I've had this phone for over 3 years... There are several problems that came up through out these years but overall I am really glad that I bought this phone. The battery lasts about a week. I mostly use it for making phone calls and sending texts. I am not very active but still... 1 week is 1 week. The camera is decent. At first I thought it was shit but after taking pics with several other phones I came back to my LG and hugged it. Good camera with clear shots. Does good when zooming on a text. A few months ago I started having problems with the Bluetooth, since I can't receive any files anymore. I can send, however. (remember, it's been 3 years!) I filled it's internal memory really fast but that is ok since you can buy a memory card :) A pretty big problem (at least for me in the beginning) were the headphones. Being LG's, in my country at least, they are very hard to find and really expensive. The ones that I got with the phone broke rather quickly... It's a really resistant phone. I dropped it countless times and even though it has lots of scratches, it worked fine until 5 months ago... Just like anything, it has to go at some point, and now it's on it's deathbed. The touchscreen, that worked perfectly for more than 2 years is now really difficult to handle.... I am looking for a new phone right now but I thought I could pay my regards to the phone that served me well by posting this review. If you are looking for a long-lasting phone, with a super battery and decent photos, easy typing and lots of alarms this is the one!

I have this phone for one year. Now I have big problems: bluetooth does not always work. Battery is not weak. Now sometimes it just go off even battery is full. Do not buy.

I've had nothing but problems with this phone. I've had to have the screen replaced 3 times after the touchscreen failed. Then the camera wouldn't work, then the message centre screwed up, now I've just dropped it in a toilet and it won't even turn on. I tried to get all the files out of the memory via USB, only for the inside of the jack to snap. Now I'm stuck with some shitty phone, which just acts as a sealed tomb for all contacts, videos, games and photos. The loss of photos is the worst. They were irreplaceable photos of my dead baby boy.

Its amazing I've had no problams woth it and I've had is for about 2 years now , you should buy this a bargain of £80 pounds I would get it if I was you crappy £200 pund phone , who needs them

had mine for almost two years & never had a problem with it. Screen works far better than most even my other half has no problem with it which pleases her as she can't use any of the capacitive screens at all. Over all a good phone, it may not have thousands of "apps" available but it has plenty of tools & if all you want to do is make & receive calls text & a bit of internet who needs rubbish that tells you the ambient temperature of Everest?

I've had this phone for awhile now, the touch screen calibration has started to play around and i cant do anything :/ its starting to really annoy me, thank god i'm upgrading soon!

This was the first phone I ever had, and for the first year or so I was generally happy despite the slowness, the battery life, the annoying calibration, and the small memory space. Then after 11 months or so?, I started having problems. The phone was continuously becoming slower and slower and it was started to get on my nerves if I had to do something quickly. The internet was absolutely awful. I couldn't go on any other websites aside from Facebook. The phone would freeze and turn off and such, which really annoyed me. Then, my phone fell into a river. I was horrified. It wouldn't turn on, even after I left it on the radiator for a week. For about three months I had to use a brick phone, which really got me appreciating the LG! However one night I decided to try the LG and see if it would turn on. Sure enough, it did! I was sooo relieved. I have to admit, the phone is very resilient! I'm not the most careful of people! I've dropped it, thrown it and sat on it but it has continued working! Even so, I would NOT recommend buying this phone. It makes you wary and annoyed. I must admit I can't wait to get rid of this phone.

I find the phone crappy to handle and there's certainly almost no support with it and as for the Pc suite and trying to find drivers, well I'll not even consider one of these again, pure rubbish.

I've had 2 of these now, It has a great camera even though NO flash,& phones software and internet are good. Both phones had problems with the screen. 1st wouldn't calibrate so if you pressed 1 you'd get a 4 instead, it made the phone useless. Replacement phone - predictive txt (T9) stopped working. Then even though it was just in my pocket in protective sleeve the screen cracked inside. screen to large for a thin plastic surround.

I have this phone and I haven't had a problem with it, clearly not many of you have this product. Very simple to use the camera is good and using the net on it is good. I realise it's not an Iphone but it does similar functions and is an excellent cheap alternative.

