my z5 dual got stolen, after getting a headache trying to figure out what i can get for 150€ used, i've ended up getting z5p dual, z5 dual sell now for 80-100e, i don't want anything bigger than 5.5, i need phone jack, i need a real ip68 (u11 eliminated), a decent camera like in lg g6 would be much better, but their lte support in france is bad (shame, lg g6 and u11 UI look very close to zperias, i don't want to switch to that horrible big button un the middle like samsung & others). so, i gonna stay with z5 for another couple of years (unless it gets stolen before :-)

the phone is quite good tbh. but unfortunately, the audio system whenever an earphone being plugged, the phone will not indicate or turn its speaker towards the earphone. Need to install another software to listen through the earphone. One more problem is the pictures transferring from phone to PC. Whenever connected with PC using USB cable, some files tends to be missing and even software for transferring already installed, it's difficult to transfer as the connectivity is not stable and tends to hang whenever transferring in process. Gives me headache every time. Sigh.

I never bothered about buying newly released phones, so I only got this phone in last year's final months. Bought it in its sealed box with good discount at a small retailer who seemed to be trying to get rid of older devices. It wasn't exactly cheap and to be honest I regreted spending that money on a phone, since I only needed to make and receive calls and use basic apps. But as soon as I began using the device, I realized that I had just got my hands in the best phone I ever had. Everything works very fast, owning a waterproof phone brings much more safety (and fun!) than I ever imagined, the camera is really good, storage is more than enough for me so far, impressive screen, very good stereo sound, 3GB of RAM are really a very good deal, fast charge with the genuine charger, very good earphones, battery lasts almost all day with moderate use.... I did run into some minor software issues, but even after using it daily for more than 4 months, I'm still impressed by this phone's performance. The device feels good, runs fine and do his job with speed and safety.... And from now on I'm probably addicted to owning better smartphones than I used to.

I bought this phone recently on 50% offer from a dealer for a display item with three month dealer warranty (not Sony). Everything working fine. But when I make calls through in build microphone, the other person gets echo and metallic noise. This issue is somewhat solved when I use the wired handsfree and fully solved when I use bluetooth handsfree. I initially thought the problems was with the microphone. But, the recording quality is very good except a little bit of low recording level. Them I factory reset the phone, repaired the software through Sony Companion. Nothing worked. I afraid I might loose the waterproofing if I give it for warranty repair as it would be attended by the dealer technician (they will straightaway open it without checking all other options) not by Sony. Any clue?

Snapdragon 835 which is getting impressive nowadays in new Smartphone but this have already benefited in this mobile.Anytime this smartphone is superfasr after having more large apps 2. Camera does the trick still its pyre better. Only Rear Camera. 3. Display glass. God this gorilla glass is strong and for the entire two years my mobile slipped 8 times without any scratches but a minute break over near the power button 4. Software update. Regular software update been made and its useful. 5. Water resistant. Its very handy not with water. Oily hands or hands on masala. Any situation a simple wash I get my entire mobile new Cons : 1. Processor. Although I said the processing speed is good. Recently I had some freezing of my mobile due to heating issue 2. Camera. Front camera 5 MP on a price 55k is so mad. But anyhow Sony made a mistake there without flash. Overall its fair 3. Battery. Generally am a rough user of game, chat, talk user. Nowadays using data usage juices the battery a lot. If u are using roughly am damn sure u will get left 0 charge in 6 hrs ( audio, video, call, message, data usage). This is happening a lot in upcoming new Smartphone rit. agree it?? They will give for 5 hours. But this mobile with3340 gives 6 hours 4. Sim slot cover. This got removed coz of button holder. Now I have to use my sharp nails to remove them 5. Back case. If u are a user of this mobile u would have received the Full front and back pouch case worth 3000. Its really not worth will get damaged in a month. 6. Headphone jack. This is not working for my. I've used the phone for over a year now...still works perfectly only for a little wearing off of edges. I love swimming n never encountered any problem with its IP68 certification. maybe you got a bad model or literally leave your phone in water for 3 days.

well damn good phone, everything is awesome but havent got ps4 so i havent try connect it to PS4, anyway i tried everything as to go to swimming pool and take a selfie or my friend pic inside the water without problemo, wash it sometime coz i hate oily (which my face is oily), no heating problem, and fast charge? well of course it is but didnt dare to update coz i did update 3 of my XPERIA and it all went wrong not only that even my samsung s7 edge went wrong too after software update. wish all android can update software easily just like apple product even tho its taken quite a while at least there's no strange things happen after update (like : overheating, charge slow, ghost touch, consume much battery, etc...)

