Guys, I had bought a couple of Anker Sensation 1900 mAh batteries on ebay almost with the phone. Worked fine. Two was enough for two years with daily usage (and switches from one to other). Now after they seemed to drain faster, I returned to stock one, which is pretty good, and going to update the driver soon.

This sure is a unique phone. I love its speed, handiness, etc. Only cons are: 1. sometimes when you are holding and typing (tapping) with only one hand, your palm could touch the screen and click an unwanted thing. 2. battery is below normal capacity and drains faster than other phones. 3. the factory unlocked version can't be updated to an official firmware. You will be stuck with 2.3.4 4. although it says 4G, it doesn't support 4G internet. If you have no problem with these, (I don't) you will love this phone. My rating is 7.5/10

Best mobile ever. I have been using this mobile for past 33 months, no lag, no problem till now. Its gorilla glass provided me tremendous support when I went for trekking (i dropped twice on hard rocks but no damage to screen). No words to say about its build quality and Camera. It is far far better than recently launched mobiles. UI is ultimate. Only drawback that i face is, this mobile runs on Gingerbread OS (I didn't took risk on ROM level upgrade manually) but it didn't make me feel bad because the UI and the speed of this mobile overwhelms it. Over all, I can say this is a reliable mobile phone with awesome stuffs which never disappoints you.

Not a good phone. I bought from ebay new, that's what the seller said. When I got it, use a few days, the screen is not stable. I email the seller, the seller said it could be the app that I download. So I have to wait and see. After 30 days of warranty, the screen suddenly disappear when I am talking, and cannot be recovered. pressing the power button, etc etc, nothing works. I have to take out the battery. Within 2 months, it cannot be booted correctly. No opening screen. Now I am ready to get another one.

I've used both of these phones. I can safely say HTC One S beats HTC Amaze in terms of performance, Camera quality, wifi signal strength, Build (One S is slim, stylish, lightweigt) HTC Amaze is no doubt a great phone too but in comparison HTC One S is better. Advantage Amaze has over One S is that Amaze supports SD Card and One S doesnt, Speaker sound Amaze has better but in handsfree One S rocks (Beats Audio), Amaze has NFC.

I observed that signal bars of amaze keep fluctuate despite the fact m much. Close to tower when I insert the same sim in other smartphones the sit is a bit different there the signal strength s for better. I read from one of previous reviews that amaze drops signal ever .my cel s back cover absolutely new so no question of problem at that end. Now please share ur experience about its reception capabilities thanks in advance.

You can't do it with GB. So you have to update to ICS. And if you have unbranded Amaze, there is no official update. So, you have to S-Off.

Yes. I used to charge my Amaze every 18-20 hours. Now, with same use as before, I charge it after 36-40 hours. After rooting, you can install an app called SetCpu. With this, you limit your cpu to 384 on calls and when screen is off, instead of using 1512 all the time. The less you use Cpu, the more you get battery saving :) And by the way, something which SUCKS all the battery is location service which is always runs in background. Go to setting>Location Services & uncheck all three :)

My amaze was fine about, a week before i noticed that it is dropping its signals very quickly. For example my other Chinese brand is showing full signal strength but when i insert the same sim in amaze it will only show 2 or 3 signal lines not complete 5. i took it to mechanic. when i saw it showed complete signals in his shop and for another one odd day then again continuously showing 1 to 2 lines less than the normal.anyone could kindly help me what can be the solution, other than that i found it an excellent cell. thanks in advance.

How about you flash HQ Camera 1.5 and then see the results about quality?! Same photo which you take by amaze, cannot exceed 2 MB. But after this, you'll have even 5 MB photos. Flash it and you'll see the difference :)

I Just Did S-Off, Super CID, And Using T-Mobile ICS. The device is more stable, faster, and better in every aspect because of ICS which HTC didn't bother to release it for unbranded versions. This Phone Is Really AMAZE'ing :)

So, what I found out is somehow I can't find its file manager folder and I just don't know how I can access my files in my SD card that are not media files because there's app for those. This phone, unless T-Mobile branded, is not automatically upgradeable to ICS. You have to become expert on phone rooting, read through 100 forum pages to find that rooting and upgrading it may not work for you.

U have bought a screwed up device! Don't blame the phonee for it! The battery backup is good! I can use it for 10 hours screen on for texting. Wifi signals are a problem! But use an aluminium foil to boost ur strength! More get ur phone rooted upgrade it n use ini.d scripts /custom kernel or build.prop tweaks to make ur phone super awesome!

