This is a nice phone. But low sound. And touch sensitive very poor. But I like it. It s user friendly. working 8GB micro SD cards. Nice key pad. powerful flash. smoothly slider. Fast internet browsing. quality 3G cam. 3.0 MP nice quality auto focus camera. That,s why I love it.! I recommended it, if u don't want loud sound experience.

This is Cell is nice, and i using for the past 6 months, the only thing is its speaker very low sound, but its picture quality is good.

I don't think you can bring up a full keyboard with typing messages. The only thing you can do in terms of bringing up buttons on the screen are bringing up numberpad when the slide is closed on the dial a number screen. Otherwise there is no way to bring up any on-screen buttons.

My LG was problem could not switch on and nobody could not repair it, they just tell me rubbish thing, hopely I have to keep this phone unsure and never used again.

this phone is the worst phone on the planet. i had mine for like 6 months and the sensor for the touch screen has completely gone & the cost to repair it is almost as buying a new phone. while i had it i could not have accessed my voice mail. the tough pad is slow like hell.the battery life is a waste of time. it probably should not have even came with a battery because it is almost as if it didn't. this is just a waste of money

well i had this phone for about a year and yes the texting did get a bit slower however to be honist i think most phones do. i have had loads of phones and this problem occurs around the one year period.

The T9 Dictionary in the phone auto stores things within the phone including improper/Misspelled words. How do i go into the T9 dictionary and Delete words that i do not want in there so they do not hassle me while i text? is this possible ? if not is there away to reset it so it deletes all words?

This phone is absolute crap, I bought it less than a month ago, kept shutting down and restarting, touch screen isnt good at all non responsive or slow to respond to the touch, limited features, SMS is awful, T9 recognition is awful, the accesories it came with broke, my charger literally fell apart without doing anything, has absolutely no themes except for two features, the screen proportion to the keypad makes it too big and therefore quite ugly, the navigation features are so pointless, battery life is poor, doesn't last for long if you txt alot..say about 4-6 hours, the headphones are cheap quality, fell out into pieces while taking it off!I've had a few LG phones and it's safe to say LG should NOT make phones at all almost like these phones are made out of the scraps of other good quality phones, my recommendation would be HTC, Sony Ericsson or Nokia!oh and after 2 months the screen cracked!so bye bye LG never getting you again..stick to making refrigerators thanks!

the LG KF700 is really cool. It has heaps of great features and is really thin and lightweight. The three input methods: the scroll wheel, touchscreen & keypad, are good for people who don't like typing on a touchscreen and LG have put an SD memory card slot on the top of the phone for easier access. This phone has a great, slim design and great Bluetooth. Although this phone does not have WIFI internet connection, it is a great phone that everyone will love and want to have and for such a great phone, it is low cost as well so everybody wins with the LG KF700.

i got this phone for Christmas, and i love it! it has good features and the only thing that isn't so good for me is that it is slightly slow on going through pictures. My sister had one too, but unfortunately she dropped it in the snow... but we found it a week later and it still worked!! but now it cracked on the inside screen so she can't use it . But it is very good for me and the camera isn't bad. So if you do get this phone then a tip is to not leave it in the snow! :)

Yes you can use mp3 files are sms alerts. I recently installed some iphone icons in this phone and it works just like iphone. Had this phone for 4 months now and iam very much content with this phone. Only let down is the battery life which will only last for a day and half when in UMTS mode.....other than that a great phone for its price

the touch screen is great! user frienly operational! and several small application is great too, but the internet had a small appereance so you must use stylus pen to pick a menu or link wicth lg didnt provide it. you have to wait for 1 minute to see your songs track if yohave more than 100 songs, and the video too, and i cant changes my themes other than lg provided wicth theres only 2 themes black and blue, and the batteray only last day coz theres only 900 mA, and if you had a picture and video more than 1 Gb you can view your image through album after you take a picture coz its took 2 minute to open it, so my opinion is lg kf700 had a problem with speed, its very slow like turtle, i miss my nokia!

the battery would last for only a day if you use it heavyly. The camera and the LCD is particularly battery draining. but if you use it moderately just for call and text it would last for 4 to 5 days. One thing, you can improve the battery life by charging it before the battery become low. In my case I charge it everyday even if it is still half full.

hey thought i would tell you that you can write messages on the screen. you can bring a full qwerty keyboard up on the side of the screen !!! it is sweet! love this fone. there are not many left because LG have stopped making them SO GET IN QUICK AND GET ONE BEFORE YOU MISS OUT!!!!!

The battery i got with this phone was useless. It would only last for two days max without using UMTS. The batteries arent easy to find as nokia batteries. But i have managed to find a 1000maH battery and ive been using it for the last two day sand it still has all three battery meters!! The battery i got with the phone was 900MaH

yes it is full touchscreen you cant write messages on the screen though thats what the numbers are for :) i have it its a bloody awesome handset its not as quiet as people say it is turn on the outdoor profile and everything becomes louder regardless of volume.

Hey, i just got the KF700. After charging for about 2hrs 30mins, it says that the battery is full but a previous post says that for the first charge it should be charged for 13hrs otherwise the battery life would be very poor.

Hi - I have concerns about what you said about the screen dimming too quickly. I have experienced this with the Nokia 3120 classic and really hate how fast the screen dims to "ghosted" (approx. 5 secs or so). How serious is this "screen dimming" would you say? -When I have an incoming call on my SonyEricsson handset, regardless of which profile I am using, I can silent the phone by pressing the hash key (so it does not ring or vibrate), then I can decide without stress to answer or reject the incoming call. There are also some advantages which I forgot to mention, viz the radiation (Specific Absorption Rate) of KF 700 is very low, just only 0.36. This is very good when compared with, say, SE G900 which is as high as 1.47. Moreover, the response of the screen is very good.

I bought a KF 700 about one month ago. The monitor is extremely power demanding. I used the factory setting and talked a few calls, took a few photos with flash and listened about 1 hr mp3, it lasted less than one day and needed recharging! Secondly, it is easy to accidentally touch the screen when using a certain function. This will interrupt the function in use and change to other undesired function. Moreover, the monitor becomes dim very soon so as to save power. This means that one needs to touch it again and again from time to time in order to makes the monitor visible if he wants to continue to use it. The photos� quality (3.2 M) is much worse than the ones taken using SE K750i which the camera�s pixels is 2M only! I missed my K750i very much. yes it does have a lock on the side of the phone, as somebody has a viewty phone in my family, but i have done a lot of research on this phone nd it is a lot like the viewty phone, but the camera isnt what the phone concentrates on, on lots of reviews they say it has more memory- lg kf700, as it also has a music player and is 3G and the viewty phone isn't a 3Gphone. i would recommend a lg kf700 and i might get one of those soon as i know alot about it!

It's easy to text if the cell phone has a keypad (KF700) but viewty has more and better features. You may feel uncomfortable with a touch when you text. Cant type fast.

This phone is absolutely terrible! Finally today, 02 have agreed to replace it (for the 4th time) with a new phone, so im going for the c905! The battery life is rubbish, lasts about 24 hours unless you have power save on, then it might last 2 days, (as long as you don't use it for games, camera, texting, calls.. etc) I NEVER have a signal with this phone, the main reason for me spending so much time talking to 02 for a replacement. sometimes it thinks im on vodaphone, sometimes says 3g, most of the time it says theres no signal (and ive had 3 of these now, all the same) This morning i got 10 text messages from the past few days that the phone didn't bother to tell me about. kindly whilst i was asleep. I wouldn't say the camera is anything to shout about, no zoom. not brilliant quality pics. internet is very slow, most pages take a long time to load. the film for the screen to protect from scratches always peel away after a few week. takes a long time to boot up. no arrow keys for editing whilst text messaging! this i found a problem trying to get the touch screen to put the cursor in the right place to edit. FM radio only works if you have the earphones plugged in. and the earphones that comes with the phone are not that great. basically... don't get this phone. waste of time and money.

i thought this was great at first, easy to use and a bit 'differant' that was until i tried to play music on it, on the w910i i had i could play music for 8-9 hours non stop and still have at least half battery left, but on this it was more like 2 hours, if that. this a disappointing successor to the viewty, now there was an impressive phone, it had the on screen keyboard which this misses, and the camera is way too sensitive to shake

Hello, Had this phone for a week and its really good. The camera is good - but no zoom when taking the photo. Sounds is clear, and internet browser is early useful (prop internet but also has wap). Ive never had the prob off phone crashing when writing a txt if a txt comes in, so maybe it was updated? It is so far the best phone I have ever had, the battery seems to be good - I charge it every week like my old Samsung E720 and I have above average use. Ive put on power saving mode and turned off keypad and backlight after 10 secs so it helps the batt more. In reply too backinhumanform msg: The texts are when they arrive on the phone - I charged it last night and when I switched on at 10pm a text form 8pm came through saying 8pm. Steve

Got this phone on upgrade from mobile provider. Seemed okay at first, but then about five minutes after I switched it on, signal would go, and could only get Emergency Calls Only, which is no good to me whatsoever as I need to be able to be contacted by family in emergencies. Also texts were taking for ever to come through, probably due to no signal mind you. Contacted mobile provider, explained the issue, and as I said I was not happy with the phone, a doorstep swap has been arranged for this week but not to the same phone as they are out of stock and not getting them back in. Would I have another LG Mobile phone? Going by this experience I don't think so, I will probably stick to Nokia or Samsung for any future upgrades.