Had this smartphone, have to be honest, it worked fast. But didn't charge as quick as advertised. sometimes got heated, had to turn it off. Never water proof, I believed Sony advertisement and put it in water to check its water proof, but it was damaged. As, I purchased it from different country, I was kicked by service centers as Sony didn't have international warranty. Now warranty time is over and it is still being sent to different countries. The strange thing is that, even service is different in different countries, I mean in Dubai for example, they said they would repair it on paid basis but without LTE function, because LTE/4G is not compatible in Dubai. I'm just going mad with nonsense replies from different service centers of different countries.

If anybody asks me anything about this phone, I would say nothing, but good things. First of all, it's steady gadget. With very right weighted body and material. It comes with outstanding screen and beautiful build of OS. Never shows up any error, never makes your life harder. It's very smart, intuitive and ready for regular use. I know how flagships are built, but in this case, flagship is very accurate with it's potential owners' expectation. There is no even single reason which procrastinates you from anything. No iPhones and other extra-promoted phones can beat it. Sony did it right. The only problems I can mention are: fingerprint scanner sometimes misunderstands my fingerprint, dunno why, maybe it's small size and battery. Which drains little bit faster, after 7.0 update, cause screen is no longer rendered in Full HD. Otherwise, this phone is super intelligent and very well made! Suggestions to everyone.

My z5 premium never heats up . I love this phone . The only problem with z5 premium when you install cracked or free version apps. I recently using paid apps and no cracked apps it's working amazingly good no heats up problem. My advice when you upgrade to nougat please use latest xperia companion and must install through software repair. This will delete your whole data so please back up before you do . Then your nougat works fine. Good luck . I love this phone because it's unique in design and sound quality.

I too have z5 premium dual and having the same issue. However what I have learned is that, this is due to the processor 810 which by default gets bit overheated. So it's more of a physical issue rather than a software problem. We have to live with it. Sad.

Hi, Thus far, the battery life is not that long lasting compares to iPhone or Samsung Edge 7. I've been using the phone for about 6 months now, the recent Nougat upgrade was a pleasant surprise with tons of value added features. It speed up some of the applications and the UI as well. But the rule of thumb, always install applications on the phone's memory not the memory card to help maintain the buttery smooth usage experience. Camera: Is decent for normal usage. Yet, there are few instances the camera apps hang and crashed. You need to reboot the device to run the apps again. Same as above, remember to maintain the photo save-location to your phone memory to enjoy the smooth photo capturing experience. By end of each week i'll just transfer all the photos and video to the memory via the Storage Settings. Heat: Is warmer above average phone but not as bad as the z4 epic failure. But there are occasionally force-to-shutdown message appear even when watching youtube or shooting video. Display: Is nice with 4k ultra HD yet not much of application can really enjoy the engine. Not event Youtube Apps unless your are running Youtube from a browser based version. Other than that, is a just a marketing gimmick and white elephant thingy. Verdict: The phone is averagely heavier compare to Samsung's phone and iPhone with the similar display size and battery life is a big drawback .

My advice to you is to wait.. There's an issue with the wifi and Bluetooth.. You can check it out on the net you'll find that all around the world are facing the same issue. I am having the same problem too sice I updated to Nougat. However Google is supposed to be working on it and will release an update to solve it as soon as possible.

