vivo NEX S - User Reviews

  • I have received Android Pie long before on my Vivo NEX (Vivo NEX S in China). Last week received another OTA software update that enabled a key feature I was looking for long time. The OTA update was of 169 MB size, with following new added features: 1) Addition of Super Night mode in camera app. I took some pics after this update in night and all photos at night mode came out very good with drastically reduced noise & more brightness. Very happy with this new cool new feature in camera app. 2) Updated Oct, 2019 android security patch. All in all this update was worth it for the Super Night mode inclusion which definitely gives a boost in terms of low light photography. After the software upgrade: Android Version: 9 Android security patch level: 01-Oct-2019 Vivo ROM: Funtouch OS_9 Software Version: PD1805F_EX_A_6.8.6 Compile time: 26-Oct-2019

  • Simply blown away with amazingly fast charging speeds my Vivo NEX (NEX S in China) was able to achieve with the supplied 22.5 watts wall charger sporting Vivo's propriety FlashCharge tech. Today I performed the battery charging test of my Vivo NEX and below are the results: Wall Charger Standards: Vivo FlashCharge Wall Charger Rating: 5V/2A = 10 watts 9V/2A = 18 watts 10V/2.25A = 22.5 watts USB: 2.0, Type-C 1.0 reversible connector Phone powered off: NO Battery (Typical Capacity) -> 4,000 mAh 0 to 25% -> 1000 mAh -> 12 mins 0 to 30% -> 1200 mAh -> 15 mins 0 to 50% -> 2000 mAh -> 25 mins 0 to 57% -> 2280 mAh -> 30 mins 0 to 75% -> 3000 mAh -> 41 mins 0 to 80% -> 3200 mAh -> 45 mins 0 to 90% -> 3600 mAh -> 60 mins -> 1 hr 0 to 95% -> 3800 mAh -> 73 mins -> 1 hr 13 mins 0 to 98% -> 3920 mAh -> 90 mins -> 1 hr 30 mins 0 to 100% -> 4000 mAh -> 94 mins -> 1 hr 34 mins The charging speeds of Vivo NEX beats any smartphone that comes with Qualcomm QC3.0 hands down. The charging speeds from 0% to 90% are just insane and takes just 1 hour. From 90% to 100% the phone start doing trickle charge to save the battery, slowing down charging speeds drastically. Vivo NEX also beats my long standing battery charging speed champ, the Honor View 10 with its 18 watts wall charger having propriety Huawei Quick Charge tech.

  • Correct. I have checked and DRM Info app revealed Vivo NEX to support only widewine L3, which translates to no HD streaming content over Netflix or Amazon Prime videos. Chinese manufacturers have a tendency to skip global certifications as they are accustomed to do so in China. It was when the Poco F1 widewine L3 fiasco became a media cry all Chinese manufacturers sat up at took notice. Later on all their high end phones started supporting widewine L1 at hardware level. Same goes for microUSB to USB Type-C port transition in recent smartphones. That said I have seen reviews where many Chinese phone manufacturers having added L1 support at hardware level was still not able to play HD content on online streaming apps like Netflix. It remains to be seen whether the hardware level support is enough or the manufacturers all need to register their phones to the online streaming app services so that the streaming app can recognize the phone, trust it and then play in HD resolution. On the positive side while running the DRM Info app, I found Vivo NEX display has full HDR support as well as support for 100% PCI wide color gamut. The NEX display seems to be of very high quality and eclipses my LG V30+ is every aspect except for V30+ quad HD resolution as NEX is limited to FullHD.

  • It did not support wide l1 support to streem high quality videos poco is having thatKranthi

  • As shared on my previous post, I purchased the Vivo NEX (better known as Vivo NEX S in China) during factory clearance sale and hence as expected came with Android Oreo with pretty old Mar, 2019 android security patch. In India we only get the 8 GB RAM & 128 GB ROM version and below was the software version on first boot: Android Version: 8.1.0 Android security patch level: 01-Mar-2019 Vivo ROM: Funtouch OS_4.0 Software Version: PD1805F_EX_A_1.10.1 Compile time: 27-Mar-2019 --- On selecting software update from phone settings received a hefty 3.27 GB OTA upgrade with following new features: 1) Android 9 2) New Funtouch UI 3) System wide Dark Mode. 4) Game Box 5) Shortcut Center 6) Ability to tweak settings of system apps --- After the software upgrade: Android Version: 9 Android security patch level: 01-Aug-2019 Vivo ROM: Funtouch OS_9 Software Version: PD1805F_EX_A_6.8.3 Compile time: 29-Aug-2019 -- The good news is Vivo NEX being a true flagship will receive Android Q globally as its beta version is already available for the Chinese ROMs.

  • I was in hunt for the Vivo NEX (better known as Vivo NEX S in China) for almost an year now and ultimately the opportunity arrived during the this year's Diwali sale. The NEX was unveiled in India as on 19th Jul, 2018 and I was patently waiting for the factory clearance sale from Vivo which arrived as on 12th Oct, 2019 and I immediately grabbed the phone. I bought the NEX at INR 22,674 ($319) which is a hefty 50% discount of the initial online launch price at INR 45,000 ($633). Offline the phone was selling as high as INR 48,000 ($675), hence if you consider the offline price I received 53% discount. Amazingly just six days after I ordered online the NEX went out of stock on Vivo official store which is exactly 1 year, 3 months from unveiling in India. Last date of availability was 18th Oct, 2019 with unit price of INR 25K on the official store with no offers applied. Now few sellers on Amazon India have the old stock and are selling them at very high price of nearly INR 30K. I was able to get 50% discount on NEX at online PayTm Mall as an Vivo authorized seller was selling them at INR 26,499 for stock clearance. During the Diwali sale, PayTM provided an instant 5% wallet cash back of INR 1,325 which reduced the price down to INR 25,174. Further an additional instant 10% discount of INR 2,500 was available on certain credit cards which even lowered the price to crazy INR 22,674 ($319). To have such an innovative & futuristic true flagship phone like Vivo NEX at such a low price was on itself an unbelievable experience. Coming back to the phone, this is no ordinary flagship with just bells and whistles. This is Vivo's first attempt to create a true flagship that is going head on with other flagships from long standing revered market established brands like Samsung S9+, LG V40 & Huawei Mate 20 Pro to name a few. To establish its name as a top tier smartphone manufacture Vivo has to go the deep into the innovative route with incredible attention to detail. The amount budget, engineering effort, built quality & over-engineering that went on designing the NEX was undoubtedly 3 to 4 times more than with any other Vivo phones. And I can assure the NEX is a true innovative flagship after using the phone for few weeks now. More on the phone later.

  • Will vivo nex ( 1805 ) get Android Q?

  • Hi there,i am about to buy Xiaomi Mi 9T pro but ever since Vivo nex s came out,i became a fan of it.Now in the tech side şts little behind.Do you still like it? I see that video recording is 30fps and not Snapdragon 855..how is the performace?

  • Android Q before the end of the year normally

  • So are we getting Androud Q update in future??

  • Received minor update for vivo nex india funtouch 6.7.1 (after pie update). Stability and power consumption related update.

  • have you received pie update for vivo nex, so far i have not received

  • Not received pie update till now..

  • Got Pie update first week of June. FunTouchOS also updated at that time. Both are really nice updates. This phone is awesome. New England, USA.

  • Got Android Pie. Vivo Version 6.6.10(3.24gb) .. Downloading..... I am from India.

  • I just received pie on my Vivo nex this morning. Its not too good and neither too disappointing. I guess Vivo is taking its sweet time to seed the update to all the phones. Just wait patiently and you should see the update notification one day. Cheers!!!

  • I am from Mumbai, India Not received pie update till now..

  • Waiting for Pie update....

  • No, not for me Android pie update, Waiting for... India

  • very happy received Android 9 update it very good comparing to 8 good work vivo

  • yes received update check

  • I got this phone a couple weeks ago. Absolutely amazing phone. The screen is crystal clear and the colors pop. The 8gb RAM make it amazingly zippy fast. The near-bezeless screen without a notch is definitely a head turner. The fast charging is extremely fast. Roughly 10% to 100% in a little over an hour. Battery management is also amazing. This phone will hold a charge, with 'average', semi-heavy use for much more than a day. I find myself charging it every-other day. Google Assistant in place of the Chinese Jovi works perfectly. The customization options are endless. Couldn't be happier with the phone. This will be the daily driver for quite some time. I'd definitely recommend this phone.

  • Has anyone got pie update in india!?

  • Hi, I have a vivo nex s and for some reason mobile data it's not working and I have only 3g. I'm on Lycamobile. The Apn it's correct, so I don't know the reason

  • Oppo Find X is most fragile smartphone of 2018. Galaxy Note 9 is best smartphone if 2018.

  • Yes, but no one can say when exactly.

  • Vivo NEX S is the 2nd best smartphone after Oppo Find X, among all 2018 phones. Period.

  • New version of Android pie will be available in V11pro also?

  • Pie update software

  • When pie update in nex s

  • Really

  • What is best APN on MetroPCS network?

  • How to fix voicemail notification? And text message notification?

  • This is a phone!!!

  • For every disaster happen on a phone, remember it got 1 year warranty. Yes, it is frustrating, but as you also get free repair, you should buy with confident.

  • By viewing the real phone, this phone actually is pretty big, it is like a 6 inch phone, but longer with all screen. There is however a visible chin at the bottom of the phone. It got the 3.5mm jack, but no card slot for Micro SD, much like Oneplus 6T, Mi8. It also don't has NFC. Overall build quality is premium, it is one of the two all screen phone without a notch. It is only suitable if you like big phone with very big screen, it's AMOLED screen is simply gorgeous. Choosing this phone is definitely showing something different from the crowd. At my region, it sold almost the same price as 128GB of Oneplus 6T and Samsung Galaxy Note 9, around USD 670 price point.

  • Clearly on review and at the official website, it is mentioned there is no Micro SD slot. You can see the review picture on the sim tray, there are only 2 sim slots, but no hybrid slot for Micro SD.

  • Oh my god.... I decided bought my own vivo nex tomorrow by my friend in France.... Now I'm afraid... What i must doing?

  • Hello everyone, My vivo nex s is since yesterday not reacting anymore. It shutdown after i unuse the flightmode. The screen freez for a moment and afterwards is goes black. The battery was more than 70% but still no reacting from the phone. I also tried to charge it but still everything is black. Nothing happen if i push the on/off button. Does anybody have the same problem or maybe a solution for that problem? Thank you!

  • no nfc for that price range? rubbish phone!!!

  • It has tempered glass, judging by scratch tests other people have done. So about the same as and iPhone, or any other tempered glass phone.

  • Go into the settings and enable camera pop-up for WhatsApp

  • The global version has all the bands for Tmob and ATT but to get wifi calling it needs to be approved by the carrier which it is not.

  • Please tell me Vivo nex S have screen protection? Like Gorilla glass 4 example.

  • It's been a long and a very painful journey. Some might know but I guess, many might don't know it yet.

  • Does anyone know if it can be used on T-Mobile USA any if features such as WiFi calling are supported?

  • Yes power amp is supported

  • You need to go into settings, permissions, WhatsApp then make sure the camera pop up permission is on

  • Hello! I am using vivo nex 1month ago Bettery performance is very true 2 days 🔋 Camera quality is better then other phones

  • In whatsapp pop up camera is not coming out in video calls so pls solve this problem soon

  • I see that the hifi dac/professional dsd mode has to be enabled separately for each app in the sound settings. I usually hear my music on poweramp. Does this show poweramp in the list to enable the dac on it?

  • Vivo Nex does not play Netflix & Amazon Prime Video in HD, it plays only SD, WHEN/HOW DOES VIVO PLAN TO FIX IT.??? It cant be done through OTA Update, needs physical recalberation of individual phones, Pocophone F1 & some others also fall in the same class

  • Mate, do you know the difference between an optical in - display fingerprint scanner and an ultrasonic one? Samsung's CEO said that they could've implemented it on the S8, but it would've been less secure, slower and it would fail most of the times. Just search on YouTube, Fingerprint scanner test where they test this phone vs other phones, and you will see that this loses. Samsung could've done it, cause they had patents for that since 2014,but then people would've complained about it and it would've been the same way, because people don't like that Samsung hasn't already done it. Just wait till S10 comes and you will see that their ultrasonic in - display fingerprint scanner is safer. And also, S10 Lite will have an optical in - display fingerprint, so in the future if you get your hands on any of the S10/S10+ variants please compare the In - Display fingerprint speed with the S10 Lite (or whatever it'll be called). Check on that Mate, and you will see that I'm not wrong.

  • How is the GPS? How is that camera mechanism handling moisture and dust? How is the phone handling slightly wet conditions like rain and some splashing since there is no IP certified and its known not to be waterproof. Apart from that i think this is the perfect phone! Just need to clarify these two things

  • Can u help me with the card slot?

  • JerryRigs is an absolute madlad... It's painful to watch seeing pricey phones being tortured

  • No doubt Vivo Nex and Oppo find x are good phones and true with futuristic design. But 1 point to note in Find X is that its motor has to life 2 camera (whole upper part) and its motor size is smaller than vivo. U can even cross check in JerryRig YouTube video. Also find X is way expensive and doesn't justify it's cost

  • Only a mad dog would put his phone through mental tortue

  • It's funny to read the comment on OPPO Find X, Vivo Nex S sister phone's fragility issue. Well, all phone break if it is dropped no matter how strong the phone structure is. The screen glass part and the back glass part are the most fragile part. So, that's means modern smartphone with glass build are certainly fragile. I don't think all people are too careless to their phone, but very unfortunate case can happen, depend on how unfortunate it is. My most unfortunate incident being dropping my phone on a hard road, and some car drive by and totally crash the smartphone under the car tires, even though the phone back is metal build. I decide to throw away that phone anyway, the SIM card and Micro SD card still survive despite several car smash. For those who really careless, and scared on fragility, then buy the most rugged phone, despite having lower spec at the same selling price. For others, flip case/cover/screen guard are the additional protection. And please, don't compare cheap phone with the expensive one. Want good photo smartphone, just buy the latest and most expensive one. Just want something that just works, cheap smartphone will do.I own a lot of China brand phone, entry level, midrange and high range one, all works without issue. However, there is bottom line for China brand, only buy from those big brand rather than minor brand such as Homtom, Doogee, Leagoo, Wiko, Elephone. Bottom line will be phone from Xiaomi.

  • please know the all details about the phone by clicking this button Complete Details of Vivo NEX

  • R u use ur phone to destroy the phone like wht jerry has done ...I don't think so bruhh even it don't use gorilla glass u will keep ur phone at your hand 2 avoid from fall right.. Am I right??...so it doesn't matter if Jerry show that oppo so fragile because He's paid by someone to do that.. I don't think if u buy new phone u will do like that

  • I think you don't know about Corning gorilla glass 5 which is the most recent and latest protection ever made... So you better find and know what is gorilla glass 5.

  • Forget about YouTube bent test or what else.. they are paid by someone. I think you don't know about gorilla glass 5.. Which is most recent and latest protection ever made so you better find about it.

  • oppo find x ? a great price and cant stand against the bend test? I prefer this one than of the oppo

  • That's where you're wrong. Find X's camera makes grass too greeny and fake. Second, their body is too fragile to hold against any pressure. Go check out jerry rigs everything on that.

  • Released for Rs44, 000 but with buy back offer and Rs4000 off, you can get it for around 30k to 35k Futuristic phone. It came with Tempered glass. Very nice

  • Define oppo find x. Find x got Gorilla glass 5 protection,,, excellent camera and other many more.. Much better then nex s.

  • Guys facing a hard time... Please suggest which one to pick between Huawei nova 3 and nex s. Both have excellent camera and flagship processor. Help me guys. I'm facing in dilemma. Thanks

  • So, this phone or oppo find x?

  • This phone launch at my country same as Oneplus 6 price. If really want some futuristic phone like no others, this is the one to get. It's 128GB version is still cheaper than Huawei P20 Pro and Samsung S9. Certainly from value point of view without comparing the price, this is still considered more affordable than other high end phone. Yes, only concern maybe is the camera quality, and software quality. But at least this is a huge brand, with local support available at some country.

  • Vivo nex is better than find x. Find x failed bend test.

  • Pls less 120mah frm actual battery capacity

  • "strong Corning gorilla glass protection" yeah right. This phone fails the bend test, badly.

  • Does anybody bought and checked the battery capacity? Recently I have purchased and checked the battery capacity in both Antutu benchmark and Ampere apps., it is showing as 3900 Mah. Dont know how to check the original capacity as we cannot open the back. Is it really 3900 or 4000. If it is 3900 then please help what can be done now.

  • Find X looks better. But it breaks. Literally. Watch the durability tests. Nex wins this one.

  • It seems you haven't watched the durability test of oppo find x, it failed miserably!! Vivo nex is miles a head in everything.

  • Oppo find x is much better then this nex x. You know why because oppo find x got advanced latest strong Corning gorilla glass protection. Super amazing both front rear camera. Beautiful design and other many more.

  • got my phone yesterday. Got it for Rs. 34400 only after getting Rs. 4000/- on my HDFC card and Rs. 6500 off on my Asus Zenfone Max (3 years old, bought for Rs. 8500). Must say, this is a steal in this price. This is a futuristic phone which is bound to get you head-turns unlike other flagships which are blatantly coping each other by having a notch. Screen is amazing, huge, brightly lit. Screen speakers work very well with sound casting. Noticed some heating in my unit. Feels big for my small hands but manageable. A bit heay than regular phones. Rear camera is better than 1+6, selfie camera is not great though.

  • great phone thew my apple iphone for this one

  • I booked this phone for 27.5k Last week. Here is how? 1st I exchanged my Oneplus 3 (2.3yrs old) for Rs:12,800/- and HDFC Rs:4000/- Plus amazon 500 discount. So i had to pay just Rs:27,700/-.

  • Thankz bro for the previous response can you tell me if the difference between op6 and vivo nex camera is great or small.

