Nokia 6555 - User Reviews

  • This phone feels like it's missing something unlike other Nokia phones.

  • The MIDI ringtones are lower pitched unlike other Nokia models

  • Mine is a 6555b. Got it in 2004. Yes, 2004. It makes calls and receives calls because I blocked all other items. Dropped, kicked, drowned, rattles like a baby's rattle, with the battery removed and it still works. It has it's quirks now but still going. The snr could be better but hay,it's ten years old. Thinking of trading it in for a new one. I have replaced the battery once and have a spare but never used. Got new battery at about 10 year time. Pain in the but some times as I have to press speaker button (top right....speaker) to hear. Don't know about the 6555i.

  • I have accidentally reset the Nokia 925 to factory setting and now it won't function.Only a pair of gears shown on screen Please advice

  • At the beggining the phone is very good bt with time it has display problem.

  • I bought this phone almost 5 years ago and still works. Sure it gave me problems with the speaker and battery life is short. But I have to tell you, it has fallen like a thousand times... so, it works pretty good considering that.

  • This phone was as "GOODBYE NOKIA" for me. After 4 faults in Mic and speaker, finally I threw it to wall and said "GOODBYE NOKIA"! I'll never buy other nokia phones in the future.

  • I've owned the phone for over 2 years and have been annoyed by it shuuting off as others have. I also do not understand why nokia has not recalled it as a company should stand behind their product! I will try the paper in the battery box suggestion, but this should Not be necessary!

  • use star (asterix) first or try with *#7370#

  • Iou Could you please tell me how to set up phone using nokia reset code #7780#. Step by step please I have no idea. Thanks

  • Regarding the Nokia 6555 battery life problem - I finally found a solution that works for me. Simply reset the phone using the Nokia reset code *#7780# this fixed the problems I was having ( short life, power on/off on its own, etc) this reset does not destroy your contact list or your photos, etc)

  • My battery seems to drain faster than normal and I am wondering if its a defect on the phone's part cos my battery is quite alright... Is the battery power this bad on a 6555?

  • Is a very very good phones is not aan expres music but i am usining like one.

  • Rubbish phone!!! Shutting down all the time. It did work for 12 months without trouble and as soon as my phone hits 13th month (out of warranty), the phone starts shutting off. Also noticed, different nokia phone, same location, same time and same provider, this phone is getting 50% less signal reception as compared to other phone. I am sick of Nokia phones. I will try Sony!!!

  • try the paper first,,,it's free,,,, you know "metallic products" are not paper and are conductive,,,,,,,,if it doesn't work, see my post

  • mine would shut off answering or during calls,,,,, i put in a 2 gig memory card and it hasn't happened since,,,, some guy here said he put a piece of paper in his and fixed the shutting off problem,,,,maybe the battery just needs to be tighter in it's housing. ...or did the 2 gig card free up internal memory? not asking a question,,good luck with a great phone.

  • PEOPLE!I had the same problem with turning off itself.BUT ANYMORE.Just put a little paper between battery and case, there is too much free space inside and baterry "run".

  • If you have a battery BL 5C in your phone, you should check the Nokia website for recalls. Just follow directions.

  • Nice little fone, BIG BIG shame about the short lack of battery life.

  • Easily the wost phone I've ever owned. It would shut itself off without reason or warning. It would also randomly dial people from my contacts list. Not necessarily people in my speed dial list -- just any random contact. I returned the first one thinking maybe I just got a bad phone, but the second one behaved in the exact same way. Other people I know who've owned it complained of the same issues. Clearly this phone some very bad design issues. Nokia had to be aware, as a person at the service center where I had them replace the phone told me they had seen a lot of issues with these phones. Had Nokia confessed to the problem and offered a replacement with a different model, or phone that had been retrofitted with a fix, I'd have been happy. But they just gave the same crappy phone again. As a result, I will never buy another Nokia phone.

  • I got the same problem it turns off by it's self without ever damaging it.

  • Dear All, I am using it since last two years and no problem is to be founded, it is good for all students & businessmen

  • It keeps getting turned off by itself thousands of times a day. Not a good choice.

  • I've had this phone for almost two years now and it sucks!!! It is always shutting off by itself and the battery life is very low. This is my second one and it is just as bad as the first one!! I do not recommend this phone!!

  • Hi , just bought this phone and quite like it , , just one question , i have mp3's on my memory card that i want to assign as a ringtone , ive tried doing this but it comes up with file too large ? never had a prob with other phones setting an mp3 file ? is it using the phone memory ?

  • I have puted a peace of paper in one side of battery so it gives more pressure on connection. Turning off is, I believe, problem of connection between battery and phone.

  • I've had this phone for almost 2 years, and it's been good to me. The battery life is a little short, I have to admit. It shuts off on its own about once a month while I'm sending a text. It gets warm if I'm talking more than a half hour or when I'm using it while it's charging. However, these have all been minor issues to me. This phone has been dropped (open and closed) and kicked but still keeps on going. The call quality is great too.

  • Horrible Phone. I have two, same problem. No more Nokia/ATT.

  • Random shut-offs. Turns itself off while talking to someone. A total piece of crap. Only save it if you want to throw it at a Nokia engineer.

  • I have Nokia 6555 for 1 1/2 year. For past 6 months phone is randomly shutting down. I noticed worsen this problem with combination blue-tooth, power charger and use of my phone. Phone is in good shape and relatively new. Because is out of warranty Nokia or AT&T won't take care of this problem for free. I believed this is manufacturer problem. Do you have any suggestions beside using paper in battery compartment? Thanks

  • I have this phone. I dont really like it. The battery heats up. The phone is constantly turning itself off. When it doesnt turn it self of, it freezes. Everyone who calls me says that it says that the telephone is turned off, while it just freezes, not to mention the situations when it turns itself off. It is really not worth its price. I dont advise you to buy this phone.

  • I have actually been using this phone for the past 4mths now, its bin on and off especially when am sending text msgs. its quiet annoying though, tink NOKIA should please take their time when producing phones. its such a sleek and cute phone, most times i regret buying it.

  • This phone would be perfect for me if it didn't shut off at random. AT&T replaced my phone, but I am still having this problem. My battery does seem loose, and I'm going to try another poster's suggestion and use a piece of paper to shim the battery against the terminals. Hopefully, this fixes the problem once and for all.

  • Why is there no USB data cable in sales package.

  • Nice phone, but the battery is a huge disappointment. Typical Nokia quality, reliability, and over all a likeable phone. Too bad the battery is so limited in capacity, it really spoils a good phone.

  • A VERY BAD PHONE! We have 2 and both have the same problem of cutting off. Have exchanged both with at&t. They will not exchange another as they don't care and neither does Nokia. I'll not buy another Nokia! I'm going to buy off the internet and let my contract with at&t expire next year. The bottom line is none of these companies care about you! Its the bottom line... Don't believe all these fancy commercials because that's all they are is commercials!

  • My nokia 6555, I can't hear next customer

  • Exchanged phone at least 6 times with provider under warremty program within the very first year, usually for repeat problems. After warrenty period over, took the time to write to Nokia and they basically didn't care and sent mr packing. Got the Office of President's email/contact info - let's see what happens. Who has the time to keep writing, looking for someone to care and listen?

