I have had this phone for 2 years now. its an awsum phone but the flex cable gives up pretty easily. i have changed it 5 times already. this is one reason why the phone freezes. apart from this problem there is none to mention.

Im going to buy this phone.. But i dont know whether it is good or bad. I read the written features & i think it may be good.. I like sliding phones and im a second user of a sliding phone. My first sliding phone was a sony ericsson. That phone had a very poor battery pack up. So i used it only for 2 weeks. I have heard that sliding phone will become complaint soon. Rough use of the sliding functions make it complaint fast.. Anyway i decided to buy this phone. But i have no sure about the battery pack up of samsung mobiles also. Nokia is good and perfect..

I bought it for my wife and for her daily use, this is a SUPERB phone. Few questions, though: 1. The phone seems has ONLY ONE full game and countless (5-6) demos. How can we (she) get the rest original (full) games? She wants the Tetris, the Pacman and a couple more. 2. Extra utilities/progs for Shark 2? 3. ANY FORUM/community for the Shark 2? I've had this phone almost a year now (since it came out) and i like it very much. it does, however, spontaneously turn off (but it turns right back on again! so no problem!) and can be a bit slow at first. but its a good phone and i wud buy it again. (determined not to get one of those touch screen 1s) and the deleting recent recipients thing- no, unfortunately u cant, unlike other samsung phones. but u can password ur messages if thats y u wud want to

I've had this phone now for over 8 months. I see this comments and I think either they're lying or my phone samsung shark 2 is a special phone. IT HAS NEVER TURNED OFF SPONTANEOUSELY!! Great phone and the camera is perfect - i love it although it does have some really really small bad things. In conclusion if you want to buy it - DO IT! ;)

Now, after one week of usage, I must say it fulfits nearly everything I awaited from it. Annoying only was the limited organizer function - not more than a hundred of reminders is too few to me. ;) But let me say, this phone is a quite good addition to my Sam Tab! B) The earphones are not worth a mention - poor. But I favour BT stereo headphones which are supported pretty well. Also the two cams and the AMOLED display is worth a mention, and don´t forget the today pricing. Very good phone to me, after one week still shows full battery capacity! :o

I have 2 of S5550. It is a nice phone in general however, does not roam to some operators. Doesn't work properly with some sim cards. SMS center doesn't work and own number is blank. Hardware bug? How can I update the phone? Does anybody know?

for the camera problem you must update the phone. for the sms storage. all samsung also s5550 doesn't have unlimited sms storage

Recently got hold of the S5550 phone. I must say, its a pretty neat phone and has good functionality available. However, picked up that the Camera tends to reset the phone. I don't know if its a bug in the camera app or the device itself? Its quite annoying, needs a settings reset to fix, on occations.

just bought my first slide. w/in the 1st week i had to change the earphones since the right side was deaf. came a week later the earphones cuold not be detected by the phone but after 3 days resolved itself.. aon my third week of use it went lopy. hanged out on me and the keys function, out. cuold not use my phone as new as 3 weeks old.., dont ever buy this for those planning. this is an advice coming from a person who researched on the phone for 6 weeks before buying.,. i am so disgusted with the quality of the phone unlike my first sam,..,., the damn this phone., dont ever buy it,., for your own sake.,,..,

no, im very sorry i couldnt find it eather. But it might take you a while to do this but you can also slide it down and then unlock it and go to your phone book and use the persons number to call him/her. but i cant help you if your taking a call

I just bought this phone and it is a great phone with great features.Perfect pictures and the thing they say about bluetooth,internet connection and turning off spontaneously are rubbish - not true. I hope I gave you a little help :)

Phone has promise but it needs a URGENT software fix. 1. Bluetooth inconsistencies 2. USB connection to Samsung PC Studio fails 3. Samsung PC Studio application fails to update itself on the PC such that one can't even begin to look for a software fix for the S5550. 4. Phone randomly restarts or shuts down completely. Samsung had better get a fix out ASAP.

