  • The J3 is a major downgrade. Bell Canada tried to do this to me when my s5 died. I had insurance. 1) Tech support is withdrawn. It use to be with My Tech Expert. They were quite helpful in getting the s5 data transferred to the j3. 2) j3 has 1.5 GB ram. S5 has 2 GB. 16gb storage vs 32gb on the s5. No SD. poor Cameras. USB 2.0 which is very slow. The list goes on. I would not pay $50 but for a j3 3) I had to use the j3 while we sort this out. It's now been 4 months. Data merge does not work. Galary, memos, and phone log were left behind. Your s5 is a good machine. The j3 is a pos (not point of sale)

  • S5 Neo with Android Nougat 7.0. When I am using the external phone speaker (the one in the back) during calls the other people complain about hearing an echo every time they talk, as if someone repeats what they are saying. No issue when I use the headset or the ear speaker. For me I hear them clear, the echo is just on their side. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks.

  • Hi there for whoever may be reading this. This phone isn't entirely capable with Nougat like this website says. Only certain countries were granted with Nougat for this phone. Country models like Australia, Europe, New Zealand, and England were granted with Nougat and all models from those countries are upgradable to Nougat but countries like America, China, Japan, and Canada did not, unfortunately receive Nougat for their models :(

  • It seems that only the Canadians who have the SM-G903W have done well in this story. I discovered that in the Wi-Fi Alliance, only the certification of the Canadian model has been updated. The European model and the Latin model remain unchanged. Another regrettable attitude of Samsung in this respect. It had already failed with the Galaxy Grand Prime and Galaxy A3 2015.

  • Decent phone, lack of fingerprint scanner really sucks though. Would definitely recommend using a launcher from the Play Store, like Nova, or Google Now, as the default "Touchwiz" launcher is not the greatest.

  • Well after some days of usage i think the battery has gotten much better but still doesnt last as long as it used too. It used to last till 8 to 9pm but right now it last me till 6 pm. Still is very inconsistent.

  • Still Running 5.1.1 Smoothly (Rooted) Will await the new update once initial bugs are compressed to a small few. I enjoy this stable ROM I have loaded My experience may differ since I dont use Games or Facebook/Instagram/Social Media. These newer apps have proven data that sap batteries and have their own instability and sometimes we address it to the phone but I keep my apps to a minimum. Running Youtube 60Fps is awsome but I will disable it because it does use a lot of cpu/battery @ 60fps. keeping in mind the youtube app you can still scroll around and continously run 60fps minimized.

  • Not only s5 neo but a5 2016 1080p 60fps youtube sucks. And samsung downgraded purposely to 720p 60fps even though it was 1080p 60fps on certain videos . This is the case with a5 2016. With s5 neo, idk. Maybe they solved. But in games exynos 7580 is HORRIBLE. Riptide gp renegade barely hits 30fps in 720p. On low. So... I miss the alpha, s5 and note 4.

  • S5 Neo never lagged that much ever. It does sometimes lag and freeze but I never saw it lag on YouTube at 1080p@60fps. Maybe yours wasn't manufactured right, you don't know how to use it or you did something to mess it up yourself. S5 Neo is a good phone and doesn't have that much problems. The new Nougat update fixes everything anyway. Also, who even cares about S5's 4K video recording. The S5 Neo camera is way better than the original S5 even if it only has 1080 recording.

  • Amazing with Nougat update. All the lag, instability that this phone sometimes had with previous updates is gone. Everything is better and smoother including camera quality. This phone has the same Android Nougat from the Galaxy S8 which is nice. Phone is overall a lot faster with Nougat update.

  • Never in my life I hated a phone like this one. The sofware is so much defficent that I sometimes dont even receive my calls. It becomes buggy quickly, so I had to reset it two times in less than one year. Every time I did there was new functions missing and new ones poped out of nowhere. The water resistance fail is not guarranteed, as the battery is removable and there is SD slot so its your fault if it fails... Nice philosophy... Thats so unfortunate I took this phone on a plan, I have to endure it until next april... This phone is the reason why I'm not gonna buy a Samsung product anymore.

  • This phone is an s5 with newer software and "octa" core cpu. But no finger scaner, no screen mirroring, no 4k or 1080p/720p 60fps recording. And the gpu is so horrible that every game lags even in 720p. And my classmate that owns this phone is fine with it. But for 350euros is a scam from shamesung. Don't be fooled by octa core cpu and newer software. This phone is pure trash. At 200 euros is ok but anything more is a scam. And nougat will be a disaster for this one. And YES it even lags when you play 1080p 60fps videos on youtube. Sometimes even 720p 60 for a few seconds.

  • I was sad when my provider no longer offered Sony products. I'm happy with my provider and thought what the heck I'll try a Samsung, after all how bad can it be? I'm generally happy with the performance of the phone and really like the removable back. But after several months of using the phone I am sick and tired of the auto correct. It is not predictive, words taken out of the dictionary reappear on a regular basis and this is a real nuisance. Given the amount I text and e-mail this is a real deal killer. Come replacement I'll be looking at other brands, which is sad because I'm generally happy with the phone.

  • Nothing official is confirmed. However, the SM-G903W (Canadian variant) now has Wi-Fi certification under Nougat. That's a good sign that it might be getting an upgrade.

  • It happened with wife's unit, exactly after the MM update. I bought a new sd and that nuissance never occurred again. I suspect that somehow the sd card broke at the update. Hope it helps

  • I don't know why you guys have so much trouble with your unit, mine is fine with the plastic chrome around the USB port chipped, I've rooted it, played a lot of games and I can say I'm not satisfied of the performance in games but in the rest of the apps is snappy. This device received a security update recently and I think there will be more in the future. Some apps were crashing for no reason but it's not always the phones fault, is the developers problem. Used it for nearly 2 years and it's still going strong and also I've used it in the shower, left it in a bucket full of water while playing a music video and no water the damage.

  • Micro USB on the bottom of the phone for charging failed after only a few months and become intermittent and unreliable. Finally, exactly a month after my warranty was up it has completely stopped working. Micro USB's are a terrible way to charge a phone, and will not purchase another phone that uses this method of charging

  • Not always the problem is with the phone, sometimes there are apps with software bugs. For example, after upgrading to Android 6, Google Mail app was not possible to open. I sent a message to Google support and in 1-2 days the problem was fixed. Also the Camera app was restarting sometimes before, when using together with navigation, and with Android 6 this Camera app bug was fixed. In case you use specific app with a software bug, then you may stop using the buggy app and report to the app support for fixing the bug. You may start using any other similar non-faulty app. It could be also 2 apps you use at the same time interfering with each other.

  • I do not know what you errors occur continuously. I just know that I am with this phone I have never had any problems, and that means something to you, as the phone works perfectly and without error.

  • This phone constantly freezes when I have a text message conversation open and am receiving a text message from the person I have the convo open with or from other contacts. It constantly tells me my "SD card is unmounted" yet it was replaced months ago, due to this error always popping up. I have always sworn by Samsung ever since the Samsung galaxy s4 but this phone has errors that, for some reason, cannot be repaired... (According to Eastlink) bullshit, in my opinion.

  • There are glitchy Bluetooth devices - I still have a Bluetooth handsfree which could not work with ANY smartphone, I tested it with a lot of different smartphones. The Galaxy S5 Neo is just fine for using with Skype or Google Hangouts. However the smartphone is not for LIVE video+audio because of lack of optical zoom and image stabilization, video without zoom and image stabilization is not usable. LIVE audio without video is not usable too. For LIVE video+audio it would be much better to have with you a small camcorder with 12X+ optical zoom and 14X active optical stabilization. It work really well. Still you may use your smartphone after that for video files processing (free VideoPad app works well) and playing or placing videos on youtube - I have done that during my vacation. I have got Android 7.0 on my Galaxy Tab2 tablet - not much difference from Android 6.0. I do believe Galaxy S5 Neo will get Android 7.0 later, however Samsung is really careful with new software updates after the Note 7 battery problems.

  • I have been using my neo for music since it came out I have never had a problem with Bluetooth I purchased a pair of akg y50bt headphones and it sounds great, I have found out by trial and error that depending on what music app you use the music sounds different so if your music sounds odd try another music app, as for recording music on your phone......WHY...... its a smart phone.

  • I hate this glitchy phone! Everything is great until you use Bluetooth or try to record live music. At this point this phone is terrible,detrimental,to your ability to work on live sessions because the mic clips and the Bluetooth is enough to make you feel like killing yourself it is do glitchy and unreiable. This is a great phone if you don't use it for live recording or listening to any music,which is why I bought a smartphone! While trying to remedy this extraordinarily frustrating flaw with the tech support from my service provider he told me that this phone notorious for the problems I am plagued with and I should take advantage of the 9 bucks a month I pay and send it for free warranty repair. I did this and was given a loaner phone that was so bad I brought it back to trade in for something that worked. During the data transfer key intellectual property was lost and I was charged data by my provider for putting the apps back into both of the loaners. A week went by and I was called and told my phone was back from repairs. I joyfully skipped to my service provider and retrieved my phone. About a week and a half later it all begins again. I am taking it back and they must attempt to get it right 2 times before they will give me a phone that actually works for the things I have purchased it to do. If you like music or play music and want to get a phone to record live gigs of just song so you can critique your performance DO NOT GET THE SAMSUNG GALAXY S5 NEO because as a tool for a music video recording or music playing device it is aggravating and counterproductive to the creative process. Get something with a better mic that has the Bluetooth bugs worked out of it already. I will be back there tomorrow to attempt to rectify the situation.