Hey, I just got this phone as well and for the most part it's a pretty funky alternative to the iPhone which I'm over now and after hearing about all the NON-functionality it has. Anyway, I've got some queries/bugs(?) that I've seen and wondering if anyone else has seen or if it just needs a firmware update (not that one exists on the LG site). I hope you other owners can shed some light on:- A) When I add recipients to an sms you can't delete a recipient once you've chosen it. I accidentally added an incorrect contact and all I could do was get options to just keep adding new recipients even in edit mode. Touch-screen didn't allow editing of the field or any other delete options (other than cleaning up recently used numbers) B) Has anyone noticed a limited SMS Alert message time? I have a tone that goes for about 30 seconds, but when I get an sms it only goes for 5 seconds then stops, plays normally in the media player (it's an AMR file btw). Can't see any options that would truncate the message... C) Probably more a generic query, but previously had a Nokia 7390 and between Nokia PC Suite and LG PC suite, managed to import Contacts, Todo and Calendar to and then from Outlook, but wondering if there's anyway to get your sms messages (inbox, sent items) across? In the pc suites I see they both use .vmg files, and they can be copied to your PC, but no real allocated folder to copy them to on the phone (even using the "physical" folder on the PC that LG PC Suite looks at to synch with phone didn't recognise the Nokia files) Errrm, otherwise, fantastic phone!! :-)

After about 2 months from my last comment, I notice that the phone will crash once in a while right after you end a call. It doesn't always crash while texting and receiving a incoming text. The reception is mediocre, doesn't work well in elevators. I had a Sony Ericsson last year and never had the issue. Question, what type of battery did your phone come with? Mine came with a Lithium Ion 3.7 900mAh. Probablly the reason why the battery life's crap. In reply to the person wanting to know the price, I paid $210 US dollars for it back in June of 2008 so.... go figure. By the way, here's a secret that not a lot of people know. When you open a contract with T-Mobile in the USA, ask the person, how much rebate do you get. If he says none, time to go somewhere else. =)

Can someone who owns this model please tell me about texts. If I switch the phone off for a number of days, there will be maybe 10 text messages waiting for me when I switch it back on. Will these messages be stamped with the time of arrival, or the time they were sent? The reason I ask is because I had a Nokia E51 which had this problem (i.e. messages were stamped with time of arrival, which is of no use to anyone, IMO), its annoying.

Very average phone. Great for useability but the reception is the worst of any phone I've had and it isn't down to my service provider. I've been with o2 for about 5 years and never had this problem. Battery life is pretty good, It will endure a day of constant phone calls and although the battery is near enough flat by night time, there arn't many phones that could exceed it.

I've had the phone for less than two months now. One growing concern is that the slide is getting flimsier by use. The phone will crash if you receive a text while entering your message via-texting. The KF700's battery life is very poor. Approx. 2-3 hours talktime. Aside from those, with frequent charging, it's a very nice phone.

You can lock the screen using the locking button on the side of the phone. I got this phone last week and although its good, was a bit disappointed with the feel of the phone when the keyboard is slid down. The top part feels too loose for my liking. Its basically similar to the viewty just a bit slimmer and longer. It feels a bit heavier also. Battery life is fantastic!! Charged for 12hours 1st charged and only went flat after 4 full days useage. Text messaging isnt that easy because of the very flat key board but its acceptable and ill get used to it. Overall a great phone.

the only reason yur bloody signal is dismal... is yur service profider! yu shud have checked the signal before yu pruchased the phone! every network offers a network signal checker, if yu use it nd dnt get a signal, yur covered in the insurance, however... if yu dnt use it, yu cant cancel the contract. so its yur own fault, and i dnt think yu charged the phone for the recomended 13hrs for the first charge! thts also why yur battery sucks!

I got the LG KF700 today and love it! The Wheel at the back on the side is so much better that my U990 Scroll wheel. If you are on the homepage, you just press the little button below the scroll wheel and it brings up a shortcut list and then easily scroll to whatever you want. You can also customize the list and have stuff you will use in it. The camera is only 3 mega pixel but the flash is fantastic! The design is a lot nicer than the U990 and i must admit LG have done a real nice job with everthing in this beauty.