Using it only for texting, some calls and capturing photos the battery lasts for more tha a week. Display is very nice.

I have this phone for a month already and am satisfied so far. Contrary to some reviews, call quality is good on my end and the person I'm talking to has no complaints either. Nice that it allows reading from one message to another without needing to exit from previous message. Nice back-up camera which produces same quality as my 5mp Nikon point and shoot. Software is stable as it is simple.

Try adjusting the backlight duration (locks at the same time the backlight turns off). Go to Settings>Display and Light>Backlight Time Hope this helps.

I've been using the Chester for over a week now and very pleased to say its and awesome phone, Has really nice themes, crystal clear sound, Find music, Awesome instant messaging tool (Palringo). Check it out on www.parlringo.com. Nice short cuts to your facebook, myspace, twitter and so on. 5mp camera which is amazingly clear. Another feature I love about the Chester has to go to it style with regards to the design of the silver backing, it look freaken awesome. I promise you, you cant go wrong with this phone, Oh and lets not forget about the amazing colour on this phone its out of this world(Amoled).

i've been using the SGH F400 for about 2 years now and really happy with the music capabilities and also 3.2MP camera. I'm not really sure whats the actual reason, but samsung has the best camera out of many other brands I have used over the years. Even though they might have the same spec, say 3 megapix, it still produces different results. my F400 has crisp definitions, good light balance, and actual color reproductions. it just needs some tweaking on photoshop and its ready for facebook or printing. i no longer actually take a real camera on holiday these days. i dont even own an mp3 player anymore, i just take my phone. its for the same reasons that im considering to get this phone. im not really into touch-screen phones, prefer actual buttons, and old skool phones like sliding or folding, are actually lighter and smaller by much! and if you're a traveller like me, walking around with an iphone isn't the best or smartest thing to do, lots of crooks around. the only downfall is that it doesnt have a 3.5mm jack. using the propriety jack, even if it has a 3.5mm jack adaptor, just seems a bit off to me. if it has a 3.5mm this would actually be a sweet phone. i'm still considering, but i'm looking forward to the 5mp camera, man.

What is different in Sliding Samsung? Only camera different? For Samsung S5550, it is good in look. But I think, it will be more interest, if there is a noise reduction system. Samsung has a Voice Clarity but not sure how is practical. Whatis Crystal Talk of Motorola? Is it better than any noise reduction of any phone?

Seriously, what's the difference between S5550 and G600, besides the 3G? Could't Samsung just add a 3G antenna to the G600 and remain its design? The G600 is by far more beautiful, qualitative and durable phone, and i'm sorry that it is going out of production and being replaced with dull cheap-quality plastic phones like these ones. Such a shame!

The softkeys and the call buttons are they touch sensitive like the Samsung U600 because they are really really annoying I used to have a U600 and if you unlocked it to play some music or watch a vid and you accidentally touched the softkeys - you'd suddenly be phoning someone you didn't want to. :(

Well i dont think this fone is aimed at the highest level. This must be for the mid-range level, which in that case is good enough. How could you possibly tell that the specs are all wrong, even gsmarena team clearly expressed that the specs are unofficial. Unless you're working for samsung as a design engineer, there's no way for you to be so smart enough to tell you're 100% sure gsmarena is wrong with their info.. Sheeshh

Copy the picture with the phone to any image editor, increase vertical size to 150% while keeping horizontal size at 100% (they're locked by default, so unlock them). This is what the phone should look like with posted specs. IMO its height is around 96-99mm. Budget-minded phone with small AMOLED screen. Nothing interesting.

Guys, I'm 100% sure that the mentioned specs are all wrong. It just cant be 137 mm high and 15,5 mm thickness with 2.2' screen. Besides that, there is no WLAN, just 960 mAh battery, 5 Mp camera. It looks like a basic phone with limited functionality and there is no reason to put on AMOLED display. In fact specs are very similar with ones for Nokia 6600i Slide, but Nokia is much more compact device. Just compare:
