Meizu MX6 - User Reviews

  • my work partner accidentally broke my screen, i want to change my screen for my MX6, but i live in Ethiopia i dont think its known around here, can anyone help me out by telling me where can i find a perfect screen for MX6 or a similar one? thank you.

  • Yes, it does support

  • decent phone, you should software update it to flyme 7. its great!

  • does the mx6 support usb otg function?...anyone please confirm this

  • I am also using almost a year and of course it works well. We say like this because we think about the price between other models. 269$ in Cambodia if we buy Samsung that have the price the same as it, it can be liked like mx6.

  • Hey, I saw this comment from another phone. HAHAHA don't fool us fool. Don't believe his statement because it's not true. :)

  • I am using almost a year now, It still works well. And now I have just updated flyme 6 it is cool.

  • The wire it comes with is fast charge, and mine also warms up a little while charging. If you use a lower rated cable to charge with, you shouldn't get any heat build-up.

  • Until you've set it up fully, this phone can be a pain with closing background apps. There's an easy fix which just involves going to your apps & setting trouble apps to "Allow running in background" in the permissions. The tap to wake function can play up if you have palm rejection on, but it works fine most of the time. The camera sensors are really clear and video always comes out crisp. 6 months on, and I've had no real issues with it; not that I do much - social media, Discord, a few games & the occasional video or photo. If you want more than 32Gb storage, look elsewhere; otherwise, this has been a hardy - I drop phones a lot - and useful edition to my gadget collection.

  • This phone is just amazing. I have it now for one year and I have no troubles. Everything works as it should. And this phone has just an amazing design. The bad side is just that it is not available in most countrys. I need to order it from other country and if I would need to use guarantee I will have to send it abroad.

  • Very good for that price, its ok!

  • Meizu mx6 Please what is the bad side of this phone and also the good side of it.

  • The phone crashes severely on simple apps like contacts and music player The battery is overheating constantly. Although it has some very nice features like excellent audio quality the Mediatek processor is probably not up to the task

  • the only bad i feel bout this phone is donthave card slot and the internal storage is only 32gb....

  • do the meizu phones good or bad? will lag or not? how bout their battery life?

  • After a week of use (see comments below) im returning this MX6. The only real reason for this is the crap display - light bleed along the bottom edge, right next to the button and very annoying when i can get say a flawless AMOLED Galaxy A7 or even better a C7 with guaranteed Samsung quality for the same price. 10 core ripoff processor, made in china quality control (i assume these sharp ips displays are made in japan or taiwan, so what meizu do with them is the problem) and better phones made by other companies have put a cross through my hopes for all "chinese" phones. They have a way to go yet and the "new" midrange is nothing like the awesome old midrange - my MX4 was a superior device, only hampered by a juvenile OS. The MX6 is nothing like it - a bad display on a phone with limited release is a sure sign of degrading quality standards.

  • This is turning into something of a running review, what with the comment edit restriction. A night and a few hours of relatively heavy use (gps, traffic with congested network conditions, 2.5 hours screen on time at standard autobrightness) and im down to 83%. Not bad! Updated now to latest 6.0 beta firmware (very easy, as is rooting in Flyme - to flash updates, you just click on them in the file browser). Stuttering kernel in balanced mode slightly improved. Not much though, scrolling through loading lists is still bad. 10 cores eh?

  • So, a couple of hours in i have this to report - the battery went from 70 to 0 in the course of two firmware upgrades. Abysmal. Hopefully this has something to do with the cycle memory, so im charging to 100 and trying again. Also be warned, in "balanced" mode the kernel is pretty lazy and you will see a lot of stutter if you flick through lists and so on.

  • MX4 user here. Very satisfied with that phone and am awaiting delivery of a MX6. Slightly annoyed that Meizu decided against their awesome slightly wider than usual screens in the 5 and 6 series, but from the looks of it the MX6 is a cracking phone for daily use at a reasonable price. I usually purchase one or two phones a year (I carry two with me, its more versatile than dual sim) and I find Im no longer drawn to buying flagships, but rather high-midrangers. With my style of use, involving not much more than talking on the things and very occasionally reading some news or whatever, massive GPU performance is irrelevant. The MX series and Meizus dedication to flyme are perfect for me. FIY, I currently use a Nexus 5x as my second phone and await a MX6 to replace my MX4.

  • Hi shy boy , thanks for you reply ! i already got my mx6 and yes it is a good phone love the flyme 6 . i am saddened that mx6 dont have 3d touch like pro 6 . also i noticed that charging the phone get the phone hot . is it normal?