  • Every reputable shop would be fine, most of them also have home delivery at lower prices. Amazon was just an example for Internet shopping with very good customer protection policies. The customers also give very good customer rating of all the items - you may check up the other customers opinions there.

  • Well, the prices of Samsung Galaxy A5 Gold 2017 at Amazon co UK are little different - starting from £309 (€339 at Amazon de). Android Nougat update was confirmed for Galaxy S7 and S6 and available (on and I beleive Galaxy S5 Neo (August 2015) will get update too. Android updates are normally supported for 2 years. The prices of new Galaxy S6 (April 2015, from £349.99) and used Galaxy S7 (March 2016, from £352) are low, however I would not buy used smartphone (just because normally people are selling their new phones after accidental drop in the toilet or after significant repair/scratches).

  • After my not-so-good experience with one Xperia after the other especially with battery life (I have basically done all battery saving tips under the sun known to man apart from rooting the damn thing) and slow/unoptimised camera I'm hesitant to get another Sony phone. Although saying that the XZ seem a fairly good phone. So thinking about the pricing of the expensive Galaxy A5 2017 (which is a good phone but price is too bloated, no OIS, a slower USB Type-C, a so-so speaker & camera and no Nougat out-of-the-box) approximately around £350/€370 price range I'm now thinking either a used/second-hand Galaxy S7 or the Xperia XZ?   • Just move most of the apps from the internal storage to the external storage. 1) Go to Settings -> Applications -> Application Manager ==> (every App) -> Application info -> Storage Then change the Storage used -> Internal to External for all the Apps where that is possible. 2) You may also Go to Settings -> Storage -> Internal Storage -> Used space -> Apps Then move most of the apps to the External storage (not all of them could be moved ). Change the Storage used -> Internal to External for all the navigation apps. Then you may download again all the necessary countries or continents of OSM maps to the external storage.

  • There is definitely NO PROBLEM to use Galaxy S5 Neo as a media phone: (1) Perfect for using as a VoIP phone (with or without camera for Skype, Google Hangouts). (2) There is no problem using any headset for handsfree VoIP talking (including PC type USB headset with USB to micro-USB connector). Bluetooth headset devices however many times have compatibility problems, battery is another problem too. (3) There is no problem of using any PC type keyboard with USB to micro-USB connector. (4) Galaxy S5 Neo has great FM radio as well. (5) No problem for voice recording from FM radio or headset. (5) Perfect for Full HD video play (any type) with headset, emails, ebook reading, Flipboard news, navigation device or for fitness.

  • I can not compare the different models, I only have the s5 Neo. But I can say that I'm quite pleased with its waterproofness. The first month I had the phone I fell in the water whilst sailing. I was in the water for a few minutes and my phone was in the pocket of my pants. When I was back on land I opened the phone and saw drops on the outside of the waterproof rubber. I wiped them off and closed the phone again. I never had a problem with it and in daily life I use my phone as my mp3 player during biking. I live in Belgium, so we have plenty of rain, and I never experienced problems, eventhough my phone sits regularly in a sooked pocket...

  • Bluetooth is very short range... Microphone sucks for recording live music as the bass causes a crackling sound on the recording.. If I vape around it while it's on my desk then try to charge it it tells me there's moisture in the charging port and it won't let me charge it until I swab it out.. Bought this as a media phone.   • I've got 6.0.1 with the January 1, 2017 security patch. Yes, there is a Torch shortcut in the settings drop-down. By default it was on the second row of icons so you had to expand the list to display it, but you can re-organize the icons to put them in your preferred order. Is it worth it? Well, that depends on what you value in a phone. In my opinion, for a mid-range device it is perfectly capable. It's showing its age as a cost-reduced former flagship at this point, and security support will probably expire sooner than I'd like. Nougat it probably out of the question. As someone else has mentioned, you won't be able to get much joy from the open-source ROM community, because many developers are unwilling to touch its Exynos chipset. If that matters to you, then you would be well advised to stay away. I didn't have the device pre-6.0.1, so I cannot comment on whether it improved or hurt performance or battery life.

I just got this phone and honestly I've never had a galaxy I don't like but I do wish that the "window" or "process" button was still hold down the "home" button I find having the "more options" being a actual button next to the "home" button you know since it's used so much. I'll be looking at this phone from a perspective I hope shows the value this phone has apposed to what features it has, why have a phone that can do everything and anything but last more than the two year contract.   • It's a phone with a camera, not a camera with a phone! 1. If you haven't took off the plastic sticky patch on the camera lens, please remove it and you will see the difference. 2. The Galaxy S5 Neo camera App has Pro mode (better than Auto mode) and HDR mode which could be handy for contrast scenes. The camera may focus at around 4-5 cm without problem, just tap on the display at the focus point. My examples at goo . gl/lTxN59 (no space) 3. In low light scenes the camera may use higher ISO (you may choose it in Pro mode) since the minimum shutter speed restriction is around 1/17 sec and using larger shutter speed (example several seconds, with tripod) is not possible. There is no support for full manual shutter control, it is available only for small list of phone cameras. In case you need stable work at 1/17 sec shutter speed, then you may use any universal tripod (or just scotch tape to stick at any surface) + Voice Control and take picture, just by saying "Smile", "Cheese", "Capture" or "Shoot". You may use any other Camera app of choice, for example Google Camera has Photo Sphere mode. 4. Still the main problem with EVERY smartphone camera is lack of optical zoom and image stabilization, video without zoom and image stabilization is not usable. For video it would be much better to have with you a small camcorder with 12X optical zoom and 14X active optical stabilization - you will forget for video handshaking and blurry photos. You may get with you professional mini camera with several lenses. 5. Dull photos (in some scenes) may be easily corrected using any free photo correction software, for example FastStone Image Viewer (brightness, contrast, saturation, sharpness). In case of reflections you may just use polarizer filter (from any camera) in front of the camera lens. 6. The front camera is just fine for using with Skype or Google Hangouts. The back camera lens is bright f/1.9 and 31mm wide angle, takes nice photos in most common situations. What else is the use of a smartphone camera?

  • I dislike this phone and won't buy another Samsung. I find the menus too limitedand often it doesn't recognize my menu selections. Example, I have it set to stay unlocked in Safe Locations, but it constantly locks anyway. I dislike having to swipe to get to the Password screen when locked and having to swipe when it's unlocked. Many of the menus require several actions to complete a task. For example deleting a draft text message. I dislike that it alerts only once for text messages so if I don't constantly check it, I miss them. The camera is awful. I thought there was something wrong with it and returned to the store several times to return the phone. I took photos in the store using other phones to compare (and my old Galaxy S4) and they are grainy and dark and out of focus. Looking at the phone, I think the camera is inset too far into the phone body so it is shaded (or soemthing)

  • My biggest problem with the S5 Neo is the camera and the app that comes with it. I upgraded from an S3 and expected some improvement in overall performance. I am happy with the Neo except for the camera. The camera doesn't seem to be able to take low light photographs at all. It can't even focus on subjects closer than about six inches. The camera app that comes with the phone doesn't even come with anywhere near the functions of my S3. You can download about five or six more functions for your camera but that doesn't come close to what my S3 was capable of. Other than that I love my Neo

  • I am sorry for your stolen phones, Palita. Regarding the display of the Galaxy S5 Neo - it is Gorilla® Glass 3 with oleophobic coating. However it is still glass and could be broken, even sapphire display could be broken too. You should be careful. The S5 Neo phone is fine - you may check up my review on the next page.

  • I expect under "noise reduction" you mean "background noise reduction". That is not adjustable indeed, however you may check up if the microphone holes at the bottom and at the top of the phone are clean. You may check up the instructions in Samsung manual (search for "microphone"): There are headphones with external better quality microphone (and background noise cancellation too). It is always a good idea to make a test recording of your voice using external microphone (from different headphones) and compare with a test recording using the internal one. There is always a difference in the low/high voice levels and quality.

  • go into settings then notifications you should see a list of apps with what looks like a switch then turn off any app that you think is taking data by flicking the switch to the off position, don't turn off any important ones, for example if you turn of facebook then you wont get msg automatically but they will come on when start up facebook, I recommend turning any games off or it will use data even when you are not playing, just remember that what you switch off you wont get automatically at the top of your screen

  • Well, it's right, I can be really clumsy and I've dropped many phones in other occasions, I had a Samsung Galaxy 5, two Samsung galaxy SIII mini, a Moto G 2nd gen., Moto G4 and currently a Huawei P9 lite, and I can say, this is the first screen I brake, and I had it inside a case, with a screen protector, and not even the screen protector got broken, just the screen exploded on the inside. The other phones were stealed (damn delinquents!) and still have the galaxy SIII mini and the moto G2. The Moto G4 got damaged because I had to struggle with a guy who tried to take it from me, but still, intact screen Anyway, I'm glad you got a good device and I hope it never happens to you what happen to my phone, because screen replacement is really expensive ;_;

  • You may try to speak with included Samsung in-ear headphones and recording with Sony Audio Recorder app. It should be better. I have however much better result with no-name neodymium in-ear headset (with ear hooks, I use them for FM radio). You may try test recording with any on-ear neodymium headphones (with mic) in the shop too (neodymium headphones are always with better bass, there are versions with noise cancellation too).

