Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro - User Reviews

  • The Note 8 Pro is truly a wonderful set. But call recording is not an option in Pakistan. Is there a solution?

  • Excellent .. but not call recordings in Pakistani verient . Can anybody help me.

  • i'm a heavy gamer my rn8 pro are smooth no issue at all for now..still miui 10 no update in my region

  • It supports HDR which no other phone supports in this price, and HD videos looks crystal clear and crisp and very sharp

  • Maizener, thanks for sharing your opinion.. do share your experience after updating miui 11.

  • To all the Respected & Honorable users of Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro. This question is for people who have updated their phone to MIUI 11. • How is MIUI 11 on this phone compared to MIUI 10 in your opinion. • What is the status of Android 10 for this device..when will it be receiving the major update. Thank you for responding to the query.

  • here is some of what i found after a week of usage: the phone is fast, i had no lags, i'm not a gamer so i didn't try that aspect, cameras are nice, specially the main and the selfie cameras, the ultra wide is handy but not for bragging photos, the micro camera is not that good. any way i found some issues that i hope to be solved within updates, such as the proximity sensor that some times gives a false signal that the screen is covered, i noticed that there are some notifications in the shed that disappears when you take it down, of course all issues are fixed when you reboot the phone, but it appear again after a day or tow. i'm updating the phone while writing this post to MIUI 11, i hope that will solve the problems and not start other problems...

  • I just received MIUI 11 but it is based on the Android 9.0/pie so I was wandering Will it get Android 10 update?

  • Shoots 4K video, not 2K! Please update!

  • My phone updating to Miui 11 now. Am in UK

  • What is the issue with the screen when watching movies? They look great to me. Of course they will not be playing in hd on nerflix, but if you watch in hd or uhd video on YouTube it looks great. Perhaps I am missing something? Ian

  • I changed my phone from Xiaomi Mi 5 (sd 820) to this phone Redmi note 8 pro and you can feel that it is as good as the previous processor (sometimes better).

  • Hi, someone pls check if the vibration works when the call is connected and disconnected. Not working even after setting this to normal vibration mode. Pls suggest if there is a way out for this one

  • Is the G90t good if I'm upgrading from an sd820 phone?

  • From 10 days am using 8 pro.... • love the battery • has good decent camera • but if you like to watch movies then display is not satisfactory while movies... i was quite dissapointed while watching movies... :( • playing pubG in medium graphics – no lags, smooth, heating is under control PHONE for GAMES not for MOVIES….

  • Indeed, MIUI 11 rolling out in the Netherlands as well today. So far, runs butter smooth. Will see how it keeps up in the coming days. If it is anything like my Mi Max 2, MIUI 11 is a nice stable upgrade.

  • just received notification for MIUI 11 in Bulgaria - V11.0.1.0.PGGEUXM - Stable 601MB with October 2019 Security Patch

  • What Is The Drain In Battery After Playing Pubg For 3-4hrs?Tell With Your Own Exp.

  • Well, the MTK is good enough, no complaint so far. Even SD730 is there, I don't really care since I owned the MTK, my next phone should be featuring stable 5G thats supported by my country.

  • I dont know why youre saying it officially when it was always said a rumor, sorry but that is already refuted already by Xiaomi marketing chief of India

  • when?

  • NOT the phone's problem. IF you exceed the max resolution or does not follow the aspect ratio as suggested by that particular social media app, your uploaded picture will be compressed to satisfy their requirements.

  • You are not right. Even if it's the rumor, then let it be. Don't seek attention. Simple is that. Topic is over...!!!

  • Change settings of facebook picture upload quality.

  • Where do you find/see that from. why is it switching from a MTK to a SD chipset

  • I am facing problem with pics while uploading as status. High quality pics getting and old pics getting blur while put as status.

  • I mean new redmi note 8 pro is officially coming out with Snapdragon 730G. With same hardware configuration only switched mediatek to Snapdragon. Launching along with redmi k30.

  • 1) What is the latest Android version can this phone get? I never had a Xiaomi or Mediatek phone. I think currently android 9 is the highest version but we are expecting 10. It runs MIUI on top and phones are gradually upgrading to version 11 but I still have 10 2) How long does the battery last only if you use Chrome, Instagram, Youtube but NOT any game? Battery is very good. Often go to bed at night with 50% left, but of course it depends on your usage. 3) Does dark colors shows your fingerprints on the back panel? (My hands are sweaty all the time. Therefore, I'm thinking to get a white one) The back of my phone does show fingerprints but I don't really care to be honest - quick wipe every now and again does the job. 4) I'm not a heavy gamer but I like this phone and also battery life is my #1 criteria. I'm kind of between this and 9 Lite. I never had an AMOLED/OLED phone. What is your experience with these displays? Don't know anything about the other phone. The note doesn't have amoled, but I like the screen. 5) My only fear is that this phone will become outdated sooner than 9 Lite. What do you think of that? I think it will do me a couple of years. 6) What is the latest MUIU version and does the battery life get any better after the upgrade? See above 7) Last but stupid one: Does this phone fit in your pocket? I never had a large phone. Fits in my pocket just fine.

  • go ahead, its PUBG ready device, i am using it and its performance is great, fps will always be 58-60, only time it drops to 48-50 is when you riding a car or bike, otherwise its always around 58-60. i got one plus 7 too but his device is awsome

  • go for the xiaomi you will be stunned and completely satisfied

  • I have realme 3 pro &5 pro & XT, redmi note 8 & 8 pro. The best is realme 5 pro for gaming and the battery life is great. Tested on game COD with normal res.

  • Well, I'm on 11.0.1 with no major issue so far. The minor is that delete keyboard delay, could be my mistake when typing. And I hope the display can be set to warm. Currently the default is too bluish even we select warm mode, unless we activate reading mode (which is too yellowish).

  • Thats would be great, but MT is good enough. No complain for MT so far.

  • The Note 8 Pro Absolutely..

  • Guys which do I buy Samsung m30s or xiaomi note 8 pro

  • Phone is great, all praise! But I have one problem. When I connect usb fles via type c otg connector the file manager does not see it at all. When I download another file manager from the play store everything is ok?

  • I got mine through eBay.

  • If the unit has dedicated microSD slot then it has no NFC and vice versa. Globally this phone has NFC except for India if I'm not mistaken.

  • Ah thanks m8, uk gang 😂, and where did u buy it from?

  • Buy iPhone 7 plus instead

  • Note 8 pro or mi 9 lite? can I have your pick guys?

  • Unlocked global version works fine with virgin mobile for me.

  • Note 8 pro or mi 9 lite...

  • Can Anyone Tell Me The Battery Drain After 4hrs Of PUBG?

  • Using this phone over 2 weeks now. Doesn't heat up as most of them say. Only downfall is the camera, not impressive 64 mp as expected. And the phone is quite big and heavy. Gives fatigue to my hands after using for gaming or watching my favorite series on Netflix.

  • Get the note 8 pro. It has a bigger battery and a powerful chip.

  • Note 8 Pro

  • Can you give me some advice, Which phone to by Xiaomi Note 8 Pro or Huawei P30 Lite? Thanks!

  • epic price

  • Best phone on its pricepoint.. smooth gaming.. and doesnt overheat like old mediatek chipsets.. photo shots are decent too.. battery is good for everyday use.. g90t is a beast..

  • It's going to receive MIUI 11 update in December.

  • I don't have heating issues either

  • Global versions have NFC

  • This phone is perfect, it has every feature a person could want except stereo front speakers! O3O

  • this phone is very good in everyday use, gaming is also not a problem.

  • would it work with a UK virgin media sim card?

  • is this phone NFC supported? One website showing supported but another site not showing any NFC Support so I am confused about it. Please clear this.

  • Bad display if you watching YouTube videos... Redmi update the YouTube video display

  • The screen is clear and crisp but the black is not that deep (compared to my previous Mi 5S plus). Still acceptable. No screen bleeding on my unit. Cameras are more than enough. No heat issues so far, alas somebody reporting heats for social media and youtube, but not in my case.

  • Poco if you don't mind the bigger notch

  • mi 9 lite, poco or this phone. which would be better??

  • Yes yes no

  • Is the screen good?, is the camera good and does it over heat??

  • "Still, we can say they are hardly noticeable and a lot less prominent than the in other competing smartphones." Why listening to a hater when gsmarena provides an honest review?

  • do they fix the cam issues? I ment the hdr prob.

  • Yes, they do take time. Also the video's on SD card don't play well.

  • You will have people (who probably don't own the phone) tell you that the screen is not good because it is not amoled or it is cheap or some other reason. I do own the phone and the screen is good. Lovely to watch media on, nice and bright and I have no complaints. Of course it is not amoled which seems to bother some people. There are phones with better displays. But all round this is an amazing phone for the money . This is the great thing about android phones - there is so much choice!

  • I do not have these issues and without sounding like a broken record - the screen is very good. Perhaps there are some bad ones out there - but mine is great.

  • there are no such issues, stop spreading fake comments

  • Hi, someone pls check if the vibration works when the call is connected and disconnected. Not working even after setting this to normal vibration mode. Pls suggest if there is a way out for this one

  • You will find light bleeding (only obvious in lower ambient light) mainly at the bottom of the screen and around the notch, sometimes in a top corner or both. Also the screen not very bright in sunlight conditions.

  • hello, does it support bands 4, 7 or 28 (used in Argentina)? thanks

  • You must be opening google photos app which doesn't work without internet.

  • This phone has gallery issue.. If photos are in memory cards sub folder it doesnt show this photos immediately

  • How is the IPS display on this device? Is it a good quality display or not?

  • QD-OLED is totally different thing. The OLED part is only used as backlight while the QD does the color filtering. It's a good tech but the way it works is totally different feom AMOLED.

  • Samsung will come out with QD-OLED displays for TVs soon.

  • good to know that in india this mob is having a dedicated slot for memory card

  • Point taken bruh. I just forgot to explain that I am giving my realme 3 pro to my brother that lost his phone. :)

  • Does any one faces.. Photo Gallery issues..? The phone doesn't so images when internet connection is not there

  • And yet you talk about IPS being bad? Xiaomi's bad displays are theirs, not the whole IPS technology. Do you get my point?

  • There's IPS badly made and quality IPS well made, Xiaomi currently uses IPS in their cheap phones and the displays need to be cheaply made, fast and without strict quality control.

  • Old thing? Haha. There's not that much about the technology that you know. As long as there's still an organic material in there, deterioration would never be even in an AMOLED display. Once it started, one can only lower the overall brightness to hide it. Even Samsung knew that so well, in fact, they don't commit on using their own AMOLED as the main display panel of their premium TVs.

  • The brun in problem is old thing fella.. Joker

  • I agree with your point. In fact, the user doesn't need to buy a new phone, his/her current phone is even still a viable one for the next years to come.

  • I would assume that you're NOT tech savvy person and just wants a phone that just works. I would also assume that you might be a person that might play a video or even use split-screen while playing the video at the top and browsing at the bottom, you might also accidentally slept while doing so. In this case, I would suggest you to buy a phone with an IPS display and NOT an AMOLED. AMOLED screens needs special care to keep the organic part to EVENLY deteriorate while IPS LCD is robust and could even take abuses that AMOLEDs won't endure on a daily basis. For the span of 3 years, an IPS would still be the same as it is in day 1 while in AMOLED, it depends solely on the user and their understanding of it.

  • AMOLED being the best doesn't mean IPS is bad. IPS is still best in its class without the burn-in problems associated with AMOLED.

  • There's no audio-recording improvements in the hardware or even software of this phone. If you have a Redmi and recording very loud sounds, don't use stock camera app, use Open Camera and set the audio recording to "unprocessed" in Open Camera's setting.

  • Poco F1 manufactured in India seems to have more problems with quality control. The Global ones (Pocophone F1) made in China were much more refined IPS panel. There's still light bleed at the bottom (because there's where the backlight is located hence the strongest light, it's an edge-lit display) which can obviously be seen on a pitch dark environment with screen set to show gray or pure black fill with brightness cranked to max. Apple devices with IPS will also show light bleed too when done with the same procedure but in normal usage but it's well-hidden with their translucent or blurred background UX design.

  • Try using a new LTE sim card. I use dual SIM in my Pocophone both are TNT. I bought new one 1 month ago (because I lost my phone but eventually found it) and I noticed that new (Smart) SIMs have better support for 4G+ in terms of signal coverage. My old one is stuck in H+.

  • This is basically a waste of money man. No offense. I am from the Philippines too and I think that wouldn't be an upgrade on your part. It's like buying the same stuff but with a slightly different feature. Aim for a larger upgrade instead.

  • The global version supports B28

  • since it doesn't support B28(700Mhz) which is the bandwidth used by most new cellsites of both Globe and Smart.

  • Go for white color, it looks great, i got the same

  • Realme 3 pro? That's almost just out, I don't think you will see any meaningful gains doing that upgrade. Hopping through a bunch of cheap phones is going to cost you more in the end.

  • HELO GUYS! I have a question regarding the white clor of redmi note 8 pro. Actually im bit confused. White is actually one clor in redmi note 8 pro but 2 difrent names for global and indian varient. I mean Globally it is called "pearl white" and in indian unit it is called "Halo white". m i right?????

  • Here in the Philippines, Realme XT costs almost $80 more than the Redmi Note 8 pro. So the estimated price difference that you presented is far from what the actual price will be once the X2 is released here in the Philippines. So as far as the pricing here in our country is concern, Redmi Note 8 pro is the best bang for buck budget smartphone. Planning to get one this Christmas to replace my realme 3 pro

  • Does the phone vibrate on call connect and disconnect? Can't find any vibration even after vibration is enabled to normal

  • Weak 4g+ signal, often on 4g only as compared to other phones. This is an awesome phone. I hope xiaomi will update it here in the Philippines for better data signal reception.

  • HD videos are really crisp and clear awesome phone, i would give 9.5 out of 10.

  • Yes really. I am more than happy with the screen on my phone and simply am not bothered that there are better screens out there. For me the phone is excellent value for money. I really don't think many people will be disappointed with the screen - I have had amoled screens before and it is no big deal.

  • It has a 2sim slot and one SD card slot is good in MI serious

  • no zooming option in 64 mp

  • Are these indian prices? Realme x2 isn't available yet in india

  • Let's see until my unit arrived. Realme XT is much more expensive than Redmi Note 8 pro in Indonesia, X2 will be miles more expensive for sure. AMOLED has burn risk which would be bad for gamers (for static navigation images).

  • Really wanna see what I am talking about on Xiaomi's IPS screens? Just watch our paid xiaomi agents below praise the poco f1 screen and tell you that amoled is way more expensive. The price difference between the AMOLED realme X2 and this is about 12-13 USD, the snapdragon 730g in the X2 is well within the performance range of the mediatek helio P90t without the disadvantages like heating and updates.

  • Does this phone have an issue also when it comes to audio quality in video recording like the other Redmi's?

  • Realme X2 is Rs 15910 while note 8 pro is Rs 14999, negligible difference, you say you can get mi 9t for How much?? 16000? Where. People will love to know for sure, thank you.

  • Completely agree. I am sure a lot of people finding things to critisise don't actually own the phone. It really is very good

  • There are people who are obsessed with amoled displays. But the LCD display on this phone is good and most people will be perfectly happy with it. The phone is excellent for the price.

  • Realme x2 and mi 9t have the same price while redmi note 8 pro is cheaper (same price as realme 5 pro)

  • Liquid Cooling means there's a semi flat heatpipe running deep inside the phone, so there's no way the heatpipe would be affected unless the phone is literally ripped in half. (I suggest watching the Teardown on Xiaomi's official YouTube channel.) In short, it won't get 'broken'.

  • It have liquid cooling technology..suppose if phone falls & the liquid inside it leaks what can I do in that case?? Will phone be damaged

  • Utter nonsense. The phone is big because that's the way the market is going. The display is extremely good. Lcd is not as good as amoled but there are very good Lcd panels. Look at the popularity of the pocophone f1 with a very good Lcd ips panel. You pay way more for amoled and it is really not that big of a difference. This phone is about 200 euros, has a very powerful chipset, competing strongly in tests against the Snapdragon 845 of last year. It has a huge display with very small bezels and a very small notch. It's got a massive battery. It has a really eye catching design, nfc, fast charging so you can bag it all you want but there's going to be many takers.

  • Can I upgrade q

  • Yes man but realme x2 competes in price very well with the note 8 pro, if mi 9t were the same price as note 8 pro it would put it out of the market in seconds. Realme is really pushing, Xiaomi is surely starting to feel the pressure real hard from this guys right now.

  • A decent modern amoled phone will have settings to tone down the screen, did you tried that? In fact pixel phones got criticized for coming out with a natural looking amoled, had to create a settings menu for people to choose what they wanted.

  • Mi 9t is better than realme x2

  • Lol baseless rambling. continue....

  • Realme X2 seems a real contender to the note 8 pro, with the 7nm chip and the AMOLED display it will not need more battery. The note 8 pro holds some performance advantage until it starts throttling, long run tests would be nice to have to determine what's the net impact. Audio and display, even size and weight are nicer in the realme x2. If you are not a hard core gamer I wouldn't touch the note 8 pro just because of the bad display and the X2 snapdragon assurance of continued updates, the mediatek SOC can't guarantee.

  • The rear cameras are pretty bad except for stills from the main one preferably in good lightning, even from this camera video is unremarkable to many. The display is pretty bad with uneven backlighting issues around the notch and at the bottom. If you are not going to need the fast but heating processing you can do better with other phones, either below, at or above the price of this one, as I have stated before this phone is an option for heavy gamers on the cheaps but not for other users.

  • If you don't have a dime more than the Rs 15000 to spend and want something right about now and are a *heavy* gamer you can buy this based on a two year life expectancy. It is unclear the long term support for this device and all that will contain the p90t, if it sales in big numbers AND most importantly if it's heating tendencies can be fully controlled with updates. There is a very disturbing video where this device is set to record 4K video in a case, it enters overheating protect mode in about 3 minutes disabling the led, the camera and the GPS, same test is done to the Mi 9T and nothing happens to it and much less battery percentage was lost against the note 8 pro. So there you go, think about what you are going to do, life is all about smart decisions.

