Motorola One (P30 Play) - User Reviews

  • Hi! There is a Motorola P30 Play on Lazada. Can anyone confirm if thoses units are already converted to android one. I want to get one if those are android one.

  • moto one has NFC and turbo charge, the xiaomis you say don´t have. That´s enough for me to choose the moto over the xiaomis

  • It´s your opinion.

  • This cellphone's cameras and display are rlly bad, Mi A1 and Mi A2 are much better phones in this price range, both have better cameras and much better displays, while Mi A2 is much faster.

  • this cellphone is great!!

  • Like the specs it only has 32 GB storage and 3 GB of RAM. Right now in Motorola Spain/Lenovo you have the 4GB/64GB for 149€

  • I disagree, during day light it takes more than OK photos, at night not so much. I really like the consistency of clean android stock, there´s no price for that. At least i´m certain that my phone will work the same during it´s lifetime

  • Amazon is shiping XT1941-4 with 3GB / 32 GB memory. I do not find any specification for this version. Anyone knows about the background of this version?

  • camera suxxxx, not water resistant, overall okay phone android one update are nice.

  • Can anyone tell me about P30 Play (Chinese version) but with global rom preinstalled. What version of Android have out of the box, 8.1 or 9? Also does recive security monthly updates? I ask because its really good price now, for 4/64 version (about 100$ brand new)

  • The Best one, Motorola one.Performance is very good.

  • Indeed! The batery life is really good, and camera is good enough at daylight shots, only strugles a little in night shots, like every other midrange phone

  • True! What great compact phone!

  • Android 10 is on the way! > Android ONE 10! =)

  • Not on battery life , the G7 plus has a week battery , although fast charge , and a really good one. I'd get the G7 plus only for the camera and if you don't game too much otherwise this one is still a great choice . The camera is also good but not great

  • switched from a nokia 6.1 plus to this one. ok so the display isn´t as sharp (barely noticeble but ok). Everything is miles better, batery life, perfomance more than adequate, 800mhz 4G, ok cameras with nice pop up colors in good light conditions and good charging.

  • no. moto g7 is superior. it uses the snapdragon 632 which is an upgraded version ofbthe 625 found in the moto one. the moto g7 also has a 1080p display. I recommend you get it instead.

  • mobile is good. fast and never hangs. but on the flip side Useless camera! sucks big time. after using the phone for 6 months the camera became blurred and dark. pics are coming like old nokia camera. i dont know what was motorola thinking when they fit the garbage cam in this mobile.

  • Is this the same phone as the motog7 OPTIMO? (Walmart Family Mobile / T-Mobile)? The specs seem to match, as many as they list in the ad anyway...

  • For this price range, you won't get that.

  • Motorola plans to launch an international version of this phone?

  • yes.

  • Yes.

  • I have a question: Motorola One have support for VoLte and WoWifi in Europe? Thanks!

  • Motorola p30 play have NFC??

  • Hi! The problem is not autofocus but stabilization. I also just bought this smartphone and I noticed that the photos suffer from camera shake. Unfortunately the Moto One does not have an optical stabilizer (OIS)

  • Bought this camera a few months ago. Supposed to be 16MP camera. I get conflicting data on the camera 12mp or 13mp. Whatever, the resolution, the camera is frequently out of focus. Had a 24 MP motorola phone which had great camera. I guess I have to buy another phone to get good photos.

  • Recently buy this phone last month. Not worth to buy this phone, video and camera is very blurred specially when you are sending video to messnger and whats up. Outside look is good but overall function is very bad - don't buy. Better bu cheaper phone but with good quality.Very disappointed in buying this phone.

  • Motorola one looks and feels very premium. The build quality is great and its footprint is compact. What disappoints is the dated processor. SD636 could have justified this device. On the camera front, they could have tuned the main hardware at 13 MP f/1.7, at least the low light shots would have improved. Moto G5 Plus's camera was great and they could have used the same sensor along with the depth hardware. The front snapper is okayish. Moto X4 has a better 16MP with flash setup. Also, the battery could have been loaded with more juice, considering the 8mm thickness of the device. Probably this 'One' will not find many takers atleast at the given price point.