  • I just purchased the Samsung S5 Neo as an upgrade from my Samsung S3. The only issue I have is that the microphone is not picking up low noises (which were picked up by my old phone). I speak in a low voice so my parents can hear me as both have hearing problems. With this phone I cannot find in the settings anything that can be changed regarding 'noise cancellation' or a way to set the microphone sensitivity.   • There are still a lot of free public WiFi locations, even there are apps that may show to you on the map all free WiFi in your area (shop, Internet coffee, public train, etc).   • You can still use WiFi, to access the internet and update APP's as required. Without data, you won't get live screen updates on stuff like the Time/Weather widget. Also without data on, your phone will last a lot closer to the advertised standby, talk and use times on their ads as without data is how they calculate those numbers. I personally don't turn data on unless I'm out and about and need it to check a local bus schedule otherwise I turn it off myself. I'm in Canada and I'm with Freedom (used to be called, Wind Mobility) and I have an unlimited data package but I still choose to turn data off. Besides even with 4G service, the WiFi N network is a lot faster. Plus without data, you'll have to rely on free WiFi hotspots to connect and even then your speed is limited to whatever speed they are giving for free... usually it's a/b/G, but never N or higher. Plus dropping data from your phone package may not work with that provider as some insist if you have a Smartphone you must purchase phone service with a data package unless you own the phone and are not locked in some plan. Also dropping data from your service also means you won't be able to use the Hotspot feature to share your internet with others and other devices. When I'm out and about and I require a larger screen to work on, I bring my WiFi only tablet with me and I turn on the Hotspot feature on my phone to give internet access to my tablet. Or share internet with friends who decided to drop or not get a data package themselves.

You may check-up if you phone (SM-G903W) has the latest specific software version for your service provider (https://samsung-firmware.org/model/SM-G903W/). There could be provider relevant software version feature needed.

I've only had it for a few weeks and everyone I speak to either hears themselves echo, or I sound underwater, and I can't receive or make calls to my friend in the U.S. (I'm in Canada). My provider -FIDO- is not very helpful, and I'm disgusted at the difference in quality between the SIII, the SIV and this piece of junk.

  • Microphone problems are very common for all the brands - you may Google for "iphone microphone problem" or "htc microphone problem" etc. For Samsung you may find for example videos on youtube how are fixed such problems (they normally advice first to clean the small microphone hole), for example most common procedure is replacement of a small microphone card (before that is necessary to take appart all the smartphone components, you may watch that on youtube video...). Anyway, under warranty, for that you need to contact the vendor support, probably most hated vendor support is Sony... This website is for discussion of technical features only and it has no connection with the vendors support - you need to contact the special vendor support site for your country...

  • Have a Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo purchased Feb 2016. Purchased because had a previous Samsung Galaxy III which I loved, still works great, wanted to upgrade. Loved the new phone when I purchased it, worked great until about August, then the fun began. Talking to people they said I sounded like I was underwater (including Virgin techs). Took the phone to Ottawa to Virgin kiosk they gave me a loaner (piece of junk that worked sporatically) and they sent my phone for repair. Couple of weeks later got phone back, returned loaner, used my phone for a week or so and it sounded like I was underwater again. Also now people were complaining of echo when whey were talking. Called Virgin again and again sent phone back and got second loaner. Second loaner only worked sporatically (yes I do know how to use a call phone, but I was beginning to wonder!!!) A couple of weeks later got my phone back and returned loaner. Now I found when I was talking on the phone I was getting echos and the person I was talking to was getting cut outs. Makes conversation really hard. On a couple of occasions I hung up the phone and called the person back on my old Galaxy III, continued the conversation with no problems. Called Virgin back and found that they don't repair the phones themselves they go to a 3rd party. Spoke to techs on a higher level, explaining the problems. They all believed the problem was with the phone. Of course when I received the phone back each time they could not find any problems but upgraded or put new software in. This still did not solve the problem. So, I called Samsung and spoke to a tech there who said he would not authorize a new phone but to send it back yet again. Well the phone went back for the 3rd time and again I received a loaner, which did not work, they sent to a second loaner which did finally work, but this is not the same as having your own phone. Now my phone has been back about 2 weeks and you guessed it, when I am on the phone the people I am talking to are complaining of cut outs in the conversation and echos. My end is echos and static. Back to Virgin, and they are sorry but don't know what to do but they would like to help me but can't replace the phone. Try Samsung I am told. So I call Samsung and speak to a young woman who has difficulty hearing me due to cut outs, and I am getting a lot of static. She suggests I return the phone to Samsung for repair. At this point I finally loose my cool and ask to speak to her manager. Instead she passes me to a head technician that tells me my phone will not be replaced and it should be returned again for repair. I am VERY annoyed at this point and ask if his phone is working of course it is and it is 100% says he. I suggested he loan me his phone as Samsung does not loan phones when you send them for repair. I don't think he thought that was a good idea. However I do not know what to do now as this is our main phone for the house, and we have health issues so do not want to be without both phones that we have in case of an emergency. I am very, very disappointed in Samsung for not standing behind their product (yes they say they will repair it under warranty as per their warranty info, but how many times does a phone have to go for repair before someone will admit it has a problem and replace it. Obviously my great recommendations to friends and family about Samsung phones being the best is now totally unbelievable. Once my contract is done and my phone paid for it will be the absolute last Samsung product I will buy. (including TV, washer & drier which I now own). How does Samsung justify having a phone sent back for repaid four times before it can be repaired properly (hopefully the fourth time would be the charm). I have had both Android and iPhone over the years, and for my needs, my preference is Android and I think this phone is fantastic. Cross-over and multi-tasking complicated commerce apps to every social media platform, Paypal, Square card reader, you name it. All effortless to my Neo S5. A friend had a look through mine and ordered her own. We love it.

  • By far the worst phone i have ever owned. I had a second hand S2 that was fantastic so I thought the brand new S5 Neo would be a good idea, so wrong was I. It is so bad that if I came into money I would make a video for you tube of me mashing it with a hammer. I have even charged up an old Nokia non-smart phone. Nothing smart with this phone. The processor is so slow it gets you stressed every time you use it. It switches it's self and some of it's basic functions on and off randomly. It can discharge rapidly. I can't even text a short message without stress. The other things that the designers messed up on are how many times do you have to press buttons before you can actually call someone so frustrating. Am stuck with this phone on contract for another year and a bit. whether it's still in one piece by the end will remain to be seen. It has taught me something. Never by on contract, never by new. Buy your sim only deal and trade secondhand to find something your happy with. Just to reiterate, I hate it and it's the worst I've ever had !!!! Just in case there were any doubts

  • I've had this phone since Dec 2015. Battery is great. Internet. Camera. Everything works perfect. It depends on what you have on the phone for it keeping a charge. Also, don't charge your phone and play on it at the same time. It ruins your battery life. Games will also drain your battery.

  • OneDrive is by default setup to upload all taken photos to OneDrive cloud. Samsung also has a promotion of 100GB free cloud space (you may setup for OneDrive). However for security reasons is better to consider setup auto upload to OFF. The same is for Google Drive.

  • It's probably due to the faulty charger, it has happened on my LG phone too, it takes about 1 day to charge 15%, but I changed the wire, it was working fine again, but only temporarily, I suggest you change the charger, hope this helps!

  • When it comes to such updates it works like this: Android developer creates update and passes it to Phone manufacturers Manufacturers then add in their individual apps and bloatware then passes it on to Carriers Carriers round it out with their apps and further bloatware and starts sending it out Obviously the first phones that everything is done for are the money grabbers then they work their way down to the lowest end. All this is a larger part of why there is so much on rooting and reprogramming your smartphone, to remove all the bloatware and unwanted apps and then to allow Android before official release or even if no official release occurs. Now daring such things is another thing.

  • have you checked WIFI connection, If not do so go to wifi in settings and see if it searches for any networks then pick the one you recognise and connect, if it does not see if anyone at work has same problem with there phone, I have a friend who had same problem he got it second hand and it had the settings from the previous owner after factory reset it worked fine.

  • Great phone, but found a bug: I created a contact using the option to add a pause and an extension number after the phone number. Then I created another contact with the same phone number, but with a different extension number. When I called the second contact, I did reach the right person, but the phone displayed the name of the first contact. Hope Samsung will eventually correct this annoying bug.

  • I love this phone. I've had it a month as a upgrade from an old iPhone 4. No lags people that have complained about. No issues. Running android 6.0.1. I don't game though so don't need performance, however all aps load quickly, no glitches, no freezes, not a single problem. I also do not have the radio app. Must be a cell company preference.   • S5 NEO doesn't have fingerprint scanner, so, only way to lock is pin, password, pattern etc.

  • Try using an online trusted site for getting the unlock code. Obviously the best option is to get your carrier to unlock it for you but since you can't the online sites (don't use any random sites use trusted ones) as they tend to do it for cheaper.

  • In Private tab has been replaced by secret mode activated by the bottom left button labeled "Enable Secret Mode" in the tabs screen (at least on the Android 6.01 version). When secret mode is enabled any new tab you open is considered a privacy tab.

  • Nice phone to hold but must agree with other reviewers that it is slow and seems to constantly lag. It takes about 5 seconds to respond to every touch. It is very frustrating when you're trying to answer a call and the phone doesn't accept that you are swiping to answer call. Changed from Moto G (3rd Gen) but going back to it now as the S5 Neo is irritatingly slow.

  • Strange complaints from Android 6.0 and apps and blaming Samsung for that... In case of problem with you mobile you need to contact Samsung support. However in case of issues with your apps you need to contact the apps support. My only issue with the new Android 6.0 was that Google Mail app was not opening (the default Mail app was still working). After contacting Google app support the issue was fixed in 2 days. Just my 2 cents...

  • This phone is so freaking slow. I came from using an iPhone 5 and iPhone 6 by the way, but I had to buy a new unlocked phone as I was moving overseas. I thought of moving to Android to give a try and chose this phone as it is relatively new and is in the S lineup so I was assuming that this phone will perform well. But boy was I wrong. This is the slowest phone that I ever owned. Constantly lagging, camera takes about 5 seconds to open. Had to uninstall Facebook because it was really slow. Messenger sometimes does not open. The screen freezes. That said, I will never go back to Samsung again.

