Motorola Timeport 250 - User Reviews

  • what does " check card " mean when i turn my on, that's the msg i get

  • Hello, Please is there any info on where i can get this battery for motorola (timeport 260)? "Removable Li-Ion 600 mAh battery" Thanks...

  • I have this phone since 2001 and it is still in working condition.

  • A gem. My first mobile 'phone, and I still have one today. Sadly it's not compatible with my in-car unit, but is ideal for use when travelling, being tri-band, and with the addition of the 1000mAH extended-life battery and enlarged back. Mine is now running on GiffGaff and works like a charm.

  • Memories...only memories, as my first mobile phone, it reminds me those happy teenage days

  • Hi, can somebody tell me if id (number or/and name) of the missed call is shown? I had startac 130 and there was just the notice of the missed call on the display and no identification of the caller. thanks

  • It's a really old phone, but I got a charger that's for in cars and bought a adapter with, because I couldn't find something that goes right into the power outlet. But I recommend you taking the phone to the shop and ask around which fits in and loads.

  • My uncle gifted this Gem of a phone to me from UK to india. Its a very good phone and i loved it. Using for years now but it's charger is lost now. Please help me to find an alternate or the original if available anywhere. In Nokia handsets we can share the chargers. Is tere any other motorola handset whose chargewr is compatable? Please help me. I know you people are very helpfull.

  • I think it is delete one by one by one. [email protected]

  • I am about to donate my phone to charity, but would first like to erase all the phone book entries in one operation, and not one by one. The Master Reset didn't do it. Is there a secret Total Reset button somewhere? Many thanks.

  • Were you able to get the print/text back to normal? I think you have to hold in a key for a longer period of time and it will revert to small or vice versa large. Hope this will help.

  • I can't seem to get the print back to small or normal as my husband would say.

  • One of the gratest phones with unique full functional answering machine. Voice notes are very handy and overall the phone works like a charm. It has excellent, soft, no resonant sound quality (ear speaker and mic). Still a pleasure to listen to even after 7 years having it. Still use it as a backup phone, because it is rock solid, incontrast to all my newer phones - various sony-ericssons. Those one broke very easily and software is rather glitchy. Timeport 250 is a gem. Answers to previous posts: Lock/Unlock keypad viea simultaneous press of [#] and [*]. When you get used to it, you'll easily do it in one hand. Language can be set through menus, by counting them from the uppermost. menu, option 6 ("phone setup"), option 19 ("language"), there you will see names of all languages in native letterset. Just to ensure that you are on the right chinese menu, "language" menu is also an option 6, when counting from the bottom.

  • Was my first phone also. Bought Oct/Nov 2001 in Lagos. It had a unique ringing tone that sounds so gentle when you're close but can be heard over a very long distance (you'll hear it from the room upstairs with room door closed. I once lost it at Alaba International Market, but the shop owner who had seen it with me (he also had same and valued it so much) rallied round and the phone resurfaced.

  • Some one gave me a Motorola TIMEPORT 250 to use while I am in Europe. Unfortunately the language is set to Chinese. Could some one, please, tell me the steps I need to reset the language back to English? Thank you

  • The first mobile I bought. I loved and love it still. It has a quick - one button voice note function that is very handy indeed. smiles, doug

  • I got this phone from a friend who got it as a bundle in 2002. It is my first mobile phone and it still works like a charm. I like this phone very much and I still use it every day.

  • A friend gave me this phone but he doesn't know how to lock/unlock the keypad: can someone help me?

  • ive been using this kind of stuff for almost 5yrs..and goooshhh its seems like the first time..no more noless..im planning to buy nokia n70 series.but i couldnt imagine letting go this phone..i love it..more than anything else..its superb!!!! in the Philippines this model is Timeport P7679 but it is the same with T250.

  • I bought this phone while stationed in Italy. I have used it since 2001 and continue to use it. Other than the fact that it came with the User's Manual in Italian it still works great and is virtually indestructible. I have used it all over America and still take it back and forth to Europe.

  • I have this phone for 2 years, and now I try to conect it via IRDA (infrared). Also I am looking for drivers for this phone. Any one of you have the CD drivers of this phone? Thank you for any info and advices. adi.

  • i've been using one of these phones since 2000,(admittely not my main phone all the time tho), and apart from 2 slightly sticky keys, it works perfectly. Its built well. yes it doesnt have the latest gizmos, but its perfect for my need, why would i replace it if it still works ??