  • sound is clear and loud enough. Camera in 1+ is better. battery life is great

  • What about the sound casting tech is the sound clear of other person while on call . And is the photos of rear and selfie good enough like that of 1+ . And also what about low light camera shots.

  • yes it is quite good.

  • Camera is not at as good as vivo v9.photos are good in low light. it is a bit heavy but manageable. It has hifi music with headphones but not working with wynk app. But overall the phone is good after all the deals u are getting.

  • Can you tell me if selfie camera and rare camera is good as compared with other smartphone of same range like op6. If you cant compare it with op6 atlest tell if it takes good photos in low light in day to day situation. Also what about the audio quality through headphone and speaker. And any other problem that you faced in this phone through your usage

  • Hello Everyone, got my Nex S yesterday evening. The phone big and bulky it weighs 230 gms with case. But it is a headturner with all the features like S Amoled full screen, in screen fingerprint scanner, and it's selfie camera. It is fast with no lag. Camera is descent. Any questions?

  • How about the in display fingerprint scanner? Is it responsive enough?

  • I personally prefer this phone and i need phone min of 6.5 inches as am a mi Max user of both Max prime and Max 2. Battery should minimally be atleast 5k for me. I am waiting for some honest reviews to buy the phone.

  • So did anyone here had buyed the phone or just shouting pros and cons about the phone in air. Still waiting for an honest review from the users of this phone out there .

  • No NFC? Get out - this is just a fancy Oppo

  • Any user of this phone please review your opinion about camera gaming heating issue and other pros and cons about the phone. I need an unbiased review before buying this phone so please help.

  • HDFC Bank offer 4k off Exchange any old phone even for 3 year old mi phones they giving 7k off Then you can easily get in 31-32k Its really good deal just don't like their names vivo, oppo, lolo, popo etc

  • How you got for this price

  • Preordered 128 gigs model on Amazon India for Rs 32K, roughly $460 (deal!), keepin fingers crossed, ll update once reviewed

  • Hey. Different people need different stuff

  • Finally a phone for people who don't take a lot of selfies. Honestly I wouldn't mind phone with complete absence of selfie camera, but this is a good enough solution.

  • There are HUNDREDS of phones in that size bracket you want but very little choice for people like me who want a 6-7 inch phone. I want more phones this size!

  • Display should be 5 or 5.5 inch. Veri larg display leds to discomfort.

  • Same opinion!

  • Saw face detection available in spec? How it works???

  • Yeah! I never would call that a phone, anything over 150mm is too much.. Make it 145mm max and then we can talk!

  • All good but need display ppi atlist 400 above

  • IT IS! I just need it smaller. ;w;

  • On-screen fingerprint scanner is slower than hardware fingerprint scanner, a review from Gsmarena.

  • So then it's not your dream phone?

  • This is the phone of my dreams! I just need it in a smaller form factor, 5.4inches would do. With 2700 super optimised battery, and memory expansion *-*

  • 19-07-2018 release date from officials

  • I like the desgin fak notch.

  • Shame that this phone didn't came with a 1440p/2k screen. If it had such screen, I would have been the first one to buy it!

  • Hi, you can confirm if you have led notifications.

  • It's 19.3 : 9

  • No IP68 . Don't dunk it on water

  • The must annoying is no Face ID play store I can download it

  • 18:9 or 19:9

  • Bro u should known that playstore is not available on Chinese phones And for a company like vivo, it's already pretty impressive but u have to wait till it gets better

  • vivo net s hold on before you buy it i have it and pup up camera have abug and it.pup up as she like no.face id finger print slow sound on screen so so screen great price 950 usd for the s for.now i.regrat buying this SPECIALY is.a.chinese vertion no play store and.so.on good luck

  • i am now in China and i ve used nex s for a week now. it has solid battery life and fantastic camera (portray mode is not that good thou). i think it is a futuristic device with (nearly )no compromise. the earpiece is usable, definitely better than thst on xiaomi mix. Front facing camera suffers a bit in term of pixels, but i dont use it often anyway. the biggest problem abt this phone is the fingerprint scanner. i can sometimes get 90 or even 100 percent success rate, but sometimes it just refuse to work at all. very annoying. hope vivo solves this problem thru OTA updates, SOON!!

  • Nice hardware, crappy software. Hope LineageOS can be installed.

  • He wants to carry around his 'slippery when wet' video collection...

  • No official statement on Vivo yet. So, yeah you can only buy the notched Vivo X21UD.

  • Does someone know when it will be released and where i can buy it? Because on the official Vivo website there are no informations. Thx in advance

  • Sorry. I will not release it in the Philippines

  • When will this phone be released in the Philippines??? This phone is close to the future.