  • I have been using this since 29/12/2017 until now around 3months. I can say it's good, camera performance, battery life, But a bit issue that is fast charge, it is hot when I charge it. I don't know why. And other is good... Exception

  • After using the Meizu MX4 now I become a fanboy of the Vivo V5 plus lol

  • Hi , guys just want to ask all of user of mx6. how long have u been using your MX6? im interested with the unit ? hows the battery , performance , camera? . thanks ! your reply would be very appreciated ! :D

  • Hi , how long have u been using your MX6? im interested with the unit ? hows the battery , performance , camera? . thanks ! your reply would be very appreciated ! :D

  • Hello, I have been using meizu mx6 for 5 months. And I can confidently say that this phone was worth my money. On the outside it looks elegant and expensive, and it feels really comfortable in hands because of curved screen. In comparison with iPhone 7, meizu definitely wins. I always have it in my pocket or in my bag and screen is not scratched at all. Once it feel down and it got a little scratch on the side, but I think that other phones would crashed by fall like that. Battery life is just amazing. I can be on my phone for whole day and in the evening battery life is still above 30%. Sometimes I don't even charge it every day. And also that fast charging makes your life much easier. Battery of meizu mx6 is much better than samsung's S7. Also performance is really good. It doesn't lag or anything like that and it works really smoothly and perfectly. Camera is also very good too! With this phone you can make really stunning photos. And I need to point out that beautiful and smooth system flyme. It looks so elegant and everything fits. And it is very easy to use. It has a lot of shortcuts which are really useful. And I saw a lot of you were asking... yes it does have google store and everything what other android phones have. I am so satisfied with my experience with this phone, that if it would be 100euros higher price, I would still purchased it, that good it this phone.

  • Honor 6x vs Meizu mx6 they seem to be around the same price

  • My idea, I think both of these are good. But I want to let you consider about the mx6, I say can it's good camera performance video 4k, Cheaper than m5s

  • i think mi5 better because for performance mi5 using snapdragon 820, for long life battery i think mx6 better .

  • Hello which one is better Meizu mx6 or Xiaomi mi5s ? and why?

  • This phone and the Pro 6 Plus (imo) have great design, flagship build. Though the Helio X20 does not have great graphics performance for games, for most users who are looking for a solid phone for everyday use, the processor keeps up with the SD820 for launching/using apps (check out Youtube comparisons). Though a lot of the design language is inspired by Apple's iPhone, it's still a beautiful phone with excellent build quality for users who aren't looking to dish out an arm and a leg for a phone.

  • I am using this modal mx6. And I share some my experiences, I can say it is a good phone, battery performance, camera, and also hardware. And the price it really fits. If I want to ask me some more experience about this phone you can more comment below.

  • If there is no Play Store icon, please try following.... goto HOT APPS than click install GMS Installer After complete installing will have Play Store icon. Hope this can help you. Cheers ....

  • yes

  • Please tell me meizu mx6 has goggle playstore...yes or no???

  • I am using MEIZU MX6 as my daily driver. SPECS wise and performance power, it manages everything that a smartphone must have. Durability and craftsmanship of this device is very nice it is like an iphone 7 hardware, with the feel of the device you can easily identify that it is made in touch to perfection. SONY IMX 386, the camera shoots vibrant and crisp pictures, even in very low light environment it performs well because it has a low light mode that manages to remove/lessen camera noise in taking photos on a dark/not so dark field. BATTERY, using most of the time 4g lte, facebook ang other social apps, the battery charge on this phone lasts 18hrs-20hrs, the mCharge works like a charm similar to the quick charge 3.0, my phone(MX6) charges from 0-100% for about an hour- 1hr 15mins. For the mediatek issue? nothing to worry about, helio x20 on this device keeps everything in save in terms of battery performance, that's why i will give the Meizu MX6 a big thumbs in talks about the battery. The specs missing here i think is the OIS, the NFC and the universal support for the device(accessories), but of course for the price, i cannot ask for this additions. FLYME UI, is one of the most heavy skinned theme made on a device, but the UI itself is a to notch. Flyme releases an every 2 week software update (which i loved about Meizu). My Final Thoughts - This device is like having the build quality of an APPLE device, with the processing performance of a SAMSUNG smartphone, camera of the SONY especially IMX 386 on this device, and the battery of the NOKIA. Everything in style, elegance, performance and gorgeousness was on this device. Try to use an MX6 or other Meizu product to see and feel the power of MEIZU. #pastM1noteuser #pastMeilanMetaluser #pastM3noteuser #presentMX6user

  • I like Meizu, the M2 Note was great value for money and the Pro 5 was a fantastic phone all around, but Meizu keeps making mistakes with their MX series, in my opinion. The MX5 did not come with Band 7 (only 1 and 3) thus limiting its global reach. Now the MX6 has only 32 GB memory and no expansion slot. This is akin to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 but this is last year's memory capability. Offering 32 GB only with no expansion is behind the times and unacceptable.