  • I love Samsung, my last four phones were Samsung. I've gotten my girlfriend Samsungs for her last two phones. That being said, the S5 Neo is the worst phone I've ever owned to date. I originally had issues with its "check cover" problem popping up randomly 8-10 times per day. Now it just happens randomly a few times per week. The phone freezes up and locks on a black screen or white screen whenever it is put through heavy demand from apps. The two main apps people use, instagram and snapchat, the camera WILL NOT FOCUS. 45 minutes can be spent on a varying degrees of depths and distances, and you will still not recieve a clear photo unless using the camera app. Buttons are phantom pressed when typing, and by far the most infuriating design flaw of all, is they have increased either the sensitivity or proximity of the "back" button to the actual screen. So every time you hit ENTER or SEND on everything from websites and emails to messages and phone calls, you will instead be hitting "back". This has quite literally wasted hours of my life, re-typing massive replies, or waiting for websites to respond only to find out the enter key was never tapped. Lastly, after the new update, they decided to put a uselessly unclever cover screen for you entire phone when it is locked, so opening up my phone is now an additional step past the unlocking screen. 1 extra tap every single time I open my phone may seem trivial to complain about, until you realize the average person checks their phone 80 times per day. I am beyond annoyed with the amount of unthought out issues with this phone and It may even be bad enough to permanently ruin my opinion on samsung.

  • That is probably correct - I don't see FM Radio in the specifications for your Fido branded version of Galaxy S5 Neo on Fido web site. There is also official NO Answer in the Fido forums: At normal Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo the Radio app is pre-installed and can not be uninstalled. You may double checkup for the Radio app at Settings>Applications>Applications Manager. It is probably possible to install some FM Radio apk from the XDA developers forum:

  • Dude fix your phone. My Neo works fantastic and experiences none of the troubles you are having. Maybe get some of your 16 gigs back my expanding memory with a card a removing media from the drive. Otherwise take it in and get it fixed. It's no s7 but mine and everyone I've talked to really enjoys this $0 phone. Sure beats up my iphone5😉

  • Unfortunately there was a fake Samsung Galaxy S5 phone from Chinese company Goophone. You may Google for "Fake Samsung Galaxy S5". The Goophone company has fake versions of many Samsung phones including Galaxy S7 (also iPhone). Not sure if there is a fake Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo, however on eBay there were many such cases of selling fake Samsung phones. Be careful! In case your phone is purchased from legitimate Samsung reseller you may ask them or Samsung support for your country to replace your phone. FYI, camera app at Galaxy S5 Neo launches immediately from the screen saver with a slip of the camera button. I would suggest you to use pattern screen lock and SmartLock (Trusted Places, like home).

  • The Galaxy S5 neo is an absolute joke of a phone, it's an awfully slow laggy cheap cut down version of the S5. I ended up with one for my work phone, and the frustration it brings to me on a day to day basis is unbearable. I find that I have to reboot the phone at least once or twice a day to even make it usable. The response time when you try to open a app is totally unacceptable. Just doing something simple as unlocking the phone with the pin can be an utter headache, IÂ’m having to put the pin in multiple times and then the screen times out and switches of during the process. Double tapping the home button which launches the camera app, can take between 5-10 secs to open. What a pathetic heap of junk this phone is. I use a Galaxy s6 edge as my personal phone which is utterly amazing to use, it runs as slick and as fluid as the day I got it over a year ago. So going between these two devices during the day is incredibly frustrating, and I find I end up using my personal phone for work because it does thing so much faster.

  • It seems that most of the s5neo's to get the marshmallow update so far have been those supplied via a network operator ie Vodafone. If you have an unbranded s5neo then marshmallow hasn't been released yet so no update available yet. Once all the network operators have been handsets have been updated then fingers crossed we might get the update.

  • The iPhone 5s has iOS which means it's doesn't need to be as powerful hardware wise. My S5 doesn't seem to be any better in performance than my 5C I gave my wife. Even my old 4s is less leggy than the S5. Android memory management has always been awful in my experience so that needs factored in.

The headphone port works but I'm still having the same problems with my back & task manager keys & it seems to be coming more frequent as time passes.

  • I have used this fantastic cellphone for six months. I'm really happy with my Phone.I recived Android 6 at first day . I've Played Modern combat 4 and 5 also Asphalt 8 . IT plays those heavy games like piece of cake . It works as well as s6 und s7 but just with different Name and nice Price. There are negative comments below. But it is not acceptable because their device has Problem not all. Also they can use Garantie if they don't use Smuggled phone.

  • Any case that fits the standard S5 will fit the S5 Neo. I just use one of those S-Line silicone cases (and have done for years for all of my phones). They're cheap and offer very good protection for what they cost. And I have never had any damaged done to any of my phones while they were wearing one of them, and I work in the construction industry.

  • Things seem to be getting worse the longer I use this phone. Lots of locking up/freezing for short periods of time while doing basic things, such as browsing the web (using any browser) or moving around the interface. I've never experienced anything like this before on any of the phones I've owned over the years, it's quite embarrassing to have to go through this, especially when out in public and at a time when you actually really need the phone.

It was going fine, until I changed the screenlock from letters/numbers (which was getting too time consuming every time) to a 4 digit pin..Im now locked out of the phone and the only way I can get back in is to factory reset, which means I wipe all the photos. I talked to samsung they say I must have entered two different pins when I was resetting the screenlock to a pin, I said why didnt it alert me that the two pins were different if this was the case? Personally I think it might be technical issue, as I know I put in two same pins, and besides, the screen was playing up (first time) just a few hours earlier, like jumping about so I couldnt use it. My advise is to read other reviews for this phone before purchasing. I did this and found a few people had experienced problems. I kinda wish Id heeded their warnings now..

  • Considering it is a £200 phone (same price that my LG L90 405 was back in 2014), it can be slow and lag quite often, even when just browsing through the phones interface or moving between basic apps. Things get much worst when running more demanding apps (not games) and transitioning between those. Battery life is reasonably good (a possible two days with light internet and GPS usage), but does not come close to my two year old LG L90's four days (even with original battery) with similar usage. So basically (for me) it has been more of a downgrade when comparing those two phones.

  • dude i'm having this phone from since it was released and I am so satisfied about it. Battery is good it lasts ~ 2 days with medium usage ( wifi + 4g connections are always open). The memory is enough for most apps ( no lags). So i will recommend you this phone.

I would highly recommend this phone over the normal s5 because it has a better user interface that is identical to that of the s6 and s7. The original s5 user interface is REALLY bad.

  • Hi guys, this morning my S5 Neo updated itself (not android update, but samsung system update) and everything just seemed fine.. apart from one little issue: if I put the phone on silent or vibrate mode, it won't remain in either mode for much time, thus switching by itself back on to sound mode. I find this quite an annoying problem since there are most moments of the day (at work, in uni or in a crowded - but silent - place) I really rather it didn't start ringing all of a sudden. On may 10 2016 I purchased a Samsung S5 Neo, I had trouble talking to people because sound quality was not the best but I could live with that. In early july it was charging on the counter, I picked it up, put it in my sweater pocket and went to my car, when I removed it the screen under the glass screen was cracked....bad. I did not drop it or lean against anything and can not figure out why this happened. I have contacted Samsung and am basically brushed off. However if you wait for iPhone 7 you may get it with sapphire glass which is indeed much more resistant. 2) It is not serious to say that 3.15 MP, f/2.8 480p@30fps camera of Apple iPhone 3GS (or 8 MP, f/2.4 camera of Sony Xperia SP) is better than 16 MP, f/1.9, 1080p camera of Galaxy S5 Neo.   • If you are considering buying this phone, be aware that you must buy a screen protector at all costs. Even though there are several independent reviews out there claiming that the S5 Neo features Corning Gorilla Glass, this is neither supported by official Samsung specs nor is it borne out by experience. I can state this with certainty because mine got scratched a week after I bought it. Overall a decent phone for the price I paid (€299); excellent colours, beautiful resolution; updated to Marshmallow on about July 15 (Greece); on second thought, for the same amount of money I could have had an iPhone 5s, if only I'd been patient enough to wait a few days for the courier. After using an Xperia SP and and iPhone 3gs I have this to say: both Sony and Apple have superior photo sensors and software to Samsung, based on my limited experience. As for text input (I write a lot, in several European languages), Android 6 text prediction can't hold a candle to iOS 6's! So, I'm looking to sell mine already, even though I have invested about €100 in Android apps. Apple has the better system, no question.

  • The original battery production code is different for Galaxy S5 and S5 Neo. However at Amazon.com you may find OEM battery for both S5 and S5 Neo - just make a search for "Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo battery". So probably the battery is the same. Still you may use any external portable USB battery pack charger (with a short USB cable) for recharging - it works pretty fast, recharging the phone to 100%. BTW, the Galaxy S5 Neo works pretty well as a perfect GPS navigation device - for walking or by car (with universal car vent mount) with free GPS navigation apps like HERE Maps, MapFactor Navigator, Scout Navigation apps.

  • We bough a Samsung galaxy s5 neo and did an abonnement,and at the first we didn't compared it but s5 neo its just the stripped version of the original s5,they took all the nice and modern things from the original version such as Corning gorilla glass 3,touchWizz UI,fingerprint sensor,wireless charging,infrared port,the original s5 can make 4k videos,and s5 neo did not,and another features...and whats the result after this stripping? I see only improvement of the battery life and improvement of the Samsung Camera App (the loud shutter noise is now quite, no camera app resets anymore - this was the only app with a problem in Android 5.1.1). The Android 6.0.1 seems to be stable with better battery optimization (some apps are switched off during the night). The Samsung Camera App is now stable (this app was doing sometimes resets with the previous version 5.1.1). There is no special forum here "for customers" because this site doesn't offer phones and customer service. You may contact your reseller or Samsung customer support only and ask there for their solution. You may do Google (or Youtube) search for "Samsung S5 Neo microphone fix" and find other forums where people are complaining from the same problem and suggesting solutions too (hairpin in the mic hole, restart in safe mode, etc). You may complain there too if it makes you happy. You may do Google (or Youtube) search for "iPhone 6 microphone fix" and you will find other customers complaining from the same problem. The same problem could happen with every other phone...

  • Regarding the sound volume - mine is absolutely normal. You may use Settings -> Sound and Notifications, and setup the Ringtone, Notification volume level. Regarding the storage volume - just use micro SD card (up to 128GB), they are cheap now. Use the Apps Manager to move your Apps to the microSD card. For some Apps (like different Camera Apps or Nokia Here Maps, MapFactor Navigation, where you may need to install additional country maps) you may need to go to the App Settings and choose Storage location to the external SD card (for storing the images/videos or downloading the additional country/continent maps). Use the preinstalled Samsung Smart Manager (there is also nice widget) to clean the RAM memory and junk files. You may use for the same also Cheetah Clean Master or File Manager apps. You may use microUSB cable to connect the phone to your computer and transfer large files to the phone (videos, movies, books). Don't forget you may use the preinstalled Radio app for listening to music - the quality is excellent and it is almost not using the battery.

  • I don't know why you have problems of all kinds with this phone (0 . o). I bought this phone 5 months ago, and it still works like new ; ). I don't have any problems with the microfone or with the weak signal. All the persons I have phoned said that they hear my voice clear. I don't complain about the absence of the fingerprint scanner. I have researched on Internet and I have found out that it is very easy to foul a fingerprint scanner. The Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo is a very good phone and I recomend it ; ).

In case you have previous Android account (smartphone or tablet), just login in with your Android account and all your previously used apps would be automatically installed.   • You should beware that making telephone calls while driving is illegal in every country. You may use bluetooth or regular handsfree headset. Regarding the car radio - Galaxy S5 Neo has a MirrorLink function (bluetooth) - works only for certain car radios. You may checkup at the user manual or just Google for "MirrorLink Samsung". In case you use a headset jack for speaker only connection, then you are blocking the microphone indeed. Probably bluetooth handsfree headset may help then. You may use the Galaxy S5 Neo in your car like navigation device too - works well with Nokia Here Maps app or MapFactor Navigator app (both free apps). You just need a car holder - Google for "Car Air Vent Mount Cradle Mount Phone Holder Samsung S5".

  • Some Android apps may not work well with Android 5.11 (or next Android 6.0) - just use properly working Android apps. Beware of viruses too - there are games apps containing malware.

  • hi all i just got a brand new s5 neo and really like it....One Problem: when my phone is plugged into my car stereo (from mobile's mini jack to car stereo's aux mini) and I make a call...I can hear the other person's voice over the stereo but they cannot hear me at all.   • I have had cell phones since 1995 and this is the worst phone by far. Maybe it was built on a Monday or Friday I have no idea, but one thing for sure, if I had the bucks to get rid of it I would!!!!! I just changed phones in March so have a very long way to go, I expect this one will be in the brink before then. We returned from a trip and the phone took over a week to catch up that it was home, gave me Miami weather reports for a long time, in other words did not recognize that it was back in home port. The screen saver, even though I have it timed at 2 minutes, returns if I move my finger from the screen and I have to go thru the sign on process again. Every app I open I have to go thru a sign on process (I so hate it) I know this process is suppose to be a safety But really, every app. Once the phone is open it should stay open for all apps. I changed from a Blackberry to a Samsung as I needed the android and Blackberry was just to expensive for a retired soul business owner. I so wish I'd picked the iPhone, I did have an option. Now to find someone in Samsung industry who may care.

  • Fingerprint scanner is not reliable and your personal identity could be easily exposed. However you may use "Smart Lock" - it would auto unlock the display at home and trusted locations.

I have exactly the same problem : when listening with some bise reducing headset, when on the headset increase or add a parasite background noise that is really low when off.   • Just got a security/performance update to my S5 Neo, build number LMY47X.G903FXXU1APA2 This is not marshmallow, just a bug fix for Lollipop, however the performance improvement is noticeable. They seem to have fixed the camera as well so it is using more reasonable shutter speeds so you get fewer blurry pictures. The camera app also launches quicker.

  • Just got this phone last Friday, so far i like it. Not such great speed for an octacore, but it's ok, as this saves a lot of battery life. Battery life seems decent, also dropped in the good old Nova Launcher instead of the default one and things got a tad faster. Used it quite a bit with some no-name VR Glasses, the experience was smooth and nice, the sensors work very well and the image is sharp and clear, as expected from a Full HD panel. Sits nice in my palm even if I've got small hands, the battery lasts ok so far, after two full days of moderate usage i was at 61%, so that's quite cool. Does not overheat even when used for VR Gaming, another forte for this handset. Lots of bloatware in the original firmware from my local carrier, but I've disabled most of it. Decent handset, good looking, ok battery life, nice screen, interesting to very good camera in both photo and video modes and on both the front and the main camera, replaceable battery if i will need this and i can say i like the fact that i will not have a heart attach if i drop a glass of water on it by accident, as i am a bit clumsy sometimes :))) A very clear upgrade from my previous Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini, that is still one of my favorite handsets ever. Me likey Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo!

  • Recently got an S5 Neo, the phone works ok but I think either the headphone is faulty or there is some comparability issue with my headphones. I have PSB headphones, with the noise reduction on there is a mass of hissing and "white noise" in the background, it is not that noticeable with nr off, but wit it on the music sounds bad. I tried those same headphones in a Samsung S6 and there is no problem at all, sounds great. I copied music from the S5 to the S6 (in case it was the music) and what sounds bad on the S5 sounds great on the S6 I copied music from the SD card in the S5 onto the actual phone (S5) and the white noise is still there Using normal (low quality) ear buds on the S5 and the music seems muted and not clear. So either a faulty phone or the quality of the soun in the S5 is lacking (ill find out tomorrow as a replacement is coming). Hopefully it is a faulty device as I generally really like Samsung and although the S7 can carry a SD Card it is expensive (the S6 doesnt have a slot for an SD Card). I used my phone as a music player too so it is essential I have decent quality audio.

  • Phone as S5 only two problems. CPU design by Samsung with 8 core but speed this same as Quallcomm with 4 core. Another problem, breakable screen glass not strong like gorila glass in standart s5. My screen split after fall from a chair.

The only thing that is hasn't is optical zoom. Besides the best camera it has IP86. So the phone can resist water and dust. Now you can make pictures in every wheater condition.

  • Terrible phone and poor service. The phone (s5 neo), or at least the version I have, does not have a Privacy Mode, notwithstanding that both the s4 and s5 have this function. My s5neo also unilaterally turns off the Atomatic Time and Automatic Time Zone functions so that every time I go to use the phone I get a notice telling me to manually adjust the time. Based on my discussions with Samsung they could care less about this dissatisfied customer. After speaking to their front line person who had the sense to escalate the matter to the next level, I was transfeered to a dimwit who asked me what the problem was. As i had just given him my ticket number,I suggested he read the notes his collegue had listed therein. This talented Customer Service Rep. would have preferred to have me repeat the whole long story about how I believed that it was Samsung's duty to explicitly advise customers when it removed functions etc., but he grudgingly agreed to do so, asking me to hold on while he reviewed the file. He ended the conversation with the classic "since we dont sell the phone, we cant replace it". Great service huh?

  • I believe you, but you don't understand me totally. I don't use my phone for my photography projects or seriaus photography work. Phone in the studio would be stupid. I'm talking about freetime street photography, some picture taking at work (nothing to do with photography) especially close ups in which part this phone struglles. Once you will understand the difference between those parts - seriousness and leisure with no backpack full of gear - you'll understand my critics. Taking this phone out for street photography is not a good choice because of the slow shutter speeds and lack of OIS. I've told that before. And please don't tell me about powerfull pocket compacts, I know about them, just be quiet. OK? I don't want them. OK? Many many many people use their phones for street photography, because they are always in your pocket and they are discreet. So this budget S5 Neo solution is not suitable for that. I made a mistake buying it.

  • You should understand the difference between DSLR camera with several very heavy lenses, a light mini camera and a smartphone. Don't blame your smartphone camera. My DSLR cameras and lenses stay at home for years. I shoot mainly video and my smartphone can not help me in that. There is a big difference between video with tripod or 14X optical stabilization and without any, believe me.

  • When I said 4cm - it is approximately indeed. To be precise - the EXIF information at the photos says 3.7mm. Hopefully that would help.

  • Well, I do. It may focus at 15 cm if you're lucky. Mostly you have to work hard to make it close focus everytime, like searh for contrasty parts of the object and etc. Only then, once focus is on and sharp, you can get few more cm closer. But to 4 cm to the object.. This is not true or this said person doesn't see a difference between "in focus" and "out of focus". I use my phone at work and I'm amateur photographer so I know what I'm saying.

The Galaxy S5 Neo is rumored to receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow sooner or later. Not sure if this update will bring any meaningful features.

  • I am looking for a new phone for a long time now. And I came across two phones that I liked the a5 2016 and the galaxy s5 neo (or new edition). I looked the specs of this two phones and they have the same chipset, ram, screen. Basically the difference between than is the camera a5 13mp s5 16mp, both have f1.9. And the s5 neo is 64 bits as the a5 isn't. And the benchmark scores off both are basically the same difference maybe of 1 or 2 %. I was wondering with one should I chose as I can find both for the same price right now in my country.

  • There is my thoughts on this phone after a few months: Generally phone is all right, pretty good value for the money, but... processor is quite slow. And something tell me that octa-core 1.6 Ghz processor could do much more than it does. It feels somehow restricted, slowed down. Opening even light exel file or simple game like "plants vs zombies vol 1" takes ages. Picture quality is very good I should say, but.. Camera chooses very slow shutter speeds. It causes many many many f**ked up pictures. You have to stand still breathless when taking pictures. It is weird really, coz it has a bright lens with 1.9 aperture and an average sensor size. Anyway, in this matter, save a bit more € and get A5 (2016) which has an OIS. And it doesn't do macro. Closest you can get to the object to get it in focus is 20-30 cm. But this is not macro at all. Other toys like waterprofness, finger scanners and other toys I dont need so I don't care. So if you want a phone which is slow, doesn't have a gorrila glass, has no OIS, will not have any support (marshmellow or whatever) in the future buy this crap. Otherwise save a bit more money and get A5 or anything else but samsung.

  • Most things of what you said are right but....shutter speed goes down to 1/17 and this is verified but many people.Setting a higher ISO is not the solution.You might get a little faster speed but you also get a lot of digital noise.So it is better is shoot a darker photo and make it lighter in post editing managing the noise than getting a very noisy image which if you edit it later you will get it softer.

  • I am reading all these posts about blurry photos.I would say this.The camera of S5 Neo is very good,not excellent but very good.But...whoever designed the camera drivers made a huge mistake.I guess he had no idea of photography.On one hand they have almost no "Scenes".On the other hand,the HUGE mistake is that during low light conditions,the set the minimum exposure time to 1/17th of a second.This is impossible to hold your hand still.The best a normal user can hold still is,I believe 1/40th of a second.The same happens when using the flash.The camera behaves the same.This is A REAL FAILURE of Samsung.I have this problem and I guess all of you have it...but you still haven't realize it.I call all of you to send an email to your local Samsung branch about it in order to fix it with a minor update.Or else forget nice and stable pictures.If they wont release an update soon (or after upgrading to Andriod 6) I am going to sell it.

Then there was s5 mini, but it's not available anymore. Also z3 compact, but i've heard it's very fragile. My dad and my friend have the original s5 and highly recommend it, so i got interested in s5 neo, which is cheaper. I've read around the comments and its like you're talking about two different phones? One is an excellent phone but another one has problems with calling, picturing and music playback. Or is it different opinions about sammy? How to tell if the phone will work well? Where did you buy yours from?

  • The Z3 compact is a fantastic phone, except it's very fragile. Mine fell apart (screen fell out) after about 8 months. Check the Amazon reviews. It's really sad.

  • The S5 Neo takes sharper pictures (16 vs 13 mpx). Front camera is the same on both models - 5 mpx with a f/1.9. The A5 will get software updates a bit longer because it´s a brand new phone but the past has shown that google only brings stability and security updates to their OS so you won´t see any new features through an update anyway.

  • You mean the 2014 A5 or 2016 A5? The S5 Neo is much better than the original A5. But the new A5 is pretty much the same as the S5 Neo except that the S5 Neo is waterproof and the A5 has a fingerprint sensor which the S5 Neo does not. The battery is pretty much the same, A5 has slightly larger but also a bigger screen to power. Then the design is nicer with the A5. So depends if you prefer a fingerprint sensor or having a waterproof phone :D.

  • So, this is my oppinion after 2 months of using the S5 Neo. Battery life is just good enough, i am using and using it over the day, my 4g always stays on and it lasts about 2 days I could not say a lot of things about the camera but i borrowed it to a friend and she says that the selfies are cool and normal photos are great :D About games, i'm not very into a lot of games but i can say that i played Dead Trigger 2 and No Limits but it didn't even heated up maybe just a lil bit. I have 5.1.1 as the OS and i like it it's very cool and doesn't bug. What i don't like at the OS is that i can't make folders anymore..i hope they do something with that if 6.0 comes on this phone. No problems with the signal or wirelles (as of my country Romania) The sound quality when you use the speaker it's not great but also not bad, but with my skullcandy earbuds it sounds very very good clear and the bass rolls :) No problems with bluetooth location maps or with any messaging app. It runs smooth, even though it has a micro-lag in the menu when you switch pages but that happens if you use the normal theme. Charges quite fast with the phone's cord As for the water resistant i used it on full rain and snow and didn't have a problem with it so far. In the end..i am happy with my phone so far, if i run into anything i'll come back here and write. Ps:sorry for my english:(

  • After my galaxy s6 got stolen i needed a new (cheaper) phone. I got the s5 neo now for 1 week. My first impression is very good! The camera is definitely a litle less than the one on the s6. The s5 neo sometimes gives blurry pics, you really need a steady hand. Other than that i dont notice any difference (performance wise) in the s5 neo and the s6. I do need to say that i dont play games on my phone so maybe you would notice some there. Also i had no spontaneous startups (yet, the s6 did by the way) and reception is good! Also the battery is better that the one in the s6. All in all i am very happy with the s5 neo. Summary: waterproof, better (and removable) battery, fast (enough) processor, no glass back and a good low price

  • This phone is a piece of junk, I had a S3 before and it worked way better than the S5 Neo, the sound quality is poor on phone calls, it sounds bad, people on the other end cant hear me and I can't hear them clearly,it sounds squeaky like a busted speaker. Using the speaker for music or phone calls is low even at full volume. Also in the phone call logs it does not retain the caller's name like the S3 did. THE ONLY UP SIDE TO IT IS THE BATTERY LIFE IS BETTER THAN THE S3. I would give this phone 1 STAR because of the battery, but the main reason I need a phone is to make calls and this phone does not do that well.

  • hey it has no bug i have tested it properly on low light it was 1/15 1/17 1/369 1/30 1/60 at same place but different angle..... camera is fine just learn how to use it if you use auto mode it can happen use pro or hdr with hdr no such 1/17 or use auto plus flash on without flash use hdr nice low light pictures and my device is sm-g903f and my microphone sound is loud and clear and so is my speaker too!!!! nice and loud !!!!!

  • Have had my s5 neo for about 30 days, im not sure if the bad sound quality is from people trying to use after submerging the phone in water? But my sound quality is good (for a cell phone) much better than my Iphone 5. Charges quickly (with correct cord) aftermarket cords seem to charge it very slowly (probably not enough mA) functionality is great, the only thing I wish the phone had were covers for the microusb/headphone jack for when using in wet locations. Wifi range is excellent (much better than my Iphone 5) and receives 1-2 bars more in my home compared to my old Iphone 5. Battery life is sub par, but not horrible (equal to Iphone 5, much worse than previous blackberry phones)

  • After using it for a few months, something has failed in antenna or microphone, not sure. Absolutely imposible to hear when talking to someone. As well nobody could not understand me. Sound was breaking up and vibrating, very similar to low reception, but then it had full bars. No clue. Took it to warranty service.

  • I have found a bug in the camera usage which is very annoying.When using the flash, the exposure time (lets say shutter speed) should lock to 1/60sec or at least 1/40 sec.Instead,if you shoot in a low light environment it locks down to...1/17sec.At this speed it is almost impossible to hold your hand still, especially when you are at a party or a club, when everyone is moving! The camera drivers have really bad configuration.It is stupid and almost unusable at low light conditions.I contact my country's Samsung branch but from their replies I realized that they didnt understand anything...they told me to take it to the service..are they stupid or not!?!?!? I hope some of you to test it and then post it to Samsung so that they will change it soon.

  • Overall, the S5 Neo is the better of the two despite the 4K and QHD display missing. Those are trade offs, in my opinion, I can live with given it has improved the cameras and the f Stop is 1.9 which takes great low light pics (took ours to Disney World and got some great pics). Some S6 features like the camera's Quick Launch is very handy. Very zippy phone and so far, no complaints.

  • That depends what kind of phone you need. The Neo has a better camera/selfie camera and it takes better pictures in dark.. The battery is better, it has the newest touchwiz, it has a radio, and it is cheaper. The S5 is a lil bit faster, and it has An IR Blaster, that the neo doesn't have. If you game much or use other hard applications that require a lot of computing power or want to secure everything with fingerprint you should go for the S5. If you want to take beautiful pictures, FM Radio and a more user friendly phone you should go for the Neo.

  • Only had it a day. This phone replaces a one year old bb passport( which I will miss dearly) due too rain damage again. Tough to get used to lollipop after being spoiled by bb os. This phone does not have a good earpiece, and sound quality suffers somewhat. Overall performance is good, for the price. Pictures are also quite good. Will post again in a month

  • AVOID AVOID AVOID! This specific model has problems with the audio output. Noisy and hissy output on ALL the three S5 Neo phones that I tested out, which means that there is an obvious design flaw on this model. Samsung might give you the good specs on paper, but from my experience their phones are cheap, and the build quality is poor.

  • Looks like you've bought a piece of crap from the gray market. Original S5 Neo works just fine: doesn't heat, battery charges up fast enough, has a gorilla glass 3 screen, battery keeps full day with heavy usage, which is enough, Screen auto dimm and flash works just fine. I don't care what micro USB port it has - it does the job. This phone is a bang for a buck.

  • It is not a loose back cover message as you think. It pops up every time after phone was restarted. It reminds you to make sure back cover is firmly in its place before you put it into the water. Because it's WATERPROOF.

