  • My man.....this phones operating system has been dead for 7 years already and I am pretty sure there’s no one in this world right now at this moment still using it as a daily driver although I have both pre and pre 3 I still use it from time to time because google map and Skype still works on it ....... fortunately I’ve downloaded onto these 2 webos phones years ago No manufacturer gonna produce display of a phone where no one is using it anymore

  • Hi Bharat. • I got this from at&t 3 weeks now. Unlocked and overclocked to 1ghz stable 1week now. Best phone iv ever used! Its a shame they don't have enough good apps tho. I'm running 1.4.5 btw

  • can I used the Unlocked Version of this phone in any country like Sr lanka..??? plzz help.. thank u all..!!

  • Are we going to get 2.1 update on Pre PLus at &T?

  • Excellent phone for the price used, got the GSM version to use with AT&T. Good: Multitasking is excellent. Like the gesture. Like the fact all contacts n notes are synced to Palm and automatically backed up everyday. Two complains: 1. App selection is really limited, less than WinPhone7 or Android. 2. Battery life is less than desired with its tiny 1150mah battery, compared to many other phones which feature 1300-1800mah batteries.

  • I bought this model because I wanted relatively cheap first time experience with real smartphone which has phone-rather-than-brick form-factor and good OS. Both was as good as expected. However, several points should be mentioned regarding question why it's so poorly rated (even comparing to its predecessor). First, I'm sure people were disappointed how little were improved in this model. Addition of memory didn't not improve mediocre performance especially for 2nd generation. Improved keyboard couldn't compensate for overall disappointment - but convinced me to prefer Plus over previous model. Secondary, there are too many small disappointing things you cannot accept in 2nd generation model. 1) Camera is slow (it even froze the phone once) and makes only acceptable pictures in full light. 2) Software apps are limited: no Skype, MS Office editing, Flash and when you try to find something in web - it's all work-in-progress. 3) Phone has mediocre quality (probably also due to prepaid network I use). 4) Battery only enough for 1-2 days of mild use even without Bluetooth. 5) Lots of accidental operations (probably general touch-issue). 6) Plastic display get scratched - get cover. You can make a lot of upgrades from Preware - Palm Pre community... if you like those kind of stuff. Despite all that, this is a solid smart-phone with beautiful card interface, real multi-tasking, quality display and keyboard, good search-all-in-one capability and nice touch-stone-charger for only $200. It's just not competitive enough... unless gets upgraded by HP.

  • Why is this poorly rated compared to the original Palm Pre? It's better right?

  • just bought one used from ebay, $180 usd + touchstone. hopefully it'll be able to persuade me to purchase the future Palm & part from my berry.

  • hey can u unlock the palm pre to use it in india??? pls reply

  • Can anybody tell me please, can one create word & excel files on the Plam Pre Plus and also edit them and sync them with PC. Also having synced an existing file from PC can one then edit them on the Pre Plus and sync the edited file back to PC? I've been able to do this easily on my Treo 680 but that has finally died on me and I need a reliable replacement soonest. Thanks

  • can i install these "apps" without having to unlock the phone or something ? do i loose the warranty ?

  • ya most of patches and homebrew app s are available for pixi.. Find more on precentral.net one patch or say kernal upgrade ur processor to 1Ghz from500 Mhz.. I.e. Doubles ur mobile speed. Its as if palm device on steroids..

  • To PIN: What are the "tweaking, patches and homebrew apps" you referred to ? Does the same apply to the Palm PixiPlus as well ? I am thinking of getting either one of them to replace my old Tro 650.

  • HI, GUYS if u want to use this mobile truly,, u have to have, the homebrew(preware) installed, else don t buy this phone. its not 20% worth without tweaking, patches and homebrew apps..And after that you won t like to look at any other OS phone...be it Android/IOS/BB.. u will see the difference. i m simply loving PRe+

  • yea really not alot i wounder why not

  • Its not really much different between it but that could just be my opion.

  • Renz, been waiting for this too. i tried to email palm to ask its availability but i keep getting return mails. i think their address isn't working. cant find another email contact for them.

  • Rams, I have a Globe Visibility unlimited data plan here in the Philippines for more than 3 years now. I also had the Smart's (or PLDT?) unlimited data plan (w/c was slower) for more than 1 year before I got the Globe Visibility. I'm still using with this my very old Treo 650 because I was waiting for this Palm Pre but until now I don't have any news if this will ever reach our shores. I'm considering HTC Desire now.

  • I meant not alot of apps * My bad.

  • Nice interface ( webOS). Easy to use. battery life is not bad (imo). great app catalog ( but not all of them). keyboard is great to type on (imo).

  • Got this when it came out on att. Hoping it would offer a lot more than my SE 760. As it turns out the dumb phone was faster on most regular tasks, better and faster integration with Google apps. The battery life was the deciding factor though. I need to have my phone run all day!

  • yes it is but you must check the 3G in your country because this phone support 1900 but in many country its 2100. but the GSM Edge will work just fine. notice: if you ordered the UK verging it's support 3G 2100 (your country ether 1900 or 2100)

  • is video call & SIP call possible in this palm pre devices.

  • Does it works woldwide?

  • Hi, is ur phone Palm Pre? Did you purchase it in the US and directly from Palm?

  • something are easier to use on the palm pre plus but the driod pffers you alot more in terms of applications if thats what you are looking for, my personal preference is the pre though

  • Yes, youtube is very clear. Your video are in HQ. plus the phone is like jig saw puzzle. Im still learning new things about it. I purchase it when it came out last June.

  • RAM, actually we do have unlimited data plan in the Philippines that's about $26.50 a month (or Php 1,200). Globe and Smart provide this, Im not sure with Sun.