  • I have loved my phone for the last two years - love the pics especially! battery life, yes, definitely need more - it's time to move on...love Nokia - will stick with Nokia for sure.. design is great, dropped it more than once, watch video clips, send emails, text constantly, acess internet, google, used it to its max.... ready for more power, faster downloads. The car charger doesn't work anymore, need to charge daily. Barely makes it through the day -

  • A real peace of crap...dont buy this! Battery life is the thing..lasts for ONE day...just do a search at google, and youll see how many customers are really mad about this crap phone.

  • this is a good phone for internet support... best design, memory card can up to 8gb,da problem is the battery.

  • My 6555 was powering off soon after I bought it about 12 months ago. I discovered that if I jammed a piece of folded paper between the battery and the compartment the phone does not shut off. The designers of the battery compartment messed up. The molds that were used to create the compartment were not designed correctly and now many of us are stuck with a battery compartment that is too big for the battery. Try the folded paper idea to push the battery into the phones battery copper leads. This worked for my phone. Good luck.

  • There might be a solution about the shutting off problem of the Nokia 6555 - it might be the battery compartment. If you will open the battery cover, check if you can move the battery up and down...if yes then that might be the cause of the problem. All you need to is to is to have it tighten by putting a paper folded to two or three to fit and place the battery tightly. I have done that and now the shutting off problem stops...though the battery life really sucks. Mine only gives me about two days. I really wonder about that when it uses a BL-5C type that has a 1020 mAH capacity. It should be even better that the BL-4U battery which has 1000 mAH.

  • Mine shuts off too, and it is pretty annoying when you are towards the end of a text and then it shuts off. Ugghhh. The battery does not last long either.

  • can someone teach me on how i can set my gprs on my phone?

  • Yes. This is the worst phone ever. I got this junk and in 2weeks, it started shutting off on me. Got a new one replace, same issue, got battery replace same issue. NOKIA!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE RECALL THIS JUNK!!!!!!!!!!!! tHIS ISN'T FAIR ON BUYERS

  • this phone is gayy its just my temp phone until i get my lg shine in.. how do you save your pics and ringtones thats get sent to you through text messaging

  • I think it's a good phone... not great :) but still...

  • THAT is the best thing I've ever read!! a hammer...

  • This is my second 6555. I believe this phone is a piece of junk to say the least. The first 6555 I had would just shut off for no apparent reason. I spoke with customer service at AT&T and they sent me another 6555. This one has been doing the exact same thing. My boss also has the same phone and he is on his third one. I wouldn't recommend this phone for anything other than throwing it into a pool of water like skipping rocks.

  • The phone works well and tries it's hardest to appear user friendly. However, I do have some gripes with it. 1) T9- The predictive text works well but you have to press options before viewing the alternative spellings. This means pressing an additionally two buttons every time T9 doesn't guess your word on the first try. 2) Backlight- Although Nokia interfaces are generally very customizable, I can't set the backlight time for my 6555. 3) Camera placement- For a 1.2 megapixel cam, the optics are quite nice. However, the camera is placed near the middle of the phone (when open) so the view is usually obscured by my finger at first. 4) C aka delete key- There is none. Which means deleting requires pressing 'options' then scrolling down to 'delete'. 5) No way to light up external display without raising volumne of ringtone. Some people have complained of short battery life but I don't use the music player on mine, nor do I use EDGE so I haven't experienced this. I also have updated in awhile and my phone is still branded by AT&T. >_< The only reason I haven't debranded is because I don't have too much of a problem with it and I like the Nokia warranty. In summary, for people with high-end needs, spend the extra cash on a high end N-series. For those with basic needs, there are simpler phones for cheaper.

  • I had this phone for almost a year , my older brother's had it for two years. It's a pretty nice phone. It has some good qualities. I texted on it so much that it wouldn't show my messages anymore. It just showed a question mark. I did really love this phone.

  • i have a problem with my nokia 6555c, i cannot set music save on memory card or on phone memory as ringtone. Can somebody help me please?

  • it's really a good phone, with a great design, the only problem is that you don't have radio on it, and the music navigation keys is only inside.

  • it really is a good phone. or it would be if it wouldnt restart all the time. maybe its from a year and a half of txting constantly but its developed a problem of turning itself off repetitively

  • There is a easy fix for all the problems I fixed mine . Home Depot sells a tool called a hammer.

  • anyone help me? i download from zedge and my cell won't let me use the MP3 tones:(

  • hi viewers nokia model is very exelent.

  • Good Phone and functions, excelent display, beautiful design, elegant and stylish....battery life is very poor...

  • why is nokia 6555 not made 4 teenagers?

  • can you tell me if wat is the MOST perfect phone???

  • Nice phone but doesn't come with a USB cable so, you have to buy one . Battery life is not that great either. Other than that it's a great phone for basic needs.

  • cell is good, but battery time is very poor, beautiful design

  • this phone has a bad battery but is great for listening to music ! Its loud and extrememly clear. I need to know if it's charging or not though it's hard to tell.

  • Nokia phone used to be best, I used to have one dropped many times on ground, eventually several screws are loosen yetjust work perfect. Not sure now and see many style not nice.

  • you don't know why? US is a realistic country and accept anything that has better performance/cost. Every country has rich people, or even not rich but need sth to race them up, a person used to borrow money from me yet drive Mercedes-Benz, those need top level things, like sb in China buy a car just after Japan king, and knock off a few Mercedes-Benz using hammers. anywhere get good and bad product, canon camera made in Japan but not reliable anymore. Motorola phones - not sure made in where - bad to me. how about you?

  • The phone has lots of memory but the battery is not to write about. I love the memory and the black color I have it so great. Pls nokia make a phone that the battery will last longer. Thanks for making great phones.

  • Hiii,,, i wounder ..what made NOKIA to produce all products in China...... that realy something i wish to have an answer for,,in the middle east all made in CHINA not accetable in the markets ,,imagen if its MOBILE .....

  • Choose E51.it's the best

  • i'm asking about its battery life time.is it really annoying?

  • bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb

  • battery life of my phone is not good at all. I have to charge it by the afternoon in order to keep it from dying. . .I like the phone, but always having to make sure I have my charger with me is getting ridiculous.

  • i saw that phone of the nokia website and it looks very attractive and iwas thinking of buying it but after i read the comments here i'm having second thoughts

  • This phone is ok. My phones main problem is the battery duration 2-3 days and that after a couple minutes of pics or watching videos the screen turns white. I have to close and open a couple times to back to normal.

  • no it is just for display

  • this phone is the worst phone I have ever owned. It keeps overheating and the battery is dead in about 20 minutes after a full charge. So save your money and don't buy this phone.

  • is it fair?

  • sorry nokia6555!!!

  • Hi peoples!! I need to know how I can change the time of display is on (internal display). I dont know how I can do this. Please, tell me how!!! Thanks!

  • Good phone ! This is not made for teenagers ! Users, who want comfortable useing and exellent display - go for it.

  • I have not had a very good experience with this phone...at all. When i first bought the phone it seemed like a good choice, there was so many options to customize it and it worked pretty well overall. Eventually, a problem came up where the phone would randomly turn off. It turns out this is a problem with the design of the phone where the battery slides around and gets unplugged from time to time. I eventually traded in this phone for a new one of the same model. My second phone had the exact same problem, so I eventually recieved a third phone of the same model. This phone (strangely enough) does not have the problem of turning off randomly, but has a string of new issues. The phone has begun to not recognize my charger. If i plug the charger in, the phone says that its charging, yet continues to lose battery until it dies. My other issue is that this phone randomly loses signal (even though it has full bars) and i have to repeatedly turn the phone off and on until it works. Please, I urge you, DO NOT get this phone. It will only be unreliable and cause a whole string of problems for you. It was definitely a waste of the money i spent.

