No, osama, it wasn't useful. This site truncates links so they're useless. Anyway, you need at least 4.1 version of activesync, 4.0 doesn't work with later firmwares. Easy to find by googling. I am having a lot of trouble to get the unit to charge and also to switch it on, I have to push reset about 50 times before anything happens. Did I miss something in the instructions? Also, I am lucky if the battery lasts one whole day. Is this normal? I'm not using all that much, just as a phone mainly.

hi muhammad to recharge the backup bat all you have to do is to remove the main bat from the device and to connect it to the the charger. it will take about 12 hours but you will get your backup bat life back

I buy a second hand M600 with rom 230, all phone function and pda is ok. But the sound of ear phone and speaker is to low. But I ply MP3 with TCMP, adjusting equalizer can make the sound 3x louder but do not adjust 60hz & 170hz, let it keep low or 0db. Adjusting the volume of acoustic room betwen speaker and upper rear cover will incrase 20% mp3 sound level without adjusting equalizer (I make the acoustic volume 50% smaler with rubber ring). But compare with Treo 700P, my treo lost only 1 point "no wifi", else Treo 700P is faster and simpler never make me blow my head for to call and send sms, Document to Go is better then pocket word ad excel. But it ok M600 is Windoze.....reset buttom is importan part....

I bought this PDA for a reasonable price of 400 �, no complaint concerning the device speed running applications, the 400 MHz processor takes care of the job, now if you want to use it as a phone, forget it. Lot of noise heard from the other side, even buying a bluetooth headset will not take care of the job, eventually you will end up using a phone as a pda, so no point in considering the phone. Also if you are running a gps software and someone calls you, the system crashes so again don't consider this to use it as a phone.

I have had this phone for over a year, I bought it at the duty-free shop at the Dubai airport while I was drunk. They weren't impressed when I showed up at the airport. If I had been sober, I would probably not have bought it. I cannot get it to hook up to the internet, the battery dies way to quickly and you cannot hear anyone when making a phonecall..........plus it took me several weeks to figure out how to change it to english from arabic! Otherwise a brilliant piece if you like Bubble-Breaker. I would love to be able to get this thing working properly..........arrrgh!

I would say it's a nice phone if I can get the screen to work properly. Every time I try to enter something on the phone or make a call using touch pad, I have to align the screen first. I sent and email to tech support, but never heard back. I can't log onto ETEN's support site either. I spent US$560 for this phone, and I regret buying this. Speaking from my experience, you should think twice about buying an ETEN.

This is a very good phone, I've been using it for 1.5 yrs already, don't have much problems occurred. Stable than others PDA phone after couples of firmware updated. Only things want to add to this phone is HSDPA and a location for the phone strips. I won't change the phone unless I can have other better phone, ie. Goldfish X800

i got my eten six months ago. i am completely satified and recommends it to everyone who likes their gadget to have these capabilities; a phone with wireless capabilities, plays music, take pictures and videos, takes notes with word mobile and with voice recording, easily syncs with desktops, but most of all able to work with a lot of different programs like, nursing softwares and other great stuff. i won't trade it with a fancy cell phone and an ipod because it gives me a lot more. thanks and God bless!

I have an ETEN M600 for 3 months now. All in all I am pretty dissapointed with it. - serious alignment problems. As you know, the main interface of the phone is its touch-sensitive-display, and if it does not work right you cannot use the equipment. (I use ROM 225 version, but it had the same problem with previous versions) - below average quality of sound when used as telephone (both on bluetooth headset and on mic/speakers) - works only on open WLANs. If the network is passworded it looses the connection every 2 seconds. Advice: Try other manufacturers, this is dissapointing.

I've had my eten m600 for 3 months, I had to change it because: - the screen could not complete the initial alignment process after a hard reset. - most of its buttons started malfunctioning. - the system freezes up when receiving any sms!! - the whole plastic case started to be loose and fell apart. - The system takes so long time to reconnect to GSM network after getting disconnected. - call sound was so bad!!.

