LG K8 (2017) - User Reviews

  • At least the model US215 is equipped with an 8-megapixel camera, and not 13 megapixels.

  • Mobile data don't work

  • I use LG K8 (2017) Dual Sim X240K (i live in Indonesia), after 1 year, my impression about this phone is Pros: - Great design, elegant, love the rounded edge glass - Good for light everyday use (good for people that not use lot of apps) - Double tap to wake is great, very useful - Both rear and front camera is bright and good on minimal light Cons: - No NFC - Main camera cant focus on close object (if you take a picture of a document, the content is blur and unreadable) - Charger have small output, only 0,85 A, takes a lot of time to charge. - Stuck at Marshmallow 6.0 (Yes, no Nougat update for LG K8 2017 in Indonesia) It seems there is 2 kind of LG 2018 (2017) on the market. the one with 3,5mm jack port on top, and one with 3.5mm jack port on the bottom, be careful when buy a softcase or accessories. (LG K8 2017 Dual Sim X240K model is the one with 3,5mm jack port on top)

  • this phone is a disgrace . i changed it with a alcatel and this alcatel is better

  • yup.

  • the rose gold one is beautiful

  • This mobile has no NFC

  • Mine responds really slowly since day one. Somehow I though it would get better but nope. Still super slow. I do like the camera but it is also slow to open the camera app and to focus. I love how it looks but it has definitely a really poor performance. You sure you have this 2017 version?

  • Well my doesn't have nfc. Looks like some models come without it.

  • 3098890497-8667404531 Currently using it. Very very laggy

  • the phone is laggy and slow with apps like Instagram and Snapchat and the camera is terrible

  • Camera has terribly slow auto-focus, quite often it takes 2-5 seconds from pressing the trigger to actually take the photo because it is trying to focus the image and after it takes the photo...it is still out of focus...frustrating really, headphone jack went out after 2 months of usage, I thought it is me, but my girlfriends K10 (that was bought at the same time) also suffers the same issues so it seems to be an LG thing...terribly slow phone overall sometimes...

  • Yes it does have NFC, it's right there on the drop down menu on your main screen.

  • What don't you like about it man? I normally have Galaxy's but this one looked good second hand for £95 so I gave it a shot. Had it for 3 days now and it does everything I've asked it to do so far. Screen quality is good, camera is brilliant and it runs all my apps and games quickly with no freezing or crashing. It is missing a couple of things like a gyroscope n stuff but that's only a small thing compared to the things it can do. Sorry to hear you're not liking yours, seems you'd probly be better off with a Galaxy S5 or newer although from what I've seen second hand models are still pretty pricey coz Galaxy's tend to age well due to all the tech they cram into them. Basically if you're on a budget and want a phone that looks good, is easy to use and has most of the things that the more upmarket phones have then the LG K8 isn't a bad buy. Look on the bright side, at least it's not an Alcatel 😂

  • No NFC

  • Phone sucks man! I really regret buying this phone! Not worth the penny

  • I;ve had it for 4 months and it is very slow and laggy.. Better as a replacement or for an old person that wont use a lot of apps. the design and camera are good tho 02212754331774445475579

  • Am sim card is not working in this phone, from zambia

  • This phone is very laggy and won't open the camera on the apps like instagram. I only use it cause I'm poor

  • LG X240k(K8 2017) available in my country .I want to know has it mediatec processer or Qualcomm snapdragon 450 processer? Plesase help me.

  • Actually I have it and It has Android Nougat

  • it's have not Android 7.0 it's have Android 6.0 please give us a new OS update

  • X240 will get nougat?

  • good phone but overheats sometimes and smashes easily

  • the mobile is good and everything but I hate the system because it has no features like themes and wallpapers and stuff like that

  • dont buy this bull shit mobile, dead slow and most of times its stopped working like a cheap mobile, hey LG better you stop producing mobiles you are no that much big deal in that

  • LG K8(2017)

  • I was not able to find this model in the official gorillas glass site. Please provide evidences that is equipped with Gorilla glass.

  • go in settings look for storage and select sd card

  • some one can help me ...I want that the video and others files be saved and stored SD card, how I do to change the save location

  • The X240 model comes with marshmallow. It has a small heating issue with battery draining problem while data connection is on and it takes more than 3 hours to full charge. Average phone for basic purpose or secondary use. But does it support OTG?

  • Hey, I'm buy that mobile yesterday. I have problem with software because that mobile have 7.0 system, but in my is 6.0. I don't upgrade system, I have only 9-10 language in options... ????

  • Right I use it as my every day phone it isn't laggy it runs very smoothly make sure you are not getting muddled up with other phones cause this one is HIGH quallity

  • This is a laggy phone

  • if you have a fingerprint sensor

  • no

  • this phone got stuck pixels in screen) very weak disply it have been broken in the first week (sorry for bad english

  • no it doesn't

  • Do its have fingerprint sensor ?

  • My friends who buy this phone got stuck pixels in screen(sorry for bad english)

  • Screen overlay detected problem Im fed up with it.

  • One of the best mobile in this price.

  • Please don't by this LG K8 model Very Heating mobile.

  • Helo. How I can find GPS on this phone ? Thank you.

  • EDIT: X240AR seems to be X240H with the model name changed. But video recording maxes out at 720p for the main camera and 480p for the front camera. Even though I like my phone, I'm disappointed that video recording isn't 1080p for both cameras. I checked the specs with GSMArena before buying.

  • Well, I have a K8 2017 model X240AR (not listed in the site, assembled in Argentina) and it came with Marshmallow. Nougat update is not still available for my device (probably because it's carrier branded and my mobile operator must approve it first). But I must insist: it came with 6.0. You can tell it's a 2017 model K8 because it has a round camera lens and unlock buton (an unlock button on the back side and placed near the camera lens. What a stupid idea). Plus it has a silver loudspeaker and looks very different to the 2016 version.

  • You have LG K8 2016. LG K8 2017 has Nougat 7.0 preinstalled.

  • The problem is that it is not updating its system to new android versions like noughat.and Oreo .So I request the authorities to look into the matter.

  • This phone comes with Android 7 out of the box. Maybe you have the K8 (2016) version. If you have the 2016 version go to setting then about system and there should be an option sayin System update or something like that.

  • Ok, every phone has its ups, and downs, I've owned at least one of every major phone brand (LG, Motorola, and Samsung) they all heat up, not his LG phones this LG k8 2017 is a good phone for 40 bucks, don't discount a device just because it has flaws, because as I said every phone, every brand, or model has its flaws.

  • Phone is awsm but can i upgrade it to 7.0. How can i update I dont know

  • Please do not conclude that every LG mobiles are crap because they have got some bad products. I had an LG Optimus and it worked absolutely fine for 3-4 years, it was the best mobile so far to me.

  • Got this phone for about 4-5 months. It's pretty good phone for the money. Unfortunately, it does heat up sometime (in its defense it was very hot this summer), also apps crash from time to time...

  • nice smartphone,no hang ,smooth and simply handling phone

  • Hahahha .if u dnn like dnn buy....did anyone told u to buy.....why do u go for k10....moto fan boy...u can buy MOTO M the great shit ever in phone industry

  • I BOUGHT AN LG -X240 dsF in Colon, Panama. I am in doubt about this cell es original or is a clon. One of the characteristics or properties that I suspect about is the expandible memory. My cell is using a 64 gb Micro SD memory instead of 32 gb, which is the maximum size accepted according to what this website shows.

  • All LG phones are crap. I had two G series phones G2 & G3. Recently a K10 2017 All are utter shit. Now i will not buy anything other than Motorola.

  • Superb looking...camera superb

  • I got this for 110 euros in Iran, and I absolutely love its features for this price. I wanted an android until new iphone comes out, so there it is.

  • It serve its purpose, thats why its cheap. Quality on another hand is so/so

  • It's a great smart phone. Just love it.

  • You should have just updated the G Flex 2 and the problem would have gone away! Great phone. Loved it!

  • Lg is well known for overheating. Look this from brighter side. You can cook meal on it. I once cooked a coffee on LG G Flex2. It was superb, done in 5 minutes. If you want to cook something, just go to google play and start updating apk. Dont forget to plug charger, battery drains very fast, like 30 % in 5 minutes

  • Well if he got a defective product then all of them are defective because mine it happens the same the battery is the worst. They gave me a new phone and still does the same. Gets pretty hot.

  • You got a defective unit, that could happen to any product from any company. That comment is out of place, will be different if this was a recurrent problem to that specific model.