The Phone was perfect since first day purchase till lately just my warranty over 1 week from the purchase date that found out the phone Earphone jack is faulty. Call Services centre keep on asking to Software repair and then insist that no problem in the phone Jack issue. Example : If use 3rd part software (SoundAbout) the earphone Jack function with sound but remove the software , plug in earphone no sound. So software repair or Reset Factory also the same issue. Either problem with the Smart Connection or there are bug issue. Sony until now keep ignore the problem. Would hope SONY don't because of this issue spoil your Brand Name "SONY". Recall for FREE replace or get solution on this BUG. Please reconsider my suggestion.

Hi Goraany...actually the back color is not glass just as have heard and read from many before got my hands on the phone. The back is actually very shiny gloss like. high quality finishing like metal however cant tell exactly what material is that but definitely its a premium material. About the flash taking picture at night, its ok but flash alone wont give much detail in total darkness. You need at least some light for even you to see the intended object and noting appeared on the picture. However the daylight picture..unbelievable, pretty very very good picture.

Hi Nitesh thanks for wanting to know the color, I for my self initially had wanted to buy platinum color that look like chrome, however i missed that color, so i decided to go for gold...men im so happy I'm not regretting at all i quickly forgotten about what color i had in mind. So Nitesh i would highly recommend you go for GOLD. I have seen some other brands with goldish color look, but believe me this one from Sony looks very distinctive. I love and adore it so are all my friends.

Wow that's not true the finger scanner works very very well no flaws at all. Once you have scanned and registered your finger print its all done works perfectly. I have been using this feature and its amazing. the only issue with this phone is recording in 4k. It gets really hot and will quickly tell you to rest the phone so as to cool down a bit other than that this phone turns head to many people its a dream phone. Believe me Sony rocks, despite its very small market share. Many of my friend wants to switch to Sony after seeing mine. Go for it no regret at all.

After reading all the reviews, to eliminate confusion created by all those, I actually hired phone from my friend for two days and tried to review it my self and I was surprised to know that : 1. This phone has the greatest screen display till date and premium looks as its name says. 2. Camera focus is super-fast .. you just touch the screen and picture is captured, it doesn't take any time to focus (initially I though something is going wrong but it was right), though it take a while to save it. Picture quality is great in day light. Yes, in indoor low light it is not as great but more than acceptable (it is not a DSLR). Better to use manual mode for low light, but that needs some practice and knowing of photography... 3. There isn't any overheating issue, as is being said by all reviewers ... I used it two full day and did lots of things but there was no overheating warning or sudden closing of any app or game. It became only warm while recording 4K for more than 10 minutes. 4. Battery life is decent for this 5.5" 4K phone, it is more than enough for full day heavy use and if normally used 50% battery remains at 9 PM. 5. Overall great power packed phone. Don't believe any review, any opinion, just go to store and play for a while with it and you will actually come know what is it. Finally I have decided to buy it over Xperia XZ, Galaxy s7 and Iphone 6s plus (and main reason, rates have come down a bit in India for which I was waiting for last few months).

Both the Sims are active for making calls and for sending sms, you have an option to choose whichever one you prefer at the time of dialling, there is also an option where you HAVE to state your preference for sim1 or sim2 for making calls and for sending sms. However, this doesn't make the other sim go in standby. Calls are received on the sim no.on which the other person has made the call, there is no diversion/ call forwarding unless you opt to in case a sim no.is unreachable. Sim 1 has 4G,3G, etc. option, sim2 has 3G and below only, no 4G. You have to choose which sim data you want to use, both cannot work at the same time.