I have had M600 since Dec 2005 and I am very satisfied. It comes with ROM 170 then I update 171, now I have 225 updated yesterday! No problem. I have Navigon Mobile navigator 5 in M600 with Navibe Bluetooth GPS and Parrot Rhythm n' Blue car stereo with built-in bluetooth handsfree and all plays together very well. Best buy for me! Only minus is very poor camera

Last month usin 216 Rom my touchscreen started not aligning properly, I upgraded it to 230 worked for a week and now I can�t make it work at all!! Phone is useless!!! Anyone experienced the same? It is very fragile, my friend and me bought it last year, my friend M600 failed after 1 month, it took him 8 weeks to get it back. Mine failed 3 months ago, took also 8 weeks to repair. Very frustrated, it fails again. The screen mis-align all the time make it impossible to use. Do Not Buy This Phone!

I don't know what all these other people are talking about, other than with the exception of the touchscreen alignment going SLIGHTLY off, but this is an amazing phone. I've used it without fail, through 2 ROM upgrades for months, and the WiFi, reception, PDA features, and all the software I can install on it make this phone tops in my book.

Guys, i use the rom216 and audio patch, certainly everything sounds very soft, then I appliy the ril_patch thing and it work to better level but the other party is begin to complain some noise during our conversation. So.. a bit problem of whether to apply or not. Anyway anyone tried the ROM225? is it good?

I am currently using ROM215 and quite happy with it. Previously, I upgraded to ROM216+Audio Patch but the speaker volume became too soft making it impossible to hear in a slightly noisy environment. There is a latest ROM225 available now. However, I am following the simple rule that if it ain't broken, don't fix it.

The M600 is a very good device indeed and extremely responsive and stable. Having had it for 5 months, I've never encountered any significant problems. Battery life is more than acceptable, with my usage, I can comfortably get by with charging once in 2 days. ROM215 solves the battery issue previously present. There appears to be some quality issues with hardware judging by other user's experiences, although I believe that 3rd party software installation is the culprit in at least 80% of the time. Do your own research and read reviews, but take it from an actual real life user with no agenda, the M600 is brilliant!

For all Eten M600 user, I would not recommend using the ROM 216. Use the ROM 215 instead. The new ROM 216 reduced the speaker volume significantly making it impossible to listen to a conversation especially in a noisy environment. I have to reinstalled the ROM 215 after the ROM 216 upgrade. My phone works fine now. You can ignore the audio patch file as well.

Best PDA phone available in the market..Excellent features and performance. Helpful software bundled up by the makers too. Perfect balance between Hardware and Software. Speacker volume could be alittle louder though and camera quality needs improvement. Perfect as a PDA though. Try it for yourself!!

I absolutely agree with Ken, as I have exactly the same problem: screen alignment. OMG. awful. I have to re align it 3-4 times a day. It is annoying. Furthermore, it hangs everytime it receives 2 or more SMS at almost same time. It is a nice machine, but only nice. I regret buying this product. Sincerely.

I bought one a month a ago and only experienced reboot once. Vert happy with this PPC. Still using 175 ROM version (upgraded after the original ROM version came with the phone). If thing does not break, do not fix it. I still waiting for the ROM that fix the volume problem, then I will make my move. Good luck,

Its Perfect, Precise, Productive, Presentable, Pleasing, Pocket budget friendly, & most of all Pioneer in software & valuable utilities. After day & night comparison b/w M-600 & other pocket pcs, i have come to this decision: I don't LIKE ETEN, Instead I ADORE ETEN from the core of my heart. Although Texas Instrument processor is quite famous in other pocket pcs as compared to the Samsung processor in ETEN. But combination of an optimum CPU, EXCELLENT ETEN software utilities, & most of all a perfect balance b/w the hardware & included software. Thumbs up 4 ETEN! Keep on rocking.. Reading the Eten userboards, it sounds like all the problems described have been addressed with the free downloadable upgrades. Have you tried them??

Don't buy an ETEN M600 if you really need to use a convergent device. If you just want to brag about the screen and processor speed you'll probably like it, but it has too many problems to be of much actual use. Phone volume is too low to use in most environments (any outside of an anachoic chamber.) Even with the latest ROM upgrade, unit doesn't sync reliably and needs reset often. In addition, you have to tap entirely too hard to activate the screen and will eventually damage it. Mine has a problem with screen alignment -- you have to tap 1/4 inch off to the left during alignment if you are to ever exit this routine (on all OS versions.) Even using this alignment, where you click relative to a hit box in most software packages is random (sometimes left, sometimes above, and sometimes below.) Obviously my device is bad. However, I dare any of you to suggest where I can send it to get it fixed. The outfit I bought it from (SimonCells -- don't do business here and pass the word) only has a 14 day return policy, and it's been all of 60 days since I bought it. I've pleaded with them for help to the point where they won't even acknowledge emails. The company that manufactures the thing certainly doesn't care about you or me because they won't allow anyone but a distributor to access their support area on their website. I sent an email to the only part of their company that accepts emails a week or two ago and have gotten no response. So here I sit with a $600 piece of frustration and aggravation. Please do the right thing and boycott this company, spend your money with a company that supports their product, and please don't tell me how much you like it and how well it works. I know better. Most of the problems are common to everyone. Bottom line, when you get tired of bragging on its speed and actually want to use it without constantly rebooting or upgrading the operating system, or heaven forbid, if you ever need to send it somewhere for repair, you'll join those of us who would like to get our hands around the neck of the ETEN CEO.

oaay chaddo wm5 noo pan noo yawoo adi get windows2003 imate jam black,never gets stuck fast as ,no problems at all,windows 2005 they gotta do lot of work to fix problems in all these wm5 new devices. i am back to jam black with 128mb ram. and if anyone wants xda IIs with windows mobile 5 in it,i got one on ebay,thats excellent (no lag because of bigger 128mb ram,largest ram in wm5 so far) i would keep it but bit bigger for ma pocket as i need to fit somefin in ma pocket,jam black fits in.i am in aussie land check ma auction on ebay.cheers

eten m600 has chut ki bhut jaisa bluetooth. it gives you problem to connect handset, chodiyao. but also one more problem is that you cant hear nothing when speakerphone on bhosdina, i will not suggaste you all chutiyao to buy this chutya phone

Can hardly hear unless you put the phone right next to your ears Bluetooh + wil lnot connect with bluetooth headsets. low volume. unusable phone volue + very low. can hardl hear. ETEn support - abysmal. Manual - unintelligble and badly written. Not written by a native speaker

We just purchased this M600 which is great. Looking for the rom upgrade 171.Can anyone help with this?? Can't use the swiss site because we didn't buy the phone through them. Does anyone know if the OS needs upgrades also?? But the phone is a great size and once it's been *figured* out will serve us well.

Same. I've just bought a M600 I turn the phone off (flight mode) and when turning it on again, it has no service. The only way to have service again is hard reseting it deleting registry. I always loose my settings. Any advise?

Hi, Have just bought the Eten M600 and have managed to get the phone into the state "Phone is powered off" according to the symbols on the Start-up guide. So now the M600 is working as a PDA but not a phone. Please advise how to re-activate the phone. Also need the new software 171 patch and need to know how to instal it. Appreciate the support.

As you send you tried to use software made for WM2003! The problem you are describing is not specific to M600 but it is the case with all WM5.0 PPCs or mobile phone PPCs! So its not a problem of M600 but you can only blame M$ for it!

I replaced my O2 mini with this device and I am less than happy with the performance. It crashes too often and isn't backwards compatible with most of my windows mobile 2003 software. I would not recommend this device to anyone at this stage as I don't find it as reliable as my O2 mini.

It's very good and handsome . This is the prefect phone with Skype And PPC OS 5.0 . I think it's much better than Imate....... because imate have very poor CPU !!!!! Just buy it and think that is the best choice for PPC AND also PHONE....... thinking about it...!!!!

Have you aver tried the support you say? I was an ex-imate user and when they have no answer to your problem they just disconnect you! As for Jamin its another example of low processing power! HTC is a cheater! They bought thousands of cheap OMAP processors and look for victims like you to sell them. So if you dont like eten get the hell out of here! Who gives a f@@k for you and HTC? Even MSMOBILES is against HTC and most of the ex-HTC users I know they are looking for anything else than HTC models. So if you want you can enjoy watching around you while waiting you HTC to load the calendar!

imate k-jam is the slowest pda phone ever and its almost double the price of eten M600. Apart from the really awful k-jam the M600 is a winner in every benchmark against any other WM5.0 ppc mobile phone. imate just bought so many cheap OMAP processors and looking for suckers to buy them at double the price you can buy a win mobile phone with double the speed of the omap!

For those who suffers from phone freezing while accessing test messages, try deleting some of them to free up space. Apparently this would help as my friend had mentioned but I can't confirm.

I bought my eten M600 based on the rave reviews from this and other site. Let me share my experiences. I already noted a few problems. Speaker phone - volume is absymal. Can hardly hear. Bluetooth does not work and wont connect with my Jabra 250. If you are considering buying ETen , I would hold off a it till all these problems are resolved.

Hi, thanks to all that have answered my question re experience with the M600. I am quite convinced that this will be just the right PDA for me. I have already placed the order with an online-shop in Switzerland. However it seems that I have chosen the wrong "partner". The so fare communicated and multiple times not kept delivery times and promisses are not worth a penny. But at least I know that I would get a good cadget as soon as I get it - keep fingers crossed! OK, I've had my Eten for about 3 weeks, its firmware has been upgraded to 171 and I can honestly say it is a great little device, I have finally retired my HP IPAQ 5550 and combined my phone and my PDA onto this PDASmartphone (Yes it IS both) I had a Nokia 6600 and a Motorola MPX220 & MPX200, This is much better than all of them. It doesn't have a "hard" keypad but rather it is software driven onscreen, but this isn't a failing, it is faster than my IPAQ and more useable as a phone than my Motorolas and Nokia. This is an excellent device, anyone looking for a combination PDA and Phone/Smartphone, look no further, It's Microsoft OS is way better than the Symbian O/S (found on SonyEricsson P900 series in native UIQ form) and better than the Symbian based O/S found on the Nokia Communicators. Syncing with your PC/Outlook, Activesync - nuff said, plug it in and away you go! no muss, no fuss!!! Size wise, its smaller than the SE P900 series (just) way smaller than the Nokia Communicator. I have a Nokia 6230i for a business phone (Eten is for personal use) and sizewise the ETen is slightly longer, very slighty deeper and about 1cm wider, making it a very easy device to hold and use. and best of all Skype VOIP from the free corporate internet wifi points, heh heh heh, now I can talk all day for nothing!!!!!!!!! Only gripe, 802.11g wifi would have been nice, and the ability to swap out the built in voice command software for the microsoft version!! If you are looking for a PDASmartphone, this one will not disappoint!

My only question is how big is the actual phone because you couldn't really tell by the numbers posted. Is there anyone can post some pictures with the actual phone? Just got the E-Ten M600 here in Febuary 2006. For every hour i use it i just keep getting more and more pleased with my purchase. I updated to ROM version 171 immidiatly when i got it so i have not meet any of the problem i hear others have had, its working like a charm. It's fast and responsive. It's small and fits great in my pocket. The stylus have a great lenght when extended. The screen is bright, clear and crisp. It's the fastest internet functionality i have seen so far on a PDA Phone. When you buy yours remember to get an extra sync cabel, the charger doesent work with the device alone. Have a sync cabel for home and one for your workplace. I also have the I-mate Jasjar, the Jasjar seem very slow when compared to the E-Ten M600. Great PDA Phone, if you are looking for a good phone, WiFi and a fast PDA, i can give the E-Ten M600 my best recomdations. regards Morten

The best PDA Phone I've had so far. I hardly used my laptop now for simple e-mail viewing and attachment, or even surfing the internet. The processor is fast.. I don't know what version my ROM is, but it's been about a month since I bought it, I never have problem with phone being frozen. The only little glitch so far is battery consumption. If I'm not using wi-fi, the battery can last more than a day, but if I am - less than 10 hours. Overall performance FANTASTIC.

