of its battery as I travel a lot but after 3 months its battery life is pathetic my sis xa 6 months last longer. Hello, for me is the microfone. WhatsApp and Skype calls my mic is very low for the receiver. Starting the call without the earphones the sound runs bad, then when I plug the earphone and it changes to it mic, the sound is clear. Got my XA1 Ultra a couple of days ago. Battery life is surprisingly good. This must be one of the most energy efficient phones out there. 2700mAh sounds really small but the phone still gave me 6h SOT over 2 full days. Standby-drain is very good, it only dropped 3 percent over 10 hours with LTE, wifi and sync on. For potential buyers: No need to worry about the small battery in XA1 Ultra, Helio P20 is super efficient, perhaps even more efficient than Snapdragon 625.

Go for XA1 rather than z5 premium, because z5 premium has alot of problematic issues which by passed the QA, i have a z5 premium, very new but it's battery heat's up alot until you feel your pocket is hot, another thing is that the battery drains up faster. Like what I said in my previous post, I can play games and charge my Xperia Z3 using a powerbank, and it doesn't really heat up because I have this portable fan that I place at the back of my phone. I do this when I am playing while charging on powerbank. I never play while charging on AC. Now, if this phone does not charge while playing, then yeah, I will pass. 2700 mah battery is like 1 hour of game time at best. So yeah, definitely not a phone for me.

Sony said that the battery life cycle of the phone lasts much more longer than any other phone and it also has many battery care feature so its not actually a problem. 2.Fingerprint sensor is not really a necessity..you can install 1 app.

Well it's kind of missed up feature and missed up product if having it well protected means having no battery and not being able to use it. In theory overheating protection sounds great, but in case of that phone keeping it safe means not being able to charge it and use it, as much as I want. I'm a quite addict gamer and this phone doesn't suit my needs. I bought it beacuase of the screen size and I think this screen size is the source of problem, the output current is higher than input beacuse of the screen size. If somebody is not a heavy user it would probably serve him well, for watching instagram or facebook. But if somebody really wants to enjoy this screen for games or watching videos, the battery will be dead quickly (since it's not a very capable one) and the charging won't be possible.

Yeah the output is probably to much because the screen is sooo big which was really super cool until I have discovered that I cannot charge it while playing. My Sony Xperia Z had died on me. Red light blinking and not recharging and when i tried to open the back cover,i broke it. I sent it to a shop to have it repaired but they say it could not be repaired as the mother board has been damaged. I just want to retrieve the memory that I did not transfer to the SD card. I may have to wait 8 months before I can send it to a Sony Center back in my home country. Is there still hope to retrieve ? Actually this XA Ultra and XA1 Ultra is very suitable for parents too, because they want the big font larger screen for review photos and watching videos and it is still easy carry and still easy to holding. Moreover the ringtone volume loudness is excellent on XA Ultra and very good on XA Ultra, this is very suitable to elders and great as a music/audio portable device. Don't forget the outdoor visibility is great as well for both this, especially the XA Ultra have the great sunlight readability and also the lowest display light for better vision at night. And the OIS selfie also prevent hand shaking hand while taking photos. The indoor and low light selfie is capture a portrait image and a background image to combine become a great image.

There is no way big corporations will do cheap tricks like that, they need to get certification and other things. Some phones with big battery doesnt last long because usually their hardware/software arent optimised for each other. (Takes several updates to fix that, especially on new phones)

Well, I would suggest you to get A7 instead, A7 you'll get 32GB, octa core, finger print sensor, water and dust resistant. As for XA1 ultra you're just getting a bigger screen with no finger print sensor and the rest is just the same as the A7.

I'm still using the C5 Ultra model and I have to say it's one of the best 6 inch midranger out there in terms of performance. But with the XA Ultra (2016) and this year's XA1 Ultra, I really don't see much change to urge me to buy the new models. Mine has a bit chunkier battery with 2900mA battery. Finger print sensor and larger battery should be considered. The 1080p screen resolution works just fine, I think there's no need to change this.

I noticed in the specs "Bluetooth: v4.2, A2DP, aptX, LE," What happened to LDAC? Originally the Ultra line the phone size is so big, they wanted you to use the SBH accessory to answer calls. SBH-52... When the SBH-54 came out along with h.ear hi-res audio. You would think LDAC would come in about this time. The serious audio people want an LDAC mini receiver, the little bridge between. Yes it's in Sony phones, and soon to be on available on every phone since the new press release of Android O + Sony's LDAC. The freaking SBH-56 should have been the it item for that bridge of this shifting period.

I had the XA Ultra, but my GPS didn't work, I was going to send it to get fixed, but totally dropped it on it's face before I could send it. *sad* But that forced me to get the Z5 Premium, which I'm totally happy with. I'm like all the tweaks Sony put on the XA1 Ultra; moving the speakers to front dual-facing. More internal memory with 32/64gb integral option and 4gb RAM. Seems that everyone agrees that the batter is too small, and we would rather have a bigger batter and don't care about the weight of the phone. For me I just care about the screen size, so I already weight of the phone is last on my list. We are competing with the S8+ here now! I'm also disapointed to see the 2700 battery again. I have the Xa Ultra and really want to love this phone but the battery hardly gets me through a day. Sony support forums are full of XA users complaining about battery life and they clearly don't listen to customer base because they went ahead again with the same battery. Sony I will be looking elsewhere when it's time for a replacement.