  • Moto has fast charging 15W, NFC better camera Xiaomi has FHD screen and metal chassis more batery life I Prefer the moto cause fast charge is better

  • i´d say 4.2 , because de 625 is a 3 year SOC...

  • Well, I found one little thing wrong here Bluetooth on this phone is 5 or 4.2? On the official motorola site says 4.2, here 5 The true is?

  • Go for Moto one power. It has 5000mAh battery and supports fast charging as well.

  • i'm thinking of buying the moto one or mi a2 lite, but i'm hesitant, which one should i go for ? this one has 3000 mah battery and the a2 lite has 4000 mah

  • My Moto One (for EU market) have the following values for SAR in the manual: - head - 0.463 W/kg; - body - 0.800 W/kg.

  • I was very sceptic when i was buying this phone, because of so much bad reviews. After one month i just can't say anything bad about it. For that price, best mobile phone on market, that's why I've decided to post this opinion. Camera is fine, not bad, but not the best, still it's making great pics, but not that good in low light environment. Even I, who like to use phone to it's maximum, don't have any kind of bugs(but it's not that good for some hardcore gaming). After android 9 update, battery life expanded double time. Now, I've been using my phone for a whole day, and still I have 47% battery at the end of the day.

  • Dear Fawad, many thanks for ur valued comment.

  • Please note, i found two problems in this phone. no.1 its camera is not good as compare to other phones. once i take a picture of any document. it does not come clear. While i used huawei y6 ii. its result is very clear. This huawei is not as much updated as this. no. 2 its wifi internet reception is also very weak thats why during vedio calling on imo/Whatsapp. i found voice breaking issue. Which is very bad. So, i m looking forward to sell it out.

  • Pretty happy about this phone. Works nice, but doesn't have too many options about the notch and others.

  • After one month of use: Speakers doesn't work! I've been updated to Android 9 Pie and in few days speakers stopped work. No Alarm! No music, no call sound! Works only call speaker, thank you(no) Motorola, I can speak.

  • Pros: - Modern design - Quality of build - Decent display, despite negative reviews - Decent performances - Dual-SIM + microSD cards - Excellent battery autonomy + fast charging - 3.5mm jack + very loud speaker than benefits a lot from the included Dolby Audio equalizer - Solid fast and precise fingerprint sensor - USB-C port - USB On-The-Go - Pure Android One experience - NFC - Price - Superfluous shock resistance - Splash resistance (P2i certificate) - You can make call and write message on lock screen (you don't need to unlock your phone, which is great) Cons: - Bad camera at very low light condition - Slippery design - Too big notch - Don't have LED notification lamp - Minimal gesture support - Large frames around the screen

  • Very good device, fast, no lag whatsoever. The screen is decent ,opposite to the the negative reviews-who the hell is watching TV or videos for more than 5 minutes on a phone??? Pure Android, everything is working fine. For everyday use is perfect, I don't play games. Good battery life Now the negative- -The ugly big notch, it's useless and hides many of the icons -May be Bellow Average camera -Very shiny back, I will put sticker on it -Speaker is not loud enough, but with in build Dolbi app you can make the sound very good -Moto display and Moto actions are very limited on this device, shame on Motorola. I definitely recommend this phone for people who want blazing fast phone with good reception, good call quality, very good performance and the pleasure of pure Android. And it's cheap.

  • I have also bought one bluetooth speaker that doesn't worked with my phone (no audio), but I have tested this speaker with laptop of my friend, and also don't worked.

  • I don't have problem with this. I have USB powered 3.5mm speaker and it works fine.

  • This mobile has compatibility issues with many speakers e.g. if you connect the mobile with Sennheiser SP20 ML with 3.5 mm jack then you won't get audio on speaker. Reported this issue to Motorola but they are not interested to fix this issue. Note: The issue is with most of the Motorola mobiles because same speaker is working fine with all other mobiles (tested with Samsung, Huawei, Honor, Mi and iPhone)

  • Except the camera in low light cindition, superb phone.

  • Much better than I expected. My requirements were: some degree of weather resistance, good battery life, ok to fit in pocket when cycling or walks, 64 GB (as I ran out of space), clean user interface, good with map applications. Decent camera. Good display. The Moto one achieves all, the display adjusts to conditions and can be sleep friendly in evenings. I used 'here maps' for 4 hrs two days ago plus web browsing emails, calls etc and battery lasted two days plus. I was concerned about the display after reading reviews but it is fine, good resolution, no pixelated lines, high contrast, good colours. I was surprised when it even coped when I was wearing gloves. Camera is good too, and some nice features like colour picking, portraits with bokeh effect and gif creation. Very pleased with natural colour photos. A bonus is dual sim capability. The size is good too. Battery life matters to me as I use phone as satnav when driving hire cars, hiking, cycling and the Motorola one is fine. Long battery life also means the phone should last that much longer before a new battery or phone is needed. It is good value too. Struggling to think of a negative, the fingerprint scanner works well. I would have liked full weather proofing but thats about it. I should mention android too, you get the latest version and it works well with this phone, apps load and run quickly, no freezing. Some reviews were less complimentary, I am glad I went ahead and purchased the Motorola one. Excellent

  • In my country the full retail price is around 210 EUR, but it usualy has a discount and is around 170 EUR. The lowest price on discount was 150 EUR. At that price i consider it's more than a decent phone.

  • Too bad, in my country it costs around 360 EUR it's more expensive than the One Power which isn't available here.

  • Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro: - better display; - better processor; - better cameras. Motorola One: - USB-C; - fast battery charging; - splash resistance. If you want better cameras, then Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro is better choice.

  • Very interesting device, but if wasn't for it's screen resolution it would be my choise.

  • this or xiaomi note 6 pro?tnx

  • yes, it is compatible

  • Is this compatible with Verizon in US?

  • You're welcome!

  • thank you

  • Theoretically, Motorola One has better camera (f/2.0). Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite has blend aperture f/2.2. But, cameras are very identical and bad in low light condition. Both cameras support EIS and day-light photos are pretty decent. Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite has FDH+ display, but Motorola One has USB Type C and fast battery charging. Photos in night are with noise, blurry and without details. Night photos are disadvantages on both phones.

  • Cameras on both phones are identical and not to good in low light condition.

  • Well, I bought Motorola One. It has fast battery charging (about 1 hour and 42 minutes) and from 0 to 84 percent is charged in 1 hour. The cameras are identical, bad in low light condition. Only, MiA2 Lite has better display and has IR blaster, which is not important to me. The battery in Xiaomi MiA2 lite is charged from 0 to 100 percent in 2 hours and 47 minutes. Xiaomi MiA2 Lite is charged to 80% in 1 hour and 55 minutes. So, the fast battery charging is way better in Motorola One.

  • Yes, but motorola has usb type c and fast charging, so i was wondering which one has better camera.

  • this one is better than mi a2 lite. motorolla one

  • you should probably buy xiaomi mi a 2 lite because itds cheaper. It costs around 180 eur and motorola one costs around 220 eur. Its far way cheaper

  • should i buy this one , or xiaomi mi a2 lite? wich one has better camera?

  • The Nokia X6 is way better than this! Even in price

  • Rear camera of this phone is garbage. My previous phone, Samsung Galaxy J3 (2017) shots so much brighter and better photos in low light condition and the camera is much brighter in general. The camera of this garbage phone has blend aperture of f/2.2, not f/2.0.

  • I would say yes. To me it sounds pretty decent and loud, better than Mate 20 Lite for example. I don't know how much Dolby software makes up for that feeling, but definitely it's clearer and also you get an equalizer with multiple toggles.

  • Very good.

  • How is sound from the headphone jack or via bluetooth? Good volume and clarity?

  • Just got this phone on 13th of December. Yesterday was updated to Android 9 Pie. I am very impressioned with loudspeaker. The loudspeaker is so good and the sound is clear without distorsion.