guys now 4 days usage and I will tell you my honest opinion first of all let's talk about my phone specs and settings brightness set to 50% adapted brightness is turned on at home no gsm only wifi outside wifi is off and lte is on android 5.1.1 I didn't upgrade to 6.0 stamina mode is on when battery reaches 45% using only 1 sim card and 128 GB sd Card on the previous settings I acheieved the following phone fully charged in 120 minutes exactly 4 hrs on screen time 1 days 19 hrs phone is on I watched viedos listened to 45 minutes of music on wirelees beats audio (Bluetooth is on) texteing and caling over FBM , WhatsApp and viber browsing internet and facebook instagaram loudspeakers are good and loud enough but the quality is not like HTC boomsound but it is okay we can say verygood not excellent the screen is fine I didn't find any heat issue only while gaming the mobile slightly warm but not too much it is normal I guess camera is very good though no comlaining and selfie camera is pretty however my lumia 950 xl was taking better low light photos and videos so do you advice me to upgrade to android 6 or not ??? I recently upgraded my phone from z2 to z5 premium.. At first it has heating issue.. But i found the root cause of it getting over heat.. After update or reset factory your phone will be on default at the first boot.. After setting the phone. Double Swipe the screen from the top going down.. You will see the quick setting.. Then at the top, click the icon with dots and pencil.. Look for auto sync and location then hold, drag and drop it to the bottom.. By default it was turn on.. You have to disable it.. Then reboot you phone.. Check for a few hours if still heating too much after auto sync and location is turned off.. Goodluck..

I am using this mobile for more than 2 months, there are few pros and cons like all the devices have. I agree on people complaining about the software. Sony has not been the best in building Android OS, but with the marshmallow update the mobile operates amazingly fast and very smooth. People say cheating with 23MP camera, partially i agree the camera is 8MP (hardware) but the camera software enhances the pixel to 23MP. Even though i bet the pictures taken with 23MP setting is the best among all android phones so far. I did comparisons with many high end devices. Also i had taken under water pics (under sea, but not so deep) can not explain in words how nice the pictures was. Also i suggest to use the add-on apps for camera, like background defocus, sweep panaroma, etc.. works great with the device for multiple camera functions. Talking about battery, after marshmallow update the battery backup is good but not great (of-course better than before). But with Stamina mode set to always on, the phone gives great battery backup up to 24hrs for a max user. Display - Sony says it has 4K display, when compared to samsung AMOLED display (samsung S7, S6, etc) this device stands nowhere, only difference is the sharpness of display is great and the X-reality settings enhances any display content to adjust color of the pics & video to add more life in viewing. Overall cannot say the display as bad, but not great when you hear the name 4K display. The best thing to talk about the phone is, with premium features this model provides dual sim and expandable memory which is not available in many other company premium devices nowadays. Overall i am satisfied with the device for the performance, camera, storage & dual sim. If people needs these 4 features for a high end model, i suggest to buy this device else don't buy.

Z2 was my first SONY phone and I really got disappointed with it in relation to overheating while taking video. In tropical situations, you can assume you have no function for the video because it shuts off after a minute when air temperature is high. This is very dissappointing given that I had a Samsung S2 which was launched in 2010 or 2011 that was wonderful in quality video taking yet Sony Z2 came in 2014 or so. I will try Z5 for the last time for a Sony phone since I believe Sony products are generally of high quality! Consumer reviewers indicated that even the video overheating problem was no corrected in Sony Z3! Unbelievable!

Experia Z2 which I own is over heating and camera will shut down after 3-4 shots. Poor design to dissipate heat. Metallic back side cover required to heat dissipation. But sony made plastic back cover where heat does not release from processor and camera over heats. Not sure how it designed in Z5.

I have problems with the finger print sensors n Xperia Z5 premium. It does not register finger print. On YouTube It was suggested that the phone should be connected to Sony pc suite and get the phone repaired by reinstalling the software. Tried the same, still does not work. You can change it in the Keyboard settings to get the numbers up in a different row on Sony...same like Samsung.... and moving to Z5 from Samsung was the best decision I ever made....even though I was sceptical at first.....the only thing I don't like is the heating issue...but it's in all metal body devices and if you don't want to compromise on the looks, guess you have to live with it..... Very good camera....decent battery backup for it's display quality....excellent sound......and I needed the dual sim slot to not be the same as memory card slot which seems to be the general trend going on right now....