  • First time phone review, so I will try to be concise. Bell Canada replaced my Galaxy S5 with a Galaxy S5 NEO. After using the Neo for a week (GS5 was 7 months old before I broke it) these are my thoughts. Battery life is WORSE than the original S5 and I have less apps running/installed on the Neo. Also, the Neo has the regular micro USB port while the S5 had the larger port with a different charging cable. I've noticed the Neo model charges much slower. This thing overheats like a mofo. Screen will auto dim and camera flash will not work. The Neo also lacks Gorilla glass. This hasn't been an issue, however it feels like a downgrade to me. I would avoid this phone if possible.

They confirmed that it has an FM receiver in the hardware, but that you can't access it, other than through internet radio. What's the point of that?   • I keep coming back for this wonderful phone. It has the right size and the right grip on your hands, it's got good water-resistant (both headphone jack and USB charging port according to Samsung) and an improved camera (from last year's S5) and a cleaner/lighter/faster Touchwhiz that i have not seen before. For its price and specs i will definitely recommend this phone to anyone.

  • There is no Gorilla glass on the Neo, only on the S5. It's not a great loss, frankly, I've noticed that some of the phones that I've used with Gorilla glass are not as sensitive to touch, so typing on them can be a pain.

  • If your having problems with the camera then you need to check the settings as it might be set on a lower resolution. If it's set on the maximum resolution of 16MP then I would say there's a fault with the camera as mine takes high quality photos.

  • Light bar (and EV+/- in Advanced mode) doesn't work in low light! Annoying. Next issue is sometimes it turn off screen just when I start unlock it. Ab 2-3s after pressing button to unlock.

  • Hmm, bought the Galaxy S5 Duos for my dad instead of this phone. Some major reasons:- 1) Better processor: Snapdragon 801 is more powerful than Exynos 7580, although 7580 is more power efficient. 2) 4K video recording. Seriously I don't see a single good reason why Samsung removed it on S5 Neo. The S5 Duo records 4K videos perfectly, heck even my iPhone 5s now records 4K video with aplomb by using an app called ProCam 3. 3) Dual sim facility. My Dad needed it so S5 Duos clearly had upper hand here. 4) Fingerprint sensor, unfortunately Samsung dropped this feature in S5 Neo. It's a good feature, I can't fathom why they removed it. 5) And of course the most important factor, goddamn the Galaxy S5 Duos is cheaper than S5 Neo, seriously why would someone with his brain in right place gonna pay more for a less powerful phone.

  • I have just recently bought this phone after having my S3 for 3 years! Decided on the S5 neo instead of the S6 as I could not justify the S6 being double the price and the fact that it has such a small battery! (No point having all the cool gimmics if you don't have the power to sustain them) First A 100% charge lasted 2 days of heavy usage without dying or even complaining about low battery! (it's a new toy so I barely let go of it) My last phone couldn't make it a day of reasonable useage without a top up charge! The only issue I am finding is that there is very little option to add wireless charging functionality to it. There are devices that claim to be compatible with the s5 and s5 neo but I am a bit confused as to how the connectors work. The s5 has 5 connectors arranged in an "L" shape and the s5 neo has 2 in a ":" shape. From what I have seen there are various wireless charging inserts that can be fitted and they all seem to have different pin orientations. Not quite sure which to get and I don'the want to waste money on the wrong one. Any suggestions? Camera is very good but the settings seem a bit too simplified. I think my S3 had better picture quality with its 8mp camera, however the increased dpi and resolution of this device probably show more grainyness than the s3 screen would have. All in all it is a fantastic device for a very reasonable price! I am very happy with it.

  • Change your SD card with a samsung SD. I had the same problem with a sandisk card and I solved replacing with a Samsung SD. No more problem at all.

  • I tried some S5 S-view covers , they fit perfectly, but the S-View doesn't work. I believe this phone does not have the S-View function, because there is no option in the 'settings' menu for turning on/off the S-View function.

  • I can get 2 days out of mine quite easily. I play chess or other simple games on the bus, take occasional photos, use whatsapp a lot and make 5-10 calls a day. Screen brightness at about one third.

  • If you want true performance, the S5 is better. The Neo looks better in my opinion and doesn't have a cover on the usb. The front camera is also better on the Neo. The S5 also has fingerprint recognition and infrared but most people don't use those anyway.

  • Just bought this s5 New Addition NEO at the Samsung Store Airport in Panama. Wanted a non network phone unlocked as I travel international a lot. Got home and set it up and got all my apps. Now after using I realize the proximity sensors do not work! Just like my mini s4. So, when you place a call the screen goes dark and have to hit the power button to come back on. there is no adjustment for this on this model.

I deactivate some useless apps (for me) like Galaxy apps, Briefing, all the bigest microsoft apps (I prefer wps office app), hangouts. samsung print service plugin, samsung push service, skype. I close the s-health and NFC sensor. I deactivate the gestures direct call. After all, the battery life improved very much!!! Now the phone can work for two days with normal use with always open data or wifi (except when I sleep) and it can have 7-8 hours on screen!!!!

  • Problem with battery draining might also be related to the country where you live or with roaming . For example I live in Romania ( have a Sony z3 compact ) .But I work in UK every 2 weeks . In RO , no problem with my battery . Lasts 1 and half day with normal usage (mail, u tube, calls , sms ) . The moment I turn it on in UK (after flight ) the battery life starts vanishing like there is no tomorrow 4h to dead . I tried turning off Data roaming , mobile data , wireless , Bluetooth . Activated Stamina mode ...the same . The only thing that works is Ultra-stamina mode .... which restarts the phone just with basic options and no Apps ( much like SAFE mode in windows ). And no clues why this happens

  • I had buy this phone a week ago. The new touchwiz lag quite. With other launchers like Nova, not. Amazing display, with absolutely nice colors, very very good visibility at strong sun. Everything it's ok. Only battery don't like. It loose 2% per hour in standby with data or wifi open. I synch many accounts (2 emails clouds storage google accounts etc) and I have some apps (not many) I don't play games. My use is web internet surf and social media apps and with some phones of course. The battery lasts about 30hours with normal use and 4 hours on screen. For me, it's not good performance. The 83 hours who tell us gsmarena, it is many miles away from truth!

  • S5 Neo vs. P8 Well my wifeÂ’s got S5 neo while IÂ’ve got p8, I can tell you the P8 is much more better in every case. Though S5 neo seems to be faster, if it counts but, in every day use you wonÂ’t see any differences. I checked both in Antutu and Benchmark test, and P8 wins, though not too much (score: 50734 to 48673) S5 Noe RAM is 2 GB but remains only 530 MB, while P8 3GB remains 1.52GB because P8 EMUI interface is much more balanced and optimalized than S5 NeoÂ’s interface. As a result of this, the battery is enough for 1,5 day in normal mode, Comparing the two camera performance, it is absolutely clear that P8 is superior and better! P8Â’s got optical image stabilizer too, but S5 Noe not. Though the S5 focuses and shots faster ( the diff.is about 0.3 sec. so not too much) but the pictures of the P8 are more vibrant, clearer, and sharper with less noise than S5. With the help of OIS, P8 makes brilliant night shots. ItÂ’s one of the best in the market.

The P8 is a winner, if we are talking about the design, and the placement of the speaker. The G4 is a bigger device, and if you go for the leather version, you should know, that after 2,3 months, that leather will look like hell. The camera quality on the G4 is the best among these 3 smart phones. The battery life is indeed lower on the G4. You can also try a Sony device, if you care about the battery life.

  • Just got the S5 Neo. And I'm having an annoying problem with it (aside from the lagging). Whenever I press the wake up button (to wake it from sleep) it turns on, and turns right back off... It does this up to 3 times before I can get it to stay on. Also, I have the option to keep it unlocked in certain places that I tell it to (like home for example), but it still asks me to type my pin on there, even though I'm at home. Is anyone else having these problems? I only have 3 more days to return this phone, so I'd like to try to get this issue fixed before I make the decision to return it.

  • I finally took the plunge and bought the Galaxy S5 Neo, from using the Galaxy S2, which, in my opinion, is the best of the galaxies! This phone is lovely looking, however features look and feel primitive and slow. Very happy with it though and worth the £309.99 I paid. Didn't want to be locked into a 24mth contract! I just won't be able to eat until the end of the month if that! I only have a couple of issues. When I make a call screen goes black until I press the home key and voice notes on Whatsapp are practically inaudible - any suggestions please! And, what exactly is the difference between the S5 and S5 Neo?

The first battery cycle was impressive: 30h (7h offline), 6 hours of screen on (brightness level: 50%), 30 minutes of calls, a lot of What'sApp texting, mail (no push), no gaming. After last update, it seems a little bit worse: dozens of Google "services" always running that wake-up phone (why Google? why more and more?!). I will test it for a few more days...

  • It's not so cheap. Same price range as its predecessors. Hardware and software-wise it's a pretty fair deal.

  • I have used this phone for a while now and done about 6 factory restores because of battery drain issue. It also has a serious LTE (4g) Issues in nordic countries and will drop from 4g to 3g every time someone calls you and you have to restart the phone after to get the 4g running again. The Phone can be used only 4 hours or so before the battery dies... I did the last factory reset today because my phone shut itself down over night despite having no apps open on background and when I went to sleep it had 64% battery. Do not buy this unless you are ready to fight to have it fixed because depending where you bought this piece of garbage this problem might or might not be covered by warranty because it is actually android and firmware problem. I had the exact same problem with the new S4 LTE version but luckily there is a root and custom roms available to fix this. However S5 Neo does not have that as an option, atleast not yet.

  • I bought last week the Samsung Galaxy S3 NEO may very good in specs & price but INDEED VERY POOR in actual life performance . It worked for a couble of days with no problems at all. In a previous forum I state that I could not log into my email account. After 45 minutes on tel with CYTA emploey he could not help me. But after parallel run with my old SGS3 managed to set the correct incoming & outgoing server & was ok , but not for long time . On Sunday October the 18th mid day the mobile started ringing all alone with a black screen & could not stop it,s I had to remove the battery to stop it from ringing. After I have restared it , it could not recognise the sd micro 16GHz NEITHER log into the wifi . On Monday took it back to CYTA shop NAXOU str. LYKAVITOS NICOSIA from where I bought. After about 2 hours of trying to load new software , I was told the phone was ok, it read again the sd card & log into the wifi. On my intistance that I an not happy with this mashine I strongly ask to let me have another phone of same brand & model or even go for same brand or another model. Instead ( after having very strong arguments not only with the graund emploees but with high rang managers )they dicided to sent it to the service depo of SG in Cyprus for furtehr invastication into the problem. I was also told that I should have downloaded the new sofware myself. This absolutely rediculous to blame the customer for NOT dowloading the new software, something they shouls have done before delivering the phone to me. I shall revetr as soon as the phone is back in my hands for any further comments.

  • Battery drain is fixed. Make sure to disable "ANT radio srvice" and ANT+ plugins service". Those two were causing big energy usage.

  • Go to imei.info, type the IMEI u have and take a look!

  • Post again after you have a full battery drain.

  • Just got it but much to my regret this model of SGS5NEO could not log into my email account even I had been on the phone with CYTA the phone vendor FOR 45 MINUTES they could not help me resolve my problem even if we had in parallel both phones set up all details for incoming & outgoing server. My old SGS3 even without sim card was sending & receiving emails BUT the new machine SGS5NEO could not. So CYTA ask me to take it back to the shop from where I bought it to check it if this is a difective one or if this is the phones disadvantage. Regards Bebesat

  • Do not buy!!! I went from iPhone 5s to s5, love love loved the s5 but i found it was too darn slow but an excellent smartphone. Network recommended s5neo instead as it was newer and improved. It's basically the toy version of the s5. I HATE it. My "brand new" neo constantly tells me to check the back cover at all times, (randomly flashes up even though the backs on correctly) would say my memory card has been unmounted for no reason. its just horrid. Many features from the s5 have been removed. If you are an avid samsung user, especially if you have the s5 you will definitely spot the differences. As I said before I had the s5 for about 10 days and could spot that I wasn't feeling the "improved" neo about 30mins in using it... Had the neo got about 10days also but have sent back. Going to go back to the s5!!!

  • I picked up the S5 neo in the local EE shop when I upgraded at the weekend. It's what they were touting at the time. I've always had HTC previously. The S5 Neo seems ok. I'm not a feature buff but already miss the Infrared interface (for tv remote etc.). I never thought to check the spec. I assumed that in this day and age... I took it for granted that the S5 Neo would integrate with my car via BlueTooth. My old HTC read out text messages when in car mode. I should have checked the spec. No hands free/car mode on the S5 Neo? In this day and age? I've tried numerous third part apps but none of them deliver as hoped. Even the paid for apps. I can only hope that Samsung reinstate such a basic feature in any future firmware upgrade. I suspect I'll be back on HTC before that happens :(

  • Thanks, man. I thought I should have restarted it after instalations. Will see tonight. I had switched off every single feature and preinstaled bloatware I don't need. So I didin't expected such a massive battery power loss over night. My ex S4 mini used to drop no more than 10% over night, with wifi and sync on. Speaking about OS: Lolipop compared to Kitkat is such a disaster...

  • Most likely this was your initial setup and sync running over night. After you get all the initial updates for your apps make sure and reboot your phone. Especially the Google services can get hung up and keep your phone awake. After that you should have good batter life. Last night when I put my phone on the charger before bed it had been awake for 40 hours with 5 hours of screen on time. That included about 6 hours of listening to podcasts and an hour of phone calls. I would also recommend turning off Download booster under More connection settings. This will use your data plan while connected to wifi, but also using the radio which drains more battery when downloading things. Hope that helps.

  • Bought it yesterday. Battery dropped a little worrying ~30% of juices over night. Sync and wifi were on, but everything else switched off. Maybe I've missed something in the settings, maybe battery will get better after some charging cycles.. Hope so.

  • Go to a phone shop. Pretend you are reselling it. They won't accept a fake S5 Neo. They know better. They will accept it if it is genuine. This is fool proof method to know if it is fake or not. If you don't want to do that you can go watch an unboxing video from youtube. They show a walk through on the phone from A to Z. You know it genuine if it is the same as the video.

Right now I use Google launcher Now and it work realy fine. Soo for thoose persons who they don't know what choose.... If you prefer good pictures or/and long time working at battery - take S5 neo. For players - S5- it better for games.

  • Well, theoretically, S5 Neo has the same sensor as A8 or Note 5. But A8 and S5Neo camera features are trimmed down compared to Note 5. It doesn't have Image Stabilization, worse video capabilities and etc. S6 has different sensor previous generation, it's bigger so more protruded, but I think it's better.

  • Any experience on camera quality? I have been checking out the S5 neo camera at a local store and comparing the image quality with the S6 next to it. Just barely more noise in low light with the S5 neo, but generally good and comparable to S6. However, the S5 neo image colors are all more "bluish" and "colder" than experienced with the S6. I have tried different units and this difference is always there. Any comments - or are there some camera settings I should have adjusted, that just happen to make this consistent difference? At least I did not see any.

  • The main camera has a 16Mpx CMOS sensor with a F1.9 lens (equivalent focal length: 28mm). Original S5 has a F2.2 lens (31mm) so the Neo camera take better photo in low-light environments. Also front camera has F1.9 lens (5Mpx CMOS).

  • The S5 Neo is actually the phone I have been waiting for. I am not a spec whore and don't need the fastest phone on the market, nor the best camera. I am happy with a phone that is decently spec'd, doesn't get too warm, and isn't made of metal. I personally just don't like the feel of metal phones, they are always too warm, or cool when I pick them up. Water and dust certification was a must. I enjoy not having to worry about my device when I am out in in-climate weather. The real winner for this phone is battery life. I didn't plug my phone in last night and as of now, it has 30 hours of run time, and 4 hours of screen on time with 30% battery left. For me it ticks all the boxes and I thank Samsung for making a phone that finally does this.

  • Well I am impressed. Had the S5 and it overheated. This don't its so much faster. An no hear issues. But I have niggles. battery life seems not as good old S5. And the ringtones don't seem as loud as old S5. but nice not having the flap on the bottom, and its still waterproof. Other than that really good.

  • About performance: with the TouchWix it's unlikely to have a (totally) free lag experience! Probably you can find another phone with same price without any lag... but... in my opinion this device is "good enough" considering ALL features (wonderful display, camera, ram, battery, water resistance, etc).

  • About 32bit vs 64bit, Android Lollipop is the first version that natively supporting 64bit processor but exactly like Computer: you need 64bit-optimezed software to take full advantage of 64bit cpu. In other way: using app that not use a lot of cpu there are no great difference between 32bit and 64bit. I think that 64bit architecture has been "introduced" only to support future devices with more than 4GB of Ram.

  • I don't have any problems with lesser performance... Just wanted to know if the performance is satisfactory enough for a phone that might cost $440 or roughly 29000 inr... I'm not much of a hardcore gamer and I just want a lag free performance in day to day usage... Regarding the battery life it should definitely improve as the exynos 7580 is manufactured by the 14nm process. One more thing the exynos is a 64 bit processor as compared to the 32 bit processor in original s5, so what are the advantages of having a 64 bit processor over a 32 bit. ..???

  • I'm sure that the Neo lack the finger print sensors as many others. But in my opinion these sensors (like IR) are not fundamental. About Cpu: yes, the exynos "made in Samsung" is less powerful than Cpu of original S5 but I think that you can feel the difference only in 3D games and the positive thing is that battery life might improve (the first review about Neo seems to confirm that).

  • I have the S5 Neo, it has the heart rate sensor (but not the fingerprint), it support usb OTG, the camera is a k16llia00sm with an aperture of f/1.9 like the S6 and is the same used by the Samsung Galaxy A8 (SM-A800F).

  • I bought this Samsung S5 Neo device 4 days ago via belsimple NL and let me share my thoughts at it. It has an fm radio which I like. The rear camera has a 16mp with a 1.9 aperture ! The same sensor size you can find in Samsung S6. The front camera has now 5mp with an aperture of 1.9 too ! The aperture sizes surely helps with low light photos. The pictures i have taken really looks great beause it uses an isocell sensor which has the technology of avoiding color leaks thus producing an accurate color. For more information about the device, you can check the full specs at samsung.com/nl. The battery is great up to two days average use. Screen is awesome despite being 1080p. I bought a Belkin classic folio case which makes it looking elegant. I bought the Gold S5 neo. You get a picture quality and camera specs of S6 series at almost half its price. You get a removable battery with an expandable memory up to 128gb. And lastly, the best thing about the S5 neo ui is almost near stock android. The touchwiz ui is fast on this, no lag so far. No unnecessary bloatware as compared to previous S series. The sound quality using the included earphones is awesome. I hope i was able to answer some questions here.

  • Yes, and they disable FM Radio on purpose to ensure that you'll get a Paid Data Plan, it's all about selling their services !

  • From my point of view, 5" screen is the actual standard, going beyond 5.1 is somehow mad, it makes the device unusable with one hand which is not convinient for most users. Glad that Samsung sticked to the old 5.1 display.

  • Actually all smartphone have FM radio. The FM chip is always there inside te smartphone but over 2/3 of smartphone market don't activate this chips. Just like LTE capability in Lumia phones. Its there but some are just not activated.