I cant be doing with this phone anymore... the touch screen is inaccurate and often switches languages while texting, it holds very little texts and takes ages to load applications such as the music player. It has no flash or zoom and didnt come with a USB cable so to me, the camera function is utterly useless. Messages randomly appear in the middle of my inbox rather than at the top. Another seriously annoying problem is that i have messages in my outbox with the status 'sending' and when i try to cancel or delete, even after saying 'deleted' the messages wont budge. Perhaps im unlucky and have a faulty handset, but im going to try my hardest to get a new phone asap, i cant be on contract with this phone much longer.

Hi Sheila, If i'm correct, you will see 3 buttons on the top of the screen marked 1, 2, 3 ?? If so, then you just have to slide with your finger from the right to the left somewhere in the middle of the screen. It looks like the phone has 2 desktops and with one simple slide you can switch between the two. Hope i could help, S.

Hiya,got my wife this phone,no instructions tho,pen stylus does come out,just pull a bit harder!Only annoying thing so far is when making automated calls the keyboard does not stay on the screen and the screen locks!Grrr!

If you haven't done it yet swipe your finger across the screen and you will see that the home screen changes. You should see your links reappear. Near the top of the screen you will see 2 circular icons which indicate what home screen you are on.

recently got this phone on new contract from 3. overall its a good phone touch screen pretty responsive landscape keyboard a bit small smart t9 good camera with a good focus no google maps app a little disopointing but not to bothered opera mini works well on it so does the built in browser. i like the mp3 widget the rest to me seem a waste of time. overall good phone for £15 a month though

I like the phone. Though, Three has misled customers into thinking that the phone can run Google Maps. Three have recognised the error and say they will rectify it by correcting the phone's specification. This is no compensation for those who purchased a phone which is not fit for purpose.

at the side of the phone there's a pen which you can pull out.its thin so it;s easer to just press one button it will not break your phone. also it connects to your computer there is no usb because supposedly you don't need one but was meant to get a CD so you can connect your phone to the computer.

I oncur, I t know why these sites give FALSE information. I tried to download google maps, and it kept on telling me that the LG VIEWTY GT405 phone will not support this app. So I contacted LG and they themselves had said as quoted: " Due to the new software of the Viewty GT405, its does not support google maps technology, However, we are looking to our software technicians into this matter, to try come up with a google maps type application, to be added to all LG Viewty GT 405 and other models from there on. " As you see. this site and many has given you false information. I hate sites likes these that dont do ther homework properly. SHame on you GSMARENA.

I wonder why the adverts say this phone comes preloaded with google maps, messenger and skype apps. It doesn't have google maps as advertised (you wont even be able to download it), it doesn't come with messenger and skype (can be downloaded and installed). Is anyone thinking legal action or what???

My gt405 from 3uk didnt come with windows live messenger or skype or google maps preinstalled as 3 phones usually do, is there somewhere I could download them from or why it might not have come with them preinstalled, as implied by advertising the phone with skype and messenger written on the front?

First of all don't come on this site and start insulting people! I actually looked at the specs on this site and they mentioned an S-Class interface and as this site had the most detailed specs at the time I decided to go for it. Secondly I already have the original LG Viewty for a couple of years now so already know how good the camera is on it. For those of you have have come on here for information....the phone is actually quite nice and slim and pleasant to use. The screen is bright and clear, the menu is an improvement on the KU990, the sound is better but as I said before the video camera is not as good. So it depends on what matters to you most. Also I've found that the battery seems to last longer on the GT405.

Just to add one more comment, this phone is described as the LG Viewty GT by 3. Don't be fooled into thinking that the video camera on this phone is as good as that on the original Viewty. The video camera does not have 120fps recording let alone 30fps. It looks more like 15fps.

I got this phone on 3 and discovered that it does not have the S-Class UI as the Arena or even the LG Pop. Also I tried to download Google maps on this phone and got the message back that the map application is not compatible with this handset. However I was pointed to the mobile web version. As far as I can tell this phone is identical in look and menu system to the LG GT500 Puccini (see demo on you tube) except that there is no WiFi and also no camera flash. For a resistive screen the fluidity of the interface is not bad but I am disappointed as I was expecting the S-Class interface which looks much better.

you should be able to use skype no problem on this. it comes with Skype as standard on the 3 network in the UK.