Why do you just mention the features that Samsung excells in comparison with Z series? Why don't you mention to display resolution, camera, ... where Sony Excells compared to Samsung? I've seen many videos on Youtube showing Z5P (The best Sony smartphone) tops Note5 (The best Samsung smartphone) in performing the same games (GTA for instance) as well as performing softwares, and needless to say that Z5p's RAM has much better performance than Note5 despite the first enjoys a 3G RAM and the latter a 4G RAM.

Although I'm Sony fan and never heard anyone complaining about Sony Xperia Z series but I would like to share my recent experience with Sony. I Switched from Samsung S5 to Xperia Z5 Premium Dual on the 7th of Feb, I have to admit that Samsung interface to Android OS is "REALLY" user friendly, specially with the following : 1. Speed dial on Samsung is great, Sony lacks Speed dial, only favorite list is generated from your last made calls. 2. On Samsung keyboard the numbers are at separate row than the letter which is very convenient, when typing. With Sony, you need to download keyboard app with such feature. 3. Samsung keyboard provided wide range of languages, even some are accessible on their website while Sony lacks Chinese Keyboard, which mean that you need to download an app to have the Chinese Keyboard and furthermore you will need to keep switching between keyboards which I personally found it hectic. 4. Arabic language Keyboard on Sony has different letters arrangement than the usual computer keyboard which confused me while typing Arabic words. On the other hand the Z5 got died in two weeks of usage due to defected Main Board (PBA) without any misuse. Sony does not support International warranty as Apple does, which is a nightmare specially when you need to deal with their Local and Overseas Service Centers as they don't credit each other reports and you will be charged for the repairs. Any how Sony announced that there is no more Z series, but X series.

Sony only wins the hardware competition, but with the software, multi tasking, web browsing, i find the interface stuttering most of time and the phone gets hot when playing heavy games. I'm using the Z5 Premium Dual and so far the software experience in not so good. I was using the LG G4 prior to using Z5p and G4 is definitely way snappier and more fuild than the Z5p. I never thought that the Z5, which is using a faster and newer 810 chip, over the G4's 808, would give a difficult user experience. This just clearly shows how poor Sony's software development and hardware integration are compare to other brand's. I just hope that the marshmallow update will remove all these bugs and slacks.

I got Z5 Premium Dual Silver last 24Dec15, one of my friend having the same unit and he show to me the 4K video, we compare and my unit is working with pixels. just for 9days. it's getting hot and the 4K video is like a Pixel movies, I return back to Jarir bookstore and they said 7days period is over. It is now in Sony service center in Khobar and they will repair, unluckily they will not replace, because the 7days period is over. but still i'm hoping they will replace. This is expensive unit and I save money to have new unit for Z5 only not for premium, but salesman knows how to sales. I can't recommend this unit you.

In real life usage, okay there are some little issues about the quite fast draining of the battery, etc, due to the amazing pioneer 4K display, but innovation have to evolve, so generally speaking it's acceptable. So Sony definitely have to stick on this pathway, really well done and absolutely keep it up! Excellent job. Because holistically speaking, the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium is the most complete flagship of 2015, and so it is really the role model to follow for all the other brands!!! Strange issue...well I'm not sure can this solve your problem but it is worth a try before going further so: Try going into the settings and adjust time when display will go to sleep so that maybe will prevent screen from turning off and locking your phone: Settings/ Display / Sleep / chose time 1min,2min,5min etc. Also try turning off ''automatic lock'' by choosing only ''swipe'' or ''none'' for screen lock in security setting. if above doesn't help backup your important data and files and do factory reset of your phone. Again 810 used, hard luck, Z3+ onwards has been shadowed by heating issues. Within one month Z4 to Z5 with tubes for cooling released. That's to late or to early announced when 820 be released.. Thats the speciality of sony, they having low ram as 3gb compared with 4gb for other brand or even higher... Sony engineer know how to utilize the software to put it in minimum ram usage with higher performance... My z2 on standby mode using less than 500mb ram unlike samsung using more than 1gb and both having the same apps running behind android... If you have big ram phone yet they did not managed it well, having high ram means battery drainer... No other phone dares 2 days battery life on general usage... Only sony does