  • install poco louncer.

  • I want to buy note8pro for gaming.should i buy?i want to use this at least 2-3years

  • Which is better realme x2 or redmi note 8pro for gaming?i want to buy a phone for gaming.

  • I wonder what those 'plenty of better options' are? Since this phone beats all other contenders in gaming, there's only 2 areas where it could fail 1. Camera 2. Display The camera on this phone is really good given the price it comes in at. I think it is up there on top 3 atleast. According to me, the display is not as bad as some are suggesting it to be.

  • I noticed the same. Videos aren't clear at all. I use a Mi max 2 and even with a 360 resolution the videos look decent and clear but on Redmi note 8 pro, even at 720 they lose sharpness and clarity. And if you have to use 1080 for clarity then you'll have to sacrifice a lot of data.

  • i have switched from amoled to IPS, and i would prefer IPS over Amoled any day as it got accurate colors

  • No its not.

  • If you are not a gamer, pick another phone, this is too heavy, too big, bad display, ads, moderate heating and slow updates due to mediatek. For long term use it's better something lighter, smaller, colder, amoled display so you can see the vids with beautiful deep blacks instead of light bleeding, clouding, dirty screen effect, bad blacks and other nags of IPS displays.

  • can any one tell me how to enable double tap to sleep ??? it does have double tap on wake up but cant find double tap on sleep option

  • This phone is made for gamers, those who don't mind 42 deg warming in their hands, big and heavy phone, there are plenty of better options in the price range for non mainly gamer type of users.

  • It's IP52 so maybe a little light rain for a few minutes and you can feel lucky.

  • Does anyone have problems with the sound during the calls? It goes up and down in volume sometimes and when its "normal" it sound like from the barrel ,too wide, even when I put down the volume people around me can hear other caller just like me:( This is my 3rd Xiaomi phone,so I know its not something tipical for this brand. Battery is great, easy day and half with lots of calls,4g and maps. I don't like that led light for notifications is almost invisible, almost like it doesn't exist (you can't see it from 2m range🤔)

  • i got it today, PUBG is smoooooth, it does not over heat, my asus max pro m1 had similar temperature as this phone does

  • Realme xt is better for multimedia and social media because of the super amoled display. Images looks crisp. Also realme xt is not bad for gaming per se. Just that redmi note 8 pro does it better.

  • Users, please check the YouTube video clarity at different playback settings and share your views.

  • Which one will be better for long time usage, because i do not want to change my phone within 2 to 3 years.. suggest me between Redmi note 8 pro and Realme xt.. I love to watch Videos, using social media apps and least gaming...Thanks.

  • Guys can we use this underwater..like when scuba diving ?? somebody please test this and let me know..thank you

  • No it is fine

  • Does Redmi Note 8 Pro support Bluetooth format: LDAC?

  • No it doesn't according to my understanding

  • I think it looks fine to me. But if you are coming from smaller screen then this could be the reason as larger screen will display more blur because it is higher in resolution and the images are bigger. However not all videos on youtube are of same quality some are natively bad in quality so even if you crank upto 1080p the resolution will not be clear. Try watching some good quality videos like music videos.

  • YouTube on redmi note 8 pro is blurry, even 480p is like 240p only I wonder if there is anyone facing the same problem and is there is any way to fix it?

  • Does redmi note 8 pro heat in regular use like streaming. Youtubeing. Browsing?

  • Just change the resolution to 16MPx

  • Battery life is on point for a full working day. Camera is more than enough under daylight n decent for night too. They're quite usable. This will only improve with further updates

  • lolzzz. thanks for your respnse

  • thank you very much. i really appreciate this.

  • Mi 9 lite

  • Mi 9 lite has the better screen, if that's important to you, you have a winner. Redmi note 8 pro screen is unremarkable and the processor heats up quite a bit and since it's mediatek you won't get updates so frequently. Since gaming is not your main thing I think either phone will do speed wise, just pick at least the 128 gb version of whatever you choose to don't run out of space. Definitely Mi 9 lite would be my pick in your circumstances between those two, mediatek is already working on 7nm processors, so next gen processors from them will run cooler no doubt.

  • Hi I want buy a phone which on of "note 8 pro" or "mi 9 lite" is better whit my condition? 1. I want it for at least 4 years and stay fast after 3 or 4 years. 2. Quality of screen is important for me. 3. I dont play many game but i instal many app. 4. Diffrent of camera not matter for me becase boat of them is good. 5. Battery is not matter for me becase they both are almost the same. 6. Fingerprint not matter for me. thanks

  • Can you comment on battery life and camera pic quality and night photos

  • hello guys community.i am using redmi note 8 pro globel variant since cpl of weeks.today while turning on to mobile data this error occurs ( AUTHENTICATION FAILURE -29- ) and mobile data does not activate at all. i am simply unable to use it.if any one of u having same issue likewise.plz help me to sort it out.

  • Lol upgrade is not dependable on processor. If it did every android phone will be running on Snapdragon. This phone will get android 10 for sure and likely to get android 11 as well.

  • Hii Efe, Your uncertainty is justifiable. But let me tell you Redmi Note 8 Pro will receive Android 10 update with Miui 11 Update for sure. Regarding long-term reliability this processor can be trusted in the update department. Some old Snapdragons chips were bad in past, they developed much better. But this dosen't mean that any other company (mediatek) ain't any efficient/good. Mediatek with Redmi can be trusted. Even in my old phone (Lenovo) with Snapdragon in it didn't received any update after lollipop. So it depend's upon the company and i can say redmi is trustable.

  • Pls is it possible that this phone receives upgrades like note 6 pro and note 7 pro. Since it's using MTK. I learnt MTK don't get updates like Snapdragon

  • It's in the Philippines bro..

  • I bought this Phone and It is perfect for the money. The heating in the high graphic games is as usual as other phones. The games are smooth. Speed and Battery life is nice. And It does support OTG, physical and bluetooth mouse and keyboard.

  • Can this phone be upgraded since it's using MTK

  • Will this phone receive updates to new OS like miui 11 based on Android 10 since it's MTK chip. I learnt SD usually gets upgraded. Pls class Someone should someone should clarify

  • only one band ca posible, not different bands ( 7+7 etc.)

  • Because it can do everything the note does

  • They might have used note to differentiate from the smaller Redmi 8, after all samsung notes traditionally have been the larger ones, after all you don't want to call it Redmi Big 8 right?

  • Very nice phone but a problem and that is hitting

  • Why is this called Note if it does not seem to have a pen!?

  • Stop trolling. I've already answered your question below

  • Definitely, even with extended screen on time.

  • heating while gaming

  • Didnt they have a SD 665 in the slide? And it wasnt the pro but the T version.

  • How does this phone perform on high graphics games e. g. PES 20 and PUBG.... and does it have a LED indicator as in 7 and 7 pro..?

  • Always been a fan of Redmi series. Note 8 pro was more than imagined, smoothness, speed, power, sound and camera and the genuine looks. All in one for a decent money.

  • Please let me know how's the battery. Does it last for more than a day?

  • Note 8 pro

  • Does it support carruer aggregation? 4g+ lte+

  • Note 8 pro

  • Don worries redmi note 8 pro come with a liquid colling systems

  • If you play Pubg in HDR Ultra then only the phone heats otherwise no issue it just gets warm in all other high graphics settings.

  • Note 8 pro

  • note 8 pro

  • Thanks friend, I decided that I'd just buy the M30s. The Note 8 Pro here in Indonesia is a bit hard to get, and I wanted to try out Samsung, since I've never used a Samsung phone before.

  • Just want to point out that I have a UK purchased global version and have not received a single advert after a week of use. I don't care that it doesn't have amoled Screen - the LCD is plenty good enough for me. Really like the phone. Ian

  • note 8 pro

  • Note 8 pro

  • LED light yes. Ping playable at her graphics

  • It contains the Qualcomm SMB1351 chip so yes it should support QC3.0 you may want to read about actual tests though. Said that all quick chargers reduce the lifespan of batteries, great news for manufacturers but I would use fast charging only when needed rather than in an every day basis, just takes charging it at night.

  • Note 8 pro gets mixed reviews on camera some like better the previous gen cameras than this one, photos are dimmer with less contrast than the A50s, both phones lack OIS and have questionable quality optics as midrange phones. If you want a flagship level camera check out the pixel 3a, it's maybe $300 or less right now if you search well, pixel 3a arguably outperforms a note 10 camera and a pixel 2 camera as well.

  • Those it have optical zoom?

  • Yes it does have a heating issue but moderate, about 42 C max. Need to be updated to latest firmware.

  • It performs well in all games, the notification light exist but needs to be enabled in settings.

  • How does this phone perform on high graphics games e. g. PES 20 and PUBG.... and does it have a LED indicator as in 7 and 7 pro..?

  • does it has a heat issue?

  • I know it comes with 18W charger in the box, but just don't know if can use for QC3.0. GSMArena Youtube video review does say it support QC3.0, but in website review, they just mention it support USB-PD, so don't know if really can support QC3.0 I'm asking this because all my charger, including car charger, powerbank are QC3.0, which is USB A to USB C.

  • How to see call details on redmi note 8 pro?? I dont know how to see call duration, calling times that i made to anyone of my contact

  • you might need to change the settings from your Facebook if that's the case You can choose to always upload photos in HD from your account settings: Tap at the bottom of the screen. Scroll down and tap Settings & Privacy, then tap Settings. Scroll down to Media and Contacts, then tap Videos and Photos. Tap next to Upload HD. You may always look unto the settings of the photos quality and set to to HD. Hope that helps. All the best! :)

  • please better Camera A50s or Note 8 pro ?

  • hello, that is for game booster software. just sipe left / right then the apps will be popped up

  • Please take note that capturing photos using the 64mp sensor will definitely increase the file size dramatically. (check the file size of the image to confirm). Most social media apps have a fixed maximum size per image. Uploading them online will automatically reduce the quality in order to fit them in the accepted file size.

  • Because the default quality in FB is low when you upload videos or photos. You need to turn on HD so you can get the best quality in settings in FB.

  • Thanks for your recommendation 🙏

  • Thanks 🙏. I think I'm gonna buy my first xiaomi smartphone.

  • Thanks🙏

  • Thank you🙏

  • Sure... Here is a link though for those looking to control the ads as best as possible:

  • is this phone will be upgrade to andriod 10? thanks

  • @Xiaomi User, you have answered your question yourself: Facebook, etc. compress the picture quality. If you see the picture on your phone with better quality, then it is definitely Facebook. Uploading picture on websites in general is a lossy method.

  • I've been using Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro for weeks now but I just want to ask regarding the camera, the camera is good but when I uploaded it to FB/Social media account the quality of pictures changed, doesn't look good at all especially using the 64MP. How can I fix this?

  • You can't get colour accuracy on a smartphone to be honest. You need a studio monitor for that, plus you're not going to edit stuff for professional use on a phone or are you? For the most part yes. Amoled displays are more vibrant because they have larger colour gamut but since you're talking about colour accuracy, amoled display aren't colour accurate as well. Matter of fact, LCDs have better colour accuracy than amoled. Just saying.

  • What country band is that? For indian band it's working fine

  • Exactly, spend more get more.

  • You'd be surprised to know there's no ads. Just a reninder since many people who haven't used Xiaomi phones seems to have misconception about ads on Xiaomi phones. If you notice samsung midrange phones also have ads through notifications.

  • I have white line on my upper right corner near signal to battery icon when ever i play games. As in all of my downloaded games it appears always. But if i watch YouTube or Netflix or even social medias it will not appear at all. My phone is just 3 days old and i don't know if its a hardware problem or software. I guess ill bring it back to where i bought this and ask for exchange or refund if they will..

  • Well that sks, anyone else having that issue?

  • Got SD card slot but that's better for pics and stuff, it may slow you down if used for apps, if you plan to own the device for more than two years id say go with the 128for sure.

  • I don't buy that, all Xiaomi MIUI cheap phones will storm you with ads, you need to keep opting out from the initial setup to every other single app, to reduce them. It's pretty annoying and an everlasting reminder that you shouldn't be that cheap with phones and in life lol.

  • Should I get the 6+64 or the 6+128 version? I do a lot of mobile gaming (mostly pubg and CODm), photography and some social media apps.

  • You may have a problem with your device, this phone does heat up to about 42 celsius in most cases. It's pretty annoying but no worse for now. I would recommend you to hard reset and wipe out the device and load and test one app at a time, if you can't determine if some app is triggering the heat you may want to have it checked, if you continue using it at that heat level it will surely get damaged over time. Also don't game while charging and try using it without a case.

  • Happily Xiaomi does amoled and for the most part does them fine. No need to put up with their IPS stuff. You can get inexpensive phones with amoled screens from other manufacturers as well.

  • Thanks for the review. With this price range and performance offered I can imagine that the display not on top tiers. Vibrant will lose to Amoled by much, not that sharp enough and the worst thing is the blackness. Regarding the color accuracy, there might be a calibration setting. I might still buy this phone on Tomorrow and if the display bad enough I will give it to my cousin. Hope the HDR there with some reason.

  • can somebody confirm if this phone supports lte band 28(700MHz)?some article regarding redmi note 8 pro's SoC including official Mi website says it does. Thank you for those who will answer this question..

  • Been using Note 8 Pro for weeks now. Gaming top tier. Camera better than most. Color display, loses to AMOLED a lot. Sharpness issue in videoplaybacks. Battery lasts 12 hours gaming straight(p.s. unhealthy for body and phone). For phone photographers, Colors in pictures and sharpness of videos may be inaccurate when displayed in the phone but, when screen casted or transfered to better monitors or displays. Issue may be fixed. Plus, that 64 megapixel camera is quite useful. For gamers like myself, Can play Pubg mid to high graphics at 60fps. No internet lags in online gameplays thanks to Mediatek SoC, can record while playing. Rivals 855 Snapdragon in my opinion. P.S. I'm not a tech wiz myself. These are merely based on my experience with the phone and opinions. I don't mean to contradict any of your standards.

  • Been using Redmi Note 8 pro for gaming 12 hours straight. No heating up to dangerous levels.

  • Adds only appear when you buy non official global version What happen is the vendor tempered with the system to show adds, originally there is no add Show you mistakenly buy the one with adds, you could flash it to the original system

  • Hi, im using Mi Phone (Mi 5) for 3 years, now im using Redmi Note 8. Both xiaomi phones works Excelent. You can disable Recommendation from default apps to stop showing ads. Try xiaomi phone and feel the different.

  • Don't buy this .while playing games and videos it is over heating.it reached maximum 48c.pls don't buy

  • Xiaomi's IPS Displays have different quality for each device. I'm sensitive to display and bad display will make me vomit. Previous Mi series have better display compared to Redmi by much.

  • Does it support otg?

  • Same here.. on the bottom right and left corner. touch delay was there.. I used two devices.. both had the same issue

  • Do u know many people fears amoled cos of burning in issue

  • Pls how do compare realme x2 pro with its 855+ SD with note 8 pro.

  • I use phones alot for gaming, are u saying the phone heat up while gaming? Or just getting warm?

  • I've had a few Xiaomi phones and I haven't had adds pop up on the home screen, but there are adds in some of their apps , ie, music app and file manager.

  • I'm using this phone for last one week. I didnt face any issues first of all. Phone is having premium looks, better build quality and great cameras. Alexa looks like a disaster. You can see a video taken and edited in Redmi note 8 pro to evaluate the camera quality.

  • 2 years of using Xiaomi, not true at all

  • You can opt of most of the ads. While setting up the phone there will be options like personalised ads and stuff like that. Just disable all of them.

  • I acknowledged the screen bleeding since its also mentioned in local forum. Usuallly this kind of issue can be fixed by software update.

  • Idk but recently I've not seen any ads atleast on latest global version. Maybe they've removed the ads or because I've turned off ads in app settings by turning off the 'recommendation' options on each app.

  • Idk what version of fast charge it supports but it comes with an 18w charger. Charges from 20% to 100% in under 2 hours.

  • Hi. I haven't used xiaomi devices so far, but I'm going to buy one soon. I am a little doubtful. People say that there are adds that appear on the screen whether you like or not. Please xiaomi users let me know if it is true or not. Thanks

  • Curious asking, this phone support QC4.0 and USB-PD? So will also compatible to Qualcomm QC3.0? Despite the chipset is Mediatek.

  • Also m30s is just a pinch smaller than note 8 Pro which isn't noticeable. Which makes m30s equally 'big'(in your words) as note 8 pro. The display here is not the same one used for poco f1. Personally I haven't used f1 in person but it is understandable for the price it came in at. Price to performance ratio was top notch. It's come to my understanding that you're a fan of amoled displays but keep in mind that apple is shelling out iphone with lcd displays for 700$ but people are going for it for the sheer performance apple chip has to offer. And you're talking k20 pro but you forgot the price difference. Spend more n get better simple.

  • It's not 'too big' unless you have small hands. Vivo z1 pro also has the same dimensions. And it feels manageable. It's a 19:9 aspect ratio so the length is taller while the breadth is slimmed unlike older phones with 16:9 where breadth increase with bigger display. But display is personal preferential and I won't argue on that. Personally I quite like the size given it's made for gamers.

  • No hate on xiaomi, the K20 Pro is an excellent device at a reasonable price, Factually Xiaomi's IPS screens are inferior just ask pocophone users, you see this is no secret or personal opinion of mine, but hey you say you don't care about it, that's fine with me. Many people do and should bear in mind the fact before buying. Again I recommend this phone for heavy gamers on the cheaps, but for other people I really don't, too big, too heavy, the heating, the display and the ADS everywhere can make it a pretty uncomfortable phone to use specially if you intend to keep it long term.

  • Oppo is more of a camera phone, if you like photography then it is good but for gaming note 8 pro is better. Note* cameras on note 8 pro is not bad either.

  • HD content is supported for netflix but camera 2API is not supported.