  • I have an MX4 Pro, it upgrades itself. The only issues I've had after an upgrade are some security settings are reset to more secure. It's highly stable, FlyMe has measures to maintain performance like daily restart and regular filesystem cleaning built-in. Apart from no card slot, its the best phone I've ever owned - the hi-res sound and display on the MX4 Pro make it great.

  • Plus thebugs, surely meizu doesnt know whats thr meaning of stable. Yeah i know that no os is perfect but flyme is unbearble compared to other chinese oem. If u dont notice it, you must be a meizu fanboy. Lol

  • Wow! The chinese devs dont speak english. So flyme is really just a chinese firmware after all, plus they removed google play on the latest firmware release, maybe google may sue them haha, perhaps they dont want to pay google license

  • Pro6 has lesser bugs. Its tolerable nowadays compared to their previous devices

  • Havent used meizu but i was planning to buy mx6, i was really hoping that their devs are getting better but i was disappointed, they havent change since the mx2. Well garbage is garbage, its just good hardware nothing less

  • Why meizu?

  • Why MX6 or PRO 5 is better than PRO 6. Pro 6 has only lower battery that MX6. It has good inches 5.2, good camera and good screen.

  • Mx6 is definitely much better. You may want Pro 5 than Pro 6.

  • Pro 5 is best. Better processor, faster storage (UFS instead of eMMC), better audio, much better battery life. Build quality and design of Pro 6 and MX6 are better and they are more manageable size (for me at least). And they're running 6.0. But if you don't mind waiting for Marshmallow update and want a big phone, Pro 5 is definitely best.

  • Hello guys, Which one of those mobiles is better than the others ? Meizu Pro 6 , Meizu Pro 5 , Meizu MX6 ?

  • why meizu always create a mid-phone with flagship price? pro 5, fail, pro 6 fail, and now what? mx6? only 32gb, the procs is same like redmi which more cheaper and expansion slot? i miss the mx4 pro, which really good, hope meizu will learn how to hear the user.

  • It is not ok! Where is sd card slot? We record 4k videos and playing games. You could have done iy with a 4000mah battery... No nfc??? Oh meizu please correct these points. You did the same fail on pro 6 too. Again again again. If m3 note had a good camera and a good speaker it would be better than those... Just place these: sd card slot-NFC - INFRARED PORT MAYBE - 4000MAH BATTERY WITH A OPTIMIZED FIRMWARE. WE CAN BUY IT FOR 500$ JUST HAVE A LOOK AT THESE COMMENTS

  • well this is not flagship

  • Be reasonable iPhone have other options you can buy 64g model

  • for design quality & Ui performance, meizu is the best

  • Dual SIM LTE and VOLTE are really nice. Camera weak as 12MP is too less without Optical Image Stabilisation (16MP or 21MP sony EXMOR sensor with OIS would have been awesome), No FM, No Gorilla Glass, No dedicated expandable memory card slot is like a vacuum, Battery just above 3000mAh is weak insted 5500mAh removable one would be a step towards considering as flagship. RAM could could have been 6GB to put its features at top. Preinstalled KODI, NETFLIX etc with addons for bollywood music and video streaming would be a fun for users.

  • joke? iphone has no sd card slot either and has 16gb internal. What do you call that?

  • Why are you going to buy?

  • No gorilla glass?

  • Just 32gb inbuilt memory..no memory card..what a joke meizu

  • Good information about the Meizu MX6 smartphone. The smartphone runs on Android v6.0 (Marshmallow) operating system and sports a 32 GB internal storage capacity. The Meizu MX6 phone offers a 13-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front facing camera.

  • Nice trolling, this is really nice. I mean you'll never need more than 4gb of ram on a phone and the cpu is making me wet.

  • My note 4 is showing is screen overlay error again and again after a recent update What to do about it? Is there any way to downgrade without rooting?

  • Nokia 1110 is a good phone. i no comments.

  • You know, this is a phone and not some gaming computer.

  • what i said is the trend . like what i predict the phone will go to 6GB ram. its normal. now smartphone are on path to the Intel + Window old road . more power on CPU , GPU . and then only realiaze ppl need ultrabook which mean the 8 hours wifi, bigger battery , low cpu power . now smart phone go backward to 6 years ago laptop old road, they need u bring charger at least once at the evening, if u really just a mid powerful user. i not surprise one day the smartphone are playing LOL or COD . with 7" or 8" device which so call a flip curve screen phone . & we are wasting our time on the 10 years lousy than PC devices.

  • hope one day u learn more in IT.

  • Actually other phones are getting the new update as well.

  • you are the few

  • this is a phone not a tablet, laptop, or desktop, GPU you say? I can even operate heavy games, video/photo editing, MOBA or MMORPG games on a phone with only 1.5+ GB RAM, Adreno or PowerVR GPUs, A or SD chipsets with minimum Quadcore for 2+ GHz or Octacor for 1.8+ GHz while on multi-windows/tabs without having issues you are one of those user who keeps asking for too much but complains if it is priced too much -Asus/Samsung/Apple User

  • 3000mah battery............ huh...!.......A big-big-big floap......illiterates

  • where is Nvidia GPU . we need gaming. 5000mah. 4 speaker ,90dbi 6" FHD. 8GB ram 256GB ROM. USB 7.1 sound inlet.

  • you can go for the Meizu Pro 5 it still has a powerful CPU&GPU&SD card slot

  • Please Meizu, please put an SDCard slot and switch to SAmoled Screen and Exynos Processor

  • The no card slot is a stupid idea these days. You have 4K recording, and you got no card slot, and ONLY 32 GB. If they should have made a 64 and 128 GB version of it.

  • Just rumor

  • Indeed IZGO panels are excellent but Meizu won't use it because IZGO panels are pricey and would add up to the overall manufacturing cost of the phone.

  • Seriously... No SD card slot? I can't believe, perhaps every under-50 dolar phone has SD card slot and phone with camera of 20 MP doesn't?!!? I like Meizu concept, had M2 note, wanted a new MX and it doesn't have stupid memory card slot... I'll pass ONLY becouse of this.

  • well, if its anything like Redmi note 3 (both have 5.5" 1080p 4000mAh) the battery will do just fine. Tough SoC power consumption may be different. My sister that used Galaxy S5 is really pleased with the battery of Redmi Note 3. As a heavy user she need to charge the s5 up to 3x a day, where Redmi Note 3 only need to be charged once a day.

  • the higher resolution they make, the lower the actual batteri mah gets. more than 1080p will kill the battery too fast, even at 4k battery.

  • Cons: no sd slot - no igzo panel - no wirelles charging- no infrared -no NFC Meizu have a look at these comments

  • 1440p resolution is always better if they make it with igzo panel... battery mah is high so they can make 1440p.. always better(with igzo)igzo saves your battery . But amoled does not as well as igzo. I hope they make it with igzo!

  • No SD card slot, okay I can live with it. 4GB RAM, check. 4000mAh battery, check. Slightly bigger camera sensor, check. 5.5 inch FHD display, okay, because it won't tax the battery too much. No NFC, ouch. Odd looking antenna lines, ouch ouch. Older DDR3 RAM instead of the faster DDR4 RAM found on Pro 5, ouch ouch ouch. Helios X20, forget Exynos 7420 it's not even X25, what the heck? Does Meizu seriously thinks someone gonna buy this device or the new Pro 6. Heck even the old Pro 5 is faster than these two devices because of Exynos 7420 and DDR4 RAM. Both the Pro 6 and this soon going to be released MX6 are utter disappointments. Where is the Exynos 8890 Octa processor?

  • Don't make the mistake to put 1440p or higher resolution. The specs are very good. We hope the phone will have all the sensors also. I don't give a shit about NFC. In these days 4000+ mAh is a must. Gj Meizu!

  • No sd?? Are you kidding? Even m3 note is better than this.

  • Meizu ditched my hopes. Now high hopes from Motorola?

  • Why there is no nfc? C'mon meizu place nfc. And 2k display. All we want is these...

  • I hope it releases veery fast because i loved the MX5 and i would like to see the MX6, if the price is the same as the MX5 I'll inmediatelly buy it. I want it so much, thanks GSMarena for bringing us all the rumors very early, the best website!!
