Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport - User Reviews

  • its a great phone even better is the water resistance but it sholve had dust resistance but still a great phone

  • is not water resistance.

  • LG G5

  • I had this phone now 4 month and it's great phone but i had one probleme in my hotspot i had maximum connection and it was fixed to one maximum connection and i can't change it please tell me what should i do ? And Thanx

  • It's a great phone... Not too many differences between the regular S5 and the Sport... Definitely like the alternate color options

  • Yes its support hotspot simple go to setting then connection then 3rd option HOTSPOT

  • I don't find any hotspot menu in my S5 sport, does it support sharing its mobile network as Wifi hotspot for other devices?

  • you are insane.. your going to file a lawsuit because your screen is shater.. it is your responsibility to take care of your phone,,, if your screen is shattered because of you why is that you will blame the company... i dont know why you people behave that way.. like kids... it is just a shame.. samsung nor the gorilla glass maker can take of your personal phone its you the owner!!!

  • That the truth i have had this phone since feb 6 2014. Yep came out in june lol but point is that i have replace this phone 3 times all due to shater screen getting ready to file law suit against gorilla and insurance is a joke in usa always ur fault. My first screen scattered cause my fingers was to warm it was cold like 13 out but really i need a warmer for the phone glass that crazzy

  • I've had the s5 sport for over a year now, and I love it! Even with heavy use there have been no problems at all. I have three different style cases, from Amazon, just be sure to add sport in the search, and read results carefully. The camera is great, rivaling my expensive prosumer model, especially in low light. It's been dropped a few time, had liquid spilled on it twice, and works and looks like new. I reboot it once a week or so, and maintain it well, and fully expect to get a few more years use from it.

  • S5 sport is great. I have had it for a while. I f you hate your phone, install cyanogenmod, and install chainfire autoroot. Hoope this helps. ;)

  • I had to teturn my Samsung Galaxy S3 for repairs five times during the warranty period. I recently purchased a Samsung Galaxy S5 but after three weeks the screen turned completely black. After much effort from my side the local store in Bloemfontein eventually indicated their willingness to replace the phone with an equivalent as the S5 has been discontinued. I am without a phone for more than three weeks now and still waiting for their decision on what would be an equivalent. What do you think would be an equivalent?

  • American phones are too fragile. Gets broken even after being purchased after a week. They should, these are not phones but cheap versions and copies of original products, refurbished and crappy devices.

  • Since acquiring our 1st cell phones in the late '90s, we`` have only used Samsung. We've never needed to replace our phones or have them repaired. This 25+ year trend will end when we purchase our next phones even if we have to switch to an iPhone (shiver). Recently, my husband, daughter and I all upgraded from either an s3 or s4 to the s5 Sport within the same week. It is my understanding that the sport is exclusive to Sprint. Anyway, within a few days all phones had protective cases on them and were working great. One day, less than 1 1/2 - 2 months after purchase, my husband heard a notification alert. It took him a minute or so to check it. When he did, an error message saying that the phone was overheating and should be shut down was displayed. As he went to do it, the phone shut down. Less than 5 minutes had passed between notification and automatic shut down. He removed the phone from the case and let it cool for a couple of hours before trying to restart. He checked the water damage indicator spot on the battery, just in case, and it was totally white. Then he tried turning it on and it would not work. He tried plugging it in and then, using a different working battery. His battery didn't work in other phones either. He could not remember anytime he had dropped, sat on, or done something that could possibly damage. We called Samsung, explained what happened, and they said to mail it in. Several days later, customer service called and said that the screen was cracked, which was considered physical damage/abuse and not covered by warranty. My husband told the lady that the screen was not cracked when he boxed it up and mailed it. She said that he wouldn't have seen the crack because it was on the "internal screen", making it sound as if there were two screens (not sure if there is). Once he began asking questions, she reviewed the denial and said she was sending it back to the technicians for further review. Several days after that, he gets another call reiterating the crack in the "internal screen" and now, water/liquid damage that caused corrosion and the electrical components of the phone to fry. Oh and FYI, we went to the Sprint store when all this happened and found out that Sprint isn't even selling their exclusive s5 Sport anymore. Wonder why? This whole situation has me stumped. If you can provide me with any answers, I'd appreciate it. 1) The phone is supposedly made for the active person and with Gorilla Glass which should provide at least a little more protection. So, how can one apply enough pressure to crack an internal glass without so much as scratching the external glass? 2) If a customer can't see this screen like they can see the external screen, plastic case, etc, how are they supposed to know whether or not it already has a crack when they purchased it? And if a problem occurs so quickly after purchase and the phone is otherwise still in like new condition with no scratches, dents, etc, how can they say it is customers fault? 3) As for water/liquid damage, remember that the water damage indicator on the battery was completely white and that Samsung heavily promotes the fact this phone is water resistant with an IP rating of IP67, yet the warranty does not cover any water/liquid damage. If water did get in, wouldn't it have had to go through the tightly fitting phone case or non-cracked exterior screen first, then to the compromised, cracked, internal screen to get to the electronics? So if the internal screen hadn't mysteriously broken without any other sign of trauma or abuse, the phone had chance of surviving? 4) To the best of my knowledge my husband has never been given a visual of this mysterious crack. I'm pretty sure they take pictures of their findings for documentation purposes but I don't think they provided copies of them with the denial letters. Can we get copies of these if they were taken? Searching the internet, I have found many other with the same or very similar problems, even with the new Galaxy s6. Beware, especially with all the lease plans floating around.

  • Its an American carrier

  • let me just tell you something and take it seriously ! After S5 released the original s5 It was expensive for poor people, they Modified it by removing its all special features(indeed you know them)and created this Kids toy and called it s5 sport to encourage poors buy it. if i'm wrong please correct that for me.

  • What is sprint network ?? What's the meaning of sprint network

  • I've had this phone for a few months now. It works pretty well. Sometime is messes up, but not to the point where it needs to be switched in. I've dropped it quite a bit standing and sitting. it has scratches on the outside, but no cracked screen luckily which is great. However, it is stupidly difficult to find a case for this phone ! ! Especially waterproof phone cases. It seems that every time I search for phone cases for it only the S5 pops up and like 5 S5 Sports cases in between..

  • I currently own this phone and have been using it for 8 months works great, camera works fine all of my buttons work when i need them too, and being a bmx rider and falling and having it slam on pavement a lot all i have is a tiny crack in the bottom right hand corner

  • Had this phone for 4 months and i hate it. I had the galaxy s2 n totally miss it. This phone does what it wants. Camera sucks n the side button works 50% of the time. Im looking into the s6 but will wait to read reviews this time.

  • I literally just got this from sprint and it has completely black screened on me twice. If I couldn't remove the battery I wouldn't have a phone right now. I haven't even had it a week and all I use it for is Facebook and texting . Seriously this phone is awful .

  • What do you expect with a substandard CDMA network

  • yep, micro usb charge and computer conx. motorola photon chargers work as does the sprint car charger. Very happy with interface to my Mac. many bargain accs on line.

  • This smart phone is jst waaoO....nothing to say about!

  • I love the Galaxy phones. I have recently switched to the S5 Sport from the S3 and I am unable to talk and use data. No try to Bluetooth and use browse the web. ITs NOT HAPPENING! That is a deal breaker and I will be taking my phone back. I am so upset and confused as to why I could on the S3 and not the S5.

  • Its very gud phone

  • these galaxy phones are so much better than iPhones its just sickwhy would you even buy a phone that's not water proof my wife and all her family have iPhones and iPads leave these things are so much better its not even funny

  • very good phone guys.....

  • I think its the other way around.

  • I have recently purchased this phone and it is excellent. I disagree that the 3 buttons make the screen weak. This phone is very strong compared to the regular galaxy s5 and I would not hesitate to purchase this phone.

  • Don't buy it. USB will work but it is a poor design. The three buttons protruding through the glass make the screen very weak and there is no replacement glass just yet.

  • Yes

  • am about ready to buy Sport, but wondering if I can use my original Galaxy S mini-usb connection car/wall charger with it ? Am sure the external charger won't work as the battery surely has changed ;) thanks!

  • You may wait until it comes the price around 23k - 27k, may be 2020.

  • Buy it its a good smartphone I'm using it is quick I love

  • samsung galaxy s5 is nice smartphone to any companies smartphone.

  • Sport edition without ant+!!!

  • this phone is the upgraded version of s4 active.the red color which i have looks richer.the speed is awesome ch in color and even the sound is crystal clear.battery stamina is fair good and even the display is rich in color.rating wise i would rate 8 out of 10.

  • is it masher?

  • u have to take it to a samsung resourse center

  • Search by you tube you will find the answer

  • I forgite my lock pin number how can I unlock my galaxy s5 19600

  • I wasn't using foul language.

  • veri nice fhone

  • Please no foul language, be polite and use common sense

  • That is hilarious and true!

  • What is wrong with you?!?! That means you can only use it on sprint networks in the us for crying out loud. You can use it in the us where I am, but nowhere else. Got it?

  • Exactly my point.

  • That's unnecessary. The human eye can't discern 375 ppi, so 576 ppi is gonna mess up the phone in general. All people today care about is how high the numbers can go, what about performance?

  • And this phone is unnecessary. They have a gs5 and a gs5 active already FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! Agreed.

  • If Sammy is gonna keep on waving names like these , we may soon expect to recevedevices named like GALAXY S5 Cabriolet , GALAXY S5 Coupe , GALAXY S5 TURBO , GALAXY S5 Diesel , GALAXY S5 Saloon , and so on .... F##q the Samsung NAMING COMITTEE !

  • nice phone

  • Oh it dsnt have fingr prnt scanner , i see :-|

  • colorful amd smart looking mobile.. makes sense for young generation.

  • Wake up, Jani!

  • Where can an unlocked s5 sport be bought?

  • Ohno PPI should greater than S5 LTE A which is 576

  • oooooo some

  • It has to be Unlocked first

  • I like the hardware keys, but why so big moma??

  • The F? An improved version of S4 Active I presume.

  • Lol.

  • It means it only runs on Sprint, a moblie carrier in the US.

  • Samsung Galaxy S5 Active vs. Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport. What news???. =( WAKE UP Samsung. ;/

  • amazing::::::::::::

  • this handset support only 4g Usim

  • What is meaning "for Sprint" i don't understand ?? Can we use it Europe ?

  • You missed the one that applies to the phone company that sent you here... the S5 made us green with jealousy model...oh and the ... S5 all our customers are now buying samsung model

  • It's Just Ewwwwwwww.......

  • 5,1 inches and sport??? Ok...

  • They made the kind-of-premiuim device (s5 active) first...And then they were like Heck No!!!! Back to plastics yo, Thats what we are known for...And U end up getting this phone..

  • Rugged candy. HOT!

  • All the samsung phones are short lifetime, they are easy to break screen

  • So nice

  • i hate smartphones when you finally take it you take photos and fb nothing more soo i dont like them mu xperia z become total shit after update home screen lags and the only diference before the perfect phone before is 4.2 updated to 4.4

  • So ugly the original S5 still looks good.

  • Next in line is. Samsung Galaxy S5 Muse (s5 in pink body), Galaxy S5 Swimmer (a waterproof up to 5 meters), Galaxy S5 Glass (well a plastic looking glass, not the real one), And Galaxy S5 Aluminum (dont get too exited, its still a plastic, look like aluminum though) well in short. Samsung is a plastic. A crap a trash. Hehehe

  • change back cover & change wallpapers here you got "new" phone! Samsung should fire that designers and whoone has ideas like that. LOL Samsung LOL.

  • What's happening with ya samsung.. AGhhhrrr