  • Lol you're just picking littlest of things just to hate on xiaomi. Accept it, it is better than your m30s which has a plastic body(which creaks when squeezed) and no corning gorilla protection and exhibits heating issue. Samsung phones notorious for heating. M30s doesn't come with liquid cooling like note 8 pro does. There's no such thing as light bleeding. And if there's any, I don't see them and if I don't see them what's there to complain. And the backlight thing you're going on about like dude, the display is HDR compatible. Do you know what HDR is? And yes lcd don't reflect deep blacks and yes amoled reproduce better contrast but that's about it for m30s. Plus I'm not using my phone on 100% brightness so at lower brightness it's completely neutral on note 8 pro.

  • There are amoled screens at this price range and below not only flagships has them, Xiaomi just don't have the best backlighting for their IPS screens, far from it.

  • This one or oppo reno 2f ..? Plz suggest truely.

  • As stated before light bleeding and other backlight issues and of course poor blacks. If these flaws are not obvious to you nice then.

  • Yes indeed but that doesn't mean you cannot game good with the M30s or other phones provided you set settings properly, screen of this is junk though. I wouldn't recommend this phone to anyone except for gamers, too heavy and big for comfortable usage.

  • Thats true but maybe untrue. I was a second hand Samsung hunter and saw hundreds and possibly thousands of it. In most of the cases are screen burn and battery issue despite the phones are in mint conditions. I did have a good experience also with samsung amoled, but screen burn is also a fact. Nevertheless, with this price range you won't be able to find a better alternative. Its better to buy this phone this time and save the money for 5G on the next 1-3 years.

  • Does an owner of this phone can test and post result after install those apk on google Play store : 1) DRM to know if L1 is supported 2) Camera2AP Probe to now if phone is legacy, .....full , L3 ... gsmarena best site ever ... thank's

  • Is this mobile 5g ??

  • Definitely redmi note 8 pro on this one. Note 8 pro has more horse power. If you notice galaxy a50 has a processor built on cortex a72 while redmi note 8 pro has a processor with newer architecture cortex a76 which has more power and it runs on gpu mali g76 compared to the mali g72 on galaxy a50 which means the processor on note 8 pro is capable to push more powerful gpu.

  • Nice phone but it has too large display which will be hard to work it in one hand

  • Which is stronger than the a50 or note 8 pro

  • And one more thing, m30s performance cannot match the one on note 8 pro even if you tweak around. M30s has a processor on the level of Snapdragon 660-675 while mtk g90 surpasses most of the mid range processors.

  • I didn't say they look the same. Read my comment again. I said they differ in contrast. The panel on note 8 pro is far from bad. It supports HDR even. I don't know what you mean when you say bad display?? Colour wise or some other factor? For a budget phone they're quite alright. And yes I prefer performance over some contrasty display any day. If I had to pick between the two.

  • Pocophone has a similar screen to most phones at its price range. The problem is that reviewrs are comparing it to flagships

  • If amoled and LCD loos the same to you that's fine man to me amoled is a no brainer and xiaomi can't brag about their cheap phone screens at all (pocophone biggest flaw was the poor screen), as for the M30s, I already stated that this is better for heavy gaming no doubt at all but the M30s can do gaming, you will probably need to mess with the settings a little to get the best out of it.

  • You are right the items are there but no reviews are to be found, I guess they have determined that early sales are hurt by bad reviews. I would hold any purchase until reviews are available just in case.

  • M30s processor is a cheap one. Not for gaming. But really you stares at the corner of their screen. I've used lcd and amoled phones both but don't have any issue with either other than contrast difference. I'm talking from experience point of view.

  • That's a very lie. What samsung phone you're using? Even flagships from 2 years are unable to handle today's game like today's mid range phones. 2 gb ram is too less to experience smooth pubg gameplay. Maybe you haven't played on smoother phones. So you think the performance you are getting on your 'samsung with 2gb ram' is the best performance.

  • The resolution is fine but it's a cheap IPS screen with uneven backlight with moderate dimming or light bleeding mainly around the notch and at the bottom of the screen but for the price I guess is passable, if you are not into heavy gaming you can check the samsung M30s which can be had for less and has an excellent amoled screen, has better battery life (6000 maH) and it's lighter and slightly smaller.

  • I Also Cant See Any Reviews In Amazon

  • How do you know amoled burn in anytime. Im using it 3 years now Samsung with amoled 2GB RAM and still playing PUBG with this phone. The display is very good. The budget phone that everyone buy in year 2017 below cant be compare with my phone none do better in pubg even if it has 4gb ram too mine is better. It did not heat for long gaming too use to play pubg 5 to 6hour a day only a small warm. Nowadays good phone does not mean good quality after 10 to 12 months it feel old new version of cpu gpu already available in the market that time. Especially below 20k phone it outdate too soon. Nowadays they build good phone not good quality.

  • I know it's a good phone. Im going to buy one soon. But, why can't i see user reviews & ratings on amazon india and flipkart??

  • No Samsung

  • You have to go to the apps that's showing ads, for example in music app, you need to go to the music app settings and disable 'recommendation' in there. Same process with all apps

  • I mean it's got a 1080p resolution. It's more than enough. Unless you need fancy quad resolution or something. I prefer 1080p because it consumes less battery and is good enough for video watching. There's no pixelation like some 720p panels as such.

  • rn8p or realme xt ?

  • This vs oppo a9 2020.. which one is better? Asking any one who has actually used them both..

  • Yes, you can compare the camera with Realme 5 Pro/Realme XT and Oppo F11/Reno2Z/Reno 2F. For the next step up in camera, you'd need something like the Reno2/Reno 10x zoom. Front camera is also about as good as the above mentioned devices though I'd say Oppo/Realme are doing w better job of face beautification.

  • It has the Samsung Bright GW1 ISOCELL sensor, not sony, BUT the sensor is not the only thing to factor in, the optics, OIS (don't have), and the camera app algorithms play an important role too. Only way to figure what it does is by samples of video and pictures, I'd say it's a regular mid range camera, absolutely NOT in the range of pixel, iphone 11 and such. Lacks OIS so you have to keep still so that pics come out well specially at night. The wide angle camera is pretty bad.

  • I find it funny that the Redmi Note 7 Pro notch is even smaller than the RN8P.

  • Same is happening with me

  • Is it came with any Sony's camera sensor? Plz rply quick

  • Battery life is ok, camera has received mixed reviews, no OIS, no great optics, wide angle camera bad specially on low light, no way a iphone 11 or pixel camera, the 64 megapixels spec doesn't mean great pictures, it looks you would do way better with pixel 3a, camera performance is top notch for about $300 or maybe less right now.

  • Yes, i think this is a good phone if you're just a not-so gamer.

  • Lasting 4 days without gaming.Really unexpected long battery life, opposite of all speaking that MediaTek are sucking battery too fast and have a short battery life. That was is in the past looks like. That's why there is 4500mA/h, not 4000mA/h as regular phones.

  • Is the resolution of the screen good enough?

  • I have been using several Redmi smartphones for the past 4 years and I'm a die hard Redmi & MIUI fan. This is my honest opinion and I'm not offending them but requesting for improvements. I bought the Redmi Note 8 Pro(6GB/128GB) during the first flash sale itself from Amazon.in and I was pretty impressed initially and still the same apart from a few concerns that I have. I will point out some pros & cons. Lets start with 'pros' . Pros: 1. Even if it is not a AMOLED screen, the display has good & deep contrast and bright colours when comparing it to other IPS LCD smartphones. 2. Touch sensitivity & response is awesome. 3. User interface is insanely fast & smooth. 4. The flash is way too bright 5. Dark mode looks good. 6. In-hand it look & feels like a premium smartphone 7. Gaming experience is awesome. It feels milky smooth. Higher frame rates. Impressive graphics. Cons: (some of them might be a bug and it could be resolved with updates, but I'm not sure) 1. I didn't find the Macro camera to be impressive & useful. Some images reminded me of those pictures taken with VGA cameras. Pictures taken using primary camera with 2x digial zoom looks way better in terms of colours & details. Try taking the same image in both these ways and you can find the difference. If it could be improved with updates, then Xiaomi, please take this seriously. Because it very disappointing, especially when Camera is one of the major striking element of this smartphone. 2. The selfie camera is only average. Its not great compared to other selfie cameras. I have used POCO F1 and it has better front camera (both smartphones are in same price bracket, now) 2. I don't know whats happening with my touch sometimes, rarely, some ghost touches are happening. 3. I don't find it overheating while intense gaming with high graphics and high frame rates, but it is getting warm. What I didn't like is, the phone is getting warm within 5 minutes of gaming like we have been gaming for 30 minutes. After gaming for 1-2 hours, I would say there is heating but definitely not overheating. 4. I usually watch YouTube videos at 480p resolution because it offers relatively good video quality and only consumes less data. While watching YouTube videos at 1080p and 720p, it feels great. But the problem arises when we watch videos at 480p resolution. It actually feels like you are watching at 240p resolution; it is that bad. Details are missing, I don't why. I haven't faced this issue in any other mobile phones. I felt that, it might be because of the bigger screen. ( like a 6 inch made display stretched to 6.5 inch display) . . These are some of the opinions and I hope it would be improved with software updates. Thank You

  • I got on 25 Oct. (amazon.in, First Sale) & I'm normal user. I didn't face any heating issue. Back cameras are just ok but front camera is brilliant (My wife have Oppo F11 Pro & I compared with them).

  • Is the camera good in low lights?

  • you can see all in youtube

  • Hi guys, I want to buy this phone. Can anyone share your experience of battery life and camera quality. How many hours of screen on time/use battery can last? How good is camera comparing to other flagships (80% of iPhone 11 Pro, Pixel phones)?

  • mistouch or delay in screen touch on lower right corner part, who encounter this one?

  • not a single good opinion which makes your comment FAKE

  • this question is only for that person who bought this phone from amazon.in .. how is this phone for PUBG and is there any heating issue

  • which color you bought

  • You should have gone at least for the K20 pro. You get what you pay for bro.

  • I'm fed with black campaign like this. Please imagine, Helio P60 has no sort of issue but U came with such unreasonable claim.

  • Also, in Indonesia its much cheaper than Realme XT. Regarding the Amoled, I will not craze bout it since it tend to burn in unspecific and unprecedented time, especially for cheaper products. Please share if you have bad issue with Mediatek, however judging from your short review there is nothing in common, right :)

  • A good buy in reasonably prices category (I use as it my secondary phone). Build quality is excellent, display is decent and bright for this class (would've been better if it was AMOLED). Anyway, camera is pretty decent too, photos in daylight and good light are alright, low light quality is what one can expect in this range, and night mode really helps. Phone doesn't too hot in long sessions of PUBG etc. (on high). SOT is very reasonable too, I haven't pushed it that far, but after nearly 5 hours, battery drain was about 45%. All in all a good budget phone IMHO.

  • Oh really!!! I was Planning to buy this device but but now I change my mind. Thank you so much.

  • I’m sure u r fake. I purchased on Amazon (first sale) & got 25th Oct. Till date I didn’t face any problem (including heating issue). Front camera is brilliant but back camera pictures have issue but I’m sure after updating issue will solve.

  • There's no such thing as hard limitation for the microSD. Manufacturers just list the max microSD storage based on what size is economically viable for end users. You can buy 1TB microSD, format it to exFAT using Windows, and insert it to your phone. It will work.

  • This phone is gorgeous! (Forest green) Amazing quality for the price. I bought the Global Rom and live in the US. I'm on ATT in Kansas and it perfoms incredibly on the LTE bands here. I always look for the best value, and this phone has surpassed my expectations. It lasts 2 days easy on standard use, NEVER gets hot, and is just insanely fast on any app. Fingerprint sensor is fast and easy to acclamate to the position. Until 5g is widespread here, this will be my daily driver. Thank you Xioami!!!!

  • How to disable advertisement? Thanks

  • This Forest Green phones is gorgeous! Battery lasts over two days unless I game or stream vids a lot, and then 1 day is still no issue. Phone is fast, screen looks great! Kudos to Xioami for this phone. The G90t is awesome for a mid range phone.

  • Should i get the pro now or the normal note 8

  • You exaggerate like some whiny chick. Get the sand our of your v ag.

  • hmmm.. you must be exaggerating. Non of the reviews I've watched mentioned any of those issues with heating. About the cameras and display you probably just had huge expectations or something. The phone is great for the prize.

  • The true gaming king

  • Is it really bad?I think to buy it

  • I need whether we can use the dual sim and memory card at a time

  • Thanks bro. Very clear explanation. I am not a gamer. So need your suggestion to buy which phone is best for performance and battery, Price below 15k INR.

  • It arrived a week ago. I told myself that I will give mediatek a go after several years. Worst decision of my life. The phone heats up sooo much. I left the camera open with the sceen on and put the phone in my pocked and after a few minutes I felt heat through my pocket. After it gets hot it drains the battery extremely fast. I get about 3 hours of screen on time while gaming. Oh and I experienced that the phone died 3x during gaming on its own and required to be booted up manualy. Also the display is very bad. It has extremely cold colors. Whites are basically blue.. And no contrast at all. Cameras are horrible also. The 64MP performs terribly except for very good conditions. During night it is unusable. The wide angle camera is unusable completely. No details, no colors, no contrast, no sharpness. Nothing. It reminds me of cameras from the flip phone era. The macro/depth senser are a complete gimmick and are there just to call it a quad camera set up. Also the speaker is extremely quiet and has no clarity. Please do yourself a favor and don't ever buy this phone. You will regret it from day 1.

  • I bought it on 28th Oct 2019. I am unable to pair my JBL live 200 bt headset with this device. It very much needed feature. I am not to find forgot button to unpair.

  • Why you always make phone with hybrid sim slot?? It is very disgusting! Other brand like Realme do better job with dedicated micro sd slot.

  • The phone has buit in alexa. I want to know can we uninstall it if we do not want to use it?

  • 256GB

  • He's asking if you can use fingerprint to click photo. Not in display fingerprint

  • How?

  • which one is better Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro or Nokia 7.2

  • Under display fingerprint sensors only work on AMOLED displays; because of how thick ips lcd screens are compared to AMOLED displays, you can’t fit a UD fingerprint sensor in it.

  • Xt better long term performance plus better lte modem

  • Camera comparison 64mp samsung gw1. or 48mp sony imx586. which one is better?

  • What's the max expandable memory limitation? I read somewhere it's 512gb but gsmarena is saying 256gb

  • When available in mangalore redmi note pro 8?

  • Performance wise, redmi note 8 pro is definitely better. On battery maybe 1 hour more on battery on z1 pro. But not by huge

  • which one is better, redmi note 8 pro 8/128 or realme xt 8/128 ?

  • just for clarification..is this phone supports lte band 28? the official mi site says it does but in your gsmarena specification it says it's not supported?

  • How about the GPS performance? Mediatek's chip usually is not good at this.

  • Compare to Vivo Z1 Pro, which one is better? From performance point of view? And from Battery point of view?

  • It supports selfie using fingerprint. Go to camera settings and enable it.

  • its good phone specially storage and charging

  • No it isn't

  • I contacted MI customer care and enquired about fingerprint sensor for selfie and call pickup. She says MI 8 pro dose no have.. does anyone know of it

  • Totally upset this because very low speaker volume and no claarity if using alexa then battery will drain finger print not userfree camera good except macro because no use. i am Mi fan but very very upset and waiting for update

  • Volume very upset compare than k20 macro no use charging ok overall my expectations reach only 20% if any update then ok Any one facing loud speaker issue?

  • Yes, all phones heat up if you play games with charging together

  • Compare with camera storage capacity and screen size and then decide

  • Check out your camera settings.Nothing like that

  • Just launched in India, Redmi Note 8 Pro comes in three RAM and storage configurations — 6GB/64GB, 6GB/128GB and 8GB/128GB — priced at Rs 14,999, Rs 15,999 and Rs 17,999, respectively.

  • This phone display is pretty bad, the backlight is uneven around the notch and at the bottom of the screen is slightly dimmer which becomes obvious under certain conditions. Not unlike pocophone. If display and battery are important to you M30s is better than this plus size, weight and price are less, gaming is pretty good overall with the M30s just not at the note 8 pro level, if you are not a gamer as such I have no particular reason to recommend this.

  • Hi which one is best redmi note 8 pro or honor 9x

  • I am also facing this issue.

  • hi, does it heat

  • The camera is much worse than Redmi Note 7 Pro. Any chance it will get better with future updates?

  • My note 8 pro shows a proximity sensor issue. Sometimes it's display goes off when the call just initiate

  • add all the specifications Connectivity & Extras Wi-Fi AC 2×2 MIMO Bluetooth 5.0 AptX HD LDAC A-GPS NFC 3.5mm headphone jack Rear fingerprint scanner IR Blaster

  • Which one do u suggest between this one & Mi 9 Lite??? Almost Same price here

  • No body need that built-in. Just download it from play store.

  • The burn in issue just like a bad luck, no body knew when. My SGS3 had no burn-in for six years, but my friend's LG phone have it on less than 1 yr. Hell yes I use my phone everyday and actively at that time.

  • Ok, I work on vmfs and nfs file systems, as i work on servers, and i do development on UFS specifications and they're not backwards compatible in my experience, not according to how much i have worked on, so you need to format the Mass/flash storage from the device to mount it so it can read and write on the UFS compatible block size on flash storage, as it can only work on few number of supported block size mostly formated by the device depending on UFS version. That's how the the hot plug direct mounting works.

  • can anyone tell me about display of this phone, is it better than amoled display ?

  • Yes, it DOSE🤣

  • I Don't Think So

  • Have Any1 Found Any Lags During Pubg & Hows The Camera Quality?

  • i have been using Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro but still i cant fix the fingerprint sensor for self.

  • I need to know dose the phone has automatic call recording

  • does mi note 8 pro has inbuilt pubg game in it

  • Can I use the Redmi Note 8 pro with the Osmo Mobile 3?

  • If you use the phone normal you will not get serious burn-in in the two year period you are expected to use it. Really drops and heating (like with fast chargers) are the common killers of phones.

