  • This is my first android. Actually this phone is not on my list. On my list, there are 2 phone at the same range price, galaxy W and LG Optimus black. I'm interested to HTC one V too but the price bery expensive at that time compare to 2 phone on my list. Before i decided which phone i bought, the seller offer me the brand new launched phone, its called LG L7 with the same price but bigger screen size. At that time, LG L7 with 4.3 inch feels really big to me. It took long time to me to decided which one should i bought, phone on my list or the phone that just offered to me, L7? I'm so confused so i go back home with no one phone i bought. But one day after that, i go to the store and finnaly choose L7 as my first android phone. Its about 300 dollars. Its a good phone... But for now, it's not worth it. Now, my L7 is stolen. I have samsung J2 now. More cheapper, but less laggy than L7. And battery life is more more better than L7. When i see on gsmarena, most of samsung phone has better battery life than LG phone for now. And because of that i think i wouldn't buy LG phone anymore. Sorry bad english.

  • I'm using a lg p705g and its extremely laggy. I have deleted pretty much everything and restarted the phone but no difference. It is a nice phone and have it for 3 years. Now I've switched over to Samsung S4 and it didnt run into any problems.

  • Have been using this thing for 3 years, so here it comes: 512Mb RAM is too less really, even for the stock Android ICS. It won't be laggy at first but it goes to hell pretty fast as soon as you start installing your own apps. After first 6 months of use it became unbearably slow, I couldn't answer calls bc it just hang up while ringing. Got fed up, installed CyanogenMod KitKat and rolled with it for 2 years. Many apps didn't work and it was buggy but at least It wasn't that slow. Battery is decent. It can hold the phone alive for 3 days, just don't browse web and play games all the time. The phone doesn't look bad, but the shiny frame coating WILL peel off. Display is pretty good for a budget phone, rear camera is 5Mp - sort of *meh*, I used it to snap some documents and text I had to keep in mind, but for pictures - hell no. The front "selfie" camera is utter garbage. The verdict - I wouldn't buy it again, but if I had to - I'd either install a custom ROM or do a factory reset every 3-4 months to keep it usable.

  • Just reset one - hold power, volume down, then hold menu(right lcd key), release power at vibration, and hold other keys 2-3 seconds, then release all, should give you an android guy

  • This phone is not worth using since it has 512MB of RAM. I recommend getting a more updated phone. I used to have this phone and I have been wasting my time trying to speed up the phone, and it's still slow.

  • I've had this phone for 3.5 years and I finally have replaced it today. First of all : This phone on stock rom is laggy as hell and you can't do anything to fix it. LG put way to heavy skin on top of that weak single core 1GHz processor. Your only way for fixing this issue is by rooting and installing custom rom. After a lot of testing and changing roms I would recommend : SlimBean 4.1.2 Link to ROM and instructions :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?­t=2282245 It's lightweight - only ~90 MB compared to other roms( 200+ MB) On this rom you can overclock ( and you should ) cpu on 1.3 GHz and you can also do some other kernel stuff that will improve it's performance. In order to keep this phone lag free on this rom you need to have at least 60 MB of RAM ALWAYS free. ( You can check RAM in Apps - Running and you should see free RAM ). Also on SlimBean 4.1.2 camera has focus issues and to resolve you need to install an updated kernel ( link to it should be on the same page I've had left ) Also you should stay away from heavy apps like : twitter, google chrome, facebook, messnger ( facebook) I recommend installing : Facebook Lite ( for FB and messages), Opera Lite for browsing ( in case of needing a more powerful browser the built in one should be enough) and Instagram is light app so you can use it too. Now general opinion of the phone - Screen : is okay, good enough for it's job, barely enough bright to be used in direct sunlight(but it's doable ), view angles are fine - Battery : should be good enough for a day ( if you install rom I linked before - you should set performance mode to SmartAssV2 - it uses almost no battery while on standby ! ) - Performance : 1 GHz singlecore is dated and don't expect too much from it - basic tasks should be just fine but anything heavier i.e. Gaming is a no go ( some light games are fine, thou ) - Design : It's beautiful phone. It's slim and light and tough( I've dropped it from around 1.5m and nothing happened to it - maybe just luck, thou) - Storage : 4 GB ( ~ 2GB for user ) - you need an SD Card, period. - Volume/Sound : it's okay, not too loud - and quality is decent/good for daily use. Headphones/Earbuds work without any problems. - Camera : Back -it gets the job done, low light is quite bad and on good light is okay, as I said it gets the job done. Front - VGA quality, fine at good lighting but I would expect too much from it. - Call quality : it's good. BUT this phone ( or at least my unit ) can lose 3G (and at the same time not switch to 2G) and your left without phone signal - BUT keep in mind that - issue with signal and connectivity only occurred in MY HOUSE - which means that my house probably has bad 3G signal ( when I switch my phone manually to 2G - it never dropped a signal nor connection ) -> this is only to keep in mind if you have bad signal at your home/work. And that's it. I think I've said everything important about this phone. Good luck ya all folks ^^

  • I just recently had this phone after having it fixed at a repairshop. It's a good phone although sometimes it gets so slow especially when playing games and also when browsing the internet. I have no issues with that. My problem is that I dont know how to move the applications unto the SD card. Can someone please teach me how to move apps to SD card?   • I've had this phone for over 2 years now and it lags like hell. It started lagging from the second I bought it and it got even worse with the years. Sometimes when someone calls me I have to wait 10 second, because this phone can't load it's own screen. Also everything on this phone crashes (even the phone itself, like it gives out a message like "Windows phone has stopped working" or "Home as stopped working") and sometimes it doesn't want to load its keyboard. Also the phone takes about 5 minutes to turn on and off again. The only good thing about this phone is the camera, which has a great quality. But in the end I regret buying this phone, should have gone for Lumia 520.

  • I have had this phone for three years and have a few things to say about it. Some good and some bad. Good: decent screen, calls are clear, texting is the same as any other phone i've had (double, triple, etc. texts happen to all phones: if you're getting these constantly it's a software thing not a hardware thing in most cases), easy to use. Music sounds good withdecent headphones. Tough phone, I've dropped it many times with no case, I use it at work often enough. Battery life is good with watching video, calling, and texting but games and constantly loading web pages saps it within 6 hours of constant use. Bad: camera is difficult to aim steadily. L5 had better features in some areas ( like nfc feature). Not designed for gaming so apps run slow. (Whlie I'm on this topic Candy Crush runs background processes that force most processors to work at unreasonably high loads) TL:DR Good looking, tough phone with the two basics done right (calling and texting). Just don't expect fast app performance.

  • I've had this phone since 2013 December and it is just absolute crap. My text messages get repeated over 70 times for no reason, apps crash on me pretty much every day and there is slowdown pretty much on everything I do - game, listen to music, watch videos. Combine that with terrible battery life and you've got yourself one shitty phone. I strongly advise everyone to stay the hell away from this thing and save your money. You will be disappointed if you buy this.