  • and yes, is it a coincidence, that people who own this phone are reluctant to get a new one? I think, to some extent this Motorola has set a standard, what a decent and functional phone should look like. Now we are offered multitude of strictly speaking useless features, while those, that we need most are totally ignored by manufacturers and therefore absent. Some users wonder, why subsequent Moto's phones don't have such convenient voice functions at hand... so do I... that's why I can't decide which new phone I should buy - nothing compares to this... yes, it's big, the menu sux, and it does not have a colour screen :)) but who cares.. original battery, after having been worked for 5 years improved !!! and now can hold 2-3 days. I dunno what happened :) Nor have I any idea what handset should I choose in the future... even if I buy anything I'll definitely use this one as my second phone. But I fear there'll be nothing that simple and at the same time sophisticated as this Timeport. Rispekt, Motorola, thank you for my first and probably last phone in life. ;))

  • Me too :) I've been using this phone since 2003 feb. (I bought it from a guy, who'd had it for 2 yrs already), it's still perfect, works like a charm, good recipiency in bad conditions. It was meant as a business class phone and it's been working as such for so long. I like voice recorder and answering machine functions, and if I buy a new phone some day, I shall definitely look for smth. that would resemble this, I dare say, masterpiece ;)

  • Exceptionaly good phone. Sorry. I dont now english.

  • I am using the Timeport since 5 years. Like all Motorola phones I used before it is very rugged and simple to use. You can talk in very fringe areas where other phones do not work anymore. Exceptionally good phone!

  • I have this fone for about 3 years I dropped it so many times that I lost count ^_^.. I love this fone very much even if its to large on my pocket im still using it and proudly showing it to others.. when someone citicize my fone I challenge them for fone endurance hehehe.. drop it from certain height then check if the fone is still functional ahihihihihi wahahahaha

  • I have motorola TIME PORT 250 THE KEY PAD IS NOT WORKING WELL no 5,6,*that is the only key pad that is working pls send me the digram of how i can connect it on the board so that i can repair it GSM Engineer thanks.

  • Worst phone i've ever used. The paint on the digits started disappearing after four months, battery life was a disappointment, and it was completely dead after 10 months, menu is completely anti-user-friendly. Motorola=crap.

  • motorola timeport i think very strong strenght that signal i am make use this ponsel 5 year more but i need cassing this phone motorola time port i need help maybe everyone who know where i buy this cassing and keypad too thank you!

  • If you need the manual look in

  • Hi, I am also looking for a user manual for the T250. Anyone a suggestion where it can be found? Many thanks

  • RE: where can i find and download a english version user manual for the timeport 250 by motorola try

  • Hey guys, you know what? I am still using my motorola t250. It's been almost 3 years and this fantastic phone is running on its original first battery. I don't know if that phone is marvelous or I was just luck when buying this one. I am wondering how long I will be able to use this solid machine more because I had dropped it very hard a few times, nothing happened. I am trying to break the record of my sister. She had used her nokia 3210 for 5 years. Last week it's been "reported" that Nokia 3210 has died :) Sometimes I see some guys are looking for the user manual of this machine. It is very easy to find the manual in 5 minutes by writing and searching "motorola timeport t250" in google.

  • Hellou I can not find a driver for infraport to Motorola timeport T250.Please send my an a web page adress or send me to email how can i get it. Thanks Peter

  • @Savas Genc I completely agree with you. The best assett of this phone has been it's Voice memo capability supporting also a built-in (cost-free) tele-secretary. I wonder why Moto did not push the idea with the successors.

  • where can i find and download a english version user manual for the timeport 250 by motorola

  • hi, i m Faheem Mushtaq. I want the secret code of motrolla timeport 250 to master reset. Can U help me about this matter.

  • My ten year old now has this phone which used to be my husband's. But we cannot find the instruction manual and it doesn't seem as easy to work out as our Nokia's! Please help! Can we download the instructions? Thanks Sue

  • Have Timeport250. Leaving the country for a long trip in 24 hours. MUST have the manuel. CAn I get it online in the next short while so I can print it ? Thank you

  • my ex-boss gave me his old Motorola 250 but can't find the user manual. I would especially like to know how to secure it as it keeps phoning long distance calls in my pocket, but I have to carry it around with me for work. thanks, David

  • I have been using this phone nearly 2,5 years. it's my 5th phone. and i can say this is the best phone i have ever used. yes of course you may say. it is a big phone, its ring tones sucks, it has no gprs capability. but this phone excellent features according to its price. built-in telesecretery, 300 number store capacity and best of it, it has a 3 minutes voice record. I use the last option most. its voice record button is at rigt place ergonomically. you d'ont have to look around the menus or buttons to save record while speaking. The last thing I want to add is that nowadays a lot of 65 K and 256 K xcolored phones are on the market. But their "super" features are getting out dated almost in 3 months. I am planning to use my motorola 250 for another 2 years waiting and see this new generations phones get matures and get rid of their childhood sickness. I have no hurry .because I have got a HP jornada hendheld pc which does alot of thing new generation phones can't

  • Poor battery, with correctly network settings. All other things are fine...