Bingo. Well said. If including a bigger battery into a phone will lead to a bigger phone chassis ( wider and/ or thicker) even then its fine. Its a small price to pay for a bigger battery life nd many people wont mind an extra 1mm in width if they get a lot of battery life for it. This phone is already pretty narrow at 79 mm. Adding 1 or 1.5 mm to the width is no big deal, samsung and other 6 inch phones are i think even more than that. So sony can get away with it. Also gorilla glass protection is compulsory. A 6 inch phone will more likely tend to slip from the hand onto the ground than say a 5.5 or 5 inch phone. So gorilla glass protection is compulsory. As it is, sony service/repair centers are rare compared to samsung. So if there is no gorilla glass protection... sony phones will more likely be damaged and less likely to be repaired (due to lesser service centers) than samsung phones.

This video of the new Samsung S8 6.2 inches upsets me... The Sony Xperia Z Ultra 6.4 inches (2013), all Sony had to do is chip away the bezel to get to this point, add a flash, use the same snapdragon and be done with it. I had to walk through mud with T2 Ultra, C5 Ultra, XA Ultra to keep the size... Crappy mid range phones that didn't do it for me. I'm totally getting this XA1 Ultra, but still upset getting a MediaTek. They deminished the name of Ultra and now we see a 2013 in 2017. The 6 inch premium screen. So upsetting.

I have no complain on the spec of this model. But the battery still at 2700mAh which is the same as previous. The battery will wear over the time n need to charge quite frequently. It should be at least 3500mAh n above for phone size. Surely there are lots complain on this area on previous model. Sony isn't customer conscious enough on this.

It has been a phablet void for me too. Xperia Z Ultra was amazing! T2 Ultra, C5 Ultra were all disappointments. XA Ultra specs were too low. Finally XA1 Ultra with 64GB and 4GB RAM! If Sony used the exact same chip sets, and just worked on the body screen ratio, bit-by-bit, there wouldn't be this 2013-2017 real-phablet void. I had the Sony Xperia C5, I thought it was really cool when it had no bezels on the side. I got the Xperia XA Ultra, I think it's super pretty, but I was not happy about both devices having 16GB and 2GB RAM. That's not enough internal memory and power for me. I think the body of the XA Ultra is too soft, if you drop the phone on the sides on an edge; it dents hardcore like it's hollow. 64GB and 4GB RAM, I think is a good fix for this phone. It's the best Ultra reiteration after many years between the first Xperia Z Ultra the latest snapdragon at the time..

Been using the C5 Ultra Dual since the phone launched in my country. By far, the most unbearable thing of the phone is the dreary battery life, in which the battery only rated at 2930mAh. And Sony given this new Ultra phone a 2700mAh battery is quite a joke for me. But the front facing "stereo" (maybe) speakers are very tempting.

Decent battery life hey man stop dreaming you know as all of us customers a 6 inch screen display with 27000mAh battery is everything else but not decent. I dont know how much Sony pay you to write this trash but its not objective not event subjective. Its 2017 any phone with battery bellow 4000 mAh and screen over 5,2 will be power hungry as hell. I was really hoping to see a bigger battery this year. I have a 2016 XA Ultra and love the the phone but I need to use stamina mode just to get the battery to last a day. The was my first sony and impressed overall but they clearly don't liaten to customers. The Sony support forms have many posting about the battery. Some users reporting thry have spoken with sony customer service reps and have been told it's a known issue on these devices... Only to release the next gneterion with the same battery spec. I had a 100$ credit from my provide for a billing error they had made so I got my ultra at 25% off retail price so I can't complain overall, however I'll have to look elsewhere when it's time for a new one.

It still doesn't come with a fingerprint sensor and waterproof resistant. It is still the same with its previous version though. They should have worked out with the battery capacity at least, but not. :(

Sony has done a good job this year, I love this value selfie phablet. It has a beautiful side-bezelless design with a good 6" IPS FullHD display, Android Nougat, very efficient 16nm Mediatek Helio P20 SOC (on par with Snapdragon 625) with 32/64GB storage and 4GB RAM(extremely good for a mid-range device), flagship level main camera 23MP 1/2.3"(the same camera like Sony Xperia XZ WOW!) and another flagship camera in the front(similar to the main one in Samsung Galaxy S6) 16MP 1/2.6"(WOW again, this is the best on market), ac WI-FI. . The single con would be the tiny 2700 mAh battery, but we hope that the efficient 16nm SOC and FullHD screen will make up for a decent battery life and Pump Express+ 2.0 charger will be included for fast fill up. Every photo or selfie lover should consider this cameraphone!

ppi ratio is not correct. How can a 6" display with 1080p display have 700+ ppi display density??? 5" 1080p display have 441 ppi, how can this 6" 1080p display have 700+ ppi? I think writing mistake.