  • Been using it for about 2 years and has its ups and downs. First off, it's cheap and very affordable. Second, average battery life of 1 day. The battery can last up to 50+ days if it stays running on flight mode. Third, smooth gaming performance for apps that are below 80 mb. Fourth, plenty of bloatware I had to manually remove/disable. 6/10

  • I was forced to get an upgrade via Metro PSC from my older LG optimus.. At first I was sooo happy, as it does all the stuff my older LG didn't. Well.. Come to find out it comes at a price of a small 2 gig memory, in which most is taken up from the OS, and necessary functional apps. I bought the SD memory card, and tried to put anything I can on the card.. Pretty much nothing except pics, and a random game (only have 4 small games) can be sent to the memory card. After of 6 months of owning it, I am s tired of seeing msg's telling me "you have 650 kb left" Ihave disabled almost all functions. 2 gig internal memory sucks.. The phone itself is good. Shame on me for not knowing what to look for..

  • Horrible phone. It was my only option at the time with my carrier and has a very laggy and unresponsive experience. If I could describe the phone in one word, I would say "Frustrating" because everything you try to do with it either takes an eternity or doesn't happen. I used this phone for 1.5 years until I got a nexus 5 last week which is light years faster.   • Actually, you don't need any PC program, because XP, Vista, 7, 8 recognize P700 as Portable Device with internal and SD memory (usually, any USB device is recognized as "Removable") and you can normally transfer files from internal to SD and vice versa.

  • Root your phone with Framaroot application (cannot be found on Play Store, but findable on Google). Choose "Gandalf" root and in one click, your phone is rooted. Then, install any CPU clock control app and set MIN 480MHz (stock 320), MAX 1008MHz. Also, I would recommend Greenify (root required) which will effectively shutdown all background processes. After I done all that I have 1 hang (or not at all) per day and no restarts at all, battery also lasts longer...

  • Motorola RAZR has 4000mAh battery, but it is very expensive. You are probably using your phone too much because mine lasts for about 2-3 days of casual usage and 1-2 days with decent gaming. I keep my screen brightness on 30%, that helped me a lot to save a battery, because the screen is consuming most of battery juice.

  • You cannot compare single-core with dual-core phones, especially Samsung. Galaxy S3 Mini has better screen (smaller, thou), more optimized OS, faster chipset (dualcore). It beats P700 in several ways.

  • If I understood correctly, you cannot attach USB drive to L7 because it doesn't support USB OTG (neither usb keyboard, controller or any USB drive can be recognized). Also, HD movies, unfortunately NOT. You can play them, but with 20lags/s. :S

  • Download Framaroot(google it!), move .apk file from your PC to phone (or download it directly with your phone). Install from .apk (make sure you have checked "Unknown source" in settings). Run the app, choose Gandalf option, phone should restart afterwards. Voila, rooted L7.

  • You wont void the warranty if you don't brick it and are able to put Ice Cream Sandwich back. BUT If you were to take it in on warranty for something other than software while its rooted, the work won't be carried out under warranty because you have tampered with it.

  • Ofc, this is good lesson for everyone how thinks that LG lies. All smartphone vendors actually put 512MB RAM chip inside, but all those phones (including the most-expensive ones) use some amount of RAM as hardware reserve or OS caching.

  • Hi it's widely known the OS and graphics chipset of smartphones use some of the available RAM leaving the user with an amount lower than in the spec (it's there but your phone is occupying it!). Do the research.

  • Solution: Setup the background process limit in Developer Option(by default, there is no limitation). If you choose 2 or 3 processes MAX, phone becomes faster. Also I would like to recommend rooting and setting CPU frequency from 480 to 1008MHz (default: 320-1008) because major error of this phone is its long time to recognize need for faster CPU clock (thats why it lags for about 10-15 seconds after you unlock it).

  • I brought my LG phone on 14th April 2013, and since then I haven't experienced many problems with this phone. The best feature about L7 is its camera. It is a very normal phone with a little boring interface. The worst thing about it is that it hangs while running multiple applications and the touch also isn't effective all the times. I would sum it up by saying its a quality phone and I am having a great experience with it but it could have been better.

I only have one problem, while using OC tools, especially governors, when I set any other except ondemand, it changes back to ondemand after few minutes. Also, if I set lower limit to 122 or 245MHz and ondemand governor ; after unlock, phone needs about 2 minutes to change from deep sleep to 1008MHz which is really annoying. How to solve that?

Solutions is : finding another app with same purpose (example: All-in-One Toolbox is great for P700 JB) which shows state changes correctly.

  • Same as on any Android OS, apps are stored on a memory of devices choice, usually, big apps are stored to SD and smaller ones on internal memory. Well, on L7 (ICS/JB), sometimes, apps are stored on both memories, which sucks, but you can't do anything about it without rooting it.

LG has released a software update for the L7 which will upgrade your phone from ICS to JellyBean with PojectButter UI. It's official. Trust me. I find almost no lag in my L7 now. I always have 130-140 MB Ram free when all apps are closed. Get the JellyBean update TODAY!

  • If u have 3rd party CPU state meter app/widget (as I do), it usually measures CPU usage correctly, but sometimes it happens that CPU clears RAM and causes CPU meter app to freeze in certain state, usually at 100% usage. If you restart the app, CPU measuring restarts normally.

Phone starts ringing, screen turns black, phone still rings, no buttons for answer/hang up and usually the one how calls, gives up, because phone rings without possibility to answer for about 20 seconds.   • "A lot" is a wide term. I have about 50 installed apps and 1GB free space (2.7GB total). Only problem can be with HD games which are measured in GBs. Usually you cannot play HD games without noticeable lags, so problem solved. For comparation, low-end phones (Optimus L3, Motorola XT320, ,Samsung Galaxy Mini I) have about 250MB of internal memory. That are types of phones on which many apps cannot be installed...

  • The problem is that any other smartphone can cause you various set of troubles (like exploding in your face, burn in flames or cause overall non-satisfaction). If somebody has a faulty unit, that doesn't mean that all units are faulty. I'm using L7 (P700) for six months (or more, I'm not sure) now and I am fairly satisfied. It has its bad sides but, generally speaking, it is a very good and affordable model from LG. Every single app that I installed on it works great, screen is awesome, camera is performing good, never had any connectivity issues, internet (HSDPA) is very fast. I even got iGO navigation which also works perfectly (without lags or GPS fix issues).

Now maybe you are not lucky and got a bad unit, do not mean the brand is bad, your posts are full of hate, you blame the agent who you couldnt find, you blame the brand, you blame the service centre, yeah u blame everybody and u r telling the truth!!!   • I am using LG optimus L7(Jelly Bean Upgraded version), its having a good IPS display,picture clarity and voice clarity is awesome.it also have long battery backup.The phone's touch is highly sensitive!.one problem i found is, it heats up sometimes. mainly while multitasking and webbrowsing.