  • This phone is flawed I have had problems with two separate phones. They just power down with a full charge. Especially in the middle of phone calls it has progessively gotten worse to the point of 2 or 3 times in a day. I am not hard on my phones and these two are both getting sent back to the manufacturer. A phone should at least work as a phone first. I could care less about all the other features with music and internet, but this doesn't even work properly as a phone and that is sad. I would recommend looking at other options before considering this phone.

  • Hi! I have this phone on 2 days only. But, really, the battery life is very poor! I need to know how I can change the time of internal display show on, because my device quikily turn off. This is bad... I want that the display is on for more time. Thanks!

  • Okay people. I am working on the third 6555 in 7 months(fourth Nokia total) from warranty. Frankly, Nokia shouldn't brag on their phones AT ALL. I previously had the 6102 Nokia (same piece of junk in a different shape). All have had the problem of turning off at random, one kept dropping calls at random, and this one sometimes won't pick up a call (it lights up, but doesn't ring, vibrate, or even say incoming call). I am not hard on phones, do not expose them to harsh environments, I just flat out do not abuse phones. I moderately use my phone (no texting or internet...just talk). I depend on my phone all of the time and Nokia has been a disappointment for me. Some people might not have troubles as bad as I do, but I cannot truly trust Nokia brand again. AT&T promised me that I could get another brand phone if this next one gives me trouble. For God's sake....DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE AT ALL! AVOID IT!!!!

  • great phone, very easy to use, but as other comments mentioned before the battery life is very poor - it needs charging every 2 days or so....

  • well, my experience it's so brief: I already buy it, and the battery was charged only 2 times... I hope that it has an increasing in the time of use. Regards.

  • I'm a brazilian user, so forgive errors in this post. I buy one 6555 and it's very good, but one thing is not so good: the battery. It don't have a good charge. Or, in others words: the charge don't have long duration, endurance. Only just 2-3 days. =o/ [in pt-br]: a carga da bateria dura pouco, uns 2-3 dias.

  • his battery is wonderful,i have listen the music for 6 hours and his battery will never shut off.The 6555c la omandava lo perro

  • I mean: " a faulty design".

  • Hi folks! Thanks to your opinions I just dropped an order I'd made for a Nokia 6555. This mobile is very attractive but seems to have a faulty project.

  • I bought one in july 2008. ıt never shuts down. I have no problem with this phone.

  • Im not usually a writing person but i have to write something important about the 6555. I also bought one in June 2008 and it seems the turning off problem is everywhere, mine used to turn off randomly and the most annoying when i was typing sms and i had to write them again. About the battery after 15m conversation i felt the keypad was really hot and even buying a new battery it didnt get better. I thought it was a single problem but from the comments ive read it seems something's wrong with the model itself. Nokia Portugal doesnt have it in stock so after 3 months and 2 repairs they gave me another model. In Pt the phone cost me 195eur, so its not that cheap:/

  • yes it does

  • As stated by an earlier entry, this phone is a piece of crap, hot on face after 10-15 minutes of talk time, turns off whenever it feels like it, speaker breaks very easy so now I can't understand the caller, camera takes crappy pictures. when plugged into a computer you can get to most items on the phone without any software though.

  • just read this comment thanks for this info i almost got this phone i thought it was good phone...

  • I have this phone and i can honestly say it's a piece of crap. You can be talking on the phone for like 10 mins and the phone is already burning your face off, and it shuts off whenever it feels like to.

  • I have a rather old SIEMENS, with the same behavior! Two years ago, I performed "surgery": with some cotton swabs and a drop of alcohol (Russian VODKA) I cleaned the battery/phone plated contacts... WORKED! (I did-it again this summer: too much moisture!)

  • it's true, i have exactly the same problem as you... i don't recommend to buy this phone because of this...but i go to a shop of my brand, fix that problem that you describes and now works perfectly...(it has to be in warranty) strictly as a phone is very complete and have good price/quality relation...

  • I'm very happy with mine, does everything I want it to.

  • this phone sucks. i bumped it off a table thats like 2 feet high and the battery fell out. put the battery back in now the piece of trash wont even turn on. GG nokia.

  • so plz can u suggest me any nokia flip phone plz i really need a new phone or should i hav E51 thatz the phone my dad is suggesting mee plz help me

  • yes it can store up to 3000

  • Dont make the mistake of buying this phone! Battery is cr*p and just like the 6131s & co., it switches itself of whenever it feels like it! I already changed firmware twice and nothing can solve this problem as (according to Nokia), is some level 3 hardware problem bullsh*t!

  • Do not dare to get nokia 6555!it turns off when it feels like, and you simply can't trust it!besides, the battery doesn't last at all. Don't get this one, i'm trying to get mine fixed for the second time and i've had it for 2 months!!!i think they do not want to admit the problem, but most nokia 6555 owners have the same problem

  • buy this one! its actually good.. you can download many things especially when you have memory card! so buy this!

  • hey anyone plz tell me should i buy this cell or not because i really need one can anyone suggest me a phone it should be of nokia because i luv using nokia phones but iam really confused please help me!!!

  • GREAT phone 10/10!!!!

  • this phone sometimes randomly turns off during a conversation, not that often, but when it does it's maddening. not a good phone

  • I'm SO happy to have found the comments on this site! I've had my 6555 since Dec. 07 and recently it's begun dropping calls like crazy. The phone & sim card were completely replaced by the device support center and still calls are dropping. It's maddening as the phone is used for business. It's rare that I can complete one call without dialing back.

  • Did anyone figure out how to keep the screen from going dark and jumping to screensaver in about 5 seconds? Of course, I'm never quite sure if the screensaver has activated or the phone has just randomly shut down once again. Try being on hold for ten minutes and then as soon as you get to speak with some customer service agent your phone just randomly shuts off, so you have the pleasure of repeating the whole thing over again! I loved my old Nokias, this one sucks.

  • I got this phone a day ago and i wanted to know if it supports wireless internet?!

  • I agree with most of the post. I say most because I have not read them all. The phone is constantly turning itself off in the middle of a conversation and even when just sitting idel on the desk/table, Speaker is speakerless, vibration is barely felt. I do love the style/design but the performance is lacking. Nokia should provide a replacement phone for all owners of this model - Free since it is not our fault the phone lacks performance.

  • I have to echo previous complaints. My phone turns itself of for no good reason several times a day. It's miserable.

  • this phone stinks...always turns off when i'm talking to someone, or for no reason at all. It even shuts down when I try to turn it back on!!! ATT needs to replace everybodys 6555 with a phone that works, or someone is gonna find themselves in front of a judge. Final word...LEMON!

  • It's rather cheaply made (not very sturdy), but the big problem with this phone is it's tendency to turn off. My mother has the same model and we both have had this problem since the start: The phone will turn off for no apparent reason, which is irritating in the middle of a conversation to say the least. Sometimes it happens when you push any button, sometimes when a call comes in, or other times when there is no status change at all. NOT a good phone.

