Samsung Galaxy S II X T989D - User Reviews

  • Hey could you please explain to me how you did it ? (step y step)

  • Hey could you explain (step by step) how you did it ?

  • Couldn't find the android 7 in the link. could you please mention it again

  • Hey guys, I acquired this phone and followed this tutorial to NETWORK UNLOCK it for free: Then, installed CyanogenMod 13.1 (Android 6.0) on it. It runs extremely smoothly and everything is better than ever! Link to CM 13.1: There's also Android 7.1.1 available that works smoothly, too. Link: Good luck!

  • I have same version 4.1.2 but I want to upgrade it plz if you can upgrade it then tell me my gmail is [email protected]

  • I've been using this phone since september 2012. I did NOT upgrade the OS, it's using Android 4.0.4. I honestly have zero complaints about this phone, I like that it does not have the physical button on the front for dirt to get caught in. It has the 4 "touch" buttons. It's now August 2015 and I still have absolutely no reason to upgrade. I'm not going to lie but this is probably the best smartphone ever made, if there is such a thing. It's seen it's share of abuse, I use a thin "adrema" black rubber case and it still has the factory screen protector on it(yes it came with a factory screen protector, unlike new stuff) and this phone has seen it's share of abuse. It's an outright champ. Unless you're playing demanding new-age games on your phone, you don't need anything more to this day. That's my two cents and I never write reviews for anything. That's how much this phone rocks.

  • Overall a great phone you can buy inexpensively, unlock it, root it, install a custom recovery, and now it will run everything up to Android 5.0 and work on all GSM & 3G networks worldwide. For a dual core 1.5Ghz device, it really does move quite well.

  • Is this a different version of the S2

  • i like this smart phone

  • how to run that

  • yes, but either through Skype or Google Chat

  • had this for over 2 years now, always been a great phone, but has recently been a very problematic device. Running ICS 4.0.3, haven't been able to upgrade OS, in fact i haven't had a single OTA update since i got the phone and i have only ever been able to get Kies to work once (when i upgraded from Gingerbread). It has served me well these two years and has out performed any other phone i have ever had, put its time to put it away and embrace my Nexus 5.

  • Im running cm11 android 4.4.2 on mine and it is awesome!

  • works fine for me, have you upgraded the OS? I have jelly bean and works fine, I had issue with it when it still had ice cream sandwich, however that issue is gone after upgrade.

  • love this phone, I've had it for a year and no issues to date... this page is wrong or outdated, I have the Telus (Canada) version of this phone and I'm running Android 4.1.2 Jelly bean... so far very stable, I don't even think I'll upgrade yet until something I like comes out.

  • I am using this phone since February 2012 and I am in love with the perfection of this phone, everything works perfectly till date. Love the Decent shape and Camera, also the Battery life is better than usual S2 sets, never faced any fault or malfunction and i use it 80% for WIFI internet. the battery life is still pretty good and i am really a satisfied customer.

  • Does dis fone support video calling? can't find d video call option

  • I loved this phone! Everything worked great and the camera was awesome. Only flaw was the Bluetooth, to my knowledge, never worked... I only went to use it several months after I purchased the phone and the bluetooth wasn't working. it connected 2 or 3 times then stopped. My BF even changed the ROM in hopes it would help but it didn't... too bad. now im on the hunt for a new phone.

  • phone keeps going to emergency call, it was fine until lately, Sometimes have to resend text message. How can I boost signal to where it was

  • it has 4.1.2 as well now... and theres rumours that some of the s2 phones are getting 4.2.2 (this one was not mentioned). so for an android phone this one had the most major updates of any to date, from gingerbread to ice cream sandwich to jelly bean

  • Yes

  • link not working, and how do i use odin?

  • use odin and flash the rom from here:

  • how to update?...KIES are not working...PLEASE HELP!

  • This phone now has Jelly Bean! Update through Kies or ODIN.

  • i need som enterduce for it

  • Is the screen made of Gorilla Glass?

  • Yes, it is the same. I have a Koodo version and bought a T-Mobile case. It fits perfectly.

  • Please if someone can help me Does this phone has the same dimentions like the one used by T-Mobile I am buying a case that fits Samsung Galaxy SII that fits the T-Mobile one and I have the phone from Telus are they both the same? [email protected]

  • It could be your apn settings, I lost all mobile data after flashing AOKP 4.2.2 This page might help you out

  • verygoodphone.but my galaxy s2xt989d wont conect to koodo network andicannot access my google account

  • International edition in some countries already updated to Jelly Bean. This version will get jelly bean update in the coming weeks depending on your carrier.

  • my samsung galaxy sgh t989d wont conect to the koodo network and i cant access my google account on there can someone help me out plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • pls can i upgrade to jelly bean? and does it have the corning gorrila glass? thanks

  • Great phone. I went from an HTC one x+ a truly great phone to this one and I can hardly tell. The price is unbeatable.