  • For gaming note 8 pro...for overall performance realme 5 pro..i can say note 8 pro performs far well than the 5 pro in terms of game performance..but it becomes considerable hot.. though it somewhat acceptable in my opinion..(heat distribution is very poor for that you will feel lot hot during heavy gaming..I used it .this is decent device for gaming (no real life experience for realme 5pro i have just played 3 hours pubg game on it)thanks

  • You are completely wrong UFS is the storage type Ntfs, fat32 are disk formats Have some basic knowledge dude

  • Hi, I'm about to buy a new phone and I'm very torn between two options: This phone and Samsung Galaxy M30s. Not a big gamer, but I do occasionally play games when I'm with friends. Prefer something that's long-lasting. Please help me choose, thank you.

  • Yes

  • I'm thinking about buying this phone, but realme 5 pro 8/128 GB just came to market at about same price (less 20 eur). Which one do you think is better? Thank you

  • Totally agree

  • You won't be able to It supports UFS not vfat/exfat/ntfs so you have to format your card from mostly inside your phone, take backup and do it.

  • It is now, wait for next sale but register in advance for it.

  • Mi9T have better camera and decent chipset for gaming, alas better to go with Mi9T Pro if you're in budget.

  • Have anybody forgotten that AMOLED (i.e. on Realme XT) prone to screen burn and over saturated. People do talking about this until 2-3 years ago, but getting less overtimes. I do love them in Samsung flagship, but the A series screen are not that great.

  • This is good but there are better if you are looking for visual quality go for oled or amoled screens, if you like big screen experience its best with 6.53" display.

  • Yes

  • Go for note 8 pro it's newer has better battery life and bigger screen with better GPU for gaming and for photography it has 64 MP camera. With 2 MP macro camera and 8 MP ultrawide angle which covers 4/5 photography requirements it only lacks a telephoto camera which you may able to achieve with a lens.

  • Go to settings->sim cards and mobile networks ->SIM CARD SETTINGS-> Use VoLTE

  • The indian version has different specs and its has inbuilt alexa assistant too

  • Indian version has dedicated memory card slot

  • Does Redmi Note 8 Pro support Screen Mirroring.

  • is this phone a god phone for playing PUGB ??

  • How to enable volte..helppp

  • tell me what should i choose redmi note 8 pro or mi9t, i need a phone that can give me a good quality of my mobile phtography, and good in gaming please help me to choose whats the best?

  • I would suggest to consider the M30s instead of A50s mainly because of the price and the gigantic battery but also because the in display fingerprints scanner are working really bad in midrange phones of 2019. So: For incredibly better display and battery, lower weight and size, less ads and probably spyware and such go samsung m30s. For hard core gaming and nfc get redmi note 8 pro.

  • Redmi Note 8 Pro is a better choice, A series are very slow.

  • Try to hard reset and see what happened. Probably you need also check the updates, my cousin's old MTK got no similar issue, then its not about the MTK generally.

  • So i have used this phone for about a week now. The only thing i want to address is about the phone's performance. I dont know what i did wrong but sometimes when i play games like COD and ML for more than an hour or for a long time, the phone kick me out of the game and sometimes it even restart the phone by itself...which never happened when i use a phone with a SD 625. One more problem that I've found is that sometimes the phone wont let me use the google app (it shows error that the app keep closing by itself). I dont know whether this a problem with the ram which is impossible since it has 6gb ram. Or the MTK problem or maybe I'm just unlucky?

  • Yup. If you're not used to it. 200mg bro

  • Please, I want to review Redmi Note 8 mobile and we hope to pay attention to the acoustics very important.

  • Why amazon in india not selling 6gb/64gb variant? Which price is at 14,999/- ₹

  • Xiaomi is better

  • Hey guys please let me know if i should buy samsung A50s redmi note 8 pro phone with good camera, gaming exp and better battery

  • It automatically reads memory card. Maybe your sd card is broken or something. Format your mmc using the supported format then try.

  • I mean miui update is for sure not the best but it's far from the worst. They do push out updates but since the beta rom is discontinued, the updates are slower now. But still updates are better than that of samsung 100%.

  • Performance doesn't decrease for playing games but your battery sure does get's damaged. And damaged battery affects your phone's performance. And the second answer is no, it won't heat that much since it has liquid cooling inside which keeps the phone cool from overheating

  • I'd wait it out until we'll see some real 3rd dev support for this. By that I mean proper kernel source rel and the follow up custom ROMs' scene. Sorry but I can't really trust MIUI's base Android + security patch level to be regularly updated officially. That's the usual problem with any Mediatek inside phones, not just Redmi/Mi.

  • If we play heavy games daily will the G90T's performance decreased?? As it was thing that usually happened to MTK. But maybe the G90T is different? Also does it heat a lot to slow your gaming experience?

  • in redmi note 8 , if you are using headset and if any incoming call comes , then your call will be automatically muted . Also swipe up screen will mute the call automatically while using headset. also while calling on headset , if you play you tube or send a message in whatsapp, your call will be muted . Some times , while calling someone on headset, your call is also automatically muted .

  • Note 8 pro very good phone

  • Redmi note 8 pro

  • Price Indonesia (IDR) Rp.3.499.000,- 6GB RAM / 128GB Storage..

  • i just bought last week, happy with it so far, one question how do i enable it to read SD card cannot see my files, help pls!

  • Can I ask if this phone's SoC supports Band 28 (700MHz)?because the official site Mi site says it is supported. Check this link

  • if this model is one of the banned in pokemon go app?

  • There's another video just like this one in which it's shown this phone going past 42 Celsius, WITHOUT a case, I guess that in the short term this is not a problem as long as you don't mind holding a hot phone in your hands which it may be annoying to some, in the long term though, it may shorten the battery lifespan and/or the long term reliability of the device itself, but we don't know yet, in a year, year an a half we will know of problems surfaced or not.

  • Like many youtubers showed in their videos, most of the heat are dissipated at the top left corner of the phone's back which is exactly where your hand would be gripping the phone during gaming. If you can cope with it then it won't be a problem for you.

  • Is this phone too heavy?

  • maybe you can check this video. He debunked the heating issues.

  • In the description it says about back side protected with gorilla glass 5... Actually is it Glass or polycarbonate material? Or any other material?? Please give a clarification on this

  • go for snapdragon for google camera and better battery performance

  • I'm sure xiaomi managed to get those g90Ts for cents on the dollar for use in their cheap phones, still the damn thing flies through current games. Unhappily it runs hot but hey there's no cheap and perfect right?

  • In the phone description says there are 4 colors: Black, Red, Blue, White. In the images here on the Xiaomi website and website there are only 3 colors: Pearl White, Forest Green and Mineral Gray. So can anyone explain to me which Blue phone is in the review photo?

  • Xiaomi Mi 9t or this one?

  • Bro G9OT is newly made for gaming and good performance

  • Redmi Note 8 Pro (Mediatek Helio g90t) or mi9t (Sd730) Pls help me

  • Enough to make your hands sweat a littile if you game for long, enough to affect long term reliability of the phone or lifespan of the battery? That we don't know for sure right now as more people get to use this phone we will see. I read MT is working on a 7nm part that will surely run cooler than this.

  • Mi 9T obviously, it's in different segment and price range with the others

  • if you already consider the A70 i think it better to put mi 9t into consideration too

  • do you buy the global version or the chinese model ?

  • i rather pick the note 8 pro, but it depends on your needs

  • Redmi note 8 pro

  • I know that it have better performance for games but not in battery and camera processing...at least that is what I know about it since Redmi note 4

  • as you said you are not a gamer , Note 8 pro's only drawback is it gets heated while gaming , everything else about this phone is great 👌🏻

  • Is this Samsung GM Camera???

  • How bad is the heating of this phone? Is it fine or bad? Planning to buy it or should I stick with buying Realme 5 Pro?

  • Is Mediatek ok? I read that is not so good like Snapdragon or Exynos

  • Redmi note 8 pro and Redmi note 8 both have good price with owesome configuration

  • You can check a70s.

  • Prblm DRM , Redmi Note 8 Pro can not play video in HD.

  • Hi I am planning to buy new phone In this 3 Samsung's a 30s Vivo 15 pro Redmi note 8 pro Which one us better. Please reply asap. Waiting for ur reply

  • Today i got redmi note 8 pro from Amazon. Worst phone. phone lower left touch not working properly.

  • The F1s SD845 kills any of these midrange processors but the pocophone itself was ugly and the screen was really bad with serious light bleeding issues plus a big notch and made of ugly plastic and had a lot of software issues. Pocophone was and still is more expensive than these midrange phones. For a pure gaming phone on the cheaps it still remains an option.

  • Xiaomi Mi 8 8GB RAM 128GB flash :)

  • Green, amazing colour for this phone

  • I recommend samsung A70 or A50s

  • white could be an good option. if you like elegant style get the black

  • Pocophone F1 Vs note 8 pro?? CPU GPU

  • Gamma Green is super

  • Redmi note 8 pro or Samsung galaxy a50s ?

  • I'm pretty sure the note 8 pro is better, simply because the new g90t processor is really quick, comparable to even flagship processors. As for display, in my experience, I haven't had any trouble with xiaomi devices so far (I currently own a xiaomi redmi note 4X and xiaomi mi pad 4), the colours look great, although it has a slight blue tint. Though not very noticable. Once it releases in Indonesia (29 October) I will buy it and if you want I can share my experience with you if you're not in a hurry to buy one. -Abin

  • purchase a phone that will be capable to play LOL Mobile if your planning to play that game. Also it would be the best to get a good phone for year 2020

  • Any color, if it is black color :) (c) Henry Ford

  • gray elegant looking

  • It is no pixel 3a but it manages to get decent pictures day and night, take a look at the review provided on this site.

  • Mi 9t

  • HI, i am planning to buy a new phone next month ( i am looking for good display, gaming, camera phone)* no need compare for the price which one is better? Realme XT , Realme5pro, Redmi note 8 pro , samsung a70

  • Hey guys I decide to buy redmi note 8 pro But I can't decide about choose good color which color is so beautiful ?

  • Redmi Note 8 pro display is it different from the various IPS LCD display ?

  • Save some more and buy yourself a Realme, that is a good phone!

  • Is it water proof ?

  • It is a great device in this price range, and in general. Big battery, plenty of power and a good camera. The screen is sharp and bright, up to 640 nits in auto. If you prefer the most accurate colors rather then punchy then select "Standard contrast mode" in display settings, it is the most accurate option.

  • Mi 9 lite or Redmi note 8 pro camera better?

  • the same price? where can i get it?

  • Pls rumor has it that the redmi note 8 pro's 64mp camera is bad is this really true

  • note 8 pro or mi 9 lite or mi 9t or mi9se

  • If you don't mind the cheap IPS display, the cheap heating noname processor, the bad placement of the fingerprint scanner and the Xiaomi's ads storm you can still consider getting this one. On the plus side it's fast and all important features are there. If moderate++ heating and the bad display are no deal breakers for you I guess this is a decent deal from Xiaomi. If not looking for heavy gaming the Samsung M30s could be a viable alternative in the price range with way better amoled display and a 6000mah battery.

  • Nope and indisplay fingerprints are of no use

  • It has plastic frame ips display cameras are good But ur samsung s8 is better device even now

  • If u r a gamer it is a good phone if u need a good camera then its good but if u r into gcam and all no u can't use gcam on this one

  • Redmi note 8 pro half the price of that phone with better raw performance than oppo reno 2 Oppo reno 2 has better build better cameras

  • What will be the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro price in bangladesh?

  • I’ve gone through Xiaomi India website and nothing on NFC mentioned for Redmi Note 8 Pro. Perhaps that was the trade off to get a dedicated sd card slot

  • Hey guys i have one qustion i need opinion i want buy new phone and tell me Xiaomi Redmi 8 pro or Oppo Reno 2? Which is better? I think Oppo Reno 2,

  • The phone actually supports more bands than listed here (for example, Vodafone UK's band 20) - check the specs page on the Xiaomi website for a full list.

  • Hey I wanna buy redmi note 8 pro Is it good phone ?

  • Redmi note 8 pro has a gaming chipset which is very powerful and runs games like pubg in high fps ..regarding heating issues...as the device has a powerful gamig chipset hence heating is there while playing games but doesn't over heat...heating stays near 40 41 degree

  • Thinking to switch from Galaxy S8 to Redmi Note 8 Pro.... is it worth it?

  • If u don't mind a much heavier body and a downgrade to IPS LCD, then yes

  • Nokia 8.1 is the only good device that nokia has every other phone of Nokia is of no use.

  • Totally only thing that you ll lose is a amoled display but rest everything is great

  • Is this one suitable for gaming? I'm asking cause i heard this one heat more than other smart phones is that true?

  • display fingerprin?

  • The main diff is the camera, the screen, and the battery. Note 7 and 8 is pretty simular apart from the 4k capability of the note 8 but the note 8 pro gives you a bigger battery. I'm currently using the note 7 for the past 4-5 months and there wasn't any issues. I recommend getting the note 7 ONLY if you're on a budget, but i personally will get myself the note 8/pro.

  • Yes, I heard Indian market got no NFC but traded with dedicated SD Card slot.

  • thinking of switching from my galaxy a50 to note 8 pro..... is it worth it??

  • The Redmi Note sells in Indonesia are made in Indonesia, I have no worry then.

  • Thank u frnd... Today i was going to buy but now I'm aware of it

  • If you want the tallest phone, get the Note 8 Pro. If you want the lightest phone, get the Nokia 7.2 If you want the most storage, get the Nokia 7.2 The Redmi Note 8 Pro has the most cameras. (4) The main camera of the Note 8 Pro is 64 MP, while the Nokia 7.2’s main camera is only 48 MP. The fastest battery charging is on the Redmi Note 8 Pro. So, basically, you should get the Redmi Note 8 Pro.

  • Me: looks at Samsung Galaxy A70s page Thinks: ooh Samsung got dat 64 MP camera boiiiiii Me: looks at Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro Thinks: ooh Xiaomi got dat 64 MP camera boiiiiii Oooh Samsung Galaxy A70s and the Redmi Note 8 Pro got a 64 MP camera

  • Can someone tell me the major differences in the redmi note 7 (i love this), redmi note 8 and redmi note 8 pro (i love the white)? I want to purchase either one but i am not sure about which one. I am not a gamer. I only use phone for social media apps. Camera isn't a huge thing for me but i want an okay camera phone for the best price. I will be using a lot of apps. like FB, IG, Whatssapp, email, LR, PS, lyft, uber, .... alot of apps but none for gaming. For the best price which one must i get? I like the redmi note 8 pro but i see bad reviews with heating. i am going for 64 - 128 gb.

  • I am using it and this mobile is very good in this price range but no app drawer in this phone. Can anyone tell me how can i use app drawer in this phone without using third party app... Thanks...

  • If you have this phone, it mean a bomb in your pocket, because xiaomi phones produce more heat than other phones, i was a employee of xiaomi and i got daily 10 device exploded cases. Dont buy chinese phone.

  • It truly depends on what you need. If you are purist and want to experience pure android with zero bloatwares then go for nokia. The SOC is older but it will do the job of your daily tasks. However if you are good with custom ui and you want performance for the bucks you are spending go for redmi note 8 pro extremely good performance and brilliant battery life.

  • Is it's Indian version is non hybrid. Because Xiaomi India told me that it have dedicated MSD slot with separate DUAL SIM slot?

  • Xiaomi India have said that this model is non hybrid but you are saying that it's hybrid phone. What is the truth?

  • I am using it and i can assure you i haven't faced any kind of abnormal heating in this phone. I don't understand why people are being very skeptical when it comes to mediatek powered devices..I have used plenty of Snapdragon powered phones they do heat as well and nobody gives a d**n. If you use resource hungry and graphical intense applications and games for long time the phone will get hot and it is completely normal!.

  • I too hope that heating hype is just a gimmick. Hope everything goes well.

  • My Nokia 8.1 is better than Redmi Note 8 pro

  • The video you linked says 37°C, not 67°C. You need a new pair of glasses before you get a new phone.

  • Havent u compared the specs nokia got a bull shit soc n cameras n every thing nokia is finished man just there name on which they r relying otherwise its all over for nokia in 2019

  • Logically 67-celcius is impossible since its not exploded. I've seen many claims that MTK heats much, but the claims itself is baseless. Many devices from HP and TV uses MTK with not that much issues. Seems like anti-fan or paid persons constantly do black campaign.

  • somebody tell me nokia 7.2 or xiaomi 8 pro ?????

  • Why the heck everyone saying me liar. I just said what I've seen..i don't if it is really true about that temperature. I am asking a question not concluding a bad opening about this phone. & mind your words mister. How dare you say stupid to me.. can't you have some decency, don't you understand what i asked.?

  • This phone is amazing Played COD at very high graphics and with extreme fps for 3hours didn't even face any lag or over heating. Smooth gameplay totally loved it. Display is great supports widevine l1 and HDR but netflix havent whitelisted it yet so no HD streaming. Battery is monster got 9h+ screen on time with still 20% left. With external amplifier the sound production is extremely clear and loud with earphones aswell and the speakers are quite decent too they arent that quite as in review they said you may miss a call well they are quite loud and clear. The cameras are good but ultra wide pics arent that good maybe a software update will fix that they are quite dark. So if you want a bang of buck midrange phone go for it.

  • I think you have rejected permission to some system app.

  • I don't know if I'm blind or smtg else but i can clearly see that was 37°, not 67°. I even watched it on 240p...

  • No bro Mkbhd im not lying, in that video it shows 67° temperature of cpu after doing antutu test, iam myself confused..see that video or Someone do an antutu test and let me know the cpu Tempereature

  • hello guyz, please help , i have mi note 8 pro and i am getting this message almost every 3 minutes " without subscription to server -33- " on my screen, it is very annoying , what should i do ? PS: i did factory reset and the message still appear, please help me :( thank you.

  • No, the regular miui.

  • What you need to understand is that this phone has a chip with 12 nm architecture which means it has the same heat as snapdragon 636 and 660. And according to my understanding, yes they do heat up but not so much so that it becomes a problem. I have used both Snapdragon 636 and 660 phones from xiaomi. But for me, I'd pick realme xt over note 8 pro because that one has amoled display and Snapdragon 712, to be on safe side. Mtk g90 is still new and not much is known about it. Snapdragon has better history than mtk in the long run. Good luck.

  • I have this phone for 2 weeks now and had no heating issues. Im beginning toi believe theres much mis(dis)information around this sibject in the internet!