  • The PTT is always getting pushed. Nuisance. The volume is always getting pushed. Pain. Fits in the small pocket of 5 pocket jeans. Great. Vibration so weak I often cannot feel it in my pocket. Speakerphone not so hot. Bluetooth transfer works well with pictures I've taken. Buttons rather tiny for older hands, but I still manage to text. Had phone 1 1/2 yr. Won't work. Was hot, not sure if battery fried or what. Turns on but can't push anything but numbers. Shuts self off immediately. Looking for a new phone and my 2 yrs not up.

  • I really love the design of this phone, its just what i havebeen looking for, but it has an aweful speaker and is rubbish, nothing special about it.

  • Nokia told 14 days standby. Reality is so different. I buy a new phone from FIDO, I used it one hour per day, about 10 to 15 calls in total and battery dies in just two days. It is so bad, because I buy this nokia phone for the battery. Nokia lies about the battery life to sell this model. The phone is PLASTIC not metal made. If you are looking for battery life, don't choose this phone. I like nokia, but lately they advertise this batery life just to catch more customers. In the same situation is the 6301 model. I'm dissapointed about this.

  • oh yes...remember that Nokia are koola and realiable and...rubish...the old nokia phones were wery good...but from 2003-2004 they produce rubish phones ;)

  • I have had this phone for almost a yr. I do not ennjoy the speaker phone... weak speaker/volume. Nothing special.

  • i really like nokia cell phones, but this is the biggest piece of junk i have ever bought. this is the second one.turns off all the time, the screen goes nuts, starts dialing a bunch of numbers at the same time, the camera turns on by itself. sometimes i think that the phone is possed.pulled out the old nokia out of the drawer and have decided not to send back possesed phone and save myself another head ache.save yourself minutes and hours of waiting in line to report, explain and wait for reply to finaly get charged a deductible and recieve another lemon.thnk you and god bless you.

  • My Nokia 6555 calls one of my speed dial numbers for no reasons. I'll be driving in the car, with it holstered on my belt, and it will call home, for instance. Any idea how to make it stop doing this?

  • Same problem, getting new phone sent too me. My external screen cracked... oh snap just noticed... i just called ATT but didnt even tell them screen was cracked just mentioned phone would turn off. Whoops!

  • On my 6131 which I imagine would have similar menus - in Time and Date settings the option is there to disable the "auto update time/date". With this feature set to off then it is possible to manually adjust the time. When it is on it is not possible to adjust time. I am considering a 6555 so apologies if the menus are different.

  • it's metal

  • really like this phone but i am keep trying to update the time and it keeps telling me that the automatic updates are on and as long as they are running i cannot change the time. how do i turn them off? cant seem to do it

  • Hi there, Can anyone tell whether the square up/down/side to side button on the keypad is metal or plastic? Thanks.

  • Nokia, why don't you display MDN number on the phone instead of time like 6550 T-mobile. I liked this phone, but I need MDN display instead of time display. If somebodies phone rings, if I don't want to pick up, then I can simply ignore it. But, 6550 is not available in India.

  • Worst Nokia I have ever owned! I bought this phone May 08, & have had it exchanged 5 times. Same problems with each replacement. It Turns off all the time, even when battery fully charged. Sound is low, speaker is easily damaged. Now that I have some extra money I'm looking to buy a new phone.

  • """"" This fone is like the 6131, and has the same features as the 6500 slide. The keypad is brilliant"""" beacuse is series 40 nokia this phone is classical and have a prestige ... very beatifull ,very

  • I bought this phone, used it for a few days and I didn't like it, so I returned it. I wouldn't recommend it.

  • This fone is like the 6131, and has the same features as the 6500 slide. The keypad is brilliant. I like it very much.

  • I had this phone for 14 weeks and even i changed the battery too, but it could not help me. the problem is phone that uses this much battery.I had to off every thing in order to get more battery life but even it could not give me enough to do simple things such as text and talk.It gives you less than a 3 hours but even for me it was about less than 2 hours

  • it`s cool i like it!

  • had several issues with the battery. I was told by nokia to change the phone settings and try..will see what happens, other than that the phone is just fine

  • i like this phone

  • This phone is terrible. Always turns off in the middle of calls even with a full battery, had the battery replaced and then the whole phone replaced and still turns off during calls. Battery will give you almost no time. While making calls of any duration, have to stand next to the wall with the phone plugged in or it will die in the middle of a call. If travelling have to turn it off so can use it later if neccessary as a full charge will not even last one day. Can't turn on speaker phone until caller answers. When you answer the phone callers can't hear you for a few seconds. Worst phone I ever had, finally was able to get it replaced today.

  • I had his phone at first but i hated it and gave it away.......the battery life is real poor..its stated that it has standby/talktime of 300h/6.5h respectively but i have a nokia 6120c now that has a lower stated battery life of 250h/300h and it seems to last longer.

  • You are correct! The battery is terrible. I thought it was the battery but its the phone. I plan on bringing this back for something different. My old Razor lasted 5 days without charging! I am thinking about going back to the Razor a much better hardware product!

  • we havent reached oct 2008

  • Do yourself a favor and AVOID this phone. I heard about the poor battery performance before buying, but though I'd just charge it every night anyway. That's not good enough. Sometimes I can get by charging every night; but if I make one voice call for over 30 mins the battery is almost completely drained! Terrible. Also I have never dropped this phone but the external screen cracked; took it back to the retailer who said it was a "pressure crack", and said you shouldn't keep it in your pocket, in purse, etc. What a joke! My phone is about 6wks old! Currently trying to get Nokia to replace just so I can sell it then buy my own replacement.

  • This is the worst phone I have ever had. The battery life is not even close to 6 hours. I am lucky if it lasts 2 hours. Had the dealer change settings to maximize the battery and it still is awful. Standby battery life is even worse- have to charge the phone almost daily. If the battery would last longer, this would be a nice phone.

  • battery sucks

  • I agree! This phone sucks! I wish I could have kept my Pantech C3b, but since I had insurance (which I apid for monthly) through AT&T, they told me what phone I would get...NO OPTIONS!!! And I had to pay $50 (for a RE-CONDITIONED phone)! AT&T sucks and so does this phone. It looks like an oversized tampon, but black in color....a long and HIDEOUS appeal!!!!!!!!!!

  • screen breaks way easy

  • hello nokia dealer, i brouth my nokia 6555 is october of 2008, for past couple weeks i notice that when i turn the phone on my creen light keep on and off, now for last couple dasy it don't turn on at all. i change the battery nothing happing, i have no phone now!! what should i do about it? i like to know can i shipping to nokia dealer for repair. please send me some informatiom

  • the nokia 6555 is like a very interesting phone it looks great and it works well the only thing though is it a quadband phone

  • I bought my Nokia 6555 is April of 2008. And since today I noticed that when I flip it open while on, the screen light keeps flashing off and on. Do any of you know why?

  • well i bought this phone mostly because my Panasonic SA6 broke and i really needed a new mobile. the first thing that i liked about this one is the way it looks. the black one is a bit agressive and i love it. indeed, the battery sucks big time, but the fact that it can hold a 4GB microSD card is a very big advantage. right now i have a 2GB one and it's working perfectly. the screen is extremely beautiful and the keypad is easy to handle. all in all i think that for a mid-range phone it's great!