  • Wanting to know if the Palm Pre Plus is better than the Droid.

  • AT&T sent out an announcement via their Channel Communications that it is releasing this on May 16.

  • big new Hp buy palm at 5.00

  • No radio? I don't believe the Iphone has a radio either. But anyone heard of Pandora? Might've heard of it. Pre Is hands down a better phone

  • not sure what you guys mean. I have both the Pre (original) and the Iphone 3gs. I use for business, games, reading and obviously communications and hands down the Pre is better nicer looking more robust and better interface. makes coms a sinch fantastic idea well delivered I urge people to Buy the Pre and forget the apple

  • who uses radio any more and do you realy need more then 16GB? realy??

  • No card slot... weak battery... no radio. Sorry Palm, better luck next time.

  • I really wanted to like the original Pre and snapped up the chance to try out one of the demo models; This left a long lasting impression, which unfortunately for Palm, was quite a poor one. The software wasn't up to scratch for release and the hardware itself was nowhere near the quality (both in appearance or feel) of the likes of the HTC or Apple offerings we had at the time. Unfortunately there doesn't appear to be a huge change in aesthetics on this 'new' model and with the existing OS, Palm still has a long way to go if they want to make a dent in the UK smartphone market.

  • can i yse scype or google talk or any voip app on this device?

  • u shud buy this phone regardless of the warranty offered cos ur service provider/carrier wud hv to replace ur phone shud it fail. compatibility might be an issue u wna consider but as long as ur not after loads of useless and time consuming apps. i bought a neonode n2 after they went bankrupt eventho no carrier offered it and it had no warranty. it was built in 2007 and it hasnt failed once. im not saying ur phone definitely wont fail but usually warranties are useless. pHone

  • We have the Palm Pre in the UK. O2 are offering customers alternative models instead of replacements or repairs now. It's probably cheaper for them! I'm not sure if it's worth the Pre Plus coming to the UK. I certainly wouldn't give Palm a 2nd chance.

  • cool device !!

  • its a blackberry. the show is sponsored by them

  • At the moment, Palm webOS is the world best multitasking mobile OS.

  • yes it is

  • palm should release this is asia, specially philippines. the market is the world! not only US. look at nokia they are around the globe. so even if thier sales is US is not that strong their still number 1.

  • Globe, smart and sun cell have unlimited plan for internet or data plan. globe has plan 1200 alone for internet data plan...

  • Its this one, alot of TV shows are using them, including CSI and 24

  • Yes the Pre Plus will have 850 and 1900 for 3G...

  • can anyone comment - i am in a debate about the show "flash forward" shown on five in the uk. is this the handset you see every character with or is it some kind of bb? thanks!

  • To WebOS. I agree with cause I know Philippine carrier doesnt have any unlimited internet plan as of the moment. btw ur from C*bu? From Sy**s? I thought palm will be pulled out from that place?

  • I thought i read something about the palm pre plus on AT&T only having 850 and 1900 mhz frequencies. Can some one confirm this. thanks

  • Btw the Pre is already in Europe Ireland, UK, France, and Germany, last i checked theyre all in Europe

  • lol suuure you work for Palm and you dont want people to buy a Palm phone? good one

  • Hi webos_master, are you from Palm? May I ask what is you company strategy and when do plan to release this phone to Asia and Europe... 2020? So frustrating to wait and waiting for nothing!

  • This phone will die soon... WebOS will soon history... I am soooo tired of waiting for this and I gave up already. How long more Palm will let people wait outside US for this phone? Palm's strategy is really bad, didn't they realize that Asian and European market will get back on top? THEN DIE PALM!!!!

  • being from PALM tech support I dont advice people to buy GSM palm pre. this phone needs to have a permanent data service 24/7 to ensure proper data sync and OS updates. The phone basically focuses its applications to a internet-based application. Having a prepaid connection for this phone will render phone to be useless or it will lead you spending a lot for data connection.

  • theres a black border above the wallpaper, it just looks like it joins with the phones body

  • The clock, battery status and 3g and wi-fi are displayed above the screen? Or there is a led to show those indicators? The photo is weird.

  • Based on the generally positive response to the CDMA-version of the Palm Pre Plus, the GSM-version user experience is likely to be pretty good. But, given Palm's apparent near-death condition, is it wise to invest in a piece of hardware, well-conceived as it may be, when there may not be a manufacturer to back it up in a few months?

  • while ur correct that palm isnt that type of company, they cud surprise us by introducing a v powerful android phone. they hv surprised us (or at least me) in the past. can u say u were expecting them to release something like the palm pre? i wasnt, but its gr8 that they did. also they do need to spread out. if they continue along the path of making palm pre look-alikes, they r following the path motorola did with their razr phones and how did that end? im not saying the phones they currently make and r planning to make r no good, but there needs to be more variety. just my opinion tho, u can disagree pHone

  • Palm is not that kind of company. Think of Palm in the same light as you would Blackberry. The Palm Pre is a nice phone and I would like to see them offer 3 versions a year.

  • Palm needs to get this phone to the masses outside of USA & certain European countries - I am dying to get my hands on one, but no luck in South Africa :( Would be a shame to see WebOs disappear

  • besides the frequency it uses for data, wats the dif btwn this and the original palm pre? also wats the dif between this and the gsm pre sold in europe? all i can find is that the button-like thing on the front face of it is now flatter and the internal memory has been doubled. everything else seems exactly the same. still a good phone, but palm need to produce other phones as well. i wud like to see them make an android phone since so far most android phones that any company has made was successful. pHone

  • First!! Phone looks pretty cool
