Vodafone Smart first 6 - User Reviews

  • how do you get the code too change over too a new service from vodafone

  • bro u have vodafone smart first 6 stock firmware

  • It's Android version 4.4.2 (KitKat) which is very old

  • does anyone know what to do to open a mms on this phone?

  • I got this phone 2 years ago and it was completely crap .It was lagging from the first day, it doesn't have a flash so I switched to huawei p8 lite which is a much much much better option

  • I do have a Vodafone smart first 6 I know the camera is not the best but would like to know how to transfer the photos from the phone to my computer

  • Don't buy it coz it's crap, you would be wasting ur money. It gets worse as the months go. It's quite a problem.:-@

  • What did you expect from a phone that only cost £30? You make no sense.

  • Crap, avoid if possible. I was originally looking for a specific cheap smart phone which my friend had purchased at Asda. Hers was cheap and cheerful at £40 , and worked remarkably well. Unfortunately, that particular phone had sold out, so I decided to spend that £40 on this instead. Big mistake. Was glitchy from the get go, including on basic call/text functions. Most incoming calls cause the screen to freeze, by the time it unfreezes, I've missed the call. Camera is crap. Keyboard is crap (and has these weird, inefficient glitches). Memory is crap. Touch screen can be crap. Speed is crap. And battery is most definitely crap. If I knew all of this, I would not have wasted my money..which could have gone towards a better phone, or on the cheap and cheerful alternative I originally set out to purchase. Add that onto the fact that the Voda pay and ho network is also a pile of crap, and here we have the most recent and persistent bane of my life. Never buying Voda hardware again, and never opting into the network again either. Why are they even in business? Leave it to the pros, yo.

  • That has nothing to do with the phone itself

  • thanks, very helpful

  • when you are in the menu of contacts or in one particular you press that "button" at the bottom right (the square ) and it gives you the options ( deleting, sharing, editing and printing)

  • Can't find how to edit or delete contacts!!?!?? Very annoying. Is it possible that it is not possible??

  • Won't turn on or charge

  • How to unlock phone pin password I forgot the password

  • I bought an 8 gig memory card to boost the phone storage capacity. The card currently has 5 gig available but whenever I want to download apps the device storage is full. I made the SD card the default write disc. How do I solve this problem.

  • I bought an 8 gig mwmie

  • When i try to install some app it keeps prompting "your device isn't compatible with this version" why?????

  • The phone does not have a flash.

  • Cant figure out how to turn the FLASH "ON" ??? The instruction pamphlet is hopelessly very short on any info about the phone. Anyone know how to turn Flash ON ???

  • Yes it maybe cheap but it is still very good so shut up

  • This phone is Vodafone sim locked.

  • Brillant!!!😀😀&#128512;🎉🎉

  • Press the bottom right square button while in the contact

  • Is this phone sim locked? I asked the shop keeper who didn't clarify !! I've come to EU .. will it accept a local sim? I need it for a week only

  • Do not buy this phone. It has put me off all Vodafone units for life. I don't care how cheap they become, I will NEVER buy another Vodafone. The phone is slow & that's just talking about offline operation. The keypad works when it feels like it. When on internet & a call comes through, it takes for ever to bring up the answer button & by then the caller disconnected already. Sometimes I enter my contact list & only have 4 listings. I then have to restart the phone to access more. I cannot stress this enough : DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PIECE OF CRAP!!

  • How to edit or delete contact?

  • I agree. My Galaxy Note II died on me so I have also bought this as an emergency phone for £20 and it does a job. It will tide me over until the Note 6/7 comes out.

  • I agree. I have bought it as an emergency ph

  • this phone eat lot of airtime everytime

  • How or where do I switch on or off data

  • I bought this phone for £20 quid while mine went off to be fixed, and I've got to say, for £20 you can't go far wrong with this. It basically does all the main things any other smartphone does, albeit a bit slower and with a far inferior screen. Definitely an excellent emergency phone

  • Agree

  • Too difficult

  • Does it have as much megabytes then it would

  • Does this phone have face time or video call and how do I acces it

  • I think the smart 6 is too complicated to do menial tasks.

  • Got it for my sister (she killed her Galaxy Nexus sadly). Yes it is worse than the GN, but this phone does the job for listening music and Whatsapp, it was just 24,50 euro in a Vodafone shop, oddly enough simlock free.

  • How do i set the speed dial

  • I am a pensioner and I love this phone. It is simple to work, battery lasts for ages and the manual is much better than all the silly little books you get. Thanks Vodafone.

  • i bought my phone 3 days ago, there is a bit of lag here and there, when is much hapening at the same time, but other than that, for the price, i pay 59.90 euro, it´s well built and i have no problems at all with it. there are games that is not supose to run on the phone capabilities, and i´m impress with the performance for a budget phone. i like im enough.

  • How do I set the internet on the Smart First 6 phone please

  • How do I set the internet on the Smart First 6 phone please

  • How do you remove or even move the Google search widget on the home screen? How do you multitask or show all running apps?

  • Thank you perfect instructions deleted all

  • The installed bluetooth isn't Bluetooth Smart apparently, it's not compatible with a piece of scanning software, despite being listed as 4.1. The Android version is compatible (why I bought it).