I am very interested in buying an Eten M600. However I am not quite sure yet and would need an information: I am currently using a Qtek 9090 but I am not happy for two reason: it freezes and needs to be rebooted at least once a day. And the worst thing: the telephone quality is quite bad, i.e. the one on the other side can hardly understand my, it is echoing and worse. I checked with my provider and he is stating that this is normal and common with this type of PDA. So - looking forward to receive an information from anyone of you. Cheers.

This unit is FANTASTIC. Do not be discouraged by people saying it freezes, etc. Once you update to ROM v.171 all the issues are resolved. The unit is a great size and the reception is perfect. I'll check back in a few weeks to let everyone know if I encounter any issues, but so far it rocks.

I originaly posted this for the Qtek 9100 but it would appear that this truly is a horrible OS. Maybe someday Microsoft will figure out that they are releasing a horrible product that gives the devices distributor a bad name. I dont mean to slander Microsotft but this is getting crazy. Take note that the Microsoft Windows mobile suite SUX real bad� I had the HP 6315 that ran version 3.0 and I had to reset the device 2-3 times a day because it would freeze, the OS platform that Microsoft uses is very unreliable. It sounds like this is a reoccurring issue with all devices. Don't use this device or any that runs the Windows Mobile suite unless you are willing to backup your data everyday and are ok with the fact that you could lose all your data at any given time. On multiple occasions I had my device crash (back to the original welcome screen- everything is gone on the phone) and had to reinstall all my software which takes 45minutes at least to put everything back on... beware when using Windows mobile.

Great phone, bad software. I used to have an HP 6315. I use t-mobile. All of the phone's features are good. Camera is great. Handles calls wells, switches between cell towers perfectly, and it's a fast PDA. However, Microsoft's new mobile 5.0 is terrible. It crashes constantly and fights with firewalls. I would avoid any Mobile 5.0 phone until it upgrades a few times. By the way, my only gripes about the phone itself are that the stylus comes out of the bottom (making it impossible to get when the phone is cradled), and it's still too heavy and too thick. The stylus is the best one I've used, however. Good luck.

New ROM would be released after Christmas. Fixes Bluetooth bugs and improved stability. Hopefully it doesn't disappoint. So anyone who want one should wait for the new version of OS. By the way, it is now going for RM2,300 only in Malaysia and with free gift. So make sure you bargain for it. I am still quite happy with the M600. Made hole through the pouch so that the ringer could heard loudly. Need info contact me.

Bought one on last week at Low Yat Plaza for RM 2,450 using credit card. Cheaper if paying by cash. Great to use but has some bugs. No software updates available so far for both the hardware and Windows Mobile 5.

There is a big shopping centre called Low Yat in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia which sells all the latest hi-tech gadgets. Last known price for it was RM2,450 plus some free gifts but you can try to bargain for more. Received indications from the local distributor that it won't be supported soon nor will it be part of their future product range. Not sure who will take over the distribution for it.

I was actually justifying my purchase of the xda exec...cost twice as much and underperforms...wtf. And it's huge as hell (exec)... M600 has so many software tweaks, lots of details, makes me envy...this actually has what makes a device different than others. not as much how it looks but what it can do... But wtf is with the keys not being backlit ?? Infrared can kiss my a$$.

Won't be surprised if it sells more than the others since it is the cheapest around with the most value-for-money features included.

True Saeed, but for its target audience, it has pretty much everything you could need. Quad-band, SD/SDIO slot, 128MB flash ROM, reasonably capable CPU, wi-fi, bluetooth,... and of course the features of standard PDAs. I think well done Eten, they've put forward a well-rounded, good looking, (seemingly) capable device.