  • Why are you lying

  • CPU Tempereature of this phone got up to 67° thats too much, I saw Antutu scores of Redmi Note 8 Pro on YouTube. I don't believe is that true? Im worried now. See the link below for reference.. Look at cpu temp at 1:48 of this video

  • I don't think there is too much heat.. every phone heat up bro.. we have to carefull about it. It's depend upon your day to day performance.. you can go for it

  • HELP - I actually wanted to buy this phone 2 days ago but I saw some YouTube videos about its heating issue (something related to heating during PUBG HDR) which held me back from buying it. Now I really liked this phone and I want to buy it. I don't play PUBG but yes I play COD-M and MOBA games. Can someone tell me if it's heating issue is really something to worry about? I don't spend a lot on phones and I want this phone to last at least 2-3 years. During that time I might keep trying new and upcoming games. Can anyone tell me by experience that this phone is safe to use and there's no heating issue? Also.. if it does get heated up alot, what damage would that cause to phone.. Really nees help. Thank you.

  • guyz which color varient you bought???

  • Yes, release in indonesia SPECS RAM 6GB Rom 128GB.

  • Which one is better?.. realme 5 Pro VS realme X2 VS redmi note 8 Pro?

  • Yes, it is present.

  • Yes, im there

  • yes

  • I really love this phone. The 64mp quad camera is really great. The best android phone for its price.

  • led notification ?

  • Is mi note 8 pro or oppo A9 20202 good for mobile photography

  • It's depends on what u mean long use. It's great for 2 years of using, which is best time to switch the phone.

  • I personally never use samsung smartphone And iPhone is ios Other is android Cannot be compared Asus rog2 is gaming phone with 120hz refresh rate But if you dont need it, 1plus 7 pro and black shark2 is cheaper with lower refresh rate

  • Does the Indian version have NFC? What other differences are there between the Indian and the international version?

  • Ok

  • What's the difference between the Indian and the international version? I read that the Indian one has a dedicated micro SD slot. Does the Indian version have NFC? It's confusing Xiaomi releasing different spec for different markets.

  • should i buy redmi note 8 Pro for long term use..

  • Does this the redmi note 8 pro have Android one?

  • He is correct bro and so are you. What I mean is , this G90T will heat up but , base on my observation it only HEATS up when you use the phone for ultra extreme gaming . It will not heat up for normal usage. All snapdragon chips also HEAT up if we use them at their full power ( even those that have cooling chamber heats up right? )

  • Redmi Note 7's cam with Gcam is a lot better bro

  • She's far better.

  • This phone is a great deal! There is just 2 major drawbacks for me : Phone HEATS up when under intense gaming with max graphics ( cause of course , duh ) Possible solution could be playing at medium graphics The CAMERAS ( except main cam ) sucks very very bad. If Gcam can be installed then this one will be resolved.

  • NFC is present in Redmi Note 8 Pro.

  • it is

  • yes...it has l1 support

  • NFC is available or not in redmi note 8 pro

  • Hello, Redmi note 7 with GCAM better or redmi note 8 pro original camera better?

  • Does it comes with widevine L1 certification in India or global?

  • What do you suggest me to get-MI9t,oneplus6t or galaxy s9?

  • Yes it can, i used since redmi note 5

  • The Redmi Note 8 Pro price in India starts at Rs 14,999 for 6GB + 64GB variant, Rs 15,999 for 6GB + 128GB variant and Rs 17,999 for 8gb + 128 gb version. The smartphone will go on sale from October 21 2019.

  • Oof. Another wanna be tech smart guy. They don't suffer from heating and their battery timing is just as good (actually better in my personal usage).

  • Ouuuuu.. Clever.

  • No.

  • Realme 5 Pro uses Sony IMX 586 vs Redmi Note 8 Pro uses a sensor from Samsung. Sony sensor is well-known as one the best sensor out there. So, camera performance goes to Realme 5 Pro

  • Better buy redmi note 8

  • In Indian varient you can install google camera app..which performs way better than the stock app. But the stock app too performs very well, especially the front camera.

  • Yes, very much possible.

  • This phone is excellent except one major con that is it takes 2 hours to charge full battery even with fast charger and I don't like this that's why I love realme phones

  • I heard about some great heating issues of this phone...can it be solved after software update

  • On 16th october, The redmi note 8 pro launched in india. Is this global version? Or not?? Can i buy this phone for Nepal? This phone works in Nepal i.e network/Simcards support.???

  • RN 8 pro or RM 5 pro My concern is camera pls reply...thanx

  • nfc is an existent feature

  • can both sim connect to 4G at same time?

  • Absolutely not. Its in JPEG. However the colour balance is smooth like silk.

  • I am looking forward to note 8 pro's miui 11 upgrade. If everything goes smooth after the update then I'll make my decision.

  • Hahahah thumbs up!!!!!!!!!

  • Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro only support Widevine L3 and doesnt support L1 ? this HDR support screen can be use to watch HDR video on Netflix, Youtube ?

  • Mediatek Helio G90T? Really? Mediatek always suffer from heating issue and they're haven't find solution yet. It fast, but heating issue will cause instability and battery throttling, result short-life battery life. People will stuck with Redmi Note 7 for sure, until Redmi using Snapdragon chipset again.

  • Call recoding is not working in this set... Any body guide me?

  • Set is good.. But it message app is worse.. I cant hide my messages and my contacts as well.. Is there any other way to hide msgs Also it is not supporting call recording..this device is not have its built-in call recording function and it is not supporting as well.. Worse experience

  • It have live focus mode

  • In India, Redmi Note 8 Pro has dedicated micro sd card slot while global variant has hybrid sim slot

  • On-screen fingerprint sensor should have been given.

  • Pro version does have #NFC

  • No NFC in note 8 and pro

  • If we talk above mediatek 3 years ago, yaa i Said useless.. But Rigt now we cannot judge him With left eye

  • I expected snap dragon and adreno in it.

  • this or mi 9t?

  • Realme XT is better

  • Yes, they have listened to you and provided two dedicated Sim Slot & a micro SD Card Slot separately. And also, Indian variant is been provided support to Google Camera App. As far as super amoled display concerns..we have seen the fate of Mi A3, didn't made a hit..cuz in this price range if you want super amoled then there will be reduction of other facilities/features for cost cutting. New processor (Helio G90T) is a highliting point. It's performance and reliability will be tested with time. We cannot judge so fast. Human wants never ends. You get what you pay for.

  • First Xiaomi phone with IP52

  • Realme XT is best

  • Go for note 8 pro for gaming .Trust me it kills xt

  • Realme XT takes the lead. SD 712 is much better for gaming.

  • Go for Note 8 Pro

  • Redmi Note 8 Pro is better one for gaming

  • westside bro.. go with note 8 pro. gpu of note 8 is much better...

  • XT got super amoled, but note 8 pro got NFC( connecting other devices or digital pa y) and infrared (TV remote control) which is both are pretty useful, and a bigger battery too. As for the chipset, I think they are both great and pretty close.

  • Can anyone tell me the latest mediatek is good or not?

  • Go for note 8 pro

  • Does this shoot RAW format for photos?

  • I already using Samsung A30 for five months and its going fine. But I am thinking to switch to Redmi Note 8 Pro. Will it be good decision or not?

  • Redmi note 8 Pro for gaming is the best

  • Please help me I'm stuck between realme XT and Redmi Note 8 Pro, my concern is for gaming. Thanks in advance.

  • This phone fails bend test. And crack its display when it bend slowly. And drop test is also bad

  • Yes MI Phones supports Google Play Store if it have the Global version , doesn't have google play store in china

  • and you have proof of that? Mr Znowdun..

  • I need a phone from Mi Max series

  • in fact you can fry an egg(sunny side up) when the phone heats up.

  • I think xioami is not wakeup till now indians will use 2 sims and a memory card slot.but all other companies like real me going with 2 sims and a memory card slot.so xiomi should over come these.and xiomi should take not 9 pro with super amoled display in midrange with out missing ir blaster.

  • yes global Rom.but you can install google apps on china Rom too.

  • Dose mi phones support google apps

  • Bro you are talking about on paper specs. In real world performance there is no match with helio as its the best chipset and way better than sd 730.

  • Launched in Pakistan three days back with free Mi band 4 ♥️

  • Hello friends Call recorder is not being work in this set... Any body give me solution??

  • SDM 730 is way better than Helio G90T .. SD 730 has adreno GPU + 8nm + Dsp + better LTE modem ... Which is way better than this Helio 12nm .. So .. wait for next : world of Warcraft edition, Redmi Note 8 pro

  • IF you search for the Helio G90T you will find that this processor support the 90HZ display refreshment

  • Use adguard .u can easly remove all ads

  • Does it have Widevine L1 ?

  • Helio G90T is faster stronger thn 730. Check antutu score

  • Pls someone can help me i am stuck between realme 5 pro and RN 8 pro , my concern is only camera . thanx in advance

  • Which one is better? Redmi Note 8 pro or Mi A3? Help

  • Redmi note 8 pro vs realme 5 pro which one is better .

  • The camera of Samsung Galaxy A70 is the worst that ever constructed. This is very sad, because as a phone device is a diamond!

  • I saw some users complain about the Gcam not being available in this device.

  • I would like to know if the Redmi Note 8 Pro has the Bluetooth format "APTX HD and LDAC? It isn't mentioned at the Gsmarena site but some other sites I've noticed information that this model has these formats. Please, I do hope on any reliable responses.

  • Mi 9T pro is almost a flagship.

  • Nop, sorry, I share your opinion too.

  • Lets see.....redmi note 8 pro suits u the best coz it has nfc that can support your business carrier such as top upping e-money

  • Redmi Note 8 Pro doesnt have Widevine L1 ? That HDR screen can be use for watch HDR quality on Netflix ?

  • imagine. Xiaomi company makes one of the most strongest and cheapest smartphones. and if you will compare the strengths with other company smartphones the price will visible cheaper. because of their display and the phone materials. it's cheaper material than Samsung or Apple or Huawei smartphones material but the same durability. Oled displays are more expensive than LCD.

  • I would recommend you if you wanna go cheaper one buy Huawei mate 10 Pro. in fact, it was one of the respected smartphone in it's time. By the way the second recommendation would be the Samsung Galaxy S8 as if you can find it for around 250 and 300$.

  • mi 9t, has amoled screen and slightly better snapdragon 730

  • hi all is the mate 10 good phone ?? it cost 250$ now , did you recommended it ??

  • What is wrong with you Xiaomi? Couldn't you use OLED Screen?

  • Does it have or does it support 90Hz display because Company is claiming it as a gaming smartphone,. & gaming smartphones these days are supporting 90Hz/120Hz Display. Does it too?

  • Honestly, after the MIUI 10.4.5 update under Sept. 1 security patch, WOW! My Note.8 Pro Singapore GLOBAL ROM on 128/6gb was super fast, efficient, and very responsive. Using the Full coverage tempered glass and a lot of people is asking if which Brand and Model. Camera Perfect. Display and Resolution perfect. Sofware and build plus the Battery back up and Features. STAND OUT! Looks like Oneplus 7T. With Black Carbon fibre casing

  • Which one 8pro or mi 9t ?

  • Sadly it's IPS LCD, if it were an AMOLED it'd be my choice, but guess i'll stick to the mi 9t.

  • If you have a few more bucks then the Mi 9T Pro since it has the best Processer out now.

  • Absolutely Agreed. Used it for 2 days, pretty cool and there were no heating issues someone mentioned here.

  • i think this is the best android phone world wide can compete with iphone and samsung phone's. 2thumbs up for this !!!

  • Not at all

  • And more heat (ahm I mean hot) with snapdragon

  • Get the honor then, nobody forced you to stick here. I don see it as downgrade, in fact the spec is in line with all the other note series or even above the average note series spec. Redmi note series has always deployed mid midrange chipset since the the note 1 era, while this G90T is considered the top of the midrange chip at this date. Even camera wise, they have also upgraded to similar sensor as their flagship Mi series phone.

  • Don't worry about overheating on daily use.

  • Redmi Note 8 Pro or Mi 9T Pro?

  • Please, tell me where is downgrade? You're right about Kirin 810, but Kirin 810, detroys Snapdragon 730! Comparing to Note 7 Pro and Snapdragon 675, Note 8 Pro is better on everything : - process are equal...12nm from TSMC or 11 from Samsung...TSMC is maybe even better. - CPU, G90T is a little better...Kryo 4xx are Cortex A76/A55 mix - GPU, Mali G76mc4 is about twice better than Adreno 612 - memory is faster on G90 - ISP allows 64MPixels with MFNR on G90 when SD675 is limited to 48MP - Note 8 Pro uses UFS2.1 Storage, 7 Pro uses slower eMMC - camera set is better on Note 8 Pro - you've got NFC Non-Pro Note 8 isn't an upgraded. Pro is an huge one!

  • i think MI9 LITE is good choices

  • Yeah, but xiaomi deliver Security patches for years, even on their cheapest devices...You think that google, apple, microsoft etc. don't steal user data for US goverment?Believe me, chinese goverment and chinese companies are little kitties compared to US

  • redmi note 8 pro & mi 9t which is better

  • Yea. Snapdragon are much more refined with its adreno gpu.

  • Chinese phones send data to chinese government, american phones(iphone, androids like pixel, samsung, lg, sony) send data to american government . It is a lose-lose situation.

  • Of course the Mi 9 lite is the best choice it's has a better cpu and better screen "superamoled" for taking photos and processing it it'll be great

  • It's fifty billion years.

  • Better start studying, leave the apps and the gaming and focus on your studies. Save and buy Note 10 Plus. Be successful.

  • All three phones have been reviewed on here, camera samples of all can be found as well, if you are really serious about photography then go for the pixel 3a. Its' currently $299 USD, it will kill each and every phone camera quality except maybe for pixel 4 and iPhone 11.

  • Hi everyone.I have one question.I want to buy this phone(Redmi note 8 pro,Mi A3 ,Mi 9 lite).I am study.I take very much a photo and using very many apps.Give me the best option for me.

  • If aimed for business I would base my decision on 4 factors: looks, size, battery life and security, the first two are to your liking, for battery life the note 8 pro likely is going to be best, for security maybe none of them since chinese phones are suspect of stealing data for the chinese government or to sell it, if you think your data is sensitive better get a non chinese phone by all means.

  • Hi many people! I have important question. I want to buy this phone (redmi note 8 pro or redmi note 8 or redmi note 7/pro). Which is the best option for me? My main purpose for phone is more business and usage of apps - IG and emails and LR, PS etc. I don't use games and will not be using games. I use a phone only for business and photos. I will not be installing any gaming apps. So tell me which is best option? I will be buying the 128 GB version out of the listed phones above. Give me the best option for me.

  • Exactly dude, Mi A3 is another clear downgrade example, a cheap attempt to go back to a 720p display to save money in display and processor as well, with this one the cheap IPS display and a heating cheap processor instead of a decent SD SOC. Xiaomi definitely is looking for better margins, k20 pro went out so more expensive in india than in china that it triggered severe criticism from indian reviewers and users. The Mix Alpha is another hint they are wanting to appeal to a different type of customer now, good luck to Xiaomi, it's going to take a lot of effort to change of customer base, I just don't think that people that buy iPhones and such is going to take them seriously anytime soon.

  • Thank you for your valuable opinion :) I'm now going to buy this.

  • Mediatek and IPS LCD are the main reasons for me to skip redmi note 8 pro. G90T performance is not even good enough to compete honor 9x's kirin 810. Framerate dropped badly in heavy games unlike kirin 810. Xiaomi is starting to downgrade their famous devices for more profit like redmi 8.

  • Hi. People with these phone, what about battery heating and the Helio processor in daily use?? I'm thinking bought these one, but these things make me curious..

  • Honestly, you should probably get this phone considering how out of date your old one is. This one should be more than enough, you get Android Pie (9.0) and MiUi 10 (soon to be MiUi 11). I recently ordered one from AliExpress and it has recently dropped somewhat in price. For roughly USD $200 this isn't a bad deal by a long shot. I have had the Redmi Note 6 Pro and the Pocophone F1 and they both still work great to this day, even with the Mediatek SOC this should be fine and should at minimum last a couple years with normal usage. It's a good deal if you think about what you're getting here.

  • Guys.. what's the lifespan of a liquid cooling system in this phone.. thanks

  • Is it true that mtk has a big problem that it'll start to lag after a months? Not for a longterm gaming?

  • Guys, please say should i buy this phone or wait for more better variant like Mi CC9 Lite or any other variant under 15k price range. My current phone stopped supporting Instagram cuz it's running on KitKat 4.4.4 version :( My current phone will soon be totally obsolet/unusable.

  • Please end this glossy design

  • If you want to force heating on a phone, you can on everyone! Including iPhone! Some youtubers find a single game (PUBG) and base all their heating theory on this single game... ...sometime they force heating by adding background tasks like screen-recording. When you Ask these youtubers to test other games...they ignore you. A scientific way to analyse things. Note 8 Pro heats on PUBG... Problem can be : Note 8 Pro or PUBG Ok I will test PUBG on Galaxy S10 (Exynos)...oh there are framedrops! Ok I will try some other games on Note 8 Pro...Asphalt 9 stay cold, ARK Survival Evolved on Epic/high settings heats a little but don't overheat. In your opinion, according to the latest test, where is the problem? On Note 8 Pro? I don't think! In your opinion, why some youtubers refused to do these tests? In my opinion, these tests don't proove what they want to proove. Don't see any PUBG heating test on PUBG since some day...maybe some updates solve the problem?

  • I think you never tried one!

  • There were very good older Mediatek's soc One exemple Back in 2015 with two competitors, mt6752 and SD615... The piece of garbage was...SD615! Most time Mediatek's behaves like they should when you compare them to their true competitors...that wasn't the case for many Qualcomm's in the past (SD410/412/415/615/616/808/810)

  • It's more complcate 1. Not Always. USB C can have USB 2.0 data rates like standard microUSB...but on Note 8 Pro, USB 3.0 is ok 2. Micro USB can use fast charging. It's Power Delivery compliant up to 24W (12V x 2A). 18W like on Note 8 Pro is possible with micro-USB 3. Reversible...ok on this one ;-) 4. Reverse charging...it's possible with micro-USB

  • I dont like to gameing. This phone is good for me or not? This phone get hot upto 45 while playing videos or chargeing ??

  • Not even older ones. Still on a P10 for 3 years. Perfectly capable still. Course there are issues, Bluetooth disconnects, and wifi droping out sometimes, but i lived with them perfectly.

  • What a beauty.. great features and performance with helio g90T

  • The white one

  • It is a terrific phone with amazing features and powerful Mediatek Helio G90T

  • K20 Pro way better than this Note 8 Pro if you are in a budget.

  • and more durable

  • Which phone that is mid range from oppo, vivo, xiaomi or realme has good quality?

  • Average battery, cheap IPS display, no name mediajunk cheapo heating processor?? Pro of what they say??

  • which color is best in this phone?

  • Yeah that's all true .

  • I bought that yesterday

  • You know that Chinese version comes out first, right? So the reviews are legit.

  • Is the china rom can change to global rom?

  • This phone hasn't been released yet so any reviews like this are fake! The "Redmi Note 8" whih was released in 2019, (not Pro model) has a different Processor also.

  • I saw many videos from different youtubers that RN 8 pro heating over 50°c while gameing. It is true or not??

  • Snapdragon 730g offer better stable performance with (8nm) better than this bullshit mediatrash .

  • just be grateful for what you have

  • This latest cellphone unit or Xiaomi Redmi K20 pro/Mi9T pro? Bombard me with opinions and in-sights.

  • I think usb c is faste

  • You're here so long, know MTK so much you say it's powerfull and has issues at the same time etc. and you don't know this? What's you next false question?

  • Usb c is better because 1 Faster data transfer 2 Faster charging 3 it is reversible 4 you can charge other devices with it

  • Very close to 845's performance, just slightly underneath.

  • usb C

  • have anyone bought it?? what is your experience with the phone? pros & cons

  • funny to see that you can spend more on a thing that value less in reality, SD is not an Apple A11 Bionic processor on which you give more money for it.. i stopped getting android updates on a lenovo phone with Snapdragon Processor in it..see..it primarily depends upon the Company to roll updates & not the processor quality or brand

  • i am in the same situation,.But, then i decided to go with Redmi..bcoz it has been in the market since a long time now, and getting better with time other reson is i didn't like the design & looks of color os..just my thought

  • which colour / varient has more premium looks??

  • Micro usb

  • Well a couple of corrections, Apps are optimized for arm architecture common for Qualcomm, Samsung, mediatek, apple, huawei, etc. G90T in this is far better than the 730g let alone 675. Also older mediatek chips were shit, I agree, but the newer lineup is good P60/70 and this is a brand new design. Although your deciding factor should be whether you want custom roms or not as miui is a joke.

  • Micro usb vs usb c which one is better please reply .

  • I say NO. Some sites have wrong specs. (sorry if 2 answers from me here)

  • this with a SD 675 and 6" and I would spend 350$ easily - like this, no thanks. Im just not into Mediatek processors. They may be fine, but how about long term? Most Apps are made to run on SD SOCs, not mediatek or exynos. If that changes, maybe I go for it...but then the screen is way too big.

  • how is the call quality and cellular reception?

  • Snapdragon 730 is more stable and efficient as it is built on 7 nm technology. I've used both mtk and Snapdragon and I found that Snapdragon processor are more stable for long term. Mtk slows down and starts lagging.

  • HFR is not yet supported with this device you should wait for the update

  • Waterdrop isn't a good idea, I have try waterdrop design and hide it as a bezel, yes it is bezel no more bezel-less! Battery is big enough if last night was I forgot charge my phone the next day I have to bring a power bank and the 200gram as well. That's glossy curved back cover isn't great and not my taste, it looks generics.

  • Nice, thanks!

  • Snapdragon 845 or 835

  • I think mediatek G90T more powerful...

  • Snapdragon 730g

  • Oh my god, this is such a big fail.. I was expecting for budget NFC phone for ages. And now weve got one on mediatek. Holy cow Xiaomi dropped the ball hard this time.. Get ready to see abandoned OS updates and crappy custom roms for this phone..

  • Which snapdragon proccesor can be compered with the proccesor in this mobile?

  • Lol i don't trust mediatek hahah

  • I prefer miui or funtouch

  • Fingerprint should have been side mounted

  • Which of their software do you prefer? MiUi or ColorOS? I have only tried one and its ColorOS, its not as bad as people claim it is... V-V (I also have tried other brands but not had a Xiaomi yet)

  • Or Mi 9 Lite ? After review though. I think Note 8 Pro isn't bad if you want its specs but what about that Android update and A70 not sure about camera quality for that price hmm.

  • Redmi note 8 pro? Or realme 5pro? Your thoughts? tia

  • Maybe there are some. But you seem to be facing some issues since you write comments using many nicknames. Nobody can take you seriously. Stop it it's weird.

  • Anututu Score 283.000 !!

  • 9T/K20 (and Pro), and Mi 9 don't have an SD card slot, otherwise would be perfect. Still wondering about A70 for its better display, but it has only version 3 of Gorilla Glass..

  • The phone just launched n u already knows it faces many problems?

  • Xiaomi k20 or mi 9, they are in the same price range but with way better specs.

  • it does:

  • This fone facing many issue Don't buy .

  • everything is not based on antutu score as they both are mid ranger and the gap is quite small (40,000 in daily usage can not be noticed), i think the x2 is better also if it's the same price.

  • i think this is true for the old mediatek, but since p60, p70 chipset and now g90t, it's catching up the snapdragon in term of that. from many people who bought oppo, vivo and realme many of their phones used mediatek p60/p70 chipset and don't have many issues

  • if you don't play much games and just want to have a great camera, NFC, headphone jack and battery in it's segment then go for note 8. It will be launch globally in this month so better pick up the global version

  • Does this phone support aptx/hd and ldac?

  • It's hard to answer this because Note 8 doesn't sell globally (so far) and may not support 4G in your country etc. Then simply Note 8 Pro is way faster, has better camera (right) and bit bigger screen (heavier) but I can't say if it gets Android 10 update.

  • Well. If you are money restricted then go for redmi note 8 pro. Alternatively Galaxy a70 will be fine for u if you got more money to spare. In general, I think they both have pretty specs that uniques them from each other. Good luck🤞🤞

  • Yes it's look like so

  • Let the price decide the choice

  • I am thorn between this phone and Galaxy A70. Any opinions|?

  • People say the phone heats up is that true

  • Redmi Note 8 Pro Google Camera not Supported?

  • Limited or none 4G support (depends on country and carrier). Other works. Then if you flash global ROM nothing else. (don't expect warranty) (Chinese ROM likely lacks some Google and bit more complicated to get rid of ads-I've never tried)

  • What would happen if i buy non-global 8 GB RAM version in Europe? Would It work SIM and so on?

  • They sell 8GB but not on global market (no such global version of the phone). It happens with the highest memory phones or so.

  • Mediatek helio g90t beast.

  • Am on 8GB and satisfied enough no lag for call of duty , real Racing 3 and pubg mobile

  • Probable my next phone ;)

  • Lol hahahah.

  • it's based on rumors, that's for sure. Always to denigrate and discredit Mediatek.

  • Hello. which one to buy? note 8 pro or note 8? As I compare here their specifications are almost the same. Pls give me your recommendations. For me as I am not a technology person, the notable difference is in their cameras))) but note 8 is 100 dollars cheaper than note 8 pro

  • When the phones were advertising didn't they mentioned that the note 8 pro would come with 8gb memory?

  • Where did they find the parts for the DAC and headphone amplifier? In the landfill? They phone would have been perfect with a decent audio DAC/amplifier

  • hi, can you back this statement? do u have experience with newer mediatek chip? or you just heard a rumour??

  • SD 660 is moderately power full but G90T is gaming based SoC so is will heat but company provides liquid cooling so I think that it will control the heat ( at least not lead to go beyond 45°C )

  • Nice price information in specs (by) GSMA! Hopefully this will decrease people's general confusion about the price. :) (was pretty annoying to discuss :( ) P.S. Global network...

  • Mediatek is not good for long term use if you are a heavy gaming user. For a gamer ,After 5-8 months your phone you may face issues like fast battery drain, increase in lag in gaming, heating etc.and in some cases processor will be dead within 1.5-2 years.

  • Are you so credulous to divert your interest in such a powerful smartphone, because someone wrongly persuaded you to buy this phone ??? What also say that notices no failure in the rendering of 3D games ??? Why can not you check out the reviews and reviews on various youtube sites and channels that have no part and decide for yourself ??? As long as a SOC plays PUBG in maximum configuration and plays FORTNITE fluidly and without problems, what do you still want ??? So what you have to understand is that even if several smartphones can play heavy games, there are smartphones ideally dedicated for this as ASUS ROG PHONE or BLACK SHARK XIAOMI.

  • Oh really...i was about to buy this device. Thanks for the information. Now I change my mind.

  • Pls dont buy if you gamers... I just play mobile legend the true is ..not smooth at all frame rate drop a bit belive me even snapdragon 710 btter than this chip. Rubbish for gaming other thn tht it was just ok for midrange

  • The problem is that he did not agree that the Kirin 810 is better than the Helio G90T. And if I gave him arguments to show that he was wrong, is there a problem compared ??? It's more up to me to ask you: What's your problem with my answer, my dear?

  • Nah i wouldve chose this mediatek rather than snapdragon This thing can run fortnite on high settings. Which means its not slow. Its really fast tbh. Mediatek isnt that trash anyways

  • I wll use note 7 if i upgrade to 8 pro it worth it

  • That's biased mentality mediatek had come around and are attempting changes to the ways of their approch on how things are done, give them time I'm sure well see amazing results.

  • Just Read that it has Mediatek Processor and all the enthu went down :-( buy only phone if it is Qualcomm processor

  • This hh suppose to be mid range, what im concern vs realme5 that its poor yellowish in taking video. Can we use gcam on mtk? Also bout bootloader has been confirm being released by xiaomi. Overall rn8p much better in feature, but this phone hard to get due to flash sale style.

  • yes Kirin810 is higher score but g90t is not that far. so what's the big deal? lmaoo... feeling you know all this sht alone by urself? "Gaming is gaming.. G90T is not an ordinary mediatek chipset that you knew before... n00b

  • The G90T manage to beat the 712 just for 2 fps how beat the 730G? which is 25% powerful and more efficient thanks its 8nm process.

  • How long this phone gonna be still good for gaming until its not gonna have good fps? Compare huawei nova 5t or mi 9t pro

  • I love the phone, with is features, am very happy to see mediatak was able to develop this type processor, but I can't use it, is too big by size, I will be very inconvenient, the size of note 7 pro is ok.

  • When Redmi Note 8 Pro will launch in india?????

  • No no no, not at all !!! The Kirin 810 is better than the Helio G90T, certainly not with a big margin, but still exceeds it. Moreover besides Benchmarks that can confirm you this, TL Lee CEO Mediatek, in an interview confirmed that. So you're wrong, my dear.

  • Woeh! just read the gsmarena review and wow the Note 8 Pro did better than expected, benchmark test showed spectacular result compared with its close competitor Realme XT, Xiaomi sweept the floor with the latter with every test performed, KUDOS Xiaomi you should be proud with your work.

  • You know... Realme X2 is ticking a SD730G right? Its a slow poke compared to Helio G90T. Rockin 40,000 more points than the SD730G. Based on the Antutu Score, so how can it challenge the top chipset which is Helio G90T?

  • Uhuh., and where do you based that assumption?

  • To see is to believe, give it time boys.

  • Trust on the brand you want, better yet if you have friends that have bought the Note 8 Pro and XT you ask them, that's firsthand experiece to help you make that purchase decision.

  • Well looking at the specs sheet your misunderstood in some areas Note 8 Pro beats XT while the advanteges you mention on XT are miniscule.

  • Don't be a stereo type just because past mediatek chips fail your expectations don't mean that g90t will follow in their wake?, give the new chip some time maybe this one could be a winner.

  • Pttt.. are you joking?, a slow poke is better than a top 10 leading chip? Read antutu results and compare, lets see whose better. I'd say XT is left in nano meter dust by the Note 8 Pro!

  • Many people have remained in their prejudices and prior to Mediatek, but you must know the changes and evolve; so instead of being sloppy without being thoughtful, why do not you make a cold and objective observation about this RN8 Pro and its processor? instead of all the time stigmatize Mediatek because of its past, and why always rely on propaganda instead of judging by your own eyes. For those who criticize wrongly and wrongly without foundation; do you know that Mediatek has released kernel source code for this Redmi Note 8 Pro ??? Yes! the source codes of the kernel have been released and Xiaomi has already made them available, if you were still ignorant about it. For the problems of overheating that some foolish and sour like to brandish so high; know that the Helio g90t does not overheat as some people want to believe. Any phone subjected to huge loads of work will always heat up and in the case of this processor the heater is very correct and normal for extreme loads. In terms of stress test, the gravure g90t has the same results as Snapdragon 845 for example, but when it's Snapdragon it does not shock anyone! I strongly recommend that you consult the TECHTABLETS channel on Youtube who has performed the test of this device (because its test is realistic and impartial in terms of heating) and for a complete and impartial review of this phone, consult the DEVICE SPECIFICATION's tests, while waiting for GSMarena's review. Thank You all.

  • Let me ask you some trivial and trivial questions: Do you know of an electronic device that does not emit heat when working? - No! such a device does not exist! Does the heat release of a device depend on the workload of the device? - Certainly yes! because a device that works more will release more heat too! Now is the release of heat due to a very high workload controllable? - Yes! this is also the case of several well-designed devices without manufacturing defect! Well, what about the heating of the Redmi Note 8 Pro then ??? - The heating of the Redmi Note 8 Pro is just correct, normal and without any abnormality depending on the workload that is submitted to the processor! So whether it's in resource-hungry 3D games, whether it's a long video or photography session, whether it's a long time of video playback or internet surfing, the Redmi Note 8 Pro does not heat up abnormally. That's the truth !!! Thank You!!!

  • Thanks for your response,

  • Good Idea, you right; But I think Realme 5 pro is better then this.MTK Helio G90T is very good gaming chipset but it falls behind SD712 because MTK Chipsets are not a long time performer and it will be start lagging after day by day usage.....

  • Realme XT is better; PROS: [1]Amoled display [2]in display fingerprint sensor [3]64MP Quad camera [4]SD712 (which is better then MTK chipsets) [5]20WATT VOOC3.0 fast charger in the box(RN8P also supports fast charging but it has only 18watt) CONS: NOTHING......

  • realme xt is better,,,without any doubt....

  • Between the Redmi note 8 pro and realme xt, which is better in terms of performance and heat management. Plus what are the pros and cons between global and Chinese ROM

  • I am planning to buy this phone but saw you guys suggesting Realme 5 I'm just planning to have this as my temporary phone till Snapdragon 865 goes out Not a bad idea right

  • mediatek chipset is much better than snapdragon.

  • After the full review is completed....

  • Buy Realme 5 pro because Mediatek chipsets are not right for long term use and they will have laging problem after day by day usage....

  • Realme 5 pro is better....

  • Go for Realme 5 pro....

  • Get realme 5 pro because you can flash any rom. Note 8 pro won't have any major support for roms because it's got mtk chip.

  • Plz guide me in choosing among redmi note 8 pro & real me 5pro which device I buy.,.,...?

  • i have seen actual users say the heating issue is blown out of proportion. it's not what they say it is. maybe SOME users had heating issues but that's not a main problem.

  • when the battery endurance will add on gsmarena.com

  • The shorter device's lifetime I get on a smartphone with Mediatek's soc was 3 years... And the smartphone died because of Nand storage, not soc... I used mt6577 (I bought this one in 2012 and it still works even if I don't use it anymore), mt6592 (used during 1.5 years, I must admit I don't know what it became after that), mt6752 (out of order, used by me during 1.5years and give to my mother for 1.5years more), X20 (3.5years old, still used by my nephew)... Now I use : - Helio P60 for 14 months (smartphone). - mt8176 for around 2 years (pad) - and a dvd/DivX player with mt1389 since........14 years!!!! All the devices came from tiny brands, except the one with P60 (from Oppo)

  • Yes, near the front camera

  • does it have a notification led or light?

  • I Will choose Realme X2..Because Redmi Note 8 pro is not compatetor of Realme X2.Realme X2 is much much better...Realme 5 pro and Realme XT is the true compatetor Redmi Note 8 pro.....

  • 1 year life for mediatek chips is bullshit. i have redmi note 4 mediatek for about 3 years and its still working good. but heating issue is real and may bother you if u want to play games. maybe rn8 pro be better in this field because it has 12nm cpu and cooling system. rn4 has 20nm cpu and no cooling

  • BTW, i should add, The iphone 11 is a lcd screen with 720p resolution it cost $800! This phone is WAY better!

  • xiaomi first makes it with mediatek to earn enought money from cheap mediatek after a while..maybe next year they will release it with snapdragon, amoled, 64mp cam but until that day, realme in access, everything you wanna find in next rumor model Rn8T, NOW in REALME X2

  • i choose REALME X2 defenitely todays realme do good jub. regulary update. way to unlock bootloader. i cant wait until RUMORED RN8T SO I CHOOSE X2 , WITHOUT ANY QUESTION

  • Yes, it does.

  • Please review the 4G bands. Mi Global site reveals more bands supported

  • its an LCD screen, that's why,

  • is phone heat issue still at thing, or has it been fixed with an update? and anyone with a mediatek chip, can confirm that the chip set "life" last more than 1 year before breaking down??? this is the only reason preventing me buying this phone.

  • does this phone support NFC Google Pay? Thanx

  • hi friends :) any one who purchased this [hone...plz do let us know Redmi Note 8 Pro ' pros & cons' thank you

  • I have redmi note 7 ,redmi note 8 pro is worth it to update

  • China ROM phone is cheap because of language used in the phone so as compability of its modem to your countries network providers, in some country China ROM is equivalent to an expensive paper weight due to lack of supported bands.

  • Majority of the answer would all come down to the preffered brand specs don't matter, trust on the brand is the biggest factor that people buy certain phones.

  • I've heard that the screen is dim under direct sunlight. Is it true?

  • What are the different versions (not just 6gb vs 8gb ram)? On Ali-express i see the price difference of around 20 bucks cheaper for CN versions with the same specs. Can anyone provide any details on this?

  • & 30W fastcharge...VS...18W fastcharge

  • which one u choose & why? same price REALME X2 vs RN8 PRO super amoled...VS...ips sd730g(8nm)...VS...mt helio g90t(12nm) 32mp selfie...VS...20mp selfie indisplay finger...VS...rear finger dedicated sd card...VS...share with sim2 no infrared...VS...infrared(there is people even doesn't care to it) 158.7mm...VS...161.4mm 4000mah...VS...4500mah

  • Does it support Apt-X

  • when gsmarena will review redmi note 8 pro?

  • The phone comes natively in the box with Android 9 (Pie). As for whether it will evolve for Android 10, well, I'll probably say yes! since Xiaomi has downloaded Kernel source codes based on Mediatek and has already made them available. So, we can expect an update for Android 10, soon.

  • Please, my dear, when you say "him" what are you talking about, since I can not quite understand your question. Be clear, please. If you are talking about the possibility of implementing a custom port, since the Mediatek Kernel sources for RN8 Pro are already available, yes! you can already develop these custom ports. I hope I understand your question. Thank you

  • Hi so i am android programmer will i be able to program quietly with him just like for testing in android studio?

  • Kernel source codes for Mediatek-based Redmi Note 8 Pro are currently available, and Xiaomi has released them. So developers can now develop custom ports. So it is quite possible that the snags of the gcam, can install the gcam on this Redmi Note 8 Pro equipped with this prodigious processor Helio G90t, in the days that follow according to the developers implement it quickly. I strongly believe that many will have a fresh look at MEDIATEK with this powerful new processor.

  • Yes! there is a notification LED on the top of the screen, next to the camera. She has only one color (white).

  • Notification led ?

  • I think Redmi Note 8's is available too...I don't remember the codename to find it. But it's manufacturers' job, not Qualcomm's or Mediatek's...manufacters are the only one who can as they have all modules (for exemple, Mediatek doesn't build the touchscreen and haven't the related code...Xiaomi should) Xiaomi already done for Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A. Companies like Oppo, Realme or Nokia released some with Mediatek's soc too.

  • Thank you for the precision I failed to make on the availability of some Kernel source codes released by Mediatek. Effectively, Mediatek has released Kernel source codes for Redmi Note 8 Pro, but except the Kernel source codes of the touch screen are not yet available at the moment. Anyway it's also worth mentioning that currently the Kernel source code for Redmi Note 8 "Standard" based on Snapdragon is not available yet, but knowing the diligence of Qualcomm to make them public, we know that it does not will not wait to come in the next. So hopefully the Kernel source code for Redmi Note 8 Pro based on Mediatek Helio G90t will be totally and completely available in the coming days. Thank you

  • sar level on gsmarena website SAR EU 0.38 W/kg (head) 0.80 W/kg (body), but on the official website xiomi redmi note 8 pro Head: 0.997 W/kg Body: 1.466 W/kg. what information is true?

  • Some devices with Mediatek's soc have GCam custom ports. It's the case of Redmi 6, 6A and some Realme devices. About closes sources, things change a little, parts of Redmi Note 8 Pro are there :

  • When it will available on flipkart?

  • No! you are mistaken my dear. the SIM compartment is a hybrid compartment: If you want to reassure yourself, check out the features section of this smartphone on GSMArena. Thank you

  • Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro has 3 card slots, two for SIM cards and other for memory card.

  • Do the note 8 pro support Android 10.0

  • The Xiaomi REDMI NOTE 8 PRO is the real worthy successor of the Redmi Note 5 Ai Dual Camera and the evolution of the Redmi Rate 7 Pro by Excellence !!!

  • Absolutely !!! and that's exactly why I say it's a huge asset for this phone. Thank you

  • Oh, the comparison does not even hold! the photos of the RN8 pro have a better rendering than those of the standard RN8, in terms of dynamic range, detail of the textures, quality of exposure, fidelity of color, control of the digital noise. In addition to recommending you to check camera tests on youtube, you should also know that the Helio g90t of the RN8 Pro has a triple image processing processor unlike the SD 665 of the RN8 standard which has only two, so in image processing quality term the RN8 Pro is preferable to the standard RN8. For the compatibility with Google camera, only the standard RN8 is compatible because it has a Snapdragon processor, which is not the case of the RN8 pro which is equipped with the g90t of MEDIATEK, which is particularly closed release source codes of kernel. So only the standard RN8 is compatible with the gcam. Thank you.

  • Shame ??? I don't understand,my dear.

  • Thanks for the answer. Shame :(

  • Just go Samsung or Nokia

  • It's one SIM CARD and an another (Second) SIM CARD,or one SIM CARD and one SD card.

  • Guys, is it 2 sim cards and a Sd card or 1 sim card and either a 2nd simcard or an sd card thanks!

  • I can't decide between Note 8 pro and Note 8, is selfie camera really that different 13vs20MP. Also will google camera work on them ?

  • Its having liquid cool technology

  • Do not believe at all, all those who want to harmfully persuade you not to buy this smartphone because false problems of overheating that actually do not exist. Because it is bad propaganda against MEDIATEK and it is harmful and harmful such a way of doing things, instead of exposing the truth in an impartial and fair way, to enlighten people to make unbiased choices. During long sessions of 3D games, it certainly heats, but it heats normally like any other phone that has been used intensively, which is normal and is not alarming, unlike some who want to inculcate the opposite in the general opinion, as well as discouraging several people yet enjoying this smartphone. MEDIATEK has a not very glorious past with its processors that have put off a lot and disappointed a lot of people, it's true; It's also true that, unlike Qualcomm, developer support by releasing Kernel source code is the biggest drawback of this brand. Only things change and especially the performance aspect, frankly this HELIO G90T team that RN8 Pro is powerfully powerful and looks great in its potential and general capabilities. So be cold and lucid in your consideration for this Redmi Note 8 Pro and its G90T Helio Processor without being influenced by any denigration notices whatsoever. THANK YOU

  • Is there any PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation) detected ?

  • Sorry I'm no a native english speaker, I mean sustained load, I saw many videos on youtube where the G90T performs better on emulators the first minutes but then the FPS drops under the level of the 730.

  • Well, I obviously agree with you that the two processors are literally nearly identical in almost every compartment. Only if you rely on the lithography, well, I will tell you that, as seen your observation is a bit biased, because the practical tests clearly show that the Helio G90T performs overall better than the SD 730g. And even when we look at the benchmark numbers on each domain taken one by one, we can see that on AnTuTu, for example, Hélio G90T is better on the GPU part, on the CPU part, and on the "memory" part, it is not There is only the UX part where the SD 730g has a slight advantage; this shows how much the Hélio g90t is really ahead of this SD 730G. And even if Snapdragons offer better support for developers, it must be said that the advantage with XIAOMI is that their "fork" does not depend at all on the Android system to evolve in terms of the implementation of certain features And personally I find the interface of Xiaomi is beautiful both in fluidity in design and ergonomics. Now for people who love alternative roms to MIUI I understand that MEDIATEK being retaining the distribution of Kernel source codes, this is highly displeasing to the hacking community, except that it must be assumed that almost all smartphone users do not care about custom-made roms and therefore, use the phone as it comes out of the factory and are satisfied and satisfied with OTA updates offered by the manufacturers, but provided that the characteristics of the smartphone suits them without the problem suffers from this or that problem in particular. So, my analysis being purely based on the smartphone and the performance of its processor, for the Puritan that I am not embarassed with the flashages of custom roms, this RN8 pro is simply awesome! and would suit the majority of users of this Smartphone segment to the economic budget, with the advantage of offering high-end performance. For me, here is the Reality, without being partisan of this or that manufacturer or manufacturer. THANK YOU

  • What do you call sustains charges, please??? I like to know.

  • Men, if a phone cannot sustain a charge over its competitor isn't better, and the extra functions founds on the G90T are no better that the ones founds in the 730G.

  • I agree that in terms of lithography, 4 nm gap is already a lot. But we must still be objective and lucid in the general appreciation of the processor instead of just dwell on a single aspect, because it must be said that the CPU and the GPU are really good and much better than those of the SD 730G and even if we want to discredit the benchmarks, there are performance comparison tests on Youtube that confirm the benefits of the Helio G90T as being better than those of the SD 730G. Me, I freeze on an analysis devoid of preference and prejudice, and by global observation and given the technological advantages that this processor offers and well, for me I strongly recommend it.

  • This list is missing kirin 990 kirin 980 exynos 9820 and exynos 9825

  • The G90T is already throttling at 730 sublevels and on silicon each mm matters but isn't 2mm is 4mm due 730 is 8nm.

  • Will it heat on smooth+extreme??

  • Note

  • Mediatek LoL. Won't buy and won't recommend others to buy. Even xiaomi won't provide latest android update to its mediatek based devices. They just bump only MIUI versions. This phone is a disgrace to Note series. Hope they provide snapdragon based version to International and Indian customers.

  • Things are changing and MEDIATEK is evolving. While they have a pretty stained on their SOC, but consulting lucidly and coldly all the potential of the Helio G90T, while referring to the benchmark test, you must realize that MEDIATEK has made a prodigious masterpiece on this processor compared to direct competition, including QUALCOMM's SNAPDRAGON.

  • I propose that you wait for the battery endurance test, which will be released when GSMarena magazine is published this week, on the RN8 pro. And if the RN8 PRO has a better autonomy than the MI 9T, then choose the RN8 pro ...

  • redmi note 8pro or mi9t ?

  • I agree to approve everything you say. I think that many are more subject to propaganda than to make an objective, lucid and cold analysis. This processor is much better than the SD 835, which is already famous. Now when we see how much it beats all midrange from Qualcomm, including all the processors of the 7xx series, and what about ??? - Just Ovations to you MEDIATEK for this powerful processor worthy of a high-end Qualcomm!

  • The XIAOMI Redmi Note 8 Pro does not suffer any problem overheating unlike the whimsical propaganda that people want to believe in the opinion.De fact technically it is better than all SNAPDRAGON 7xx series and this , no detour. Why the fineness of engraving is 12nm, frankly should you be outraged for 2nm more than it has compared to a 10nm? -No! you should not; Especially that such a lithography for games is quite good elsewhere in terms of energy saving, even if not really the ideal (but here too, for me it's mixed). In terms of ranking processor performance, with respect to Qualcomm and Kirin Hisilicon here is what it is: 1) SD 855+; 2) SD 855; 3) SD 845; 4) Kirin 810; 5) Helio G90T (RN8Pro); 6) SD 730G; 7) SD 730; 8) SD 712; ... And then, you must realize that tarnishing on long games must necessarily heat any game device: So do not come "lobotomize" people because of the heats the RN8 Pro, as if the other devices did not heat up, because it must be said overheating on RN8 pro is good and no particular drama like any other good smartphone with good thermal management in long sessions of 3D games. And having a liquid cooling chamber is not at all an inconvenience or a disaster but rather an asset and a big advantage. Those who criticize the Redmi Note 8 pro because of its cooling system, why do not they pour their ugly heat on the HUAWEI MATE 20 PRO which also has a liquid cooling chamber ???

  • Very high jump over the SD675 used on Note 7 Pro... Better GPU (about twice) Better AI ISP able to use multiframe noise reduction in 64MPixels (even SD855 can't over 48MP Even TSMC's 12nm process isn't less good compare to Samsung's 11nm Xiaomi choose UFS storage on Note 8 Pro when 7 Pro used eMMC (even if SD675 can use UFS) Plus competion against Qualcomm is something important to avoid monopoly. 8 isn't a real upgrade over 7 When 8 Pro is one over 7 Pro... Simply, emulators devs had to make some hard work to let their apps work properly on Mali

  • What's wrong with Mediatek chips ? even Samsung, use Mediatek Chips.

  • Redmi note 8t???

  • this is best phone , my redmi note 8 pro has 282000 antutu score

  • Mediatek? Really? Xiaomi... What have you done? What were you thinking?

  • So, we have a group in the Philippines about this phone. There is no negative feedback at all and people have been praising its battery life.

  • I will consider the rumored RN8T with SD730G chipset vs mi 9t.

  • if you mean you take it under the shower, no you cant take any xiaomi phones but for rainy waters there are some solution. for example i bought a pocophone and i use a ringke case on it. you can buy any xiaomi phones and then buy a case for it so you can use it in rainy days or even at bathroom but yet again you cant take them under the shower

  • sar values are wrong, they are different on their official website

  • First time Xiaomi buyer here, I've just ordered a Xiaomi Mi 9 Lite after doing loads of research but now I'm considering canceling my order and swapping out for a Xiaomi Note 8 Pro because I've just realised it has splash proof coating, rubber seals and reinforced corners. I'm stuck as what to do, I feel like having a splash proof phone is important for me, I watched a video of a guy literally giving it a bath and didn't see any damage. I often tend to get my phone wet, I live in England it rains a lot here and I like to change my music with mid way through the shower. I'm not too bothered about the over heating issues with the Note 8 Pro right now because I won't be using it do things like play PUBG on ultra high settings. Do I sacrifice the Mi 9 Lite's Super Amoled display, better camera, and nicer design for the bigger battery and waterproof features on the 8 Pro? Any input massively appreciated

  • Helio g90t have 800mhz, sd 855 have 700hmz Mediatek company said their chipset is for flagship!! DABEAST !!! I HAVE ONE SO SATISFIED BETTER THAN NOVA 5T ! ! !

  • redmi note 8T must come with SD735 + AMOLED to completely beat REALME X2

  • Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro Price in India. Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro smartphone price in India is likely to be Rs 14,090. Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro is speculated to be launched in the country on October 3, 2019 (Expected).

  • Speed test doesn't measure the performance . And huawei beats xiaomi in qpeed test that's because of their new file system

  • Just en benchmark, then throttles down unto 730 sub levels.

  • true

  • by the email from xiaomi Europe support i get some days ago the global version dont gonna have sound jack 3.5 and no amoled so for me i gonna start to used OPPO phone in the near future and why you the rest around the world dont should used Huewei or honor its for they used back door in they phones processor..

  • Man there's no arguing that mtk chips aren't as efficient and consistent as SD chips. Mtk GPUs aren't capable enough like adrenos. It's like intel vs AMD. While AMD has higher clock speed and everything but it's not as consistent as intel.

  • 9X with kirin810 have more speed than rn8 pro with g90t check youtube kill g90t completetly

  • This is great chip make more phones with helio g90t soc

  • bring note 8t with 5000mah & under 158mm tall

  • What you think about power consumption on mt6752 is wrong... The reason is simple : mt6752 can run a single core alone (even the older mt6592 was able too), when SD615 makes them run 4 by 4...the same for 616 and 617. Mediatek's Corepilot was far better than Qualcomm's core management. Even GPU was a little better on mt6752. Mt6732's GPU totally destroy SD410's old Adreno 3 and with 4 cores is as fast as SD615 with 8! About modem, of course, not most but all smartphones use Qualcomm patents...because it's standard essentiel patents (CDMA and LTE for exemple), no choice, manufacturers have to pay...that's the problem : bad regulation of fees...fees too high, manufacturers forced to pay, rebates on soc...nvidia's, intel's, Texas instruments, broadcom's, St-microelectronics, Via's smartphones soc's death... And without licence agreement, LG never release their soc (Nuclun, Nuclun 2), see district of California's décision (FTC vs Qualcomm) Nevertheless, there's a huge difference between theorical bandwidth and real use... My Oppo A3 with Helio P60 (LTE cat 7), gets most time better LTE speed (real mesures) than a Xiaomi Mi A2 with SD660 (LTE cat 12) You've got even some brands who cut antennas costs. For exemple Nokia 7 Plus is only Cat 6 when his Snapdragon 660 is Cat 12...have you ever seen someone complain about internet speed on Nokia 7 Plus?

  • Mediatek G90T was said to be better than sd730/exynos 9610. You'll check yourself in youtube

  • Its way more better than sd730. Just watch at youtube.

  • Maybe because it was very power hungry? Because the Mt6752 had 8 cores all at 1.7ghz and the 615 4x1.7ghz and other 4x1ghz, it means that with light tasks the Mt6752 consumed a monstrosity,, also Mediatek was really slow delivering binaries updates to OEMs but just before OEMs payed the mediatek feed for new updated binaries, (unlike qualcomm) yes not only qualcomm lives of feeds. In addition, the qualcomm modems were and are far superior, almost all the modems in the market have somehow patents of their technology, Mediatek on the other hand, had modems that caused strangulation in their chips when they were used. Or the same with the GPUs but this is not exactly the fault of mediatek since Kirin and exynos also use Mali, their architecture is not efficient requiring several cores and high frequencies to reach the competition what in long sections meant thermal strangulation. I do not say that mediatek does not have chips that give results, the problem is that manufacturers such as Xiaomi and Oppo put snapdragons on phones with prices almost equal to mediatek models, so even if the difference is only 15% if you pay the same, Why not choose the most powerful? Mediatek has improved a lot, who has tried his 65xx series knows what I am saying but they still have a way to go, so that users who used the 65xx forget it and on issues of energy efficiency.

  • No no mtk g90 is better than sd710,730 Check out beanchmark score

  • does it have hide notch ability?

  • price 260€ where i live

  • Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro It has a parfect phone, But it is mediatek helio G90T it's not parfect, It has parfect to be Sanapdragon 712/730 Expect ?

