LG G8X ThinQ - User Reviews

  • stop trolling here

  • I knew it was too good to be true

  • ATT has it on pre-order through LG website for $779!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wheres the $699 price at??????????????? Talked to ATT rep and she said that's the price that LG is selling this phone for!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And then ATT is giving you the second screen for free as a bonus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I know it says it has wireless charging, but some online reviews says it doesn't. So does it have it???

  • Download a third party Launcher

  • ?

  • No software updates? Puts LG in last place

  • I've got an LG V50 Dual Screen Device that I imported from Korea. Dual screen tech is a total game changer. I'm interested to see if I'll be able to slot my V50 into the upcoming G8X's Dual Screen Accessory. I'm guessing that it won't work, but I'm interested to check it out, since the G8X Dual screen does offer some improvements. The V50 Dual Screen seems like a proof of concept device, a bit like I'm rocking a prototype phone, but I'll tell you what, it's freaking awesome, and it definitely gets a reaction from people. "Ooh, Aah! What is that?" "Oh cool! Where can I get one!?"

  • I had the G4 which I traded to upgrade to the V20. I've had my V20 for 4 years now and it still runs great. Near the first of the year I bought the V40. To me LG makes some of the best, though underrated phones out there.

  • Both have more than enough battery-life. LG are wizards at making battery efficient mobiles. I have every model from g4 and forwards.

  • Lg messed up on v40 n v50 due to average battery life!!!! First thing users look at is the battery life.

  • I'm struggling to pick between this and the V50. V50 has a better screen which I like but I've heard bad things about the battery life, especially with the second screen, apparently only lasting a few hours. Also the second screen for the G8X looks much more polished and apparently only adds an extra 30% battery draw.

  • You should be gone :D And the huge notch, yeah make a pop up camera and remove that notch :(

  • The screen is on the smaller end, but I think an LG Q8 2017 would fit your question

  • I’m surprised LG has not removed the headphone jack. USB ports exist, you know. You can also make room for more space, like a new port or card slot (if your deviec doesn’t have a slot) or you may want to add new features like software refinements or pop-up selfie cameras. So please, LG, listen to me and all others who wish for more room, and let the 3.5mm jack be gone.

  • Its out a while ago.....

  • Well i have a g6 and i got pie (update referred as "v30sept") like 2 weeks before. Check again for updates dude ;)

  • Hmmm. I have an LG V30+ DS and have had Android 9.0 for months. Granted my Samsung Note always got its upgrades before my V20 and V30, but still reckon the V's are a much underrated Android phone

  • F*ck lg, I'm still waiting on pie update on my phone Lg v30 (h930d).

  • take lg g7 fit

  • get the lg g6

  • anu connect???

  • I hate the LG g5 and after a couple years it started messing up and had more problems with the device than it was worth and didnt want those problems I went to samsung galaxy note 9 and have had no problems what so ever

  • please launch an affordable smartphone with a 5.5 inch screen or below 6 inches so it is simple in handheld especially for young people now with a weter drop camera model and a dual 2 rear camera just in the middle not on the side if possible at least a Snapdragon 450 / 63x can also be used Helio version P25 / P30 if Helio P22 / P35 is not suitable for gaming. thank you

  • I am still using my LG G5 without problems since 2016. I am so sold with their MIL-STD 810G build. I hope they offer this here in the Philippines.

  • No you can't

  • Imo they're getting worse

  • I'm still using an LG Nexus 5x now and it still hasn't bootlooped..

  • All sd808 and sd810 bootlooped? Didn't happen with both Microsoft Lumia 950 running SD808 and Microsoft Lumia 950 XL running SD810. Probably it's just Android stuff since I frequently hear a lot of SD810 bootloop issue with Google/Huawei Nexus 5P.

  • does it work if i use different phone to power up the dual screen? just for fun. anyone have can u reply.

  • and is it gonna work ? heh

  • can you swap the dual case of LG V50 thinQ and LG G8X thinQ? anyone answer please

  • I used lg g pro or lg g pro2 is a brilliant mobile phone in world . I like LG company . that's all

  • LG have the best screen/display.My V 10, despite hitting the bootlop, had a beautiful display

  • Yess

  • I agree that the LG software is actually pretty good and i like it. Software wise, the big problem with LG is not only the late updates but also the fact that as far as i know, they dont update their UI version on older models, they just update the Android version. Brands like Apple, Samsung, Huawei and Xiaomi update their UI versions as well. Correct me if i am wrong, but for example, the LG G7 got the Android Pie update but with a UX 7.0 and not the UX 8.0 which is currently the most recent.

  • 1 request please before the official release or make an update: On the review it says that then phone are flip backward"open 360 degree" the dual screen are turning off atleast make it available to use and make it available to turn off the main screen while using the dual second screen while on 360 degree, like the screen was off on main phone off and make the software of the phone work for the dual case screen, you know what i mean.

  • Lg has good cams but not great in low light.

  • you should know that the quality of the camera is not measured by the number of megapixels. lg has the best manual mode and ultrawide boat on the market mobile

  • All sd808 and sd810 bootlooped. HTC, SONY, Huawei. It was a qualcom chipset problem, not om's fault that used it. Samsung knew the issue and used exinos on all they'r galaxy 6 series no matter the market. That's when the hegemony of Samsung begun. And the fall of HTC, Sony and LG. That's the moment Huawei started to build Kirin.

  • I dissagree about the poor software and battery life. LG has some of the best android skins. Their optimisations are stelar. They sqeez more power from their batteries than anyone else. I can say that you never used a LG phone. LG V30 had the best battery life of the sd835 series despite not having the bigest one. All reviews about software are nitpiking the shape of the icons, or some settings menu that is too clutchy, or not having night/dark mode. They had "high contrast mode" witch is 80% the same thing since 2015. No one is really reviewing this phone seriously except for Ben Sin from the Forbes and Juan Bagnell from some gadget guy. I agree that LG is very late at upgrading the OS vesions. I belive that 99% of the reviwers are seling to viewers what the viewers need to read/hear. There is some recepie for a succesfull reviewer: you need to spoil 2-3 grand phone makers(samsung, iphone and maybe huawei) , you have to trash some other 1-2 grand phone makers (LG, HTC or SONY-this way you gain credibility) and you must spoil some cheep flagship killer like that lowsy one plus (also boosts the credibility).

  • 1/3.1 no 1/3.0

  • LG G8 And V40 IMX 363, G8x IMX 345. V40, G8 And V50 f/1.5 but G8x same camera LG G8s f/1.8 And Ultrawide f/2.4 but G8,V50/40 f/1.9. But LG G8x 136° And 1/2.8" sensor vs 1/3.0 V40/50/G8.

  • Just read the specs, my dear!

  • Anyone, does it have FM radio, it's really important to me?

  • lg g8x has sony imx 345 exmor rs sensor for main camera .such a sensor is located in samsung galaxy s9 and note 9 and lg v40 -lg v50 5g ,!why such a negative comment, it's a great sensor . you should know that the quality of the camera is not measured by the number of megapixels. lg has the best manual mode and ultrawide boat on the market mobile

  • my lg v30 has been updated to 9.0! when i bought it, it worked on android 7.1.2 !

  • They're slow but getting better, IDK of anyone as bad as Motorola.

  • Lg is stupid. V30 has good main camera but worst front cam. Now the g8x has good front cam but not the main cam. Lol lg can never make a wel rounded phone. Always try to cut corners.

  • How much money for this cell phone and is it true that LG is desperate for software updates.

  • but lg g8x is much cheaper than v50 5g

  • The Dual Screen accessory for the G8X definitely harks back to the days of ZTE Axon M. Definitely looking forward to this phone. But compare this to the V50 ThinQ 5G, there are some notable difference mainly with the screen and the camera. They both 6.4", but the V50 is 1440p while G8X is 1080p. Also, the V50 camera is a wide/tele/ultrawide combo, while the G8X is a wide/ultrawide combo. Tough decision here.

  • Does it have FM radio?

  • Its funny that most of those trash talking comments come from people that never used an LG phone. Once u have actually used it u will have right to judge it, just like with everything else. What u guys are doing is just trash talking, not judging, by stating that, ur "opinions" are completely unimportant.