  • No pie for saudi arabia till now Any one have any info

  • Well after investigating actually what type of material is used on this phone it seems like a glass back and some coated steel frame ? That's why it feels a bit cheaper (like plastic) but still good looking. Also I think because of the lighter weight it will not brake so easy even without a case. Don't let the feel fool you it's a great sturdy build :)

  • It's all plastic build with a shiny plastic back. But dont worry it feels really good and looks amazing. Good thing is you don't have to worry about dropping it. It should survive a good beating and I like that. With my Samsung s9+ I always get worried about dropping it. This phone is alot cheaper and really good for the money. Also with fast updates for two years is great.

  • Buttersmooth performance, the snapdragon 625 with Android 9 makes the battery last forever it feels like. I use social media apps and do some surfing/youtube. Gaming is great but I don't usually give a fuck about that at all. Camera is good, front camera is good to and with the flash it takes great selfies even in dark environment. Fast updates for at least 2 years. That's also very good. I have nothing really to complain about. It's smoother and lighter then my Samsung s9+ and I like the Motorolas design better. This phone goes on sale very often and cost under 300. phones don't have to cost 1000 dollar to be good anymore ! This is now my daily driver.

  • Does the English version have Bluetooth 5.0 (and not 4.2) ? Because the french one only has 4.2! 802.11 n only or ac ?

  • No LTE band 20. No 802.11 ac, in 2018 come on! It's from 2014! The ax should be released soon. That's unacceptable even on a cheap phone. The worst is the lack of Bluetooth 5.0 on the french version. Why do we always get the crappiest version of phones? We can't even buy the One Power! Only this weak and outdated One Play only good for kids to play with.

  • The Motorola one UK Version - XT1941-4 supports LTE B1/B3/B5/B7/B8/B20/B38/B40/B41 UMTS B1/B2/B5/B8 and GSM B2/B3/B8/B8. My Motorola one updated to Android 9(Pie) on 27/11/2018. The phone is running very smooth and very stable. Battery life is very good, it can run 3 days with a normal usage.

  • Could get Andorid 11 if it is released before the 2 years of Android One Os updates are not finished

  • Two (Android 9 and Android 10).

  • How Many OS upgrades are assured ?

  • I have two questions about this phone: 1. Which material is used for body build (plastic or glass)? 2. Is it worth? Thanks!

  • On some sites I read that has compass.

  • Yes!!!

  • will it be available in indonesia? can't find this hidden gem anywhere.

  • Price decreased from 300 to 220 Euro, 102 hour endurance, amazing, maybe will grab one between XA2 and Motorola play

  • Plus 102 hr gsmarena battery test

  • I think it's honestly one of the nicest devices I've seen. But the specs suck so I bought a Sony Xperia XA2 Ultra instead and love it. And it's cheaper.

  • Worst than XA2 in all aspects in real life testing (XA2 it's now even cheaper).

  • NFC and 3.5mm!

  • What do you think about this phone ? Should i buy it or moto g6

  • I have 2 days this phone ... This is good phone, speed everything its ok..

  • Can't compete with P2 ! Bad camera, sd625, 3000mah, LTPS IPS LCD 720p, for 300 eur !!??

  • With qualcomm MSM8953 Snapdragon 625 you don't have to experience it to know it will be slow in different tasks

  • it's easy to say its a joke but you didn't know how this mobile is working unless you have one to experience it☺

  • This phone is just a joke. An Asus Zenfone 3 from 2016 still better.

  • Would be much better suited with 636 instead.

  • Thanks for your answer.

  • Hi, this phone does not have a notification light.

  • hi guys is this have notification led light or no?thanks for answer

  • I love Motorola .. They make their phones stand out by making them as ugly as possible. They think outside the box LMAO.

  • It's hard to put snapdragon s660 and at least adreno 512 on it ?? Seriously just for this I don't have interessed on this mobile

  • super!

  • Hey, I mean, what Motorola wanted to mean when doing this smartphone and One Power? they have the same price but One Power is better in EVERY spec, just compare them, it is ridiculous!

  • Something new, which I like by Moto. I am talking about visual touch.

  • its in hand of lenova, we cannot find any improvement, really i am missing motorola's originality

  • Will buy if $200 only. If $300, better buy Nokia 7.1

  • Who will buy 300€ smartphone with Snapdragon 625 and GPU adreno 506 ? Expected SP660 adreno 512 at least

  • Doesn’t make it easier to decide.