  • my freinds i already broght this mobile 2 days back so suggest me wat to do my e mail id [email protected] plz advice mr nokia dealer

  • The best looking flip nokia but its to thick 2 be a realy style phone (it could have been a the new style phone) only a a tiny 2 inch disply it needs at least a 2.4inch a 1.3mp camra needs a 3.2 come on nokia this could have been the beast all round phone

  • One ugly cheap looking phone. Ringtones are lousy.Volume is much too low. My old Model # 6126 was a much better phone and i wish there was a way i could keep it and have it repaired, but since i had it insured with AT&T they insist i send it back.

  • first phone vibration broke, second phone the speaker blew out! my 3d currently is doing fine other than battery life sucks!soo well c wat happens in the future.

  • good design .... and good choice for one want 6131 and can't find it

  • I think its over priced! And the way the phone looks,is just not hot at all. Apart from the 3G.its the same as most of the nokia low end rage. Like the Nokia 3110c/3500c. The nokia 6300/6300i is much more cheeper the this one, better design and comes with 128mgb memory card. You dont even get a memory card or headset with the nokia 6555. i realy think nokia made a mess with this one

  • speaker quality is not good at all on 6555. i sold it and bought nokia 7500 prism. i am glad i bought this phone. it's far better than 6300. one good thing it doesnt become hot like 6300 while talking.

  • nokia has earned enough market share so now they damm care about their customers complaint. i think people all over the world are responsible for nokia's formidable global growth due their loyalty towards owning nokias by tradition.

  • looks great. Good reception. Easy to handly. But...that battery! I made three phone calls lasting about twenty minutes in all and the dam battery went almost flat. Nokia claims 11 days stand-by. Mine only lasted one day. This phone went straight back to the shop. Can Nokia not make an decent batteries? Wake up Nokia, battery power is vital. Aidan Heffernan

  • I though it is a goog d mobile so i sold it after 2 days

  • I LOVE NOKIA 6555! but,... this isnot in my country. it is horrible!

  • a real piece of junk two weeks old front lcd broke. I had already changed phones once so AT&T wouldn't do a thing and The Wonderfull NOKIA would not either so I just pack it around using it like that and telling every one about it and addvertizing for them. They should like that word of mouth always is good addvertizing. Thanks Nokia Never again. 23 months to go.....

  • this phone blows. my first one had a problem with shutting off randomly, and not letting me see the letters i type. i try and search through my address book, or text somebody, the field that my "cursor" would be on so to speak has a question mark on it, yet the other fields are visible. you can still type, but you just can't see what you're typing. so i got a replacement phone, it happened again the next day after i got it, and has happened sporatically since! and now i can't get another phone unless i pay full price.

  • Great phone. Got rid of my others for this one. Has not let me down. Very easy to operate. Great keypad. Have a camera so don't need this one. Excellent size. Great for pockets. Looks brill. However...just one gripe: the ringing volumn is very very low. I could hardly hear it. Otherwise, buy it. Aidan Heffernan

  • i got this phone from att and i love it! it was mah fav phone until i got mah blackberry pearl. lots of features and has the best keypad ive ever used... i love this phone. i would recommend it but the batterly life does suk

  • i just got this phone yesterday i like very much, but can anyone tell how to change the time out for the screen saver on the main display. It goes on the screen saver in like 5sec??

  • bad choice

  • POS!!! display turns black as i talk and there is no call timer (only after you talk, there is call time) DO NOT GET THIS ONE!!!!!!!!!!

  • Everyone seems to have taken the incorrect specs from the Nokia Website. The battery in this phone is a BL-5C which is an 850MaH battery not a 1020MaH battery. I think that is why the battery reviews are so poor. I am surprised it has taken so long for Nokia to find this out. In fact if you do a search on Nokia's web site for BL-5C you will find about 7 or 8 different phones or more with at least 4 or 5 different ratings for the same battery?

  • I bought this phone through ATT as an upgrade, this was a mistake. This phone started shutting off power as I close its flip. I sent it back and got a replacement (same model) after 1 week it too started showing the same problem. ATT won't replace it with a different phone. I have to purchase a phone at full price. I advise anyone who is thinking about buying this phone to run tothe hills

  • i bought this phone 3 months back,it didnt make me happy,i have a problem with this phone after 30 days ,it restart and switched off immediately, then i report to at@t, they replace with another phone(same model).now this phone also i am experenceing the same problem. what to do?

  • nokia is good, but not really when it comes to flip phones. weird...

  • I can't find any acc. to go with the phone.usb/software to download.

  • Love this phone...Pity I cant get it here in Malaysia...Wonder why they didnt sell 6555 here...

  • hi this phone rockzz nokia is better than any other phone nokia is alway user frendly and u can get games and software easily on internet fo nokia

  • does it have a headphone jack?

  • well..... ok, thanks

  • Selena X dont buy 5310 cause ringing volume very low&cant b heard in quiet environment, better get 5610 that is what I did when I exchanged 5310 for 5610&I am satisfied with it

  • People, can you help me pls.... I wanna buy a phone, but i cant choose what's better.....Nokia 6555 or Nokia 5310? .... nokia 6555 is more beautiful.... but there are less probs with nokia 5310 like people say.....

  • Yea, uhhhm it keeps turning off in the middle of texting, i dont know what is wrong with it, anyone know??

  • I have had this phone for 5 months now and I could't be hapier with it. I purchased this phone to replace my awsome and dependeble Nokia 6230 that I had for 3 years. I allways trusted Nokia for my mobile phone needs and my new 6555 seams to be no exeption. Good job Nokia!!!! and thanks!

  • hi, does anyone know how many texts this phone can store? thanks

  • I wanto to know ir the PDF reader in this phone??

  • On my first two days of use of this Nokia 6555 I discovered the battery does indeed go down in a matter of 6 to 8 hours of operation. I phoned A T and T aka Cingular customer service to make an inquiry about this matter. The helpful lady told me it sounded like my battery had to be reprogrammed since I had used it immediately upon getting it, then charging it once it went dead. She told me in order to do this battery reprogram I would have to remove my battery from the phone and leave it out over night. Then after it had been out of my phone over night, I was to charge it for 16 to 24 hours to obtain a full charge. That the lady said would fix my battery issue. I hope this pose is helpful to anyone else having this issue with their 6555 or any other phone for that matter.

  • I bought the red version of this phone. I love the way it looks and all the features it has; especially the capability to hold up to a 4 Gigabyte micro SD memory card. The Nokia 6126 I had before had a slot for an additional memory card also. I didn't lose any of my photos or ring tones when switchin to this great phone.

  • This phone is awesome. For one thing, it's handsome. I always get comments on it about how unique it looks. Also, it has really good features. And the screen and sound quality is nothing short of amazing. I do regret not taking care of it as much as I should. I've let this phone drop onto inumerable surfaces and grounds and it still works perfectly. Another great phone by Nokia. Thankyou for not letting me down. Again. I love you 6555!

  • a great phone

  • this fone must be called the photocopier machine... coz u know y??? in the 1st place they have copied KRZR... and it's too expensive!!!... well for me KRZR is more okay!!

  • I got this phone and i am starting regret it. When i got the phone it stoped working after 1 day so at&t replaced it. The second phone stoped working after about 3 days but i have not talked to at&t about it yet. The battery life is not good and the sound quality is poor. Both phones have the same problems. The battery also gets hot along wiht the entire phone.