Little correction - you can use virtual keyboard in "search in contact" mode - all you need is to touch text area and voila! virtual keyboard is here.

edmont, actually you can use virtual keyboard only in three cases: 1) to make a call (only numbers) 2) to fill textbox field in internet browser (full qwerty keyboard) 3) in java applications on bottom side appears virtual D-pad (i.e. arrows, left menu key, right menu key, etc) No SMS writing, no enter new contact, no search in contacts - in these cases you just must open slider :(

The LG Secret is much better than the KF700. It has a better camera and an auto rotate sensor.

Does anybody know what the video recording capabilities are on this phone? I.e resolution, fps, video format etc. How does it compare to the Viewty and Nokia N95?

This phone is more like LG Viewty wif new adobe flash UI which is slightly different from Viewty and Keypad. Camera is 3.2 mp instead of 5 mp. Keypad is there but not QWERT like Viewty. Only available on o2 which is again a bad thing for LG.

i've had this phone for one full month on O2 service and i absolutely love it. i was hesitant at first because of the LG brand but now i am so glad. it is by far very intuitive phone ever (apart from 2G iphone). With Google map on this device on HSDPA i never get lost anymore. Overall rating 10 out of 10

My wife and I have had one of these each for just over two weeks. Verdicts...battery life very poor and mximum ringer volume is ridiculously low....just awful. We're now waiting for a call from O2 to see if we can change phones. Has anyone else experienced the low ringer volume?..any help gratefully received!!!

some dude: i got to play with a KF700 in our local O2 store. It is very very well made. Slider mechanism better than any Nokia, Samsung or SE. Go try it. My only real gripe with the phone is that unlike the SE P900 series, you cannot press / click in the nav wheel on the back to select an item. You use the wheel to browse through things, but still have to confirm your selection by pressing a separate button below the wheel. This means you have to move you hand, making the process inconvenient. I get so frustrated when a manufacturer doesn't think a good idea through. Am going to wait for the 3G iPhone, but if it doesn't deliver then it's this or the Viewty for me. (Or even a current gen iPhone as Apple did get the GUI right first time, unlike Samsung and LG who cannot make up their minds.)

I have had the phone for about a week now and am finding that the touchscreen doesnt recognise certain inputs (e.g. pressing inbox, it takes you to sent messages) - does anyone else have this problem / is it a fault or does it need to be reset?

It would be nice with a WVGA screen. It's already widescreen, but 854x480px would make this phone PERFECT! And yes, there is a difference - I'm using a WVGA device right now and would never go back.

I think this phone is nice but i find it quite ridiculous that it slides vertically instead of horizontally, i swear id be scared if i saw that im sure it would look like a lethal weapon

Just received this phone as an upgrade on my O2 contract. First impressions are pretty favorable, not as easy to navigate as an iPhone, but easier than the majority of the phones I've owned. Touchscreen is good, but not perfect, but thats more due to the small(er) screen size than anything else really. Overall, good phone, need more time with it to make sure, but I don't see it being a problem.

Is this handset compatible with Micro-SDHC cards? I understand that they use a different formatting system to standard SD cards and that not all devices are compatible with them. Does anyone out there know?!

the phone looks pretty slick, but it as it`s disadvantages at some points i guess. i have loved and owned my nokia 8800 for some while now not because what the phone can do , but what the phone feels and looks like. this i think will be a perfect upgrade from my 8800 because it will have all the things that my kick ass slick stainless steel 8800 as, but still does`nt look as slick as my 8800 which is a far cry . but hell i guess i gonna put my 8800 into the hall of fame as the nicest phone i ever owned maybe not the most intelligent one of its time but it holds mass appeal for me still.

At the risk of being slammed... they have choosen the keypad as a lot of people didn't like the fully touchscreen aspect of the U900. It was a very difficult way to text for speed messagers. This way they have combined 3 input methods, the spin wheel, touchscreen and keypad. Personally I would prefer this phone due to usability. LG have certainly done their market research. As for the wi-fi... definatly lagging behind!

I'd say EDGE is more like living in the past. People use HSDPA nowadays and this phone supports it. it's 3rd generation communication buddy.

These guys at LG are still living in the past two years. The Bluetooth is 1.2, no Edge and no wi-fi, I even think the OS is bad or not advanced. Still have a lot to learn in the mobile industry.