  • 60 pops a day? This isnt the Oppo Find X, so it wont have nearly 60 pops a day, unless you're a professional photographer.

  • give it 16:9 aspect ratio, LG's Quad DAC, get rid of chin and it is a perfect phone for me.

  • People like you need to get a life!!! You can never appreciate any innovation!!

  • Its can handle 136.98 pops per day if it was used 365 days before it broke over two years that is around 60.49 pops per day.

  • excellent brave effort, well done, viva vivo

  • Jesus Christ , they say the selfie camera is good for 50k pops , even if it's half that , how many selfies do you take ?! i use the front facing camera like 4 times a week at best ! Or do you plan to keep this phone for 10 years ?! then yes you should start wondering about moving mechanical parts .

  • KING

  • what is the screen to body ratio again? i thought it's 92%

  • dude it has a 128gb/256 gb storage, it's good for normal people so they don't have to buy some extra memory cards. And why would you want to add more memory in a 128gb/256 gb? For what purpose?

  • @voltaire9 Because moving mechanical parts wear and tear easily and for most people a pop-out section is dumber than the notch.

  • great move by VIVO! soon completely bezelless phones will launch.

  • This is exactly what I like, all smartphone design should and will probably will look like this. Now,tell me again WHY I need a dumb notch??No,seriously, why?

  • Phone looks good apart its too big for any pockets and thus unusable for many people Its like a half tablet or phablet. For a 6,59 inch screen it should have at least 5000 battery 4000 mAh is just not enough.

  • Yet another weird aspect ratio...who ever saw 19.3:9 coming?

  • This is a great phone and it will do well I am currently using the vivo x21 and loving it this phone how ever it will have been a good idea to use the sliding camera for a 360 vision camera now that will have need a killer phone imagin a pop up 360 camera ....

  • go ahead and buy. hahaha. u can try to buy a touch screen TV if that's what makes you happy.

  • What is the truth? Does this have mixro sd or not?

  • Despite one or two things which could be better, this is the first thing in a while that turns my head. I love flips and slides. A hidden front camera that appears when needed is great! Just what i have requested many times in various forums and it looks like someone heard me. Specs in paper are good too, so i am considering this as my next phone.

  • It's not about the storage size, it's about security, practicity and portability. A desktop PC without a CD/DVD drive is not ideal for many people.

  • Nex A and S are near perfect to the Apex that has a half screen sized underscreen fingerprint sensor :-) I have a Sony Xperia Z2 from 2014 so I'm looking forward to buy a Vivo phone. PS: those who are crying about "to big phone" and "no microSD card slot" go somewhere else and cry, it's big as any other phone and 128GB storage is enough for everyone (I mean any normal people)!

  • Nice phone is it water proof?

  • This would be my 1st choice if it have card slot , but too bad it just another good phone that remove good.thing that a dealbreaker

  • this is crazy! with notches and now this 6 inches more phones. not pocket friendly

  • This is the future that we've been looking for.

  • For those of you who are curious about the pop up camera and it being fragile, they tested this camera 50,000 times. IT should be pretty durable, Plus it has MFG so you really shouldnt worry.

  • Bold design 100 out of 100, and I rarely use a selfie camera so finally an option for me with provision but practically end to end display, the people who sceptic about it was expecting it from apple with the banner of new innovative approach with some heavy words in foundations........you go guys i love the path you choose, two thumbs up

  • If Apple invented this pop-up camera, it would've been the invention of the century, the new style to copy from. If some chinese phone did, it sucks. I like it, but i am afraid of it, it seems very fragile.

  • Mechanical camera? no good. Vulnerable to disfunction. No, TY Vivo.

  • As corny as this sounds, the future of phones really is here. People were dying for Apple or Samsung to implement a fingerprint scanner embedded into the screen for the last two years, yet none of them ever delivered. Now you have Vivo which actually did it! Also for those who are complaining about the pop up camera, do you not see the benefit? Now there is no annoying notch at the top because of this genius idea. Props to Vivo for actually innovating in this rather lackluster smartphone market that we have today.

  • On the specs of this phone is 6.59 inches, 107.3 cm2 (~86.0% screen-to-body ratio) and here ( ) it is 91.24% screen-to-body ratio which of them is correct?

  • It is around 91% screen to body ratio

  • Most important is OS upgrade!!!!