  • What do you want? It's 140 euros. You can't expect the phone to run everything you can think of without being slow. I have it for a month now and I am satisfied. Camera is good, speaker too, games run smoothly. If you want a phone so you can show off, you'll have to spend a lot more money.

  • Download Clean Master,it will help you,if you dont have task manager.And when you restart your phone,or just turn off,you have to do it again,because phone will select Standard limit.

  • You have to update this phone to JB. First find your phone on lg web site,then product support,find software update,download driver,support tool,and you can do it for 30 min. You should open settings,then find Developer options,and then find apps,activate Dont keep activities,and for background process limit,select No background processes. After that,my phone is really fast.Games like Temple run,Subway Surfers,Real Racing 3,or facebook,skype, works properly,because there is more RAM memory.

  • This is in fact matter of your demands. If you want to play HQ games and do 10 more tasks at the same time, I wouldn't recommend it to you. If you are just average user who wants to have "big-screen" smartphone and don't want to spend a lot of money, this is phone for you. You should judge the comments of others by yourself. I just have to mention that many people lie and overrate their experience with L7. Mine L7 has its periods of slowness, but, for its low price and big, bright screen I cannot complain.

  • To all users complaining about lags, etc. - root, unlock and install SlimBean v3 ROM! (google 'SlimBean LG L7' in XDA site) This ROM is about 3 times faster than stock! Drawbacks?   • My LG -P705 running on Jellybean 4.1 does not have much lags problem. Perhaps you still did not update your OS to jellybean 4.1.2, that is why you still encounter so much lag.

  • This phone is great for its price and category. It feels good in the palm, the e-mail feature is great. It downloads office and pdf docs well and you can create or edit the ms office docs. battery life is good just for phone calls alone and just internet to receive and reply e-mail you can do 2 days if you do few minutes per call. I recommended it for simple users who need phone for e-mail and basic internet.

  • This phone is complete garbage with factory software. The quality control at the factory leaves much to be desired as well. My first one lagged to the point that I became so frustrated, I decided to throw it at the ground... VERY HARD. The second one I got (insurance covered it), the camera was broken from the factory. The third one I got, I rooted and started freezing applications with Titanium backup. It went from an unusable, laggy pile of garbage to an almost-tolerable phone that only lags/crashes 50% of the time instead of every time. If I ever regretted anything in my life, it was buying this phone. I am very disappointed with my purchase, and plan to never own one of these again. I deal with a significant amount of mobile devices, so I stand very strong behind my claims that this phone is better as a paperweight than a device you would rely on for anything else past a flashlight.

  • Well, background services are killing this phones memory. These are situations where another core is needed. At this moment I have 102MB free, When I open Skype or Viber, amount of RAM falls on 74MB and it fills little by little. When it reaches critical amount (10MB or less), phone becomes dead-slow and it starts to shutdown processes and services, even the app that runs in foreground (I listen music, music suddenly stops). I recommend that you uninstall apps that you don't use (especially those which are running background services).

  • Quite interesting. After upgrading to JB, all i can say us that performance did improve. Doesnt lag as used to with ICS. Its actually smooth 80% of the time.

  • There must be some tech issue with your ICS > JB upgrade, I notice no problems at all, just improvements, ROM remained as it was, 2.7GB in size. Same thing for RAM, about 387MB RAM, more free RAM on standby than on ICS. Visit service or something.

  • Every phone is slow if you overfill it with apps, especially with background service which apps cause. Generally, on JB, phone is the quickest in its range (sometimes quicker than dualcore Xperia U!), but slower than "famous" phones like iPhones, Galaxies, etc. Camera quality is drastically improved on JB, flash finally has its use (there was a decent delay on ICS). Apps work great, even the intensive-ones. Of course, because it is a singlecore, it has "flees" and sometimes can be dead slow and later on extremely quick. This was my user experience after 4 months usage. I am very satisfied. I would recommend it to everyone with shallow pockets.

  • Alright, so yesterday i installed Jellybean from this phone by flashing it with a hong kong verions v20c as Australia will not be getting the update because Optus seimply cant be stuffed security checking. Anyway i installed it and i have to say this phone turned into a dual coer beast. Games like temple run 2 and subway surf run with no lag. Os is now lag free and overall its awesome! And theres cool features like telling it to take photos. So if you are locked ot optus in Australia then go and download the Hong Kong version with the latest update. I downloaded v20c as that was the latest in Hong Kong. And my sim works perfectly.

  • L7 is an entry level model now in 2013 everyone should go with at least L9 or L7 II to get a great experience. If you want to compare to iPhone 5 you should be looking for more expensive and powerful phone than L7. Some games lag because of pure laziness of the developers to optimize it correctly with different textures to low-end models though it's not really the phone's fault.

  • Connect your phone to PC in LG software mode, install LG PC Suite and select to update it. You might get the official Android Jelly Bean update which will make it better.

  • I'm using Viber, Skype and Whatsup on my P700, no problems at all, application work normaly as on any other phone. I'm sure this must be some OS related or hardware related error, you should visit service for its repair. If you are too lazy to visit service, you can update it to JB, but I doubt that it will solve your problem.

  • Download Clean Master from the Play Store. Go in history -> privacy -> SMS and you'll be able to see the stuck message and delete it. Avast also has this option in privacy part of the app. Just check the app settings so it won't kill tasks automatically and don't let it clean your cache files, this is very unnecessary and may actually make your phone slower.

  • Skype definitely works. May crash if you have other apps running simultaneously. As a general rule this phone will run most common apps; just not while running anything else at the same time.

  • Shutdown as much background application you can (Viber, FB and other background service apps). That message is irrelevant, because P700/P705 actually has about 387MB RAM so when your memory will be around 320-330MB, update will go on.

  • Just bought recently the LG Optimus L7 P705 in Singapore. Cost only like Singapore Dollars $269 without any contract! I really like the design. It has a nice grip. Upon purchase the phone, it was upgraded to Jellybean straight away from the old ICS. Speaker was louder and screen was brighter (I was amazed by the screen brightness) in JB as compared to ICS. Unfortunately No FM Radio. It has 4GB built-in memory but can expanded via MicroSD. It also using the normal SIM, not the Mini SIM as claimed. Main camera is 5MPX with flash, has a front cam, but not sure about the pixels Interface was much better compared to ICS, but animations are not that smooth. Loading time was still OK. Overall, its a good phone if you're quite on a budget, or buying for your schooling kids.

  • This is the crap phone, I have never used such a worst phone in my whole life. Guys trust me china phones works better. It takes a fortune to open an app, takes agesto load simple applications like Whatsapp or even the contact list, if u try calling 100 to complain about a murder the calling screen will open only after the murdered persons cremation. This is the first time in my life that I have invested in such a stupid product. Moreover, whenever I drop into the customer care center to complain about a problem they start accusing us telling that we are not using the phone properly and they also claim that all smartphones are like this piece of crap.

  • As far as I know, P700 has no notification LED. For missed calls, unread messages and email you won't be notificated with its stock Dialer, Mail or Messages. For example, SMS popup app allows you to set unread reminder (sound notification every x minutes). I'm sure there are also few Dialer and Mail apps that do the same thing.

I live in Croatia (Europe) and I got JB update 2 weeks ago, phone becomes much smoother, 95% of laggs are gone, battery lasts at least twice longer (non-intensive usage). When you are trying to install an app, its size is divided between internal phone memory and external SD card. Technically, there is no any app2sd available that will be able to successfully move whole app to SD, even with root. What to say, LG logic.

  • If you are using Taiwan OS V10D, you should be able to upfate to V20A Jellynean Taiwan version either through OTA or via KDN flasher tool. However, you should be careful that once you have opfated to Jellynean. You cannot go back to Android 4.0 ICS..

  • I have this phone, it's not bad actually. I like design, and camera quality is pretty good too if you know how to normally take pictures.   • The reason it does so is because of the low ram and the heavy ICS system. The more applications you leave running in the background the more ram uses and thus it has to restart to clear memory. Also even if u dont have alot of apps in the background but it still restarts is because of the amount of social apps you have. When you connect to the internet it starts syncing all your social apps and google account which can use up your memory and thus you will see your phone beginning to get ultra laggy just like mine. And if you try to run apps while its syncing and you will know because the phone starts to lag then your device will restart. These are issues with the phone that LG better fix in Jellybean because ICS is a heavy OS for phones and the L7 really cant run it properly with the slow processor and ram. Other phones run it better with the same spec is because the phone manufacturer (HTC,Samsung...) take out those special screen scrolling effects and those extra heave system apps.

  • I agree with everything that you said. L7 has awesome hardware platform (not dual-core, but it performs outstandigly), but its software/firmware realization really sucks. OS sometimes behaves really unstable, games are lagging, but even with stock ROM and latest offical JB, it beats Xperia J (biggest problem of any device from Sony Xperia series is their overfilled OS, dozens of useless apps and background proccesses which slowes the phone down > LG is not far from that conclusion). I had Motorola Defy Mini as my first smartphone, now I got L7. Performance differences are unforeseeable. I am very satisfied with it and I would recommend this cheap device to any "big-screen Android" fan. You will not regret.

  • okay i got this phone for my main phone now so i gonna give a small quick review about spec and lag problem first the cpu MSM 7227A is based on cortex a5 cpu but real world perfomance and benchmark suggest it was on par with the scorpion snapdragon s2 and a single cortex a9 (wow) but... if the rom is good and optimized enough..... like on xperia J for example second ly the adreno 200 enhanced gpu is quite good do not confuse it with old adreno 200. The adreno 200 enhanced(ussually with tm mark) is overclocked/new design architecture. The perfomance is faster than the sgx 530@220mhz on omap 3630 that power lg optimus black it does even beat the old adreno 205 on xperia play with old gpu driver(gingerbread) and it's perfomance is near the overclocked sgx 531@300mhz on mediatek 6577.it's fillrate its same as the sgx 540 on hummingbird and ulp geforce in tegra 2, The main drawback its texturing perfomance is half of the adreno 205(GL benchmark). If you confused about what i talking about just search on google... but overal the gpu is not to be laugh about,it surely will run 90% games on google play. if that's the fact why LG optimus L7 lag in some aspect or maybe some games? good question.... why? because LG sucks on making a good optimized firmware/rom with good perfomance and that's since the lg optimus X2 the world first dual core android phone come to this world. first of all the stock ICS rom on lg optimus l7 is based on 4.0.3 its know for bad perfomance,if lg use 4.0.4 there will be a little lag problem and it will have a quite smooth perfomance secondly LG does have a bad ram management on these stock rom,after few hours opening and closing application the phone become slow and more slower and even it crashing some games and kick me to the home screen but with a restart sure will cure the problem. thirdly dont compare it with xperia J on term of perfomance,it beat lg optimus l7 on linpack(38 vs 25 LG L7) and even on vellamo(1000 vs 700 LG L7). Sony is optimizing the firmware on xperia J so it run smoothly and xperia J does run on 4.0.4 not on 4.0.3 like lg l7 do how to cure the problem? if you stay on ICS flash your phone to latest ICS update,root it and use supercharger or ram manager pro or you just flash your phone to Jellybean the V20A give you a great perfomance while the V20B give you good score benchmark(same level with xperia J)(havent try it just read from XDA)

  • In fact, it is recommended to restart Androids, iPhones and Win-phones from time to time. I experienced an issues which are happening if you do not do that. First thing, cache. Applications and OS itself are creating cached data which is growing through time until it reaches its maximum size(size differs from device to device). After that happens, phone becomes little slower. Also, important (non-killable) processes are using more and more RAM which also makes phone slower. When the RAM and cache are almost full, CPU has to do more tasks on-demand because memory is almost full. That keeps CPU constantly busy which makes your phone user-angry. When you do a restart, you sacrifice a little amount of battery but your phone can work normally. Maybe high-end phones do not need that, but I'm sure that medium and low-end phones can make use of restarting.

For those of you who cannot wait and would like to have a taste of Jellybean for their Optimus L7 but not yet available in their country can download the appropriate rom from the following site and flash it using KDZ flash tool. The rom version number is V20A. ­ I have downloaded the Asian rom and flashed it into my L7. I would like to contribute some user experience on the new features you can expect from the new Jellybean update for your L7. 1) New lock screen now with round short cut icons instead of square. 2) Phone app now have additional,editable and adjustable tabs. i.e. Dial, call logs, contacts, favorites and a new tab call "Group". Each of this tab can be edited now just like the power control toggle which also has a new look. 3) In Photo Gallery app. The pictures can now be arranged in grids (different rows and columns,from one column up to max. of 5 columns) by just pinching on the screen. Same feature used in Sony Xperia smart phone. 4) Messaging app has been greatly improved. It is now possible to change the skin in the messaging app. There are altogether 6 skins available, each skin has its own background wallpaper and colours for the messages. Also a new cool feature now available is that it is now possible to reply to any incoming messages at any home screen without opening the messaging application itself. When a SMS message comes in, a little messaging window will pop up on the left hand top corner of any home screen showing the incoming message. I only need to tap the empty slot below the message to reply directly to that message, without going into the messaging application. The keyboard will pop up immediately as soon as I tape the empty slot to allow me to type the reply to the incoming message. This is a feature that is not yet available in any other smart phones like Samsung, Sony, HTC and Motorola. 5) Press and hold the home button for 3 secs. now pops up the recent app. screen on which I can access the " clear all" function, task manager and Google now function. This feature is similar to that in the Samsung Galaxy S3. The above are just some of the new features I have found available in the new jellybean for the L7. There maybe some more new features to be discovered as time goes by.

  • Try to update to Jellybean OS. You will find a lot of difference. The battery back up is very good. The phone runs smooth and does not encounter any lag. There are some new features available now. You should upgrade to jellybean and try it yourself. Before I upgrade, I didn't like this phone much.   • Nokia X6 has flight/airplane mode, I just didn't have the need to use it. Some hardware differences between X6 and L7 are: L7 has bigger screen, NFC and memory card slot, on the other hand X6 has two loudspeakers which gives better sound quality, camera has better picture quality, dual LED, battery lasts longer and FM radio with RDS. There was a lot of apps available for downolad for Nokia, ones that I installed on X6 now I have on L7. Things that I didn't like on X6: as I already said � no memory card slot and out-of-the-box absence of apps which, for example, were preinstalled on dumb Nokia 6288 like measure converter or apps that were simply better on 6288 like calculator. That leads me to this conclusion: In order to be succesfull, operating system has to have a great ecosystem that consists of users and developers. I think that both OSes are great but Android is much greater than Symbian�for developers. For users it's just a key to an app store and here are few examples why I think so: Alarm � what would developers of apps you suggested do if you had an option I described Maps and navigation � what whould Sygic, iGO MyWay etc. do if you had preinstalled fully functional maps and nav like it was on Nokia App drawer � what would developers do if you had your apps organized like in Smart launcher or on Nokia. I'm aware of sorting apps in folders but it's not the same thing. Lockscreen � In my opinion it is just another obstacle and here is why: what i want with a simple push on a button a look on my locked homescreen which I populated with widgets of my interest like weather and agenda. Now, developers know of that problem so there are apps available for download like transparent lockscreen or lockscreen with widgets. Nokia X6 has physical unlocking switch which at first i thought it was kind of odd but now I think it was a good thing. Most of those apps costs money, not to mention data fees and lost time just to set up basic functions. That leads us to another question: how much money does Android phone, in our case LG L7, really costs? And here is another observasion: my wife owns Nokia Asha 300 and difference between Asha 300 and LG L7 in favor of L7 is: GPS, NFC, LED flash. Screen is questionable because it depends on ones taste � she wanted a phone with physical keyboard. She can surf the web, take pictures, share files all over the web, there are social network apps like facebook etc. And Asha 300 is a �dumb� phone. At the and I would like to give you a fun fact: computer that was used by NASA for calculations and launching during Apollo missions was, in hardware terms, very much like Nokia 3310.

  • Well i read all your comments guys and i am telling you i bought my phone about three months ago .. i am using a TSF Shell .. which is a very heavy launcher instead of the stock one .. i disabled most of the stock apps that i don't use like talk, google +, maps and even the contact App replacing it with a third party app... i tried using auto killing apps and it turned to be a battery eater in fact ... so i removed it after reading an article explaining what the RAM actually do (reducing battery draining) .. now whenever i leave my phone not using it (i turn off my data plan or WiFi) and using only gsm with this it doesnt drain any battery .. i used to take it off the charger and leave it and sleep for 7 hrs and wake up check my battery is still 100% .. if i had during asleep five or six missed calls .. i woke up to see the battery is like 99% .. (i have sounds up high and vibration is on) and if i left the Data on (facebook, twitter, email, sync, whatsapp, viber all on i find from 97-95 % battery ramaining i Only restart my phone once every two days .. i used to play on it games and use the internet and it lasts with me working time like 8-10 hrs ... before that it was only 6 hrs exactly

  • @bernard "Thing should be made simple, but not simpler than necessary!" Smartphones are "smart" for a reason - they are "smart" enough to run software. So almost anything you did with an old plain NOKIA some years ago now could be done on Android using some sort of a program. NFC was given just as an example of usage of advanced technology to your benefit. It was not the only and of course - not the best way - just one of the MANY approaches to the problem. Of course same events (flight mode + deep sleep + alarm ON), could be triggered by a simple press of a button - i.e. some Android application. 30secs on Google and here is one of the MANY such apps - "Sleep offline airplane mode" (check for this name in the market). So you install the app, when needed press its icon and your phone will go to deep sleep mode with all communications off and alarm prepared to wake you up. Please explain to me what is the difference between this and switchining the old NOKIA off?!? Or it is simply the fact that the old phones did not have "flight mode" and "CPU sleep mode"?

I'm asking you, and please be honest, which method is simpler: push a button and phone goes off or a method you described? I'm sorry, my friend, but with this android approach i feel that I've lost a little bit of freedom. And that is, to say at least, puzzling because android is built on top of linux kernel and under open source licence (I'm a linux based os user on my pc and I value freedom in software). But let's get back to the famous alarm problem: let's say I have to go on a trip. On a couple of occasions I forgot to pack my charger, and now I have to worry about NFC tag too? What if I forget both? I guess I'll just have to buy one of those old winding alarm clocks ;) Here is something for all of you to think about: I've posted this "problems" on a linux oriented website. One of the answers I got is that symbian is bad OS and it's market share is proof of that. Than I asked that person: if a quality of an OS is proven by it's market share does it mean that windows XP is the best PC OS there is, followed by couple of Microsoft OS-es and linux based OS is garbage? I'm asking you the same question: if android is best there is than why don't you (if you don't) use linux based OS on your PC? Or if Windows is the best OS why not use Windows mobile phone?

  • @bernard Regarding this "Phone Off - Alarm On" thingie... Do you have P700? If so simply use "the power of NFC". Set an NFC tag on your bedside table and program the NFC function for this tag on the phone to a) switch to "plane mode" b) kill all apps c) put phone in "deep sleep" mode Mission accomplished! Your alarm will sound at the correct time, but there will be no battery drain since all appls, WiFi and BT are off, and no "early bird warnings", because the phone module is off too :) I understand the Symbian approach - make the alarm clock separate from the operating system, but times change and this is already outdated - welcome to the new world of NFC :D

  • Try to imagine this: around 9.00 PM you switch off your phone, plug the charger in it, and, since it's off, it'll charge faster. After it's done, unplug everything, and you can go to sleep knowing that your expensive phone will wake you up in the morning and that you saved power and a small amount of money. And, as bonus, you eliminated the possibility of fire caused by overheating. Is that science fiction? Come on man, dumb phones can do it, symbian phones can do it, even a pc can be programmed to turn on at specific time. There is no chance that the phone consumes more power being turned off and, after 8 hours, turn on, than 8 hours in airplane mode.

First of all thanks for your advices, but what I wanted to prove when I compared Symbian Nokia X6 and Lg L7 Android is: What or how much did I get out-of-the-box? On Lg i got less. Do you remember when people complained about some features or lack of it on Apple phones? Apple's respond was: You are doing it wrong. Somehow I get the feeling that the meaning of some replies is just that: You are doing it wrong. But it doesn't matter because Jelly Bean is here!!! And you know what happened after I upgraded my phone? I opened application manager and among other apps recomended for installation/update there it was: stock, default whatever you want to call it: FILE MANAGER! I have tried it and it is nice, simple and intuitive. When you open it there are only two folders: internal and external card. You can't see hidden or root files just as it's suppose to be for everyday user. For people like me who likes to poke in every single folder, there are other file managers available, not to mention terminal emulator. Now I'm a little bit happier, but I still can't forgive alarm. t shouldn't be like that, that some piece of hardware determinates the way we live. Please, try to understand that people do not believe when someone says that mobile phone doesn't radiate when it is in airplane mode. Someone mentioned that most people charge their phones when they are asleep. That is waste of energy because even when the phone is fully charged, charger still consumes power.

  • LOL, Android smartphones are not meant to be turned off (restarted) so often. It wastes battery clearing RAM and reloading everything. Just keep it on with no data connections active and it won't waste many battery. Most people leave the phone charging overnight anyway. I'm sure your old Nokia can't run any of the new apps available for smartphones, be it Play Store or iOS app store, you can't compare multi-tasking and other features also. About the file management... I think dumb phones have gallery as part of file managers. Smartphones have the gallery separated to give it simplicity. You won't be 100% of the time organizing your folders and files anyway so just organize it sometimes when you need it and access the gallery normally. It isn't an extra step in any way on daily usage.

  • This alarm thing is very interesting, good to know, I am also the one that turns off the phone before taking a nap. Every phone on this planet turns on when alarm is scheduled. Android made a great mistake here. File manager? As far as I know, there is a stock file manager on L7, Polaris Office. With it you have access to both internal and external memory. Also it allows you to open any content stored and create folders or do any action with them and inner files (move, cpy, paste, delete, rename, etc.).

  • @Bernard For proper usage of external SD card - it had been mentioned several times in this thread - use the program RemountSD v1.3 As for file manager working with gallery - I'm using Root Explorer and anything I wan can be moved anywhere.

  • Thanks for the recomendation. I have already instaled NavFree but i'll try this one also. However, I have found a few more things that dissapoint me and that I simply cannot understand. One of them is moving apps to external sdcard. I've tried all the tutorials that I could find, rooted my phone but it's simply not possible. This is not just L7 thing but, according to this lot of android users suffer from the same problem even with more expensive phones. I had "dumb" Nokia 6288 and I could easely transfer apps on external memory card. Another thing is alarm. I used to power off all the phones that I had including Nokia X6, before I went to bed and alarm still woke me up in the morning. Android phones (and from what I've read even iOS phones) when they're off they're off, no alarm in the morning. Yet another thing is file manager. From the gallery there is no option to move pictures to external sdcard. There is an option to move pictures to another album but there is no option to create one, ar least I haven't found it yet. I have installed couple of file managers and it solves problem but it is jumping through few more hoops.

  • Hi Bernard, maybe Android is not supported in Croatia (I suffer from a same problem), but there are dozens of excellent non-internet navigations (which work, as you said, even without SIM). My personally best app of that kind is iGO MyWay, you should try it, trust me it won't dissapoint you. For more info about it, you can ask freely.

  • I have asked on XDA about overheating / battery drain on V20A and no one has any issues with it. They are reporting good battery life, like using it whole day and still 75% available. But it is better to wait for it to come via OTA update.

  • Even if it is not a 'beta' it is for sure a 'leaked' non-final version. First it was published on the Official German LG forum - , but the message had been removed on the next day. One more thing - the V20A ROM is currently available ONLY in KDZ format, but KDZ flasher is not officially supported by LG. So how can V20A be an official ROM?!? As for the battery - of course I made the hard resets before and after flashing. And I can confirm that the battery drain and the overheating are there. Yes - the better performance is here too, but at a price.

  • Where did you find out that it is the beta version?? It is just the beta website for firmware search, the firmware is V20A, no sign of any beta. As i am reading the forums at XDA users who installed it don't complain about the battery drain, yet some are telling that the battery got even better. The phone seems to be smoother and faster and the GUI is little changed (notifications). The update has yet to come to OTA updater. For the battery drain, maybe you should do a hard reset after installing it.

Please be patient - there WILL be an official release some day, but for the moment it is better NOT TO INSTALL this version!

  • Nope, it is actually the same thing as static memory calculation (HDD described as 500GB has 468GB) because the rest of memory is hidden from you, cached (preformated) for upcoming processes or reserved for hardware, there is no Android phone in the world that has exact amount of memory as described in specs and there's nothing to do about it.

  • If you want to buy the L7, be aware this model isn't for heavy games, just for the simple (I'd say up to Sims 3 / Need For Speed / Temple Run maybe some more optimized high-end games too), it also can multi-task but only expect a good performance when switching between "light" apps (like the stock ones, Messages, Gallery, all of them run very well, fluid, or very well done market apps). A few lags exist if you have gone through many apps, like, the keyboard will lag a little but it'll get back to normal after. My view is it requires some software updates and LG promised Jelly Bean, and Facebook is re-doing their app completely to run better on Android, so we can expect it'll get better. The MAJOR GOOD POINT of this phone is that it has a big screen and its brightness level is very good, so it's perfect for watching videos and images, and it has the frontal camera which is lacking in Sony xperia Sola which gives possibility to Skype. The phone's size isn't too big, the screen hits the right spot in my opinion, and it's very light to hold really! It feels good on the hand and it's cute. In the end this all depends on your needs. The price in my country is the same as Sony xperia Sola which presumably has better performance (dual-core processor and graphics chip) but then you lose the frontal camera and a some screen size (and this model is stuck on ICS by the official Sony means...), so the choice is personal... I don't know, now in 2013 you may be able to buy something better, LG is launching L-series II, Optimus F5 and F7, they'll leave L7 in the past and will be much better mid-end. The price might be a little high at launch but it may adjust rapidly after that's what I hope...

  • It works like that in any phone, it isn't just LG. 512 MB is the total RAM, some is used by the system and background processes. You'll find this specification for every other phones to work the same, just part of the total is available to user.

  • I have used this phone for about 3 weeks and simply what you are getting is Galaxy S (1st gen) with 4.3" display. It does have best display and slim design for this price range but this phone is seriously underpowered. The hardware simply can't handle Android OS. Even typing the keyboard can be slow and lag. If are expecting that for this price range that this could be device for you but if you are not, than get at least either dual core Android device or WP device.

  • Okay well all I want to say is, I did not get nfc lg tags with the phone contract in south africa... This really dissapointed me...For the price is obviously not bad... The phone is laggy and hell if you live in south africa this phone does eat up your data even if you try to put the sync off and all the other options that take data, but hey phone these days don't take unlimited data plan... So anyway this phone will not have nfc installed and won't have nfc tags if you buy and use it in south africa... :.(

  • I have had one of these for nearly a year now and what a great phone for the price. It has been absolutely flawless in it's performance, the screen is as good as the Galaxy that it replaced and the newer OS means that it is better to use than my old galaxy. The only two things that let it down, are no doubt the reasons that it cost so little to start with; a lack of internal memory and the processor could be a little faster. That being said it plays streaming video and runs most apps fine, you just have to be patient when they are loading sometimes.