  • P22 is a very interresant one, it's sad to see Redmi 6 uses a 32bits system on it (Nokia 3.1 Plus uses 64bits with the same soc)...but his target is SD450, not even SD625 P60 is the one I use yet...very very good one I think P90 is a good one too, even if I never test any...ISP and AI are better than SD710, but GPU is a little weaker. Able to use Zero shutter delay with 48MPixels when 710 and 730 can't. I think P65 is interressant too...this one is able to use Multiframe Noise reduction with 48MPixels. All the device released with 48MP and SD665 (with MFNR limited to 25MP!!!!) like Redmi Note 8 (non Pro) should technically use P65. To save costs, Mediatek cut UFS support on P65 (Note 7, 7 Pro, 8 uses eMMc by the way) but if seems it's not enough to fight Qualcomm's taxes! It's very hard to make good products with cheaper price. Especially when you have to make profits and when your competitor needn't because he makes all his awesome profits with licence fees (up to 600% profits for exemple in 2016, that's crazy...the same year, profits on products were around 15%) In the past, you've got Helio X30, 10nm like competitors, a good one, maybe not as good as SD835, but close, using the same but a little tinier GPU iPhone used...no success. Mt6752 was older, his competitor was SD615. SD615 was ridiculous compare to mt6752...Qualcomm sold many! The same with mt6732 compare to SD410! There's a huge injustice in this market...but post people doesn't care.

  • He is speaking about the chips no Xiaomi in general.

  • Mediatek admits that they are working to speed up binaries updates, so yes half of the blame is for mediatek, also Nokia 5.1 after almost 2 years still with roms in xda website.

  • Even with those complaints we cannot deny the superiority of the qualcomm chips. I think that the only chip that beat its qualcomm counterpart is the p60 against the SD660, the p60 was faster, both GPU and CPU without thermal throttling and according to notebookcheck with less consumption otherwise other mediatek chips has several limitations: the p20, p22 under way low than the 625 and the p25 just at the same level but with higher power consumption, the same with the p35 vs 636. The mayor problems comes when brands like Xiaomi sells snapdragon chips at the same price that mediatek varians.

  • False, most uses Mediatek tough the majority of phone makers does not make a single update post the release of their device...

  • You're welcome More than accepted ;-) English isn't my native langage too... I know justice reasons aren't the only ones too. One other reason, is bad opinion about Mediatek...some people even still think GPS is bad. The more major companies get some of their soc, the more we will get sources. This Note 8 Pro is really a big step for Mediatek in term of volume.

  • Those are other reasons why Qualcomm was chosen by other manufacturers. You pointing those out does not invalidate my point about Qualcomm being preferred due to their source-code releases (this is just one of the reason why). My point is that, the reason of as to why manufacturers chose Qualcomm is not limited to my own statement. If my previous statement made you think that the source code is the "only reason" then kindly accept my apology. I'm not a native English speaker/writer.

  • Lee's statement is true. It is a standard to release the Source Code for the the device's current OS, otherwise, no phone manufacturer will buy any MTK SoC. The question would be about the succeeding major Android iteration. Ask justice? They don't. If they can't secure a free source code, they just opt to not update the phone. Again, this is due to the fact that MTK sell their source code instead of giving it for free in which it should. Chinese manufacturers won't prosecute MTK, they don't care, Chinese government don't care. Kernel sources about the touchscreen is of Xiaomi's own problem. As long as the source code is released, the public can do whatever they want. The main take here is that, having source code now is a standard, MTK release that for the manufacturer for their phone to work, the succeeding Android iterations would be the main problem.

  • Reasons why major manufacturers use Qualcomm could be Here : Or here : Or here : In the first link, page 45, you've got an exemple of how Qualcomm forced LG Electronics to buy them 85% of their soc These are justice decisions (despite some lobbying and protections inside some high district of justice) not spreaded rumors on internet. Don't tell me Qualcomm's market share is link to source code, most smartphones owners don't care about custom rom and updates! And courthouses around the world find other explications

  • TL Lee said Mediatek releases their source code to their customers (the manufacturers). In my opinion, it's the case... Otherwise, tell me how manufacturers can release their Rom if they don't have soc sources? This reason seems to be enough? Don't you think so? And tell me why manufacturers doesn't ask justice to force Mediatek to do? Today, there are not a single condamnation against Mediatek about GPL/GNU. According to public idea, it can be easy for manufacturers to cut costs on their devs team for Mediatek's Rom...people will blame Mediatek. But, true, Mediatek should change their mind and open themself a GitHub with all their sources...then people won't complain anymore...or find something else against Mediatek instead of focusing on Qualcomm commercial behavior. Today Kernel sources problem about Note 8 Pro seems to be Touchscreen... How can Mediatek be faulty about that? But at least, Google had a great Idea with GSI...

  • Mediatek's violation with the GPL is not about releasing its source code. It's about releasing source code to the manufacturers with the price which was supposedly FREE. Nokia mainly uses Android One and Android One just works, this is mainly due to Google's own efforts to make their OS as universal as possible. Google's Project Treble is made to just work even with MTK SoC without kernel source code so this effort were mainly by Google and NOT MTK. Third party custom skinned Android needs kernel source code in advance for them to have timely update, MTK wants to exploit this and give manufacturers a charge for what's supposedly free, we're talking about millions of USD here and not just pennies. That's why major manufacturers uses Snapdragon for most of their smartphones, even Nokia. All that MTK need is to comply with GPL and if they don't then it's not the phone manufacturer's fault.

  • But you can find Kernel sources for almost every Mediatek's soc... Problem often come from other vendors parts. It seems that the missing part on Note 8 is touchscreen...Mediatek can't be faulty for touchscreen part. The only one who have all the sources for a device is OEM. That's why it's the only one who can released full sources. And about Android Go, it's no longer Google who release update, it's OEM... Nokia has many other Mediatek soc....includind Helio P60, a more recent good midrange

  • Its can use long-lasting. Its can better choice for this phone (Mediatek Chipset). Please give ditails review. I am like this phone but iam concern about long term use. please give a details review.

  • Your example is somewhat backwards. It is a norm for a midrange to catch-up to the flagships after 2 years of development. What I previously meant was that if the user expects a very noticeable performance increase (non-placebo), then he/she should opt for a flagship SoC for the new phone from a midrange (SD660) that he/she already has.

  • Your point of comparison is only limited to a niche market. Nokia 1 is an Android Go device which Android and Mediatek has collaborated with for development just recently. There were only a handful of Mediatek SoC under Android Go platform. Also check the release date: MT6737 platform was released around 2016. Nokia 1 was released around 2018. Given their collaboration for the Android Go and the release date for the phone, it is clear that Nokia 1 should receive up to Android 10 major update as the phone was released only last year. This is one way for MTK SoC to have better OS support but not all of their SoC were released under a special collaboration with Android using an SoC that was pretty-much considered outdated. If you want better MTK and Android OS support? Choose Android Go that uses a 2 year old SoC but since we're in a midrange phone with MTK's latest SoC designed for gaming, I bet if you consider buying the Redmi Note 8 pro that you won't even consider buying the Android Go device just so you can have consistent Android Go update. To answer your question directly: "Was it Mediatek's fault?" I would say, YES, unless they changed their policy for the better that I never knew. Mediatek's issue with their own policies regarding open-source software were already talked a lot for years. If you are oblivious of such malpractices then you should read about those first before making an argument with a "cherry-picked" product just to prove a point.

  • I hope I'm wrong but this probably isn't going to be a good device if you like custom ROMs. MediaTek devices tend to have tumbleweed forums on XDA. Still, it's the Note series and that's pretty popular so I could be wrong. Even with that larger battery I think the slightly more expensive K20 is going to be a better buy. It may have no MicroSD and a smaller, albeit AMOLED screen but it'll probably end up having better SOTs and it already has custom ROMs.

  • Beat the 730 just the first 10 minutes then, get heavy throttle until 730 sub levels.

  • Nokia = Impressive.

  • No snapdragon chip? What?

  • And beats SD730 and even some SD845 on speedtests...not bad! Cortex A76 are only clocked at 2.05ghz on G90T They're clocked at 2.27ghz on Kirin 810 It's normal to see Kirin 810 win And clocked at 2.2ghz on SD730 as Kryo 4x0 Gold are Cortex A76 Sd845 uses Cortex A75 (Kryo 3x0 Gold) but at higher frequencies Mediatek made a very good job in term of speed

  • The question is : "is it Mediatek's fault?" When you see how Nokia is able to update their devices, this is a real question! Even their cheaper phone, Nokia 1, released with Android 8.1, will receive Android 10... Nokia 1's soc is mt6737. Mt6737 was released with...Android 6.0!

  • I had iPhone 6s when I get Xiaomi with SD 660. So I can tell u that difference between mid-ranges and flagships are very little in speed, graphics is another story...

  • Cool features along with helio g90t... gaming is too good

  • Really amazing features paired with helio g90t

  • according to benchmark, helio g90t perform similar to sd730.

  • i have red mi note7. it is wonderful.. both cameras are great..front and back. high speed. surly the not 8 is better that the pri versions. don't waste ur money with the funny brands xiomi is good choice for the low price. good luck xiomi

  • A large screen, strong processor (especially graphics,), card slot and headphone jack? This is everything I want in one package. This thing should really be the black shark lite by the way it performs.

  • They've gotten better since then. The Redmi K20 Pro just received Android 10!

  • Honor play or redmi note 8 pro

  • great spec n cheap price thn other thts verryyy niceee... hpe xiaomi can make flip camera like zenfone 6z but in midrange spec n flgship..but use flip 3 or 4 lens camera battery give higher 5000-6000mah++ n give 18/20w ++ fst chrge

  • I once made a mistake and bought Redmi Note 4 MTK and never again. The phone was (and still is) decent, but it's stuck on Android 6.

  • So what ? This is true and no news, K810 is little faster. It is one of the features when choosing a phone, nothing less or more. You work for H ? LOL

  • redmi note 8 pro with helio g90t FAIL IN SPEED TEST vs HONOR 9X with KIRIN810

  • Maybe if they could launch it with new Android on board, (now considering official price) more people would say "I'm just buying." Hopefully review will tell as much as possible about all, too.

  • Yes, obviously. Go to Mi Community and ask that question as politely as possible, lots of people would reply to you provided that moderators won't delete your post for "various reasons". lol.

  • IF you could feel the heat outside the phone, that simply means that the "cooling system" is effective at removing heat away from the processor. This type of phenomenon is to be expected on systems that uses their frame and body for heat dissipation which is a standard on any smartphones.

  • The charging adapter has Type C or Type A USB connector port?

  • Frequency and voltage used by the SoC has far greater effect on heating than the fab process (12nm).

  • Don't compare Mediatek and Snapdragon directly. SD660 is still a viable SoC. You'll experience huge gains when you're jumping from midrange to flagship SD845 or higher series which is far better that just jumping from midrange to midrange-performance SoC.

  • All mobile heats-up at full load.

  • The question is that, what would you want to use that "performance" for?

  • you must tell me what do you do wth all the free time you earn by typng lk ths

  • Poco.

  • like

  • xiaomi/redmi one of the best cmpny coz give most of fans need n wht we wnt..hpe can mntain give the best spec in lowest price like this.. hpe can chnge from hybrid sim to 3slots better.. earfonjck must maintain in all model especially in blckshrk gming fon right must hve it.. sd card slot must maintain even flgship.. hpe cn give earfon & fst chrger in all model in the box like others...hpe can increase from 18w-20w++ like realme oppo n others.. when xiaomi wnt to realese 100w chrging? hpe .bttry hpe cn beat massive btry more 5000mah-6000mah++ espcially blckshrk n hot fon like midrnge note 8 pro u can beat others in total if u can maintain n tke fans idea/needs.. this is voice from fans hpe #xiaomi team can mke it..hpe can maintain success..terbaikkkk

  • Pocophone

  • Only due to hybrid sim I was and will not buy Huawei and Xiaomi phones. I like only dedicated dual sim with dedicated memory card slot.

  • ofc pocophone;)))

  • pocophone f1 of course.

  • Does this mobile heats????

  • Pocophene F1 or Redmi note 8 pro....who is more performance

  • No AMOLED display and on screen finger print sensor

  • What's wrong with this site?!? :/ Answer was for Jplazas. Sorry for spamming.

  • Screen On Time

  • What about battery issues? What is SOT?

  • Answer below for you

  • This is Chinese version of the phone. Global was not released yet, it will have them.

  • Without LTE 4 and 38? It does not work for Colombia.

  • I love this thanks for share with us. Xiaomi mi 8 pro full sprcification

  • I have sd 660 which is 14 nm so don't have problem with overheating. So how this 12 nm chipset can have that problem?

  • What is SOC? I have bad experience with MTK than I have had Redmi Pro.

  • The only One problem is that it has a 12nm based architecture SoC so it will surely heat up a lot.

  • Sorry no comment to price from me. Mostly, RN 8 is similar to RN 7 but has ultra-wide camera. RN 8 Pro has much faster CPU and better new 64 MP camera compared to RN 8 so it must be pricier. Note it may (or not) possibly heat up or not getting next Android update though. Whether it's true must be answered by experience and correct information.

  • What are you doing in this segment?, go back to realme.

  • What are you talking about!, note 7 pro is superior to note 8 pro?, the 7 is pure plastic and comes with an inferior chipset, sure its snapdragon but were talking about raw performace here and the Mediatek G90T trumps the SD675 in any test you could perform, even the build is vastly defferent from the 7, Note 8 Pro is built with premium matterials which are only found in Flagship Phones, how could it be a downgrade?

  • Its aluminum and yes you can feel the burn due to heat pipe displacing the heat from the proccessor.

  • Xiaomi has a pretty decent regular ota updates, the frequency of which spans in week sometimes months but atleast they pushed those updates when needed.

  • Its already cheap if you factor in the build and chipset I could say this phone is reasonably priced.

  • How come the price changes from 180 eur to 290 eur? Even though it makes sense for note 8 priced at 190 eur. Please explain anyone.

  • Don't just degrade the phone because it has a mediatek g90t processor. It's faster than all mid range chipsets till date.Overall the phone has competitive specs, but the phone seems to be heating and less power efficient.Lets see if they can fix that in next generation chipsets.

  • Great price i will buy Raealme XT 😂😂

  • Sorry I see now you mean it's upgradeD and addeD :D

  • Strange, RN 7 sound was good. I must check this out then even when not buying. ;)

  • Performance itself is good enough for a price of this budget line phone. It does have NFC.

  • My problem is the camera note camera seems much better

  • It depends of OEM.... You've got for exemple mt6737, an entry-level chip... Many OEM released devices with Android 6.0 without real updates... Nokia 1 was released with Oreo, received Pie and will get Android 10 with mt6737.

  • please tell me which phone does nit suppirt otg nowadays.

  • Is it true that Mediatek Processors stop receiving Android Updates with time passage.? If yes then will, the New G90t meet the same fate? Peace..

  • Hello Guys! If any of you have already purchased Redmi Note 8 Pro then please let me know the following queries : 1) Which Material is used to make the side frame of this phone (aluminium?) 2) Any Heating issues you experienced till now? Thank You for your valuable opinion in advance.

  • It has a terrible speaker like low cost products.

  • upgrade chipset (near sd 835) score, and add nfc. Better than realme 5 pro. It's semi-flagship but not flagship

  • 23 September

  • Please post some update if this phone has a USB On-The-Go..

  • That's good looking mobile... So Slim & high performance camera. India fast 64 mp camera..

  • Downgrade compare to Note 7 Pro? If you think that, you don't know what you're talking about!

  • You know G76 is twice powerfull compare to G72? You've got Mali G72mp3 vs G76mc4=G72mp8 CPU is still old cortex A73 on Samsung CPU and GPU wise, Note 8 Pro is better... Plus the cameras settings... Plus the ram Plus the faster charge It's not in plastic too But you've got Amoled and 6000mAh on Samsung Your choice....

  • I see it as you're from India. S. competes good against these brands there with 'M', don't know what was earlier but where I live (EU) have seen too much overpriced S. phones and hardly discounted. So if you did the same, maybe you'd start to like Xiaomi. :) It got better with their 'A' nowadays, again thanks to Chinese. Just saying. No matter what phone do you or I pick, let's agree competition is great thing for a customer.

  • No, I an from India and not buying it, most of us as this phone is a downgrade. Why will we downgrade? If you want to play games there are better phones in this budget. Or spend a few bucks more and get pocofone

  • Totally, useless phone just to bring enough and more options for users. Not that this phone is worth it too

  • very good value phone. The biggest drawback for me is the fingerprint sensor. I'll wait for the realme x2, which seems to be the perfect phone for me though I already own redmi k20pro, and foe me realme x2 is better than k20pro in many ways.

  • Pocophone f1 have better specs and price than this.

  • If you want to play only games in your mobile then go for it cause its a gaming gpu mali g76 its a powerfull gpu in low budjet so...i will buy it form india waiting for it thanks

  • It would be better if there is a dedicated slot for micro SD card.!

  • Decent brand, their chips are comparable to Exynos chips from Samsung! :D

  • 12nm from TSMC is better than 10nm made by Samsung...

  • This phone is useless before it launches as M30s is out for 14k. Taklu must launch it at below 10k for people to be remotely interested but then samsung will reduce price of m3p to those levels and then again no one will buy xiaomi redmi

  • only a mad like you can wish for that.....👟

  • Damn the only two deal breakers for me are the notch and network bands. I don't see why they disable a bunch.

  • if only they put sd855 or 855+ i will definitely get this phone in no time...

  • waiting launch in india

  • Leon would you say this beats the Vivo Z1x pro? If it does I'm definitely purchasing it, also wondering what phone this comes close to and if big tech googag can track our data when using this device? xiaomi has had rumours, will wait for your reply 🍺

  • Probably because the Note 7 Pro will get it

  • When redmi 8 pro launch date in Bangladesh ?

  • Yes you are absolutely right , It is a gaming and camera beast

  • hi, will android 10 be released in this device????

  • When redmi 8 pro launch date in india ?

  • Good Bye Android 10

  • like it

  • Phone is Superb its a gaming beast, no doubt price & spec design colour look both perfect but worried about one major problem its heating issue i want this phone but i am confused now cause i have seen some youtube videos while playing PUBG mobile phone is heating upto 48 degree plus so Xiaomi sholud take proper step to slove the problem or may next software update will solve this main problem of the beast phone..😎😍😍&amp;#128525;😍

  • If you guys read discussion first, sometimes you wouldn't have to ask. News about global version of some Note 8 (this?) might come in september, maybe in less than a week. Stay alert :)

  • Is there any global version coming??