  • c0me 0n n0kia this ph0ne lo0ks alike 6131

  • Well, judging by the way it looks, Nokia is just trying to give people the pleasure of having the slim-fit of a Moto fone while enjoying the ease of a Nokia interface. Lolz. In terms of user-friendly interface, i'll vote for nokia. =)

  • 3G with a flip but no video call, come on Nokia .... like the movie says ... U can do it ;)

  • It's really a neat phone, however a BIG problem is the battery life. You pretty much have to carry a charger at all times with this phone. Goes dead with no warning about about an hour talk time. After 25 days of use the battery would not even charge and phone was returned. Other trusted reviews from actual buyers said to AVOID:

  • my quastion is sound of ringtone low or high like the sound of nokia 3600 and can i put in it themes ,wallpaper and screensaver.thanks

  • in answer to your question is does not have a radio

  • It doesn't have FM radio. Nokia tried to make an expensive phone with not so good look and as expensive as it gets! They made it, they created AGAIN a bad and expensive mobile! YEAH!

  • is nokia so deperate, that they copy moto razr and krzr design

  • ^^ Have FM Radio? It's perfect for me! ^^

  • This phone is a joke. Samsung made the Z500 2 years ago with the same specs in a much smaller clamshell design. Nokia should stay away from clamshells. Its bulky and the screen is tiny. Get something with a touch screen. Clamshells are SOOO 2 seasons ago!!!!

  • You must be kidding me. The phone is v e r y expensive for what it gives. I don't understand why to choose this phone even if I compare it to the Sharp GX34 which is 100 euros cheaper with huge 2MP camera and good construction!

  • I already own a Nokia 6131 but I really like this phone looks.. Is it worth a buy and does it have an FM player

  • Whats java 2.1, and wats d difference between it and java 2.0?

  • In response to a few questions/comments: Yes there is caller ID on the outer screen. There is no button to "open the flip" on this phone. Keypad is good. Phone has bigger problems like screen timeout. The 6131 isn't better, but the 6263 is.

  • Why bother with this phone when the 6131 is better???

  • Is anyone using this phone with 3G sim card ? I think the 3G network drains the battery so quick, the reason is I use 3G sim card with 2G phone, the standby time became only 3 days.

  • 6555 better than K1 in many ways, just compare the specs. K1 is thinner tho.

  • Display time! How do I increase the Display time?? My display now turns off after 5 seconds? Enjoy the Phone but battery life is Poor

  • you woke up and ur phone was dead? did ur battery heat up, alot of the nokia phones are stuck with bad batteries, and will burn up till they die, so hopefully it's just ur batter and didn't fry the phone

  • Hi! anyone noticed that battery is getting warm? you feel it in the navigate buttons. is it normal? becouse some of my friend have this phone and they say that buttery is geting warm.

  • I've not even had this phone for 2 months. I wake up today and it's completely dead. I can't find a reason why either. It's not been dropped or been anywhere near water. It's a complete mystery AND I'M NOT VERY HAPPY ABOUT IT!!

  • this phone is cool accept for the battery. you may want to bring your charger with you everytime. very poor battery life.

  • I just recieved this as a gift. I like it alot, the keys feel so nice. They are sort of soft. Like suede meets plastic. For some reason I think my phone is too quiet, it might just be the speaker. I am going to go take it in to see if it is that or if its just a quiet phone. If the speaker isnt bad, (and yes I have turned it all the way up. Or atleast with all the options I found) then I think the phone is too quiet for the majority of people. On my screen in the middle are four short cuts to things, I dont know how to get it off. Im not sure if you can, or if I just havent found out how to yet. But otherwise, its a very nice phone, picture quality isnt that great. And its fairly long. But its also very nice. I like it alot!

  • It is capturing all future for the simple mobile. Therefore, I think it is very good mobile for simple usage. Thanks, NKU

  • beautiful, i seriously want it!

  • I love this phone! :) the problem is Girl phone!

  • wow great look has this phone come in Pakistan i must buy it.. the phone i am looking for......................

  • nokia does not say if this phone has caller id on the front screen but the only thing i am seeing is the analog clock can somebody tell me if i can see the who is calling me on the other screen michael from guyana

  • The buttons are quite large and very easy to type with. I struggle with the buttons on smaller phones like the 6230 but this is perfect for me, just like my 6260 was. The buttons are nice and clicky too and you don't have to push them too hard. It feels just right. The phone is not too thick at all. Yes it's not the same thinness as something like the RAZR but I don't think that was what Nokia was aiming for with this phone. One thing to bear in mind is that the phone isn't weighted too well. The balance is only slightly biased towards the base and because of the angle the phone folds out to, you can't rest the phone on its base while it's open without it acting almost like a see-saw. Also the phone doesn't have a button to open it. Flipping it open by sliding a finger between the folds and rising it up works very well, very much like a flip phone should do. Closing it is also easy and if it slams shut you don't feel like you're doing damage to the phone.

  • Pretty phone, but thick. Maybe too thick.

  • HI, can anyone tell me if this has a button on the side to open the flip like the 6131 please? also can you send audio and flash text messages(i dont know if this is standard now) thanks

  • Can anyone tell me if the keypad is good writing on?? Thanks :)

  • Its a beautiful phone but it would be better with FM radio.Nokia should plan for the 6555i .

  • this phone very nice very not problem !!

  • this phone does not have a FM radio but has a MP3 & MP4 player.

  • Is this phone has FM radio???

  • @ Andy Burgin You can buy a 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter for next to nothing from places like Maplin. To be honest it's not worth it. Even with really good headphones the sound output lacks volume and range across every band. I even tried amplifying and equalizing the music before tranferring it over but it didn't make the slightest bit of difference. This is not a phone worth listening to music on. The camera also needs a lot of natural light to take decent pictures. Again, as a camera phone this isn't a great option. What this phone IS good at though is being a phone. I still haven't found a single problem with the software and the battery life is phenomenal compared to past Nokias. I genuinely got 3 full days of light usage out of it before having to charge it. Moderate usage will give you 2 days and heavy usage will give you only 1. ANY PHONE WILL NEED CHARGING WITHIN A DAY IF YOU GIVE IT HEAVY USAGE so don't start the old Nokia battery-life flaming game. In summary as an average, stylish and reliable PHONE it's perfect. It's lightweight, easy and comfortable to use with good battery life and it does exactly what it says on the tin. If you're not bothered too much about camera quality and playing music with it then I really couldn't recommend a better phone. In the package I had delivered from France there was no memory card. I don't know if the UK retail package will include one. I bought a 2GB microSD and it works brilliant. I don't know if the phone is compatible with the 4GB microSDHC cards though. One final note is that the memory card isn't hot-swappable... but that's a good thing with those dangerously small cards!

  • Is GSMARENA going to review this phone?

  • I really like the way this mobile looks...the screen is really awsome... Can anyone tell me whether it is preferrable to buy this mobile ? What are the main disadvantages of this mobile? MY requirements are a good battery and good signal reception capability and finally a good MP3 player

  • for dlp ,you must set off the sleep mode..

  • You can definitely have the number calling you show up on your secondary/outer screen. Mine was set up that way the first week until the screen cracked. The outer display is as fragile as a piece of glass that it is. Very disappointing to have a one week old phone break. I'm not going to pay the fee and deductible for a new one. But YES you can have the incoming call display by using your menu options. Enjoy it while you can before yours breaks too. Or keep it in a hard shell protective case !!! :) DLP

  • Mine main screen is now blinking about every 2-3 seconds and won't stop. Can anyone tell me why and better yet....how to make it stop ????

  • Can anyone tell me if the caller number is displayed on the external screen so you don't have to open the phone to see who's calling you? Cheers.

  • not seen yet

  • I had this phone for about a week. I like the design and size. The screens are very nice and vivid. Downsides: The UI is not very intuitive. The battery life seems short. When the ring tone volume is maxed it is still not very loud.

  • @ Andy Burgin If you're looking to pick up a Nokia 6555 in the UK then check out www.pixmania.co.uk. They have the 6555 on there available in both black and silver.

  • This phone is available in the usa but not in england i have been on ebay in the usa an it looks as though they phone was released abit ago over there so a few available to buy

  • can anyone tell me what is the point of having a 2.5 mm audio jack when most headphone jacks are 3.5 mm? and can 3.5mm audio fit in a 2.5mm audio jack and still work?

  • nokia's motto " u can't have it all"

  • OK I've received the phone and I'm using it right now. It looks a lot better in real life than it does in the pictures. I have quite large fingers but thankfully the buttons are the right size for me. The buttons are quite light to press but still precise. The operating system (Series 40 5th Edition) is smooth and fluid and I've not encountered a single bug or crash so far. There's loads of options and settings for everything so you can tailor it to your needs. The screen is stunning. Perfectly backlit, very bright, crisp and clear. The sound output is also very good and the vibration of the phone is strong and sharp. I've not yet tested the sound quality of the music player through headphones or the camera/video function of the phone. I'm not expecting it to be stunning in that respect but it is a mid-range phone after all.

  • This phone is available to buy in europe but not in the UK. Not even the Carphone Warehouse have the phone listed at all. I found a supplier who is shipping me one from France for 160 inc. delivery. Checked the UPS tracking number and it's arriving today. I'll let you know what I think of it.

  • Only problem is see is video recording (QCIF). Why not VGA like 6233, 6288 or N95? Those are the ONLY Nokia phones I have seen so far that records video in that format! Why use prehistoric CIF when VGA is already available? and VGA is 12x better than CIF!

  • can the phone take photos when it is folded?

  • looks kinda kl, but is it plastic?

  • hey gsmarena guys when are you coming up with a review of this phone?

  • bluetooth uses lots of battery, so dont be surprised if your talk talk goes down

  • its not like all the bl-5c and bl-4c batteries are exploding.

  • BL-5C ??!! Isn't this the battery that keeps on exploding all over India? Even Nokia phones switched off while charging are exploding. Not only this but also BL-4C [N6300, N6301] batteries are also exploding.

  • I just talked to someone who has this phone. With Bluetooth on, the stand-by time is reduced to around 55 hours and the talk time to around 1.5 hours. With Bluetooth off, it's more like 120 hours stand-by and 2.5 hours talk.

  • I have read reviews that the battery doesn't last long. Especially when Bluetooth is on. Has anyone experienced this?

  • I have this phone for about 2 days and find some features really inadequate. For example, there is no way to program in a Calling Card to make international calls cheaply. I also find that battery drains quite quickly, especially with bluetooth on. Besides this, I think it's an awesome phone.

  • is available in Austria now ?!

  • There's no internal camera on this phone.

  • No, this phone does not have a video camera. It was made for AT&T (U.S. Carrier), who are not big on video calling. A separate unlocked non-US version is available soon, with W-CDMA 850/2100 MHz, rather than 850/1900. The worldwide standard 3G frequency, 2100 MHz, is not available for cell phone usage in the USA, so AT&T uses 850/1900 MHz, and T-Mobile USA uses 1700 MHz. Other US carriers use CDMA/EV-DO rather than GSM/WCDMA. This all means that phones sold in the USA are largely specific to each carrier, and that the choices are quite limited. This particular phone happened to be developed primarily for AT&T's network, although it is a quadband phone, and should work on GSM (2G) networks worldwide.

  • There is no video calling function, only 3G for data transfer. I've found out that the european release date is 15th October. It was 3rd October but it's been pushed back for some reason.

  • can someone please tell me if we can video call from this phone cheers

  • @Chunky Charu: You might want to try 6233/6234. That is the closest design I can think of that is comparable to 6555. If you're looking for 240X320 screen resolutions (which is really good) that are the same as 6555 screen resolution: Go for 6500 classic, 6500 slide, 7500 prism, 7900 prism, 6300, 6301, 6270 and 6280. Good luck on your choice.

  • does this have an internal camera for video calls? and if so, can it be used for self-portraits?

  • this pnone is awsome. It has everything frome mp3 player to video player. Its just awsome. Perfect signal all the time and not to mention the speed of the phone. it does a wonderful jub at not freezing up. good job nokia and thank you cingular.

  • Does anyone know if there is a similar model to this cell phone that doesn't come in a flip phone form?...I want the same design and color but not in flip.

  • U know it's 200. do u know where can I get one?

  • classic and elegant

  • i prefer to have this phone, i just dont like the color, can anybody tell me if i can change its case just in case I like to, just like the others nokia handset?

  • Just bear in mind the price before complaining about the average features - 200. I think it's a stunning looking phone, it's very light, long battery life, reasonable features and excellent price. I'll be buying one.

  • BTW the new capacity of BL-5C is apparently 1020mAh, unlike the older that was below(?) 900mAh. So the hope is that this one will last longer than 6131 family and maybe make a better business phone for heavier calling. We'll see.

  • Note the dimensions of the army radio, it's not going to be anywhere near "small". See a photo of this phone on nokiaport.de, exceeding 7 inches when open (yes, the ruler is in inches). Compare the 6101 (at 6" when open). Closed 6555 is only a bit less than closed 6101 INCLUDING the antenna sticking out. I hope that the battery life will justify its size.

  • did everyone forget this has like a super nice screen 16 million colors ppl twice more then visible to the human eye

  • yes it has a caculator my god can't you read khori !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • looks likes a Moto RAZR...

  • This handset does not have a calculator

  • Is it a printing error that the camera only 1.3MP?

  • From a user interface, I like it.

  • but 6555 is a same feuater in 6131

  • rather poor no radio

  • The specs say that the external display LCD boasts 256k colors with 128 x 160 pixels. So, there could be a possibility that the external LCD can be used for 3G video calls, with the aid, of course, of the phone's camera. Let us not rule out that Nokia 6555 does not support video calls despite the presence of 3G connectivity. Let us wait for reliable reviews (from GSMArena, perhaps), or the official release of the unit.

  • Why QCIF that too with 15 fps. GSMarena its not just SE whos using QCIF. Now SE is using video capture in QVGA resolution. Nokia needs some explaining to do. Nokia MR No 1 in mobile phones tell us the reason..

  • Good design, poor features! entry level phone..

  • COOOOOOL PHONE..... hope the price is good enough.... looks stylish and must have a great feel!!

  • ..It looks good for a basic basic fone... Stylish design...expect a good price for it..

  • Is it Symbian? It looks like Symbian...

  • wow the clock looks amazin shame about the side it looks too fat for a nice phone should have the it like the motorola phones now that what you call thin but the end has a big thing which isnt that good

  • how come the BL-5C battery here has 1020mah and in my ex, ex phone, the BL-5C had only 900mah... pretty interesting

  • 1.23MP for the camera, too lame. No FM radio either. With an initial price of 200EUR. Woah! Nokia, are you going backwards?!?!

  • fisrt, this phone looks like samsung x680. second,it does look good but nokia is not really known for its flip/clamp type phone. and finally, this phone does not have camera for video call which sucks. this should have been a standard feature for all 3g phone!

  • Attention: Don't buy from e-buy-global.com ! It's strange that they got mobile phones 70% cheaper, e.g. 8600 Luna - $150. It's that odd, that it doesn't even cover production expenses... So, my advice: don't even write to them. They aren't really from Italy! Their host is somewhere in Israel! It might aswell be some kid playing around behind his PC, and getting his money off our backs. When I asked for their company's registration number, business rate, or something like that, the director replied to me they haven't got it for anybody. 'Cause that's something that has to be made public, so anyone may verify it. Thanks! Bye! P.S.: Please tell others, on other forums, too!

  • The phone design looks good and clock implementation looks unique and better than other clocks I have seen on other flip phones. This phone DOESN'T look like any RAZR or any other Motorola to me. All you people who love to bash Nokia still can't get them to drop from their #1 spot in the Cellular Market!!!

  • Can anyone confirm if this has a button you can use to open it - as on 6131, or back to the 2 handed awful feeling? :-)

  • Pathetic... Motorola rip-off, and no i'm not calling any flip a moto rip off, cone on! This mobile has moto shape... Oh wait i got it Nokia and Motorola are merging, there's going to be Nokiorola :)

  • what is it? O! Nokia RAZR V3? hahahah

  • i think it looks like Mot. K1 and Nokia disigners can be more creative

  • looks like motorola..

  • Maybe, just maybe, the phone's camera can be used for video calls.

  • this phone is my one of dream models . Iam really crazzy about it.

  • Reallly this phone rocks! iam definately getiing it for my honey today.

  • noki designers are waste fellows the are designing bricks, soaps noe nokia did a good job see the motorola the are making blade like phones this one is coppy of moto razer see especially the bottom design i mean the folding of the upper part any how we think this will be a good hit the market

  • What's battery life like ? On the 6300 which also has 16M colours, it's nothing to write home about..and possibly the less said about 6131 the better

  • its a question and i nid a quick rply, pls. wats d camera specification its awesome.kip workin on it tnx

  • Looks like a copy of my Motorola W510! Only not as good!

  • 19.6mm thick. in this time and age, that's considered too thick. hope it was a typo error. anyway, i was expecting it to be 15 or below. so much for wishful thinking.

  • I have seen better but I do like the external display. But the handset seems a bit long, features are very standard, and 3G is useless without a video call camera. If the price is low, I think it will do well though.

  • Ok! I like how this phone looks. Finally a decent looking flip phone from Nokia. The only thing I don't like is the clock. hehehe. but maybe its just me. The specs are decent too. I hope it comes out soon. Crossing my fingers.

  • no, nokia and siemens havent merged. thats just a pretty baseless rumor. and FINALLY a razr shaped phone with a strong OS and a good battery life. I have always wanted to own a cell phone with this design, but motorola has always been a functional sacrifice for design, this though wouldnt be at all. and i hope its s40 so its fast. camera is probably the same 2.0 that they started from the n70-6233, its continued on to many models.

  • wael! Don't want to be rude, but please have yourself and your source of information checked. Nokia mobile phones will not be called Nokia Siemens. For one simple reason. Nokia mobiles and NSN are two independent companies (headcount, finance, design, development, etc.) It is one thing that the ownership owerlaps at the two companies. You don't really think that Ericsson (Networks) are the same as Sony-Ericsson (Mobiles), do you? Or Siemens SMD machines have anything to do with their washing machine, or with Nokia Siemens Network? As for Nokia mobiles, I think they should revise their naming structure. I keep loosing track based on what logic the numbers are assigned.

  • It looks like a downgraded version of 6267 with many features missing. Since 6267 is very good and cheap, why bother with this one ? The look, maybe....

  • Is it looks like RAZR lil bit?? but the GPRS r cool..

  • goodnews from 2008 the name of nokia mobiles will be "nokia siemens" this information came from nokia siemens network web site .

  • 1.3MP camera, video is 176x144

  • its very good looking fone by nokia and nokia also improve his battery .wow nokia keep connecting people

  • camea yes: loooooooooooooooooooooooooooool i know why becuase they didnt find yet how many pixels is it.before gsmarena post this phone wrote:we dont know yet the megapixels count or average...........

  • Oh Come on!! This is a 3G-enabled phone and yet Nokia has once again forgotted to include a secondary video camera for video call... just like what they did to their E65 model... sigh

  • what means camera YES????

  • Hmmm... 3G is nice, but I like my video-calls. No video-call camera? Too bad... Harlekkin

  • At last, Nokia has got the right designers for their new phones. These last few models are are all great, with the exception of the Prism which is unfortunately going back to their gimmicky designs! Now only am I going back to Nokias

  • Oh man..Im definitely getting this for my girl... so i can play around with it as well :P

  • looking at the screen seems like a s40

  • looks like a mix between motorla razr v3 and the k1...but w/ nokia quality and thats awesome...but the features are a bit standar...i think its gonna be a greta midle end phone.

  • Look Great. Hope quality no same N76 start peeling after few days. Anyone know is it s40 or s60 platform? when going to be in market?

  • nice phone.. it looks like my 6131 crossbred with my v3.. hahaha btw its 3g! cool..

  • a beautiful masterpeice

  • camera yes?! yes

  • This phone doesn look bad but it could do with some lipo

  • Nice looking phone

  • noki designers are waste fellows the are designing bricks, soaps noe nokia did a good job see the motorola the are making blade like phones this one is coppy of moto razer see especially the bottom design i mean the folding of the upper part any how we think this will be a good hit the market

  • best option for Nokia Folding handset lovers. just look at the battery power, its excellente!! well done nokia!!

  • this phone is excellent. I commend nokia on this, they are going places. Just want to know the cost of this phone in dollars so that i can save towards buying one

  • Does anyone know about the external screen... is it multi functional or is it only for displaying the time?

  • Part of the design look like copy cat of Motorola new generation flip phone, the other part(especially the outer shape) look so much like Samsung flip phones from couple years ago

  • Phone for the fashionistas. Next batch of phones, please?

  • Not too bad but my SE Z710i is a lot better :D

  • I'm guessing this is a VGA camera which is a bummer coz overall this is a nice phone, but it might have a better camera and GSMArena havn't had it confirmed.

  • errrrr it looks abit Scary ! but its Ok for a Basic Phone

  • 6555 has 1.3mp but it is cooL design...

  • Fatty, fatty!

  • Another RAZR-like phone

  • Motorola V3i wanna be... I guess the speakers would not sound that good, so music lovers don't even dream of getting this Nokia phone if you like using your mobile phone for listening to music from the speakers rather than a handsfree ear phone. But Nokia must also always be appreciarted for their efforts to try to remain the No.1 brand in the Mobile Phone Market worldwide. Cheers!!

  • goodnews start next year2008 the new name of all nokia mobiles "nokia siemens" will bigger and larger and the best in all .

  • nice but 2 mp would be betta

  • im first!!! Camera is 1.3 MP