Did u mess with its antenna or something? The antenna is located on the back of the cover! Check it n do nothing! Plus if u r using a case it may weaken ir signal strength of wifi n network! But u can use aluminium foil to boost it. My advice is to take it to the customer service centre

@ dabasse, ur htc amaze is either a china refurbished or a china re-make tag with htc label. Htc amaze is a very nice android phone n lacks some of the complains posted here except u are using the china refurbished nt the original,if ur phone is heating pls upgrade frm ginger bread to ice cream sandwich,ginger bread uses only one of the dual core procs which causes the heat while gaming but ics use both.

I have had this phone for a year on a three year contract having been told that it is very durable. Had problems since the start. It always randomly turns off and is very temperamental. I will have a few days where I can't even turn it on with out it turning off despite being fully charged. My sister got the same phone and has the same problem as I do. Because I dropped mine and a got a small crack though they won't take it back. They won't take hers back either despite it being in perfect condition other than it's own "natural" internal problems. Just overall very slow. Always the last to get Android updates. I really regret getting this phone.

I'll suggest you not to buy this one, indeed it has very good specs but I'm using this and I'm fed up with it from the beginning, It has worst battery life takes a lot of time to get charged, and theres no update available for its international/asian version. Plus if would like to install roms maunually on it it has very worse developers support and its method for unlocking bootloader/rooting are very long most of all doing s-off is the biggest challenge you'll face(software for S-off thing is not supported by windows and works on linux only) the rest is upto you :) Its have been 4 or 5 months since I bought it

This is a software issue the overheating. It starts when u r playing games or browsing. Mine starts after 5 to 10 mins later plus the battery lasts 5 hours if browsing n 2 hr 30 mins if u r playing a heavy game such as modern combat 4. Ics resolves all these issues including core support. Im using this phone for almost a 2 years now or more than i tnk. And for me i thnk the negative side for this is the batery and overheating issues. It lasted only for half a day wit a little browsing and playing games. I dont want it to updated coz it is unbranded (i dont know if this is a 4g or not) and i saw some thread that if im gona update the phone problems will occur so better to be like this than sorry. But overall i like the phone esp the cam and the internal memory. Over all a 7 star for this. lol.

Did u read the post? When it comes to the step flash ics firmware flashing, it is the official ics update which was released for tmobile htc amaze! So after u have flashed the firmware u will have official ics. If u like some more improvements u can go ahead with other steps n flash ARHD it is based of the official ics! N heed my words no missing of any step or ur device will be bricked.

Just hold ur amaze battery with some piece of paper inside battery cover, it will stop shutting down as the backside battery cover is little bit loose. I tried the same and have no issues from last 6 months.

If you are a heavy user and play a lot of games or surf the internet for a long time do not buy this phone. It has the worst battery I have ever seen. I charge it for 7 hours (3 times) every day and it gives me 6 hours of battery. If you buy the unlocked version, it will not upgrade to Android 4.0 . Camera is also not very good. I bought this phone in may but now I want to sell it. These are the problems that I have faced so far, I don't know if others are alsi facing the same problems.

It is the problem with the battery. that is what I have read in many forums. The solution for this is as follows. 1 (Paid) Call HTC customer support and report them, they might send u a new battery for free. But u have to pay shipping fee. Battery will will come in one week. (no certainity that the new battery will also be fine) 2 (Paid) Buy a new set of Anker 1930 MAh battery from Amazon for 30$. Battery has capacity more than the OEM so the backup will be more than the original one. Link is 3 (Free & safe) the problem may be because of the imbalance in the battery position and battery pins not touching. so if u try pressing the left bottom and right up corners, there will be a little shake, if there is try to fill the shake by a piece of paper or Credit card below the battery and for battery not touching the pins closely, you have to insert a piece of paper between the battery and the phone end, just to make sure that the batery is propoery hitting the pins closely. Try step 3 and if no problem persist and if u are happy leave it. If no problem persists and if u want more battery life goto option 2. I tried option 3 and using for 3 days , its perfect! I Love this Phone. I live in Canada which has ridiculously high prices for plans. Use it pay as you go and phone calls are great, GPS is great, Camera is great, I like to use it at full everything so I just bought HTC compatible batteries and a separate charger, Currently comes with ICS so the voice recognition is far superior. I write with it and take photos and send emails and have tons of apps with room for tons more. I would say once again Get extra batteries and external battery charger, I do this with all my battery powered electronics. There are even apps that make the great camera even better. Nough said. Excellent phone. Purchased unlocked on ebay for 245 Canadian.