  • Only 6.6" screen? I don't want having a phone that i can put in a pocket, I want accept anything less than 10" this is way to small, i could hold it in one hand, who wants to hold their phone in one hand! I'll buy an android box with a sim card and connect it to my 50" TV and a few km of wire so i can talk to people on the go. I'm a 194cm tall guy and my hand is like a shovel, but having a phone bigger than 15cm is BS..... Huawei P10 is perfect sized, why not but a 5.7" screen on 14cm body... If i wanted a tablet, i'd buy a tablet.

  • Pop up camera?! Are you kidding me?!!!

  • This phone is a dream come true :)

  • "86% sceen-to-body ratio" i thought people said it was around 90 percent.

  • Another endorsement by Stephen Curry HAHAHAHAHA

  • The couture is here

  • This pop-up camera is perfect. I barely use it for video calling, and I use it to take selfies few times a year basically when on vacation with wife or something similar. So tucked away is the perfect position for me.

  • The pop-up screen is too much of a niche feature. I don't see it go mainstream. It's great to drive innovation as a temporary solution, but not a great long term one. I could eat my words though.

  • Its their 2nd/3rd gen sensor. Should be pretty functional.

  • Why add it?

  • So it's basically a Xiaomi Mi 8, but with a headphone jack, without a notch, and a much better battery. Too bad Vivo's implementation of Android is a bit clunky. No MicroSD card slot, but with high internal storage capacity I can live with that. Too bad that also means no dual SIM, a feature which is very useful.

  • No band 13 ?

  • its 91% according to mrwhostheboss on youtube

  • Why not add the IR port.

  • The screen to body ratio cannot be 86% considering the display size of the phone (6.6 inches). It should be much higher. It cannot be 1% more than Vivo's X21 which has much smaller screen and a cutout at the top as well.

  • Nice design by vivoy,

  • Well.. Apple gonna take that pop-up camera into consideration and after everyone will be talking about this awesome new Apple invention nobody will be able to live without..

  • "Phone of future" oh well theres not much interest toward this device. This indicates that People are not interested in allscreenphone, but what quality Phone could deliver.

  • Really good effort from Vivo, thumbs up for not following the notch trend and for the under screen fingerprint sensor. But I don't think this phone will sell a lot. We saw the market trends lately, a iPhone X look alike can sell better then smartphones with original designs. I remember Honor snap X or 7i had a flip camera similar to this one, Sony Xperia ZL had small bezels and camera in the chin back in the days, and who follow this trends? Only the designs and tech improvements created by Apple or Samsung are trendy. Big screens, big notches. The smartphones now look like panini style chopping boards.

  • This in 5" - perfect and instabuy. running 5,99" right now - neh, I need a smaller phone - but tempting still.

  • Should be a good phone but its too big. And fr that huge size it really should have 10 000 mAh battery or better.

  • To me blackshark from xiaomi is better cost half the price offers same specs.

  • Why you need to swim with your phone? Acidental water damage is for clumsy people all others wouldnt have that kind of problems.

  • it is not true either, because NEX S and NEX are exactly the same form. Although, manufacturers will report higher stb than the calculated one, because the calculated index is done differently, it is comparing area of the phone with area of the screen, while neglecting curvatures in the corners: i.e. if a phone is 150x70 it will assume it is rectangle, also the screen will be treated as rectangle, BUT screen and phone are curved a bit, that is accounted by the manufacturers, but not accounted by the stb calculation that uses do. So the stb index is very close to real world, but not exact, while manufacturers report higher index which is more accurate. Although, I don't care about the exact stb percentage, as there is no much benefit to have to substract curved corners off, because I still have to carry big phone in my pocked and it will take exactly the same space as if it was rectangular. That's why, the stb calculations did by GSMArena.com are much more "accurate" to me than the ones reported by the manufacturers. ALSO some manufacturers clearly LIE about stb index!

  • There's a mistake here...there is no way that the phone is 77mm wide with such thin side bezels. The screen itself is 70.7 mm wide and each side bezel is 1.7mm, meaning the phone should be about 74.1mm wide.

  • Still too much chin.

  • The screen finger print reader is really functional?

  • With that pop up camera, I think it would be very hard to water proof the unit

  • I have a theory, that there will be a OnePlus premium phone released in half a year. And it will be based on this phone... Hmm!?!?

  • It’d be awesome if it was QHD

  • The selfie camera, the fingerprint sensor, the speakers, everything is hidden under the display. I like it, mainly the camera cos it gives a security feeling, even if someone hacks the cam and no one can catch you watching porn

  • Not ''Hard'' but rather Expensive. The chin hides the screen hardware that controls and operates it. . Right now there's only one way available to hide it off the front and its using an O-LED panel (Which it's properties make it really flexible) and fold it back so it ends up being hidden behind the display. That's what Iphone did with the Iphone X. In conclusion, O-LED is way more expensive than regular LCD panels, so they prefer to leave a little bit of a chin at the bottom just to keep an ''affordable price''. That's why.