  • Obviously you have no experience with a newer LG phone. The LG G8 is an awesome phone and the LG G8 X will probably be even better

  • this device is really good who cares the 2nd screen this device will have a stellar battery life being oled with 1080p+ display and 4000mhp this might be my next phone

  • I think a dual screen case is a good idea. Seems will be possible to buy the g8x in a bundle or just the regular g8x. I'm not sure if this will make the base g8x more expensive because the technology involved but it's great that the phone has this capability.

  • I honestly think this is the best phone LG has ever made. Let me explain: LG tried to fit everything that ppl want nowadays in it and is still keeping it simple. Its not the best of best, we dont see the 12mpx f/1.5 sensor on it or telephoto, it doesnt have QHD+ display... This phone has fit everything all the new phones have. It has an in display fingerprint sensor, it has a huge 4000mAh battery, a FHD OLED display, it still has a Quad DAC and a jack, it has an improved front facing camera with 32mpx, they gave us back the original ultra wide angle camera from LG G5 with 136 degrees, a 12mpx f/1.8 with 1.4u sensor with dual pixel (it should do really well in low light even if it's f/1.8), the option of getting a secondary display, an alternative to already overrated foldable phones that are failing one by one, are too complicated and unpractical. Ppl are worried about battery life? Well, most likely it will be good, afterall, u have 2xFHD display, both OLED, and both together have just a bit more pixels then a single QHD+ display on V50 or V40. Its not like u are gonna use 2nd display all the time, right? In the end u have a choice, u can buy the 2nd display or not, u are not forced to use it and spend 2000$ on it. U can have it with u everywhere or just leave it at home, its practical.

  • Good specs but probably will be destroyed by poor software. As people said, lg has the worst battery life among phones with similar spec, and has slow os updates. With it's mobile department losing money, i have no hope they will get better tho. Sad.

  • Since i live in Europe, i m not very optimistic that this model will come here. We will probably get a downgraded version of it here or not get it at all. LG has a terrible marketing strategy when it comes to worldwide availability.

  • Rumors say it wil cost 949 euro. With the dual screen.

  • You probably have never used an lg flagship. Their products are solid, especially the v30 was excellent. With this phone LG is ticking all the boxes. A great phone. Only downside is, LG is never in a hurry to bring their phones to Europe. One has to be patient.

  • Lg always make good phones except for the low battery life! Only phone that have good battery life is v30. The g8x looks promising. Hopefully the price is under $800!!!!!

  • finally I am excited about an LG phone again and this a legit full package without that stupid wide notch with some great improvements and besides the slow updates I don't see any other drawbacks, so this is my next phone, can't wait for it

  • Big Sony and LG fan here. They just cant compete with xiaomi and samsung, Then they decide to compete with apple ?! Prices of these phones (G8x or xperia 5) will be like buying 2 k20 pros or 1.5x s10e. I just cant. I will buy s10e and take my wife to mega expensive dinner on a cruiser than buy these phones. peace

  • finally, lg has packed a good battery, a good procesor, good screen, headphone jack-fm radio, quad dac, camera combo, + the gimmik with the screen... now question is : how much and when will it get to european market. . my next phone (after the lg v30+). bravo!

  • Rubbish.... Samsung and Apple also bootloop dude....

  • perfect smartphone for me

  • Yes, it is solve. Have u ever try G7 or V30+?

  • 5 years behind? what you mean? like...not removing 3.5mm jack? and do you even know LG phones have wide angle camera more than 3 years ago, and Samsung recently adopt it? And Lg also adopt Quad Dac quality audio faster than Samsung. Also, don't forget about MIL-STD-810G compliant which Galaxy doesnt have. I am using 2 LG smarphones and its fucking awsome. Still rocking my v20 What makes you think so? I think you are a paid reviewer from Samsung...or super hardcore fan.

  • LG will always be a trying hard company to level with Samsung. My gawd, there phone quality is worst, always a 5 years behind the latest phone tech. Looks likes they buy scraps from leading phone tech like apple or samsung.

  • Bootloop problem solved?

  • Why the always notch... Who really needs that a few mm on top of the screen. Just dont do that LG Amazing phone killed by notch...

  • For the first time i saw a phone in GSMArena without an opinion, i know that most of you would have a heart atack if you saw the same thing so i decided to prevent that from happening. Because i'm a good Indian guy (that loves Nokia), i decided to left my opinion / question: this mobile support whatsapp?

  • finally 4000mah with good chipset