i would recommend if you buy from a HTC franchise shop or outlet , not any other, as some people are selling refurbished sets which have battery or other problems, after buying check it for 2-4 days, if theres anything wrong go and get it replaced by a new one. note this set was released in 2011 so always buy n check and do not buy a refurbished one it can have problems

I don't know why people are complaining about battery and heat up ? Every Android Phone has battery problem, I'm using it and I'm not a Light user , WiFi, u tube surfing , emails almost al d day. ! AnD charge only once a full per day. This is awesome phone. As far as battery goes , when u people will use S3 then still u will say it also has a poor battery. So adjust ur self not expect ur phone to b adjusted 4 u.!

AMAZE-4G without the careership of T-mobile cannot be upgraded to i.c.s because HTC is not alowing this, More over I think htc has stopped manufacturing this amaze 4g any more. Any1 wants to buy this set, Make sure that the set you are going to buy is brand new and not Refurbished. Please vote up this mobile. Instead of voting for Craps NOKIA and MICROMAX. Hey Aakaash. Hi. I am using this set. It delivers just as it is named . Battery is good more than two days stand by. And screen time quite decently 4 hours+(on heavy usage) while 5 to 8 hours (under normal use) btw I never let battery to run down below 30~40%. These are observations on flight mode I don't use SIM in this mobile , so during having EDGE connectivity results may be lower battery timing. Finally camera quality is classical. No update for unlocked version. Enjoy GB it consumes less battery .ICS will gonna suck em up the whole battery so wildly. That's all.

Gingerbread 2.3.4 . No it's not upgradable to higher Platforms. U have to manually do it. No ics. Mine is HTC AMAZE X715e. Unlocked version. Auto turn on goes I reset the phone. But power control widget still not giving its icons :(

I love this device. I use T-Mobile prepaid and don't really care to use the 4G as long as I have Wi-Fi connection. I save on data usage that way. Cameras/Camcorder work great and take great pictures. I bought mine used from a well-known auction site. It operates fast. Voice is clear on phone. T-Mobile rep told me this is one of his 5 best-sellers. I can see why. I've been using an HTC HD2 until the touch screen became unresponsive. So I researched this item and the I found the specs to be great. It's even better in person. So yeah, I recommend this beauty. And because its an Asian version, so no official ICS was available for it (yet). I am active member on XDA. T-logo is the one released in US. Amaze in Pakistan comes without a logo. It can't be updated to ICS 4.0 because ICS 4.0 isn't released for Asian market (including Pakistan). But even then it is a pretty good phone, considering its price. The battery, as everyone claims, is NOT as poor. Most smart phones have battery issues. Amaze lasts around a day on moderate use. Only Wifi and Gaming eat up battey quickkly. Final word: If you are tight on budget, its a perfect option for you (apart from Xperia P, which is for 26,000)

I brought amaze 5 days age, and its really working fine. camera is superb and very fast processor, the only problem is the battery, bcoz on heavy use it only works for 8 hours but if u use it only for calls and sms, your battery will work for 15-20 hours. overall its a nice phone.

The logo/SIM-free version (without the T-Mobile logo) isn't exactly the best deal. As someone mentioned, don't be fooled by the 25k price tag. The one being offered (without logos) on discount is the X715e version, made in China, and no ICS OTA update. Now if you are a bit of a nerd, like me, thats probably a deal breaker. If you are a novice android user, you won't get a better deal. Best phone in the price range. Battery is much much better than many other smartphones out there. The 1 year warranty is good peace of mind. And the features are enough to last you a lifetime. For total nerds, go for the T-Mobile logo version. You probably won't get it in warranty, but its made in Taiwan and you'll be better off getting the ICS upgrade. The first update is glitchy, but another update takes care of most of the bugs. It is also in line to get the JB OTA update, but that'll probably take a few months.

Yes its x715e Asian version and its made in China. I also confirmed from htc UK support they said its shipping country is Singapore. Further homeshopping.pk told me while ordering that htc amaze 4g tmobile gets some download issues thats why they send me Asian version. Actually htc amaze x715e was made to fulfill needs of Austrailia and south east Asia.