  • Android one, go for the Moto One otherwise go for the pocophone which is better in everything

  • Would one choose the Motorola One or the Pocophone F1? The Pocophone F1 has a bigger battery but the Motorola One has Android One, which is nearly stock Android.

  • Snapdragon 625? Really?

  • Which have better camera this or redmi s2

  • Yup, Motorola owned by Lenovo. They usually provide Chinese version for China market.

  • No compass? Is that real?

  • there is chinese variant of this phone?

  • Well i have Moto X4 which is outstanding midranger before i had Lenovo Vibeshot also outstanding midranger i understand your point but not everybody is like that. Many people looking for a budget phone with nothing special they are afraid of thievery probbably.

  • Because budget buyers would prefer to buy a phone that looks like a flagship because if they create a new thing for budget. People will thing that it looks cheap If you see flagship phones other than samsung and apple you will see a lot of creativity like huawei p20 pro with his three cameras and oppo find x with a premium looks So for budget I also prefer flagship looking phobe rather a new looking But some phones can impress with their looking (the only phone that looks different and cool is moto g6 if you know other creative budget phones like it please tell me )

  • Is this phone dual volte support???

  • 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage

  • In how many storage model it is available ?

  • Specs update: 720x1520 resolution 5.9 inch, 19:9 aspect ratio which count for a ppi of 287. 150x72x7.79mm at 162 grams. Battery is 3000 mah. Colors black and white.

  • It's on pre-order in The Netherlands already, available from 1 October for 279 euro, black color.

  • Well people ossesed with theses brands follows because they are lack of own creativity.

  • In Germany the Motorola One will also be available in white color (seen at amazon and other shops).

  • In fact, motorola was one of the first companies to have screen and camera on the same line, apple just made it dual.

  • welcome to a bad copy of an ishit x! lol

  • overpriced. lg g7 one is better choice for 350$, better specs !!!1

  • When did I say Apple was the first one.. but we all know, what Apple and Samsung decides, the trend goes that way..

  • Notches. I hate them. One of the infamous things on a phone since the iPhone X had made their way too far.

  • With that CPU this phone is funny. Wonder if anyone buy.

  • I disagree Sharp few years ago was the first phone with Notch even essential phone were before apple X.

  • Even Iphone X copied the notch from essential phone and from Sharp which created first phone with notch few years ago.

  • At 5.9 inch very unlikely. Probably a typo or wrong information.

  • Nope.

  • HD display...409 ppi....is it possible?

  • I haven't used the iPhone X but Samsung batteries last longer that on Apple devices. Apple's batteries are the worst. They drain faster.

  • i am not talking only about the notch, but the overall appearance. The display uses far better technology, both the panel and the no chin.

  • They all look equally as bad, however the droplet notch is acceptable to me. It's not because Apple made a poor design decision first that makes it a prettier phone, it has a huge notch as well so in my opinion it's one of the uglier ones.

  • Android is very heavy on all devices, regardless of how great their techniques are, a 3,000mah battery should be standard for all screen sizes under 5inches, after 5 inches it needs to be increased, this phone needs a battery of at least 4,000 or it will drain really fast. Apple is their own ecosystem so they are able to do tweaks and battery enhancing things, even BlackBerry 10 phones last longer while running android apps, the only reason the BlackBerry Key devices last so long with around 3,5000 battery is because it only has a 4.5 inch screen, if it was the same size as this then it would die much faster.

  • does it to bay a smartphone with 625 chipset in 2018??????

  • Ruined by small 3000mAh battery...

  • I agree with you

  • Iphone X is the only phone thats looks good in notch.. everone else looks like a copy

  • A snapdragon 625 again? That chip is outdated. Should at least be the 636 like in the power edition. A 660 or a 710 would be more appreciated at this price point. Not a 625.

  • reveal the dimensions

  • Wow! Looks really good. Also Motorola camera will be good, so hopefully this is a good alternative to Nokia 6.1 Plus. I'm looking forward to this mobile. This is also Android One phone. Since the dimensions are not yet mentioned in the specs, I hope it will have width lesser than 72mm, which will make it easy to operate by one hand.
