as much as we like the phone it seems we have few phones and accessories such as phone covers, memorry cards are rare to be found. to those who are struggling 2 connect 2the internet. there are no OTA over the air settings. however u can go to ur network provider or any network provider and they will install a .CAB file or application that automatically configures the gprs internet settings 4any network on ur fone. so it daz not meta whether u get it 4rm vodacom, cell c, or mtn etc but it works for all networks. i have dat cab file. goodluck

what network are you? Vodacom, Virgin Mobile, MTM or Cell C? Vodacom dial *111# click on phone setup (R1 to go on the web on the phone) Virgin Mobile just switch your phone off and on and it'll ask if you want to download the MMS or GPRS settings click on Yes MTN dial *123# and follow around Cell C dial *147# and the settings will be sent.

I don't know, but this phone of me constantly compains about low memory, and this is because in order to use a mp3 as a ringtone you have to copy the song to the phone's main memory i.e. it cant use it directly from flash card. Same for doing voice recordings, you cant use the flash directly for this purpose.(Although media player can access your flash.) This is a big deal since I have a 2Gb flash installed, but the phone itself has only 16mb of which 500kb is free at the moment and I cant improve on this situation. At any rate this phone has quite a lot of software bugs that I hope will be resolved someday with a firmware upgrade, but this seems unlikely as I heard that the phone is discontinued. So bad things about this phone is a lot of irritating bugs/flaws as well as poorly laid out keypad, as well as others. But I have to say for its price it is a good phone, and I especially like the windows media player embedded. Camera is average.

I bought my S310 (from Orange Romania where it's called SPV C100), and I'm pretty happy with it. Despite some Bluetooth connectivity issues (I couldn't manage to get it connected to a Nokia 7xxx series and a Nokia 6300 - the Nokias just wouldn't see it, but transfered successfully to and from a N70 and my wife's S-E W810i) and some occasional system blocks (probably due to relatively tiny RAM) it works like a charm. It's my first smatphone and I just hate the main menu of it, so I downloaded and installed a free frontend application, called Smart ToolKit (google it), which adds a bunch of new features, including a Windows-like Start button and menu, auto keylock, system shutdown/restart and others (btw, the system blocks may be due to this app as well, it's in beta stage). Battery lasts about a week, with at least 15-20 minutes of talking per day, occasional mp3 listening and playing. Anyway, I recommend it warmly to anyone who wants a fully-featured smartphone at half the usual price. @Simich - the memory size is a marketing scheme. What the specs tell you is the maximum memory capacity for RAM and ROM, but they both share that 64 MB. The ROM is where you install the programs (you can install them directly to the Memory Card to save memory) and the RAM is the memory used by programs to run. The maximum capacity for each oscillates according to needs and available space, so if you install all apps on the Memory Card you should allways have at least 48 MB of RAM (I have around 48, of which at least 20 ar allways free).

In general I'm pleased with the S310. Serious problems though with upgrading to .NET V2.0 due to memory shortage in the Store. The CeleTask utility shows the following memory status: Memory (RAM): tot/free = 43.56/25.33 Mb Store (ROM): tot/free = 15.94/ 2.57 Mb Card (mSD): tot/free = 1.94/ 1.78 Gb Installing .NET V2.0 needs at least 5.7 Mb free store memory (even when .NET's cab file is resides on the mSD card...). I don't know how to free up more Store space. I'm confused anyway because the S310 specs tells me the store (ROM) should be 64 Mb (equal to RAM) instead of the 16 that the task manager indicates...?! Help much appreaciated!

1.3m camera. is not quite good at night , but it has many features and settings 1.2bluetooth supprted. Doesnt work-idont know why with my jabra BT125 but work with my motorola hs307(v1.1) records voice . i couldnt sync it yet but i ll try more. i have it 10days and it is wonderfull for his price .

I recently purchased one of these so called smartphones from Orange in Sutton Coldfield England. I had various questions answered and they even turned off the annoying orange menu bar for me. I went away happy with my purchase and headed back to sunny walsall and charged the phone up over night. When i got up i thought i would put the phone through its paces as i had previously owned an SPV C500 Mobile phone and it had a terrible problem with sms ringer. What problem i hear you ask. The problem is that when someone sends you an sms text message and the ringer is set for instance Mission Impossible any normal phone inc symbian phones if you touch any key or the green answer key the ringtone normally switches off promptly but this phone carrys on ringing until the end of your mp3 or midi. This is wrotten design from HTC. If the rest of there phone range is like this then the company should be avoided like a bad smell. I wont be buying HTC or SPV phones anymore and neither should you guys.

For �59.99 from the orange shop on payasyougo its a bargain!!! i have had a n70 w810i and a d600 and this beats them all ok it might have a 1.3mp camera BUT! its fast and has a hell of alot more features and the fact that you can run anything on it its ace also the best feature has to be the battery 1200mah! the battery life is amazing i had music on 3/4 volume for about 4-5 hours and still had 87% battery left! anyway great phone especialy for the price!

This is a great phone, I love it. So much beter than then the symbian platforms. And yes it has instant messaging, msn mobile and it is awesome. Because it is based on microsoft mobile 2005 there is literally thousands of applications you can download for this phone. I have completly changed the interface on my phone, with right menu. Now it exactly like the full windows menu system

I have user many other phones before:nokia, moto,ericsson, siemens. they all have some minor problems. but this one is terrible in reception. although HTC phones all have strong office functionality , which is why I chose it this time. However, most of my friends complained to me : why I ignore their call? or it sounds like I picked up the phone and hanged up immediately....... I tried many things , such as changed a new sim card, compared with friends' signal strenth in same location...... I am 99% confident this phone really have big problem in the most fundamental function: reception!

Poor Display with an out of date version of windows mobile (5) the current version is 6. I believe the phone is an SPV C500 re cased and with its bluetooth fixed. One to give a miss unless your on a budget. If it drops to less than �50 then it will be a good buy.

A nice package, good value for money. not the best features on the market, but then also it is not that expensive compared to other phones. it is also rather small for a smartphone, and also very fast compared to other smartphones I have seen.

mp3 sound is pretty good, but not with preinstalled Windows Media player. mp3 player with equalizer is needy. I recommend to use Pocket music. HTC S310 is good phone for listening music. Battery life is also pretty good. I had turn on display whole day, ocassionally worked with phone and after 16 hours battery still had 20% of power. Consequently reading of books whole day by S310 is possible.

The battery life is pretty good if I may say so. I own an Orange SPV C100, which is pretty much like the HTC S310, and the battery life has amazed me so far. It lasted for 3 days with like 30min talking and 1h using the internet on edge :) I hope this info will help you decide upon buying this device because it's a jewl I tell you, especially at this price.

I live in sweden, but I'm an asia(1/4 viet and 3/4 chinese)lol. I bought the phone here in sweden and it cost me about 270 euros with tax(about 300 dollars). I have checked little bit about how long battery lasts. almost 4 days, then I had made some phonecalls everyday and listen some music. I gonna make a real test very soon, and I let you guys know.

The HTC phones with Windows mobile are exxelent! I love it! there is only one weakness, the camara is behind the new standards with their camara. Should be at least 2 mega pixel and not 1.3 that is "old stuff"