If they said so to u so simple they fooled u, or the digitizer screen may be replaced so logo on front external part removed. But in system u can't remove t Mobil. So it may be a refurbished one locally .. be careful .

An example I have is that I tried to find a local Wal-Mart on the internet and it took over 2 minutes in an area with great connectivity. But now my battery will only last 4-6 hours. It is an excellent phone when it is working. Since ICS, I ahd lockup of the telephone after either dialing or conversation. Once the phone ask a bug report to be sent to HTC. Fast micro SD card are not necessay since the hardware was design for slow card. Camera comes on by accident to many times since ICS.

I purchased the Amaze with the Gingerbread OS. This was a great phone with no dark side. The HTC released the 4.0 Icecream sandwitch OS. Since that time the phone is nothing but trouble. It will not find a Wi Fi network. It runs hot even with unnecessary apps turned off. Contacts can no longer be updated to T-mobile. The problem is so bad for so many users that T-Mobile is trying to offer, with much duress for the consumer, a low end Samsung Exhibit 2 as a replacement. Tech support states the problems are widespread since the update happened. HTC has discontinued the Amaze all together. If your looking for a phone, stye away from the Amaze G4 unless it still has the Gingerbread OS on it.

this device was amazing, I got this in Mobilicity, and now i am very satified with this i compare also to my ipad 3rd generation but i much love htc amaze 4g, more easy to use and lots of free apps and i can watch video streaming but in ipad can not be only flash. but sometimes you need shutdown to refresh all services. bec this phone is like a computer.

I bought this device yesterday. The device is really superb! but I'm having a little issue :( the camera button is not working. Camcorder button is working fine as expected but there is some problem with the camera button.

Not going to happen. No carrier will accept to unlock. It is very easy to by unlock code by imei. I personally bought one day my amaze; next day paid on ebay $3. In 2 hours I got the unlock code. Put a non working sim; turn on phone, input unlock code when prompted and voila made first call with sim from another carrier. Don't be cheap. $3 is not a fortune. Good luck!

My choice is Amaze 4g over Galaxy nexus for the following reasons... 8 mp camera and front facing camera is 2 mp. Expandable memory card slot upto 32 GB Surround Sound (SRS) And yes the HTC sense is more better than of Samsung galaxy nexus UI interface. Actually they are both same in performance but these are the reasons for my liking for Amaze 4G but it might be my personal opinions it could vary with your priorities...

I have an Amaze from more than one month by now. All is ok. I still have my Nokia N8. Both phone are great. Each of them had something that the other one has not. Amaze beat N8 in many aspects but the N8 camera is far superior. Also the radio and media player too. I would like to be able to combine features from one and the other so that I would be able to have the ideal phone. But because it is not possible I chose Amaze eventually, so the N8 must go.

I think this is one of the better HTC models because of its solid construction and high quality materials. It also has one of them most user-friendly, and advanced cameras on a smartphone (will outperform many cameras that are much newer) Additionally, I LOVE having a dedicated camera and camcorder button! This phone is heavy but that is a plus for me. I stopped buying Samsung devices because they are the same price, but are much more flimsy and easily breakable. This thing is a beast, I've dropped it from 6ft high directly on concrete and there isn't even a scratch. And in the end isn't a more well-built, high quality phone more important then a few extra ppi, and a slightly larger screen?

I believe that depends on your provider. I have no internet or cell phone service and the phone only accepts WiFi on occasion. I also have a signal booster.

amaze does not have corning gorilla glass if you are a bit of a rough user with smart phones, either with a bit of strain, the glass cracks OR after a couple of years of usage, the touch sensitivity becomes a tad bad

I've had the phone for 14 days now. I've took my amaze back to the store twice. Once because my notification and my vibrate did not work. Factory reset did not fix the problem. Second time, phone was booting in a loop on its own. I had it charging and took a nap to wake up to a boot loop. A factory reset didn't work either. Im working on my third phone now, It runs very well, very smooth and sleek. Camera and video is amazing. Sound quality is awesome. The battery life is not so amazing. I close apps through manage applications. I still have to keep the thing charged about midpoint through the day. I use a text messaging, twitter, and instagram mostly, but not heavy usage. I have my sync settings adjusted so it does not "sync" all day long. Overall, I thoroughly enjoy the phone, I'm anxious to see how it performs with ICS in June.

The only con is the battery, everything else is really "Amazing." The battery didn't work for me because I am a gadget freak, so the phone doesn't stand by for long in my hands. For anyone who doesn't use the phone always, including and for most the 4G network, this phone will be to love. The camera is stunning, the processing speed is also a plus.

Actually I am quite disapointed with the Amaze, or rather it's a nice gadget for social networkers or the younger crowd....I find the screen (or any tactile screen for that matter) difficult to work with....not easy to stroke the right way for the action you want it to do...even installing a wallpaper is complicated because it always crops your images or pictures, and then you have to choose if you want a wallpaper, a theme, or a skin wich actually is all the same thing!!!! I tried skyping, that did not go well either because you do not have access to the tool bar you get when on your pc, in wich you can adjust sound from the speakers and mic. so I could not ear a darn thing! I was seduced by the camera, by the possibilities it offered for Skype, GPS (even if not real gps) but after 3 days the honeymoon is over....I can't wait until there's a good bombination phone on the market, as professionnal as a blackberry and as fun oriented as an HTC but without their downfalls...

I'm not too sure about the Amaze as my daughter just purchased, but with any phone (Blackberry, Nokia, Samsung ExhibitII, etc.) I was not able to transfer any of the installed apps from internal storage that came with phone as this would allow user to delete from phone in its entirety....if this is not so then I'd love to know because I was informed by all 3 manufacturers that installed apps from mfr cannot be deleted.

I totally disagree. I was a advid user of any HTC phone until I got my hands on the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx. It beats the one x hands down,not even close to it. I can watch at least 6 complete videos and only be down to 60% in battery. Try that with your HTC One X. Believe me when I say HTC as a whole makes the best group of phones but they have a long way to go to compare at the moment to the Mororla Razr Maxx

Forget about getting any other models within the HTC range. If you have the funds, go for the HTC ONE X, you will not regret it as it is the very best Android phone in the world today from HTC, if not, go for the HTC Amaze 4G, which is the second best phones in the HTC stables. Forget about getting the Sensation XE or any others model. I have both of this phone and using the ONE X as the main phone with the Amaze 4G as the secondary or back up phone. The HTC ONE X surpass the Apple iPhone 4S hands down on every levels. Dump your 4S and wait for the iPhone 5 or 6 when it comes out in June and I doubt it will come close to the HTC ONE X which is the phone to BEAT.

well for who asking what better xe or amaze 4g ..the answer is the amaze 4g sure is better alot than the xe in camera and internal memory and qhd screen and rams and front camera too..... about the guy who asking about the shadow ..well be4 u try play in the setteing make sure th to clean the camera lens from the back is clean ( with a gentle cloth),,just try move the back cover and clean the cam good and if u still have this shadow maybe u need 2 try different setting for the cam and sometimes this shadow could be of the light of the place u so try in another light and try in normal day outside ...i use the amaze 4g 3 monthes now and every thing workking more than amazing and its still the best on the markket....about who were asking about the battery life ..well since u begain use smartphones then u need know that u have 2 carry the charger with u or buy extra buttery ...i bought 2 extra battries from amazon.com was offer and i guess its still there 2 anker battries with charger (1900 mah battery) higher than the oreginal its amazing battery acttualy so now i have np with worry about the battery i just use one of the extra and the oreginal one and it give me like 2 full days with both what i need more lol.......after all htc amaze 4g is still the best of all with being fast and perfect back cam and front cam ..if any one wanna have real smartphone i still advice 2 have the htc amaze 4g

i just got amaze 4g and im having an issue with the lowest side of the screen in dim brightness i can see a white light shade from the 3 light sources which are for the touch sensitive controls (where there is a curved shape with phone written on it, that whole area is like effected with a whitish shade only i can see the effect in lowest brightness) is this normal or my phone has some issue?????

The amaze 4g dose have a gyro. There is an app on the market that shows all phone sensors and what they are outputting in real time and the gyro is indeed there.

hey medo im from egypt and i got the htc amaze 4g 2 monthes ago and it work very good with vodafone but be4 u buy it u must make sure its unlocked so it will work very well and it dont have arabic language but still the wedgit can read the arabic message and after while u can root it 2 get it suport arabic but this is not problem 2 me i love the phone so much its one from the best smartphones on the market and for me its the best