  • This fone fucking sucks dudes! Its a steaming pile of crap. Its overcomplicated, dificult to use and dull, there are so many better fones available from Sony and Nokia, don't buy this turkey.

  • It's the best of all my phones. "Just" five days in stand-by and all that features, performance and memory

  • I've got this phone for 13 months now. What can I say. It's stupid! Lots of soung weatures (answering machine, voice tags for ph.numbers and ph. functions). Very bad menu. Battery isn't much.Just as the 1 year warranty ended, the phone stopped operating :( payed 20$ to repair it... Can't find a data cable for it. I wouldn't recommend buying this phone. Better get a Nokia or Siemens with less sound functions though. But I don't use them much...

  • It is a very nice handset worthy of recommendation. Cheers, Power.

  • This phone sucks. lousy quality. buttoms unable to read. near AM sound quality - do not buy this piece of junk!!!!!!

  • I have had this phone for the last 2 years This phone is really amazing, it does wonders.

  • i think the alarm clock should have the ability to use ringtones for the alarm and it should last longer. i think the standard rings are too plain.

  • COOL

  • I recently purchased a Motorola Timeport 250, but the users manuel is in Italian. Is there an English version available for download?

  • My third mobile, and least favorite. Menus are slow. Voice quality is poor. You can't use it with a case. It feels cheap. In summary - not a quality item

  • daite mi takawa motorola we.

  • If anyone wants to download user manual, you need version 4 or above of acrobat reader. Get the manual downloaded from motorola.co.uk Yes the quick access menu does give very fast access to most used features, but the actual speed of navigating between menus is quite slow, although not a major problem. The size is a bit big too for nowadays, still very good overall though.

  • Dobre funkcije, al jebiga cigla je. Translation: Not bad, but it's big, btw good functions.

  • T250 rules. I am sooo adicted to voice functions. And this baby has it all. And it`s fast. Damn fast. I challenge any Nokia to acces the most used functions as fast as this little devil can. A i ona Ivana pre mene bi mogla da mi se javi ako joj nije tesko :)))

  • Have had a play with this phone at work, very good features and feels and looks very good. No one else has mentioned this, but it even has a built in answer machine which uses the Voicenotes memory and means no voicemail charges! Only the Sony z5 has this as well. Menu is slow though and not very user friendly-the ITAP text input is not as fast as Tegic T9 because it makes you choose a word from a list each time rather than just letting you keep typing. The only reason I am not getting this is because I am getting Nokia 6210, otherwise I would get it.

  • OK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It's a great phone but impossible to find a case for.

  • I have just buied a Motorola Timeport 250, and I want to know more of it. I*ll send my opinion to you shortly. Bye.

  • this phone sucks! it is undoubtly the worst phone I have ever owned. Motorola needs to go out of business to save us from wasting our money on their crapy products. It has so many bugs its no funny.

  • I love my phone. Timeport 250 is cool

  • Good phone; clarity is exceptional, and menu is very easy to navigate - could do with a longer duration battery and improved case design.

  • This phone is now sold here in czech republic i pre-paid set for less than 6000Kc, which is about $150-$180. Great, isn't it? Only lacks profiles, which made me rather buy ericsson R320 than this beauty.

  • Nice looking phone, good size (if only they'd get rid of the aerial) nice weight, shame about the menu system though! Motorola still can't get it right. Supposedly you can donwload a manual from Motorola.co.uk but it doesn't work for me:(

  • Bought this phone to replace my crap Nokia 3210, it is brilliant, 3 mins of Voice notes, vibracall works beautifully, great belt clip and a nice weight, not too light not too heavy. Much better menu and if you live with not having the ease of putting in ringtones it is a very good phone.

  • What version is the WAP browser && what is the price? I suppose it is v1.1 because it has no GPRS.

  • Great phone and the only affordable tri-band phone I could find in Finland! Great performance but the display is not really built for old dim-sighted farts like me....!

  • This phone is very cool and much butter than Nokia,Ericsson etc.I like it very much it has great features and a f-a-n-t-a-s-t-i-c design!

  • timeport??? more like TIMEWARP the sooner motorola go bankrupt the better ,this phone is third world junk and we all deserve much better, if anyone knows any directors of motorola please e/mail them this page. THEIVES & ROBBERS AND I HOPE YOU ALL DIE SOON . and im sooooooo bitter that I could have bought far better for far less, eg ericsson & nokia for a start

  • I like motorola t250 but I`d like to know more about its secret codes.