  • The review in GSM arena says so.

  • me like it aaaaaaaaaaaaaa lot ;)

  • Good design Vivo, i think this is the best vivo design and this is different from previous edition vivo for not plagiarizing the design of iPhone x with copychat notch, just the form of camera position is still a little similiar with iPhone x, but i think this is the best vivo product.

  • hope nfc is there! it must be there its a flagship from vivo!!!

  • Source???

  • Apart for the lack of the SD card slot, and little things here and there, this is really an excellent innovative phone! 100% absolutely well done and definitely keep it up to vivo!!! Truly a great job!!!

  • This phone is a killer on every aspect. Say what you want, this phone beats everyone off. Plus this is gonna get really popular when it gets announced on the world cup in Russia. Good job Vivo!

  • It does have a 91% Screen to body ratio.

  • Imagine all the advertising of this at the Football World Cup in Russia in a few days time as official Smartphone sponsor at the event. Exposure on an international level to 100's of millions of people. This could be huge for Vivo. Great job Vivo.

  • Imagine all the advertising of this at the Football World Cup in Russia in a few days time as official Smartphone sponsor at the event. Exposure on an international level to 100's of millions of people. This could be huge for Vivo. Great job Vivo.

  • There is card slot. Edit your phone specification menu.

  • Why not water proofing. My all hope gone 😭😭😭&#128557;😭😭

  • No NFC, no baromete?

  • Vivo well done , u got me am buying

  • @Yonef. That's not true. Vivo nex is 91.2% screen body ratio.

  • why is it so hard to remove the last bit of bottom bezels ?

  • didn't it have a 91% screen to body ratio?

  • When it is 7 inch screen even small basels are making a lot of area. It may look basel-less because it is HUGE, and if you measure basels it will probably be wider than most of the normal phones.

  • So sad it doesn't have waterproofing and SD card slot :( I'd buy this mainly for the selfie camera being hidden like that. Is it possible to unlock the bootloader and root this phone?

  • what's the hate for man? The size of the device is about that of any other 5.5.-6" device. Or you like watching YouTube and playing games on a 3.5" phones? Bigger screen=better UX, majority of the people will use their phones as primary device to consume media soon

  • This is nice. If other companies want to make Bezel-less Notchless phones, they can follow designs like Vivo or the Rear-Rotatable-Camera-Flap technology as shown in this video Afterall, we need variety in this market, otherwise, Vivo will charge this insane price for this insane phone!

  • Hell yeah band 20!

  • Great... Another 7" smartphone to overcompensate your small manhood or to cater a fat person's sausage fingers. ugh.

  • Not water proof 😔

  • It have 128gb and 256gb version. That is more than enough. Also, hope you know how to use usb otg. Repairment? Dont even dream of it. What phone expert do you entrust to fix this NEX phone with bezel less display and ud fingerprint sensor? They will charge you half of the phone price itself.

  • IR? i see a sensor on top of the phone but then can be the proximity/light sensor

  • NFC?

  • Brilliant in all aspects. really good. Just too big

  • Do you believe that? OK

  • That big and no dedicated memory card slot. I don't want my private files to be stolen during repairment.

  • That big and no dedicated memory card slot.

  • Only 86% screen to body ratio while the fingerprint sensor is on the display and the front camera is inside the phone ??? That's only 1.8% more than the S9+...

  • Maybe it's incorrect. But look at the iPhone X. All front facing non screen space is considered a bezel. That means the perimeter and especially the chin of the phone. Who knows, though. I'm no expert on this stuff.

  • When VIVO innovates OPPO follows, basically they're just the same company 😂

  • Interesting body if it is true, only might wait for smaller version of it... Too big for me. This beast with s9 dimension will be perfect for me. But yes, Me in particular is a fan of compact reliable heavily spec-ed phone (I ask too much, got it), I might not be the only one but I also might be a minority

  • with 256 gigs i dont think you need an micro sd

  • 86% screen to body ratio? Something is wrong.. either photo or calculation.

  • Maybe I'll buy this tablet

  • Impresive 😍

  • cool tablet

  • i think there will be amoled display not IPS, this is wrong.. bcs of fingerprint is under screen.. and also hope there will be nfc too..

  • That's a good tablet. I whish they do a phone with this design too.

  • 6.59??

  • WOW it is huge ! 162 x 77 x 8 mm (6.38 x 3.03 x 0.31 in)

  • OMG! Why no microSD card?!!