  • I have this phone for a couple of weeks, it looks good, there is some lag but what i really cannot understand is how is android os better than symbian on nokia? I mean, on my nokia x6 i had all applications sorted in folders out-of-the-box and maps and navigation was...well you cannot compare because on android phone if you're not connected on internet you don't have maps and navigation (and in croatia there is no nav even if i'm connected). On nokia x6 i had free voice nav, maps and all i needed was gps connection. There was no need even for a sim card. I love open source software but android isn't much better than iOS or windows. My nokia x6 is broken beyond repair and that's what is makes me sad. And, yeah, camera on Nokia X6 is much better than L7.

  • i have this phone and the battery life was somewhat poor at the beginning but now after 1 month of use the battery last for a full 4 days with normal use and 1 and a half day with mild gaming and internet use. the battery needs a couple of charge and discharge cycles to run at full capacity BUT u need to recharge it when it reaches battery low, never let you're phone turn off if u want it to work. when it's battery low recharge it or if u can't recharge it turn it off until u can, do this for 10 times and you're battery will improve and stay charged for 5 days with normal use and 2 days with INTENSE gaming and internet use. that's what i did and it works like a charm and the battery life is the best i had from a cellphone.

  • I've been using LG Optimus L7 since Dec 2012. It is a little bit laggy a few times due to the low RAM, the brightness should be set manually, and the multimedia speaker is only sufficient for a small room. The design is very thin so it won't be a bulk in my pocket. The Gorilla Glass is significant to resist any little scratch. The phone does everything very well based on the specs mentioned. It's great for it's price range. Overall I'm satisfied with it.

  • I would like to share my experience about this phone.I have discovered that the reason why this phone is so laggy because some official roms installed in the phone are not fully optimised. My L7 has about 5 to 6 sec.lag when opening the Calender application and when pressing the center hard button to bring the display back on. I decided to flash another from into my phone in order to see the difference. I found that the one from European open,version V10i is the best for model P700 and the one from Singapore, version V10F is the best.These two rooms were both released in last December and they gave very smooth performance to my phone. One obvious improvement is that after flashing these two rooms, both gave me a score of 4000-4100 and 2000-2200 in quadrant whereas my original rom version V10e only gave me a score of 3500 Max.in antutu and 1900 Max. in quadrant. Also,the calendar app now opens in just 1 sec as opposed to 5 sec.These two roms optimised many applications so they now run smoothly. So, this is a way to go if you encounter lags with your phone. Remember you don't need to root your phone in order to flash, you just need to use the official flash tool from LG.Also, you can use rom for model P700 inside p705 like I did with no problem. Try this and tell the difference.

  • Absolutely worthless experience. If you are a multi-tasker, stay away from this phone. definately worth it. Hardware specs is a big let down. Low RAM(390MB) is a major let down to have a smooth operation.

If you want to reduce lag in messaging donwload jellbean keyboard from play store the johnstami version. It reduces lag whilest typing and also adds gesture typing which is awesome. And to reduce lag in browsing get chrome. Its the best phone u r gonna find in the 200-250$ price range with a big display.

  • This is an okay devise,for a mid range smartphone,People say it lags alot but to me,works jst fine,if ur a heavy user of apps,i suggest u go for the 4x or other dual core,quad core processor smartphone since the l7 has a single core and if your to stock many heavy apps it will struggle and get lags.so choose yo device according to é CPU,RAM....The ones who give bad comments about a this devise,jst go buy a High end device to solve yo nasty comments.

  • Thank you all for your advice and help but like I said I have sold the phone ! I own a Samsung S2 now . My phone was rooted , it had the V10i rom from august but no diference . When I was entering the call log lag again , facebook big lag , task manager lag again . I didn't expected to run as a quad core device but I didn't expect to have lag in everything I did ! how is it possible that LG Sol works much better with Android 4.0.3 that L7 ? It has the same specs ! But this subiect is pointless now because I don't own the phone anymore . I sold it and I am very happy that I did .   • Samsung Galaxy S I9000 will not get updated to ICS because it has a 2 year old 1Ghz processcor together with 512MB of ram. It will never handle ICS with touchwiz UI smoothly as stated by Samsung. So your phone is nothing better than the L7 I can tell unless you have rooted your phone and installed custom rom.If you feel that your L7 is not fast, why dont you root it and install custom rom or even flash the fatest and smoothest V10i software from European open, an dyou will encounter the difference.

  • Perhaps you ahve not update dto teh latest firmware from LG released back in last August that is why you ahve the lag.Your Samsung Galaxy S I9000 is also garbage because it has a much older 1GHz huminbird processor and also 512MB of Ram. That is why the Galaxy S1 I9000 will not get official update to ICS from Samsung. Let alone Jelybean. If you are so keen in using your phone, why not root your L7 and install or flash another faster offical rom or custom rom and see if it lags again before you make any comment. I am very interested to see how writng SMS will be lagghing. Even HTC desire C that I have with the smae processor but clock at 600MHz does not lag when writng SMS.

  • how can LG do this to the customers? the hardware profile is for 2008 not for 2012. it has lag at any application you start. the operating system cannot be upgraded or changed without voiding the waranty and it leaves the user with 60-70 mb available out of total 390 RAM memory.

  • 2,with root app delete app you can delete all apps on the phone,this is what i delete from system:smart share,google+,gmail,mail,music app and replaced it with android music player from market,nfc apps,financy,weather,maps,street view,talk ...... 3,look here just change heap size to 48 mb or install custom rom with edited build.prop, pimp my rom is app that have scripts for editing this file for stock or custom firmware 4, i didnt install supercharger but i tryed xoptimus rom and it is faster than stock in quadrant benchmark with stock i have 1300 score and with xoptimus i have 2000+ almost like lg 2x,i also have deleted .odex files of apps that i deleted now i have 130+mb free in system, and run nfs most wanted without lag sorry for bad english

  • It's a great phone but lags quite often. Sometimes I'm on the net, touch on the search box to search, waited a minute, and "OMG, WHERE HAS THE KEYBOARD GONE?" Another negative point is it charges so slow! 40 mins charging gone up like a few percent. But once it's full battery, very hard to run out of juice quickly! Other than infrequent lagging, slow charge, I think it's a really really good phone for a price of $200.

  • It will work, but only partly. AT&T uses 850/1900 bands for its GSM network. Because this phone works on both 850/1900 bands, you will not have any problem making/receiving calls. AT&T uses 850/1900 bands also for its 3G network. Because this phone does not work on 850, its 3G reception to AT&T's network will be somewhat limited to more open spaces.

Still there is a woraround using the RemountSD program to COMBINE the internal and external flash memory into one large array. If not your phone at the moment is a weird mixture of old and new files and libraries and of course you will experience lags, etc. Simply KDZ relash it following the instructions to the letter. @lulavac You what?!? You DELETED ALL Google apps? No froze them using Titanium Backup?!? Then I can guess that at the moment your phone simply cannot sync media and you have the process Mediaserver running endlessly and eating up 95% of your CPU power and 30% of battery time. Sorry but some things have to be done with extreme caution, which you did not! @Ralph Here are the answers to some of your quiestions: 1) 720p HD video is supported, but depends on the video format. I successfully playback MP4 HD movies. 1080p is lagging too much. 2) Video quality is near perfect for this size and type of screen. Picture is crisp and detailed, colors are vibrant. 3) Gaming level is on par with devices of much higher price. I have no problems playng simple games as Temple Run and Falling Fred, as well as heavyer 3D games like N.O.V.A, Dungeon Hunter, Trial Xtreme 3, GTA: Vice City, etc. 4) Device is "upgradeable" to JellyBean, but the JB for LG L7 is still not ready. At the same time the phone bottloader is locked which prevents users from flashing custom ROMS like CyanoGEN Mod 9, or MUIU. Next scheduled date for upgrades by LG is Feb-12-2013 - so in less than a month we will know for sure if there will be JB for us, or just some V10k update.

  • just bought this phone, used for two days, usb file transfer to sd card is not working, just keeps disconnecting, copies few files then it shows some error messege, cable is perfect so it phones fault, so i'd say no acceptable usb file transfer for this phone.

  • I think you probably have not updated to the latest version of ICS. That is why you have encountered such a big lag. I am running the latest version plug ICS and I don't encounter big lag on all applicatios.I don't know how fast you want the phone to be but this phone is fast enough for daily use but not for gaming through. Besides, LG has sold 10 million units of the L-series phone. If it has big lag , it will not be sold for over 10 million units. If the phone is not fast enough for you,try to update to the latest OS and do some tweaking to your phone. It should boost up the performance of your phone.

Very slow even in the menu , big lag at all applications , weak wifi signal , lag even when the web browsing ... The only pros that this phone has are the display and the ICS OS other than that a very very low phone !! I hope LG is reading my comment so they can realize what a weak phone they made and good for nothing ! It heats up very fast ... My god what a stupid mistake I made buying this ...   • Phone has no lags for me at all. One has just to follow a few simple rules in order to get the max out of it. 1. Root your phone. In this way you will be able to use system cleaners, tweaks and backup software. 2. In Settings > Developers options set the option [Use GPU Rendering] 3. Google for "GPU tweak adreno200" - after a simple edit of a text config file your GPU will take the full load for drawing onscreen graphics, leaving main CPU to deal with other tasks. This results in smoother video, no lags in heavy 3D games (GTA Vice City is now playable!!!), better audio quality and better touch response. 4. Do NOT use any task-killer programs!!! NEVER!!! They mess up with the built-in LG task-killer module resulting in heavy lags 5. Do NOT install any "Live Wallpapers"! Simply said it is a movie running non-stop on your phone and taking up to 99% of your CPU power. This - even if you are not at a screen showing the wallpaper. 6. Mount your external SD Card as a part of your internal memory, thus expanding your storage space. Just google for "Android LG P700 RemountSD" 7. Check if you are running the latest LG firmware. At the moment latest and best firmware for P700 version is "V10i Europe Open". Note that it is safe to install firmware designed for P700 phone version on P705 phone.

I am just gonna give some Reasons regarding your negative comments Why::::::- 1. little bit laggy ? - because the single core processor is little bit less capable of processing the functions to its huge display so loading web apps 'll be slightly slow . But it is not at all a problem if you handle single tasking . 2. Go for LG :- because , you might say that the xperia range phones offer better cpu gpu latest features . But be aware , when you just lyre xperia consumer complaints in Sony blog , the users are just crying for their phones having important screen problems and software problems and even they are not able to get it repaired satisfactorily . They are just getting rid of Sony phones . So LG phones have far below least complaints and their performance and their durability is actually good . Another important thing is , this is a 2 -3 years once investment so make it worthy .

  • Newer?? true its 'newer' just like SATA 1 is newer compared to PATA technology.But you can get SATA 1 and 2 tech at a decent price. All am trying to say is why go for enhanced adreno 200 when you can go for adreno 205. It does have good features but the they could have thrown in a better processor.Plus you can get other phones that strike a balance in terms of price and specs.For instance the Huawei honor or sony xperia u at the same price(where i am ,the three phone models have exactly the same price). But it all comes down to personal preferences. For me i wouldn't buy it simply because of the processor. Think of this phone as a Huawei Ascend y100 with a bigger screen!!!

  • I have this phone about 3 mounths ago and what can i say? it's a brilliant smartphone. he looks very very well, games like fruit ninja, temple run, pes, fifa, nfs works perfectly without problems, of corse if your l7 is optimized for free ram memory. Per total this is the perfect smartphone.

  • Not too slow but not very fast. 512ram is enough for basic apps. If you wanna run heavier things like games, you'll need a phone with 1GB of ram at least. It depends on how you use it.

  • I was looking for a midrange Android phone (under $300) and I was trying to decide between Xperia U and LG Optimus L7, and I decided this one because of the microSD card feature and the screen size. I've been using it for 6 weeks and this is my experience so far: PROS: - Very clear and fair-sized screen. Brilliant colors and definition, it was better then I expected for a midrange phone. Also, the screen is GorillaGlass, so it's difficult to get scratched. - The android UI interface is very well designed, I like it more than the Galaxy's. It has some interesting features like hand-drawn memos and other cool details. - The plastic body is resistant enough, I have accidentally dropped it twice it and had no problems neither stratches. - Touch screen works perfect and fast. - Speakers volume is ok. - Battery is better than I expected, it longs the all day long with common usage, and up to 5 or 6 hours with heavy usage. - Wifi and data work perfect and fast. - I love the design: square borders, fair size and slim body. CONTRAS: - Only 512ram get be a bit slow if you have many apps. I recommend to install some app to auto-kill processes and free ram. - Camera is a little bit crappy. The resolution is not that bad, but the lens material is very very weak so it gets easily scratched and your photos will look blury. I recommend using a transparent protector on it (even if you have a case). - Only 4gb of internal memory may be not enough if you have many apps that storage things on the internal memory. Also, the android version of this phone doesn't let you move apps to the microSD card, so you might run out of space is you have many heavy apps. In conclusion: If you're looking for a midrange Android phone with a good screen for reading and a decent battery duration, this phone is highly recommended for you. If you are looking for a phone for gaming (or whatever that recquires higher perfomance) and high-quality photos,I recommend you to look out for other options. I hope this helps you.

  • i am currently using this phone and it dont let me download apps from playstore it always stop when it is installing and a error message pop up it would always be invalid package data or insufficient storage available. i checked i have enough storage but it always said insufficient storage available. I cant move my apps into sd card even if i use apps2sd by sam lu.

  • Hi i m from india. I had same problem , software update failed when downloaded. Went to service station and they solved the problem. U can try updating by pc- with help of lg pc suite, if not working go to service station.