  • My mother and I each got one of these phones and they are both horrid, bringing them back, they heat up to untouchable after short time use, have to charge everyday even with light use, blink in and out while talking like your driving out of range but we are both sitting home in total working zone.did I mention it only rings for some of the incoming caĺls. Needless to say very disappointed ready to cancel whole plan

  • And they simply couldn't make it less than 5", no, they had to ruin it and make it unwieldy.

  • :O

  • How can i put back the sound on its earpiece and speaker ? I can only hear sounds if i turn the loud speaker if i am calling and insert the headset if i am going to listen music

  • k8 2017 otg supported...

  • hello,hav you k8(2017) support OTG or NFC ?????

  • I'm using that phone and the phone is having problems. the phone was being slow so i hite the power and restart botten and now it's just loading and not going to the main screen like it's suppose to do

  • I'm using it it's having problrms ,the phone was being slow so i pressest the power and restart button on the screen and now the phone is just continuously loading and not going to the main screen. so what can i do?

  • my lg k8 2017 is acting up i should get all the single bar and im just getting one bar it should work out in the country but it dosent it sucks i shouldnt got it

  • yu9

  • have heard this k8 2017 has some kind of software bug.it closes some apps automatically without your permission ...if someone is using this phone please let me know if u have encountered with such an issue or not..thanks

  • For what I've gathered from a certain review, it's a good phone overall. Screen: Low brightness level, color temperature is on the colder side, decent viewing angles. Performance: Surprisingly decent, GPU is not future proof but gaming performance is okay. Cameras: Quite a decent pair, main camera sometimes has autofocus issues, captures good detail in daylight. Front facing takes sharp photos, very grainy in lowlight. Battery: Full day with heavy use, light users can get up to two days worth.

  • Which is the part number of battery?

  • how about the phone ? is it good ?

  • I think it's still not available in the Philippines I got one but just bought it way back abroad I tried to check for any available here on the Philippines but still no other avail here

  • Just got my lg k8 2017 on ee it was a great price for a five inch phone its sim not heavy and has tap too wake and turn off the screen which i love also has lgs knock code for security its a great phone for the price im just getting used too use it ill up date on battery life and gaming later but so far seems great value.

  • Is it available at philippines now?

  • Correct it does not, just found this out for myself looking at it in store, very deceptive LG

  • i wait this device ship to indonesia,

  • This handset doesn't have a fingerprint sensor.

  • They arrived in my store today also. I think the "titan" part is referring to its colour. As it's the only handset we have that doesn't have the colour or name of colour.

  • these started arriving in my store today, the line item on the delivery docket is called a "K8 TITAN" Calling a phone of such paltry spec a "titan" is a bit rich.... Hoping it doesn't have the same signal issues as it's predecessor.

  • Thank you!

  • Does the Aristo come with a Document Viewer installed?

  • You're wrong. Sorry, but this phone here is just now launching as the LG Aristo with both MetroPCS/T-Mobile with better specs/camera resolution. Try again Buddy.

  • this model has not yet begun to sell. Probably, you have last year's model

  • don't like it at all wish id never hadit

  • I have had the phone for about two weeks and in my opinion, it is not the best but it is not the worst.

  • Sorry but your comment is a joke. How can you compare chinese brands like lenovo, xiaomi and even huawei with the rest of the much bigger brands in mobile industry? Ofcourse chinese cell phones are way cheaper. Because they dont have a big trustfull brands behind like samsung and lg, or htc and sony.

  • This phone is just about as pathetic as the K4 which I just commented on. I didn't notice the useless SD card capacity of only 32 GB. I said on my comments on the K4 that I recently bought the Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime, a much better phone for only $137. I should have said that it has an SD card capacity of 256 GB on top of 32GB built in. LG's offering is a joke by comparison. If you like 5 inch phones and want something a bit higher end, the best deal right now is the Lenovo Zuk Z2, the 5 inch one which is on sale at $199, not the Z2 Pro which is 5.2 and more expensive. The Z2 has SD 820, 64GB ROM and a 3500 mAh battery plus a global ROM with multiple LTE bands and no Chinese apps. Unbeatable!

  • Hi Card slot, up to 32GB! Not enough! Otherwise, mediocre but not bad