  • hey dude simply press home key and lock key at same time . if it done then plz email me at [email protected]

  • Vol+ and power button didn't work for me on T989D.

  • I could not find how to do a screen shot prior to ICS 4.0, but for all their models with touch screen buttons (no physical home button). Press volume down + power button to make a screen shot. Works like a charm on my phone... now I learned something new on my phone.

  • That is only if you overcharged the battery even once, it not only kills the life of the battery, it drastically shortens the 1850 mAh rating from stock to lower each time you overcharge the battery. I wish it had overcharge protection. Using the included charger (1A) it takes less than 3 hours to charge a dead battery with the power off, and almost 4hrs with the phone on. Using a lower mW charger you can extend battery life. I use a 700mW charger, or you can use the USB connection cable to the computer for an even slower charge (500mW).

  • SII X does not have a physical home button so holding power and 'home' button doesn't capture anything like it would on the SII. What it actually does on the SII X model is bring up the task manager.

  • Hi Nikhi, If it's like the Nexus One, You might have to reset your phone to factory default, by accessing the menu item under the Privacy sub-menu of the settings. Regards, Michel

  • Great phone. Pros: -good battery life -snappy performance -beautiful screen -quality -beautiful design -good camera Cons: -fairly big -not a very high resolution screen -needs a bit more ram (mine has 768Mb) -touch buttons need a brightness toggle -sound is not great stock (sound is significantly better with beats drivers) -not the fastest processor or graphics

  • its, nice ,but how could i change gmail ID,is it locked to one gmal ID for ever or can we chage that.

  • yep

  • 4.1 (Jelly Beam) update for T989D will come late December.

  • not yet

  • don´t have gorilla grass

  • this phone does't hv Corning Gorilla Glass? not mention at GSM ARENA???? any one tell me if hv?

  • Have had this phone for a month now, its fantastic. Good quality photos, big screen and fast. Would be nice if the screen was higher resolution but still really good for $300

  • Will this phone get a Jelly Bean update?

  • use Kies......

  • It's 1850, it lasts quite a while for a phone with such a powerful processor and large, bright screen.

  • Please, how do I check for ICS update on my Galaxy SII T989D

  • but this particular model does not have a physical home button...

  • sounds good but whats the battery like? is it 1850mah or 1650?

  • Hold power and the Home button. A snapshot should appear, and it'll be put in the gallery under screenshots

  • Can anyone help me? I wanna know how to capture a screenshot on this phone galaxy SII X T989D With android 4.0.4 thank you.

  • Hi I'm experiencing a problem on my samsung S2 mtn say it is taking my money through internet but I,m not logging on that server not sure what to do

  • when the ICS will be available officially for this phone. It was mentioned that it will be ready on 12 June. today is 21 June!!!

  • its going to hang when i nplay any HD game in this phone. its good but not to good

  • It's a great phone, super fast, android, 4G, WiFi hotspot, and many other things...If you're having a problem with the battery you don't know enough about electronics to have a phone. This phone is better then the iPhone 4S. 3.5 touch screen is way to small for a phone.

  • very nice...i like it.

  • nice one, wanna buy it for my son....

  • It's not LTE don't be a retard. The LTE version is the Samsung Galaxy S II LTE i727R.

  • i have read batween this and the galaxy s2 i9100 the one i have this dont have garila glass the battery is smaller also this has 4 bottons mine has 3 i guess some people rather pay more get less but its always that way in canada thats way its batter it buy the europen version for the galaxy then canadian

  • It is LTE I use it unlocked with Rogers and have full LTE speeds and network.

  • Sold my iPhone to get this and I am not disappointed. I love Android, been an avid fan since the start. And this device doesn't not fail to impress. Super fast, great battery life, huge screen, bit of a learning curve with the Swype keyboard buy all in all an amazing device.

  • My battery last all day from heavy use, are you remembering too use the task killer? If you have a ton if apps running at all times yes the battery will die fast. Either that or you have a bad battery.

  • For people who does not know. This one has dual channel HSDPA capable of faster 3G up to 42mbps

  • love this phone, just wondering as it is advertised as a 4G device which band does it support on 4G and why its not mentioned on GSMARENA?

  • If the Samsung change the look, they gonna sue by Apple :)

  • is this available in Mumbai, India. I believe only Samsung Galaxy SII basic is available here. Also i always wonder, why do all samsung phones look the same!!! rite frm a 3000 rs phone to a 34000 rs samsung note, all have the same boring shape!!!

  • ppi is pixels per inch.

  • What is a PPI?

  • not good battery run out so fast in couple hours. not recommanded.

  • Is Qualcomm not good?

  • this is a new phone that telus sells but its a point less phone here's why : low PPI, no LTE, running with a qualcomm CPU, 4 capacitive buttons