  • Hi Barracuda, To delete a contact from your phone's Contacts list do the following: 1) Open the Contacts app 2) Scroll to the entry that you want to delete 3) Select the person's name, not their picture/icon. This will bring up a panel showing all of that person's details (phone numbers, eMail, street address etc.). 4) Select the phone's Menu button. IMPORTANT: This is the right-most button of the three printed buttons at the bottom of the phone, and which looks like an empty square. Selecting this button will cause a pop-up menu to appear. 5) Select Delete from the pop-up menu. You will then be asked to confirm that this entry should be deleted. I hope that this helps. Downunder Dave.

  • Hi Angry User, I suspect that if you are not getting more than 2-hours running time from a 100% charged phone, the battery may be faulty and you should return the unit to whoever you purchased it from. If after charging for a few hours and not doing anything with the phone, just letting it charge, the phone does not show 100% in the top right hand corner of the screen, there is either a problem with the battery or the wall socket supplying the power. Try charging the phone on someone else's cable and wall socket and see if that makes a difference. I reckon that the Smart First 6 is a pretty good, entry level phone for its price. As for whether it is user-friendly or not, a lot of that is down to the Android operating system. If this is your first Android device it may take a few days to get used to. Try and find someone else with an Android phone and look for help there, that is what I did. I hope that this helps. Downunder Dave.

  • Colette, You can download the English version of the manual for this phone (Vodafone Smart first 6) as a .pdf from: or In the past when these manuals have been distributed with the boxed phone they have been so small that they are hardly readable without a magnifying glass, so the .pdf ends up as a better option. I hope that this might help you recover your phone from the Christmas dustbin....... Good luck, Dave.

  • this battery doesn't last for more than 2 hours and its not a user friendly fone, its crap really

  • No Manual for a first time Smart phone... how ridiculous.... and battery life is CRAP. This Vodafone will be in the bin after Christmas.....

  • If you need help with android stuff go to XDA developers. Im suprised you need help since it is really the most basic smartphone out there (there are 3 buttons "hmm how to turn on"), but XDA developers and just some google searching will help a lot

  • Can someone please tell me how to delete contacts and why is it so hard to save number under the right contact name I am so over it

  • not user friendly and no manual?????

  • If you can't work out how to turn the phone on without a manual, maybe you shouldn't be using a phone :|

  • Where to start? It's so basic that Vodafone seems to think you don't need instruction manual - how do you open, fix problems? Lots of problems working out how to do anything. Lousy camera and when texting you often have to hit screen "send" 4 -5 times before phone registers to send text. .

  • There is a problem with touch screen. Pinch to zoom is quite painful with one hand, when crossing axis issue appear. It is slightly better with both hands for no apparent reason, but screen also doesn't react to stylus well so drawing in it is almost impossible and also typing is difficult since most of the time it register tap next to the finger. Otherwise it's a fine phone for the money when you just want to use it for simple things like v communication and internet. Screen is surprisingly sharp and system itself seems quite fluid even though opening apps and multitasking lags for most of the apps (especially Skype). Apps can be installed on SD card and almost all apps from store can be installed but not all of them works. Games are payable even GTA San Andreas

  • I bought this for my mum, she just needed a basic phone. Without an instruction booklet we can't even switch it on let alone find out how to open it to put the battery in. Why do they not issue instruction booklets? This is a very basic thing to miss out!

  • Hi , How do you open case to start, is there a user manual. Thanks, [email protected]

  • I purchased this phone until I can upgrade my lost contract phone (moto g ) I can say the performance is not as crisp as Moto G but for effectively £25.00 It is a remarkable phone for the money.

  • how do i get a user manual

  • Bought today for £30 as a spare as my phone was being repaired. Cannot complain for the price, speaker a little quiet when talking but if it cost £100+ would be a problem. Little slow but nothing major, camera pretty good, all the apps work well enough. Great little phone, good for a starter on smart phones or as a cheap and cheerful spare

  • No instruction booklet - how do you add a contact number? also how do you connect to internet?

  • There is only an instruction booklet for the most basic points. Easy to use! So far it's been great!

  • would anyone recommend this phone for basic use lik phone calls and texting

  • yes!!!! no instruction booklet

  • never buy it #poor service

  • only had Smart first 6, a few days with NO instruction book, you are BLIND trying to make connections to the phone and general operation of the phone.

  • is the phone really that bad how much was it

  • I have had Vodafone smart 6 since July it is the worse phone I have ever had, I can be in the middle of a conversation and it switches itself off. The camera takes terrible pictures and there is no flash, I regret buying it and would never recommend it

  • How to delete person from what's app

  • well might have all the mod coms but no good with no instructions to how to use it ive just found this web site on the net and hopefully it can help cause the shop didnt want to and why get rid of the basic phone if thats all you need is a push button

  • I found the key board difficult to operate press "e" and "w" comes up . When i connected the USB Cable to my P.C instead of transferring data from my phone to my P.C it worked in the opposite direction and transferred data from my P.C to my phone over 3000 pieces of data I had also had to buy air time which would last just one month ,normally that would last me a year The purpose for the phone was to take photo's so I could send data to my P.C I regret buying it I have another phone(not "smart" which I use for text messages etc If anyone can help me with regards to sending data to my P.C I would welcome it

  • Good cheap locked first phone (NZ$50) which can be unlocked free after 9 months or NZ$30 immediately. Camera no front facing for selfies or for Skype video talk however there are work arounds to cope, has excellent camera 3M Pixel supplied by Vodafone New Zealand, not 2 MP as per official specification. Has setting for HDR which gives excellent pictures. Best has lots of installed apps.

  • in Spain it's unlocked

  • It is not.

  • Is it locked to Vodafone or is ot unlocked

  • awesome ! the best phone ever

  • I doubt this is better than the smart 4 turbo
